    I kept telling the guy from the first store I went to before I left that I could not hear out of the left ear and that the hearing aid wasn't working. But he said the computer says it's showing okay and he wouldn't listen to me. When I went to a different store, a different salesperson had them switched around. The first salesperson had them in the wrong ear. And I needed to go on to a computer. Other than that, they work just fine.

    I had Engage hearing aids for eight years. But I never did the upkeep on them. They gave me a hearing test. My hearing was worse and had to upgrade it. I like the new upgraded Lucid hearing aids from Engage a lot. The first time I got them, I had to go almost two weeks before they readjusted them again at the office there. Because of snow and we had a small issue here, the rep said, "I gotta cancel. I gotta do it next week." No problem. But once they dialed it in, it was a little bit too loud for me at first. But this new thing, I can adjust it as is. When we get somewhere too loud, I can mute them. The people that I dealt with were also very professional, good and helpful.

    My hearing aids weren't correct to start with. When I went back to have them looked at, the first lady had already quit her job. The young lady that they brought in was trying to help me, and I kept telling her that they weren't correct. The company said, “Well, yeah, we can use these and try to make you some more.” They did and they were worse than the first ones I got. I told Susan, “You're going to have to re redo these because they're way too big for my ears because I have little, mini canals.” This is the third try and I only got these about a month now. So, I'm trying to work these out and see if they're going to work. If not, then I'll have to go with another option.

    Susan is very good, patient, and a very sweet person. She’s tried her best. What was so aggravating, it took me so long. I started getting these in October and I never got them until December sometime. What I don't understand is why they start charging and it takes a month to get the hearing aids. I already got a payment before I even received them.

    I like the hearing aids. When I get on the app on my phone, it says that all I'm able to do is turn the volume up and down. It also shows on there I could change the different things on it, but I don't have that option. Raymond at Sam's was saying that for whatever reason, my hearing aids didn't have that particular option.

    The hearing aids were comfortable when they worked. But they worked intermediately. The cost seems to be on par with just about everything else but the quality is questionable at the moment. Right now, I'm about halfway satisfied, halfway pissed off. One works, one doesn’t. I'm fixing to send them back to the store tomorrow. I’ve taken it to Engage one time and they’ve done something, and the hearing aids worked for a week. Now, one hearing aid is shut down. You can turn it on and then it'll stay on for about 10 minutes, and then it shuts off. It won't do anything. It says it's still connected to the phone on the app, but you can't even touch it. It has static. It's just dead.

    I'm on my second style of those hearing aids from Engage. The first ones that I bought, I didn't like at all. I had nothing but trouble with them. After almost three months of issues, replaced the first ones. I finally said, “That's it with that. Switch me to the lesser ones.” And those have been better, but I still have issues with the batteries.

    When I put a fresh battery in, when it beeps saying that it needs a battery, I have to open and close that little battery compartment two times to get that battery to work. Then after about 10 seconds, it'll start doing that beep-beep-beep, like the battery is going dead. If I just leave it in there and just ignore that, a few seconds later it comes on and it's working fine. I'm not overly impressed with the hearing aids.

    The representative from Engage is excellent and very professional. The test was great. So far, so good. I've gone back once and had the aids adjusted, and Sarah really helped me out with that. My Engage hearing aids are a little bit higher quality. I put them in in the morning and I take them out at night and I don't fidget with them much. The cell phone thing that was on there that Sarah hooked up for me was a pain in the butt. I drive most of the time with my window open because I like the fresh air even in the summertime and when the phone comes on, the background noise is unbelievable.

    Engage is close to my home and it also wasn't too ridiculous in price so I gave them a shot. The rep was very good and he convinced me to get the hearing aids because I had been putting it off forever. Before when there was background noise, I never knew what anybody was saying. If I wasn't looking directly at them, I would have no clue what was going on. Now, I can hear more conversations. I'm hearing stuff I hadn't heard in 20 years. But I might have to get the hearing aids adjusted down a little bit because everything's so loud. I thought maybe I'd get a little used to it but it's actually annoying. But other than that, the hearing aids are working out fine.

    Every one of the reps has been very professional and I was pleased with their services. With the hearing aids, I am able to understand words and voices better as well as TV and radio. I chose not to get the rechargeable ones because if I'm using them and they go blank, then I won't have to wait for them to recharge. I can put a battery instead. I usually keep batteries in my truck and in my house and at work. So that if I have a problem, I can change them immediately and go on with my conversations.

    I'm not absolutely thrilled with my Engage hearing aids. For some reason, my right one falls off of the Bluetooth. I had an occasion where I was in a noisy environment where they didn't block the sound, and they just started wailing in my ears, I had to turn them off and turn them back on, which I haven't reported yet. Other than that, they've been okay. I'm just getting used to them because now I can control them.

    I've been having some problems with the Engage hearing aids. They don't seem to like my phone. Sometimes, they'll just disconnect from the phone and I look to my app and it says I'm connected. They're just not really compatible with a phone because it takes away from the performance of your phone, which is kind of aggravating. Other than that, I liked that I can answer the phone and hear it through the hearing aids.

    I went to Engage to ask them what the basic start out price was for hearing aids and Nicole, the rep, gave me all the information. It was great customer service. I’d give her an A+ of going out of her way. I wanted to postpone and come back at a later date but she said she would go out of her way to stay there late for me to come in because I had weird hours. She showed me the difference between the top-of-the-line to the bottom-of-the-line. She also let me try the different ones out in the store. She takes pride in her work. There have been at least three people that I have told to get their hearing checked if they want hearing aids. I've had a few hearing tests done but I've never had one like that. It seemed to me like the hearing test with Engage went a little more in depth of what I was having problems with, instead of just beeps, with the voices, different words. It was completely different.

    I've only had the hearing aids in my ears for about 48 hours. I'm still learning the tweaks and the things but I like the idea of being on my phone. Because the first day I wore them back to work, I went into the office and there was a bunch of guys talking in there, and it was extremely loud. I just pulled my phone out, turned the volume down a little bit and went on my way. Since using the hearing aids, there is a difference in the stuff that I heard. I never heard it clearly, crisp and as I did before. I'm very satisfied with everything so far.

    I got some issues with the Engage hearing aids. I can't turn them down far enough. Loud noises scared the hell out of me.     Engage made a tremendous change in my life. “What” was the favorite word in the house BEFORE I went to the doctor to have my ears checked. I couldn't hear anyone and nobody could hear me. The TV was too loud. The doctor suggested that perhaps it wasn't time for a full-blown, fitted, expensive hearing aid, that perhaps something else would do for now.     I had someone from Engage call me last week. I'm still monitoring the battery recharge capacity of one of the hearing aids. When I first received them, the right hearing aid had only about eight hours of operating time after I had charged it. That increased over the next couple of days to 10 hours. But as some recharging units of other tools I have seemed to increase with use, I'm kind of monitoring it. It's upwards of about 14 hours now. If it continues to increase toward the advertised duration, then it'll be perfectly acceptable.

    The little drying and sanitizing unit might be defective and it does need to be replaced. Also, I think that the app that I have downloaded to my iPhone needs some improvements. There are some inconsistencies in the way that the app behaves. Outside of that, the ability to modulate tone and sound quality is a vast improvement, in my experience, compared to competitors. Overall, the quality of the hearing aids is superior to my experience with other name-brand hearing aids. I'm quite pleased with Engage.

    Engage's price point was good. I did complete the purchase online. I had already had an outside hearing test and I knew what I wanted to get. I've looked at many different brands and Engage seemed to have the right information I needed provided on the website. So, that helped a lot. The hearing aids work very well and the biggest things were, one, I didn't have to buy batteries, and two, the charger came with it. The batteries recharge very nicely. They seem to adapt, too. I do sound production for bands and different things like that, and they almost seem to adjust to the environment I’m in, especially dealing with different musicians. I've heard other hearing aids don't work like that. There are three definite settings for the volume and I use the minimum and they seem to work very well with not getting in the way of me listening to sounds.

    When I wear my hearing aids, I do have a better experience in hearing my wife, my daughter and things around me. So, that's worth it. For years, they've been saying, “Go get a hearing aid” because I would say, “What?” Now, they seem to notice I respond to them better. The hearing aids seem to fit very nicely. They're not bulky to where they get in the way of eyeglasses. I haven't had any problems that I had to call and ask somebody a question about.

    If I was to recommend hearing aids, Engage, I would. It's a product that’s well worth the money because you have control. The price wasn't bad too. It wasn't near what I thought it was gonna be, and Engage has a good payment plan. You can put a down payment on them and pay them, which is what I'm doing, because they're expensive all the way around. All of them are. I checked on the price of the Phonaks, and they’re up around $4,000.

    I got my Phonaks from the VA and they were free. When they were working, they were fine. You could turn them up and down with the little button on them, but you had no control over them as far as when they start timing out after three months. They'd shut down on you and you had no control to boot them back up. You can download the Phonak app, the controller, but unless the VA gives you permission to use it, you don't have access to it. It's proprietary and they won’t give you access. I didn’t know that, but I found out quick. I went through two pairs of those things.

    I work outside a lot in the weather and I sweat. Another issue I had with Phonak is if I sweat on them, it shuts them down. It's the same thing with Engage. I have a dehumidifier for them but I just take them off when I'm outside working. They may be water resistant, but they’re not waterproof. I wear glasses too, so sweat gets all over them. I’ve looked at some in-the-ear type hearing aids because of the sweating issue. The problem with that is I didn't see any that were controllable via an app. Once they were set, you had to live with whatever it was you had. With Engage, I've got the app. I control them, and I can turn them up and down and change the program how I want to, depending on where I'm at.

    I went to a hearing specialist, then I had my wife take care of the rest. I was busy taking care of other things, but I told her what I wanted. My hearing is bad and we got the hearing aids 'cause the thing is if I don’t, I can't hear very well. I just got my ears checked and I have one infection right now in one ear. Other than that, the clarity is good, and I enjoy it. I can hear from a long distance. It helps me out.

    I'm having all kinds of problems with my hearing aids. With the buttons on there, you don't know what's going on. You mash them for three times, and then you say, “Well, maybe I mashed them five times, or maybe I mashed them six times.” It's nice to be able to use my iPhone to adjust everything because I can see what I'm doing. Although the app is an excellent thing, I don't know what's happening now. The first time my hearing aids got set up, they were working good, but the next day, the program Engage had worked with me on was gone, and I was back to the old factory setting. I thought that once you set it, it was set till I reset it. I talked to someone from Engage yesterday, and the guy helped me somewhat by getting it adjusted on my iPhone, but this morning when I got up, they were back to the old setting.

    I can’t hear the TV, and when I’m having a conversation with other people, they're plenty loud, but not clear. I called Engage back and they said, “You need to get them programmed on your iPhone.” I got my grandson to do that for me and after that, I've been trying to adjust them to where I can use them, but I'm not having very good luck. For example, when I get the volume up enough that I can hear the TV, the voices are not clear. Also, when I get that volume turned up that much, they get to squealing every once in a while. One of the people that I talked to was in the early stages, and when I told him that I was having trouble with understanding, he said, “Well, you need to put it on music.” I can't though. If there's a music program, I haven't been able to find it. There are supposed to be four different programs, and the only ones I've been able to get were the mild and the moderate.

    Overall, my hearing aids are okay, but I haven't been able to adjust them properly. I've tried to use different programs, but I'm 87 years old, and I'm having trouble with this iPhone and the program. I should return my hearing aids, but I don't know if I'm at a point to where I can. Also, I don't wanna return them because I'll just have to go get me some more somewhere else. I hope they will work.

    Engage was the first one we tried out and came back to. The videos on YouTube were informative and very clear. We did struggle with ordering online though. We tried multiple times but it didn't seem to be terribly intuitive to us to go through it. We wound up having to call someone and do it on the phone. The gentleman was very helpful and patient. We got the hearing aids and we're very happy with what we've accomplished for my mom's hearing. The left one seemed to make an absolute difference. She's pretty religious about taking care of it and making sure they're charging. But we found that the one for her right ear did no good so we contacted the company. It was a small part of the wiring that had to be changed to turn a right ear into a left ear. They sent us that at no charge in a box that they paid for. They also paid for the return shipping. The instructions were utterly clear and concise so that I could switch it over.

    Engage's people were really helpful. I liked the idea that I can change the volume of my hearing aids on my cell phone. They walked me step-by-step through everything that I needed to do because I'm not good with cell phones. They made sure I got the right app and got everything installed correctly. I was having trouble pairing the phone with the hearing aids, and they took me through that one as well. So far, I've had a good experience with them. My hearing aid has worked fine for the times that I use it. If I went with the high-end hearing aids of $7,000 they would have drowned out background noise a little more. But for the price, the Engage hearing aids do that enough where I can focus on the person speaking.

    I saw that Engage was USB-chargeable, which I liked better than trying to replace batteries. So far, it's good. The hearing aids are doing what I need them to do. I've been also able to navigate the hearing aids and their apps satisfactorily.

    I was looking at the features of the hearing aid and considering value for the dollar. I called an Engage rep and he worked well with me. He answered my questions. I can control the hearing aids from my phone but I found out I have to upgrade my phone to the next Android upgrade for it to work right. That feature doesn't work right now for me. I also had an issue with one of the hearing aids not charging and it would die after about six hours or less. The rep sent me two new ones and I sent mine back. That was easy enough. So far, so good.

    Easy to use, easy to set up with your iPhone for volume and setting changes. As soon as I put them in my ears I could hear sounds I have not heard in years. There is no background noises, very clear sound. You can change from mild to moderate to extreme etc. Highly recommend this product. Less expensive than what I would have paid at an audiologist office with the same or better results.

    I've looked at a lot of stuff for the past couple months and recently, I saw Engage. When I was doing searches, maybe it wasn't coming up as quickly as other companies. It'd be great if they could have more advertising. I haven't seen any other ads anywhere. If more people knew about it, they would really like it. My experience was great. It was pretty quick to get the product - maybe three days. I'm really happy with them. I've tried two other different types of hearing aid systems and I like this one definitely the best. I didn't like the feeling before that my ears felt so plugged up. It does not feel like that with these and I feel like the sound is a more natural kind of sound.

    The lady that sold Engage to me called me back and wanted to know if I was satisfied. I told her I was satisfied for the most part. But I can't turn them up and down in my ears and they won't stay. Once my telephone is unhooked from them, they go real high. She was supposed to send me a webpage that tells me the difference, but she didn't do it. I don't know how much time I have left, but I might have enough time to send them back because I'm not too happy with the company on that. She didn't do a good job.

    I highly recommend Sam's Club hearing aid department for anyone who may have a hearing problem. My technician, Jackie, was very professional, courteous, friendly and most of all she took the time to make sure that her goal was perfection. My life has certainly changed for the better since I have my new hearing aids. I just wish I had done this earlier and not waited so long. I now realize that waiting is the worst thing you could do, as your hearing will not get better on its own. It feels great to hear normal again. Thank you, Jackie!
