My overall experience with Beltone has been excellent. Their reps are top-shelf people. I got the hearing aid that sits behind the ear and the cable is over in my ear. It has a volume control and it works fine. I only have one hearing aid in the right ear because I had a roadside bomb blow my left ear, and getting a hearing aid was quite an enhancement for my life. I am able to hear better.

I had a cousin by marriage who used to sell Beltones years ago. He had really worked hard and given good service then, so I figured it was still carrying on. I got their new one which was the over-the-ear and it’s very comfortable. I don’t think anybody has been able to tell that I have them on. They're so small and almost invisible. The battery life is about a week and I haven’t had any problems with my Beltone.

I have hearing loss from loud noise. I used Lyric before and I got it from Johnson Audiology. I liked them because they would fit in my ear and you can't see them. I own and drive a truck and about 85% of the time I'm in a high noise environment, and so the hearing aids adjust to the noise. Then Johnson Audiology dropped the ball on it. The batteries went down and they didn't have my size. Three months later I had to go by there and they go, "Nobody called you?" I told them that I'm going to opt out of the program so I went to Beltone. It was about $3300 a year and a lot cheaper. It works well and it's more durable than Lyric, it doesn't tear up when you pull them out. They also had a thing to put on the hearing aids so it wouldn't drop. So, I get the same quality for less money.
I like Brian and Becky over there. They're super good people. They take me when I get in there, do the deal, clean my hearing aids, and check my ears making sure everything is up to par. They're very knowledgeable because I was looking at the bigger model that I can hook up to my phone then Brian said, "Judy, don't you remember you said you didn't want to look like you had a piece of gum sticking out in your ear?" I probably said that and forgot about it.
Then I lost one of my hearing aids as I was trying to pull a piano on the chassis on a trailer with slide axles. It popped out of my ear in the mud and I didn't realize it at the moment. It was the same color as the mud so I couldn't find it. But then I got the little ones with the little batteries that go down in the ear. I hear way more than I want to and I guess that's a good thing. It's been a great experience so far and I'm trying to get my mother to use it as she wants to hear too but she has vertigo.

I love my Beltone hearing aids, and they're the best ones I've ever had. I had two pairs of Siemens hearing aid before and I didn’t like them. I’ve had my Beltones for almost a year and I love to hear the sounds that I couldn't hear before. The only thing with them is I had trouble with the left hearing aid. It worked fine before they worked on it, but after they worked on it, it totally went out. They couldn't figure out what was going on, so I took it back. I got it back two weeks later and the representative didn’t say anything. When I put it in my ear, the button could not be turned up or down. So I'm going to take it back and let them work on it again. I think the warranty is still good on it. Other than that, the people from Beltone are very friendly, and I’m very pleased with them. I recommended them to somebody and she likes the hearing aids too.

My parents loved Beltone and I got the hearing aids that go behind the ear. It's a new one that I can program with my phone, but I couldn't handle that feature and it was too much for me. The hearing aids are easy to wear, though, and I got a permanent custom ear piece to hide it because it kept sliding out. The hearing care professionals have been very good to me and I can't complain.

Beltone was close to where I eat and I got from them the last one they just put out. It’s pretty good but it's off and on. Sometimes the telephone is working really well with my hearing aid but there are times that I cannot understand the people on the other end.

I have the Beltone hearing aid that goes behind my ear with the little wire that goes inside. However, it was way overpriced. I only paid $2,500 for the other ones that I had and they were very close to being the same quality as what I got with Beltone. But I have this hearing aid hooked up to my phone so can hear through it when talking on my phone, and that is my favorite feature. Also, through the instructions on the map thing on my phone, I can maneuver wherever I need to go. It talks to me right in my hearing aids. I also don't have to worry about radio noise.
The speech is fine but trying to listen to music through the hearing aid is not good. It's lacking the quality of a speaker to reproduce the music the way that it should be. I can't hear the TV any better as well. So if it's a sports show or a newscast, I can understand what they're saying. Also if it's a drama or a comedy, sometimes a lot of things get missed. I thought about purchasing the unit that hooks up to the TV and can send the sound directly to my hearing aids. But they need to perfect the reproduction of the sound a little better before that.
The people that I dealt with at the Beltone store both seemed to do a more thorough job than the prior persons that I went to. They knew a whole lot about the hearing aids at the time that I purchased mine. They learned right along with me 'cause I did some adjustments to my hearing aid on my phone that they didn't even know could be done. The individual that I went to was thankful that I was investigating all those options. But they had to call an expert on some of the things that I was asking about to know what was available for us between the hearing aid and the software.
I also went back a couple of times to have adjustments made. The sound coming through was somewhat tinny sounding and the staff made some adjustments there to lower that and I could hear it better. The fit's fine too. The hearing aid does help and I can hear a lot better, but it's not a cure-all. I try to explain that to everybody, that I'm still not going to be able to hear everything right off the get-go. There are quite a few adjustments on these things and sometimes that can be a distraction too. There are limitations to the product and there is room for improvement, but I will continue using this. I've been very satisfied with my experience.

I am a physician and new to the experience of myself needing a hearing aid. First, I was surprised at the high cost of most of the hearing aids and especially so given that I believe the technology is still quite poor. With this proviso, I will say that I believe the crucial tipping point is the skill (or lack of) of the technician testing the patient and making adjustments based on feedback from the patient.
After multiple visits to Costco trying their hearing aids I gave up because I just was not getting through to the tech. I was having feedback (echo) - too poor fitting that apparently is related to the lack of occlusion of the space in the external canal around the hearing aid. I went to Beltone in Central Point, Oregon and the tech of many decades immediately solved this problem. So the Costco hearing aids were returned and I am using Beltone. The iPhone app that interacts with the Beltones is very useful. I wish I could link all my audio related devices via Bluetooth to the Beltones (like my iMac).
Now for my feedback regarding what is so pathetic about all of this technology: I do great in small groups of people but if you put me in a restaurant or with a large group of people I am very distressed - too poor comprehension of what is being said. I try the "restaurant mode" on the software app and it does help some, but not enough.
Watching TV is a total fiasco due to the various sound levels of programs & commercials. I have a new LG TV and have tried the advertisement equalizing function. My conclusion is that the FCC, like most government agencies, is sitting on their duff and does not enforce regulations about amplitude of commercials. How absurd in our so-called age of technology. Googling this topic just now at ** supposedly confirms that there are laws that suppose to regulate sound level of commercials. The cable company in my area has a monopoly and perhaps is getting away with non-compliance.
I think that others may have this problem too but am not sure. I find that both the Costco and the Beltone brand of hearing aid cause me to have itching in the external canals. I was given drops both at Costco and at Beltone so I am concluding that this is commonplace. The drops do not seem to help that much. I wonder if this is a reaction to some agent in the earpiece? It is annoying. Would love to get feedback from others.
UPDATED ON 10/02/2016: This is a follow up to my previous review on Sept 29th. My father-in-law was visiting from S. Korea and having major difficulties using the Siemens hearing aid that was fitted in Korea. I called Hugh (Jack) ** at the Central Point, Oregon Beltone office and scheduled an appointment for testing on this past Friday. I sat in on the testing. It indicated significant hearing loss with right more than left, and that the Siemens aid was not giving him adequate improvement. Jack fitted him with Beltones and agreed that he could wear them over the weekend.
On Sunday night my father-in-law and mother-in-law related to me (via my bilingual wife) how thankful they were that he could now hear and how much more communicative he was. My mother-in-law felt like she had a new husband. This was related in a family gathering sitting around the dinner table after we all had engaged in lively conversation. There was not a dry eye in that room. It was one of the most gratifying moments I could remember. I reflected how gracious, patient, and sensitive that Jack was during the exam and fitting.
Given Beltone is an international company with offices in Korea, Jack said he would call the Korean office and obtain info on multiple items to relate to us before my in-laws returned to S. Korea. NOW WHERE DO YOU COME ACROSS SUCH AN INCREDIBLE EXPERIENCE AS THIS? I am a medical doctor of almost a half century's duration. This was not only expertise on Jack's part but pure generosity and compassion that is too often lacking in our present day society.

The hearing aid I was using before was with the battery, didn't fit in my ear well and wasn't comfortable. Then, there was a gentleman at my church who recommended Beltone to me. I got a free exam letter in the mail so I called and made an appointment. The company has fantastic people. They work with the customer, are very attentive and wanna make sure everything is okay. I can call them if I need to and they do whatever I needed done. It's good to be able to hear. The one I have is the electronic model that goes behind the ear. It's comfortable and one can't see them by the way my hair hangs at the ear. I'm really happy with the hearing aid and I would definitely recommend Beltone.

Beltone has been around for centuries and all their hearing care professionals have been exceptionally good, pleasant and helpful. I had some trouble when I first got the hearing aids, and they brought me right in and took care of it right away. I like my hearing aids and they make a big difference since I'm a musician and I play music on the road. However, its batteries don't last long enough. I replace them after only four to five days of usage and they are not cheap. But besides that, it's all been good.

I was able to secure a fairly significant discount from Distinct Benefit Solutions and that's why I bought from Beltone. I got the one that connects to the iPhone and behind my ear. I've had some issues with it and the Beltone store here has been very helpful in taking care of that. Their rep was on time, and in our area, that's really important. I wear the hearing aids all day because I work and by the end of the day, I'd have to put the volume and the treble up high and it would eat up the batteries. One was sent back to the factory, and that seemed to be repaired and that's fine. Then the same thing was starting to happen with the left ear and so that's with the factory right now.
Before Beltone finally decided that they were going to send my hearing aids back, they tried to adjust it which was fine. I didn't want to have it sent back because I needed to have it so I could hear. They would adjust it and it would be good for a couple of days and then I would come back again. I gave them the hearing aid a week ago Thursday. They said they were going to send it out with a rush and it would be back on Tuesday, but it wasn't. Then they said it would be back on Thursday, but it wasn't either. That’s been really annoying.
Beltone improved my life on the fact that I don't have to strain, which I didn't realize I was doing. I didn't realize that I had an issue even though my husband, for the last three years, has been telling me that I needed hearing aids. However, it's a double-edged sword. Once I've gotten the hearing aids and I've been able to hear and communicate better, it especially made having my business easier. Then when I don't have them anymore and have issues, it really bothers me. Overall, the people that are in the store here in Fort Lauderdale are terrific and Terry really bent over backwards to try to help me, though there was just so much she could do. It's disappointing that I've had quite a few problems with the set of hearing aids that I happen to have.

My experience with Beltone has been very good. I have a long standing relationship with them. When I bought my first pair of hearing aids from them, it was a husband and wife location. I had a test done back in the 70s because I had what I considered a hearing loss and she was exceptionally professional. I got to know the two over the years and bought hearing aids from them. I'm on my second or third pair, and I went with their top of the line products, whatever Jim recommended based on what's good for me as a patient. Beltone has come through with very professional people. I always get their cards and they want me to come in and have a hearing test. Also, Beltone is everywhere and that's a real plus.
Jim and Jennifer are great people. They try their best to help everybody, because their customers are in the lobby waiting and most people are apprehensive when it comes to talking about hearing aids because even though they can’t hear, they’re embarrassed to say that they have to have hearing aids and they’re in the right place. I’ve referred some business to Jim because he's a fine guy. He looks at the individual and he doesn’t argue with him. If people need hearing aids, he's the guy that they would want to see. The way they handle the conversations are exceptionally good and they're helpful. For most people, they’ll either go on the net or have a brochure and try to educate themselves, but they really need to go in and they need to talk to somebody like Jim and Jennifer.
It's very important to have good caliber people rather than somebody trying to sell something, like when I took my mother-in-law to another place which she eventually left because they were taking her down the hill. As time went on, she could not hear well and when I figured it was time for a test, my mother-in-law said her previous hearing aid place didn't ask her. That was the least that they could do for her. She decided that since I've been through so much with Beltone, we would have the same hearing aids for her. There was a test whether she could pick up a guy-girl conversation which comes out of a speaker a bit behind Jim, and when she was asked questions about the conversation she did better than I did. She was able to rephrase it and explain it to Jim. She was 86 and she was really sharp.
My mother-in-law was impressed in the fact that nobody tried to sell her anything. It was the fact that it was a proven technique that people realized it themselves. It’s rare. The proof is in the pudding. Also, it's good that Jim goes in for training once every one or two years and he said that some of the fellas that design and work on the hearing aids wear them. I compliment Beltone for doing that rather than buying it from China and going from there. The hearing aids have dramatically impacted the quality of my life because I deal with banks and I have to know what they’re saying. I deal with Board of Directors and officers of corporations and we get into technical and legal things, and I have to be able to hear team.

I went to Beltone, talked to the sales guy, and was impressed by his knowledge and his explanation of what was going on with my hearing. I got the most advanced hearing aid. I like being able to use the app to adjust the settings on the hearing aid and I like the button on the back of it that I can switch between presets on the go. I use that a lot. The hearing aids help me a bit in being able to hear conversations better especially with my family so it has a significant impact.
Beltone's staff was very friendly and knowledgeable and that’s really important to me. That really helped out a lot with going back periodically to improve the settings. I've had two or three appointments with their guy and he was able to tweak the hearing aids to work better each time I work with the sound settings button that eliminates things like the effects and noise. It has been a very good experience and I have recommended Beltone to a couple of people.

The app that comes with my Beltone hearing aids is awesome. It allows fine-tuning of the hearing aids' volume, and if I misplace them, the app also has a locator. The rep I dealt with was great and knowledgeable. She had a good understanding of my situation and made me feel very comfortable. They give excellent customer service. They have free cleaning, and they keep an eye on the ears, checking for any wax buildup. They also do frequent hearing tests to make sure that the product is still adjusted to what I need. My hearing aids have been great. My husband doesn't yell at me anymore, and they're helpful at work, too. It's been a great experience, and I'd recommend them to anyone.

I have had a high pitch deficit since age five due to meningitis and I only needed my high tones adjusted. It took many years for the technology to catch up. I had a pair of hearing aids but was looking for something that would allow me more flexibility, and that was actually Bluetooth. I did research online and went to a couple of local audiologists and researched Beltone’s options. I was quite pleased with the ability to have the Bluetooth without wearing a separate receiver. Even though technology has come a long way, when I wear something, I advertise that I've got a disability which I didn't want.
I trusted the audiologist that I was working with here in Evansville because I went in with a lot of questions and he was very capable in answering them.. His name is Drew and he allowed me to try the Beltone hearing aids for a week because of the expense, which was huge. I didn't want to jump into something and then regret. He was very knowledgeable and he gave me pricing options. I have since gone in for adjustments. He works with me through email. I tell him what's going on and prepare him for the adjustments as we go in. He'd normally have them almost pre-programmed before I sit down.
The ones that I have are Bluetooth to my iPhone. I'm able to adjust my surroundings in a noisy restaurant. I have the receiver to my TV so I can listen to programs with much greater clarity. It's a lot more control of any environment that I have. I truly appreciate the Beltone hearing aids' ability to allow me to engage in more conversations. They're lightweight and I had been used to the open-fit due to the previous brand that was not adjustable. With these, I adjust on the fly. I can quietly open my phone, adjust the bass and treble and change my surroundings. I can remove the nuisance noise of a restaurant and focus on the conversation of the friends I'm with, and that's a huge feature.
The ability to take a phone call using my Beltone hearing aids and have them in both ears so I can understand the person from my iPhone is also really helpful. I find that extremely helpful to understand when I can't see a person, because I lip-read a lot. By taking a phone call and being able to hear it in both ears helps my brain understand what they are saying.
The other brands were cheaper, but a lot of it has to do with the audiologist's knowledge and ability to adjust it to what I need. I wasn't that impressed with the other audiologists. However, the cost would have been better. I understand there's a similar brand at Costco's. I watched a gentleman adjust his hearing aid and asked him where he got them and he said he got them at Costco for half the price of what I got from Beltone, so that's a little concerning.
I've had hearing aids for a number of years so I know what comfort is like. I'm also a competitive cyclist, so when I'm outside, I needed to understand if I could reduce the wind noise. That was such a nuisance on regular hearing aids. In concerts, it’s a whole different environment with the echoing and general conversation, and then the ability to have clarity of TV. With Beltone I’m a lot more comfortable in many environments. Before, I would have to sit back and not really understand conversations, even with the devices then, because they weren't adjustable. I'm much more engaging and I understand quickly, even accent conversations which was a huge problem before. Leading technology has allowed me to be much more engaging in not only life but in conversations. It provides me to be more inclusive.

I've had hearing issues for years and I was looking around at the different alternatives, and the price range was right for Beltone versus everybody else so I thought I'd give them a try. The hearing care professional was more than helpful, takes time to explain everything and was right on the spot. When he made the molds for my hearing aids, he made them right because they fit me perfectly. So he's all around very good. The follow-ups with him were going good and I've got to go back to him again in about a month to touch bases with him. There are still some issues that I would like him to address but it's getting much better.
I got the hearing aid that's put inside of the ear and since having the hearing aid, it made an impact in my life. I'm starting to recondition my brain to hear what's being said versus trying to fill in the gaps, but at least now I'm not asking my wife to repeat herself anywhere near as much. Also, it's a very noisy environment where I work but I'm able to hear and understand the people there better.

I heard about Beltone Hearing Aids at work and so I went to their store. It worked, and I was happy with it unlike the ones I had before which didn't work well and I wasn't happy with them. Their staff was excellent. He seemed well-versed with what was going on and did a good job selling me the hearing aids that's why I bought them. I got the one that goes behind the ear with the tube and I can hear well with them. In follow-up appointments, there were a couple of little issues where one wasn't working and one hearing aid wouldn't connect to the Bluetooth on my wife's phone. He fine-tuned them a little bit and got that working. However, I'm disappointed that it doesn't connect with my Samsung Note. It only works with Apple and a couple of Samsung phones. But other than that, I had a good experience with them so far and I'm satisfied with it.

I had a hearing aide that rarely used, because the sound quality was not good. I decided to try a different brand. I tried 3 different hearing aids. All were the top and latest by the manufacturers. I found the Beltone sound was the best. But the most important factor on my decision were the people at the Beltone. I found Karen ** and Brook very caring. They were more interested in helping their customers than selling their product. I highly recommend them and their hearing aid and the service afterward.

I was looking around for hearing aids and I went to a couple of different places. I liked the audiologist I had at Beltone the best and I got the Legend hearing aids. The one who did the fitting took a lot more time than he did with most patients. He was really trying to hone in on where my issues were and pretty much tailored the initial visit and the initial programming with the actual hearing loss that he identified. I have 55% hearing loss and most of that is the high pitch tones. They mapped these hearing aids so that I can hear a lot of those high pitch tones.
I like the ability to use my hearing aids. They connect to the cell phone pretty easily so I can hear better on phone calls. I was having a lot of problems with cell phone calls and particularly conference calls with more than one person. But I can hear much better now. I go back to the same store every three months for a checkup, any adjustments, and any equipment needs. I usually have the same audiologist, but not always. All of the ones that I meet with are very personable, though. They care about making sure I’m completely satisfied before I leave the store. If there’s any adjustments or issues that I’m having between visits, they’re very accessible and I’m able to come in at any time. All I have to do is call and make an appointment. Beltone is the best choice I ever made.

Beltone is very good and stands behind their product. I've been with them for a number of years and my hearing aid is the second set with them. I've recommended them to others as well. Susan, their representative, was outstanding. She cared when she tested me because she was dealing with a 75-year-old man, my hearing was severe, and she corrected all the problems that I had in such a manner that is very pleasurable. When Susan is with another customer and I pop, the associates take care of me also. If I have concerns, I could just walk in and get serviced. They make you feel that they're really concerned about you as an individual. With Beltone, I am hearing pretty well. When I’m driving a car and there is a noise, my hearing aid really helps to cut that out.

This is my third set from Beltone and I really like 'em. The last set I got now has a hearing aid adjustment on it. I can adjust it louder or softer. I get used to 'em after a while. Since it's habit-forming, I have to have 'em. Soon as I get up, I usually put 'em in. Their rep's name is Pete and he's a pretty good audiologist. He checks my ears out real well. I'm really satisfied and I plan to stay with them till death do us part.

There was an advertisement in a paper that Beltone Hearing Aids was having free hearing tests. So, I called and got in. I got a hearing aid and then just recently, I became a BeltoneBlue. The one that I purchased was supposed to be much, much stronger than the first one that I purchased. We're going through getting that to work for me. My hearing problem came about by blowing out my inner ear while I was flying. So, it's a little bit different than hard of hearing because you're getting old. This is a little bit more in-depth problem than what usually happens when they go into the office and want a hearing aid. The rep has been working with me for three years now and we're getting it to the point where I can hear again.
I've known the Beltone name for years and I'm positive somebody in my extended family has had one because they've been around for quite a while. I've been in retail for a really long time and as far as I'm concerned, the only way that you can be in business for a length of time is to give good service and have a good product. Their rep has done everything I've asked him and more. He constantly says to me that if I have any trouble, to just call him and he'll get me in. He's very accommodating. I go in every three months and he checks out my hearing aids, cleans it out and checks if I have any problem. Although he treats everybody the same that comes in, I think that this is a little bit more of a challenge to him because of the way my hearing, or lack thereof, has happened. I don't think I've worked with anybody in the medical field that really cares about his customers. He just gets on top of everything.
This hearing aid has helped me a lot. As far as I'm concerned, I had no hearing in my left ear and it was frustrating for me and frustrating for everybody else for me to say, "I'm sorry, I missed that. What did you say?" I’m a people person and being able to hear better helps me with that. It's an awesome thing. You'll never know how much you’ll miss anything until you don’t have it.

I grew up in Florida and I was a lifeguard. I swam on teams, played sports, and I have one swimmer's ear, the bad ear that puts out an abundance of wax. The other ear has a slight loss in hearing. People were saying things to me and I didn't hear it. They'd get embarrassed because I wasn't answering. I've been losing my hearing and it got worse. Beltone had an ad that was talking about the new electronics so I went to find out as I wanted one that I could rely on and I hate to spend money on something that's not going to do.
Their price was reasonable. I've talked to their sales representatives and they told me that I'll never be able to hear in the bad ear, and I’ll only hear a sound if I put a hearing aid on it. I won't be able to find any difference. They were negative about trying a hearing aid but I went ahead and I was amazed at what I could hear. I've talked to a lot of people that had it and they were all satisfied and happy with Beltone that's why I went with them. I got the one where they made a mold for the inner part that went in the ear then the other one has the tip on the end of the ear.
I like the idea that I can go in at any time to talk to them and have it adjusted. And when I first got the hearing aids, they did a super job on trying to get the two ears as balanced as much as I could. It was great because I’d go in and then put up one and turn the other one down. They have it on record and they can pull mine up and what they did the last time to check it over, I think it's a terrific system that way. I'm really happy since I got these hearing aids. It is very good. I really enjoy going in there and sitting down and talking to him and explaining. My wife is getting evaluated and I think she's the next one to try to get the hearing aids as she's starting to lose it.
Now, I do a lot of woodworking and I take the hearing aids out because I don't want to wear those while I’m using the saw or some equipment. I also took the other one out and it got down to where I was very comfortable with the hearing. And then I got the sound to let me know my battery's going down. I really got the drop in hearing and realized that the ear was affected a lot more than I thought it was.
My only complaint was that the model has the 312 battery now and I have to replace those pretty frequently. The battery was 13, which they used to be. Now it's a 312 and a 13 is the same size. Looks just like it, except it's about half as thick as the old one. So, I assume it lasts a little longer. But I highly recommend it. I’m pretty much satisfied with the treatment I'm getting at Beltone.

Beltone's best hearing aids worked good because I can hardly hear without them - I don't have to say “what” all the time anymore. Except now, they're taken back to be rebuilt. I was having a problem with one and I decided to go back there and get it redone and they found something wrong with it, so we sent them both back. I haven't had any problem with the people and they do whatever needs to be done. I went on vacation in June and I had the problem in Tennessee and called them and they took me right in and fixed them down there.

I’ve been with Beltone for quite a while. I go to the one in Sylvania, Ohio and they have been great to me and any concerns I’ve ever had, they’ve immediately taken care of them. I had a little mishap and they had fixed it, no questions asked. So when I needed a stronger set, I went back to them. This second set is great because it uses bluetooth from my phone into my ears so I can hear people on the phone. I highly recommend Beltone. Absolutely fabulous and first class service and product.

I had a good experience with Beltone. They checked my ears and said that my nerve is starting to be damaged by my sugar levels as I’m a diabetic. They told me that I needed a hearing aid, so that’s why I decided to get one from them right away. I had no problem with the professionals who assisted me as they’re very nice people. The purchase is expensive but I try to manage because I need the hearing aid.
The last time I went to them, I was told me that with the situation of my hearing now, I need another kind of hearing aid. The rep said it’s a little smaller than what I have now but it’s expensive. I said I wish I could purchase that, but not right now because the first one is expensive already. It’s a very big problem financially but l have to purchase it whether I like it or not because I need it. If it were only $500, I could afford to change right away, but it’s more than $3,000. I’ve never been to another place and a lot of people say that hearing aids are expensive, so I don’t know if their price is recommendable to anyone.

My daughter was with me and she liked it too. She and the doctor were very thorough with their job. I like the hearing aids. The device is comfortable and I can hear with it. It has made my life better. The kids don't have to yell at me now. I am also able to hear the television even if it's not loud. The device also have buttons I push for different settings - home, noise, company, television. Plus the batteries last for about 5 days, just like what they told me.

I went for a check-up and the people at the Beltone office were telling me that they wanted to know what was going on because I couldn't hear them to even acknowledge a hello. I gave them an attitude and told them I was not buying another hearing aid. But by the time I walked out, I had two new hearing aids. They worked with my insurance and it was the same with all of my past financial things.
My experiences with their staff have always been very good. Both Eric and Peter are great people with a lot of knowledge and they are very empathetic towards any issues that I have. If I had problems, they would take care of me immediately. They told me too that if I needed anything at all, then all I have to do is call. I've been fitted many times and they've always taken their time and worked with me each time until we had it right.
I've lost a lot of hearing and it's progressively gotten worse each year. But everyone around me has said that I'm hearing better with my new hearing aids. With the Beltone Legend, I like being able to talk on the phone. I also like the Bluetooth capability, the controls and being able to turn it up and down. I'm still working on finding out some of the options I have such as the bass and the treble. There's a lot for me to learn. So far, it's been good and I'm very satisfied.

I got pretty good quality hearing aids from Beltone. It helps me hear better and I like that I can put it in my ear and others can hardly see it. The hearing aid specialist and her receptionist that I talked to were two excellent people. They took real good care of us and every time we have something come up, all we had to do is call and run over there and they’d take care of it. Recently, we sent one of the hearing aids back ‘cause it kept raising and lowering volume and she knew exactly what was wrong with it. We sent it in and in a week, I had it back and it's working great. Such a very fantastic experience.

At first, it seemed like I was having a lot of trouble hearing with it. I would have them in and my husband would talk to me. And he would check them and turn them up a little more. When he did that, I'm just hearing a little bit better. Then, I finally made an appointment with the doctor and he did some adjusting on them. And since then, I've been able to hear better. My husband got his hearing aid from a different company and we weren't satisfied with the way they sit with any adjustment he got when it went in. I haven't heard anything bad about Beltone and they were reasonably priced so we went with Beltone for my hearing aid. In the beginning, I didn't put them in and leave them in because the background noise was overwhelming. In January, the hearing care professional said to leave them in and that all of it will go away. He said that if I didn't, it would affect my ability to hear and understand words. He's always very polite and not condescending at all. Whenever I mentioned anything to him that I have a problem with or question, he's always got an answer that makes a difference.
I really like him and I'm comfortable with him. I'm 75 and those things mean quite a bit for somebody to look into you and hear you out. I've been a faithful Beltone user since. At first, it was not comfortable to use, but there's a drop that I can put on which relieves my ears and are very comfortable. The care professional wanted to see me three months after the trip in January to see how I was getting along and he was of course impressed that I was wearing them all the time. And I got a little more information than what I never had before. I can watch television with other people. I remember how hard it was to watch TV with my husband when he didn’t have hearing aids. And just being able to carry on a conversation in a group with people. It's nice being normal.

So he's working with them trying to figure on that a little bit more.
The guy named Eric was really good, nice and prompt. My father's ear holes are real big and the hearing aids he had wasn’t sitting tight so they would squeal all the time. I had known about Beltone for a long time, and when I started to lose my hearing, that’s where I chose to go because I felt like they were established and will stand behind their product. I compared them with Costco and they have better hearing aids. And the one that I have seems to be exclusive to Beltone and it’s very small, which was exactly what I wanted. My husband has his from Costco and I didn’t like the way they stood behind their merchandise so I went to Beltone. I paid a little bit more but it was worth it.
My hearing aid is a little tiny one that goes into your ear, and you can’t see it at all. I like the smallness and the way they fit. I also like that you can go back and they can be computerized to fit your needs. The Beltone rep was very nice and caring. They called and had me go in every now and then, just to check and see how everything was going. One time, he reprogrammed a little bit and re-tested my hearing just to make sure everything’s going okay. The only complaint that I have about them – and this is for any hearing aid – is the batteries don’t last very long. I’ve been needing hearing aids for a while and ignored it. I saw an ad about Beltone and it was a bit misleading, but I called them and set up a time for an interview. I went over and talked to a rep and the next thing I knew, he had me convinced that he could help me, and he did. I bought the hearing aids and have been wearing them ever since. I only take them out at night. They’re comfortable and they work well. Having the hearing aids has made it a bit easier in the household for everyone to talk to me. We also don’t have to have the TV up so high.
However, the battery life is only about five days. I would like to see the battery life to be considerably longer. I know other places sell batteries but I haven’t bought from them. I’ve stayed with the rep who sold me the hearing aids and I go back to him to get the batteries; therefore, I’m obligating him to make sure that I’m getting good service. On the other hand, if I keep batteries in the house, it’s all right. Overall, my experience with Beltone has been satisfying and I'm happy with it.

A Beltone rep has his office out on Shiloh. He had just opened it and I went out there that day and he did a test on me. He seemed to be so knowledgeable that I wanted the hearing aids that first day. Other hearing aids were cumbersome-looking, while mine is small in design but powerful in bringing in the sounds and is not intrusive at all. He told me what they can and can’t do. There was no pressure at all and that’s what made the difference. He has a good product in Beltone and he knows how to market it. He didn’t push things for his advantage. A very big issue here is when he sold me the hearing aid, he didn't go away. Anything that needs to be corrected is done immediately. If I get some adjustments like I’m not supposed to, he’s right there to take care of it. He believes in his product, keeps up with his customers and puts them ahead of anything else. I’ve been so satisfied with how he takes care of us.

I'm an outdoorsman here in Montana and my wolf-dog ate my previous hearing aid. Then I got a mailer in my mailbox from Beltone, and it was free to go in. I checked and tried out. Then I purchased the In-the-Ear hearing aids from them. I've had other hearing aids before but the ones from them and the service I got from Rodney were better. It was also half the price. I got mine for between $900 and $1,200. The follow-ups have been fantastic, and I have the card that they gave me. When I first got the hearing aids and I put it way in, it hit something that bothered me and Rodney took care of that. I had it fall out a couple of times also and he exchanged it for one that he worked on.
Rodney has a guy that makes appointments but also he gave me his personal phone number if I needed to get a hold of him. I don't have any trouble getting in. He immediately makes an appointment and follows through on everything that I've asked him to do. He even forwent his lunch hour one time to take care of me. He was very personal and I have recommended him to several friends. I sent a cowgirl over to him, and sometimes these redneck cow people don't relate well to any professional. However, she bought a full set of hearing aids and was very happy with them.
There's some disadvantage because I didn't buy the most expensive model he had. It's a little loud for me when on the phone but better loud than not being able to hear. But overall, it's been really good. I'm a canoeist, and if I wound up in the water, Rodney will take care of it. I used to take my previous hearing aid out and put it in something waterproof, and just be ultra careful. Now, I don't have to worry as much if I lose it or drowned it. Maybe the place that I used to get hearing aids has advanced to the point to where they could be cleaned up if they get wet. But in the old days, it wasn't that way.

I’ve worked around construction sites all my life. Sometimes in a crowded room, I don’t hear what everybody's saying. I still have to ask people to repeat, and since I’m getting older, I really can't complain about the hearing aids.
I paid over $7,000 for the hearing aids that I got, and I find that during the afternoon, they get less receptive, so I disconnect the batteries totally and leave them for ten minutes then put them back in and they seem to come up. I went down there last week and I told Joe, and he put them on a machine and checked them, and he readjusted them to my ears.
Sometimes I get bad batteries, and I told the man at the Beltone office, so he asked me to save some of the old batteries and put the dates when I got them and when they went dead, and he wants to have them tested. The hearing aids that I had before only got six days out of the batteries. This new hearing aid I got has better batteries and I like that I get twelve days out of them.

Another time or two, I had problems with its adjustment. When I called, they would bring me right in as quick as possible. One time, I shoved the item down in my ear too far. I didn’t know it at the time but it would hurt all night, so the next day I called them and they said, “Come right in and let me look.” They had to pull it out and then he proceeded to put the unit back where it wouldn’t come off again in my ears. With my Beltone hearing aid, I can definitely understand better. And people that I know very well know that. It’s still not easy and it’s not perfect, but it’s far better than it was. Today I asked for extra batteries and that the battery contacts in my hearing aids be cleaned, as I was going out of town tomorrow. Everywhere I went, I was in bad shape. I was being worst and worst. I went to Beltone and they got me to the point where I am hearing good and I am so thankful. I had adjustment problems because my hearing just left but I was doing marvelous and so better. When I went to their office, the people were kind. I fell in love with the receptionist. She greeted me and was so kind and sweet to me. Then when they were to give me the testing, it was amazing. The young man took care of me - play-by-play discussing what could happen, what would happen and the different things about it. I had no idea how to look at and see the inside of my ear, but they went so far as even to teach me how to clean it because I didn’t know.
So, I had gone back for cleaning my hearing aid to adjusting. If I had any problems, I just call and get an appointment and they adjust it. It was a wonderful experience. With all the insurance that I have, nobody would pay for hearing. My hearing is just as important or even more important than the heart condition or the cancer I had, so I cannot understand why the insurance companies do not pay for hearing aids. I am flabbergasted about that because I could not believe they’ll pay for a fruit thing but not hearing aids. They really need to go back to the table – the whole system about that. I was a miserable woman and a happy-go person. I loved my work and I raised all my seven children. A wife, grandmother, great grandmother – enjoying my life and then, boom! I can’t hear. I used Oticon before for at least four years which wasn't Bluetooth enabled yet. They were starting to age on me a bit so I said it was time to upgrade.
The Beltone hearing aids that I purchased are behind the ear with a little plastic thing that goes in the ear and Bluetooth enabled. I also like the functionality that allows me to adjust for different locations with my phone where if I’m in a noisy location, I could pull out my phone, hit one button and it curbs out all the background noise so it doesn’t drive me crazy. When I’m in a meeting where there are a lot of soft speakers, I could inconspicuously change the volumes very easily, which is very, very powerful.
The gentleman I currently work with is a really nice guy. They do the cleaning and the inspections on a regular basis. When I had a defective unit, they replaced it under warranty. I was very, very pleased with that. With the Beltone, I’m able to listen directly into my hearing aids and talk on the phone at the same time. I could literally multi-task.

Being able to hear a lot better has made it easier for me and for everyone else involved. I've heard about Beltone from people who had them over the years and they were satisfied. When they started to send me information about Beltone, I bought a set six years ago but then they weren't doing me as much good so I bought more advanced ones last October. I've been to the store four times since and I had different problems. At first I was a little disgusted with them because I would take them off the battery charger in the morning and go to change the program and it would only do it for one ear and not the other. They changed the batteries, then they sent the right one back to the company and replaced everything. They then started with the left one. We take it off the battery charger in the morning, it was dinging and it wouldn't stop until I pressed one of the programs which stopped it from dinging.
During my most recent visit, Beltone said that if changing the program and what they have done didn't take care of it, they would order me a new set. They then took everything apart and did all that they could. I did have a three-year warranty so if I have any more problems I will insist that they send me new ones. It's expensive but it's like an buying an automobile - one buys thinking that everything was gonna be okay and sometimes one gets a lemon.

My insurance recommended Beltone Hearing Aids so I went with them over other hearing aid providers. The insurance did not pay anything but it got us a discount for that. I got the CIC Legend. They're better and smaller. The ones that I had before were older style and doesn’t have any features. But with Beltone I am able to change the different settings. Also, the cost and quality is better because my previous ones were out of bells and they were not of very good quality. They were shown in TV ads as good quality but they were not. The hearing care professional that fit me for my hearing aid was very nice and professional. I’ve gone back a couple of times to get them adjusted and I get a free battery set up with them. So every month I got to have new batteries. I'm satisfied with them and would recommend them.

Beltone was right across the street going to the post office. I went in and felt sorry I did - I was having bad luck ever since. I got them because I needed hearing aids and they were there and they were handy, and I’ve heard before that they were pretty good. However, I don’t like the service I got. It’s really terrible. They ran me around like “Come out here tomorrow,” “Try this out for tomorrow,” “Try this until the next day,” “Wear them for a week,” or this and that.
Also, I only use the hearing aids in the evening when I have to because they’re very uncomfortable. I just don’t like them. Beltone just couldn’t seem to figure out a decent way to make the hearing aids to where they would fit and stay in the ear. They’ve come up with all kinds of different little pieces. What they got now are great big ol’ hunks of plastic hanging on the end that cover my whole ear. I’m not satisfied with them and I will not recommend Beltone to anybody. I want to go check someplace else and maybe find something that I like.

The guy who did the fitting on me was excellent. My life's improved and I can hear. But now that I’m coming up to a year with them, I’m having more hearing problems, like one’s not working so I’m going to get an appointment, go back to see their guy, and discuss it with him.

My husband has had hearing loss since he was four and all of his past hearing aids were from Beltone. He had switched to another company for some other digital hearing aids that he was not happy with and we decided to come back to Beltone where the cost and quality are much better than other brands. He purchased a super-small digital, one of the newer models, that's very powerful and has a little Bluetooth microphone that goes with it.
The personnel who fitted my husband with his hearing aids was wonderful, very knowledgeable and patient. I'm a speech pathologist so I loved how she was able to explain everything and in a way dumbed it down for him. The way she spoke was very articulate and slow-paced so that my husband could pretty much understand everything that she was saying. Since the purchase, we've gone back a couple of times to get some other readjustments and batteries. We've established a good relationship. The hearing aid has its quirks, but my husband can hear a lot better now. He's also a drummer, so he's able to hear more frequencies and this helps him a lot better. He loves being able to adjust his hearing aid using an application and I love the microphone because I don't have to be yelling.

It's opened my eyes to what I had been missing for several years. And in fact, I'll go in to see Bob today for an adjustment on some of the tones that he was trying to cut down on - whenever I would listen to some people, I was getting a whistling noise and then if I try to ride down the road with the window down on one of my trucks, I was getting a bad roar. I called Beltone and told them what the story was and they said we'd have to deal with it when we get back to Waterville.
I'm dealing with somebody new now and I had trouble with him for quite some time. I liked the girl that I originally talked to, but she's no longer there. The original lady and the new people are very nice, but I'd been very unhappy with them because we haven't been able to resolve a problem or two and I've thought about sending the hearing aids back to them and getting a different kind. My old one is doing a good job for me and somewhat better that the new ones. I had them reconditioned and have been using them for the last four or five months now because I'm in Florida and there's nobody to deal with here. The problem could be resolved if we have a technician work them over a little bit. Overall, there's a little bit of dissatisfaction with my experience, but their intentions are good.

I can hear distinctly since I started using the hearing aids and I still get my batteries. I really like the adjustment that I can make with the three different positions to push it into. If I’m in my own home and there are just two people talking, I don’t need it up loud. If I’m in a room where there are a lot of people, I can reduce the background noise so it won’t interfere me from hearing somebody that I’m close to. Overall, I’m very satisfied.

Their salesman, together with other people, told us about them, and so we bought the one that sits on the back of her ear and has this little thing that goes inside of her ear. We also went back and got this Bluetooth device that she wears that can answer her phone, and she likes it. Most of the time, it works good. My wife knows what's going on now. I don't have to holler at her all the time. My little grandson was over here one day and wondering why I was hollering his granny. And I told him that's the only way I can get his granny to hear and he got a little upset about that. But, now, we communicate. Beltone is effective, and it probably saved the marriage. I knew I could get service there and they're so good I can get it right away at any time of the day on any day of the week that I have a problem. I can walk in. The receptionist is fantastic and the service is excellent. I have their top of the line product, the Legend 17. I don’t have to listen to people yell at me anymore. They have different settings that I can use. I like the fact that I can set them for different situations like going to church or to a restaurant.
This is an ongoing type of a hearing aid. There are other things that it can do for me. For instance, I could even answer cell phones with them. They're Bluetooth. The other thing is that over a period of time I don’t have to keep buying new hearing aids. They can put new components in them and bring them right up to date. I've attended a couple of Beltone's functions because I learn something every time I go. They're exceedingly helpful.

This purchase put a hole in my bank account. I felt like falling off a chair when they quoted $6,000 to me. Because of Beltone's reputation for so many years and the fact that I used to work for them when I was going through college in Chicago and have repaired some of their units way back in the early '50s made us decide to choose them over other hearing aid providers. My wife has one that goes around the ear and then we bought a transmitter, which we haven't used yet, that could increase or decrease the volume.
The guy who sold us the hearing aids told us that they will provide us with a lifetime guarantee. Now I needed one of them looked at and possibly replaced. Beltone took care of us since it was within the year period that we purchased it, but they told us that they never heard of a lifetime guarantee. I had spoken to a supervisor after that and she told me that the guy was fired and they will take care of us. They will give us a three-year warranty instead. I told her that the guy who sold it to us said that it was a lifetime, and she said that they will honor it since he told us that.
The guy also said that they will give us lifetime batteries, but when I told it to the lady in Matthews months later, she denied it vehemently. After three or four minutes, she threw some batteries at me and I had to pick it up from the floor. There was a nice guy from downtown at Carolina Place Mall in Charlotte and gave us some batteries when we needed it. But any new employee or even other Beltone employee would deny anything like that. The lifetime batteries was one of the reasons we purchased the Beltone, but the guy no longer works for the company so it was a short lifetime.

But they're smaller and take more batteries for that reason. The rep was very kind and good, and recommended the kind of hearing aid that fills the ear, but I had the ones that have a plastic line with the hearing that doesn't take up so much space in the ear. I'm 73 years old and I can't hear like I once could. It's very frightening to be without my hearing. I was walking across a parking lot and I didn't hear this car. The lady backed into me and it scared me to death. The next day I walked into Beltone and got a hearing aid. I didn't feel intimidated in any way in that office. They were so pleasant, helpful and understanding because I knew I was talking way louder than I should be. I enjoyed working with them. When I got the hearing aid, I walked out of the building and there's a lot of traffic on that particular road. The noise about leveled me. The next time I went in for a check, they did a lot of adjustments to try to bring the noise level down and that worked for a good while.
Once all the adjustments were made, I didn't feel dumb like I did when I couldn't hear anything. I felt like a new person. The first time I was in the market there was a young lady that worked there that I talked to frequently, and she was six feet away or so from me. In the past, if someone had said, “Hey, how are you?” I wouldn’t have heard it. But I heard her say, “How are you?” and I was just thrilled to my toenails. It was like being rejuvenated! I can't talk on the phone though with it on.
So I want to tell everyone, don’t waste time before you get your hearing checked because you lose ground so fast. If I had moved earlier to get hearing devices, my hearing might be better than it was. I know that my hearing is not ever going to be perfect even with a good hearing aid. But overall, I'm happy with what I have.

They provide good service and advice when I’ve got an adjustment that I have to make personally. The man who helps me with my unit is excellent. I’ve never had a bad experience with him. The Beltone hearing aid has helped me. This is my second time around with them. Before, I had the one that's inside the ear and now I have the model that goes over the top. I like this certain type better than the other one because it doesn't clog my ear as much. Their hearing care professional has also adjusted my hearing aid a couple of times. Mine has three adjustments and he adjusted them on the third setting about a week or two ago.

I heard about Beltone from a friend, and they were so satisfied that I thought I'd try it. The hearing care professional that fit me with the hearing aid was helpful in the testing. I like the fact that they actually had words to test me with instead of just a bell. The lady at the store where I got them was especially helpful. I walk with a walker so it's hard for me to get around, and she even came out to the car one time to check them. There are so many people with hearing losses, and with Beltone I'm able to hear things that other people don't seem to hear. However, it can be tedious to put the hearing aid in because it's small.

He's a young and friendly man who takes care of whatever problem I have when I go there. So then I went with a local here in Peru, a hearing aid woman who was very pleasant. But again, I was getting no satisfaction. I went through two with her. Then I saw the ad for Beltone. I had spent $6000 for two hearing aids that I’m wearing now. I go and have it cleaned. I’ve had it go out twice, one on each ear, and they had to replace the line that comes from the heavy part that goes into the ear. I’m good until this March. If it goes out, it will cost me $50 or $100, and that I’m not real pleased with. But I’m completely deaf without it. I've had the best experience with Beltone. When I went to get a hearing aid, I went to somebody else first. And I was very happy when I found out that we had a Beltone over here, and when I went to them, I did not take the hearing aids from the other place. I asked for the contract from the other place but they wouldn't give it to me. They said it's against the law. And I said, "I just can't read it and make a decision." But Beltone said, "Take it, go ahead and study it. Compare it against whatever you want." That made me very comfortable. The service I get there is fantastic. Even when the representative is not in, the person that's there is very professional. I like the fact that I could press the button and change it to four different settings. One is for crowds. I like to go to concerts a lot and sometimes when I switch it into the concert, I can hear everything perfectly. And with the machine, you do for one and it works for both ears.
One problem I've had was that there was no Beltone when we were around Venice in Florida. One of my hearing aids seemed to be dead and when I came home, I went in to the Beltone that I use here, and nothing was wrong with my hearing aid except that it was dirty. Everything was fine. I thought I had cleaned it and I thought it was my ears, but it was the machine. Another problem is the price of the hearing aid and that there is no coverage for it. But I couldn't be happier with the Beltone that I use.

Before I made a decision, he even sent me home for about a week with a pair of hearing aids to test.
Since I purchased the hearing aids he has always been available to answer questions, make adjustments and accommodate whatever I need. He's truly great at what he does and when I stop in I really do feel like I'm visiting a friend. Unfortunately, things are going so well with them that I haven't seen him in a while! The hearing aids themselves have been no less amazing. They have truly changed my life while at the same time being invisible (and that was a big deal to me)! And it gets better. They are compatible with my iPhone so not only am I able to use them as a Bluetooth for phone calls, but I'm also able to control the volume any time I want. And let's not forget the free batteries for life from Beltone. Between Mark, his office staff, Beltone, and the hearing aids, I simply can't imagine what more anyone could possibly hope for if they're experiencing hearing loss. 5 minutes after walking into the office you'll see exactly what I mean. I bought Beltone a few years ago and had the benefit of an excellent programming and considerate, helpful treatment. I was so pleased with the results. I bought a 3rd aid as a spare, since I am profoundly impaired and would be nonfunctional if one aid needed repair. I went in January 2015 to resolve a feedback issue and found they had changed staff. Sadly, the new man had almost no proficiency in programming. Ran a anti-feedback program that DESTROYED my ability to understand speech. He was unable to restore my prior settings and I am now living in a world where everyone sounds like Donald Duck gargling.
The dispenser was incompetent and impatient. I reached out to the corporate office and got absolutely no help. They were going to "look into it," but did nothing. The location I am dealing with is Canton, NY, operated by the same people as Watertown, NY. Their lack of concern for the quality of life consequences that go along with programming is unconscionable. I made an appointment and met with Bob **, who tested the piece and did not note any issues. Few days later my mom continued to insist that she can't hear well even when wearing the aid. I finally tested it myself and noted that it wasn't working. I took it back and was told that it needs repair and it will cost $400 as the piece is no longer under the 1 year warranty. Two weeks later the piece was mailed to my home ensuring me that it was fixed. Before I mailed it out to my mom I decided to test it myself, just to be sure, and I noted that it was still not working.
I try to be understanding that mistakes happen. However, from the very beginning every interaction with Beltone specialists has been a dissatisfying experience that led to no resolution of any of the problems we had. Beside paying $400 for the repair and not getting the piece fixed, I was never told what the problem was and if it was a defect with the piece from the very beginning. Last week, my mom told me that her other piece stopped working as well. This is only 1.5 years after purchasing an aid that is suppose to last a lifetime. I can't express enough how disappointing it has been to see Beltone take advantage of people who are just looking to improve their lives and the lives of the people around them. I should have done more research before going with Beltone. I am VERY Mad! I read an advertisement in the paper and read that retirees could get hearing aids for $895. I am in very big need of them and have been for at least 20 years. I am 66 years old and live on social security. I was advised that my wife go to the hearing test with me which was Friday 10-20-15. The man talking about the hearing test results and explaining them to me seemed very knowledgeable. Right off the bat I was told that I misunderstood the newspaper ad which according to him read that government job retirees could get aids for $895. He was a very slick salesman and convinced me that I needed a more sophisticated hearing aid that had "16 Channels" and was much more able to be programmed to fit/address my individual need and area of hearing loss. He said that the cost was over $6,000, but that today he'd give them to me for $3115 and that I could get them for only $72 a month for 4 years.
My wife was excited that I could finally get hearing aids and I wanted her to be happy about me being able to hear things she says. I was fast talked into the $3115 aids. Naturally I wanted the best. I was talked into buying aids that I knew I couldn't afford. I was caught up in the moment. I signed the agreement without reading it at 1:30 yesterday 10-30-15. I left and went home and I felt like I was a victim of a fast talking salesman who, by the way, was an expert salesman from Michigan and only here for a couple days. I sat there regretting that I committed to be $3115 set of aids. I told that salesman that I had been talking to my V.A. about getting aids for free and he told me most people are not happy with what they get from the V.A.
I was very upset sitting there at home at 3:00- 4:30 p.m. knowing I had been slick talked into something I could not afford. So, I called them within 3 1/2 hours from my signing of the agreement. I told that I wanted to void the agreement and get back my $334 deposit. The woman said she had already contacted the factory and that aids for me had already been programmed and was in the mail and because of that I could not get a refund. So, I guess I am fast talked into a deal I can't afford and not going to get my $344 deposit back.
I don't believe that in 3 1/2 hours the factory was contacted, programmed them to fit my need, and got them in the mail to where they could not stop the mailing! I believe I was lied to. I told the woman on the phone I would be in the court house Monday morning at 9:00 a.m. to file a small claim against Beltone. And I will. Shame on Beltone for preying on seniors and taking advantage of their being anxious to hear.

I've been wearing hearing aids for 40 years and I've had upgrades and replacements in them, but none of these have provided the improvement that Beltone provided me. It's working very well and I'm very impressed. The hearing care professional who fit my hearing aid was very helpful and friendly. When I failed to clean my hearing aid well enough and one of them quit working, he cleaned it for me and got it working again.

I got my hearing aids from Beltone and they're all right. They seem to readjust themselves and they do it on their own and then I can just turn it up on that, but it doesn’t seem to hold. I told the guy there my problem. He said he’s gonna send it in and then the hearing aids go back and then he just tries to adjust it. He keeps saying that’s he’d try to send it in or something but I just get tired of having to go back - I’m a 67-year-old and had a bout with uterine cancer. He just wants me to keep coming back but he never bothers to send it in and I don’t know if there’s anything they can do if they do send it in.
I’m satisfied with it but when he keeps saying “we’re gonna send them back,” and then every time I go back, it's the same problem. I just couldn’t hear on the phone but I could hear with my other ones I had. But, I go back and tell him the same thing over and over, and he just makes an adjustment, but then it changes itself. I’ve had them probably going on a year now and I’m going back almost every three to four weeks. And where they are, I got to walk up a flight of stairs or go through another to get up the elevator, and I’m not up to doing that right now. I have a problem with my hips that another doctor messed up.

I got my Beltone hearing aid seven years ago because of a coupon I got through the mail. Wendell, the hearing care professional here in Cleveland, Tennessee, did a wonderful job in fitting me up with the top-of-the-line hearing aid. Then I bought another set, a new top-of-the-line, about six months ago. I'd recommend Beltone. I even took my sister over to them and she bought a set. I made a commercial for them last year.

None of the hearing aids are perfect but Beltone does a decent job. I purchased an over-ear aid from them because it was convenient. I've always had good experience with them. During my follow-up visits, they've always been very accommodating and did as good a job as I would expect them to do. All of them have treated me very satisfactory. In the spring of this year, they offered me a free pack of batteries if I make a ten-second video and give them a recommendation. I did that and I assume they put that on their website. Beltone is an excellent and well-managed company. The only negative about it is that it's doggone expensive.

My Beltone hearing aid has made me hear a lot better. I've had it for about three years now. I have a little problem with my hearing now and then, like I can hear some people's voices well, but sometimes it's hard for me to figure out what some ladies with soft voices or people of another nationality are saying. I got Beltone because they have a good warranty and I like their maintenance program. If I have any problem, I can call them and they get to it as soon as they can, and oftentimes it only takes a day or two. I got the style that has a remote control with it. You can turn it up or down or knock out the background noise, like when you're going into a restaurant, and I enjoy that.
The lady hearing specialist who helped me fit my hearing aid was good. She wore hearing aids and was the one who told me about the type of hearing aid that I've got now. She left the hearing aid with me on a Friday, so I got to use it over the weekend and bring it back Monday or Tuesday. She went through everything with me and told me what I ought to do with it, about turning the volume up or down and knocking the background noise out. Afterwards, I had I go back every three months to get the follow-up and they clean the hearing aid.

Beltone was great. My mother had one and she seemed to be satisfied with it, so I tried out for myself. I purchased a single hearing aid and I like controlling it with my iPhone. The hearing care professional who helped me was really good. He knew what he was doing, knew he could help me, and showed me exactly what was wrong with my hearing. He hand-drawn me some charts to show the curvature of my hearing loss and how he would change the hearing aid to fit that. He wanted me to come back to check to see how it's getting along.
The hearing aid did not change my actions in public, but it simplified life a bit because I didn't have trouble understanding people anymore. I could hear, but I couldn't understand what they were saying sometimes. One way that it simplified things is that I don't have to try to figure out, "What was he saying? What was she saying?" I don't have to do that anymore.

I have worn hearing aids the majority of my adult life and have never been this dissatisfied with an audiologist ever! First, I went to get a hearing screening because I had not had one in a while. Upon "cleaning" my current hearing aids they broke my one and gave me one of theirs as a replacement. They had no idea how to program their own product. It has the worst sound ever. All I can hear is static.
Second, they then tried to sell me new hearing aids at a grand total of nearly $10,000. They let me try a demo pair and between 2 audiologists could not program them correctly. The sound was awful and metallic! I am dreading to see what they mess up on my current hearing aids. Needless to say I will get my current hearing aid, a copy of my newest audiogram as well as my charts and I will never go back! I have read these reviews over and over again and the common theme that I see is dissatisfaction in the aids and dispenser. My mother wears Beltone aids which she purchased over a year ago and I don't think that there is any amount of money that she would take for them. She is so completely and utterly satisfied with the performance of her aids and the care of her dispenser. As her son I wanted to make sure that she got the best aids she could afford because she has a very, very active lifestyle and I knew based on information that I read that level of technology made a big difference in the performance of the aids. I was also very concerned that about who she would see so I did a lot of research comparing audiologists to hearing aid specialists. The only difference that I found, the hearing aid specialist was far more knowledgeable about hearing aids than the audiologist was. In fact, it takes 7 years to get a degree in audiology and in that 7 years there is very little training, if any, about hearing aids, hearing aid functionality and basic maintenance and programming. So the conclusion that I made was to go to someone that is more concerned with what can be done to help and one that knew how to help.
I would gather that most of these complaints of poor performance could be directly blamed on the person programming the aids. He/She set the expectation to high, he/she is not up to date on the software, he/she was not properly trained by their mentor or he/she doesn't listen to the patient. When we went to the evaluation, the hearing instrument specialist gave a very thorough exam. My father, who got his hearing aids from an audiologist, commented that his exam did not cover half of the stuff that mom's did. The specialist took time to listen to the concerns that we had about mom's hearing. After the evaluation was complete, he took great care and recommended a few different selections and ultimately stated "you need hearing aids in order to enjoy your life the best that you can, but what you get and where you get them is up to you". He took himself out of the picture and focused on mom. I didn't see the "slick salesman" that everyone is complaining about. I haven't experienced a lack of compassion. I haven't seen one instance where I didn't believe that the specialist had our best interest in mind. All I can say is form your own opinion before writing off Beltone. They haven't been around for 75 years by accident.

We can say that sometimes they worked 'okay'. But this was unpredictable. The hearing specialist was very nice to my mother and tried his best, repeatedly, to fit her properly. When she became disabled he made house calls, which was very appreciated. The family does not believe it was a lack of expertise on his part that prevented my mother from ever having, let's say, marginal hearing. The aids themselves were very difficult to put in, needed many adjustments, and buzzed at times even when new batteries (always free, a plus) were inserted. These devices have come a long way but are far from perfected. I just purchased an amplifier through Amazon for $80.00 including 50 batteries. This may be a waste of money too but much less of a monetary loss. Some people may have had better luck with their hearing aides than the experience my mother has had.

I simply wanted to find out if I had a hearing issue. Testing was completed in a non-secure quiet booth. I sat across the desk from the indicated audiologist with buds in my ears, attached to what I found out later, was the highest quality hearing aid they sell. Interesting that a hearing aid was used to do the testing??? The testing was no longer completed, the pressure to purchase a hearing aid was begun. I was presented with the highest priced aid ever. All I wanted to know is if I had a problem and then see how to resolve it.
I informed the audiologist that I did not have large amounts of money and any kind of expensive purchase would not be possible. He then went into credit card means of purchase. I told them, "No, I cannot afford any more debt." He worked it down to $20 a month and I gave in to the pressure. My insurance would cover the rest. I did not feel comfortable over this and I communicated so. He kept the pressure on about how I wold be hearing better and I needed this, etc., etc., etc. Several days later, I was presented with my new hearing aids. I wore them for several days. The ear buds kept coming out; I kept hearing my glasses scratching the ear piece. I just did not like what was happening. I called to see what the return policy was. He was not happy and said he could fix the issues.
When I got to the office, I informed the audiologist that I did not want the product and he told me I had thirty days to return them. That he would fix the issues at hand and I could wear them the rest of the thirty days. I told him No, I am returning them and I was leaving town for about a week and that I was sure the thirty days would be passed by the time I got back and I would be stuck with the purchase, so therefore, I was returning them now. He agreed to take them back. Several days later, I received a call saying he had found a refurbished pair at less cost and they would be FREE. Well, in his eyes anyway, free because the cost would be covered by my insurance. He again pressured me into agreeing to try them.
When they arrived, I told the audiologist that I was going to seek a second opinion... He did not appear happy about that but asked me to call him when this was completed. When he called me back, I informed him that I was not going to make any purchase at this time and he then began to all but threaten me about how I now owe $200 per device for returning them as it was in the contract I signed. When I asked why is this coming up now and not when I returned the product, he simply said I signed the contract and I owe or purchase the refurbished aids as they were Free and no additional fees would be charged to me.
Read any contract from beginning to end before you sign. Lesson learned, AGAIN! I then get a letter from him after I hung up on him saying I was not paying a dime. Other promises were made that were not followed through on. Testing was a joke, in my terms, what they say and how they operate if a joke and opposite. Extreme High Pressure Sales tactics. Buyer Beware! I have since written a response to the audiologist indicating that I had a second opinion and results were different from what he had found and that I am considering a third opinion and that no purchase of any kind from any provider was being considered at this time.

Went back had them adjusted and as time went on, same thing again. Called and asked for a refund because I was not satisfied with the performance. I was told I could not get a refund because 30 days had passed, very cold and uncaringly. They gave $1,500 for my old one, insurance paid $1,000, out of pocket cost $2,700. Total cost for hearing aids that do not work properly, a whopping $6,200! Will never enter another Beltone store.

First off the folks I've dealt with at my local Beltone have been polite and I believe they have tried to help. Have not had the complaints you see here about rudeness; hanging up the phone, etc. Received new HA about a yr. ago. 3-4 months after I received it, the HA died. Had to send it off for repair. Took about 10 days. I've visited the HA center a number of times for adjustment. In the office where it's very quiet, all seems to go well. Once outside the office, things are usually back to where they were before. I detect volume, but do not always understand the words being spoken.
I was told that in the one ear that still works (deaf in left ear), that I have only 80% efficiency in that ear. Efficiency is my word - forget the exact term. I've had one other hearing aid and had the same complaint about it - pumps up the volume, but doesn't help much with clarity. Lastly, just about all of the free HA batteries they've given me go bad 10-20 mins after I insert a new one. I do not have a very high opinion of hearing aids. For me they improve everything sound-wise except the human voice. I noticed this years ago with analog HAs. Was told that digital HAs were better. I disagree. My next HA will likely not be a Beltone; then again, what would be better?

On July 9, 2013, I was tested in Ypsilanti, MI for a hearing aid. After choosing the type of aid, I was quoted a price of $3498.00, and was told by John ** that my portion of the cost was only about $900.00. On my next visit, I was told that my portion was $1998.00 which I paid. On a follow up visit in Dec. 2013, I was told that an additional $171.87 was also due. I was never given an explanation as to why my fees went from $900 to $$1198.00. Needless to say, I'm very unhappy with their very misleading quotes.

My problem was that I could hear but could not understand what was being said either on television or being in a conversation with a person sitting a couple of feet away from me. I purchased two hearing aids from Beltone in Spring, Texas, for $2,300.00 immediately after my hearing was "tested" by a Beltone audiologist. That audiologist assured me that the test would scientifically indicate the proper unit to solve my hearing problem. After receiving the aids and wearing them awhile, I realized that I could hear people talking but still could not determine what was being said. As the aid's sound could be increased with a touch of a button in the aid, I adjusted mine accordingly. That procedure simply made conversations louder but not to the extent that I could hear the words being spoken. I thereafter purchased a "speaker system" for about $24.95 and hooked it up to my TV and finally I could make out what was being spoken.
It was at that time that I realized that the Beltone hearing aid was nothing more than a "speaker system" WITHOUT the ability to properly tune in what was being said and the so-called "audiology testing" was nothing more than a sham. All in all, my speaker system proved the better value. In addition, I found that the Beltone hearing aids have a habit of just popping out of my ears. The first one popped out and was stepped on by a person who had not witnessed the unit on the floor. I was made aware of the problem only after I discovered the aid was no longer in my ear. That aid was lost to me. The second aid popped out of my ear while in my kitchen, but, thankfully, my wife saw it happen and immediately picked it up off the floor.
When I reported this to the Beltone people, they reported that the units are known to pop out of one's ear and that is why they sell the same unit but with a protective piece that fits on each aid. I asked the Beltone people why didn't they advise me of that problem and they just shook their head and informed me that I could buy a replacement aid for another $195.00. I told them I had already given them $2,300.00 and would not think of giving them an additional $195.00 every time one or both of the aids decided to pop out of my ear and get lost. I am in the process of suing the Beltone office in small claims court in Harris County, Texas.

I live in Conroe, Texas. I'm old and retired. I need hearing aids and wanted to get good ones, ha ha ha ha. I tried to get Beltone hearing aids. They gave me the hearing test over 8 months ago, and wrote up an order. I still have not got the hearing aids. The manager will not call me and talk about the problem. I called again and the person who answered the phone hung up on me. They are rude, and very unbusinesslike and I would not recommend them to anyone. I'm still waiting for them to contact my insurance and cancel the claim. OVER 8 MONTHS?
