What is Fridays?

Fridays is a subscription-based weight loss program offering personalized, medically guided care for adults seeking sustainable weight loss. It combines clinical oversight with prescription medications, holistic care and behavior changes. Fridays’ members receive a tailored care plan that includes telehealth consults, lab work, regular check-ins and 24/7 messaging access to a clinical team.

The company emphasizes long-term results through a comprehensive approach addressing multiple factors affecting metabolic health, such as sleep and stress.

How does Fridays work?

Fridays offers a subscription-based weight loss program that combines clinical oversight with personalized care. Here's how it works:

  1. Sign-up: Members create an account and complete an intake form.
  2. Provider consult: A virtual consultation with a health care provider is scheduled to assess your needs and prescribe medications.
  3. Prescription fulfillment: Fridays offers two options for filling medication prescriptions.
    • Compounded medications (e.g., compounded semaglutide, tirzepatide): These are shipped directly to members' addresses from accredited compounding pharmacies
    • Branded medications (e.g., Mounjaro, Wegovy, Ozempic): You can choose branded medications, but the cost is not included in the subscription fee. You’ll need to pick up your prescription at a local pharmacy of your choice.
  4. Ongoing care: Members receive health coaching, regular check-ins and 24/7 access to the care team via messaging. Lab work and medication refills are also handled through the Fridays online portal.
  5. Membership and cancellation: Fridays offers monthly or three-month subscription plans. Members can cancel at any time.

Fridays weight loss programs

In addition to medication, Fridays’ weight loss program offers ongoing support, including:

  • Accountability coaching
  • Dietitian visits
  • Insurance management
  • Mental health counseling
  • Video visits with a provider
  • Weekly support groups
  • Zoom-based fitness classes

You can monitor your progress through the company’s app. Fridays also offers an optional meal prep add-on for an additional cost.

Fridays weight loss medications

While Fridays does allow you to choose branded medications like Wegovy and Ozempic, it primarily focuses on compounded GLP-1 medications.

Compounded medications

Compounded medications are available across the United States, except in Louisiana. Here’s an overview of the available compounded medications:

  • Compounded tirzepatide: Tirzepatide is a GLP-1 receptor agonist that helps regulate blood sugar and reduce appetite. Fridays offers compounded tirzepatide as part of its weight-loss program. This medication is injected once weekly and can be an effective alternative for those seeking a treatment option similar to the brand-name Mounjaro or Zepbound.
  • Compounded semaglutide: Semaglutide is another GLP-1 receptor agonist commonly used for weight loss. The compounded version offered by Fridays provides the same benefits as branded medications like Wegovy and Ozempic but at a potentially more accessible cost. Like tirzepatide, it helps control blood sugar and suppress appetite.

These compounded GLP-1 medications are designed to be self-administered via subcutaneous injections once a week. The injections can be administered in the stomach, thigh or upper arm, making the treatment process convenient for home use. Fridays Health offers guidance and support on how to properly administer these medications, ensuring that users feel confident in managing their treatment.

Branded medications

Fridays also provides prescriptions for branded medications, but the cost is not included in its subscription service. You’ll also have to pick the medication up from your local pharmacy. Here are the branded medication options:

  • Wegovy (semaglutide): Wegovy is an FDA-approved GLP-1 medication used to help with weight loss by reducing appetite and food intake. It works by mimicking a natural hormone that regulates blood sugar and appetite, leading to improved satiety and weight reduction over time.
  • Ozempic (semaglutide): Ozempic is another FDA-approved GLP-1 medication, primarily prescribed for managing Type 2 diabetes. However, it has also been shown to assist in weight loss by improving insulin sensitivity and decreasing hunger.
  • Mounjaro (tirzepatide): Mounjaro is a newer GLP-1 medication that targets both GLP-1 and GIP receptors to help regulate blood sugar levels and aid in weight loss. It has shown significant results in reducing body weight and improving metabolic health.
  • Saxenda (liraglutide): Saxenda is an FDA-approved GLP-1 medication for weight management. It works by promoting feelings of fullness and reducing hunger, which helps individuals eat less and lose weight.
  • Trulicity (dulaglutide): Trulicity is primarily used to manage Type 2 diabetes but has been shown to help with weight loss due to its ability to slow gastric emptying and regulate blood sugar. It helps decrease appetite and improve glucose control.
  • Victoza (liraglutide): Victoza is similar to Saxenda and is used to control blood sugar levels in Type 2 diabetes. It also promotes weight loss by slowing gastric emptying, thus making you feel fuller longer.
  • Rybelsus (semaglutide): Rybelsus is an oral version of semaglutide, primarily used for managing Type 2 diabetes. Like its injectable counterpart, it helps with weight loss by reducing hunger and improving insulin sensitivity.

Fridays cost

Fridays offers two subscription plans that cover the costs of compounded medications. If you choose branded medication, the cost will not be included in your subscription fee:

They did not honor what they promised before signing up, then lied about it. Strung me along when I requested resolution.

I have used compound Semaglutide with another company on two separate occasions prior to starting with Fridays. My last experiences were great. Started losing weight at a low dose (10 units) and progressively lost more as I increased. After taking a year off, I started with Fridays assuming I would get the same results....Couldn't be farther from the truth. I'm on month 3 (paid for 4) and I haven't lost anything. Food noise and regular hunger still there despite my medicine strength being "increased" while the actual dosage is decreased!?!? I'm pretty sure the pharmacy where these meds come from are either lying about the strength of the meds or they are diluting it.

Given my previous experience with Semaglutide. I should be seeing some type of weight loss and/or food noise decrease... Instead, I'm out almost $700 with no actual success to the product this company alleges is successful for weight loss. If you want to throw away money and not have results, this is the place to go. If you want real results, do your research and pick anywhere else!!!

Terrible customer service and definitely a scam! I signed up today but within a few hours of signing up, my pcp called me to tell me the appeal through my insurance was approved. I immediately contacted Fridays to let them know that I wouldn’t need their services and explained the situation. I received nothing but attitude and was told that they would send to billing team but couldn’t transfer me and told me I didn’t need to call back. If I do not receive a call back by the end of the day, I will be disputing this with my bank and reporting them.

Horrible customer experience. Zero response until I canceled. I recently lost my coverage and wanted to continue my coverage of ozempic. I saw a great deal on Fridays and they offered an affordable 1 year plan. Lots of AI that didn't seem to understand. I sent them my prescription and one week later nothing. I had to call and reach a human but was able to cancel. I still do not have my meds however and now I will have to start from a lower dose.

From the onboarding process alone I can tell this company is a scam. There was an issue where I was charged twice and getting the refund took forever. I kept getting texts about my prescription updates and then my portal wasn’t updated. There is zero info and guidance about the meds. I got instructions for the injections when I ordered the oral drops. Let’s see if it works.

Wish I could give zero stars. This should be a simple rinse and repeat online pharmacy solution for compound semaglutide etc. I tried to go with the cheapest service and turns out the service matches. Go somewhere else even if it’s a little more money. I’m not hard to please and I’m no Karen, but this was the most chaotic and confusing experience.

I meet with a provider who seems far less than qualified and flustered by simple questions. I get lots of texts and email reminders for the appt which is great! Until they kept coming after my appt too (13 of them). Then I’m awaiting my current rx prescribed a month ago to be accepted. After a few days I get an email that it was denied. Weird right? No additional info or reason why. So I reach out to support to ask why and to start a refund (as they make you pay upfront). The promo code for $100 off that was advertised also conveniently didn’t work at checkout (red flag). They then tell me I’m not denied and a provider is simply reviewing my case. TWO WEEKS go by with me emailing back and forth with support, getting many identical emails that they’re looking into it, only to then receive another email today again that I’m denied service. So irritating and frustrating to have to start all over with a new service.

Fridays was amazing. I was appreciative of the transparency across the board and customer support. I would recommend them to family and friends if they needed the services. I was in name-brand for years prior to my insurance denying me - Fridays saved the day and the bank.

Does not work! I lost zero weight, and they will not refund me. The lady said I ordered the low dose, but when I ordered, the website said I WOULD lose up to 3-8 pounds with the product I ordered. BE CAREFUL what they tell you. Scam, in my opinion.

If I could give zero stars I would, first off I’ve been a nurse for 20 years, I have a genetic mutation that requires microdosing of glps for methylation purposes. I have never experienced such negligence and malpractice, the owner is a dentist practicing medicine, that shipped me the incorrect glp, tried to convince me I could take what he sent, and refuses to provide a refund. Not to mention that auto enrolled me for a subscription I never signed up for and make it impossible to cancel. This company will go down in flames and law suits on its own accord. No need to throw a molotov cocktail at it to ensure it goes under. Word to the wise go elsewhere for your glps.

I had a horrible experience with Fridays' Telehealth which has prompted me to file a complaint with the FDA and my local Department Of Health. I received GLP1 medication from Boothwyn Pharmacy in PA. When I started having extreme fatigue and dizziness on this med I decided to look up the pharmacy and was shocked to find that it was a veterinarian pharmacy with multiple health violations and was not approved to compound GLP1!! When I reached out to Fridays and asked to speak to a supervisor I was met with an attitude and total disregard for my health and safety. I was denied a refund and they immediately deleted my account. Proceed with caution.
