What is Forge?
Forge is an online personal training and fitness program that tailors its plans based on factors such as experience, food preferences and exercise equipment availability. Forge’s platform provides step-by-step guides to help you with your fitness and nutrition goals.
The company also offers unlimited in-app messaging with its Forge app so you can keep in touch with your assigned coach.
How does Forge work?
Before you commit to Forge’s fitness and coaching plans, it encourages you to reach out via its inquiry form so that a representative can answer all your questions. Once you’ve decided to take the next step, Forge gives you three plans from which to choose: Standard, Complete and Premium.
Plans differ based on the amount of video communication you get from a coach. At the time of publishing, costs range from $125 to $225 per month, depending on the level of coaching you select.
If you feel that these plans aren’t right for you, the company also offers a 90-Day Habit Transformation plan coached by Michael S. Parker, Forge’s founder. The plan is based on his book “90 Day Habit Transformation: The Essential Guide to Sustainable Fitness, Nutrition, and Personal Well-Being,” which is designed to help readers follow steps on a plan to a healthier lifestyle.
It is the only way to work directly with Parker. Sessions are 50 minutes each week for 12 weeks. “Clients follow a curriculum to help them discover sustainable ways to proactively improve their fitness, nutrition and habits with close guidance,” Parker said in an email.
If you select one of the three basic plans, the company prompts you to take a fitness assessment and food preference questionnaire. The results are then sent to an available coach for evaluation.
From there, Forge prompts you to set up a meeting with your coach so you can start your fitness journey. It should be noted that Forge requires payment upfront before you meet your potential coach, unlike some coaching platforms that allow you to be evaluated first for free.
Another consideration is that if you request a fitness coach, there is no guarantee that you will be matched with them. There is also no guarantee of changing coaches; it is dependent on availability.
Forge cost
As mentioned before, Forge offers three main plans. According to Forge, the only feature that differs between each plan is the number of monthly live coaching sessions via video or phone call. If you’re looking for a more advanced plan, Forge offers a 90-Day Habit Transformation plan, coached by the founder, Michael S. Parker. This plan, as mentioned previously, follows Parker’s book for creating and sustaining a healthier lifestyle. This is the only plan that allows you to meet with your coach once a week and work directly with Forge’s founder.
If you’re not happy with the amount of coaching sessions you have, you can purchase more at a rate of $50 per half hour.
The following table provides a more detailed comparison of the various plans.

Is Forge legit?
Forge is a legitimate company with certified coaches and dieticians. As of publishing, however, we don’t have enough customer reviews to get an overall sense of customer experiences.
Founder and CEO Michael S. Parker said in an email that Forge is “a very small company compared to mega-conglomerate competitors.” He said that he self-funded Forge and while it was a lot of work, “I love it and would have it no other way.”
