I’ll walk you through what happened. Yesterday morning at 6am, I woke up to my eye glued shut-and I knew I had pink eye. I first tried to set up the 1st appointment. I am a dependent on my mother’s insurance. It was not letting me put my name when making the account and only hers. So when I made the appointment, it was under my mom’s name. The 1st doctor then told me he could not treat me if the appointment was made in my mother’s name. Fine, sure, whatever, I will go change it. I was on with customer support because I was not allowed to change my name manually. When I got on with a lady, I told her I accidentally put my mother’s name and I needed to replace the first name with mine, all other information was correct. The lady was extremely rude and told me if I needed my first name changed and nothing else, I should have told her to begin with- I did.

So now we are onto the second doctor. I’m in and she tells me I need to upload pictures of my infected eye to my account and a doctor would reach out with an update. Sure, so that’s what I did. I went back in and uploaded pictures of my eye with puss coming out of them. I then receive a message on my account with the doctor “completing” my appointment and saying that I should schedule another appointment and that I need no other treatment. Let the record show, I was not diagnosed with anything, I was not prescribed anything, and puss was still oozing out of my eye. Naturally, I went to go set up another appointment, but to my surprise, I was being charged $54. Now why is that? The first appointment was in fact not “completed” I was not treated, prescribed any meds, or anything of the sorts. So, I called costumer support, AGAIN. This is now probably around 7-7:15 am.

I first spoke to two ladies who were very nice and felt apologetic about my situation. They then transferred me to someone who had no idea why I was being transferred to them. So, I had to explain my situation again. They said I would have to pay the $54. I was not paying for another appointment if nothing concluded from the first one. I then get transferred to an insulting lady. She was telling me that I was going to need to pay the $54 and insinuated that if I am unable to pay I can have assistance. She was calling me broke. At this point, this is 45 minutes into the phone call. She told me there was nothing she could do since I have already been “seen” by a doctor. THAT DOCTOR WAS A SCAM.

Was she trying to get money out of me? Who concludes an appointment without diagnosing anything. The lady then said I can try again tomorrow. So, Teladoc expected me to wait another 24 hours, with puss oozing out of my eye without meds? Do you know how many people I could have infected? I then asked to speak to a manager. After 15 mins of waiting, I FINALLY get to a manager. He was very pleasant and to the point, after being on the phone for 2 hours, I very much appreciated this. I then explained the situation to him and he took care of it. Asked me my information, my pharmacy and told me that I was on the list for an ASAP appointment for $0.

The final doctor was nice. He actually diagnosed me, views my pictures, and sent eye drops to my pharmacy. That’s what these doctors should have done in the first place. It should not have taken 2 hours, and almost getting a scammed to be treated for pink eye. I would not recommend this to someone else. Unless they want to get scammed and have their time wasted. I could have been to my local urgent care 4 times and I could have taken multiple trips to my pharmacy in the time I was on the phone-let alone being treated. I thought this was the alternative for not going in to a local urgent care. Total tally: 3 doctors spoken to, and 7 representatives spoken to. Complete scam. I would rather risk getting infected with a disease from someone in an urgent care waiting room than ever doing this again.

Teladoc’s operational failures aren't just inconvenient; they are actively harmful to patients seeking mental health support. My "consultation" with a psychiatrist lasted a mere ten minutes before I was dismissed with the news that they only prescribe medication and I’d need a separate appointment for actual therapy. To make matters worse, that follow-up therapist canceled on me just 40 minutes before the session. Teladoc has no problem threatening patients with a $50 no-show fee, yet their providers are allowed to abandon patients on a whim without consequence. This service is a predatory waste of time that prioritizes billing over basic patient care.

Doctor spent 3 minutes with me, interrupted almost every sentence I started, told me to look up the medication when I had questions, and tried to write the wrong Rx because he never looked at the picture I uploaded of some test results. I had to ask him to stop being rude. He also yelled at me after he said it was his pleasure to treat me at the end and I told him it did not sound that way. I hung up on him. I took this multi issue problem up with Teladoc and they could not possibly have cared any less. I verified with the pharmacist that the prescription he tried to give me was incorrect based on the test results he did not take into account. Just don't do this. If you want a hardy dose of rude malpractice with no recourse, then call them. There is a reason they only use the doctor's first name and hide the number from which they are calling. Sketchy.

My experience with Teladoc was HORRIBLE. The Doctor was VERY unsympathetic. He basically overcharged me and I received NO treatment. I would NEVER use this company for any kind of Healthcare assistance. The very same day, I had a virtual appointment with Live Health, and the doctor was compassionate and knowledgeable. He prescribed me the medicine I needed for a UTI. I would never recommend anyone to TELADOC.

Absolute garbage company. They had me fill out a form to tell them exactly what I needed (a prescription refill). 10 minutes later a doctor called me. The first words out of his mouth were "I can't refill this prescription." Ok, fine. Can I get a refund on what I've already been charged? Turns out, NO. I tried to call their support line. I got an agent who spoke VERY poor English. I asked if I could speak to a different agent and was told no. Scam.

Horrible service. This is the 2nd and last time I will ever use them. I called and paid for the same problem that I had several months ago. The provider was extremely rude and interrupted me before I even completed my first sentence to tell me they can’t help because of my age. I was treated several months ago for the SAME problem! Don’t waste your money. This is just a scam to suck more money from sick people. Disgusting!!!!

Horrible experience. I waited, waited and waited. Hanging by my phone so as to not miss their call. I received a "we are canceling your appointment because we could not connect with you." I was prepared to show me the TIME they call - I see zero calls during the two hours that I waited from any unfamiliar numbers. HORRIBLE experience!

Seems like a scam. I called the phone number. You just got sales ads. When I finally went through the website and got a callback he said he couldn't help. I will not try this again. Very disappointed. I paid someone to say "I can't help you."

      Reviewed Sept. 13, 2025

I feel completely scammed by Teladoc. I scheduled a visit and clearly stated my concern was a swollen lymph node. When the doctor called, the consultation lasted no more than 2 minutes. The doctor didn’t even introduce himself, was very unprofessional, and offered no real guidance other than “see a doctor in person.” I paid $54 for essentially nothing. If Teladoc knew from the start that a lymph node issue couldn’t be handled virtually, they should have declined my appointment instead of charging me. Instead, I was billed $54 just to be told to see a doctor — something I already knew. To make matters worse, I was never clearly shown any “no refund” policy before booking. Only after I complained did they point to it. This is unacceptable. Patients deserve transparency and professionalism, not being rushed off a 2-minute call, given no help, and still billed full price.
