I've used Americord twice for my children. What they do is as soon as you call them from the hospital that the stem cells have been extracted they immediately show up to come and pick it up. And then they call you back to tell you if it was successful and if they have enough to store. My biggest concern is if they have the proper safeguards so that they can prevent any unexpected loss of the stem cells. I was really not happy with the courier who was sent to pick up the cord blood. He showed up covered in dirt like he had been working construction for the day. They didn’t look like a courier service. After our girl was born the doctor and nurses collected everything and we packaged it up and called to have it picked up. Shortly after a courier picked everything up and it was off to be stored.

I have no issues with Americord. I used them for banking purposes and it has met my expectation. The storage was already included with the price. I had a very good experience working with the blood cord specialist and the courier was prompt. But they should make their website in which you have an account with friendlier like being able to change payment options and those types of things.
