We were looking for a company to bank our babies cord blood for the health benefits and if we would need stem cells later on. I chose Americord because of the ease they provided and their pricing. They came early, which was great. The process was actually flawless, especially during a very busy time when I was dealing with after birth and everything. I would recommend them to anyone.

Americord was excellent. The specialist and the person who picked up the kit - both excellent. I really appreciate that they overnighted it to me really quickly.

The person I worked with was very nice, but I did my research so I didn't need much explaining on the process. Overall, Americord met my expectations. Although, I realized that I may never use the cells that were frozen. If you have the money, this material can be useful for siblings or parents for bone marrow, like reconstitution if someone ever has or it needs to have pretty intense treatments.

My interactions with the cord blood specialist and the courier were both good; the courier was on time and everything was as expected. One benefit is they store the cord blood for 15 to 20 years depending on the plan, and you can give authorization to your kids once they turn 18 or 20. Overall, I would rate them a 5.

Everything was mentioned and given, and there was no searching through for anything. It was straightforward. The only thing we did was send a message to get it picked up, and they were there on time as they said.

They should make it where doctors 100% understand such as this is what you put in step one. And they should label the bags with a big one. The nurses didn't even know what goes in what. Also, we got callbacks on how their service was about a month after the samples have been picked up. But there was a confusion on packaging the placenta so there needs to be another rewrite of the instructions for that.

They follow up with you and are very helpful. They send a certificate as well with your child's name to let the parents know that it has been collected and stored properly and successfully.

Americord offered more stem cell products than the average American bank. They charged us a fair price. And the customer service has been good. In general, cord banks tend to be aggressive. So, I appreciated that Americord was not hawkish. They were good, and the customer service is very good. They returned my money when we changed our mind on other things. They did it right away without much questions asked. I'm happy so far.

I love Americord. I love what they offer. I have two children that are banked there. I trust them with their lives. I just don't like that I have to call them to make additional payments. There is no option to pay online. The other day, my payment didn't go through. I was gonna go on and make an additional payment and there's no online option to do that. I haven't been able to call in. Luckily, they did rerun the payment because I did get an email two days later saying that it did go through. But if we could have that online option, then it would be perfect.

Americord has a specific timing from when they can take the package. But taking the box quickly might have helped us instead of waiting for some time. When the courier picked it up, it was smooth itself, but we had to set a timing and then go out of the hospital and give that to them. That was a little bit of concern because it was just me and my husband and we needed to attend the baby too.

They were not organized in getting their pickup from the hospital, and I almost didn't make it for my second baby's cord blood.
