I knew about saving cord blood from school. I'm a biology major. But it was my doctor in the office who referred the company. I asked her about the options and she gave me the booklet for Cord Blood Registry. I have the opportunity and the financial opportunity, so I wanted to save the cord blood for my baby. I know that those stem cells have big potential. Maybe she will not need it, but just in case she does it in the future. I only went through the beginning process. Everything was on the top regular experience so far. The representatives have always been in touch with me when I needed them and provided me with all the information that I was interested in. They always take the phone and responded to my questions. They were never in a hurry. They listened to all of my concerns and gave me extensive answers to all I wanted to know. And they were always reachable, whether it was via email or via phone.

When stem cell research was coming out, the idea was that if you could preserve the cells from childbirth, and if your children ever needed them later in life, the cells would be available for use. At the time, there were only two companies to pick from and Cord Blood Registry seemed like the most trustworthy. Also, my

conversations with them were pretty seamless and they had more customer testimonials available on the website. Overall, their customer service was really good. Being almost a new mom, I had a ton of questions, so I was calling a lot and they were nice to me.

When I renewed our contract this year, the representative I talked to was informative and kind. There's a one lump sum that you can pay now or even pay monthly. For me, it's cheaper to pay everything upfront versus doing a monthly path. But after I paid, they accidentally applied my payment to the wrong child. So when I called back, they realized it and told me that they would fix it right away. So, even when there was an issue, they were really on top of helping me get it fixed. I was super comfortable working with them. It's almost one of these things where you do it and you forget about it. But it's like an insurance policy that, God forbid, if my children ever need it, I now feel more confident that, in the future, as technology advances, they'll have more options than my parents or I did. It also seems like Cord Blood Registry's facilities are really safe and clean. I'm grateful that I had the opportunity to have a service like this and for what it is, it's pretty cheap.

I was expecting and I did a lot of research and cord blood banking was of interest to me. I also spoke to other people who had done similar things in terms of ensuring that, should anything happen with the baby, there's something there that can potentially help them later in life, which was the key reason why we did it. The rep from Cord Blood Registry was very knowledgeable. We had not only online information to understand the process, but they were also very informative. If we had questions, they were responsive. They explained everything, and I had quite a few questions, and they put me at ease. So, it worked out.

People should do their research first and understand the science behind cord blood and how it can help. It can help in so many ways with marrow and other conditions. Cord blood and the placenta are used in research, and I wanted to ensure that it was going to help my child if ever needed, so it was a no-brainer. The price point was fine, we knew the expectations, and the biggest thing for me is peace of mind. If anything were to happen, we know it’s there. It’s not all banked in one thing. It’s sectioned, which is helpful, because if you need it more than once, you have it there. There's the ability to do that, or to even pull from the stem cells, which is a big deal. I hope it continues to thrive and prosper because that's one good thing about science that I like. As long as they're not using it for other things that I don't know about, I'm okay with that.

The child I did cord blood banking with is 20 now. He was our fourth baby and we had a big gap in between. We thought that if anyone in our family would ever need those stem cells, we were in a financial position with him and his birth and we could bank his cord blood where we wouldn't have been able to with the other kids. That was along our line of thinking at that time. Most everyone was banking cord blood at that time as well. I don't know if it was new or trendy with people in my area during that time, but I went along with what everyone was doing. It's been a while since we went with Cord Blood Registry, but it was all I had ever heard of and it's all I still ever heard of. They must have been more thorough about putting their information in maternity packets. With my daughters that have had babies, we haven't seen any advertisement. My daughters have never even heard of cord blood banking.

When we signed up with Cord Blood Registry, everything was positive. I remember like it was yesterday when we had to do the pick up the next day or two days later at the house. We lived in a very rural area and the gentleman that picked up had to drive really far to get to us and he was very kind. The service is good, but the initial payment was a bit expensive and it was a good value for what we got for it, but if it had been any of our other kids that were in previous years, we wouldn't have been able to afford it. As far as banking every year, if we were in financial hardship, it would be something that we wouldn't have continued and then maybe regretted it, but we've always been able to keep it up.

In the 20 years we've been with Cord Blood Registry, they haven't jumped up in price a lot, if any at all. It doesn't feel like it's a big burden yearly to keep the cord blood banked. There have been times where we've forgotten it was time to make the payment, and they always gave us a courtesy call so we didn't miss out. The reps have always been very friendly and professional, and I would be very comfortable recommending CBR. When I still had babies, I recommended it.

I've been reading a lot about stem cells and how it's going to be very important in the future and it could help treat very difficult diseases. Hopefully, my daughter will never need to use them. Instead of just throwing them away, maybe I can save the umbilical cord and blood for her. You never know what's going to happen in the future. My gynecologist referred me to Cord Blood Registry when I told her I was considering saving the umbilical cord and umbilical slots for my daughter. She gave me the brochure and I called them. The signup process was very easy and simple.

I gave birth seven years ago and CBR was able to collect everything on time. It was a very good experience. The reps were very professional, friendly and they were able to help me every step of the way. They gave me all the answers that I needed. I pay every year and the price is reasonable. CBR was the only company that I have dealt with and they were very good. I was skeptical at first, but I did not regret saving everything for my daughter. I’ve never needed to use the umbilical cord or blood or any of the things we're saving for now. But so far, we don't have any issues. I'm very pleased with this service.

21 years ago, we decided to do the cord blood banking with Cord Blood Registry. We did it when our son, Aaron, was born and we did it because if we ever needed his stem cells, we would want them viable. I wish we had also done it for Justin, the oldest boy, but we didn't since we didn't know about it at the time. That was 1998. Other than that, the price was reasonable and the process with Cord Blood Registry went off without a hitch. I've recommended them to several people.

We took the kit to the hospital and everything was good. But it took me a while to get the kit picked up. I thought in that kit it said they would come in a couple of hours but it took me almost six hours after I called and they came and collected the kit. I had to call a couple of times to make sure are they coming or not. So there wasn't any feedback whether they received my request, whether they get to my address correctly, are they coming. I had to call and make sure, "Okay. Are they coming or not?" So that was a little bit uncertain at the moment. That was the only drawback that I saw. I recommend Cord Blood Registry to anyone. Cord Blood Registry's procedure sounded professional, and it seemed right. We gave them the time to explain what the procedure was, and we liked it. It was doable. Our CBR reps were fantastic. Everything went exactly as they said it would when it was happening. We have three children, and we've banked stem cells with all three. There's no guarantee that all three would have the same cord blood, so we did all three. We're still paying for it.

CBR met our expectations. There was a couple of things that have been disappointing in the cost. It was supposed to be the same cost for life, and it changed. The price definitely went up. The storage fee went up over time. They did give us an opportunity to pre-pay at that rate for 20 years, but we didn't have $10,000 to give them. So, we agreed for the storage fee to go up. It's happened twice but again, we've had it for 20 years. So, I'm not gonna hold it against them. They didn't know the cost was gonna go up 20 years ago. Other than that, I do recommend CBR to anybody that are gonna have a baby or is pregnant. I think everybody should do it if they can afford it. It's definitely an affordable thing.

I learned about Cord Blood Registry in 2012 and at the time, they were the only cord blood banking service I was aware of. I decided to use them for future health purposes for my growing family and I had a positive experience with the representative when I signed up. My husband mentioned the last time we paid for a year that we didn’t realize that CBR needs a certain amount of cord blood to use the stem cells. I don’t know how much was collected, so we looked it up to see whether there was enough. Had I known there was a required amount, I would have done this for each of my children. I’ve learned that a lot of people end up donating what they’ve stored, and that’s just something that’s come up recently. CBR is a nice constant to know it's there. I just wish I had more information in the beginning.

I was reading up stuff while I was on bed rest when I was pregnant with my first two kids. I read that the cord blood can help save the baby's life in case he got a disease or a brain injury. I also read that throughout the years, they can get even better with what they can cure. But I ended up going into labor really early with my twins, so I wasn't able to do the Cord Blood Registry because it wasn't planned and I didn't have the kit.

For my second pregnancy, I was prepared and we did it. I gave the doctor the kit, and I told him not to forget to save my cord blood and that someone was going to pick it up. Then I got some confirmation that it was picked up. Other than that, the price is decent. The first couple of years, it was a lot cheaper, then it went up. But I couldn't throw it away now, so I got to pay. Also, when I called Cord Blood Registry and asked multiple questions, they've given me the answers. We were in a different financial place where we could afford cord blood banking a little bit more than we could with the first two children. We also found out that we were eligible to use it for any of our kids as long as they matched up until they were 18, then it would became the child's. That made us feel good too. A friend had banked with Cord Blood Registry and told us about them. We signed up as well and now have two different storages with Cord Blood Registry.

During the first time that we signed up, we talked to a guy and he was super knowledgeable. He made it make more sense to me and what we could possibly use it for. He was able to tell me that we would be able to use it for other kids if they were matched. He also told me about the different plans that we could do, and we ended up going with the one that was most affordable for us at the time. During the second time, we just called and added our child, and it was really easy.

We've had to contact them a couple times including the time when I hadn't been on the automatic payment plan yet, and I had forgotten about it. Each time we've reached out, the experience has been super easy. Cord Blood Registry gives you a little bit of reassurance and hope that if one of your kids do end up getting sick in the future, you have a little bit something to rely on on top of generalized medication. It makes you feel a little bit more at ease stepping into the role as a parent. If Cord Blood Registry is something that one could afford to do, they should 100% do it.

We have an 18-year-old, a 16-year-old, and an 11-year-old who all are registered with Cord Blood. Our credit card where our recurring payments were being billed had expired but no one reached out. I owed a huge lump sum because of that. CBR could follow up more carefully when stuff like that happens. But other than that, I'm pretty satisfied.

Storing our baby's cord blood and cord tissue is a great insurance policy for any potential future illness. CBR is one of the leaders in the space, and between them and the other one that I was looking at, they had the best financial plans and offerings. They were also very thoughtful and explained everything thoroughly. I'd recommend them.

Cord Blood Registry touted that their storage facility is located in an area that is less prone to natural disasters. I also liked the availability if you would need the specimen, not just for the children, but for the parents as well. The other options are communal - you give your specimen, but you're not guaranteed to get your own specimen back. With CBR, it's yours.

CBR also gives an option of paying in full where you won't make payments yearly. You just have to have quite a bit of cash on hand to be able to do that option. You also have the buyout option still to this day where if you came across a substantial amount of money, you could buy it out. But we do the yearly plan and we get a discount for multiple children. Communicating with CBR has also been easy. You can contact them quickly. They have promotions like if you refer people, you can get either a percentage off your yearly payment or you can get a year's banking for free. Anytime we've ever had a question regarding those types of things, they've been very responsive.

My brother recommended using Cord Blood Registry, that using them would be an advantage for the kids' health. If you have the cord blood and if anything happens in the future, like needing a bone marrow match for the family and for the baby, it can help. You will find the exact match.

Initially, my experience with Cord Blood Registry was great, but my issue was them not telling me the fees would hike every year, sometimes $25. That was going on for 2 or 3 years. It sneakily happened that I had to call back and tell them there was no notification sent to me prior saying they would have an increase of payment. Other than that, everything was great and smooth. The intention was good. It's been 12 or 13 years since I signed up and communicating with them has been easy. Every time I called, they were gracious enough to refund me back my money.

We work in cancer in the medical field and I heard about Cord Blood Registry through the hospital where our kids were born. The process with the carrier went well, but early on, everything was written and sent to us. In this last experience that we had, there was nothing that was sent to us. My husband got an email and that was concerning.

My brother-in-law and sister-in-law chose CBR for their son's stem cell banking, and almost 10 years ago, I signed up with them as well. My son is highly autistic and I don't know if it's eventually gonna come in handy later on down the road, but I'm glad I did it. I have recommended CBR to a couple of friends.

We encountered couples that talked about banking their baby's cord blood and they mentioned it and we did our own research. I looked companies up online, and when I called Cord Blood Registry, the rep sounded more appealing about what they were doing and the objective. We went with them and she initiated the setup. We got the kit and the instructions were clear. We knew to bring it upon delivery. Cord Blood Registry also knew who my OB-GYN was, which made it easy to mention it to the OB-GYN doctor and they knew exactly how to process everything. Once everything was done, the guys gave the company a call and within an hour, they picked up the kit. I was satisfied.
