CBR storage options

CBR offers multiple storage options:

  • Cord blood: Stem cells from cord blood include hematopoietic stem cells (HSCs). These cells can help treat more than 80 life-threatening conditions, like sickle cell disease and leukemia. Cord blood is a perfect genetic match for your child.
  • Cord blood and cord tissue: You can store the HSCs from cord blood and mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) from cord tissue. Cord blood and tissue preservation potentially offers additional treatment options. It may help treat burns and vascular damage in addition to other life-threatening illnesses.
  • Build your plan: Building your plan offers multiple payment options. You can pay for your first year of preservation upfront or spread payments out over terms ranging from six to 48 months. However, your payment is not due until after your baby is born.

Each CBR plan includes processing, shipping and storage fees. After your first year, you will only pay an annual storage fee. CBR offers discounts for multiples (twins, triplets, quadruplets) and financing options.

CBR FAQ

Is CBR legit?

Children are a guaranteed match for their stem cells, and even siblings have a 75% chance of being at least a partial match. We decided to bank our baby's newborn stem cells. Our daughter is now three. My mom has had some autoimmune issues, and then needed cord blood. She used cord blood for some stuff. So, I thought it would be a good idea just in case we needed it in the future. My sister-in-law, who does a lot of research into companies was the one who referred me to CBR. She just used them for her cord blood stuff. So, I trust her opinion. CBR's representative was really good and helpful and she helped me with any questions I had regarding getting everything sent. I remember having the process of getting it sent after my baby was born. It was really simple and clear for us. I had a good experience with them.

When my son was born 21 years ago, Cord Blood Registry was one of the few that we found. We signed up and while we haven't used them since 21 years ago, I still pay for his storage. As far as the kit, the process was so convenient. It went right to the hospital through Federal Express. They put everything together in the hospital and they waited and took it right with them. It was easy. I thought storing my son's cord blood was an incredible thing to do, God forbid, if anything was to happen to pretty much anybody in the family. I thought it was a smart decision to make. I would highly recommend CBR.

Cord Blood Registry was suggested to me by my OB-GYN on the birth of my second daughter. At the hospital, they took care of everything. That was four years ago and I've been renewing every time at the end of every year. I read about the benefits of saving the cord and the cells. So, my husband and I decided to keep on and we've been doing it for four years. So far, it's been good. The people at CBR were very professional. I don't have to worry about anything. The payments are fair. They don't overcall you, too. The only thing is when I try to renew my payment, I had to stick with someone to do that for only a year and not to do a lifetime or set of years.

Cord Blood Registry was what was recommended. I went through a fertility clinic for my son's birth and, thankfully, I was able to get pregnant on the third try and he was born in December of 2024. He'll be two this December. The CBR representatives were wonderful. They explained everything very well and very professionally. They helped me understand exactly how it all works. It was a little bit expensive because it's not really something that we're currently using, but if something were to happen in the future and we needed to use it, we have it available. So, that's the good thing, but it could be a little bit cheaper. A little less always helps.

We've been using CBR since my oldest kid was almost 17. We have three kids total. So since we had the first one with CBR, we also went there for the subsequent kids. My OB-GYN initially recommended them when I was pregnant. Also, we live in Tucson and their headquarters was about a mile from the office where I was working all the time. So I drive by them. They're local to use. When we had the kids, we had my mom or friends drive over the kit and saved the shipping fees. The initial cost is not that bad but the yearly storage fees can be a little prohibitive. But at this point, I'm in with my kids being around so long. They went up a lot the last couple of years and I called CBR and they put them back to the rates that they were the years that we originally had. That was pretty quick and painless.

I've been doing Cord Blood Registry for over 20 years now so I've been paying them for 20 years as well. I pay the same amount every year. The doctor recommended it, and I'm satisfied with it. I hope I never have to use it but the benefits now are much greater than they were 20 years ago with the stem cells. It's worth the money if somebody in the family needs them one day. I would just hope they're still there.

I decided to use a service like Cord Blood Registry because I was having a baby, and my sister told me it was a good idea to do it. Somebody recommended the company. My daughter is five and I was going to cancel my subscription, but the representative I talked to last year put some discounts in. She said they could charge less because I don’t know if I’m going to have another baby, and she cut the fee in half. Cord Blood Registry is a very good company. They do what they say. They advertise correctly and are very helpful whenever I call. It’s a straightforward experience, and I do recommend them.

We are with Cord Blood Registry for the last 10 years. When my son was born in 2015, we wanted to use to store his cord blood registry and we went with Cord Blood Registry because my friend referred me. So far, they've met our expectations but we haven't used the cord blood yet. Other than that, every year I'd be calling them and I'd be paying the money. The service and their representatives are good.

I found Cord Blood Registry on Google during my pregnancy and I felt that was a good investment for my child. I signed up and Carmen, my rep, was great. They explained the process very thoroughly. When your baby is born, you ship a piece of the umbilical cord and they process it. They get it down to stem cells, where you can use it in case your baby gets hurt or they need a blood transfusion.

I've had Cord Blood Registry for 21 years. The way that it worked 21 years ago was that as soon as you're gonna have a baby, you need to let the courier know. We had to make a phone call to let them know. When I was at the hospital, the courier showed up and took the cord blood. It was very simple to do business with them. It was not like a task. Back then, I paid in full and it was $3,000 until the child was 18 years old. So, now I'm on an annual plan where I pay $110 for a year.
