This is my second Craftmatic bed. I've had the second bed a couple of months now. My first Craftmatic, I had it for about 25 years. The sales team were very courteous because the bed I've ordered wasn't quite as long as I need it. They sent someone to pick up the one that they delivered and replaced it with a longer bed with no extra charge. When you're used to something for 25 years, nothing stands out. The only thing I can tell you the difference from between my bed, my old bed and my new bed is the remote control that I had on my old bed was wired. These are wireless. The quality is much better.

I had a knee replacement and a hip replacement. The bed has helped because initially when I had it replaced, I had to keep my leg elevated. It was a great experience and I would do it again.

This is my second Craftmatic bed. I purchased the first one about 25 years ago. I ordered the new bed sometime in January. It took them about a month to get it here somehow. The fellow said they could bring it and the kid called them and dealt with it and wanted to bring it, and I don't know what the problem was. Then they brought it and told me there's a hole in one of them. They brought me another one and they never could bring that and then they couldn't bring it and then we called and we called. Somebody needs to fire somebody. I was leery at the time they told me they would bring it and never did bring it.

I didn't have a problem with the bed, just the people who brought it. The management of the people that brought it was pretty sure I thought. Or the bed bought it all, I didn't have a problem. It was pretty good. But I have to say the people that brought it, they're supposed to get me another one and they kept screwing it up. They'd tell you to bring it, 'We could bring it Thursday.' They call you Thursday morning and they'd tell you, 'We can't bring it today. We'll bring it Monday.' Then Monday they call you they can't bring it. They would bring it Tuesday or something like that. I just got sick of this.

They did hire somebody else to deliver the bed. They got rid of the people that delivered the bed and hired somebody else. They got to pull out the delivery. Then they get to your house, they drag it in, drag it across the floor. They don't care about nothing. The last people that came and brought the bed, they came and got the bed. They told me they brought my new bed. Those two fellows out of Columbia, they were real good, real good. But the ones out of Savannah, they won't do nothing.

I got back cramps. My wife has got back cramps too. The problem is the mattresses on the other one had worn out. I bought a regular Sealy mattress that go across the bed, king size mattress you put on top of the bed. And we didn't get to use the bed then for raising it up like we really want to do. I finally got enough money to buy some mattress. I called them and asked to buy some mattresses and he told me, 'You have to buy the whole bed for a little bit more,' and they gave me a pretty good price and I did. I bought the bed, the remote and the entire thing. And I'm glad I did.

As far as I remember 25 years ago, they were sure they were coming and they did. There were two guys that brought it out and they took my old bed and they put it at my bedroom. They took it out and installed it the way that I want it installed. They did a good job. They did a better job at installation back then. They really did. People cared back in those days. People don't care anymore.

My experience with Craftmatic has been good, real good. My wife and I enjoyed the bed. I mean I wouldn't want to be without it. It does a lot. We get up in the morning with our back not hurting where before we'd get a back hurt all the time. It's just definitely good for us. Yes, it's worth the money.

I bought Craftmatic first time in 1997 and the second time this year. My experience was pretty good. I fell and broke my left hip in seven places in June, and I was told that I could never walk again. So I'd been in a wheel chair. I'd been on a physical therapy. But before that, I had problems with my lower back. And that's why I'd also gotten acid reflux. So the first one helped with that. And the second one has helped because the mattress is higher and the remote has more power in it. I've had the second bed for a week. So far I'm happy with the quality of the new bed, much better because I was downstairs in the health care center - their mattresses are unbearable. I couldn't wait to get up. Five months on that, it's just too much torture.

People should definitely get it and get what I did. I got the same thing I had before. They called that the top of the line. I don't know what you call it now. It's twin size. It has a remote control for vibrations and what not. And the head and the foot go up and down. It's perfect. The people who installed it brought the whole thing in. They took the old one out. They installed it and they showed me how to use the remote. The interesting thing about this is on the remote, there's a 1-800 number. 'Call us if you have any troubles with remote or anything else.' That information wasn't given to me the first time I was sold one.

The ordering process was absolutely easy and fast. When I had my power of attorney look it up on the internet because what I got, the local thing, was in Wilmington, Delaware. This time the central office I think is in Florida. And they have dispatches from Florida and Minnesota. The guy that talked to me was in Brooklyn. It just went zoom bang bing bang. The boys came in at the time they said they were coming. They picked up the truck in Western Maryland and brought it down here. I was the last one on the delivery lane. They couldn't have worked better. They took the old one with them.

Very efficient, good information. From the word 'go' when you call, it was a month apart I'd think when they came to visit you. The testing over the telephone to different vendors and what not was actually more technically accurate and you could really glue them like cake. That was important to me. The two thugs who delivered it knew everything about the remote control. I'm definitely satisfied. And I told them here about these nasty beds we have down in the infirmary. Of course, this cost more. I think this cost me $2,200 to deliver and take the other. Plus, the remote is ten times better than the other one. I paid almost $2,000 for the first one in 1997. People here buy these hospitals beds at outlets on the highway. They have sort of iron mesh in the middle, so they have to put a pillow down there if they have problems to the sacroiliac (that doesn't work). It doesn't have that problem.

Well, I'm 85. Okay, it's nice if someone says, 'We'll take it out no matter how decrepit it is.' No arguing. And they came in. The whole thing took less than half an hour. And then that remote, there's the number 1-800. 'And if it doesn't work or you're unhappy, we'll help you with the remote or anything else on the bed.' That wasn't available before. I thought I was going to have some problems because it's a monster compared to the other one - it was so simple and flat and childlike. This one has light splashing out of it. So one of the aides came in, those smart girls that have been texting/playing with iPhones and iPads and all this and that - she had it working like that. They know a thing like this. It's like Apple time to them. I was so impressed.

I've had them for several years now. I know it was right about 9/11 when I got it. I have never had anything wrong with it. It has never broken down, knock on wood quick. And I have had a lot of health issues in my lifetime and the most recent one is I had a hip replacement. I was gone from home for 40 days and I was in a hospital bed. I could not get comfortable in that. But when I got home last Friday, I'll tell you, there was nothing like getting into my bed where I could get my feet just perfect, my head just perfect. I can't say enough about it and I have told numerous people. They've even come over to try my bed out and have purchased them too over the years. Like I said, I can't say enough about it.

In fact, I went to the doctor on Monday and the doctor said that I had a fracture on my hip. But I have absolutely no pain and so when they took the x-ray yesterday, they said, 'Oh it's a fracture there. There's no doubt about it.' And what should have taken an hour and a half took three and a half hours - that's how bad my hip was. He said, 'I can't believe, Carol, you do not have any pain.' I said, 'Well, I don't doctor.' He said, 'Well, for three weeks.' He's supposed to be number one orthopedic doctor in Michigan according to Cleveland Clinic. So I felt that I really have the best doctor. There's no question.

I told him about it yesterday and he just looks so sheepish. He goes, 'You got to be kidding.' I said, 'No. Look what you have done for me, doctor.' And he said it ruined my left knee all around because it's a left hip and he said, 'This is unbelievable because I don't have any other patient that has had this.' I said, 'Well, that's nothing because ever since I was 3 months old and had radiation treatment, my body is not like any normal person.' So I said, 'I'm doing great and I have a fantastic bed I sleep in.' He wanted to know about my bed.

In fact, a little while ago he told me I can't do any walking anymore, I can't do any physical therapy, which I was doing fabulous. He said, 'We can't take a chance on that. We got to make sure it heals; otherwise, we got to go in there again.' It was so cute he said, 'Well, you make sure you rest in that bed of yours. And remember, you can't be over 90 degrees.' I said, 'I know. I did that in the hospital. I understand.' He said, 'That's only for one more week and then I don't care. You can reach down if the hip is doing well.' And I said it will. But I got a big kick out of that and I thought, well, that's where I feel like going in a few minutes because I've been sitting up and I'm doing a little few things around the house. He I'm sure would be okay. Then when I feel alright, so why not. So that's my tale about my bed.

The people at Craftmatic showed me how to use the bed. I just wish I had a more modern one where my remote control, I would like to have a cordless one, minus the cord. But if that's the only drawback, I don't care because I've been using it all these years. My Craftmatic is a lifesaver and that's the truth - absolutely - because I was in such misery before that because my hips were going bad and my knees, and I have a bad shoulder. It really was because I just could hardly function because I wouldn't sleep well. And if you don't sleep well, you know what that's like; you just can't function well each day and that's how I feel - and Godsend. That's exactly how I would put it. Lifesaving. Godsend.

They were good people to work with and everything. And they got the price, the price that I could afford. I had Craftmatic before. What I like about it, they're comfortable right away. You don't have to get used to the mattress. For some reason, they're just comfortable. My husband has a lot of back problems lately. This makes us decide to get it because it's adjustable, and it has helped. The new one, we had it in December. But we had one - we slept on it for 23 years. So they really last too. I am getting the best sleep I can with Craftmatic. The people who come and deliver the bed put it together and everything. It seems they know what they were doing and everything.

The first I had, it's been over 20 years. And this one we just got last Monday, so it's a week. I have indigestion; I have GERD. And with that, it helps when I'm able to lift my head. You have to try to put boards and blocks or whatever upon your bed. And my feet sometimes and my legs bother me. So I can put the feet up. It has the massage. I think it's great. The sales people were great. They were always helpful every time I needed to call for anything. And the delivery guys were great too. With the old ones, we had wires; it was hooked to the bed. The controls were hooked to the bed. With these, they don't have any wires and you're a lot quieter. Now, when you put it up or down, you hardly hear it. There's something different and it's great.

I have had my Craftmatic for about a month. I liked it and recommended it to my daughter, so she got one. They were more helpful to me than I was to myself. I didn't know really how to get in touch with them and I wanted another Craftmatic bed. So I had called quite a few numbers. I guess I got the right number. But they called me back and they explained to me that they had many and to get one. Anyway, I got the bed and I liked it and my daughter liked it.

One of the reasons I got it is because of my back. And now with that bed, you can put the back up or down or the foot up or down. This is my second one - so undoubtedly, I like it. I appreciate them being so nice by coming out, putting it together, showing me how it worked.

So far we're happy. They were very informative. We probably own the oldest Craftmatic that ever was anyway. We literally have one that's probably as old as the company. We bought one in Florida like literally 38 and finally out of it, and I said it might be a good idea to get a new mattress (LOL) after all these years anyway. Fortunately, we have good backs, so it didn't matter. But then we were in a friend's house, and they had just got a brand new one, and I said wow. I mean ours still have wires attached to the thing that you press the button on and all. And they had remote, and it was quiet, and the mattress was nice. So that's why we decided to do it.

I would definitely recommend it. We have really loved it for years. There really wasn't anything completely wrong with it except that the mattresses were just worn out. So of course we started looking into the cost of mattresses. That's when my husband said, 'Well, we're gonna spend that much in a mattress, so might as well spend some more.' And we have a guesthouse, so we're just transferring the old Craftmatic into the guesthouse.

The thing that we like about it the most, he did have a knee replacement at one point and it was nice to be able to elevate the foot. But the most part, I don't have any aches or pains or anything, but I do like to sit up and read at night and that's great because I can do it and he can go to sleep. We haven't got the new one. They said, 'You're gonna have one side of the mattress firm and the other is soft.' So that gives you an option and that's nice. And we were able to use it with one big sheet. We don't put two different sheets on it.

Everybody my husband talked to was very nice and pleasant and it was a good experience. They were so engaging that we said, 'Look, the one we have, we want to move over into our guesthouse' because they said they'll take the old one away. And we said we really want to move it over, and they said they'll do that. When our kids were growing up, they would bring their youth group, and then they all lie on the bed and make it go up and down. We also had a feather comforter on it, so it was really a heavenly bed. There was no question. So I would imagine the new one would just be pretty much an improvement on that and that can't get much better.

My son and daughter-in-law have a bed they spent six grand on, and it's like a big, flat board. It is the hardest. But it doesn't have any bells and whistles. It's just like a rock bed. Maybe if you've slept on it long enough, you'd have a good back and you could go to some prison in Siberia and make it. For six grand, if I'm gonna die in a bed, I want it to be comfortable. I'm all into goose town and cotton, and I like everything to be very soft, and they like it to be rubber and hard. I was there at that day and I said, 'You spent what on this?' And they said, 'Yeah, even we admit that it's a mistake.' They're in their thirties. So I don't know what the deal is. Maybe one of those things were you roll over and leave an impression (it supposedly held your shape or something). We're not very big people; neither one of us is over 5'7'', so we don't leave much of an impression.

And then there's another one that has supposedly a memory. We had that in a hotel once, but I didn't like it (you know the ones, they tell you to dial a number and tell it's the right way for you or something, and then either it gets softer or it gets harder). If you've got that, it has got to be managed by some kind of spring system. So I would think that wouldn't last very long. But with your company, we've had not one wit of trouble with that thing in literally almost 40 years, so what could go wrong with this batch?

This is my third Craftmatic. I had two in Colorado Springs. I moved to Germany and then I came back over here and I missed my bed. So that's why I ordered it again. And I love it. I always tell people what kind of bed I got and who I got it from and that I'm very satisfied with it and that I love it. They are excellent. I got back pain, and that helps me a lot; and neck pain, it helps me a lot. They are very comfortable and then you can move the head and the feet up if you want to. And they put them up for you, so I didn't have any work to do on that one and they're easy to move from one side to another. That's what I have to do. But I'm very satisfied with that. I'm happy.

I had one Craftmatic bed for thirty years. I have them for a long time. And I had to leave it behind because I moved to Germany. And I was very, very upset about that. So when I moved over here, that's the first thing I did - I got in contact with Craftmatic to send me another one. They taught me how to use it. It was very easy. The people were very nice. I had to cancel it for a few minutes because I had to go in the hospital. And then when I came back and I called the people again, they were right there for me.

The person I talked to was very nice; she was very helpful. On December 21st they delivered it. However, I was under the understanding that heat would be with the bed, and when it came, it was not and it does not have unlimited adjustments like the one I had used many years ago. It seems that the adjustments are kinda limited in the model they sent me. I didn't make them come in and show me how to use the remote. Consequently, I've got two beds and they're in two separate rooms, and if you operated one, it did the same thing to the other one. I just looked at the book and figured out how to do it, and I adjusted/set both of them up, and they both worked fine after that.

The Craftmatic bed has helped with my acid reflux. The one my husband uses the most is the massage. And the one I use the most I guess is just the raising up the head to different levels and things like that. I'll definitely recommend Craftmatic to a friend or family - they'll like it. But my husband's very upset because they damaged our front door. They scraped it up. But as far as the bed, I would say it's a good company to work with.

I guess the main thing was my wife had trouble reaching, figuring out through the maze and stuff, where the home office was, how to get there (once she got there, things were okay), who to telephone at work and where. Once we got in contact with the home office, things went pretty smooth. I want to give you the guy's name (who we dealt with) because he was very good - Wade **. He really knew his stuff in detail, to make / customize what we wanted in the bed as far as heights and what adjustments. He's very knowledgeable about the product he had some there while we got good service. There were other departments to get the show on the road. They got to ship there.

The consideration since we welcome this was to positionally deal with Gastroesophageal Reflux. We got the bed prior to December. The reversible mattresses, the firmer and slightly softer, are excellent. They're very comfortable. Mostly I like floating the head and the feet a little bit. My wife has tried the vibration mode and she liked the way of the action. I tried the vibration mode (I guess it was last night) for a little bit. Using the bed is pretty self-explanatory with the brochures that come on it. They did show us how the controller works. They worked the bed with controller, pressing. My sleep has definitely improved, especially for my wife. I was glad that the company was willing to get the old bed and mattress out of here and chop it off.

I received the check of the delivery. We weren't too happy with that. But then when they left the manifesto that you send out, that was part of the agreement (why they did what they were supposed to do). Their problem was they really arrived with the smallest truck. It had several deliveries on there. They really had to work to cram the old stuff in there. In fact, they had to off load the new stuff before they could get the old stuff in. That's kinda messy in the rain getting the stuff in here, especially with the shared driveway. I had to direct the traffic to make sure they don't temporarily park the stuff while the next-door neighbor was trying to go to work. It was an eventful day, but once we got the stuff in the door and the traffic managed. It was a good thing I directed the job and was prepared to do it, because it went a lot smoother then. And we were ready. We only then realized no hassle - there was no problem getting the stuff in and set up efficient and quickly. It was very good.

Basically, what I had contacted them because I had seen their advertising that I had owned a Craftmatic bed probably for about 15 years, and what I wanted to do is replace the top mattress. And I had gotten back in touch with them concerning that. After talking to them, they made me such a good deal. I just replaced the whole thing. It actually was cheaper than what I first purchased the bed for, plus I've only had it for about a little over a week, but my sleep is so much better. I'm much more comfortable than I was previously because what I had done is I had replaced the top mattress with another mattress. Well, the bed was still working fine as far as adjusting, lifting up, and everything. I just wasn't really comfortable in that mattress. So I thought, well, I probably would have been better off all along either to have replaced the whole mattress earlier or to have contacted them first. Anyway, so right now, I'm pretty satisfied. The only thing (and I haven't called them about this to see) is it seems a little bit louder when the massage is on than my other bed did. And like I said, I haven't talked to them. And I haven't used the massage. That might be it. But anyway, I do have a wood floor. So there's nothing under there cushioning that noise.

I like the new wireless control. That's very nice. So I'm real pleased with it. It's nice. And I like a firm bed, so I'm very pleased. In fact, this mattress is firm in one side and a little less firm on the other side. So if I decide that I want to change that, then I could just flip it over, which is really nice, but for right now. I think that basically they said, 'So what about changing and moving the mattress around things?' And they tell me that if I see/just think about it, when the time changes, then you can just rotate it around. I said, 'Oh, that's a good idea [to think about that].' I said, 'Oh, okay. That makes a lot of good sense.' But I'm certainly glad that I went ahead and did this.

It started off years ago. My mother had contacted them. She wanted me to listen to what they had to say because I do have problems and stuff - and I generally sleep with my head elevated anyway - and also acid reflux. Anyway, this way the bed can automatically be lifted. If it's worse, I can lift it higher. If I don't have the need to have it lifted so much, that's fine. Also, I like to read in bed. So that's good. I can prop it up. And then occasionally, well, I do have arthritis in my knees. And sometimes my legs bother me. So, I want being able to elevate those as well, too. Anyway, when they started talking about this stuff, I thought maybe I might want those beds too. And like I said, that was probably about 15 years ago that she and I both purchased one. I've been very pleased with it (the first one I had). Well, I would not have invested in a second one if I didn't like the first one.

I was very pleased with the people that I talked with. They're very knowledgeable. And when I first contacted them, well, in fact, they contacted me right back because I did that over the internet. I had seen this and I thought if I go on and just see what the prices their beds were in, the mattresses, and stuff. And I put in there that I was interested in talking to someone. I probably heard back within an hour (it might have been sooner than that). So then I talked with them. In fact, her name was Patricia also. I told what I was interested in is like a top mattress. So she talked to me about that. Then she said, 'Well, because you had another mattress...' And like I said, they just made me a really good deal on it. So I just decided to go ahead and replace the whole thing, and I'm pleased with it. I would recommend them.

It was quick and easy. Well, it was informative. I ordered it. It was delivered. Everything went smoothly. It didn't take long and all. It's about a week to 10 days. When they had it, we set up my delivery and they were here. The people who delivered were on time. They came in and also they took away my other bed too. I would have donated it, but at this point in time, people are not really taking bed, and I don't think too much, because of bed bugs and stuff like that (I didn't have any of them). So I said, 'Well, if you'll just take it away.' So that was all included in the delivery and everything. It was good. It was a very pleasant experience. No hassle.

I went to the internet and got the phone number for Craftmatic itself. I found that there were, apparently, a lot of outfits that offer knockoff mattress combination. We need a new mattress. I'm looking for mattress and find out that Wal-Mart carries its own, but they're about a tenth of the price of the original equipment. And I thought that, in talking to the guy in Craftmatic, I got to believe that those knockoffs that you find in Wal-Mart, I said I just wish they're a little less than perfect. This is the second one we've had. This is a replacement for the original, which is about 18 years old - I guess something like that.

The ordering process was very simple. I got a salesman on the phone, and he knew his products. Buying it, it's either knockoffs (these knockoffs there), but I got a whole brand new bed. I said I had to get a mattress now - I have a whole brand new bed. I got Craftmatic as there are more modern controllers to it. Bed controllers are now wireless like a TV set (the old ones have cords). So we're much safer and they're nice. Overall, newer products, and to get little better, what we wound up was, we put the two old beds upstairs in my guest room (if you want to call it). Normally, my grandkids, they sleep on them and have a good time.

Both of us here are ancients in our years. I'm 83 and my wife is a little bit less than that. She had a bad shoulder and I'm on a walker or a wheelchair, slow a bit. I can wave my legs. I could tip the back up so I can watch when I go to bed or any other time. I'm not bedridden, but it's an improvement, better product. It's not cheap, so I'm shocked with the price. Some people would say, 'My god, you paid that much for a bed?'And we had a little glitch in the delivery process here (but I'm always impressed). We were scheduled for this morning between 8 and 12. 12 o'clock and we got nobody here yet, so I called the dispatcher and she said, 'They forget to put it in the truck this morning. So it would be Monday, before they get it to you.' Well, I said, 'You know I get my bed off a part of the floor, what do I do now?' And she was very sympathetic, but they can't do much about it. Well, okay. She called back and was a very rude person.

On my part, I just called Craftmatic (with someone I talked to. I called him also, or I sent him email just to let him know I was having a problem). Just a little while after lunch, I got a phone call from her saying that the delivery had been scheduled for this afternoon between 3 and 7, which I thought was pretty good. And the salesman from Craftmatic itself called me, and she knows your problem. And I say it's being resolved now. The customer service I thought was excellent. That was my experience with this whole job here. I think it's really good. I would recommend Craftmatic to anybody interested in an adjustable bed. I'm impressed.

I am getting the best sleep possible with this bed. And if I wake up in the night, I could adjust it up or down. I'm a big Craftmatic fan. They are not cheap, but you get what you pay for. It was excellent. The product is good. The service is good. Delivery... I mean they bend over backwards I'm sure. They're 80 miles away from here where the guy had to pick it up at lunchtime. I'm just very impressed.

I had a bed, and it was an adjustable bed just like Craftmatic. With Craftmatic they all got a few more gadgets on it to go along. I'm adding that because let's say you had to buy car. You go out, you got a car, you can move your mirror, you can move your seat, you can heat your seat, you can do all this other stuff, and all that is a money-making progress for the company because there's more things to go wrong; therefore, they'regonna have to service it; therefore, they're gonna make money on service again. Unfortunately, that's what it is.

The bed I got so far has gone pretty well. Now, we got an inner spring mattress. When I first got this thing, when I first bought this until after I had said I was gonna buy it, I was not aware. I probably was told, but I didn't hear it correctly. I must say it was my fault. I do not like inner spring mattresses because I'd slept on inner spring mattresses before your mother was born, and I know that they don't do what needs to be done because they have pressure points all over the place. And you can tell me they don't, but they do.

I have an inner spring mattress and 'it's got a 15-year warranty on it'. I'm sorry to say, but like I've said, I'm old enough to be that old. I've never seen an inner spring mattress that lasted 15 years. So my next question is 'Okay, am I gonna be able to get anything back out of Craftmatic if this thing goes wrong, which I'm having troubles with at the present time.?' I weigh 240 lbs. I have got the inner spring. It's got the soft side or softer side on one side, and I have a hard side on the other. I thought, well, I'm 240. I'm gonna try the hard side. Well, within about 3 days after I got this thing, where you sit on it, it had already started to sag. Now, I got an inner spring mattress.

When I was buying this and I hadn't gotten my head screwed on, and I'm taking the blame for it, I wouldn't have that. I wouldn't have Craftmatic because I would not have an inner spring mattress. And I wouldn't have paid much more. I wouldn't have paid hardly any more than I'm paying for what I got now. I know about what these things cost, and I know that you have to make money and I'm the one who has to supply it. But when I get this thing, I like to have what I have. You see, I didn't get to try my dress on before I bought it. Therefore, I didn't get exactly what I wanted to get. Over the phone, it's hard to get some of this stuff done. Therefore, I don't like buying it like that. I don't like buying anything over the phone.

I'm not angry because part of it was my fault, because I'm the one that screwed up. But the thing was, we went back and forth, and back and forth, and back and forth so many times, and I got lost in the back and forth. And I didn't have the bed to sit in front of me and say I want this one, or this one, or this one. I'm doing this over the phone. I'm not dissatisfied. I'm just not totally happy with the way it was carried out. This evaluation is kinda quick because I've only had this thing 2 or 3 weeks.

I've owned an adjustable bed that was sold to me by somebody else over the phone, but the man came and showed it to me. They sold it to me over the phone, brought me the bed, and put it in my house. They let me sleep on it and then let me decide if I wanted it. So it was a different experience than what I got with Craftmatic because when Craftmatic left here, they left here with the bed that I was already sleeping on. So if I'm dissatisfied with Craftmatic, what are they gonna do with my bed? So I'm very dissatisfied with that and the thing because if I don't like it, you come and get my bed. Where is my bed? What am I going to sleep on tonight?

My wife and I both have heartburn for which we need to have them. It lays the head of the bed so that we don't have heartburns, so we don't get up pretty stuck up on our esophagus and then gasp. And I don't know why I get in bed early, maybe because I get up early. My chair where I'm sitting on right now, which is a recliner, it can be made into a bed. And so I sit in it with my dog and I sleep and do whatever I wanna do (watch TV or whatever). So okay I got 5 hours sleep on it. The five hours sleep I got was pretty good, but if I had gone back in there, all I would have done, because I've tried it, is toss and turn. That's it. I would have tossed and turned. So I don't know what it is.

The adjustable bed is good. I think it has got features on it. The old one that I had, you had to put the foot down and you had to put the head down. This one I can have the foot stick and straight up in the head, have you on a V, and the thing, you press flat, it goes flat. And I don't have to mess with all the buttons. So if you have some things on it that does this, the vibrator on it is a lot wider than the one that I had on the other one. So that part of it is in there. I think I have vibrator on my back. If you hadn't tried it, you'd want them too much. But anyway, I've got it. Mine vibrated one night, and it did ok, and I hadn't done it since then. So anyway, that part is good and I like that.

In doing all this stuff, some of the things that were said goes back to some of the things that I saw on TV, which I didn't know I got, did, or whatever. I'm gonna give you an example. I was doing what I do very well (and my wife gets mad at me). I was storming through the TV, hunting me a channel. Well, they were showing adjustable beds. I don't know whose adjustable bed it was because I did not get in on when it first started and it did not say from the time I got on till the time the thing was over. And they showed this adjustable bed, and if you want to make the bed, you could split the bed. The headboard/head part stays stationary, and you could take the two feet of both beds and spread them. So you get in there so you can make the bed. I thought that's pretty good, for one of the things in doing/making this bed is getting in the middle of this thing.

Now, the guy (Frank) who sold me the bed said, 'Oh with this bed, it would be very easy to make your bed.' Well, I was thinking because I saw this on TV that this was what I was gonna get. Now that's not what I wanna get. What he's watched me to do is raise the foot, raise the head, then put the sheets on (the adjustable sheets), and then hit the flatting thing, and it will flatten it out, and it's all done. Well, I hadn't tried it yet till I got back this morning. So I don't know whether that's gonna work or not. It's way too early for me to evaluate this thing. I just got the thing 3 weeks. And in 3 weeks, I ain't got a clue whether I will like it pretty much or not.

The bed was good [the old one]. In fact, I wore out a mattress on the other one that I had. And I went and bought me a new mattress. Now the thing with this was I slept on that mattress. I didn't sleep on it, but I got in the storeroom with the mattress. I laid down there for couple of hours, literally, and it was very comfortable. And for the first years, two years, it was very nice. And then all of a sudden, all hell broke loose and they weren't very comfortable. And it's still uncomfortable. So actually, I could have bought a mattress and put in on the other bed and got on my merry way, but the fact of this is that I had had that and I had run that vibrator. I had raised the bed, lowered the bed, raised the bed, lowered the bed, and there's a certain amount of time where something wears out. So I said ok, I can buy this. Right now, I have a little money. Spend it on the bed that is gonna last me the rest of my life than to have something break a little later and not have the money and be able to pay for. So that's why I bought the bed.

I've already got a friend who is looking at a Craftmatic bed because of me. I just have some issues. This Craftmatic that's all I have were left to me from my mother and they were very hardly used. They are probably one of the original Craftmatics. And my friend had bought a used one, and she's having some issues with the head raising. But I understand they can't diagnose it over the phone and stuff. So that's understandable. This one's about 30 years. It's comfortable. I just love it. My mother's had them for years. My mother bought five of them. She had two twins in the master bedroom. But she never used the master bedroom, just in case people came to stay or something. In the last minute before I sold her home, I decided to take those, and it's the best thing I ever did. I put them together and then used them as a dual king. And they're great. I love that. I love those beds.

I'm getting the best sleep with Craftmatic. I told them mark their Craftmatic. I said I'd mortgage my house if I had to buy another bed. I mean if I didn't have the money, oh yeah. I've never slept so good. And I know they have, like the Tempur-Pedic ones. A friend of mine was looking at those at one time. And I said, 'I don't know. Craftmatic has been around a long time.' And I say, 'I'm really thrilled with mine.' And I say, 'I don't even have to buy them.' My mother bought five of them. I love them. Oh god yeah, I wouldn't recommend anything else.

My experience has been very good. I have no problems. The only thing I had a question was, but Mark didn't know, the newer beds because I'm not familiar with them, because like I said, mine was about 30 years old and mine are hardwired. In other words, just cable directly connected to the remote. I just wonder if that is still an option with Craftmatic, if they're all wireless, and he didn't know. So I think that he's gonna get back to me on that. I was just wondering like for new customers like my one client because she has sleep apnea, and I told her I used to snore a lot too. I used to wake myself up snoring. I'm not that old. And I said ever since I've had these beds, I've had them two years now, I've never had a problem. I said there's a difference between sleeping on two pillows or raising your bed slightly. There's no comparison. They're wonderful. I'm telling you they're worth it. They are worth it. They're worth their weight in gold. They're great. They really are.

There's something to be said about a good night sleep - that is something money can't buy. My knees used to hurt. I'm not heavy or anything. I work outside a lot. And of course, I sit in a desk all day. My knees used to bother me. They haven't bothered ever since I've had these beds. And that's a fact. I look forward to going into bed at night now. I read now. I'm an avid reader now, which I wasn't over two years ago. Yup, I love to go in bed, and I have the TV in there. I have a nice bedroom, you know, cozy and everything. And I just love those beds.

I have six of them. I mean six speaks for itself. I like the mechanism in it, the mattress, how smooth it moves up and down, the vibrator, the heat, everything else. At present we still have six beds. I have a cottage up north. I have two doubles up there. I got two doubles down here, and I got two singles upstairs except for my bedroom. It's been 25 years since I've had my first one, and it's still working. I like the vibrating feature the most... the head's going up and down... the memory, it's good. It's hard because you don't know if like you're really being convinced to that. But the bed is very comfortable. I would recommend it to anybody. I really would. For my issues, like I have little back problems, it depends. Sometimes I thought, it depends on what I did, I'll have pain and stuff like that. And then when I go to sleep, when I wake up it's not there. So it's a good thing. I'd recommend it. I really, really would. I have had my bed since September or November. It's cozy and comfortable.

When I sent them the check, when they got the check, they made the arrangement to send the bed. It was pretty easy. When they came, they took the other bed apart. They took it upstairs and put it together and put the Craftmatic together. And it's the first time I'd been able to sit on the bed and get in bed. My bed was too high. I had to get up on my knees. But I've had two amputations, on either foot. So, it makes it hard since I'm not walking yet in shoes. This makes it a lot easier for me. The nurse recommended that I get a Craftmatic. They measure me to the bed so this way I can get into bed, because I haven't slept in a bed in 6 months.

It's a week (this Friday) that I had it or a little longer. It could be two weeks. I'm not sure on the time. It's less than a month. Well, I'll tell you I talked to somebody else before this here, last week. And I told them it was the best investment I ever made and I wouldn't be afraid to recommend this bed to anybody. It's comfortable. You raise the head, and I raise the legs a little bit for circulation and for sleeping. It's wonderful. Everybody that comes in lies on the bed and says, 'Oh my god, how comfortable it is.'

Within the hour, someone called me. I am very busy. My husband recently had a stroke. I have no time for sales phone calls. I hung up. She called me back and left me a nasty voice mail - told me I was not concerned with my husband’s health and told me to call someone else. When the time comes to buy a bed, it will not be a Craftmatic. This woman whose name was Peggy should not be allowed to contact customers. It upset me greatly and I would appreciate it if management is informed of this woman. This is no way to handle business. I thought Craftmatic was a good reputable company. I guess I was wrong.

I have no problem sleeping. For comfort's sake, I'd raise the head end because I find it far more comfortable than just lying out there flat like a coffin. It's basically when you need it for certain things, the bed itself can be maneuvered to be very therapeutic. We've only had one. We've had it since 2000.

We had problems with it once. They came down from Phoenix, and I think they had to put a new motor in one side. But other than that, there's been no problem with it. I'm definitely happy with the quality of the product. My experience since we've had it has all been extremely positive.

I am a 30 year old mother of two young daughters. I am writing to a few specific companies or individuals that I really appreciate, and am calling this my Project Gratitude. Your company is on my list. Since my surgery five years ago, I have realized how much little things can make a very big difference in people's lives. I have decided to let you know how much of a difference your adjustable bed has made to me.

Five years ago I was diagnosed with a benign brain tumor. I was pregnant with my second daughter at the time (my older daughter, Amelia, was two years old at the time) so I decided to wait until she was born to have surgery. But the tumor grew too fast, threatening both our lives. I had the surgery which left me in a coma for three months. The last thing I was told before surgery was that Piper (my unborn daughter) would have a 99% chance of dying, but now she is a perfect five year old!

While Piper and Amelia are vibrant and healthy, I seem to be having a slightly more difficult time. I lost the ability to speak in a traditional way and have limited ability throughout my body. I am especially frustrated by the fact that I can't really move the muscles in my face that well. I am not able to smile or eat. In addition, my eyesight has been severely impacted, so I can't read the way I used to. Hearing is the only sensory system that is intact. The little things that make life comfortable have taken on new significance, as you can imagine.

It took just about two years after coming home from rehabilitation (where I was for a year after my surgery) for me to have my tiny hospital bed replaced by a Craftmatic double bed. Now my room doesn't look like a hospital room and both of my girls can snuggle with me because they are getting so big!

I just wanted to let you know how much my wonderful Craftmatic Adjustable Bed means to me. It has made my life so much better. Thank you!

But I want a bed that does all that stuff but I don't want to be sickly.' So, that's why I got this. Plus, two or three years ago, I've been up and visited a girl friend and she had a bed and she let me try it out. So, Craftmatic was on the tip of my tongue but it was so expensive that I was like, 'I can't do it. I can't do it.' And then after being in the hospital, I said, 'Hell, I'm going to do it.'

I'm happy I did it. But a lot of times you do without, do without, do without, and I'm 75 years old and I said, 'The hell with it. I'm going to do it.' I just wished I've done it five or ten years earlier. But it was really a healthcare issue that really kind of made me do it. I've had it for about 2 months.

I kind of know the settings because I called yesterday, because I couldn't get the wave action going and then come to find out I was supposed to turn the massage on and then the wave action. Nobody told me that. Anyhow, I did that and it works just fine. So yeah, I'm happy. I just pressed the wave action and I do the flat. I think I've even done the set but I can't remember which one I did. It's been a great experience.

They didn't send a technician over in the beginning to see if it would fit on my platform bed, which it didn't. So after ordering it, the two beds that I ordered had to be returned. However, I did keep two mattresses for the original Craftmatics that I had. I have had those for about a little less than 20 years. I like the fact that they go up and down. My experience was fair. I did get a lot of help from a young man who was sent over from Craftmatic as a technician to measure and realize that it wasn't going to work and he was very, very good in disassembling everything and setting it all up for me for the two original Craftmatics.

Craftmatic Bed - I have left 3 messages, in the past 3 days, with your service center for someone to call me back regarding the remote. It is not working, it sticks. Sometimes it continues to move the bed. Sometimes the remote does not work at all. Sometimes it's on the bedside table and it moves the bed on its own. The most frustrating thing is I received numerous calls a day when I was purchasing the bed but now that I need service, no one is calling me back ... very aggressive sales team, non-existent service team. Please have someone contact me to get this rectified.

I was replacing one that I already had. My old one was 29 years old and it has had it. It's been about two months since I got my new bed. The remote control to raise and lower instead of the wired in one, I like that much better. I'm happy with the price I paid and the product. They delivered when they said they were going to. They came in. They took the old bed away. They set it up and everything and it was a good experience all and all.

It's so nice to be able to adjust the bed any way that you want. One of the main frames, it's nice and firm and comfortable and we never had problem with it. When we initially got it, it is just like it would be a comfortable bed to have and also to watch TV. I have it for at least 20 years. And it's still working great. I like the up and down features. It helps you get out of bed. It's very comfortable and adjustable. It's accessible.

Before we purchased the Craftmatic, we had to prop ourselves up with pillows, backrests and wedges which we were constantly re-adjusting to comfortably watch tv or read in bed. Now we simply are able to adjust the bed to our individual comfort using the wireless remote with a single button press.

We have found that various aches and pains in our backs and legs have been eased considerably due to the ability to raise the bed to any position and the excellent vibration/massage feature. We have been using a Craftmatic bed for over 25 years and we recommend it without reservation.

I bought a new bed four years ago and I paid $2,000 for the bed. It wasn't a Craftmatic and it has driven me absolutely crazy. For four years, I haven't been able to sleep three hours a night, maybe four. It got to a point where it was an absolute nightmare. I quit my job because I couldn't stay awake and I thought it was me. Then, my mother was putting a new bed in one of her rooms of her house and she says, 'I have these two Craftmatic beds. You want to stick them in your room?' And I said yes. So they've been sitting in there for a couple of months. I moved the Craftmatic beds into my room. I'm sleeping eight hours a night now.

Before the new bed was $2,000 and it had a pillow top. It was a great mattress. I would get up in the morning and the first three hours, I could barely walk. My back hurt. My knees hurt. My feet hurt. And I thought it was me. I know I have a bit of arthritis and I thought that's what it was. With this Craftmatic bed, I sleep for eight hours. I could wake up in the morning and run a marathon. I don't even want to get out of bed in the morning. And I don't understand it because on this mattress that I bought at, I finally got two pillow tops and put those on and then my daughter bought me a memory foam and I put that on and nothing helps.

I've been sleeping on the Craftmatic for one week. This is new. And I said to my mother that this is unbelievable. I said, 'The only other bed where I've been able to sleep this well was when you're in Florida a couple of years ago and I looked after your house.' I said, 'I slept on your bed and that was really comfortable.' She said, 'Well, I hate to tell you this but that's a Craftmatic bed too.'

I had to sit there in the room with them and tell them everything that I wanted done and they kept saying, 'We're not supposed to do that. We're not supposed to do that.' Then, I was disappointed. I think the bed was misrepresented to me. I was satisfied with the bed but it's not as represented to me. They told me I would be getting an 11-inch thick mattress and when in fact it arrived, it's 9 inches. And I just don't think it's not as represented to me. It's satisfactory but not what I expected.

I love this. The fellows came on Friday. My niece, she's my godchild and she brought me the book and she said to me, 'Aunt, you got to get this bed. No ifs, ands, or buts.' She said, 'Because your back is bad and you need that,' because I affected my back. I didn't fall. I just went to get something from the refrigerator and that's how I did it. But when I get in that bed and I put the head up and the feet up and put the vibrator on, oh I feel great and then the heat comes out after that. It helps me a lot. I would say everything is excellent. They were wonderful. They took the old bed out too.

When I get in it, I put my head up. I put my legs up and I have arthritis on both knees and my back. I put it on vibrate and this helps me a lot. Then when I shut it off, the heat comes out. And it feels so good and it really helps me a lot. And I'm so glad my niece made me get it. I always tell her, 'If it wasn't for you ...' And she says, 'No, if it wasn't for you ...' I sleep very good in the bed.

I got the bed last week. And I loved it. So I have my Craftmatic about maybe 20 or 25 percent degree and since I got it, it's been fabulous. My issue with it is that when I ordered it, the gentleman, his name was Ross, asked me how high my existing bed was, and it was 30 and 1/2 inches. And this one is too short and I just got some. About 10 minutes ago, I bought from some lady, extensions came in. I don't know if I could install these things because I'm 74 years old and I walk by cane. But other than that, I'm very happy with the bed. But getting out of it is difficult for me. I had to raise it up.

They showed me the remotes, etc. But my concern was when they installed it, I was asked how high the bed was and this does not measure up to what we had talked about. It's got to be higher, I guess. Because of my back condition, I had difficulty getting out of it when it's being so low. In fact, I'm always tempted to sleep in the other bed until I can get these extensions. Now, I hope I could put these extensions in.

Well, I'm very happy for it. If I can get it to right height, I'll be absolutely in heaven. I mean I've got to raise the bed up one way or the other. I was disappointed because I said it's got to be at least 31 inches, about 30 and 1/2, 31 inches high and it's not. It's 24 inches right now.

With the heat pads, which I love, which I absolutely love, it is such a wonderful thing. I would just tell and I did talk to anybody who have not had a good night's sleep, and I could feel that if you just position yourself and slept in this Craftmatic Bed and put it on vibrate in just half an hour, you're asleep before it goes off. The mattress was terrible, the bed was cheaply made and they had the nerve to charge $800 more than I paid for my new Craftmatic. They even tried to charge me another $500 to replace the mattress. It took over two months of fighting with them to try and get my money back. When my daughter threated to sue them I got my money back the next day. I love my new Craftmatic. They informed me that they did have a new model like that and they gave me a good price since we were old time Craftmatic customers. And it was delivered on time. It was a painless delivery. We ran into a little bit of a problem with casters, and I think Craftmatic really expended themselves in trying to satisfy us. We were looking for a specific height and the casters they sent were okay, but they were unable to roll on a wooden floor if you follow what I mean. Well, I asked for a better quality of caster, and they said sorry these are the only ones they have and they gave us rubber cups to put under the wheels. I said, "Well, this is great but we are a couple of old folks. Uhh, to pick the bed up off the cups onto the floor to get it to roll, we don't have the strength to do." I mean maybe 20 years ago I could have done it without a problem. Today, I am lucky if I can even pick myself up.

I said, "Well, don't you have casters that are a rubber or like a polyethylene or something that are made or rolling on a wooden floor?" And I said, "Well, tell me about the caster that's on there, what size thread and stuff." She said, "Well how much will it cost?" I told her that I did buy some for the chairs we have and they were 19.95 cents apiece. She turned around and was very honest and said, "I'll tell you what, I'll give you a credit to get 8 casters." And I thought they were trying too hard to satisfy me that that was great! And the guys that delivered it, those guys they were light hearted, a little bit entertaining. They were crafty. They did a good job for us. When we asked to have the old beds taken out and the new beds taken in, they just accompanied us fine. My experience has been great!

I've had a Craftmatic bed for 35 years. I would not change that bed for anything in this world. Once I like a product, I am with you for life, once you please me. In my first 5 years of marriage, I think that my husband and I went through about ten beds with the mattress. And I was spending thousands and thousands on these mattresses. One day these two men showed up at my door. I am going back 35 years because they don't sell door to door anymore; it's all on computers. These two men walked in and told me about Cratmatic beds and they demonstrated it to me and the whole 9 yards. I said, "You know it's very expensive." And he said, "Miss, you will not be not satisfied." I said okay. Well, I figured, "What the heck. I mean I'm spending so much money on these mattresses anyway. I might as well spend a little more money and see how good this mattress is."

I mean 35 years later I still have the same mattress on my bed, and it still works, and the motor is still good! I still have my remote control and all I have to do is put batteries in every so often to keep it going. It's the best bed that I've ever had. And now after 35 years, I think I'm entitled to a new one and I hope this new one that I get will last me another 35 years because I'm hoping to be dead because my bed goes out, because I'm already 60. How long do you think I have to live?!

Craftmatic - anytime you need a bed. Please don't go to Sleepy's; they are a rip-off! If you're buying a mattress, don't go to Sleepy's. You'll be sorry because they promise you everything. Then as soon as they deliver your mattress, you're history to them. They don't even want to know you when you go back with a problem. They are terrible people. But Craftmatic bed, you want a great bed to sleep in. The mattress is soft on one side. You can reverse it or you can turn it over. You spend a little bit more money but you'll have it a lifetime!

My first bed, I had for 19 years. This is my second one and I got it today. The first thing I noticed was the material that was around the mattress and the box springs. The first one, the material was slick and I had to the keep cushion material between the mattress and the box spring to keep it from slipping. But the material came with the first bed. They have changed the material so now that is not necessary. The mattress is bigger and deeper. I took a nap on it already. It was very comfortable

The control for the head and the foot and the vibrator or massager is wireless now, so I didn’t have to worry about finding a place to plug it in. All in all, I am very happy with it. The metal at the foot of the bed, it keeps the mattress from sliding off - a nice basic chrome plated steel, whereas my old on … Ohhh man, that was horrible and it stuck out far from the bed and I was forever bumping into it!

The buttons are lit up whenever you mash them so in the middle of the night when I decide to adjust the bed, that will be easier to see and I always keep the head of my bed up a little bit, because I have problems. I always raise the head and the foot a little bit so I don’t slide down.

And oh my gosh, I can't believe the difference for him. It’s fantastic! It can get him in different positions and stretch him a little bit. It makes him so happy. I think all disabled kids and adults like Cody should have one - better than the hospital beds! And it looks nicer than a hospital bed. I’m never happy with the price I paid. I mean come on, in today’s economy… But yes I am very happy with the product, yes, very very!

The ordering process was great. The guy was very helpful with the explaining and everything else. But we had a problem in the beginning: when they shipped the mattress, they shipped a different one than I wanted. It hurt him. He cried all night long. He was just in so much pain because of the mattress, and it took awhile to get another mattress here. But it was really sweet because I didn’t have to pay the shipping charge for returning the other mattress. I mean it as your guys’ fault. I said I wanted the one that was the firmest one and you didn’t give me your firmest one.

Dealing with the people was really helpful, really easy, and they were easy-going. They are just very helpful to help you - that was just amazing. Doing stuff like this over the internet is very confusing for me. Craftmatic bed: I would never be without one! And I recommend it to everybody!

I was very sick and I got a Craftmatic bed. And boy, I enjoyed it. It was really great. It was fantastic. I'm now using oxygen so my head has to be up my legs have to be up. It's perfect for me. My back sometimes hurts me in my rear end and I use the massage and oh, it's just relaxing me, so it makes me feel like a million dollars.

Recently, the opposition got stuck and I cannot live without it, so we ordered 2 new beds, 2 new Craftmatic 'cause I love it so much. What's funny, somebody came over and he said, “You know it's just a loose wire. You could tie that up and it'll work.” I already ordered new. I was gonna get a new mattress anyway so I figured, “Well, we'll just get the whole new bed.” I just tell my significant other how wonderful it is. And he says, “Oh, I wanna reuse my legs too.” So, I said, “Well, you have two of them.”

I really enjoyed it because sometimes I have trouble getting out of bed, so I just pick myself up and then get out easily. It's really very good. I like it a lot. I would recommend it to anybody though. Whether you're sick or not, you can use a bed like that. I may look funny with my head up, my legs up but... yeah oh man, I'm so comfortable. No matter how many aches and pains I have, it seems it gets less. Whenever I take a shower or whenever I lay down the bed, the pain seems to get less, especially our bed - it's really comfortable.

I was very happy with the price I received. At first I thought it was kind of odd. But then when I started using it, I would've paid twice the amount of money I paid. It's really funny sometimes you don't realize how good something is until you don't have it. Like one time I was on the ebay, and I sold this guy a white cane, and he called me up and he said, “You got some nerve, charged me that much for shipping and handling.” When he got it, he wrote me back the email and he said, “You know what, you undercharged me. I never realized it was a heavy duty good one.” Because sometimes I have these flimsy ones, that are real light and nothing; this one's a real good one. It's a real good steady one.

When I buy something, I try to buy good quality for that's the way it's gonna be good. But I really enjoyed it for years, it helped me. I would make it get elevated - my legs will up too. And I have to have it elevated and before you see is pillow, then the pillows will follow up and get up. This one you just press the button and it goes up. It was really great. I said, “Oh my God, I can't go without it.” I said, “Well, let's stock up, get another one.” The guy fixed it. I would highly recommend it. I love it.

The mattresses are even better than the mattresses that you can get in the stores for the flat bed. They're much more comfortable. One side is like hard and the other side is like medium, so you can easily use whichever your preference is. For years the regular bed, I used to put a board on the knees to keep it firm. But this is really good. I like it a lot.

Thank goodness for my husband researching on ConsumerAffairs about Craftmatic adjustable beds. We were going to purchase one after we had a salesperson do his demo with talks and a DVD demo. He kept avoiding the total price and then finally told us $17,990 for the top of the range model. Astounded, we said no way. Then he made a phone call to his "superior" and said he had explained our situation and would drop the price to $10,000. We still refused, so he made another call to his "higher superior" that said if I told no one, he could do a deal for $7,000 if we signed on the spot right there and then. Really, from $17,000 to $7,000? We said we'd discuss this when he left.

He said the deal was only if we signed there and then. We refused, so one more phone to whoever and the result was we have just overnight to think about it. After all that and now our research, there’s no way would we touch them with a 10' pole. This is a shoddy company - pressured selling, lies and no aftersales service. My heart goes out to the old people that believe this is their savior to better sleep and then everything falls apart with no "lifetime warranty" as promised. This company should be shut down now!

This is not Craftmatic beds. Craftmatic has not been sold in home since 2007. Craftmatic is ONLY sold direct from our Pompano Beach, Florida office. If someone contacts you or comes to your home, get identification and be very sure of what you are buying and who you are buying it from. Craftmatic has been selling adjustable beds for nearly 40 years and many owners of adjustable beds falsely believe they own a Craftmatic. We DO NOT have any models that could come anywhere near even half of that price.

I just want to tell you how much I am enjoying my new Craftmatic bed. It is higher than my old one. The control is much easier to use and to keep handy. Needless to say after 30 years (I bought it in 1982), the mattress left something to be desired. In December I was very ill and had trouble sleeping. I promised myself a new mattress, but surprise, surprise... I got two new beds. I originally bought twin beds as my husband was very ill (required 3-4 pillows). A friend told me about Craftmatic. After checking them out, I got them. I have not been sorry in all of these years.

Below is a complaint I wrote in January about the massage motor on my Craftmatic bed. Craftmatic's response is an email telling me they were going to contact me about getting me a motor. Just letting you know that these responses are as bogus as the warranty since I was never contacted by anyone and still have no motor! Upon becoming disabled in 2004, I spent $8,000 to get a top of the line split king Craftmatic bed. A few years ago, the motor quit on my massager. I contacted Contour and I had to send them the old motor and $30, and I got the replacement.

It's now gone out again and I called them for the replacement (which is under a lifetime warranty) and they informed me they were no longer honoring Craftmatic warranties and the motor would be $149 plus shipping. They said now that Craftmatic is back in business, they are no longer honoring the warranties that they were honoring when Craftmatic was out of business! I then called Craftmatic who informed me that Contour is handling their warranties, and around and around and back and forth I've gone with no solution to get someone to honor the warranty on this motor (which I have in writing). They should be ashamed of themselves selling such a high priced product and then not honoring the lifetime warranties, which of course is part of the sales pitch when they want you to buy one! We purchased our Craftmatic bed app. 10 years ago. I did not want it; my husband did because of the lift at the head of the bed. I, like many others, feel this bed is a glorified hospital bed. Now my husband’s bed is broken down on the outside and makes him feel like he is rolling off. The beds have never been what they are made out to be at all. The mattresses do not match. The rails at the foot of the bed do not match. They had to come and replace the motor on his bed, because whoever the idiots were that put it together put it on backwards. When they delivered the beds, the mattresses were of different heights so when they put them together, one was higher than the other and they felt that wouldn't be a problem. After we said "yes, it would" they brought us another one a few weeks later. The man that brought them just couldn't understand why I did not like the bed. I was also promised two pillows because of the problems, but to this day I have yet to receive them. I was also told I would be in a commercial for the beds. Can you wonder why I was never contacted?! I would bet I will never hear from you, but if you do contact me, we want a new bed or our money back.

It plainly states in the warranty that everything is covered for ten to fifteen years and for the first ten years. All I have to pay is fifty dollars for the home service. All parts are still under warranty but there is nowhere I can find anyone who will recognize this warranty. I ordered a bed online. Before delivery, I was told by my mother's nursing home that they needed to have the specs before the bed could be delivered to my mother’s room. I called to get the specs, but the sales people I spoke with didn't know the answers. Eric of Craftmatic offered to speak with the nursing home and told me that he could provide them with the specs they needed. After Eric spoke with the nursing home, he told me that another type of bed, a low bed should have been ordered.

So Eric made the change. When the low bed was delivered to the nursing home, my mother was not able to get into it. It was too high! My mom is 86 years old and very disabled. The delivery people took the bed away with them immediately. Craftmatic did not return all of the money we had paid—they kept $290 for each bed, calling it a re-stocking fee. We were never at any time told that this could happen. There was no paperwork that stated this policy. Can they really keep $780 of my mother’s money like that? Is that even lawful?

Mrs. Moulton you ordered and released a normal adjustable bed. After it was released by you , you called saying it may not meet the specifications of your mother's nursing home. After numerous attempts we reached the nursing home which informed us the bed must be a hi lo adjustable bed despite that your mom dd not need such a bed. But this was their requirement. We had to reroute the bed you released back to the factory which cost $390 per the terms explained verbally and emailed to you. We then shipped your mom a hi lo bed. Upon delivery your mom wanted it to go lower than was possibly. Thus it was sent back to the factory at a cost of $390 per the terms of the sale explained both verbally and in writing. These are real cost caused by you not knowing what you needed to order which you had previously expressed was the fault of the nursing home not telling you what they required and what the Hi lo others there had that your mom wanted to match. All of this was explained beforehand verbally and in writing.

We had been happy Craftmatic owners for nearly 30 years. About 6 years ago, we replaced our mattresses (split queen). They seem to be wearing out sooner than the old ones, seeming to have a dip in the center, even though we flipped and rotated the mattresses regularly. We finally bought a 4" foam mattress topper that seems to work well, though that shouldn't have been necessary. About 2 years ago, we replaced our foundations. A few months ago, I heard a loud cracking noise when I lowered the head. This continued for a few weeks, then it stopped.

Now, the head of my bed doesn't raise or lower evenly. I have called several times, but I have not gotten a call back. Also, the wave massage feature on my remote doesn't work. This is very disturbing to us, as we have never had problems with Craftmatic customer service in the past. We really need the lift features and support of the extra firm mattresses, as we both have severe arthritis and other health problems. We are not sleeping well, and it is difficult putting in a full day's work after a restless night.

As I said, I called several times, but I haven't heard anything from customer service. We have always highly recommended Craftmatic in the past, but I'm afraid this lack of response is lowering our opinion of the company. The mattresses, foundations, motors, and remotes have long warranties, which were always honored. We would like to hear from you as soon as possible to rectify these problems. We really don't want to have to go the legal route, and we hope that won't be necessary.

The lady asked him if he had a power outage in the house, and he, I am assuming said yes, (again, he is 77 and does not even remember the conversation, and remember that he called).

They told him that they are not covering the beds, that Craftmatic is out of business, and he was out of luck, and had to pay $150 for the service call, and $145 for the brain for each bed. I just called them, and spoke with a Dianne **, who is supposed to be the customer service manager, and she all but told me to stick it! I want a copy of the recorded conversation. She was nasty, would not let me speak, told me to take it up with Craftmatic themselves, that they are not covering the beds, and how dare I ask to speak with a manager.

When I asked to speak with her manager or get a name of who was over her, she told me that she would not give me that information. I informed her that I would have an attorney call, and she told me that she would not give him the information, that he can talk to their corporate attorney. Every time I tried to speak, she told me to be quiet, and that she would not speak with me, as I was not her consumer. I advised her that I am in charge of taking care of all their information. I even tried to get her to talk to Mr. or Mrs. **, and she refused to talk to them.

All we want is for them to fix the motors of the beds, that came with a lifetime warranty. When she pulled up the conversation that Mr. **, again 77 and has mesothelioma and kidney failure, she said she will not help as he said they had a power outage. I tried to explain to this nasty woman that he was not explaining it right, and to please send someone out to look at the beds. She told me fine, pay $150.00 and they would, but that they are not sending anyone, nor covering the beds!

This woman would not even let me speak, nor did she have any sort of customer service skills, nor did she care. When I asked again for her manager, she told me no, that she reports directly to the president of the company, and she was not going to give me his name, and hung up on me. At this point, the next step is a report to an attorney for taking advantage of the elderly! I do want an attorney to contact me at this point!

You ordered two 39 x 80 Adjustable Beds and mattresses but you actually owned, to your own surprise a 78 x 84 bed frame. We shipped you the correct merchandise based upon your specifications. Thus the beds were 4" shorter than the frame. That was the cause of the problem. Furthermore, we offered to exchange the beds for the larger size at no cost to you even though it was not our error. Despite our generosity, you elected to return the beds instead of receiving the corrected size. Furthermore, we made an exception for you by allowing an early return as an extended courtesy. She asked to use my phone. She told the person she was talking to, it was a matter of money. Then, she gave me some other prices and just used my phone again. She came down on the prices to $2500. I asked where I could try the beds to see the comfort of them. She said I could not. I had to purchase one and they would ship it. I asked her to leave. At that time, she became irate again. We purchased a Craftmatic Bed approximately 6-8 years ago. We had the bed a short time before a technician had to come by, and he decided to change the mattress. This was done several times. After that, the motor went with the head and foot of the mattress raised and the middle sunk in. We also are elderly people. This company has taken advantage of the senior citizens. Contour or whoever purchased the company should have checked them out before purchasing them. They should be responsible for either making the beds so they work properly, or returning part of the money that was used to purchase these beds to the purchasers. I have no back problems, no problems with my legs or walking or sitting, and I fell out of this bed.

My husband (who does have problems) also fell out of this bed. This is a dangerous situation. If they cannot help these people without charging them a bundle, there should be some good lawyers willing to help bring a lawsuit against the company that purchased Craftmatic. At this point, Contour should be held responsible for what is happening with these "sorry" beds. Obviously, Contour does not care.

Purchased their very expensive king-size bed, which is really just two twins shoved together, with a "lifetime" warranty a few years ago. The mattress "heating system" was a heated mattress pad (seriously?). The massage system so loud it is annoying. But I kept the bed because I needed the elevated headboard. Now, the mattresses are totally warped, big sink holes in the center (though they were turned regularly) and the side of one slants so much that I feel like I'm falling off it. The other mattress is so broken down that when I sit on it I "hit bottom".

The company adds insult to injury by not honoring their "lifetime warranty" (not that I'd want another one of their cheap mattresses) and then my mattress added insult to injury when a wire along the edge popped out and cut my leg. We thought we were buying quality but what a joke! If there is ever a class-action suit filed against the company I'd love to be a part of it. However, selling out to Contour (or just changing the name and structure of the company), I don't even know if they could be held legally accountable.

I'm lodging this complaint for my 80-year-old father. A little over 4 years ago, he allowed a sales rep into his home. Unfortunately, I didn't know of this until after he already signed on the dotted line and had the bed delivered and set up. This bed is a joke. The mattress wore out after only maybe a couple of years. He was the only person that slept in it. This company is a rip off and they need to be shut down and punished.

My father was fortunate enough to qualify for a nice adjustable hospital bed through the VA Medical Center. And guess what? If he has any problems with it, we can call and in no time they are here. The best part is that there is no cost to him. I so wish I had been here that day. I would have told that lady to take a hike and not come back. Shame on her and every deceitful person that work or have worked for them! I hope they can sleep at night and live with their wicked deceitful selves. No judgment will come from me because God will be their judge on Judgment Day.

The first bed I purchased from Craftmatic was in 2004. The purchase price for the bed with an orthopedic mattress was $3000. This bed came with a comfortable mattress and a full-size box spring/mattress pad. No problem with the first bed.

In Aug. 2007, I had a fire in my home and I had to replace the bed. The new bed was delivered Nov. 6, 2007. When the bed was set up, I immediately asked the tech about the box spring or padding that was comparable to the size of the mattress. His response was that the design had been changed. What the bed consist of is a metal frame with a thin pad over it to support a full-size mattress, and this doesn't support the mattress. Therefore, I now have a mattress that is protruding on one side. Also, the mattress is sinking in the middle.

Approximately on the third week of Nov. 2010, I contacted Craftmatic on the same phone number I dialed in 2007 to discuss the existing problem I am having with this poorly constructed bed. At this time, I was calling to exercise the use of the lifetime warranty on the mattress that was told to me at the time of purchase. I was informed that I would have to pay $400 for a new mattress plus service fees. During this discussion, I didn't know Craftmatic was owned by Contour. I found this out upon reading the complaints on the website.

Every one of us who has purchased from Craftmatic is an elderly person on a fixed income. It is apparent that this company has deceived many seniors by not being consistent in the amount that was charged for the same bed. Also, everything about their business practices needs to be investigated.

The first call I received, 6/22/10, at 9:23 a.m, a woman called and told me that she had a $500 gift certificate for me. She was interested to know what kind of bed I had. I told her I had a bed like CraftMatic. She wanted to know if it would be okay if she sent a salesman to our home. I told her that it would be okay. Then, on the same day, 6/22/10, at 9:4 2a.m., another woman called to verify that appointment. Then, later that morning, my husband calls me from work (he does everyday on his break time). He says that he has to work late on the day that I set that appointment up for. He said call them. I didn't even get the time to call them, and at 10:17a.m., on this same day, another woman calls from CraftMatic, again, verifying the appointment. I told her that we could not keep that appointment and we'd have to reschedule it. We did that.

When my husband got home from work, 2:30 p.m. (he works at the foundry), he told me he didn't have to work that day after all. Then, this same day, I noticed on the refrigerator, was a doctor's appointment for the same time that we rescheduled that appointment for. My husband had a near heart attack just a couple months before this and he needed a stent put in, so it was important he didn't miss this appointment with the doctor. I was going to call them back the next day, but before I was able to do so again they, CraftMatic, called me (6/23/10 at 8:34 a.m.). She was just calling to verify this new appointment. I told her that I couldn't keep that appointment. And after my husband and I had a night to sleep on it, we decided we could not afford to go into such a cash venture like this, at this time. The lady was really polite. I told her about his doctor's appointment and why, and she said, "I understand", and then we said, goodbye.

On 6/24/10, at 10:23 a.m., the salesman that we were suppose to have the appointment with calls and I told him that I've had 4 or 5 phone calls from his company already, and that I had canceled that appointment, and I told him it was because my husband had to see the doctor. He said, "I thought you canceled because of his work. Now which is it? You are a liar, aren't you Mrs. S.?! It is impossible to have that many phone calls from us! I don't believe you." At this point, I was so angry I said, “Take me off your calling list,” and I hung up. At 10:24 a.m. he calls back and says, “You don't have to lie to me,” and I said, “Don't you understand what I said?” And I hung up on him again. At 10:25 a.m. he calls back for the third time and says, "I'm taking you off our calling list, forever!” I said, "Thank God,” and I hung up again. I was so upset when he called me for the third time. I was crying and I was shaking because I was so angry. I cannot understand how a company can hire people like this to work for them. I doubt if anything can be done because it's just my word against his and I don't even remember his name. I just have a log of the phone calls and the dates. I just wish someone could do something about getting this person fired because he absolutely should not be doing this job! He's a disgrace to humanity and he shouldn't be working with the public!

I stood by my guns and refused to buy that day and said I would consider it for a later purchase, after I researched the product some more. He also gave me a $500 gift certificate for my wife and I. To my dismay, the bad items they have for free are not worth the shipping and handling you have to pay to get the so called "free items". My husband is still paying for our Craftmatic bed. A salesman came to our house and guaranteed that my back problems would be eliminated if we buy a Craftmatic bed. He showed us video and sold us the bed on discount. Prior to our purchase, I slept in the recliner because our queen-size bed kept me in pain. I should have kept that old recliner.

I was told in 1990, I had scoliosis. I never accepted the truth until after we purchased the craftmatic. That salesmen lied my back condition worsened. In January 2009, I started having problems standing my bed sagged in the middle and I could only stand for approximately minutes at a time. I had to keep switching the mattress over. My hip and lower back pained. Last month, I discovered why I couldn't stand long. I have Dypsnea, shortness of breath because the thoracic area of my spine is not located on the right side of my back. As of March of 2010, I had to start seeing a Pulmonary doctor. Last week, she said my chest x-rays are negative, my blood gas test was negative, and my spine is reducing the volume of my lungs. I have to prop my bed on the left side of the mattress will a pillow otherwise I will roll out of bed.

I have to sleep toward the middle of the bed, next to my husbands Craftmatic bed, so I want to roll out of bed again. I have fallen out of bed several time. My mattress sinks in the middle and sags to the right. The curvature of my spine sits in that spot. Until now, I thought the back situation was mostly just me. I pained in the beginning but eventually I grew use to sleeping in our new bed. My husband told me that it might not correct my spine. He was right. All of my spinal problems came home to roost last year, I tried my best to sleep in the middle of the bed next to my husband to avoid the giant sinkhold in the middle of my bed or sleep on the outer edge, but I started falling out of bed but now my bed is one-sided. The highest side is next to my husband and directly underneath the curve in my spine.

Before buying this bed I couldn't feel the curve in my spine, now it feels like my pelvis has moved up to middle of my back. If I bend over I feel it. Whenever I am hurting it is always in that spot. I never contacted Craftmatic because my husband said they probably wouldnt trade our old mattresses for new ones. I don't believe that it is alright to con someone in to buying a bed. Because of their lies, I have to have back surgery and be under the care of a pulmonology and orthopedic doctor for the rest of my life. They should pay for my doctor bills because I don't have insurance, medicaid, medicare or health insurance and my husband has to pay my medical bills because I can't work. Meanwhile Craftmatic is still withdrawing bed payments from my husband's account each month and I am still hurting. We purchased this bed in California and moved to Iowa. The toll on the Statute of limitations should still be in effect. The shortness of breath, exertion, and inability to stand began January, 2009.

I got a call from Craftmatic that they were going to be in our area and would like to stop by to show us info on the beds. The appointment was for 6 pm, but when no one showed up. I contacted the company and got a real nasty person who told me they had no one in our area. i was not only mad; I suggested no one use that company again. They don't know what is going on in their own sales offices.

The heating is not provided (case of fraudulent misrepresentation), wave massage is also not provided (as above). Also, half the buttons are not operational and there's no manual provided.

This is my second complaint. The first is that the bed is extremely uncomfortable, and I was told it would help my back. Now I have written to the company about the fact that the mattress is tilted, and it feels like I'm going to slide out of the bed. Since I wrote to them a few weeks ago about that, I have now lost the use of the remote. My bed is now stuck in a position that I cannot sleep in. I was trying to get it to work, and was adjusting it when it quit! I put in new batteries, and checked all outlets, with no success. Now I have no bed! I wrote and told them to come get their piece of junk, with no response. I am going to send out another letter today. I have quit making payments on this bed. I already had to replace the motor once, for the massage. The new one is so loud, I can't stand to use it!

She never did call or show up. I come to find out that the $500 gift certificate she told me about is supposed to be used on the bed and not for anything else. She was not specific about the gift certificate. She made it sound like it was a regular gift certificate that you can use on anything you wanted and she was a no call and no show. I waited and waited for her to show up, but she didn't have the decency to call me and let me know that she wasn't able to come.

I talked with the supervisor on the phone. He apologized for her actions, I told him about the $500 gift certificate and he was the one that told me that the $500 gift certificate is used on the bed. It wasn't a Walmart or any other kind of gift certificate and then he tried to sell me a Craftmatic Bed, I told I didn't want one and so I hung up.

We filled out the postcard that said win a free bed in May 2007. The man came out and tried to get us to try a bed. He even put his manager on the phone and he practically begged us to buy this bed, which we knew we couldn't afford. He offered us all kinds of deals and payment plans, but we stood our grounds and did not buy. Now I'm reading all these complaints. I'm glad we followed our first minds. Then we received the $500 gift certificate for just letting them come out and demonstrate this bed. Each time I went to the website to try to redeem it, they had all these weird things that no one in their right mind would buy.

Finally, I came upon a few items and I ordered them, but you had to pay for the shipping and handling, which ended up costing as much as the items were worth. So to me, this was really a ripoff. The categories they had never matched the merchandise offered. I know I don't have as much of a claim as those who actually bought these beds and I really feel for them. I'm so happy God gave me the insight not to go with a purchase of this bed. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to let our voices be heard.

The company was then sold to Contours of New England sometime around September 2008. I completed the payments on 2/17/2009 by personal check of $655.00. Larry ** was the man in charge that I spoke with. He told me that they, whoever they are, would call and set up a delivery date. I waited for at least two weeks and nothing happened. I called back only to be told they would be calling, but they never did.

On March 20th or so I tried again to find out when the delivery would be made. The secretary said they would call Tuesday and make the delivery on Wednesday. I called on Wednesday and his employee stated that they had problems with the truck. My bill is paid in full now. A check that was sent in January, which I had forgotten about, was received on 4/7/09 and it was made out to Contours of New England. They have been giving me the runaround. Several years ago, we were high pressured into buying twin Craftmatic beds in excess of $6,000 to replace our old king bed. I won't repeat the criminal techniques this company uses to sell their product for over twice a realistic value because thousands of complaints, several lawsuits, state and federal investigations, and now a senate investigation addresses these issues.

The problem I have encountered was getting this outfit to resolve problems with squeaky nylon bearing at pivot joints. When they came out, they used WD40 on the joints which was only temporary and collected dust making a greasy mess under the bed. The problem finally resolved when the bearing wore enough and loosened up. I found the company service reps very rude and trying to paint themselves as victims. Anyway, that was a few years ago. The beds worked out fine for my inner ear problem since I have to sleep with my upper body elevated. I wish I had bought from a different company that charged a fair price and offered replacement parts.

My current complaint is the controls have worn out and don't work due to bad connections. I want to purchase new controls, but the phone numbers I had for repair are no longer in service. One toll free numbers says to call another number and pay $5.49 a minute. What crooks! I finally found toll free numbers that you have to leave a message on for consumer relations for Contour beds. I have yet to get a call back. Another complaint is we never got replacement mattresses as promised in a year trial period. Another complaint is the joke of a massage device they charge hundreds for with the fraudulent idea it gives you the same feeling the back massage they give you with their criminal sales interrogation does.

Their website gives no information on how to get replacement parts or have them honor the lifetime warranty on the motors. I am in favor of a federal lawsuit against these criminals demanding that they refund at least half the purchase price to everyone that has purchased one of their beds, give a contact toll free number on all their ads and offer replacement parts at a fair fixed price or refund all the purchase price of the beds. The owners of this company need to serve some federal jail time for premeditated fraud. Why has this company been allowed to continue? Does anyone know where to get replacement parts or how I can sue for money back to repair the beds without cost to me for the lawsuit? I have no problem paying a fair price for replacement parts. But one would think for $6,000, these beds would last at least 20 years.

It needs to be published on the internet that if you ask the sales rep or hit person to leave, they must do so immediately or you need to call the police and have them removed. Any elderly should always have another person present when these crooks show up. Also, many stores carry adjustable beds from reputable manufacturers now and they offer trial periods, etc. Craftmatic or Contour or whatever name they switch to should be exposed on national TV, newspapers, and the internet. They have to cease to exist.

I foolishly sent in a postcard saying "Win a Craftmatic bed". Before I knew, it was a scam. A saleswoman was at my door. She stayed over 4 hours badgering me & using the tactic of the price is lowered for this sales campaign only. I was so exhausted I agreed to buy a full-sized bed for $3990 which I could ill afford. This was on a Friday. She told me the bed would be delivered the following Monday. I told her I needed more time to get rid of my current bed. "No," she said; they had a schedule to keep and the bed had to be delivered that day. I was never told I had a trial period.

To make a long story short, the bed arrived in 3 days & I had nowhere to put it. The men refused to take it back and squeezed it in my garage. A month later, they came back and set it up. Since then I have not had a decent night's sleep. I have fallen off the mattress twice & have been stuck on the floor until help came. The mattress is too hard & hurts the joints that come in contact. When I complained of this to the company, their attitude was this was not their problem. I was forced to spend another $200 for a thick foam pad to try and make it softer. I just tried to make the best of it. But now, the mechanical part is not working. It is dead, not moving up or down and no massage.

I cannot find a phone # to call for service either online or phone information. I am still paying off this stupid bed & it is hurting me physically & financially. I do not know what recourse I have. If you have any suggestions, I am looking forward to hearing them. Please stop these people from preying on the elderly and disabled (I am both).

Back in October of 2007, I was shopping for a Tempur-Pedic bed and asked THEM to send information and/or a representative. Their deal was to try it for three months and then I could work out a payment schedule of 20-50 dollars a month for the queen size that I wanted. I admit that at the time I was still going through the post traumatic stress of losing my fiance and was drinking to excess. The man that came in the middle of a work week was sitting talking to my mother who is 83 and not well educated. In the inebriated state I was at the time and tired trying to stay employed, sleeping better and getting rid of the bed that had memories tied to it was welcome.

Although I repeated all the details of why I liked the TEMPUR-PEDIC bed, I got a yes man leading me to believe that was what I was getting. I had a 2 week opening to refuse the bed and during that time called the man 3 times to have him remove the bed as it had been the most uncomfortable sleep I had ever gotten without response. The complaint that I made was received with, "Sometimes they do that". NOW the bed has malfunctioned and is such looking like what I call a taco bed, both sides up in the air which happened in a locked bedroom while at work in the city.

I was told that it would cost me $145 (junction box) plus $150 service or I could unscrew the arm to the bed to lay it flat. Besides the fact that as I was drinking during this process, I missed that the bed cost 4000ish dollars, something I would never agree to sober. The actual bed that I wanted cost a little over $1000.

While trying to find a phone number for Craftmatic Beds over the internet, I ran across the Consumer Complaints and this form. I never thought that I would hear that so many folks are experiencing the same problems I did with Craftmatic Beds. After reading a few of them, I was anxious to share my story also. I've been in a very desperate situation since I purchased my queen size Craftmatic bed on 2/5/2005. Even though I told the two delivery men that I thought that the bed looked lopsided, they didn't seem to think that it was much of an issue.

I don't remember when I first called to complain about it. I did make a note of the call I made to them on 12/1/05. I called Customer Service and told them that my bed was lopsided and that I was not comfortable sleeping in it. I spoke to a lady who stated her name was Leah. She told me to turn the mattress over and switch the bottom to the top which I did with a struggle. This did not work. They really gave me the impression that they did not want to be bothered. What I did to make the bed somewhat even, I took two throw pillows and put them between the two mattresses on the left side of the bed (the pillows are still there...looking disgraceful). I have not felt comfortable in the bed since the purchase. I am still trying to figure out how to get in touch with them to correct this issue.

I was interviewing a client at the Dept. of Public Welfare about 6-8 months ago who told me that he had worked for Craftmatic Beds prior to the company's move to Maryland and change of name. I believe their name now is TriState Bedding. I don't know if this is the exact name given to me by my client. I happened to tell him that I have not had a good night's rest since the purchase. He said that he believed me and that he was one of the workers who put the beds together. He told me that the materials that were used and sold to the clients of Craftmatic Beds were not always new and that the bed(s) were often refurbished. Of course, that conversation made me once again feel the anger and pain from sleepless nights that I have endured for the past four years. He agreed at that time to give me the support I needed if and when I could bring this matter before consumer rights. I believe I have many more problems than I had before I purchased the bed.

We were looking to buy a bed and had called several different companies. When we called Craftmatic, I told them that my husband and I both had health problems. They listened and promised that their bed would help us, and explained to us why their bed would be better than select comfort, and therapeutic. Then, when we decided that we may be interested, the rep talked us into a king-size bed and said it would be better for us and would cost the same as a queen.

When I found out that the king was actually 2 twins pushed together, I was concerned and told the rep that my husband and I slept close together, and that I was concerned that the gap between the 2 beds would not work for us. He said he and his wife had the same bed and that we would never notice the gap, and that the queen would not work for us because if I wanted to raise my side of the bed, it would also raise my husband's side. This made sense to me then, but I still questioned him about the gap. He promised again then that we would not notice it. I trusted this after he said to try it for 30 days and see how it worked.

We made 2 checks out - one was down payment, the other half was to be paid in full on the day we got the bed. I've had to have my mattress changed. They did send me one but never received one for my husband or any more for me. When I had called and told them that I couldn't sleep on the 2nd one either after about a week, and that my husband never got his replacement mattress, they assured me that my husband's was on its way and that I need to give mine at least 30 days. I kept calling them with no answer.

Now we are stuck with a bed that we gave almost $6,000.00 for and can't use. The mattresses are sagging in the middle and all around uncomfortable. Our backs hurt worse and we both feel we've been ripped off. When I called to tell them that our mattresses were sagging, they wanted me to buy new ones. Haha, as if they didn't get enough from us already.

Then they changed their name to comfort something or another and called me, wanting to set an appointment to sell me another bed. I told them I already had one that I couldn't sleep on and for them to take me off their call list, and that I was on the Missouri no call list, and they told me to stop sending them post cards requesting information on their beds. We argued on the phone for a few minutes about this, and the woman was very rude and then hung up on me.

In other words, if you raised the head and foot of the bed all the way, you would be bent in half!!! The motor for the massager blew out within 2 months. It hurts my back too much. I want to return it and stop the payments, but they won't do anything. It is also difficult to get in and out of this bed since the mattress seems to move around on the frame, and it rolls. My back hurts from this bed. In May 2008, we had a person named T.K. ** come to our home to show us the Contour Adjustable Bed. During the presentation, Mr. ** realized that we were a gay couple and he started fondling himself, thinking this would either help his sale or something else. We ended up wanting to purchase the bed because of my severe back problems, for which I've already had 24 surgeries. We were told we'd have a 30-day trial period and that the bed would be delivered within 10 days. It took them 21 days to deliver the bed. We did not even receive copies of our contract until the bed was delivered.

On the 3rd night of using the bed, I sat up to get out of the bed and the mattress flipped off, threw me to the floor, and pinned me down against my dresser and the bed. It took the paramedics 30 mins to remove the bed and me. That same day, we called the company and told them to come and get the bed and what had happened. The company told us they didn't have anything to do with it now because they had sold our contract to a company called HC Processing (HelpCard). Since we had not yet paid anything for the bed except a $150 deposit, we told them that we were invoking the 30 days trial clause and for them to come and pick up the bed. They refused to do anything. We refused to pay for the bed and of course, we started being harassed by HC Processing 3 and 4 times a day.

In Nov. of 2008, we came to an agreement with HC Processing that we would start paying for the bed if they would clear our credit report and start everything new. They agreed. However, I received a copy of our credit report today and found that not only had they NOT cleared the credit report as promised, but that it still showed as a negative piece of credit and was not showing any of the good payments. I called HC Processing and was told that they never made such an agreement and would not abide by what I said was the agreement. This is just another instance of Contour and HC Processing making promises and then backing out of them.

The product is WORTHLESS to anyone, let alone someone like me who is totally and permanently disabled. The contract was a lie as the amount financed was changed as well, to reflect more than what was actually owed. It's time to do something about these people. It's time to get the new media and legal field involved. Also, it's time for all of us to start contacting the Better Business Bureau and the Consumer Affairs Office in Washington, DC to stop this company from being able to do business.
