We decided to buy a recliner sofa at City Furniture. When they delivered the sofa for the first time, I noticed it was defective and there was a scratch mark in one of the pillows. I was very reluctant in accepting the delivery but the driver immediately placed a call to the customer service and told us it would be ok to sign the delivery paper and all we needed to do was to give them a call and place a claim that they would exchange or refund it. First time, we talked to customer service and we explained the situation about the sofa being defective and needed to be exchanged. Well, after first time we go through the second time and the sofa comes again defective and with a small hole in the leather fabric. Now, when we call customer service we surprisingly find out that they have a NO RETURN POLICY and once you accept the first delivery, they can only exchange or give you a store credit.
So, we decided to try one more time and have a new sofa delivered for the 3rd time! Well, it came with same problems and now we decided to request a store credit because we were unwilling to accept a defective product. Someone from customer service (after they make you wait for more than 30 min, like your time is worth nothing!) tells us that unfortunately in order for them to pick up the defective sofa we have to select something in the store within the next 3 days so the moment they come to pick up their defective product they can deliver something they forced you to buy so you don't lose your money altogether. Is this what you call a store credit?
And by the way, do not try to call what they refer to as a corporate office because they won't talk to you and you will be forced to go back and talk to those $10 hr representatives that cannot resolve and has no authority over anything. This is a scam, bait and switch advertisement and misleading. THE QUALITY IS NOT THERE, WHAT YOU SEE IN THE STORE IS NOT WHAT YOU ARE GOING TO GET AT DELIVERY!! REMEMBER THERE IS NO REFUND, NO STORE CREDIT AND THE EXCHANGE IS FOR THE SAME DEFECTIVE PRODUCT. Bottom line, they force you to keep a defective product. Scam, scam, scam!!!

Good evening Mr. Koenig, I have contacted various representatives of your company from Customer Service to the Executive Office—only to be transferred due to their “not speaking to customers”. Sir, with all due respect, it unbelievable that ANY reputable company in the USA would conduct their business in such a deplorable matter.
As I previously wrote to others, the Magnuson–Moss Warranty Act (federal lemon law) applies to furniture as well as other things. Both the Toletta power sofa and the loveseat have been exchanged over and over again due to their defectiveness, which means that you have come to deliver merchandise three times; yet, you have provided me with defective merchandise each of the three times. Therefore, I simply just want my money back. I want to cancel this purchase but am not being allowed to; and, therefore, based on how you have cornered me despite my being the customer and the an ill-treatment received thus far via being forced to make another purchase from your selection, since there are only more expensive ones available that fit my criteria, then said selection should be given to me at an equal price of what I have already purchased.
You refuse to return my money, yet all the merchandise from the one I originally selected is defective. As a result, not only have you taken my money for defective merchandise, but now refuse to refund me nor provide me with adequate replacements. Therefore, abide by fair, just, decent, moral—ETHICAL business practices and either refund my money or provide me with a substitute for the same price rather than expect me to pay a higher cost for what has not been my [the customer’s] fault! Anything less is utterly unacceptable and unethical, to say the least!

I bought a living room set from them. The first time the love seat came ripped, they took it back. The second time the frame was bent. I get one day off a week and waited two weeks in a row. So now they want me to wait a third time. I told them to take the whole set back, which they refused. After waiting for an hour to speak to a manager in the meantime they offered to come fix a brand new piece of furniture. Lol. I said no, I paid for new. So the manager gets on and all that they can offer me is a lousy 75.00 to wait around a third week in a row. The 75.00 is to be used in their store. Lol.

Every one-star review you are reading before ours an exact replica of our experience with City Furniture. They are lying about everything, which includes, product quality, shipping, delivery and about their warranty. WE purchased from them almost $10,000 worth of furniture; living room's full set master bedroom, office desk. Every piece came damaged. But the worst is the issue with an expansive king mattress. I needed an extremely firm one for my back. I tested and retested a specific one at the showroom in Tamarac and knew exactly what we purchased. The mattress came in as though it was a return/used or defective. It did not seem new and is not the firm one I purchased.
They claim that if one purchases the mattress special cover ($ 299.99) they will cover any dissatisfaction to 120 days. In addition they talked us into purchase a 3 year warranty ($ 333.98). Numerous calls to customer service, which is a nightmare to reach (they never call back), they ask us to pay $ 129.00 plus shipping to exchange THEIR defective mattress. The audacity to ask the customer to pay for their fraudulent sales practices.
In addition, even the LR leather sofa, chair & Ottoman immediately show bad quality. The leather started immediately to wrinkle and it took 3 times to replace an office desk, that still did not arrive without some damage. We implore anyone that had/has our experience to file a complaint (as we did) with the State of FL Department of Agriculture & Consumer Services in Tallahassee. We should not let such a company continue to do business by cheating their customers and getting away with it and having a customer service department that makes a mockery out of consumers! We are still trying to solve our problem with them and we went there again in person to speak with their manager (5 hrs. drive), but it seems that their attitude is "WE DON'T CARE, WE GOT YOUR MONEY AND THAT IS ALL THAT MATTERS".

After searching for several days for a loveseat that would fit into our home and our decor I decided to go back to City Furniture to purchase the EH Brentwood loveseat. This was on August 18th 2018. When the loveseat was delivered the construction on it was horrible. It looked like my eight-year-old granddaughter had put it together. I complained immediately and they scheduled to bring out another one to replace it a couple of weeks later. I told them because it was so poorly made that I was a little bit worried about this particular manufacturer and to please look over the piece before bringing it to me.
On delivery day, the guys brought it inside completely packaged and I watch them unpackage it. It definitely had a better look to it than the one they were replacing but it had a big gash up in the right left arm. So they took that one back with them. I know the return policy because I signed it but it doesn't say that if the construction is very poor that you can't get your money back. I told them I have no faith in this manufacturer because the stitched tufts in the cushions were coming loose already and nobody had sat on them.
They told me I could not have my money back, I needed to buy something else even though I don't need anything else from that store. So now I'm stuck with this piece and I think it's terrible the way they treat customers. I am a multi store owner in South Florida and I would never ever treat a customer this way. Make sure if you're going to shop at City Furniture or any furniture store, what their quality is like and their policies. I will never shop there again and am happy to warn people to stay away. Bottom line: inferior product and they don't care.

My husband and I ordered 2 beds and a couch for the new place we were moving into and our sales guy Wilmor ** in Miami was great in getting us what we wanted. Delivery was scheduled for September 30, 2018 the day after we moved into our new place. The 30th comes and we are given a time start of 2 to 5 PM. The driver calls at 1:50 and I missed the call. I understand that I have 30 minutes to get to the destination from the time that I received a call. Within that timeframe I repeatedly called the driver and he does not answer his phone. As soon as the allotted time frame is up and I’ve called the driver five or six times back to back I receive a call from the distribution center in Sawgrass stating that my item cannot be delivered and the driver waited the allotted time frame.
I am 32 weeks pregnant to which I explained on the phone to see if they may accommodate me and make me the last stop of the day. The young lady puts me on hold for 30 seconds and acts as if she contacted the driver who said their next stop is 20 minutes away and they have one more stop for the day so they will not be able to come back to me. How do they know how long the other stops will take or if the other customers will be there to receive their delivery? I then request to speak to a supervisor, this time she placed me on hold for three minutes and comes back on the line to tell me unfortunately the supervisor cannot do anything and that I’ll just have to reschedule for Tuesday.
Again I explained to the young lady that I’m pregnant and I cannot sleep on the floor and she just continued to state that unfortunately there was nothing they could do and unfortunately nobody could come on the line to talk to me and unfortunately the driver couldn’t do anything to help me either and Tuesday was my only option. She then tells me that the same supervisor who couldn’t help me over the phone will contact me about rescheduling and that I may be subject to $100 cancellation fee. We purchased all of this furniture no financing and the only thing that you can do is threaten me with $100 cancellation fee.
So I set the delivery for Tuesday but something told me to call back and got on the line was so helpful in allowing me to come pick up my merchandise but I feel like I should be refunded for my delivery because not in any way, shape or form did they try to accommodate me and I was going to be at my location within the time frame allotted had the driver answer the phone. Needless to say, I won’t be doing business with them anytime soon if this is the way that they treat customers.

I have never written a complaint on a service but due to the many times I have called City Furniture in Tamarac to speak to the Sales Representative and the numerous emails which the Customer Service Representatives said they have sent and I have YET to receive a response, I decided to write this email. After many online searches for bedroom sets, on August 14, 2018, I decided to visit the City Furniture Store in Tamarac, FL. Mr. Robert ** was the Sales Representative who assisted with the purchase of my bedroom set. I clearly informed Mr. ** that due to personal preference, I wanted a bed frame which did NOT need a box spring and that I was interested in the above mentioned bedroom set which I had seen online but needed to make sure about the box spring, therefore, Mr. ** stated he verified the bedroom set in his system and it said it did not require a box spring.
Obviously, I was happy and took his word and purchased the bedroom set; the delivery was scheduled for September 1, 2018 without the media chest which was in back order and it would be delivered on a different date. However, a few days before my delivery, I received a call stating that my delivery would be changed to September 20, 2018 as another item from my set was on back order.
Notwithstanding, due to my delivery date being changed, I had my adult nephew stay in my home that day to wait for the delivery. The delivery guy informed my nephew that I needed a box spring which I was upset to hear when I received the call from my nephew. Furthermore, when I get home from work, I realize they did not deliver the mirror, therefore, I called customer service and they informed that they had a note in their system which stated “customer refused to receive mirror” which is NOT true and to make matters worse, they said I do not need a box spring but the wood may break; who sells a bedroom set without a box spring knowingly that it would break the wood? Not to mention, when I received the bedroom set, it had scratches. At this time, I would like for someone to call me back and assist me as soon as possible as my bed can break without a box spring and I have YET to receive my mirror. Very upset client.

I went in to City Furniture on 9/21/18 to purchase an adjustable bed for my mother. The sales lady Keonna ** took our order for a bed that adjusts both legs and head. However, when they delivered the base on 9/25/ only the head would move. I have talked to 3 managers at City so far. They have all admitted that the order was for an adjustable double head and foot base, but the wrong one was delivered. Now the last manager that I spoke to is demanding $100 to bring the correct base out. City Furniture made a mistake and want the customer to bear the cost. Do not shop at this store. The customer service is the worst. I will be contacting their corporate office to see if I can get this problem resolved.

I purchased a bedroom set from the showroom on September 8. We received PART of our delivery on Thursday Sept 13th. Unbeknownst to us, 2 of our items were on back order and we were not informed of such upon purchase. One of the back ordered items was the headboard for our bed, why deliver any of the bed without the headboard?! I called customer service to inquire what happened and was greeted by attitude. I asked to speak to a supervisor and when the "escalation specialist" answered she was equally rude, if not more so that the first person. I was offered no apologies and not an ounce of remorse. I have worked in the customer service industry for over 10 years and I have NEVER been so disappointed with my treatment at any company. I understand that things happen and mistakes get made, but I do not appreciate being devalued and unheard as an unsatisfied customer.
The final parts of my order were delivered this afternoon, with more headache and dissatisfaction. I was provided a 3 hour window, I received a call from the driver within that time frame advising that they would be arriving in 10 minutes. I informed the driver that I was at work and it would take me about 30 minutes to get home. I was expecting a 30 minute courtesy call as promised. The driver advised they couldn't wait and would come back between 12-3. I told them again I was at work and would need the 30 minute notice. They called back this afternoon when they were 15 minutes from my address, again not 30 minutes. I left work and raced home. Between leaving work and reaching my home (34 minutes) I received 2 additional calls from the driver saying that they could not wait and had other deliveries. If they had provided the 30 minute window this would NOT have happened. I will not be shopping here again!

I bought a full size bed with a twin size trundle and 2 mattress. After 3 attempts of the trundle delivery, I had to go to the store to find out what was going on, since customer service never replied or followed up. I was then notified that a trundle does not exist for the bed bought. I tried to see other beds to exchange but none suited my needs or taste, since there are only a few options. Now I am trying to have the bed picked up and they only put times I am at work, when I have advised the time frame. I cannot leave work anymore, for the 4th time, to deal with CITY FURNITURE. I do not recommend them. If you ever need something resolved, it will NOT happen.

I look online and complaint after complaint- I definitely should've studied that before I chose to work with the City Furniture in Tamarac. Not only are the employees incompetent, the managers are worse. Lie after lie. On August 4, I came in to exchange couches through my warranty, and our sales agent submitted everything. Later finding out, that nothing had been submitted but I have papers signed & proving it? I'm really sick and tired of the calls and emails.

Last weekend we bought a sleeper sofa and sleeper chair and paid for "premium delivery." The delivery came (after a protracted fight over promised time and actual delivery time) but the sleeper chair was clearly used with an unsealed mattress. I paid for a NEW sleeper chair and a NEW mattress. The driver tried to force us to accept it and make a repair claim. We refused and demanded re delivery of a NEW sleeper chair. Same was promised for today. Today they came and brought back the same exact sleeper chair with the same unsealed mattress. Customer service offered NO APOLOGY and instead offered me a $50 gift card for City Furniture - as if I would buy from them again. Still no word on when I get my NEW chair. Be very wary of this company. "Premium" delivery is a pure lie.

Do not buy furniture from this company. They do not treat their customers well. We ordered a king canopy 8-4-18 and on delivery day the following Saturday was told by the delivery guys that they had the wrong screws. Had to reschedule for Tuesday then they came too early at 12:30 instead of us being the last stop as discussed. Rescheduled following Sunday. Delivery guys came were hard to understand. Said first time putting a bed like this together and that it was a hard bed to assemble but the screws were the right ones. They damaged the bed by stripping the screws. They were so aggressive putting it together they ruined.
To cover themselves they said since I have the insurance or warranty on the bed just call in three years and get another one. That sounds like fraud. Customer service was called. Pics of damage sent and rescheduled again after declining 200.00 off to keep damaged bed. Who would keep the damaged bed. That is an insult! This is now the 4th scheduled time and the next signature delivery guys came and could not take the bed apart. City was already notified and aware of the screw issues. Why did they not send the right people. They called cust service, sent more pics.
Now they want me to waste another day waiting on them and hoping they get it right this time. The only compensation for my trouble and their error was waive delivery fee and 50 in store credit. The same credit offered over and over each time they screwed up. Even the sales girl said since they dropped the ball she would zero out my account and no fee but customer service won't honor that. I am so aggravated and if I reschedule again this will be the 5th time! I want a refund and be done with them. They said no refund policy or returns. Only exchange.

I wish to address and bring to the notice of the general public, the very poor, unacceptable and deficient customer experience I had at City Furniture. I and my Wife had intended to make some purchases from City Furniture, but our payment was blocked without any cogent reason from the management of the firm. In a very vague and unprofessional manner, we were told that they could not verify us. This was after we had provided my driver’s license, my wife’s Las Vegas Sheriffs Card from the Police department as well as Passport. After refusing to honor the sale using the store's line of credit with Synchrony bank; they added that we could not pay for our order using a credit card or debit card. They insisted that we could only get the products when we pay for it with cash. No one in the customer support team truly offered a sane explanation or tried to resolve the issue.
I own an exotic car rental company, so I verify ID's pretty much every day and this entire situation does not add up. I spoke to the bank, and they stated that everything is fine from their end. It got more infuriating when City Furniture refused payment from my Amex visa and MasterCard. Based on the foregoing, I wish to bring to the notice of the general public the very unprofessional and poor service culture which seems to be a norm at City Furniture. The treatment I received made me look like a profiled criminal who is simply hanging on to any goodwill I can get from City Furniture.

We called back for 3 WEEKS looking for assistance and every day and City kept saying they are trying to arrange to come out- FINALLY after 1 month, YES 1 month they came out and the service man was there for 1 minute and said the item was broken and NOT repairable- This horrible company offered us $100 to keep this junk as is and not have it repaired.
We paid over $3,000. We said NO and we want replaced and here we are 3 months later with NADA-- Buyers BEWARE- Go to a reputable company and stay away from City Furniture-- Also Good Luck ever finding your salesman- They all leave that place after a few weeks. We are guessing because they see how City Furniture runs a business and it is HORRIBLE. Customer service should be renamed to Customer disservice. Stay Away from them.

I received a gift one year ago. Beautiful Kevin Charles leather sectional couch valued at $1700. I was so grateful to receive this as a gift. The couch looks horrible now. The leather is cracking, and peeling everywhere. I know this isn’t normal after only one year. It also has a pull out bed which makes noise when sitting on that side of the couch now. I was happy with this present and now so disappointed and disheartened. I thought Kevin Charles was a quality brand and would last for years. Now I’m stuck having to buy another one. As a single mom I cannot afford to buy another couch. I believe a refund or replacement should be offered. I will NEVER buy Kevin Charles again and do NOT recommend anyone else buy them either. Nor will I buy from City Furniture for selling this product without disclosing how quickly it will deteriorate. I don’t want to hear “normal wear and tear” because it has only been ONE year!!

After HOURS on the phone (the number on receipt goes to some call center rep who says to call salesperson then salesperson says they can’t do anything and says call center in a useless loop) some manager waived delivery charge IF I call her after furniture is all delivered. Oh, they also snuck in that ridiculous warranty which I did manage to get credited back to cc... or at least they said they will. This company is a joke. They can keep their cheap laminate garbage. We bought dining room set Nov of 2016. Within 6 months the screws were falling out of the seat cushions and City Furniture sent out repairman. His solution, longer screws against my concerns that they would puncture through the cushion and ultimately wouldn't hold anyway. Told City Furniture rep we were not satisfied with the fix, he said don't worry, they would work with us, even if they went out of warranty (the repair was done at the 11th month mark). Several months later and the screws were puncturing not only the cushions, but us as well, drew blood. Another service call but now they say we are out of warranty and this is just a courtesy.
They ordered new cushions which took almost 4 months to arrive, only 3 arrived, and they looked used. Nowhere near as nice as the ones on my chairs. Another half dozen conversations and they offered 50% off another purchase, to include just replacing the chairs we had with identical ones, but we pay for the exchange at 50% even though the whole thing started out under warranty. Opted for new cushions to be ordered and they advised it will be 18 weeks until they arrive. Whatever you buy at City Furniture, evaluate it on the day you make the purchase, don't make any decisions based upon warranties, you'll just get disappointed.

After just a yr and a half the 2 of the 5 pieces from the sofa have flattened out and is misshapen. THIS IS A DEFECTIVE PRODUCT! You can even see it bulge out A LOT further than the rest. We have cleaned a few stains with a terry cloth and water and with great disappointment the fabric was discolored. This has become an eye sore in my dining room. What’s upsetting is that upon purchase the salesperson recommended these chairs to us not only because they matched the table really well, but also because they were easy to clean and maintain, hence, this is a product made to be used for dining purposes. The product they sold us is of very poor quality. I contacted CS and spoke with Kageene **, she offered me a 40% discount to reselect and purchase 5 chairs and she also scheduled a person to come out and try to fix the problem. The tech came out today and he did not believe I had cleaned the chairs with just water and a Terry cloth.
I showed him exactly what I did and he too saw how easily the fabric became discolored. He was surprised and was short of words and then much later claimed I did it too rough. The tech deemed the damage irreparable. He called Kageene to inform her, and to add insult to injury, she offered me a 30% discount, and argued with me that she had never offered me 40%. Not only am I displeased with the product they sold my family, but their CS agents unwillingness to listen, and furthermore, disregard me as a complete liar. I assure you that on my initial call and conversation with your agent she offered me 40%, of which clearly I refuse to accept for the simple matter that I was never told the fabric on these chairs is unsuitable for dining purposes. They have tossed me around from person to person, and no one is willing to help. Terrible service, terrible product.

We paid in full for various furnitures. After waiting for weeks and months for items to be delivered. We noticed that upon receipt that we have received wrong items or damaged items. They are selling items that are not in stock and are making customers wait months only to be delivered damaged items. I have videos and photos of all of the furniture I've bought that arrived damaged. I asked for replacement and they sent a guy to repair a brand new drawer. Other items they have said we have to wait for weeks. More than a month for the item to be replaced.
We even pay for insurance to cover these items and still not suffice. We had a stain on the couch and they said to just use a cleaner on the sofa. We received a bench with a cut on it, and an old piece of tape covering it. Furniture unaligned, chips, wrong sized chairs. We have drawers that don't close right. Mismatching items and colors. We seem to not get anywhere with City Furniture. We have paid over $10,000 on furniture and complained to City and said they would just give us a $100 for the inconvenience. We even various video showing defects. We have dozens of pictures but it did not allow us to submit more than 4 images.

I purchased a sectional sofa a little over a year ago. I just made my last payment. At the time I also purchased coverage for the fabric. At this time the fabric is pilling and the sofa is understuffed. Very cheaply made. I will NEVER purchase any more furniture from this store. I have spent over $10,000 in purchases from City Furniture. I called their Customer Service Dept but got no results. The warranty on the fabric DOES NOT cover the material pilling! Why did I get the warranty in the first place? I thought it covered the fabric. The only option I got was to spend more money to replace the piece I'm referring to.
I am totally unhappy with the sofa, which cost me 4300 and unhappy with the options that were given to me. It is a defective piece and should be taken back AT NO ADDITIONAL cost to me. Because of these reasons, I will not purchase any more furniture from this store nor recommend it to anyone! Below you will find a photo of the understuffed sectional piece. The pilling of the material does not show in the photo.

Except for Mike ** who was outstanding and a customer service rep who worked with us, we found City's return policy to be so onerous that we will not shop there again. Essentially, everything you now buy is as is once it leaves the store. My wife and I bought the wrong height bar stools and immediately called the store hoping to exchange them for the right height. We were told that there was no replacement or return policy once items leave the store. Our bar stools were still in the boxes except for the one we left the warehouse with unwrapped. After much haggling, the finally told us we could return them with a 15% restocking fee. I was told that this policy is the result of some people misusing the return policy. However, we've been shopping at City for years and the new policy is too restrictive for us to continue to shop there.
In my opinion, City is punishing the good customers for the misbehavior of a few instead of trying to make lemonade out of lemons by perhaps separating the exchange policy from the return policy or having a program for elite customers who were able to return items by being in elite club of some sort with City. But there are legitimate returns or exchanges that need to be made by people who are making major purchases when an item doesn't fit or there's a desire to exchange an item. Otherwise, in my view, City Furniture is reducing itself to a second tier retailer that even professionals like Mike can't overcome.

Their sales practice is disgraceful, the salespeople add warranty when you don't request it and give you a hard time when you tell them to remove it. The furniture is extremely poor quality, and the customer service is nonexistent. The cheap Chinese made furniture arrived damaged, you have to photograph the damage and fill in an online form, then they ignore you. So you then need to ring and stay on hold for hours at a time trying to find out when someone is going to call you and resolve the issue, the automated response you get from the online damage form is a NO REPLY email so the only thing you can do is call them and wait on hold for hours and hours. This is the first and only time that I will purchase furniture through City Furniture. I purchased a bedroom set, 3 queen mattresses, and 2 twin mattresses from City Furniture in Naples on 10/31. The purchase included free shipping. According to the City Furniture website at that time, their free shipping included pick up of mattresses as part of their Haiti Relief campaign. I asked the salesman to confirm that the mattresses would be picked as part of free shipping. He confirmed that our old mattresses would be picked up when the furniture was delivered. This is the main reason that I purchased through City Furniture.
When the furniture was delivered on 11/2, I was told by the deliverymen and customer service that City Furniture has changed their policy and no longer picks up mattresses. I called the salesman and he was unaware of any changes to the policy. To try and uphold the policy the salesperson started trying to identify a non-profit organization that could pick up the mattresses but no one is able to come today and most will not be able to come for a week. I am now forced to pay a company to remove the mattresses. City Furniture provided absolutely no support. I will never purchase another product through this company and will caution my friends when shopping for furniture.

I had a table delivered and it was damaged so had to send in pictures and schedule an appointment to have a new table delivered. The following week I get a missed phone call and message saying to contact City Furniture to confirm delivery for Monday. I also received a text saying to respond Y to confirm delivery for Monday. I did respond Y for yes and received a text message saying I am confirmed for Monday delivery.
On Monday I did not get the delivery so I called and they said I never returned their call to confirm delivery so they were not able to deliver my furniture. However in fact I did get a text confirmation saying I was confirmed. I did contact customer care and was told I never called them to confirm my delivery. When I mentioned I have a text message saying I am confirmed they said that does not mean anything. Only a confirmation on phone will confirm delivery. My question was - WHY DID YOU SEND ME CONFIRMATION CONFIRMING DELIVERY THROUGH TEXT IF YOU DO NOT ACCEPT THAT AS CONFIRMATION??? Customer service department is very inconsiderate and not understanding at all. Yet they continue to send text confirmations that do not actually confirm delivery even if the text states delivery is confirmed. This must be very confusing to other customers as well.
The next attempt to deliver my table was done by two very incompetent delivery guys. They hit my TV with the table when removing from my apartment. My TV has a big scratch on it now and they did not put my new table together correctly. So I asked them to leave me my original table with the damaged corners until I get a new one delivered that's put together properly. What really upset me further is when I called customer care again to explain what happened and that I even have pictures of my TV scratched by the City Furniture Delivery guys they said the delivery guys denied this and so they don't believe me.
City Furniture is not customer friendly and does not act in very businesslike Manner. I will let all my friends and family know to never order from City Furniture again unless to do something to rectify my situation. They should start by changing their system and not send text asking customers to confirm delivery by responding Y for yes if it does not actually confirm the delivery. I've attached the picture of my TV after they bumped into with table. Very very reckless, and unprofessional delivery and customer service representatives.

My husband and I bought furniture at the Boca Raton City Furniture 3 years ago and had no problems at all. We went to the Wellington store on July 29th to pick out new bedroom furniture. We found a set we liked and asked about it, the salesperson said that the furniture had been discontinued. I was confused as to why it was still on the floor but she told us that it was being sold "as is". That wasn't marked anywhere that was visible, but we moved on to find something else. We found another set and flagged down another salesperson. This time we were told that the full set wasn't in stock, but we could have the pieces that were available delivered then and wait for the others. Then she said the other pieces would not be available until October 21st! I was surprised how long it would take but we agreed to have everything delivered at once, so as not to have to pay the 120.00 delivery fee twice.
Well now it is October. We have given away our old furniture to people that lost their furniture in the hurricane because we’d have to make room for the new furniture anyway. Moved other furniture around in other rooms so we are ready. My husband called on Monday the 16th to make sure everything was still being delivered on Saturday and the customer service person said, “Of course!” I got a phone call today telling me that 3 pieces of the 5 I ordered have been discontinued but to come in so they could help get furniture that matched as close as possible to what was being delivered!
We said we don't want any of the furniture now because we are so annoyed! The customer service rep could not understand why we were so annoyed! We waited three months, paid for half of the balance, got rid of our old furniture, have family coming to stay in a month and there is no furniture... but no big deal! We will NOT be shopping here again! Find a furniture company that actually has the furniture in stock and doesn't make you wait so long that it becomes discontinued! And has customer service people that can at least pretend to be empathetic!

I bought a mattress from City Furniture in Pembroke Pines, FL on 6/29/17 with the extra mattress pad for the 120 day reselection/exchange if we didn't like it. That transaction went smoothly, but the mattress was not comfortable, so on I went back on 7/18/17 and choose another mattress for exchange - paying the difference right then and there plus added 2 other chairs to the delivery order scheduled for Friday 7/21/17.
On 7/21/17 I get the morning call (7:30am) about picking up the old mattress. I question about the delivery of the new mattress and he said it is probably on another truck. They arrive at 8:30 am to take the old mattress and I say "I still haven't heard about the delivery of the new mattress" and he said "someone should call by 9 am." At 9:05 am I call to find out about the new mattress and they say there is a problem with how the sales person processed the return and that the account still showed a balance due. The customer service girl said she had to wait till 10 am when the store opened to clear it up and would call me back around 10:30. At 11:05 am I call back and re-explain everything to another customer service person who says nothing had been done about the issue and she would try to help. She called around trying to sort it out and get it delivered that afternoon.
Finally (after a long time on hold- a disconnect and talking briefly with another customer service person) she said that she was able to pull some string to get it delivered that afternoon between 4-6 pm. So I wait and wait and wait and at 5:30 pm I call and ask when they were coming with my mattress and was told that it never made the truck and it wasn't coming today. I was very upset since now I had nothing to sleep on for the night. Then the customer service supervisor said a manager would call us back first thing Saturday morning and offered to refund our delivery fee ($110) and I thought a discount or $60 or store credit of $120 (though I swore I wanted the cash and I would never shop in their store again). So that night I slept on an air mattress due to City Furniture's incompetence.
Anyways- Saturday 7/22 morning comes and we never get a call from the manager. I call at 10 am to try and sort it out and see if we were at least getting the mattress today. After some more run around and issues they said they could deliver it that evening from 5-7 pm. I inquired about the delivery refund and cash credit and they said I was only eligible for the delivery credit that the cash credit was a lower tier credit and the delivery credit is all we were eligible for- but I still have not seen this refunded to my credit card.
Overall this experience was HORRIBLE. They don't seem to have good coordination and know what they are doing. Due to a series of THEIR mistakes I suffered a horrible night's sleep and had my time wasted (missed a day of work for nothing, spent hours on the phone and waiting, plus my Saturday evening!).
I do not recommend and will never buy anything from them or any Ashley Furniture Affiliate ever again.

The delivery guys left and shortly after that I saw the damage on my front screen and paint job of my house. Called customer service and was told that the delivery guy said that he didn't do anything wrong. Of course not! The guys weren't smart enough to remove the leg of the sofa. They did it with right where it fell off when they hit the front screen. They left immediately without saying a word. Now I know why!!! I was told that there is nothing they can do for me. I should have checked everything before they left. As if I follow the delivery guys around and check every last action they take. Thanks, never ever again!!!

I bought a fabric sofa set less than a year, within six months the seat starts to peel. The sofa looks five years old. I don't use the sofa as much, no kids in the house. I called the warranty customer service and they said no coverage for peeling. How can a company sell a product that will last you less than a year? Not to mention that is not a cheap sofa either. Very upsetting. I will never buy anything from City Furniture, ever again! Be aware, don't go there!!!

I bought a bedroom set from the Stuart City Furniture store. The bed frame was rotten from the beginning. You can't read a book or watch TV or even turn over without the frame creaking, LOUDLY! The delivery guys were to come back and set it up properly, or replace it! That didn't happen. I've tighten the screws, used WD40, have a blanket between the mattress and the frame, I have put coasters under the stubby little stick that is at the center, head of the bed. NOTHING MAKES IT STOP CREAKING!
I have been in Tarpon Springs helping my sister who is terminal so this is the first opportunity I have had to vent my frustration. When I called the Stuart store I was treated badly: In regard to a table and chair I purchased at the same time, my salesman made a mistake on my order, on his computer, and somehow that was turned into being my fault.
I made a formal complaint about that which is why I am not getting any help with the bed frame. At this point I do not even want the set! I can't read a book or watch TV in peace! The bed creaks with the slightest movement at the head of the bed. I have emailed City Furniture three times - no response. I have called four times and each time the person who could help me wasn't in - they never called back. City Furniture will not resolve this matter so I have sent an email to the FCC - they may not be the right people but I've asked for their help getting me to the organization I need to get this resolved. I'm sick of sleeping on my couch, I'm done being afraid of what the people in the Stuart store will think of me. I got freezer burn last time I walked into the Stuart store! I need help, I need to know where to file my complaint, officially. I want City Furniture to make this right!

I bought this junk mattress at City Furniture Boca Raton. First we got a pillow top. It was horrible. We exchange the mattress to a firm mattress and it's worst. Because it was cheaper than the other mattress the sales associate started to put pressure on us and he stated that we had to spend the rest of the money that they or we would lose it. I ask him to put the rest of the money in a card so I can spend the money later because I couldn't decide what to buy with the 200 DOLLARS left. He said it was impossible. Well we ended up buying a vase we didn't want. Anyways, the mattress the second one, lost its shape after 2 months and we cannot sleep good during the night. We suffer of back and neck pain in the mornings. It's a torture. Don't buy any Serta innerspring mattress manufactured at 3774 interstate Park road North Riviera Beach Florida, 33404. Don't waste 1,300 dollars.

Ordered furniture for my vacation rental condo. We were promised delivery in two days except for the living room table which was to be delivered by December 21st. Since we were returning to Ohio on December 23rd, we were given assurance that it would definitely be delivered on the 21st. On the first delivery, we received a call in the morning that it would be delivered between 1:00-3:00. It arrived at 4:30, only to discover we were missing one chair. The next day, the missing chair was delivered. Again, we were told delivery would be between 1:00 and 4:00 p.m. It was delivered at 5:30.
Today, December 21st, we found that the table will not be delivered until February. Again, we are leaving for Ohio on December 23rd. Since we will not be back in Florida until April, and CITY FURNITURE WILL NOT ISSUE A REFUND for the table, we were forced to delay delivery until then. They actually have one in stock as they have it in their showroom, but we were told that THEY NEED TO HAVE IT SO THEY CAN SELL MORE. Sell more??? They can't even fulfill the orders they have now. First of all, they are sorely understaffed for delivery. Secondly, they cannot be counted on to hold true to their promises. I highly doubt that the delivery will ever be made.

When I called about this, they explained it is guaranteed for one year so there is no problem. All I have to do is bring it in or pay $50 for a service call (people come out to fix it). I cannot fit the headboard in my car. If it is guaranteed they should come out and fix it. They will not! That is not a guaranteed! By them being so underhanded, they have lost thousands of dollars in me and my friends future business.

Very disappointed with the furniture quality and the customer service. I bought a bedroom set and it has been a disaster. $300 each nightstands (MADDEN DARK TONE WOOD MODEL): visible screws on top of the nightstand and scratches everywhere. $700 drawer (MADDEN DARK TONE WOOD MODEL): not polished properly, very rough, and unstable, it moves from side to side. Worse quality than IKEA items which are a lot cheaper.
When they deliver the furniture they won't tell you that if you sign the receiving slip you cannot return or have any refund of what you have bought even it is damaged. The delivery guys were very rough, I have carpet on the bedrooms and they didn't want to remove their shoes to enter to the room. They also told me that I was very picky and that's the way the wood looks. If you buy a product at the store and the item has a problem, when they deliver to you, the store is not responsible for anything, they tell you, "You have to contact Customer Service." The worst furniture I have ever seen on my life. Please do not buy furniture at this store, the quality is horrible and the customer service very rough.

But they could send someone out if we paid $50 for them to send him for a house call but the repair was free! What a joke! We did pay to have it repaired because after all it's a new couch right?! And it was cheaper for us to pay the fee than to get someone to pick it up from our house and take it to the warehouse and back. Not long after the leather started flaking! The leather was flaking on areas where it didn't receive any wear and tear. It didn't happen where we sat or on the arms, it occurred in between the cushions, on the top of the back and on the sides! We paid nearly $2000 for a couch that didn't even last a year! It's absurd!
When we contacted customer service they responded with giving us a 30% discount on another purchase! How insane is that?! As if we would make another purchase from them! I expressed how displeased I was with their type of resolution and they never replied! Their quality of merchandise is subpar along with their customer service! Despicable to say the least. A few days ago, I had to call them again because the new sofa when you sit you can feel like a hole right in the middle of the sofa, the same place where the first sofa broke.
They called me and told me that the warranty was expired because had been passed like 5 days after the year. It didn't matter that this was the 2nd time with the same problem. If you want to buy with them you need to buy the extended warranty because you are going to need it. He says everything will be delivered Wednesday. The drivers come out with a scratched up table and chairs. But no living room set. Which means I have to take another day off.
So I let customer service know I was not happy with the condition of the items. I asked about the living room set. They said it's on back order and I am number 5. So I call them on Thursday to find out when is it going to be delivered. Now they tell me it's discontinued. So now I am stuck with a table and no furniture. I paid for this as a set. We purchased over $9,000.00 worth of furniture & opted for the "premium delivery". City Furniture's literature & website states that customers will be 100% satisfied as the delivery team assembles/places & cleans up while the customer relaxes. The delivery team assembled all the furniture & placed it where it belonged, however, they did not remove all the trash they generated. Yes, they p/u the big stuff, but the mess they left in my driveway is stunning! Literature about my Tempur-Pedic bed, Allen wrenches & bolts, long screws, wood screws, plastic bags, mesh bags, metal hinges, small pieces of plastic, Styrofoam, etc.!!
I called Corporate & after 26 min. it took four separate calls before some answered their extension. The first rep. who answered did so without realizing & was having a personal conversation with another co-worker! After 3 min. of listening to their conversation, while yelling "hello" into the phone over & over, I hung up & called back. All this time, my husband was on hold with the 800 #, for 35 min., never got to speak to a representative (Too many personal conversations over customer service!), eventually entering his number in queue for a callback (which now 2 hrs. later still has not happened).
All they could offer me was a $100 credit or a $200 gift card! Not what I wanted! After spending 30 minutes cleaning up after the delivery crew inside my house (done mostly while on phone with corp.) I now get to go outside in the blazing Florida sun & spend probably another 30 minutes cleaning up the garbage they left! Pictures below show only some of the garbage, it's all over my driveway! I quickly made a pile of some of it for the picture proof, it will take me a while to clean it all up! So much for 100% satisfaction!! HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! There are too many other companies to buy furniture from to settle for this type of service. BTW, did I mention before the crew left they asked me for bottled water, which I happily gave not realizing the mess they left.

We are repeat customers and we recently made another purchase close to $2,000 at the Dadeland location. The sales lady was nice and accommodating during the sale, but was later unable to help us when the problems began. From the first delivery date of 6/24/16, an item was missing. I contacted the store and the delivery guys also contacted customer service. After speaking to both the store and customer service, they still did not enter the correct information in their system. We were missing a chair and not a mattress. At that point it was no big deal, mistakes can happen with so many deliveries and we didn't mind.
On Sunday 6/26, the sales lady Millie and Kelly both called me as a follow-up and assured me they would advise customer service to make sure their system showed that it was my chair was missing, and not the mattress, and that delivery would then be Wednesday 6/29. On June 29 we took time again off work and at 3 pm we had no calls about the delivery. Called customer service and they had nothing in their system about a delivery for me, and it still showed the missing item was the mattress. The customer service gentleman then updated the system and advised me that for certain we would get a call for delivery.
We take time off work again and we did get a call before 9 am as promised that the delivery would take place before noon. But within a half hour, another call came in stating the chair was on back order and the new delivery date would now be 7/7/16. The gentleman offers me a $25 coupon that would be mailed to us within 4 to 6 weeks. I ask to just credit the account, but he stated he could not.
I contact the store but Millie was out, and I speak with Kelly and advised of what has been happening and additionally advise her that our bed does not the bunky boards and I would like to coordinate for the delivery scheduled on 7/7 to bring me the chair, to have the same guys take the bunky boards back, or can I just bring them back to the store. Kelly stated she would speak to the store manager and get back to me. I also told her I am not asking for a refund, we will come in and buy something in place of it.
I never heard back and I called customer service who tells me to call the store at 10 and that she would be sending the store an email about my bunky board request. Not once did customer service advise me about a three-day policy. Then I called the store on 7/5/16 at 10:30 am. Kelly is on vacation so I spoke to Millie about the request to send back the bunky boards. Millie tells us there is nothing she can do because bunky boards have to be returned within three days. I let her know I did not know that and accept that I missed the mark, but as a customer who has had to miss work three times for their error, is there anything they can do to make an exception, considering that Kelly never told me this when she had the opportunity to do so? Millie stated she understood, and promised to call us back before 6 pm or have the manager call us.
At 6:06 pm, we called the store and asked for the general manager but was told her was out. Then Millie called us back and told us she could put another manager named Felipe on the phone. Felipe proceeds to read to me all the details in the back and forth emails b/w his store and customer service. I advised him I am the customer and can also verbatim tell him how this has all been handled and how the two are not connecting b/w his store and customer service. That we understand how things can get complicated but everyone is blaming everyone else and no one is accepting responsibility and we are the only ones being jerked around... at least how it felt that way. I advise Felipe of the same and how we are not asking for a refund, but rather a credit and that we will buy other items with a credit. We even took out a credit card with a high limit the day we made the purchase. Felipe told us he would call us the next day.
On 7/6, Felipe called me and advise there was nothing he could do. I then asked him to please cancel the chair that was on back order and credit us the full amount. I had 30 days for that one to be done right. It felt as though this was handled in a very incompetent way with people who are supposed to be professionals. The lack of follow-through or concentrated effort was evident on both parts. A total disconnect making us do all the work. Even when the bunky board was my oversight, and admitted such, there was not customer courtesy afforded. But we were sure considerate and understanding when we were stood up twice for the chair that never came that was always considered to be a missing mattress.
We did understand and accepted the situation but we could not be reciprocated. Therefore we do not need the City furniture credit card and we will close it, pay off what we owe and never shop there again. And if this is store policy and there is no flexibility, and no concern for losing even one customer, then it is not a place I will recommend either to anyone. Sorry it did not work out.

Did make the horrible mistake of ordering one set. Bottom line, they looked much darker in our home (I will probably take one back to the store just to hold it up to the one there). Regardless, I knew they would charge a 15% restocking fee. What they DID NOT say was you must pay the fee and take a store credit that must be used in 5 days!!! This is not custom furniture. They were delivered in boxes marked "made in China" all over them.
Bottom line - you can take something back to stores. I wouldn't have even minded the 15% if I got the rest of my money back. You can even order a chair from World Market and return it to a store (Wish I had). Went back and the salesperson was rude and didn't even get a manager to speak with. Instead told us all about her own sofa being too large and her being stuck with it too. Now, I have been on hold for customer service for over 20 minutes, as one of the chairs is damage. I purchased a leather sectional from City Furniture about 14 months ago and a section of the sectional sinks down. This sectional is pretty much new because I'm never home, I have no kids or pets. I never in my living room or home because I travel a lot for work. I called the warranty department because I purchased the 3 years warranty plan. The tech came out today and said yes it's defective and it's nothing he could do. So the rep from City Furniture called me and said they can't replace it. My only option is a gift certificate for $150 and keep my sectional as is or a $75 credit back to the way I purchased my sofa.
Please people do not purchase furniture from this place. They sell you bull and say, "Yes with the 3 year warranty if anything happened we will fix it or replace it". Once they get your money they do not care about you, like most companies. Just be mindful when purchasing furniture. I never write reviews but I'm very disappointed with City Furniture and their customer service. I will never purchase anything else from them or their sister stores.

Looking for a new dining set and bedroom set at City Furniture Stuart location. Sat down with a salesperson who checked to see if both sets were in stock. Table and chairs were in stock and only 4 of the 5 pieces were in stock for the bedroom. The 5th piece was on back order and was expected in June 24th. I was in no rush for the furniture and expressed I would like to wait until the entire set was available and then have it delivered. The salesperson said it would be in my best interest to take a partial delivery now and a second delivery with no cost to me when the final piece was in.
My concern was if for some reason the piece was discontinued I would not want the set. She then told me company policy was not to hold anything for more than 7 days. I left the store without ordering either set. I called customer service and spoke to Jan ** who is with the company 20 years and she could not believe my experience.
She suggested I go back to the store and speak to the store mgr. Jan then emailed her to let her know I'd be in around 1 PM. She also asked me to give her a call with a follow-up. I went to the store and told the greeting salespersons I would like to talk to the store mgr. I explained Jan ** spoke to her earlier and she is expecting me. The call went back to her and she sent out an assistant of hers as if she could care less. I left the store, called Jan to follow up. Three hours later finally spoke to Jan. She confirmed the store mgr was in and answered her email about my experience.
Jan then gave me an excuse maybe she was busy with other customers. Believe me 6 salespeople standing around waiting to pounce on anyone who approaches the store. No customers inside. She just couldn't be bothered. Last year I purchased 3 rooms of furniture. I'm currently looking to purchase 2 additional rooms. A few years back I bought 7 rooms of furniture for my PA home, from either Ashley and or City Furniture who are partners here in Florida. They lost a good customer. Never again.

I purchased a bonded leather sectional in 2014. It has now started to shred across the seat cushion. I live alone and I am out of the house every day (including weekends) and most evenings so the furniture has been subject to absolute minimal usage. On contacting City Furniture both at the store in Boca Raton and the head office I was (curtly) informed there was nothing they would do. Their 'customer service', it seems, ends at the sale. I wondered why they would risk their reputation and refuse to even have anyone look at what is obviously a defective product. I should have looked at the many negative reviews first - they just don't care. If it were possible to use zero stars I would do so.

After then paying the fees and delivery charges yet again they delivered the wrong furniture again which caused me to have to take off work another day to have it sent again. I was told the items were in stock and due to living in a condo, I had to wait to set up delivery. I called the next day and made the delivery date as of March 31, 2016. I was told that they would contact me 24 hours in advance to ensure everything was good for the delivery and provide an exact time. They never called. I called the store and the SR I spoke with stated that she checked and the delivery was all set up for March 31, 2016 as requested. At 7am I received a call from the delivery company and they stated they only had 2 pieces of the 3-piece sofa that was ordered and wanted to know if I still wanted it delivered. What good would 2 pieces be without the third.
I called customer service and she stated that the third piece was on backorder and wouldn't arrive until April 27 and I could have all 3 pieces delivered on April 28. I asked why I was told it was in stock when I purchased and she didn't have an answer. I asked what compensation they would provide for me not having the sofa that I ordered and she said they offer nothing.
I could cancel if I wanted to and if I wanted to report to anyone concerning the issue to go ahead. I had the cell phone number of my SR and called her. She stated she was sorry for the inconvenience and wasn't working today but would ask. I told her I was going in to speak with a manager this evening as I don't feel it was fair to tell me something was in stock, I reserve, then I end up with half of what I paid for at the store. I wish I had read the comments before going to City Furniture then I would have shopped somewhere else to not have the headache. CAUTION upfront as I may be the lucky one that didn't end up with bad furniture since mine isn't able to be delivered as promised.

We are led to believe that everything will be fixed by the extended warranty, but sadly this is not the case. First I must say if was possible to give zero stars I would. I have had just the most disappointing experience at CITY FURNITURE. I will explain in complete detail. I went to the clearance/corporate location at 6701 N. Hiatus Road, Tamarac FL, 33321. After two hours of looking my husband and I decided we couldn't afford the leather sectional we really wanted in the clearance section. The sales representative (SR) ** was very helpful. As we were leaving he continued to talk to us in an effort to encourage us to buy the sectional. My husband told him to see if there was anything he could do to bring the price down a bit. He left us and walked about 30ft AWAY from us to look in the system. He walked back over to me and said, "I have great news. We're going to take $400 off for you." I said, "REALLY!" He said, "Yes, but you have to buy it now." I said, "Yeah! Ring it up." My husband went with him to the register while I waited with the kids.
After he rang everything up my husband said the savings was actually $350. I thought that was strange since he told me $400, but I thought it was still a good deal so I didn't make a big deal about it and it was already purchased. We agreed to pick it up the next morning. We got there ready to pick up our sectional. After a 20 minute wait the SR ** came out to tell us that he forgot to ring up one of the pieces in the sectional and now we would have to buy the piece HE forgot to ring up, which was $350. WHAT?! I reminded him that he said that he had discounted the unit by $350. He said he was sorry and he didn't noticed he didn't ring up a $350 part and we would have to pay the extra $350 to get the furniture. THAT MEANS THERE WAS NEVER A DISCOUNT TO BEGIN WITH!!! We explained that we didn't have that money and that it was his error not ours.
He went for his manager **. I explained what happened and he said that they are human and ** might have scanned incorrectly while speaking with us. I told him we were NOWHERE NEAR HIM while he was scanning the product. He replied and that he can't justify reducing the price by $350 because it was already reduced. I explained we were being punished for their mistake, but he repeated he could do nothing. I told him to give us back our money because we couldn't afford the difference. I had no choice. I called customer service while waiting and the rep told me they could do nothing. It was all up to Mr. **. After another 20 min waiting in the dock Mr. ** DIDN'T return. I had to get one of the loading guys to go find him. The loading guy returned with my returned receipt. Mr. ** never came back to address us at all.
We were stuck. We emptied our living room to make room for this new sectional. Rearranged our entire day to pick up the furniture. Although it was not our fault we were the ones paying the price. And all they could offer us was, "SORRY." I have spent thousands of dollars at this location and this whole experience is so unethical. I feel like it was a BAIT AND SWITCH! NEVER AGAIN. PLEASE BE VERY CAREFUL. If the company makes a mistake it seems they will not try to rectify it in an ethical manner. At least not in my case. VERY DISAPPOINTED AND FRUSTRATED. Now I am scrambling to find furniture to fill my empty living room.

Purchased a 6-piece leather sectional from City Furniture in Lady Lake, FL during Columbus Day weekend 2015. Was talked into buying the 3 year in-home service agreement. Didn't want it but their rationale was that if ANYTHING went wrong during the 3 years I would be fully covered for repair or replacement - my complete satisfaction was their goal (quickly found out that was NOT their goal). After the furniture was delivered I found 4 defects and called their customer "NO" service. They set up an appointment for a technician to come and repair the faults. Won't bore you with the details but it was disastrous experience.
He fluffed a few cushions and explained that there were no defects as far as he was concerned. I then emailed the company several times with no response. Finally called customer "NO" service and was told the so-called defects were customer preference items and not covered by the service agreement. I asked her if having crooked stitching and different height pieces were something most customers prefer. Her response was definitely not satisfactory. I can understand furniture being defective but their absolute denial of service or replacement is mind boggling.
I wish I had looked online before buying from them because the internet is loaded with hundreds of negative experiences with this company. They don't seem to care about you once they have your money. AVOID this company!! One positive note - after I ran out options getting repairs or replacement I called the salesperson and requested a refund of the service agreement money. They asked why and I explained the dismal experience with customer "NO" service. They refunded the money immediately and did not seem surprised by my account of what happened to make me so unhappy.

Now I purchased this warranty in good faith. If the repair man you trust to send to my house makes the determination that it is broken beyond repair, throwing some foam at it, will not fix it. Now I have to wait 4 more months, go thru all the Holidays with numerous gatherings and family functions with a broken couch. This is the most ridiculous thing I have ever dealt with. I wish I had done my research. It's obvious that I am not the only one disappointed with City Furniture. I can tell you without a doubt, this will be my one and only purchase made from there.

Bought a dining table. Came with scratches and dents. Told they could repair, no problem. Days later they did a really bad repair on chair and said table was natural wood grain. Table top is not real wood. I wanted a refund. Was told "We never do refunds, only repair or replace" and it's past 3 days so no replacement.

The reviews say it all. I purchased a bunk bed for my children, with a trundle. The first time we used it was a week after delivery. The trundle was assembled with broken parts and hidden with the mattress. As soon as we opened it it broke apart and fell on my girl's foot and removed her toenail completely. City Furniture is removing all responsibility by saying it was delivered fine originally. This is not the case. The bed pieces are banged and not able to hold the screws together. I sent them proofs but no help. Don't purchase anything From City Furniture. You'll be at danger physically and mentally.

I purchased my sofa almost 2 yrs ago & paid $3000 for it. The extra cleaning I purchased was $120 for 3 yrs. & $300 for in home service for factory defect. That's not what I was told. The stitches started coming out after a week and I sewed it myself. I didn't want to be petty. Although it says spot clean on the receipt, I was assured by the salesperson that they would come out and clean the sofa or replace any cushion covers that may be ruined. I called for the first and only cleaning, and was told it's only a spot cleaning I purchased and it's more than 5 days old but they would clean the spot anyway. Hellooo!! Don't do me any favors. $420 to clean a spot? I could have paid Stanley Steemer $60 twice... and you're giving me a hard time. Bad customer service. If you're sending someone to my house, it's no skin off your nose to give me my $420 worth. Bad, bad, bad service.

My husband and I purchased a sectional couch with chaise in December 2014. We paid more for American made versus made in China thinking this would be a better product. How sad and angry and dissatisfied we are with this piece of furniture. After a couple weeks of use the cushions started to collapse and started feeling the wood thru the cushions, then in May 2015 I was removing the cushions to turn them over and vacuum them and noticed nails/screws sticking out the back when you remove the cushions which are starting to fray the fabric, and staples coming out of the front bottom. The cushions/sectional look like it is 15 years old with fabric wrinkling up where the stuffing in cushions is breaking down.
I called customer service as we paid for the 3 year extended warranty. They sent out someone on June 5, 2015 to order replacement parts and still have not heard from them. It is now August 17, 2015. They said the estimated arrival time for the parts would be June 22, 2015. I went down to the store where we purchased it and spoke with the assistant manager and she was surprised that it has taken so long and have not heard from anyone. I have now called customer service 5 times without no reply from them.
As of today, 8/17/2015 I am still waiting to hear from customer service as they said the parts are in but they again are unable to locate them. I told them to come get the couch and we want our hard earned money back! Very rude and uncooperative customer service department. Very cheap furniture, do not buy from City Furniture. I wish I would have read these reviews before purchasing this. I plan on writing a letter to the CEO with pictures and all the documentation that I have been keeping regarding this. This is so frustrating and time consuming but I am NOT backing down. How in the world can a company like this stay in business. If I could I would not even give it a 1 star rating. If no results, I will be taking them to small claim court!

Upon second delivery was told that the first delivery man did not open the complete bed frame, to realize that the defective item was the bed rails. This has caused me to have to set up a third delivery which has caused me time from work. That would have been unnecessary if the City Furniture employee had done his job correctly. My living room furniture pieces were delivered on a Wednesday afternoon. Before they even finish putting them together they put husband on the line with customer service to verify if everything was ok, he was in the middle of feeding the baby, he glanced and saw a scratch on the arm of the sofa which we were suppose to get a call back about with a time so they can fix it, that never happened. When I got home from work around six my doorstep was chipped and cracked. I asked my husband what happened, he asked me what I'm talking. He went out to look, the pieces of concrete were removed and placed between the flowers next to the entry way. As I was going inside to check the furniture myself before calling I noticed my door was dented. I checked the chairs and they had multiple scratches on them. I called them at that time and got a recording to call during business hours.
The next day during lunch hour I called and spoke to a lady who said I needed to email pictures and they would contact me in 24hrs. Almost a week later I called to find out why no one called me. They said they didn't receive the email after I insisted that they did because I cc'd my husband and myself and we both got it. She said that she found it but no pictures, to send it again. She transferred me to the claim department where I had the joy of speaking to their RUDE and CONDESCENDING customer service rep who I guess because I have an accent I sounded stupid to her, told me because I didn't call the same day there's NOTHING they can do. I explained over and over that they were closed but she wants the pictures sent again and besides "I interviewed my driver and he denies all of it, and since you waited we can't do anything."
Needless to say I was pissed. Fast forward 2 days later after specifically telling them to call me not my husband, they pretty much told him property damage is not their problem, $50 for the inconvenience, take it or leave it because their driver denied it and it's too late. My husband again reminded them that we called that day, so she claimed I never told them about the door and insinuated we are lying and adding more damage to the list despite the picture. And they will not come to evaluate, take $100 or too bad. NEVER AGAIN CITY FURNITURE.

If I could give it ZERO stars I would! 3 years ago I purchased a glass table and 4 white leather chairs. I paid $600 for the set. During that time all 4 chairs started falling apart. I moved the glass chair ONE time and the silver leg came out and broke. The table is now unstable and can't be used.
When I called customer service they asked to submit pictures. The very unfriendly representative told me that because my warranty expired 3 month ago, there is NOTHING they can do. 3 month ago, I said... "You cannot accommodate???" She told me that she can give me a phone number of a guy that I can PAY him to fix the chairs and the table (WOW what a resolution, great job City Furniture!!). We were told that the couch was irreparable because the arms were made of thin cardboard and thin padding but that we could not receive our money back. We could only either receive a new couch of same defective design/construction or select another piece of furniture. All we really want is just our money back due to a defect in merchandise so we can just "move on". There really is no other piece of furniture that suits his taste that he wishes to exchange it for and I feel he is being penalized for choosing a very poorly made piece of furniture unbeknownst to him and coerced into settling for something that he really does not want.

BUYERS BEWARE!!! After having a leather living room set for 20 years, I decided that it was time for a new one. Two years ago I purchased a leather couch, loveseat and recliner from Ashley HomeStore/City Furniture. A year and a half after using this furniture I started to notice that not only was the padding not holding up, but the leather on the couch and recliner was wearing off. It started to look like this furniture was fifteen years old. Mind you, there are three adults using this furniture, no children or grandchildren. Pictures were taken of this furniture and with a certified letter we sent it to the corporate office of City Furniture. Mr. Koenig who is the CEO did not respond and numerous calls were made over a period of a month to **, the extremely rude operator along with others whose names I can't recall.
Voice mails were pretty much all you could get and after much wasted time we did hear back from ** who could have cared less and told us that they would not do anything for us besides give us 30% off of another set. Who in their right mind would want to spend more money at a store selling junk as furniture, by a company that has never heard of CUSTOMER SERVICE? The end result was that now we are stuck with furniture that is going to the dump after two years. I will never buy from this company ever again in my life. TAKE HEED CONSUMERS, run the other way. My husband and I purchased a micro fiber sectional couch from City furniture. At the time, I was pregnant and was told that it would be smart to purchase a warranty for the couch and a stain protection warranty because having kids usually means that things end up dirty. We were reluctant, but they assured us that it was money well spent. That if there were stains, they would send a stain protection kit and that if there were still stains then we can have someone come out to clean the couch. Naturally, we called when the couch got a few stains and they sent us the kit. The kit worked on some of the stains, but not all. We called again and tried to schedule to have someone come out and they gave us a hard time. When they did send someone out, they made him take pictures of the couch then asked to speak with us. They said the man could not clean the couch because we did not call within 5 days of the stains occurring.
We fought with them about it and told that we had informed them previously when we called to schedule the guy to come out that the previous stains did not come out of the couch. We also informed them that there was a new stain on the couch from a hour ago because we have kids, and that what happens. They said they would have to evaluate the pictures and get back to us. They never did. We have been calling non stop to either honor the warranty/Replace the couch (which broke due to an overweight person sitting on it), or return the money. They have been playing the waiting game with us because our warranty expires in August.
Trying to have it expire so they can claim that they can no longer honor the warranty. The people who deal with the customer service in their warranty dept are terrible. As long as I draw breath, I will make sure to let everyone I ever come across about how terrible their service is and how the try to bamboozle people out of their hard earned money. In the Fall of 2014 we furnished an apt. completely through City Furniture. We spent thousands of dollars to fill five rooms. The sales people are outgoing, positive and driven. They want your sale! And, they will tell you anything to get it. Including selling us a warranty that is a scam! The company does not stand by the contract or their products. We were told the contract (which cost us hundreds of additional dollars) would cover any damage to the furniture regardless of how the damage occurred. However, when we needed to use this policy (within months of purchasing the furniture), the guidelines changed. And, in fact, it didn't cover any of the issues, except for manufacturer's issues, which was not the case of any of our damages (most of which occurred prior to delivery or during the time of delivery).
The delivery was very late and off-schedule. We were told it would be delivered between 1 PM - 5 PM. The day of, it was changed to 6:00, 6:30, 7:30. Finally, it came at 8:30 PM and ruined our dinner plans with friends (it all still needed to be set up). It was getting dark and we did not have lighting set up yet. The delivery men left after 9:25 that evening. We ate dinner at 10. So, the scratch (which was covered up with brown marker) from top to bottom of the mirror frame was not noticeable at the time (along with the scratch on the bed frame, which was not touched up). We didn't see these scratches until a few days later. The company still refuses to do anything about repairing or replacing these pieces. They claim they are not responsible.
The product is a huge disappointment as well! The quality of the furniture is nothing more than cheap materials. While it may look good from a distance, it doesn't last. Unfortunately, I have tried to work with the company and Customer Services for 8 months (as of this writing), since we noticed the issues (only four days after delivery) and we have gotten the run-around repeatedly. Heartache and hardship is what their employees are taught to provide.
In the near future we will be purchasing a house. We will need to furnish three bedrooms, family room, living/dining room and kitchen. I can promise it will NOT be with anything from City Furniture. They lost a good, loyal customer and I hope others will learn from this. We know we aren't the first to experience the disloyalty of this company. We hope we'll be the last, but know that most likely isn't realistic. My advice to anyone looking for new furniture and living through the excitement of furnishing their home or vacation home is to stay away from City Furniture. You will be very sorry and terribly disappointed.

However at the time of delivery the guys that delivered it damaged the dresser and didn't say anything about denting my new furniture and breaking the frame piece of the bed. How dare you be so inconsiderate by staying quiet after damaging my expensive furniture. Also the handles to the drawers are silver with diamonds and they started coming off the same week. I had to get it serviced a few times. My couch which cost me about $2043.89 looked like it was used and abused for being new. So City Furniture exchanged it for me after me having to get transferred from manager to manager. However when they replaced my couch they gave me a defective.
My furniture is only 8 months old but when I sit on it feels as if I've had it for years. I sit on my chase that reclines and just by me seating on the chase it reclines back on its own. It's so irritating to sit and to hear a clicking sound and it going backwards. I have to put a hamper in the back of the chair for it not to go back. Not only that but when I sit on it my back can feel the hard part of it because it barely has cushion on it. I've already gotten it serviced a few times. Later I called City Furniture Headquarters and they said that it was their policy and that they get $50.00 to check out if there is a manufacturer's defect and that they would not even consider this a defect - just wear and tear. So therefore I was going to be charged $50 dollars to come and look at something that they had no intention of fixing. The sofa is usable for now but in 1 year or so it will have to be replaced. I bought a sleeper sofa from City Furniture on March 21st. I was told that they are out of stock and next shipment will on April 2nd. So my delivery will on April 3rd. That was fine with us since our guest wasn't arriving till the 6th. On April 2nd we received a phone call from delivery person saying that he will call between 6 am and 7:30 am to inform us the delivery time for the mattress. We kind of got confused when he said mattress so we informed him that we have ordered a sleeper sofa. He told us that sofa is not available until April 16th but he will bring the mattress for the sofa. We immediately called customer service and been told by them also sofa we choose not available till 16th. When we say it was promised for the 3rd. How could you promise something not available? They said that they are sending the mattress like that should be enough.
What are we going to do with a mattress without sofa bed? Have my guest sleep on the floor? So we declined the mattress and asked to talk to a manager. Person said that she was manager offered us a different color sofa bed. We did not want a different color sofa bed if I did want a beige sofa I would have buy in the first place. We were basically told "Either take beige sofa or have to wait till the 16th." After few phone calls back and forth and different offers from different people like 10% off, don't pay tax etc. we didn't have solution. And one so-called manager named ** says "Oh we can't give you 10% off you already have a free shipping." That made us more mad since free shipping was part of the promotion we have purchased the sofa. All we wanted was to get the sofa before the 6th, before our guest arrived.
I then write note on City Furniture's Facebook page how upset we are and now we have to go out and find a solution for our guest. Someone name ** from customer service replied and told us to e-mail her with explanation of the issue. Here is the copy of the letter: On March 21st we purchased a sofa bed & memory foam mattress form the store at 3501 North Federal Hwy, Fort Lauderdale. Our Sales Rep was **. The items we purchased were not available for immediate delivery but we were told they would be delivered on Friday April 3rd. We have guests arriving on April 6th for my birthday, so we knew we would be getting the bed in time.
On Thursday evening, April 2nd we received an automated call reminding us of delivery the next day. Early Friday, April 3rd the delivery personnel called to say they would be delivering our mattress, when we asked about the sofa bed we were informed it was not available! We declined the delivery, what good is the mattress without the bed? I was angry that nobody thought to inform us our purchase was not available, we could have made other arrangements. To think it is okay to just deliver a mattress is inexcusable!
We called the store and were told the sofa bed could be delivered April 15th or 16th, almost 2 weeks late and over a week later than when we purchased it for. I explained we bought the product in good faith because the delivery fit our requirements. I was told "Sorry, nothing we can do". When I pressed the issue of customer service I was then told I could have a smaller one or a different color! If I had wanted a smaller or different colored sofa bed I would have purchased it on March 21st and not had to wait!
I explained the major inconvenience and, after numerous calls between myself, my wife who was at work, and the store, was eventually offered a 10% discount ($85). When I accepted the discount I was then told I could not have it as I already had free delivery! Free delivery of what? A sofa bed that wasn't delivered? I bought the products during that promotion because of the promotion, then to be told that was all I was entitled to! This was not helping my experience at all. I then asked to speak to a manager, she told me the same thing! I was very upset at this point, when I told her about the discount she said she could give me the tax back ("about $50").
Now the numbers were going down. I was now infuriated, which I voiced. She then told me I could have an $85 store credit or gift card. At this point I have no intention of ever shopping with City Furniture again, so I declined. I asked to speak to the General Manager, she told me he was off and to "call back tomorrow".On Saturday April 4th, I called and spoke with the GM. He said I was not entitled to any other discount as I already had free delivery. I was livid, he eventually offered me a $35 discount (the ever-decreasing discount was back). At this point I was far from the ideal customer and he then tried to offer me different products.
I explained I did not want a different product, the size of my doorway dictates what will fit in the room. He said he would look around the showroom for any other ideas and call me back. He told me there were no other products that would fit unless I wanted something smaller or a different color. Don't get me started again! He said to come and see him at the store on Tuesday or Wednesday but that really is too late. I am disgusted with the lack of communication from the very start, to the inability of the managers to rectify the situation (although it seems their hands are tied by corporate restrictions). Thank you for your attention to this matter.
Then we received a phone call from someone named **. She says now they have the sofa bed and they can deliver as of today but this time is already April 6th and our guest has arrived. So we had to go out and purchase an inflatable mattress for $100. We asked her if they are willing to compensate that expense since it is their fault that we don't have our sofa bed which should not be arriving till 16th but magically showed up on the 6th when we publicly complaint.
She says she cannot help me with that since it's there was never a guarantee that sofa was to be delivered on the 3rd!! I said "I beg the difference since I have a receipt in my hand and a verbally told by your salesperson both stating April 3rd." She was rudely dismissed me saying "You want it or not!" I said, "I have to talk to my husband and but most likely no. He will call you in 15-20 minutes." When we called she didn't answer the phone, we left a few messages. Finally get to talk to her and we said, "We would like to cancel." She said basically "Suit yourself", not in exact words but her tone of voice clearly apparent she didn't care for our upset or the situation the City Furniture put us in.
They have terrible customer service and they don't keep the promise they made to consumers. I am utterly disappointed with the all process and response we have received. They want your money but they won't own their mistakes or try to redeem themselves. DO NOT SHOP AT CITY FURNITURE IF YOU WANT YOUR PURCHASE TO BE DELIVERED ON TIME!

Buyer beware. My nightmare began on 2/21 at the WPB showroom. I purchased a chair and ottoman that could provide needed support after I had major surgery. My next mistake was to finance the $1,000 payment. The damaged chair was delivered the evening of 2/25. I called customer service and was treated horribly. I reminded the agent of the CF's policy that all furniture is thoroughly inspected before it leaves the warehouse for delivery. CF obviously does not honor its promise. I contacted the store manager and he accused me of "deciding that I did not like how the chair looked in my house and that is why I wanted to return it." I told him not to twist the facts and not to put words in my mouth. He hung up on me.
I called customer service again and asked to please consider an extension for me to reselect another chair from the showroom as I would not be able to get there before my surgery. I was refused that but was offered that if I keep the damaged furniture I will be issued a $160 credit. That offer was just unacceptable. The technician came to my house and confirmed that the damage beyond repair. I finally was given an extension as I have been unable to drive since my surgery and am homebound. I really do not want to own anything from CF as they are very disrespectful and unprofessional and there is no guarantee that the replacement will not have defects. I do not trust the company. There still has not been any resolution and I still have the damaged chair in my house. A very dissatisfied consumer.

I had purchased a Living room, dining room and two bedrooms sets at City Furniture. Purchase date was November 15, 2014. The delivery was on December, 5th 2014. On 03/20/15 I noticed a tear coming from a seam from my couch. I notified A supervisor (**) from the warranty dept. I was advised from her, that a $50.00 fee would be initiated to a service call visit. Yet I have a one year warranty. I was advised I was being charged with this fee because I did not have a in-house service contract. I was also advised I could bring the couch to them for free. That I would like to see!! They would tell me I caused the damage bringing it to them.
If you order furniture with a warranty, what makes you believe people would be taking it to them for repairs. I would not like to be charged with a service. That is not expectable. If I took an extended warranty that would be understood and that should be included in the price. My furniture less than four months old.

I wanted to buy outdoor furniture. They told me the furniture was on stock, so I placed my orders and made a down payment. When I wanted the furniture to be delivered, nothing came in as ordered. They told me, that some of my furniture was on backorder for over 1 MONTH. This is ridiculous and very disappointing. They collect my money from the down payment, then they're not able to deliver everything on time and I have to spent more time on finding replacements. I've ordered 6 chairs, I've received 3. I ordered two tables, I've received one plus one bar stool, which were supposed to be 3. So now I have maybe half of what I've ordered and no one at City Furniture cares. Summer is coming and my patio isn't even halfway set up. So what, City Furnitures has their money!!!! Never again, no way.

Leather couches are the most uncomfortable I've ever had and easily scratched. I was not compensated for my furniture taking 3 months to arrive. I wish I had sent it all back. I was told the furniture that my family and I were very interested in was in stock and was ready to be delivered the next day. We decided on that specific furniture and went through with our purchase. We disposed of the furniture we had in our home to get ready for the newly purchased furniture we would be receiving the next day. The next day came and the City Furniture delivery person called us to let us know the furniture was on back order for a MONTH. I am extremely shocked that this was not mentioned at the time of interest. The salesperson (who failed to mention his name the entire time he was helping us) did have information about certain other pieces that were on back order but mentioned that the pieces we liked could be delivered the next day.
I am beyond disappointed and upset at the way City Furniture handled my family as a client. I would never buy anything else from City Furniture knowing this is the way they handle their clients and client experiences. Moreover, buyer beware! If purchasing from CF, know that even if a salesperson tells you it's ready for delivery and you purchase items, this may not be true so don't get rid of your furniture until you have the other pieces at your doorstep!! Definitely a desperate move on the part of CF to make sales and meet goals.

Went there on Saturday and saw a BIG sign out in the front stating that City Furniture has free delivery over $500 of purchases. I spent 2.5 hours on buying 5000 worth of furniture. I wanted to put some of the expenses via my in-house credit card (Wells Fargo and Tidewater), in which she said, "That's fine." When we were about to finalize, I see 2 invoice with 2 charges for delivery. I asked why are you charging me $120 by 2 and she said because we are issuing 2 sets of invoices. I said, "That's crazy. You are advertising that you have free delivery." She said it doesn't pertain to in-store credit cards, only in cash.
Even though I was a bit puzzled with the false advertising, I was willing to pay the 1 delivery, but not 2, as it really is 1 sale. The saleslady called her dummy manager who didn't have time for anything, but when she asked him about the invoices, he smirked at the question and immediately said, "Yes, you are going to be charged 2 delivery charges," and then walked away, as he said he was busy. I said to her, "I will not pay for 2 delivery charges," and she gave me her card and said "sorry," so I walked away. I called the manager today (3 days later) and the manager said they usually waive the 1 charge of delivery and the saleslady should have known this. I already bought my furniture with a different company, but I couldn't believe how they let me walk away from the store and lose a sale of over $5000 for a delivery of $120. Tell me...that's normal?

We purchased over $14,000 of furniture in June 2014. During delivery leg was broken on dining room table. Deliverymen knew it was broken, but did not say a word. Upon request, a new leg was delivered but table was still very unstable. Patrick from The Villages store come out to look at the table. He agreed table was unstable and put some screws in one of the other legs of the table but it was still unstable. We visited the Spanish Springs store to complain, but a manager said the only way to fix wobbly table was to take middle leaf out that should/would stabilize table. He said that he had many complaints about that Palm table in the past, but there was nothing they could do. He did provide us with phone number for Customer Service.
We contacted Customer Service and they sent Tom from Furniture Repair out to fix the table. We also had a spring protruding in our recliner sofa that was also purchased at your store. When Tom arrived he said we had to pay him $50 in cash before he could even look at the problems. I paid him in cash and after an examination he said that the problem with the table was a poor design and that we should try to exchange the table for a different type of table. He also looked at the sofa recliner and said he fixed it. The first time I sat in it, the same spring was protruding into my back. I called Tom back and he said that was in the design of the sofa, but would come back to look at it. That was over a month ago, and have never heard/seen from Tom.
We contacted Customer Service to discuss a trade in for the table but we were told that would not happen. We were willing to trade the existing Palm table in for another table of similar color and were also willing to pay difference. We paid a carpenter to make a house call and examine the table. He removed the legs; changed out screws; and re-glued all of the legs. Ironically, he even found screws that were missing! The table is now stable, but due to no thanks to City Furniture and added expense to our pockets! Our $50 should be returned to us immediately! If your service team would have taken the time to really examine this table (turn it over and examine it properly), they would have found the problem. We have posted our total disappointment with City Furniture on The Talk of The Villages and we will continue to discourage friends and neighbors from purchasing furniture from your store.

I complained 2 times to customer service with no response. So I drove to City Furniture and talked to Matt. He said I would get a new recliner in 2 weeks.
So we waited until today another redneck came out in a explorer which I said "you can't have my recliner in that little sub." He said "I came to repair it." I was furious. Told him no then the customer service told me on his phone they wanted to replace the cushion. I told them the frame was broke then she said "we will order you a cushion and a frame separate." The kicker is it will take 12 to 16 weeks.
We always bought from rooms to go before; they had a super customer service dept. I am not pleased with this company at all. I wish I could take the whole thing back and buy at rooms to go again. Very disappointed customer.

We bought the table and many other pieces of furniture in July of 2014, total cost around 15 thousand. When the delivery men came they had problems putting on the legs and base of table together with the table top. The delivery man said it seemed secure but he would put a notation on paperwork that it may not work. About 3 weeks ago the table got very wobbly, we had to put something under it to stabilize it until City Furniture could send someone out to us. Ramon the repairman made an appointment but didn't show up, said he had car problems. I guess he had phone problems too.
We called customer service. They gave us all kinds of flack about not sending out pictures of the table. We sent them on two different occasions, then on talking to second customer service person she said they found them. We were told we would have to pay 50.00 to the repair person only for him to tell us the legs were defective which is what the delivery man had already put a notation on it. Ramon then said he could not fix "no kidding". Customer service then made appointment to have new part put in, only to call us and cancel that appointment too. We had visitors coming that week and needed a table to sit at so we found a professional to fix the table to our satisfaction something City Furniture could not do. We called to cancel appointment for the repairman to come back, customer service seemed not to care!

Issues with bed: Screw was put into frame and cracked the frame. Holes in frame did not have slats attached to them. Center posts were not on all slats, pretty much every other one. The posts that were connected were crooked and the screws were stripped. Slats are very thin and warped. 2-3 slats are cracked altogether.
Their answer to me: After speaking with customer service for the 3rd time, they started to blame it on me because the bed is on tile. I said, "If that is so, your people should have to me told me about this situation when I bought the bed." Your customer service people that they will not warranty any more service on my bed because of this! That is crazy since I bought the 3 year extended warranty. HEY! CITY FURNITURE! Despite the slogan of the store being "same day delivery 7 days a week" she told us that it would be Friday, maybe Saturday at the latest that we'd get our new couch - 6 days. We liked the couch and were having a party at the condo on Saturday, so we assumed it would be fine to receive the couch on Saturday afternoon.
On Saturday, however, the truck delivery driver called at 8am to say they were backordered and only had one piece of the sectional - the small chaise and not even the sofa part. We were furious that we'd been told it would be Saturday to begin with, but now we were told it was backordered. My boyfriend called the Fort Myers, FL store manager Danny this morning once the store opened. Danny was completely unapologetic, admitted to no fault, and told us the sofa would be delivered next Thursday - 11 days after we ordered it and after the party we scheduled tonight, Saturday. Do not pay extra for the warranty because they will send three older ladies over your house who have no idea how to fix anything. They will take one look at your furniture and say, "There is nothing we can do, have a good day." If you call and talk to any customer service representative they will say, "There is nothing we can do, have a great day." I have a handle in the middle part of the couch so that part can recline. The handle sticks out so if you sit on it the handle goes where the sun don't shine. An obvious safety hazard especially for kids. They told me. "Just don't sit there." So basically, "Don't sit or lay on that area of the couch and that's the way it's made, have a good day. If someone gets hurt, call us and will send a tech." Finally this last Sunday I went to the City Furniture in Cutler Ridge. We were met by a very nice saleslady. She was very patient with us and showed us around the showroom. After explaining to her which furniture we were interested in and after she explained to us about the warranty from City Furniture at the three-year in-home service. We decided to buy the furniture. We were told and asked to sign an agreement which spoke about return policy and restocking fees. We had no problems with that. We were also explained that the three-year in-home service was never used that we would get a store credit after the 3 years that we could apply to buying anything else in store.
We were told that all the furniture was in stock and that it could be delivered the following day, which was a Monday. We agreed to this. The following day we could not wait to receive our new furniture. We were called by their service department and told that the furniture would be delivered between 4 and 7 on that Monday. Delivery was made as scheduled, but we were disappointed to find that the table which was Tocara Dark Tone Rectangular Table was damaged. There were also 2 chairs that were damaged, and the server had a nick on the side and the rear paneling was coming off. When I told the delivery man that I was not accepting these items, we called the customer service department and explain to them what we wanted to return. The customer service person told me to keep the server, and that they would send someone to look at it because we had bought a three-year in-home service. At the moment I agreed to keep the server.
After my husband got home and we checked the server and what customer service had said, he called customer service and asked them to please pick up the server that we were not going to accept damaged furniture that the damage had not occurred at our home. Customer service insisted that they were not going to pick it up and that they were going to send somebody out to take a look at the furniture. This made us believe that City Furniture was in the business of selling damaged furniture, and then using the three-year in-home service to repair them at your location. Therefore, using your in-home service from day one, so that you could not be reimbursed for that amount is in 3 years, you did not use it.
At this point, we had no choice because the driver had already left and we had to wait till we spoke to the person that was coming to view the damaged server. Before the driver left, we made arrangements for another delivery attempt of the table and the 2 chairs that were damaged to be re-delivered the following Wednesday. On Wednesday afternoon City Furniture delivery truck arrived to deliver the table and 2 chairs. We inspected the 2 chairs and they were fine. Upon inspecting the table, we noticed that the table was damaged in the same location where the previous table was damaged. The driver told us that he has been delivering furniture for a long time and that this is common in this table that it was a stress crack. That the in-home service would come to our property and with a crayon would fix the problem. He told us that this particular table always had this same issue.
Needless to say we were extremely disappointed with his response and the fact that we had paid for the furniture and for a three-year in-home service. We called customer service and customer service again told us that we had a three-year in-home service, and that somebody would be contacting us to examine and repair the furniture. We declined to keep the table and have it returned and again made another appointment date for the following Friday for delivery of the table. After speaking to the customer service representative and not getting a satisfactory response from them. We decided to visit the Cutler Ridge store to speak to the manager about our concerns.
By this time, after 2 attempts to deliver the table and chairs, and not having the server picked up or exchanged. We decided that we did not want the furniture. We were told by the manager in charge that the furniture could be returned, but there would be a restocking fee of 15 percent and that I would have to the monies would not be returned. The manager called the customer service department and was told that there would be no change in their policy.
We originally agreed with her policy. What we did not know was that they were going to have to attempt to deliver the furniture 3 times to get it right. We never gave them the opportunity for the third time, because we have already experienced the poor customer service. We loved the furniture that we were buying. But, we quickly realized that we had no support of City Furniture, and that they were strong arming us with their policy. When they never in 2 attempts were able to deliver the new and undamaged furniture we thought we were getting. We did not buy damaged goods for them to come repair at our home. We expected and deserve better service.

I recently purchased a sofa at City Furniture, Fort Lauderdale. They delivered on time and the sofa was in good condition. The problem was that I had to return it because it did not fit my small apartment. I was very disappointed because when I bought the sofa over the phone after I went to the showroom and looked at the sofa, the sales rep Matt never told me about the return restrictions and exaggerated restocking fees. I was upset because I was never aware of such policies. I decided to pay for the restocking fee to have the sofa removed and make a re-selection even though there was nothing of my liking.
I went to the North Miami location to use my credit and as soon as the sales person Carlos found out it was a credit and that he was not going to make any commission on the sale; he turned rude and completely ignored us. He did not stop looking at the watch very unprofessional! The managers don't care about customer satisfaction once they've made the sale and their commission that is all they care about. Not customer retention practices and I would never recommend to anybody to purchase anything from that furniture chain.

Salesman talked me into buy a mattress over two thousand dollars. Two years later the mattress was sinking in on both sides. When I called city furniture, they said I had to spend $50 dollars to have it evaluated to see if they agreed. Not only did I pay but it was over two weeks before they sent somebody. And they looked at it and the gentleman said it was more than a half inch sunk in on both sides. The customer service lady on the phone said it needed to be worst than that to get a new mattress or any type of help. Meanwhile I'm not going to a back doctor which I never had issues with until the mattress, and the doctor told me it was my bed causing the back pain. Nobody wants to help and I have been sleeping on the couch. The people are rude and have no concern about their customers, just about making their commission and selling their brand mattress. Me and my family will never ever step foot in a City Furniture. EVER!!!

I purchased a sectional sofa, mattress, and bed frame from your store on May 25th. Small Disappointment #1: After paying for it, the salesman told us the soonest it could be delivered was 22 days later on June 16th. When it was delivered, one piece of the sectional was on back order. Problem #2: I had to get rid of my old complete sectional furniture to make room for the new incomplete sectional, which was not very comfortable or welcoming for family or guests. I was told the scheduled date for the back-ordered part of the sectional was going to take about a month because they ship it from overseas.
Finally I received the call that it was in and scheduled to be delivered on July 14th. Huge Discourteous Problem #3: The driver called in the morning and gave me a 3 to 5 window and at 5:15, I called the number that called me in the morning to ask if they were running behind schedule and the driver told me that it was never put on the truck because it was damaged and said that someone should have called me to let me know. When I called Mike, the customer service manager, he told me that he would take care of it, but after that day, I haven't heard from him and on two different days when I asked for him, I was told he wasn't available.
On the 15th I called back to see what was going on and talked to Daniel and set up a 9am delivery the 22nd. I then talked to Jesse, the customer service supervisor, and I got upset because all of the customer service people that I have spoken to seem to act like what I have encountered was and is the norm. Yes, I was upset that I waited around for nothing and wasn't given the courtesy of a phone call, but Jesse told me I was being rude. Nice customer service.
The new one came in and was scheduled to be delivered on the 22nd. I was going out of town that day so was anxious for the morning call, but didn't get one. Getting unbelievable now problem #4: When I finally reached someone, I was told that I was scheduled for the 5 to midnight delivery instead of the 9 am one. I had to cancel because we were not going to be home. When I called customer service to ask why they set it up wrong when I specifically said that I needed an early morning delivery, I was told that it looked like that was the only available time that day.
Today, the very next day, I called and talked to Shandalyn, customer service manager, and told her how dissatisfied I was with City Furniture because I have rearranged my schedule several times for deliveries, have wasted time calling, have had an incomplete living room set for two months, was offended by a customer service supervisor, and have yet to have a complete sectional. #5: When I expressed some gesture of a discount, she told me that wasn't possible and said that the only solution would be to return the sectional for almost what I paid for it.
Is this for real? #6 Then I talked to a showroom manager and he told me that they didn't even have my furniture piece, so what was going to be delivered yesterday? My guess is that is why Shandalyn was in such a hurry to not make me happy and just take the furniture back because she knew that they still didn't have my furniture. We set up a pick up to return the living room furniture with a 9 to 7pm window for tomorrow and ended with that.
A half an hour later the sale representative called me to come up with a solution that should have been done two months ago which was to send out a manual reclining piece until the power one comes in. As of right now, I still do not have all of my furniture that I paid for on May 25th and do not know when I will. I have to waste another day tomorrow waiting for a delivery. Then waste more time, again, when the correct piece comes in.

I bought a Coventry table and chairs. The table came with a leaf to make it for six. I bought this for a new house that no one lives in at this time. I discovered that a spindle on one chair, from the back leg to the front leg was broken. I wanted City Furniture to replace the chair. They insisted that a repair of the spindle was what they were willing to do. I insisted that a replacement chair was what I wanted.
Since this table and chairs are in a house that no one lives in, I believe that the chair should be replaced. The warranty person said if I was willing to pay 59.00 delivery charge for a new chair. I had already paid about 150.00 delivery charge that included the broken chair, why the hell would I pay again? I CANNOT get over the fact that no one cares.

I contacted city furniture for the second time regarding a couch I purchased from their Miami, fl based location near Pinecrest. I did have the warranty service plan. They said they fixed it the first time. Well, after two months the couch corner caved in again with a piece of wood sticking out under the fake leather (this will hurt your back so be careful). So they sent the same workers out, MARRERO FURNITURE SERVICE to fix it. They come with a minivan and nail gun and just want to nail more wood to it? Then say it's fixed and it happens again so I did not let them fix it because all they were doing was nailing more 2x4s to the couch. They weren't even changing the foam or cushion (making more nails present and more dangerous). Also, they wanted me to sign a waiver stating that I won't hold them or City Furniture responsible for anything because they are doing me a courtesy repair? Oh, it's from usage?
So if you buy a couch from City Furniture, please don't use it and please read these reviews. Also, just so you know some of their sofas are good, but if you have a problem with one, you're pretty much screwed and you or your children could end up with a 2x4 in your spine of your back. They won't replace it even if everything is perfect on it, but a area should be labeled as defective. So be careful and purchase wisely because the warranty service in non existent, not helpful, and not customer friendly. The Sub contractors seem like random people with a nail gun and limited knowledge with no carpentry experience. Their idea of a repair is, let's try this and see if it works, if not, we will come back and try it again. No way. Fix it right or replace it. This is AMERICA!!

Extremely disappointed and unsatisfied with customer service and delivery and will NEVER purchase anything from City Furniture again. Furthermore, I will make sure others are made aware of my experience via the Better Business Bureau, social media and word of mouth, in hopes that they do not spend a bunch of money for mediocre service and spare them from the grief which is connected to City Furniture.
My initial delivery date was 4/6/14, at which time there was a defective drawer pull on one of the drawers. As the delivery guys were here, I spoke with customer service who assured me that they would have someone contact me with the information as to when they would be returning to replace it. After three weeks passed and I had not heard from them, I called customer service and they scheduled it for 4/28/14. Turned out that on 4/28/14 they did not have the part they needed on the truck with them so I had to be re-scheduled for 4/29/14.
On 4/29/14, they arrived at 10:35 pm, despite them calling me earlier and specifying a much earlier arrival time, at which point my family and I were all sleeping and so it could not be done. Despite my many requests to customer service for an early arrival time, again on 5/1/14, I was given an estimated arrival time between 4 and 7 pm and again they arrived extremely late at 10:20 pm which is a completely unacceptable and inconsiderate time of a scheduled arrival.
I have had to miss several hours of work due to the numerous rescheduling dates and times. I've called customer service multiple times only to be treated in a condescending manner by the customer service person on the other end and which resulted in no action being taken. I requested twice to be put in contact with a supervisor and was told everyone was in a meeting and not available. No one ever returned my call. I requested it again last night with the person I spoke to on the phone when the delivery driver was here and expressed how dissatisfied I am with everything and was told someone would call me. Again, no one has reached out to me.
As per your mission statement, "Our company gives the utmost priority to Customer Satisfaction. Our highly trained staff is ready to assist you with any questions regarding your purchases. Our goal is for you to have a wonderful experience with us from the start, and to keep you coming back for your future furniture purchases." None of that statement has been true for me. Instead I have been inconvenienced and when I have tried to address the issues, they have been simply swept under the rug.

We are so called "snowbirds" who first came to Naples 4 years ago. We purchased a condo and bought all of our furniture from City Furniture. When we came back down the following year we noticed that one piece, a padded leather sofa, started to crack. We are only there 4 months out of the year and have no pets or children. We went to City Furniture to explain the problem and they said they could do nothing about it. We were upset. It's gotten progressively worse each year, and each year we went back to City Furniture, with pictures, but got no satisfaction. There was an article in the Naples News this year that rekindled our ire. There's a consumer advocate column called "Carol In Your Corner" wherein an individual had almost exactly the same problem with a padded leather couch that we had.
After three years of dealing with the problem with Rooms Are Us they decided to go to Carol. Carol got the problem resolved for that individual. I wrote a letter to her considering our similar situation, but as of yet have gotten no confirmation from her as to even receiving my email. I also contacted City Furniture and told them about my problem and the similar situation that was resolved by "Carol" with Rooms Are Us. A representative got in touch with me and said she sent our problem to corporate headquarters and they would be in touch with her (or me) soon. Hah! That was a month or two and we've heard nothing.
I've sent her a few emails asking when are we going to get a response. Of course, she's only the messenger. I've been reading on the internet the "many" complaints against City Furniture. A few dealt with the same problem as us-a padded leather couch that has cracked. How does the company keep getting away with not backing their product??? I tell all our friends at the condo to not buy any furniture there. Had we known when we first came to Naples what we know now about them, we certainly would've gone elsewhere for furniture.

City Furniture worst purchase experience ever. On April 4, 2014 I purchased a sofa at City Furniture in North Miami Beach. I scheduled to pick from its warehouse in Tamarac the following day Saturday. On Saturday when about to leave my apt, I called the warehouse. I asked if I could pay to have the sofa delivered to parent's house, instead of my apt and me picking up. The warehouse said that I would have to call my city rep that sold me the sofa for him to arrange it. I called my City Furniture rep. who sold me the sofa. He explained to have the new address inserted in the system, he would have to re-do the invoice with the new delivery address. And in the time that he redo a new invoice I could lose the sofa because the sofa would be in the system for another store to sell it.
I said that's impossible that someone will be buying this sofa in the next two seconds. And what kind of old system software that you can add a new delivery address after a customer has paid in full. Nonetheless, I lost the sofa because there was a waiting list. A waiting list that the rep never mentioned. Because if there is a waiting list automatically when you void an invoice it goes to the first person in the waiting list. I would have never taken the chance in losing the sofa if there was a waiting list. This is unbelievable. I paid for the sofa, the sofa was reserved for me at the warehouse. Because of an old software and a rep that can't inform the customer that you will lose the sofa for a waiting list I end up losing the sofa that I already paid for. How about welcoming City Furniture to the 21st Century. This is not acceptable.

In Jan/2011, I purchased a sofa and recliner for City Furniture. The two items looked nice at first. However, during the last few months the covering is peeling off both pieces of the furniture. I am a single man who is hardly ever home so the use on these two items is minimal at best. The furniture is the typical junk made in China and should not be sold to us here in the USA. It is total crap. I paid over a $1,000 for Chinese junk. I contacted City Furniture and was told sorry but it is out of warranty and the manufacturer will only provided parts not repairs anyway. I think anyone wishing to buy furniture should avoid City Furniture like the plague. I should have stuck with Rooms To Go, I have never had a problem with them.
