My sister went and bought a bed with cash on 8-29-2014 and spoke to manager to please deliver her bed on 9-5-2014.. My sister waited all day for the furniture after she called three times and was told the furniture was on its way. Well I called Aaron's and come to find out they were not going to deliver her furniture until 9-6-2014 after they specifically stated it would be delivered 9-5-2014. I called for her and the manager was very rude. He stated, "We will bring it tomorrow" and I said, "NO you were suppose to deliver it today." The manager stated, "Well, I guess we have to work overtime to get it there." I said, "Well, if you don't she will be there to get her money back." The manager did NOT care that my sister would have to sleep on the floor. After I got upset he stated, "Well I will try to get it there tonight about 930pm." "Really?" I said, "Try? What does that mean? Either you are or not." OMG what happen to customer service... I will tell you something. IT TAKES MONTHS TO FIND A CUSTOMER SECONDS TO LOSE ONE and you just lost TWO AND WE WILL BE SPREADING THE WORD.

I worked here! A widowed woman could not get her late husband's laptop back. She was crying when she returned it, I tried to tell her she was returning it prematurely, that there was still 20 days left in the month with which she could try and get the password or find a friend to help crack the code. But she said she already knows she can't afford the bill alone and turned it in. She comes back a few days later saying she has reconsidered and found a techie buddy that can retrieve her late husband's old info. But my boss said no. Her name wasn't on the account. She left in tears, I told her to call the news in private, she has the right to her images at least. Her memories. Now this was my first job since I was widowed myself. I can't handle this heartlessness. It was all downhill from there. I got my gold name tag in a record 3 weeks but it didn't matter after that. Also, just buy used furniture, don't lease it that is not a house! You want something used go to Craigslist, obviously. Collecting back our leased products is really sad, leasing furniture should go the way of VHS it's outdated. Try not to die in the middle of the contract, or your widow will have something else to cry about.

I rented a living room set in Feb of 2014 from Aaron's. The sofa leg was damaged when it arrived. I contacted Aaron's the next day to have them fix it. I was told by Ozzie that it would be fixed - until this day it's still not fixed. I got a TV in Aug of 2014, and on the 29th I called in my payment from my disability account and Micky took my payment. A short time later, I check my account and it was charge again by Ozzie, and when I called from him to put the money back he refused to. I still have not received my money back on my account.

I have been a loyal customer of Aaron's for about 11 years now. I have bought 3 furniture sets, well 2 but one of them was ruined and they had to have them replace it with a new one after constant back and Forths but I gave Aaron's the benefit of the doubt and they finally made it better by giving us a new set which we still had to pay extra for which was neither here nor there because we agreed (and the new set was a pos too and we kept it, but real leather my bum). So I kept going with Aaron's and I also bought too a freezer, a bed frame and two washer and dryer sets. The first I bought about ten years ago which conveniently broke down 2 months after my payments were done, but back then Aarons' was more of a reputable company and they made things right and fixed their items even though it was done being paid on because paying over $2,000 for a mediocre washer and dryer is a lot! So that was taken care of and I was very pleased. About 6 months later it totally bit the dust but I ate that breakdown and never complained to Aaron's again about it.
So here lies my complaint. I just finished paying off another washer and dryer set and boom, two months after it was done being paid on, the washer crapped out. So I called Aaron's and with a little bit of me having to make them listen because I have been such a good customer they finally said, "We will fix it." They took it in, gave me a temporary washer which worked way better than mine ever did so we realized ours was faulty to begin with. It would never fill all the way and Aaron's told us it was a new sensing thing so we just went with it. But anyway they took ours to fix it which took a little over a month to fix and when we finally got it back and it was dented, scratched so we complained and after some hemming and hawing they gave me a credit toward my bedroom set I have now which was $50 and we will get to the bedroom set.
So we have the washer back for little over a month and again it stopped spinning out and draining again and now it's worse! We called Aaron's yet again and all hell broke loose. They were rude, told me I needed to own my product and they helped me with the first problem. I asked them well, Don't they warranty their work. They told me to call the place that fixed it. They gave me the name - wouldn't give me the number location or what they did to my washer to "fix" it. I finally got a hold of the place and they had no record whatsoever of fixing my washer.
So once again I called Aaron's and asked them, "Doesn't loyalty count for anything these days?" And of course not with the new managers at Aaron's, so I went little further and called corporate a few times which is just an answering service with of course no avail. So needless to say they have done nothing. I told them I would return my new furniture set that I got before I paid my washer and dryer off that of course had scratches and dents in my "new unused" furniture and also had to deal with them delivering me 2 nightstands that were junk. I finally got a new one.
My point is no matter all the crap I have endured, I stayed a loyal customer and of course that goes for nothing, except for them saying own our product and "you should have gotten the extended warranty" which I did ask for after they "fixed" my washer and they said because I didn't hound them for it, I didn't get it. Well excuse me, I thought the Business was supposed to vie for the customer but not when it benefits the customer, only them!
I will have to drop Aaron's forever if nothing is done about this. I am stuck with a $1000 2-year-old washer that I can do nothing with. I am not a rich person and cannot afford to just buy another washer after. In the last 10 years I have gone through 2 washer and dryer sets, 3 living room furniture sets, a freezer, a bed frame and now a bedroom set. Whatever happen to backing your product and taking care of your loyal customers because with my count I have made Aaron's a butt load of cash and all I have gotten in return is crappy furniture, treated like a heel and nothing but aggravating crap!
I really think after all the money I have dropped with this company I am due a new washer. All I wanted was for Aaron's to back their work and their products. I could understand if I was a new customer and my washer was like a year out of contract but come on seriously!!!!!! I really hope this will be resolved. Otherwise I will have to go to the media, the net and a lawyer!!!!!

I have been a loyal customer of Aaron's for 6 months. I recently purchased a bedroom suite at the beginning of August 2014. The dresser was infested with bedbugs. Now my whole house is infested with these nasty bugs. I've tried calling customer service but because it is a franchise store, nobody has responded. I've tried talking to the manager but all they want to do is come and get the furniture.
I have had exterminators come to my house to treat it. I have also been to the doctor because I am allergic to them. The manager doesn't want to take responsibility. My dryer (from Aaron's too) will heat up but not spin clothes to dry them. I called to get them to bring me a loaner and see what is wrong with this one. The manager said since we are having a issue with the bedroom suite that they would not do anything and it's included in the issue as well. The whole situation is not right. Don't ever buy anything from this particular store. I have been hung up on, yelled at on the phone, and lies about coming to pick up the furniture.

I just recently got a rent to own contract for living room furniture and found the table and chair damaged. After making several calls to the Manager to no avail, I went by the store and told them about it. The young lady told me they would deliver the replacements, that coming Thursday. I never heard from anyone to confirm, so I called. I spoke to **, the Manager, who delivered it. He told me he was coming to replace them that day, between 3pm and 8pm, and never showed up nor called. Then when I call him the next day, he says he needs to come look at it, because as he says "when he delivered it, the furniture was fine". There is a hair line crack in the table and a small scratch on the chair arm. The customer service at the 2564 Wesley Chapel store is horrible! I told him forget it, just come get the whole damn set! I will never do business with Aaron's again.

In September of 2012 I did a rent to own with Aaron's rents (875 Bridge St., Brighton, Co.) I rented a love seat and couch. I was told at the time I signed my contract that if something happened to the furniture while still under the lease contract that it would be fixed or replaced. We had an issue with the love seat in July of 2013, the handle broke on the recliner. I was told at the time that they couldn't replace it at that time, that they were on a buying freeze and couldn't order anything. They called me about a month later and told me that they had a replacement and would be delivering it. When they arrived at my house the whole back of the love seat was ripped, I wouldn't let them unload it. They called me a couple of days later and told me that they had another replacement. They arrived with a so called new love seat, but once they delivered it and put it in my living room, I noticed that the back of the love seat was ripped and the corner was peeled back.
They tried to tell me that it occurred while trying to get it through my door. With the damage to the love seat, my door frame should have damage and it does not. I tried calling and talking to their manager at the time **, and I was told that they would look into it. Every time I would make a payment I would ask what the status of the love seat was and I would get another excuse. Then the first part of this year the store was under new management. I asked the new manager ** about my love seat and was told that they had a stack of issues to go through from the previous management. Then in April I went to the store and told them that the cup holder on the love seat was cracked and falling through the bottom and to see what they were going to do with the tears. They sent someone out the following week to look at it and I was told they would order a new cup holder and they took pictures of the love seat where it was torn.
In May when I made my payment I asked about the status of the love seat and was told that the cup holder was on back order and they are not sure yet what they are going to do about the tears. I asked again in June and July. I was told someone would be out to replace the cup holder on July 18th. I stayed home all day waiting and nobody ever showed up or called. I called again on August 25th and they told me that they would send ** out on August 4th. ** came back out on the 4th and finally replaced the cup holder that was ordered 4 months prior. He took pictures again of the torn love seat and Said he would talk to ** and get back to me. He told me to email him if I had any further questions. I emailed him on August 5th with no response.
Finally on August 15th I went into the store. I made another payment and asked to talk to **. After waiting 20 min ** finally came out. I told him I wanted this issue addressed. ** said "sorry I didn't respond, my wife had a baby." ** told me on August 15th that he would send ** back out to get the serial numbers off the love seat. He said that they were coming across several pieces of furniture that the other management had sent out as new but were in fact used but that they were still collecting payments as if it was a new piece of furniture. On August 18th ** came back out to get the serial numbers off the love seat, but when he went to take the picture there was no serial number stamp on the couch so he took the serial number off the recliner mechanism and told me that he would give this info to ** and they would call me back.
On August 22nd I called back and Spoke to **. He said he was still waiting to hear from the manufacturer. I don't know what good that is going to do because when the love seat left the manufacturer it was new, how is that going to prove anything. He said he would call me back. On August 22nd I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau in Colorado and in Georgia where the corporate office is located. I also filed a complaint with the Corporate office. On August 28th I called the corporate office since I had not heard back from them and was told that they would forward my complaint again to the district manager. I tried calling every hour since 11 am to the store to speak to **. I was told every time that he was out on deliveries but would have him call me when he got back in. At 4:30 I called the store and was told he was gone for the day. I only have $ 263.47 left until the love seat is paid off. I believe that they are waiting to address this issue until it's paid off so they don't have to fix their mistake. I guess my next step will be to take this to the media!!!

I am aware my Love Seat set has 6 payments left. As of 3 months ago (!) I couldn't make a payment online realizing that they will not accept any cards from me. Which the Rep kept saying it's decline. So! After the last 2 attempts, I have been cashing in person, and have my receipts. Aaron's on Georgia Street are still calling. They are telling me my sister is late but why call me when she has her own cell phone number. So! The account is under my sister name because I was helping her rebuild her credit - it's why we're still doing things in payment and she pays for a bedroom set. She showed me her screenshot of her online payment.
After talking to my sister last Sunday, August 17, 2014, She has paid for the month when she is making semi payments and still owing about a few months of payment. We decided to look online together. We see that Aaron's Account Manager has not posted my payment but it is showing up that I haven't paid for August.
Seriously! What is this Account Manager trying to do? Pull a scam on me because last time I checked my Love Seat set I got for my parents as an early Christmas gift last year was brand new. While I am making most of the payments, she think she can just pull this scam so she can take the sofa, pay the differences off, and that isn't just unfair but stealing. It is pissing me off that this Account Manager is trying to take advantage making it look like I'm late so she can come the Love Seat over her scam she is pulling.
I would like for you guys to look into it ASAP before it's too late because Account Manager like this is the reason why you may lose businesses. Being an experience Sales when I was 18, I believe consistent & customer value is benefiting. Harassing, cheating, stealing, and scamming consumers/customers is bad business method when I am from a small town. Imagine if people stop purchasing through Aaron's. You may not be in business in a few years. Please look into it and make them stop harassing and stealing from your customers before they make this any worse! - A valued customer point of view

They need to have negative star ratings. I had made an agreement and it was supposed to be noted in my file that while it is due on the 15th they would not stop calling me until the 20th and that I would always pay by the end of the month, which they said was fine. The ridiculousness of this business is beyond imagination. If I had known this or had been smart and read reviews I would have NEVER EVER even walked into the store EVER!! I am out of work still since last September and have explained this to them several times that we will pay when we can - send someone to my ** house was just the last straw!!!! I HATE AARONS and decided that I would be writing MY OWN AWFUL REVIEW TO ADD TO THE OTHER ONES!!!!
Calls go straight to voice mail because they call the day after you miss a payment and then every day after until the payment is made (even though arrangements have been made), and that's how it is going to stay until we are done with the payments and the units are ours. I cannot wait for that day to get here! Believe me if we did not have to have them I would have let them take it the other day when they showed up at our door when our parents were here!!!! UNFORGIVABLE!!!! I have never been so embarrassed in my entire life! Good thing THEY understand the hard times that most of the country is in right now and that we are in at this time. YOU WILL ALWAYS GET YOUR PAYMENTS UNTIL THEY ARE PAID OFF SO THEY NEED TO BACK OFF!!!!

It started 2 years ago September. My fridge went out and had to get another and fast as my food would go bad and with 4 kids in the home that's a lot of food. So I went to Aaron's after looking alwaysigslist. Found a nice fridge like I've always wanted, you know with freezer on bottom. Signed papers for a fridge and washer and dryer seeing how my cousin needed hers and would of spent more a month on going to laundromat. I was so excited. Not only was I getting a nice fridge but washer and dryer also.
See I've never had anything New (or even close). I have used one of their programs months after paying fridge off completely in Feb. My husband does construction and is seasonal where we live due to extreme weather changes. We have struggled to keep payments but we have always paid in that mo. We have since gotten a couch, vacuum and TV as well as bought an entertainment center outright from Aaron's. Now that our washer and dryer will be paid off in full next mo (in other words the end of payments on it), they want to come and get everything because we are barely a mo. late.
We called and explained that my husband got laid off totally unexpectedly for this time of year and that we would be in to pay but needed time. They said ok. Let me say that we have had couch since February and still have not received all the pieces for it and still made payments. Now after barely a mo. they made a payment arrangement with my husband to pay $100 today and pay rest on Friday. 2 hrs after them arranging this, they call me and say they have to pick everything up. Now that my washer and dryer is paid off next mo.
This is ridiculous. I understand they need their payment but we have NEVER missed a payment altogether. And in the 2 yrs have never been more than 1 WEEK late. I have made them thousands of dollar s and this how they treat me. Chances are we will end up in court. So on that note, If you are reading this and are thinking about going here, I'M BEGGING YOU FOR YOUR OWN SANITY, DON'T DO IT! See this is how they make their $ by waiting till you almost have it paid off then coming and getting it to sell to someone else and start this all over again.

I bought a trundle bed for my daughter. It was delivered and within a month it broke!! The frame broke. It was poor workmanship plain and simple, but when Aaron's sent two of their so-called professionals out to look, they would not take the bed back and basically told me my daughter was too fat for the bed and that's why it broke!! So I have paid all this money for a piece of garbage that is of no use to anyone. I supposedly owe five payments on this garbage and I refuse, that's right, REFUSE to pay another penny on it!!!
Next I bought a washer and dryer set. I got behind one month and I was told by a manager and he actually wrote it on a piece of paper that I only owed a bit over 96.00 to pay them off. I borrowed money and paid what was asked and thought I now owned my washer and dryer. Then because of a complaint by my daughter I got a phone call and at that time I was told I owed three more payments on the washer and dryer. I have already paid probably three times what they are worth.
Recently we had two deaths in the family and I have been in Oregon helping my sister with stuff ,and Aaron's has been going over and trying to strong arm my family and threaten them. Because of where I’m at, I’m unable to get a signal sometimes on my cell. But I did leave a message just for Aaron's because my daughter said she is going to catch up with everything when she gets her grant money, instead of buying a car. But do they care? Hell no. I was told they went banging on the door and woke everyone up at ten pm and my sister and daughter had to be at work at 5 am the next morning so they didn't bother getting up to answer the door. And I was told that sat morning they came banging again like they were making a bust and my mom was washing dishes and totally ignored them. They could see each other but they pissed her off so she wouldn't answer the door.
My daughter is taking some money to them this Friday when she gets paid from working, then she will pay them the rest when her grant money is loaded onto her card. Plus I will give her money to give them when I get paid. But I want that garbage bed dropped. I'm not paying for insults and garbage.

Purchased a Pre-Owned TV From Childress, TX Aaron's store. The TV had been through their service center and check for function, everything was said to be in Excellent condition. After having the TV for 2 weeks, several of the sound inputs stopped working. Aaron's picked up the unit (and dropped off a much lesser quality "Loaner") for the unit to go for service. After calling Aaron's Local store 4-5 times, NEVER getting a call back, the TV was finally returned to the store.
A Store Rep called and setup a delivery of the "repaired" TV for Fri (Specific dates being left blank on purpose...court date pending). Friday, stayed home all day waiting... nothing... Saturday, stayed home all day waiting... nothing. I called the store on that next Monday, I was told when they checked the TV at the store, before delivering it, it was missing ALL the input and output ports on the TV and was being sent back to service for further repair. NOTE: There was no phone call to let us know they would NOT be delivering the TV. I was told by the Store Manager that we would receive a call the following Monday to let us know what was going on. SURPRISE... no call. I know this is long, but the good part is yet to come... Hang in there.
After calling the store several more times over the next 6 weeks, I finally was told that the Main board in the TV needs to be replaced, and I would be told something more on Wednesday... today. The store Manager asked me to meet him at the store so we could figure out what was going on from there. I arrived at the store and find out that the Manager in question has Wednesdays off!!!!! I am told by the "general manger" as he called himself, that the TV was not able to be repaired. I requested my money back so I could take my business elsewhere. I was told that I could NOT have the money back, and they would look to see if they could find something else that would replace the now 3-month-old TV, that we have not been able to use. Now getting to the good part...
Not only was I told that I could NOT get my money back by the "General Manager" but the Regional Manager as well. I have been paying the monthly installments on the TV, in good faith that they would have it fixed and back anytime... They now are DEMANDING my next and final payment on this TV that I do NOT have. I turn to some other customer in the store and give a friendly warning that this is how their customer service works... The "General Manager" tell me, "Remove yourself from the property, or I will remove you." As I made him aware that he just Threatened me... aka Assault... Did he want to call the police, or did he want me to.
As I walk out of the store to avoid escalating the situation, I call the police, to prevent the "General Manager" from physically removing me from the parking area. Good thing I did too, because as I was outside the store, in the parking area, the "General Manager" approaches me again... and I make him aware I am on the phone with 911 Dispatch. The problem is still not resolved, but I am not allowed on Aaron's Property. The officers told me I have the right to take this to court, and unless I hear something for a resolution from Corporate in the next day or 2, that is where we will be.

He is of no help, says he has done it on Mon but bank still has nothing from them. I am on a fixed income and now have things bouncing. Wally says that there is nothing he can do and when I try to get a hold of Corporate Office, they never get back to me. This past June we rented to own an electric recliner. I have severe Rheumatoid Arthritis (Not looking sympathy, just stating facts of why I rented this recliner.) I can't sleep in a bed because of severe pain in spine and shoulder. So I must sleep semi seated. When I selected this recliner, it was perfect except for a small stain on the seat. No problem, as I put a sheet down to sleep. After they brought it the first time (over due by 2 weeks) the reclining mechanism wouldn't work. They took it back and fixed it. My s.o. told me that when they brought it back in order to get it into the room they had to shove it through the tight doorway, scraping the paint. When I got home I noticed the arm had paint on it and the seat was slightly slanting. I didn't at the time put two and two together.
After using my chair for about a month the arm started moving away from the frame which caused the seat to drop further. I called AARONS lease and was told that they didn't force it through the door, and they would come by and see about fixing it. After 2 non arrivals I called and they finally showed up. The guy looked at it and said he would find out what he could do. After not hearing from them for a week, I called and was told that they would try and find me a replacement. He didn't know how long it would take. He said I could come in and pick a new one but that it would be higher in price. When I chose this recliner there was nothing broken.
Why can't they just fix what they damaged and leave it at that? The rudeness and carelessness has put me in a terrible bind. I have no choice but to enter into another agreement. Why should I be penalized for their damage? I was told at the time of purchase it was in perfect working order except for the stain. Now I'm told I bought it as is. If that was truly the case why was I told they would fix it and why was the reclining mechanism repaired after I bought it at no cost? Something here stinks and it's not my recliner.

I went back to the store the following day to pick something smaller and I did which was a sofa and loveseat with ottoman and 2 end tables. The young lady assured me that furniture would arrive that following Monday on July 7th. I agreed to this date because she said due to the 4th of July holiday they could not guarantee me any other delivery date except that Monday. Monday comes I get no call, no nothing. I had to call them and ask where is the furniture.
The girl them tells me sorry but I wasn't getting it until the following day. I get the furniture with no tables. A week after having furniture, they looking for a payment. Mind you still no tables. I called them again a week later to ask where is the tables. The manager Ricki tells me "do you need us to pick up the tables?" I said to him "what tables?!!! I haven't receive them yet" lol. Now that is def miss communication in this store. They're ** people! Biggest issue with them is why do I have to keep calling y'all about something I'm renting from you.

Then I contacted the regional manager about the same thing and he said that they were sending orkin's out. The regional manager and Orkin came out to do an investigation and the exterminator said he do not see any sign of them being in my house. So I talked to the regional manager about how I was treated and how unhappy I was by me being a new customer. He told me to come to their Maple store and he can give me a copy of the report, but when I got there he didn't have the report. Then still was trying to sell me furniture at a discounted price. But my house was never exterminated and I have to pay out of pocket for it as well as rewash and purchase the things needed to make that my kids and I would be ok. This genuinely sucks and I feel as if it's nothing I can do but post on social media. If I knew I would be dealing with all of these problems I would not have purchased the recliners.

Dailey they advertise rebuild your credit. It's been 2 years now - nothing ever reported. I'm trying to rebuild my credit - one acct paid off. Have always for 2 years been on time. 1200 for 2 TVs cash, 4 more payments I will have paid 3600. I have too much to lose now invested. I find myself hiding at night living in apt. It’s embarrassing - them banging on my door and windows, yelling out threats, asking my neighbors questions. I'm single dad on disability, doing the best I can, always pay for anything I purchase. I went to Payday Loan Store today so they would stop.

I have called several times to talk to them about the issue and I get no response. But both times I've been given a # saying someone will contact me within 48 hours. It's been 2 weeks since my first attempt to contact them so I called again, given another # and told they cannot find the first complaint. They have another 48 hours to contact me.
As I'm writing this, this so-called Manager David ** calls me and tells me, "It's that it's comical that I call after 4 years of paying it off expecting a new sofa." First of all, no one said anything about buying me a new sofa. This is about fraud. You have a company that sells a product regardless what the product is needs to be what they claim it is. FOR ALL WHO READ, BE VERY WARY AARONS SALES AND LEASING. They claim now it never said was leather. Then why I have the tag in matching material that says genuine leather.

I had never been a customer with Aaron's before. This experience is nothing I would ever do again or tell anyone else to do. If anyone wants to be harassed, peeking in windows, trying to open your door when in shower then go and rent from Aaron's. Since day one I was skeptical on whether or not to go through Aaron's. My boyfriend convinced me to do it, he had previously bought 6 items from them. We had ran into a bad year never not paid, but late maybe 1 to 2 weeks sometimes. I personally hated calling the store cause they have always been rude and argumentative. It got to the point that my boyfriend and I would argue over who would call the store.
They have been showing up in different cars waiting down the street, harassing our neighbors. Even someone who knew them asked them why they where hiding down the street or peeking in our windows. I could understand if they where the police, or if we owed months worth of payments. But this kind of customer service is out of hand. For 8 dollars an hour they take their job to a whole another level, I have a family and explaining to my 6-year old why these people are harassing us isn't easy. So I figured out a way to not deal with them, so I paid it online. Even worse, it's been 2 weeks now and my bank gave me a statement that it went through. They have continued showing up saying I did not pay them. Now I lost 252 dollars, I don't think so. I want my money back, and they can have their cheap ripoff couch back. They pry on people who don't have money to buy new furniture and things and rip them off. To me that's pretty sad and a terrible way to run a business.

Laptop 2 brought it out, I put my name in it and password. Password didn't work. I hit a key that took me somewhere else in the computer that showed where the passwords would go but the hard drive disk was locked. I couldn't get back to the home page.
I called Dell, they tried to unlock it but couldn't. Told me to send it to them and they would upgrade it and I talked to somebody else and finally I told them I would have them come get it. But they wouldn't come get it when I told the lady that I wanted a refund. I had to come in and sign some papers before I could get a refund. It took me a week before I could get a ride. I told the lady I was disabled, have a dog and have to take my shopping cart with me. Everything I take with me is of some value and you can't leave in your apartment.
I've had a non-working laptop for almost 2 weeks. I got a ride, took the laptop back and all but told me that I broke the hard drive that controls the password after one use. The laptop had been used so if I wanted it I've got to get it fixed for $80.00 plus $105.00. I can't tell you what the computer looked like other than the e in explorer is blue. I never used the computer. I left it with them to fix and I'M going to call them and tell them I'M not paying for something that should have been under warranty and that expires Oct 28, 2014. This has to be the worst experience I have ever had with any company in my whole life. First of all the sofa they brought was filled with roaches, so I had to pay out the cash to have that treated! If you go to one of the locations, you start to notice the place is crawling with roaches. Then we were late on one payment about 1-2 weeks past due. At this point, we have paid about $800 to these criminals for a sofa that is nowhere near that amount of money. My husband called them and informed that we would be late and they said that was fine. He even gave them a partial payment to placate them even though it made it rough on us financially for the week. Then the next week, two men show up at my doorstep asking about the payment.
I said I was not sure about it and that I thought he had talked to them and offered payment. Then the one guy said no payment was made at which was total BS since I had the debit charge to prove it. They left, then they showed once again in the same week and I told them that we would make the payment the following Monday when we got paid. Then near the end of the week another guy showed up and forced me to wait on him to call the office for the amount we owned. While I was waiting for him to get a hold of them, he went on and on about how seriously we in arrears to them, which was news to me since I know we made the last installment payment a partial payment and had told them Monday we were going to pay the rest of the bill for that month. He finally gets off the phone and informs me that this "serious" amount we owed was $78. I couldn't believe it, all that harassment for $78! I understand we were late but come on now!
Then, I pretty much told him that he should stop coming around for only being one cycle late. He then got snotty and informed me that until we paid the bill he was going to send someone to our doorstep every day till they got it! Then, he went on to ask for a postdated check, since I again mentioned the fact that the following Monday we were paying the bill. He then replied he was going to come out with someone with a badge. I know that is crap. The police are not bill collectors and the only reason they would come is to hand you a subpoena to go to small claims and/or allow the property to be taken back. What a liar! Never ever buy from these liars and criminals. Just sit on the floor until you can pay cash for a decent sofa!

I went online to make my monthly payment for May 2014. I was called the next day saying that I didn't make the payment. I gave confirmation number, then I was told I was a dollar and a few cents short of making the total payment needed. I paid $82.00 because that is what showed up for payment online and that is what I told Keona. However, I had been paying $84.00 a month for my sectional.
Then a late fee of $20.00 was attached to my account for previous months that Keona said I was late paying my bill. Late to them is a day after the 4th of each month, then they want to attach a $5.00 fee each day for being late after the 4th day of the month. This is something new they started that wasn't mentioned when I opened the account and was given my contract papers.
At first I stated that I would pay the late fee, but remembered that I really didn't owe a late fee. Then the manager Keona start calling me every day for the remainder of this month three to at least seven times per day. Now, today is May 28th of 2014. At 8:10 pm someone rang my door bell. I looked out and it was Aaron's rental guy. He said he came to collect $32.00 in late fee for this month. (Don't forget I have paid this month rental fee but they have attached late fees that are dragging on for this month of May at $5.00 a day, that is what the manager Keona told me. Is this legal.)
I got very upset because I was in my gown getting ready for bed and I was under the impression that bill collectors could not come out to a home after 7:00. If I am wrong, please tell me. The aaron's guy called Keona and I talked to Keona on the Aaron's guy phone. I told Keona that I will call them on Friday of this week and make arrangements for them to come get the sectional this Saturday, that is how angry I became with the way they was treating me as a good paying customer. I am not behind, I have never gone over 30 days without making my payment and this is how I am treated. Good management would drop the late fee and wait for me to make my June payment. They are already charging too many excessive fees anyway that I really overlooked to get the sectional. Keona said to me that they don't want the sectional back. However, they won't get any more money from me.
I am totally disappointed in the way I have been treated. I have been harass everyday of this month with phone call during my work hours and up to 8 or 9 o'clock at night. They have left so many messages that I can't even count them. Some people get as far as 2 and 3 months behind in paying them. I have never been 30 days late paying them, never.

Last Monday April 7th, 2014 I called the Milwaukee Oregon Aarons store where I have been leasing a sectional couch since June of 2013. The reason I called was to schedule a pick up date for them to come and get the couch. I spoke to AJ, a salesperson in the store who asked why I wanted to return the couch and I responded that I simply hate it. The couch is just breaking down very fast and was cheaply made. For the amount I am spending on interest it's just not worth it. AJ responded with he was sorry to hear that and since I have been paying, I had invested over one thousand dollars that he would hate to see me lose. He suggested that I come into the store and find something else that I could apply the one thousand dollars toward so I don't lose out on my investment. I told him I may be interested in a dresser for my son and he said no problem that all I would have to do is make my current payment and I would be set.
Later that afternoon my 19 year old son and myself headed to the Aarons location. My son spotted a television he really liked that was a little over twelve hundred dollars. When I got up to the desk AJ greeted me and said that I could pick anything out that had a green tag. Of course when I told him about the television he went and got the tag then said, "first we need to get your payment," which I paid more than what was asked thinking I was going to get this television. Once he took my payment everything changed. He went and talked to the finance guy, then came out with all this mumbo jumbo about cutting 30 percent off my balance etc etc. Realizing that I was getting my chain yanked I asked how much to pay it off today, he then walked away to speak to the finance guy again and came back with some absurd number that was almost nine hundred dollars. Of course I was angry I told him to forget it and come get my couches.
I felt deceived by him and his shady salesmanship. I walked out of the store pretty much blowing my lid which I see was wrong but I felt taken advantage of. My son who is a cool collected kid went in to try to understand what happened and AJ totally lied to him and told him that he explained all this to me on the phone. The funny thing is one of my coworkers also leases from Aarons at the same location. She called to make her payment and asked if she returned her couch if she would be out her money. She was told she could apply whatever she paid to whatever else in the store she wanted so she didn't lose her investment.
Here is my problem I was lured to the store with the understanding my 1000 dollars would be applied to whatever I picked out, if this was true I should have been able to walk away with that television that day with paying approximately three hundred dollars. This is a form of false advertising and it's walking a fine line of bait and switch (the ploy of offering a person something desirable to gain favor then thwarting expectations with something less desirable). This is BAD BAD BAD customer service I work at an apartment complex and we will never allow Aarons to advertise through us or will refer anyone to them. Oh and my friends and family are also very excited I am no longer going to Aarons since if you are five minutes late on a payment they call you and everyone you put down as a referral multiple times a day and are very rude. Wow! I purchased a bedroom and living room set with your company a few months back. And boy has it been nothing but a nightmare! I was referred to you through a friend, whom I have shared this entire experience with. I work for a very large company, where I manage all client relations for 8 stores, and I can tell you, something like this would NEVER happen. I ordered a king size bedroom set, they delivered me a queen. I called and the girls answering the phone who are not only rude, unpresentable and careless said they would order me the correct size and it would be delivered Thursday. Thursday around 5pm I still had not heard from there for a delivery time so I called them. "Oh looks like nothing was ever ordered. Let me get with my manager and order it again. It will be in Thursday."
At this point I understand things happen so I said okay. Another week goes by still no contact from you guys so I call again. LUZ and Jeff? are the two who I dealt with almost every time. They had the audacity to again tell me, "Wow, looks like it was never ordered. Are you sure we placed the order?" ARE YOU KIDDING ME? So I asked to speak to a manager. Not once did anyone even apologize or extend concern whatsoever. The manager proceeds to tell me that the bedroom set is on backorder (which by the way I know is BS - he just needed an excuse) so I then said, "Okay, how does nobody there know what is going on?" I have now been almost a month without being able to sleep on my bed. So I said at this point I have now made 3 payments on something I do not have, and I have missed days of work waiting around for something to be delivered, that was just never even acknowledged.
Lastly, I asked if I could just keep the queen bedroom set and order a queen size mattress, the woman said yes absolutely and it would cost no additional since I had been paying for a king size bedroom set to begin with. So the queen bed was ordered and delivered a week later. No follow up from them, no nothing. Not surprised. THEN 2 weeks goes by and it is time for my payment, which they have no problem calling 15 times a day to remind you about. I was told by 2 managers I would receive a $40 credit for the weeks I did not have the bed and had been paying for it all along. SHOCKER - there were no records of this. The manager did honor the $40 credit because he seemed to remember the discussion. HOWEVER, my payment went up an additional $50.
When I spoke to the woman she clarified over a dozen times, as did I, that there would be no additional charges. I signed no additional paperwork or anything. This company is the biggest JOKE and mess of a company I have ever dealt with. How can your entire management team be so clueless and apparently your entire staff as well? As a corporate company you would think you would have your stuff together a heck of a lot better than this. Needless to say I paid what they said was due, but I refuse to pay it again. This needs to be cleared up. I will never refer this store to a single person I know and I will absolutely be in touch with the BBB as well as any review site I can log into if this is not resolved.

Me and my husband bought couches, a sofa and love seat from Aaron's. Within a week the fabric started separating from the seams. We took pictures and reported it. The employees along with the store manager would not return our phone calls so we went to regional manager and that even took a while so eventually we got different couches. And I would say within a month the couches were getting little pin holes in the fabric, so again we are trying to get a hold of everyone and the way they treat their customers is crazy. They have no respect let alone any people skills.
So they said the original couches were re-done so we went back to those. Let's just say it took a little longer to fall apart. So by this time I was beyond mad. The repairman called Aaron's in my face and told them the issue. 3 months pass and no one called, came out or nothing about my issue. I had to email corporate in order to get them to come out. When they finally came out, January 2014, they were upset that I hadn't made payments in 2 months. Seriously? You want me to pay for something that isn't up to par? The nerve. I told them to take the furniture and that'll be that. This company is not consumer friendly at all.

I recently rented a small apartment size dryer from AArons. Everything was good with the dryer. The problem was when I tried to return it. I started doing laundry at the local laundry-mat so I no longer needed the dryer. I had to call three different times in order to even talk to the store manager. He tried to talk me out of returning it and when I insisted, he tried selling me anything and everything in the store that he thought would be in my price range. Again I said "NO". Then he tells me he will not allow pick up until the end of the month. That's a week and a half since my first call to the store. That's a week and a half of cash I'm out! I live alone and on social security; every penny counts! They should be held accountable for their work ethics. They claim to help the consumer reestablish their credit and financial reputation. They don't tell about the bad reputation they have for ripping people off! Of course that is only my opinion.

They could not tell me who the 3rd party was in order for me to call them. What do I do with these appliances now as we have bout appliances outright so we did not have to make a monthly payment.

Well, I suppose my honest willingness to return the leased merchandise as well as offer what money I had toward my payment returned a good deed. I can also only assume that since I am a logical person that very well knows that if I haven't completed a lease by making all of my payments that any merchandise in question is NOT mine and no one should ever even act as if they think they have a right to keep something that can't be paid for.
I FINALLY got a ride to my local store and I had scraped up what I could as far as my lease for this month and took it to the store. I have used my two allotted payment holidays but I have never ever had to ask for a payment extension and the store's manager came out and worked with me on this payment. I've never been in such a situation where I really had to choose paying my over inflated utility bill or pay the lease on my furniture and the store's staff know I have only good intentions when it comes to paying my bill. So, I think we are even with each other now. I believe this generous gesture of understanding more than compensates for that big cab fare tab. Aaron's I must tip my hat to you for at least having decent people in my small hometown store. Yeah, they understand but only if they know you well enough to know when you are sincere because I was just at the point of liquidating some things in order to get this payment but Tim, Sam, and Rhonda all helped me out this long, tiring day. Thank you !

First of all, I went to Aaron's assuming they were better than the other small town competition; I had a very bad experience with the other store and wanted to be treated like a real customer. I was told that they (Aaron's) would never do anything like what the other place did but I found out differently. We leased a bed and a washer and dryer set and I've ran into a problem with my payment for this month (March 2014). I told the one in collections that I was going to try to get there with something on my account; she seemed to understand but before she hung up she asked for a post-dated check.
No, I don't think so that sounded all too familiar to me. I have the money to pay for the bed but not the washer and dryer but from what I understood they wanted the entire payment. My utility bill was $361.00. Between that and my lease I'm flat broke and the APPROPRIATE thing for me to do as always was to pay my lease and my utility bill BUT they don't care. They don't want to hear that. So, I'm willing to let the property that is rightfully theirs go back. They aren't harassing nearly as bad as they do my brother and when he tried to surrender their property to them they refused. So I'm waiting to see how they'll react to me when I get there. I'd prefer that they come and get what I can't pay for but only time will tell. Of course, this fiasco is easy considering the fact that they lied to me about the "new" laptop I bought from them.
I began having problems with the computer just before I made the final payment on it. They took it twice and told me they were sending it out to have it fixed. The last time they took it, it came back worse than it was before it left me. I called them a week ahead of time and told them that the same thing was wrong with it but this time I was only barely getting a faint line on the screen. I explained the issue and told them that I would be coming back in a cab because I don't drive. Well it sounded pretty good because they were very easy-going on the phone as if everything was alright. They told me to bring it back and they would take care of it.
The week passed and the day came for me to take the computer back. I called the store to tell them that I'd be bringing the computer back shortly and that if there was any paperwork that had to be done, go ahead and at least print the stuff off so all I had to do was sign it and get out of there. Once again they acted like they were really listening and they cared (ha, yeah right). I get there and there aren't any customers in the building, but I was made to wait and I know it was intentional because everyone ran when they saw me coming. Well, a customer came in and then everyone comes out of hiding and made it look like I was being taken care of.
The sales associate took his own sweet "slow flowing caramel time" about trying to check the computer out. When I saw my cab driver coming into the store, I reminded him that I was in a cab and that I was probably generating a large fare, he plainly told me, " Rome wasn't built in a day"; on top of that they gave me a crusty old computer that has a battery that won't hold a charge for even 30 minutes so it has to always be plugged in and when it gets warm the battery slips off all by itself. How arrogant and ornery of them all.
After I was told by my cab driver that I had already had 11 minutes wait time, I was hot and they knew it and STILL didn't care. I hated to even hear my final fare once I returned to my home; I, or shall I say Aaron's had generated me a $30 cab fare. I was asked about that incident whenever I got into a cab and it finally dissipated but not before most of the drivers talked about it and found out that it happened to me.
To date I have got no apologies or anything for all of the mess I've put up with from these people. I will admit that I've had to use the two payment holidays that I had available but I still feel like I'm right about my decision to pay my lease and utility bill. I've been VERY lenient with these rude folks. I refuse to even try to get a cab to that store, not after the incident that I endured... never again.

I faxed everything and the lady I was working with named Linda said she would get back to me as she said it all checked out and they would charge us 600.00 which was fine. Then lo and behold I get papers as I am being sued for 3200.00. WTF is this.
As much business as I had done with this company in the past I will no longer do business with them EVER. The store knew I had a crazy ex who is now serving time and made it a habit of stealing from me... Word of caution - make sure you have insurance if its owners or renters because yes they will lie to you and then sue you after you pay the 600 agreed on, and yes if I wasn't sued 4 yrs later I would have the receipt. I went to Aaron's in Chattanooga to look at furniture this past weekend and ended up choosing a living room set that they had available. I was told delivery would be before 3:00pm on the following Tuesday. I took the day off work and waited at home for delivery. However, they brought the wrong furniture and had to take it back. I went into the store to have the matter resolved.
They still had the furniture I'd originally wanted, still all wrapped up and they apologized and said it would be delivered to me two days later, on Thursday and that I'd be the first delivery of the day. Later that same day, a man named Rick called me from the store to find out what was going on. He did nothing to put my mind at ease, demonstrating to me that he has no clue what is going on within his store.
I didn't worry too much about it, though, since I'd been into the store earlier in the day and was assured at that time that the matter was resolved. He said he'd look into it, and call me back. He never did. On Thursday, I once again took the day off work and waited at home, but this time no one showed up. I called the store to find out what was going on and they told me that they'd sold my furniture to someone else and it had been delivered the previous evening. Naturally, I was livid. I spoke again to Rick, who refused to provide his last name, which I found to be extremely unprofessional.
He also stated that he had it all "taken care of", because he'd ordered an identical set for me and it would be delivered to the store tomorrow evening and he could arrange a delivery date with me after that. However, I didn't agree with his assessment that he had "taken care of" anything. I'd received the wrong furniture (and they tried to overcharge me for it). I'd received assurances that the correct furniture, at the correct price, would be delivered to me first thing on the Thursday morning.
I'd taken two days off work to be at home for my furniture being delivered and now my furniture had been sold to someone else. I would highly recommend to everyone that you buy your furniture and appliances elsewhere. Rarely, if ever, have I encountered such deceit and unprofessional from a business. They say in their advertisements that "nobody does it better". I agree. Nobody screws up better than Aaron's.

I have had a relationship with Aaron's for more than 13 yrs. I am extremely grateful that there is company that allows someone on a fixed income to own quality merchandise. Yes in the beginning there are customer service issues but in the end Aaron's has NEVER let me down! This past Christmas there was a new item on the market and Aaron's people moved Heaven and Earth to get it for me before Christmas eve! I have gone to Aaron's for 13 Christmas big ticket items and paid them off in a year or two. If you pay your bill on the DUE date they won't show up at your door at 8 pm and ask for their merchandise back! If you find yourself in a financial bind...just call, they will absolutely find a way to work with you. They have given you their merchandise and they can't secure payment, they have no choice except to pick up their merchandise. Whatever the reason you cannot go to one of the Major furniture stores, why not appreciate that Aaron's affords you the opportunity to own quality merchandise in 12 to 24 months without a credit check whenever you need to and as quiet as it's kept helps your credit, I do. Started out renting a sectional back in Sept. 2013, when they finally delivered it which was almost 2 weeks later, noticed a tear in the 3 tier shelf that set in middle and they said they would order a new one and over 2 weeks later finally, decided to get a bedroom set and tvs as well. Again way too long between ordering and delivery, but I understand over 2000 customers and it's hard to get everyone taken care of, but come on really, I have always ordered new items only and didn't give a inch on that so I thought fine small issues, but when they delivered the bedroom and tv sets were still boxed from shipping.
Ok since it was almost midnight and we were tired and tired of waiting on them we said we would open boxes and assemble them ourselves. Which was fine, when we opened bedroom set there were clearly scuffs and damaged legs, I took pictures with my phone so the date of when and were would be recorded. Called the next morning and was told by lady answering phone that a damaged discount would be put on the set. NOT, when we got the bedroom set was told we would get the mattress set at half off since we were getting the bedroom set. Well that is a lie, every time we paid on bedroom set, we also paid on mattress set but the half price was not credited yet, was told that the DM was the only one who could change mattress set in system but it would be resolved.
Well my wife said she wanted a print out of payments for mattress set and bedroom set and lo and behold we had overpaid on the mattress set a whole month more the bedroom set. Tried to contact them about our figures and each time was told Zack would have to get back with us. Well the only time we heard from him was when payment was due. Being the mattress set was so screwed up it looked like our account was always behind. Well by this time I wasn't to eager to pay on time for anything. We got tired of should a, could a, would a, every time we turned around. Finally told them to come and pick EVERYTHING up 2 weeks ago. Spoke to Zack and 3 different times about picking it up and on the 11th he said "let me see when we can pick up and I will call you back." Well 3 days later finally calls back and I told him after 7 pm on Monday (today) because I wouldn't be home from work till then and my wife had to work so after 7, well they showed up at 4:30 as my wife was fixing to leave for work and she said they would have to come back after 7 and shut the door. Well it is 8:33 pm and still no AARONS.
Customer Service is joke here and their DM was no better when he called my wife and went on about when and what time she told him the same thing I had told Zack today after 7, he proceeded to say picking up everything and she told him he wasn't listening to her, pick up after 7 today and she hung up on him. Well still no show but not surprised by the service. On another note I have rented from them before in a different town and did not have any of these issues and I paid for everything in full, but will no longer trade with them and will recommend to anyone who asks or mentions Aaron's.......... DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY.

My issues with Aaron's started before my stackable washer and dryer set was even delivered. I went into the store and asked what electrical plug their sets ran on. I have a 110 outlet in my wash room. They said they have some that run on both. I told them that I needed the 110. No problem they said. I also told them that as I was planning to buy them and I would like a new set. No problem. I made my first payment right there in the store and was told that they had to order the set and they should have it by Friday and could set up delivery for that Saturday. (This was Monday) Friday came and went.... no one called to set up delivery.
I called them the following Monday and the lady I talked to said that she doesn't even see where the set was ordered. She ordered it and said they should have it by the end of the week and that she would personally call me when it came in to set up delivery. The next Monday comes around (it has now been 2 weeks since I have made my first payment) and I still had heard nothing. I called and the same lady that I have been dealing with said that it still has not come in and she apologized. Thursday.... still no call, so I called them again.... The set came in on TUESDAY and no one called to let me know. We set up a delivery for the next Monday as they were too busy to do it that weekend. I said that is fine but that will then be 3 weeks since I had made my first payment and had nothing as of yet. She said that would make my 2nd payment a partial payment for the inconvenience. I was fine with that.
Monday, my set was delivered.... As they were about to put it in my washroom, I noticed that it had a 220 plug.... When I asked about that, the delivery guy told me that they don't make them on a 110 anymore and that the lady at the store probably didn't realize that. I said, "ok well just leave it and I will see about getting a 220 put in." I tried for that next month to get a 220 put in only to find out that my 220 box did not have enough room for another and I could not afford to have a new box put in. I called Aaron's and told them the situation and asked them to come and pick up the set. They lady I talked to that day said that they DO in fact have the stackable sets on a 110 and she could have it delivered the same day that they picked up the 220 set.... the cost was a little higher but I was fine with that.
Pick up and delivery went fine, however, the washer was new and the dryer was obviously used. I said nothing to them until I called to make my 3rd payment and had used the set a few times. The dryer takes hours to dry a small load.... I asked her if I could order a NEW dryer and was told that they are doing away with the 110s and cannot order them new but offered to send the dryer to their repair center.... no loaner and no discount on my payment while the dryer was not in my possession. I opted out of that deal and decided to just deal with it until I could save enough money to just buy a new stackable set at Lowe's.
Before my 4th payment was made, I went into the store to set up automatic payments. My 4th payment came out no problem..... so far I have not been even a day late on my 2, 3, or 4th payments. My husband got laid off from his job the day before my 3rd payment was due and still made my payments on time. He started a new job the week before my 5th payment was due.... he would not receive a check or unemployment benefits for 3 weeks. I called to see if I could change my payment for that month only from the 15th to the 23rd. This is when my real problems started.
I started dealing with Chris. He told me that he couldn't let the payment go that far.... one week past the due date..... And I said, "well you can try to take the payment out but I have 0 dollars in the account until the 23rd." He was rude and hateful to me about being late. Stated many times that I would incur a 10 dollar late fee.... I said several times that I understand and that was fine. He was still being hateful and rude and I asked him if he would still get paid if my payment was a week late.... He replied "well of course..." So I then asked why he was so upset that I was going to be late? He had no response and put into the system that they will not charge my acct until the 23rd. Okay.... I ONLY use my acct to pay bills automatically... I don't look at it until I put money into the acct to pay the bills coming out that week.
On Tuesday, the 27th, I came home to a notice on my door knob.... I called the next day and he said they came to repossess because I hadn't made my payment. I said that payment is supposed to come out automatically. He said that the week before, their audit team came in and took some of their saved cards out of their system and mine was one of them. That story made no sense but I left it alone and then asked, "isn't it usually customary to call your customers before you repossess?" He then tried to tell me that he called all 3 of my numbers and they all said disconnected. The primary number first on their list, had indeed been disconnected in an attempt for me to save a little money while my husband was out of work. The other 2 numbers were good numbers... I use them daily.
I said, "no... only the first number is disconnected.... I used the other cell this morning and am currently, and have been using the other number to call you guys." He argued with me on it till he was blue in the face. What most likely happened was that he called the first and assumed the other two were disconnected as well and was lying to cover up his mistake (this entire convo with him, he was very rude). I made my payment and told him that I wanted to set up a time for them to come pick up the set before my next payment, due Feb. 15th, as I am buying a new set because I can get top and bottom NEW or way less than I will end up paying them. He said "ok, how about this Friday?" I said "aren't I paid up until the 15th?" He said yes and I said "then let's set it up for the 14th." His response was that he cannot set it up that far out and to call a week before I want it picked up.
Okay.... so I did that 2 days ago and he started out hateful with me and decided to inform me that I had signed a 6 month contract with them and I had one month left on that contract. I had not remembered that being in the contract, but I read it and now kind of remember reading that when I signed. No problem. I said "oh, ok that is fine but then why didn't you mention that last week when you tried to set up pick up for a week and half before my next payment was due.." He said "I did." I informed he did not. It doesn't make sense that I would have a problem paying up until the 15th to not have it until the 15th but be totally okay with having to pay for an entire 6th month without having the set.... He said, "I don't know what to tell you. I just thought you were an idiot!" (GASP) I did NOT have an issue keeping the set and paying for the 6th month until he started talking me in that manner.
At this point, they can repossess that crap and eat the 6th payment because I AM NOT PAYING it after the way I have been treated by that company. He argued with me for 10 min about whether he did or did not mention the 6 month term. He was shouting, lying, being unprofessional, and being incredibly insulting. Today, is the 13th of Feb.... my payment is due Saturday and they have called both phones (that he said were disconnected mind you) multiple times since yesterday afternoon harassing me for a payment that is not even due yet. This man knows absolutely nothing about customer service and should NOT be put in the managerial position.

I mailed in a check instead which was cashed November 30th according to my online banking. Well second week in December I received another online bill statement which would be payment number 13. I just ignored it as it could be a computer glitch or something. They started banging on our door in the dark around December 23 or 24th. Several days they have stopped in the dark and left a hang tag on my door knob. None of the times explained why. It was just listed as "other". They seemed to be thinking I was gonna actually keep paying on it.
I asked a lawyer friend and they recommended me getting corporate involved. They suggested I mail in a copy of my contract and proof of each payment and to let them know if the harassment continued, legal action would pursue. I sent it Priority Mail with signature confirmation. They signed for it on Jan. 2, 2014. Later that same day they called my mother-in-law looking for me but they didn't stop by here that night as usual. I don't know how to get rid of them. You can't just keep paying them. It's like there's no end in sight. It's really black and white. Contract stated 12 payments, and 12 was made. So what is confusing about that??

BUYERS BEWARE! This company is at the bottom of the barrel. WORST COMPANY EVER! Just like most of the complaints here on this company I too fell a victim to these maggots! My nightmare began when I purchase a bedroom set from them. They delivered my bedroom suit, and the guys was putting it up, I notice that the foot board was damaged. I stated that this is not new furniture because you could clearly see it was damage. I was told to contact the store that day. I called while the guys was putting my bedroom suit up. I was told by a female rep that they will have me a new one that following week. Well the next week she told me that did not have another and she will order me one.
Well I'm here to tell you twelve months had passed into the contract and I never received another call. One day I was making a payment over the phone and I told the guy on the other end I still haven't received my new foot board and I stated that the bed rails was broke and I have ins so I want it fixed or replaced. He agreed while taking my payment he was going to send some out to fix it. Needless to say I took off work two days going back and forth with these idiots, and neither time no one showed. I knew I coming to the end of my contract, but I refuse to let them get away with my hard earn money!
I said I wasn't going to make a payment until they called me on the phone and I could speak with the manager. When I finally spoke with him after I told him I was contacting Corp he rush out here to look at it. He told me "oh that could be fixed with no problem". Here we go again. No one came by until I held the next payment and received a call wanting my money. Well he send two clowns to fix it alright. This is how they fixed it (With a glop of white clunky glue) no professional fix. I found this out when the bed broke in the same place and I had my son to lift my bed up to put books under it to keep it from sitting on the floor. I have three or four payments left and they will not receive another dime from me. I am looking forward to my day in court. They have called everyone on my list, and has constantly harass my job with phone calls for payment. I told everyone that I put down to tell them "she said see her in court." I wish they showed me the sense of urgency like they seem to have when it comes to collecting their money. I am done dealing with these people. Talk to my Lawyer!

Bought a 20 hp tractor from them new? Don't think so. Two weeks of use off to the shop, six weeks without one. I tell them I want a second on exactly the same size. In the meantime the 1st one gets returned to me in working order other than the fact that the wiring was all cut up by the prior RENTER? So they go ahead and drop off the second tractor which would not start right off the bat. The driver stated, "We just repossessed this and was told to drop it off here. Its battery needs to be charged." I explained this tractor is only a 16 hp and is much smaller than what I need for our farm. I was told to make it work and they left. Well we tried. Ends up it had a bad wiring harness so I went to the store and spoke with Brian the manager and explained what was wrong. He said it was under warranty and would have it fixed if I would give him a date I could pay it off. Mind you, this is in Sept.
I said I would pay it in full in November if it were fixed so the rest of Sept goes by as well as all of Oct. No one picks up the tractor. Nov 1st 25 phone calls wanting payment, 147 phone calls thru Nov, tractor still sitting waiting to be picked up. My wife calls and tells them to come get their piece of junk it does not work and we told them this in Sept. Brian's response was that she a liar no one ever said a thing so we call corporate. They give us a return issue #. Said they would get it in 25 hrs. 4 more days go by I call corporate, tell them I filing an abandoned vehicle report. That got their attention. The regional manager called and said 24 hrs they would get it the next day. He calls back and said he got a different story from the store manager, whatever. Anyways turns out the tractor is 2 yrs old and has no warranty but they picked it up anyways. What a hassle.
UPDATE: Just got another call from a regional accounts manager JOHN stating they now want my 20 hp tractor returned which was paid in FULL in Sept. Well I hope they have a GOOD attorney because I do. Buyer beware, false advertising is a crime as well as listing used items in a contract as new. Please make sure you get a receipt.

The pieces that they did deliver had pillows to it and when the drivers was setting it up they ripped it and they hurry and put the pillows on it. I notice when they left and I called them. Then they told me that it was on back order twice and I had to call corporate on them. Then and only then did they start moving to get me my items.

Just like many of the comments I have read Aaron's harasses and badgers me constantly if my payment isn't made by the 1st of every month. They call multiple times daily and show up at my home. They call every one on the list. My payment is always made every month. Today was the last straw for me. I'm 8 months pregnant with my 3rd child and supposed to have low stress. The door bell rang today and I could tell through the beveled glass the red shirt and Aaron's logo. I ignored the first ring. The doorbell went off 3 more times and the the guy went to his car, phoned the manager and the manager badgered me on the phone for ten minutes until I gave in, opened the door and give them my credit card info and payment day.
This is ridiculous! Why must I be bothered like this? I'm not a confrontational person and they make me one. I just want to make my payment online according to my biweekly payment schedule and be done with it. Why do they spend this much energy bothering their customers? Does that consume most of their work load for the month? I thought they were in the business of leasing, not debt collecting? I have 6 payments left. Please God let me get through it with calling my attorney for advice again!

Went in to rent a washer/dryer for a couple of months; just temporary. Paid for the first month and was told the combo would be delivered on Thursday and was called the next day and was unable to get in contact with anyone telling us why. Friday they called and said they were looking for a hose for the washing machine. Who rents something and don't have all of the product? Called Saturday and spoke with a lady and the district manager was suppose to call us back but instead went home. We went up there and the sales manager would not come out of his office to speak with us or anything. An employee went to the back and found the hose and delivered the product by himself.
We called a week before the new month came in to let them know we would no longer need the washer and dryer and was told it was a short work week and it would be next week before they can come and get it. We politely told them we would not be making another payment and supposedly they were working on sending someone out. The next week someone called looking for a payment and we politely let them know that it was suppose to be picked up. They made an appointment to come and pick it up on a Thursday but didn't come because of the weather... The weather wasn't bad and we were only less than 5 minutes away from them. The guy was suppose to call us back but never did. Didn't hear anything from them until the next week.
Once I called and my son called and told them to pick it up only then did they come and get it. Just got a bill in the mail for payment. NOT PAYING IT AND WILL GET A LAWYER. It sickens me to know that a business is being ran like this!!!

On August 19th, 2013 my husband and I leased a Dell laptop from the Aaron's in Greer, SC. On August 18th my husband and I stopped by the store to see what they had available. I explained to the store manager that we intended on completing our lease and taking ownership of the laptop after the 12 month period; so, I did not want a laptop that had been previously leased out. The manager assured me that I would receive a new laptop. When we returned on Aug 19th we paid the 1st payment of $116.58. When the store rep. brought out the laptop there was no box. I was told that the laptop had been opened that morning and she (store representative) claimed that the box had been disposed off that morning.
When I got home I began looking through the computer's properties and realized that the computer had been booted up for the 1st time on August 13th, 2013 and all of the software trials were close to expiring. We immediately returned the laptop to the store to complain. They gave us a free copy of antivirus software and assured us that the laptop had only been used for display purposes. We had our doubts especially since they lied to us in the first place, but I had to have a laptop for my online class and we did not want to lose our initial payment. We made an online payment in Sept. as scheduled. In Oct. an Aaron's employee showed up at our house 4 days before our payment was due demanding payment or the laptop. We explained to her that our due date was the 15th not the 11th and she left.
That same month (Oct) my husband was laid off; so, we made arrangements to pay $73 then and the rest on Nov. 15th. Between the time we paid the $73 and the agreed due date of Nov. 15th Aaron's employees showed up at our home on 3 different occasions. On one occasion I was showering and my 8 year old daughter was in her bedroom. She came running to me very scared saying someone was knocking on her window. When I looked outside I saw the Aaron's truck and an employee walking away from my house. The following day another Aaron's employee came to our home at 8:30pm on a school night. Angry because our 20 month old son and our daughter was sleeping and our dogs were going crazy my husband told him that we would be by with a payment or the laptop at the end of the week. My husband also explained about our daughter's window being knocked on and that I was extremely upset about it. He assured my husband that was not appropriate and that he would bring it up during the employee meeting the following morning.
After all of these issues my husband and I decided to terminate our lease. I began backing up all of our files. On Tuesday Dec. 10th another Aaron's employee came to our home once again well after dark. My husband told him that I was in the process of backing up our files and deleting our personal info off the machine. He told him that I would bring the laptop to the store the next day. The employee called the manager to ask for approval. The manager asked what time I'd be there and I told him I had class and it would be late afternoon, but before closing. We also gave them our new home phone number and the employee left.
The next day Aaron's called my husband's mother and uncle before 12 noon. The representative told each of them that they needed to get their laptop back from us. They had our new number, they knew where we lived and in addition we had made arrangements to return the laptop that day. They not only called our family members, but openly provided them the specifics of the debt telling them that we had their laptop, we were not making the payments and were refusing to return it. I will NEVER EVER do business with Aaron's or any other lease company again. Huge mistake!!!

I rented a washer machine from Aaron's in 2012. A few months into my agreement, I had a health condition and required to be admitted repeatedly to the hospital. Throughout it all, I maintained contact with Aaron's and let them know what was happening. When I moved, I gave them my forwarding information and explained I was moving months before I did so. Towards the last 5 payments, I was on bedrest and then hospitalized and had multiple surgeries. They repeatedly called my references even when they were told that I was hospitalized and could not speak to them. They called everyone I knew and told them I was charged with theft and even sent a letter to my home saying I had a warrant. I told them I was hospitalized and I was losing my baby and I would settle things once I returned home.
When I was released from the hospital, I paid my bill and they were very rude and disrespectful when I paid off my account. I told them I was hospitalized and could not do anything, I nearly died. A few months later, I received a letter from Aaron's saying I owed them money and I started to receive phone calls from them even though I had paid off the account and had my receipt. It took them months to stop calling me even though I called their offices and verified I had no debt, their corporate office kept harassing me and sending letter saying I still owed them. I would never do business with them again. I have previously had another account with them and paid off a 72 inch TV in less than the 30 days. They will get my business no more. The TV I discovered had issues with the volume and I was unable to have it fixed because I paid it off early.

I leased a washing machine the third week in September from Aaron's. First use of machine, the water temperature was not functioning right. Machine fills up with water but doesn't stop when it reaches level. Have to stop machine, let some water out, start machine and it begins to rock and shake. Called store, talked with Shae, Ashley, Malaika and the manager Mike. All about the washer. Was told by Ashley that I could get new one as this washer was new. I chose a new one which was the Samsung platinum machine. She said the machine would arrive in a few days brand new from the manufacturer's warehouse. It did arrive, not in a box but all wrapped up in plastic and scratched up and dirty from another store.
Called back and complained again. Was told I would receive another machine. This time, it would be delivered on Friday. Received a call from Ashley or Shae, don't recall which one, but was told that one of the trucks caught a flat so they could not deliver my washer until next Tuesday. I politely told them I would not wait that long and they could come get the one I had and return my cash back to me. Was told they could not do that. Made a complaint and received a call from the district manager. Told him what the situation was and what happened. He asked me if there was anything he could do to rectify the situation and offered me incentives.
I did not accept any offers and told him that I would be happy if he just returned my money. He informed me that I would have to come into the store and swipe my card to get my money back, even though I did the transaction over the phone. As of today, December 7, 2013, I received a letter from Aaron's saying I now owe them money, after me asking for a refund and not accepting their offer. How ironic is that?

My payment only decreased by $5, which doesn't sound right to me.
They harass me about making payments. They don't give you 3 days grace as stated, but will call you the day after your payment is due. They were charging me a $5 late fee per agreement, that is how I found out I had two agreements instead of one. I have explained to them my financial situation and that my son requires medication and we are waiting to hear back from Medicaid, but they still harass me. Renting from Aaron's is like selling your soul to the devil. Look at their satisfaction rating: 95% that wrote a review are dissatisfied, 85% of them are "angry". I would never rent anything from them again. They have called me at times 5 minutes after their store closed on the day my payment was due. I explained to them that their store closes before I get back into town from work so I mostly pay online. They call your references (a reference is just that, once they get the reference they should not be allowed to call that person again.
They harass your references and even if that person tells them to stop calling, they say they will not.) and show up at your door letting everyone know your business and even leave call tags on the door that hang there all day until you get home. They say you have a 3-day grace period but that does not stop them from calling starting the first day your payment was due. I have no respect for this company. I'm on my second account with Aaron's. To date I've paid $3,924 toward a TV & bedroom set. Due to illness, I'm out of work & waiting for my benefits to kick in. I'd been told that'd take 4 to 8 weeks. I'm now on week 12, just an aside. I'll never do business with Aaron's again. On my first contract the TV had a buzzing sound & while they exchanged it out, the new TV was lesser quality & lacked specific features not to mention they failed to deliver a remote. Guess I should have let that resonate within me prior to going into another contract with them. I've repeatedly explained to Aaron's my circumstance & reiterated my willingness to pay. I made my last payment October 12th & yesterday they show up to take back their merchandise which as I mentioned I've already invested $3,924 into. It's a set for one of my daughters who'd been injured in a severe car accident & needed a decent bed to sleep in due to ongoing back issues.
I understand Aaron's wanting their payment. I understand that they may get burned at times but to be perfectly honest, it appears that they are the one doing the burning. I've already exceeded the worth of these items with my payments. I have 6 left & even though I know I've been ripped off I have every intent to pay them off. I can't stand this company. No wonder the CEO had to step down due to anxiety & health issues.
In good conscience how could you form a company & train employees to prey on the community as they do. No doubt I understand the need to reign in the Want Monster. But c'mon do ethics play a part in business at all anymore. Is it ok to bilk someone of nearly $4,000 then come to grab those items up to resale when I've made it clear I'm waiting on a much overdue payment to come in that will enable me to pay them off? Any of our well established furniture stores would have sold me these items for about half as much. I need to learn to save my cash for 6 months or so to #1 enable myself to go to these local businesses #2 to avoid doing business with these ruthless people. Buyer beware. Please. This business is making money hand over fist in this economy (go read an article on Alpha business review). I read another article where the owner openly stated that an $1,100 bedroom set would end up costing the consumer $2,600 on their lease program.

I rented for over 1 year the first 3 washers (2 models) over several months, were brand new and defective equipment. The driver and myself have video of the washer banging and moving across the laundry room floor with the sides bulging out. Not one $1 had been taken off for inconvenience and I never asked. I agreed to a used washer as long as it was clean and in good condition, the same for the dryer. The dryer they first brought was banged up and filthy inside and out with used lint and a used dryer sheet. I told them to take it back. They brought me another dryer which they dumped off while I was working. Was in better condition outside but still had used lint and dryer sheet inside. Had not been cleaned and sanitized before they gave it to me. I would consider that a health issue.
The first time I used the washer on large cycle, it leaked from the top and continued to do so until they picked it up a couple of weeks ago. I mentioned it in several conversations to Adrian, AJ, German, Rose and Misty. I called them a month ago to come pick up the equipment. AJ laughed and stalled on picking it up. Sure they were collecting a lot of money for dirty defective equipment for 15 months at $978.60. When Shelly called about a past due balance that needed to be covered and I mentioned the issues I had over the course of the year, her comment to me was "pay the past due and we will fix the equipment".
I asked for a receipt when they picked up the equipment and they refused. I received a threatening letter dated after the payment was made and in a different amount. When I called a Wills says was an error and to disregard. I asked for something in writing stating they received the defective equipment back and the account is closed with a zero balance and he refused, told me to use my bank statement for proof of payment. How does that prove I do not owe Aarons any balance or that they ever received the equipment? I asked to speak with Wills's manager and that man stated he would have the store send me a receipt for the $86.66 final payment.
Again what will that prove as far as the account being settled? Customers should not be forced and threatened to keep or continue to pay for defective dirty unhealthy equipment. I think what this store did in taking money under false pretenses and laughing at me knowing they would never get anyone else to pay for dirty leaking equipment after trying to give me dented equipment "as new" that was defective and charging me is illegal. At the very least it is deceptive business practices and people do not like feeling they have been taken advantage of.

I rent from Aaron's Rental (Liberty Street) a laptop for college. I have every intention of paying for this merchandise as I should yet sometimes am a day, even a few days late. Juggling school, kids, home and all else as a single parent, I sometimes don't get to their store right away. I recently got a call at home while I was out and my 14 year old daughter answered and it was someone from Aaron's rentals. They asked for me and my daughter told them I was out. He went on to asking her who was she, and mentioned a few names I have no idea where he got and assumed she was me and I was lying to him. He went on telling her if I wasn't home, where exactly was I and when I would be back.
My daughter was scared and asked me why they asked so many questions in the manner that they did. I was upset and called for an explanation. Someone told me I would have to go in and discuss that matter. I did! I asked the girl that was assisting me, who called my house and spoke to my daughter in the manner that they did & that I would like to speak to them. I was interrupted by an older man standing next to the girl that was assisting me. He told me, “I call when you don't show up to make payments as you agreed to.” I told him I had no problem them calling my home if necessary; however, I thought that he should be a bit more professional and deliver his message with respect. I went on telling him that I always pay a late fee whenever I'm late and that I have no intention on running nor hiding from them in hopes to keep their merchandise.
He asked if I worked and I told him I was a student. He went on to tell me he was going to go to my school and in front of everyone he was going to yell at me and ask why I didn't make my payment. I found his behavior to be impulsive and disgusting being he is the store supervisor. As I was talking to the girl who was taking care of me, he demanded I stop talking to her. I refused and he literally grabbed her from her shoulders from behind and walked her to a small room behind the counter. It was mind blowing to see such a grown man, supervisor of this business, act the way that he did in front of other customers.
He mentioned I was trying to make the rules there when I clearly wasn't. I corrected him and said to him that in my house, I made the rules and that I would not allow him to call my home and speak to people as he wished. He added that he would call and say what he wished if I didn't make it on time to pay. Now they won’t get a response because I choose to ignore all calls from this point on. If I'm late, I will pay my late fee.
I do not plan on renting from Aaron's Rentals ever again for this SUPERVISOR'S actions and hope that he gets fired from his job for he has no idea how to speak to people in a professional manner. I can see Aaron's Rental's losing a lot of business if this problem continues. Friends have told me that he has been rude to them also in the past and some returned merchandise. Shame on him!!!! Where can I locate the Corporate contact information? I plan on reporting this guy.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. I am sorry to hear this in reference to your local Aaron's store. I would like to further look into this. Could you email me at response@aarons.com with your primary name on your lease agreement and the best contact number to reach you? I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Aaron's boys are rude, ignorant people. So I rented from Aaron's, bought a washer and dryer in 2011. Just finished paying that off in March of 2013. Even when I was a day late with payments, I would get harassing phone calls. And one guy would understand and say call back to pay it, the next person, a female, will start talking **. Anyway, after I paid off the washer and dryer, they kept begging me to get a TV and the first month is free, so I did. When it came time to pay, I paid three months then I had the money for the next months but ** happens so I paid something else. I told them I would drop the TV off and they said fine. But was so busy being in and out the hospital and didn't get the chance to bring it there. Told them will come the next day. But they came to the house. My child was home. They banged on the door as if they were the SWAT team.
Everyone who came to the door they said I'm a thief. They were screaming my name. My son's babysitter was there. She just walked down the street and then when she came back, they put their foot in the door and wouldn't move it. She had to push the door. She said they called the cops. The cops said they can't force her to give the TV and they are not bill collectors. She called them to explain. They said they are on their way to my job with the cops for grand larceny. She called me and told me. I said, "Just give them there **." They were running my business so obviously they spoke to my neighbor because these neighbors are nosy. They can be charged with defamation of character and can be sued for asking my business. They don't know if someone wants to kill me. Nothing. They were rude.
Now if the ** wasn't so rude banging down the door, screaming my name, hate adding whomever came to my door and saying I'm a thief, they would have gotten there * but because she acted like an ignorant ** with no class, they're not getting **. If you want your things, act civilized instead of like donkey. My cousin came to my house and she asked them what's the problem. The girl says she want her **. So my cousin acting like that, "Come on act different than that. Do you think you're going to get it acting like that? You're telling me business you think you know. I could be a killer. You don't know that." She still didn't care and still was a donkey to the babysitter. I would advise whomever never rent from AARON'S ever again.

I have rented a sofa and loveseat from this place for a year. I originally had a TV as well but my husband lost his job so I finished out my 6 month lease and gave it back in like new condition. My husband still has not found a job so I could no longer make the payment on the sofa set. I contacted Aaron's at the beginning of the month and let them know that I needed to give back the furniture. They said they would be out the next day from 11-3. They never showed up. Then that Friday I got a call from somewhere there that they were at my house trying to pick up the set. Hello this was not the day you were supposed to be here. "I am not home." I called that Monday and set up another day the following Monday for someone to come out.
To my surprise I was home ALL day and no one ever knocked on my door. I called the next day at this point completely frustrated and they said someone came and I didn't open the door. They stated they had no drivers that day and they would call me the next day (Wednesday) to schedule a pick up. No one called me until Saturday. I missed their call and called them on Monday. I spoke with their manager who tried to tell me at this point since it has been 30 days I need to make a payment. I said "NO you have not come here!" He stated they have GPS and their drivers are tracked at my house. I stated they may have parked in front of my complex but NO ONE has EVER knocked on my door. He then stated they would be there that night between 4-7 pm. I said "Perfect I will be home. My kids do not have football."
My husband sat at home from 4-7 by the window and no one ever showed up. At 6:53 pm I get a call from the store and the girl says "I'm calling because you broke a payment arrangement and I want to collect your payment." I said "I will not be making a payment. Someone should be at my house in the next 7 minutes to pick up this sofa set." There was a man in the background saying that someone came to my house and we refused to give them the sofa set. I became furious. The girl hung up on me. I called the store back and spoke to the manager who stated I am wasting his time, he has proof his drivers have been to my house.
Basically I tried to be a good person and give back something I could no longer afford. They are trying to intimidate me and make me pay on this set or they will file a suit against me. I just want to give it back! I don't want it! This is the WORST company to business with! I have no idea what to do next but I will find out and take the appropriate steps...

I have one payment left on my laptop, roughly 20-30 dollars left and I've called them to tell them I'd be up there multiple times as soon as I got paid. Instead of them making the appointment they claimed, they called every reference I had and my ex's phone and his mother's (which aren't even on my reference list) to contact me. They always call in the hours I've specified I work and then leave me voicemails threatening a warrant if I don't get in touch with them. They need better representatives or something because this is ridiculous. I'm not going to be harassed over 20 bucks.

OK, I have a couch set, a TV and a sound bar. The quality of the items are good if I got everything. The TV came with damaged legs. The TV is supposed to be 3D and didn't come with glasses and the sound bar didn't come with a remote so it can not be used without it. So I called Aaron's in my area and since they brought it, I get the same answer. They say they will check into the problem and get back to to me and it's been about 4 months and no one has gotten back to me.

I have two computers from Aaron's, a laptop and a desktop. I have not paid one payment because of financial troubles and they told me when I started my lease that if I had financial problems, that is fine, they understand. So they came to my house to talk to me and I paid 60 dollars to them. I was told that it was enough to hold us over until my next payday. Not even a week later, they were back at my door. My mother-in-law was here and I was at work. She did not know who they were at first and did not let them in. My electric was out for a few days due to financial problems so my landlord let me use an extension cord to run into the hallway to plug in my fans and stuff until it is back on. Aaron's knocked on the door and she did not answer since she had no idea who it was. Before they left, they took our extension cord and unplugged it from the wall, went to their vehicle and waited for about 30 minutes. I find this extremely rude and wrong. I have yet to contact them about it. I am going to let myself cool down first because I know I will be screaming and yelling at them for it.

I have checked their website and I am not the only one that has had this problem. I contacted the store I bought it from and was told they could send a repairman but it would be at my expense. I sent an email to the company, someone called and left a message but it was very low and could not understand it. I sent another email and was asked for all of my information but never heard back. I contacted the local store again and was told since the sofa was paid for there was nothing that could be done. I don't think you will be able to do anything about it. They did give me a loaner with a broken remote. Yesterday, I received a call telling me that my TV was back from the service center. I went to pick it up and I get a bill for $303.59 for repairs. I was told that it was not a manufacturer defect so I have to pay for the repairs because I broke it. First of all, I did not break it...Why would I break something that I am paying a lot of money for. This is a rip-off. I will return both of them before I pay all that money out of my pocket. I can buy a TV for $303.39.

Hi Mary - The co-ax cable is usually not covered with the vendor warranty, because this is something that may be caused from pulling on the cord or moving the tv around. I am writing this in hopes to sway anyone who is tempted in using a rent to own place to get something they can't have right now. My wife went into an Aaron's store in SD just to compare some prices on a laptop and electronics, they "suckered" her into a contract with several items explaining that they had the lowest prices and it would also help build her credit. The HP laptop they gave her had a cash price of $990, turns out you could have got the same thing at Wal-Mart or any other online store for less than $500. To make things worse, you couldn't return it for 6 months and the payments were $129 and at the end of the contract would cost you $1,540 which is 3 times the amount if you just went to Wal-Mart or Sam's and paid cash.
As soon as you miss 1 payment they start calling other contacts looking for you and gave out very personal information about her. They told a relative that they were going to report it as stolen property unless she contact them that day and made a payment, very unprofessional and illegal. How can it be stolen property when they agreed to give it to her and already paid double what it's worth? Breach of contract yes, but stolen come on. These people there seemed very un-knowledgeable about the products and unprofessional, they will call using different numbers and start to use harassment if necessary. They reminded me of sleazy collection agents who want to try to sell stuff. There are only 2 payments left on the contract yet the person on the phone claimed there was $1,000 left, she has already paid in over $1,100.
After we argued and said that we have all payment records he side stepped and said, "Woops someone must have made a mistake, you're right." A lot of people have complained about them picking things up, the only way to really get things returned there is to drop it off yourself because they don't want it back they want you to continue to over pay for it. The salesman also lied about threatening to report as stolen property even though we have it on voicemail, he also tried saying there was another guy there with the same name that was new and probably didn't know what he was doing esp after we mentioned a lawsuit.
They prey on people with bad credit or those who can't afford it knowing that either they will get much more than its worth, get the merchandise back and some of your money or take you to court. I know it gets tempting to want something immediately when you see it but PLEASE resist the temptation and steer clear of these guys. If you can't afford it right now then either try to save or better yet buy used at garage sales or Craigslist. If nothing else go to Wal-Mart, Target, Shopko etc and do layaway, you will save a lot of money and headache in the end.

It took three days after I got the set to do some research and discover I HAD BED BUGS! I immediately called an exterminator and his findings were in the bedroom set that I had rented. There were bed bug eggs in the set!!
I contacted the manager and regional manager and requested they immediately remove the set from my house which they did. My daughter and I were bitten for weeks because they refused to pay for extermination unless I signed a release form relieving them of 'any and all liability'. I refused to sign. I rented $250.00 worth of merchandise for a full year (paid on time every month). I did this as I knew I was moving in a year and just wanted to rent the furniture. I called enough times to make sure and feel confident they had the date for pickup. I called to make sure and it was in the notes. They never showed up, so now I have an extra day to have to pay for the lease. I called on Saturday to let them know today that they need to pick up. 7 calls later, I was told they will call me back and then they closed the store. They are closed on Sundays and now it is Monday. I am being told I never called. I know who I spoke to, but that person is saying I never spoke to him.
Very upset. This ended up costing me money because I had to pay for another day in my lease at a full price of $100.00. This is the Aaron's in Kissimmee on JYP. So be aware of them! Awful service!!! I am totally upset.

We have rented from Aaron's in Ottumwa, Iowa for over five years. In that time we have paid off several accounts and acquired quality furniture. We understand the program and how it works. When we lost our jobs last fall, we asked Dave, the store manager, to pick up our items because we could not pay. Dave refused and said he could rewrite contracts along with other sorted shady deeds so we could keep our items. Every week, we would tell him to pick up our rentals and every week he would say no. Then in June 2013, he said that they needed their books to be good due to an audit on their store. He had us postdate two checks (which we discovered from our bank is illegal), all so he could make his books look better because of the general manager's visit. Also, Dave doesn't return a phone call especially if he knows the person is upset. We have never been hard to reach. Yet multiple phone calls would be made to our reference numbers even after we had talked to someone in the store. Also no one records if you call or the agreements you make so you can get up to three or four calls in the same day from different people. Avoid this store and save yourself the hassle. Not to mention the hassle of anyone you use as reference.

I've just had the worst experience ever at the Eufaula, AL Aaron’s Store. **, a rude and incompetent employee in that store, is very unprofessional and made me feel more like a criminal rather than a valued customer! Her customer service skills are non-existent, and she lacks the ability to calm down angry customers; my issue was not resolved at all, instead it was escalated. Had I been a secret shopper, she would have failed miserably!
There are serious communication issues in this store. You can't take one employee’s word for something because the other employees won't know anything about it! For instance, the "Principle" there (**) told me that I could pay this month on the 15th, but no one else got that memo. Because of that, all month long, my friends and I have received daily calls regarding a supposed late payment, even though ** told me that it was OK to pay on the 15th. When I confronted him today about it, he said that he did not say that (even though there were two witnesses there at the time that can easily prove this wrong). So as you can see, Aaron’s employees are liars and they do not communicate with other employees.
**, my husband, and I had a big conversation last month about the issue of the payment due date, but there was no record of it on my file. So this month, I was harassed for a week by their employee **. I called her on the phone, spoke to her, and explained my side of the story; yet, she still continued to call me every day after that! I don't know why since I had already talked to her; there was nothing else left to say! Also during that phone call, she told me that she didn't have my phone number, which is why she had kept calling my references instead of me. Then the day after that call, I started to receive daily calls from her. Not only that, but I was receiving calls on TWO different numbers from her! I thought she didn't have my phone number though? Again, another lie.
So today, I went in to return the computer that I've had for only two months; I used a coupon to get one month free. The computer is just not worth the stress, harassment and aggravation caused by the Aaron’s staff. Granted, yes I was a little harsh to ** in person - I admit that, but I was also very upset and fed up with her antics! Surprisingly, she was rude right back to me and especially to my husband! Instead of being professional and trying to make the situation better, she made it 10 times worse.
To make matters worse, she told me that I hadn't made a payment at all on the computer since I had it, even though I had paid last month along with a late fee! ** was right there to verify that I did indeed make a payment. So again, here goes the miscommunication. Besides, I really don't believe that Aaron’s would let someone keep a computer 2 months for free. Obviously I did make a payment; else they would have come to recoup it weeks ago.
In all honesty, the Eufaula store is just a HOT MESS. If the communication issues and unprofessional manners in that store are not fixed ASAP, you're going to lose a lot more customers. This type of treatment and service is just unacceptable and uncalled for. I am going to tell everyone I know to NOT do business with Aaron’s. Additionally, I will NEVER do business with any Aaron’s Store ever again!

I told them I would be in to make a payment in 30 minutes; evidently, it didn't matter because then they called my aunt. I went into the store and paid the late bill and prepaid for next month.
I asked to speak to their manager because I felt that my privacy was violated and wanted to complain. I didn't want to sue or anything; I just wanted an apology especially since I’m pretty sure that calling my family is a federal offense (it’s against the law). Well their manager tried to bring out the whole contract and cited a part that supposedly says I consented to that practice. But as soon as I asked to look at the contract, he refused and withdrew then accused me of being immature. It has been way over a month and still they have not shown up. I called again on May 14, 2013 to have them come pick up their items. They informed me that I cannot return the items because I have to keep them for 6 months. I was never once informed about this. I complained it has been day after day after day I have been waiting for them to come pick up their stuff. They said I should have read the contract. I never read contracts because I get SSI. I always have things explained to me. Not once did they tell me anything about contracts.
Now they tell me they will take me to court. How and why? I am on a fixed income. What do they expect by taking me to court? Being on a fixed income and SSI, you would think they will get nowhere and get no money from me. They can't get money from a person who does not have it, can they? All I want is for them to just come get their items because I can no longer pay for them. I decided 2 days later after having the items that I was unsure if I could afford them or not. I never read the contract because there was a person I knew for like 10-15 years who worked at rent a center. He has always been good to me. I then found out he worked at Aaron's and I never read the contract because I trusted him. Guess that was a mistake, but anyhow I never read anything because things are always explained to me because being on SSI I rarely understand a lot of things.

In February, we let them know our lease was up at our apartment complex and we would be moving about an hour away. We wanted to trade in our two couches for one large one so we went in and talked to the manager. He re-did all the paperwork and said they would not deliver to our new area but we could move the furniture ourselves which we did. Now, they are claiming the furniture as stolen and filing a complaint with Teller County to have criminal charges brought against us because they can't fund the signed authorization form they gave us for moving the furniture from one place to another. I have called several times asking them to pick up the furniture and they have not picked it up.

All of this started when my washer and dryer broke down. We tried Craigslist. One of my roommates, I had two, said we can go to Aaron's. They had me put it in my name because I was the only one with credit. Shortly after getting these items (a washer, dryer and a computer), my female roommate lost her job. 3 weeks after her leaving her job, he did too. I could no longer afford the washer, dryer and the computer so I called their parents to come pick up their things. Instead of picking up the things, they said "we can't" without me there. Me being the only one that has a job, I couldn't risk waiting on Aaron's to pick it up. I attempted to have it picked up 3 times, after I was kicked out fighting over the money that I didn't have to pay rent for two people that could not get another job.
They changed the locks. I couldn't get into the house. I was no longer on the lease. Aaron's met the same response. I know they were home and not answering the door. I had no idea what to do and who to call. I told Arron's, crying, that this was happening. I gave Aaron's the address of where my roommates were. I don't know what they did with it. Facebook with my roommates' delusional mother, she said, "My kids can do no wrong." Then Aaron's told me that her mother (my roommate's mother) told them that it was her daughter's things. Yet again, Aaron's could not get their stuff and had no idea where their stuff is - as well as me, I have no idea.
Frustrated that they couldn't find their merchandise (I was not going to pay for stolen merchandise), they started treating me as if I stole from them. They started threatening me and telling me, "I'm going to take you to court." The last thing I heard was that Aaron's came by and picked up everything. Aaron's didn't call me again so I figured it was found by the information I gave them. Now months later, Aaron's is taking me to court.

This letter is in reference to my account with Aarons on Bermuda Crossing Lane in Chester, Virginia. I have been a dedicated customer for nine months. I am ready to return the merchandise I rented from your store. I rented a bed, a bed frame, and an area rug. I called the store on April 8, 2013 for pick up and talked with a representative named **. I shared with him that I wanted him to pick up the bed and the remainder of the merchandise. I informed him that one of the boards on the bed is broken and he said, "I will fix it if you pay $32.92."
I informed him that I did not have any money for a payment this month. I asked him a second time to please pick up the merchandise. He said no and I said, "I will discard the bed," and handed the phone to my counselor. When my counselor talked with **, he stated a payment was needed prior to pick up to keep the merchandise under warranty. I talked it over with my friend and he immediately made the payment over the phone for $32.92. ** made arrangements to pick up the bed on April 11, 2013 between 3 pm and 7 pm.
I stayed in my apartment the entire time waiting for a representative to pick up the merchandise. I called the store at 6:30 pm and ** said that someone came and left a door tag or maybe they went to the wrong apartment. Then he said, "We will pick up the merchandise on Monday, the 15th of April." At this point, I was extremely frustrated with the process and asked my friend to talk with him. Arrangements were made for April 12, 2013. A representative came on Friday and said that we have bedbugs. I stated, "We do not have any bedbugs. I want this furniture out."
Another representative returned on the 15th of April and did not see any bedbugs but gave us another excuse not to take the merchandise. This time, they said that the frame was twisted and asked us to shampoo the rug. Although ** told us they have a place where they clean the merchandise, he continued to give other excuses why he could not take the merchandise. Not to mention he tried to make a deal with me to lower my payment to get me to the end of my contract which is 15 months.
I have stressed the importance of getting the merchandise out of my home due to financial problems, and I no longer need the merchandise. I have a bed that is paid for and the bed that belongs to your store is taking up space in my one bedroom apartment. Today, I went to the store to stress the importance of picking up the merchandise and to let the manager know about the unprofessional treatment I received in my home on Monday and to close my account with Aaron's. When the representatives were in my home, they were laughing and making light of the situation. They said the manager was on vacation and he cut off his phone so they could not reach their manager. This was explained to **.
I asked for a copy of the contract. He refused to give me a copy. My counselor shared with ** that we really needed a copy of the contract and informed him that the contract did not have a date on it. ** stated, "This contract will stand in court." I never mentioned court. However, I informed him that 12 On Your Side will notified. He handed me a piece of paper with the customer complaint hotline phone number.

Entering an Aaron's Furniture Sales & Leasing store to complain to the idiots they call managers will do no good. Calling the corporate office is just the same. I found the solution and it works. Your first contact in resolving your issues with Aaron's or any other rental company. File your complaint with the Department of Consumer Affairs and the Attorney General’s Office. They will send you a consent form to represent you, and upon return will contact the party you file a complaint against. A resolution will be required within days of you filing. These rental companies don't want to have to answer to Higher Powers at be, further exposing them to the general public or adding to media opinion. They actually cancelled my contract with no further financial obligation after I followed the above. I just received my resolution letter from the Department of Consumer Affairs, and I had received one from Aaron's three weeks prior to Consumer Affairs sending the official letter. Better to wait three to four weeks than to allow yourself to be dragged through the mud by the unprofessional employees they have running their business.

I received a note on my door on 4/8 advising me to call ASAP because I am a week late with my payment. So I figured I would call in the morning and make my payment. At 7:30PM, my daughter called me terrified because two men from Aaron's were banging on the door and window, and screaming into the window, "I know you're in there." My daughter was home alone and she is not allowed to open the door to anyone. My daughter said the banging on the door and window got louder. She heard them say, "We will be back." She said one of the men sat on the porch and said he wasn't leaving. My daughter also said that she heard one of the men say, "Next time, park the truck elsewhere and come back because we aren't leaving without that TV."
After she called me, I immediately tried to reach the store manager but there was no answer and no answering machine. I made my payment online while on my lunch break from my second job. Once I have completely paid this TV off, I will never ever use this company again. I will warn my friends and family to never use them either. Even when they call you at work and call your friends looking for you, they are very rude and not professional by any means. I spoke to the manager once before about his employees' behavior. He apologized on their behalf, but I don't feel as if he meant it.

I rented a washer from Aaron's in Fairfield. A week before the warranty was due to expire, it started having the same trouble it had a week after I first got it, which was the agitator was broken (again) and the machine was rocking all over the place. They put my call off for several days. I called back several times and was then told that my warranty was expired and they couldn't service it. I reminded them I called before the warranty expired. They said that because the initial call was made before the warranty expired and was a continuing problem from when I first got it, they would send out a repairman. Yeah, I was fooled. They never sent anyone. I had to keep calling to get a response. They kept telling me they'd get someone out there. Nope, never did.
I then kept calling to ask to speak to the manager. Yap, another joke. He never called back ever. So several months later, they offered to take care of it by having a truck come take the washer, ship it back to wherever these things supposedly get sent to, have it repaired and then shipped back. OK, I'm not the brightest bulb in the pack, but any idiot could figure out I would never ever see that washer again. Suffice to say, I learned my lesson. I used them a couple of time since, but never for the long-term contract. Just get it, use it for the minimum time while saving for my purchase, then return it. One thing I did learn was that it upsets them greatly if you return the item after the initial time expires. They lose commission. Gee, that's a bummer.

They are threatening to take me to court for a $70 payment that is 1 and a half weeks past due at this point because they chose to be disrespectful and refuse to take the payment or speak to me by phone. I told them several times that the payment is here waiting to be paid, just as soon as I receive my apology. Yet, they continue to call 4-5 times daily telling me to pay. I guess customer service is not the priority, but I have principles and will not tolerate being spoken to like that. They accuse me of holding the payment "ransom" when in actuality all I am doing is seeking some well deserved respect. I do not miss payments, nor do they have to track me down. My washer stopped working so I called Aaron's because I still have a warranty. They sent a guy out to fix it. He came in my house, plugged it up and said the computer part was down and had to replace it. He said it will be about four days. So I called Aaron's the next day for a backup until mine get fixed. They told me the warranty wasn't going to cover it because the man said I had roaches and that's what messed my machine up. I assured him that wasn't the problem, but he didn't want to hear what I had to say. I feel just because of the neighborhood and my ethnic background, I was getting discriminated against.
The next day, I called another tech to look at my washer. He was nice, friendly and took the time to take the water that didn't drain out and properly diagnosed it. The outcome was a sock stock in the drain pipe. It took him about fifteen minutes to fix the problem. The same day, I took my paperwork to Aaron's and let them know what happened. He said he would call me back which I never got. The next day, I called him and he said he couldn't give me a refund or credit. I asked for his boss' number which he said would call me but three days later, still no call. I've called corporate, still no answer. I've been with them for about five years and have sent them plenty people. I will never deal with them again and their customer service sucks! Just wanted to warn you before you become a victim.

He told me that this machine was brand new and then showed me where it said brand new on the contract, along with a $899 price tag if paid off in 120 days, but after that, it would be around $1200 with interest included. This laptop retail sells for around $400 from HP. The next day, around 10 am, I went to pick up my laptop. When I got there, another salesman tried to get me to buy a $1300 bedroom set that I didn't want or was worth that price.
Finally, I made it to the counter to sign and take possession and this dude lifts up a laptop case that looks as if he carries it around with him everywhere in life. I took the laptop bag and looked closely at it. Right away, I saw that it was used. I took the laptop out of the bag and it had fingerprints and scratches on the outer casing and inside, when you open the top, it had a lot of noticeable scratches, stickers coming off the palm rest by the track pad, greasy keys and scratches on the bottom of the unit. I told them that you told me this was new and this dude tells me, "It is new; it was just on the floor for a long time."
I handed his merchandise backed and walked out of door. I have never felt so disrespected and played by a company like Aaron's. This was my first and last time dealing with these people. Jesus!

When I first got my washer and dryer about 4-6 months after I started renting it, I started to hear a really loud banging coming from my basement. I come to find out Aaron's didn't level it correctly. It took them 4-5 times to come out to level it correctly, until they finally got it right. Then after that, the rubber gasket was bad. It took 3-4 tries to fix that; however, the washer was still leaking. It created a lot of damage to my kitchen floor. So then finally, the washer stopped working. During all this, I still had a warranty. However, Aaron's was sending out A&E to fix the washer, but they couldn't figure out what was wrong with it. They were coming out for over a month. So then the warranty ended, but the washer still wasn't fixed. So finally, a month later, Aaron's brought me out a loaner. Just a basic white washer that might cost $200. The set I had cost me over $3,000.
Meanwhile, Aaron's said they would track me down one that is just like the original. However, it's been over 3 months and still no washer. I currently owe less than $700 on my other account. They said they would also have the insurance company fix my floor. Still haven't done that either. Now they are threatening me with coming to get the loaner if it takes too long for them to track me down one like the original. They said the longer I keep the loaner, the more money they are out of. Really, it's not like they haven't set me over $3,000 back. I feel the $700 I owe to them is the only thing keeping them in contact with me. I feel they might just ignore me once my account is paid off.
For heaven's sake, they were calling me every day for the past 2 months asking me when I'll be in to make a payment. Every time I asked to speak to the manager Ken, he never calls me back until well over a month. I even went down to the office and I was there for 45 minutes trying to speak to Ken. He acted like he was on the phone; however, without his mouth moving. He has obviously been avoiding me. But then he has his employee calling me everyday to collect a payment. What should I do? It's not like I broke the washer. Because of their negligence, my washer is broken. Really not comfortable with paying them until either my floor gets fixed or I get my replacement. They are even threatening me with the credit bureau.

But it was only $5, so I decided I'd still go for it. And even though the recliner was delivered halfway through the month, they still charged me a full month's rent. Now I had spoken with the dealer, explaining that my pension comes in on the 3rd of every month. She said that she would notate the account and that it would never be a problem.
Not wanting anything for free, but rather to declare my personal credibility, I served my country for 9 years before accidentally ingesting a parasite that left me with a severe disability. While I was not disabled, I was decorated by The Congress of The United States of America, for my service. On August of 2011, my husband and I were forced to purchase a bed, as ours was damaged in a move. We had to go through Aarons in Burlington, VT. Worst mistake ever. I was doing monthly payments on the first but if the first fell on a Sunday, they'd start harassing us on Saturday, demanding payment. We initially had a TV in our payments, so it was just under $150 a month for 24 months. Now, the bed we got was supposed to be $112 for 12 months (on the tag in the store), so when we returned the TV, we assumed that our bed payments would drop because we were told that they couldn't change the lease to 12 months, no reasoning given. However, our payments on the bed were the same as the 12 month payments!
I have argued with them and have sent in $100 a month, emailing corporate several times in regards to the employee's abusive attitude and demanding that they contact me via US Mail only. No one has ever responded and they continued to call. I sent yet another email today quoting the fair collections act and informing them that if they continue to harass me at work, at home, etc, I will contact the attorney general. Not to mention the bed stunk of cat piss when they delivered it, so we had to clean it ourselves. It was also incorrectly put together, to the point where the bed almost collapsed when we sat on it.
Legally, they cannot charge you with theft, as they are technically a creditor and they need to abide by the law. The most they can do is bring you to civil court. I said, "Let them." I'll continue to pay a $100 a month and fight because they prey on the desperate. Next time, I'll just use a credit card.

The corporate office told to me over the phone that I will pay until they see fit. This is wrong. I am writing on behalf of a harassment issue regarding Aaron's sales and lease store. I have been dealing with them calling my mother on behalf of a debt I owe towards them. I understand that I signed a contract and that I am responsible for the items that I signed for. When I leased from them a laptop, the laptop had gotten stolen. I filed a police report and had Aaron's take the account number towards a collections company. I have gotten a new job since from being jobless from a month that I had rented it then, but they won't accept any payments from me at all now. They are not negotiating. Instead, they want to file theft charges on me and have been calling my cell phone non-stop. They even call pass the hours that is in regards to the Federal Legal Debtors Act Form.
I reminded them of this and they don't seem to stop. I recently just had changed my cell phone seeing if it would stop the calls and try to keep on sending in payments, but now they are calling my mom and harassing her on her cell phone. I told her to block the number but she wants to save it in files for when I file harassment charges. They will not leave her alone, yelling on the voice mail, calling me a thief and everything else. I just want this issue resolved. I offered to make payments and finish paying it off since I have a job now but they said it's too late. How can that be fair? I couldn't help that I had lost my job.
Really, this company should treat their customers with more respect and be reasonable. I told them once I had gotten a new job, I'd finish the payments of it. But they have not accepted and this has made me very angry. I also am filing stress reports towards them. Because of it, I have developed gall stones and I have to have surgery soon. I cannot be put in jail over something as small as something that can be resolved with money.
Please, I need help to see if I can negotiate with them for making payments instead of them filing charges on my account. I cannot have my life changed around that drastically. I am not a thief. I'm a Christian and don't steal. I think it's wrong considering that this company calls people thieves just because they couldn't afford it. I would have given the item back if I had it, but I don't. I almost want this place to go out of business.

The plastic cover remained on the bed until November 10, 2012. On November 12, 2012, my wife noticed a bug on my pillow but never saw it again. On November 16, 2012 my wife began noticing bug bites over her entire body so she went to the doctor to find out what they were. On November 19, 2012, while making the bed, I noticed one of these bugs on the bedding and killed it. Turning the mattress on its side, I noticed more of these bugs crawling from on the inside of the bed. When returning from the doctor's office, there more of these bugs crawling from the mattress on the walls. I captured several of them in a jar calling the store to report the problem. Speaking to Manager ** and asking what he was going to do, he immediately said that he was not going to do anything.
As I brought the property manager where I live, she called the store speaking to **, informing him that if this infestation spread to other units, Aaron's would be responsible financially. At 7:15 PM, ** and another associate arrived at my apartment with 2 large plastic bags to cover the mattress and asking why did we take the plastic off the mattress in the first place. After covering the mattress, he and his associate looked throughout my apartment finding no other signs of these bugs. When showing him the live one I captured and one still crawling out of the mattress, ** was observed by my wife attempting to punch a hole in the box spring. When asked why he was doing this, he replied that they had to inspect everything. As my wife told him that he would be responsible for replacing it, ** then proceeded to my living room where they inspected the furniture, finding no evidence of bed bugs.
On November 20, 2012, expecting a call from ** who stated that he was going to call corporate for instructions. I made several calls asking to speak with him each time but he was not in the office. After the 4th attempt, I then had the property manager to call when ** informed her that he was going to do nothing about it, asking her why was she taking it too personally. I never heard from him calling the corporate office and explaining the situation to the representative who stated why didn't they just replace the mattress and was really apologetic about the situation. She also stated that she had just reviewed a notice that came across her desk about bed bugs. Unfortunately everyone had gone home for the holiday. On November 26, 2012, I called the corporate office again and explained the situation then hearing from **'s supervisor asking if I would allow Orkin Pest control to inspect. I agreed. Southwood Pest Control (Independent) and Orkin both after pulling up carpet and searching my entire apartment, found the source to be the mattress only.
Orkin stated that should anything read differently from the report we've verbally heard from them report to us, should be questioned. On December 7, 2012, ** stated that Orkin reported they identified the source of the bed bugs to be the mattress and they're doing nothing about it, and informed management that they're not picking it up, and that I could burn or throw it away. I am still waiting to hear from Aaron's corporate office.

In November of last year, I went to Aarons rental here in Alamosa, Colorado, and picked out a refrigerator because I desperately needed one. Within a few weeks, I went back in to pay the total amount due. The manager of the store asked me not to make the last payment so they could count me as a customer; they had to prove to upper management that they had enough customers so they could get a second truck to make deliveries. I foolishly agreed; it was only going to be $89.00, and being the person I am, I try to help everyone when they need help. She said she only needed me to hold off on the last payment for only a while.
I asked her to call me to let me know when to go in and make the last payment. Well, in September, I received that phone call. I was talking to a young man, and he asked me if I had trouble making my payments. I told him no, I could come in two weeks to make that payment. He became very rude with me telling me I needed to go in immediately to make the payment; otherwise, they would come and take the fridge away. I was very confused by his remark, and I told him that I was in no position to pay until two more weeks and then I would have to see if I could afford to make the full payment. He became very irate, and I eventually hung up on him.
The next day I went in to talk to them when the manager informed me that I owed a very large amount. I argued with her and reminded her of what she had asked me to do. She did remember, and she said she would take off all the late charges and interest that accumulated over the months. She then informed me that I still owed over $800.00, but that the good news was I was still paying less than what the original financed cost would be. Well, to make a long story short, I have been trying to make payments to them, but I am still getting harassing phone calls from them with threats to take my fridge away even though I have been making payments. I finally had enough today and told them to come pick up the fridge. Today, the day before Thanksgiving, they will pick up the fridge. I am trying to get the word out on this to have others be aware of how Aarons has bamboozled me. I only owed $89.00 but have already paid an additional $200.00 but they screwed me over.

Be very careful before buying anything from this company. Of course, when you need something, it is tempting. But the charges added end up making you pay twice than what you would pay normally. I bought a TV with the 120 days same as cash. I paid my monthly payments as agreed. At the end of the 120 days, I tried to pay the balance and there were several charges added. The sales person tried to talk in circles and call me honey which was very annoying. I paid the TV off just to take care of this but paid more than the 120 days same as cash which totaled an extra $200 which still made no sense. Rip off!

I had a problem with Aaron's about a month ago which resulted in them giving half of the account to us paid for by them. Well guess what? A 2nd issue has arisen. We decided to still pay for the washer/dryer and the computer. My husband started a new job so for the very first time ever, we have to make a payment arrangement. You would think by asking them to do this, it started WW3. Never being late before, always being on time, but now it's a problem. I spoke with Michael, who works in the store for accounts. He told me that only two months have been paid on this account (when we had rented a computer from there 6 months prior, paid on time and in full). He said that the other accounts were paid out and he would be extending an olive branch to help with this payment. Really? I thought an olive branch was for peace. Are we at war?
He extended the payment, but made it a point to say that the accounts were paid out by Aaron's. Why does it matter? If they had acted like civilized people, that would have never happened. But it's my fault for their actions. Now in between all of this, I have filed several complaints with their complaint department that is a joke! They directed me to VP services. I spoke with Kara, who directed me to Ronnie **. This guy is a joke as well. Won't pass on messages, hangs up on you and then calls the secretary for the CEO office and tells them I'm cussing at him and whatnot! Throughout this whole process, I have been nice. The only person I swore at was David **. You do get kind of pissed off when someone ignores you, allows you to be treated like garbage and treats you like a name and a number.
I spoke with Ronnie ** today, who said he was moving my complaints to someone else and he never did. He just said, "Okay, bye bye," like a coward. Also, I have spoken to David **, who helped me with the first complaint. But hey, now he can't help me because he isn't in the district. So here's the real kicker. After being hung up on, I called Kimberly who works at the front desk at corporate. As soon as she knew it was me, she said, "Janice, you need to pay your bill." Ha! My name isn't Janice, so you're saying it's okay that I've been treated this way? It's okay that people are treated this way by people including yourself, who are supposed to represent your company? This kind of behavior is okay? She said, "Yes, we have a job to do."
Well Mr. Ken Butler, you're running a gangster-type operation because your receptionist said on the phone that these practices are okay, along with "Ronnie ** would have not hung up on you because he isn't that kind of person. You had to do something." So the consumer in this case is never right. Trying to talk to people at corporate is a joke. Some hag behind a desk who thinks she knows what is going really doesn't have a clue at how ** it is to say that type of behavior is okay. I'm officially going to the state attorney general's Office of Consumer Protection and will be sending a copy of my complaint to the Federal Trade Commission. For people who don't know the process and are being bullied by these people, look up all your options and don't back down.

My husband got me a bedroom set from Aaron's for an anniversary gift. Unfortunately, like many others, we could not afford to buy it outright. The girl told us it would be $79.99 a month for 12 months. We agreed to this and paid the girl the $79.99 plus tax. She told us it would be delivered on the following Thursday and we were happy with this. On Tuesday, before the set was to be delivered, we received a call from Aaron stating we needed to pay an additional $79.99 before they would deliver it (we were new customers). Well this was what we were told anyway. The set was delivered on Thursday and all was good. Then, we got a phone call 2 weeks later for an additional payment for $79.99, my husband not knowing authorized the payment.
Then 2 more weeks passed by and they called and said, "We need your payment plus a late fee of $5." My husband and I thought we were 2 months ahead on payments so we questioned them. We find out they want $159.00 a month! But it gets better. My husband and I never signed a contract with them, so now they feel that they can do whatever they like. We talked to the manager at least 10 times, went to the store 2 times and got lied to over and over. Finally, we came to an OK agreement with them and the manager has a contract to sign and promised me that he will bring it by our house to sign but instead, he sent two dummies that has nothing, with one contract filled in with ink pen and we were told just sign it and it will be fixed later. Ah, no I don't think so!
Now we were told yet again that they have a contract ready and will come by. They never showed up! Now today, we are receiving harassing phone calls telling us the police are going to raid our home and that we better let them in our house. What a joke. Aaron is the worst in customer service. Before going to Aaron, shop around because they will be your friend in the store and tell you anything you want to hear. Don't trust them!

HP laptop - I bought a laptop and paid it off. The fan stopped working so I took the laptop to a repair shop to be repaired. The computer man said my motherboard was not the original one. It was not the one that came with the laptop. I called Aaron's to make sure I was sold a new laptop and he said he only had the laptop for 7 days and then I bought it. No one has worked on my laptop until the fan quit working. Aaron's manager said that I had this for 2 years and he doesn't know whom had it since then. Well I am 60 years old and have never had to lie to a business before about something going wrong. I paid money for the laptop and I still have money that I will not be spending at Aaron's again. That money will be spent at any store.
I don't respect a business that will lie to me and won't stand behind their word. My father once said a man's word is all a body should need. Well, some people just haven't figured how to be honest with good customers. I will be spending $500.00 a month somewhere else other than at Aaron's. I hope that others that are having to buy their own products, once the word gets around, will know that they can't be trusted.

On May 16, 2012, we went to Aaron Rents and purchased a living room set at $142 monthly. On that day, my daughter had an e-mail on her smartphone for $25 off. She asked the manager (while in store) if we needed to print it out or if they will use it based off phone. The manager replied, "No, I'll apply it without the printout." So after a $10 referral (daughter referred) and $25 (e-mail coupon) credit, my first payment that day was $107 and then I chose to have my payments out every 15th of the month for $142.
Upon delivery, they forgot my rug and brought the wrong lamps. When the right lamps did show up, the top screws were missing and never brought to us nor did the store ever apologize. On June 1, a manager (not the same one) called and said we were late on a partial payment of $25. After clarification of what the charge was for, we found out it was due to the coupon that did in fact need to be printed out! I explained that the store was very far from our home and that on the day that we went in, we actually made 3 trips back and forth. Hence why my daughter asked if we needed print, because she would have went back that day.
The manager started screaming, saying that it was due and that if we didn't pay, they had our credit card number on file and would charge it due to us signing up for automatic payments. I told the manager they did not have authorization to pull any money out other than the monthly payments on every 15th of the month. During all of this, no one ever said "sorry" for all the problems.
This was not our mistake; it was the communication between managers. One said we didn't need to print out the coupon; the other said we did weeks later. In my opinion, Aaron Rents of Las Vegas, Decatur Blvd. has the worse customer service I have ever encountered. They take zero accountability for their mistakes. I have asked them to pick up their items, because I do not want to contribute to a company that treats their customers like dirt.

After paying for a 52-inch LCD TV for the last two years, I finally paid it off. However, during that time I attempted to make several service appointments (four) to get a repair done. They would tell me I had to wait for them to be there between 12 pm and 7 pm, but on all occasions they did not show up or would call to apologize for the inconvenience. Finally, when I called to pay off the TV with my last payment, they finally decided that they were going to show up for a service. I was not told that they would be taking my TV, but they did and then said it would take 1-2 weeks to repair. After 3 weeks of not hearing a word from them, I went to the store and was told that they could not repair the TV and that they were going to have to replace it.
First off, they never called to let me know this. Then, they still wouldn't call when they had their "replacement options" for us to choose from. I had to call back continuously to get any information. As far as their "replacement options," they said they could get me a 42-inch LCD or a 50-inch projection. I did not spend the last two years paying for a 52-inch to pay it off and end up with a TV 10 inches smaller or even 2 inches smaller of a worse quality. It is absolutely absurd that they will call me within 15 minutes of me being late for a scheduled payment, but they cannot pick up the phone to fix their problem or apologize for their inconveniences. Also, on several occasions, at least 5 different times, I called them to update my contact information; however, if I was late or if they needed to get a hold of me, they wouldn't even attempt to call me but contact everyone on my list and harass my co-workers at work. Each time I found out they were contacting my references or workplace, I would call and once again update the same information I had previously updated several other times.

I have never in my life experienced such poor customer service as I have with Aaron's. We ordered a living room set in February after paying off a washer and dryer from Aaron's in 1/4 of the time we had on our contract to pay it with no interest. The furniture came the first week of March at 10:30PM. They told me they couldn't commit to a time, just a day. I informed them I had 3 small children so please do not come at night. After much consideration, we accepted the delivery. During inspection, we saw 5 out of 6 pieces were damaged. The rep from Aaron's took photos with his phone and told us we would get a phone call tomorrow for a new delivery of our items. 2 weeks passed and I called the store, left a message once each week. No return call. This happened 8 other times, even leaving a message for the general manager twice, who also never called back.
The first bill came, I didn't pay it and called the store asking for delivery of the 5 other items and I would happily pay the bill. No call back again. Finally, 8 weeks later, this past Friday, the furniture appears and is delivered. Today, the Aaron's truck came to repossess our newly delivered furniture for nonpayment. I only had it for 2 days and tried to explain to the Aaron's rep. He made numerous excuses about trying to deliver it multiple times and calling, but no one was ever here. Well I work from home 6 days a week so unless they came on Sunday, someone is always here and they had my cell phone number and house number.
It is a shame that the only way I finally was able to speak to the GM was when the driver of the truck here to collect my furniture called him for me. 8 weeks with no response is inexcusable. All I wanted was someone to tell me my furniture was ordered and when it would be here. Horrible service and I will never ever order from here again.

I was renting a Dell and HP netbook and TV since 9/2011. I had been paying on the account till March 2012. I have been going through family issues and medical issues and lost UE income. My aunt had been talking to Aaron up till March 2012 when she had to address her own family issues. Anyway in the meantime, when I was gone for a week, the place where I was staying at, my aunt's sisters had some company from out of state. Apparently, the teen in the family was kicked out and during a fight to get him out, my TV was damaged beyond repair. I later learned he had taken my two computers. I learned that the insurance I paid in rental amazingly did not cover theft or damage unless act of God! So I figured nothing could do, but keep on paying even though I lost all three items.
Then I lost income in April, UE stopped and I got sick again. I got a call on 5/9/12 from the police saying Kevin, the manager, was filing a report of theft as well as the company and had charged off Dell. I was in collections as I was behind 6 weeks. When my aunt tried to call as I was at the doctor, the store manager Kevin (who mind you in the past had no problem speaking with her in Feb 2012 when she helped me pay out $515 paying them through 3/15/12) told her he would not speak with her. I take meds and was just too groggy yesterday. I am calling the police today to explain the situation, but I think it's terrible that they even filed a report after all the money I have paid. I was afraid to tell them the items were stolen and broken.
My aunt just read the contract and realized that if the insurance I have been paying doesn't cover, then I am responsible only for fair market value and not to exceed cash price. The netbook and TV were grossly overpriced and used. I looked on eBay and can barely get $125 (cash price $330) on netbook and $200 on TV (cash price $459). Dell was new, but on eBay, it's selling for $285 (cash price $809). I am going through severe depression as a result for 6 months. First, homeless in 2011 after losing job (college grad too). My aunt and her sister have been trying to help me since last August to get through this and I was doing better till February, when I had major family issue with my sick mom. I have no problem per the contract paying the fair market value as stated "if lost or damaged".
I am worried that they filed 3rd degree felony charge as I did not steal the items, but a victim. I cannot believe this company. Stay away from Aaron especially Palm Harbor, FL store as the manager Kevin is rude and mean!

I'm sorry, but I paid 3 times what the computer was worth, not to mention it was used, and I hear you have to pay to have it fixed. **! I was told it would be cheaper to get another computer and did I want it fixed by this company? No, thank you!
I told them to send it back. It would be back the next Wednesday. Well, guess what? I have now waited 2 weeks and I am still being told, next Wednesday! And, let us not forget that you have over 300 stores to deliver to and it takes time. Well, guess what? So does Rent-A-Center and they can get their merchandise back when they say they will. When I signed my first lease for a new laptop, I did not have any problems. I then moved and needed a washer and dryer so I decided to go through Aaron's. That is when the problems started. I knew I was getting pre-lease furniture. It did not bother me. However, when it got to the house, no one had inspected it prior to putting it on the truck so after it was delivered and hooked up, they realized that it was going to have to go to the place they use to fix everything. It took three days for me to even get a loaner. I got my loaner. They told me my washer would be back in approximately 2 weeks. I called after 2 weeks and my washer was still not in. Finally after a month of waiting, they delivered my washer.
Fast forward about two months, my washer would pause the cycle by itself so I called and asked if they would have someone come look at it for me. They came a week later and told me that I needed to take the cover off and remove the filter and clean the filter in the washer (when it was on my lease that they fix it when/if it breaks while I am under lease). Fast forward again another five months, I get a new house that does not have a stove or a fridge and I have a one-year old so I needed both. I could not afford to buy one out right or I would have only option left was either used or Aaron's. I didn't want to go the used route because when it comes to stoves and fridges, I like to know what I'm getting myself into.
My husband went and had it all set up for delivery. We were told between 3:00 and 6:00 it would be delivered on a Wednesday and told us if it was not there on time, we would receive a discount. Husband was told that all equipment would be hooked up. They were not there until after 7:30 that night. They came in, put the fridge where it belongs, threw the shelves in it and adjusted the temp. They brought the stove in but did not bother to take any of the cardboard boxes from the stove which contained my burner covers nor did they bother to take the cardboard from the stove. They spent 15 minutes on the phone while inside my house and they were supposed to be setting up my merchandise. We had to hook the stove up ourselves.
Husband called and asked to speak with someone about how rudely I was treated and was told, "I don't know what to tell you." Their customer service is poor, extremely poor and I will never recommend them to anyone. If payment is not made on the exact day it's due, they call you four times a day harassing you. They know my husband gets paid every 2 weeks our payment is due on the 1st so if he gets paid on the 3rd or the 4th, normally on payday we deliver cash or check. They continue to harass us calling several times a day about making a payment even when we have them write down we will be in on this day. They have bad lack of communication, the sales reps are rude and the delivery guys are rude as well. Next time, I will save up the money to buy something outright from Sears or another store. I will not waste my money at a store where they do not value customer service.

I am writing regarding my daughter’s (Regina **) account with Aaron Rents which is located at the corner of Blanding Blvd and 103rd St. in Jacksonville, Florida. I brought Regina to Aaron to purchase furniture for her apartment located at ** Jacksonville, Florida 32277. Regina is 21 years old.
In the past, I notice that there was a problem with her account. Even though it had Regina’s name and correct address, it had my social security number on it. I assisted Regina but she sign for her account. I sign for her temporarily while she was at work and I was told by worker it would be transferred back with no problem (at the initial time of obtaining the furniture, I had no employment or income other than child support arrearages of $25.00 weekly). Regina faxed papers in to the Aaron representative (paystubs, etc.). I sign to receive her furniture at her home while she was at work.
The problem I have is that ever since Aaron placed Regina name and address to her account, they fail to place her social security number to the account as well. I also asked more than one representative and more than one manager to fix the problem (I came in to the store multiple times and called many times as well).
Recently, Regina moved from ** and initially I did not know where. When Regina desired to move from her new location where she lived with someone I asked about her Aaron account. She told me she was three to four months behind. Regina let me know she was having problems with the person she moved in with and desired to get out of his home immediately. I and other people helped her move out of the person’s home (she claimed domestic violence).
Regina became a guest in my home while she figured out what she needed to do. Her furniture from Aaron remained in the person’s home. I told Regina I could loan her money (that has started) for two weeks and she would have to pay me back when she got paid. I could not do more, currently I am in bankruptcy and cannot afford to give anyone money. Regina and I had a disagreement that caused her to leave my home where she resided as a guest for three days. Regina was previously told she could reside in my home as a guest (no payments for any services rendered or tangible things given except gas for her transportation back and forth to work) so she could pay her debt off with Aaron and get her finances together. I did all of this and offered these things because Regina found out last week that she is 6 weeks pregnant and has been a victim of domestic violence.
I again went to Aaron and asked to speak to two managers because Regina is no longer a guest in my home. I was interested to know how many payments she was behind. I spoke with two managers one of whom was **. I asked why was the furniture still with Regina since he verbalized he was picking it up over 6 months ago. ** let me know he was unable to pick up the furniture because she did not answer the door or phone (I felt that she should have received some paper telling her of Aaron’s position and intent). Information should have been left on her door and at her job. Aaron knew her job place and job phone number. Again, Regina moved out of her apartment ** approximately at the beginning of the year (2012).
** let me know that Regina’s account had been turned over to the state attorney’s office approximately 15 days ago. I ask ** (manager at Aaron) could he please call Regina now by phone at this current cell phone number of hers and notify her that her account has been turned over to the state attorney. He verbalized he could not tell her that but I could tell her. I notified family to notify Regina of the status of her account. I gave the manager the current cell phone number of Regina (**) and her storage information (Uncle Bob’s Storage #**: phone number **, located ** Jacksonville, Florida 32210). Her storage number I fail to recall. I know it is in the 400s and directly behind the storages to your right upon entering the storage front gate. I told the manager her furniture is currently there but I don’t have a key (Regina remove my name from access after our dispute).
Again, I gave ** my full name, Deborah **, this time my cell **, and asked him to fix the account so my social security is not showing under Regina’s account information (which is a horrible error on Aaron Rental behalf).

Yes, I am renting to buy a Samsung washer and dryer and when I went there to get it, they told me it was brand new. I had it for three months now. On the second month, it was leaking water from the front of the wash. So I called Aaron's and they sent out someone who works on washers and dryer. When the man came to my house, I explained what was wrong. He looked at the machine and told me the gasket that goes on the front door need to be replaced. I then asked how this could happen when the washer was new. He then told me by the way the washer looks, it was not brand new. So I called the manager of Aaron's and he then told me that we can do two things: have them bring me another washer from another store or pay the washer man to fix it. I then told him what ever is best for him as long as I have a working washer.
Then I didn't hear anything from them for three weeks. On the first, I went in to talk to the manager about the machine. I then noticed there was another washer, the same one in the store. So I asked if I can have that one. He told me he was going to take off $20 from my bill and he was going to send me the washer in the store. Now that one also said brand new on it and they were going to bring it to me on Saturday. When they came to bring me the washer, they came in my house and tried to fix the washer. I told them why are they trying to fix it when the manager, Tony, said they were coming to just bring me a new one. So they called Tony, the manager and told him it was not leaking. So they told me if it was not leaking, they cannot change it. So when they left, they left the washer running and I went to my basement to check on it. The same problem was happening, water leaking from the front door.
I then called Tony, the manager, back and told him I was still having the problem with the water leaking. He then told me I refused to make the payment for the washer and dryer to the guys who came out to my house. I told them I was going to go and pay Tony, the manager, myself so we can talk about this issue. So when I called him, he was getting nasty with me, telling me I broke the washer. I asked him how he told me by overloading the washer. I then told him, "How are you just going to say I broke it now when they can't see how much clothes I put it in?" Then I told him I've been a customer of Aaron's for about 4 or 5 years now and everything I got from them has been giving me problems.
I got a 36 inch TV from them that doesn't work. As soon as I paid it off, the TV has a hard time staying on. It will cut off and on. I then got a brand new flat screen TV that gave me problems, change from HDMI1 to HDMI2, the button to change it was messed up when you pressed it, the volume would go down. So they gave me another TV and I paid that off now. The TV they gave me will cut off by itself then will cut back on. Then I got a surround sound from them and one of the speakers was blown. They then replaced that. So when I was telling him all these, he told me the surround sound I broke I ask how he told me I was putting it too loud, I then told him the volume goes to 50. I only put mine to 20 to 25, no higher than that. Then he told me with that washer, he was going to give me the new one in the store and after he did that, he was done with my washer.
I asked him how he could be done with that washer when something could be wrong with the new one. He then told me he has rented a lot from this store and not one has given him a problem. I was the first one. I then asked him for his boss number so I can talk to him because I feel he was every rude and unwilling to help me when I am paying for something brand new. And also, I don't see how it's brand new when they brought me the washer and dryer when on both of them, the front door has a lot of scratches on it. If it was brand new, they shouldn't look they way they do

I have been a repeat customer with Aaron's for over 12 years. When I got sick in October of 2011, I was contacted by Aaron's about being behind and they would have to come get the stuff I'd been paying on for five years. I told them to come get it. So they called back and put everything in my son's name. When I took back a desktop in 2010 because it stopped working, they gave me a loaner that did not work either. So we returned it and decided to get a laptop. We had to return five times before they found one that did not fall apart when we picked it up off the counter. The Xbox my son had rented red ringed so we took it back in for repairs. They called two months later and ask if we had an Xbox in for repairs, they found one in the backroom that they didn't know who it belong to.
While I was on the phone with the lady, she said, "It just pulled your son's name up as the owner. We will get it fixed and back out to you soon." I have not seen it! I was renting two mattress and box spring should have paid off two years ago. One they came and got. After being put through all this harassment, I find out they took money off my debt card without my consent. Then they ran a check that was altered that was not suppose to have been cashed at all. So they said I'd have to return the merchandise. We set up a date for them to come get it. I was put in the hospital.
When I was released, I was called and rudely informed that if they did not get their stuff back, I would go to jail. We set up another day. They came out, picked up most of the furniture and washer/dryer, TV but left sectional and recliner. Lap top was in shop. We returned the laptop to the store and I am still getting calls. They still come to my home and they are still contacting family and coworkers causing more problems. They should not be allowed to do this. The reason they left the recliner was because it was paid off. But the couch pre-owned when I got it they broke the leg off moving it. But yet they still can act this way? They should be shut down and charges filed. I even paid for furniture I never got from the repair dept: bluray player, surround sound, Xbox system.

I started leasing a living room suite for Aaron Rents to own in December 2011. I have had nothing but problems out of the employees and the furniture. The employees don't follow through with what they say they are going to do. They had to send a repair man out to my house 3 times to find out what was broken on the reclining love seat (still not fixed). And on one occasion, they sent 2 delivery guys to my house to look the piece over, and I thought they were going to break it. (They were extremely rough with the furniture.) It was rainy outside, and when they left, they drove the big delivery truck on top of my septic tank and made ruts in my yard.
I then decided to have them come pick the furniture up. The manager assured me that they would come promptly at 11am, but they did not show up. I called to see why and asked them to come at 4pm the same day. They were late then too. I am so angry with them that I will never step foot into one of their stores again.

Well they have had it almost a month because it went out. Please someone reply and help.

I am happy to report that Aaron's in Red Bluff, CA finally got a regional manager on the phone today and he is going to rectify the issue with our leased to own TV. It turns out that there were indeed two very good TVs in back (conveniently?) when we came to see what was offered. They were not shown to us; however, we will get one of the Phillips TVs to swap for ours without any additional fees or problems. We were told about it this afternoon. It is sad we had to go to such great lengths to get things done in our behalf. However, it will all be okay in the end if Aaron's keeps the arrangement. Thank you, Aaron’s.

I leased a 32" Sharp TV on Narcg 24m 2011 and within a short time, the picture would become unstable. It was either too bright or too dark. We could not get it right. Blinded at night, while watching and yet straining during the day to see the TV screen, we asked for assistance and were told that they would get us a replacement. That was between April 2011 and July 2011. December 5, 2011, I called and requested that someone fix this issue. I had gone to every forum known to man. Everyone has the same issue. Sharp has a problem with some mechanism. So, they said they'd replace it and a man named Rob said he'd get on it immediately and invited me down to see what was on the floor. Well, what was on the floor was not very good quality, so he said he'd call me later in the month. The 15th, someone named AJ took over and said he'd call me. Nobody called, so around January 2012, I called and asked these people to please get me another TV. I was then told that someone would call me back and they'd see what was available in other stores. Then, a woman named Sheree answered. She said she'd take care of it. Again, she referred me to AJ who never called.
By the 25th of January, nothing happened. I called Bret at the store. He said he'd take care of it, but he never did. February 2012, Bret called me back and said he'd take care of it before close of business that day. He never called. I got on the phone with Rob at the Chico store (complaining) and he called AJ who never called me and on February 25, 2012, I got hold of AJ, and he said he would discount our new TV, exchange us and take care of it. He admitted there was a communication breakdown. Well, we went in as he asked. There were some nicer TVs. None of the 32" would do as they were all sub-standard from the TV I was leasing. Keep in mind, I have made all ten payments meantime and never watched my TV but sparingly. AJ stated he would make it good. He said he'd credit the money payed toward our TV at the rate of 15% off the rental of any other TV. I thought, okay...we'll just pick out another TV. There was a lovely Phillips 47" TV on the floor marked $99.99/month. Adding a 15% discount, that makes it $84 a month, plus tax. I told him we'd take that one, but he stated it wasn't $99.99, that it had gone off sale and was now 109.99. I asked him if he could lease it to us for that price, and give us our promised discount, since it was advertised publicly on their floor, tagged on the TV for that rate, and he said no.
Sheree came over at his request and he asked her to change the tag. At that point, I realize this guy is not on our side at all. He's really trying to soak us. Then, he adds it up, and says when applying our discount, the total for this Phillips TV would be $107 a month with tax. No way. That, my friends, is called creative math. He created what he wanted the math to be. So, we went to the counter to see his math and there on the counter is a gorgeous sharp 60" TV for $99.99 per month. I said, "may we take the 15% off this TV instead? " He stated in reply that he couldn't sell us one. He had been instructed by Aaron, his regional manager not to sell us a new TV. Long story short, we were not getting any discount, no replacement and I told him I'd like to speak with Aaron (always nice, I am, but I am tired of this) and I went home and went to my kitchen, sat down and broke down in tears. I am so frustrated, here I am...crying like a little girl. These guys have jerked me around for ten months. The left hand of their store has no idea what the right hand is doing. This store, by the way folks, is the store in red bluff, California. I have payed out just under $400 for a TV I cannot watch. No replacement is offered, but some old, ugly TV that I don't want, and I am not allowed to buy a new TV at any discount, although they promised me one. I filed with the BBB, but at this point, I am so frustrated, I just wish someone would do something to fix this! Please, please please. Please? This is a consumer complaint from a very upset and tired consumer.

I can't believe how unprofessional and rude these people are! I rented a washer and dryer from the Aaron's store in Atlantic Beach, FL. I lost my job and called Aaron's the day I lost my job to let them know about my situation and asked if there was anyway they could work with me. The gentleman I spoke with the first time was polite and helped me by letting me arrange a date to make my payment late. A few days later, I got a call from the store's general manager. Her name is Cora. I explained to her the situation and told her that I had already talked to someone from the store who agreed to let me make my payment late.
The general manager told me that making my payment late was not possible and in fact they couldn't work with me at all. I was very upset. Not only was I upset with being told one thing and then told another, but this lady, Cora, was extremely rude to me. Whenever I would try to explain anything, she would cut me off and talk over me. She ended up hanging up on me. I called the store back after she hung up on me and the phone was picked up and immediately hung up again. I called again; the phone rang and rang for about 10 minutes. She was obviously avoiding my call. Cora finally answered and was very rude!
I just couldn't believe this lady was a general manager of a store and was allowed to treat customers this way! I asked for the corporate phone number and she gave me a very hard time about it. I ended up finding the phone number on google and called and made a complaint. They took my information and I explained the situation. I was told corporate would call me back but they never did.
I again had to deal with Cora this month. She is still very rude and hung up on me again. This is ridiculous!
I completely regret doing business with Aaron's and I will never go there again. I will let all my friends and family know about my terrible experience. I cannot believe that this company can get away with so much harassment and terrible treatment to their customers.

My husband and I started a rental agreement with Aaron's about 5 months ago for a washer, dryer and a laptop. Our monthly bill was to be $215.00 for all the items. After paying the bill online on time and sometimes before time, we received a call from the store saying that we owed last fees of over $250. They said that it was stated in the agreement when we singed the contract. Needless to say, that it wasn't nor did the delivery man explain that to us. But the late fees are not valid. We have never been late on a payment. When we contacted the store manager, he said that the only bill quote was wrong. Our bill was suppose to be $265.00 monthly and that we had to pay up the money that was misquoted.
Well, we weren't about to do that, so we asked them to come to some sort of reasoning about the matter that was not our fault. He said he would not and that the balance was on us to pay. We refused to pay and kept paying our online bill, but they were taking the said balance from our monthly payment to pay that and then told us that we were behind in our monthly payment due to insufficient funds! When we stopped payments and asked that they get the matter sorted out before we started payments again, they started harassing us by way of phone calls and threatening to send the cops to my house. They called my husbands job and told the situation to his supervisor, his fellow employees and his boss had at one time been a client of theirs and they called him at his home to complain to him and threatened to have him brought up on charges as a co-conspirator!
The last straw is that they have been coming to my house. I live in a gated community. They told the gate guards that we called them in for service repairs and they have threatened my children and have attempted to push their way pass my 18 years old son and proceeded to curse at him. This is appalling and not fair for something that was their mistake.

I went into my local Aaron's store in Ripley, WV shortly after the grand opening in September 2011. I purchased a couch and loveseat and was told for 120 days there would be no interest. The price was $1100 over a 24-month period. I was directly asked if I wanted 24 payments or 48. I stated 24 payments and signed off on my agreement. That day, I made a payment for September, October and November. My payments were to be $95.39 per month. I did not need to make another payment until December 1st, 2011. All of my future payments were due on the 1st of each month.
In November, I experienced financial hardship. I contacted the store and spoke to the manager, Jeff. As soon as I explained to him my situation and asked if I could pay a week or two late, he became very rude and condescending. He said that they were going to just come and pick up my furniture that day since I chose not to make a payment. This was the first time I was late on a payment. I explained again that there was no way I could make that payment in full on the 1st and asked to speak to someone above him because of the way he was treating me. He became even more rude and told me that even if he gave me a number to make a complaint, that they would side with him and force me to make my payment that day or pick up my furniture that day. I asked for the contact number anyway.
When I called the other number I was given and explained my situation, the lady took my information and entered it into the system. She said that there would be someone from corporate calling me within 72 hours to resolve the matter. I received no call from corporate. The sales manager, Mark, began coming to my home several times a day. I wasn't there so he would leave notes each time. The store was calling my phone up to three times per hour. The automated system was calling my phone every hour as well. In one day, I had at least 30 calls from Aaron's. That is harassment and extremely unnecessary.
I finally ended up borrowing the money from a family member and paying a half payment that day in the store. They charged me $52.09 for a half payment, even though my full monthly payment was only $95.39. When I questioned this, Jeff told me that he didn't know what I was talking about and that that was the correct amount for a half payment. I told them I would pay the remaining amount around the middle of the month and I was not asked to sign anything, nor was I told anything. I made the rest of my payment (another $52.09) on December 15, 2011. I was harassed from the 1st of that month until I made the remaining payment on the 15th. I paid my January payment online on January 1, 2012 because I did not want to go back into the store and have to deal with Jeff or anyone else who worked there. I have since looked at my receipt from the day I made the partial payment, and it said I had 43 of 45 payments remaining.
I called the store last Thursday and asked Mark what my remaining balance was. He stated over $900 (which cannot be correct) and when I questioned him about why my lease agreement had been changed he put me on hold. Jeff got on the phone and told me that he didn't know what I was talking about because they didn't offer anything over 24 payments. I told him that I had a receipt showing that I had 43 of 45 payments remaining and that I signed up on a 24 month lease agreement. He became very rude again and I told him that I knew that there was a 48 month payment agreement because it gives the amounts and terms on my agreement that I have kept on record. He repeatedly told me I didn't know what I was talking about so I hung up the phone.
I have never been treated so badly by someone at a place of business. I don't mind to pay what I owe on the lease agreement that I signed on for. But, I feel that they are trying to extend my agreement so that I will not only have to pay extra interest but so that they can charge me twice as much for my purchase. I would appreciate it if someone would contact me and let me know what can be done. I have called the store repeatedly and have been told there is no contact number to the company to make a complaint or to resolve an issue. In my opinion, that is not good business. Thank you.

I was in desperate need so I sign the contract with the understanding that the manager would call me and we would get to the bottom of the problem. "If we do not receive a payment we will have you arrested for theft" I am very unhappy with how these people handled there customers. They are rude and highly unprofessional! The company closes at 7pm and they were banging on my door at 10pm. We have young children and work at 7am. They call at least 8 times a day and leave threatening voice mails!
I'm am about to file harassment charges on these people! We spoke to Nick and told him that February 1st, we would be paying the full amount on the set. At this time he agreed yet the harassment continues!

Today, 1/3/12, a delivery driver, Terrence, and helper arrived to try to pick up a washer and dryer. I had been working with a lady from their corp. office and one of their so called regional managers. I made a payment to the lady in the corp office to catch up 2 of my payments out of three. I fell behind due to medical issues. Well, anyway, I try to tell this Terrence that and he called me a "** liar and a *** thief." At this point, I told them to get off my property. Terrance got on his Nextel and was calling for a supervisor to come out and I told him to get off again.
He said, "What you going to do if I don't? " His helper just snickered. I said I was going to call the police and he said to go ahead and he would have me arrested for being a ** thief. Once I dialed the police, he and his helper walked to the side of the property and said we are off and we are not going anywhere. Then Aaron's supervisor showed up and tried to come on the property and I told him to stop, that the police had already been called. Their truck was blocking my driveway so I told them they needed to move it. The helper just laughed and then I said I would have a tow truck called. Terrence said to go ahead, but their supervisor told them to move it, so the helper pulled it up far enough to block the entire driveway.
Once the police arrived, I told them what was going on and the supervisor tried to convince them they had a right to enter my house. Thank goodness the police knew the law and told them they did not and that it would be in their best interest to leave. Terrence and the helper got into their truck and the supervisor into his personal car and left. Before the police left, they told me that if they come back to give them a call and since I told them not to come back on my property that if they did I could have them arrested for trespassing.
I work for a very large retailer as a corp employee in the field and if I ever talked like that to someone, I would have been fired on the spot, but their supervisor thought it was funny.

They have contacted family members of mine that I thought were dead. They called my work place. They called me six times a day and all I am begging for was a week. Because of my hardship, I have to go sell my wedding ring to cover that check I wrote to Aaron's. This is so painful. They were horrible to me. What rights did I have? Could I have called 911?
The are all born from ***. At that place, Vinny, the manager was mean nasty and he is the *** himself. How humiliating. All I needed was a bit of time and I was willing to pay even double. I have not had a problem with them (Aarons) until my laptop lost its IP. I called HP per the direction of my cable provider and gave them the serial number and was told the laptop was 2 years old and was no longer under warranty. I called Aarons and brought it to them to be repaired. When the repair was complete I sent my son to pick it up. At that time it was the holidays and I was not in class, so I put it up. When I did hook it up I noticed the screen was cracked. I called them right away and told them about it. I also informed them that when my son came in to pick it up, the young man could not find my laptop and when he brought this one out he could not find the A/C cord.
The young man did not check the laptop to make sure it was operating; he just gave it to my son. I was then informed that I broke it and they were not responsible and I had to pay $300.00 to have it fixed. Well, this laptop is not my laptop; the serial number I gave HP does not match this one. So I felt that I was stuck. Now I have learned my lesson. I purchased a new laptop for less than $400.00 and it is better and have everything I need for class. I will give them the money. I feel I have no other choice, but never again. I would have paid more than $700.00 for a used older model laptop. My advice: do not get electronics from any rent to own. The age, and if the item is new or not, is not known to you the buyer.

I leased-to-own a laptop from Aaron's in Simpsonville, SC. Yes, I have been late on some payments but the payments have always been made and caught up. My complaint is the phone harassment. Everyone in my house works nights and they insist on calling at 8am. I have asked repeatedly for them to call later. At this point, I only owe $150 on the laptop and was supposed to pay it on 12/19; however, I have emphysema and hand an exacerbation which had me at the hospital, so I was not able to bring the payment in on that day. I could not even speak while the Aaron's rep hounded me to make payment over the phone. I refused.
From the experience I've had with them, I don't trust them with my banking information. I have always made payments but they have come to my home twice while I was at work and they have called my neighbors, divulging private information. I will never do business with Aaron's again and I will not recommend them to anyone because of the phone harassment.

I am a month late, one payment, on my rental agreement with Aaron's. They have been harassing me since the day payment was due. I was told they would help me out by my grandmother who they also were harassing. When I called to make the arrangements I was told there would be no arrangement and they will just come retrieve my merchandise and hold it. I offered them half of what was due but they would not accept it. They were very rude and lack people skills entirely.
After my conversation they continued to harass me with phone calls and trips to my house. While at my house they looked through my windows, and they even went to the extent to unscrew my outside light in order to see better. While one was doing that the other one went around the house to see what other windows he could peer in. I have always paid them what I owed plus and tried to keep a good business relationship. The obviously don't know how to do business and they don't care about keeping customers. Shut down. Don’t hire crack heads. They don’t follow the company rules.

Aarons called my job when I was out on medical leave and left information regarding my account status and questioned the validity of my account. They also called a person I had on my account as a reference and asked them what was wrong with me. And they told her that this was not like me not to pay my bill. I owe for the month of Nov. and now Dec. But I have informed Aarons that I am not in a position to make the payment. And I told them I would like for them to pick up the bedroom set, which was pre-owned when I rented it. They (Aarons) stated they cannot schedule a pick up for Saturday, 12/10. And they said that if I’m not in a position to have them pick it up today, 12/8 then they will not pick it up at all. And the account will be referred to collection for the amount of the bed set as if it was a new purchase.

I leased what was stated as a new dryer a year ago. Within 2 days, it began overheating, timer would not stop and it threw the master breaker. I called the store in Jasper, TX. It took them 4 days to come get it and over 6 months to get it back. The loner worked better and I payed it off in March. It was returned 2 months ago in October.
On12/2/11, it started the same mess all over again. I contacted the GM, Kenny, who said it would be pick up and fixed in store, there are no employed appliance repair men! I just paid tripled for a dryer that was in my house for less than 4 months and they refuse to even give me a discount on a used one!
Please help! Also, during the last year, I leased a Camcorder that caught fire. They would not replace and blamed me. My son just got injured on a bunk bed that supposedly passed their 7-point inspection when 2 slats broke while he was sleeping and he fell onto the floor! For that, they also blame me!

I purchased a laptop (in store bought not home delivery) February of 2011. I was told I could pay it off early, (120 days four months). I had witness with me at the time the store visit. I made my payments online. I got the confirmation numbers or I have my bank statements to prove all the payments to Aaron's. I completed my payments June 15, 2011 of $882. It read zero balance owed.
They have been calling and harassing me on my land line and cell phone, leaving messages. Sending mail.
Now they started coming inside my apartment building and coming to my door and posting threats to take back the laptop five times now, which I'm contesting I completed the payments due. They are harassing me so much now. I can't eat or sleep well. I feel I may have to report them to the police or something. I block their calls on my land line. I'm thinking of changing my cell phone number as well. I've kept all of my documents and notices with their hand writing they've left on my door knob of my home.

It looks like they have run up charges on lots of others. Lawsuit Filed Against Aarons, Inc. Regarding Alleged Improper Practices Lawsuit claims that Aarons, Inc. repeatedly breaches rent-to-own contracts, violates state usury laws, and engages in unfair business practices.
Atlanta, Georgia (PRWEB) November 11, 2011. Atlanta law firm Webb, Klase & Lemond, LLC has filed a class action lawsuit against Aarons, Inc., one of Americas leading rent-to-own companies with over 1,900 total stores. Aarons leases furniture, appliances, and electronics to consumers usually with the promise that, after a certain number of payments have been successfully completed, the consumer will own the items.
The new lawsuit alleges that Aarons has breached its lease agreements by refusing to provide pay-off information to consumers and through other improper practices. The suit further asserts that the company has used unfair business practices, false advertising, and misrepresentations to induce customers to enter lease agreements that are not as favorable for the consumer as represented. The claims also include unjust enrichment. The case, styled Clark v. Aarons, Inc., is pending in the Superior Court of Fulton County Georgia and has been assigned Case Number **.
According to the suit, Aarons rent-to-own business model is in reality the extension of credit through consumer loans disguised as leases for the purchase of goods. The suit alleges that the difference between the market value of the goods and the total amount of payments made by a consumer constitutes interest. State usury laws, such as the civil and criminal usury statutes in Georgia, impose a cap on the amount of interest that may be charged by a lender. The suit alleges that Aarons repeatedly violates these laws.
Further, the suit alleges that Aarons deceptively markets its well-known offer of 120-days same as cash. According to the complaint, this offer purports to allow consumers to buy their furniture, appliances, or electronics from Aarons for their market value so long as the consumer pays in full within four months. The deception, as alleged in the suit, is that Aarons regularly and proactively attempts to prevent consumers from taking advantage of the 120-day offer by failing to provide them with their outstanding balance or pay-off amount in a timely and appropriate manner. You are my last hope. Please contact me or I will take further action, which I do not want to do. We paid for the computer in good faith and we expect to be able to use it. Please call.

Me and my mother went to the store on Abrams and Skillman to make a purchase and evidently, a customer was behind in payment. He came to make a payment and the store manager cursed the Hispanic guy out. He called this man ** and ignorant. We tried to go to another Aaron to get assistance, but unfortunately, no other store service our area. Now, she refuses to go to that store again. If someone from the corporate heard how this store manager raised his voice at this customer, he probably would have been fired on the spot. The customer did not defend himself and asked the manager "why are you talking to me like this?". The manager straightly told him it's because "he was ** for not making his payments and when I come knocking on your door, it is to come get my ** back".
My mom was so upset, she said he wasn't supposed to put the man's business out there like that. He should have called the man to his office and talk to him privately because we did not need to know that the man didn't make his payment and were just partial payments. I have never seen a manager conduct business like that and I hope I will never have to see this type of behavior and threats as well again.

I called Aaron about a month ago and told them something was wrong with my refrigerator and now it went out on 10-31-11. I called them at 8 a.m. and told them that everything was unfreezing and I have a grandbaby with me. The girl on the phone was not very caring. I said all my meat and milk were going bad but she said they can't get to me until 3-7 p.m. on 11-1-11. And now my grandson has no milk, no food to eat because everything we had in there is gone.
Let your payment be one day late and they are harassing you but if you need them, they are there for you. I should have stayed at rent a center--they did come out the same day if something went wrong. I'm thinking of going back to them.

I don't know who I can contact about this situation but Aaron's in Woonsocket is harassing my family and friends about something that my ex took out. Here's the story: my ex and I got a bedroom set. The guys delivered it and the mattress was cheap-looking so they came in with another one. The bureau handle just "fell" off the bed and was not put together right.
We called Aaron's and told them that they had to come and fix it; no one showed up. My ex left me and she called Aaron's to tell them that they needed to come get their stuff as soon as possible again. No one called her back. She called again and was told that someone would call her back--no one did. Now, we lived in a secured building, which they knew that in order to come in, you need to call first. The doors here are always locked that even friends and family can't get in unless they call first.
I got a phone call today from someone who wasn't even on the Aaron's papers saying "I just left Aaron's and they said that if we can get them into your building, we can have a few free months." Now, that is a breaking and entering, talking to people who know nothing about the stuff and I want no part of it. This is my place and my ex does not live here anymore. I would like Aaron's in Woonsocket, RI on Social St. to stop talking to my friends and family.
As far as the Aaron's junk goes, it went with her when she left. She called them to come get it and they did not. I don't know who else to take this to but I am tired of hearing about it. If the Aaron's store in Woonsocket, RI did their job right and came to pick up their stuff when asked to, then I wouldn't have to sit here and type this. But enough is enough. Next step is a legal action. My friends and family don't want to be involved and neither do I. Thank you.
