Aaron's Dover DE RR 8 - The rudest GM I have ever met. "Billy" is full of it. Lies... Harassing customers to get his monthly bonus. They will bang on your door and ring doorbell for 44 min straight, then go to truck for a break.

I rented a washer and dryer from Aaron's back in February and paid $160 a month. I missed a payment due to medical condition, brain tumor. I called to make a payment management - said " no money needed just give back MY product." He hung up not willing to work with me. Aaron's took washer and dryer back on August 4, 2015. I called district office to resolve this with no results yet.

My family and I bought a living room set from Aaron's and it has bedbug. They refuse to come and get it and they came out and took the pillows off the large couch and the lamps and they owed me glass for the table, and I never got it, and want me to continue to make payments.

My family rented a couch, recliner & chaise from Aaron's. It was infested with bed bugs. We contacted them, they came out & confirmed it was & took the furniture & destroyed it & wrapped it in plastic in our front yard. My husband & I have been given the run around & can't get them to take care of the problem they created. It wasn't even cleaned before entering our home... we found a man's driver's license & 2 credit cards. Horrible business & customer relations.

I am the landlord to someone that rented from Aaron's in west Ashley SC. They have come to my door banging on it and waking my house up and he works 12 hour shifts from 7 pm to 7 am. I have told them she moved and they had one of their drivers come do a walk thru 3 months ago and they still coming to my house and the house she lived in. This is harassment and I will not let them work through again. They have already worked through and they need to stay off my land like I have told them. She called and told them herself and told them she was moving to come get it and they never did. This is bs. I own my stuff and would rather save and go without than ever rent from this company.

I complained to Aaron's about earlier bedbug infestation and about their policy on early payout. I had been told by one of their employees that the early payout was not $1207.33 as specifically written on the receipt and that if I paid 1207, only half would go to the principal.
Aaron's management responded very quickly and professionally, assuring me that the aforementioned early payout policy was mistaken and that I could pay off the entire amount as stated on the receipt they gave me.
As for the bedbug infestation, they came out very quickly and inspected the furniture. There was no evidence of bedbugs whatsoever. They very courteously and professionally eased my mind and showed that the infestation was probably fleas from my dog. Because of their actions and attitude, I would recommend Aaron's to anyone.

The bed that Aaron's sold me has bedbugs. Also, they're, in effect, charging 50% interest yearly! The receipt they give me shows the Early Payout amount of about $1200. I asked if I could pay the entire amount and they informed me that only half of the 1200 would go towards the principal. In order for me to pay the entire amount and get out from under their debt, I would have to pay $2400. The Early Payout amount they are claiming, therefore, is a LIE! Their predatory practices are a scam and a rip-off.

I am a repeat customer to the Edmond, OK store. I have paid off many things there and I am a good consumer to that store but they are not a good customer service/satisfaction store. I have been renting a Samsung fridge that does not stay cool. It has been serviced 5 times and being serviced as I type. It has ruined my food time after time. I have taken pictures of spoiled food with good expiration dates, had my neighbor write a letter to the store stating that I have to use her fridge for produce, and I have had an electrician test my outlets to make sure it's not my house. This is a very big inconvenience to my family. The store has been through 2 managers since all this been going on and they keep brushing me to the side and ignoring the issue.
Oh, but I still have to make payments on a high end newer model fridge while most of the time it's being serviced and I have an older model. Today I paid my bill because I am a good customer and I talked to Josh the manager about a solution. He puts a store associate who is under him on the phone to deal with me. She said they could give me the old loaner fridge and I can make payments. I feel like they should look at all the trouble I have been through and at least roll all my payments over to the old ugly fridge and call it even or lower my payments since this will be an older model. She said they might be able to knock one payment off. This is such a joke! They do not care about their customers. They screw them to the wall.

They keep harassing me for one month missed payment. Threatening me with the sheriff. I have had medical issues to deal with and they said that's not their concern. Now they want the money on 7/31/15. 90.00 to be exact. They said they can't wait till I get my disability check on 8/3/15. What's wrong with that? They want two months pymt for July and August. I said the 3rd over and over again. And they still harass me. I think terror tactics is rude and I said, "If you don't stop bothering me I'll call the police." Response to that: "They'll come after you anyway. Like or not." So ** rude. I will never deal again. The Aaron's on Shelly Dr. in Indiana, PA. use scare tactics to customers. Not right to do that. They can shove that store up their butt.

This is the Ontario office on mountain. But I don't think, reading all the items, it does not make a difference which office you go to, but I was lucky. When I first started with them, I was a little unsure. Because of the way they handled the account. Hey, they erased my review. Well here it is again. This office is really bad. As mentioned they did not credit my account properly and if I would not have called to let them know when I will make the payment. Well to my surprise they had not credited all the funds. The manager jerk. (He thinks good of himself), but oh well. They called me six or seven times one day. Actually it was the second and my payment is due on the first. I mean they called and called. Machine, person three different phone numbers.
Now, when my sister came over and saw the new TV she said they are watching you. Well I laughed and not I am not. I really wish they disclosed the action before letting someone buy. That would have really changed my mind. I would never had rent/Purchased anything from the company. And the manager. Whatever his name is, he thinks too much of himself. Well this is it. I think I am at max. Now going to BBB and I already applied with the attorney for robo calling.

Then I'm going food shopping and manager of store harasses me outside the food store telling I need to make payment today when I arranged with someone else on Monday... My mother was late on a payment and so they sent a Hispanic guy to our door but my mother wasn't home. My 13 year old brother answered the door and it was this guy from Aaron's. The guy asked for my mom and at the time she wasn't home. He asked if he could come in and my brother said no. He then asked if there was an adult. My brother said "no, but my sister's here". The man asked "how old is she?" and my brother replied "16". This man then asked again if he could come in and at the same time he's trying to push his way in with his foot in the door and his hand pushing the door open. That's when I got up from the couch and helped my brother push the door closed. I felt very threatened and scared. I'm not a customer. I'm just a family member that went through a bad experience with Aaron's.

I had purchased 2 items same as cash from Aaron's in the past. I was 2 days late on my payment of an all-in-one computer. A general manager, Matt, showed up at my door. First, he proceeded to chase my cat off our property. He then shoved a "door" tag in my husband's chest and demanded to know where I was. My husband told him to leave the property and he refused. My husband called the police and he proceeded to go back out to his van and flip my husband the middle finger and drive off. It may be coincidence but our cat came back injured that evening and had to be put down. The vet said she was kicked and/or hit by a car. I am so shaken up by this that we fear this person will come back. I cannot believe that Aaron's uses downright criminal activity against customers.

The General Manager was rude me over me trying to give him information on another customer they have. I tried to work a deal out with them on my payment and Matt, the GM, was rude about it. He asked, "Well, we will talk to you about it when you come in tomorrow, when you come in to pay your payment." Also my mattress on my bed is paid for and they still keep charging me on them and the bed protectors. Also they was the cheap things I got from the bed. The frame was more than anything and that is almost paid for. Matt said they ain't also. They overcharged me on it all. I even got a rug from them that was 300 dollars. They still saying I owe on it and I've paid over 300 dollars on it now.
I don't appreciate this one bit of overpayments. I really don't like it when Matt, the gm, got rude with me over the phone. He also hung up on me. I know for sure with him working in a place like this you are supposed to have all the respect even when someone gets rude with him because I work in a public place. When he raised his voice with me my soon-to-be husband even heard it. He said, "Well, I'll talk to you when you come in and then I'll see what I can do for you all," and said, "I will not help you all out if I can't get an address from you all and get the stuff back from the people."
If I don't get what is needed from me and my whole bed, saying it’s paid for or just the mattress and mattress covers and rug, I will never go back and I'll tell everyone else not to rent to own from Aaron's because they overcharge and have really bad attitude on everything. I even say that they don’t have no respect for anyone so I want this took care of or I'm calling BBB on Aaron's in Nicholasville KY and see how that goes because I am not going to overpay and have something not even a year that was used with scratches on it and the post is coming loose now. The post don't even get touched on The bed.

I have been a long time customer of Aaron's for over 10 years, always paying my items out... same as cash. I was in the process of remodeling after downsizing and needed a Refrigerator. Having spent all available funds in remodeling and contractors... this was affordable for me. After about three weeks I started noticing that if I got up in the middle of the night roaches would be in the floor in front of the refrigerator. I didn't think much of it. Thought it may have been from the neighbors or because this was previously my rental property but had been empty for one year. I had purposely replaced all the sheetrock and insulation throughout to rid myself of potential critters. So after seeing this three different nights my husband bombed the house.
One week went by nothing. Then when opening the refrigerator they would either fall on the floor or in front of you. My husband and I spent several nights just running back to the kitchen to see how many we could kill. Brought this to Aarons attention... They sent Terminix out. Two days no roaches. Then they came back. Tonight I have literally killed 16 roaches in two hours. I cannot wait for Aarons to open in the morning and push this out the door. I will be without a refrigerator for a couple of days because I want to bomb my house before putting in a new one.
The cabinet company was suppose to be coming to install cabinets. I totally gutted the house out and I have them on hold until these roaches are gone. Aarons was fully aware when they picked this up from previous renter that they had roaches... They should have never leased this out without resolving the issue. And I am so mad cause after Terminix came and I didn't see any roaches I went to the grocery store. This good will be ruined. Aarons University Ave. Little Rock, AR.

Where do I begin? Well might as well start with the first step in the door. I took my daughter to an Arron's in Snyder texas, there was one couple in the store prior to us walking in, we got no greeting just and few sharp glances. Another couple walks in behind us and we hear a obviously fake & ill greeting. I thought maybe it was just me not hearing, maybe they didn't see us etc. We made two circles around the store, stopped in the front of the desk, the manager is standing there. No "hello, can I help you?" Nothing. I ask how much for the set in the corner and her only response was "sold." Everything we had inquired was apparently sold. Oh except for the high priced set behind the doors where nobody could see. As explained by an employee who was trying to attend to all customers. I was annoyed and simply agreed to take whatever wasn't sold.
Now we get to the paperwork. I paid 3 months ahead, and explained that I work out of town most of the time, trying to fuel my own business, and sometimes out of state. I had a house fire and had none of the documents such as check stubs, but informed the ill manager that I would have them and if ever they couldn't get a hold of me for them not to worry because I would make a payment, she simply sighed and nodded as in agreement. It took them an entire month to deliver the bed set. I had called back and forth as my work schedule allowed, and informed management that even though I was not home someone of my household would be. I waited patiently as I am an understanding human. A few months later I fell 2 months and few days behind. I made the entire payment. And now as of the 15th of july I have fallen 2 months behind, travelling with work, unable to make calls due to roaming.
On the 16th the sheriff's left a card on my door. I called Aaron's to give them as much money as I could (more than half the payment due for 2 months). Well they refused, and the general manager has yet to call me back. My elder mother called and they were rude to her. After my mother said, "Wow you're rude," the employee responded, "Well it's hard to be nice to people that don't pay their bills on time." I also found out from another customer that Aaron's had been telling every customer in town all about my account. How I was behind, how my babysitter "looks crazy."
Excuse me Aaron's in snyder but my babysitter suffers from cancer, and because I try to help everyone I come across I may not always pay my bills all the time, but I will always be nice, respectful, to everyone. I do not discriminate against anyone, late payers, cancer fighters, etc etc. I'm pretty sure god doesn't like ugly, and I refuse to be ugly to ugly. I am in the process of returning the bet set, Colortyme has agreed to match the "new" set and at half the price. And they do it with smiles and kind hearts. I may not be rich but I know what respect is worth. Also know the value of a smile. Aaron's I suggest you invest in customer service. Thank you, god bless.

I spoke to the manager, who asked me to send him a picture of the TV (never heard of that) so I said, "OK." So I phoned back to the store. Spoke with the manager once again (mind you, this is 2 hours later). I asked him if he can come out to look at the picture. His words were in this order, "Ok, ok, Ms. ** (sound with sigh!)" Mind you, hours past! Now the store have closed! Okay...
July 13,2015 -- my only alternative is to phone over head for answers! A loyal customer since 1996. Never a problem with the company until now. The store manager came out to look at the problem, to tell me he would swap out the TV and send my lease out to service! Ok the manager stated that he would call me to inform me of the problem. It's been a week... Heard nothing!!! July 17, 2015 -- called the store. Asked for the manager or accounts manager! Accounts Manager answer call to tell me that she has a customer ahead of me! No one has ever called back and they had plenty of time to get back to me!
It's July 18, 2015. I've called the store to speak to the intended manager. Receptionist answered the phone very unprofessional about my name. I've given her my last name and ask to speak to the manager named Kevin. She stated that she needed to know my name. I've been dealing with this company too long for to be played on. When I go inside the store they know who I am. When I called the store they know who I am. So why am I being talked the phone unprofessional when I want to know when will my TV be ready? Got a 60in Tv from Aaron's, had the full lease plan... With about four payments left. The TV had a problem and needed to go for repairs at the end of May. Found out that the problem was a manufacturing problem and needed to be replaced. It is now July, they say they have a used tv in the store but it has none of the features the Tv that I paid for has and the one they do have that's the exact same TV has no base and can't be delivered to us because we are not willing to wall mount it. So we have to wait.
In the meantime I am required to pay payments or lose all the money I've already paid out. And listen to them lie to me every week about having my issue resolved on delivery day (that is on a Wednesday), and every Week it's a new reason why I can't have the TV replaced. I've spoke to the regional manager and the main corporate office in Georgia and still nothing. I think they are trying to get me to pay out my loan and be stuck with their loaner.

I have never had a bad experience with Aaron's. I have been a long-standing customer since 2008. They have never harassed me or called any of my references. They have never been inappropriate with me, have always repaired things that were manufacturer defects, even advised me not to buy a particular item because they were having too many problems with the product, and told me when they get a better supplier, they would let me know. They were always courteous and helpful - no attitudes.
Of course my bill is paid on time and if I DID run into a problem, they worked with me always. I have to North Carolina and still receive the same helpful service I have always had, it seems that most of the complaints I have read stem from money issues. I have an Amana washer and dryer that pays off in Feb 2016 and it is used almost daily, never had a problem with the set. I will continue to use Aaron's as a customer and never regret it.
I have walked into the store and they have carried a TV to my car and my first payment was not due until my other payments were. So I walked out with a TV and first payment was not due for 3 or 4 weeks. I have my payment auto deduct from my account and they always took payment on my requested date. So as I said, try for yourself and see how well Aaron's can be and as a final note, once you add interest charges from other stores, it really works out to the same price and delivery is free. So as a caring customer of Aaron's, I say they are tops.

On April 1st 2015, I went to our local Aaron's to check out the used riding mowers. I was shown several and agreed to rent one to own that was listed as $695.00 cash or $108.00 for twelve months. When the mower was delivered I was not home. My first time using the mower I discovered that the protector guard was not on the mower. I called the store to alert them of this safety issue. I was told they would order me one. It is now June and still no guard. The issue I have is when I made my June payment. I read the bottom of my receipt and it indicated that this was a 24 month agreement. I called the store and talked with the manager and he told me that I had agreed to a 24 month. I told him no and asked to see my folder. After looking through my folder, there were only two pages.
I asked him what happened to the other pages. He said that this was all. I told him that was not true because I watched the salesperson staple my paperwork to a new folder. I pointed out that there were multiple staple holes and it indicated that something had been removed and replaced. I go to the store today and asked to see my folder again... Guess what? There were nine pages this time. I asked him why? He just shook his head. So I asked where was the safety guard and was told they would have to order one. I laughed and shook my head. I asked why my payments had changed from $108.00 to $84.00? He said it was because of some early payment or I had paid in advance so they took the remainder of. I asked him "do I look retarded?" He was not expecting me to question this and I have been a customer with multiple payout accounts for years.
This is sad and I can honestly say Aaron's has changed from good to the dogs. I bought a dinette table and the chair legs broke on two. One was replaced and the other one was not. That was a year and a half ago. So I am contacting an attorney after this write in and I will be filing a lawsuit for them changing my rental agreement without notifying me and trying to force a change of agreement using my signature page and added it with new ones.... I will not do business with them after this ordeal is over and would never recommend this store to anyone....RENT-A-CENTER will be my choice and I approve of this message...

On May 9th 2015, I went to Aaron's in Plainfield IN and proceeded to rent a Love Seat. The advertisement in their monthly flyer stated that the first months rental is free. However, I begin to realize that according to them the 30 days was up on June 1st 2015 and that I was instructed to pay an additional 12.62 for my payment date to be moved to the 15th of the month. First of all, 30 days free meant from May 9th -- June 8 or 9th and after that date if I wanted my due date to be the 15th of every month it should have been prorated from June 9th until the 15th of the month. So, upon making the first payment I begin to question the sales representative and he stated, (in a demeaning voice) that this is how the system is set up, as if to say that there is nothing he was going to do to correct this error. To add insult to injury I was late with my first payment - he charged me an additional $8.00 late fee with taxes adhered to the late fee as well.
I'm very upset because I DID NOT RECEIVED THE 30 DAYS OF FREE RENTAL AS PROMISED/ADVERTISED! I FEEL, THIS WAS FALSE ADVERTISEMENT AND I PAID AN ADDITIONAL $12.62 TO HAVE MY DUE DATE MOVED TO THE 15TH OF THE MONTH. I'm an unemployed educated worker and all day long this is false advertisement. I feel cheated out of 9 days not limited to being my intelligence being insulted by the customer service representative. He also had the gall to suggest to me that I could pay an additional $12.62 to have my due date move back to the first. The nerve... If you have those many deliveries, have the decency to contact the person and inform them of what's going on. Don't tie their day up with no explanation. You don't have a problem sending info on payment. The same rule should apply. Keep the customer informed. After I pay this off, I will not do business with Aaron's ever again and I will not recommend them to anyone. Truly ridiculous... Very poor business practice.

Yes I have a TV from Aaron that I am a little behind on. They pulled up as I was coming out of my apartment. I explained that I will pay them on Tuesday. And that I was on my way to work. The little ** stood behind my car and said she wasn't moving until I gave her the Tv back. I told her I was going to call the cops. She said "go ahead so I can tell them it's theft." First of all it's not theft when I'm only a few months behind. Luckily I work right across the street from my house. They then started to follow me to my job and as I opened the door they tried to pull the door open. This is harassment!!! I'm so pissed. If I lose my job I promise I will sue for harassment.

I leased a 55 inch TV from them. I had the money to purchase one new but wanted to have some positive entries on my credit report, so I went with Aaron's. I agreed to do the 6 month program and set up direct withdrawal from my account. I paid the initial payment and left with the TV, a happy customer. The following month, they did not take a payment. So I called and was told my payment was late. I advised that we had it set up for direct withdrawal. They apologized and stated that it had not been entered and took my payment. Last month the payment came out as agreed. I have checked my credit report and nothing has been reported.
I called and was told that the main office does that and sometimes they do it at 6 months and sometimes they do it at a year. In other words, I purchase a USED TV outright at new high retail price, had to call and make sure they took my money and they may or may not report it at 6 months or may or may not report it at a year. That doesn't help my credit and is not what I agreed to and not good business in my book. I told them to come get their TV and I will just buy one outright this evening, saving myself $400 dollars in the process. The initial woman who helped was very nice and promised they wanted to make me a happy customer. The manager ** was arrogant and cocky. I was told since they didn't have a box to put my purchase in I couldn't take the purchase home at that time. I was floored by the fact he walked away from me and started helping another customer. So I called rent a center right in their own showroom right in front of the manager at Aaron's and told them my problem out loud. They told me they would sell me a 60 in on the spot. 20 min later I left rent a center with my new purchase and was treated with respect. I would never ever in a million years do business with Aaron's again. I don't even know where to start, about 6 months ago, maybe longer, my children had knocked their TV over and around the same time the wood on their bunk bed had cracked, and I was just diagnosed with cancer at that time and had my 2nd foot surgery, still fighting my lawsuit for workman's comp so I didn't know what to do. Then I saw Aarons had opened a new store in Shillington Pa on Parkside ave, so I decided to check it out and I ended up getting bunk beds for them, a tv stand, also a flat screen TV and a dell tablet for my son and I told them from the get go what my income was which is only 165.00 a week from child support until I get my lawsuit settlement in June and they said that was fine.
My monthly payment was suppose to be $40 a week or $160 a month. A few weeks after I got the furniture from them my son accidentally dropped his tablet and the screen cracked so I took it back in and they had gotten a new manager there ** and he told me even though I got the warranty it wasn't covered I was upset but it's a policy so I get in my car to leave and as soon as I pull out of the parking lot my cell phone rang. I didn't recognize the number but I answered anyway, and It just happened to be ** the manager of Aarons. He started off by telling me he has a friend not far from here maybe 10 min or so who fixes tablets and proceeded to tell me he'd love to pick me up and take me over (mind you I got remarried 4yrs ago) and he knew that because my husband came with me in the store already and made some payments for me when I was hospitalized, and he continued with the calls and inappropriate comments continued.
He must've used each one of his employees cell phones to call me from just so I'd answer and ever since then he's been blocking his number so it shows up as restricted, I answered only one of the restricted numbers and he told me that the tablet was paid off. I just needed to take continue to pay on the beds TV and TV stand and I need to keep in touch with him and then started talking inappropriate so I hung. Maybe 15 min went by and I was actually outside of my house me and my children were getting ready to leave and he comes walking up and telling him I need to answer or return calls to let them know if I'm going to miss a payment for a week and pay double the following week, and then looks at my kids and asked if they were half Puerto Rican. I said yes and he replied "oh so that means you like dark skin men huh?"
I said no my husband now is white and I quickly called Aarons to see if there was someone I could talk to and I spoke with **. I think he was another manager so I explained everything to him and also told him all about this situation. He said he'd take care of it and make sure he didn't contact me anymore. Well I guess whatever he said to him when he got back to the store made him mad and the following day ** was knocking on my door. I hid in my house till he left and he left a note on my door that said if I don't "speak" with him by the next day he will get the cops.
I told him I already spoke with ** and he said it was OK to make a double payment next week and also if there's ever a time I can't pay or if I can only make a partial payment just to call and let him know what's going on. So anyway about 4 weeks ago I was just fed up with the harassment from ** the manager so I told him to have them come pick the TV and TV stand up. I'd just keep the tablet because it was broken and they couldn't take it back and the bunk beds because I didn't want my kids to not have beds, so they sent ONE guy out to pick the stuff up.
The TV stand was huge, made of real wood. He couldn't lift it himself and this was like 2 weeks after my 3rd foot surgery and my husband was at work so I had to help him, needless to say I ended up in urgent care and the xray showed I broke one of the screws in my foot. I see my surgeon again in two days. So 4 days ago me and my husband were home and we had a knock on my door and once again it was ** the same manager so we didn't answer. I was really fed up at that point and decided I was not making any more payments so I called a different Aarons office to get ahold of the regional manager. He's supposed to be calling me today, then two days ago ** kept calling me and all the references on my application over and over so finally my husband called him on his personal cell phone and he lied and told my husband his name was ** and he had the wrong number.
So I double checked the number and it was right so I called back and he didn't answer so I left a voicemail and said "hey ** it's me. I just got home. My brother said you left a note on the door so call me back when you have time." It took one minute for him to call back. I answered and said "hi is this ** from Aarons." He said yes then I handed my phone to my husband and my husband completely went off on him and told him to "pick up the bunk beds on Friday because we are using the money we owe you to buy new beds." Then ** from Aarons said "if you don't pay by today I'll have police out there tomorrow to take it back." My husband said "fine!!! Don't come till 2 pm until I'm home from work because you're not dealing with my wife."
Well I had just gotten home from seeing my oncologist at 12:30 and Aarons was already there waiting!!!!! Aaron's was the closest and I had a family member that had furnished her entire house over the years from them so figured it was worth a shot...needless to say, my child was thrilled Christmas morning.
Yes, overall cost is much higher than elsewhere, and there's been a few times where no one could explain why my payment was 15-20$ more than it was supposed to be (always when I paid online, never in the store) and I had a rep get really rude when I called about the controller quit working after only a month, that's the reason for 4 stars instead of 5. But overall I have no problems, no harassing calls as long as my payment isn't later than 3-4 days.
So anyways, just wanted to share my experience for anyone one the fence and scared off by all the bad...don't get more than you can afford in payments (be it monthly or more often), and keep current on payments and your experience will be a good one. And to everyone thinking to themselves "that's not what Christmas is about"...yes, you are right. But my daughter works hard, is a gifted student, and rarely asks for anything. They will not accept checks or debit cards. I had good credit but had been out of work so I decided to try their service. Do not use this service. After making payments on the account, Aaron's advised that I now owed twice the amount of the television.
They dunned my phone up to 15 times per week. They called my father and advised him that I owed hundreds of dollars to them. My father paid them $80 that was never posted to my account. I needed to keep my credit good, but I got so fed up with Aaron's that I told them to not contact me again. They continued to call my phone from early in the morning into the night.
They removed my account online so I could not make a payment and was forced to deal with them on the phone. They advised to send in the payment of close to another $400 on top of what I paid. They never sent any valid information as to how they came up with this ridiculous amount of money. If I paid the account on the 1st, they would then call back a couple of weeks later saying I owed another payment.
They have now ruined my credit. When I tried to make the payment with my credit card over the phone after I was told they would not accept my check, they also advised they would not send me any receipt or update the information with the credit bureaus. It is unfortunate that Aaron's will never get any further business from me. I would never recommend doing business with them because they are scammers. I don't know where they find their employees but they need to look elsewhere. Rude as hell, disrespectful, impatient and just plain dumb.
I will never...... EVER go to Aaron's again in my life. Now will I recommended this ** place to anybody I know. I rather send them to RENT A CENTER!!!! Corporate needs to do something about their stores and their business. This is the Aaron's store I went to: Greenwood Shopping Center 3471 S Congress Ave, Palm Springs, FL 33461.

I have been with Aaron’s for almost a yr now and this is the worst company I have ever dealt with. First of all, I went in the store after signing up online for a special they were running. The employees were loud and disrespectful talking to each other as if they were home and not at work. Once I got to the store I was told they had no record of the bedroom set I wanted. So I was offered something else which I took. I was told to inspect the bed which I did to the best of my ability considering that the whole set was crammed in a corner. I set up my payment date for the 15th of each month and I paid them. This was on the 26th on the month I applied.
My furniture was delivered at 9pm the next night. Once I received I realized it wasn't the bed I ordered online or the 1 saw inside the store. My drawers had tears in them and I had a drawer that wouldn't open. I called immediately and was told that he would call the next and try to get it fixed. I called him 2 days later and I was furious. He then tells me they no longer make the bed I had so no spare parts. On top of that I was told I had to make another full payment on the 1st even though I had just paid 3 days prior and my date was set for the 1st not the 15th. I called corporate and the regional manager was very nice and he arranged to have it fixed. It got fixed so I decided to get a PS3. They gave me the most ragged console they had and there was no cord for the controller. When I asked about it I was told that she didn't think it ever had a cord which is strange because how else would I charge it?
I bought a cord with my own money and the controller was broken so I ended up buying another controller... Last week 3 drawers fell off my dresser... They are extremely unprofessional. They call me the minute they open on the 15th which makes me mad because I have until the time they close and it's always like your payment is due like I don't already know that. Then they are like "Well what's your card number?” without me even suggesting paying via card. They call and harass me so much I changed my number. Well they decided to send the goons after me but when they usually come over I'm at work but my neighbor has called me at work telling me they are beating on the door so hard it shakes her walls and also that they knock for at least 15 mins. I've come home and as a result of them beating on my door I have lost 6 glass pics off my wall...
I spoke with someone who came to my house and the manager asked to speak to me. I told him I no longer wish to deal with them and they could come pick it up 2 days later because I would be off work. We spoke on my account and all was good. Well today I get a certified letter from them telling me that they will press charges on me AFTER we talked. So I called the store and I told them if they didn't get their merchandise out of my house tonight I would be putting it by the side of the road. I've had late fees that have almost doubled the cost of the monthly bill. I'm sick of it. I don't want ANYTHING from Aaron’s. They can get it. I should charge them storage fees. But I'll update and let everyone know whether or not they came and got it or not...
Word to wise... Aaron’s employees are real nice to you on your first visit. After that it goes downhill. They are money hungry, manipulative people. Also dirty. I had to thoroughly clean the furniture because of dirt and dust. I even found the bank statement of the person who had it before tuck under the drawer of the nightstand along with food wrappers and a condom. That was very disturbing! They could have at least attempted to clean it first...I REALLY DISLIKE AARON’S!!!

Myself and my husband rented living room furniture, a TV and bedroom set. We paid over 4,000 dollars on it. On the original application it was my name and husband as co-applicant. After 13 months of payments my husband left the home and his last payment they gave back to him. They sent me a letter saying I owe 2000.00, the remainder of contract. Now they are harassing me, my family and friends because they decided to give my husband back all the money from the 13 months!! They also refused to put the account in my married name - said they couldn't and have it in my maiden name.
Now they are trying to get all the money from me since day one. Their cheap furniture wasn't worth 1000 never mind 6000. Now I get 20 calls a day and them pounding on my doors, looking in my Windows and trying to get in. Thankfully I have a loving pit that won't let them in. How do they give it all back and expect me to pay again? That's their problem. They dropped the ball and wanna give him back the money. Half that was my money. We were married and still are. No divorce, legal separation or anything. They are rude and very unprofessional.

My grandmother and I have both done business with Aaron's here in La Junta, Colorado. I myself have bought a $900 fridge and a $1,200 laptop - never missed a payment and paid it off in the 120 days same as cash. My Grandmother has purchased a living room set, bedroom set and now a freezer. Well when we went into the store to lease a freezer one of the workers that had given my grandmother the paperwork kept staring at me and finally he said, "You look familiar" and I responded "Well my brother, sister, mother and myself have all purchased items from the store" and then he asked who my mother was and I told him her name and he said, "Ohhh ok." I have lived with my grandmother most of my life not with my mother.
Well they delivered the freezer and my grandmother was inside and I was outside working in the yard when my grandmother called me inside. They had gone from the dining room where they placed the freezer into our living room, without even asking my grandmother for permission, and they were looking at my mother's TV that she had brought to my grandmother's after splitting up with my stepfather. Well they informed us that the TV has not been paid for and that it is considered stolen merchandise so they have to take it. My grandmother and I did not put up an argument. We let them take the TV with no problem and then after a while the police showed up and was talking to the delivery men for a few minutes and then they both left.
Well I called Aaron's after they left and I asked them if I myself could lease out the TV since I had my Netflix, Hulu and YouTube accounts already set up on it and come on it was a 60" smart TV - who wouldn't want to keep it? Well then they said they would have to wait for their regional manager to come in and clear things up before that could happen but they would call back and let me know when I could lease it so they took my name and number down. The next day I called and they said the manager was not in... about a week later I give up on getting the TV and I go in to look at different TV's. Well I see one that I like and ask the two ladies at the front desk if I can get it and they said that I would have to wait until the manager came in talk to him and then it would have to process before I could get it so again they took my name and number and I left.
The next day I called and they transferred me to the manager and he said they had to wait for the regional manager to come in and clear it up because the TV was found at our house so they could not lease me anything until then that he would be in the next day. Well I call back the day after the regional manager went in and again they transfer me to the manager and he said that they could no longer lease to me or my mother. I asked why me and he said because that's what the regional manager decided. I told him I did not even know the TV was from Aaron's - that we were told my stepdad bought it for my mother and then I asked him if I was no longer allowed to lease from their store if they were going to come and pick up the freezer that my grandmother just leased since she also lives here and he said, "Well she would have to call us and talk to us about it."
So I hung up the phone and then told my grandmother to call them and tell them to come and pick up their freezer. My grandmother was very upset. She called and told them that we have both purchased items from them before with no problems and if this is what they were going to do they could come and pick up their freezer because she no longer wants it and they told her in order for them to do that they would need more money. She informed them that she had already made first month's payment and she has only had it for about two weeks that she would not make another payment and then I could hear him tell her that if we wanted a TV she could put it under her name and she asked why I was no longer allowed to lease and then I could hear him say because I knew my mother had not paid for the TV. So I grabbed the phone.
I was very upset at that time and I said some curse words. He said not to curse at him and I told him I would curse at him if I wanted to curse at him. Well then I continued to tell him that I had no idea that the TV was from Aaron's and the last I knew was that my stepfather had purchased it for my mother and he said the two delivery men had said that I knew it wasn't paid for and also the worker I had called to ask if I could lease it said that I called to make a payment because I knew it wasn't paid for. I said "No that is not how it happened," that they came in to deliver the freezer and then walked into our living room without permission and then they told us it was from their store, it had not been paid for and it was considered stolen merchandise and they had to take it. He then continued to say with or without my grandmother's permission they were going to take the TV back that they could have had the police come first.
I told him that's how it should have happened - the police officer should have came to our door and let us know what was happening before their workers decided to walk around the house looking around when they had no business doing so without my grandmother's or my permission. He then said he did not have the cops come because my grandmother has been a good consumer so they did it out of respect for her. I told him the police came anyway afterwards they were sitting out in front of our house and then I asked, "Am I not a good customer? Did I not buy a $1,200 computer, did I not buy a $900 fridge and was I not just trying to lease a $2500 TV???"
I then told him when I called afterwards it wasn't to make a payment - it was to ask if I could lease the damn TV myself because all of my accounts were hooked to it and I liked it and they took my name and number and said they would call me back which nobody ever did. I had to keep calling your store to stay updated. He then asked me my name and I gave it to him and he said "Well the way the workers that day were making it sound was that you knew the TV was from here and it hadn't been paid for but I will call my regional manager and have him call you and we will get this cleared up today." I said thank you and hung up expecting a call... It's been four days and I have not received a call.

I've had problems with Aaron's the past couple months about my laptop that supposedly went in for repair (I was told the laptop was still under warranty, to go to the HP company and be repaired with parts but not under warranty to be replaced as new... It never went to HP...). I went back in yesterday to ask once again where the laptop was (I've been in/called about 10 times now over the course of 3 months... Repair was only suppose to take 3 weeks). Of course, the same response of "I don't know, I don't know," was repeated. I asked for the technician's number (where they "supposedly" sent it and who also had damaged a brand new screen I had bought for the laptop in the first repair/replacement which was offered to be done for free by the original Aaron's manager) so I could contact him and get the laptop back myself. They denied giving me the number since it was his "personal cell number."
Apparently this technician doesn't have a work phone/ business or work for Aaron's... It seems he has just taken it to his home and it's now stolen or broke. The actual manager of Aaron's wouldn't come out to talk to me. He sat in the back office, but now the General Sales Manager was bribing me with the option of a new laptop off the floor. They have already told me that my laptop was no longer being supported at the Aaron's business in general anymore (HP Envy DV7), and the rest of the laptops are all of lesser value and cheap ** than mine was. He still wants me to pay out the full price for my nice laptop even with the credit to completely cover one of the cheaper ones...

We have rented from them several times in the past. We had ok luck with them. We gave back a couch once because within a week, the pillows you lean against for back support were flat and uncomfortable, but we didn't freak out, we just gave it back. Recently our washer went out, so we went and got a new set of washer and dryer from them here in Salem, Oregon. We had them maybe 6 weeks when we started noticing small holes in the clothes, LOL, like a mouse got them! We couldn't figure it out, then we got some big holes. We narrowed it down to the washing machine (because I don't dry my shirts, I hang dry them and they had holes all in them, along with my husband's).
I called them immediately, they sent someone out that day. It was 2 of their employees, they stuck their hand inside and said their was a very bad jagged edge, so the one employee took out his knife and cut it all off. They said it should be fine. We went that weekend and purchased new work clothes for my husband and I picked up a couple of new shirts. Before we wore them, we washed them! MISTAKE. We pulled them out with holes, the size of your head! I called them immediately, they sent someone out the next business day. The manager told us that the washing machine could not have done that. We showed them the clothes, even my wet clothes. So they took it back to their shop and gave us a loaner. A repair tech fixed it, they told us he took one look at it and knew what was wrong. We got it back within a week. My husband asked the manager what they were going to do about the clothes, he said he would figure it out.
I talked to him a week or two later, I said we were fine if they just put two months of payments towards the account (since there were 30-40 items ruined). I took pictures of all of them and sent them to the manager. He said they couldn't do that, I had to file a claim and he would get the company to send me a claim form. He said he had pictures of all the items. I asked if we needed to save the clothes. He said no since he had personally seen them and had pictures. I never heard from anyone. Each month I personally go in and make my payment so I can talk to him, same story - he doesn't know why, it just takes time. Four months later, I went in and made the payment, he was out on vacation. I left a message with an employee that if we didn't get paperwork or they do something about this, that I am getting an attorney. That employee offered me one month free right then. I told him no, I would wait for the manager.
The manager got back and called and said he would have them mail it out. I got the form today. What a joke, it's from the maker of the washing machine company. On the form, it says you have to have the part that was defective (I called them, they don't have it), you have to have pictures of the destroyed items (good to go), but you also have to have the items themselves, and they will have to get a report from their repairman. Also the process will take quite some time!
I called the manager, told him. He said he would see what he could do, which means nothing! I told him that as one professional to another, they dropped the ball. We are excellent customers, always pay on time, they never call us. He said it because we are such good customers! Yet they could have just credited our account and made us feel like we were important. They don't care! I told him we won't buy from them again, they should have made it right. Two of my shirts alone were $45 each, brand new. We weren't trying to get cash, just somebody to take responsibility for the loss. If we had to replace the clothes, it would easily be 400-500.

Nope, but hey they come to my house every Saturday to try and collect for the crap that was paid for and don't work.
Also one of the male employees has walked in my home without knocking 3 different time only to meet him in my hallway as I'm coming from my restroom. Pissed, totally. I told the pervert if he ever walked in my home again he best hope I just call the law. Muskogee Oklahoma is the store I have had the regret in doing business with but my thing I have paid all my payments and they’re still telling my daughter they’re going to file charges against me. Any help would be wonderful.

I have a washer and dryer (along with many other things) through Aaron and my dryer stopped working...won't even turn on. I call the store manager ** at the Porter, Texas location, and of course he's busy. I leave a message for him to call me back...No call back. I show up at the store the next day just for him to tell me he was too busy yesterday and forgot about it, and instead of taking care of it he says he will do it later. And he didn't! This has been going on for a week and he still has yet to call and have someone fix my dryer. If these managers are too busy to take care of their customers, why are the stores open?

We rented furniture from aaron's in mid November 2014. We had a ton of issues with meeting up for delivery. I paid two weeks before I ever received any of the three pieces. We ordered two chairs and a couch. Never saw the couch - it was not in stock. They showed us a comparable couch for six purposes. When the furniture arrived it looked beautiful. The chairs recline electronically and one was broke. Within two days we called and let them know. We wanted it gone. The whole set was much larger than we were told and shown at the store. The fact the chair did not work when it was brand new was to me a lemon and I did not want it.
We liked the look of the furniture so despite the oversize we kept it first month. It was fine then one of the chairs he the stuffing coming out the back!!!!! We had to push it in all the time. Next the couch was flat - yes within two months that is how poor the quality is. It took some convincing from my boyfriend because he is into furniture and durability more so than me. So. A month later when I felt like I was sitting on a board I knew it was time to stop wasting money. Mind you we had to buy something used within a two month rental payment budget. The point was to keep this furniture when we rented it but due to poor quality on all three pieces we sent it back.
Now I get a bill because they say they have a minimum four month rental term? I will never pay it and I will never rent from them again and now I won't be quiet. I will spread my story and there is more about the awful customer service and unknowledgable staff. I have specific stories and the shady four month lease minimum. If you have poor quality for furniture then that should not be rented at all. That is a total scam to people that have less and are putting their life savings into renting something they think is nice. The quality of their own aaron's brand furniture which is all they sell should be looked into. Right away we had problems and by three months you would think our furniture was 5 years old.

I purchased a laptop from Aarons. A few months into the contract the screen was damaged. I took the computer into the store to show them and I had to pay $135 to have it sent out for repair. I was given a loaner computer to use. I had the loaner for 6-7 months. The computer was paid off and I was advised I had to return the loaner and pick up my computer. They came to my door and demanded the loaner computer with no notice so I did not even have time to get my personal information off of the computer. I was advised I had to go to the store to pick up my computer.
When I arrived I was handed my computer with no battery. The staff proceeded to tell me that it was sent out with no battery and that I took the battery home with me. No. That did not happen. I messaged them on 12/29 and was responded to with a message stating that they would look into this as I had requested a copy of any paperwork that I signed stating the computer was left with them with no battery. I have not heard back from them in any way, shape or form. I received a message back that they would look into again. I paid $1200 for a laptop that now has no battery. I will be filing a complaint with the BBB.

Today I get a call - Aaron's in Brady Texas wanting me to make a payment on mattress sent that I have rented for 69 dollars a month. They call me on the first of every month telling me my payment is due. I have already paid off a washer and dryer and a sofa and love seat that was torn under the cushions. I told the accounts manager that I was tired of getting these phone calls. I have my account set up to have the payment taken out of my bank account on the 4th of every month.
Another manager got on the phone and told me if talk rude to him, he would come to my apartment so fast and take my bed. I wanted them to take my bed anyway. He said, "You won't cuss me." I didn't cuss anyone. I took this as a threat. I have to tell you he made me feel so angry. He said he would come and get it. I told him, "Come and get this shoddy piece of crap bed." I told him watch who make threats against. I demand my money back on every item. I did not miss payments and I refuse to be treated like an idiot.

I have finish paying it off and still going through issues.
I feel like it a black thing in my eyes, or the fact that they got my money so there's no need to deal with my issues. They now gave me a loaner with the wrong charger. When I told them they said they would have someone drop it off from 4 o'clock on March 3rd, 2015, and it is now 7:37...no cord. But yet alone, if I was still purchasing their stuff, then I would have gotten help or maybe if I was Spanish or white. When told them I no longer wanted it was told lost my payment I put in it and I had to keep it so I refused to keep it and called district manager for ft myers store. Thought he was taking care of issue so yesterday they came without calling to pick up TV, two guys. Didn't park in driveway as usual. They rang door bell, my mom answered. Told them I wasn't home and give her a min. My boyfriend and her took TV to door. They demanded she plug up TV to prove it worked. I told her tell them no, to take TV and leave.
So for an hr they're at my door. My boyfriend goes to door after they rang door bell again and he tells them there's nothing wrong with TV and to get it and leave. If they leave it we're not responsible so they continue. Finally I get mad, go to door and tell them if they don't take TV I'm going to call police have them put off my property. They have TV, take it and leave. Tell them 8 times. Same thing. Took pics as proof. They were rude and it was inappropriate unprofessional. Of them trying to claim TV was broken etc and nothing was wrong with it and they were rude, disrespectful. It's not first time. I wouldn't recommend Aaron's to anyone. It's a rip off. I have made a few different furniture purchases over the years from Aaron's, both 'renting' and buying outright. No complaints with the service, it's very easy and customer friendly, overall. A couple of things to keep in mind: Furniture is flimsy and cheaply made. If you are looking for strong furniture that will last for years, this is not the place to buy from. Shelf life of Aaron's furniture is generally 2-3 years with average, everyday use. If you have children or use your furniture frequently, you'll probably be needing furniture again in 6mos to 1.5 years.
The bones (wood) on the inside of the furniture is the lightweight, flimsy kind of wood often used on pallets. The stuffing and cushions wear quickly. Every piece of Aaron's furniture I have owned have had the couch cushions break down on the back side so that the cushions constantly slide forward, leaving a gap in the back of the couch. There is often a long wait for deliveries after purchasing items at Aaron's. My shortest wait was 4 days, longest was 9. This kinda sucks when you're super excited to get your new items home and being using them.

I had a missed call from them 2 minutes before the charge was put through. They reversed the charge, but it had caused several transactions to bounce. It took 5 days for the refund to process. I have not been able to pay this month because of that and I've been harassed by them at least twice daily.

I went to Aarons to buy a Samsung tablet at Aaron's in Marksville Louisiana. And yes I went to Aarons because after going through a divorce, my credit was demolished. Just because someone has bad credit doesn't mean they are trash. So getting back to the story. I chose a Samsung Tab 10. The 90 days same as cash price was around $500 which was about normal price. But I wasn't able to buy it cash at the time so I had to pay by the month. My payments were around $75 a month for 12 months.
I'm not really mad at them because I already knew before I walked in that it would cost me more than it was worth but anyway, a $500 tablet cost me $1,100. What makes me mad is how can the government or the BBB let these companies do this to people that is a 100% mark up. That kind of sounds like price gouging? Yes I agree that if a person messes up their credit there should be some consequences but this is ridiculous! Well it was a lesson learned. Next time I will do without and save my money and buy it cash because Aaron's will never see me again. So anyone thinking of buying from Aaron's, look at the price then add up the payments and I guarantee you will be paying at least double what the item cost.

First off the Lee's Summit, Missouri location is ridiculous! They sent 2 men out to deliver my things and 1 of them stole my smart watch that was over 200 dollars. The reason why I'm 100% sure is because I had just moved my watch when they got here and then as soon as they left then it was gone. They even admitted to 1 of the guys being new. What did they do just asked, Hey did you take a watch?" (now who's going to admit to that). Don't trust them in your home especially from this location. If you want to know a name I will be more than happy to give that as well.
2nd problem they hooked up our dryer wrong and completely melted our electrical device where it won't work and messed up the electrical severely. This isn't the first time. Our landlord said they did the exact same thing to another tenant's place when hooking theirs up as well. They overcharge you and then won't do anything when they ** up. I wouldn't recommend this place to someone I even hate. This location is so horrible they steal from you and then mess your stuff up and don't even give a damn. I have offered to make partial payments in the past or told them full payment could be paid on certain dates only to have them reply with an attitude and "that's not good enough"!
Now we are out of town dealing with our family issues and our kids are at home to continue going to school and these idiots are stopping by pounding on the door like police with search warrant type pounding and looking in windows even trying to open the door!!! They are not in Aaron's vehicles and the people are not clothed in Aaron's uniforms even! How is anyone to know who these clowns are?! We don't even have a phone right now because things are so bad and so cannot call these guys but have tried to contact through email and social media all to no avail. We have even told them if they do it again we have instructed the kids to call 911 if they try to open the door or bang on or peek in windows.
They can't seem to figure out that there is no one there to speak with them and have a need to try and strongarm and scare people into doing what they want. Now we have to return home when we are needed elsewhere just so I can return their crap or find a way to pay what we owe. Why wouldn't they want us to pay it off even if it was late instead of losing a customer? Sounds like they are pros at selling the same equipment 3 or 4 times for a huge profit. Then Aaron's told us that the furniture we ordered was on backorder. We waited while sitting on our lawn chairs. When the furniture finally arrived it was damaged. Obviously, used.

At first without noticing, we were really happy until we found that the door was not closing right, and that the insulation was all damaged. We reported this several times and even held payment. Well, here the story goes....after them coming out and replacing them 3 times (twice because an employee was so large he dented the machine on two different occasions), I finally decided to go with a different brand because all of their samsungs were damaged. OK, now it sounds like a freight train running thru my house and I called and talked to 2 diff. managers (both no longer work there) and the problem still exists (mind you, all my payments are current), then I have a tv I got from them, supposed to be brand new, and when they showed up with it, there was no box or clear cover as it was a demo that was hanging in their store. SHEEZ, well after some time, the tv starting making cracking noises and I called them 10 different times to address this and no one will call me back.
Now the tv overheated and cracked and the washer/dryer set took a dump, I just hauled all the items back to the store and left them out front of their store and called and told an employee about it and now they are calling every 30 minutes for the last week (no joke). I refuse to ever talk to them again since they sold me used crap and I paid way more in payments so far (I over pay every month), that I have just wasted time and money and should have just gotten the stuff elsewhere. Place a police report and allow Aarons to know what's going on. They say you are still responsible for the tv. I said no problem. After not having the tv for 6 months I then decided what is the point of paying them when there's no insurance even though when I sign up that was something I was paying extra for.
I then stop making payments. They call and call and call. I finally answer to ask them if I'm gonna be allowed a new tv. I was informed no, not until payment is made. So I made the payment they wanted just so I can get another tv. Every time I called they put me on hold for a long time so I hang up and call again. They say the same. So now I'm mad. So me and my fiance took it back. They gave us full store credit for the laptop which wind up being around $550. So we got a Dell tablet and a Blu Ray player, which was nearly covered by the full credit we received. But then they said we needed to finish out the contract in 6 months (as of now we have to done paid around a $100 which would have taken care of the remaining amount) and we haven't been able to pay on time so they threatened to come out here to our house.
I'm not sure what they would take since everything was paid for, so we have nothing of theirs for them to take. They have been nothing but rude since our account had been moved to another store because the one we started with closed down. Not sure what to do, we've called corporate but that didn't get anything settled. Never buying anything from there again.

My husband and I and two children had just moved back after hurricane Katrina dec 2007 and we needed our entire house furnished since we had nothing. We went to the pass road Aaron's and picked out furniture for 3 bedrooms, living room and kitchen table and washer and dryer. The employees and manager were very kind and accommodating. We were able to move in our home fully furnished where the kids and ourselves had what we needed. The kids were able to feel secure and proud of their home.
It has been 7 years since and we still have the good quality furniture and we paid off all of our furniture within a year.
If it wasn't for Aaron's rent to own furniture it would have taken a long time to buy each piece of furniture. However Aaron's made it possible for us to have a real home and a happy family. If there were ever a company I would recommend when you needed them the most it's Aaron's rent to own. By the way I never ever take the time to do these consumer reviews; but if it wasn't for this company we would have had an empty house and when you have kids this made a huge difference and made our children feel secure being that we had been through such a tragedy that has effected us forever (hurricane Katrina).
Aaron's rent to own help make our family stronger and our first Christmas in our new home since Katrina a happy one that will forever be stamped in our memory. So thank you Aaron's rent to own. There are not enough thank yous to express our gratitude. Yes this company. Does have heart. Thank you Aaron's!!!

I went to Aaron's to get a 55' smart TV. I was excited. Went through the paperwork and signing the contract like normal. I was informed that at the 3 month of not making a payment they would pick up the item. Not a problem. I also made the arrangement to have my bill be due the 15th of the month. The first of the very next month, which was less than 2 weeks later; I started receiving phone calls about the TV. Thinking that I must have misunderstood I went ahead and made a payment. But also clarifying that in fact it is due on the 15th. So the first of the next month comes and they started calling again. Not just 1-2 times a day, but more like 15 times. Then by the 5th of the same month they were at my door to collect the TV.
At this point my payment is not even due. The two guys who were at my door pounded on my door and was extremely rude. After proving to them and being on the phone with their office for 30 minutes, they finally admitted they were wrong. Then with the holidays and some financial issues I have been late with my payments. I have no problem paying a late fee when I'm late. Well the day after my payment was due, I received 20 phone calls in under 10 minutes. I had informed them that my payment was going to be late before it was even close to being due. When I went in the office to make my payment the boy who was calling me got in my face telling me how I need to answer my phone and pay my bill. If I would just pay my bill then he wouldn't have to call me like that. He is standing next to the manager while he is telling me this.
The next month was Christmas I was again late, no issue there. Like I said before, I know when I'm late and I will pay their fee. Well my payment was due and they said they are going to have to pick up my TV. When I told them no and I was told that would not happen until the third month and informed them I would pay them as soon as I could, he began to be rude and so I told him I don't appreciate this and I am done talking. I hung up and he had the manager call me stating I'm misunderstanding the way things work. I've only had the TV for 4 months now. As soon as I am able to get a new TV I'm getting rid of this headache and constant stress.

If anyone is using Aarons to establish credit you're wasting your money. After assuring me that they would report to credit agency they did not. Informed them that I was trying to establish a good payment history before I started. My wife and I were on a three-year plan to buy a home. I have paid cash for everything for the last 10 years and had no debt (or credit history). I purchased high dollar Samsung washer and dryer. Paid every payment ahead of time. When 3 payments were left I asked them if they had been reporting to the credit companies. Manager said they only report after it's paid off so I paid it off then and there.
Now I get my reports and there's nothing on there. I call and then go to the store and I am told that they don't report credit. That was 2 years wasted and about $2,000 more than I could have bought elsewhere. I have to blame myself I should have researched it better. I really hope this helps somebody else. I'm just sick that all the effort was for nothing. I'm almost 60 years old. Two years is a long time for someone at the end of their life. Go to Conn's instead - they report and are actually cheaper and have better furniture, which is always new and not used like Aarons. Do not believe anything they say at Aarons. They will say anything to get you to sign a contract. They are totally cold blooded even more than a banker.

I went in to Aarons a couple weeks ago to order a bunk bed set for my sons. It was to be delivered the next Friday. I got a call Friday saying that the truck they had was in a wreck and they could not open the door and that my bunk beds were in there. Apparently the wreck happened Wednesday and I wasn't notified until the time frame they were scheduled to be delivered. I finally had them delivered and set up yesterday, Wednesday. The boys who delivered left trash in my yard that I cleaned up. The trundle drawers underneath the bottom bunk were completely broken. They said they would replace the drawers with what they have on the floor. I was told repeatedly this is a new set. There are scuff marks all over it and scratches.
The guys who set it up asked to borrow one of my kitchen knives, dropped it on my floor and now there's a huge scratch in my new hardwood floor. I have an agreement for two years. I chose to rent so I could have it nicely reflect on my credit score, but I'm considering paying this off in March. I also had one twin mattress delivered which was supposed to be new and was told it was put on my receipt as pre-leased for "system" purposes. When I looked at the mattress, they had covered it in a bed bug proof mattress cover. We do not have bed bugs but if this mattress brings them in I will sue. I included a picture of trash they left I just found under the bed.

I will never ever ever ever darken your door again and you can just quit getting my business altogether. I will dissuade every person I know from ever doing business with you or any of your subsidiaries as well. After 4 years of contracts and payments I had to call and request that my next payment be moved until 1/29 because my grandpa died this morning and I needed to use my money to go to his funeral. Even though I would be making a full payment at that time and I have been on contract for 4+ years and have successfully paid some items off, I was told that was not possible. Couch was delivered with damaged cushion. Guarantees were made that it would be fixed. Over a year later, it is still not repaired. My daughter originally got the furniture set from Aaron's in North Richland Hills, TX. The couch was delivered with a damaged cushion. She was told by Josh (Store Mgr) that there was a new cushion on order and that it would arrive in 2 weeks. Six months and many phone calls later, it was still not repaired. My daughter was in the process of moving and decided she did not want the furniture anymore so my husband and I took over her account. I was then told by Josh that the cushion would be replaced when the furniture was picked up from her apartment and delivered to my house. This did not happen.
When I called to inquire why the repair was not made, I was told that the cushion had been ordered in the wrong color so they had to reorder and that it would be repaired in two weeks. I then informed them that one of the recliner ends was in need of repair due to it catching and not opening and closing correctly. The following week, a repair guy came out and partially fixed it. I asked him if he knew about the cushion repair. He said no but that he would look at it. I informed him of what Josh had told me about it coming in the wrong color so they had to reorder. The repair guy then tells me that it doesn't matter what color the cushion is because it slides in under the leather material.
A month later, when they called for payment, I asked again about the cushion. I was told it still had not come in but that it would be there in 2 weeks. A month later, they again called for payment and I again asked about the cushion. Josh told me that he would look into it and call me back with a date for repair, this never happened. A month later, they again called for payment. I refused until repair was made. I was told it would be 2 weeks. Again, never it happened. A month later I get a call from someone new wanting to collect payment, I then tell her that I will not be making a payment until repairs are made and that this game is getting really old. She then asks me to explain from the beginning what has been going on (because there were no notes on the account and no repair order placed) and that she is in town from Corporate to assist for that week. I explain everything and she says that she will personally handle things and call me back with an update.
Two days later she called to inform me that she had personally ordered the cushion and that it would be repaired in 2 weeks. Again, it never happened and the store stopped calling for payment. My husband and I then decided that we would visit our local Irving store for a new TV. While there we were told that we could only be approved if our other account was up to date. I then called the other store and asked to talk to Josh. I was told that he was on vacation. I made a payment (leaving only ONE partial payment left) and informed them that Josh needed to call me the following Monday to get the couch issue resolved and that I will make no other payments until it is done. We get our TV and go on about our day.
A month later I get a call from Chris (NEW Store Mgr) wanting payment. I tell Chris that there will be no more payments until repairs are made. He asks for me to fill him in as to what the issues are because there are no notes on the account and no work orders have been submitted. I once again explain everything and add to the list that the recliner is still broke and there is a hole in the center seat material that needs repair and the wood frame cracked. Chris then tells me that there are a lot of complaints left over from when Josh was in charge and that he will get everything handled.
A month later, Chris calls for payment, I refuse. A month later, Chris calls to inform me that there is still no cushion that has come in but they have a used one from another customer that they can use. I agree, repairs guys show up, it's a partial cushion and they were not told about the recliner or the hole. Chris then calls to tell me that they are going to just write off our account.

My recent experience with Aaron's Rentals was very disturbing. I was very excited with my new items that I leased through Aaron's, after my credit had taken a hard blow due to some medical bills from my recent illness. I am handicap, and I am in a wheelchair. I have an extra wide wheelchair and one day before my nurse had arrived to help me for the day, I was trying to get over to my toilet, and one of my wheelchair wheels had knocked the lower side corner of my TV and knocked it down. My TV screen shattered in the top corner. I immediately called my Aaron's store, and explained to their manager what had happened, and asked what my options were at that point. Even if that meant me paying out of pocket to repair the damages, I had no problem doing so because it was my fault even though it was very unintentional and an accident.
Instead of helping me resolve the issue, this manager insulted me, yelled at me, and then hung up on me before I could even respond. They sent their drivers to my home one day, and the driver banged on my window and was yelling through my window at my home health nurse. She of course, did not open the door because she was not allowed to do that unless she was relieving another nurse, and at this point it had frightened us both so I did not want her to open the door either. The driver then went back to my front door and started beating on it very forcefully and loudly. When he saw we would not let him in, he went back to my window and yelled profanities at us. Not only had this disturbed me and my nurse, but one of my neighbors were outside and witnessed this entire situation, and it was a frightening sight.
No matter the reason, no one at any business has the right to approach a customer at their home in such a manner. Not only was it inappropriate, but it was scary. Their lack of customer service skills, is just disturbing, and honestly, it is just not good business. I would never refer a family or a friend, and I certainly would never use Aaron's Rentals again myself. This was the Pekin, Illinois Aaron's, and I wanted to put my story out there, so this may not happen to another customer. It was a horrible experience, and in the end I still was not able to resolve my issue, nor did Aaron's home regional office do anything about the store manager and driver's behavior at my home. This was just a horrible experience all around. I do not recommend using Aaron's Rentals at all.

Firstly, if I read any of the reviews here before starting anything with Aaron's I would of avoided them like the plague. I'll copy and paste the original complaint I submitted directly to them first and fill in any information where necessary. I had a payment due Monday, December 1st. I called in with my Debit Card info as I always do. The following day, I checked my Debit Card Activity History and I noticed 2 pending charges for the amount due from Aaron's. I first called my bank and they removed the pending charge immediately and they also advised me to call the vendor that charged my card to make sure I will not be charged twice. Just because they removed the pending charge does not mean the actual charge will not be processed. Apparently the General Manager, Store Manager, and no other employees at that location know what a pending charge is or general banking procedures. I called the store and had to convey my situation to 3 different people. I didn't ask to be transferred but I was asked to be put on hold each time I told someone. The last person I spoke to claimed to be the General Manager of the Ozone Park store.
The dialogue went like this: General Manager said, "I'm sorry you were charged twice, I'll process your refund." I said, "I wasn't charged yet, but it looks like my card was put through twice which is why I was seeing 2 pending charges. I called my bank and they got rid of one of them but they advised me to make sure that the second transaction is stopped and does not process." General Manager said, "So were you charged twice?" I said, "Not yet, that's why I called my bank. They took off one of the pending charges and advised me to call you so I'm only charged once." General Manager said, "Oh, so we don't have to give you a refund then." I said, "That's not what I said. I saw that my card was put through twice, which gave it 2 pending charges. I called my bank and they took care of what they had to on their end. I just need you to make sure I won't be charged twice" General Manager said, "OK, I'll handle it." And then she hung up on me. I was slightly taken aback but was assured that I had verbal confirmation that the issue would be dealt with. I was completely wrong because when I check my Debit Card Activity History 2 days later, to my surprise, my card was charged twice.
I immediately called Aaron's to notify them of the discrepancy. I first tried to explain to someone who I believe was the store manager or a supervisor of some sort named Russell (?) the situation, but he also does not understand the concept of banking procedures. I then gave up explaining and walked to the store to show him my activity history with the two charges to my card so he may refund me. When I took a closer look at the receipt I noticed that the section where it would show the approval code for the transaction was blank, so I believe that he just printed me up an invalid receipt and I will not be receiving my refund. In lieu of a refund, I called Chase (my bank) and filed a dispute and charge back for one of the amounts of $96.00 who gave me the credit back while they are disputing the charge with your company. I am very upset and disappointed at the lack of customer care and would like to file a formal complaint against the supposed General Manager I spoke with who disregarded my issue and allowed me to be charged twice and my account to reach a negative balance.
After this I was in contact with the Regional manager Carlos who said that my next month would be free and a credit will be applied for the amount of the overdraft charge for the negative balance. It was never made clear that the credit for the overdraft was not going to be put towards my Debit card but towards my account with Aaron's. I was trying to get in contact with him for a few days and he finally explained it to me after numerous emails. Aaron's needs to hire competent employees and have them properly trained in financial and banking matters and regulations before promoting them. How someone who is twice my age and probably has had more credit cards than I can imagine doesn't know the difference between a pending charge and an actual debit is beyond me.

All this they did with a smile... yet I live 30 mins. from their store. This is now paid off. I have also rented a washer & dryer which did not work due to my electrical system. They made two trips out bringing new dryers each time before we know what the actual issue was. (W/D almost paid off). I have a small refrigerator and freezer which they moved on two separate occasions without complaint. I also rented a computer (paid off).
I have always found Aaron's North Bend Oregon's Team to be professional, courteous and they have always gone beyond and above what was expected. Even when I was not able to make a payment on time because, like other reviewers, I am on a very limited income. Even then they were kind and considerate of my situation and limitations. I have returned two items. They were picked up in a timely manner and payments obligations ended as soon as I called, arranging pick up.
I am sorry other reviewers have been disappointed. HOWEVER I have been very happy with The North Bend Oregon Aaron's. As for the complaints concerning the rental costs if these reviewers had the good credit to go elsewhere I am sure they would, I would; however, bad credit means we pay more for what we want... if we want it now. If we do not want to pay 100% more to have what we want now, then the cash option is always ours to choose.

Ask if I live there. When my reference says "Who is this?" they hang up. So what am I to do? They deny it when I ask. Yet I've been sent screenshots of each call log that shows they in fact are calling. Somebody please tell me what the heck to do here!?

I was renting bunk beds for my son in last March 2014 and then the wife wanted a tv. So a few weeks later, got a tv too. Everything was going good. I was happy, they were happy making money. I paid off the bunk beds, end up get a ac from them going really got. I thought ac is just about paid off and I get a flyer in the mail saying that I can get new stuff without paying for it ‘til ac’s paid off. I thought cool, so me and my wife went out and got something new. It include a fire place. Only maybe 1 month later, I was watching tv and I seen a spark. Well I had no more tv, trip my breaker. Went and investigated. The cord had wire showing from the fireplace. It burnt up my playstation 3 and my tv box.
Well tv box 150 dollars for a new one and 45 charge for them coming out. New playstation 300 and all Aaron’s could say, well it's not our fault. I was very angry about my playstation. I thought they should replaced it, but instead but they said, check with your renter insurance. Ya they replace it, right. That's a joke. House didn't go up in flames. Anyway, I called. When I first started to talk with the manager, she wasn't being very repstiving her store, and I have a really short fuse so I blow up. Not a good idea. Well I got a replacement tv, a lot smaller anyway. Called up corporate and they said someone would call me back, never did. All this happened november 21, 2014. Well today December 5, they asked for payment and all I owe is 55 dollars for the ac but they want me to pay for my 55 inch tv when I haven't even had it for 2 weeks.
They are freaking nuts so I went in tonight to tell them, I wish that they could just pick up everything cause Aaron’s stuff is garbage and it would just save me a lot more money to just buy straight out. And she ask me, “Why?” And I said, “Well if corporate doesn't want to treat me like a valuable customer, why would I chose to stay with them?” And all she said, “Well my boss knows how you treated me on the phone so who cares.” I am the customer, it was a phone call. Yes I was rude on the phone but she was too. Any I didn't say. Instead after hear that, I just said that I just got up and walked out, shout, “Just pick up my stuff. I don't want my house to burn down.”
I am sorry but why would a mouse chose on wire in my house that’s only been there for one month. So you may be happy with them, like I was. But after this whole ordeal, I changed my mind. I will no longer give Aaron’s rent to own positive remarks out of my mouth. I am ashamed of even renting from them and that’s what I will tell people cause it's the truth out of my mouth. Everybody has their own opinion and my is Aaron’s products isn't worth the money. I much rather tell them to go to best way which is a worse store but they haven't done me wrong yet.

A friend of ours rented a desktop Dell computer from the Aaron Rents on Abrams in Dallas Tx. Got a good deal so we decided to go there when our comp started acting up. Before going there I called and got this guy who was professional on the phone and asked what to bring. Was told a lease, i.d. and proof of income. When we got there this RUDE black guy said he was the store manager, his name was Tony. We said we were looking to rent a desktop Dell and he said “Look around.” We found one and I asked him why were there different prices for the same comp. He said “Do you want one or not?” I figured ok, we came this far so we picked one and he gave us app to fill out all the while making "** folk and **" comments. I am Black, my husband is white.
When I handed him the app he was laughing and talking to other Black employees and just in general rude. When I told him that he was being rude he said "I am the manager.. Everybody here will be gone before I am." I told him there must be a corporate office to report to and he said "Go ahead but like I said you will be gone and I will ALWAYS be here. They will tell you one thing and we will laugh about it as you wait to hear back from them."
If not for my husband's cool head it really would have gotten worse. And Tony was right... I reported him to corporate and was told I must be mistaken coz he is very professional, but they will speak to him and get back to me coz it isn't their policy to treat/speak to customers this way... that was in February. I have since heard there are many complaints concerning this store. No action has ever been taken. So I posted it on FB and have received a lot of feedback. BTW, we didn't rent there and from what I have heard on FB, many others have since returned merchandise or not rented there at all.

I have been with Aarons for almost two years and I can say nothing but great things. I am about to pay off my LG LED TV and wanted to get a new laptop. Well only thing the special was for Black Friday and I could not come to the store. This Aarons went out of their way for me. First ordering the computer for me and then bringing to me in Molalla. And top off their great service I found the same computer I was getting for 18 months not 12 months and again no problems they will make good. Fran, Mike, and all the people through the store I have spoken with on the phone have been great. I now have my new laptop computer and could not be happier. Thank you Aaron's TV staff. When trying to figure out what I wanted to put with a living room suite, the sales lady said, "Well maybe you might want this." I'm not a teenager. I'm not young or naive. I know my own taste. They lost a really big sale and I wouldn't recommend anyone going to this place. Also they do a lot of fast talking. When you start that I'm done. On June 29, 2014, I went into Aaron's for living room furniture. While in the store I saw what I thought was a deal on a previously leased HP Envy laptop, Hp Slate tablet and beats headphones for $117.66 a month for 24 months. Not thinking I took the deal. August 1, 2014 my daughter laid the tablet on the couch in the case, got up and the tablet hit the floor and the screen cracked. When she called me, I came and took the tablet in the store only for the store manager to tell me nothing would be done. I asked about the extra money for the service plus ($9.99) and she told me to read the contract, it only covers normal wear and tear. She told me if I got the tablet repaired and it is to their standards they would take it back. So I called around to several places for quotes and every one tells me $299.00 or greater and that I should just buy a new one. So I took out the contract and began to read it, which I should have done in store, but it states fair market value or reasonable cost of repair. Fair market value is $299.00 the same as repair.
I went back in the store and made a payment to take me to September 1 and told them to pick up everything (the living room set and the electronics). At that time the manager told me after she picks up everything except the tablet she would recalculate the tablet and let me know what the price would be. Meanwhile the account would be held. So they picked up the furniture weeks later and then the phone calls started. Everyday, twice a day and then they started coming by my house. I told each person what the manager had told me and then they stated there was a new manager. Now this manager started off nasty telling me that my account was behind and I am telling him what the first manager told me and while waiting I called corporate which told me that the amount of the tablet would be up to the store manager. I have not made a payment because while all of this was taking place I was losing hours at work and now I am still dealing with my auto injury.
So two weeks ago the store manager calls me with a deal - he will add another refurbished tablet to a new contract for $5 more a month in addition to the broken one at $39.99 a month plus their fees for a total of $60 a month for fifteen months. Then today he tells me that my account is 55 days past due and that corporate will get the account, charge it off and prosecute for theft. How and they will not take it back and I don't want to sign any contract with them regarding this is. What can I do?

I've been renting from Aaron's for awhile. Sadly, if you have poor credit and not expendable income you are sort of forced this route--so I thought. If you miss one payment...say you are 3 days late, they will start calling everyone you know and harassing them. They will call you multiple times a day, they will send people to your house and actually repo your furniture. It was very traumatic for my kids. This is after I have already paid them thousands of dollars and this is obviously how they make their money. Because if you want your items back you have to pay them a couple months upfront and you get furniture that isn't new and is dinged and damaged.
I would recommend going to Craigslist. You can find some nice living room pieces for $200--which is a lot better than paying that monthly for 2 years. You can also lookup online and find many places that offer mattress sets new and cheaper if you pick up yourself. Again...saves from having that monthly payment hanging over your head. They have that old way of doing things..miss a couple days of paying and they are knocking and calling everyone you know, send their truck drivers in who are thugs to come and get your stuff. Horrible, will never go that route again. I'd rather sit on the floor than be embarrassed by their procedures.

I rent from a local Aaron's in Claremont NH. The "store manager" Dave is a complete CREEP. At this point I have stopped making payments and am seeking arbitration and a mediator and possibly legal help. I have been nothing but harassed by him since the first time I dealt with him approx. a month AFTER I began renting from Aaron's. He is very rude, seems to have aggression mainly towards women (I've heard other complaints from former female customers + my OWN personal experience). He is very demeaning and talks "down" to you esp. if you're a woman, and he abuses his so called "authority" as well.
When I opened this account, I was told they would work with me and I could make weekly payments though they normally accept bi-weekly or monthly only. This was not an issue until I came into the store and he (Dave, store manager) was the one behind the counter taking payments. He immediately embarrassed me by lecturing me in front of several customers, not really making a whole lot of sense, telling me I needed to manage my money better? Mind you this being the first time I met him.
After that I began to use the drop slot to make payments but within two weeks he was at my home (after store hours approx 830 pm) telling me I could no longer use their drop slot to make payments. Instead I needed to physically come inside the store to make payments. Can anyone tell me why this is? Nowhere in the contract is there any mention of this. Isn't that what a payment drop slot is for... to make payments?? I told him I wouldn't step foot in that store if he was there because he had given me such a hard time every time I dealt with him, be it in the store or via phone and that in fact from now on someone from the store other than him needed to contact me and handle my account. He then told me too bad, he was the store manager and he wanted his ** back.
He repeatedly told me that was HIS STORE. I said "I'm done dealing with you" and tried to close my front door. He quickly put his foot in preventing me from closing the door to my home. I screamed for my boyfriend (bf) who came running. Once Dave saw him, he pulled his foot out (he was not aware there was anyone there other than my children). Once his foot was out, I slammed the door. Dave then proceeded to wail on my front door's window. He pounded on the GLASS not the wood of the door, scaring my children and shaking my walls. My bf, concerned Dave would break the window, opened the door and attempted to calm Dave down and talk to him to try to resolve the issue. It was decided that my bf would take over the account and be the one they contact and the one to go in to make the payments from that point on.
They arranged a meeting for a few days later. My bf's diabetic son was sick the day of the meeting so he called to cancel it & to set up another meeting. Dave was unavailable so my bf spoke with staff member Robin who claimed she would give Dave the message and he would call my bf back as soon as he could. Dave never returned his call and has yet to call my bf's phone but continues to call mine. He calls everyday but only between 8am - 9 am. This is BEFORE store hours which is also when I'm at work.
I had made my work schedule known and have also made it known I'm not to be contacted while at work through my personal cell phone as my employer frowns upon that and cell phone use during work hours is grounds for termination of employment. I am also not to be contacted through my employer's number unless it's a FAMILY MEDICAL EMERGENCY. I work shifts by myself at a privately owned retirement home and need to focus on the needs of my 10 residents. It is not the time or place for personal phone calls and once again is grounds for termination.
When I began my contract I was told I would NEVER be contacted at work and my work number would be called ONCE and that was for employment verification ONLY. Dave has recently begun to call my employer in "attempt to contact me". He does not call on my shift however instead he calls on other shifts. For fear of termination at a recent staff meeting, I had made my employer and other staff members aware of the situation and harassment I'm receiving from Dave @ Aaron's. I have been told if these calls continue, they will be more than happy to write statements so I can pursue a restraining order on Dave and/or Aaron's sales and lease.
He is also on a daily basis calling two of my references and tells them he's trying to contact me because I owe him a lot of money and he doesn't have my phone number. Both of these ladies have told him I can no longer use them as a reference and have asked him several times to take their name off his call list and to immediately stop calling their phone but he continues. I believe this is strictly harassment at this point and if something is not done soon about him I will be seeking legal assistance.

The person I spoke with hung up on me at the Loves Park, IL store.

This place is a ghetto nightmare. If you have literally any other choice to acquire furniture, electronics, appliances, etc, choose that. Money wise, it's not a good idea, but that's not my complaint. I knew that going in, but since I didn't know how long I'd be in town, it made more sense to lease to own a few essentials until I got settled than to buy outright and be stuck with a bunch of furniture to sell or dispose of if I had to move, which was likely. The customer service is a JOKE. Literally the worse I've ever dealt with. I have a complaint pending with the Better Business Bureau with them, it got that bad. I received several annoying borderline harassing phone calls asking me for payment AFTER I had already had them come pick up the items I had rented. They even went so far as to contact my mother! When I called, upset, to figure out how to get the phone calls stop, a clerk dismissively questioned why I was upset and was exceedingly and unnecessarily rude (at one point she literally hung up in my face). In short, avoid this place like Ebola if you know what's good for you.

To begin with I live in an upstairs apartment with an outside entrance door, and a door from my mudroom/stairs into my apartment..... So recently I began to lease a computer and a TV. Well I lost my job so I missed a payment one week and when the guy from Aaron's came to my apartment and walked in my outside door (nobody is allowed through the outside entrance due to it leading into my apartment which is MY property). Anyway, when he got here he walked into my apartment and when I asked him why he walked into my apartment, all he had to say was "Well the door was unlocked".
It is ILLEGAL to just walk into someone's place whether the door is unlocked or even standing wide open. So I called the office and told the manager and she said, "Oh well you should've locked your door". ARE YOU KIDDING ME???? I should've called the police and pressed charges but being the nice person I am, I didn't want to put him in jail. I'm calling them again tomorrow to come pick their items up because I'm done with them.

We unfortunately purchased furniture from Aaron's and made weekly payments with extra. We called to get a payoff date and was told a date, which now has changed to 7 weeks later. The accounting department could not give us a exact date, only a roughly? Professional at the least. I asked to speak to the manager and was told he was at the back door and asked someone else to take the call from a irate customer. Again such a professional practice. All I can say is we are never going to do business again and wouldn't recommend any local to do business either. I am sure there are good stores out there just not in 84721 zip code!!!

When I purchased my item from Aarons they all impressed me as being very nice people. My item was delivered on time and set up. The problem came with the billing. I explained before anything was signed what day of the month I get paid and when I could pay. The person I spoke to said he would write the contract to meet my payday. I got a letter today and it caused me great distress because it spoke of reinstating my contract and me being late on my obligation. But I had already paid for this month. The letter also said they had been trying to contact me with no response. That is untrue. I saw a call on my phone and returned the call. I was told my account was ahead of schedule.
When I called to get some answers about this letter the manager gave me what seemed to be a rehearsed answer and did not listen, that I was concerned about the statement that I was unresponsive to their calls. As I was trying to find out about this I guess he got upset with me because he hung up the phone on me. I am always concerned when people say things about me that just aren't true. I am very sorry that this has happened I had hoped to do more business with them. I need a printer right now. But I will get it else where. I don't like untrue things being said about me and I sure don't like being hung up on. This was the Monroe Georgia store.
Like I said they were very helpful and very nice to begin with. I guess they feel if you are buying from them you can't get it anywhere else. That is not true. There are other places I can buy. I am really sorry that this happened. As I said I was intending on buying a printer from them right away and would have bought many more items. I am the kind of person that once I find some company I like and is helpful I stay with them. This could have been handled without any of this. Hanging up on someone is not the way to keep customers and is a form of bullying. I am very disappointed I thought I had found a good friendly company to do business with.
Is there any question that with the bad economy people are going to have to learn to be respectful to people to retain their business. However had I used profanity or been threatening, maybe a store employee would say I will not continue to speak to you if you continue to speak to me like this. I think everyone deserves respect. I don't think store employees should have to be abused verbally in the name of business. But me saying I don't understand a policy and need further clarification is no call to have the phone hung up on me. I truly am very sorry not for anything I said or did but that I won't be able to do business with a company with so little respect for me that I am hung up on because I ask why they said I was unresponsive to their calls.

I purchased a dryer from aaron's as a "cash and carry". The dryer was "scratched" was the reason for the amazing price, they claimed. The dryer does not work at all and is completely broken. The company had no remorse for this and told me I purchased it as is. It is illegal to sell broken items and lie about the product. After hours of calling everyone and getting laughed at, I reached the regional manager. She told me they would pick it up today, then refund my money, and it would take 7-10 days to get it back. I am now without a dryer and out 214$. This company is a complete scam.

On Sat, Sep 20, I went into Aaron's to lease purchase a bed, mattress and box spring for my 15 yr old son. They said they could deliver it Monday. I said that would be fine, but that I work till 5 pm, but my 15 yr old son would be there at 3:30 pm after school. Could he sign for delivery? They said no problem and I paid for the month. Monday rolls around, I come home from work, no bed. I call Aaron's and they said it was on back order and it would hopefully be there Tue. Tuesday I get home and my son tells me there was a note on the door that Aaron's had been there at 11:30 am. Really?? I had already told them availability times on Sat, and even reiterated that (AND my child's age) on Monday. So, now it's Wed. They come after 3:30 pm and my son IS there to accept delivery, only to find that someone of 18 yrs has to accept delivery. I was furious. I have told these people several times availability times AND my son's age.
Here's the good part: the girl that took my order initially told me Wed that she told me Sat someone 18 had to be there. No she did NOT, otherwise, of course, that would have been a problem. When I told her that, she continued to say she told me and talked over me, was rude and said 3 other people heard what she had told me about the age thing. Bull! There wasn't even 3 other people IN Aaron's at that time!
So, today, I go in to cancel the order, and the girl didn't want to process the refund, so her manager did. I tried to complain about my treatment, and she was just as, if not more, rude than the girl!! She told me she heard her tell me about the age thing...liar. She wasn't even in the vicinity when I spoke with this girl. (I find it odd that they "remembered" me and what was said in particular with all the customers I'm sure they deal with on a daily basis). I said something to the effect of covering for the girl, and she retorted "Oh yeah, because that's what we do at Aaron's, cover up for each other". Smart **! So, I'm called a liar, basically.
At Aaron's, the customer is NOT right, they are. And, instead of taking care of the problem, they become rude! I have had accts with Aaron's in the past in Pensacola, FL with absolutely NO problems, but this small store in Selmer, TN... well, they need desperately attitude adjustments! I am cancelling the furniture I already have come next payment. I'll go somewhere else where customer service is paramount!

I rented a brand new bed from Aaron's. I loved the memory foam mattress so much. Suddenly, I began itching and getting bites all over my back. I thought I was going crazy!!! Then I got rid of my dog, thinking it was fleas. (even though she didn't have any fleas) I cut all my hair off and noticed something running into my eyes. Ugh!!! Long story short I moved because it never stopped! I ended up in the hospital then the doctor asked me what I was sleeping on. I told them a memory foam mattress. Then, they asked me where I got it from & I replied Aaron's rents. The doctor advised me that a few other people had come to the hospital for the same thing. And the common denominator was Aaron's on veterans memorial in mableton ga. I contacted corporate and they didn't care, in fact they hung up in my face. I have wasted so much money, now I'm suing.

I rented a mattress set from Aaron's in May of 2013 and my payment were due on the first as stated in my contract. January of 2014, I was offered the option of renting a TV, no money down because I was already a customer. Well I agreed and requested that both accounts be due on the first because I work two jobs and it was hard for me to make it in. Aaron's agreed and I took the TV. I made the payment for the TV as well as the mattress set on the first of the following month as scheduled. I got a call around the 15th and was told I need to make a payment on my account. I told that them that I made the payment and even showed them the receipt.
The same thing happens again the next month so I just returned the TV and closed the account. I continued to pay on my mattress on the first but every month after the 15th they call and say I haven't made a payment. Then when I inform them that it's been paid online they tell me that it's a problem and I need to pay at the store. I stopped paying at the store because I was told that I had been making partial payments when in Fact I have always paid in full. I was told by one of the females that was working there that they would go in and put in partial payment request in the computer and pocket customers' money. My payments are less than fifty dollars a month. I bring home $3000 a month. I have no reason to make a partial payment. Do not rent from Aaron's. They are thieves. It's bad enough you have to pay such high interest but to be further beat out of your money is crazy. This is happening at the Aaron's on Little Creek in Norfolk.

I called Aaron's & told them to come pick up all of the property that I had been renting, as myself/my property was not safe where I was residing. In fact, the person whom I was living with, we'll call him "D", actually threatened to destroy the property. So I called Aaron's & had them come pick it up & take it all back to the store. Little did I know they didn't pick up all of my rented property. In fact an Aaron's employee, we'll call him "T", actually helped "D" steal my "rented"(I wasn't aware that I had actually paid off both items) item (Xbox 360 250 GB Halo Edition) & the Aaron's employee, "T" took another one of MY "rented" items (32" Panasonic 720P LCD W/IPOD/DVD) as a bribe to allow "D" to keep my Xbox 360.
When I went into the store to try to get this resolved, one employee tried to pull the employee I was speaking with aside & tell him in private "what happened with that situation". I spoke up immediately & said "No. My name is the only name on the account. I have every right to know what happened to my stuff!" The employee then said that "D" had GIVEN "T" my t.v. in order for "T" to allow "D" to keep my Xbox & "T" accepted my t.v. & allowed "D" to keep my Xbox!!!! Are you kidding me? How can someone give someone else something that doesn't belong to them in the first place, let alone an Aaron's employee! I waited a whole month for someone, anyone to call me & correct this situation but no one ever called. I called Aaron's customer service hotline & filed a complaint with them. The man I spoke with told me that a regional manager would call me directly within 48 hrs. Well 4 days later & I've yet to receive a phone call! I paid THOUSANDS of dollars for these TWO items & I have neither to show for it!

I rented a previously rented Toshiba Excite pure 10.1 inch tablet from the Culpeper store back in July and the screen got cracked accidentally by my 2 year old granddaughter. Long story short I owe $260 on it and they have terminated my contract for falling behind on payments. I am on disability and cannot pay the full $260 at once but they also will not accept the item back as it is cracked. Got a call today from a manager saying they were going to seek a warrant for failure to return property which I tried to do as well as make some kind of payments until the $260 was satisfied. I have paid $150 on the tablet and am trying to return item as well as pay for it but they are both rude and not very compassionate. To try to destroy a person over a tablet that costs $299 brand new in stores is ridiculous enough but to refuse return and payment is just insane.

I have been a customer of Aaron's Furniture in New Bedford, Massachusetts for over 7 years and have paid off many accounts on time never missing one payment. In all these years I never had any kind of issues and the staff employed back when I started was AMAZING!! The staff has changed several times and even the system changed... Once the system was changed, I was told the credit card they had stored for automatic payment had to be shredded due to security reasons and they no longer accepted payments over the phone. I would have to use the website to make payment or come into the store.
I live off medicare and had several brain surgeries at the hospital of UMASS which makes it very difficult for me to come into the store..yet going through all of this I have never missed a payment. In June I started another contract for a tablet that was a gift for my daughter and it has been a nightmare since. At this time I'm paying 3 accounts and almost done with the first 2, never missing one payment and always on time.. The first call and error from them was done not even a month of purchasing the tablet, in July saying I missed my payment.
I had to tell them nooo I paid up until August and they had me for the 15th of every month, when many times I have been clear my payments should be on the 1st and it has been for over 7 years. I live on a fixed income of medicare and have all my bills paid once the money comes in.. After a few calls in August they finally fixed the issue. Here is September and it's another issue. Since March or April when the system changed I have made all my payments online and on time, never missing once.. I was not told for 3 months now the system has not been working and now they allow payments over the phone or set up automatic once more.
I paid my bill online and only saw 2 accounts. I thought it meant 1 of the accounts was finally paid off. I made my payment for the amount told and thought everything was set. I then got a call a few days later that my tablet account was overdue and I needed to make the payment. This of course caught me by surprise since my payment was done on the website. At that moment I was told of the system errors they been having for several months. Which I think was very unprofessional of them not to notify the customers about the issue they are having. Even worse when I was in contact with them only a month ago solving the first issue I was not told of the issues with the systems.
The account manager mentioned this is happening to many of their customers and many are very upset. I have been in contact with them several times about this matter and have mentioned my situation and income to them. All they say is "We see you have been with us for many years and are an excellent customer. All your accounts have been paid off and always on time". Yet they can't work with me on this issue and if I don't make a payment within 24 hours, I will have to bring the tablet in or they will pick it up and it will ruin my reputation with them".. UMM NOOOO!!
Why should the customers have to suffer for the errors of not just your system but of your lack of communication on notifying that things were not running correct? They have been harassing my mother and sister, yet never call my phone. I have to call them. They don't need to contact anyone else but me, I'm not hiding and have stayed in contact with them to resolve this matter.
I always recommended this store to everyone, to the point I recommended my very own sister but... NOW I WILL SAY HELL NO!!! I want to pay my accounts off and never deal with them again. I feel very disrespected and treated as irresponsible because my account is not paid. They want to come to my house and get a tablet to keep it in the store until I can come up with the payment for this month and refuse to work something out with me.. This is absolutely ridiculous and it's sad a company refuses to take fault for their errors.. THEY HAVE LOST A CUSTOMER!!!

Well long story short my in-laws called to be able to arrange double payment next etc. and they showed at their door tonight before the payment is even due. This is bad business. I will even use the fact that me and my husband can not get nothing through our name because a laptop that was stolen and I was arrested for so no police report was made. They are refusing to write it off after they themselves told me that they had seen a video three years after the fact of who took. They did not do what they were suppose to do to assure me that they have done what they needed to to be able resolve the matter. I have been a customer of Aaron's for a very long time and have bought several things from them. I would have recommended them to everyone....BUT NOT NOW!! Here the last 6 months have been terrible. I have had some real health issues and was having trouble making my payments on time. I was keeping in communication with them and I was in when I told them I would be! I always tried to give them "some type of payment" each time I got any money. I had a very nice man by the name of Allen come to my house and I again told him the reason that I was behind in payment (they change people about every other month). He told me that he had taken over the financial part of the accounts and that he would note my next day to stop by and things would be ok. I was to call them by the next Wednesday and let them know what I would be bringing in. So when I called to talk to Allen, he was on the phone, and I got a person by the name of Jeremy (I think) and he was very rude on the phone. I ended up asking him his name and what he was there.
He VERY RUDELY told me he was the "boss man" and that I was not going to run my account like that and that he could over rule any decision. I was just floored. He told me that I had to pay the amount due by the due date, or they would just have to come get it and hold it until I could get things back on track. I told him that I did not appreciate the way he was toward me and that I would think about it and call them back. After talking it over with my husband, and thinking about it I got madder every time I thought about it. So I called them and Allen answered and I told him about how Jeremy had acted, and that they could just come get the stuff and that I would not be coming back.
