My complaint is about the Aaron's store in Ahoskie, NC. First of all, it is a violation to discuss anyone's account with another person. The girl at the store in Ahoskie called my mother last month to talk about my account in detail with my mother, in which the TV is 3-4 payments from being paid. I have been having trouble this summer with my medicine being expensive and maintaining my bills. But under no circumstances an account supposed to be discussed with anyone other than the account holder. Then, to add insult to injury, I am on disability. I get my check on the 3rd of the month.

The girl had the nerve to call me on the 3rd of October at 8:30 am. The payment was not even late at this point. But she had a nerve. My check had not even been in the bank a good 10 hours, plus the fact that she called me early in the morning. I don't have a job. There is no reason for me to get up or have to be up that time in the morning. And I don't appreciate being called before 10 am. Then to make matters worse, on 10/08/2011, she called at 8am again. I did decide to withhold payments because I wanted to launch a complaint about the representative discussing my account and them calling before 10 am. I have told them previously not to call my phone and anyone in my relative list that early in the morning. But I guess they decided to be funny and do it anyway.

I told the girl on Saturday 1st. I hung up. She called back 2 times on the 4th call. I picked up the phone. I said, “If you continue to call my house early in the morning like this, I'm going to ** out.” She said, “I'm going to ** you right back.” I told her, “** I wish you would,” and I hung up on her. Really it is bad enough that you call early in the morning during the week, then you are going to do it again on a weekend. If I don't get some satisfaction about this ordeal, I am withholding payment until someone does something. I understand business is business. But you are calling someone early in the morning and the payment isn't even due yet. And if I don't have it, you can't get it until I get it. After already basically paying for the TV, I have had it for almost 2 years. It is just shy of 2 months being paid for. Do you really think that I am going to give something up and lose all my money, and then it will be resold and Aaron's get paid twice for a TV? If I had took my dumb ** to Wal-Mart and purchase, I could have bought 3 for the price I paid to Aaron's.

I was a customer of Rent A Center for a few years. Recently, without notifying customers, Rent A Center was sold to Aaron and Rent A Center transferred my account without my consent. When I went to make my payment at Aaron, my balanced owed was higher than what my last receipt said from Rent A Center. Aaron has yet to make the corrections, but called for their payment which was not yet due. Karen hung up the phone on me when I demanded more info.

Trying to pay online from their website is a nightmare. They have it grayed out until they decide to turn it back on, then you are charged late fees. I am getting ready to initiate a formal complaint against them with the NC Attorney General. The merchandise is way overpriced and not the most current models. There are better places to do similar business transactions with.

I have rented both a laptop and washer from the Burlington store. When I went to store on September 2, 2011, the employee pocketed my payment. I have reported this to Burlington, Vermont Police. The Burlington Store has called me asking for extra payments and I refused to aid investigation, they are now threatening physical action. They want me to enter a new contract and repay in full. I have just 3 more payments on washer and 4 for computer.

Today (06 Sept 11), I had called the store manager to see if I could pay my full month at the end of the month. He was very rude and disrespectful saying that it was out of his hands. He said that the computers run the store and not him. It is up to corporate if I keep my merchandise that I have paid 5x the value for and have my living room set almost paid off. I am a single, disabled mother with a disabled child and I had never asked for help from them until now. But they don't want to work with me.

I had put all my deposit money and payments into the merchandise. I could have put on a better quality furniture and owned it by now. The money I have for food and utilities have been used just to pay my furniture bill on time. My disabled child had to do without stuff for him just so I would have the money to pay the outrageous monthly payment.

During the month of July, I had hit a hard spot financially as I am a disabled Veteran. I had called to see if there was anything they could do about extending a payment or even adding an extra payment on to the end of my contract due to the financial hardships I had experienced that month. There was nothing they could do, so they did a renewal and had me pay a payment and a half the following month.

My payments were originally on the 15th of the month, but, in order for me to get the renewal, I would have to have my payments put to the first. In a frantic struggle to not lose the merchandise after investing over $1,000 into it, I agreed.

Here it is August 2 and I get a phone call asking for a payment. I had forgotten that they had changed my payment date. I had explained to them my situation and that there was no way I could make payments on the first because this is when my rent is due. They explained that this could be changed, but I would have to go to the store.

The problem with this is the store that I had originally got the merchandise from was only about 10 miles down the road from me. It closed with no warning and they failed to even tell me that my account was now in Asheboro. So now I must travel 30-40 minutes to do any paperwork.

When I explained this, the accounts manager had said she offered that they could bring the paperwork out before, when I know for a fact they didn't. She continued to very nicely call me a liar. They then informed me that I could make a partial payment of $35 but were not completely clear on what this would do. When I began getting very upset and told them straight up they did not have any respect for the veterans of this country, she told me that she would no longer deal with me and I needed to deal with corporate from now on.

On a last note, all those signs about how they support our vets are a bunch of ** and I find it disgusting. I have received more of a headache than help from these people. And I am on the verge of sending the merchandise back after investing so much of my disability checks to have this small luxury, which helps to keep some of the demons away from when I served. Sadly, it is one of the only things that help to keep me sane at this point in my life.

I am not even a customer of Aaron Rents. Someone put my name down as a reference on an application. In July, I started receiving phone calls from a Jeremy at the Lawrence, KS Aaron Rents. His phone calls were in reference to a customer they are trying to reach. I have conveyed the messages but have no true way of knowing if the people in question are contacting Jeremy back. I am going to assume they have not. These phone calls disrupt the daytime sleep of one of my roommates. When Jeremy was told to stop calling and to take my name and phone number off his calling list, because we aren't even customers, he snickered and stated he would continue to call until the people he is trying to reach contact him. I told Jeremy that I considered this phone harassment and if it did not cease, I would contact the police. Again, Jeremy snickered and said I had threatened him. So I contacted the McLouth Police Department and filed a police report. I feel that if harassment of reference people for Aaron Rents customers is a standard operating procedure, then maybe I should tell all of my friends so they can decide to do business with more reputable companies.

On August 19th, I invited Aaron's to come pick up a merchandise I no longer wanted, but kept a TV which I intended to continue paying. Because I was late, they wanted the TV back as well so they sent a guy back to get it. When he arrived, I was in a serious medical distress due to serious heart conditions and my family called an ambulance. When he saw me lying on the floor, he illegally entered my home by claiming that he was a medic. He told my sister that I was fine, just overheated and possibly suffering from a heat stroke.

When the real paramedics arrived, they immediately concluded that I was a suffering from Supraventricular tachycardia, a life-threatening condition. He then excused himself to get out of the way of the paramedics by taking my children in the living room under false pretenses to "pray" with them. The Aaron's employee also had come on my property in his personal vehicle with his girlfriend, who told my daughter and nephew that I was just "faking just to not have to give up my merchandise."

When I was put in the ambulance, as my mother was frantically trying to get ready so she could follow me, he asked, "Hey, while I am already here, can I grab the TV?" I won't repeat what my mother said to him but she basically told him to leave. I think that their actions on that day borders with criminal behavior! It was against policy to pull up on my property in their personal vehicle, with someone who doesn't work there, lie to get in the house, work his way into my house using my children's distress and try to pick up merchandise I had every intentions on paying for! I am so angry and disgusted with the members of the Darlington, SC Aaron's!

I Bought a 60-inch Mitsubishi DLP TV from Aaron's roughly 3 years ago. My TV is paid off and a few months back, the picture started going out and we heard a loud pop, the DLP lamp light on the front turned red so we decided to replace the lamp. I called Mitsubishi and they recommended a few retailers in town, one being Aaron's. I decided I would just call them and have them order a lamp, everything went smoothly when I called the store, the girl I spoke with looked up my account information and knew already what to do, she said "they ordered the lamp and we will call you when it get into the store because we order them from another store".

A week went by with no contact, I called a few times and they said they would call me back after leaving me on hold to check the status of the lamp. I go into the store with my girlfriend, who resides with me, and ask about the lamp, the man helped me brings back an opened "lampsource.com" box that had been resealed with scotch tape. The lamp is free floating inside and the packaging has been removed it seems. The box also looks visibly old and on the way home we hear a little rattling. I didn't think much of it because I know there could be screws for the lamp or what not in there. We arrive home and I inspected the lamp with my girlfriend. We both noticed the lamp housing looks like it was used, but the bulb looked new so I figured I just want my TV working, "let's see if it works". I installed the lamp and my TV turned on for 10 minutes and then went out with a red lamp light.

I called the store the first thing next morning and told the store what happened, they were polite and sent a driver out to pick up the lamp, he said "oh yeah, this doesn't look right we should be giving you a whole new lamp, this looks old" then he took the lamp back to get me another one. I waited another week with no word, went into the store again personally and the manager came out of the office and said, " we need to talk, that isn't the lamp we sold you." I'm flabbergasted at this point, and responded with," are you serious?"

She proceeded to tell me that she and an employee opened the box, "that's the reason it was scotch taped, I did that" and that wasn't the lamp they gave me. At this point I was pissed off. I demanded my money back because of the way I was being treated, like I was the criminal. I then left commonly before things got worse on my part and filed a complaint directly with corporate informing them of how this manager treated me and that they now have my money and the lamp.

The guy on the phone with corporate was very nice so I said as long as I don't have to deal with that lady, I will take a new lamp or my money back, just fix my TV. I got a call a few days later from the manager's district supervisor, who started out the conversation with, "I won't give your money back I'm going to have to side with my manager and the employee who say that isn't the lamp." At that point I got irate and launched into mass talking, not yelling but saying everything I feel I need to about the situation. I questioned, why cant they just check the serial numbers that both the so-called new lamp and housing have, and the district manager says "that's the first time anyone has ever asked me that question". I was so pissed of and I said, " wouldn't that save everyone these wild accusations to begin with, and that I have never done business with a company who doesn't keep track of these kind of product and serial numbers and I don't ever want to do business with someone as shady as himself and the local store manager. I have been calling corporate every couple of days hence forth to check on what on earth they are going to do about this, to no avail. Someone please help me, isn't this highway robbery?

I have had several bad experiences with Aaron's in Winchester VA. And I would like the opportunity to warn others about their less than desirable business practices and extremely poor customer service. They will treat you like you are a parasite. I called my local Aaron's store yesterday to inquire about trading in my living room set for something else, because I do not like the set I just received from them 3 months ago. When I ordered my current living room set from them three months ago, they delivered all three pieces with tears in them. I had to wait two weeks for a new set. When I called them yesterday, the arrogant sales manager told me that the last set I traded in was brought back to the store in "horrible" condition! I absolutely was shocked because that is false! I asked him to provide me with documentation from the date it was returned to the store and what exactly they had to do to clean it. His reply was "I don't have that documentation." Of course, they don't because it's **! If you turn something in and replace it, any store credit you accumulate will only be good for used merchandise! Don't use Aaron's. Look online. There are thousands of complaints. I was shocked!

I went to Aaron's in Winder, GA to purchase a new (as what they call it) bed. After a mixed-up or two, the bed was delivered and it was used. I noticed how worn it looked. The delivery crew and the General Manager Jason assured me that it had been sterilized and was in a clean and usable condition. They were kind enough to drop off an allergen bed protector but I just noticed they've billed me $6 a month for it. Upon preparing the bed, putting on the allergen protector and sheets, I noticed it has several dark, crusty, recent stains on the mattress as well as rips and stains on the box springs. There is an old sticker that says: "Due 12/15/2009". They are actually asking me to pay almost $700 for a 2-3 years old used, ripped up, dirty mattress.

Picked out and set up delivery of furniture. Was given a specific date and time. Called on day of delivery to confirm delivery. I was informed the gentleman who set me up was no longer there and there was no record of my rental agreement. When I tried to reset the original agreement, I was told could not. I had originally requested a used love seat, lamp tables and a coffee table because that was all that would fit in my apartment and I could afford to rent. When I went to reset the agreement, I was told I could only split up a new sofa set because only a new love seat could be replaced in the store for the set. The day they delivered, they sent the sofa instead of the love seat and I had to wait for them to come back to take the sofa and give me the love seat. I was finally able to purchase my own furniture so I had them pick up theirs. I kept a TV stand because it was used and should have been paid for during the course of my contract. I was called several times to be told I still owed for the TV stand. I told them I was in disagreement and to have the store manager call me.

They must have done some research for my employment because they contacted my supervisor. I never gave them his number. He was not happy to receive that kind of call. He told me he was not my answering service. I called Aarons again with my cell # and specifically told them they were not to call my job. By law, if asked not to do so they had to comply. My supervisor was contacted again but this time my branch manager and director were informed as well. I called Aarons corporate only to be threatened with having my credit reported to if I did not pay. The gentleman that called actually had the nerve to apologize for my treatment and hoped I would come back as a customer AFTER he had threatened notifying the credit bureau. He also had the nerve to tell me the Aarons motto before he hung up. This is typical of Aaron's all over the US. I felt like I was dealing with someone from the Mafia. I would make my payment and 5 minutes later, someone would call me and ask when the next payment was going to be mailed. And then they said that they would send someone to my house for the next payment. From looking at these nationwide comments about Aaron's Sales and Lease and Rent-A-Center, their "collection" tactics are similar. You'd think it would be illegal to use threats and scare tactics, but these two companies use them all the time. I can't wait for the day when someone finds out this is happening, files a class action lawsuit against them, and we can put these crooks out of business. Don't deal with Aaron's anywhere in the US. It's appalling how they conduct their business.

I have been renting a lawn mower since possibly around March of this year. This is the second time it has broken down. The first time, an axle broke. Now it just won't start. My complaint is their practice in sending out a delivery guy, first to confirm that the item is not working and then the delivery guy leaving the item and coming back later to pick it up. Each time I had to call a day later to follow-up as to when I can expect the mower to be fixed. This time while asking the question. I was suddenly told that the person that was delivering the information via an associate had suddenly left for lunch and would get back to me when he returns. Well of course, I still have not received a call.

My feeling is that why waste time coming back and forth before actually fixing the item and then there's the lack of following-up from the manager. It is just uncalled for. They don't seem to have a problem with harassing calls from both the store and a 1800# when the payments are late.

I asked the questions as to how long would it take before the mower would be fixed once it has actually been picked up or would they be providing me with a loaner as it is about to be the holiday weekend and I would like to cut my grass. Still no answer and the mower is still in my garage not working!

Aaron's double charged my debit card. When I contacted my bank, the representative told me that she would have to send this to the fraud department. When the fraud department shared these concerns with Aaron's, they told the bank representative to tell me to come into the branch to be refunded. I then called Aaron’s and Rich told me to come on in. When I went in the same day, they claimed the refund would have to be cleared from his district manager and Rich claimed he had just called him and was waiting for a reply. I followed up hours later, and Rich claimed he had just sent in an email to his boss but reports he just gotten off the phone with his boss who is reported to be in-between stores in traffic.

The following day, I went back into Aaron’s and Rich states that he had received confirmation from his boss to refund the money. Rich claimed he did this and handed me a receipt stating 'store credit'. When this was addressed, Rich claimed all receipts states this. I called my bank to verify any pending transactions from Aaron’s while still inside Aaron's store. No pending transactions were noticed. The bank representative told me to give it a couple of days. If there was ever a transaction pending, it should be in their system no later than Tuesday. Today is Wednesday and still no pending transactions because Aaron's never did it, but lied that they did.

I called them today and asked to speak to Rich and I was asked my name. When I told them, I was placed on hold for about 10 minutes, then another representative, Sam, picked up the phone reporting she was told the line was for her. I went back on hold. When Rich finally picked up the line, he stated to me, “Well, I don’t know what you want me to do. I ran the transaction right in front of you.” When I told him, “Is that all you have to say?” He responded, “I can call corporate, but I don't know what that would really do."

In November of 2008 I went to this store location and leased a laptop computer. I was good on making my payments until about February 2009 when my house was broken into and as a result the leased laptop was stolen. I contacted the store manager and supplied him with a police report and the investigating officer's name. In March 2009 the store manager authorized without my knowledge one of his employees to charge my ATM bank card. I quickly put an end to that. Shortly after that, the delivery drivers began showing up at my house when I was not home. I began getting threatening phone calls and reports from my neighbors that there were individuals pounding on my door and looking in my windows. One day when I was at work, I received a phone call from the alarm company informing me that my house alarm was going off. I rushed home to find a delivery driver standing at my door. Upon entering my house I found that the driver was beating on the door so hard that he knocked the sensor of the door and onto the floor.

At that point I told the driver that no one was to step foot on my property from their company again. Now here we are in 2011 and I receive harassing phone calls from a so called Investigative company that was obtained by Aaron's in order to find my location and information so that I can settle a balance of 176.73. The lady proceeded to inform me that she was with Peter Simmon and Associates and that I needed to take responsibility for my debt. However what Aaron's failed to mention to her is that the debt was repaid and that the 176.73 is the amount that was racked up on their behalf as a result of their delivery driver making three trips a day despite the fact that they were well informed that I no longer had their product in my possession. Aaron's and their employees are nothing but crooks and they should be run out of business.

I went to rent furniture and the one in the sales paper wasn't at the location. When asked if they could get the furniture, I was told by Katrina and assured me that she wouldn't be able to get it for me. When home thinking about the second option, I was forced to choose because of my schedule. I noticed that the receipt was stating a remaining balance higher than what was discussed. I called back the next day to discuss remaining balance difference and a representative, by the name of Jennifer, asked which set did I get. I told her about the first option and that I wasn't able to get because no location had it. She responded with she will see, what she can do, and give me a call back. She called back with the date and time to deliver the first option and the changes on balance.

When furniture was delivered, they sent only one guy to deliver a sofa, loveseat, two lamps, coffee table and two end tables. The delivery driver was having a hard time getting the furniture in the home so I asked if he needed any assistance. The delivery driver responded, "No, I will call for help." After making the phone call to his General Manager, Katrina, he asked for our assistance. I assisted him and noticed that the leg on the chair was broken and the coffee table was chipped. I contacted Katrina, the General Manager and she responded, "I could just transfer account or have you return furniture. I responded that I only want to replace the coffee table because the delivery guy fixed the leg on chair. Katrina stated that she is not going through anymore hassles. We could just return the furniture and receive a refund and that the account can no longer be transferred to another store.

The next morning, I was awoken by a phone call from Katrina. She stated that she will have the police come with her delivery crew to pick up furniture. My better half doesn't want to return the furniture because she fell in love with the suit. I asked to speak to the Regional Manager and was told that he would give me a call back. Ray, the Regional Manager, if its his name, called back and stated that he no longer wants to do business with someone who has threatened them. I responded with saying what threat? I wasn't told what threat.

I called corporate to speak to them about a complaint. A female answered the phone stating that I would have to speak to the regional manager to see if the issue could be resolved. I waited for a return phone call for about one hour to one hour and thirty minutes, but no return phone call. I called another Aaron's store and the general manager there stated that the regional manager should have listen to both side and not just take the general manager of that store side and he would look into it and give me a call back. No call from him either.

I called corporate back and they stated that because I supposedly threaten Katrina of shooting her, they no longer want to do business with me. During the call about the one delivery driver and myself having to help deliver my furniture and my complaint about the broken chair and chipped table, her delivery driver was at my home listening the whole time. She made up these allegations to cover up her poor customer service and negligence of their policies and procedures.

I injured my back lifting. I am being told to return the furniture for a refund but I'm not being reimbursed for my work, and my better half is on the agreement as well, she works long hours and has to make time out of her work schedule and rearrange her plans to receive her refund which she paid the first month down with a debit card. She's also been delayed to finish her paperwork to further her education because of all the back and forth with this company. My family is embarrassed from them saying that they are having the police escort them to remove furniture. We purchased some furniture from Aarons in October of 2010 and they broke the furniture. So, they said that they will bring us some new furniture on November 4, 2010. That day came around, and we still did not receive our dresser. So, we decide to pay them a visit to see what the problem was, and they said that they have the furniture in the back and they will send it out that Monday.

That Monday came around, and we still did not receive our dressers, so we paid them several visit to see we are receiving bad customer service until we just gave up. On March 11, 2011, we finally receive the dresser, but my sister is missing the mirror on her dresser. Danielle, the person who was supposed to help us with this problem, is avoiding us and giving us the run around.

On January 15, 2011, I purchased two pieces of office furniture and started an agreement or lease on a third piece. I requested to have the furniture delivered on February 1, 2011. I called the store on Monday, January 24, 2011, a week before the delivery, to set up an official time. The date was set for January 29, 2011. No one bothered to call or say anything. I called at 2pm to verify that they were doing the delivery. I finally spoke to Anthony who asked me to call back around 3pm or 4pm to see if they were doing the delivery.

I was on hold for over 23 minutes before I called Anthony on another phone and he answered. Of course, they were not doing it. A delivery has been scheduled everyday since, except Sunday. No ever bothers to call or communicate if they are on the way. I always call around 5pm to check in with the store, naturally no one knows anything. I waited in my office until 7:30pm on February 2, 2011, before someone called to tell me they were, yet again a no-show. I do not want the furniture and demand a refund. I do not want to do business with such a sloppy company.

We have been customers of this company for a couple of years. We paid our TV off and got a PlayStation3 and another TV for our children for Christmas. On Christmas morning, my 6-year-old son opened his PS3 from Santa only to find we couldn't play it. The cord, which charges the wireless remotes, was not in the unopened box! So, we had to wait till they opened on the next day to get it! It should have been included! Two days later, the PS3 stopped working! We took it up to the store. A service rep told us he was tired of us complaining! Really? We paid good money for this. To be treated as if we were nothing and be talked to with no respect pisses me off. I have been in the service industry for 14 years. If I were to say that to a paying customer, I would be fired! It is uncalled for and I just want to make that clear!

This street has about 30 houses, all my neighbors has heard this going on and they said they would never rent from Aarons. Robert was yelling and cussing they were looking in my windows and scaring my son to death. They will get the ref but I am going to do my best to see no one ever rents from you guys again. also for two days they parked their truck in my driveway so I couldn't get in my house. I had to call a police man to make them move. Is this the way you do business? Bad.

I leased a section from Aaron’s. I've been making payments on them for about 18 months. I was late this month so a young man comes to my house knocking the door down. He doesn’t care who is standing in my house when he walks in and tells me that I’m passed due on my account. I sat and spoke to him and told him that I would like to speak to his boss to see if he could give me a payout so that I can be done with them. The manager never called back ever! In the next few days, a lady calls my home being extremely rude as if I was a criminal that tried to rob them.

I told her that this month was a bit hard for me and that I couldn’t come up with the payment for a couple of days. She tells me that it sounds like a personal problem so I ask to speak to the manager. She tells me how she is going to have her ‘guys’ pick it up in five minutes. When she transferred the call over, the manager picks up and says "Yes? '' I asked his name and he turns around and says, "Well, you asked to speak to me, you know who I am". Wow! How rude can they be?

Well, I know we were back and forth because I couldn't make the payment on time. He tells me on how that's not their problem and I should go and borrow the money from someone to make the payment. All of a sudden, there were all these new rules and regulations that they were trying to re-enforce on me. Mind you, I only have about three months left to pay the sofas off. They kept threatening me on how the stuff is still theirs and they can come and pick it up whenever they want. He made it his business to say how he runs that whole Aaron’s store and everyone has problems but that is none of his business. I let them know about their attitudes. I don’t know how they let people like that deal with customers.

I financed a Mercedes Benz that if I was to be late on the payment. Guess what, it’s a $40K car and they don’t treat me like that. Aarons has the worst customer service ever! That will be the first and last time I will ever purchase something from them! I will make sure to tell everyone! This is not the way to treat anyone!

I was told that I should not move the TV myself, it would void the warranty. So, they scheduled a day to pickup and deliver it to my new address. It was almost two weeks later, they finally picked it up, then took it back to the store. Approx.3 or 4 days, they called and offered to deliver it to my new address as first agreed, I said yes I would like to do that as I had paid the first month in full and when they brought it back. I paid the next payment the next day or so.

A few days later, I was arrested and in jail a little over a week. While I was in jail a neighbor called and asked them to pickup the TV. I was not aware of this until I got home. My payment was paid in full, and not due till the 1st of the following month. I was released about 2 weeks prior to that when I got home I called and asked them to bring it back. They agreed, when it did not arrive I called and was told they could not bring it back until I came and talked to them. I went to the store the next day and I was told they could not allow me to have the TV because of my charges. I have not even been found guilty yet and was not refunded any of my money to compensate for the difference. I feel this is discrimination and I was treated very unfairly and would like compensation for poor service and unfair treatment.

At that time, a rep. named Omar gave me the serial and model number of the 42 inch Phillip flat screen TV that was stolen from my house. I was told by the police it will take 10 to 15 days before a police report will be ready during this time Aaron's rep. Omar continued to call and say he needed the police report in order to give me the fair market value.

On October the 12th, I contacted Officer Hank ***** and told him about my situation. He said the case is not closed but he can provide me with a list of stolen items. On Oct. 13th, I was able to pick up the police report and I immediately went to Aaron's store to give them the police report. At this time, I was told by Joe whom acknowledge to me he was the account manager that he could not give me the fair market value. He would have to deal with the claim adjuster.

I said okay and gave him the claim adjuster phone number and name. Mrs. *** acknowledged me that they would not give her the fair market value or the sign lease agreement. She also acknowledge to them that she does not work for them. Joe did call me and said I could come and pick up a copy of the signed lease agreement. When I went to pick it up, they did have a signed copy but they gave a gen. copy with figures on it. They said the signed copy was with corporate.

I later found out all copies or lease agreement are kept at the stores in which they are signed. Then they begin to call me asking me for a payment. I told them at this time I should not be doing a payment. I should be settling the account. They have given me all types of figures. I have tried several times. When Joe has called to settle the account, he finally said I have $880 invested into the TV, only 50% of the payments goes towards settling the account. Joe acknowledge to me that I still owe $749. I told him that this is not the fair market value. Finally today, someone named Chris who stated he was a region manager who sounded like Joe stated I owe $450 in order to close his books. He said this is the book value. I state to him this is still not the fair market value for this TV. The lease agreement clearly states at the time the property is lost or stolen the fair market value should be given and it should not exceed the total cash price. The total cash price is $1169.99.

I am renting an all-in-one computer from Aarons Rents here in Brooksville, Florida. I have been having issues with my health, and have been hospitalized twice in the past month. I am late on this month’s payment, and told two different Aarons associates to take the computer, they did not. Now it's the end of the month, and I get a letter from Camille informing me to return the merchandise since I haven't held up my end of the contract. So I had my daughter call and tell them again to come pick the computer up; I was at a doctor’s appointment.

When I got home, she and my son said that Camille told them they would not come pick the computer up until I made the payment. What is that? I told you to come get your merchandise after I got a threatening letter to be turned into the corporate office. If I don't return the same computer that I had already told two of your associates to take, and they said they couldn’t. Now the manager, Camille, tells us she will not pick it up until I make a payment?

I think it's time to get a lawyer. I had two nurses at my home. When Aarons refused to take the computer weeks ago, I had my son, daughter and two of their friends here, who heard Camille on speaker phone say that she would not pick up this computer until I made a payment. What kind of company is this? They threaten me with a letter, then they tell me they will not come and get the same merchandise that they are threatening me about? I will never do business with Aarons again, neither will my entire family. They know my health problems and this un-needed stress is not helping any at all. What kind of business threatens you with a letter, then when you call them to get their merchandise, they tell you no, they will not come get it. Does that make any sense? Now I’m going to check with a lawyer in the morning because it seems like since they refused to take it twice and they refused to come get it a third time, then they don't want it, and for all the aggravation they've put me through, it should be mine.

Because they should've taken it the three times I told them to. You can't get the money out of my blood-sorry. It doesn't work that way. Aarons should be ashamed to have people like that working for them. After I check with a lawyer in the morning, I’ll see what he tells me to do, just seem like they had their chance and refused three times, so they shouldn't get anything now. How's that for customer service? Try to return their merchandise and they tell you no and then threaten to turn it over to their cooperate office for prosecution? I’m so disappointed.

Two years ago we purchased a Philips 46-inch LCD with Ambilight from Aaron's Rent-to-Own, store location: Co528, Durant, Oklahoma. TV was great. I had a few payments left on it and it began to have playability issues. At this time it was still under warranty. Aaron’s came and got the TV. Two weeks later they brought it back said it was fixed. Well it wasn't, so they loaded it back up and sent it back to their repair center, which is in Oklahoma City.

Another two weeks go by, they bring it back and we hook it up. Not repaired! So they took the TV back to their store where it sat for one month. At this time they were having store manager issues and my TV was forgotten. One of the tech's from the store decides to send it to a private repair center, where they have it for over a month. No one calls. I called the store and talked to the new store manager and he had no idea what was going on. So I personally call the repair store. After finally getting the name from the tech at the Durant location, I talk to him and he said, “Well, I haven't got to look at it.”

Now we are at one month and 20 days. I let him know what the issue is with the TV. He said he would look at it. Three more weeks go by. I now have been without the TV for 2 months. I only had two more payments (over $2200.00) and no one has a clue. So I find the head of the store management positions located in New York. I called him and he is outraged that no one has done anything about the TV. He told me to call the Aaron’s hotline. The next morning I get a call from Justin ** who is the Aaron’s regional manager for the area. I tell him the situation. I tell him that some repair center in Howe, Texas has my TV. He says give me a couple of days and I will get back to you.

Week goes by and I call. The store had picked up the TV and sent it back to Oklahoma City and that the TV was deemed not repairable. They were sending me a used TV of that quality. I then advised them that the TV was still under manufacturer’s warranty when brought in and that I hoped their service guys were Philips reps. He said they are. I asked why is Philips not the ones replacing the TV due to their warranty. They didn't have an answer for that. Now it has been 4 months. Philips deemed the set not repairable and sent Arron’s a credit.

Now this only took 1 week (first of September) for Aaron's to get the credit. I personally talked to the Philips rep that said the credit was issued. Now it has been 5 months that I have been without a TV that I paid over $2200.00 for. Not once was I ever called in this 5 month time. I had to instigate every contact made. I was told yesterday that a credit was issued for $999.99 for the TV they scraped. Justin then lets me know that he has to look at the price of the credit because he didn't want to ** the store out of a new TV or their profit margin (his exact words). He had the gall to say I need to be fair. I was upset but I remained calm.

I then called and asked the store manager since we have had so many problems, we could use the credit toward a new TV. I added that since we have been very understanding and calm about this foolish way that Aaron’s has handle this situation, they should offer the TV at the employee’s discount. The store manager said I am surprised you are even thinking of continuing business with Aaron’s. I told him well we have used Aaron’s to purchase most of our household furnishing, and until this it has been quite enjoyable. The store manager told me, “I don't have a problem with that; I think it’s only fair.” Let me run it by Justin, and I sure he will think the same.

Well, let me tell you what that ** said, "I will not lower the regular retail price under no circumstances.” I cannot believe after all that I had to do to get the TV looked at by Philips so their warranty would handle it, he wasn't even offering some help. I don't want a free TV. I’m just upset that I have paid the Aaron’s company $2200.00 for a $999.99 TV Justin is afraid of losing money.

I would sure hate the owner of the Aaron’s corporation to find out this ** is losing good, loyal customers over $450.00 that is the difference between the employee and retail price. After making a full 100% profit on the one before and I don't even have it. And the dumb ** doesn't realize if he would have treated us with some common courtesy, we would be right back in there in less than a month buying our daughter’s bed. Justin, you are what we call suit with skin—does your family know what you do? Bad thing is you don't even care! I am having a nervous breakdown. I have yet to receive any acceptable remedy to this situation.

That's when everything went downhill. We went in to get the TV and they informed us, my daughter had bought a computer from them and they put the charges on my account. So to get the TV I went ahead and paid it to get the TV, which I still feel that was not fair because I did not authorize the charges to be put on my account. So we got the TV. Three months after getting it, it quit playing. They took two weeks of fixing it but still wanted their payments on time.

After 4 more months, the bulb went out. It took 4 weeks to get that replaced. We asked for a loaner and they said they did not have one and Jason said a TV was not a necessity. But still again, they demanded payment when we could not use it. After all of this, I paid the account out in July 2010. When I did I ask Micheal to send the payoff papers, they never came. I called and spoke to Angela and she said if I wanted them come and get them. They do not mail them.

I asked about the warranty since I paid it early and she said it would be covered for 6 months. So here we are, in October it quit again. I called the store one more time and they informed me that Angela was wrong it was only covered for 60 days. I also had to call 6 times and they told me Kevin would call me back which he never did. I got someone else to call and used the reason that they wanted to rent something and then Kevin came to the phone to tell me he cannot help me in anyway, that I should have bought a extended warranty. I was not aware that they offered that or I would have surely purchased it on a TV that I have almost $3000.00 put into. Needless to say, after a washer dryer bedroom suite computer, I would think they would want to help. But you can bet, I will not purchase anything else from Aarons ever.

I began a lease to purchase several months ago. When the items were first delivered it was the wrong set. After 3 months the issue was resolved. One night at about 10:30 PM, David came to our door and we were taken back due to the time of night and the fact that he didn't knock but he was peering in our window at the door. He told us we were late on our payment and needed to pay immediately. Well, the payment he had was quite a bit more then we had agreed. He said he would get to the bottom of it with the store manager Chris, but to only go through him because Chris was "wet behind the ears" and didn't know what he was doing.

David returned with what we believed to be a fair payment amount and we paid him. This was to be the first of many, many visits. David would show up when my husband was out of town at 10 at night, call my cell phone from his cell phone all the way up until 10:30 at night and was just creepy.

Finally, after we realized that we weren't getting credits for the payments (besides the one check we had written) my husband had enough. This is when Chris the store manager stepped in. We felt we had gotten everything settled and would try and continue the business relationship we had with Aaron's. Then only 4 days later, while I was gone, my husband was in the shower and heard someone beating on the door.

When he finally got out and dressed, he saw a vehicle in our driveway. My husband went outside to investigate to find David down 3 houses talking to what we found out was the 3rd neighbor he had went to. Our neighbor told us that David had saw in him in his driveway and told him we were thieves, bums, and liars. He had said that we were worthless pieces of **.

We didn't know this until afterwards, but when my husband was walking towards David at the neighbor’s he heard a curse word and told David to get his car off of our property immediately and to not return. So David went to his car and my husband stayed to discover what David was saying. While walking home our neighbor directly next to us came out and said that he had came to their house as well. Two days later, while I was at work and my daughter and little sister who is 15 were at home, David returned to our house in his personal vehicle again and began beating on our door. My sister said after about 5 minutes she knew he wasn't going away, so she went to the door and said that the adults weren't home to please come back later. David then proceeded to tell my daughter and sister to stop lying and tell me to get outside.

When I got home they were extremely upset. That was it. I began looking for a new home so that this employee would stay away from my family. To scream through my front door like a lunatic is unacceptable. I had already complained to Chris the store manager about David's visits, the hours he was arriving at our home, etc., but nothing changed. I looked for a corporate number but the only option on their site is an email. I didn't want to email, so I didn't. I moved on September 14, 2010. Today, September 22, 2010, I took my son to school as I do every morning. As I was walking out, I came in front of David who was holding a little boy’s hand and walking. I didn't see him at first. I was texting and looked up to see him. I continued walking as he began screaming: "Have you got your court date yet, you stupid ** you and your punk of a ** husband?!”

He continued screaming, but I just kept walking. My husband wasn't with me and I didn't know what to do. I immediately got my cell phone and called my husband who is over 1000 miles away working. Then I got on the internet and searched for their corporate phone number and called it. I was still in tears, still furious, and didn't know what else to do. I filed an issue complaint, which she said she made urgent and that someone would contact me within 48/72 hours. I am terrified to go to the school alone. I don't know what else I can do. My son is only 4 years old and I am just beyond myself is how else to ensure our safety from this man. We moved. We are in complete fear for our safety. He is following us. He is harassing me at my son’s school. I don't know what else to do.

My fiance and I have leased and paid off two items from Aaron's, an hp laptop and a PS3. Our experience up to that point had been a pretty good one, except for the fact that we always made our payments on the 3rd of the month, which was in the computer, but yet we always had an associate calling us on the 1st telling us that our payment was due. Anyways, we decided to lease a TV from Aaron's in Jun of '09. When the associates came to deliver the TV, they set up everything good, and the TV showed a great picture.

After the associates left, we began having problems with the TV (the remote would not function properly, the TV would cut on and off by itself, the quality of the sound of the TV wasn't as good) so we called Aaron's and they delivered a new TV the next day. The associates who delivered the TV told us that is was brand new and that they were out of used ones but that we would still be charged the price for a used TV ($88/month). When we went to make our payment in July our payment had went up to $95 but we paid anyway because we were satisfied with our product.

A couple of months later our payment went up to $110 a month and still we continued to pay it. In April '10, my fiance got laid off and we started having to make payment arrangements. Up to this point we had been on time with all of our payments. We kept our arrangements and caught back up on our payments. In June, we began to move and while we were moving someone broke into our house and stole several items including the TV. I called the police and filed a police report and then notified Aaron's. We then came into the store and talked with the GM. We showed him the police report but he really didn't even look at it. He then told us that we still had to pay for the TV because they didn't have insurance on it and that at the beginning of our lease they told us to get insurance (which they did not.) So we told the GM that we would try to make payments on the TV but we didn't understand why we had to pay for a TV that we don't even have.

We asked Aaron's to please work with us considering the fact that we were good customers who had paid of two items with them before and the GM said that he would. We made sure we let the GM know that it would be hard for us to make payments because neither one of us was working and he said he understood and he would try to work something out with us. So July came and they sent out an associate to our house to collect the TV, I was like, "What TV?"

Our TV was stolen back in June and I had showed the GM the police report. The associate acted as if he was surprised to hear this and then got on his cellphone and called another associate. I could hear the other associate saying that we were supposed to have paid the balance of the TV in full as soon as it got stolen, which was untrue. I had never made any arrangements like that and I asked how was I supposed to pay the balance when I wasn't working and that we had been doing the best that we could paying them monthly with what we had, when really we are paying for something that we obviously don't have.

The associate said that we needed to come in to the store asap to discuss our balance and we told him that we did not have any money or any gas to drive to the store because the store was in NC and we lived in SC. The associate called the store again and talked with someone else, while on the phone he asked us when we thought that we might get to come in and we told him, so then he left. About a week later they came again and we went through the same thing(a different associate acting as if this is his first time of being notified that the TV was stolen). While all of this was going on we were still making payments, no they weren't the $110/mo that was due, but we were trying. This has been continuing to happen. Since then, they are coming every week.

A couple of weeks ago, they came when we were gone and left a tag on the door knob. We then went to my aunt's house to use the phone (because we don't have a house phone) and I told them that we would be coming in soon because I was expecting a personal check from a friend. At this time the associate began to lecture me on how we don't come into the office or call the office very much. I then explained to him the economy is bad and not everyone has a job like him that we don't have a phone and we try to contact them every chance we get, and that we've been having problems with our car. The associate then got a nasty attitude with me and rudely told me that a pay phone only costs 50 cent to use.

I then explained our financial situation to him again, and told him that we would be in asap. Since then I have had messages from friends and family saying that they are threatening to press charges on us for theft. This is ridiculous that they are trying to force us to pay for something that we don't have and I am no longer going to continue to try to pay for it. I have a police report stating that the TV was stolen therefore I don't have it in my possession and I am tired of feeling harassed. If Aaron's want to report it to the credit union I do not care anymore, I just want them to quit harassing me about something that I don't have. And for all of you that are considering leasing from Aaron's, I am advising you not to. I haven't heard anything but bad things about this company and this company is only greedy for money and will do whatever to get your money by all means necessary.

Three months later, we got it back. Well it still didn't work so I took it back to Aaron's, " the one we got it from" told them we were going to "Premier" and returned it in the same condition they had given it to us! No scratches! Now almost 3 years later, they are coming back saying it was never returned and my friend is sitting in jail for their mistakes!

I recently moved to Fayetteville, NC from Alabama. Now I had furniture from the Aaron's there and paid for and received amazing customer service. Now the first time I went into the Aaron's here, it is on Pamalee drive in Fayetteville, my husband and I walked out because we were never greeted to begin with. I called back and the young lady named Tabitha answered. I questioned her about the bedroom set we had looked at and her answer was, “Well, I don't know because the sets get moved around”. I then asked who would know and she huffed and said, “hold on” very rudely.

She came back and said I have to come back in the store and pick it out and when I went inside, it was still in the same location, where as it never got moved like she said. Now I did pick out a brand new set and she said I would get the bedroom suite off the floor because they didn't have any in stock and she reassured me it was brand new. And when I had picked out the furniture it should've been same day delivery because it was only 12noon when I was done filling out the paperwork. Now I got told that they would deliver it the next day (Friday) between 11am and 3pm.

I called at 2:30pm the following day to be told that their truck broke down but yet they don't call people to let them know they weren't delivering my furniture. And yet again it was Tabitha who I spoke with and got a very rude experience with her and I said that I wanted a refund because of her rudeness and how they couldn't do anything they said they could. Well her response is, “If this is a problem, you can come pick it up yourself” as rude as she could be. Then she put me on hold and came back and magically said, “Oh, we can deliver them today”.

Well after they delivered the furniture, the young man said on his way out, “Oh, I'm sure you heard about our truck problems by the way”, which was a comment not needed. Well my husband and I then go look at our "brand new" furniture and there's nothing new about it. There was wood chipped out on the big dresser and paint chippings on the others and they all had gashes in them looking like someone scratched them with a screwdriver. There were holes in the paneling on the back and my "brand new" mattresses had a big tear on it. Needless to say, I'm not happy at all. The delivery drivers never even gave us our receipts.

Then I called back to complain and the assistant manager said they'll pick it up first thing on Monday, and Tabitha had told her we wanted used furniture which was never the case and even used, “I'm sure Aaron's never wouldv'e sold this crap”. Well they hadn't shown up by noon so we went up there and the manager said it would be picked up tonight at 7. Now its 8:51pm, Monday night and they said they're scheduled to pick up my furniture tomorrow, after I spoke to the manager today in the store who had said she wouldn't even be there today and she said I would get a full refund.

Well, I'm now without my money and have damaged furniture in my home. The delivery guys also left trash all in my yard. Well the manager asked where we lived and they said they thought our house was on base and they're the ones that delivered before so they are playing games. I ended up getting furniture from the other Aaron's on Hope Mills road and their service isn't good either. One the young ladies never greeted us either until some employees came back from lunch and told them to come over to us and the girl looked like she was zoned out on something.

She wasn't listening because just like Tabitha, she put us down for wrong furniture which was only the mattress and boxspring so we have to wait a week until the rest of the furniture comes in Friday, and we got supposedly same day delivery and they said they'd be here tonight by 4pm and it's now 9:03pm and no furniture is here. Surprise, surprise.

Every time I call, it's a problem with these people and I want something done about this. I am trying to get the president of Aaron's contact info because I'm taking this the highest I can go. My husband has taken pictures of all the furniture. This is ridiculous. And its 9:17pm and I just called the Hope Mills location to see where my furniture is and no one answered and they never called to say they were not delivering tonight.

So now I'm highly upset and I don't even want to pay for my furniture and don't feel like I should after what I've been through with not one, but two locations. I've never experienced customer service at its lowest and I believe Aaron's should now be on the top 5 of worst service ever and it has left a bad taste in my mouth. I even had taken off Friday for this and I am more than upset about this and I'm sure you understand why. They also scratched my newly painted cream walls when moving things in. I'm at home with torn furniture and missing $200 from my bank, being they were supposed to refund me for the damaged furniture and then $60 something from furniture never delivered.

For about a year now, I've been paying on a 32-inch LG Flat screen from Aaron's. Up until recently, I've always received good customer service from this location. I failed one payment behind as of 7/15/10 on my account. I wouldn't have any funds available until 7/30/10 when I got paid. On 7/30/10, I went online to look at my bank account and noticed an unauthorized payment from Aaron's. I knew I hadn't made any postdated payment since my last payment on 7/3/10. So I called the store and talked to the gentleman who normally helps me, but he couldn't explain why there was an unauthorized payment on my account. I explain that I do understand that I owe a payment on the account, but that doesn't give Aaron's the right to just run a payment to my account. He stated he would have my account reviewed and I should receive a call back.

Today, 8/4/10, I received a very rude message from a rep stating that I was running 15 days behind and Aaron's does not handle business this way and that I needed to call the store. He left the number and hung up! Needless to say, I was very upset! That's no way to conduct business. I do understand that I owe on the account, but you can collect and be professional at the same time. I called the store manager, talked to Bob and explained to him what happened when one of his rep called me and left such an unprofessional message. He asked me if I have the rep's name, I advised that I couldn't understand his name but I saved the message on my cell and could play it back for him. He said that he would broadcast to the collections team of my complaint since I didn't have the name of the rep who left the message.

Concerning the unauthorized payment out of my account, he really couldn't give me an answer as to why, but will review my account and try to see what happened. At this point, I'm feeling that I don't want to do business with this location. There's too much fraud going on nowadays for unauthorized payments to be posted to my account. Their system keeps a record of the last credit card used, so I know that's how the transaction was processed. In the past, I've always used the same card when making a payment. F.D.C.P.A. laws were broken today with this location! I will say that the store manager (Bob) was very nice and he was professional.

I was told that it was less than six months old when I purchased it, along with a stand, with the stand cost me $1,219.87. They gave me a thirty day warranty on the set and sixty days after I had purchased it, it started giving me problems. The sound would automatically go off by itself and when I first turn it on, all I could get was a menu, which would stay on for at least ten minutes before I could get it off by pushing the exit button on the remote.

I called Aaron's and told them about it. The woman who answered the phone told me very abruptly that I had purchased a used television and they were not responsible, so I would have to call a repairman. I then went home and called Philips Home Company with their 800 number and gave them the serial number. They said the set was six years old. I have been fighting this now for the past year and it keeps getting worse gradually. I finally called a television repair to come out and look at the set, and they said that there was a module which needed replacing. It would cost almost five hundred dollars to repair the six year old television set. I refused to spend that on the set and they suggested that I call Aaron's or go over to them to demand a refund or another television set, but because I have been treated so rudely by them, I refused to do that. I, in turn, purchased a new Panasonic television set, fifty inch, which they are going to deliver to me tomorrow. I did not purchase it from Aaron's.

I realized that this is not your fault that I was misled, so terribly, and screwed so badly by Aaron's television and appliance. But you should know that you should not have any dealer selling you products that would lie to their customers in this fashion. I am going to write to our Attorney General's office and let them know just what occurred. I hope they put a real black mark on Aaron's Television and Appliance. It puts a very bad name on your products. I would never recommend anyone else to purchase anything from Aaron's nor would I ever darken their door again. I paid cash for the set and therefore, I have no recourse. I just simply felt that you needed to know what took place and how your Philips name has developed a very bad name with me. Therefore, I would never purchase another Philips products. I sure would appreciate if you would contact them and let them know that I have been screwed royally by them and will tell everybody I know what has happened. Thank you for reading my complaint.

In July, when I signed a lease agreement with Aaron's Lease, my account was set up for monthly draft. In late November, I switched banks and received a phone call from Aaron's collection rep requesting a payment for November, as I did not change banking information with the company. I provided my new banking information and remained on the phone while my payment was processed, and I also gave consent for this new account to be drafted in accordance with the terms of my agreement.

In December, my family and I moved and failed to provide the new address to Aaron's. When arriving to work today, I was called in for a meeting to discuss and be warned in relation to company policies in regards to the inappropriate manner in which Aaron's has been attempting to reach me through my job. I was informed that Aaron's had left several door hangers with my name on them and request for contact in the office and in the building which is also shared by a bank, an attorney's office, and our financial group.

Numerous calls had been made to my sales manager's cell phone, a phone number that I never gave or listed as a reference, and that faxed copies of my lease agreement displaying my personal information--address, social security number, income amounts for me, living status, ie, rent or lease and landlords name and number with the amount of payment, spouse's information and social, job address income, work address and employer--had been coming into the company's open and community fax area for the entire week.

A coworker informed me of this prior to this meeting, also stating that a client and former neighbor, who used to be a friend of mine, had called in and complained that Aaron's had left a hanger on her door with my name and information. I spoke with this neighbor the night before and was aware of this. As I was receiving this information from my district manager, I was called from the meeting to the reception area by the administrative assistant, because another representative from Aaron's was in the office with more door hangers and was asking for me.

I asked the rep. to follow me to the elevator and outside when I began to immediately stress to him that this is my place of business and that they could not come there nor call my managers. I told the representative that I called the bank the night before when I found out that they left a hanger with my name on it at a neighbor's house and was aware that there must be a problem with the draft because the bank said that no attempt had been made to draft from Aaron's after the last payment I had made when giving my new account information in early December. I explained to the rep that I was in trouble with my job because of the way they were trying to contact me.

The rep apologized and said that he was not from the store where I had the agreement but that he would call the manager for me on his cell phone. When the manager, Scott **, answered the phone, I stated my name and said that I needed to resolve whatever the issue was with my account, I could update information and that I was at work and in great trouble due to the way they were trying to reach me. We reviewed the December payment, and then he explained to me that they can no longer authorize drafts by phone, that they used to do it that way but now needed an imprint of my card for continuous drafts.

I requested the amount due and stated that I could pay it by card as soon as I got out of the office. I asked why they did not mail something to me, that my mail has been forwarded. And he said that they do not do that, that they could not reach me by phone and knew I moved. He asked for other numbers and wanted to get a collection rep on the call to talk about the December billing.

I informed him again that I was at work and that left a disciplinary meeting to handle this and explained the disciplinary meeting was about their calls and faxes. I told him I would come in later and clear up the issue with the card, that I was aware that they couldn't reach me, because my cell phone had been off for a little while and we had a new number.

I then asked how he was going to handle the inappropriate manner in which they were calling my job and making trouble for me at work. Scott began to tell me that he had sent the fax, instructed the reps to come out to my job, found my new address through forwarding mail in my mail box at the old address, and would call whoever and do whatever he had to do in regards to people like me who do not pay their bill on time.

I asked Scott if he was aware of collection laws and ethics and if he knew that he could not fax my personal information to an open community fax nor harass or give details of my account to people who knew me. He said he had called my son's daycare and talked to people about me there, called my boss and would continue in anyway necessary, because I should pay on time and should have told him I moved.

I again told him that I would pay the bill or they could run my card at this time, but that I would also be seeking action for his behavior, because I felt he was harassing me. I told him that I would pay what I owe or return the TV. Scott stated to me that he had just came in the office from court and that he deals with people like me everyday, to go ahead and keep the TV, and he'd be glad to see me in court. I asked him what he meant by "people like me," and he said, "You, people just like you, I should call the police and send them to your job and have you hauled off."

At that time, I informed him that my close friend is a DA in the county, and if I lost my job behind this, I'd be seeing him in court for this behavior. He told me that he was going to send the police to my job and have me hauled off for stealing. I told him if that happened, I would see him in court and then ended the phone call and told the rep that I would call into the office and make the payment and then go in on the weekend and provide the card and to please not return to my job, call my managers, fax my information or talk to people at my son's school about my account.

When at home this evening, I opened the patio door on the deck of my house to let the dog out and thought that I saw someone standing on the deck in the shadows. I let the dog out, cracked the door, and continued working on my laptop with my back to the door when Scott began pounding on the back door and stuck his head in the doorway to the house. I jumped up, as my kids began to scream, because he had started to come in the patio door, and instructed my children to go upstairs and get their father, as I asked who he was and why he was on my back deck in the dark. He identified his self as Scott, the manager from Aaron's, and stated to me that he could come anywhere on the property that he wanted and knock on any door or window he chose.

I asked him why he didn't ring the bell on the front door or the bell on the side door where the porch lights are. He told me again that he could knock where he wanted and chose which entrance to my home that he wanted, according to the agreement I signed. I put my hand up, as he was stepping forward to enter my home and told him to get off my porch and go to the front door, that he was scaring me and that I was going upstairs to get my husband. When I said I was getting my husband, he smirked as if he thought I was home with just the children.

He went to the front door and rang the bell. Again, I answered and asked him why he scared me and why he didn't use that door initially rather than walk through the yard to the back-wooded area. Again, I asked him to step back until my husband came, because he smelled like alcohol. He said he hadn't been drinking and that he didn't know the DA I mentioned earlier, and that I had made that up. I shut the door and got my husband.

When my husband came to the door, he also asked him why he was on our deck in the dark, stated that he smelled like alcohol and that his pupils were large. He asked him what was wrong with him, as his pupils were huge and he was loud. Scott stated that it was people like us who were his problem, people who don't pay.

My husband offered to make the payment and told Scott that he wanted him to leave, but Scott said that he would not take the payment and that it was too late for all that. We began a discussion about how it is only one payment that is due and one pending in a few days. Rather than have the situation escalate, I told Scott to get away from our door, that I was calling the police, and then instructed the other salesman who was in the yard to come in and get the TV.

Scott began to tell me that he didn't care and he'd take a breathalyzer test. While the other salesman was breaking down the television, I called the police and was instructed to have them wait to take it outside until an officer arrived. The officer came out and did a alcohol test on Scott and filed a report, and I allowed the unit to be removed from my home. I called the office where I rented the TV and tried to find out information as to who's Scott's manager was but was told that he runs the store and there is no one above him.

Later that night, upon checking my bank account, I found that Aaron's had ran and processed a payment for the amount that was due. Mr. ** had told me on the phone that he could not take my payment, as they had to have an imprint of the card, but yet and still he ran the payment prior to 5pm, confirmed the payment, and then was on my back porch at 7pm to collect the TV.

I was not aware that the payment had been made and am now confident that Mr. ** is harassing me. Why did he come to my home if he knew he processed payment for what was due? At this point in time, my concern is not about the loss of the television but rather the strong-arm harassing techniques used to get in touch with me and the harassment, embarrassment, and humiliation I've received in my experience with Aaron's.

My personal identifying information as well as my husband's has been faxed numerous times to a community fax machine. I have 6 copies from the last 2 days presented to me by my district manager from today alone, and agents in my office have left copies on my desk, my sales manager was contacted numerous times on a cell phone number that I did not provide to this company, which may be a bill that I should not have to incur, staff at my son's school are complaining to me about calls from Aaron's and are now privy to information that should have been private.

I have only been on my job for one year and have just entered into management. And now, I have a disciplinary mark on my file for door hangers, harassing calls and visits, and personal faxes from Aaron's. At what length will this company go for contact and collection? And the sad part is that I offered to settle the balance that was due, had previously given a method of automatic payment, and simply requested they use ethical practices in their efforts to reach me.

If Mr. Scott ** is the final voice of Aaron's, I feel that someone should look out for and at the least warn the consumers they serve, that in doing business there, if they can't reach you, you may lose your job, everyone you know that they can find will know your business, and they will subject you to identity theft.

I have 2 issues with the company. The first one is that back around April or May of 09,I received a 37 in. Flat panel widescreen TV from Aaron's. I was told it was new. My contract with them showed it was. "Tha'ts what was printed in the contract." It had a built-in DVD player. On the 2nd of the next month, I called to tell them that the DVD player would not work right and to pay my payment with my debit card. When I told them about the DVD player not working I was told that the manager will be in contact with me to solve the problem. Well, I never received a call from him. I called again about a week later and again, I was told that I would get a call from him. I didn't. On the 17th, I called again and talked to a girl named Marry. Once again, I was told that the manager would give me a call to fix the problem.

On the 19th,I received a bill saying that I had not made a payment which, I remind you, that I did so on the 2nd.of that month. Well on the 1st of the next month, I called Aaron's once again. But this time, I told them the problem with the TV and told them just to come and get it because I was tired of the runaround I was getting from them to get it fixed. They showed up 2 days later with another TV and I told them that I no longer wished to do business with them and that I didn't want it. It seemed that after a month of calling and complaining about the TV and getting nothing done, that when I told them that I was through dealing with them, they decided to fix the problem by replacing the TV. It took me to tell them that I wished to no longer do business with them before they did anything about it.

The second issue is that my old washer broke down and because I don't have the money to go out and buy a new one, I had to resort to renting from Aaron's once again. They told me because of the issue about the TV that they would give me a good deal on a pre-leased washer and dryer. I needed it so I agreed. Last month, I ran into some money problems and made arrangements with them to catch up on it this month. On Friday the 8th, I received a call on my answering machine from Chris, "Gen.Manager" to please return his call to make some arrangements to pay them or if not to make arrangements for them to pick it up. When you fill out the paper work to rent or buy from Aaron's you have to give them 5 contact numbers in case you try to skip out and not pay for what you got. When I received the message it was too late that day to call them back.

Anyway, within about 15 minutes of Chris' leaving the message, he started calling my contacts bothering them. Come Monday, I called Aaron's and talked to a salesman named Jeff. I asked for Chris and was told he was busy with a customer. This was at 10 am. I left a message with Jeff for Chris to call me. I know when Chris started calling my contact, it was in a way for him to harass them so they would call me and get mad at me. When Chris called my contact number, he asked if they had my telephone number. Aaron's has my number. It's right on the front of my contact above the delivery date. I have never tried to dodge their calls to me. He had no reason whatsoever to contact anybody.

I have called Aaron's 3 times since Monday to talk to Chris, and just like when I had problems with the TV, he never returns my calls. I was told I was getting a good deal on this washer and dryer. I'm not. They are used. I decided to go online to the Amana website to see how much the washer and dryer was going to cost if I were to buy it new. Let me tell you that I was floored when I found out that I am being charged more for a used washer and dryer that it cost new. I looked up the same models, the exact same models. And this is what I found. Aarons is charging me $365 for a used washer. I could get a new one for $364. They are charging me $326 for a used dryer. I can get a new one for $309.

I believe they are charging me new prices for used items. You do the math. Does it sound like I'm getting a good deal? To be honest, I think I'm being ripped off. I don't know if anything can be done about this. As far as I know, whoever had it before me could have had it for 6 or 7 months. This is the way my contract reads. I am to pay $68.77 a month for 18 months. With the fees and everything, at the end of that 18 months and it's paid off, it will be a total of $1.237.86. The total of the washer and dryer without the fees is $692.88. I believe that if you do the checking you will find that I am paying new prices on used stuff. Thank you for your time. If you need anymore info on this, I am willing to provide anything I can.

Then I was told last month the actual payoff amount. I paid that amount via their VIP web site and now they are calling for a payment again! I am seeking the advice of an attorney and have filed complaints with the BBB and AG. These people are not only crude but are absolutely a bunch of liars. I would get an average of 6 calls a day.

I was going to go and pay you guys as soonest I got paid. I know I had late fee so it didn't matter for me to be in time. Well Joel called me at work saying I needed to pay. I told him that I would go to the store and pay, and then I told him to please not call me at work because the company records conversation. He was very rude and told me that if I didn't want him to call me at work, to answer my calls.

I got upset and I told him I was going to return the computer because of his attitude. He told me to do whatever I want. When I went to return the computer, he was rude. I got upset and told him that was not the way to treat customers and that he should have some customer service skills. Well he told me he was going to call the police on me. I never had problems with any of the guys there for Christian is super nice and Alex, another guy I don't remember the name right now. I am in the process of rent to own with Aaron's in Va., and as you know, you are forced to carry the warranty at your expense. Recently my computer started acting up after 4 months and kept getting an error, which says: "Do you want to run this script?" I would press Yes and continue on, but this became annoying after a while. Afterwards, I tried to start the computer and got a black screen that said: "Boot disc error".

I took it back to the store and asked for a loaner, but they said they did not have any. Then they accused me of removing some programs. I told them I did not, so they proceeded to open the computer when that didn't work. Then they accused me of letting someone spill something on the computer. Not true. I said just keep the computer. They said I would still owe them and I said I would take it to another computer repair and get a statement that the above was not true. And then they said, if I did, it would cancel my warranty.

So, I have a non-working computer, one they say I have to continue to pay for, accusing me of harming the computer, that they say I still have to pay for. At this point, I said they could keep the computer, and they said, “We will charge you for the repair, and you still have to pay us back”.

I was also told that if I haven't made at least 4 payments and if they would have let me return it, they will report it to the credit bureau. The 4-month return applies to any item that you rent to own. So, if you don't need good or any credit to purchase, how can they make a report to the Credit bureau for something that you return? Isn't it “Rent to own”? I don't own it until it is paid for, so doesn't that make it their property?

I have contacted the corporate office. No reply at this point. Thanks.

On May 5, 2009, I leased a bedroom set, 2 flat screen TV and a blu-ray player. I lost my job due to medical reasons and was forced to move to South Carolina to live with friends. I took the flat screen TVs and the blu-ray with me to SC. The rest of my belongings I put in storage in FL. I was unable to continue to pay on the items from Aaron's and the storage unit, so I contacted Aaron's and told them that they could go to the storage unit and take possession of the bedroom set and requested that they do it by Nov. 18th due to the fact that the storage unit would be security locked due to my inability to pay for the unit. Aaron's arrived there on the the 19th because they were unable to get there on the 18th.

A friend of mine unlocked the lock on the door and the Aaron's employee yanked the door open. This caused stuff to start falling in the unit. After things stopped falling, the Aaron's employee noticed that one of the dresser drawers were broken and called his manager. The manager came to the storage unit and informed my friend that they could not take back broken items that now I would have to pay for it. These items were not broken when they were put into storage and to top that off, they even broke some of my personal property in the process. Now Aaron's is calling me everyday demanding that I make a payment on these items and are threatening to file criminal charges against me for theft. I did return a flat screen TV and blu-ray to the Aaron's store in SC as was requested by the FL store.

On the lease agreement, each item is listed with its own price showing that I leased each item separately. I told the manager from the FL store that he should have taken the items that were not broken. He stated that he could not resell them now and that I had to pay for everything. He continued to call me a thief and threatened to put me in jail. I told him that I am not trying to deprive Aaron's of their property and that he should have taken the items back when I requested him to do so. Aaron's was aware that when they came to the storage unit, that I would be losing everything in there (including their items) on that date because of me being unable to continue to pay on the storage unit.

They knew that as of the 18th of November, anything that was in that storage unit would be lost. They just refused to take back their items just so they could try to force me to pay for them, knowing that I did not have the means any longer. They broke the items and now they want me to pay for item. I have seen a lot of stuff about Aaron's and none of it has been good, seems like Aaron's like to try to force people into doing stuff that they don't want; selling used items as new, etc. They even go to people's houses, bang on doors and windows and even enter their home without consent. Well if they show up at my home doing such, my boyfriend won't have a problem with putting a bullet in them for trespassing and threats.

So they replaced it and again the TV broke, and they took it to replace it but they broke it even more. Our last payment was in Oct., but we refused to make it till we had a watchable TV in our home. Just now, they called and said we owe $194.00. Our last payment was $79.00. I told the guy I was not paying $194.00 then I hung up on the guy.

They broke the TV and expected us to keep a broken TV? And now they want us to pay $194.00 for this broken TV when the last payment was only $79.00. Even the manager at the store agreed that we would put the last payment off until a replacement TV that was acceptable to us was in our home. Anyone have any advice on how to go about getting help to fix this? I wrote an email complaint last month but have heard nothing back, yet. But they are harassing us. What can they do if we refuse to finish paying because they want us to keep a broken TV? They broke it? The delivery people broke it when they took it or dropped it off but it was in their care when it happened? And now they are trying to charge us more and it is not right.

I always told them, "I am never late and I always pay, stop calling me." One day, they got very aggressive and started to lecture me about the importance of paying on time, though my bill was not late. I told the guy to keep that to himself and stop bothering me. He called over and over and over again. Eventually my boyfriend took the call and asked for the guy's name. He said, "Edwin." He asked if he was a manager, and he said that he was. He then explained that the payment was due, and that he was in violation of the fair debt collection by calling us this way.

Edwin started cussing, yelling, calling him names and then threatened to come over and "take his **." My boyfriend asked if he was threatening us with physical violence and Edwin said, "**, yea I am." So we called the police, and filed a report. The next day we called corporate, who said they had already fired Edwin alluding that they had had these problems before, and reading the complaints, I believe that they have. They told me that they would look into some way of compensating me for the trouble, but since then have never called me back. I believe they were just lying to me, to get me off the phone. I have called since and was told, "We are sorry this happened, but you owe the money, you signed the contract and if you don't pay us, we will take actions."

Now, I have paid. I am not holding payments back. I am just asking that my contract be reduced as compensation for the threats and harassment which are both violations of the federal law. What they did was a crime, not just bad business practice. Currently I am awaiting the results of my complaints to the BBB and the FTC, which I expect will be nothing.

I asked for an explanation, seeing that I had a cancelled check for what I had been told was the "Paid in full" amount in Oct. He then went on to explain that the balance was still due, no matter what I said, and the phone calls to my home and work would not stop until the payment was made. My mother-in-law at the same time purchased a dishwasher and was late one day on her payment because we could not drive to the store. She is in her eighties and misplaced the money. They were very rude to her and took the dishwasher. And even though I was ahead on my payments by 2 weeks, they said I had to have done something to the computer so they took the loaner and that is the last I ever heard from them.

I and my mother in law were called some bad names also by the man who picked up the merchandise, even though I helped him get the computer back in to the boxes I had saved for it. May 28, 2009 is the day I will never forget. My mother in law was upset for several weeks. We paid $1,600 before they picked up the computer that we no longer have.

I am an existing customer, and on 9/03/09, I went into Aarons and saw a 42 inches JVC HDTV that was advertised as “you get a free 30 GB iPod with TV lease purchase.” It has been 4 weeks and still no iPod. I think this company is making false claims. I also received a letter that states that my iPod was shipped out 9/11/09, so I called the Atlanta HQ. The woman was rude and told me that the letter was generated after a purchase and that the iPod was not shipped and said that it would be shipped. I asked her if sending letters saying that products were shipped - when in fact, it wasn’t - was making a false claim, and she said nope. She then said, “Well, I’m not going to argue with you.” This company has many complaints across the country. Something needs to be done about them.

They didn't give me a remote with the television I had rented. I couldn't watch a full screen. I kept getting the runaround about where the remote was, who was gonna bring me another, etc. I was tired of being lied to, so I posted a comment on here. This morning, I called Aaron's again to find out where my remote was. Bob paid my bill for the next month, apologized up one side and down the other, and is bringing me a new remote.

I have not been hurt, so to speak by this company. But I am upset by their practices. I have been a customer of Aaron's for over a year. I have always paid on time, no problem. Every month, I receive a phone call asking me why I haven't paid my bill. My bill from the very beginning was set up for the 3rd of every month. Their response was "Oh well, it's not here in the computer."

I traded in a 60-inch TV for a 32-inch LCD flat screen to lower my payments each month. I was scheduled to have it on a Friday (Labor Day weekend) after 3. At 6, I called the store and talked to the manager. He said he was sorry and that they got swamped and how about Tuesday. Ok, fine. By the way, I paid for the TV on that Friday. So Tuesday morning rolled around, and I got a phone call asking why I haven't paid the bill on either TV. I explained, and she said, "Well, when are they supposed to be out? Today?" I said I didn't know but would appreciate it if they could come out before 1pm as I have things to do. She said yes and noted that my account was paid.

Just before 1pm, they showed up, took out the old TV, and brought in the new one with no remote. The screen is stuck on "narrow," I can't adjust color, etc. without the remote. So I called and talked to Bob, the manager, and he said that the remote was in the truck. The delivery guys said no one could find it. He would get another one and have someone bring it out to me, as the delivery guys were on their way out of town.

2 hours later, I called to see if anyone was coming out. A woman named Jerry said she didn't know why he would tell me that as they are all booked up for the day but that I could drive into town and pick it up if I wanted to. So I said, "I guess I will have to." So, I drove into town and went into the store, and nobody was there. I had to holler for someone. Jerry came out and said she didn't hear me come in. I asked for the remote, and she said she didn't know where he put it. She couldn't find it and couldn't reach the manager Bob. She said she would go to Wal-Mart and buy me a universal remote, so I could at least get a larger picture and sound control. She stated she would have it to my house no later than 7pm.

Guess what, their store closes at 7pm and she didn't show up nor did the manager Bob call and apologize or anything. Granted we don't have a huge account with them, but is this good business practice? I will be spreading the word that Bob and his team at Aaron's in Manchester are liars and don't keep their word. As for a remote for the TV I am paying for monthly?

My daughter is leasing a piece of equipment from Aaron's and I was listed as a reference. On Friday, August 21st, I received a voicemail from Danny who works with the company asking that I give my daughter the message that he called. I relayed the message to her. On Saturday afternoon, I received another phone call from Danny. This time, I answered my phone and he asked if I had a daughter named Maisha. I said yes. Being very rude, he asked if I gave her his message the day before. I said yes, I did. He then said to me, "Oh you did huh?" I said yes, I did. He then said to me, "Well give her this message. Thou shall not steal." I hung up on him. I thought, how rude. So, I went to the store thinking that if I speak with his manager and complained about how rude that was, I would get some sort of apology.

I went into the store and asked to speak with the manager. When the manager came to the counter, I went on to explain how I received this phone call from a member of his staff who was very rude. I told him I was only a reference here and he had no right to speak to me in that tone. The owner said to me, "I don't know what you are talking about. You're not making any sense" and he walked away from me. At this point, I was very flustered. I just wanted him to say, "Okay ma'am, I apologize for my employee. You are not the customer and it will never happen again." Honestly, the way they spoke to me, they should not be allowed to speak to anyone. All they are supposed to do when they call a reference is ask that we take a message.

I spoke with Danny and he said that he couldn't get in touch with my daughter so he called me and as long as she had his merchandise, he could talk to me anyway he wanted to. He began to tell me how she was not paying the bill and she left with his equipment. These are things you only discuss with your customer, but he wanted me to know it all. I've worked on credit and collections for 20 years and I know it is against the law to discuss a person's credit matters with anyone other than them. It was like since I am her mother, they wanted me to be accountable for this bill and for her actions. I couldn't believe how rude he was being.

At that point, my daughter called and I left the office. When I left the office, another gentleman Jason began to share with me also about my daughter's payment problems with their company. The manager walked back in and said, waving his hand at me, "Lady, leave my store. I have no time for you." He said to me, "I thought since you are her mother, you would care. I see that you are not a kind of mother. Just leave my store. Your daughter is a thief." I called him a ** and left. That's the only thing I could think to do. I left there angry to tears. The only thing I could think to do is write someone who I thought may at least let them know that if they are going to serve the pubic, they need some serious training on customer service. I deserve an apology from someone.

I am currently leasing a front load washer and dryer from Aaron's. When the product was delivered, the delivery persons had the responsibility of hooking the washer and dryer up and ensuring that the product was working properly. After having the product (which was a replacement for a previous failed set) for a week or so, the washer was not hooked up properly and water spilled out for the second time all over the carpets in my home. I called Aaron's and they informed me that someone would come to my home the next day before 7 pm. I informed them of the damages and that someone would need to bring something that could dry up the water in my home. I told them the conditions that my children and I were living in due to the water. The water has caused damages to the cabinets in my kitchen because the water actually seeped through the walls.

When the delivery crew showed up at my home, they didn't have anything to get the water up. I called the store and someone was sent to my home an hour later with a rug doctor. Most of the water was soaked up but a day later, the carpet is still wet and the smell of water sitting for two days is horrible. I know that this will cause mold and mildew to the carpet, the flooring under the carpet and the cabinets. I sent out a complaint two times to Aaron's via email insisting that someone from their corporate office contact me to no avail.

I leased to own a RCA 61-inch integrated HD widescreen TV from my local Aaron's. Within two weeks from the time the TV was delivered, I began having problems with the TV. At first, the TV was making a loud high pitched noise so I called Aaron's and spoke to Heather who got the store manager on the phone for me. I was told by the manager that he knew what was causing the noise, and that he would send someone out to take care of the problem. A couple of weeks later, a delivery person, not a TV repair person, showed up and told me that he was going to remove the back cover from my TV and cut a couple of wire ties and that would fix the noise. The delivery person said that they had been having this same problem with a lot of TVs; it was caused by some of the wires being pulled too tight by the wire ties.

The noise did go away for a while after the wire ties were cut. However, within a couple of months, the noise was back. I called again and spoke to Heather who had the manager call me back later. The manager explained that they were very busy and shorthanded so if I was willing, he would tell me how to check for more wire ties that may need to be cut. I told the manager no, that I did not want to risk messing up the TV; I am not a TV repair man. The manager said well the TV will be okay for now, and he would send someone as soon as he could.

Two or three weeks later, the delivery person came back and cut a couple more wire ties. Once again, the TV was fine for a few months this time. The TV started making the noise again but this time, there was also a loud popping noise and the power to the TV would not come back on. I called the store again and explained the problem to Heather who got the manager on the phone, and he said they would pick up the TV and send it to be fixed. It took about two weeks before they picked up the TV, and then it was gone for over three months before I got it back. I was a little worried about the TV going out again after I paid it off. The manager said don’t worry the TV is like new now; they had to replace the computer.

About three months later, the same thing happened again - the loud high pitched noise and then the loud pop then no power. So I called Aaron's again and was told by Scott the store manager that since the TV was paid off, that he would have to check with his supervisor to see what they could do for me. I said, “Why would you not fix the TV? It’s the same problem that I have had with the TV ever since you delivered it to me. It’s not something new; it’s the same thing.” Scott said that he understood, but he would still have to get an okay from his boss. Scott also told me that they don’t even carry these TVs anymore due to all the problems they had been having with them.

About three weeks later, Scott called and said he got the okay to have my TV fixed. They picked it up a week later and once again, it was gone over three months. I asked Scott if I could get a different TV of the same value to replace mine so I wouldn't have to worry about having any more problems, and he said, “No, we can’t do that.” Well this time, the TV only lasted two weeks and the same thing happened again. I called Scott and told him that it did it again and that I was really upset and wanted the TV replaced. I said I want another TV or if you can get someone else to fix this one so that it will not go out again. Scott said that he would see what he could do and even said he was going to call the repair service to find out if they could tell him why the computer keeps going out. Scott also said he was going to check with RCA to see if there was any recall on this TV.

I waited a week then called back. Scott was in a meeting so I left a message; he never returned my call. In fact, I called several times over the next three to four weeks and left message after message and he never called back. My wife then called about a week after my last call, and Scott talked to her and said there was no recall and that there was nothing they could do. I am stuck with a $3,000.00 TV that does not work. All I want is a TV of the same value that works. The TV I have spent more time in the shop or waiting to be picked up than I was able to watch it. I think for $3,000.00, you would be able to count on a TV to work, right? I am just asking for what I paid for and never got. I am left with a $3,000.00 TV that never worked right from day one and that I tried to get replaced several times, but Aaron's refused to do that even before the TV was paid for. Now, I will have to buy another TV that I cannot afford.

I wanted to alert you folks about a particularly predatory merchant. My daughter, a disabled American veteran (not related to her service, but she is now 100% disabled) recently moved back west from Louisville, KY. She had an account with Aaron's furniture there. She bought first an expensive couch, and at first had no complaint. After the couch, she bought two matching chairs. At the time she left Louisville, she had only one payment left of $35. She gave my address for her forwarding address and stayed with me for six weeks. She paid off the two chairs.

Suddenly, Aaron's was coming after her with teeth! I didn't yet have her new phone number and address, as she had just moved. Aaron's called me, made threats, called incessantly and in fact, scared me once into an ER visit because they said they had a criminal warrant for her arrest! My daughter was an Army MP, and subsequently worked in law enforcement. She values both her credit record and her reputation. I was only able to reach her by sending a frantic email about the warrant. I am myself retired, 70 years old and also 100% disabled. This morning, she went on line to check her bank and found that without her authorization, they put through a $105 demand for a bill she no longer owed! She is now short that money and will have to go fight them for it. But she will fight them!

This is not the only outrage. They are now so common as to be not particularly noticeable or unusual. At the same time, she had her credit card stolen, they had the woman who stole it on videotape and the police refused to prosecute because she was an illegal alien! They said it wouldn't work because she would bail back to Mexico the second she got bailed out. The woman maxed out her credit card. Eventually, she got the money back but could have done without the stress. Please go to the rip off site and see all the complaints against Aaron's nationwide. Other companies are listed also. You probably cannot help my daughter or me but at least, you can warn people against this damn filthy, lying collection people for Aaron's.

They lied. They scared a usually cool, older disabled lady into an ER visit. I could have died of shock. My heart cannot take shocks such as that. For them to threaten her like that was unconscionable! I hate their guts and how did we get here? How is it possible that merchants or other entities can reach into a checking account and rip people off? It also happened to me several years ago when again, I did not owe the money. They destroy people's credit and put them in distress. And what's worse, they simply don't care! What kind of person can get off on treating people this way? Will the greater controls to be enforced in 2010 take care of some of these problems?

I said okay and he and the guy he's with took my TV with the understanding that on the following Tuesday, they would return with a new TV. Tuesday came and the guy that was with Neil on Saturday showed up with a different guy. He proceeded to unload a dirty used TV. I told him to take it back as I am supposed to be getting a new TV. He called the store, had a smoke and left. I figured there was a mistake when they loaded it. He told me that there is no mistake, that Aaron's had breached the contract, and I should get a refund and go to Spokane Discounts and buy a new one.

That is what I think would be best, as per their representative. John, a man claiming to be a manager, called later. He said they are going to repair it but that the slightest bump can cause it to happen again. They are hauling this sensitive piece of equipment around in their truck, bouncing all over the place and they expect me to make my last payment, void the warranty and take a Mabry fix, maybe not fixed TV. He promised a loaner before 1pm today. I would feel better if they kept it, sold it to someone else and refunded our money. I still have no TV. It is 1:55 pm, and no sign of Aaron's. We are buying a TV from Aaron’s and have been paying on it for a year. Lately we haven't been able to pay on the 15th. We have been getting phone calls with very threatening messages and our children have to hear this. When you call them back to tell them you will be in to make payment they don't want to work with you; they want it right now. My husband Terry gave them a check to hold till that Friday - that was the only way they would quit harassing us. They promised to hold it, but they put it through and caused us to have checks come back. They tried to say they didn't put the check in before Friday but my husband got a copy from the bank and took it to them. They gave him $30.00 back but not to cover the rest of fees we received because of this.

I recently called and talked to Ashley first and then Darren called me back. I called because they have been coming by my house and banging on the door and my son was there by himself after school. It scared him so bad he called me and I had to leave work and go get him. He will not stay home because of this I have to bring him to work with me. They came by and my daughter was just pulling up with her child and she told them we weren't home and they left and starting calling leaving threatening messages. They came back the next morning at 8:50 am Saturday morning. I was in the shower and my son came running in the bathroom crying that someone was beating on the door. I told him to look out his window to see if he could see who it was. He came back and said it was Aaron’s and they were leaving. They beat so hard on the door that they also woke up my grandchild and she was crying.

I called them at that moment and ask them to please quit coming by and scaring the children. That my husband was out of town and he would be in as soon as he got back in town to pay them. This was only (3) days after the bill was due. I told them that they were scaring the children and the manager Darren said he could come by there anytime he wanted because my husband had signed a lease and that even a sheriff or a judge could not stop them. I feel we are being harassed by them and that there should be a law against someone making you scared to live in your own house over a TV that is almost paid off. Thanks for listening. I hope this may help!

After bringing it home, it malfunctioned to the point it would not work at all or even boot back up. I took it back and they ordered me a brand new one, never opened box. I had it for one month and it started having the same problems as the first one - freezing up, 15 different screens at a time coming up on top of one another and then streaks of what looked to be like lightning going through the screen. Something I have never ever seen a computer do.

I took it back to the store and they did something and said it was fixed and I walked right back out with it in about 10 minutes. After getting home with it, it started the same thing over again. I took it back to the store and said I did not want it and wanted to cancel the agreement. He asked why and I told him what happened. He said "you don't have to even say anything else. I know exactly what you're talking about because we have had this problem with everyone of the HP computers that have come to our store." I said "well ok then, why can't I get my one payment back that I made along with my deposit since you have had problems with all of them." I said "isn't that fair" and he said "well, they won't let us do that."

So I lost $221.99 for having the computer only one month and not being able to use it like it should have been used. I feel completely ripped off. If it was only my computer that they had problems with, then maybe it would have been a little bit different, but it was the fact that all of the computers had the same problem and I felt as though I should have received all of my money back since it was all of the computers.

I live paycheck to paycheck and in the event that my paycheck does not hit on the 15th of the month, my payment may be a day or two late. In the time that this may occur, I begin getting harassing phone calls from the company on the 16th of the month and nasty notes left at my door until the payment is made. Up until last month did I call to remind them that I would have my paycheck in a couple days and be in to pay them.

At one time I was able to call and have them debit my account, but unfortunately an employee walked off with my banking information and now I'm forced to pay in cash or by money order. (I have witness that was there when they copied my card and took a voided check and the same witness was present when I was told they no longer had my account info on file.) I travel quite a bit for work and have recently had some family issues I have been dealing with. I have been unable to contact the store due to the fact that they come when they clearly know I'm working and not home and because I get home after the store has already closed.

I recently received a voice mail message on my home phone stating that if I did not call them to discuss my overdue account or return the table (which is pretty close to being paid off at this point), they were going to have me arrested for possession of an unpaid leased item. Imagine having your three year old hear that and running crying from the room! At this point I don't care that I'm out $1000 for the table. I'm fed up with the harassing phone calls, nasty messages on my door and complete rudeness that is Aaron's. If I had the resources I would sue them for harassment.

In September, I notified them that my TV that I was leasing, apparently something had happened, it would not show a picture or did not have sound. They charged me for the entire month of October for the rental fee even though they picked up the TV and told me that they were replacing the lamp which would take about 7-10 days which ended up being more than 3 weeks. They told me that they did not have a loaner TV for me to use while mine was being repaired. I was told that I could get a store credit for the days that I actually did not have the TV; hence, after going into the store to speak with the Manager several times, he was never there, he never returned my phone calls and nothing was ever done about it. Also, I had a half a month's payment left on the TV that I was leasing and they charged me for the entire month and said that it would take some time for me to get my money back because it was a process.

My payments were set up on automatic bank draft and they were suppose to call me prior to running the bank draft through, but did not. They told me to bring in my bank statement showing that they had made the error, I did. The Manager, Eugene, was not there and they said that they would have him take care of this as soon as he turned; however, he never called me back nor made any effort or attempt to let me know that they were working on the problem. I called them again on yesterday regarding these problems and my concerns and was told Eugene was not there and I told them that I had been a good customer and he was really conducting bad business as far as I am concerned.

I called them everyday for two weeks regarding getting my TV back and my spouse had to call them and be really RUDE with them in order for them to finally say the bulb/lamp light had come in and that they were going to bring it to put in my TV that was already in their store. They came to my house to put the bulb in not realizing hey its already in the store. They had to go back to the store to get the TV and deliver it then put the bulb in, but no one ever credited my account or have they credited my account back regarding this over-payment that was made on 11/3/08.

This person kept mentally drill at me where I told the store manager I will not come in the store to make any more payments as long as Giovanni works there, so bring my receipt to the front door to pick up my payments. My husband purchased a computer from them in Oct. of 07 on a 12 mo. lease. We have always paid in full every month. We got down to the last 2 payments and had to move back to Oklahoma and explained this to them and told them we would make the payments as soon as possible. Well the harassing phone calls began, then the banging on the door, coming into my house without permission, etc. They placed some kind of firewall on the computer so that we could not use it and then the icing on the cake. I was checking my bank account today and found, lo and behold, they had charged my debit card without my permission for the full 2 months of payments putting me in serious financial trouble as this drained my account, put me at a negative balance and I don't get paid for another 7 days.

My husband and I have no money for food or gas and I have to break my son's heart and tell him he can't have a birthday now. What really pisses me off is, number one and most importantly I am not even listed on this account, this was my husband's account, alone; two, they illegally kept my debit card information from past payments I had made on the account for my husband and used it without my knowledge or permission; three, my husband and I do not have a joint bank account so essentially they just took someone's money who had nothing to do with the whole lease agreement in the first place I just happened to be unlucky enough to have made a couple payments for him. To me, this is no different than someone stealing my bank information and committing fraud. What can be done about this because they have crossed the line this time, period!

At the end of the contract, I was given a few of the drivers, but that was all. I was told that the others and Word would be in at another date. I purchased a leather sectional living room set from Aaron about 5 months ago, when the delivery guys delivered it to my home they ripped it in a few spots. I asked them to take it back but because they had such a hard time getting it into my house, they stated that I could call the store and they would handle the complaint. So I called Aarons and spoke with an employee who stated that they would have to order me a new set and that it would take 2 weeks to get it delivered.

Every two weeks I called them and they didn't receive the new set until about 3 and a half months later. When the delivery guy came to my house to deliver the second set, he refused to bring it up stating that it would only rip again because the set is too big to fit through the doorway and then he suggested that I call Aaron's and see what they can do for me. When I called I spoke to a male manager who stated that he would have a female manager come out to my house and evaluate my furniture and then offer me a discount price.

No one ever showed up so a few days later I called and spoke to someone who tried to offer me a $11 discount a month on the set and I stated that that was not enough so she gave me to her manager who stated that he could only offer me a $30 a month discount and I stated that I think someone should come out and look at the damages before offering me a discount so he stated that someone would be in touch with me. Now the time has come to pay again and they sent the bill with the $30 discount instead of coming out to evaluate. Now I want to end my agreement with Aaron's but feel I should be compensated for the furniture payments that I already made due to poor service. Please advise me which way to go with this. I am going to call the store today and have them arrange for pick up of the furniture.

It would take a long period of time to come on and it would start dimming out the picture, now it does not come on anymore. I called Aaron's to find out if they could come out and fix it but they said I moved too far and gave me a number to an Aaron's nearby my home. I called that Aaron's and they said they could not do anything for me because I did not purchase my TV there and that they don't have my account info. Every time I called they gave me some crap.

Now its 10-02-08 and I called to speak with the manager Jessie and he tells me that there is nothing he could do because it is outside of the 2-year warranty, and I realized that they were giving me the run around all that time to tell me now that my TV is outside of the damn warranty. Plus they failed to tell me that every two years the bulbs in those TVs go out when I 1st purchased the TV and they never even offered me the extended warranty for my TV. I paid it cash. Now I'm stuck with a huge TV in my home that does not work and is gonna cost almost as much to fix it as it would a new TV.

It is a REQUIREMENT of purchase/lease that upon moving the items must be relocated by their company in order for them to know the physical location of property and also to valdate all warranties. If you move items yourself they are explicit that all product warranties are void. This includes the additional 2-yr Aaron's warranty.

We moved 4 months ago. Their employees did $2000 worth of damage to my townhome removing the furniture - walls and flooring mostly. My new home was thrashed - broke banister at entrance, tore up the entire painted wood porch outside entry, scratched up doors and walls, put a 6 foot long gash in my original/restored hardwoods, ripped the tags/necks from 2 brand new denim jackets hanging on coathooks inside entry. Grandma had just sent them for my toddlers - $46 each, ruined. Damaged all furniture in the process: 48in JVC tv, living rm suite and master bed set. Best of all, we had been paying for 22mos and were two short of a zero balance.

My couch and loveseat were destroyed to the point of having the frames snapped in two. I eventually was able to get the set replaced. The leather bed had tears in the rails - they replaced rails. The rest of bed set is still damaged and in my room waiting. My favorite is the TV. Less than 2ys old, high end JVC 48in. They moved it with the HDMI cable stil plugged - it arrived with the output bent at a 45deg angle inside television and cord unusable. The cord was replaced, I had to go pick it up at the store. Eventually a svc repair tech from Sharper Video came to assess and made warr repairs to outputs. The refractor screen was seriously gouged, scratched and scuffed. The outer case of tv was crushed from being dropped on staircase. Repair tech noted that screen NEEDED to be replaced and their expense, case damage was aesthetic. The tech said he would advise store about costs and replacement schedule for screen. I paid approx $2400 including interest for this tv.

2 months pass - an employee has been to my home, discussed damage, taken photos. His manager does not return msgs. After finally speaking to him, plays dumb. Has NO KNOWLEDGE that said employee came over to discuss situation - it has been MONTHS. Wants to talk to his EE and call me back. Never hear from him. I withhold payment. They come to my home 2x demanding cash. I tell them they can have it when repairs are made. Couple weeks pass and the inspecting EE returns with another Mgr - I ask if they are here to get JVC for screen replacement? He knows zip.

Here is what happened: they came back for the tv stating that screen was in but wanted to replace themselves at store to avoid $300 labor cost from Sharper Video, it will be back in hours. Four days later the tv returns. Am told they installed the factory part shipped by Sharper Video and it took longer because they were shorthanded at store. The pic looks awful, the new screen is EXTREMELY flexible opposed to he orig, is clear and glossy where orig had a matte look and fabric apearance upon scrutiny, rattles when tapped around edges. The employee returns to assess my complaints.

My warranty is now void by JVC for non-spec parts being installed by uncertified persons. They are in violation of national contract with repair company for attempting repairs in their store. TAP Plastics sold a custom cut piece of plexi to DJ(EE name) day of tv pickup for $23.00. Have yet to confront them re new knowlede. Advise?

My payment was due on the 15th so on the 14th they called me 15 times a day wanting to know when I was going to pay. And this was after I spoke with them and informed them I would be late with the payment. They advertise to be less expensive, when in actuality you are paying TWICE the price for items. The furniture that I got from them was a sectional sofa and a recliner. While I love the recliner and I have had no problems with it, the Sectional is a piece of junk! The seats are ALREADY caving in where we don't even sit! There are wires sticking out of the sides of the cushions in the seats and they poke you in the leg when you sit down.

Because of this and the fact that I am pregnant and I wanted something a little more durable and stain resistant, I went in to my local Aaron's and placed an order for a leather couch and love seat. I wanted to turn in the sectional and replace it with the new furniture.

Well, I was told when they put in my order that there were 10 available so it would probably be coming in on that Friday's shipment. Well, it never did. I called them and they said that when they placed the order on that Thursday, it said that there were no longer any available. That was fine. I am pretty patient where that was concerned. Also, since my sectional was so messed up, the GM of the store agreed to waive my payment until my new furniture came in.

I started receiving calls saying that my account was past due. It was NEVER past due. So I called the store and wanted to see what that was all about. I wasn't really mad at that point but I wanted to make sure everything was taken care of. The GM got on the phone with me and started FUSSING at me! Yelling and threatening me. I told him that I am a good customer and I shouldn't have to put up with this kind of treatment, well, I guess he took that personally and he just kept on yelling at me and yelling at me saying that I wasn't giving him a chance to talk.

I am presently purchasing a leather sofa and loveseat. I have 3 more payments left. The contract was for 24mths. Since around November of 2005, I have been trying to get the loveseat repaired. The seat cushions and the arms are ripping. I contacted Aarons about this problem. I waited probably at least a month or more just for someone to come out and look at the loveseat.

When the repair people came out they told me that it would be up to Aaron's whether they wanted to repair my loveseat or give me a new one. After waiting another week or so without hearing from anyone, I called and was told that they had decided to repair mine and that the material would have to be ordered. As I said earlier, this was back in late November or early December.

I have made numerous phone calls trying to find out when it is going to be repaired and no one can seem to give me any answers. I am being lied to and given the run-around. The first person I spoke to told me that the material had been ordered. After waiting a month or so I called again. This time I spoke to someone named Celest who looked into it, and couldn't even see where any information had been entered and nothing had been ordered. She told me that she would make sure that something got done about it.

Since then I have made numerous phone calls trying to get some answers and I can't seem to get anywhere. I get told that the material just takes a long time to come in, and then when I ask if they can call and find out for me how long it is going to be, they tell me that the lady in charge of where they order the material from never returns their calls.

This is the second set of furniture I have gotten. The first set had been previously rented and it fell apart before it was ever paid off and nothing was done about it. This time I thought I would get something brand new made out of leather so it would last longer. Now I am faced with the same problem all over again.

I bought a Geely scooter and they are not a licensed dealer. I didnot know at the time of purchase nor did they tell me. I can't get tags or title on the scooter. That means I can not ride it on the road. I keep asking for a title but I am getting the run around. I have put insurance on the scooter at the time of purchase thinking I could get tags and title to ride it but I can't. They also gave me fake temporary tags that are illegal in the state of Texas.

We paid the down payment of 284.05 plus a years insurance of 101.00 on the scooter.

Purchased 52 RCA on 03/29/02. delivery guys could not set color correctly. Returned once and sent repairman once who could not set color.said the blue was missing. Aaron's had previously said they wood replace Television but at this point salesman Will Woody refused saying his manager John Powers wouldn't authorize. This has occured in less than 4 weeks and we resent having to immediately start repairing new television.

This was a cash deal made in good faith on our part to a man who made us believe he was an honorable business person.

Tried to rent a sofa bed - only had one and they said they could not get in front door. Paid $131.73 (one month's rent)...they cashed my check and after many promises and arguments I still have not gotten my money back. I never had their merchandise for a minute but they had my money for 11 days now.
