I ordered pizza two-three days ago during the day online and I paid $10 by papa card and the rest I was to pay in cash. The guy didn't have to call me, he came straight to my door and he confirmed how much I had to pay and I gave him that exact change he said I was to pay. Now the two days later (which was last night) I ordered again and my order was about $20.
I pay half of that with my papa card and I was to pay the rest in cash as I did the other order three days ago. Just to clarify this person who is delivering my order this time is a different person. He calls me asking directions from the papa John’s restaurant. I have no idea how to get from there to my house so I told him what road I lived off of and he kept complaining that he didn't know where I lived. So he finally gets comes into my circle where my condo was and I'm standing outside where the street and the sidewalk meet and he rides right pass me and stops at another condo. He gets out the car and he starts to walk towards someone else’s door and I yell across the way "Hey is that my pizza! " and he tells me that he thought that my door was over there. Then when he comes up to me he tells me the price that I needed to pay was $20 and some change. I tell him that that is a mistake and that I paid $10 of that online he doesn't believe me but he take the money anyway and he gives me my order.
I go in the house thinking everything was over so I ate my pizza and watched a movie. About 10-15 minutes later the delivery driver calls my phone twice and I Finally pick up and he asks me if I was the woman who order the pizza on some street other than mines and I tell him no. We hang up. He calls me back 5 minutes later about three times and when I don't answer he comes back to my neighborhood and he "finds" my door. He knocks, and keeps knocking, and keeps knocking. I open the door and he says that his boss is on the phone complaining about me paying only $10 and not $20 and he gives me the phone. I try to explain to this manager guy that I paid with a gift card and cash.
I go upstairs and grab the receipt that I got offline and show it to the driver. He looks at it but doesn't really "look" at it. The delivery guy is at my door talking extra, extra loud that my neighbors come outside and wakes up my mother who is sleeping on the third floor with bedroom door closed, now she’s upset. The guy finally realizes that he told his boss the wrong address and walks away while saying he apologizes. This guy needs to be fired for putting me through all off this mess.

Papa John's distributed a coupon in the Valpak of Charlottesville for an "absolutely free 3-toppings pizza when you order online." It's valid till Tuesday, 9/29/09. Yet, when I went to order online today, 9/29/09, none of the Charlottesville, VA Papa John's restaurants were accepting online orders. Seems like false advertising to me!

I am a secretary at the elementary school on Fort Polk. Since it was summer I decided to order pizza for the custodians and office workers. I placed my order online first thing that morning. At 11:03 am, I called to make sure they received my order because I had an uneasy feeling about it. No one answered the phone. I continued to call, but no one would answer until 12:30 pm (my order was supposed to be delivered at 12:00). The manager told me that my pizza was just coming out of the oven. He said that the computers had gone down. I told him I called at 11:03 and all he would say is that the computer was down. When I told him it was funny that he couldn't answer the phone just because the computer was down, he huffed real loud and would not say anything else. I asked to have a store manager call me back. Five days later, I still haven't heard from anyone. My husband went to use the 1 free pizza coupon they gave me for the $30.00 order I made. The same manager laughed and said, "I think I made her mad."

Papa John's made a mistake with my order, then compounded this with telling me all sorts of falsehoods - stuff like, "I just asked the regional manager, who happens to be at the back" and "No, you cannot talk to him. We will refund your credit card in 2 weeks!" etc. Note: Never pay by credit card. I ended up calling the real regional manager (John **) and stated my experience. He asked, "How can I make this right?" I said, "Number 1, educate your people; Number 2, have a convenient comment line; and number 3, give me one free pizza." John sent me 4 or 5 coupons for complimentary pizza. He even crossed out the one topping and wrote three toppings in its place to match my original screwed up order.
I used 3. One time, the pizza guy forgot to collect one so I just threw it away. I used one today and they slapped a delivery charge on there. I paid the delivery charge in pennies and tipped the driver $2.00 (not his fault). You lost a customer for life Papa John's.

I went to Papa John's with a 25-dollar email gift card certificate. I presented it to the team member at the cash register and he refused it. This is one of their own promotions. There were gift cards on a rack. I was told by Giftcertificates.com that it would be accepted.

I called the store because I had ordered a pizza and I received the wrong pizza and wanted to speak to the manager. Then Ralf the employee pass me to the manager and I asked him his name to be sure he was the manager when I went to the store. The manager said his name but I didn't understand him. Then I asked him again for his name and he said, "no you give me name." Then I said I need to speak to the damn manager. And he replied with "SHUT UP ** GO ** YOUR MOTHER." And Then he hung up the phone.
I got up and went to Papa John's to get my pizza how I had order it and asked to speak with the manager there at the store. When he came to me I asked him why he told me to go ** my mother. And the manager replied with "you started it and that's why I said shut up ** go ** your mother." Admitting it in front of people in the store, and his employees.

On 9/30/07 I placed a phone order for a large 5-topping pizza for pick up. The order was taken by Wendy and repeated back to me correctly twice. I arrived at Papa John's at about 3:49 and paid for the pizza. The pizza was given to me by Wendy and when I checked the pizza, it was incorrect. I told her the pizza didn't have pineapple to which she immediately replied, "You didn't say pineapple" in a defensive and loud voice. She insisted that I didn't order pineapple and throughout our conversation was very angry, defensive and loud. I asked her to lower her voice and I asked to speak to her manager.
She went to the back of the store and argued with an employee there. She brought an employee named Ernesto out who asked "How can I help you?" and I tried to explain that I had paid for 5 toppings and was only given four and all I wanted was a price adjustment, but Wendy at this point called me a ** and... she threw up her hands. She was repeatedly told to be quiet and go in the back to no avail. She continued with her verbal assault and could not be controlled by Ernesto, the manager.
I'm not sure if he was indeed the manager because neither had a name tag and he had on an apron. I later saw a man with a gray collar shirt in the office, who seemed to be the real manager and to be hiding. Throughout the conversation with Ernesto, Wendy continued to come in and out of the office yelling insults, threatening me and spewing profanities, to which Ernesto said "Don't pay attention to her." When I commented that such a person with an attitude shouldn't work with customers, Wendy said she didn't give a ** about her job and Ernesto just stood there. On my way out of the store, the delivery man told me she was crazy and to not listen to her. I don't think this is the first time she has verbally threatened a customer. This is the worst experience I've ever had at any restaurant and it was all over missing pineapple and a price adjustment. I expected something to be done about this situation because no one should have to tolerate this behavior.

Every time I order from them on-line, it ask if I want to order a magazine subscription also. For the life of me, I can not understand why I am given this offer every time and their system has not stopped it. It is a borderline opt-in/opt-out offer scam.

Their term UNLIMITED actually means 'LIMITED' to 5 or less toppings.
Their online web site will not accept more than 5 toppings on an order.

I ordered a pizza at 6:15 in the evening and let the person on the phone know that I was paying by check. At 7:15, I called the restaurant back and asked where was my pizza...I ordered it an hour ago. She replied the driver has already left. He eventually got to my house at 7:45, 1 hour and 30 minutes after I ordered it. As the driver stood at my doorway, I asked him how much it was, what I was quoted on the phone was not what he told me, so I had to write another check. After giving him the check he held on to my pizza staring at the money I had on my left hand. It wasn't until I gave him a tip did he finally offer me my pizza.
My pizza was late and on top of that COLD. I actually had to heat it in the microwave.
As I ate my pizza, I noticed on the box that there was a delivery charge of 75 cents, a charge that was not disclosed to me over the phone. I believe this was suppose to be disclosed during ordering and was not.
This is my second complaint with this store. I ordered pizza, charged it on my credit card and then was told that it did not go through so I paid cash upon delivery. A few days later, a charge appeared on my credit card. I complained to the management and they told me they were going to reverse the charges and it never was.
I've complained to the corporate office and all they do is forward the complaint to the store. What is this going to do? Neighbors too have issues with this store, so its just not me.
Cold Pizza, bad service, not disclosing delivery charges and double charging.

Below is a verbatim copy of the letter sent to Papa John's corporate headquarters.
This is to advise you that the Papa John's Pizza at 6400 Leetsdale, Denver, CO 80224 (303) 399-6262 has adopted the policy of refusing to honor its own coupons.
After years of business with this particular store, it has recently come under new management which has completely refused to honor its own coupons. Specifically, coupon code #001048 Expiration 06/29/03 One Large One Topping $7.99 which was just put out a week ago on the top of the pizza box of our last order. This refusal occured on April 3, 2003.
The manager, who refused to give his full name, merely calling himself Mike made it crystal clear that he had no intention of honoring this coupon and was rather rude in doing so.
Be advised that though we enjoy your product, such shabby customer service and refusal to honor your own offers bodes ill for the continued success of your company. A copy of this complaint is being forwarded to the Colorado Better Business Bureau, several local resturant review services as well as the parent company - Coca Cola. The coupon is remaining on file.
