Not long after the Super Bowl. I ordered a couple of large pizzas, 2-2 liters Pepsi, 20-pc of chicken peppers (whatever they're called). The pizza was burnt all over and they forgot one of the 2-liters. As you know if you are not satisfied you're supposed to get a pizza free. I called and gave my complaint. They assured me they won't have it corrected within an hour. An hour went by and we received nothing to include a phone call. I ordered from one of their competitors. From this point on Papa John's has lost my business. Since they could not correct nor honor their guarantee of getting right.

I ordered a large pizza to go. It was like eating cardboard and I ordered to go. I only live five minutes away and by the time I got home the pizza was cold. It was the worst pizza I ever had. Frozen pizza was better than that. I will never go back there again and when they make the pizza she pick up the dough - it was on bottom shelf. She just put on the table and don't roll the dough. IT WAS WORST PIZZA I EVER EAT. I WILL NEVER GO BACK AGAIN. I don't have a order number - I just threw it in the garage but it was on South Dale Marby South of Gandy Tampa FL.

Called and ordered 2 pizzas to be delivered ($35.07). Said it would take 1 to 1 1/2 hours to get pizza to my home. This was at 5:15 P.M. I called them at 7:20 P.M. and asked where our pizzas were. Was told they were on their way and would be there in the next 20 minutes. Waited until 8 P.M. And called again. Was told they were ready to go out the door DID we still want them. We said no. Our company that arrived at 6 P.M. For dinner, we're having to leave and would pick up something on their way home. I was so embarrassed. This was the first time I had this couple to my home to visit and have dinner.

The other day I ordered a pizza and there was an issue with the system (was probably user error), and the incorrect order was delivered to me. Once I realized it was wrong the delivery guy gone, and I had to contact the store directly. A guy named Matt answer the phone and was very pleasant and empathetic to my situation. Now this was not my first encounter with someone from this particular Papa John's, so I was expecting a tug of war match. I was very surprised to hear that it was not a big deal and Matt was going to have a pizza over as soon as he found a driver. This was something that I greatly appreciated considering I have had bad experiences before, so I just wanted to take the time and share this experience I had with Matt. Thanks Matt, you rock!

I normally do not do reviews but for some reason this time I had to. I ordered pizza from Papa John's and I asked for Pepsi to drink. I'm having trouble with our ice machine at home. Anyways, I'm waiting on my pizza and my drink until it finally arrives. The Pepsi was hot. Why would I order a hot drink? I paid more for a drink that I can't even drink! I don't understand who thought it was okay to give a customer a HOT drink! I have no ice and I paid for an item I can't even enjoy. Thanks, Papa John's Pizza.

Called in a pizza about a week ago. First time, we called several times and got no answer. Called the east side and their manager had to call their private cell. Apparently both were out on a smoke break and were irritated that we made them work. The pizza was two and a half hour late. Tried calling to cancel and again, got no answer. Finally got through and the person who answered was belligerent and hung up. When I called the east side to cancel the guy pulls up, hands over the pizza, takes the money (thankful there was only .58 cents due) and leaves. He was an absolute jerk.

Got the double chicken/bacon barbeque pizza. Piece of chicken still had a 3/4" bone in it. Stuck in my mouth. Called the store that I bought it from and was told 3 times that their chicken is grilled and doesn't come with bones. I was treated like I was not telling the truth. I filed a complaint with their 888 phone number but have heard nothing back. I should have thought that someone would immediately get on this as I can imagine someone else getting a bone stuck in their throat...chicken bones are very dangerous. I am not sure that a large company like Papa John's really cares...except selling lots more pizzas. I have indeed kept the bone and the pizza in my freezer!

Ordered two pizzas. Got the wrong order and was made to pay a whole new delivery fee and when they were bringing me the new pizzas the delivery man said nasty things to my girlfriend not knowing I was behind the door. Called to tell the manager and he was taking the driver's side. I'm afraid of what he might have done if she were all alone. Be warned. Don't order from brian station papa john's!

I called to place an order. The commercial that comes on while you are on hold stated they had a special buy one large pizza get one for .50 cent. So I ordered a large bacon pizza regular price 13 dollars and some change but the employee on the phone said my total was 21 dollars and some change. So I asked her why she told me she decided to give me a different special 2 pizza's up to 5 toppings for 21.00 but she never offered me the special, am I not now entitled to 4 more toppings? They picked the more expensive offer for me but never gave me the option to add the toppings but charged me for them. Is that not considered stealing? I'm confused.

The customer service is extremely the worst. One time I ordered pizza the guy took 2 and half hours to come and it was raining outside. He informs me that I should walk to the car and grab Pizza or he's going to wait until it stopped raining. I called customer service and inform them I ordered another time from the same store and the guy never showed up with the pizza. I requested for a refund. They told me to wait 72 hours and I never got refunded the money. My bank gave me a credit until they spoke with Papa John's and that never happened which caused my account to be overdrawn over $100. I'll call customer service today because I placed another order and they haven't received my order. It took them an hour and a half to process my order. I'm so dissatisfied and disgusted with this company. I will not order pizza from here again.

I ordered a pizza online and accidentally left it marked for carryout when I meant it for delivery. I caught my mistake 5 minutes later and called the place. The man who picked up the phone was very rude and unprofessional. I explained what happened then asked him to change it to delivery and he sighed very loudly over the phone. An awkward paused ensued and for one minute he did not say a word. All I could hear was him breathing and whispered swearing over the phone. Finally he asked for my credit card and got it fixed. Pizza was great but dear God your employees need customer service skills. I've worked food service for 2 years and I would never treat anyone like this. Ever.

Ordered two large pies yesterday at Papa Johns in Selden, NY. I remember eating Papa Johns about 5 years ago in Patchogue, and it tasted great. I don't know what had transpired in those 5 years, but the pizza tasted like garbage. It was first undercooked, the crust was thick and raw. The pizza sauce tasted like cheap canned sauce. I would say that any frozen pizza tasted better. Their slogan has to be updated. Garbage ingredients, crappy pizza. What has happened Papa John? Did it cost so much to insure your workers with Obama Care that you now get your ingredients from the crapper?

This is our first time to order food from this place. Food was cold, soda was flat, looks like it's expired when it was not. We have contacted them right away. I had to wait about 10 minutes before I was able to talk to a female manager, refuse to give her name, and after explaining the issue she said "I will give you a credit on your account". When I said "I would not order again", she said "Ok bye" and hang up on me. I should read and listened to the previous reviews on Google and Yelp but I thought I should give them a try. I regret it, it was the first time and last time. They really don't care to lose business or not, shame on you Papa John's!
SHAME ON YOU PAPA JOHN'S! To be very specific about the manager, this order was put on 10/3/2015 about 5 PM. If Papa John's is a respected company they should go back to this day and see who is the Manager... By the way Matt the guy answer my call, he knew what I was talking about. It looks like I was not the only call and complaint about the food and the soda. Matt introduced himself, Manager refuse to give her name. What a shame. Be aware, any place still better than this place.

Don't work for this company because they don't pay enough so that you can make any kind of a half decent living, because the people I worked with were always broke in a couple of days after payday. If you want to drive for this company (go elsewhere), they start you at 4 something an hour and you have to report your tips to make up the difference. I'm not a waitress at Eat n Park. I'm someone that beat my car up for this company and for what 4 something an hour, not me. The other thing is they put 4-5 drivers on at night and for what, so I can go home with maybe $20.00 on a 6-hour shift, not me. The guy that runs Papa John's is Roszee. Don't trust him. He is a sneak and a liar. Go work for any other shop, just not this one.

Date of incident 08/18/2015 at 2:15 pm. Store Address: 1460 ADDISON ROAD SOUTH, Capitol Heights, MD 20743. Phone: (301) 324-7900. I started placing an order online. I found out that I couldn't because of the type of card I have. I then called the store to place my order direct. When the team member answered the phone, I explained the situation about the online order and asked if I could apply my same online promotion to the phone order. (1st problem) He took a deep breath, like I irritated him with my question. He grumbled something, put the phone down and another person came on the line.
I asked him the same question. He very dryly told me they have different in store than online promotions. Okay. Fine. I asked, "what is the best promo for the items that I have?" (2nd problem) "I don't know, you can get a pizza and wings cheap." Okay the customer service was D.O.A from the moment of my call, but whatever. I placed the order and waited for my food. An order that never came.
I called the store an hour later and was told that the driver had been to my house and had left because he received no answer. There was construction on my street using a jackhammer. So my question was why didn't the driver call when he was outside? I asked nicely so the response I received was uncalled for. (3rd problem) "The driver doesn't have a phone and you knew you had a delivery coming, you should have been on point. It is not his responsibility to call you." He said it so rudely. I was taken aback and asked him, "What do you do now? Are you going to put the money back on my card?" Again as rude as can be, "Yeah. I can do that with the quickness, or you can wait and he will be back 15 minutes from now." I said fine because I had already waited so long.
30 minutes later no driver, no food. I call the store again. (4th problem) At this point I am over everything Papa John's due to this interaction with this store. I tell the rep, "Please put the money back on my card and cancel the order." I find out that the super rude person I spoke to this entire time is the manager, he said his name is **. I ask him, "How long before the money is back on my card?" His response, "3 days or so, I don't really know" and hung up. I have had bad customer service and then I have had this. I will never put money into this store again. I will tell everyone I know, including the school I teach at that when we have functions and events, that Papa John's is not an option.

I was at Albertsons grabbing 1 thing and would have been there before 9 so my question is "do you conduct business till 9 pm or 10 till 9", cause any place I have ever worked, business is done until posted closing time even if we had a line out the door at 8:59, so I will be less likely to use your store even though it's closer. Less than a month ago I ordered pizza from Papa John's and they gave free pizza. Today told my kids to order a pizza for lunch from points (had 44 last week) and they told me we no longer had enough points available. Called the customer line since we did not use points and I was informed that the offer expired. Rep said they had notified me through email. Told them I did not pay attention to emails from them unless I wanted to order a pizza. Service representative said he was sorry and that the offer was good for several weeks but expired.
Add insult to injury, it expired yesterday. Rep offered me a 50% off on next order, said, "No thanks." Asked if he could do anything else and I said, "Yes credit back points for pizza" - could not do that. I guess if someone gives me something, I expect to be able to use when I want to - within a reasonable amount of time. My family does eat take out pizza or any fast food very often. Just not good business and I am not sure I want to support their franchise anymore.

So I've worked for Papa John's now for almost a month and I have never made such a terrible decision. I've worked in customer service businesses before including really nice restaurants. So I know what customers look for. Everyone there are **. I hate my GM, he is the most hated among the co-workers. He doesn't care for anything or anyone. He isn't strict about hygiene and I noticed this on the first day. Drivers, pizza makers and whoever else is behind the counter literally DO NOT wash their hands. I wash my hands after every drive I make, every phone I answer and after every pizza I cut, why? Because everything is dirty and has grease and ** on it. Hate everything about this company except the pizza.. If the pizza wasn't so damn good I'd stop going.
Every restaurant has their flaws, that's why I try to avoid working in them nowadays. I quit Papa John's as I'm writing this because I couldn't take the madness any more. My son came down with the same symptoms shortly afterward. Real ingredients? Any company who fails to disclose ingredients is hiding more than proprietary secrets... the other companies share. What don't they want us to know? Something unnatural caused these symptoms.

Hi there. Have been customer with Papa John's for the last 3 years. I love the pizza but unfortunately the manager didn't speak English well and this is the second mistake. I don't really recommended London, Wembley Papa John's service. One of the staff didn't speak English well. I told him, "Pass me to your manager" because I repeat my order 3 times for him, then his manager was the same, his English not good enough. When I told him what happen he didn't even apologise, he asked me, "Where are you from?" I told him, "Why you asking me this question, you don't have the right to ask me this question." Then he said, "Oh no just asking."
After the order has been completed I ask, "How much I owe you?" He said "£24.99." I said, "Ok, thank you." When the driver delivered the pizza he gave me the receipt, it was £28.99, not £24.99. This is not fair, I did paid the amount but I hope this not gonna happen again with me or someone else. Unfortunately my email is not of stellar customer service but instead that of utter disappointment at the actions of one of your delivery drivers for the location at 2731 W. Northwest Hwy Dallas, TX 75220 Store #4529. I placed an order via my debit card on 5/26/2015 and the total came to $21.08, I noted on the receipt for the driver that I was only agreeing to pay the total of $21.08 because unfortunately at that time, I did not have a tip to extend. I monitor my account as I always do to ensure that purchases go through and that I am not incorrectly charged and I reviewed my account on 5/28/15 and noticed that the charge was processed through with a total of $24.08. I contacted the location to advise them of this and bring it to their attention regarding the charge and I was advised that I would be credited the difference of the $3.00.
At this time, I do not show that I have received that credit and did not desire to contact that location for further assistance based on the attention to this matter that I have received thus far. While this seems like a lot of ruckus over only $3.00, for me it is the principle of it that I no longer feel comfortable placing an order with your company because #1, I am unsure of what might be added to my card that I did not authorize, and #2 the lack of attention received from this location at this time is a sad representation of the company. I am not sure what, if any action will be taken in regards to this matter but I felt it necessary to bring it to your attention what took place.

Just letting everyone know about how bad the customer service is in the Lower Mainland B.C. Listen. My family has order from Papa John's since I was a young man. In the beginning, the company seemed great. Great food, good prices. I liked papa John's so much I even decided to start working there almost a decade ago! But from the inside looking out I can tell you this, that EVERYONE'S expectations are too high. As an employee I have seen the inner workings, and I also see how the public treats people who make their dinner. To start, franchisees don't care about the people who work in their stores, or even the condition of their store. My store has too many problems to count, from cracked slippery floors to extremely poor air conditioning (try working 8-12 hours next to a 475 degree oven, two 220 degree heat racks and a hot summer day with no breaks, except if the business is slow that time is considered our "break" all with a malfunctioning 20 year old a.c.)
And it's been that way for years, but the expectations from upper management increases every month. We're expected to keep labor low and sales and csc high! Even if that means consistently screwing our customers and employees alike. Example: Every day except friday-Sunday, mornings consist of 1 driver, 1 manager. From 10 am to 4 pm (sometimes 4:30 or 5:00) those two people are alone in the store, meaning two people to answer the phones, two people to make food, 1 to deliver food and 1 to handle in-store customers. In theory that doesn't seem bad.
But when you have 3 lines ringing on your phone, customers coming in to pick up an order, your 1 driver leaving the store, pizzas coming out of the oven, pizzas to make piling up going upwards to a half an hour before they're in the oven, all while trying to uphold and comply with the papa John's operational guide, you start to see why orders can go an hour, hour and a half late. You can see why that guy might've forgot that extra garlic. Maybe that pizza maker has had to urinate for an hour, but because he will get in trouble for not answering the phone in three rings, is afraid to leave his station to use the restroom. Maybe because our delivery area is 25 minutes out extending north and 28 minutes out extending south, and 1 order in each direction and 1 driver on the clock, you can see why your order did not arrive at the 35-40 minute mark as quoted.
Maybe if we had a proper staff to handle business, we could satisfy our angry customers! (I'll get to you guys in a minute don't worry.) I don't understand how they can get away with these atrocities. Judging from all the reviews I've read, at least 80 percent of these customers would have had a better experience if papa John's would staff all of their stores properly, train their employees properly, and most importantly, follow my simple theory: Keep your employees happy, keep your customers happy. A happy employee will be able to handle almost any situation with grace and dignity, and keep your customers satisfied! Now that being said, I have to address our customers. I think most customers are just that, customers. They order their food, they pay, if there's a mistake they call and it's fixed (hopefully, better be) end of story.
However there is a slowly spreading epidemic across the nation, a sickness of the mind and soul. Customers who treat employees like **. Most of the time those employees are dealing with the very same problems I've mentioned earlier, as well as a myriad of other problems that I failed to mention to try to cut this rambling short. We can only do so much given our position, we cannot control how many people work in the store, how much money is being put back into the store, how much they decide they want to charge you. Try being a little nice and it will go a long way. If we tell you 50 minutes or more, it means that we are struggling to keep up with the quantity of orders, and if you are really hungry instead of putting yourself in a situation where you are going to be angry, just call someone else!
We will never turn down an order, but at the same time this multi-billion dollar corporation won't miss that one order on that one night! Wake the hell up, people. Treat the people who make your dinner with a little respect. Wake the hell up, John Schnatter. You live such a lavish private life but your employees who TURNED YOU INTO A MILLIONAIRE get treated like scum and get paid about 0.00000000001% of your net worth to deal with the REAL STRESS of running a business. This whole world needs to start treating each other properly, with love and kindness as we all want to be treated. Wake up, Earth.

My apartment complex distributed a flyer offering 50% off any size, any toppings at Papa John's. With all the advertising touting "better ingredients, better pizza," we expected something "better." I downloaded the Papa John's online app, enrolled as a carry out customer and ordered a large sausage, mushrooms and onion pizza with the three cheese topping for pickup at 3:30 pm the next day. I received a standard email reply, thanking me for "joining" but I did not receive a confirmation of my order. Our plans changed and we needed to change the pickup time to 5:00 pm. There was no feature to view my pending order, and no way to change the "ready for pickup" time.
So I waited for 10:30 am and called Papa John's to make a change to my order. I first asked the young lady who answered, how to modify my order online. She said "You can't do that online, what do you want to change?" It was very simple, I wanted to change the pickup time to 5:00 pm. She confirmed my order and my name, then said "We'll see you at 5:00 pm." My mouth was watering, and I showed up 15 minutes early, so I can drive away with a hot, fresh pizza. I know how long it takes to cook a pizza, but it was 4:45 pm when I entered the store and my boxed pizza was sitting on a metal rack. When I was handed the pizza box, I noticed the box wasn't hot and mentioned it to to counter clerk. His answer? "It's our special box, it keeps the heat in."
We were more than shocked when we opened the box. Not only was it cold...not even warm...it was cold. It looked like a pizza that was left over from an overnight party. This was a large pizza. We counted eight tiny cubes of what appeared to be sausage. There were a total of six small pieces of mushrooms and a few onions. The cheese had already hardened into a leather-like substance. We looked at the receipt and it had the 5:00 pm pick up time on it, but it was obvious that this pizza was baked and had been sitting for hours. Only one person was willing to reheat the pizza and give it a try. Her comment? It tasted worse than a frozen gas station pizza. Needless to say, Papa John's pizza will never darken our door again. I give it one star, for the box. The pizza and service sucks.

I call to make a complaint. They offer to replace my order but only gave me a pizza - that took me 40 minutes to get there and another 15 mins to wait for when I initially order pizza, wings, cheese sticks and a 2 liter. It’s the principle and I would like to discuss this with upper management. Very disappointed and unsatisfied nor will I return to this location.

Occasionally Papa John's has a cheesesteak pizza that comes with CREAMY GARLIC sauce. Other pizza companies offer similar. I like a bit of tomato sauce mixed in with the Garlic Sauce. Other companies have no problem with this, but Papa John's makes a big issue out of it. If they wish to say "We are uncooperative, and although we have all the ingredients - the extra ladling of a 2nd sauce is more work than we care to do!" or simply "We don't care what you want - take it our way or leave!", at least that would have some honesty.
Instead I get told that this "would cause cross-contamination"! I called 3 stores and most said that - one said "Mixing the sauces would cause them to curdle". REALLY??? You can cook tomato sauce, and you can cook Garlic Sauce -- but together they will curdle? Well that makes more sense than the "cross contamination" -- the tomato sauce is OK to eat alone, the Garlic sauce is OK to eat alone - BUT, mix the 2 and you create a toxic brew of death!!! Are people really this dumb, or just lazy and uncooperative? I am paying for the pizza, and will pay extra if the 2nd bit of sauce is that costly. You have the ingredients. Do what the customer wants, or admit that you don't care what the customer wants. Do say stupid things like 2 sauces mixed together cause issues.

On Valentine's Day I ordered pizza for my family. It took 2 hours and 35 minutes for the pizza to arrive and this was after having to make numerous calls to the store to chase them up. When it did arrive, my children had been kept up waiting long beyond their bedtimes, so were tired and hungry. The food itself was nasty - luke warm, minimal toppings and a poor quality. I complained to Head Office and, 15 days down the line, my complaint has been totally ignored.
You want an example of just how little this company care? I complained on their twitter and facebook accounts and, rather than seeking to address this customer complaint, they instead simply chose to block me from both of these social media outlets. Disgusting company who have no interest in their customers and customer experience other than to try and get as much money as they can from them. If you want to order pizza, I would suggest going to any other pizza outlet in your area, because my experience is that you will regret using Papa John's. I am also a pastor at a local church and I regularly order for my family, but and I have placed many orders for our youth and after school program. I ordered online for delivery at 4:50 pm. Around 5:00 pm I called Papa John's and gave the instructions of how to get to our church, even though we have placed many orders before. At 5:53 pm I called the store and asked to speak to the manager named Mike. I explained that I have been waiting very long for my order; he said that the pizza was on the way and it should take just a couple of minutes for the pizzas to arrive.
I called the store again at 6:11 pm and Mike answered the phone again, I explained that our youth (16 teenagers + 2 adults) was waiting for the pizzas. He told me that it was normal to take that long. I called once more at 6:24 pm and I was told that the delivery guy was almost there. I finally called again at 6:33 pm a lady answered the phone and she told me the driver could not find the church and went back to Papa John's, but since I called they were delivering them right away and if it would take longer than 15 minutes we should not worried about paying for them. Fair enough, in good faith we waited.
The delivery guy arrived at 6:57 pm, he was very apologetic but the pizzas were cold. I was told that our order was out for delivery at 5:16 pm. The youth leader complained the pizzas were cold and the deliverer called Mike, the manager, talked to him and passed me the phone. I explain the situation, again, and asked if the store could waive the charges, since we're regular customers and I would have to warm the pizzas up. He said he did not care if the pizzas were cold or not and that I should just pay for the pizzas. Then I asked him if he would be happy with pizzas that were baked over 1:40 minutes ago, and since we were regular customers I asked him again to just waive the charges. He said I was lying and he does not care for our business and hang up on me.
This is unacceptable and I'm never ordering from that Papa John's again. This manager, Mike, was completely unprofessional and disrespectful. The way he spoke to me was unwarranted and condescending and I hope that disciplinary action is placed upon him. His customer service skills were extremely offensive.

With hungry grandkids at my side. 1 supreme and 1-3 meat not so complex? While 4-6 employees shuffled here and there, customers standing around...finally get my stuff and go.
Get home realize the supreme looks not too supreme - like as if ordered only sausage and olive. The other was ok, but I'd paid 38$ for them and the call in was quoted 23$, hence the reason for ordering the special...So my wife called them back. So they want us to return the pizza's already getting dug in, un-opened (too late) and give a 10$ credit on our next order? Huh? So now I'm frustrated and not planning a next order. So I call the 800#, which I received no sympathy either. I was told the special in that case was online only? Huh? It was quoted on phone and I picked up, for almost double $ and 1 hr time, for what could have been delivered... Better quality... By ANY other place in town, the whole idea of me picking it up was saving $...Duh?
So now I'm really peeved. I will no longer do papa john's over this, and that's sad. After complaining online now they issued me an auto generated apology, but no human in this whole chain of events saw any fault? I guess it's mine, won't happen again....

Upon opening the lid to take out the Pizza I noticed foreign substance - clear in color, laying on the bottom of the box next to the Pizza, but not touching it. We ordered a pizza from Papa John's. Was delivered late. That was no big deal; I can live with that. Eating it came to find out had about 1% to none sauce on it. So I called to talk to the GM Nicole. She basically told me it's because I never ordered light sauce before (I thought she said white). So I asked her, "So you're telling me because of my tastes buds, this is a bad pizza?" - Basically agreed (by now I was laughing). I said, Ok, fine. Ty bye." Realizing and rechecking ticket. Said light sauce. I called her back. Explained it was a bad pizza, no sauce. She kept to her guns. No comp or coupons. Assuming I was a liar or trying to get a free pizza. I asked her "Do you treat all the people who have complaints like **-foolish..." She said, I quote "You swore I will never deliver to your address again." Call ends. I have never in my life been treated so rude or not refunded for a bad order of anything. If that store doesn't check its customer relations... It's goodbye business. I didn't alter or correct anything in this.

We have tried Papa John products for the last 4 years or so. It is just our opinion that the pizzas are very overrated. There are NO "Better ingredients....", as advertised. The pies are no better than something you would microwave from the freezer. The one we ordered Sunday, June 22, will be our last try. A small pie, one topping, $10. Dough like bread, little sauce, undercooked, (after I asked for crispy). If you live in South Boston, VA, get a $5 Pizza Pizza. Or, go to a real pizzeria. The franchise should spend more on the products they serve, and, less on this big national bogus advertising crud. Thank you.

Well the guy told me that they don't have $10 pizzas and if I want $10 pizzas then I need to go to Pizza Hut. I replied if I wanted Pizza Hut I would have called them. He says, "Well, we have 2 pizzas for $21 plus tax." So I said ok I guess and I ordered a cookie pizza as well. When I got my order 35 minutes later, my pizzas was undercooked and the cookie was overcooked. I had to finish cooking the pizza.
I then called the manager (Vidal), I asked about the $10 pizzas. He said that was not true and they do have $10 pizzas. I told him I have been ordering from there for years and this was the worst ever. He said, "What's the problem?" I said pizza undercooked and cookie overcooked. He said, "What do you want me to do about it?" He said, "I can give you a credit or remake it." I said I rather have my money back. Well he said that's not going to happen. I said why. He said it is against company rules to do a cash refund. So I want my refund of $32.16 and I will go elsewhere.

I believe Papa John's has, in certain cases, been overcharging customers regarding their 30 cent special. All their advertising and websites clearly state: "Through Jan 26, 2014, get a large one-topping pizza for just 30 cents with the purchase of any large pizza at regular menu price." It clearly states the deal is with the purchase of ANY large pizza. When I ordered a large cheese pizza for $12.75, I expected to receive a large pepperoni for an additional 30 cents. Since the plain cheese was less than the pepperoni, they tried to charge me the full price of the more expensive pepperoni and give me the cheaper cheese pizza for 30 cents. When I asked them to explain their calculations, I was told that's the way the register computes it. This occurred at more than one location.
I called their customer service number (877-547-7272) on Jan 20, 2014 to ask about this and was told that's the way it is done in New Jersey. I wanted to find out more and was told I would receive a call within three days. It's been a week and nobody has called. I then called the main office on Jan 27, and asked to speak with someone. Their operator transferred me to voice mail to leave a message. No call by Jan 30.

I have been ordering pizza from Papa John’s since the 1990s. In the past few weeks, I have encountered a problem with Papa John’s honoring their promo codes that they send to me in the mail or by email. If I get a coupon for a free cheese pizza or 1-topping pizza, I would always pay the difference of the few toppings that I wished to add. Lately, the website does not let me do that. So after placing the order, I called the store and they told me there is nothing they can do, so I called 888-275-7272. Depending on who I get on the phone, sometimes they help me; sometimes they tell me there is nothing they can do about the coupon Papa John’s sent me that does not let me add additional toppings and pay the difference.
Today, they took so long to answer the phone. The delivery driver was knocking at my door as I was still on the phone with the guy from corporate. And he kept interrupting me as I was talking! I could not even finish my sentences! I ended up tipping the driver $5 for his efforts (because I knew the mix up was not his fault) and ended up paying a $5 tip and not even getting any food!!! What happened to Papa John’s quality? Besides angering a 20 + year loyal customer, isn’t not honoring your own coupons fraudulent? My family and I have been ordering from the same Papa John's since we moved to the area. They are fairly new. On May 21st we ordered a large half pepperoni, mushroom, half Canadian bacon, mushroom and olive for lunch. My mother, 3-year-old daughter and myself all ate the pizza with no problem. Later that night/early morning, my daughter was crying for me. I went into her room to find her vomiting. I got her up, gave her a bath and laid her back down. 30 minutes or so later she was vomiting again.. This continued all afternoon. I myself felt a little nauseated, but I'm also pregnant so I was not 100% sure. It crossed my mind that it could have been the pizza, but I spoke with my mom who was fine (she also ate the half Canadian bacon).
As the day went on, I got a little worried and felt like she needed to go to the doctor. They chalked it up to a stomach virus and said they didn't want to do x-rays unless it continued. "Keep her on the BRAT diet and give her the medication," which was Zofran. I did. 24 hours passed and she seemed to be feeling better. So on May 24th, we ordered pizza again - large half cheese, half pepperoni. I cut up a piece of the pepperoni for her for dinner. After eating most of the slice, she told me it was "gross, I'm full." I was like, "okay." We watched a movie and went to bed. 3:11AM I heard her crying for me again. I went into her room. She was vomiting. I once again put here in the bath and back in bed. I gave her the Zofran tonight in hopes that she would not get as sick as last time.
Papa John's once again crosses my mind! This time I'm feeling pretty confident that their pizza is what is making her sick because now I'm also sick! I vomited a small amount. I'm taking her back to the doctor this morning when they open. I want x-rays and any other test they can do. I question if they are using spoiled ingredients, etc. Either way I'm going to be livid that my 3-year-old (and myself) had to suffer because of someone else's lack of responsibility and their stupidity!!

I'm only giving this one star because I have to just to write a review. I've been thinking about calling it quits with Papa John's. Food is good, but the delivery people always get it wrong. Always. There may have been a couple occurrences where they actually did their job right. I digress, it all started when I lived on my own with my fiance at the time. First time I had it delivered, my order was wrong. I got two large pizzas with a two liter drink. It was like $12 or something. Either way, they only got my two pizzas and no drink. I didn't call. It was only a dollar. Whatever. Next time they delivered, I got a combo that came with bread sticks; a Cinnapie pizza; a two liter; and a large, one topping pizza. They forgot the drink again. So I ran outside my apartment and said, "Excuse me, you forgot my drink!" He was polite and said he'd bring it out back later.
I had heard this once before from other delivery driver from another food place, so I didn't believe him. I waited for an hour and decided to call. I swore I bought it. They said I never bought it, even though I clicked on the stupid button. It never went through for whatever reason. At least I didn't get charged for it. Still irritating though. Well when I received this order, it was all greasy on only one side of the box. It was greasy on all the boxes, and when I opened them up, my bread sticks were all on one side and the grease ran down from them onto the other boxes. Disgusting. The Cinnapie was alright. The bread sticks tasted awful though. This was only in one location - Greenwood, IN.
Next location, I only had one complaint. I mean after the hassle in Greenwood, I was actually kinda scared to have delivery again. I ordered twice. First one was for my son's birthday party, but we picked it up. Second one was delivery. I waited for a half hour and it finally arrived. I ordered a pizza, a drink and a thing of bread sticks. It was some combo deal. Either way, he just gave me the pizza. Really. So I asked him about the drink. He almost forgot and ran back to his car and grabbed it. Before I could review over what I got, he booked out of our neighbor hood. Well I saw we didn't have any bread sticks. Geez. So I called, reviewed the order and was charged for it. They said they'd make me a fresh batch with free dipping sauces of my choosing and however many. I didn't ask for much. Only got two sauces and the manager was very polite, said it'd be another half hour. Also said it'd be free of charge. It better be, I bought it.
Well half hour rolled by and I got my bread sticks. The delivery driver was very nice and made sure it was okay. The bread sticks were fresh as promised and they tasted wonderful. Well, I was still charged for my order. They didn't give me a discount or anything. The dips were free of charge though, like he said, and this location was Beech Grove, IN. Then here recently, my buddies and I went to one of their brother's Christmas family thing and ordered Papa John's. Everything was fine until the next day, he got food poisoning. He was in bed all day, throwing up and just overall on the toilet. He couldn't get away from it and he said it's always just been in that location - Camby, IN. So this has happened more than once. Said he forgot it was in that specific location.
I think I'm done with Papa John's. Or at least I'm going to start doing pickup. Almost every time they've delivered, it's been a hassle. Kinda annoying. I mean, how hard is it to look at the receipt and make sure everything is there? I'm a server and it's not hard at all. I'm more rushed! Most of the delivery drivers looked liked they were zonked out. Either drunk or high. Really? It's sad because I've been in customer service and try to do my best. What's happening? Are they slacking off more now? Do they not care? I've read other complaints on here and it's all the same. If too many people are saying almost the exact same thing about a company, there's something wrong here. I'm calling it quits. I'm too afraid to order anything from them anymore.

We used to order from Papa John's at least a couple of times a month for almost 2 years but stopped almost a year ago. The last few orders before we called it quits consisted of a pizza that was not fully baked or completely wrong ingredients. We only called in one time when the pizza was pretty much raw and the store manager was happy to replace it. Fast forward to Friday. We ordered two pizzas, bread, and wings. The latter two were awesome but one pizza was 100% wrong. It was actually someone else's pizza put into our box. I called and had to go through a bit of a runaround in order to get a new pizza made and delivered. The manager said it would take at least 1.5 hours and we said we would wait since we wouldn't touch the other pizza. (I hate green peppers and my husband hates olives.)
They did drop off a replacement but sadly, the hubs and I suffered from the moment we swallowed the first bite until the intestinal aftermath that followed. My husband had more GI issues than me and I am sure our dogs joined those around the neighborhood in howling at the stench that resulted from the revenge of the PJ pizza. The cats followed him and tried to bury him in their litter box while the bathroom fan pulled double duty before finally committing suicide and dying a slow death. Seriously, peeling paint was only the beginning. I had become best friends with a bottle of extra strength Tums while popping Xantac for the terrible heartburn. He had ordered the meatball special pizza.
I would definitely advise against that as the pink slime that has been banned from schools has surely been sold to PJ's and turned into what could never pass as a real meatball. They weren't even round. We won't order from them again. The people are awesome. The delivery guy was professional but the food was terrible. My advice is save yourselves and go to Domino's or any other store until PJ's can figure out their quality control issue.

We always eat at Papa Murphy's - great pizza, but you have to cook yourself. My wife and I didn't feel like cooking so we ordered a Papa John's online. We picked up the pizza and when we opened the box, it looked like a cheap frozen pizza. There were no toppings to speak of, no extra cheese and it cost $17.44 compared to our regular Murphy's for about $10. It never had Canadian bacon served in thin strips. It had no taste; it was nasty.
When we called customer service, they put us through to the store manager and she basically could not care less. She offered another pizza - if the first one was bad, why have another one? She was flat nasty. Then, we got a call from one of their customer service reps who was very, very nice. They reversed the charge on our debit card. If their pizza was as good as their customer service, they would be fine.
I'm back to Papa Murphy's. I may have to cook it myself, turn on the oven, pick it up, stick it in for 15 minutes and enjoy.

Every time I order, we order extra garlic butter sauce, which my family loves. Often we order up to 5 extra containers, which cost approximately $.50 each. The problem is that we never received them. Every time, the delivery driver apologizes, even offers to bring some back (later). This is unacceptable. I have just let it go because its only a couple of dollars each time. Well, that adds up. I have contacted the company and got no response. This is theft and if they rip off even 50% of their customers, a couple of dollars each time, think about how much money that is. I am tired of being robbed by this company!

I was waiting for more than 1 hour and 40 minutes to get my order and finally, I got only one with a very bad attitude. I left the place and was really angry about what they did to me. I will inform everyone about that and really, from now on, I will work hard to let the customer go out of your restaurant. Until now there is no one saying sorry for that. I wish you will know how to train your staff and care about the customer.

Well, I used to order a while back and it was ok. It's real good pizza. So I ordered again. The first pizza was fast delivery. That was good. But I had nothing on it; I probably had 5 pieces of sausage and 2 bites of green pepper on the whole pizza and maybe 5 pepperonis on the whole extra large pizza. I told them when I ordered a second time that I wanted more ingredients. They just ignored me, and the skimpy pizza came. It looked like they took one sliver of green pepper on the whole pizza that's not even covered in pepperoni or sausage. Why am I paying $17 for about 20 cents of ingredients? Well now, I'm done. They just lost a customer, because if this is the way they want to do business, I'm out. I'll never order from them again.

The new location of Papa John's in East Saint John, NB Canada sucks! I was not happy with my pizza because it was dry, had very little toppings and too much crust. When I called the store, I was told since I do not like their pizza, they advised me to go elsewhere next time. The manager's name was Christ. LOL. That's what the box says. It was bought Friday evening, July 6th. I called Saturday, July 7th. When I arrived at the store to get my free pizza, I went to tell the girl and she said, "I do not want to hear about it and you can leave right now. Threatening us you're going to go to Domino's and saying stuff about our store." I left and I will never return.

He didn't even say sorry or anything. This information should have been online as soon as I pushed the "place my order" button instead of letting someone get their mouth set for pizza. I should have been offered a coupon or promo code for a free pizza. Papa John's needs to gain more respect for their customers.

A friend introduced my son to Papa John's. It was an instant hit. Every Friday and sometimes an extra day in the week, my teen eats a pizza from your location at #848. This has gone on for at least 2.5 years (your records should show this). To make it easier, I stop by the store and pick up the order. Almost everyone at your counter (mostly the young ladies) know me. I have not changed my order in 2.5 years and the price has always been the same.
My first incident happened on May 18, 2012. I called in my usual order at 6 pm. As soon as I started placing the order, the order taker cut me off and said it was not available, Extra Large with 3 toppings totaling $15.75? I was very surprised, as I had been ordering it for the last couple of years. I know it is possible to make changes, but I knew he did not know. I repeated the deal for $14.99 again, and he kept saying it was not available. When I said I wanted to speak to someone else, he put me on hold and came back saying that I gave him the wrong deal. I was supposed to say $15.00! Okay! I have said $14.99 for 2.5 years and no one corrected me? I know he has taken my orders many times because of his unique name. I placed my order and picked it up.
Yesterday, May 24, I called again to place an order, and this time, he refused to even acknowledge the fact that there was a $14.99 or $15 deal. I was too tired to argue and thanked him. He was and I could tell the surprise in his voice when I told him, "Thank you and goodbye." I was not going to fight with him and have him spit in my food (sorry, but that is just how I feel). I called the other Papa John's on Richmond Highway and ordered exactly the deal ** from your store refused to give me. I, in turn, called back store 848 and spoke to a different gentleman who was very apologetic. I guess his name was **?
Anyway, I just want you to know that you have lost a very loyal customer/family/team mother who buys all the pizza during the football/baseball season. My family does not like change, but this is one change I plan to make. Good luck.

Advertised a two topping pizza for $10.00 but really cost $14.38. They delivered so quickly I was impressed, but then realized upon tasting it, that it must have been pre-made then reheated. I ordered their $12 special pizza and when I got to the Oxford, AL store, they said I needed to pay $13.75. Well, I said, "That is too much." Oxford, AL has a 10% tax rate and that should only come to $13.20. What is the other money for? Well, it took a while and the manager had to come over to see what he could do to fix it. What is happening is the special deal is not taking off enough money to come up with the correct price. So I said, "Well, you can get the extra money from other people, but not me." The manager said, "Well, I did not know this was happening." Whether he knew or not, people are paying too much, and I bet I have paid too much in the past and did not notice for being in a rush to eat.
I want someone to look into this and see if it is not only happening at this location, but all over the US. Then that means Papa John's special deals are not really a special price, are they? After waiting for about 5 minutes or more and my pizza now getting cold, I only had to pay $13.20. Again, how many people are paying the extra $0.55 for this deal? I think it is something to look into.

On Sunday April 1, 2012, I ordered 2 pies, one was a buffalo chicken pizza with no onions. Well, I received the pie and my child bit into in the pie - it was filled with onions. When I called, the young lady was pleasant and tried to the best of her ability to resolve my problem. The young lady called me back and informed me that the driver would not be able to bring me a new pie and pick the old one up, so I asked her if I could speak to the manager. She said sure. I was on hold for about 6 minutes. Then I was hung up on. When I called back, I was able to speak to the manager and asked him why I wouldn't be able to get another pie. Actually, the pie I originally asked and paid for. He replied by telling me I can order another one and he would take 25% off and I replied absolutely not. Why should I be accountable for one of your associate’s mistakes? He informed me that I sounded ridiculous and told me that the only way I would get another pie is that I come down there and get it myself.
He also told me that he didn’t have any drivers. I told him I will wait. When I said that, he said again that I sounded ridiculous and hung up on me. So I went to the Papa John’s store located in 335 St. Georges Ave. in Linden, NJ 07036. When I got there, the young lady clearly already knew who I was because he was yelling and making a scene before I got there. So I asked for him to come up front since he had so much to say on the phone. He came up front yelling and screaming, "Get the ** out of my store!" Repeatedly, he yelled that and he called me fat **. That’s when I got up in his face and pushed him. I asked him who he thought he was talking to. He said, “You, you fat **! Now, get the ** out of my store!”
When I refused to leave, we both called the police. They asked what had taken place. I told them. Meanwhile, he's still screaming and carrying on. So my question: is this type of behavior is supposed to be okay coming from a store manager named ** (if that's his name) to conduct business as well as conducting himself with a customer? This was my first and last time ever dealing with your store again. I've called several numbers at the corporate office and as of now, no one has called me back. I’m very disturbed by this!

This is an eye opener.
1. If you live in a neighborhood or apartment complex that is not serviced, there is good reason for it: crime, robberies, etc. This has nothing to do with race, although in some locations one may be more dominant than the other. This is not a factor. If drivers are frequently harassed, management will, with much consideration, choose to not deliver to certain locations for the safety of their workers. Be active. Report your neighbors if you know there is a problem. Help reduce the crime and get your area back to a safe zone.
2. Late deliveries: no manager at any restaurant can have 100 people on staff. Just in case they get overwhelmingly busy, sometimes during high demand situations the staff is doing everything they can to get you your product. They don’t want it late anymore than you do. Late means no tip and they work off of tip-based income. But if it is later than the quoted time, a responsible manager will discount or even free out an order if the customer has been waiting for a more than reasonable amount of time. If yours didn’t, then, yes, you were not taken care of as you should have been. Your complaint is valid.
3. This is a biggy: when your order history is loaded with free orders and you haven’t actually paid for a pizza in a long time, you will be considered a scammer. It happens all the time. I myself have had customers come in place an order, had it read back to them and still left and called to say it was wrong—they ordered something completely different and wanted free pizza. When you do this often, it’s a red flag. When the sec camera has audio, we review it to confirm you ordered exactly what you got. It’s not rocket science to figure out what you’re up to and any business has the right to refuse service to anyone (such as, if a genuine mistake has been made that is obviously the store’s responsibility to correct).
Conclusion: if you have a real problem, make a real complaint. If you are a scammer, here’s a thought: if you want something, pay for it. The ones making it for you pay taxes so you can have your nice government-provided home food and healthcare provided for. You don’t take anymore out of the working population’s pocket than you already have.

As I called in an order for pickup, thirty minutes later my husband and I pulled into Papa John’s parking lot. Before exiting our vehicle my husband and I sat and waited the remaining ten minutes before actual pickup time. While sitting there in our vehicle we witnessed an employee (woman) whom we think may be a manager in uniform exiting her vehicle with a dog cage with a rat terrier dog in it. As she approached a vehicle besides her showing them her early Valentines present (dog) her husband got her. As she walked away with dog in cage in uniform she entered in the back door, which employees enter and exit thru. My husband then gets out and goes in to pick our pizzas up to find this same (woman) employee in Papa John’s working! Needless to say, dog is inside in the cooking area of Papa John’s. It does not take a rocket scientist to know this is a health issue and not permitted! Due to no name tags my husband was unable to get this employee’s name but we were able to get her vehicle description and license plate number. Indiana plate: **. Needless to say once we reached home and opened our $44.00 order we found a white short hair on one of the BBQ chicken wings! Totally disgusted! Something needs to be done!

With the biggest sales day for pizza approaching (Super Bowl), please consider this story when selecting a pizza company to deliver your pizza. This happened to me on 1/7/2012. I had a piece of metal shrapnel, about the size of the end of your finger with sharp prongs sticking out, in my Papa John's pizza. Papa John's determined it came from their mechanism that moves pizza in and out of the ovens. Talk about "special ingredients"? Call some other pizza company for their Super Bowl pizza.

I'm a whiny crybaby customer who wasn't cuddled by the underpaid employees of my local Papa John's. I ordered a pizza, which was read back to me, and I agreed was correct, only to change my mind after I got it. I complained that they didn't know I forgot to add pineapple, and I wanted a free pizza to replace it. They said no problem, they would send out another pizza. I just had to return the incorrect pizza to the driver. I'm really just an ** trying to get free **, so I ranted and raved for ten minutes about the unfairness of the situation. I told them I wanted a free replacement, a refund, and to keep the pizza they made correctly in the first place. When they refused this, I started screaming and cursing at the person on the phone. They were very polite, so I figured being a big baby would get me what I wanted.
They still would not give me everything, and when I started threatening to come to the store and kill everyone, they actually hung up the phone on me! How rude. I called back thirty or forty times, with pretty much the same situation each time. Then they had the gall to call the police, and tell them I seemed unstable. I very calmly lied and told the officer that I had ordered a completely different pizza, then called back when I got the one they sent. I told him I had been very polite, only to be cursed and screamed at, told I was a fat stupid **, and that they would never make me a pizza again.
My sense of self-entitlement is so overwhelming that I really thought the officer would make them do what I wanted. I can't believe he actually enforced the judge to order a restraining order against me! I will never order from this Papa John's location again, not because I'm banned for life, but because of their terrible customer service. When I called to try to get something for free, they are supposed to cave and do what I want. What **!

We have to pay staff to go around and pick up all these coupons and throw them away.
This is costly for both me and you. Not to mention the time that our staff has to take out of their day to collect all the flyers when they could be doing other task. If you would like to bring in flyers to our office we will be happy to hand them out and place them in our move in packets for all our new residents. We do have an area in our office that is designated for all out residents to come in and pick out the coupons that they need. Then about 3 weeks ago, I placed another order that arrived 30 minutes late and was undercooked and was not prepared as I had specified in my order. I called the customer service department and filed 2 complaints. I was told that a district manager or the store owner would call me in a couple of days. It's been over 2 weeks and no one has called. Papa John's claims they were awarded best customer service for the past 7 years. Well, it's a lie because if they did resolve customer service issues, how come I still have not heard from anyone? Papa John's is a joke of a company. I ordered $25-$30 from them every other week, but guess what? I called to order pizza on 12/27/11 at 6:01PM. A young woman answered the phone and identified herself as "Shenell". I advised her that I wanted to place an order and could she look at the account as there should be a courtesy pizza from a previous incident with a driver who threatened my daughter. "Shenell" then replied, "there is nothing like that on your account". I asked her could she please speak with her manager. At that time, I could hear Michael state "just give it to her". At that time, she gave me a total of $1.99 and hung up. I then called back at 7:06PM to inquire about an ETA for the pizza. I said "hello, I am calling to see the delivery time frame for and I provided my address". Shenell then stated it'll be there in a little while. I asked if she could tell me the time the pizza left. She stated 6:16PM. I then stated that I just wanted to check on an ETA since it has been almost an hour. Shenell then replied, "you'll just have to wait. It is raining and it takes time to drive".
I then asked her what her name was again and she said "why?". I said, "because you are being awfully condescending to someone just trying to find out the time". Shenell then hung the phone up on me. I called back and requested to speak to a manager. She placed me on hold for 15 minutes and someone returned to the phone and identified himself as Cedric, the manager. I asked him just to make sure, "are you the manager?". He replied that he was the night shift manager and then asked what the problem was.
I started to explain when I heard Shenell yell out as if I was on speakerphone, "tell her to stop ** lying". Using profanity. I then asked if he had me on speaker and why was he allowing an employee to listen in on a conversation. Cedric then replied that the volume on the phone was loud and that is how she heard me. I advised him that I would be making a complaint about tonight and the customer service as well as his handling of the situation. I told him that it is hard to believe that the volume of the phone would be that loud to allow an employee to listen to my remarks considering the fact that I am speaking in a low tone.
Cedric then apologized and offered another free pizza. I explained to him that this is not about free pizza as I always purchase pizzas from this location. My concern is about the customer service and disrespect I have received on two occasions. I asked Cedric what his last name was, which he replied "we're not allowed to give out our last names". I asked him about the general manager's information which he replied that he would take care of it and would probably send the young lady home. I called another location where I asked about his procedure for complaints and she provided me the site information. She then advised me that the young woman at the other location should have never been allowed to hear the conversation I had with the manager there, much less, curse at the customer on the phone.
I am and will be further pursing this situation if need be by also making a complaint via the Better Business Bureau. This is by far a terrible situation for a customer to have to go through when you call somewhere for food and those individuals are preparing food for you and your family. So I called in one day and talked to an assistant manager who said they could sell me a case at $15. Then they said they would call me back. Week goes by, I ordered Papa John's again and told the delivery driver to tell his manager Christine and general manager Jeff to call me back as they had promised. Two weeks later, I went to Papa John's and talked to Christine again. Then she called the general manager and they said they cannot sell it to me.
After all this time of making me wait then they turned me down. They should not have told me in the first place that they could sell it to me then. On 9/15/11, I ordered your current special, which is one large pizza up to 7 toppings, from the website. When I received the pizza, it was the wrong pizza. So, I called in to inquire about what happened. The manager at the time, Darik, said that mine was put in the wrong bag. He offered one that night or the same deal for free next time. Being very hungry, I opted for the latter. When I called in to get the free pizza, I was originally told that they can't do more than 2 toppings on a free pizza, which is not what I was told before. The manager, I was told Purgut, got on the phone. He started to give me a lecture on how he can't do that, but will do it for this time only. I felt belittled by his tone as I thought I was getting a free pizza that I was entitled to. He then said that I have to pay for delivery. But I countered that this whole thing should be free as they messed up the order last time. He asked, "Did you return the pizza?" His tone was very condescending. He tried to lecture me on how he doesn't do double toppings (which is offered on their website). He said that in fact, the deal is over (which isn't true as shown on your website).
As I didn't agree with having to pay for delivery again, I argued that I shouldn't have to pay. The fact is, their delivery charge of $2.50 would have gone to the delivery person. But it was the way he spoke to me and the principle. He insisted that I pay, saying that I didn't bring the other one (the first, wrong order). Then, he said that he can just make the pizza and then delivery it again to someone else in in my city. That upset me very much. My reaction wasn't too positive. I said, "What the ** are you talking about?!" He then said that I can just complain to corporate and hung up. I called again immediately to get his name. A female picked up and put me on hold. When the delivery driver delivered the pizza, my guest that paid for the pizza online with his credit card is the one that sighed for it. I was not aware of the fact that my guest did not give a tip to the driver.
In retaliation for not receiving a tip, the driver that parked in the street in front of my drive way then started throwing trash from her car into my drive way including other customers orders receipts. The driver apparently didn't see me standing in my door way observing her throwing trash from her car into my drive way, one plastic bottle of soda hit the back of my car although it didn't do any damage since the soda bottle was empty. It's really bad business if this is the way Papa John's treats their customers that spends almost $40.00. I will never go back. I did call and talked to the manager on duty but he acted like it was funny and said my guest should have left a tip. They already charged a delivery charge online, so my guest believed that was the tip he didn't know.

On 11/12/2010 at 5:56 pm, I entered this store with my wife and my sister. I ordered the special 2 large pies with 2 toppings, wings and a soda. I ordered the thick crust and repeated it 3 times because the guy taking the order didn't speak or understand English well. When I drove home and open the boxes it was thin crust. I called the store and they begin to insist that I had ordered the thin crust. After speaking with 3 different people, they tell me to come back and pick up 2 other pizzas. They refused to deliver it because I was out of their coverage area. I asked them to call a Papa John’s closer to me and have it delivered and they refused. This is the first time that I have ordered anything from Papa John’s and my first experience is not good at all.

First, during the phone call to make my order, a young lady who failed to greet me nor mention her name answered the phone. I initially asked her what time does the establishment close and she said “Now!”. It was 10:19pm at that time. Then I asked her were they still taking orders, she then put me on hold and asked someone, “Are we still taking orders?”. She came back to the phone and said, “Yes, we are still taking orders”. I was like, “So why did you tell me you're close, if you are still taking orders?”. She did not answer my question and asked me do I want to order, I replied yes.
I ordered 30 BBQ wings, then asked how long will it take for delivery, she said it would take one hour and 30 minutes, so I told her I would pick it up. She replied that it would be ready in 15 minutes. When I reached the establishment, I realized on the door that the establishment did not close until 11 pm, therefore the female who answered the phone and took my order was not only unprofessional but straight out lied to me. When I entered the establishment the first thing I noticed was the smell of alcohol. Also no one greeted me, the first thing that came out the female's mouth who had a short afro hair cut, that was the cashier, was “Did you already put your order in?”, which I believe it was the same female who took my order. But I replied and said yes 30 wings.
After paying the female who took my payment she started texting on her personal phone, then started talking on it. I asked the female who took my payment, what is the female's name who took my order, she again did not answer my question just replied, she's gone for the night. Not even a minute later a female with braids came out the back and said, “I'm gone ya'll, see you later”. She did not sound like the young lady who took my order. Before the young lady who had braids left, the female with short hair said, “The lady Evett just called and said she got pulled over”, the young lady with the braids said, “Who is that?”. The lady with the short haircut said, “The same lady who we have been having trouble with for the past couple of weeks, saying that when she orders, she says deliver and we always put carryout.”
Me, as a customer, hearing this, I am like, wow, the only reason I am picking my order is because every time I order, I ask for deliver, and then an hour past by and I call back, they tell me I told them carryout, when I know for sure I said deliver. Then they tell me it just left, it will be there in 5 minutes, then another thirty minutes go by. After I received my order, I noticed the manager's name on the box was Erica, which I believe was the same person who took my order, and was texting and using her phone. This establishment is very unprofessional and needs customer service training, and a new manager, who believes in customer satisfaction, because the night shift manager doesn't uphold that.

My complaint is of a different nature. Both my husband and I have noticed that there are never any African Americans or other minorities used in your commercials. I don't quite understand since every time I go to the restaurant, there are only blacks behind the counter. We order quite a lot and are wondering if our patronage is even appreciated. I plan to keep writing until my concerns are answered.

I ordered a pizza on Wednesday, October 27, using the promotion where you get large pizza with a topping for each Dallas Cowboys touchdown (four in this case) for $8.99. I was extremely disappointed when the pizza arrived and had all four toppings but in a quantity less than one would expect if only ordering one topping. In fact, it was nothing more than a cheese pizza with a light dusting of toppings.

I made an order for a pizza at 6:23 pm, and after 45 minutes, I called and was told my pizza would be delivered to me within 20 minutes. Forty-five minutes later, I called and demanded to speak to the manager and was told that it was a mix-up. They thought my order was for pick-up, which didn’t make any sense because I was told earlier that it was already on the way. The manager then asked if I would still like my order; at this time it is 7:50 pm and I had no choice but to say yes. But there wasn’t any type of offer made for my inconvenience. I was really disappointed in the service on all counts. The young lady who had taken my order was very short with me and never even told me her name. I work in a professional atmosphere and wasn't expecting 1st class treatment, but I expected a lot more professionalism.

Began work as driver a few months ago. During training, I messed up an order but it was able to be corrected without customer issues. Manager would say I was not fired but would not put me on the schedule for weeks at a time. I would call manager and district manager and was given run around regarding my hours and 2 missing pay checks. I was fired this week-not by manager but by assistant who wrote down that I was canned because of messing up orders, taking too long to deliver, etc.
I have never called in and worked any over time asked of me, including filling in at other stores during my training period. The firing note was very unprofessional. There was no date, no handbook or evidence of consequences for behaviors, no rule book. Nothing. So basically I was fired because they did not like me?
From what I learned businesses are supposed to have disciplinary rules and steps to lead towards termination-the manager himself should have talked with me instead of lying and giving me the run around-there was no training check list either to ensure that I was trained to do the job properly. What is going on here?

Me and my children were shopping and went to Papa John's to get a pizza. I walk in first, heard a man yelling at a woman and using really fowl language. If I was that woman, I would have quit because he was cursing her and called her stupid. They didn't even see me come in, and i didn't want my children to hear such fowl language.
I think he shouldn't talk to an employee like that. He should have done it in private. The management was not professional and I will not come back there until somebody gets them under control. I felt real sorry for the lady he was yelling at.

Orders from this store, consistently very poorly prepared. If more than two toppings are ordered on a pizza at least half of them will be left off. The pizza crust is always undercooked and the quantity of the toppings that are put on the pizza is always ridiculously sparse. Apparently the managers at this store are much more interested in keeping their bottom line expenses cheap than providing a product that satisfies their customers desires in a pizza pie.
After giving this Papa John's store many extra tries to get it right (because we like Papa John's pizza), I am not ordering anything from the Mebane, NC Papa Johns #1735 again. I am switching to Domino's Pizza in Mebane where the product is consistently much better prepared and the amount of toppings put on the pizza is plentiful and done right! The recent order copied below is only the latest example of an order that was placed with Papa John's #1735 in Mebane, NC, with which they totally ruined a weekend football party for me and my wife. The dough was undercooked although we ordered it "well done" as noted, and half the toppings were not included. And what little toppings were put on it were so skimpy that we had to add our own sausage, pepperoni, and anchovies (among others) to the pizza, in order to to make it worth serving and eating!

I've never had good service from this place, but I love Papa John's Pizza and this one is only a few blocks from home. Tonight I called to order a pizza after checking their hours online. The website stated they delivered until 11:45pm, I called at 11:20. The girl who answered the phone answered by saying, "Thank you for calling Papa John's. I'm sorry. We're closed." I asked what time they closed and she paused, then said 11:15. And before I could speak she hung up on me. It's just rude. The order is never right. The person on the line is always rude. Once I was told I had to pick up my order because they had never heard of my street (which, at the time was Murat St...only about 6 blocks away). I won't order from here ever again.

I walked in to worde the Monday special, which I have done many times in the past. I thought it unusual that there was nobody making pizzas, and this bozo was the only one there. I payed and 15 minutes later picked up a pizza that I wish I had looked at, because I really think he gave me something from the refrigerator warmed over. I am not sure whether the oven was moving or not. I saw delivery men outside but inside there was no action at all.
I was food poisoned. I had stomach pain 2 hours later and threw up three times that night. I had to call in sock the next day. I was so weak after lying down for 18 hours. I was to play basketball Wed but there will be no basket ball until nest week and I was in perfect shape. I was deliberately poisoned because this bozo served me a contaminated pizza. There is no way this could have happened if they had made the pizza fresh. By the way, I smelled the leftovers the next day and almost puked again. No doubt. I had been making all my own food and wanted to 'reward' myself. I will probably never eat pizza again. I am really ** about it. In retrospect, it was obvious they were having problems but I was poisoned. I called the location and the person I spoke with sounded like the same guy and of course was a jerk. He really put my health at risk.

First, I know it after hour I had a long day but I always order from Papa John and 90%of the time, it always mess up. I'm not trying to get anything free, but I spend too much money and I never get what I paid for. I order from Papa John like two times out the week, and it be the same thing--a ** order. My bill is over $25.00 every time. It's came to a point where we order cheese bread and a pizza, and they can't get that right.
Like tonight, we called for an order, and they mess that up. We got cheese bread alright, more like bread stick. So we called them back. They never got the cheese breads to this house. it just the pizza sauce. We never get that. They have to go back to the store to bring that back to me, and it takes a half hour and the pizza will be cold. They mess up. A half and half pizza turning into a pineapple is something we don't order. You can check my history. We order pizza from Papa John. This is bad. My little girl can't eat this they brought tonight. I hate calling the big dog, but it isn't what i paid for. PS. The cheese bread bread never made it here.

When I called the manager told me it was my fault and that's how we ordered it. One, we don't like BBQ sauce and the whole thing had BBQ sauce on it. Asked for pineapples and there was no pineapples even though the box said, it did. I had to go out for dinner and spend what little money I have dress the kids and was just [bad] and mad we could not even eat it.

Today, I had gotten ready to order a pizza from Papa Johns, knowing it was Super Bowl Sunday. We called about an hour before the game to make sure we didn't have to wait too long. After calling our local Papa John's number 2196, we were informed that our pizza would be ready in 20-25 minutes. Hearing this, we decided to place our order for one large pizza. Keep in mind that we had ordered this at 6:01PM. (I checked my cellphone records.) We ran to McDonald's to get our other food for the night and got to Papa Johns at 6:40PM, which should had been 20 minutes after our given wait time.
I ran in to get my pizza, only to be told that I'd have to wait another 20 minutes. I thought it was kind of ridiculous, since I had been told 20 minutes on the phone and had came 20 minutes after that, only to be told to wait another 20 minutes. I let it slid, since I saw how busy they were and knew that it was Super Bowl Sunday.
After 20 minutes, we we're told to wait another 20 minutes. I saw other customers who had also been waiting for a long time, their orders simply just sitting there. They had to ask the cashiers to check their orders in order to get them! That is ridiculous!
After waiting almost 40 minutes for my pizza and being told to wait another 20 minutes, I watched as the cashiers told a man who just walked in and placed an order that his pizza would be ready in 20 minutes. They blatantly lied to him knowing that all of us had been waiting for well over 30 minutes for our pizzas that we had ordered over an hour ago! What kind of service is that? Around 7:40PM, the cashier told us that our pizza was in the oven and that it'd be ready in 10 minutes.
Ten minutes later, guess what? She told us our pizza just got in the oven and would be ready in 10 minutes. It was then that I voiced my complaint and asked for my refund. This was at 7:50PM.
I understand that today is a very busy day for them, but if they would have only told me my actual wait time (which was almost 2 hours), I would have just decided to cancel and buy from somewhere else. I had even asked before I placed my order how long the wait time was. Did they think that we we're idiots and wouldn't know how long 20 minutes was?! It was the biggest waste of my time, being lied to, to be told that I would have my pizza in 20 minutes, in 20 minutes, in 10 minutes... I was taken as a fool.
Worst part is another man, who had been waiting there for almost as long as I was, had asked about his pizza many, many times as he was waiting, only to be told "It's not ready yet." Finally, when I was waiting in line to ask for my pizza the final time, I overheard him asking the girls for his order again, only to see the girls check boxes and then congregate to giggle. This is what she told him when he asked her what was so funny. "Honestly, sir, I don't know where your pizza is. I can't find the pizza, the box, or the label. I really don't know where it is." They told him this after he had been waiting for almost an hour and after being told "It's not ready yet." This proves that they didn't even look for his pizza the last few times he had asked for them.
This is the worst service I had ever experienced anywhere. I am a very loyal Papa John's customer too. I have ordered from this Papa John's many times before, usually my order taken by the manager, and I always had a prompt and correct answer as to when my pizza would be ready. I don't know if the manager or other workers knew that the girls were telling people that their pizzas would be ready in 20 minutes or not, because I had heard people in the back saying they were really backed up.
When I asked the manager about this, he simply said, "These girls are just teenagers. It is a busy night, it's really hard to differentiate between 20 minutes and 2 hours." Really? What kind of response is this? Would you tell someone that their pizzas would be ready in 20 minutes when you know for a fact that there are almost 10 people in your store waiting for theirs that they had ordered over an hour ago?
Words cannot describe just how upset I am about this--the way I was lied to and taken as a fool. I only got home to barely catch the beginning of the 4th quarter. If I only had been told the correct wait time, I would never have waited. She kept telling me 20 minutes, 20 minutes, pizza is in the oven. I don't know when any of that was true.
I can assure you that if you called half the customers at this Papa John's, you will get the same complaint. As I was leaving, many of the customers who had been waiting an absurd amount of time told me "You are right, ma'am. You are correct. I'm glad you said something." I assure you that I will never be ordering from this Papa John's again.

I am a regular customer who orders pizza delivery using PJ's online ordering service. When one receives an order confirmation online, the confirmation e-mail explicitly states (as of today): "If we are unable to reach you by telephone, you will receive an e-mail notification from a Papa John's customer support representative.”
As I learned today, this is clearly not the case. I waited three hours and called several times to inquire about an order that should've taken 85-95 minutes. Not only was I told that orders were running behind, but upon calling again I was finally informed that a delivery person had apparently come by and rang the bell, that nobody answered, and my order was thus canceled. Nobody bothered to tell me this the first times I called, and I can assure readers I was waiting at the window the vast majority of the time and never once heard my doorbell ring. No sign.
And more importantly, whether or not the pizza people attempted delivery at the wrong house or not, I never received any communication from the restaurant by phone or e-mail notifying me that my order was in fact canceled. Not only that, but the manager actively refused to negotiate a satisfactory compromise of any kind upon hearing my complaint, essentially asserting the old adage in reverse: it isn't the customer who's always right, but the manager. Forget it, PJ's. You lost a once loyal customer for life.
Hunger, for one. Anger that the restaurant takes no responsibility for what its e-mail service explicitly states to be true: if there's a problem, the restaurant will notify me. And deliberate obfuscation: the manager essentially refused to look into this any further because "it was the email service" (as if that's independent of the franchise which chose to offer the service). As such, I don't even know if my money will really be refunded or not since, after all, I didn't even receive word that my order was annulled.
