I have enjoyed the milkshakes here, they are great and reasonable. But for some reason the last 5 times instead of getting the full milkshake with the left over tin with the extra in it they have given me a cheap ** to go cup like medium size. I never ordered a to go anything. And what they throw the extra away.

Called to place a pickup order at 12:18AM. Called several times, no answer. 4th attempt, phone answered, asked "If I could hold". Answer, "yes." Still on HOLD TEN MINUTES LATER I gave up, got into my car and drove to Denny's. There were 5 people in the restaurant. Placed an order for a club sandwich and it was served pretty quickly. Tried to pay at the register, but no such luck. After fiddling with the cash register for a good 5 minutes, waitress goes to get some help. Help arrives. They had not put a cash drawer in. Really.
But wait... You have got to hear the real reason I am writing! It seems that when I got tired of waiting on hold, I forgot to hang the phone up and when I got back home, I WAS STILL ON HOLD. YES!! Still on hold. I could still hear the people in the restaurant. I may wait for a lot of things in life, but I will surely never wait for a Denny's waitress ever again. I will eat out of a vending machine before I will ever step foot into another of their restaurants. I just want to see how many social media outlets I can share my story with. I have the entire 1 hour and 9 minute call recorded. I'll have to listen to it to see if I can hear myself complaining about being on hold for so long after I gave up and drove to the store. Maybe we can make something good for Youtube!

I go to Denny's in Carol Stream Illinois about 4-5 times a month. I have 4 daughters. I have always go using a coupon for 20% off my phone. Well today they would not let me use my coupon. First they said it was expired which it was not. I made the image clear and then they said it had to be printed out. I said I always come here and use my coupon. Still refused. So I just paid the bill. But before I left I heard her tell the couple sitting down about using a coupon from online. Really rude. Deny me with my kids but okay for a couple to use.

I tried Denny's for the first time a few years ago when our family went to Los Angeles CA. Food was pretty good, there was a great selection & the serving was pretty satisfying, but the best part was that it is open 24 hours. We were tourist back then, our flight arrived at around midnight (or at least late at night) and we were pretty hungry. We stayed at Day's Inn (if memory serves me right) but the cafe near the lobby was closed. For a tourist arriving in the middle of the night, hungry, Denny's is a life saver. Good food available anytime. Thanks Denny's.

Excellent service 9.9 out of 10 times, milkshakes are still awesome. Now as for Cooks, they are always going to be one of those type of hit or miss type of professions. For the most part Denny's is still one of the only places you can count on to open 365/24/7, with fair prices for the quality of food. With that being said, and knowing how people think "based off of what I have read", Denny's has unfortunately received bad reviews because most people tend to go the extra effort to complain rather than praise. DENNY'S IS STILL ABOUT AS AMERICAN YOU CAN GET FOR QUICK, SOLID, AND RELIABLE FOOD CHAINS OUT THERE.

I am a truck driver and have ate at restaurant numerous times over my 12 years with my current company. The last time I was here was about 1 month ago with a dry salmon dinner. This time I ordered the slow cooked pot roast which I have had before here. When I received it it contained three scoops of mashed potatoes and large piece of garlic toast, some vegetables and a small portion of roast beef. The price for this is $9.50. The roast beef looked like ground meat packed together and put onto the plate. I called for the manager and I asked what I was paying for. He stated that it was proportioned to 6 oz of meat. If I would have had a scale, I think it would have been less. Either way I had them take it back and so I ordered a good American Hamburger with fries. This will be my last visit to any Denny's anywhere.

My daughters and I try to patronize different food establishments once a week. Two weeks ago, I suggested the Denny's on Harbison Boulevard in Columbia, SC. I was aware of the past controversies regarding racial discrimination toward customers but surmising that those issues were resolved, decided to visit this established. I entered before my 11 and 15 year old daughters. I look **, but my daughters are clearly mixed race. I was immediately seated on the right side of the establishment, then my kids came in. The right side, as you enter, was full of **.
As each ** entered, they were seated far back in the left side. It was very obvious what was happening. There were tables and booths open on the right side, which was bright and sunny. So, why were the people of color relegated to the left? I do have to say that the food was great, as were the food and service. It was interesting that as were driving home, my 15 year old asked if Denny's was the company that got in lots of trouble several years ago for racial discrimination against customers. Some things never change.

Look at this plate, who the heck serves a dirty dish and have the guts to say it just came off the grill, the manager departed for the back and you can hear her and her staffs laughing. Didn't know you can put plates on a grill. FML!! From the manager to her staff on this shift were very unprofessional and rude. The other server look dumb like he has no high school education and the other dude looked like some kind of pot head. Only if there was an option where you can click "NO STAR" these idiots on this shift don't even deserve a star. I was visiting the Denny's in Lathrop CA. with a few of my buddies. Everything was great until I had to sent my food back twice. I eventually decided I wasn't going to eat and asked our server who was very nice, helpful, professional and very apologetic to please have the food taken off our bill since I didn't even touch it. She was more than happy to do so. She told us she would have to get it ok'd by her manager but it shouldn't be a problem. When our server returned she informed us that her manager refused to take it off the bill. So I asked to talk to the manager. She immediately came to our table. She immediately blamed the server by saying the server was a liar and that she has had issues before with the server about lying but she would remove the item off my bill.
When our server returned to our table I told her what the manager had said about her and it about put her in tears. This server was an amazing server with a great personality. And this was no fault of hers. I have been to this Denny's quite a few times and have heard the way this manager talks to her employees and it discusses me. She has no place in this company. If I was the server who waited on us I would be suing this manager for defamation of character. I left the server my phone number and told her if she decides to take legal action and needs a witness to call me. I will never eat here again.

After church Sunday Feb 21, 2016, 6 of us went to Denny's to have lunch. We arrived at one o'clock got our food at two thirty (230). A ninety year old was with us ordered nachos and cheese and we were done eating and she still did not get hers. They finally boxed it up and brought it to table to take home. We ask for manager who was not helpful and disturbed with us for complaining. We did not want our meal free. We just wanted to know why it took so long for our food. Even the waitress was upset about the wait. They were not that busy to explain why this happened. You will have to make adjustments before our church group goes again. Food was good but terrible long wait. Thank you. Manager said they were short 2 people in kitchen. They should have made a schedule change.

She jumps again and said loudly "I'm the manager here." I said "I'm not talking to you, I'm talking to him." And she said "if you don't listen to me I will refuse you service." It was so humiliating and obviously I had to get up and tell her what I thought of her while we were walking out without being served since we can't enjoy dinner on valentine's day after being threatened. We walked out! So upset, and so disappointed.

I told her about my current situation and ask to see the new manager Manuel **. He apologized and said that it was the head boss Angetio or Angel **. He told me to eat from the senior citizen menu. That is the same thing except that it came with toast and it was $3 more.
I told him I don't eat toast and that I was not going to order extra food to throw it away. In front of my company he asked if I had a problem economically. I said, "No." Is the principle. Why should I order from a senior menu when I'm not a senior but can't order from the kids menu when I'm not a kid. He was rude and disrespectful. I told him that, "I nor anyone I know will visit Denny's again." I also told him, "You prefer to lose money for your company than to make money." A very dissatisfied x customer. In Ponce P.R.

I have lived in Salt Lake City since 1966 and have eaten at Denny's Restaurants both in Salt Lake and elsewhere hundreds of times. I have often sent employees for takeout orders at your restaurants when we were working on various projects. Over time, I have spent thousands of dollars at your restaurants. I may not be your best customer but I am one of them.
Earlier this evening, a friend of mine and I visited your restaurant at 250 W. 500 S. in Salt Lake City, Utah. When we arrived there were no children visible in the restaurant. We were seated at the extreme west end of the restaurant. We had gotten our drinks but our orders had not been taken when a family arrived with what I will be politically incorrect and call a screaming brat. When our male waiter returned, I asked that we be moved to a different location and we were moved to the extreme eastern end of the restaurant after being told that what appears to be a private room for parties and such was not available.
As we were being seated at the eastern end of the restaurant, a female waitress appeared and asked what was wrong. I told her that I did not want to sit next to a screaming brat. She immediately told me I was rude and that she would not serve me. She further stated that the child in question had some sort of handicap. Whether the child had a handicap or not I have no way of knowing. And, of course, it is totally irrelevant. I paid the male waiter three dollars for a Diet Coke that had been served and we left. We ended up eating at a Mexican restaurant directly across the street.
I have no objection to children. But they need to be well behaved if they are out in public. I attend concerts at our local Symphony Hall and I can assure you that such behavior would not be tolerated there. I attend plays at the Hale Theater and children under six are not welcome at that venue nor would children over six be allowed to remain if they were to cause a disturbance.
I am well aware that Denny's is a family restaurant. The fact that families are welcome does not mean that you should disregard the right of other patrons to have a peaceful meal. This incident is not the first time I have had to put up with unruly children at one of your restaurants. Two or three months ago I was eating with a friend at your 2100 S. and 900 W. restaurant in Salt Lake City and as I was being seated I specifically asked the waitress not to sit any unruly children near us. Within five minutes, a family came in with a screaming baby. That family was seated less than five or 6 feet from where I was sitting. My friend and I moved. However, on that occasion I was not told I was being rude when I asked to move nor was I advised that I would not be served.
As a result of that earlier incident, I have actually been patronizing Denny's less frequently and visiting restaurants such as sports bars and breweries where unruly children are less likely to be encountered. Over time, I have never witnessed any Denny's employee attempting to intervene to quiet unruly children or to ask parents to take any action to quiet them. It seems that anything goes.
Bottom line, I will never again set foot in a Denny's restaurant. Depending on the response to this email, I may elect to order takeout from time to time but even that is likely to occur less frequently than before. I am extremely offended by being told by your waitress that I am rude for expecting to have a reasonably peaceful meal in a public restaurant. I didn't catch her name as I should have tonight but it should be relatively easy to figure out who it was. As far as I can tell there were only two folks on duty serving at that time. We were there around 7:30 PM on Monday, November 30, 2015. You have a waitress with very poor customer service skills. She may think I am a mean, old crank with gray hair. To borrow a line from the great movie, Gone With The Wind, "Frankly, my dear, I don't give a damn." But Denny's should.

The waitress with dyed blonde hair told these men she had been in the emergency room earlier that day due to "Ovary Problems and pain" and she went on to complain to these two men. This isn't something you want to hear when you're about to have dinner. The coffee I ordered tasted old and I asked if she'd make fresh. She appeared annoyed. Then the manager picked his nose then went to the "food prep" area and the cook preparing the food was also picking his nose. Neither washed their hands. This is not a review of service, this is an inquiry of what kind of sausage/bacon Denny's uses. Recently I ordered sausage and eggs and my sausage looked kinda weird and had no taste. It wasn't bad or good, just tasteless. I told my friend about it and she said the same thing about the bacon. Now, bacon always has a flavor, I don't care how low/high grade it is. Is Denny's using soy products? The rest of the food was good, as always. But the no-taste bacon and sausage is baffling.

Mount Vernon, KY Denny's - My family and I visited this restaurant on 5/24, going out of our way to do so. We paid with our debit card and left the tip in cash, marking through the tip portion of the receipt. A few days later, I discover that the charge was for $10 more than we had spent. After reporting it to the manager, she called me back and told me that the waitress wrote in the tip. I reported it to all the appropriate places and, 2 months later, I sit here with no sort of refund or any attempt from the franchise owner to make it right, despite his saying he would. The waitress that stole from me is still employed at the restaurant, so if you go there to eat, beware.

My friend Politely asked one of the waitresses if she could find out how much longer the wait would be, and the response was 20 more minutes, so we decided to leave. We waited at the register to pay for our drinks for 10 minutes so I walked back near the kitchen to get someone's attention since no one was on the floor at the time. We have been to this Denny's before and enjoyed the service in the past. This time seemed normal. The food was good. The server was exceptionally nice. It seemed to be going well. We went to pay, and our card inexplicably declined. We tried another, it also declined. We tried a third, which also declined. We were certain there was money on all three cards and were confused as to what was going on. We spent a good half an hour in the restaurant, calling the bank, trying to figure out what was going on. We couldn't get through on the phone to the bank and asked what we could do. The manager said he'd keep my husband's ID until we came back with valid payment. We went home and checked the bank website - all 3 cards had enough money to have paid the bill. I grabbed my smart phone (had left it home earlier) so that we could show the proof that there had to be a glitch with their system & we had a valid payment.
We went back and told the manager that there had to be something wrong with their system, and here's the proof. He refused to look at the information I had on my phone and refused to take the card my husband was holding out to him. Only stated he was feeling threatened and that he was going to call the cops if we didn't give him payment for the meal. My husband did have his voice raised, but he did not swear at or in any way at all threaten the guy. He was asking for him to look at the proof we had money on the card, and to please find out what was wrong with their system so we could pay.
Finally, after a minute or two, he took the card and ran it again, then shook his head and said he was calling the cops. We told him please do because we were giving him valid payment and he was refusing to take it. He went to the back for a moment, then emerged with a receipt and a muttered "sorry... must be a different card." (It wasn't.) Also, it was a non-reloadable gift card we used, so money does not "magically" appear or get deposited on it. Also, there were a lot of people there, none of whom seemed threatened, deterred, or otherwise upset by our presence. Therefore, I genuinely feel that we were being reasonable, and did not deserve to be threatened with the cops. There has to be something wrong with either the way the transaction was being run, or there had to be something wrong with the merchant system.

"Angry" is an understatement! In fact CA you owe me stars as I rate this place minus 5!! Make it out to: "Never again Denny's!" We walked in at around 11pm 5/23/2015 and there were maybe 10 tables with seated parties in the left side of the restaurant. I asked for a booth - closer to the restrooms - after the host showed us to a table in the middle of several seated parties. She said that the area I preferred, wasn't available as they wanted to keep the tables confined to one area. Cool, no problem, as long as it's a booth. The booth she showed us was right by the door. At this point I'm hungry and pissed that my intestines crave a grand slam from this over-priced establishment but nevertheless I obliged.
When our server showed up, he looked like he was going on his 73rd hour on shift and was so spaced (or just being rude) to actually acknowledge us. I figure you can't be "On" all the time - but for ** sake, welcome us to Denny's! He seemed to have an attitude when my fiance asked what kind of drinks they had, but, to be fair, I also hate when he does this but I'm not being paid for this - he is. Anyway, after reiterating my fiance's drink order, for what must have been like the 30th time - he meandered off to get our drinks. While he did this I went to the restroom to wash my hands and on my way back you'll never guess what I saw: The 2 diners who came in after us were seated in the booth - in the area - that I wanted to sit in.
At this point I'm incensed but my stomach wins and I sit down. Our server comes back with our sodas - no straws. I question the location of the straws and he says "Oh, you wanted a straw?" *Pauses for effect.* I don't know about you but EVERY restaurant I've been to gives you a straw with your soda. As he left to retrieve it, and then walked past us - no straw in hand - we beat it! I'd had enough! Denny's has a bad reputation for its service and I can't help but feel this was one of those instances. I don't want to assume it was because of racism but we were the only people of colour in the restaurant and I can't overlook that - I left there feeling violated. Never again.

I can definitely tell that the management changed and pretty much all waiters/waitresses changed as well. The quality of the food is good, but server, this time was female, was not good at all. First she didn't bring one of the food right, then went and fixed it. I drink coffee in the morning with my breakfast and I love it. There is no breakfast I don't drink hot coffee or hot tea. I had only one cup of coffee, no cream. She asked if I want cream, I said yes - still no cream. After I finish my breakfast, she asked me when she was collecting empty plates if I want more coffee, I said yes. Still no coffee, but she was very quick to bring the check.
To be honest with you, the restaurant wasn't excessively busy. It was crowded, but no waiting line and way more than enough waters/waitresses. I saw some other tables got better services. I went to register to pay, guess what, she cannot print the receipt. The machine is broken. This is the second time I am getting very poor service from a different server and that's it. I won't go there again for a long time. I close the Denny's page for now until I hear something good about this particular one. Parking was very convenient in the lot. As we entered the door there was an awful scent in the foyer before the cashier. The floor mat smells as though it was a wet dog which never had a bath. After we were seated, we placed our order and went to the wash room to wash our hands. There was absolutely no paper in the washroom and I informed the manager. He said, "thank you." We ordered three different meals, after the food was served, my son requested ranch dressing to eat his food.
The waiter brought a bowl of very thin watery liquid and said that is the ranch. It smells like cat poop in liquid milk. It was terrible. I told the waiter about it and he said he is very sorry, so he went and brought the manager whose name is ** and he said the cook made the wrong recipe, then the manager went home. The waiter then brings a small ceramic bowl containing 4 sticks of dried carrots (about 2 inches long and has the thickness of a chopstick), 4 slices of cucumber (this cucumber was in very bad shape, it seems as though it was cut up and mangled around for some time, it was really beat up), and 3 sticks of celery which was in a worst state than the cucumber (very dried, it was beyond edible). I asked the waiter, why is the vegetable in this state and he said he do not know and I need to speak to the other manager whose name is **.
She told me, that is all that she has and she don't know what else to say. I said to her, "Do you acknowledge the "bad" state of the food you are serving customers and she said yes, but she is sorry. Just like the manager at the Columbia ave restaurant in lancaster they are scared, or maybe they just don't care! Either way I have sworn off Denny’s all together!! Everything went wrong the day I mistakenly dined in with Denny’s from the drink order being taken but "forgotten about" to a banana my SICK waitress broke apart with her bare hands and tried to feed to my mother in law. I called the number on the receipt more than a dozen times! Never answered! I wrote them an email, no answer!! I called their 1800 customer service number and spoke to someone who assured me I would receive feedback within 72 hours, five days later I am here! With no response at all.
I was almost in tears because of how bad that day was and the Denny’s corporation does not care. I will be warning anyone and everyone about this ridiculous run around they do!

Once upon a time you would get with your receipt a Free Value Breakfast with a beverage purchase. Now you have to have an entree with beverage for 6 Pancake Puppies (no substitutions please) and they are maybe $2 value IF they get a sauce of some sort on them. The best deal is the $2 Quesadilla with Pico de Gallo and Sour Cream and you can also get salsa if you ask, no charge. I do like the fact the AARP card is good all day at 15% off. But I rarely go to diners unless I have a BOGO dinner and the 2nd is 99 cents, up to $9 off. I'd rather spend a little money on a chance to win the lottery than help Denny's out.

I have always enjoyed dining at Denny's. My experience frequenting their restaurant chain spans over 27 years and it's one of my favorite breakfast places. I recently visited your location at: 1610 Richmond Street, Mount Vernon, KY and was disappointed to see how filthy your carpet was along with windows / sills and the bathroom hadn't been attended to in quite some time. There was no paper towels and/or soap in the dispensers which concerned me! Any of your staff using the facility during my visit wouldn't have sufficient supplies to conduct thorough hand hygiene. My table was sticky in areas and my menu felt greasy in spots. Overall, I felt the sanitation on a scale of 1-10 was at a 2.. very substandard!
The wait staff was pleasant and attentive! My food was good and delivered in a timely fashion. I recognize it was very busy with serving a Saturday morning breakfast crowd. I can even understand viewing a few tables and booths not being cleared off right away. However, bathrooms really should be checked hourly and this location could really use an internal face lift (much needed renovation!) beginning with newly installed carpeting.

I have been to Denny's on Broadway and totally shocked on how you are OK with the way the employees treat a paying customer that works hard for their money and out of all restaurants, I choose to go here and spend my money but I wasted my money!!! Only 6-8 customers but yet the workers have time to stand there on their phone, get into arguments with other workers, and plainly show lack of respect for customers! Yet they can walk up and grab their tip off the tables, but they just leave all the dirty dishes on the table. Clearly that just show how much of slobs they are, and people have a lot of complaints on here and what's even more sad is the management is OK with it. I just have a very hard time understanding their work ethics. The ghetto talk, cussing, and lack of respect for others is very appalling.
I myself work in the public and every human being gets total respect from me and very good service. My co-workers and I appreciate people choosing us to come in and spend their money to eat there and we know they can go anywhere, but they choose us and it's because they not only get taken care of but they receive good service and that there shows a lot; people from corporate truly need to go in and retrain management and servers...wish you lots of luck, it looks like it needs it bad. I will not recommend anyone I know to go to the one you went to, too embarrassed to. Oh and one more thing, does your company allow management and general managers to disrespect there customers??? Because they do, when I go to complain and I'm shunned like I'm nobody - that's a problem. Hope your company can take care of this.

I took my family into Denny's in Clifton, Co for what I thought would be a relaxing meal. Much to my surprise, the restaurant was packed and there was a lady (appeared to be management) running around screaming at the waitstaff, baby talking the cooks, and kicking doors open screaming, "Maintenance!" She was running around screaming profanities to the staff and about the staff in front of customers.
In my opinion, she is not suitable for that job. She creates a hostile environment, it was very uncomfortable and I will never take my children into your restaurants again. On my way out, I asked who that lady was and was told she is management and her name is **. If that's the type of people you hire to run your stores, I will NEVER eat at another Denny's again, she appeared to be on drugs. My service was great until this manager got involved bringing out the food wrong and yelling at the server saying it was her fault. The server did nothing wrong, I was surprised she didn't walk out. I observed this ** getting in another server's face shredding a food ticket, saying it was her fault, it was wrong and she was going to make the server pay for it.

My husband and I dined at the Denny's located at 2204 Columbia Avenue, Lancaster on 3/07/2015 at 1:15 pm. It took awhile to be seated since many of the tables weren't cleared of dirty dishes. Once seated it took over 15 minutes for a waiter to acknowledge us for a beverage. My husband asked for a Coke and the waiter said they were out of Coke. I requested water with lemon and the lemon was omitted.
Our beverages took over 10 minutes to receive. We reminded the waiter about lemon and he said he will bring some; 5 minutes later lemon wedges arrived. We ordered soup around 1:40 pm along with an entree and the waiter said he will have to see if the soup is ready. After a very long wait, soup and entree arrived at the same time and waiter said he did not bring enough crackers and would get more but he never returned to the table. Our beverages were empty for the entire meal and the waiter never checked with us for refills. Bickering started among wait staff and kitchen help, and we were at a place where this could be heard which surely did not enhance our dining experience. Someone decided to bus the table beside ours but never washed the surface with the spray bottle that was hanging from his pocket.
At the end of our meal our waiter stopped by since he was taking an order from a nearby table and we asked for beverage refills and we waited over 5 minutes and decided to leave, and when we approached the cashier we likewise had no check slip since that was not given to us. We told him this was the poorest dining experience ever. He wondered if we wanted to talk to the district manager. I mentioned that I could not believe a district manager could let a restaurant run so poorly and that I would be willing to talk to him. The cashier also informed us that 3 managers walked out yesterday from the restaurant. Well we waited another 5 minutes and still no one came to talk to us and we both left saying never again! It was 2:37 pm when we left and that was for 2 breakfast entrees that were ordered. By the way, my entree said my platter would have red pepper strips and I found 1 sliver on the platter. What a joke!

We ate at Denny's with my family on Feb 26th 2015 at 4:00 p.m. I have had the sampler before and I ordered them again because I wanted to try the Jalapeno bottle caps along with the quesadilla and chicken strips. Unfortunately, the bottle caps were very salty and even if you dip in the sauce, it still is very salty. So I asked the waiter if the taste is really like that because I couldn't eat them, even my husband just won't eat it. But the server who seemed nice in the beginning said he will try if it can be switched with another choice of the sampler but came back after a few minutes saying, "Sorry we can't change it because there's nothing wrong with it."
I was so disappointed by the customer service, I just didn't complain anymore because I didn't want the rest of the food to be sabotaged if I did. So I just said it's fine, I'll just write a review. Well they could've at least charge me for 2 items instead of 3 because I hardly touched the jalapeno caps. I am never going back to that branch in Austin, Coquitlam BC.

Had the worst dining experience ever went to the Denny's in Greenville, MS store #9224 on February 28, 2015. From the time we walked into the restaurant until the time we left I was disappointed with the experience. Had to wait for more than an hour to be seated and was told that we could be seated at a table. We had to take a booth. After being seated the waiter took over 30 mins to come take order. When we got our drink order my glass had some white bits floating in it had to send it back. After waiting for about 45 mins the waiter finally brought our appetizer. It was cold and greasy. We had to ask for serving plates and napkins. We only got 2 plates and 3 napkins for 6 peoples. About 2 minutes later the waiter came back with our order as he served it part of the order was incorrect and it was cold. We ordered pancakes and they were too tough to cut. We didn't get silverware. Had to ask only got 3 needed 6. Had to ask for more and napkins also.
We called the manager to make him aware of the problems. He only made excuses for the poor service saying that they had been busy since the day that they open and he had gotten a $30,000 truck on last Sunday and they needed to order more. He also said that he had 12 cooks in the back and that they cooked every order they get. While he was telling us this his phone rung and he chatted with his wife he finally said "I'll give you a discount on part of your meal." I said "no I don't want a discount or anything I just want you to know about the service." He then went on to make excuses for the poor quality food and service. I've been in the fast food service for more than 20 years. As a manager and as a district supervisor and have been involved in more than 20 restaurant opening and I can look over mistakes in food but never customer service.
What really pissed me off was when I got to the register and gave the cashier my ticket. She pulled up the wrong ticket and swiped my credit card. When she called the manager he went to the customer that the ticket belonged to and talked to them. He finally came back and corrected my ticket. When I asked him to let me see what he had done he stated "I wouldn't take anything from you." I said "with all the mistakes that you made wouldn't you want to see what was going on with your card?" He said "yes." He swiped my card for $104.18. I signed . What made me more angry than any thing else I had to ask him to say Thank You and Come Again. Managers need to understand who pays their salary and know that if you piss off a customer that is the worse thing that you can do. I will never eat at Denny's again and will tell everyone that I can not eat there based on my experience. Disappointed customer, Linda.

Today is my last day at Denny's in Sacramento on Mack road and Stockton Boulevard. When I asked why do they play this '50s music every single day, the waitress told me because a lot of seniors come in here so I literally stood up and looked in the restaurant. It was about a dozen people there at 6:30 in the morning and there wasn't a single senior citizen sitting in the restaurant, and I pointed that out to her and she said she had no control of the music. Imagine that a customer refuses to walk in your restaurant ever again because of the monotony of the music you play. Not only the overplayed and very tired '50s music, it's also way too loud. What is wrong with people in customer service! And I should also mention that as we were walking out, he was slamming the cash drawer!
Needless to say, I will be emailing corporate as soon as I get home! He took my meal off of the bill, however, I am thoroughly disgusted! Our whole check should have been covered and perhaps an offer made for the cost of my sneakers. I am contacting their corporate office as well! I should also mention that last year this happened to me in Olive Garden with spaghetti sauce and the manager paid for our whole bill and gave us $40 in gift cards! That is what customer service people should do when they have wronged a customer! Especially a manager! He should be fired!

I have had the opportunity to visit many Denny's restaurants and it seems that they are all going downhill fast, especially the franchise stores. I am beginning to wonder if the Denny's Corporation even cares. The stores are filled with employees that do not recognize that the CUSTOMER COMES FIRST and without them they would not have a job. This includes the managers. Seriously where are you finding these people? Perhaps I am biased as I was in the food service industry for over nine (9) years and I expect good service. But then I realize that it's the customers that virtually pay my wage.
These employees have the attitude that they are doing me a favor by even taking my order. You can hear bickering between the wait staff and the kitchen, the wait staff are too lazy to remove plates etc from the table or to busy tables. My husband and I were virtually ignored after being seated for over 25 minutes. Finally one of the managers took our order. After waiting for what seemed like forever we received our food from someone else. Never did get a refill on water and soda. This has been consistent throughout.
My question to the Denny's Corporation is this, "DO YOU PEOPLE EVEN CARE ABOUT THE CUSTOMER?" After reading the comment from the lady with the service dog and what she endured I am appalled. You and or your people need to be educated on people with special needs. Had I been her I would have filed a law suit.

Denny's 48TH & Avalon (HWY 40 ) ABQ, NM (INCIDENT REPORT ) I stopped for a sit down lunch at Denny's in Albuquerque, while driving from Texas to California. After several hours of driving I needed to be out of the car, and MY SERVICE DOG, Chewie needed to stretch out so we stopped at Denny's at 98th and Avalon Streets in Albuquerque, NM near HWY 40 to eat and relax. After settling in at my table, I was Talking on the phone with my mother in law, and the manager approached my table, interrupting my call and needlessly spoke to me. I found it very unprofessional.
While placing my order I asked my very rude waitress for water for my dog. She said "I will try to find a bowl" - but never came back with a bowl, or water. Several minutes passed and she brought my food, and left without speaking a word. By this time I had been at my table for maybe 20 minutes. I was drinking a cup of coffee, but I needed sugar. The waitress didn't ask if I needed anything, nor did she give me time to ask for sugar or anything else. I wanted a Coke to drink with my meal because the water I was drinking had a mineral taste that for me made it unpalatable. I had ordered nachos - (which were quite messy to eat) - but had only one napkin. The waitress, without a look or a word, dropped the check on the table as if I was Dismissed!
My dog didn't have water, I needed sugar, and a beverage I could drink, and now I needed napkins, and my Service Dog desperately needed a drink of water. But my waitress hadn't spoken a word to me since saying I'll look for a bowl, half an hour ago. SO, a few minutes later, as I struggled with my one shredding napkin, my now cold and bitter coffee, and my water that I can barely get past my throat I called her over, and gave her a list of my many needs; except dog water.
The nachos were on paper, so I lifted it out and the bowl was clean, and placed that on the paper placemat then poured my water into the nacho bowl and gave Chewie my water. I was eating, relaxing on Facebook, and my Service Dog, after finishing her water, was quietly resting under the table, WHEN..... the manager SAT DOWN across from me at MY table and illegally asked for my Service Dog's ID card, and proceeded to tell me that she knows for a fact that service dogs can't drink water in restaurants. Which is Not a true statement.
I said that my dog had finished drinking ten minutes prior to her approaching me, and hadn't drank since 6 am. (It was around 3 PM at this time.) BUT - She continued to Sit At my table and BADGER me. I asked her if she was asking me to leave. She said No. I said Then leave my table, until I'm finished and I will go. She wouldn't get up, or leave me alone. Even though she stated that she was not asking me to leave - she Offered to box my food, or get me another menu item To Go .
I told her again that she was Harassing me. She still wouldn't leave. I wasn't even done eating... there was obviously much more than half my food left on the plate! I told her if she didn't leave me alone I wouldn't pay for my food. She She said That's fine. And She continued to sit at my table and Harass me. I dropped my check on the table as I stood, and said Here you're paying for this! And I stormed out!
My heart was racing and pounding through my shirt. I was literally shaking. This incident threw me into a complete and full panic attack. After driving about ten miles I saw two Highway Patrol trucks on the median of the freeway, and all I knew was to stop. It was a smart thing for me to do. It gave me time to calm down while waiting for the paramedics to arrive. When they did arrive, they checked my vital signs and my heart rate and blood pressure were markedly higher than normal, and they would not let me leave until both had gone down. This entire episode was wrong, avoidable, and illegal.

The meal was terrible. Just turned 55 and I ordered the seniors steak with two sides. The breaded steak was what you might expect from a 7-11 heat rack. Kind of gross actually, dry and bland and totally lacking any flavor other than a hint of spice from the breading. The fries were grossly overcooked and dried out and tasted nothing like a potato fry but rather toxic. I had to force myself to eat them and I was concerned about breaking a filling or a tooth the whole time. The white gravy was a disappointment as I was expecting brown or beef gravy since I was ordering steak. The mac and cheese side was pasty and tasteless and the portion was a joke, perhaps a blessing in disguise as I regret eating what I did of it. The ice water was the only thing that I could qualify as industry standard.
Overall the horrible meal was only complimented by two groups of drunken idiots on either ends of the restaurant who were intolerably obnoxious, belligerent and loudly disturbing the whole restaurant and caused me to re-seat myself to no relief. More or less beyond the control of the staff who were indifferent to the disruptions and shrugged it off as routine, but did however apologize for the terrible meal. I'm inclined to believe it's all a pretty well-rehearsed response judging by the all countless bad reviews I'm now seeing online and how casually the server shrugged it off.
In the last year or so I also had two other meals at Denny's which left me in awe as to how anyone could actually survive in the food industry serving this heat rack quality. I guess it's possible when your only competition at 4 a.m. is 7-11. Another disturbing concern was, I remarked on the front of the menu; it read "Denny's - Canada's Diner." I'd hate to think this is what Canada is offering and condoning as a standard for the food industry. What a disappointing perception for a tourist to take back from a vacation here. I'd stick to breakfast food Denny's as it's pretty hard to screw up eggs, bacon and toast.
Let me be clear. The drunken patrons had in no way any negative influence on my evaluation of my meal. I can totally accept that anyone serving food at these hours are open to this type of clientele and in fact I can understand how they might be a necessary contributor to an establishment's volume in order to stay open at these hours. That experience I'm already getting over but unfortunately my meal has left me feeling very upset, nauseated and in significant discomfort. I almost wish I could vomit and, no, alcohol would not have anything to do with it as I do not drink.
What a disappointment...Denny's, but really not a surprise, given my previous experiences with Denny's. I'm left with no option other than to: not ever recommend Denny's to anyone and to avoid the food experience at all costs. Once again this is based only on food quality or lack of it and nothing to do with the service or atmosphere within the restaurant. My experiences and observations have always shown Denny's to be very clean and staff to be unremarkable. This is my first review of any kind and after considerable thought and consideration I cannot and would not make any changes to the above. Sorry Denny's. I doubt I'll ever be back.

She was snobby about it and splattered it in the dirty dish trough, so I returned to the table with my wife, and we waited for our waters while I looked at the menus.
Our waters still hasn't arrived so my wife asked a server passing by if we could get our waters please. Quote "it's been 15 mins" it wasn't 15 mins, but it had been too long, lol. While my wife was talking to management requesting a new server I interrupted and told her we were leaving. My wife walked back to the table to get her purse and coat and it was at this point the waitress called me an A Hole and told me she didn't want my two dollar tip anyway. My wife frequently took our children to this particular Denny's, however never again.

We had dinner at Denny's in killeen, texas tonight and had watery undercooked eggs that were sent back twice and still came back watery and bad... The waitress even said they were gross and she could cook better. Also the sausage was old... very old. I had tilapia and it was very fishy... very overcooked and tough and tartar sauce was almost yellow and slimy, it was bad also. They offered no discount or even apology but asked us to give them another chance on our next visit. I nicely replied "we won't be back here." 27 dollars for old, rotten, undercooked and bad food is too much... we won't ever go back.

We ordered the turkey club sandwich with regular fries the waitress brought us our beverage and we waited and waited for 45 minutes for 3 sandwiches. The waitress came to our table and apologize saying she was sorry her and the chef had words so he made 2 other orders from people who came in after us. The manager told us she would take care of us and gave a 20 percent break on our bill. The sandwich was nasty and I will never go there again. Thank you but someone needs to do something about this. I had a lot of people say they won't go there again.

The food got cold fast because of how cold it was in there. I had to go and retrieve my side of bourbon sauce that did not come with my burger like I asked. I also had to go and retrieve extra napkins. It takes about 45 minutes to an hour to even get my food every time I go in there. I was even told that your corporate office doesn't care which I'm not surprised. Corporations only care about profit. Seems to be the American standard. Last night, me and a few friends went to the Denny's on Grand and Reems in Surprise, Arizona. The service was great and my server was prompt and very friendly. Other than that, the management is very poor. I walked in and one of the managers was upfront and looked right at me with a blank expression. Didn't acknowledge that I was even there and just walked into the back. Soon after, a hostess came to my attention and helped us out. Every time I see the manager she would look at me in a "mean", blank way and wouldn't say anything to me. As we paid, the same manager cashed us out and didn't ask us how our meal was or if there was anything that could've been fixed. All she asked was if we wanted to leave a tip on the card. Then told us to have a good night.
I did not feel welcomed at all by the way she was looking at me and practically ignored our existence. Another way that I was dissatisfied was the way that manager acted very unprofessional. She wore her pink robe around in the store, I understand that it is getting into cold weather, but a jacket or sweater would be more professional. Also, her husband had paid her a visit to her while I was there. Before he left, they kissed, and I don't mind of the public display of affection, but while you are working, it is one of the most important things to be professional and not be "trashy".

Around 6:45 PM, the customer was trying shake my hand and say, "Hello, happy Thanksgiving" as the manager grab his hand down and grabs a ketchup bottle and tell him as she waving the bottle at me to hit me with it for the fact I was late to my shift. I asked her, "why you so angry? You had enough employee on the schedule and if you want, you can write me up for being late, but there is no reason to act like that in front of customers and employee."
As I start walk to the back room, she walking behind me yelling, "Who you think you are?!?" in front of the cooks, the dishwasher, other employee, so I tried to call the general manager to ask him what is the best solution to this problem. I couldn't get hold of him because she was on the line with him . She walks to the front of the restaurant where I was trying to leave, she comes up, slams the phone on the counter next to the register saying, "It's for you." It was the general manager on the other line. He asked about what happen. After I told him if it would be best for me to leave for the night, he told me no need to, she is about to get off work and the other manager is about to come take her place.
I get off the phone with him. Minutes later, I see the manager, ask me to step outside of the restaurant thinking that she was trying to solve the problem but I was wrong. She had her older son outside trying to fight me. I walk back inside and all of my co-workers asking to walk in the back room so this man can't come after you as his mom (the manager) easy him outside the restaurant. Minutes later, she comes back, grab her stuff, and leave the restaurant without manager on duty. And the night go on without any more problems.
The next day, I come in to work little early so I can speak to the general manager about what happen. He comes to inform me that I am suspended from work for a week but the manager that did all this is okay to continue to work after all this. I have written letters from at least 4 to 5 employees about what happen. So please, if anyone can help me how I should go about this, please please help me. She came back and took our food order we waited 40 min for our food. It was cold. My biscuits were cold and hard where it was hard to cut. My daughter ordered eggs and hash browns were cold, the eggs were not cooked. My wife got egg whites with grits. The grits were cold, fell out of small bowl that they came in. They were very hard to chew, undercooked. I asked to speak to a manager. She came to the table. When I asked her why it had taken so long to have the order done, she said they were busy but as I was explaining to her there were people there after us and already had their food, ate and already left. She said she would give us dessert. I said no I was not interested in having dessert, asked her to take the extra biscuit off the bill. She said no but would take my daughter's order off the bill because she had hardly touched the food.
The manager then went to get the new bill and bring it back. As she did, she said I was causing a scene. When I confronted the issue of the food and bill she asked me to leave the restaurant. I told her I would be more than happy to leave once I paid the bill. She said if I did not leave she would call the cops. I told her I would leave then and not worry about the bill. We arrived at the Denny's north of Judson in San Antonio, TX at a little after 9:00 a.m. They were starting to get busy, but there were empty tables. We were seated next to the cash register. Our waitress took our food order. My husband was recently diagnosed with type 2 diabetes and his medication has not yet been firmly determined. We have to be careful that his blood sugar does not drop, throwing him into a hypoglycemic episode.
As we waited, and waited and waited for our breakfast to be brought out, the empty tables filled up. These customers all placed their orders with the same waitress. These other customers all got their food while we sat there and waited...and waited...and waited. My husband's blood sugar began to drop and it became necessary for him to pull out some nuts he had in his pocket for just such occasions. We waited...and waited. Finally, the waitress came by and said, "Oh, your order will be out any minute now."
I used to wait tables in my youth. It was painfully obvious to me that she had FORGOTTEN to turn in our food order to the kitchen! We continued to sit there and wait. I got so agitated I told my husband I wanted to LEAVE. It was as we were getting our coats on that she brought out our food. Then she tried to say it was because they were busy!
She has no business waiting tables and Denny's should get rid of her as a server. If they condone this sort of performance, then Denny's deserves to lose business! I would have complained at that time, but guess who was working the register when we went to pay! And she saw me grab the evaluation form on the counter so guess what...she didn't give my husband a copy of the ticket! It will be a long time before we go back to this Denny's...if EVER!

And this is not the first time I was told they were out of boxes by this particular restaurant. This location has no respect for brand standards. They hire cooks from other stores who are not capable of cooking the shifts they sign up for but are happy to receive the 100 dollar bonus they were offered. This particular cook had 1 and a half hour wait times. The manager on duty gave away a lot of free food during this shift before closing the kitchen. I also have first hand knowledge that this location has a general manager who instructed his employees to put new day dots on items that have gone bad, like salmon, pies and cheese. Other food holding times on other items such as hash browns and pancake batter have no use for holding times cause they'll make browns days and days in advance and continue to use them.
I also have first hand knowledge that this location needs multiple repairs to its building. As a manager I was instructed to fill out temp charts in accordance to specified temp ranges. Fryers went weeks without cleaning. The roof above the grills in the kitchen leak (something corporate has know about and has laughed at when told by their cook whose been there 30 plus yrs). All cold storage areas are well beyond state limits, some temps for eggs reaching 60 plus degrees. The lights in the parking lot are not functional and owners refuse to spend money on replacing them even though they know female customers are afraid to come in late night. The ceilings in between kitchen and dishroom have had tiles fall on employees due to heavy amounts of water. Lights by walk-in cooler and in men's bathrooms are hanging on by, not even threads. This location is unfit for serving the general public. They should be closed down.

I thought it was strange, unorganized and unusual the way we were served with the time lapse between each order. However, it wasn't until my niece, the only child at the table 7 yrs old was not served at all. All of us adults made a joke about it at first to the child assuming she would be served shortly. Fifteen minutes went by, until I alerted a different waitress that it would be nice if the child would be served her meal. That waitress stated very nasty in attitude to our family she would look into it.
Immediately the waitress who had taken our order and served the adults came to the table with what appeared to be very defensive attitude, stated she had forgotten to put in the order for the child and was getting it in at that time. I ask her why would you serve adults before a child anyway? She again became very defensive and rude. Here is my question. Was waitress's attitude and lack of service because she is an idiot or because my niece is obviously Mexican and the adults are not. Hummmmm. Makes one wonder. I recently lost my job for Denny's & to be fair, I did violate company policy. The reason for my complaint with the Denny's is in all my 17 years working for them, I have never complained about being harassed or felt intimidated by a boss or even a co-worker until the past year. I and my coworkers have been screamed at with customers present, told we can't do our jobs if she had to get up and simply answer a phone. She constantly talked about employees and watched me for a year on film working to try and catch me or one of my co-workers doing something wrong.
She would then go to my boss's boss when even one rule was violated. I enjoyed my employment with Denny's and have good references from both corporate and franchise. This type of abuse is next to impossible to prove and although many of my coworkers complained, nothing was ever done. "We were the ones with the problem". This caused me so much stress I could not properly do a job in which I've done well since 1991. This is my last ditch effort to solve a situation that's ultimately going to lead to another lawsuit against Denny's.
