I requested DICED jalapenos added to my nachos. The dish was served with sliced jalapenos. I asked to have them diced again. The entire serving was placed on cutting board and all contents were diced including the chips. Does anyone other than me find this unbelievable?

My experience at Denny's was terrible, and on my birthday too. It took ages to get our food. And my eggs were flavorless, my hash browns were soggy, my bacon had no taste and was so hard my teeth are aching, finally, my cinnamon pancakes didn't have enough cinnamon on it so it was dry. The only thing that was good was my strawberry lemonade... And even that left a disgusting taste in my mouth. I definitely do NOT recommend Denny's.

The whole time I was there the waitress was very inattentive to me. Payed more attention to the elderly couple behind me. Aloof is how I would describe her. The first time she brought the check I still wanted more pancakes, never bothered to check up on me. Ordered the All You Can Eat Pancakes. I swear she forgot about me because she never came back to bring it again. After waiting for a very long time I decided to go the front register and just pay it. I even called them after I got home to let them know how ** her service was. I'm never going to this Denny's again. Located in Citrus Heights off Greenback and Sunrise.

We went to go eat at Denny's restaurant, around 12mn, Sunday, a group of 14. My sister ordered a grilled chicken on her menu. With the decent wait, our food finally arrived. She immediately noticed, it wasn't GRILLED, but greasy looking chicken. She then called the server, and then informed her upon asking the cook, they ran out of grilled chicken, so they decided on their own accord to give her FRIED as it's only the one available. They didn't even have the courtesy of asking her, or informing her? Of Any other choices perhaps of her choice? So bad service! I don't think I will come visit this place or any of my family. I for sure will tell my friends, to take heed of what they serve.

Me and my husband went on a romantic getaway. We went to Denny's, there were 3 people in front of us. When we got to the front of the line, my husband ask "how are you doing", the cashier/greeter say nothing but holds her hands up and yells "can someone come and release me", so she walks away. The second cashier/greeter comes up, we are still in the front of the line. She looks at us then yells "who's next", I look at her and say "hello we are next". My husband ask her do they serve tuna melt, she said no and yells out again who's next. We were so upset we just left, but to do that in front of all them people made us both humiliated, and yes we were the only black in there at that time. We entered the restaurant about right 4:30pm. The parking lot was pretty empty, got seated right away but the server did not take the order for at least 15 minutes. The dessert spoon was dirty... Another 40 minutes passed until we got our food (one prime rib salad, one d Steak). The Salad was waiting at least 10 minutes on top of the counter before the steak was ready and we got our food. The prime rib was very cold on top, some slices lukewarm. Salad plate was stained... not sure what with...

We were ready to leave, got a box to from the female owner/manager for the Steak and waited forever for the check. Never got it. We actually got up to pay to the counter where both owners/managers were standing and talking. Ugh. We only have one Denny's Restaurant in Fairbanks. Sorry my husband left the receipt at the Restaurant since we were quite upset. Thank you.

I PREPAID for 1 MONTH of COFFEE and was never told it would void all other Denny's offers? I never would have purchased the "1 Month Denny's Cup of Coffee" if I was told it would void all other Denny's offers!!

I have been using my Denny's Coffee Card for several weeks now and just today 08/12/15 I was told it was void with another Denny's offers??? I was going to Denny's 5 to 6 times a week for complete meals. The keyword is "WAS". Now I will finish with only using my Denny's Cup Coffee Card until my card expires. I will eat my meals somewhere else, where they want to keep customers happy, not cheat them for a cup of coffee! I paid $6.00 for my Denny's Cup Card, that is a lot of money for the quality of coffee Denny's serves! But I like cold coffee even warm is ok, but 1 MONTH PREPAID should be 1 MONTH PREPAID with NO IFs!!! I guess it is my fault for not asking if there are conditions with purchasing 1 month card of coffee! Denny's will NOT FOOL ME AGAIN!!!!!

Roanoke, VA - Orange Ave: Since my cancer operation and radiation (tongue and teeth), Denny's is one of my favorite places for easy-to-eat items. So when I spotted the Roanoke Denny's, I was excited!! Too bad my usual expectations were dashed. Our first oddity was the manager came to our table to see if we were 'alright' even before our order was taken. I ordered scrambled eggs with cheese, "with just a few onions". My voice is not too strong, so I even stood up to address the waiter, further explaining I couldn't chew very well, so just a few onions. Don't let my comments reflect on all Denny's, because I've ordered the exact meal twice in TX and once in AZ with all 3 getting it right the first time. This waiter returned with a 2-egg omelet with onions oozing out!! His response amazed me!! (Mgr kept my receipt.)

This is not a review of service, this is an inquiry of what kind of sausage/bacon Denny's uses. Recently I ordered sausage and eggs and my sausage looked kinda weird and had no taste. It wasn't bad or good, just tasteless. I told my friend about it and she said the same thing about the bacon. Now, bacon always has a flavor, I don't care how low/high grade it is. Is Denny's using soy products? The rest of the food was good, as always. But the no-taste bacon and sausage is baffling.

I reported it to all the appropriate places and, 2 months later, I sit here with no sort of refund or any attempt from the franchise owner to make it right, despite his saying he would. We have been to this Denny's before and enjoyed the service in the past. This time seemed normal. The food was good. The server was exceptionally nice. It seemed to be going well. We went to pay, and our card inexplicably declined. We tried another, it also declined. We tried a third, which also declined. We were certain there was money on all three cards and were confused as to what was going on. We spent a good half an hour in the restaurant, calling the bank, trying to figure out what was going on. We couldn't get through on the phone to the bank and asked what we could do. The manager said he'd keep my husband's ID until we came back with valid payment. We went home and checked the bank website - all 3 cards had enough money to have paid the bill. I grabbed my smart phone (had left it home earlier) so that we could show the proof that there had to be a glitch with their system & we had a valid payment.

We went back and told the manager that there had to be something wrong with their system, and here's the proof. He refused to look at the information I had on my phone and refused to take the card my husband was holding out to him. Only stated he was feeling threatened and that he was going to call the cops if we didn't give him payment for the meal. My husband did have his voice raised, but he did not swear at or in any way at all threaten the guy. He was asking for him to look at the proof we had money on the card, and to please find out what was wrong with their system so we could pay.

Finally, after a minute or two, he took the card and ran it again, then shook his head and said he was calling the cops. We told him please do because we were giving him valid payment and he was refusing to take it. He went to the back for a moment, then emerged with a receipt and a muttered "sorry... must be a different card." (It wasn't.) Also, it was a non-reloadable gift card we used, so money does not "magically" appear or get deposited on it. Also, there were a lot of people there, none of whom seemed threatened, deterred, or otherwise upset by our presence. Therefore, I genuinely feel that we were being reasonable, and did not deserve to be threatened with the cops. There has to be something wrong with either the way the transaction was being run, or there had to be something wrong with the merchant system.

"Angry" is an understatement! In fact CA you owe me stars as I rate this place minus 5!! Make it out to: "Never again Denny's!" We walked in at around 11pm 5/23/2015 and there were maybe 10 tables with seated parties in the left side of the restaurant. I asked for a booth - closer to the restrooms - after the host showed us to a table in the middle of several seated parties. She said that the area I preferred, wasn't available as they wanted to keep the tables confined to one area. Cool, no problem, as long as it's a booth. The booth she showed us was right by the door. At this point I'm hungry and pissed that my intestines crave a grand slam from this over-priced establishment but nevertheless I obliged.

When our server showed up, he looked like he was going on his 73rd hour on shift and was so spaced (or just being rude) to actually acknowledge us. I figure you can't be "On" all the time - but for ** sake, welcome us to Denny's! He seemed to have an attitude when my fiance asked what kind of drinks they had, but, to be fair, I also hate when he does this but I'm not being paid for this - he is. Anyway, after reiterating my fiance's drink order, for what must have been like the 30th time - he meandered off to get our drinks. While he did this I went to the restroom to wash my hands and on my way back you'll never guess what I saw: The 2 diners who came in after us were seated in the booth - in the area - that I wanted to sit in.

At this point I'm incensed but my stomach wins and I sit down. Our server comes back with our sodas - no straws. I question the location of the straws and he says "Oh, you wanted a straw?" *Pauses for effect.* I don't know about you but EVERY restaurant I've been to gives you a straw with your soda. As he left to retrieve it, and then walked past us - no straw in hand - we beat it! I'd had enough! Denny's has a bad reputation for its service and I can't help but feel this was one of those instances. I don't want to assume it was because of racism but we were the only people of colour in the restaurant and I can't overlook that - I left there feeling violated. Never again.

I even reminded her about the soup, I took the food and drove home. By the time I went to go eat I was ready for a nice juicy hamburger but it was missing. I had my extra bacon and even had the soup and seasoned fries. However there was no cheeseburger between the buns. Well, I went to go call and also realized I had no receipt either.

I went to lunch today at the Denny's restaurant in Grants Pass Oregon with a friend today. We had their breakfasts and were very please with the food. My biscuit was cooked perfectly and the gravy was creamy and seasoned just right. Our server was ** and she was outstanding. My friend ordered a la carte… scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage and hash browns. ** immediately suggested the "make it yourself" plate where you can choose 4 items.

Prior to our even ordering ** made some suggestions on what was good. She really knew the menu and when I complimented her she told me that she had tried everything on the menu so she could sell it to her customers. Excellent customer service. The only reason I only gave a 4 star review is because of the "decor". When the hostess went to seat us the first booth seat had a major rip in it and had been covered with tape... the tape was coming off. If Denny's replaced these seats and brought the decor up to today's standard they would have a 5 star restaurant for sure.

This week my wife and I went to Denny's restaurant on Steele Lane in Santa Rosa for lunch. Before my wife sat down in the booth she noticed that the seat was wet. We both remained standing and I advised the bus boy of the problem and he said he would take care of the problem. He disappeared and never returned. After standing for some time I asked one of the three young waitresses who were standing at the cash register four feet away engaged in conversation among themselves if they could help us and one turned to me and said in a sarcastic tone "Just a minute".

She eventually got a paper towel and wiped the seat down and we placed our order with a male waiter. He delivered our coffee and meal and never returned to our table to asked how the 3 meal was or if we wanted anything else such as a refill. He did in fact yell back and forth to three of his friends who were sitting behind us about what they wanted... This was from the bus station about 10-15 feet away. I don't think we asked for anything out of the ordinary and considered this treatment as very disrespectful.

On a second note, I used the restroom on this visit and my expectations of the condition of Denny's restrooms throughout their chain remains the same. "They are PIG PENS. Filthy with overflowing waste baskets and paper all over the floor. Someone should clean these facilities at least once a week. One wonders that if the bathroom facilities are this filthy what does the kitchen look like??

I have eaten at Denny's up and down the East Coast and have always been happy with food and service. Today was a whole new experience. I ordered soft poached eggs, grits and toast. My companion ordered the philly cheesesteak omelette. My eggs came out hard as a rock (microwave perhaps?), ham was shoe leather and grits were good (what can you do to grits?). I didn't touch the eggs after I forked them and saw how hard they were. Ate a couple of bites of ham, no toast, just grits. I don't eat shoe leather either. My companion said nothing about his hard eggs but he didn't like them.

Also the waitress needs additional training. She has no social skills and was slow. Three waitresses, less than 10 people in the restaurant (run your numbers for that time). We said we were in a hurry "was that ok", "yes" she replied. She could care less but she got a nice tip (cash). She tries to work so she gets a tip for bad service - the American way. I showed her my plate and she looked at me as if I were a crazy person. She made no attempt to smooth over the situation I think my last trip to Denny's.

After disbelief on our part, she admitted his spaghetti plate had been given to someone sitting at the counter. Server asked if we wanted to see the manager. Husband had declined reordering since the wait had been so long already.

We heard table 12 needing something. We were table 12 it seems. After I had finished eating, ** came and tried to make us happy. She is probably the best thing Denny's has going in Siloam. Went to Denny's in Champaign, IL on April 4th Saturday, the day before Easter Sunday, with my family, wife, two children, even though the previous experience was also bad. I can definitely tell that the management changed and pretty much all waiters/waitresses changed as well. The quality of the food is good, but server, this time was female, was not good at all. First she didn't bring one of the food right, then went and fixed it. I drink coffee in the morning with my breakfast and I love it. There is no breakfast I don't drink hot coffee or hot tea. I had only one cup of coffee, no cream. She asked if I want cream, I said yes - still no cream. After I finish my breakfast, she asked me when she was collecting empty plates if I want more coffee, I said yes. Still no coffee, but she was very quick to bring the check.

To be honest with you, the restaurant wasn't excessively busy. It was crowded, but no waiting line and way more than enough waters/waitresses. I saw some other tables got better services. I went to register to pay, guess what, she cannot print the receipt. The machine is broken. This is the second time I am getting very poor service from a different server and that's it. I won't go there again for a long time. I close the Denny's page for now until I hear something good about this particular one. So the moral of the story is: if you wanted to be treated disrespectfully with your money, please go to Denny's in Champaign, Illinois. Even it rhymes.

My experience was absolutely disappointing. The waiter was very polite, but the manager could hardly notice us. THIS IS MY EXPERIENCE: This evening around 5 pm, myself, my son and my daughter decided to go to Denny's located at 371 Old Country Road, Carle Place, NY 11514 to have a family dinner. Parking was very convenient in the lot. As we entered the door there was an awful scent in the foyer before the cashier. The floor mat smells as though it was a wet dog which never had a bath. After we were seated, we placed our order and went to the wash room to wash our hands. There was absolutely no paper in the washroom and I informed the manager. He said, "thank you." We ordered three different meals, after the food was served, my son requested ranch dressing to eat his food.

The waiter brought a bowl of very thin watery liquid and said that is the ranch. It smells like cat poop in liquid milk. It was terrible. I told the waiter about it and he said he is very sorry, so he went and brought the manager whose name is ** and he said the cook made the wrong recipe, then the manager went home. The waiter then brings a small ceramic bowl containing 4 sticks of dried carrots (about 2 inches long and has the thickness of a chopstick), 4 slices of cucumber (this cucumber was in very bad shape, it seems as though it was cut up and mangled around for some time, it was really beat up), and 3 sticks of celery which was in a worst state than the cucumber (very dried, it was beyond edible). I asked the waiter, why is the vegetable in this state and he said he do not know and I need to speak to the other manager whose name is **.

She told me, that is all that she has and she don't know what else to say. I said to her, "Do you acknowledge the "bad" state of the food you are serving customers and she said yes, but she is sorry. My order of grill chicken and Quesadilla had so much oil. It gave me diarrhea before I get home. My son and daughter did not eat their food, they asked for take home boxes, and wrapped their food to go. After all of this, I requested my bill and I paid the cashier and we leave the restaurant very disturbed. The exterior of this restaurant seems to be very promising, but today I proved myself wrong. My experience was not good. I will never go again and I will never recommend this restaurant.

Only 6-8 customers but yet the workers have time to stand there on their phone, get into arguments with other workers, and plainly show lack of respect for customers! Yet they can walk up and grab their tip off the tables, but they just leave all the dirty dishes on the table. Clearly that just show how much of slobs they are, and people have a lot of complaints on here and what's even more sad is the management is OK with it. I just have a very hard time understanding their work ethics. The ghetto talk, cussing, and lack of respect for others is very appalling.

I myself work in the public and every human being gets total respect from me and very good service. My co-workers and I appreciate people choosing us to come in and spend their money to eat there and we know they can go anywhere, but they choose us and it's because they not only get taken care of but they receive good service and that there shows a lot; people from corporate truly need to go in and retrain management and servers...wish you lots of luck, it looks like it needs it bad. I will not recommend anyone I know to go to the one you went to, too embarrassed to. Oh and one more thing, does your company allow management and general managers to disrespect there customers??? Once seated it took over 15 minutes for a waiter to acknowledge us for a beverage. My husband asked for a Coke and the waiter said they were out of Coke. I requested water with lemon and the lemon was omitted.

Our beverages took over 10 minutes to receive. We reminded the waiter about lemon and he said he will bring some; 5 minutes later lemon wedges arrived. We ordered soup around 1:40 pm along with an entree and the waiter said he will have to see if the soup is ready. After a very long wait, soup and entree arrived at the same time and waiter said he did not bring enough crackers and would get more but he never returned to the table. Our beverages were empty for the entire meal and the waiter never checked with us for refills. Bickering started among wait staff and kitchen help, and we were at a place where this could be heard which surely did not enhance our dining experience. Someone decided to bus the table beside ours but never washed the surface with the spray bottle that was hanging from his pocket.

At the end of our meal our waiter stopped by since he was taking an order from a nearby table and we asked for beverage refills and we waited over 5 minutes and decided to leave, and when we approached the cashier we likewise had no check slip since that was not given to us. We told him this was the poorest dining experience ever. He wondered if we wanted to talk to the district manager. I mentioned that I could not believe a district manager could let a restaurant run so poorly and that I would be willing to talk to him. The cashier also informed us that 3 managers walked out yesterday from the restaurant. Well we waited another 5 minutes and still no one came to talk to us and we both left saying never again! It was 2:37 pm when we left and that was for 2 breakfast entrees that were ordered. By the way, my entree said my platter would have red pepper strips and I found 1 sliver on the platter. About 2 minutes later the waiter came back with our order as he served it part of the order was incorrect and it was cold. We ordered pancakes and they were too tough to cut. We didn't get silverware. Had to ask only got 3 needed 6. Had to ask for more and napkins also.

We called the manager to make him aware of the problems. He only made excuses for the poor service saying that they had been busy since the day that they open and he had gotten a $30,000 truck on last Sunday and they needed to order more. He also said that he had 12 cooks in the back and that they cooked every order they get. While he was telling us this his phone rung and he chatted with his wife he finally said "I'll give you a discount on part of your meal." I said "no I don't want a discount or anything I just want you to know about the service." He then went on to make excuses for the poor quality food and service. I've been in the fast food service for more than 20 years. As a manager and as a district supervisor and have been involved in more than 20 restaurant opening and I can look over mistakes in food but never customer service.

What really pissed me off was when I got to the register and gave the cashier my ticket. She pulled up the wrong ticket and swiped my credit card. When she called the manager he went to the customer that the ticket belonged to and talked to them. He finally came back and corrected my ticket. When I asked him to let me see what he had done he stated "I wouldn't take anything from you." I said "with all the mistakes that you made wouldn't you want to see what was going on with your card?" He said "yes." He swiped my card for $104.18. I signed . What made me more angry than any thing else I had to ask him to say Thank You and Come Again. Managers need to understand who pays their salary and know that if you piss off a customer that is the worse thing that you can do. I will never eat at Denny's again and will tell everyone that I can not eat there based on my experience. Disappointed customer, Linda.

Well by the time we got home he was so sick, vomiting all afternoon/night long as well as covered in horrid hives. Still has them today 02/19/15. Obviously we will never give Denny's our business in the future, just found same thing happened to my Uncle from eating at Denny's. This is horrible for anyone to experience let alone a little 2-year old. They need to be looked into and if anything OVERCOOK their food!!!!!

I go to Denny's every morning, probably four mornings a week. I eat there between the hours of 6:45 am and 7:30 AM. I am so tired of listening to '50s music...I can't stand it anymore. Today is my last day at Denny's in Sacramento on Mack road and Stockton Boulevard. When I asked why do they play this '50s music every single day, the waitress told me because a lot of seniors come in here so I literally stood up and looked in the restaurant. It was about a dozen people there at 6:30 in the morning and there wasn't a single senior citizen sitting in the restaurant, and I pointed that out to her and she said she had no control of the music. Imagine that a customer refuses to walk in your restaurant ever again because of the monotony of the music you play. Not only the overplayed and very tired '50s music, it's also way too loud. Good God, please...

Ok, so here is the situation! I go to Denny's on Erie Blvd in Syracuse for some eats. The waitress walking by spills a whole container of syrup and it goes all over my pants, my brand new sneakers, and the seat I am sitting in. She apologizes but not heartfelt! Comes back and tells me she took my soda off our bill. I am covered in sticky syrup! My soda, which I didn't even drink cause it tasted like **, came to a whopping 2.39! So I go to check out and ask to speak to the manager. His name was **! He gives me attitude, doesn't apologize, and says "well, what do you want?" Are you kidding me! What is wrong with people in customer service! And I should also mention that as we were walking out, he was slamming the cash drawer!

Needless to say, I will be emailing corporate as soon as I get home! He took my meal off of the bill, however, I am thoroughly disgusted! Our whole check should have been covered and perhaps an offer made for the cost of my sneakers. I am contacting their corporate office as well! I should also mention that last year this happened to me in Olive Garden with spaghetti sauce and the manager paid for our whole bill and gave us $40 in gift cards! That is what customer service people should do when they have wronged a customer! Especially a manager! He should be fired!

I have had the opportunity to visit many Denny's restaurants and it seems that they are all going downhill fast, especially the franchise stores. I am beginning to wonder if the Denny's Corporation even cares. The stores are filled with employees that do not recognize that the CUSTOMER COMES FIRST and without them they would not have a job. This includes the managers. Seriously where are you finding these people? Perhaps I am biased as I was in the food service industry for over nine (9) years and I expect good service. But then I realize that it's the customers that virtually pay my wage.

These employees have the attitude that they are doing me a favor by even taking my order. You can hear bickering between the wait staff and the kitchen, the wait staff are too lazy to remove plates etc from the table or to busy tables. My husband and I were virtually ignored after being seated for over 25 minutes. Finally one of the managers took our order. After waiting for what seemed like forever we received our food from someone else. Never did get a refill on water and soda. This has been consistent throughout.

My question to the Denny's Corporation is this, "DO YOU PEOPLE EVEN CARE ABOUT THE CUSTOMER?" After reading the comment from the lady with the service dog and what she endured I am appalled. You and or your people need to be educated on people with special needs. Had I been her I would have filed a law suit.

Denny's 48TH & Avalon (HWY 40 ) ABQ, NM (INCIDENT REPORT ) I stopped for a sit down lunch at Denny's in Albuquerque, while driving from Texas to California. After several hours of driving I needed to be out of the car, and MY SERVICE DOG, Chewie needed to stretch out so we stopped at Denny's at 98th and Avalon Streets in Albuquerque, NM near HWY 40 to eat and relax. After settling in at my table, I was Talking on the phone with my mother in law, and the manager approached my table, interrupting my call and needlessly spoke to me. I found it very unprofessional.

While placing my order I asked my very rude waitress for water for my dog. She said "I will try to find a bowl" - but never came back with a bowl, or water. Several minutes passed and she brought my food, and left without speaking a word. By this time I had been at my table for maybe 20 minutes. I was drinking a cup of coffee, but I needed sugar. The waitress didn't ask if I needed anything, nor did she give me time to ask for sugar or anything else. I wanted a Coke to drink with my meal because the water I was drinking had a mineral taste that for me made it unpalatable. I had ordered nachos - (which were quite messy to eat) - but had only one napkin. The waitress, without a look or a word, dropped the check on the table as if I was Dismissed!

My dog didn't have water, I needed sugar, and a beverage I could drink, and now I needed napkins, and my Service Dog desperately needed a drink of water. But my waitress hadn't spoken a word to me since saying I'll look for a bowl, half an hour ago. SO, a few minutes later, as I struggled with my one shredding napkin, my now cold and bitter coffee, and my water that I can barely get past my throat I called her over, and gave her a list of my many needs; except dog water.

The nachos were on paper, so I lifted it out and the bowl was clean, and placed that on the paper placemat then poured my water into the nacho bowl and gave Chewie my water. I was eating, relaxing on Facebook, and my Service Dog, after finishing her water, was quietly resting under the table, WHEN..... the manager SAT DOWN across from me at MY table and illegally asked for my Service Dog's ID card, and proceeded to tell me that she knows for a fact that service dogs can't drink water in restaurants. Which is Not a true statement.

I said that my dog had finished drinking ten minutes prior to her approaching me, and hadn't drank since 6 am. (It was around 3 PM at this time.) BUT - She continued to Sit At my table and BADGER me. I asked her if she was asking me to leave. She said No. I said Then leave my table, until I'm finished and I will go. She wouldn't get up, or leave me alone. Even though she stated that she was not asking me to leave - she Offered to box my food, or get me another menu item To Go .

I told her again that she was Harassing me. She still wouldn't leave. I wasn't even done eating... there was obviously much more than half my food left on the plate! I told her if she didn't leave me alone I wouldn't pay for my food. She She said That's fine. And She continued to sit at my table and Harass me. I dropped my check on the table as I stood, and said Here you're paying for this! And I stormed out!

My heart was racing and pounding through my shirt. I was literally shaking. This incident threw me into a complete and full panic attack. After driving about ten miles I saw two Highway Patrol trucks on the median of the freeway, and all I knew was to stop. It was a smart thing for me to do. It gave me time to calm down while waiting for the paramedics to arrive. When they did arrive, they checked my vital signs and my heart rate and blood pressure were markedly higher than normal, and they would not let me leave until both had gone down. This entire episode was wrong, avoidable, and illegal.

When the waiter brought our drinks he spilled my drink all over one of my friend, luckily we had extra clothes in the car. After my friend had gotten cleaned up we change tables since ours was wet. He said he will take half off our drinks. He brought my new drink to me and took our orders and after two sips I saw something in my drink so I told him after 10-15 minutes of waiting for their attention.

It took over 30 minutes to get our food and there were only two people there with us who already had gotten their food. Overall we spent a little over 2 hours in there basically waiting for our food and cleaning up the mess when we got there &+ he did not even take half off the drinks he said he would and still charged me for the drink that had something in it even after I asked for water but thankfully they gave my friend the discount for pouring the drink all over her. We definitely left no tip! Not ever going there again!!!

The meal was terrible. Just turned 55 and I ordered the seniors steak with two sides. The breaded steak was what you might expect from a 7-11 heat rack. Kind of gross actually, dry and bland and totally lacking any flavor other than a hint of spice from the breading. The fries were grossly overcooked and dried out and tasted nothing like a potato fry but rather toxic. I had to force myself to eat them and I was concerned about breaking a filling or a tooth the whole time. The white gravy was a disappointment as I was expecting brown or beef gravy since I was ordering steak. The mac and cheese side was pasty and tasteless and the portion was a joke, perhaps a blessing in disguise as I regret eating what I did of it. The ice water was the only thing that I could qualify as industry standard.

Overall the horrible meal was only complimented by two groups of drunken idiots on either ends of the restaurant who were intolerably obnoxious, belligerent and loudly disturbing the whole restaurant and caused me to re-seat myself to no relief. More or less beyond the control of the staff who were indifferent to the disruptions and shrugged it off as routine, but did however apologize for the terrible meal. I'm inclined to believe it's all a pretty well-rehearsed response judging by the all countless bad reviews I'm now seeing online and how casually the server shrugged it off.

In the last year or so I also had two other meals at Denny's which left me in awe as to how anyone could actually survive in the food industry serving this heat rack quality. I guess it's possible when your only competition at 4 a.m. is 7-11. Another disturbing concern was, I remarked on the front of the menu; it read "Denny's - Canada's Diner." I'd hate to think this is what Canada is offering and condoning as a standard for the food industry. What a disappointing perception for a tourist to take back from a vacation here. I'd stick to breakfast food Denny's as it's pretty hard to screw up eggs, bacon and toast.

Let me be clear. The drunken patrons had in no way any negative influence on my evaluation of my meal. I can totally accept that anyone serving food at these hours are open to this type of clientele and in fact I can understand how they might be a necessary contributor to an establishment's volume in order to stay open at these hours. That experience I'm already getting over but unfortunately my meal has left me feeling very upset, nauseated and in significant discomfort. I almost wish I could vomit and, no, alcohol would not have anything to do with it as I do not drink.

What a disappointment...Denny's, but really not a surprise, given my previous experiences with Denny's. I'm left with no option other than to: not ever recommend Denny's to anyone and to avoid the food experience at all costs. Once again this is based only on food quality or lack of it and nothing to do with the service or atmosphere within the restaurant. My experiences and observations have always shown Denny's to be very clean and staff to be unremarkable. This is my first review of any kind and after considerable thought and consideration I cannot and would not make any changes to the above. Sorry Denny's. I doubt I'll ever be back.

Other than that, the management is very poor. I walked in and one of the managers was upfront and looked right at me with a blank expression. Didn't acknowledge that I was even there and just walked into the back. Soon after, a hostess came to my attention and helped us out. Every time I see the manager she would look at me in a "mean", blank way and wouldn't say anything to me. As we paid, the same manager cashed us out and didn't ask us how our meal was or if there was anything that could've been fixed. All she asked was if we wanted to leave a tip on the card. Then told us to have a good night.

I did not feel welcomed at all by the way she was looking at me and practically ignored our existence. Another way that I was dissatisfied was the way that manager acted very unprofessional. She wore her pink robe around in the store, I understand that it is getting into cold weather, but a jacket or sweater would be more professional. Also, her husband had paid her a visit to her while I was there. Before he left, they kissed, and I don't mind of the public display of affection, but while you are working, it is one of the most important things to be professional and not be "trashy".

They were very hard to chew, undercooked. I asked to speak to a manager. She came to the table. When I asked her why it had taken so long to have the order done, she said they were busy but as I was explaining to her there were people there after us and already had their food, ate and already left. She said she would give us dessert. I said no I was not interested in having dessert, asked her to take the extra biscuit off the bill. She said no but would take my daughter's order off the bill because she had hardly touched the food.

The manager then went to get the new bill and bring it back. As she did, she said I was causing a scene. When I confronted the issue of the food and bill she asked me to leave the restaurant. I told her I would be more than happy to leave once I paid the bill. She said if I did not leave she would call the cops. I told her I would leave then and not worry about the bill. I dealt with this until I was able to pay my bill and leave.

We arrived at the Denny's north of Judson in San Antonio, TX at a little after 9:00 a.m. They were starting to get busy, but there were empty tables. We were seated next to the cash register. Our waitress took our food order. My husband was recently diagnosed with type 2 diabetes and his medication has not yet been firmly determined. We have to be careful that his blood sugar does not drop, throwing him into a hypoglycemic episode.

As we waited, and waited and waited for our breakfast to be brought out, the empty tables filled up. These customers all placed their orders with the same waitress. These other customers all got their food while we sat there and waited...and waited...and waited. My husband's blood sugar began to drop and it became necessary for him to pull out some nuts he had in his pocket for just such occasions. We waited...and waited. Finally, the waitress came by and said, "Oh, your order will be out any minute now."

I used to wait tables in my youth. It was painfully obvious to me that she had FORGOTTEN to turn in our food order to the kitchen! We continued to sit there and wait. I got so agitated I told my husband I wanted to LEAVE. It was as we were getting our coats on that she brought out our food. Then she tried to say it was because they were busy!

She has no business waiting tables and Denny's should get rid of her as a server. If they condone this sort of performance, then Denny's deserves to lose business! I would have complained at that time, but guess who was working the register when we went to pay! And she saw me grab the evaluation form on the counter so guess what...she didn't give my husband a copy of the ticket! It will be a long time before we go back to this Denny's...if EVER!

As soon as I told a waitress that I wanted to order carry-out, I was told they were not taking carry-out orders because they were out of foam carry-out boxes. Who runs out of carry-out boxes when you're a restaurant?? This is their business. How does a restaurant in the business to serve food allow this to happen? And this is not the first time I was told they were out of boxes by this particular restaurant. I can't help wondering as I walked away from the counter if she just didn't want to take my order because there was an assumption that she would not receive a tip for her time? I always tip a waitress whether it is in-dining or carry-out. Since I was not allowed to place an order, I do not have an order number to reference. We finally got our food. It was good but there was a problem with the manager.. she had a bad attitude towards us the whole time. I had my three grandchildren with us so I had my daughter go pay.. she asked for my driver’s license which I took to her and in the mean time they came and cleaned up all our food to go which included the kids’ sundaes that we had ordered to go. This was the rudest Denny’s manager I have ever seen. I frequently go to Denny’s which I chose over Shari’s which was just across the street. Next time I will choose Shari’s.

This location has no respect for brand standards. They hire cooks from other stores who are not capable of cooking the shifts they sign up for but are happy to receive the 100 dollar bonus they were offered. This particular cook had 1 and a half hour wait times. The manager on duty gave away a lot of free food during this shift before closing the kitchen. I also have first hand knowledge that this location has a general manager who instructed his employees to put new day dots on items that have gone bad, like salmon, pies and cheese. Other food holding times on other items such as hash browns and pancake batter have no use for holding times cause they'll make browns days and days in advance and continue to use them.

I also have first hand knowledge that this location needs multiple repairs to its building. As a manager I was instructed to fill out temp charts in accordance to specified temp ranges. Fryers went weeks without cleaning. The roof above the grills in the kitchen leak (something corporate has know about and has laughed at when told by their cook whose been there 30 plus yrs). All cold storage areas are well beyond state limits, some temps for eggs reaching 60 plus degrees. The lights in the parking lot are not functional and owners refuse to spend money on replacing them even though they know female customers are afraid to come in late night. The ceilings in between kitchen and dishroom have had tiles fall on employees due to heavy amounts of water. Lights by walk-in cooler and in men's bathrooms are hanging on by, not even threads. This location is unfit for serving the general public. They should be closed down.

My family visited the Denny's restaurant Nov 1st at 1:00pm in Lebanon, Indiana. The server seemed very nice as we ordered our meals. When our meals arrived we were served individually at least 2 min apart. There were 3 adults and a child of 7 years old in our party. I thought it was strange, unorganized and unusual the way we were served with the time lapse between each order. However, it wasn't until my niece, the only child at the table 7 yrs old was not served at all. All of us adults made a joke about it at first to the child assuming she would be served shortly. Fifteen minutes went by, until I alerted a different waitress that it would be nice if the child would be served her meal. That waitress stated very nasty in attitude to our family she would look into it.

Immediately the waitress who had taken our order and served the adults came to the table with what appeared to be very defensive attitude, stated she had forgotten to put in the order for the child and was getting it in at that time. I ask her why would you serve adults before a child anyway? She again became very defensive and rude. Here is my question. Was waitress's attitude and lack of service because she is an idiot or because my niece is obviously Mexican and the adults are not. Hummmmm. Makes one wonder. The racism my niece and our family were given yesterday at the Denny's Restaurant in Lebanon, Indiana was apparent, appalling and disgusting.

The reason for my complaint with the Denny's is in all my 17 years working for them, I have never complained about being harassed or felt intimidated by a boss or even a co-worker until the past year. I and my coworkers have been screamed at with customers present, told we can't do our jobs if she had to get up and simply answer a phone. She constantly talked about employees and watched me for a year on film working to try and catch me or one of my co-workers doing something wrong.

She would then go to my boss's boss when even one rule was violated. I enjoyed my employment with Denny's and have good references from both corporate and franchise. This type of abuse is next to impossible to prove and although many of my coworkers complained, nothing was ever done. "We were the ones with the problem". This caused me so much stress I could not properly do a job in which I've done well since 1991. This is my last ditch effort to solve a situation that's ultimately going to lead to another lawsuit against Denny's. I was greeted by every waitstaff person I passed with a warm friendly smile and it was 5 a.m. No one is that cheerful at that time of day. I had been there before and the waitress recognized me and offered me tea. She remembered that I wasn't a coffee person! She took my order and the food was served promptly and still hot. Large portions and it tasted fresh. I came back because I received great service the last time I visited from a guy named Alonzo but he had to be the manager because he really knew his stuff and seemed to be in-charge. I strongly recommend this Denny's to anyone looking for a great breakfast spot in San Jose; they have a lot of healthy choices on the menu, the food is good and fresh, and the service is outstanding.

My husband decided to order a milkshake for me while he was checking out and when the cashier gave him the milkshake my husband had advised her that it is a way smaller size and he was wondering did they switch the cups or something. The cashier immediately became defensive and argumentative and kept stating that that's the only size they ever had. My husband advised her that we order strawberry milkshakes from Denny's on a regular basis and we have never received this size. The cashier was talked to by someone who worked at Denny's and then the cashier went to the back and brought forth another cup that led my husband to believe it had the contents of the strawberry milkshake in it.

To top it off, they didn't even give him a military discount for the meal he paid for. Well, as soon as my husband got home I began to drink the milk shake and I immediately noticed the taste did not even taste like something you're supposed to be drinking. It tasted like cleaning fluid and the smell was like Ajax. A couple minutes later my throat started hurting and it has not gotten any better.

I have decided I'm going to the doctor first thing Monday morning to have my doctor check to see what's going on especially since now my throat is swollen. I also want to have the contents of the milkshake tested to see what in fact was placed into my milkshake besides the normal content. I have contacted the general manager of the Denny's establishment and he stated he will review the cameras to see if any foul play was involved. I'm HIGHLY upset at the situation because my family and I LOVE going to Denny's and we have ordered the same thing for years and now I will never look at this location the same.

I went to this Denny's with my wife around noon today - 6/23/14. We were seated, then the server came and asked about drinks. We asked for water. She came after 10 min. to serve water. Then she asked about our order. My wife ordered an ice cream and I ordered a "create your own burger". I opted for Veggie burger and the toppings and cheese and Chipotle sauce. I asked her if she would like to write it down, to which the server replied - "I will remember". 35 minutes later she comes with a burger which she initially tells me is a veggie burger but then she realized it was turkey and so she picked it up and went back to order me another one. She came back with another burger 10 min. back which was a veggie burger.

Halfway through the burger, I found pieces of meat (it was Ham, per the server herself). I called her and she said it was not her fault and took off. We stood up by this time and went to the cash counter where the manager said 2 lines to me - "I took care of your order. I apologize". I don't know what to say to these people who are arrogant, plain stupid and don't know an iota of customer service. I was at the same Denny's 6 months back and was served a meat burger when I had ordered a veggie burger. That time the same store manager shouted at me for showing my discontent. I'm vegetarian but I don't think they care about anyone's personal beliefs. I felt long time back that this restaurant should close but it's still going and still the same.

My husband ordered decaf coffee as did I. We were served our drinks within 5 min. The waitress took our order, I got the Grand Slam from the 2, 4, 6, 8 menu. My husband ordered the Santa Fe skillet with avocados. While talking to my husband, I realized I was missing my orange juice that comes with the meal. I asked, looked for the waitress and had to wait 7 min. for her to appear. She brought my juice and left.

I was cutting my pancakes, as I looked up I saw a cockroach walking across the wall behind my husband. I was so disgusted. The table next to us said "Eeww, a cockroach." Another waitress came by, ask what was going on and the table next to us said there was a cockroach. The waitress grabbed a receipt and smashed the roach. Not a word was said to us, like nothing had happened. We got up, without finishing my food and went to the cashier. I asked for the manager, he appeared quickly. I mentioned what had happened. He said he would take care of the bill and for us to please come back. I will never go back. If the roaches are in the dining area, I can only imagine how infested the kitchen is. Gross.

I went to the Denny's at 1610 South Harbor Anaheim California. I finally got served and I ordered the BYO Slam breakfast and coffee with whole wheat toast dry no butter. The waitress brought the coffee. I noticed the cup was dirty with left over eggs on the side of the cup. Waited for the waitress to appear again then called her over and asked for a clean cup of coffee. She finally brought one back then came my breakfast. She left and then I noticed the toast had butter on it. Could not see my waitress after 5 minutes, I motioned to the lady at the checkout; she never came over to me just asked what I needed.

I told her she got the attention from another person, waiter this time and he came over and I explained to him about the toast. He took the toast away and was supposed to bring me the correct order of toast. 16 minutes later my waitress brings the toast it was not even toasted it was just heated bread. I told her that she offered to bring it back, I told her no. It would have taken another 15 minutes to get new toast. I asked for another cup of coffee. I should have never had to ask, they are to ask me if I need a refill. She brought the coffee and then left the coffee. The coffee was like warm not even hot. I was going to ask my waitress to bring me a hot cup of coffee but she never appeared again.

Finally I went to the cashier to pay my bill, she asked for my receipt. I told her my waitress disappeared she never came back. The cashier asked me three times where I sat. Finally she asked me what I had and I told her. I never ever complained about a restaurant before and I have eaten at many Denny's before this was the worst I have ever experienced. Will never eat at this restaurant ever again. Very disappointed all I wanted was a nice hot cup of coffee and a hot breakfast, I got neither of that. I have never walked out of a restaurant without tipping a waitress, this time I did.

Later when I mentioned this to a waitress in private, I was told I'd have to complain to the manager... who of course wasn't there at the time... and besides, why should I have to complain to anyone being that Denny's is supposedly considered a family restaurant to begin with?

After this incident, I began to hang at this Denny's once in a while both day and night to get a feel if this was an ongoing thing and it definitely is. Problem is that nobody complains anymore for some reason. Every afternoon for a week that I went there, plenty of customers in the afternoon and language that waitresses clearly overheard yet said nothing. This went on as well at even and later hours, bar rushes were just plain embarrassing too much to state here. I would NEVER TAKE MY OWN KIDS THERE... Denny's is called a family restaurant. Why??? The Denny's restaurant in Alamogordo, New Mexico was a huge letdown. I took my son there for his birthday a few months ago. It was after 7:00 in the evening, the restaurant was nearly empty. We got a window table and ordered. My birthday boy ordered his free birthday slam breakfast. My other son ordered a nachos and I ordered a 3-course skillet meal.

To begin with, the waitress got my order wrong every step of the way. I did not get my salad as the first course, I was brought my skillet, and had to request my salad which is part of the meal and supposed to be brought first. The waitress was busy gossiping with the other waitresses behind the counter and it took some work to get her attention. I got a limp, wilted salad poured from a bag onto my plate. It was not very appetizing at all. The iced tea my son ordered looked murky. Really, Denny's should use purified water and not filthy tap water. His nachos was an extremely small portion and I gave him food off my plate. We had been done eating for a long time and the waitress never brought my dessert and my son had to get up and go request my pie I had ordered. I got my pecan pie and it was horrible, so hard I could not eat it. I would guess it had been sitting out for days to be so dehydrated, I had to take it home to the dogs.

Now, overall this was a poor experience already. Our waitress was inattentive, got my order wrong on multiple levels, the food was poor quality to the point of some of it was inedible. She brought our ticket. I got out my debit card. At which point the awful woman had the nerve to ask if I was putting a tip on that. Obviously the lazy, poor mannered woman serving up bad food deserved no tip at all. But I told her to put a few dollars on as her tip. At which point she got this look on her face... as if she wanted a much bigger tip. My kids and I were extremely disappointed in the service, quality, and food of Denny's. I went home and the next day went to the website and filed a complaint. I got an email back from corporate, apologizing, and was offered a 15 percent discount on my next visit. But I never want to go back again... why would we? I can make better food at home in a better environment. It was my birthday recently and even with the free slam breakfast I could not be lured in. I will never eat at this Denny's again.

The manager of this Denny's needs to work over the entire restaurant. Staff should be trained and watched over for their efficiency and courtesy. Food should be checked for freshness and quality. As it is, it is a horrible failure.

On October 1, 2013, we arrived at Denny's in National City off Sweetwater Road at approximately 4:40 p.m. and were seated within 5 minutes after arrival. There wasn't that many people in the restaurant, so we thought we'd get helped in a timely manner (total misconception)! It wasn't until 5:05 p.m. that someone approached us to take our drink order drinks! We asked to have 3 cupcake cups for the kids' drinks and they didn't have any in stock... So why promote items you're out of?? Doesn't make sense.

We thought, maybe they were a little behind. She (waitress wasn't wearing a name tag) came back after 15 minutes with water and an incomplete drink order. We sent her back for the drinks she forgot, came back and still forgot to bring a drink to the table. We thought, "Oh this is not going to be good." After bringing our last drink she decided to take our order.

She took our order and we waited, and waited and waited and waited until at approximately 6:15 p.m. we got up went to the front counter and asked to speak to the manager or the supervisor in charge. I asked her to ring me up for the drinks that were served and to let her know that, that had been the worst experience we had ever gone through in that restaurant, by far. We told her that we had waited a little over 45 minutes for our food to arrive and nothing arrived. What got me was that no one once came up to us and advised us that the food was on its way or that maybe the cook had collapsed, whatever excuse she could have come up with, nothing!!!! While we waited there were two other parties that walked out as well, because no one had approached them to even take down their drink order.

While I was complaining to the supervisor in charge, the no name waitress had the audacity to approach her and told the supervisor in Spanish, "Ay que esta pasando?? Ya ibamos a llevarle su comida??!! (with disdain)" Translated to: "Ugh, what's going on!?! The order was just about to come out to them," and I responded to the waitress, "Yeah, okay but we have been waiting for long time for our order and you haven't had the decency to come up to us, to ask or tell us any reason as to why it was taking so long, didn't even come to the table to offer refills on our drinks, nothing. Nothing was said to us and that is why we are leaving!" No name made a face and walked into the kitchen to bad mouth us with the cook telling him we were leaving. That made me angry because she could have waited till we walked out the door. I will not set one foot at that Denny's ever again. Worst service I have ever encountered. We left and decided to eat elsewhere!!!

On April 21st, after going to the Kansas City Golden Gloves and volunteering to work as an official for the kids, I was driving back to Springfield, Missouri. I saw a nice looking little Denny's in Peculiar, MO. I am a 100% disabled Veteran, and I had my family with me. I thought that since I needed to take my medication, this would be a good place to eat! Wrong! I ordered steak and eggs. Four people came in after us, and they received their food. Forty-five minutes had passed and my wife was getting frustrated. I was trying to be patient. Finally, I got up, went to the counter and asked, "How much longer will it be?" Our waitress got very smart with me and told me, "You ordered a steak and that takes time, it's your fault!”

I turned to what I thought was the manager, and I tried to explain the situation. She told me, with a very angry voice, “We are busy today. Step away from the counter.” Well, with this attitude from the staff, of course I got pissed off! I said I have never been treated with such racism in a restaurant, and given that I was a 100% disabled Veteran, I did not appreciate such poor service and uncalled for treatment. Then I was asked to leave. Well, I have to admit that did it. First, you try to make it look like it's my fault you have not served my breakfast yet, then you act like you flat out do not care, and that I do not have the right to complain to anyone! After a few choice words from me and some woman who worked there, I left the restaurant. The lady behind the counter had called the police, of course, because everyone gets nervous if a ** man gets upset when he is mistreated.

It's a shame this being 2013. The police came, and I explained my situation inside the restaurant. The police man apologized to me and told me that unfortunately, this was a small town outside of Kansas City and that it was not very diversified; he understood my position totally. I was asked not to return to that Denny's. I assured them that I had no intention of ever returning to that racist ** Denny's period, and that I would contact corporate and file a complaint! I have never, ever played the race card in my life! I am mixed. I have been a soldier, police officer, and worked as a supervisor for BNSF Railroad. I have never had to play the race card, but this is one time that I felt totally discriminated against and if it was a ** person that had been treated that way in a restaurant, nobody would have sided with the people in the restaurant! What happened to the days when customers were to be treated with respect and made to feel comfortable when they stopped to dine at your establishment? What happened to listening and acting like you cared if a customer had a complaint?

This place totally did not care and was way out of line in my opinion. Anybody who is sensible would feel the same way. The police officer was an ex-military man, and he and his fellow officers that showed up apologized to me. They admitted that the Denny's has been known to be a little racist towards **, and brushed it off with that old ** saying that it's small town, and that there are hardly any families other than ** living there. Excuse me, is this not 2013 or am I back in the 1950's? I mean, I did not want to even hear that crap after serving combat tours for this country and surviving, and then losing a $100,000 a year job with the railroad because of my combat related injuries for this country. I feel like this Denny's needs to be reprimanded and that their employees need to all be made to go to diversity training on a monthly basis. I am a very upset Veteran!

My 26-year-old son has been a Type 1 diabetic for 15 years. He loves Denny's, as we all do, and he especially likes it as his vegan requests are always granted. Last week, he and his fiancee were having dinner in Denny's in Enfield, CT when they realized his blood sugar was dropping drastically and he needed sugar yesterday! They asked for their drinks the second a waitress appeared and told her why. She then left and didn't come anywhere near them for 10-15 min. and my son was fading fast. He started eating the jellies on the table, then a handful of sugar packs. Soon, that was all gone and still no drinks!

His fiancee yelled for the waitress to please hurry and get him his juice as by now he didn't even know where he was. Without rushing, the waitress finally got his juice and he drank it all immediately. However, his sugar had dropped so very low during the delay that he then spoke stiltedly to his fiancee that he wasn't there, with a blank look. He was seconds from having a full blown seizure, so his fiancee got up, found the waitress and said that he needed more juice now, again! She seemed rather unconcerned when she brought it.

By now, his fiancee was crying out of fear and worry because no one in the place was offering any help! Finally, he began to come back (he knew where he was and who she was and some of what was happening). When the waitress came to take their order, she told him, "Well, maybe if you had ordered a big meal like a burger and fries and not the healthy meal you asked for, this might not have happened"! Seriously?

My son is pretty easy going and tried to take it as a joke, but his fiancee had just lived through an extremely traumatic experience and found no humor in her comment. There were no further problems that night, but watching someone you love falling apart right in front of you when it should never have happened in the first place just rips you to pieces. The poor thing couldn't stop crying and I don't believe she or he, not to mention myself, my family and everyone else I know, I hope ... will ever walk into a Denny's again.

This was totally preventable had the waitress done her job and put the customer's well being ahead of whatever else was going on. His health was a priority at that time, and I hope and pray that no one else has to suffer the way they did last week. Had he started to seize, I doubt anyone would have known or cared about what to do, but I surely hope at the least, they would've called an ambulance. There would have been a lawsuit in there had anyone realized after the fact that the whole terrifying episode could have been prevented by a prompt glass of juice. I hope that Denny's becomes aware of this as I haven't been able to contact them directly as I don't have the server slip. Without that, you can't leave a comment or a survey (another feature of Denny's that frustrates me more than I can say).

An employee's nightmare - I had worked for the Denny's on Kuhio Ave. in Honolulu, HI, and I have never been so appalled with the many, many major problems this particular Denny's restaurant displayed. I am not a disgruntled ex-employee either. I worked there till I just couldn't take any more shenanigans from the managerial staff. I started out as the host/cashier. Within a very short time of my employment, I had witnessed very poor behaviors towards employees as well as manager-to-manager respect. One manager named ** used to sit behind the cashier and down-talk customers because they requested a certain sitting area (mostly windows) and would deliberately make them wait even though there were tables open.

Also their request wouldn't even disrupt the rotation! And Denny's policy is “sit wherever you would like,” but because they requested a particular sitting area different from one she wanted to seat them, she would tell the server that he/she take their time getting to them to make them wait. That very same manager used to gossip about the employees that she didn't like to other employees. For instance, the first day I had started there, I couldn't wait to get out of there. I witnessed her deliberately over-seating an employee, who was new to the waiting position on purpose, all the while telling me how much she couldn't stand her, that she wouldn't be here for long and that I should apply for the waiting position! That poor girl did end up quitting! That very same behavior was time and time again displayed to other employees.

In fact in the short time of my grueling employment, I have never seen a bigger turnover of employees in my life. Within a month of employment, I watched 3 waitresses and 1 host quit, and it was because of the employee harassment ** had displayed. I eventually was 1 of the many, after 6 months of employment, that, too, couldn't handle the childish mischief this manager felt privileged to do. Also at the end of the year, to get their bonuses, the night managers would remove the 2,4,6,8 menu from the tables so customers would have to pay full price for items they could have gotten a Denny's 2,4,6,8 menu deal. Not to mention the cleanliness of the dinning wear. A time that I had to get a couple of soup bowls and a Sunday glass, I noticed the dishwasher guy doesn't use the actual dishwasher! He just hoses it off and picks off what remained and handed it to me.

I told him to put it through the dishwasher or at least scrub it. He looked at me as if that was something he had never done. I brought it up to management and they said he hosed it right and I said, "Yes." They replied, "That’s good enough, as long as there's no chunks on it!" I know that the Denny's corporation would not approve of any of this delinquent behavior. Sad enough, I had to resign from working there. And future customers: avoid Kuhio Ave. Denny's at all cost when it comes to good customer, employee care and especially if you'd like to eat off clean dinning ware! But if you do find yourself there one night, request to have your dinnerware scrubbed and to see the 2,4,6,8 menu they stashed away!

On a weekly basis, I order takeout from my local Denny's restaurant. Each time I visited (12/02, 12/06, 12/17) the Denny's on Reseda #46789 (Merchant #1), I was harassed by the store manager! He is never friendly or wearing a name tag. His negative attitude and comments towards me include statements like "Other managers may not charge you for a cup of ice, but I have to start charging you;" or "I need to see your ID," when I use my credit card for payment. I don't see the same manager telling other customers the same statements.

Two weeks ago, while in the restaurant, I told the district manager. The comments have not stopped. This time I am writing a note to the Denny's corporation, BB, Yelp and possibly the media to let them know about this manager's conduct. I want my complaint placed in his permanent file and tallied in his next review. I feel his actions are speared by both racial and gender biases. Though it may not sound much, it is enough for me to write/phone the corporate office. This man never says hello or good morning like I see him doing to some other customers.

Last night I went to the Denny's restaurant on Topanga Canyon Blvd and both the manager and employee were very nice to me. I have driven 5 miles out of the way to this Denny's to avoid the Reseda restaurant's disrespect! I am determined to keep writing complaints until your company removes that manager from any store in my local area. In closing, he is not worth the financial loss of me taking my business to another company and telling all of my family/friends about my experience and the corporate response.

On November 9, 2012, my daughter and I went to the Denny's in Fountain Valley, CA. It was my birthday. We wanted to get the free Grand Slam. We were greeted by a server, an older woman maybe in her late 50s. We were immediately put in the corner of the restaurant away from the other customers. We are black. We were very stunned, so stunned, we were speechless. The place was not full. My daughter asked if I could get the Grand Slam as it was my birthday. The server briskly said, just show it to the cashier when you pay. She said our server would be right with us.

This server went to the other two tables where she was the waitress. She was so very friendly, so pleasant. She went on to tell them about the new coffee machine they were going to get. How much better tasting the coffee would be? She was just very friendly. I sat there shocked. She barely said a couple of words to me. She could not wait to get away from our table. It became very evident we were being snubbed. First, she put us in the corner and barely said anything civil. Then she went and was Super Waitress to the other customers who were not black. She came back over and said our server was on break and she would take our order. Once again, she was not friendly, more like it was a chore to wait on us.

Our server came over, a very nice young man. He brought the food. He gave us our bill, said happy birthday to me, and said he had already taken off the Grand Slam. I just looked at him with this stunned look as we were told to show the cashier my license when we paid. I guess from the look on my face, he could tell something was wrong. He said, “She already looked at your license right?” I said nothing and still stunned. I left him a nice $7 tip, what the Grand Slam would be worth and we left.

I sent a complaint to Denny’s. The regional manager sent an email about how sorry she was about our experience and she would send us some coupons for my daughter and myself. Well the coupons arrived. I never really looked at them. The thought of going back to that Denny’s still traumatizes me. I cannot believe that in 2012 we were treated that way. Last week, one month later, my daughter and I decided to use the coupons. We went to another Denny's in another county. After consuming our meals, we were told that the coupons were only good for one person at a time.

Are you serious? First off, we were thrown some breakfast coupons for being treated like second citizens, then you can only use the coupons one at a time? I have been traumatized by this. I have no desire at all to ever go back to the Denny’s in Fountain Valley. I never wanted anything out of this, but to feel that Denny’s cares how their customers are treated. It's really an insult to have been treated like we were and then to send us a couple of coupons as an apology. And the coupons are even a joke. I want nothing from Denny’s. All they had to do was maybe even have given us two free dinners at one time, something to show that this is not acceptable. But a couple of breakfast coupons to be used one at a time is a joke.

If we were shown that what happened to us really meant something, I would have gotten over it. But the fact that Denny's let their employee treat someone like that and then Denny's reacts by mailing a couple of coupons is obscene. I feel as though the horrible treatment still continues. I do not want anything from Denny's. I do want as many people as possible to know how Denny's handles situations like this. I have lived in the neighborhood for many years. I am a homeowner. We were dressed nicely. I am aware that this was right after the elections and some people were still a little upset. But to judge someone by their color, which is all I can assume, as she was pleasant with everyone else and we were the only black people in the place, is sad.

She asked her manager, and she said no. Well, what about those of us who don't drink coffee and drink tea instead. Why only coffee and not hot tea? That’s a little unfair. Just because we don't drink coffee, you would think the manager could and would do this for the customer who is a senior just to keep them coming back to their store. Anyway, it was very upsetting. This is a complaint, but it's also a warning to other consumers who dine out to watch for unanticipated charges on their bill. Things like a side of ranch dressing for dipping and butter that were not charged for previously are being charged for now, but neither the menu nor the server discloses the extra charge. While dining at Applebee's, when a baked potato was selected from the potato choices, the server asked if I wanted "everything" on it. I replied "yes," but neither she nor the menu stated that there would be an extra $1.49 charge for the toppings which came free with the potato previously. At Denny's, the side of ranch dressing was charged on the bill but neither the menu nor the server indicated that there would be a charge.

My family does not mind paying for a side of dressing or gravy, but it should be disclosed that there is a charge so that we are aware that if it is requested, it will cost an extra $0.90. The same with the baked potato - if the toppings cost extra, that should also be disclosed to the consumer. Some places are charging extra for margarine for dinner rolls and not disclosing to the customer that there is an extra charge which is not fair to the customer. Many families have a limited dining out budget and they need to know the entire cost of the meal prior to dining out.

To charge for items that were not charged for previously and not tell the customer up front that there is now a charge for the item or items is sneaky and is ripping the customer off. My comments to the management of both of these restaurants did nothing.

Today was the worst experience I have ever had at a Denny's Restaurant before! When I came in, the GM was taking a smoke break in the front right next to the door & followed us in only to begin yelling at the employees to take our orders. Every employee was new with exception to only a couple & boy, did they seem stressed. He took our order, and had an unexceptional attitude. We ordered the Build Your Own Burgers and some Pancake Puppies, waited about 30-40 minutes for two burgers! Our food sat on the counter for at least 10 minutes and to make that worse, the Pancake Puppies that were given out the first time were about as dark as the jet black box that they served them in. When asked politely if they could redo them, the chef agreed but the general manager went on a wild tangent on me & an employee! He stepped in the kitchen, held the batter bucket up and said, "This is why they are dark, but I will still cook them." Everyone began to look at him in a crazed manner. Within 2 minutes, he tossed some up in a to-go box with a complete disregard for who may have been on the other side. The Puppies were only browned just a tad on the outside and completely undone on the inside! Wow! Thanks, Mr. ** for the best late night dinner & Customer Service I have ever had (sarcastically said in every instance)!

No one wanted to wait on us; they all looked horrified that we had decided to have lunch. When we did get seated, the waitress had an attitude and was snippy with us. Everyone around us, who came in after us, got their food ahead of us. We waited an hour for our food and then only half of us received it. The food arrived cold, and those who were fed last had to ask for boxes because everyone else was ready to go.

Both times it took 10 minutes to just get someone to come to the table for out order. Both times this happened, we didn't feel comfortable eating the food and left. We will never again try to eat there. The store was dirty, the tables were gross and the staff was extremely rude. This is wrong because the fact is you have to buy a drink to get a voting card and most people vote for themselves. I know my whole table of 9 people voted for Jerry and the table of 7 people next to us voted for their friends, leaving 2 to vote all their slips to Breanna, who is a Denny's employee. My family & I ate here on Christmas night as that was the only place open. We were seated before 4 families behind us but each of them ate & left before we received our food. When we ate, the waitress she said it was because they ordered breakfast & since it was easier than our cheeseburgers it got fixed first (are you kidding?). Our waitress was about one of the rudest & obnoxious people I ever met. After an hour, our food finally came out & was cold. The waitress said there was a mix-up in the kitchen. She also never brought us any refills (keep in mind drinks are $2.50 ea). We were only offered their special "Christmas menu" which had prices listed higher than normal. I thought there was a law against gouging? My husband always orders off their special 2-4-6-8 menu which has their classic burger & fries for $6.00. This menu listed a "Classic Cheeseburger" for $7.79. When we asked about it, they said it had cheese. $1.79 for cheese, are you kidding?

I live alone and this year for Christmas I didn't want to cook. So I ordered the Christmas plate from Denny's for takeout. The process was smooth and the staff were friendly, no problem there. When I got home I opened the bag and I nearly fainted. There was a rotten smell coming from the mashed potatoes, which were not in a nice scoop with gravy on top.

They were like an elongated mass of leftover potatoes with gravy coming from the sides of it as if it was taken from another plate and dumped in the takeout dish. I tasted them and the potatoes tasted like made from the box, no real potato taste, and the gravy smelled really bad. The green beans were wilted and a few looked made a long time ago. The turkey was sliced turkey that did not have a turkey taste and was crispy, not soft. The stuffing tasted good but salty as heck. The slice of pumpkin pie I ordered separately tasted okay, but had a lavender aftertaste. The main problem for me were the potatoes.

I was hungry but the only thing I could eat was the sliced crispy turkey and the garlic bread. I did taste the green beans and the mashed potatoes, but couldn't eat them. This was my Christmas dinner, which cost me around $12. I could've done better with a TV dinner. I am writing this here so people know what kind of stuff is being sold there. I did not contact the manager or anyone at their website because I can't take the hassle of someone being mean about it. Just giving my opinion of the food they sold me. First time ordering there. I'm not sick, though I will have to wait a few hours to really know if it made me sick.

I felt discriminated humiliated because they denied service to me and my family. We were at Denny's in Ceres California by Hatch and Herndon on November 27, like around 9:30. Because he wanted an exact number of people to get a table, I had to tell him to wait and I started to count and he laughed at me because I didn't knew how many people were coming. He thought I had called him stupid which I didn't and didn't let me even explain. I said stupid people but didn't meant him and that's why they denied service to everyone. I'm a good christian girl and that made me feel really bad and I have no reason to disrespected some one like that.

Had excellent service. It wasn't that busy, but wait staff are very attentive. Ordered grilled English muffins, when I said they tasted odd, I was told no butter in the place, period. No butter! I was not told that my food was being prepared with a soy based product, never mind giving a choice. They made chips with a soy based oil. They don't make them anymore, because people got sick with digestive problems. Exactly! I was sick for two hours shortly after consuming my "healthy" fat. Not interested in returning to a company who doesn't think that at at 60 years old, I can't make my own decisions, about what I eat.

I have two problems! One, I attempted to fill out a Denny's survey for the free "build your own" meal. It wasted a lot of my time by locking-up and not letting me finish! Second, I keep having problems with the above mentioned Denny's. They have poor management and horrible customer service! I'm a regular and I don't appreciate being treated like this. The orders are wrong. They got wrong pricing and no receipts are given. Also, no one is answering the phone for "orders to go"! They are not busy. There are 3 people in restaurant etc. Now I'm a disabled older person and I can't write anymore. If you care about your customers, then please email or call me for more details. Thank you.

I was on a special trip with my church group and decided to stop and we saw Denny's Restaurant and decided to have lunch. I ordered meatloaf and was ready for the taste. Instead I was served a Hamburger Pattie with brown gravy, and told the waitress, you are kidding me! I even went as far as tasting it and was horrible. If they can not provided meatloaf even anything that looks like a meatloaf, I believe it is false advertisement. I know every meatloaf might and will not taste the same but did not even look anywhere like meatloaf. They need to remove that item from the menu.

On Tuesday, August 10, 2010, at 12:30 pm. My wife and I were at Denney's eating Santa Fe Skillet which costs $4.99. I noticed that there was no toast with the meal and I requested two slices of toast. The toast arrived and the meal was consumed without any difficulty. Upon receiving the ticket for the meal, I noticed that the cost of the two slices of toast is $1.98 at which I called the waitress over and asked her if the price for the toast was correct. She replied that the price was correct and added that if I had ordered an extra egg that it would have cost me $2.98. I paid my bill and vowed that we would never eat at Denney's again in as much as we used to eat there quite often because we liked the food, prices and the service. But now that they are price gouging, I will not go there any more.

    1) She and her man.said that if disable vets come in add extra salt. There are food I'm 100% disable vet. I took that as slap and face because I put my life on line for people like this.
    2) Black are not welcome, hear man said that would not hire Black and government makes us. We will keep them in back area for we would have two look at them.

I told her it was after 10pm and she said she thought she saw a sign posted behind the cash register that said an 18% gratuity will be add to all orders from 10pm to 5 am.

A waiter came to our table a few seconds later and I asked him about this and he told us that yes they add a gratuity to all orders at 9:30pm on. I told him never mind that we were leaving and taking our business elsewhere. After we had come outside the manager came out and we briefly told him our issues and left. I will never give this franchise my patronage again.

We entered the restaurant in hopes of having a light breakfast at a reasonable price, considering the ad for a huge breakfast at $5.99. Besides encountering a filthy dirty, greasy facility, we could not order a small breakfast at all from the menu. The restauraunt obviosuly promotes obesity in its patrons. Everyone around us was obese and now I can see why.

There was nothing on the menu other than giant meals at decent prices. To order a simple and healthy breakfast, the customer is forced to pay for a huge breakfast and throw half of it away, or order a la carte and pay much, much more. There is absolutely no option for a person to have a healthy breakfast at a reasonable price at this place.

On September 24, 2006, at approximately 9:50 PM, our group of eight were seated at the afore mentioned Denny's Restaurant. Each of the three couples had Dr. Pepper sponsored coupons to "buy one entree'and get one free with purchase of two Dr.Pepper bever-ages or any other beverages". The coupon expressly states "One coupon per person per visit" as first line of small print. (All other small print was not relevant to this scenario). After we placed our drink orders, the shift manager approached our table and informed us that the "coupons could only be used by one person per table"!

We pointed out that the expressly worded statement on the coupon was not the same as what he was saying. He refused to reconsider what we were READING to him from the coupons!

We considered splitting up to separate tables to conform with his interpretation, but decided not to based on the verbage on the coupon. We left that establishment and went elsewhere (not another Denny's). I believe both Denny's Restaurants and Dr.Pepper corporates would be interested in how their advertising coupons are being accepted in the real world!!!

Chris, the owner of this Franchise . Can't properly run a business. He Fired me because I called out sick one day. His reasons for firing me are as follows; False documentation of hours, Always complaining about being sick, And customer complaint. Now, in the order written down i will explain every one of them. I am 17 years old and was a Full-TIme waitress at his resturant. He would double shift me, he made me work 10, 12, 14 hour shifts with no break sometimes. And he would take a lunch break out of my check for all of these shifts, BUT would refuse to let me take a break.

He would pay me for less hours than I actually worked, and wouldn't pay me for all my over time. He threatened me that if i called out sick that he would fire me. Even so that I show and have medical records of being very sick. His mentallity of thinking was, and I quote " If you are sick, i rather fire you, and hire somebody that doesn't have any problems."

Not only that he endangered customers for making me come to work when i was very sick. I couldn't afford to lose me job since i live on my own, and didn't have any time to find another job because I worked long hours. The customers never complained about bad service, because I always had a smile on my face and made friendly conversation with the guests. They complained about the food. I remember the emotion stress I went through every working day because the customers would yell and blame me for the food being cold, gross, or because we were out.

One day as I can recall, we were out of ; T-bone streak, panacakes, hashbrowns, fries, bufflo hamburgers, ranch hambugers, grilled chicken, milk, butter and salad. Not to mention the fact that all the dairy products that he does have are out for hours in the humid kitchen. The reason I was't able to make it to work on Sunday, was because the night before I was jumped by three girls outside, and was badly hurt. I called out at 2am when I was supposed to work at 8am, which gave them plenty of notice.

One time I came to work with a bleeding toe, and they refused to let me go home, so i stayed and basically hoped around, I am not a baby, but my feet for that matter everybody's feet are very sensitive. That same night i burned my hands on boiling hot soup, which resulted in 1st degree burns. No one offered to help me or get the first aid kit. Nevermind, they don't even carry a first aid Kit. Instead I was yelled at and told to get back to work. I am not the only worker that has been wrongful terminated, I have the names and phone numbers of atleast 5 other watiress that have been through this, and worst. If you decide to investagate this further I will get permission to release there names and numbers.
