Upgrade made the loan process quick and easy. I am a return customer so a lot of the approval process was already done. It makes it so much easier dealing with someone who knows you vs. someone who interrogates you.

Just want to share my experience with Upgrade regarding unauthorized transactions. They are the worst bank EVER to handle such matters. They will lie and misguide you to not take any responsibility whatsoever. They have an employee, named Xavier, who always answers the phone and he is as dumb as a bag of rocks. I definitely would NOT recommend this bank to anyone. They have the worst customer service when it comes to a serious situation such as "unauthorized merchants" taking your money. Be careful!.

Very easy for the whole process, just a few minutes online to get approved and that's it!! Very pleased and would highly recommend! getting your money deposited into account was very fast...in account the next day.

Upgrade is the best place to get assistance. Have your documents, upload them, and the money is yours in less than 3 days. Also, be reminded all payments must be automatically deducted from your account. It helps me because I don't have to worry about forgetting to pay. Thank you guys for all your help!

DO NOT USE UPGRADE. I used Upgrade to purchase airline tickets on Air Canada. Loan was paid in full November 2025. We canceled our airlines tickets February 18, 2026 and Air Canada emailed that we should receive a full refund via original payment. Air Canada refunded Upgrade on February 19th as noted on my Upgrade account. Upgrade policy states it will refund money within 10 days. I contacted Upgrade on February 27th, 2026, asking about my refund expecting it to go back on my bank debit card (original form of payment). The representative, Joshua, told me they could not refund back to my debit card. He said I needed to add (link) my bank account to Upgrade to receive the refund OR they could mail a CHECK, but it would take 4 to 6 weeks!

Upgrade offered me the best rate and loan options. Requesting a loan was simple and the approval process was smooth and easy. I am grateful for their expediency.

I am a very cautious and skeptical person. So when this process was so fast and so easy I thought it was a scam. But to my delight, it was not a scam. I was approved and funds came in as promised. They did what they said they were gonna do and it was just a no hassle experience. I wish I found this sooner. I would highly recommend this to the people who desperately need help. IT REALLY WORKS FAST AND EASY.

Outstanding experience overall. I applied for a loan with this bank and wasn't sure what to think because this bank lack actual physical branches. And there's no actual human experience but lo and behold it was fast and easy without someone lecturing you about how much debt you accumulated. Also you can set up a checking and savings account and fund it several ways. So far the two neo banks doing this I know of is Upgrade and Upstart. This may be the wave of future banking.

Didn't expect to be approved for the amount I receive. Application easy to complete, answer quick and transferring funds even quicker. So happy to try and get an awesome results.

I am hoping this review will be able to reach everyone in time before you decide to go with this company, Upgrade for any type of loan. I made a consolidation loan with Upgrade to of course consolidate all my credit cards. After reading some of the reviews, I was convinced this was the company to get my loan, so I did. Getting the loan was effortless, and very easy with excellent customer service to bait you in. However, if you are asking for temporary hardship, they will not help you or listen to your concerns. They instead let a computer generate what you should be paying. I had never had any issues with paying what I had borrowed, and I am always making sure my payment has gone through.

I can honestly say that Upgrade has been here for me when I've needed them. Rather it was for bill consolidation, vacation or for an unexpected emergency like I recently had. The time and professionalism from the staff was great and everything that I requested was delivered Right On Time..Thanks

The process of getting a loan is really quick and easy. Loan amount transferred immediately. Automatic repayment makes it very convenient. Great loan options.

The process was simple and easy. I applied for a loan to pay off my credit cards. You will have to upload your recent bank statement as well as your driver's license or ID card. The credit bureau they use is Transunion. Once I finish the application and followed steps that was given to upload my documents, I received an email a few hours later and said, "You're approved." The monthly payments that I have to pay are reasonable. I only requested what I needed to pay my credit card debt off. Thank you Upgrade.

Quick and easy process. Very straightforward. Interest rates are high right now in the country so if your credit is not good, expect that. Origination fee can hurt a little, but overall, you're getting a good bang for your buck.

This is my second time using Upgrade and the second time getting approved for the amount of money I needed when I got denied by others and the interest rate wasn’t sky high. I have a good credit score but my debt-to-income ratio looks bad. It takes tooo long after been approved to get email ...Loan approved over 3 weeks...Supposed loan escalated and still no response. 😑 Ask by a representative if I wanted to cancel the loan at the end of my last inquiry...and still no response.

I will admit the loan was very quick, too good to be true and it was, I borrow 10,000 but was only given 9000 with 6 years to pay back at double what I was given so I gave it back, I thought this company was good but to many like me who credit score is average I felt like I was taken advantage of, they’ll lend me the money but at a high cost.

When I needed it the most, because it felt like no other bank or company would even consider giving me a chance, no matter how small my loan request was. Upgrade gave me a second chance. What was awesome is that they didn't make it a huge ordeal to make the decision on giving me a loan. I applied, they got back to me to submit a couple documents the same day. The next day, I was notified that I was approved and the next day, the money was in my bank account. I didn't think it was true, I was hesitant, thinking at any time I'd get notified that I had just gotten scammed.

Upgrade did not honor the terms of my loan. They made an error with the distribution of the funds that violated our agreement. Then stalled with endless “investigations” into their own admitted error which resulted in me still not getting my funds - a direct violation of the agreement. They do not make it clear when you borrow the money that they are not the bank. They’re just the middleman there’s a third-party bank that actually funds your loan, causing delays in a lack of communication. I still have not received my funds and I’m in an endless loop of arguing with their customer service.

I have been doing business with Upgrade for many years, and have opened two accounts with them. They are the only company I have ever worked with that has been truly fair to deal with. They do not place any unreasonable fees on my loan, and if I have any type of emergency come up, all I have to do is call them, and they have always worked it out. I am very grateful that I found this company.

They charged a $400 fee that I was not informed of, either in writing or verbally. The document that advised of this fee only showed up in my account after the money (minus $400) was transferred to my account.

The customer service was friendly but after being transferred multiple times and speaking with multiple agents somewhere the fees were misunderstood and I ended up with 20% of my loan going to origination and consultation fees. The whole process started with a "pre-approval" letter. I would not recommend a loan through Upgrade unless absolutely necessary and be aware that you'll only receive about 80% of your loan amount.

I've never experienced anything like this. Upgrade was so easy to apply for a loan and get it approved and sent to my bank within 2 business days. It was awesome! And I received a good interest rate as well. Unbelievable! I had to check the reviews before I started the loan process and found that it was legitimate.

I have been contacting customer service via email and I am not getting a response. I didn't get the full amount of the loan and just want to know why and I paid on some items and I think they were paid.

I was never told about an origination fee. If I knew they would keep 800.00 of my 10,000.00 I would have never agreed to the loan. I feel they are very dishonest. They tell you a lot of things, text you 2 times every day call you every day of the process, but never tell you about the origination fee. I would never use them again or recommend them at all.

Why is UpgradeInc trying to charge me when I've never applied for a loan thru them? When I try to "ck my account" 'here' it tells me "address not found." It is showing up on my Experian account and is triggering alerts from Discover.

I tried a refinance loan with the house. That was very complex. Here, I simply clicked the desired amount needed and it was in my account the next day. Pay off creditors, make one monthly payment and done in 3 years.

I did not like my experience. You have 7 days to cancel but they do nothing to help you. They can't stop payments even if they haven't went through. It's on you to contact the credit card companies and see if they will refund the money. They charge 640 dollars on top of the 27 percent they are taking and they charge the 27 percent on the 640 also. I would not recommend. The customer service is bad. It like they try to trap you in the loan.

I have an Upgrade account, and I am very dissatisfied with the service. They took two payments from me instead of one and it been two weeks since they told me they were going to put it back in my account, in the meantime I've defaulted on my insurance for my car. The money they took from me, was for my car insurance and now I have late fees and no insurance. I live on a strict budget, and it has caused financial difficulties for me. When I'm done paying off this account, I will never use them or recommend them to anyone.

Really upset. I was grateful a loan and a large portion was to pay another debt. Well I a week out and payment not made yet you already have me set up to payback a loan that you were to pay off. This is really upsetting. How can I cancel and payback the small amount you put in my bank account.

It took over a week to get the funds from my loan. I called repeatedly and was told the funds would take 1-4 days. I finally asked for a supervisor and got one that knew what she was talking about. Apparently, there was a glitch in the system where it did not give me a final approval. Once a glitch was fixed it was still 1-4 days for the funds but they came in 2 days. Will never use Upgrade again!

My loan request was reviewed and approved in just a few hours. Funds hit my account in just one day! I would highly recommend their service. I compared their offer with a number of other lenders and they had the most competitive loan rate.

I haven’t had any negative experiences with Upgrade. I have 2 cards and a loan. The origination fee is a little high but not by much more than some places. They are very fast and easy to use. I will definitely use them for a loan again.

If I could give zero stars, I would. I applied for a loan with Upgrade on July 3rd and was approved the same day. I received multiple emails confirming my approval and stating that my funds would be deposited within 1-4 business days. That did not happen. I didn’t receive the funds until the 5th business day, July 9th. When I contacted customer service to ask why my credit was pulled twice within 24 hours, I was told it was for “quality assurance.” That’s not a valid excuse in my opinion — no lender should be pulling hard inquiries on someone’s credit twice in a single day without proper cause or disclosure. On top of that, they expected my first payment to be due July 3rd — the day I was approved, not the day I received funds. I made it very clear that I would not be paying on a loan that hadn’t even been funded yet.

I was charged interest at an effective APR of over 5,400% in a single billing cycle by Upgrade, Inc., despite being quoted a fixed APR of 28.96%. In September 2023, I paid $220 and Upgrade allocated $180 to interest and only $40 to principal. This contradicts the Truth in Lending disclosures and reflects deceptive billing behavior. I wouldn't give it a one star honestly. Currently they say I'm at a 29.99% APR but I pay 38% in interest monthly.

I did not like that if I want to pay off loan you guys charge entire interest. You should only charge for the amount of time loan is open. That sounds pretty unfair. Are you trying to help people or hurt them!

Great for getting loans. Beware. They hold ACH transfers to your checking account for 3-5 business days. That is unrealistic in today's banking world. Schwab and many other institutions give access to your transfers within 48 hours. I cannot recommend their checking account. If you just need a loan they are good to work with.

I have been an Upgrade customer for several years and would definitely recommend them as a lender. I just took out a second loan with them, and the process was easy and the interest rate was much better than those from other lenders.

Took out a loan for $25,000. Disbursement was super fast, but the slowest route. They offered a cheaper interest rate if they were to pay off at least $12,000 in debt. Failed to disclose that they would be mailing a check and that could take up to 10 business days. I called to get tracking information for the check. Customer service was subpar. One call was told three business days to get tracking information the second call I was told 15 days. Each day is collecting interest on the distribution but no one can tell me where $ 19k is.

I had a very pleasant experience with Upgrade. My Loan Application was easy and the money gets to your bank fast. Their customer service was very helpful and I didn't have any issues at all with the duration of my loan. When I needed something changed in my Account Settings, it was very easy. You can operate within the app or on desktop.

Process of obtaining debt consolidation loan quick and easy and like online app for payments. The biggest negative is not a lot of options for paying half my loan on bills because system only links to certain credit card accounts so therefore I’m penalized and have a higher rate on my loan because one of the reasons for this loan is to pay off closed account and Upgrade would not recognize that account. I even called customer service and they could not help. So I ended up taking all cash option to pay on cards open and closed. Plus funds once approved were in my account next day and been over a week and payment to one of my cards is still pending. Hope this helps.
