I have been doing business with Upgrade for many years, and have opened two accounts with them. They are the only company I have ever worked with that has been truly fair to deal with. They do not place any unreasonable fees on my loan, and if I have any type of emergency come up, all I have to do is call them, and they have always worked it out. I am very grateful that I found this company.

They charged a $400 fee that I was not informed of, either in writing or verbally. The document that advised of this fee only showed up in my account after the money (minus $400) was transferred to my account.

The customer service was friendly but after being transferred multiple times and speaking with multiple agents somewhere the fees were misunderstood and I ended up with 20% of my loan going to origination and consultation fees. The whole process started with a "pre-approval" letter. I would not recommend a loan through Upgrade unless absolutely necessary and be aware that you'll only receive about 80% of your loan amount.

I've never experienced anything like this. Upgrade was so easy to apply for a loan and get it approved and sent to my bank within 2 business days. It was awesome! And I received a good interest rate as well. Unbelievable! I had to check the reviews before I started the loan process and found that it was legitimate.

Upgrade has always come through when I needed them. Very easy to use. Their website and customer service is always friendly and helpful. Their loan process is very easy to navigate and understandable. Gives you different loan options.

I have been contacting customer service via email and I am not getting a response. I didn't get the full amount of the loan and just want to know why and I paid on some items and I think they were paid.

This is my second loan with Upgrade. Both time they were extremely fast and easy. You can apply at 5pm Eastern and by 6am the money is in your account. Upgrade has the absolute best customer service too.

I was never told about an origination fee. If I knew they would keep 800.00 of my 10,000.00 I would have never agreed to the loan. I feel they are very dishonest. They tell you a lot of things, text you 2 times every day call you every day of the process, but never tell you about the origination fee. I would never use them again or recommend them at all.

Why is UpgradeInc trying to charge me when I've never applied for a loan thru them? When I try to "ck my account" 'here' it tells me "address not found." It is showing up on my Experian account and is triggering alerts from Discover.

I tried a refinance loan with the house. That was very complex. Here, I simply clicked the desired amount needed and it was in my account the next day. Pay off creditors, make one monthly payment and done in 3 years.

Upgrade is awesome! I hope I’m able to qualify for more in the future! They came through when I needed them most 2 times, grateful to have them. I used them for a cruise I was going on and I used them for a personal loan.

I did a credit card debt, the process and approval were fast. No collateral and no references like other loans. They paid off the credit card within 2 business days and send the rest to my account. I will do it again when I finish paying it off.

This is my second Upgrade loan. I got a good APR, now I paid off my high interest credit card. Upgrade is saving me $8000 interest and in 3 years it will be paid off. I have been paying on that credit card for 10 years and getting no where. Only bad thing is the origination fee but for me it was worth it.

High origination fee but that's part of the business when you are requesting to borrow money. But Upgrade definitely the Best. 5 star rating here.

I did not like my experience. You have 7 days to cancel but they do nothing to help you. They can't stop payments even if they haven't went through. It's on you to contact the credit card companies and see if they will refund the money. They charge 640 dollars on top of the 27 percent they are taking and they charge the 27 percent on the 640 also. I would not recommend. The customer service is bad. It like they try to trap you in the loan.

I have an Upgrade account, and I am very dissatisfied with the service. They took two payments from me instead of one and it been two weeks since they told me they were going to put it back in my account, in the meantime I've defaulted on my insurance for my car. The money they took from me, was for my car insurance and now I have late fees and no insurance. I live on a strict budget, and it has caused financial difficulties for me. When I'm done paying off this account, I will never use them or recommend them to anyone.

Really upset. I was grateful a loan and a large portion was to pay another debt. Well I a week out and payment not made yet you already have me set up to payback a loan that you were to pay off. This is really upsetting. How can I cancel and payback the small amount you put in my bank account.

It took over a week to get the funds from my loan. I called repeatedly and was told the funds would take 1-4 days. I finally asked for a supervisor and got one that knew what she was talking about. Apparently, there was a glitch in the system where it did not give me a final approval. Once a glitch was fixed it was still 1-4 days for the funds but they came in 2 days. Will never use Upgrade again!

My loan request was reviewed and approved in just a few hours. Funds hit my account in just one day! I would highly recommend their service. I compared their offer with a number of other lenders and they had the most competitive loan rate.

I haven’t had any negative experiences with Upgrade. I have 2 cards and a loan. The origination fee is a little high but not by much more than some places. They are very fast and easy to use. I will definitely use them for a loan again.

If I could give zero stars, I would. I applied for a loan with Upgrade on July 3rd and was approved the same day. I received multiple emails confirming my approval and stating that my funds would be deposited within 1-4 business days. That did not happen. I didn’t receive the funds until the 5th business day, July 9th. When I contacted customer service to ask why my credit was pulled twice within 24 hours, I was told it was for “quality assurance.” That’s not a valid excuse in my opinion — no lender should be pulling hard inquiries on someone’s credit twice in a single day without proper cause or disclosure. On top of that, they expected my first payment to be due July 3rd — the day I was approved, not the day I received funds. I made it very clear that I would not be paying on a loan that hadn’t even been funded yet.

I was charged interest at an effective APR of over 5,400% in a single billing cycle by Upgrade, Inc., despite being quoted a fixed APR of 28.96%. In September 2023, I paid $220 and Upgrade allocated $180 to interest and only $40 to principal. This contradicts the Truth in Lending disclosures and reflects deceptive billing behavior. I wouldn't give it a one star honestly. Currently they say I'm at a 29.99% APR but I pay 38% in interest monthly.

I did not like that if I want to pay off loan you guys charge entire interest. You should only charge for the amount of time loan is open. That sounds pretty unfair. Are you trying to help people or hurt them!

Great for getting loans. Beware. They hold ACH transfers to your checking account for 3-5 business days. That is unrealistic in today's banking world. Schwab and many other institutions give access to your transfers within 48 hours. I cannot recommend their checking account. If you just need a loan they are good to work with.

I have been an Upgrade customer for several years and would definitely recommend them as a lender. I just took out a second loan with them, and the process was easy and the interest rate was much better than those from other lenders.

Took out a loan for $25,000. Disbursement was super fast, but the slowest route. They offered a cheaper interest rate if they were to pay off at least $12,000 in debt. Failed to disclose that they would be mailing a check and that could take up to 10 business days. I called to get tracking information for the check. Customer service was subpar. One call was told three business days to get tracking information the second call I was told 15 days. Each day is collecting interest on the distribution but no one can tell me where $ 19k is.

I had a very pleasant experience with Upgrade. My Loan Application was easy and the money gets to your bank fast. Their customer service was very helpful and I didn't have any issues at all with the duration of my loan. When I needed something changed in my Account Settings, it was very easy. You can operate within the app or on desktop.

Process of obtaining debt consolidation loan quick and easy and like online app for payments. The biggest negative is not a lot of options for paying half my loan on bills because system only links to certain credit card accounts so therefore I’m penalized and have a higher rate on my loan because one of the reasons for this loan is to pay off closed account and Upgrade would not recognize that account. I even called customer service and they could not help. So I ended up taking all cash option to pay on cards open and closed. Plus funds once approved were in my account next day and been over a week and payment to one of my cards is still pending. Hope this helps.

This isn't my first loan with Upgrade, they are easy to work with and make the process simple. Like other personal loans there is an upfront fee, be aware of this so you aren't surprised, no this isn't a 'rip off'. This is standard industry practice and helps to reduce the rate you pay for your loan, think of it as 'points.' From time of approval to time of payout, this process is fast and seamless. If you are looking to consolidate and paydown, I recommend having them pay directly to your CC, it will further reduce the rates you pay.

The problem I had was they asked for different documents several times instead of all at once, this was a problem because I wasn't able to get them as quickly as I would have liked. When they called it was difficult to understand what they wanted for sure.

Well I started and finished everything online. Within a matter of a day and a half, the funds were deposited in my account. The application that you have to download is also very user friendly. I loved how simple the process was and continued to be until the end.

Upgrade Bank is one of the worst banks out there - do not take the risk of banking here. Very very limited capabilities here - have lost over $4000 due to incompetence at this bank. Run as fast as you can.

When you need a loan, they are very fast to add the money to your account. Paid off some high interest loans. Had my money in three days. It took only about 5 minutes to know that the money was on the way. Thanks to all who worked on my loan.

We opened new accounts with Upgrade. While setting up our autopay upgrade froze our accounts and wouldn’t allow any access to all of our money for over 3 weeks. Called numerous times and couldn’t get an answer on what was going on.

I do not recommend doing it unless you are in a really desperate position. They offer it as a loan but it is really a credit card with “Very High” interest rates. If you miss a payment they will immediately report it to credit bureau and they will sell the credit debt to a third party.

Just closed the "credit card" I had with them (never used; astronomical interest rate). Still have a personal loan. Tried to change my mailing address after I recently moved (phone number and email are the same). They wanted a copy of my lease, DL, and a photo of me holding up a document with my account info sent to them through email. I said no, so they are refusing to change my mailing address. Almost 60 yo, have never had such a stupid request from a "bank" to update my mailing address. Plus, customer service folks are rude. Time to look into refinancing that loan.

They said I was pre approved for the loan. When I filled out the application, they denied me with a fico score of 700s. All they did is take points off Credit. Definitely would not recommend this company.

I took out a "home improvement loan" to replace windows. It is not an installment loan. It is, in fact, a revolving account with a fixed rate and fixed term. Why does this matter you may ask. Your credit report will suffer because the "loan" will be posted to your credit report as a maxed out Line of Credit. It looks the same as a credit card that has max utilization.

I'm writing this review in the hopes that I can educate folks to not make the same mistakes I did with Upgrade. They offer a product called the Upgrade Cash Rewards Visa (or something close), only it's not a credit card in any way. It's a series of payday loans advertised as a credit card, some have reviewed it online as a personal loan, but it's not, it's payday loans. First thing to get out of the way, I should have read the agreements a lot more carefully and realized the card was a scam, I didn't, shame on me. However, I'm shocked that someone at any financial regulatory organization would allow this to be called a credit card. It's not, it's micro payday loans, let me explain... First, it's not revolving to the consumer. It's revolving for Upgrade which is where you, as the consumer, get ripped off.

Do not trust Upgrade with your money! My account was suspended for suspicion of unusual activity, but no one can specify what the activity is, and all transactions I can see were authorized by me. It has been four weeks, and I still cannot access my funds. Initially, I was informed it would take up to 30 days, but now they are suggesting a timeframe of 30-45 days without any assurance that this won’t continue to extend. They are holding my money hostage without providing an explanation or remedy, and I am now compelled to seek legal advice to access my own money. Do not bank with them!

They are easy to follow; they guide you through every step. Your loan is disbursed within two or three business days. They directly deposit it into your bank account. Everything went smoothly, so they followed up with you to inquire about how things were going. Following the loans, they check up on you.

I was a victim of identity theft, the perpetrator used my identity to open up two accounts and made payments like it they were his accounts. This caused the accounts to be charged off on my credit reports and damaging the credit that I worked hard to establish. They caused me a bunch of mental issues, I lost my employment opportunities because of them and their antics. I got evicted from my apartment, lost my car, I have no money, no family, friends or financial support. I have explained this to them several times nicely, they only seem to understand anger and frustration not even that fazes them. I have promised to sue them not threaten them but I have not been able to seek counsel to take my case and I want this resolved asap. Please do not apply for any loans or credit cards with this company. They will take advantage and lie to you constantly. Please take my situation as a lesson and do not trust them or anything else with them.

Decided to reply to a mail offer and try the one card with checking plus for a $200 bonus. Opened accounts, made the 3 debit card purchases, have direct deposited over $7500, 3 months later I have spent close to 6 hours on 4 different customer service calls, still have not received the 200 bonus, currently they request 2 additional weeks to have a back office review my transactions to see if I qualify. I have filed a fraud complaint with the FTC.

I started using Upgrade as a loan server back in 2021 to cover an unexpected car repair. At first, I was thrilled at how quick and easy the process is. To be fair, it still lives up to that. I was able to get approved and money in my pocket in a couple days. Very easy experience. Even into the payoff period, the website is very easy to use. It's very clean and orderly. Unfortunately, I noticed that my first payment wasn't being taken. I'd scheduled my payment, but nothing was charged. I called customer service and they were very rude to me. I felt very belittled. Eventually the due date passed and I was contacted daily by them to collect payments. My outstanding scheduled payment in the past remained on the clean, modern dashboard. "Your method of payment will be charged 32 days ago..." The following month they took my payment and reported me as 30 days delinquent.

The loan process was fast and easy. Everything was done online, and the instructions were simple and easy to follow. The cash arrived quickly, within a day or two, into my account. I would recommend Upgrade to a friend. Everything you need to manage your account, can be accessed through the app.

I did some research on them and they seemed like a reliable organization. They asked a few questions and I did end up speaking with a very nice guy. I was approved within no time and the money was deposited into my checking account within a few days. I have paid off the bills that were bothering me - what a pleasure. I found the process so easy and I was able to get a personal loan pay off my credit cards and now I pay less per month and will have it paid off quick. I would absolutely recommend Upgrade to everyone I know. When I applied for a loan, Upgrade was very straightforward about what information they needed and made it very easy and convenient to be able to get it to them. Upgrade reduced my credit limit by more than $1500, which was $750 less than my current balance, causing me to exceed my limit. I contacted Upgrade several times to get this issue reversed, but they declined. I highlighted that I consistently made timely payments and paid the total amount every time, which applies to my credit accounts with Upgrade and all my other accounts.

Upgrade was fantastic to work with UNTIL I did a balance transfer of my remaining balance to another lender for 0%. They punished me for paying off my balance early. I had a $10,000 line of credit with them that I used for projects (I'm a house flipper). I had a balance of about $7,000 from a previous project on this LOC. Because I was planning to start another project I transferred this balance to another card that I had with a 0% balance transfer rate. I did this purposely so that I could use the full $10,000 from Upgrade for my new project. But Upgrade almost immediately REDUCED MY LINE OF CREDIT TO $3,000! I couldn't believe it.

My experience with Upgrade was seamless and QUICK! Within a matter of days, my credit cards were paid and the remaining balance was in my personal account. Every customer service representative I spoke with was professional, knowledgeable and friendly. The only issue I came across was when I uploaded the requested documents, the site did not acknowledge they were uploaded.

My rewards checking and premier savings accounts were suspended without any info. My debit card attached to rewards checking account also frozen. I called customer service and they said my accounts were under investigation by the back office without providing any further information. I’m unable to access my funds or make any transfers.

I applied for a loan through Upgrade and had nothing but negative experiences. The loan was not approved in the timeframe they claimed it would be, and once approved, the money did not arrive. When I called to check on the holdup, my request was canceled, so I had to go back through the application process again. Rather than the few days the company claimed to take to fulfill the loan, it took nearly a month, which led to more fees and fines from the accounts it was supposed to be paying.

I've used Upgrade in the past and they have never let me down. Decent rates and lengths of time to pay loan back. Will definitely recommend to anyone that needs a loan or a way to consolidate debt. I wasn't told upfront about the penalty that is subtracted from your loan amount. I was expecting 13,000 to be deposited into my account but instead I received 11,600!!! I was a completely shocked, and I still have to pay the full amount of 13,000 plus interest, I definitely would've reconsidered moving forward had I known this large amount would be subtracted from my loan amount, I could've looked into a home equity loan at my bank, with zero hidden fees. Therefore, I will pay this 13,000 plus interest back as soon as possible and close my account! In the future train your representatives to tell the customer upfront the trap they are signing up for! :-(

The loan application was a very easy process and I received the funds I needed in a quick and timely manner. Part of the funds went directly to the credit card and part of it went to my bank account. The loans were paid off in September. The balance been "O" for over a month. The worst company I have ever dealt with. They will give you nothing but excuses. I want to give them no star because that's what they deserve. The customer service? What a joke. I file a dispute with a credit bureau and they still on my credit like I owe them money. They will illegally run your credit and if goes down they will lower your credit limit with Upgrade. How there they say that the information is accurate on my account to the credit bureau.? I cannot wait to see another lame excuse from them. Stay away. Save yourself a headache.

Upgrade has been a god sent… Very easy process. Everything done online in a timely manner. Reddit score is not the best but definitely not the worst and rebuilding with the help of upgrade even thinking about refinancing my car with them. I have been recommending them to everyone. If you haven’t tried them you should better interest rates than any other company and again very easy and simple and quick process.

I got a line of credit to go to school and everything has gone fine until this year when they keep lowering my credit limit as a big thank you for making every payment on time. They appear to lower it after every payment. Not all credit cards utilize this very frustrating and unfair practice. Only thing that was frustrating was the pic with account number. I had to take several photos by myself and it was very difficult to include arm that held paper.
