Regions Bank management still does not understand the time of transactions (!) & who is in possession of said funds! They charged me NSF fees (over $500) and their reason was they needed to verify funds. The funds in question have been verified by the USA Treasury; I deposited cash before I used my Visa! Then a deposit of $300 cash was never deposited. It got lost and I'm out the $300 that I saw go into their ATM! I am trying to sue them for false statements and punitive damages for reporting false information, stealing (NSF when it was in their possession in Regions Bank) and the right of innocence until proven not! They can't since the time of deposits were in "their possession" before the time of Visa and ATM transactions!

Mind you, we are talking about transactions less than $20, gas $8, ice $2.35, $15.00, etc. After dealing with bank managers, local and for the area, they said, "Get in line to sue if you want to." We will continue to do banking in the way of withdrawing transactions before depositing transactions. Regions is not a bank! It's a scam! I define a bank as a company that holds funds and releases funds "when I ask to do so." They have treated me rudely and dropped my calls, transfer me back to their main line to start all over again. This has happened countless times since the merger with AM South. Regions is the poorest quality run company I have ever had the misfortune of ever having the displeasure of ever banking with! Thank you, Consumer Affairs! I wish you had as much clout with banks as the USA treasury and the NICA.

The Regions website is pathetic. It is the most convoluted, confusing, and useless website I have ever seen. This is close to a joke. One example...they still require signing in with your SS#...with hyphens of course. There is nothing useful about it.

I was told by the accounting dept that they will put through the largest withdrawal first and then put through everything else so they can charge the overdraft fee. My check is deposited on Friday and the money is available after Midnight on Friday. I know exactly how much I spend and I always come up overdraft. I have complained to everyone who will listen.

On one occasion I was withdrawing $300.00 out of my account using the ATM machine located at the bank. All I got was $20.00. They made me wait 2 weeks to get the $280.00 that was deducted from my account. They took all that for overdraft charges when it was their fault. I received a letter threatening to close my account because I was over the limit of what they allow, I checked my account on the date they say I was overdraft and I was in the plus. If I was overdraft it should have been about $317.00, they said it was $614. There is no way, but yet they won't tell me where the charges came from. This was on 12/22/08.

I have a car loan through Regions Bank (started out as Amsouth). My payment is due on the 10th of each month. There is a grace period of 10 days and I usually pay it around the 15th. Each month without fail, I start getting calls, sometimes several a day, on the 12th. When they ask me why it is late, I tell them their 10-day grace period policy. They seem offended and are extremely rude with me. Even though there is a grace period, they have charged several late charges to my account and will not remove them. We also had a checking account with them and we closed it two years ago.

This year we received a bill for $30.00 for a maintenance fee for our revolving credit account (overdraft protection attached to the checking account). I ignored it since I knew we had closed it two years ago. I eventually paid it to get them off my back but they reported me to the credit bureaus and put a mark on my credit report. I reported them to Creditreport.com and it was taken off all three agencies reports. I received a check this past week for $30.00 from Regions. I will never do business with Regions bank again. I do not see how they stay in business with the tactics they use. After reading all these reviews, I don't see why someone has not done a joint lawsuit against them. Shame. Shame on you, Regions Bank.

Regions is a rip off. I made purchases using my Debit card. I check my account every day to make sure everything has come out and everything that's pending. There's money to cover it. Well, I purchase items about two weeks ago and today she tell me it just posted which cause me to go into o/d of $245.00. I know it doesn't take an item that long to post so I guess they wait until your account is low so they can send it through to make their money. I hate this bank and the reps are very rude as if they just don't want to be bother...

This is to anyone wanting to open an account in Regions Bank. STAY FAR AWAY!!!? Their customer service is the worst. They do not offer 24/7 customer service. They do not want to work with the client in any given situation. They say they made a profit this year. It really comes down to fee-ing the clients to death. They are not perfect, yet they expect you to be. They want to fee you for everything. I will give you a situation I came across. My account was short 79 cents and for this reason I was charged $35. I spoke with one of the Supervisors by the name of Joyce **, and she could care less for my situation. She told me, "You made the mistake so pay for your mistake. We are not here to help. Your calculations were wrong so we will not help." If management feels this way, I see why the employees could care less. Stay away. Very far!!!

I have been a Regions (apparently now AmSouth) customer for approx. 10 years or so and when Regions was REGIONS, I just loved that bank. However, since they took over AmSouth they have adapted every lousy stinking AmSouth policy, as many of you are very well aware of. One of the first policies they changed was the 2 pm cut-off. It used to be with Regions that as long as a deposit was made before 5 pm that it automatically went in that day, be it check or cash. However, when they changed it to 2 pm, they did not let their customers know about this and many, including myself, ended up with overdrafts. When I questioned this, I was told that "we can change our practices at any time" and that "we have it posted in all of the banks".

I then went to nearly all of the banks in Huntsville, AL to find these postings and could not. I did finally however, find a notice posted on one teller window on the other side of town. The notice was posted on a piece of paper (cardboard) that was about 1 1/2 inches wide and approx. 7 inches long. The background was BLACK and the tiny text was GOLD in color. This black and gold piece of paper was posted in the corner of a tinted teller window. Even LOOKING for it, I could barely see it as it just blended right in.

That was a very sneaky business practice, but then again just think of how many customers have had to pay overdraft fees because of their change in policy? Because of a "pending" auto payment and do to them paying out funds in order from LARGER to smaller and not in order they were WRITTEN, I ended up with 2 rounds of overdraft fees. One for $68.00 and another for $195.00. The 2nd set of OD's were BECAUSE of the first. The person I spoke with in one of the offices inside the bank dropped the $68.00 OD but took nothing off of the $195.00.

I was very upset about this and had mentioned it to a teller that I had dealt with most of the time. One that did not have the material posted on her window as there was no material posted in my branch at all. She had informed me that the tellers were always told to "TAKE THEM OUT OF THE WINDOW". Was this a shady, sneaky practice or what? Apparently they were in the business to rack up as many overdrafts as possible. I considered that to be "THEFT BY DECEPTION", as they were being very, very deceitful about the change in policy.

I was going to close my account, but Regions is the only bank that's close to my house, my job and my daughter's school. As money is very, very tight and I have to plan all of my trips, I simply cannot afford to drive to a bank that is further away. I see a lot of people on your forums saying to "not spend money you don't have", etc., etc. But I, like many, HAVE to spend money that I SHOULD HAVE available as my bills will not wait until THEY decide to release my funds. If I put a payroll check in on Wednesday, then I do EXPECT to be able to pay a bill on Thursday. I feel that so long as I remember that they SUCK and will sock it to you any chance they get and be sure to play by the rules, and not spend any of my money until THEY decide I can, then I will be okay. But every now and then they still get me. REGsouth SUCKS!!!!

I recently deposited a large check @ Regions Bank. I had an existing account (a DBA) and was told it would be better to open a personal account, which I did. With the funds of the check I wanted to obtain a CD put $10,000 in savings, $5,000 in my existing DBA account, and the rest ($15507) in checking. The person I dealt with said a hold would be put on check, to which I said I needed some of the funds immediately, and they were always putting holds on my checks and I was getting tired of it. I had deposited several checks from same source in the past and so has my Father. We are employed by same company and use the same bank, which makes them very familiar w/the checks.

Another associate agreed to sign off on check and made the funds available, transferring the funds to my DBA account, savings, and new checking. I was told there was no hold on check and all funds were available. I was also told that if there was a problem I would be contacted by telephone (I was never contacted). A few days later after receiving my ATM card, I tried to make a withdrawal w/ card to activate it. Insufficient funds flashed on screen. I contacted Bank and was told a hold had been placed on check by back office probably due to fact my DBA account was overdrawn. It wasn't overdrawn when this all started but payments made after $5000 was supposedly transferred to it had placed it overdrawn.

My statement on new checking account did show -$20,000 it now shows -$11,130 over $8000 have disappeared. My DBA is still overdrawn, nothing is showing in savings which was supposed to be available to cover checking account. I was told they were looking into it, but I would be liable for overdraft charges. Over the years many times my account has been charged overdraft charges when I thought there were funds available. The way Regions holds checks back does not post deposits and runs checks through when account is low makes it physically impossible to balance account. One thing it does do is create enormous revenue for Regions Bank, because they have millions of customers and I'm sure this happens w/ most of them. It also cause enormous stress and aggravation for the lives and families it impacts. This does it for me, I'm going in! It's not going to be pretty. I doubt I get satisfaction without court system, which is to their advantage, so I'll probably withdraw what I have left and go elsewhere.

Earlier this month, five pending transactions hit my account and NONE of them were authorized. NONE of them went through, but because I was close to $0 balance and went overdrawn just because of the pending transactions, I was charged $70 in NSF fees. Regions gave me a credit for one, but would not credit the other. Just this week, I had two transactions in pending that I had money to cover. A third put me over my balance. These transactions were authorized and I felt the $35 fee was warranted. However, now they are charging me $35 fee for the other two transactions that were there first. So, even though I had money to cover two, because the third went through first and already incurred a fee causing me to go overdrawn again, the other two are now going to get charged. In total for this month, Regions has charged me $105 in fees that they shouldn't have. I am done with them. I'm going back to my credit union.

My wife and I with our 3 children recently moved. Before doing so, being so close to the end of the month, meaning the 1st of the month was right around the corner, we carefully budgeted ourselves for this move, so we wouldn't cut ourselves short for the 1st of the month. Every penny at this point counted therefore we counted each. Not knowing at the time Regions was too (For their own purpose). Here it is the 31st, my direct deposit posted today, we were supposedly still doing good (by our records) the 1st is looking better than we thought. I get online to go on with my reconciliation of the month, budget the upcoming month, when lo and behold my account is negative $51.00.

When my direct deposit went through, I was negative $560 and some change. I couldn't believe it. Screamed for my wife - (her being a bookkeeper) asked her to review, of course she couldn't make heads or tails of the entire situation not for sure if it was the tears or the shock. She quickly grabs the calculator goes through our records - then the online register - then prints out a bank statement. Back on the 22nd of Oct, Regions charged us $105 in NSF when we had a positive of $14.99. Granted we knew it was going to be low. On the 23rd a debit charge of $9.03 was posted and yet another $35 NSF was charged. On the 24th my Direct Deposit was posted, and the negative was with drawn. Now on the 28th, I was charged $280 in NSF then on the 29th another $70 in NSF and on the 30th yet another $70 in NSF!!!

I am not a rich person, my wife and I happily live just a little better than pay check to pay check, but only by sticking to our budget. My entire paycheck for one week went straight to NSF which clearly snowballed only because of the $105 in the beginning. So my wife and I, race to the bank before they closed. Make it (my wife is fired up with foot tapping - when she gets like this she usually doesn't give in so I thought, "I sure wouldn't want to be that teller). We get in the bank, my wife whips right past the tellers and straight to an office, tells the lady our situation and wants her to review our account.

The lady does, and then explains that it was pending charges, and we should pay extra special attention to those pending charges. My wife left her no way out, explaining how good you charge NSF on a positive balance. The woman does not proceed past pending charges. My wife explains that when the $105 was applied that our negative was only $90. So that itself shows their mistake. But nope the woman is still blaming us and pending charges. Now I do not have any money at all. I am outstanding $51 to Regions, with 2 other checks coming through. My records show I should have $667 to the good. I worked an entire week for nothing. Only to pay Regions who is suppose to be working for my money.

There has to be something legally we can do. But how can we afford it now? I have no money for food for my children, and not for sure how I can even afford to get to work for a week. Not to mention the bills that are due on the 1st. I am closing my account this is for certain. I am going to see the Branch Manager Monday, I will get my money back so sort of way. I have to. My family will not survive!!!

I was paid for a small construction remodel job by a client with a check drawn on Regions Bank. When I went to Regions to cash it, the teller told me she was going to withhold five dollars because I did not have a account there. I refused to allow her to do so, the branch manger ordered me out of line. When I refused to step aside, they called the police who escorted me out of the bank. I have sat in the conference room of that bank building for years, closing loans on homes that my company has built in this community. I believe that Regions is the third or fourth bank to be in that building. My point, I've been here longer than they have and God willing will be here long after they're gone. A loan officer with Regions told me the following week that that is their way of getting new accounts. They tell the customer if they will take a few moments to open a checking account, they will cash their checks at no extra charge.

I have had this terrible situation happen to me three times since the regions/am south merge! It had never happened before! I have been a regions customer for about 10 years or more. I have had three different occasions where regions has taken several of my debit transactions and held them until a transaction came through that would put me in the negative. At that point...I was charged $210.00 in overdraft fees for all of the debits when there was enough money in my account to cover all of them except the last one. I have had this happen to me three different times.

Each time I contacted regions to find out why they were holding my debits. They said they are not. They said debits are processed in real time. If that was the case...Then the first five transactions would have been covered. Then I was told that the merchants do not process the debits. That is untrue. I contacted one of the merchants that I had done one of the debits with. How can it be possible to have $468.00 in your account. You use your card five times using $400.00, then you make a mistake and use your card again for a $70.00 purchase...yet instead of being charged one overdraft fee...you're charged six overdraft fees.

They are holding debits until your available balance is overdrawn and then say that your available balance was not enough to pay any of the debits. Then on top of that...The transactions were done over the weekend...so I made a deposit over the weekend. My deposit should have been processed first, but wasn't. This whole situation should have not happend. They are just robbing their customers.

The consequence of this for me is just that my bank that I've done business with for years has taken money from me that I didn't have. They have lost my respect completely and I fully intend to close my account. I also would not reccommend them to anyone else...ever!

Hey guys I am a former employee of Regions bank. When I filled out my application and went on the interview it seemed like a very good company and there were many opportunities. Well everyything isn't as it seems, it is true about the overdraft limit and Regions do not like to refund fees and most of the time the associates cannot waive fees, you have to speak with a supervison who probably is not going to be around if you were to ask to speak to one. I worked in the call center/ cooperate office. There were so many things that I've seen and I am a positive person which means I surround myself arround positive things.

Regions is losing so many customers per day. Regions Cooperate office are filled with racist individuals and hate to see some acheive and accomplish a goal that doesn't have anything to do with the company. I had a young supervisor and a young manager that didn't care about anything and when a company has those type of people working for them there is a need for the customers to be concerned. When I was hired I was told that I would be able to go back to school with no problem.

When it came it for the semester to start they would not adjust my schedule and told me that school isn't for everyone. The time that I was employed there I developed this sharp pain in my stomach and in my back, I was back and forth to the hospital and used up all my sick time in a period of 3 months. My doctor then came to the conclusion that whatever or whoever was causing so much stress I needed to let go. I went into a meeting with the manager of the call center and she tells me that my sick time is inconsistant.

I then told her that if she wanted to speak on inconsistancy lets talk about how I would get wrote up when I car pool with my neighbor for being late but my neighbor never was written up. She then changed the subject and said that if I wantted to go to school they would do whatever it takes so that they may accomendate me. This has been the worse experience I have ever experienced and will not encourage any one to even open an account there. I believe in loyality and regions is not loyal to their customers or employees. That place was a total disaster so one day I just up and quit.

Regions Bank is using what they claim is a consumer feature called a 'Overdraft Limit' that pays incoming charges no matter your account balance. It will pay up to $500 in charges after your account is overdrawn. Regions is charging consumers anywhere from $33 to $35 for each paid item under the 'Overdraft Limit' feature.

This feature should not be confused with Overdraft Protection. Overdraft Protection is a feature that links accounts for overdraft coverage. Service Reps make this confusing by trying to tell you there is no 'Overdraft Protection' feature on your account, but not tell you of the 'Overdraft Limit' feature. You can have the 'Overdraft Limit' feature removed from your account, but the customer service rep at the 800 number will tell you that it can take 3 to 10 days to remove. This is untrue. Your local branch can remove it immediately. Regions is purposely hiding this fact.

Additionally REGIONS BANK WILL RE-APPLY THIS FEATURE TO YOUR ACCOUNT AFTER 30 DAYS WITHOUT NOTICE IF YOUR ACCOUNT IS IN GOOD STANDING AND NOT OVERDRAWN! We believe this is a strategic attempt to gain fees from you in the future. We also believe that this action may be construed as fraudulent if a complaint were to be made at the County level (lawsuit).

We were told 'off the record' by certain Regions employees that this is a fee strategy handed down from the upper level leaders of the bank. Furthermore, certain employees have given us private email addresses to let them know how our complaint with the state turns out as they are also frustrated with consumer complaints. Regions Bank has crossed the line between ethics and greed.

I opened a checking account and Orrin sent my book of checks to my old address. He stated that he had to change my account to keep anyone from using my checks. My payroll auto-deposit went back to VA instead of being deposited into the bank account set up by Orrin. My bills were mailed to come out on or after the date of my payroll deposit. They all bounced with late fees, return fees, and my checks wouldn't be accepted by my creditors. (The reason for getting the account was to pay bills easier than going to get money orders all the time).

While the bank slowly responded by removing their NSF charges against me for their mistake, they were very slow to refund any fees that I incurred. Furthermore, they didn't honor the checks written and I have had to borrow against my paycheck using payday loan services that have cost me $60/every 2 weeks since 03/28/08 until now, as well as, moneygram fees to creditors who would not wait on the bank to figure out if they'd refund me or not. My payments were to my dentist, who I don't go to see anymore since the check wasn't honored by Regions, to my car loan holder, who allows no time for late payments, but would repossess my car given the chance, and to my rent managers, who showed no mercy and will not accept any checks from me.

I've suffered stress, loss of time going to the bank, gas fees from running around for loan offices, money orders/moneygrams, and the great loss of money just to keep my debts current from the initial mistake of Regions Bank who sent my check back to my employer. The amount of $70 was the only reimbursement stated that would be given for NSF check fees assessed by my creditors were refunded. This amount is rediculously low compared to the $60/every 2 weeks that I've lost while attempting to help myself recover from the banks mistake in not allowing my payroll check to go through so my checks would clear by 12N on 03/28/08 or 03/29/08.

$488.60 plus gas expenses, time, and stress as of 07/04/08 have been lost besides the $70 dollars the bank states they repaid me in my account.

This bank possibly has the worst customer service I've ever experienced anywhere. They "absorbed" the bank I was doing business with (this is a business checking account)they also wound up buying two mortgages and two loans that I had with other banks. (I am getting ready to cough up the money to refinance my mortgages to get away, if that tells you anything) I do business with multiple banks and none of them have the problmes that this bank does. First, they were applying all of the monthly payments to one of my mortgages to "principle". I regularly pay extra on the principle, but they failed to post against the regular amount due.

So in three months I get a foreclosure notice from their attorney. I mailed the attorney my canceled checks and said, see you in court. I sent certified letters to every member of the board, to the general counsel, and to their CPA firm. I get not any response at all. The only way I ever finally resolved it was that a friend knew personally a branch manager in another city - I had to drive there, take all my records and then write them a check for the whole amount they showed due (to prove that I wasn't destitute and trying to rip them off) and he actually went to the trouble to find out that they had in fact made a mistake.

It took 3 more months to correct that and all the credit reporting and I had to mail my payments to him directly to post. No one even so much as said "sorry." When I pay my stuff now, which I do in person to make sure they don't screw it up, I get all kinds of stupid responses from tellers who do not know how to post a mortgage plus principle payment. Now I close the business account. The next day they transfer money back out of a money market account (yes, I'm fixing to move that too) and reopen the closed account so they can debit it for $60 worth of analysis fees for an account that has been unused for 30 days so they aren't entitled to the fees anyway. They transfer $100, so now there is a $50 balance they will I am sure, try to get analysis fees on next time. They claim that the analysis fees were charged on the 12th before I closed the account, which is of course impossible because I closed the account on the 12th. They say that the closure didn't happen until the 13th, of course my paperwork says it happened on the 12th and those fees were not on the account when it was closed. They tried to say I closed the account after 2 pm, but the time stamp clearly reads 1:37 p.m. Best of all, they try to pretend that they did what they were supposed to do, use overdraft protection to transfer money into a closed account to collect bank fees that were not supposed to be collected.

DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS BANK! There are a million places that you can get free checking and any service you want and they don't cheat, screw up or if they do, they apologize and treat you like they want your business. In more than 30 years of business I have never been more outraged by the business practices of any establishment than I have with this bank.

Regions Bank has decided to place 3 day holds on ALL deposits including Social Security and Stimulius Checks resulting in me losing out on around $2000! My husbands SS Disabilty check goes to my business account and they ate it up in NSF fees. Today I got a NSF notice from a check they bounced 10 days ago stating my balance was 754.oo and a non check debit was presented for $20 and it was paid however I was charged $36 for doing so.AGo figure.

they have NEVER done this before an dI deposit money almost daily like I said it is a business account. They also sent me a notice saying they paid a check and charged me $36 and it was returned. In the short they beat me out of $2000 I have no money to pay for my sick husband's medication as he only has Medicare part A and I don't know what to do! They gave no written notification that they were changing this policy and they need to be stopped. I took what money i had left and went to a new bank that doesn't do that. Someone needs to regulate these banks as they are robbing us poorer people blind!

I had a positive balance in my account. No worries. I went to the grocery store, again no problem I had the money. I got home that night and totalled up what I'd spent. When all my monthly transaction would go through I was going to come up short so I went online and made a transfer from one account to the next. Apparently Regions has a policy I was unaware of. Supposedly if you transfer money online it shows immediately. Well with the debit card transactions I had they placed a hold on my account and took the money out of my account in theory but not on paper so I was showing a positive balance plus my deposit and went on about my business.

Two days later I'm depositing more money so I could write a check for my kids' daycare and the teller told me I was overdrawn by $253. I almost had heart failure. On my statement and the teller themselves couldn't explain it since I always showed a positive balance. They said it must be that I used my debit card and they held funds out and deducted the actual transactions after that. I have been depositing $400 a day trying to get ahead of this mess as we were in the middle of moving and I'd originally deposited about $4000 to cover my moving expenses. So far this week I've deposited $1200 had $600 in transactions but I've had to pay $610 in NSF charges and I'm still overdrawn and more checks are going to be coming through. This is a staggering amount and I don't know what I'm going to do.

I yelled at a women in Regions the other day that this is like paying for each transaction four times. She said no I only paid for my transactions once but all my NSF I owed them once so its fair. Is it fair to have a positive balance never get overdrawn and see out of nowhere $610 of NSF fees pop up and cause your account to be overdrawn. I never got overdrawn the NSF fees are what caused the account to be overdrawn.

I've never in my life had as much trouble as I've had with a bank as I've had with Regions. I do work in finance and the banking industry and I used to work for a bank that was bought out by Regions. I have to work with many different accounts and banks and Regions is the only one I've ever seen this type of stuff with and I've seen this same thing with three different customers and now it has happened to me. When I saw it with other people I kept thinking it must be some glitch on their part. Not so.

Um, well I have a special needs child and I had to forgo his medication this week. I haven't been able to grocery shop since last week. Tempers are at boiling points in my home. I couldn't even give my child lunch money this morning and found a pack of peanuts for him to eat in the cupboard. We moved Sunday so I have no food in the house. We are all in a panic. We basically can't live until this is fixed and Regions refuses to even meet me halfway. They allowed me a refund of $70 of the $610 they took.

I will preface this complaint by saying, I am probably one of, if not THE worst manager of money you'll ever meet. But I know when a business practice is not fair to the consumer / customer.

About a month ago I began a new job. My new employer had to go through the standard procedure of setting up direct deposit. Therefore, the first check was a "live" check and was a couple days later in the mail than I anticipated. I had gone almost a month without a paycheck and my account was in the negative. It was on a Friday. I was supposed to be in Kansas City, MO on the following Monday for a business meeting. I was going to have to use my debit card for hotel and trip expenses.

When I went to deposit the check, I asked a couple questions about the availability of the funds, etc. Because my account had been over-drawn for more than 20 days a "No Post" had been placed on my account, which meant, it would be 5 days before I would have access to the funds. So I took the check back and went and paid 5% of the amount of the check to have it cashed, so I could go back and deposit cash into the account. Well, I was informed that it didn't matter if I deposited cash or check, I STILL wouldn't have access to the funds until the next Wednesday. I was screwed. I kept all the cash and managed to get through the trip to KC.

THEN, two weeks later, my employer unfortunately hadn't got the direct deposit right yet, I get another "live" check. I deposited it this time, funds were available the next business day, all was good. I used my debit card over the weekend, several times, 12 to be exact, gas, food, electric bill. I watched 12 transactions post to my account through the following Monday and deduct against my available balance. On Tuesday night, my house note posted, I was short about $100.00 to cover the house note. But THE BANK decided that it was in my best interest if they PAID the house note. Well, that's good. I have other banks cover a check before, but I've never had a bank cover the BIGGER check and then consider the other 12 transactions as secondary, and charge NSF Fees for those 12. Other banks charged me for the ONE check that posted when there wasn't enough money in the account, but I've never had a bank prioritize transactions in that manner, because it's what THEY think is best for the customer. 12 NSF Fees was $420.00. $420.00 ya'll. And a couple days later some debit activitiy for $6.00 cleared and they dinged me another NSF which put me in the negative about $500.00.

Well, as luck would have it, it's been almost four weeks since that all happened. This paycheck, direct deposit worked. Funds were electronically transferred into my account from my employer's account last night. I can see the money, it's there. But I can't touch it . . . FOR FIVE DAYS! I can't even get out enough money for gas, because the account was overdrawn for more than 20 days, BECAUSE REGIONS BANK MADE A FINANCIAL DECISION ON MY BEHALF, "IN MY BEST INTEREST" AND DINGED ME WITH 12 NSF FEES $420.00. I wouldn't have been overdrawn for 20 or more days, if they hadn't made that decision for me. But, they had my best interest in mind when they did it so I should be grateful? I don't think so.

Because I have had several NSF Fees on my account over the years, they won't budge on giving me the money back. One branch manager pulled out a check ledger and started explaining how to balance a check book . . . I had to just walk away . . .

No other bank that I know of does this. Even the Customer Service girl that I spoke with told me that she has worked for other banks and to her knowlege Regions is the only one that "Prioritizes" transaction, in the best interest of the customer . . . from their perspective!

That sums up what the manager of my Regions did for me. $500 a month in overdraft charges over this three month period. It seems there is a "posting" and a "cleared" colum, only the don't tell you which one you are looking at. Most transactions were less than $5, and the profit to about $35 service charge on Each transaction. But here is a twist. They switch and stack the deck of charges at will. I have seen the dates and transactions chang in order and date. Regions is not for us.

Shop around. You will find a better one.

I am out $975.00 cash! These day with everything going up so much, I don't know what to do. I can't afford for the bank to lose that kind of money. I have banked there for years and never had any trouble, but since Regions took over it seems things are going to be different. I just ask for everyone to pray for a miracle.

As of today 25 March I have NSF fee(s) due to no money in my account despite my check clearing two days ago. I'd really like this rectified after all I love Regions just not all the ripping people off methods. Thank you

I sat down and cried like a baby...I am so frustrated about this Bank. Monday I am going in and closing my account.

I am on disability from social security with no other means of living. Not sure how i will make ends meet this month. I wonder how many others have the same situation as I do.

On the day before my automatic deposit posted, I had a very low positive balance ($7.65) and a $30 pending transaction. I was charged an ISF fee of $62. When I called to find out why, I was told that the pending transaction was deducted from my available balance, which made 2 very small transactions ($22.66 and $8.02)incur the INF carged. I was also told that when the $30 check posts that night, I will receive another INS fee. That makes a total of $93 for one pending transaction. It's not right to charge an ISF for a transaction that has already been deducted from your balance especially when deducting it caused 2 additional INF charges.

This particular instance resulted in $93 INF charges when the account balance was positive. I have talked with several people that have had the same issue. Some have been charged more than $300 for overdrafts of less than $15.

Now I went to Region Bank and talked to Ms. Kathie Hubert angain she didn't give me a good understanding why their was checks being held back and why I had so many difference amount of NSF fee's. I received a monetary Christmas gift of $5,000 from my parents. I took it to the bank and they told me that there would be a two week hold placed on the funds because I did not have that much money to cover the check. Ultimately I was charged $400 for overdrafts to my account that would not have happened if my deposit would have been available. I decided to ask my parents to wire the money instead because I couldn't afford the two weeks without our gift. My parents wired the money the next day. I asked to have the charges reversed, but to no avail. To make matters worse, I was belittled in the process. I was even charged a fee to have money wired into my account. There is alot of he said, she said going back and forth, but the outcome was that I did have the money to cover my debits, but I was not allowed access to it.

The bottom line is that I was charged $420 to receive a gift of $5,000. All I want is for the bank to reverse the charges.

Once again, this bank has tried to pull the wool over my eyes. I am in the financial industry and it amazes me that banks are not regulated closely as the fianancial industry, if they were i am sure they would not take advantage of people like they do. I have a credit card since 1994, due to my own negligence, i did not realize they were literally stealing from me on an interest rate.

I called, the young lady did lower, not as much as i wanted so i said i would pay it off and close the account. at that point she came up with a SPECIAL DEAL 2.99 FOR a period of time. so being the fool I am, I accepted. With this in mine, I paid off a higher card, then I paid 500.00 towards my old balance on this card, and made notation on my check. As usual they did not do as I ask, they applied to the 2.99 rate instead. I called, the girl was rude, she said this was disclosed to me on the phone, which it was not. She said it is in the paperwork they sent, probably in their FINE PRINT. I told her I will make a formal complaint, and close the account.

I WILL PAY MORE MONEY TO THEM DUE TO HIGH INTEREST RATE.
