I had made arrangements to make my payment on the 20th. When I went to check my bank account they had removed funds automatically without my consent. I never sign automatic withdrawal nor did I tell Cody or anyone in that company to touch my account. They had told me that they don't keep bank account information. So they lied. It is against the law to do this.

In all of my years I have to say this is ABSOLUTE worst company I have ever dealt with. I financed a vehicle with them and I was in an accident a couple of months later. My car was totaled, the other parties insurance company sent them a check but left me with a balance under $4500. I then got sick tried to make arrangements that was difficult when I got better and back to work started making what I thought were payment arrangements only to continue to get threatening letters. I constantly get conflicting information. It is if the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing. I am currently trying to settle on this small balance and boy are they being extremely difficult. No goof customer service. DO NOT do business with this company. They're beyond shady!

I purchased my 2012 Toyota Camry from Prestige Financial in April of 2014. The payments were outrageously high at $570 with an extremely high interest rate as well but I was in desperate need and didn't have any other options at the time. I paid my car note on time up until 11/2014 as my husband was laid off. They worked with us for a while until this month! They set up a payment arrangement for us to pay on 2/21 but had my car repossessed on 2/12 claiming we didn't respond to their text messages to confirm payment.
The exact wording on the text said "this is to confirm payment of $$$. $$ on 2/21 please contact Prestige if this is NOT correct!" So I call Prestige after they have repoed my car and they go on to say that I was supposed to call them to confirm! Why?? That is not what your text said! And why am I calling to confirm something that was confirmed on 2/4 while I was sitting in my hospital bed recovering from a c section mind you! This company is a rip off and amazing scam artist! DO NOT GET A LOAN WITH THEM! HORRIBLE PEOPLE! HORRIBLE COMPANY!

I hate Prestige Financial. This company will harass the ** out of you for NO reason. I got a car financed through them in 2010. I set up automatic payments. They took the money out 2 days early and over drafted my account so I stopped automatic payments. They call me every month days ahead of my payment, send me texts and emails and even called my references. May I remind you - I'm not late or behind on my loan so I cuss them out terribly until I decided to go ahead and get the automatic payments set up once again. They text me 2 days before my payment was due and I just knew they were confirming I set up the automatic payments so I text back yes. So I'm looking at my bank account online and these ** have took two payments of 399.61 and my account is in the negative of $73. I'm so pissed. I can't wait for them to open up tomorrow. Please if you are looking for a car catch the bus first if you gotta use Prestige. Horrible company - it should be a law against corporations like them.

We originally obtained a loan through this company in May of this year. We only used them due to identity theft issues that had affected our credit since 2001. We let the dealership handle financing and wish now that we have researched who they used! In the beginning, everything was fine. Fast forward 5 months later, I totaled the vehicle in a multi-car accident. Our insurance company paid a very fair amount and we thought that GAP would step in and cover the rest fairly quickly. We've had to use GAP coverage in the past when we totaled a vehicle and never heard anything from anyone due to it being handled quickly. We got another vehicle just days after I totaled this one. GAP hasn't paid off the balance as of today and Prestige is now harassing us every single day. They called originally telling us they would reduce our payment to $130 from $617. We told them that we do not owe them a dime more due to us purchasing GAP coverage when we obtained the loan. It's not our fault that it hasn't been paid off. They're expecting us to make payments on a vehicle that was deemed a total loss over 2 months ago.
They called today, 6 times, the DAY AFTER CHRISTMAS wanting to know why we haven't paid. They also called Christmas Eve! They started calling our references and we only found out when one of them texted saying that Prestige was looking for us. Sarah, the annoying employee that has been calling said it is "protocol" for them to call everyone. She doesn't like talking to me because unlike others, I don't care and will tell you off! They have texted us, called our home phone several times a day, called both of our cellphones and now are calling our references. I mean, you just got A LOT of money from our car insurance company and you are harassing us over $130????? We do not owe this company a dime! That is what GAP IS FOR! Deal with the GAP company! We never had a problem until the accident. Payments were always made at least a week early every month for the 5 months we had the car and now they want to harass us over $130! Sarah even had the nerve to tell me one time that my husband makes 100k a year, so $130 shouldn't be a problem! They can stick their so called reduced payment up their ______! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY, EVER!!!!!

Requested printout of statements for past 3+ years of payments made to Prestige Financial. I was SHOCKED at the THIEF this company literally is! Of my first 6 payments to them, 1st and 3rd had absolutely no money got to the principal balance. All went to interest! A third payment, only allowed $37 into principal and the rest to interest. NO ONE can explain to me how the payments I make are divided and how much is determined to go to the loan and how much goes to the interest! Every payment made has fluctuated even though I have paid the monthly amount on time every time. Totally hate receiving phone calls and text messages days before my payments are due! By the way, still owe more than 2 times what my car is worth! Biggest mistake I have made!

In 2007, I bought a vehicle that was financed through Prestige Financial for $17,000. I was okay with the car, the terms and everything until they told me that my payment was going to be right around $500 a month. My husband was making good money at that time, so I figured, "Why not?". Anyway, my husband ended up getting laid off two weeks later. When I asked Prestige if they would work with me on the payments, they insisted that I was to continue paying the $500 a month. When I stated that we would try, they were okay with it. A couple weeks went by and they continued calling me at least 3 times a week, including my job, and called my family members and references.
A month or so went by and I told Prestige that I was unable to make the payments because we hadn't found a job yet and they told me that they would come get the car and since we only had it for two weeks, that they should be able to sell the vehicle again and make most if not all of their money back. I agreed to that and thought it was all done and said. A few months went by, I got a statement in the mail saying that the vehicle had been sold at a local auction for roughly $12,000 and that the remainder of what was owed on the vehicle would be right around $4726. I figured that it was just going to be something that I would take care of at a later date when we were able to afford it....
Time went on and I completely forgot about the vehicle and when my husband and I went into a lender to try to buy a home just 4 days ago and BAM!! There is a $17,000 charge off on my husbands credit. It says charge off and yet the full balance is right there. When I spoke to my Home Loan Lender, she told me that I needed to speak to an attorney because when she had called Prestige and asked them if they would put a balance of $0 on the account, the woman on the phone said, "NOPE". They reran the charges through my husband's credit again in October of this year even though they already had it as a charge off.
Be cautious...... Laws say that in most states, that a charge off means that they have accepted the fact that they are taking a loss. But if they keep a balance on the account, they can continually run it on your credit. In my circumstances, they have already received the vehicle and resold it yet they are trying to charge me for the full price. SCAM!!!!

Back in 2007 I purchased a car and had prestige as my finance company, I made payments faithfully for over a year and then fell into a hardship. My payments were late but were still made then the harassment started, they didn’t want to hear anything i had to say. Then in 2011 5am in the morning they followed me to my job and repo-ed my car for a whole year after, I never heard a word from them but they tracked me down and found my phone number. I told them i hadn’t heard anything from them, they tried to say they sent out numerous letters and the letters were sent back. When i told the woman to send me copies she sent the envelope front which i noticed had the wrong address on them. When i explained to them that they had been sending them to the wrong place they didn’t want to take fault and they charged me a year’s worth of late fees and finance charges.
I told them i was not paying them cause they were at fault. They sent me a summons that i had to go to court, i had a guy call me and tell me he would halt the court date if i agreed to make payment arrangements. He sent the forms to email, I told him it would take a while cause i had to send them to corporate and have them fill them out and agree to take money out of my check. Well a week later I received a letter that they had gone to court behind my back. At the beginning they were contacting people that i didn’t even know telling them my business and having me call them which that’s pure ignorance so i refused. These people had nothing to do with my business with them, well I’ve moved and once again they tracked me through someone that has nothing to do with me or my business with prestige.
I feel this company needs to be sued and seems by looking at these reviews by a whole bunch of people which they better expect a huge lawsuit and not just by me. About 3 yrs ago they told me i owed 1900. Now they are trying to triple that and i don’t owe that, i will not pay it. For anyone out there that wants to purchase a new car never ever choose prestige financial for your finance company. And btw they are still ignorant and have big attitudes and i found that their statute of limitations has run out, they will get nothing.

Prestige Financial Services, Inc. Salt Lake City, UT (a Larry H. Miller Company, local) holds my auto loan. This company does not follow any of the consumer protection and collection laws. They contact me via text and telephone and even on letters and do not disclose or display the collector's name or provide a return phone number to reach them back. They only say "Prestige Financial calling." My Prestige account representative, JoAnn **, belly laughed one day during a phone conversation saying, "Rene you will never pay this car off."
This company cannot agree on what I actually owe them. I receive calls and texts daily from several people with "different" delinquent amounts due. I performed an audit on my account and I am being charged an interest rate higher than my purchase contract. I have requested on 4 occasions for the company to review the audit I generated, as I show payments made to them that are/have not been credited. I have provided bank statements to substantiate my findings and STILL to date; company still has not and will not review for "remedy" or response. My loan ending balance did not change for one (1) year even though payments were being made. I have negative journal entries on my ledger that I do not understand and company refuses to explain. Standard accounting practices are not being followed with respect to how my payments are applied.
Calls have been made to people that I know "who are not listed on the loan documents as a references". Prestige somehow located and contacted a former boss (a past employer from 22 years prior in Dallas, TX) and stated to him I was not making payments and was delinquent with my loan. Other incorrect statements were made such as they had no contact information for me... demanding he provide this information to them. I assure you that Prestige Financial has all of my contact information. To add insult to injury, my former employer was even asked by the caller if he knew of or had any dirt on me to divulge. The company AGAIN violated federal laws by calling my son's work and threatening employees at his job to "tell" where "Mom's" car was being hid. REPO man is now on my case. I am in process of acquiring an attorney to get some type of rights protection during the settlement of this dispute.

Prestige financial approved a car loan for me (with a high interest rate due to a previous bankruptcy). I have paid my payment for 14 months and ran into an issue this month (my central air unit went out in my home, and we have been having 95-101 degree temps). Repairing my unit ASAP would delay my current payment by 10 days. I also have a 7 week old baby in this home so delaying the repair of the AC unit is not an option. I contacted my account representative to advise him that my payment would be late. I was advise if I didn't at least make a certain portion of my payment in 6 days I will be sent to the legal department. So now I have 6 days to stress out and decide if I allow my family to suffer or die from heat exposure or have transportation to get to work to pay any other bill because they can't wait 4 more days for payment.

I purchased a car after filing bankruptcy and receiving a letter of credit from Prestige Financial. Three months into the agreement I became very ill and could not make the agreed payment. They called me after the time for the payment has passed. My daughter had previously agreed to make the payment for me so I was not aware that they were not paid. When I got the first call from them, I told them about my illness and that my daughter would be making the payment and for the next day they called me about every two hours. Different agents, different numbers but they all had the same threats about what would happen if they did not get paid, even if I had to borrow the money from someone.
Finally I did borrow the money and paid them after talking to the last agent, a woman. She said that I had until the 4th to pay the money, the regular date was the 28th. I would like to give the car back. No one will even refinance because for a Hatchback Nissan Versa the payments is $420.70 per month for 72 months. I was told at the dealership it was $17.000.00 but as prestige agents explain to me that was before they financed the car. It was a Used car, even the new Car do not cost as much but I DID not get the full information. And by the time I became aware of what was going on it was too late. THEY WOULD NOT TAKE THE CAR BACK. I WOULD LIKE TO GIVE IT BACK. I AM UNABLE TO MAKE THE PAYMENTS DUE TO MY HEALTH AND MY OTHER FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITY.

I filed Ch 7 bankruptcy and last year and the day it was finalized in court, I walked into a car dealership to seek financing. I was approved for a loan with Prestige Financial and there did not seem to be a hassle. The finance manager told me that even though there is a high interest rate of 20.5%, I should just make the payments and in about 6 months try to get with a reputable financing agency. I was so desperate for a car that I took the loan and went on. The first payment was due in 45 days and I made it on time. I was not sure why they were giving me "courtesy calls" before the note was even due. This has continued for the entire 7 months that I have had the car now.
I was late on my March payment by two days and they supposedly turned me over to the legal team because they said I was in default of the agreement. They even switched my due date from the 20th of the month to the 4th without my knowledge. When I went online to make my payment I see that I am due the next week. They call and threaten and yell at me. Emailing repeatedly and texting is causing me stress at home and with my family. I do not know what to do, but my credit score has not rebounded enough since November to get financing anywhere else yet. Is there any type of measure that I can put in place to have them stop harassing me?

They kept calling me aggressively and kept adding fees. They said they would pick up the car but they never did. Couple months later I talked to a friend that worked there and told me to do this. She said: "When they call you tell them you have a cease and desist letter and you cannot be contacted any longer about this matter." She also told me to wait until they call again and document the attempts, and to get in touch with a attorney and sue them so that's what I did.
I got to keep the car and they paid for the rest of the loan, and my attorney fees. I also think I got people fired... All this was done in less than 2 months. My attorney said that "these companies know what they are doing is illegal on the way they try to collect money, but you as customer have rights and can strike back if there is enough of us we can stop this company from damaging your life. If you have problems with them, do what I just told you and find legal help. It's available at not cost to you and you get to keep your car."

I called for payoff on 3/24/14 and was told by representative that my payoff is $6,400. This does not include the $3,000 down payment that was made when I purchase the vehicle in 2008. I paid an extra $200 this month hoping to get the principal down.
After talking to representative on 3/24/14, because my due date was on the 4th of every month, even though I called and changed my due date because of my job change and the pay date changed, I was still being charged a fee for my payment being 20 days late for the last two years. We financed a vehicle through Prestige exactly one year ago this month. It has been a nightmare since the very beginning. My payment is a little over $500 a month for a vehicle that is almost ten years old, and while I can appreciate a finance company that lends to people with fair to poor credit, this company by far is the absolute worst, disrespectful, predatory, offensive and abusive. I was out of work due to the death of my little girl and 5 days before the payment was even due they started calling my references, like really my references for god sakes, emailing calling and texting! They do not even give you the opportunity to be late quite honestly and god forbid you do need to be a few days late because of your pay schedule or as in my case a significant life event.
They emailed very threatening and offensive and this occurred after I had already spoke to a rep and arranged a payment which would be exactly 13 days past the due date. I have always kept in contact with my account manager and whenever there was a change I made sure to update my contact info, email info etc, yet that surely does not hold any weight. I'm so depressed and stressed out I am seeking legal recourse, there is nothing right about this company absolutely nothing. I can find no one that speaks good of them and I will try my best to advocate and make other consumers aware so that they will never get another unassuming customer.
They have forgotten that while you finance people with less than perfect credit, you never are fully aware of why that individual was in the circumstance of having credit issues in the first place. Everyone's story and history is unique so why treat anyone in a way as if we need you so we have no choice but to endure the blatant abuse and disregard. I hate hate hate hate Prestige and I swear if they threaten to repo my car that I've never missed a payment on paying all this money for even once making two payments at one time, I'm going to Utah and its going to take the president and Jesus to calm the wrath I will unleash!

I do not let these people get to me and I tell all my references that if and when they do call, hang up on them because they need to learn some manners!!!!! It kills me that they act the way they do when they are only getting paid $10-$12 an hour lol. I'm sure they're not getting bonuses off my measly $465.00 a month when they do get it, lol. But for future reference by all means do not deal with this company and just ignore them. They will eventually stop calling but as a consumer you do have rights and they can be sued just an fyi!

They said they would get the vehicles from them so the storage fees wouldn't add up and on November 7th they retrieve the vehicles from the city of Chicago. Now they refuse to give back the vehicles even though they have all the notes paid in full. So my guess is they are holding the vehicle over my head, but I loss my part-time employment due to not being able to get to work. If they were not giving the vehicle back then should have left it so I could have deal with the situation on my own. I have had a horrible experience with this company from the very beginning!!! I have had to deal with them verbally being abusive! Speaking to me like I was a child and definitely not respectfully! The day my payment was due they started calling back to back leaving messages, text messages as well as emails!! Not to mention calling your references discussing your account status! Trying to embarrassed and humiliate me! I advised my customer service person over my account that I would make my payment at the end of the month due to switching jobs and waiting on my check to be mailed, couldn't give the exact date but explained it would be at the end of the month! They tried to force me to make a date and I told them I couldn't but it would be at the end of the month! I received notification from my bank that my account had been overdrawn. I was quite confused because I knew I had not written a check or used my debit card! Come to find out a manager at Prestige had forced a car payment through without.

And here he goes calling her fussing and cursing at her so I took the phone and fussed him back out and cursed him back out and threatened him to come to SC and see if he wouldn't say those un-nice words to my face in spite of her having surgery. These people take money from us and stole money from us at least like fifteen times. I have the receipts to every payment she has made and I have made even bank records of where they have taken more money out and made us bankrupt. When being forced to use Western Union payment program, it comes through as being late. This week, they really had no choice but to work with me. I kept in contact. They made me feel like low life scum. And per our agreement, they were supposed to run my payment after 12. They called me at 9 am stating the payment declined. I called right back and they say, "Oh, I see the notes. We will try again at noon." I have dealt with this company for 1 year. I had NEVER been late and had never missed a payment (which they will threaten you if you try), so they just hatred you for your monthly payment.
My car payment is due the 25th of each month. My account manager sent me DAILY text messages beginning the 12th of that month up to the date that I paid which it was paid on the 25th. Now, I was shocked, and became angry that they were harassing me for payment two weeks away. Plus, I received daily phone calls. I text the rep and said "No, thank you, I am not ready to make a car payment right now." These people are RUDE, very unprofessional, no patience, no respect, just plain Horrible!!! !
I regret the day I signed my loan with this company! May God help us all who are stuck with this horrible company! This is my single biggest nightmare! One word for Prestige Financial, predators! I sure wish I would have done my homework before getting my car loan through them! I have read page after page after page of complaints about this company, and being a customer of theirs now, I can attest that they are all true 100%. I have also read several rude, ignorant, abusive, insulting and highly stupid responses to anyone speaking badly about this company, and I cannot help but wonder where those defensive comments might be coming from? Hmmm, perhaps the idiot responses are employees of that god-forsaken company. I could care less who you are. Shame on your for defending them! They are a horrible company, and you know it! I can tell anyone reading this stuff if you have not signed on with Prestige Financial yet, don't do it! Walk, ride the bus, hitchhike, ride a bike, crawl, whatever, but do not get a loan with this company. They are horrible!
It's not about paying on time. It goes way beyond that! I do believe they borderline on illegal in their business dealings. I do believe they are 100% a predatory company (preying on those that have bad credit) and they just beat the tar out of their customers. Need I remind them and the people that support them that we, the customers, put food on their tables and clothes on their backs? Should we talk that? Harassment, verbal abuse, zero, and I mean zero tolerance on late payments. If you are late by an hour, they are on you. If you change insurance companies and don't tell them right away (within the hour actually), they catch wind of it, they are on you. They are on you days before the payment is even due! Doing business with people that function like this is insane, and shame on all of us, the customers, for not looking into them more.
A day or two late (because of pay periods whatever) should never be a problem. Weeks or months late is not okay, obviously. These people treat us, the customer, like prisoners in prison. You are trapped, like a rat. It's like Hotel California with them. You can come in but you can never leave! People have sold their cars outright just to get away from them, left the cars on the side of the road, or at the dealership, just to get away from them. True stories! The interest rates are illegal. The amount you pay for a car, any car, is triple what they should be. The housing lenders got nailed for this type of preying on the consumer. Why are these people still in business? Biggest mistake I ever made was signing on with them! Peace!

I was called names, treated very rudely, and even threatened by Prestige account managers that my wages would be garnished (you can't garnish wages I do not earn!) and I would be taken to court. In an attempt to recover some of the money for the vehicle, I contacted a Nissan dealership to see if they would be interested in purchasing the vehicle, therefore, eliminating some of the loss of money from the transaction. The salesman from the dealership called Prestige to inform them of my intent and they called the salesman an idiot.
I cannot for the life of me understand how this company is still in business. Their employees are rude, selfish, argumentative and just plain ridiculous! The dealership offered Prestige $10,000 of the $19,000 that was financed and they refused. They said they would rather let the vehicle go to auction to recover the (non-guaranteed) money than to sell to the dealership. Needless to say, I would imagine this dealership will not be recommending their customers to Prestige ever! Stay as far away from this company as you possibly can! These people called me on the day my payment was due; they didn't give it a chance to be one day late before they started hounding me! When you do go over by one day, they are sending the Calvary out for that payment. They will call anyone who knows you, your mother, father, sister, bro, aunt, uncle, friends, etc. - you name it!
I can understand they need to get paid, but they are beyond ridiculous. I can see if one was late to the point of unacceptable, but a couple days late?! C'mon, people! These people are highly unscrupulous. Luckily, I was able to repair my credit and move on to a real company, but while I was with them, my life was a living hell! Run like hell from these people. I purchased a 2005 Nissan Sentra in October 2007 from a local used car dealership in Columbus, GA. As a matter of fact, it was a Chevrolet dealership that is no longer owned by the same people because of their illegal and bad business practices. Anyway, I didn’t think about the amount of the payments at the time, the car was $10,000.00. Well a few days later, I was looking at my paperwork and notice the amount after 72 months interest was nearly $23,000.00. Now this is absurd. These people should feel really bad about what they are doing to people. And then on top of that, they are the rudest so called business people I’ve ever dealt with. And the worst part is they don’t care. I bet they read all these comments posted on here and laugh and say we got them.
The first 2 years was okay. Then, I got laid off from work and called and asked about deferring a payment so I wouldn’t get behind on payments till I got a paycheck from my new job. The woman, or should I say ** (Mary) I talked to at PFS said they don’t do that sort of thing. Well by the time I got paid the payment was a week and a half late. Keep in mind it was still not out of the month it was due, nor was it 30 days out. Every month after that my payment was on time before or on the due date, but these people took it upon themselves to call me at home or on my cell phone, and even text message my cell at all hours of the day, even 9 to 10 at night. The threats, screaming, all was just crazy. This was just crazy. A week before my payment was due they would call or text my cell phone, who the hell does that?
This company does not deserve to be in business in the US or anywhere in the world for that matter. I was seriously thinking about bankruptcy for a while. Just to wipe my hands clean of them. They really don’t care about anyone but themselves and their big money. Well I finally got rid of that damn car last year in June, traded up to a 2011 Sentra SR Special Edition. I love my new car and life’s been so good since I don’t have to deal with PFS anymore.
I tell everyone out there please, please do yourself a huge favor and stay away from any type of financing with Prestige Financial Services. You really don’t want to do that to yourself. If you’re looking to finance a car or get a loan, do not use this company. There are plenty of banks and finance companies out there. I had an auto loan with them. Things were fine until the job I had at the time cut back hours due to the economic turndown; that eventually led to me being laid off. When it was a couple days or so before my due date, I would start to receive calls regarding my payment. I would receive a call every day until I paid. When I fell behind, things got bad real quick. When I signed the paperwork for the loan, I had to fill out a list of contacts that I was assured wouldn't be contacted unless it was an emergency. I didn't foresee anything ever coming up that would constitute an emergency or a reason to call. When I started to fall behind, these people started calling everybody on that contact list.
Even when I asked that they not be called, my request was ignored. It took me copying and pasting a section of the Fair Credit Reporting Act and a threat to file a complaint that stopped the calls. They would call me on my cell phone over and over and over, and sometimes not leave a message. When my car broke down and the repair cost was more than what I could pay, I paid a towing service to tow the car back to the dealership. I called them and told them that I was turning the car back in. I knew what this was going to do, but I couldn't pay to fix the car. They asked if there was anybody willing to buy the car and take over payments. They gave me a week to find someone to do this. There was no way I was going to pass this curse onto someone else, so I called them a week later and told them that there wasn't anybody who wanted to buy the car and to go to the dealership for the car. I thought that was it. Little did I know that my trip to hell was just beginning?
About two months later, I started receiving calls about the car. They wanted to know where the car was and were threatening legal action against me. I even received a summons from the court regarding the vehicle. I called the court and told them I didn't have the car. I then called Prestige back and told them I didn't have the car. They told me that it was my responsibility to find the car. I said no it wasn't. We went back and forth, before I hung up on them. They had the audacity to call my new job and ask a coworker who barely knew me if I had fixed my car. This, and a combination of the endless calls, led me to stop all contact with them due to the anxiety and other health issues that came from this experience.
I couldn't do it anymore. The car sold at auction six or so months after I had turned it in. I heard nothing for close to a year. I received a letter telling me I owed clost to two grand more than the balance left after the sale. I had no money, no means to pay nothing. I went to court. The case against me was dismissed, thankfully. But this thing still haunts me. I will never finance another car again. I will never recommend anybody deal with this finance company if they value their mental and physical health. If given a chance I tell people to stay away from them. This isn't me, but I curse this company into bankruptcy. These people are evil. Don't do business with them. You'll live to regret it. I sure did.

It all started back towards the end of 2008 when I fell on some financial problems, I contacted the finance company for my car and explained the situation to them. After speaking to them several times they called and informed me that they would help by letting me skip 3 mos of payments and add those months to the end of my loan. So I agree'd and started on this program which I paid $200-$250 every 2 weeks to them. Recently, they made me set up 2 months’ worth of payments in advance, which I told them I didn't want to do because I was not in front of a calendar and I didn't want to promise to pay on a date I was not sure I could pay. I was told to set it up anyway and if there was a problem that I just needed to call prior to the said date and make different arrangements. So the date was approaching and of course it wasn't a good day for me, so I called and let them know I couldn't pay until a few days later.
I was told that because I wasn't keeping my arrangement that I was now going to be 93 days late because of the 3 mos. they let me skip. I was informed that every time I made my 2-week payments I was charged a $20 fee, which they added to the end of my loan. This fee was not disclosed to me at any time during the duration of my 2-week payments. I also found out because they did NOT put these 3 mos on the end of the loan I have been paying a ton of fee's, almost every payment has gone to nothing but interest and my car is now out for repo. I have paid over $13,000.00 on my car and only $900.00 has gone to principal. I was told last month that because of all of this every penny of every payment made from here on out would go to nothing but interest until I paid the 3 months and got caught up.
This company is harassing me, my family, my friends, my work, and calling my neighbors that are not even listed as references. I have asked them at least 10 times not to call my work, but they still call here more than once a day. They send me a text 10 times in a row. Call me names, hang up on me, I have never, ever been treated this way by anyone in my life. I don’t know if they have been reporting negatively on my credit for the past two years. I have done everything they have asked me to do to in order for those 3 mos to go on the end of my loan, and they told me more than once that they did. I don’t understand how any of what they are doing can be legal, not only with the 3 mos but their collection efforts and non-stop harassment. They call demanding payment before the payment is even due. I would set up 2 payments to be drafted from my account at one time, but was told I was committing a felony by not talking to Niesha every 3 days to confirm my payment and check in with her. I have made a payment and 4 hours later I had a repo man knocking on my door (this was a few months ago), but this is how I am always treated.
I am at the point where I don’t know what to do, I have done everything that they told me to do up until last month when I found out that I have been paying nothing but interest, and it would continue to be that way. They are threatening to take my car and sell it for maybe $5,000.00 and garnish the other 10,000.00 from my wages. I have paid their company $13,000.00 and some change and there is still $19,100.00 left on my $20,000.00 principal. I have been paying on this account since March of 2007. Something has to be done about this company, I looked them up on the BBB website, they have 122 complaints in the last 36 months, and 51 closed complaints. On ripoffreport.com they have many, many complaints all people who are experiencing the same sort of harassment. Please help me, I dont know what to do anymore.
