I could write a novel but will keep it short as I can. Son and I cosigned together for a vehicle in February of 2024, him being the main account holder, me the cosigner. Within days of purchase, it started having issues (I am sure the car lot knew this because they are just as scummy as Prestige is). Well, it survived and was drivable after a costly repair in March at a local shop who said it needed a lot of work and was about to fail catastrophically. Well, in May of the year of purchase, it did. Completely undrivable. Towed it to a DIFFERENT shop because the car lot said not to drop it off there (how convenient) and directed us to tow it to that shop. We could not afford major repairs plus the payments, so we voluntarily surrendered, both by phone and a letter by mail.

Some rude, snotty employee told me over the phone after I told them where it was to go get it from, "We're not going to do that, it's an inoperable vehicle". Okay, suit yourself. She was such a snot on the phone, I blocked their number after that. Fast forward, get served papers that we were being sued about a year later. NOT for the original loan minus payments made, but the $17k loan PLUS $7k additional dollars. Went to court, lost because we did not reply to their motion for summary judgment (that we never received notice of). Did some research after court and found SO many things they did wrong, including NOT serving us the Motion for Summary Judgment. So, I filed proof of not receiving notice (how can we reply to something we never got) and also during my research, found that the SHOP that had the vehicle for months sold it, not Prestige.

Their attorney sat in court and lied and said the sale had been applied to the balance they were suing for (another lie, as that was nowhere in the documents). They didn't even HAVE a bill of sale because I asked the attorney's office for it and they said "We're not sure it's even been sold". Well now I know why, because they did NOT sell it. The shop sold it after acquiring a lien on it, for a FRACTION of what they are suing us for because it was a hunk of junk at that point. Anyway, I filed a whole bunch of documents proving our case, and are waiting to see what happens. This company is predatory, dishonest, greedy, and rude. DO NOT USE THEM. If the car lot brings you a contract with their name on it, leave immediately. TRUST me.

This is the worst finance company. I had a loan with them. Paid on time. When my husband became suddenly disabled, they did nothing but nonstop harass me. I lost the care because I was not bringing in the income by myself. They had no help. They filed for a judgement, and I will probably get my wages garnished. I could have settled this with a little help on their end as a good paying customer previously.

My husband died after 40+ years of marriage due to cancer which left me in an unexpected financial situation. My credit suffered and I had to buy another car, used. The only loan I could get was through Prestige Financial and felt fortunate even though I went from paying 1.9% with mine and my hubby's car to 14.49% with Prestige. After paying "on time" for 3 years on I called to see if I could refinance at a lower rate. I got a rude, smart mouth customer service representative saying "ma'am we are a FINANCE Company....go to your bank". I've known other people that got their cars refinanced with their finance company but I was told Prestige do not do that regardless of me paying EVERY payment on time for even before it was due. They DO NOT have any Customer Service Skills whatsoever to the point of RUDE!!!

The car was involved in an accident and ended up being totaled. My insurance company paid off the car completely. It took Prestige Financial almost 3 months to figure out that my insurance had paid the car off. They kept hitting my credit report and claiming I had late payments even though the car was already paid off. Their customer service people are very rude and not helpful at all. Rating: 1/5 Stars. I am beyond disappointed with my experience with Prestige Financial. They market themselves as a solution for those in bankruptcy, but in my experience, they have only made my financial situation worse. The Bait and Switch: When I signed for my 2015 vehicle in 2023, the original paperwork indicated a total around $18,000. However, I am now looking at a total cost of over $30,000.

Doubled Payments: Instead of helping me regain my footing, they have effectively doubled what I expected to be paying. This isn't "helping" a consumer through bankruptcy; it’s putting them in a deeper hole. Lack of Transparency: The discrepancy between the initial agreement and the current balance is unacceptable. I am currently seeking legal counsel to address this. I strongly advise anyone looking for a fresh start to to look elsewhere. This company does not have your best interests at heart.

I purchased a car from a dealership in Illinois and got financed through Prestige Financial. Three months after having the vehicle they were electrical problems. The car would just cut off while I was driving and cut back on then I take the car to the shop and they told me that my CVT transmission was bad on the vehicle. The car jerks, shakes and cuts off from time to time after being driven on the highway. It got so bad that I had to pay four grand to get the car fixed which put me behind on all my other bills and the car payment.

Prestige just keeps hounding me about the car payment. I would just let the payments get behind and they would say I would need to make the payment or the car would be picked up then two weeks later wanting to negotiate a Payment Arrangement so I can keep the car. This has going on for a year now. They make threats to try to scare you to make payments if you can’t afford. I’ve gotten to a point where I’m just going to let this car go. I’ve only had it for three years. The dealership that sold me the car hid the transmission problems from me and sold me this car one day before the extended warranty expired. Awesome. Shady business. This car is a lemon. At this point I don’t think financing or leasing from any company is wise. Now I have to file bankruptcy to start all over once again in my 40s. Just sad sad and shameful business.

I’ve been trying for weeks to adjust my auto loan due date from the 18th to the 22nd to match my pay schedule. Despite multiple emails and calls, Prestige Financial failed to provide the clear breakdown I requested—showing how much interest would accrue, confirming no contract alterations, or even supplying a copy of my own signed agreement without regulatory prompting.

Their responses were vague (“interest accrues daily”) with no dollar specifics, and after repeated assurances that an account manager would contact me—I never heard back. Meanwhile, I began receiving unpaid or past‑due notices, which has caused considerable financial stress and bank overdraft fees. All of this occurred even though I was ready to make payments—if only they’d been transparent.

If you’re considering loan-related requests or simple adjustments, be aware: you need to insist on written disclosures. Don’t accept vague statements or deferrals. Before you find yourself in my shoes, here’s a helpful resource: file a complaint with the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) at www.consumerfinance.gov/complaint/. Reporting through the CFPB can be a way to prompt real follow‑through. To others, I’m sharing this so you’re informed and can push for your rights under the Truth in Lending Act—don’t wait until it’s too late.

They give me a payoff quote for January 31st. My bank sends them a check on January 21st. They don't get it in the mail on time. They tell me it's not their problem that the mail didn't arrive on time. It's my problem. Then say I owe them money for the check not being the amount due to arriving late.

I would not recommend this company to anybody. Do not ever finance with them. If you have the option to do so elsewhere, I strongly encourage you to. I was desperate so I took the car. Payment was well over $600. Note: before this I was a loyal Ford customer for 25 yrs!!!! Never had an interest rate over 8%…. Anywho, I had to refile my case in my new state and it got ugly. 4 yrs later they are saying I owe 38k on this vehicle that is worth 17k. I filed for bankruptcy and nobody else can take me. Prestige took me. I am not gonna lie. The first 2 month was frustrating for me. I lost my job and then I was behind on two payment. After the 1 day I missed a payment I started receiving calls, text and emails. I knew it was them. I ignored the calls, barely look at the emails and didn’t even bother to read the text. I then got a new job and on my third month of owning the car I finally called to make a payment to bring my account current. I was really upset to find out that those first 3 month I didn’t make a payment that I was about to pay to close those payment. Not one single penny go to the principal. All went to Interest. Then I was educated on how their interest system world and how important it is to make my payment on time.

Anyways after that frustrating start. I made my payments 1 week early for the next 14 month. And now I have been making a lot of payment toward my principal and lower my interest reduction rate. Due to making payment on time. I realize in the comment sections here that all mostly terrible payment people that don’t make payment on time and blame this amazing company that help me get a car when nobody else can. All the weight and responsibility is on the customer. People pay your dues on time or earlier if you want to improve your credit score and build your life back together. Stop blaming everyone else when you are the one putting yourself where you are. The contract we sign is still the same. They tell us multiple times that if we don’t pay on time or make minimum payment it will only extended our contract. Learn to take responsibility and move forward!

I was Bankrupt with a vehicle dying. My lawyer suggested an auto company who works with Bankrupt individuals. They set me up with Prestige for my new car loan, I was desperate, I signed the documents which is my bad and on me. But now I'm stuck making ridiculous payments and my principal never going down, I think I'm worse off now than I was during bankruptcy. This payment is killing me. They won't refinance. And they won't lower my rate. I literally don't know what to do. STAY AWAY FROM THEM.

I was having a few issues with my mental health and sent Prestige my doctor's excuses. They repossessed my car and will not make any accommodations to help me. Then my area was declared a natural disaster by FEMA (Hurricane Beryl), no help or understanding from Prestige Financial!! They are horrible

I would never recommend or use this company again and will make my life and point to let people know. Don't care what business you are in you treat people right. You can't tell me 22,000 of interest is not predatory. I feel like I was taken advantage of, never never again
