I purchased a car from a dealership in Illinois and got financed through Prestige Financial. Three months after having the vehicle they were electrical problems. The car would just cut off while I was driving and cut back on then I take the car to the shop and they told me that my CVT transmission was bad on the vehicle. The car jerks, shakes and cuts off from time to time after being driven on the highway. It got so bad that I had to pay four grand to get the car fixed which put me behind on all my other bills and the car payment.
Prestige just keeps hounding me about the car payment. I would just let the payments get behind and they would say I would need to make the payment or the car would be picked up then two weeks later wanting to negotiate a Payment Arrangement so I can keep the car. This has going on for a year now. They make threats to try to scare you to make payments if you can’t afford. I’ve gotten to a point where I’m just going to let this car go. I’ve only had it for three years. The dealership that sold me the car hid the transmission problems from me and sold me this car one day before the extended warranty expired. Awesome. Shady business. This car is a lemon. At this point I don’t think financing or leasing from any company is wise. Now I have to file bankruptcy to start all over once again in my 40s. Just sad sad and shameful business.

I’ve been trying for weeks to adjust my auto loan due date from the 18th to the 22nd to match my pay schedule. Despite multiple emails and calls, Prestige Financial failed to provide the clear breakdown I requested—showing how much interest would accrue, confirming no contract alterations, or even supplying a copy of my own signed agreement without regulatory prompting.
Their responses were vague (“interest accrues daily”) with no dollar specifics, and after repeated assurances that an account manager would contact me—I never heard back. Meanwhile, I began receiving unpaid or past‑due notices, which has caused considerable financial stress and bank overdraft fees. All of this occurred even though I was ready to make payments—if only they’d been transparent.
If you’re considering loan-related requests or simple adjustments, be aware: you need to insist on written disclosures. Don’t accept vague statements or deferrals. Before you find yourself in my shoes, here’s a helpful resource: file a complaint with the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) at www.consumerfinance.gov/complaint/. Reporting through the CFPB can be a way to prompt real follow‑through. To others, I’m sharing this so you’re informed and can push for your rights under the Truth in Lending Act—don’t wait until it’s too late.

Refused to change due date by 3 days. EVERY MONTH they send messages asking me to tell them when next TWO payments will be made… I have had account for FOUR years and always make payments within 3 days of due date. Refuse to have managers call me! Would NEVER use them again or reco to anyone.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY TO FINANCE YOUR VEHICLE!! You can be paying on the car loan for a year or two, and the balance never goes down. I made the mistake and purchased the car online site unseen...will never do that again. Interest rates are through the roof and the payments are high!

Had my car's transmission blow while I was out of state. I had to go work in Colorado while it sat at WALT MASSEY dealer in Andalusia, A. Trans costed 7k to replace. A few months working in Colorado and I get a repo bill stating that my vehicle was found in Birmingham, AL. UM WHAT? So the dealership sold it to somebody and worked with PRESTIGE FINANCE on covering the location of it from me until it was deemed "repossessed." I paid almost 3 times over for this car and now being sued for 150% its whole sale....The fact that they both got away with it is baffling to me. I just dont have anyone to help fight it and trust me, I have the evidence.

I was a co-borrower on a car loan. I did not know it got repoed until I received garnishment letter from an attorney. I reached out to Prestige and made payment arrangements with them. The account has been satisfied but yet my credit report still shows I still owe over $8k! How is that possible? I have reached out and requested a phone call but they just keep emailing me. They keep saying credit report is accurate. How when I have proof it was paid! Very unprofessional! I even had to reach out to the attorney to let them know it was paid because Prestige didn’t report it to them!

I’ve had a loan of 18,000 dollars since Oct of 2022. I put $2000 down and have paid $457 dollars monthly for 27 months. Only $2200 dollars of my principal balance has been paid off. Everything goes to interest. They will begin emailing and calling you 5 days before your payment is due. Customer service is of no help. I will be hopefully refinancing elsewhere by next month. Even if this is your only option DON’T DO IT!!

Fell on hard times, my husband and I who worked was placed in a position to take in 4 children for a family member. I had to change jobs to accommodate the needs of these 4 children BY LAW to keep them out of foster care... Shortly after I myself get pregnant, still lady my $650 a month car payment. Eventually reached out to Prestige to see what my options were "they could let me go one month without payment" that would be added to the end of the contract and that was it. I surrendered my vehicle to Prestige and was 100% honest... I could not longer afford the payments as I had issues with pregnancy SO after that conversation they BLEW MY PHONE UP. Calls and texts day and night about my payments to the point EVEN the drivers who were sent to get the car "couldn't find it". I sent them the address and literal pictures of the car in the driveway.
In my late trimester I had to go to the ER not once but TWICE over the stress I was under by them. Long story short, I have all the medical documentation and dates, text messages and call logs. Have already contacted an attorney and will be pursuing emotional duress against them. Had to be put on medications because the stress of this during one of the most fragile states in life. All of the reviews on this site is also going to help. So thank you to everyone who has validated my case here.

I've had this company for over a year. They are the worst company I have ever financed through. They call, text, and email you literally the day your payments due. Even though you make your payments every month. They basically harass you. I chose to refinance my vehicle due to them harassing me every month about my payments. They give me a payoff quote for January 31st. My bank sends them a check on January 21st. They don't get it in the mail on time. They tell me it's not their problem that the mail didn't arrive on time. It's my problem. Then say I owe them money for the check not being the amount due to arriving late.
I would not recommend this company to anybody. Do not ever finance with them. If you have the option to do so elsewhere, I strongly encourage you to. They messaged me saying, I owe them one amount. Then message me again saying, I owe a different amount. They can't get their stories straight. I highly recommend that not financing through this company. That way, you do not have to be treated the same way I was.

Predatory lending company. They tend to stalk and harass you BEFORE your payment is due. I only had my new car for 3 weeks and they were basically calling everyday after purchase to "go over the details." I repeated and verified everything on my application and repeating the car make model, etc., salary information, employer....I asked why all of the duplication and she replied they just want to make sure all accurate.
Fast forward 3 days and calls daily, several times per day, and now they want to go over the website with me. They want to show me how to create an account, how to pay online, how to access account info. I replied I'm a professional person managing a high profile medical organization, I think I should know how to register my information on a website. The rep was very rude and commented "...fine if you're refusing to learn how to set up your account..." I won't go on but this has been the behavior and we're not even 1 month into ownership. This is going to be a long road. As soon as I'm in a position to refinance, I will be running quickly to do so. For now, I have blocked the known numbers they call from.

Prestige do not care. They will call and harass you even if you communicate with them. You have to explain yourself over and over. They do not document any calls that you made and always can not help turn you over to another person then they can not help. Please take my advice. Do not use them. The worse company eve. Will not change my due date. They are the worse. I regret even dealing with them. They do not refinance either.

They are predators. I was desperate and didn't do my research and I have regretted it. Ask yourself why are they so willing to help people with bad credit? I can assure you it's not because of their generous heart. They are the car loan version of a payday loan place. If they are your only option for a car loan, please take the bus. You will be glad you did.

I had to file Chp 13 in 2019 after my Mom passed way to cover expenses including surrendering my beloved Mustang back to Ford. Fast forward to 2020. I needed a car because I was relocating to another state. Welcome Prestige. I bought a 2020 Camaro at 17%. Note: I didn’t want this car but it was the only manual on the lot. I was desperate so I took the car. Payment was well over $600. Note: before this I was a loyal Ford customer for 25 yrs!!!! Never had an interest rate over 8%…. Anywho, I had to refile my case in my new state and it got ugly. 4 yrs later they are saying I owe 38k on this vehicle that is worth 17k. SO… I decided to take money out of my retirement and pay cash for a car. I will be surrendering this vehicle at the end of the month. The joy of not having a payment AND buying the car that I always wanted is a great feeling. This will be the very first time in my life that I will not have a car payment.
I didn’t have issues with Prestige and payments, they were pretty flexible at times when I needed it… The issue is charging high finance rates for people who are trying to rebuild is just not fair. I offered to buy the car with cash but they refused to come down on price. Everyone hits a bump but the system is not designed to help, it’s designed to keep people in debt. Lesson learned: I will revive my relationship with Ford at some point… THEY were good to me and I took that relationship for granted. I have enjoyed driving that Camaro.. This car has been good to me. I will miss it BUT Until then I am going to enjoy the freedom of finally owning my own car!

Carlot is no longer in business. I will never deal with them again. See if I can get the state police involved.

I needed a car after surrendering the vehicle I had in a Chapter 7 bankruptcy and I went to Larry H Miller Volkswagen in Avondale Arizona and they did the bait and switch on the vehicle that I wanted but I had surrendered my vehicle at the dealership and they put me into a new vehicle with Prestige Financial. In the past 3 years on a $30,000 contract I paid $15,000 and I still owe $28,000. I've only paid off $3,000 on the loan out of the $15,000 I've given them and now they're saying my car is only worth $12,500 if I voluntarily surrender the vehicle so it's best that I keep the vehicle and just Friday get out from underneath it but dealing with this company at 13.5% is a horrible horrible choice I made and I thought they were helping me out not throwing me under the bus.

NEVER agree to use them. I like most that desperately needed a car was financed by them. When I saw the price of 21,000 on my contract, I thought that included financing. It did not. Of the $500 monthly car note I pay, only $136 goes to the principal! You live and learn. This company and others prey on your desperate situation.

I can say when I needed a vehicle prestige came through, however, it came with a price. I felt like I sold my soul to the devil. I should have never agreed to a 500 hundred plus dollars car payment, now that I'm having hardship and still making weekly payments it's still an issue. And it's all always the one customer service representative that's has to be that one that you wish would leave the company and find another job. Like Tony. He always give me the hardest time like for real. All this over 150 dollars. So I was on a payment plan somehow I was told my bank asked for the money back. Well I checked. Prestige have a bad habit of charging your account several times. Well in this case they did.
I guess my bank asked the 150 back. I made another payment of 200 after that. Now I have another payment coming up again of 200 this week. Prestige is denying the payment due to they want 150 returned by my bank but it's not showing in my bank system yet so now since then prestige wants the full balance of the vehicle of 20 thousand in ten days. Wow.

This company is absolutely terrible and blatantly violates numerous consumer protection laws regarding debt. I am currently in the process of consulting with an attorney to pursue legal action. They sold me a vehicle without disclosing that it had been in two major accidents and had frame damage. When I demanded they take the vehicle back, they refused, stating it wasn’t financially viable for them. I've already had to replace two engines, and at this point, it's simply not worth investing any more money into this car. Run far far away!!

I filed for bankruptcy and nobody else can take me. Prestige took me. I am not gonna lie. The first 2 month was frustrating for me. I lost my job and then I was behind on two payment. After the 1 day I missed a payment I started receiving calls, text and emails. I knew it was them. I ignored the calls, barely look at the emails and didn’t even bother to read the text. I then got a new job and on my third month of owning the car I finally called to make a payment to bring my account current. I was really upset to find out that those first 3 month I didn’t make a payment that I was about to pay to close those payment. Not one single penny go to the principal. All went to Interest. Then I was educated on how their interest system world and how important it is to make my payment on time.
Anyways after that frustrating start. I made my payments 1 week early for the next 14 month. And now I have been making a lot of payment toward my principal and lower my interest reduction rate. Due to making payment on time. I realize in the comment sections here that all mostly terrible payment people that don’t make payment on time and blame this amazing company that help me get a car when nobody else can. All the weight and responsibility is on the customer. People pay your dues on time or earlier if you want to improve your credit score and build your life back together. Stop blaming everyone else when you are the one putting yourself where you are. The contract we sign is still the same. They tell us multiple times that if we don’t pay on time or make minimum payment it will only extended our contract. Learn to take responsibility and move forward!
