I am not a customer, but I received a text message allegedly from them providing me with a code to activate an account. I called them and the call center I was routed to was apparently in India and I tried to find out if the message was legitimate or not. The operator kept asking me for personal information to allegedly look up to see if someone had hacked my info and was trying to open a credit card in my name. Having worked in the banking industry I knew he did not need my social security number, phone number, or address to look up my name in their system so I ended the call. I will now have to closely monitor my credit score to see if unusual charges start getting added to my name.

Merrick Bank falsely used my info to decline my cc application and then used my info to sell my info to gambling site

I have only been a Merrick Bank customer for a short time. I have already been in contact with support due to typos on the merrickback.com website - which already made it hard to make a good early impression(Using "off" instead of "of" in several frames). If the inaccuracies ended there, I wouldn't be so embarrassed of/for Merrick Bank. I paid my balance off completely 3 days ago, and I get an email today showing a minimum amount due(Apparently old information from my account statement balance as of 4 days ago). It was obviously inaccurate, and I was able to quickly login to my account and verify 0.00 due and 0.00 total balance.

Got an email from Merrick asking me to "accept" an offer for a new credit card. Not a "pre-qualification or invitation to apply but just asked me to "accept". I tried to accept, had to enter my info then was denied because I already had a card with that SS number. Merrick came to me, not me to them. Very dishonest....

I was on the phone trying to resolve the issue of receiving my credit card over two months later. I disagreed with the late payment report that was placed on the account, and I hadn’t received a card or correspondence. No one called me back to settle the issue, and I have noticed Merrick has placed a late payment status on my credit report, and we haven’t resolved the issue to this date. This is very frustrating for a new customer. Can someone please contact me. This makes me leery of your practices. I just told a few people to apply for your credit card, now with my issue being unresolved I will have to inform the people to hold off until my issue can be resolved. This is absolutely POOR customer service, and unacceptable. Please contact me to complete my process completely. Thanks so much. Respectfully!

I have been with Merrick for a few years - I got on a mission to pay down my CC's and I got Merrick fully paid and kept my Card for emergencys or a vacation which I have planned in 3weeks. My Merrick card and one other was what was going to help fund such a needed break. Well, guess what? My card which expires 6/27 was cancelled today for "inactivity." No phone call, no text, no email, no letter. So in conclusion Merrick sucks! No other way to put it. You are a number and nothing more. They are fine when that high interest money is coming in but when things get better, they drop you like a hot rock. Terrible way to do business.

My emergency credit card. Easy to use no problems. My one experience with customer service was awesome. I was called about a suspicious transaction. We blocked my card right away. After a month I had a hard time reactivating my card. Customer service helped me get it back on. They helped me setup my app up also. Being elderly some apps can be confusing. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

PIN change. Issue changing the PIN online. Called customer service. Long story short.... you verbally give the new PIN number you want to the representative over the phone instead of using the keypad and type it in!!!! I told the representative...I will type in in the keypad and was told...you have to verbally give me the 4 digit PIN number. Had no choice but to do so and then immediately changed it online.

The process from application to paying the monthly bill has all been very simple and user-friendly. I am absolutely satisfied with their concern for customers having a positive experience, and I would definitely recommend Merrick to friends and family looking for a credit card.

I was offered this opportunity to use Merrick bank's credit card... As I am repairing my credit rating due to have extraordinarily high medical bills I thought this was a great opportunity to build my credit.... I watch my credit like a hawk in fact I check it everyday... When I received the terms of the agreement I followed it to the t. You can only pay with your bank details... So they have the access to make the payment through their service... No debit cards, no credit cards. nothing. It has to go through your bank directly...

It took 10 days after making a payment for it to process. Then I was charged a return check fee even tho the money was in the account to pay the payment. This is a Terrible way to do customers.

It is a a huge inconvenience to have to send in a check and wait a long period to have the funds added to increase my credit line. There should be an option to send in funds to increase credit line through the app by use of a debit card or ach from a bank account. This made me consider looking for another financial institution where I can increase my credit line without having to mail in a check/money order and then wait for it to be received and processed. I’m still waiting for my credit line to increase, and I have a vacation coming in a few days.

Kept their word. They increased my credit limit because I had no missed or late payments. I greatly greatly appreciated that. A company that cares about their customers and willing to see the efforts the customer is making.

This is by far my favorite credit card. I find myself reaching for it above the others we use. They gave me a great amount of credit and any time fraud is suspected, I immediately get a text message. Using them through apple pay makes checking out from the store a breeze.

I have never had any problems here and it has always been easy to navigate.

Need bigger credit line. This bank is shitty!!!! I needed 1000. They didn’t want to give me that. What bad customer services in all areas. I will never recommend this card to an we’ll come on stop acting.

Never had a problem with Merrick! Helping me get my score back up after years of struggle after Covid. Recommended to family and friends. Generous credit line to start and after making on time payments it was doubled which has helped.

I am 65 years old and a business owner. Hoped for a better credit limit to raise my Fico score. The credit cards 7 month double my credit is very good. But it is time to get higher limits to lower utilization and build my credit even better.

I want to cancel my credit card immediately! I did not know I will be charged a $78 dollar fee in November when my credit limit increases. So I want to cancel this card before November unless the fee is waived. L

I think you are a great card to have. I called to have my payment moved up and they did it with no problem. I thought that was great service! It is also so easy to make a payment. it was easy to apply for and they did up my credit limit like they said they would. I was surprised because I remembered they said that, but I looked at my card and seen it. They had did what they said they would.. I love having the Merrick card.

My limit was raised out of nowhere with no warning. I’m assuming it’s so Merrick can keep charging me more and more interest therefore collecting more money out of me that I do not have. Also, my minimum payment jumped from $40 to $80 in less than a month?? That is a steep jump and cannot really afford that.

It's been a good card, helping me to rebuild, my credit. After my divorce, my credit was shot, needed help in rebuilding my credit, this card is helping me to do that. Only reason for a 4 star is a 5 star, it that I would have liked a higher limit.

Merrick Bank has an outstanding customer service department that satisfied me every step of the way. They’ve have vigorously monitored my usage keeping my account safe from fraudulent charges. The process to start my account was clear and easy, and I have been using my Merrick bank card ever since. They monitor my activity and alert me to unusual activity.

Happy with my account with Merrick. Advance notice of the payment due date helps a lot. I love that I can manage and pay my account online or via mobile app. Not interested in having the credit limit raised in the future unless I am asked about that first.

So far, so good. There have not been any issues. It is a good emergency card. I have not used it much as it is for emergencies, but for the credit limit I have, I am trying to be more responsible and with this card, I am. Hopefully in the future, I will get a higher credit limit and can use the card more, but for now, it is serving the purpose.

I never heard of Merrick and before I started doing business with them - and I love them. They allow you to customize what alerts you want - their online banking is super easy to navigate and they acknowledge they have received your payment. I’ve been with Merrick Bank for a relatively short time but in that time I’ve been taken care of when I have a question or two they get answered to my full satisfaction, they are courteous and a very helpful, all I can say about them is keep up the good work.

I wish Merrick has a rewards or cashback program so I can utilize my card more often. I have other cards with great rewards. I called customer service to see if I can upgrade to a better card but was unable to do so.

I have nothing but positive remarks to offer regarding the card. However, I would advise that when submitting a claim, you should anticipate potential denial or thorough investigation. I was charged for an item I did not receive due to my ignorance of the additional requirements, resulting in a three-hour delay at an airport with my young children late at night.

He understood my concerns and blocked my old card and sent me a new one. Thought I might have been scammed, and my card information compromised, he resolved my issues. Don't let yourself be scammed, even writing a very long review. I allowed myself to be a victim. Received a text from T-Mobile saying I had bonus points that were expiring. Didn't know I had any, so they were offering a tablet for the bonus points. I couldn't use my debit card, so I tried using my credit card to pay for the shipping. Cards were not working, called T-Mobile and they said they don't give any points and recommended I change my credit and debit cards.

Merrick is great. Their customer support is knowledgeable, courteous and helpful. Payments on time equals credit limit raises. Great company to work with. Interest rates are fair considering my credit score and a lot lower than others I have been offered.

When I made my 1st payment, I first tried to make it from my debit card. When the assistant told me it would cost $6.95 to use my debit card, I said no and that I would use my checking account. The payment was made from my debit card, and I was charged that service fee twice. I am definitely not happy with that. I was charged almost $14 dollars after I declined to make a payment by a method that would charge me.

Can not log on to mobile app. Can't log on to website. I used the card one time and soon made my payment and paid of in full then was unable to use my card again. I have uninstalled the app and reinstalled and still not able to log in. Very unsatisfied with this credit card.

Don't believe all the negative reviews online. Merrick Bank was great to me. Their customer service is great and live agents can be reached 24/7 which is awesome unlike a lot of credit cards that aren't reachable 24/7. I never had any issues with my card being declined when I was traveling outside the country.

Poor customer service support. When called for resolve issues, you get transferred to different people. And get confirmation from staff and they don’t understand customer support in overseas staff. Very frustrating and difficult to communicate with them.

The absolute worst experience ever with a credit card company. I would turn my auto pay off because I was gonna pay with another account and they would still try to do an ACH Transfer which would result in a 40 dollar return check fee. If this had happened once I would have said... Ok well I must have forgot, but for this to have happened at least 6 times is when you ask yourself what's going on. The rates are horrible and the are using a return check fee to get more money off the top. I'll never be a part of their business EVER again!! Find another card!!

I never got the $200 back that I sent to them initially after closing the account. Assuming that it might come next cycle? Please send me the check as soon as possible. I will change this review once the check is cashed.

I originally had a credit line of $5000 I made my first payment in a timely manner for the entire balance. I was notified the payment was returned, so I immediately called and found that a number was missing in my bank account information. I made the payment and corrected the issue with my routing number, however I was still charged a late fee and my credit limit was reduced to $3000. This was due to a typo error.

I had an issue with a company charging me for a yearly membership that wasn't mine. I'm not even sure how they got my card number! I reported the issue and everything seemed to t be taken care of. The funds were replaced and all was good. A few weeks later the money was taken back out of the account and the fraud team said I was actually responsible for the funds they didn't see anything fraudulent. Well that is absolutely untrue. This was not even my account.

I’ve had my card account for more than 2 years. I’ve never received a credit limit increase. I called to ask customer service and they were unable to give an adequate explanation. Two year of on time payments but somehow I still don’t meet the criteria for a CLI? Baloney! Subprime lender, which is widely known. But the key incentive for opening an account with Merrick is to increase your available credit, which in turn will help lower your utilization and improve your score. If your limit never increases it just becomes a burdensome card and you end up closing the account because there is no point in keeping it open.
