Merrick is a good bank. When I have some doubts, I always call them and ask them to explain why. The representatives are very friendly and they are very happy to help you with your problems you may have. Keep up the good work!

Of the number of online credit card sites I use, Merrick is the least user-friendly and least informative. The Merrick site does work, but it would be more user-friendly with more tabs to get where I want to go.

Merrick has been a fair creditor to work with. They extended a line of credit to me and when I paid my monthly payments on time they increased my credit line without my asking. I continue to make my monthly payments on time and work to keep my balance low. It is good to know I have the credit when I need it.

I haven't had any complaints but 1 small thing, I misplaced my husband's login information when I called. The representative I spoke with was rude. I still can't sign in and pay his account. Instead, I pay via phone or mail it.

I called from Japan with a request to change my internet password, since I had been locked out of my account due to failed attempted to log on. We are on vacation in Japan. The service operator was fine and courteous, however unable to access my account due to her system's being down. She could not even write down my reset request and to input it later. Calling direct from Japan is expensive and I am disappointed that I could not achieve my password reset. I believe the service representative did all she could. However a better system seems appropriate.

Merrick Bank has been awesome to me. I initially began with a very low credit limit as I've been using my card to pay on time, etc. Merrick has raised my limit accordingly. The customer service staff is wonderful. Always willing to help you. I'm very pleased with your card over the couple I have. Merrick also thanks the client for their own time payments.

Called on or about 11th to inquire about account. Was told 2600 credit and 129 available and no payment for rest of month. Two days later auto teller reports 2725 credit and $11 available. Cannot deal with little to no info in this number of days and even when I get a bill, it many times does not agree with what I find out. It was fine at first to keep track but being on SSDI, I cannot afford to not know what's coming.

I called to get a missing card replaced. On the positive side, the phone was answered without an unreasonable hold. The woman I spoke to took care of the request for a new card quickly, efficiently and accurately. I felt that charging for a replacement card (that was not overnighted or rushed) was greedy and unfair. I think the first time should be free and a subsequent event may incur a charge. This took a 5 star customer encounter down to 3 star.

I have enjoyed being a customer with Merrick credit card. I haven't had any complaints, I receive e-statements and make my payments online. I have received credit limit increases for always paying on time which I really appreciated. Merrick credit card was a recommended card to help with my credit score.

I am very disappointed in Merrick Bank. As a loyal customer for some time, I consistently paid my entire bill on time each month. I was surprised to see my credit limit raised because I didn't request such, but as always continued to pay my entire bill to ensure that the balance was low going into the next month. Instead of being rewarded for being a good customer, Merrick Bank decided to punish me. After the bank received electronic payment from my bank and posted it to my account, they applied only half of the amount paid and put an unnecessary hold on the remaining amount of my limit, which they planned to keep in place for 7 days. It was not enough to have the funds already, but the rude robotic customer svc reps and supervisor insisted that my bank needed to send "proof" of my BANK ACCOUNT BALANCE (???) to Merrick Bank showing my balance before the credit payment and after. What in the world?!!
Credit card people - HELLO - you have my money? My personal bank account information is none of your business. I closed my account. If Merrick Bank doesn't trust me as a loyal customer in spite of my excellent history with them, then we are best parting ways. There are too many other companies out there with better rates and service to deal with these robots.

I have had nothing but good a experience with Merrick Bank since I received their credit card offer. Their online site is user friendly and I am able to pay and view my account easily. Because I paid my payments on time consistently for 6 months, they held true to their word and increased my credit limit. I would recommend this card to anyone else looking for a credit card.

I'm really happy with my Merrick card account. I'm very satisfied with this card account. I have two other card accounts that are not near in comparison to this card account. For one their monthly fees are out of this world. They too came with annual fees, that I very much dislike. With Merrick I had none. My overall experience with this account has been great. Thanks!

I had been a PERFECT customer.... and I do mean PERFECT. I paid my bills far ahead of time and made very large payments each time. Merrick does not disagree on that point. After about 10 years with the same Chase checking account (the one I pay my Merrick bills with), my online Chase account was compromised, and we determined it best to close that account and open a new one. I made a payment to Merrick and forgot to change my account info in their system... Simple human mistake. I realized almost immediately that I had forgotten to tell them, and I made a new payment to replace the returned one. They closed my account. ONE TINY MISTAKE, and they closed my account. If a judge saw this, he would laugh them out of the courtroom.

My Merrick Bank card was used fraudulently in London. Merrick immediately closed the account for me and instigated an investigation. They charged back all the fraudulent activity and sent me a new card right away. Very quick and efficient.

I would like to warn ALL of you to stay away from Merrick Bank credit card. After having this card for 1 1/2 years, paying on time, I decided to pay off my balance, which was $1,197.00. The amount was withdrawn from my bank account and cleared my bank within 24 hours. Wonderful, right? Wrong. Merrick Bank has only applied half that amount to my available credit - it will take up to 11 days for the rest to clear. Unbelievable!!! Never before did it take 11 days to for Merrick to post my true balance and available credit. IT DOES NOT PAY TO PAY OFF YOUR BALANCE!! I will be CLOSING this account immediately - but I guess I better wait until I have an ALL CLEAR sign from them. They are worthless!!

Concern has always been about a "delayed hold" on my payment in excess of $200-$300. As a long time credit card holder with Merrick Bank Visa, I'm disappointed with having to wait for funds to be released after a payment is posted and bank funds are cleared. Long term customers (myself) should be considered for immediate applied payment whether $200 or any large denomination.

I have had this card about 5 months and never wait for my statement to pay the balance as when I was young and stupid, I got into financial debt and didn't want to stiff my creditors. So in good faith, I enrolled in a credit service to reduce my debt and pay off those high bills on some of the cards. Well the rest of them, even though I was current cancelled my accounts and it was devastating to me. You folks came along, and allowed me the PRIVILEGE of another shot and am happy to say my credit score today is a whopping 756 and am grateful of Merrick Bank and the other institutions who believed in me. While this card might be good for those reestablishing credit, this company goes out of their way to make sure customers can't pay extra on their account to decrease the balance faster. I picked up side work doing surveys here and there and tried to apply the extra amount to my balance as soon as I was paid. Because the extra was not the minimum amount due they would not accept the extra payment (I tried online, I tried over the phone and the automated system). I called in and spoke to a rep and explained why I was wanting to pay extra and the rep laughed at me and proceeded to tell me paying it off faster would not change the interest. Wasn't trying to change the interest, was just trying to pay extra on my balance due. Customer service was rude and I plan to close the account as soon as I pay it off and move to a real credit card.

Due to a business loss, we ran into hard times, so needed to rebuild our credit. We signed up for a Merrick card, and subsequently have a couple of others. Since we paid for a year's fees, we will keep the card for that year. Not happy at how long it takes to have a deposit made directly to your website takes. The other cards acknowledge it practically immediately. It takes Merrick a minimum of 3 days. Also the other cards I get immediate notification when the card has been used. Again it takes Merrick a minimum of 3 days. Wouldn't do me much good if my card were compromised!

Unlike most Credit Card Companies, Merrick Bank doesn't pressure you into using high interest rate "checks", or use other unseemly methods of encouraging debt. Their electronic banking system is easy to use, easy to set up safeguards, auto-pay, etc... I haven't had to use customer service, it's just a card that I know will be there should I need it.

All of my experiences with Merrick Bank have been positive. Their group was one of the first to provide me with a line of credit after a divorce which greatly impacted my credit rating. Although they were one of the first, they did not take advantage of the situation with exorbitant interest rates. They provided a sensible credit limit with good rates and throughout my time with them have continued to increase credit line as I continued to keep the account in good standing. Truly appreciate their proactive approach to providing FICO scores at no cost so I can continue to watch my credit rating rise!

My experience bank has been excellent. Customer service has been very friendly and helpful each time I have had to reach out to them. Personnel is very customer sensitive and extremely eager to resolve customer concern or answer question.

I have had no issues since receiving my account with Merrick Bank. I received the increase in account balance as promised with no argument or problems. I have never had to contact customer service for any issues. I utilize the iPhone app to track my account and pay my bill. I love the ease of using the app, it is very user friendly and easy to navigate. I highly recommend people sign up for the card if they are sent an invitation.

After the market crash of 2008 and the loss of jobs in this Country, there are fewer and fewer credit card companies that care about helping the working person get their financial dignity back. Great credit card company to do business with. I have to say they were a great stumble upon, when I was rebuilding my credit, everything they say they will do and more! Constantly getting credit increase about 2 times a year. Started at $700.00 limit 3 years ago, up to $2,900.00 and still going.

I am writing this to share my experience with Merrick Bank Credit Card. I have been using my card and never had any problems with it as well as any problem with payments and how they get applied. I did received my double credit amount on the 7th billing cycle which made me super happy. Thank you for trusting me and approving me for a card, this is the only card I will keep around :)

The website is extremely user friendly and you're able to see what has been spent, what your balance is, and what your payment due is. The electronic email comes in ahead of time through your email to let you know when your monthly payment is due. Payments made through their website are made within 1-2 days which beats my local bank.

I only came to know Merrick Bank as they took over my Hooters credit card somewhere along the line. No real complaints. I don't really like the $72 yr fee or the exorbitantly high interest rate, but if it really bothered me I would get rid of the card. What I did appreciate about the card were the credit limit increases I would find occasionally.

I like that they gave me a chance to improve my credit when no one else would. I like the no annual fee, periodic credit line increases, and that they handled a fraudulent purchase by giving me a full refund. What I do not like is the high Apr. I have worked on my credit for three years and deserve a lower Apr. I also do not like no rewards for using the card. So I only use my card for an emergency, not everyday.

Representatives are cordial and helpful. They do not make you regret or dread talking to them. One thing that would help not having to contact them would be: Let the system that you can contact via the Internet show pending charges that impact available funds.

In trying to rebuild credit, it is often tough to find a company that is willing to reward using your credit wisely and offering you credit increases without asking. I am very pleased to say that I have never had to deal with Merrick Bank. This is good news. Someone that has to deal with a bank means there's something that's gone wrong and needs human input to be fixed. That Merrick has never needed something fixed is a testament to their website and their banking policies. Their website is a dream to navigate, very user-friendly. I am proud to be part of the Merrick family, and very glad they took a chance on me. Even though my credit rating was good - very good, my credit was over-extended and they took a chance. It has been over a year and all payments have been made on time, if not ahead of time, and with minimum or more payments. I have had an excellent experience with Merrick bank. I really like the Merrick bank app. It loads up fast I can pay through it and check my balance. Another feature that I like is I don't have the best credit due to a divorce in the past, but Merrick bank gave me a chance and I pay on time all the time and they are generous about increasing my credit limit. Merrick bank is awesome!

Been a good bank credit card, but as with other banks, the finance charges are way too high. Especially since the economy is in the dump so bad. We need a boost to get the country out of this slump, and a lower rate would help big time!

I read online from credit karma that you can get a one-time late payment forgiveness if you have paid on time since then. I have paid my credit balance off almost every month, not just the minimum due. When I called, the agent didn't know what I was talking about and then said "oh, we don't do that". She was not pleasant or nice. Capital One went out of their way to help me.

I got this card, which I absolutely regret! Next time I'll do more research before I get into a card like this. I plan on cancelling next month because of all their crap, but all the reviews I've read about cancelling are nightmares. I mailed my Payment in on the 13th of August, I paid all my other cards and some other bills at the same time. I figured it couldn't take more than 4 days to get there. BOY WAS I WRONG! I called on day 4 and they couldn't deny or confirm that they received the payment. So I called them back on day 5, on day 6, on day 7 and on day 8 all the same thing. On day 9 when I called they said no payment was received. At that point I went online to check the review and read similar accounts.
Instead of checking the source of my payment and cancelling it I waited two more days (11 days after mailing in the payment) and called one last time before I was going to cancel the payment. Sure enough it was received but not posted. By the time they posted it to my account they charged me a LATE FEE! Can you believe that I got a late fee because they were late! Customer service was very rude and finally agreed to waive the fee which I found out wasn't a total waive - just a portion of the late fee. Plus it would take 3-4 days to post the waiver. Also you can never just call to check your balance without taking 10 minutes to talk to one of the reps. They have no automated service. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND IF TRYING TO BUILD YOUR CREDIT.
