I applied for the credit card through Credit Karma and they were true to their word that if I paid on time for 7 consecutive months that I would get an increase and I did where through Capital One they did NOT remain true to their word.

I have never had any issues with Merrick Bank. The only thing was that they were slow with reporting the increase in my credit limit to the bureaus. Once I submitted a request for them to update my credit limit with the credit bureaus, they did so quickly.

Merrick has given me a chance to establish credit in my name. It has been a great experience for me. I have been able to purchase several items. I use their online payment app. It is so easy to use Merrick. Also gives email alerts. Very satisfied.

Merrick Bank gave us credit when we needed it. We built a trust together over the past year and they increased our credit line. We have not used credit cards in over 30 years until recently. Companies like Merrick will make it possible for us to establish a credit history. Thus, enabling us to buy a car in the near future.

This site is impossible to sign in. I keep having to just pay my bill online. I also have a huge interest rate. I received an email regarding my acct (which is paid off) and of course, I can't open it either.

Merrick Bank offered me credit after tough financial times due to my wife's illness. She had four major surgeries and medicine that was so expensive that we just could not handle...thus Bankruptcy. Merrick still offered me credit and has been willing to move my credit limit up, helping me regain positive credit scores and reports with all three reporting companies. The interest rate isn't the lowest out there but the fact that they would even offer me credit is outstanding. Easy to work with as well. Big A+ for Merrick.

I only have a Merrick Bank credit card, but it's great. They gave me a line when I first started trying to re-establish my poor credit, I can use it anywhere, and the online tool and features are easy to use.

I enjoy having my Merrick Bank Credit Card. It's been great to have when I needed it and it's helping me build my credit score. I have had no negative issues so far and I like the fact that they recognize me as a loyal customer. We had just been out of bankruptcy for a couple of years and they granted us a credit line. We have increased our credit score from around 550 to 731 during the past two years as a result of Merrick providing us credit.

I like the credit card overall and the website is OK. However, Merrick bank needs to create a system so customers can email them with problems, questions, concerns, etc... I don't like waiting on the phone and would rather email.

Because we don't have a checking or savings account with Spokane Teachers Credit Union, just our home loan and 2 car loans with them the checks were denied. The bank doesn't know why they didn't go through. They suggested depositing them in our account, then pay you with a personal check. And that worked. Their interest was 0% for 6 months then only 12% after that. Merrick was very kind to remove the returned check fee. We will still use our Merrick card but pay in full each month. Thank you.

I was sold on this provider when they offered to double my credit limit by simply stating in good standing for at least 6 months. When chip cards became standard, I did not need to ask for a new one, they sent it right away! I would recommend to anyone.

this supervisor Freddy ID #** she tells us the if we need the card we would have to pay $29.00 fee. Ok it is Merrick Bank issue and she would not help us as a long time customer. There is no customer service anymore. The bank can take our money with no problem but when there is a issue no help at all.

I'm not feeling the satisfaction of my Merrick Bank Visa Card. I have cards for example Amex, Citi and Chase that offer up to 18 months no interest, cash back from 1 to 3 percent and no annual fee. Merrick offers me a interest rate of 25.70 percent, a $3.00 a month annual monthly fee and no cash back. What is there for me to be satisfied with?

I made a mistake and made a payment that was returned because of a lack of 7 dollars. (Shame on me). I found out right before my payment was due and corrected it. They did not help me with waiving the $27 fee. Bad customer service.

Merrick bank has been a clear partner in recovering your credit and upping your credit score. I started with an amount of which they doubled 6 mths later as a reward for keeping my account current. I'd recommend to anyone who wants to build credit.

It has taken my account 6 1/2 years to reach $2000. I have never had a late payment and always pay more than the minimum payment. I think that once you have proven yourself as credit-worthy, the fees should be removed and credit limits reviewed.

I don't call in to the call center very often but every time I have had to, your customer service staff have always been very friendly, polite, listen to my issue or concerns and have done their best to help and resolve any problems. I would definitely refer a friend.

I have had a great experience. I pay my bill by phone. I have never had any hassles or problems. I did call customer service once and that was successful. I have had my credit increased for paying my bill on time for several months and paying at times more than the expected amount. I am very satisfied and yes would recommend this to anyone.

The only issue I have with this card is the high interest rate. Otherwise, the card is great. If payments are consistently on time, the limit is automatically increased. It was a good card for re-building my credit.

In my personal opinion, there's nothing special about Merrick Bank... It's just one of many similar products in the very crowded and competitive consumer credit marketplace. I keep the account for now because it serves my purpose to do so in that it provides a backup resource in the event of an emergency or unexpected financial demand. However, with a RIDICULOUS interest rate PLUS a monthly maintenance fee, the account will be closed by year's end.

Merrick bank took a chance with me after bankruptcy. They offered fair terms unlike other banks. Other banks wanted to charge a yearly fee of $75-$90 and charge interest the day the transaction posted. In addition, the credit limit was $300 of which the yearly fee was deducted. Merrick offered a higher credit limit, no yearly fee and 25 days to pay the balance without interest. Really appreciated the fact they offered fair terms to a person recovering from financial hardship.

I am pleased with my credit card account. I obtained it with the understanding that I could help rebuild my credit rating with it, and that if I made my monthly payments on time you would raise my credit limit. I pay my credit card on time or three days early by electronic debit from my checking account. When I checked with Merrick it said payment received and pending. The money was taken from my checking. Three days later I get a late charge and no money deducted from my balance. Man, did I call and hit the roof. She told me my payment was late and I told her to look at her screen where it says processed and paid. She had no answer and said the fix would be a week later. What? a week later when I paid them early? OMG these people are breaking any and all banking laws. I'm turning them in to the attorney general's office for investigation and I suggest you do also. I have other cards from major banks and never had an issue... Beware!

I had gotten some auto work done and went to pay with my Merrick Bank card and it was declined repeatedly even though I knew I had sufficient balance to cover the cost. When I called I found that, due to my recent move out of state, I had not received or activated a new card which put the old card on blocked status. The man who assisted me went out of his way to make this work out for me, getting a supervisor to approve a one day activation of my old card and getting things set up to get the new card sent to my new address. Very helpful, courteous and made things work out for me. Much appreciated!!

I've had a Merrick Bank credit card account for ~ 2 years ago. I'm very frustrated with their customer service. There is no way to contact them via email or chat. The only options are by mail or phone. Seriously? That is so last century! I am unable to make calls during my normal business hours and my other responsibilities make it difficult to make calls at other times.

I have been extremely pleased with Merrick Bank and their services ever since becoming a banking member almost a year ago. They provide the basic essentials for online bill payments. They also have a very excellent fraud department as they called me promptly in response to purchases made on my card that were fraudulent and they resolved the issue swiftly with no issues. I would certainly recommend them to anyone who has had trouble in the past with credit or financial issues, as well as anyone looking for a new bank to use.

I was called and asked if I had charged over 400 dollars at OfficeMax and told them no then was told "Will credit you back and will send an affidavit to sign." Never received it and was sent a letter saying so. Then a letter received with a postmark the next day saying I owed the money since they screwed up and never sent the affidavit. It's always the customer paying huge interest rates and fees-fault. This is the 3rd time in a year I have had this problem, always in Chicago area.

I've never had a problem with Merrick. Statements are accurate and easy to read. Online banking is simple and safe. Mobile banking is extremely convenient and never has bugs or glitches that cause security concerns. Credit limits are raised as credit activity proves customer is responsible in managing their account. I love Merrick and appreciate all they have to offer!!

I like Merrick. The experience is a good one. Though, to be excellent, I would welcome a much higher amount for travel. I recently had a problem where I didn't set up my bank payment account correctly and you didn't receive my payment. I called when I received the e-mail telling me I was late with my payment and immediately called to rectify the situation. I don't recall the person's name, but they were extremely helpful. I made my payment over the phone and fixed my account. I am very happy with your service.

Merrick is a "no frills" credit card. No rewards program or other fancy perks. Their website is also decisively last century. However, with the no annual fee and their willingness to take chances with people with lower credit scores, you get what you "pay for". They will also double your available credit after 7 months of good, on time, payments. I no longer use them as a primary card due to the fact I now have cash back cards, but I will keep them around as an emergency card and for the extended credit history for my score to increase. All in all, they are willing to give you a chance and help if you have less than perfect credit. Their online system does need a serious update though.

It seems that your website is pretty slow and not once I was unable to connect to your server (timed out). When that happens, I had to start all over. Same applies when I try to open my statements, navigate throughout the site. Last night I was unable to make my payment due to reasons above so I had to try this morning. After I submitted my payment connection timed out so I had to login in to make sure that payment was processed. I am happy with your card in general but you should improve your website considering that everything is done there. Thank you.

Overall I'm happy with the experience except that Merrick Bank does not work with Quicken 2016! I'm unable to use Quicken to log in and update my accounts. The only option Merrick Bank offers is to manually download the quicken file which is a pain in the behind. All my other accounts work just fine except Merrick. It's not fun trying to balance my statements at the end of the month.

I was contacted by Merrick via email that my card had a potential fraudulent charge. I confirmed that I had not made the charge and the customer service representative removed the charge and cancelled my card immediately. I was sent a new card within a few days. Thank you Merrick!

Nothing but problems with making payment. Mailed payments to the address on the website, payments never posted. Spoke with customer service, they said it was mailed to the wrong Po box for the type credit card I have, even though that is the address they provided me on my statement. So then I switched to online payment and they took the complete balance I owed instead of the payment I authorized. When I called about the issue I was told by their customer service dept to dispute the charge with my bank to get the balance back. Now I cannot use the online bill payment option. Before I mailed my latest payment in I called customer service and asked them for the CORRECT mailing address to use. Mailed my last payment in 2 weeks ago and as of today it has not been posted. Dejavu...here we go again.

Merrick Bank has locked me out of my Merrick Account Login for no reason. Their website functionality is a little behind the times. You can't even contact them via e-mail. Poor customer service. I cut up my Merrick card and only use my Capital One cards. Consider a Capital One Card instead of becoming a Merrick Bank Customer. Never had a problem with Capital One.

My experience with Merrick Bank has simply been horrible. I honestly feel like this company is run out of somebody's home, which is very scary when your money is involved. Their customer service is incredibly rude and unprofessional. I dealt with a woman named Daja whom didn't know much and she went as far as yelling at me when I asked questions then refusing to answer other questions, like when I asked if this was run out of an office or home. Yes I was frustrated but I never raised my voice or got rude. I even asked for a supervisor and she said she wants to know why I want to speak to supervisor and fought me on transferring me for several minutes.
On another note it took me over three days to make a payment by phone. Every time I got transferred it would either hang up or forward me back to a representative who didn't have any explanation to why it was happening. I also did not receive a statement in the mail which made me past due and to top it off, I had fraud on my card for over $700 which I still don't know if I'm responsible for or not because I was not given a straight answer. I never write reviews but my experience with this company was so beyond horrifying, I felt the need.

Again! I pay my bills each month before they're due. I use my Merrick Bank card a lot. I pay on all my credit cards every payday, and never have a problem! If you borrow money, you should expect to pay interest! This company helps people re-establish a good credit rating! I'm sure thankful to have their card!

The winter is my slow season for work. So (I can not remember exactly which month it was) I made two payments in one month while I had money so I would not have to make a payment when I knew it would be slow the following month. I made two payments in one month to cover two months. Well the following month when I had no money budgeted for this particular bill I get a message saying I had not paid my bill. I called and the customer service rep I had to talk to was extremely RUDE. I was extremely frustrated because I had done my part. She did not talk to me like a person and since then it left a terrible feeling about this company. That is the only real dealing I have had with this company.

I answered survey and pressed send. It read "Could not complete, try again later". Did this twice. I am now on desktop and will do this again. I made an online payment for June. Then paid off a day later. Received statement with a charge of 92 dollars for interest. Called and spoke to lady. She said because billing cycle had closed the day before payment in full was received, interest of 92 dollars was billed. If statement closed, then why does it show both payments? I have been a long time client. Never late. Pay 3 dollars a month just to have this card. I would have hoped that she would have offered to negate this charge for good client relations. Rather she was void of any personality or emotion at all. I would like this interest fee returned, or at least the clear the current 73 dollar balance to make things right (in my eyes). I will keep card open and continue $3 fee, as well as continue to use. This will be appreciated.

Merrick Bank has given me a chance, where other banks never have! Other banks wouldn't even treat me as a respected human being. I have a Fair Credit (due to financial difficulties in the past), and 99% of banks have turned me down. Not only Merrick Bank believed in me and probably believe in second chances, but they also increased my credit line once I reached the 6 months period of paying in time! I have found the online website is very comfortable and made understandable for the non-technically user. The communication by telephone is also user friendly and options very clear and understandable. Audio of numbers is very clear and distinctive with all numbers, for example between number fifty and sixty.

The last couple of times I called customer service with some basic questions about my account they were very rude and unwilling to help. It made me feel like I was pulling teeth just to get a simple explanation out of the rep. Also the tone in which they addressed me with very condescending, I would have asked for a manager or supervisor but they probably talk to their customers the same way as well. This experience made me want to close my account with you guys but I really did not want to affect my credit.

The representative was very knowledgeable and helpful. My biggest complaint is almost every time I go to log onto my account, it refuses to accept my name and password. I have not changed either since I started with your credit card, so I cannot understand why I always need to re-set name and password. Your system has a problem and that concerns me. I don't know what your system problem is, but, as a good and faithful cardholder, I am tired of re-entering all information, and go through personal questions just to log in. Hope you can correct this or I may apply for a different card and look elsewhere.

I worked hard all my life and when the recession hit, my 401 k, savings, investments were wiped out. I sold my blood for food. I could not find a job. Depressed and a failed suicide, my opinion of Wall St and Bankers was actual hatred. I got a part time job at units. My credit was shot. Merrick Bank was the only bank that offered me credit. I am very grateful to have purpose in my life again. Although I feel the high interest charged is making it difficult for all Americans attempting to build their lives again, I am indeed grateful to have one bank have faith in my ability to pay.
