Great customer service and I would definitely recommend to a friend.

Merrick bank took a chance with me after bankruptcy. They offered fair terms unlike other banks. Other banks wanted to charge a yearly fee of $75-$90 and charge interest the day the transaction posted. In addition, the credit limit was $300 of which the yearly fee was deducted. Merrick offered a higher credit limit, no yearly fee and 25 days to pay the balance without interest. Really appreciated the fact they offered fair terms to a person recovering from financial hardship.

Since applying and getting my Merrick credit card I have never disappointed. I have gotten credit line increases without having to ask for them. I would and have highly recommend Merrick to family and friends.

I was very skeptical when I received the offer for the credit card, so I did some research and found only good reviews. I've had the card a little over a year and I am more than pleased with my experience. I have never had to call customer service. This has been the best experience I've ever had with a credit card.

I obtained it with the understanding that I could help rebuild my credit rating with it, and that if I made my monthly payments on time you would raise my credit limit. I pay my credit card on time or three days early by electronic debit from my checking account. When I checked with Merrick it said payment received and pending. The money was taken from my checking. Three days later I get a late charge and no money deducted from my balance. Man, did I call and hit the roof. She told me my payment was late and I told her to look at her screen where it says processed and paid. She had no answer and said the fix would be a week later. What? a week later when I paid them early? OMG these people are breaking any and all banking laws. I'm turning them in to the attorney general's office for investigation and I suggest you do also. I have other cards from major banks and never had an issue... Beware!

I had gotten some auto work done and went to pay with my Merrick Bank card and it was declined repeatedly even though I knew I had sufficient balance to cover the cost. When I called I found that, due to my recent move out of state, I had not received or activated a new card which put the old card on blocked status. The man who assisted me went out of his way to make this work out for me, getting a supervisor to approve a one day activation of my old card and getting things set up to get the new card sent to my new address. Very helpful, courteous and made things work out for me. Much appreciated!!

I've had a Merrick Bank credit card account for ~ 2 years ago. I'm very frustrated with their customer service. There is no way to contact them via email or chat. The only options are by mail or phone. Seriously? That is so last century! I am unable to make calls during my normal business hours and my other responsibilities make it difficult to make calls at other times.

I have been extremely pleased with Merrick Bank and their services ever since becoming a banking member almost a year ago. They provide the basic essentials for online bill payments. They also have a very excellent fraud department as they called me promptly in response to purchases made on my card that were fraudulent and they resolved the issue swiftly with no issues. I would certainly recommend them to anyone who has had trouble in the past with credit or financial issues, as well as anyone looking for a new bank to use.

I was called and asked if I had charged over 400 dollars at OfficeMax and told them no then was told "Will credit you back and will send an affidavit to sign." Never received it and was sent a letter saying so. Then a letter received with a postmark the next day saying I owed the money since they screwed up and never sent the affidavit. It's always the customer paying huge interest rates and fees-fault. This is the 3rd time in a year I have had this problem, always in Chicago area.

I've never had a problem with Merrick. Statements are accurate and easy to read. Online banking is simple and safe. Mobile banking is extremely convenient and never has bugs or glitches that cause security concerns. Credit limits are raised as credit activity proves customer is responsible in managing their account. I love Merrick and appreciate all they have to offer!!

I recently had a problem where I didn't set up my bank payment account correctly and you didn't receive my payment. I called when I received the e-mail telling me I was late with my payment and immediately called to rectify the situation. I don't recall the person's name, but they were extremely helpful. I made my payment over the phone and fixed my account. I am very happy with your service.

Merrick is a "no frills" credit card. No rewards program or other fancy perks. Their website is also decisively last century. However, with the no annual fee and their willingness to take chances with people with lower credit scores, you get what you "pay for". They will also double your available credit after 7 months of good, on time, payments. I no longer use them as a primary card due to the fact I now have cash back cards, but I will keep them around as an emergency card and for the extended credit history for my score to increase. All in all, they are willing to give you a chance and help if you have less than perfect credit. Their online system does need a serious update though.

Merrick has always provided me with stellar service as well as outstanding financial products. Very easy to navigate the website and pay my bill. Would be very nice to add a feature to the website to enable for me to pay my bill with a "debit" card. Other than that, so far no problems.

It seems that your website is pretty slow and not once I was unable to connect to your server (timed out). When that happens, I had to start all over. Same applies when I try to open my statements, navigate throughout the site. Last night I was unable to make my payment due to reasons above so I had to try this morning. After I submitted my payment connection timed out so I had to login in to make sure that payment was processed. I am happy with your card in general but you should improve your website considering that everything is done there. Thank you.

In 3 years I've gotten automatic credit line increase! Never asked and doesn't cost. Thanks Merrick for giving a guy a chance to advance in credit!

Each time I have called the customer service dept they have always been able to immediately help me. More importantly, they are eager to help and don't treat you like number. And that is what really matters in the end to me.

I like this credit card because one of things. They raise your credit limit you are in good standings plus if you need cash is there for you if needed. That's why I would recommend someone.

I called and spoke with a nice and knowledgeable male about a payment that I made that was not posted. He checked and explained that he does see the payment and give it 48 hours to be posted to account. Please note that he was very patient because I did have many questions.

I have only used the automated system for my calls and pay online. Both system is excellent and experience no problems.

Overall I'm happy with the experience except that Merrick Bank does not work with Quicken 2016! I'm unable to use Quicken to log in and update my accounts. The only option Merrick Bank offers is to manually download the quicken file which is a pain in the behind. All my other accounts work just fine except Merrick. It's not fun trying to balance my statements at the end of the month.

Had a problem with my automatic payments but it's resolved.

I was contacted by Merrick via email that my card had a potential fraudulent charge. I confirmed that I had not made the charge and the customer service representative removed the charge and cancelled my card immediately. I was sent a new card within a few days. Thank you Merrick!

Internet banking very effective and secured.

When I called and asked for a card to be issued for my daughter the customer service rep was very informative. She asked if I would like her to be reported to the credit companies which I had not even thought about. What a great idea to establish credit for my daughter. Merrick Bank has always been of great assistance on-line and on the phone.

I think your bank is easy to work with and I have never had a bad experience. Therefore I would recommend it to other people.

One of the easiest credit card companies that I have. Fantastic app and credit line increase.

Nothing but problems with making payment. Mailed payments to the address on the website, payments never posted. Spoke with customer service, they said it was mailed to the wrong Po box for the type credit card I have, even though that is the address they provided me on my statement. So then I switched to online payment and they took the complete balance I owed instead of the payment I authorized. When I called about the issue I was told by their customer service dept to dispute the charge with my bank to get the balance back. Now I cannot use the online bill payment option. Before I mailed my latest payment in I called customer service and asked them for the CORRECT mailing address to use. Mailed my last payment in 2 weeks ago and as of today it has not been posted. Dejavu...here we go again.

Merrick Bank has locked me out of my Merrick Account Login for no reason. Their website functionality is a little behind the times. You can't even contact them via e-mail. Poor customer service. I cut up my Merrick card and only use my Capital One cards. Consider a Capital One Card instead of becoming a Merrick Bank Customer. Never had a problem with Capital One.

My experience with Merrick Bank has simply been horrible. I honestly feel like this company is run out of somebody's home, which is very scary when your money is involved. Their customer service is incredibly rude and unprofessional. I dealt with a woman named Daja whom didn't know much and she went as far as yelling at me when I asked questions then refusing to answer other questions, like when I asked if this was run out of an office or home. Yes I was frustrated but I never raised my voice or got rude. I even asked for a supervisor and she said she wants to know why I want to speak to supervisor and fought me on transferring me for several minutes.

Again! I pay my bills each month before they're due. I use my Merrick Bank card a lot. I pay on all my credit cards every payday, and never have a problem! If you borrow money, you should expect to pay interest! This company helps people re-establish a good credit rating! I'm sure thankful to have their card!

The winter is my slow season for work. So (I can not remember exactly which month it was) I made two payments in one month while I had money so I would not have to make a payment when I knew it would be slow the following month. I made two payments in one month to cover two months. Well the following month when I had no money budgeted for this particular bill I get a message saying I had not paid my bill. I called and the customer service rep I had to talk to was extremely RUDE. I was extremely frustrated because I had done my part. She did not talk to me like a person and since then it left a terrible feeling about this company. That is the only real dealing I have had with this company.

I was traveling and forgot to notify them my transaction was declined but as soon as I contacted them they helped with my transaction and was able to finish shopping.

I called because of a denial on my credit card. I had not received the new one sent out. The customer service representative was very helpful! He was very kind. And a new card is being sent out.

I answered survey and pressed send. It read "Could not complete, try again later". Did this twice. I am now on desktop and will do this again. I made an online payment for June. Then paid off a day later. Received statement with a charge of 92 dollars for interest. Called and spoke to lady. She said because billing cycle had closed the day before payment in full was received, interest of 92 dollars was billed. If statement closed, then why does it show both payments? I have been a long time client. Never late. Pay 3 dollars a month just to have this card. I would have hoped that she would have offered to negate this charge for good client relations. Rather she was void of any personality or emotion at all. I would like this interest fee returned, or at least the clear the current 73 dollar balance to make things right (in my eyes). I will keep card open and continue $3 fee, as well as continue to use. This will be appreciated.

Merrick Bank has given me a chance, where other banks never have! Other banks wouldn't even treat me as a respected human being. I have a Fair Credit (due to financial difficulties in the past), and 99% of banks have turned me down. Not only Merrick Bank believed in me and probably believe in second chances, but they also increased my credit line once I reached the 6 months period of paying in time! It would be helpful if payments are reflected in accounts, as pending, when made through automatic transfer.

The online application is safe and secure, and very convenient, making it easier for me to keep my account in good standing. That is what matters most, to be this something not all card services do a good job at. I especially like having the ability to setup re-occurring payments.

I have found the online website is very comfortable and made understandable for the non-technically user. The communication by telephone is also user friendly and options very clear and understandable. Audio of numbers is very clear and distinctive with all numbers, for example between number fifty and sixty.

Sent my payment before it was due. Merrick did not apply my payment until 2 1/2 weeks after, then charged me a late fee. Not happy at all. Will be paying off my balance and canceling my card.

The last couple of times I called customer service with some basic questions about my account they were very rude and unwilling to help. It made me feel like I was pulling teeth just to get a simple explanation out of the rep. Also the tone in which they addressed me with very condescending, I would have asked for a manager or supervisor but they probably talk to their customers the same way as well. This experience made me want to close my account with you guys but I really did not want to affect my credit.

The representative was very knowledgeable and helpful. My biggest complaint is almost every time I go to log onto my account, it refuses to accept my name and password. I have not changed either since I started with your credit card, so I cannot understand why I always need to re-set name and password. Your system has a problem and that concerns me. I don't know what your system problem is, but, as a good and faithful cardholder, I am tired of re-entering all information, and go through personal questions just to log in. Hope you can correct this or I may apply for a different card and look elsewhere.

They caught someone using my credit card for purchase and notified me immediately knowing possibly it wasn't me and thank god they did and handled the situation with utmost expedience and professionalism.

It is convenient. Your credit rising is great, but the interest on cash withdrawal is ridiculous. When I pay my balance off, I will not use it as much as I used to.

I worked hard all my life and when the recession hit, my 401 k, savings, investments were wiped out. I sold my blood for food. I could not find a job. Depressed and a failed suicide, my opinion of Wall St and Bankers was actual hatred. I got a part time job at units. My credit was shot. Merrick Bank was the only bank that offered me credit. I am very grateful to have purpose in my life again. Although I feel the high interest charged is making it difficult for all Americans attempting to build their lives again, I am indeed grateful to have one bank have faith in my ability to pay.

I wish the payment postings were a little more quicker but all in all this has been a good card for me.

Simple to log in - made payment - no trouble. Would recommend to a friend if asked about credit card.

Though Merrick was able to issue me a credit card at my current billing address and I received and used it. However, all of a sudden, my card started declining because of address issues. (Note in first sentence I said I received a card at my current billing address.) No one explained to me that a chip card was being mailed to me and my current card was null and void until about the fourth time. Finally they decided to give me a questionnaire which was oh so ridiculous and I failed the questionnaire about myself because of my MOST POPULAR LAST NAME that I had to go through the rigmarole of verifying myself.

Paid more than my minimum and was told to give copy of my balance of what I had in my bank. Should not matter what I pay, the money was there and it was taking out of my account on 6/15/16.

I am happy to be a customer with Merrick Bank. I love that I received double my credit limit after 6 months of on-time payments. My main suggestion is for the CSR's to always make sure they are answering the question they have been asked. It is not a good feeling to feel like a number or like I am talking to a robot!

Merrick Bank offered me a Card with no annual fee after I went through a divorce and bankruptcy! The only group to offer a card that helped me instead of offering a deal that made me in debt off the bat with fees and surcharges plus outrageous interest rate! I have built my credit back the right way with the help of Merrick Bank, and I am taking time to do this because of their help and I thank them for that!

67 out of 68 on time payments equal a "FAIR" rating! My only late payment was in 2014, the month I had a stroke! At the time of my stroke, I was single. After suffering a brain bleed, a coma, and months of therapy... It took a month before family could decipher who I owed, when and how much. My Merrick account went over due 30 days before my family realized its existence. Thus 67 on time payments out of 68! Merrick refuses to excuse or remove the late payment from my credit report despite medical proof! They refuse to update the status to "good" at 99% on time payments from "fair" at 98.5% of on time payments. All of which are causing me credit woes when credit is needed for medical necessities - Heartless Robots is all I reach!??

Hello, I recently called because I had paid off my entire balance so when I received an email that I owed I believe $6 I called you all to see why. I was told that I get charged a monthly $6 fee. Of course I am not happy about it at all. I asked if I could get that taken off my account and the lady said no I couldn't. This makes me not want to use my card or use it as much as another card I have that doesn't charge me a monthly fee.

Recently, I just noticed they changed my due date and I thought I always paid on time but nope, they been taking late fees from me so many time. For example, my due date was on Jan 30 then they slowly change it to Feb 25, then June 23.

They gave me a second chance with a credit card and now the responsibility is on me. They raised my limit as promised and have been very helpful. Thank you!

Merrick Bank promised to double my credit limit after paying on time for seven months. The bank followed through with its promise! Since I declared bankruptcy 10 years ago and I'm rebuilding my credit history, I'm very appreciative that Merrick Bank has given me the opportunity to show my credit worthiness.

I find that even though I mail my payment on time, to get there when due, they seem to deliberately open it the day after it is due, sometimes, just to charge me a late fee. I am really fed up. I may quit them. I saw someone else that had had that problem on a Review for them.

The webpage is the only contact that I have had with Merrick Bank, and that has so far been satisfactory. The website has functioned well. The speed has been good, the page layout has been good, the navigation has been insightful, and the access has been well available when I have wanted to use the site. I have no complaints about the site or Merrick Bank at this point, and I consider myself a satisfied customer, and I would recommend Merrick to my friends and family.

For the time that I have talk to a banker, I have had a great experience. Yes I would recommend to my friends and family.

Both accounts were denied and had I not been watching to see if the accounts were being paid, I would have had late payments. I called Merrick to see why. Did not get a get a very understandable reason. I have since withdrawn these accounts and placed them with another credit company. One account I had placed with Merrick Bank was accepted. So why not the other two.

Merrick Bank's Visa card was a tremendous blessing that allowed me to be able to help someone in family in a very tight situation. Bill payment access, point of service seamless use and its flexible advanced credit offering are amazing!

I called in to ask about a lower APR since I had good payment history and I was told that Merrick Bank does not offer a lower APR. Once I pay this account off I'm closing it. It's no benefit for me.

I love having this card. I can always check my balance and pay online, which is so GREAT! After paying on time, Merrick Bank increased my credit line and that was wonderful. I would recommend them to everyone.

I love Merrick Bank. They was there for me when no one else would give me a second chance. I would advise anyone to give them a try. You may be surprised that you did and when it came time for my seven month review with on time payments I didn't have to balk and ask them for an increase. It was automatically done.

I have not had any bad experiences or issues with this card, however I do not use it much. This is because I have other credit cards that offer me rewards and I choose to use those cards for their valuable benefits. If this was provided with my Merrick credit card I would use it regularly.

I'm grateful that they gave me a chance to re-establish my credit after my bankruptcy. I just wish that once I carried out my payments on time and for more than needed I could get the interest rate lowered to a manageable rate. I would not want to consider a different card because of this. But I do thank them for giving me a chance.

I had some major trouble with credit in the past and was shy about starting a line of credit again with any bank. I knew in order to rebuild my credit I would have to find a decent credit card that could help me build but not charge me ridiculous fees or interests rates. I have had nothing but positive experiences with using Merrick Bank. I was at a point where I was serious about managing my finances in a grown up way, and Merrick Bank supported that. Less than two years of opening an account with them I had rebuilt my credit enough to buy a house! My credit is better now where I have access to higher tiers of credit but I still keep my Merrick account open. I think it is for sentimental reasons.

I've never had problems. I think the only thing I don't love is the monthly fee and the rather high interest rate. Instead of increasing my credit line drop my interest rate.

The bank has provided excellent service, increased my spending limit as promised. I am 100% satisfied.

Merrick Visa - Very pleased with the whole experience.

I paid 450 on a account balance of 550. They are holding my funds for 11 days. They are ripoffs and thieves with the interest rate and the holding of funds. I will be paying this card off and sticking with my Capital One. Thieves.
