    I have asked these people to stop calling me for weeks now. They don’t stop it has been anywhere from 2 to 4 times a day. A total nuisance. Non stop all day long!! I have asked them to take me off their call list but they obviously don’t care. They like to be a pain in the **.

    My mother is in a program with JG Wentworth right now and she's had good experience so I went with them. Everything has actually gone so smoothly, and everybody has been very helpful. If I call the 800 number, it's pretty simple, and people are very helpful. A few of my accounts have been settled already. We're still in the settlement process, but so far, I’m very pleased with what they have been able to negotiate. Overall everything has gone so smoothly.

    The worst company I have dealt with. I think you're doing gonna be a good company to help me with my debt. The only thing they did was frustrate me. Not communicate and kept money that they were initially supposed to return to me. I don't see how people can do. This to people who are already struggling will never do it again. Think twice before using them for any of your financial needs

    Dealing with this company has been like herding cats! I’ve talked to probably 30 people and three or four supervisors. Some give a crap, some don’t and I’m told a different story by all. I had two American Express cards. One had $22,000 and some change. The other one had $5000 and some change and I had a small debt with my bank left for about $6000 which I have been paying on all, never Miss payments, etc. etc. but American Express are **. It wouldn’t even lower my rate For just six months and give me a break but they wouldn’t do it and that’s why I hired JG Wentworth. I told him do not touch my Bank Of America but they did. I had to go back in after being told they wouldn’t and it wouldn’t affect my bank because I said I’ve been with them for 25 years. I’ve been with American Express for 30 both as a solid client.

    After putting in $17,000 very quickly into my supposed savings account that was supposed to help me out to negotiate my rates down and before I said yes to the negotiation rates on the first card I asked does that include your fees. It was negotiated down to like $18,000 and I thought oh my God that’s great. They saved me like over four grand. No they didn’t because he was now wrong, told me the wrong thing. They took over $4000 out of it for themselves before paying my creditors. They say it shows a zero balance so I called American Express yesterday. She still shows $11,000 left to them my small card of my American Express. They’ve been paying $50 a month $50 a month but they waited till just a couple months ago to start paying them so that your credit goes down so bad because nobody’s paying them at all for months but they’re still pulling out three to $400 out of my checking on top of the $17,000. Where is this money going?

    Question question question nobody really wants to answer that unethical at every level and now I have to get an attorney involved really because the fact I’m in debt I needed help. This wasn’t helpful. I ended up paying them so far as much as I owed on my credit card debt so note to self never ever ever hindsight 2020 I would’ve gotten a chapter 7 if I had to do this again, but my debt my problem to take care of and I’m not lazy and I’m no mooch, but this is so wrong every level and the only reason they have a good star rating is because the first phone call you know the big sales person that smashes you makes you feel all comfortable and then you can never get a hold of them and they pan you off to other people that don’t give a shit that are working out of our house.

    Number number one you can’t understand most of them. Number two. Some of them were just too busy shaving their legs. I just got up from a nap. The baby screaming in the background or the dog barking. It’s been super great super great makes you feel really solid. Not at all. I’ve had it. I don’t care if I spend my last time, but I’m suing the shit out of them. Don’t ever use them.

    14 months and only half of the accounts are settled. Someone came to my house and served me from Chase just last month. I called into JG Wentworth and they said send the summons to them. I did, then the lawyers THEY use for their policy send me a court filing bill. I called in and they just give me fine print answers. There is a reason comments are turned off on their YouTube videos, etc. Avoid. Do National or anything else. If not, when your Lease is up and you want a new car, you'll regret it. When you need to get a loan for your business years later, you'll regret it.

    I’m very disappointed with their customer service. Someone called me and I was met with complete unprofessionalism. The representative was dismissive and actually told me, “you don’t have other options.” That is not only rude, but also shows a lack of respect for customers. A company should be focused on finding solutions, not making people feel stuck or unheard. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend them to anyone who expects to be treated with basic courtesy and professionalism.

    My JG Wentworth agent, Joshua, was experienced and he told me what to expect. I'm trying to get used to the calls from the creditors but he said that was going to happen. For example, if my wife and kids are in the car, they'd be like, "Who is it that keeps calling?" It shows up on the screen. Just random times. Then I got to the point where they call different numbers. I talked to my agent, then he said, "Just block them and they'll just leave a message." He said, "It's understandable. They're gonna try to do what they can."

    So I just told him, "Can y'all work on getting these ones that's calling the most? Can you try to settle with them or contact them and let them know?" I guess you can't really say faster process because it's to settle debt. That's the only thing I would say. But everything else, the communication with JG was good. I already made payments so my job is done. So the people that I have that I'm paying for, they may be contacted to let them know, "Okay, we're gonna make payments to you. Don't reach out to our client." Now, the creditors call me on Saturdays. I didn't know they were open on Saturdays.

    JG Wentworth is helping me with debt relief. I wasn't able to pull myself back up out of the substantial debt that I was in. I had done it once, and I wound up having another due to a family crisis that just created another whirlwind of debt. The individual I worked with on the first day had so much humility, and he was just very understanding and nonjudgmental.

    I'm in the second month into the program and I'm really pleased that they came back already with one of my debts having a settlement. I only had three. And that just means that once the settlements are curated and agreed upon, at that point then, we all move on with our lives, and then I just simply will be paying what I owe.

    JG said I will be slated for five years, but I can pay it off sooner if I feel like I can afford to pay more than what the settlement amount or the monthly savings allotment is. Also, it varies on the capacity of JG being able to talk to the creditors and to be able to come to a resolution as to how much debt will be able to be written off and how much debt I still have to be held accountable for.

    Things are working out very well, and I feel like the rest of it will work out just as well.

    I was trying to get a consolidation loan where I wouldn't have to do debt settlement after I had to leave my job that I had been at for seven years because of a disability. But I didn't qualify for any of the consolidation loans. When I talked to my credit cards directly, they said they couldn't offer me any assistance until I was delinquent. That's why I looked into the debt settlement as a last resort.

    Jason, the man at JG Wentworth, was very clear and very patient. He answered all of my questions. I didn't feel like I was being given the runaround or being pressured, so I chose to go with them. They were more patient and understanding as far as me wanting to ask a million questions before I committed to anything.

    I just started the program. They literally just took the first payment out a couple of days ago. Hopefully it works the way that they say. They told me a certain amount of equity has to be built up in the account before they'll start negotiating with the credit card companies. So far, I'm very happy with their customer service and the people I've talked to.

    Worst experience that I have ever had, I had one account that I was overwhelmed with and wanted to see if gong this route would be better. The sales rep made me feel comfortable and like this was the best decision, however, even though I stressed that I was seeking this avenue so that I would not take a hit on my credit things were never clearly explained to me. I was under the impression that they would start working on the settlement as soon as I signed the paperwork but they did not start until 4 months later. By then my credit score drop over 100 points which then cause other creditors to lower some of my credit limits or close my account which caused my credit to decrease more.

    Today I am struggling to get any credit do to my now poor credit score and although my enrolled debt will be paid off next year I will still be paying JG for another year for their fees. I feel like I was completely scammed and taken advantage of. I am in worse shape now than I was prior to signing up with JG. I do not recommend this company and have a lawyer read everything before moving forward with them.

I go to my account and it's not a problem at all. Customer support was also easy.     I kept seeing JG Wentworth on TV and I just tried it. The enrollment process requires that you owe more than $10,000, as they work within those parameters to negotiate with your creditors, potentially reducing interest to just the principal amount. As for their customer support, I find them quite engaged and helpful, though my experience with them is still fresh.

    So far, in my interaction, they have reached settlements on 2 out of the 7 debts I had. The process is relatively slow since they have to negotiate each settlement individually. Once a settlement is reached, they communicate it via email for my approval. While the pace may be slower than I hoped, it feels more comprehensive and effective compared to other companies I’ve dealt with in the past.

    Overall, it’s early days with the program, but I'm hopeful about the progress. Having tried them, I appreciate the start they’ve given in navigating and settling some of the debts.

    I was trying to get a emergency loan and JG Wentworth popped up. I was thinking about consolidating some of my loans anyway, so I went along with them. The enrollment process was pretty smooth. I talked to Capri, and she asked me a few questions. She looked at my debt, then she consolidated one large loan and two credit cards. I had to pay upfront $250 and $125 every week until they came up with a settlement. And they came up with a settlement for OneMain Financial. Everything is fine so far and I've been pretty good with tracking my progress. If anything changes, they email me instantly and there is no waiting. Once they got the settlement for OneMain Financial, they emailed me on how much they settled for and how much my monthly payment for that settlement would be.

    At this particular moment, working with JG Wentworth is reducing my credit so that I could pay back my loans, my overdrawn loans, my personal loan, and two credit cards that are in the fall. So they helped me save about $5,000 out of a little over $9,900 loan and I can't complain about that. As far as communication, if I have a question, I can reach out to Capri personally through her email or phone number and, she contacts me instantly. Also, I was getting phone calls from the OneMain Financial thing and they said it would take about 60 days for the settlement to go through. But it took a little less than 60 days and I was happy with that.

    They paid the smallest accounts and left the big ones to take me to court. Judgements were made and I ended up having to file bankruptcy. Nothing was paid off in the 6 months I was in the program. They just kept holding my money and then when I left they never refunded me.

    Updated on 07/08/2025: I was able to settled my debts on my own and get away from this company before they did more damage to my credit score. There is a special place for everyone who works there.

    Original Review: I really screwed myself over working with this company, only to get a settlement less than I was promised on the initial call with the sales lady because that is all she was. After contracts were signed all communication to her after was not answered. I should have known better when she tried to add my sister's debt on top of mine's to get her enrolled in the program.

    I initially just wanted a loan to consolidate all my debt when I was contacted by this program. My credit score was good but with interest on some of my accounts, I knew I would never be able to pay them off. I was told to stop paying my creditors, pay into their account, and was given an amounts that they could settle them down to. Some I knew were too good to be true but I decided to proceed anyway. It has been about 3 to 4 months, and I am so done with the program. My credit score has tanked almost 80 points according to some sites.

    I was expecting to have a person that I can talk to directly about negotiations or other questions I may have but the only contact is the call center where you get a different person every time whose knowledge is limited outside of the scripts they are given to read off. Imagine having to go through a "negotiation strategy call” with someone who is getting secondhand information. Tell them your concerns, they can only repeat what they are told or make notes in your account for a “negotiator’ to answer via them. Hours for this call center is limited to basically 9 to 5 so catch them while you can. You would think for a program like this they would want people to feel at ease or at least have a call center with longer hours.

    In the end I wish I could have just gone with a loan to consolidate all my debt like I originally planned. My credit score has tanked so badly. I am scared of coming into an issue where I must finance something and I won't get approved or must pay a high payment with high interest. I never had that problem before this program. I removed two accounts off the program and the one settlement I did receive and ended up accepting due to the threat of legal action by a third party. That was only about 1500 off my original balance. I could have negotiated that myself without the fee and the hit to my credit score. I am waiting on them to settle my second account so I can be done with them I just want to be done with this. This was a big mistake. I would not recommend it, especially if you have a good credit score among other things.

    They canned my credit score more than I did. They tell you don't pay your cards or loan so they can get the other company to lower amount owed. I listened, my score went from 698 to a 515. They called after seeing I can make my payments to them on time, offering me a loan program, then denied me for the loan. It was supposed to help fix my credit score, but their underwriter only offers that to certain demographics. BE CAREFUL when dealing with them.

    JG Wentworth has been marvelous. I get loans to consolidate my bills, and they were, “Oh, we can do this and this,” and they did exactly what they said they were going to do and in a very timely manner. Getting signed up with them was a piece of cake, and they took care of everything. They gave me my account number, told me I’m set up, and that I could check online any time I need to check.

    The only thing that they could have done was I had one account that had two autopays, and they did not mention autopays, and I never thought about it. Then, when the time came, the autopays were still in force and they took it out of my account. When you are trying to get all caught up, you forget certain things and I did forget to pay, so they took it out automatically. So, I had to call Citibank and rearrange that. But, overall, they have been good.

    Go with a company that actually loans you the money to pay off your debt. Your score will tank as you accrue your own money and they can’t guarantee a settlement. They never resolved one of my cards after two years and suddenly I got served papers to pay the debt that had been in consolidation with them. I had no idea they hadn’t reached an agreement. Not only did they not reach an agreement but they cost me an extra $3000 in interest that I now also have to pay. I almost had to go to court for something I thought was handled and I was paying a lot to them to be handled. Not to mention the embarrassment of the STATE POLICE showing up to my house with court papers. No communication. Terrible experience. Run from this company.

    I wanted stuff to get paid off because my creditors were chasing me around. I looked online to find some way to borrow some money to pay off my debts like I did with Update. I borrowed the money and paid off my debts once, and I owe them money now. JG Wentworth popped up and I talked to the guy, and it seems substantial, but now I'm beginning to wonder.

    The guys who worked with me were really helpful. They told me that if any of my creditors call me, I just have to give the phone number of JG Wentworth, but they didn't tell me what I'm supposed to say. They're helpful when I call them. They told me not to worry about anything, so I'm trying not to do that, but I can see my credit rate going down. They said it would go down, but when they started making the payments to the company, it would go back up. I started with them in February and what they took out of my check, it would take about 2.5 years to pay back.

    I needed to get rid of my bills, and I had a couple people that went through JG Wentworth Debt Relief. Their program is good, and I have less bills now. James went over what I had owed on my credit cards and then he came up with the payment.     I was completely naïve to how any of this works. I always paid my debts however the balances were so high that I had no quality of life. I enrolled in August 2024 and I was mislead to think this was a debt management program that would help me settle my debt within 4 - 6 months. I have called multiple times for updates on the negotiations that are happening my accounts and the calls get disconnected. The last time I called, the rep hung up on me. There doesn't seem to be anyone there who can describe a clear plan on how they are going to get any of the debts settled, just pay them and let all accounts go delinquent.

    When I went online to check my account with JG Wentworth the site says that one of the debts was settled and they are making monthly payments, however according to my credit report pulled today it was charged off and no payments have been made. I didn't even know what a "charge off" meant until last week due to researching on my own. As of now (April 2025), none of my debts have been settled and now my credit is completely ruined.

    I was not making any headway on my own, so I went for JG Wentsworth. They helped me get on a repayment program and negotiated down my balances and my interest rates.     I’m very pleased with them because they allow us to get out from underneath the enslavement of the debt, and so they are good, and they are working on it. I’m still getting notices from Capital One, and when I get called, I tell them that I am with JG Wentworth. I’m very happy with them, and I would recommend them. In fact, I recommended them to my assistant already.

    I knew that they were a good, strong, and stable company because I knew that they did forward cash for people that had a settlement coming. I’ve seen their advertising. If you are going to be getting 400 grand and you need 100 now, and if they can verify that you are getting that, they will front you some money. They charge interest, but I was aware of it. Kevin was very thorough and patient, and they are getting me out of a jam and saving me a lot of money.

    I am like anyone else in this past four years with what is going on. A couple of years ago we did six figures. I was talking to other associates, and I was saying, “Where’s the money? I don’t live extravagantly. I live in a nice place. I eat organic food. But I’m not out buying stuff left and right. I got an old car. Where is it?

    The money is being stolen from me through inflation. Things that used to be $2 are now $3,.75, and it adds up. And the other thing is one of the cards, the minimum payment was 130. I paid 500. Barely moved the needle. And then all of a sudden, JG Wentworth came across and I made a phone call. I told myself this was it. They knocked two grand off the top. 14 something, and now it is 12. And then I’m going to pay it off sooner, and as you pay down more, maybe they shorten the time. Overall, it is a really good program.

    I signed up for this program and received a letter from one creditor offering to cut about 75% of the debt owed. After much convincing, JG Wentworth instructed me NOT TO ACCEPT this offer, stating they can beat that offer. SEVERAL MONTHS LATER, I receive an email from JG Wentworth stating they have a settlement offer from that same creditor but could only cut the debt to about 45%. JG Wentworth would not offer an explanation and essentially lied to me. With the difference, I could've used that money to pay off several other debts! With the JG Wentworth fees and increasing interest fees accumulating, I am now seeking help from other debt management companies.

    Save yourself the stress. Negotiate with creditors yourself. The whole experience with JG Wentworth has been an exercise in frustration. I finally canceled my service and have been waiting over a month for the money I paid in to be refunded. I've called, I've emailed, still haven't seen my money.     Stay away of JG Wentworth - SCAM Per JG - July and August of 2024 I had to skip my deposits, which caused me to be behind 3 payments RESPONSE - I had a balance at that time of over 500.00 and never missed a single payment to the creditors. My portal never showed an issue. I confirmed several times with JG that all was in order and all the way to February 2025 confirmed again all was good and 3 payments left in the program. Per JG February 2025 change in escrow payment date and due to this change, there did not have enough funds in their escrow account to make the scheduled payment to the creditors. RESPONSE - This not accurate. I had 644.00 in Escrow. Per JG This caused the settlements to break. RESPONSE - The payment change was ONE DAY. My employer changed the pay schedule from twice a month to every other Friday. I had 3 payments left with the Portal showing all is order.

    I called and confirmed several times all is good and 3 payments left. Now they are stringing me along to pay more money. JG backed out of settlement with my creditors when the portal shows I always carried a balance and no payments were missed. They told me they have stopped paying the creditors and need to negotiate a new settlement with me continuing to pay them now with no end in site. Please explain how when I skipped three deposits (still had over 500.00 balance in escrow and all payments to creditors were made) 7 months later when I am almost finished paying that now JG backed out of agreed settlement and wants more money from me. I have been taken advantaged of and scammed. I have paid into this program since 2022 and all the JG fees have been paid Once the settlement agreed upon I never missed a payment to the creditors.

    I had 644.00 in escrow with three more payments of 240.00 each. (1364.00) There was plenty in escrow and JG could have made the payments to my creditors. They did not stick to the original settlement and stopped paying my creditors. Once the settlements agreed upon I never missed a payment to the creditors. JG backed out after 7 months with the Portal showing all was in order taking advantage of now that we were close to the end to have me keep paying with no end in sight.

So, I signed a contract with JG Wentworth that I understand that they are taking on the responsibility for the payments and that I’m still under liability because the debts will remain in my name through the process.     I entered into the JG Wentworth program at the beginning of 2024. It was for 3 years. I paid the whole year, and as of January 2025, I was able to pay off this program 2 years early. JG Wentworth accepted my payment of over 10k and has done nothing to resolve my debt with creditors. I am now getting paperwork for court proceedings. Every time you call them, you have to start over with a new operator. You will never be able to speak with any of the negotiations team.

    Where is my money JG Wentworth? Am I going to have to obtain legal counsel because you have my money in limbo? I was told when I paid this loan off on your recorded line that it would take 4-6 weeks to pay my creditors. Why am I now having the added stress of facing legal repercussions because you fail to release my money to the people I owe it to? Let alone talk to me. You send emails urging people to pay extra to get their bills paid off, and when someone like me does, you sit on my money and remain silent.

    If I could make give them a negative star I would. I've been with them since 2023 and it has been non stop headaches and bull. There are lots they tell you when trying to sell you their service that is just a bunch of bull. They say, "Well I can't guarantee of course, but with my experiences and how we group several people together by the Cc company, etc.. I can confidently tell you that we will settle for around 50-55%." Then they charge 20%. Now the reality. They first have you wait until the cards go delinquent before negotiating, then the amounts of debt have risen in fines and interest. Then when they do finally settle it ends up to be between 60-70% of the NEW amount after all the fines, etc.

    My experience with them by my calculation is it has cost me more than the original amount owed in total, but my credit is now trash (I know that it would be but had decided to take the credit hit to settle at 75% of my total debt). In addition you are told, "Oh yeah you can send extra money and payoff an account early if you desire." But they don't tell you that any payout is more than the amount left in your escrow and the amount still owed to creditors. It's like they penalize you for leaving them early to save on their lawyer fee deposit and account administration fees. I have now contacted the remain creditors that were not negotiated yet and found there are lots of programs because of covid that your creditors will work with you and it will for sure cost MUCH less in the end, which goes without saying the saved headache of trying to deal with these people.

    I initially looked at debt consolidation and I saw that JG Wentworth had the debt resolution. I talked to them about it and it seemed like a good way to deal with what I had.     I consolidated my debt after recovering from an accident. It was convenient at first. A few months in to my program I started receiving calls, text and emails multiple times a day to get a loan through a company they work with. After feeling almost forced into it with assurance I would almost surely get it, I was denied fast and took a hard credit it. After this I decided to just pay my debts in entirety by myself. I was promised by MULTIPLE agents if I paid nearly $10,000 in full that ALL of my debts would be SETTLED in 90 days. It has now been 6 months past that time. I’ve been calling and talking to the creditors myself to get them to reach out to JG Wentworth. They creditors said they were never contacted. I did the work myself and for the last debt the needed more money so they could make $700 to pay $900 and I did all the work! I repeatedly called an tried to talk to supervisors and was denied.

    When I was finally able to talk to one I was assured I’d be called back that day with an update on their lies. The supervisor actually told me she doesn’t know where the people working on my case were. No one tells her if they quit or have a baby. Anyway, she never called back. I called 3 days later and was told she had lost service. I’ve talked to 50 people there and each one has had a different lie and outright accused me of making things up. Mind you they record everything. HUGE SCAM!!!

    My experience with JG Wentworth Debt Relief started when I found them online. They've been really nice, but I recently had concerns about the program. They took my first payment out of my account and the lady called me with the welcome call. I asked some questions and figured out that the process wasn’t what I expected, as they address one creditor at a time, leaving others on hold, which feels risky to me. However, I did pay extra for legal coverage.

    JG Wentworth's communication and customer service have been excellent. The staff walked me through stuff and stayed in contact, following up and sending me emails. I can't blame them for the misunderstanding because it's my fault for not reading everything, but the lady that I talked to recently was not helpful at all. I'm not 100% that I'm gonna continue with the program and I am gonna talk to somebody else to see if they run their program the same way. I wanna do what's gonna cover me the most.

    Overall, I would rate my experience a 4 out of 5. The people are great to deal with, but the misunderstanding about their services makes me cautious about continuing with the program.

    My mom and I signed up for this debt relief on December 24, 2024. We have been trying to cancel since December 26, 2024. Our Rep. John ** said he was unable to cancel these accounts. They keep giving us the runaround and both accounts are scheduled to be ACH debited on January 20th. We have left several messages. No one will return our calls or emails. When we call, they keep trying to transfer us to another call, which leads to long wait time and then the phone will eventually disconnect. I don't know what kind of scam this is, but it doesn't look good for this company. I will continue to send these reviews and report them to BBB until they cancel my contracts. Please do not sign up with this company. They are very unreliable.

    I have faithfully paid the monthly payment for well over a year and yet JG Wentworth massively and completely botched the negotiations with my biggest credit card vendor that resulted in a judgement against me. JG Wentworth had intentionally ignored the SIX separate email inquiries, demands and communications by me. They respond to an initial email saying “We got your email,” then nothing happens at all for weeks. JG Wentworth is a complete fraud and no one should do business with them. They make promises to their clients, then breach their duties and responsibilities to their clients. If I could give a -5 star review, that still wouldn’t be enough.     DON'T DO IT! I filled out a simple form online and within seconds a representative had called me, after a presentation of 45 mins, I was a bit hesitant. (Should have went with my gut) But I asked if I could take a day to think about it and as a typical salesman wouldn't take no for an answer and promised me I could CANCEL AT ANY TIME!

    A few weeks go by and I got a raise at work and some other things fell into place where I thought I didn't need the debt relief program anymore, plus after reading a lot of bad reviews of people still getting sued no matter what I decided I was going to cancel. I called multiple times, got the run around on the phone, could never get transferred to the correct department. Was told if I leave a voicemail they will go ahead and cancel it. Kept calling to confirm never could get anyone to help me. The first payment was still pulled from my bank account, and I had to call my bank and cancel my bank account. Lucky I'm only out $285, But I'm still calling every single day.

    Today was a breaking point, Talked to the first representative, told them I have left voicemails, and keep getting the run around and even at one point they just transferred me back to the main menu where it was like "Thanks for calling JG Wentworth press 1 for.... press 2 for...." I called back right away, talked to someone different they said they would get a "person on the line to help", 2 mins go by and I heard a weird "beep" and they hung up on me!!!

    They will pressure you into signing up, and won't let you think about it. and promise you that you can cancel at any time. But will ghost you and never respond when you actually need to talk to someone. Now I'm told I need to call Arnold and Smith Law, which they never answer the phone and have left multiple voicemails with as well.

    I heard about JG Wentworth years ago. I never thought it applied to me but I've been hitting walls on this financial situation. I was just gonna tell the rep I don't need the services but we started talking. I was thinking maybe I needed it and we kept talking. He looked at my numbers and said this could work for me. I’m still paying the bills. Initially, the process was good because the sales guy helped me realize I needed their services. So, I put my pride aside and went forth.

    The sales guy was fine putting everything together. However, I am having a problem. He pulled my credit and what was on my credit report populated into my account online. I looked at it and it was missing the air conditioning bill that I pay. So I said I wanna add it in. I have no way of getting back to the salesperson so it was just back office at this point. And no one was at home. They may be home but somebody across the country might be answering the phone and I was not feeling warm and fuzzy about it because I've had three phone calls to them. The last one was good but the customer service reps were a little sketchy.

    One guy asked me to fill out a form and I did. Then, they told me to send my paperwork. I uploaded everything but I'm not hearing anything. And I need to hear because my first payment will be pulled out next week. So the payment is probably gonna go up because I just added 10 grand. So, I need to know how much. I spoke with someone yesterday and I'm keeping my fingers crossed that she's gonna follow through. She said she was gonna send me an email today. I haven't seen that email, but it's fine. I understand the 24 to 48 hours on any customer service thing and I need to give them that kind of space. If people are struggling to make ends meet, JG Wentworth might work for them to just take some pressure off. People should check it out and see. If not, I get it.

    I have been making payments for 6 months and only 2 of the 10 creditors have been settled. I have received a settle agreement for a third creditor and JG Wentworth has not been making the payments to them, therefore the agreement is now void. I tried calling and they said they would call back and never did. I am not sure what is going on, but they are paying themselves their fees first and not paying the scheduled payment plan for the most recently approved new reduced balance. They have missed three payments, and no one is getting back to me.

    I started with JG Wentworth when I was looking for a debt consolidation loan. I ended up speaking with JG Wentworth and it seemed like a good idea. So I started the program. I was told that I would make a payment of $193.XX every two weeks to go into an account to pay down these debts which was fine. I was also told to not pay the creditor and to ignore all of the creditors calls. I have been doing both things. I started on around 8/29/2024. As of the date of this post (11/30/2024) I have received 0 updates as to what is happening with my account and the phone calls are still coming in all day long constantly. When I call JG Wentworh they say that with what I have paid so far my account balance is $0.03 (3 months later and paying $193.XX every two weeks) and they have to wait until more money is build up to start negotiating with the creditors. It was not mentioned that a certain amount needed to be built up before they started negotiating on my behalf.

    Now because of working with JG Wentworth, my credit score has dropped at this point by 83 points. I am now in the position where I am at least 2 months behind in all of my payments when I wasn't behind at all. There is 0 communication from the company other than a text/email saying that another payment will process on a certain day. Now I feel like I am stuck because now my credit is ruined, my accounts are seriously past due, one has gone to collections, and none of this was happening before dealing with them. All my payments were on time and my credit score was steady. I don't know if I should cancel at this point or what. All I know is, if I would have continued the way I was going, maybe it would have taken longer to pay off my debt but my credit would not be ruined. I have no idea what to do at this point because I am in a worse situation than before. Seems predatory to me or at the very least misleading. What to do, what to do?

    I entered into a debt consolidation program with them in August 2024. They set up the payments and started taking money to pay my debts in September. By November 1, 2024, I had paid $50.00 on my actual debt and over $252 in fees. They told me to stop paying my debts that they had taken over. They lied and stated that they were going to be able to negotiate special rates, which all my creditors told me was a lie; I could negotiate the same rates with them, so they engaged in deceptive business practices. I am literally going to have to take them to court to get this matter resolved. In addition to costing me hundreds in late fees, and tanking my credit. This agency is a complete scam.

    I thought JG Wentworth could help me out. So, I signed up for it, but then they called me and they told me the story about how they do it. And I thought, "Well, that's just wrong. I could go file bankruptcy a lot easier than that." They let your bills go into default. So, you're messing around with the default bills for nine months. I called back and canceled it. It was really easy to sign up for it and I got excited at first until they told me how they do it. They said they let the bills go into default. "You shouldn't have to worry with the consumers." That's a lie. I got calls from consumers right away. I just didn't like the way it's set up. It could be set up differently to where it's handled better. As far as I could tell, they weren't gonna do anything but sit on it and take my money while bills went into default. Customer support was fine. The rep was the reason I got off of it after she told me how the system worked.

    I reached out in March for help. They only contacted one out of 8 creditors, but when I tried to remove the 7 creditors they couldn't bother talking to, they tried to keep the same payment amount which was even more than the only creditor they "resolved". Save yourself the aggravation, and just reach out to your creditors directly to lower payments. Even bankruptcy is better than these people.

    I got so deep in debt and I was trying to survive it. I took out some high interest loans with 239% interest that I thought would just be temporary and I could get them paid off real quick. But things didn't get any better. So, I was stuck and JG Wentworth couldn't take those at the time. So I left JG Wentworth. They were fine with what they were doing with the others, but they couldn't take on what I have with these super high interest loans because it was 200%. There are plenty of upsides in consolidating debts but I was surprised that there was a 25% fee involved in helping somebody consolidate. Other than that, JG Wentworth was fine and I would recommend them as well as any other.

    The reps of the credit cards that JG Wentworth was helping me to get rid of kept calling me and even my bank, when I went to the front to get cash, told me I was late. The rep asked if I wanted them to make a payment for me. I just said no and they said I’m overdue. So, it concerned me because I didn't get anything from JG Wentworth. The balance still shows up like I'm overdue. When I called that last month, the rep told me to stop making payments and then, I had payments following that next week after I applied to the program. I emailed the guy who helped me from JG Wentworth and he told me not to worry about it and to just ignore them. He said I should not make any payments and they already contacted them. They already know.

    JG Wentworth called me after filling out a thing online with debt consolidation and they explained everything to me. I understood what I was getting myself into, but I called again a couple days later and got more info to get a better understanding of what I needed to do in order to complete the program. So far, so good. I pay through the little portal that they have and it goes through a third-party company. It tells me when I pay, how much I'm going to pay, and when I get auto drafted. But I have to call in in order to pay extra and every time I want something done. So that is a little out of date.

    I was getting stressed out about all the credit card payments that I was having to make. When I got an advertisement about how JG Wentworth could consolidate credit, I reached out to them. It was really fast. I got a call an hour after I filled out the forms, and I was talking with a person about what the process would be like. Within half an hour, we were all set up and he had given me instructions on how to proceed. In some place in our call, he also said, "I know how hard it is to make this decision. And so, we appreciate you trusting us." Times haven't been easy, and having somebody say that was really kind. I'm still waiting on my orientation call, but that's because I missed it. So, I've been trying to call back and the waiting is long.

    I would tell people that JG Wentworth is good and that maybe looking into other options, too, would be a good idea. I was aware that it would affect my credit score and I would have to lapse on payments until they could really start negotiations. The rep explained that thoroughly, but maybe there are other options. I would recommend it, but look at other options first, too.

    I was originally looking for a consolidation loan, but that's not what I got from JG Wentworth. I'm a little disappointed because they're a little misleading. They lead you to believe in the beginning that you're getting a loan to pay off your credit cards to consolidate into one payment. But that's not what they do. So, now my credit cards aren't being paid since JG Wentworth told me not to pay them. I went from a perfect 100% bills paid on time on my credit report, and now everything's late.

    I guess they're negotiating, which I didn't realize before I signed the paperwork. But by that time, I didn't know what other options I had because I can't afford the credit cards. So, I just went with it. It's been three weeks now and all my credit cards are calling me, asking why I'm not making my payments. I didn't know that that's how this process works. Otherwise, I would have continued to pay them because I am concerned about my credit report. I don't want to go from 100% paid on time to this.

    Other than that, the price was reasonable and guy in the beginning was great. He was very nice and he answered my questions when I realized that it wasn't a consolidation loan. But since I signed the paperwork accepting this program, I haven't really heard from them other than a couple of emails telling me to accept an arrangement that was made with one of my credit cards. I wish that this was laid out correctly when I very first spoke to them as to what type of process this is. If anyone asks me about JG Wentworth, I would explain to them that the program is not a bill consolidation loan. And they better be prepared to have their creditors contacting them nonstop, 24 hours a day, looking for payment.

    The representative that I initially worked with at JGW who set the account up went through the accounts really quickly and he failed to tell me that accounts with lower balances would not be included in the debt consolidation. It would have been nice if they had initially sent a print off which accounts are going into the debt collection, consolidation, aren't going in because of lower balance. I failed to pay those lower balance ones, thinking that they were included. It was very overwhelming going through it with him and I have a lot of accounts.

    Once I got my online account set up, I was able to go in there and see which accounts they took and didn't take, but I was still a little confused, so I ended up missing my first payment because I forgot and my account was all screwed up with NSFs and stuff from people trying to get their automated payments. The rep did tell me to take them off of automated, but then I had some loans that I could not take off automated. I had to get nasty with the loan people for them to take it off of automated. I took a huge hit the first month with NSFs. But I spoke with a young lady because she wanted to know when I would make that other payment and I told her to just double up on the payment for this past Friday and that happened. Then, she took the time to go through with me the accounts that were not included in the debt consolidation and why and whatnot. Now I need to pay those folks and get them taken care of. Also, I realized that my credit took a huge hit.

    The gentleman from JG Wentworth that I talked to was really professional, and he seemed to have a handle on everything that he was doing. He was knowledgeable. Also, he made me feel really comfortable. At first, when he told me about the whole process and how everything was supposed to be handled and all that good stuff, I was fairly hesitant and took about a week to get back to him.     Trying to handle my own debt consolidation was unsuccessful. I did a bunch of research five months ago and, sure enough, hesitated. But I read reviews, and I decided to go ahead and make the decision to choose JG Wentworth. The enrollment process was flawless. It was a great experience. The customer support was good. Any questions that I had available, they answered them to my satisfaction.     Do not use JG Wentworth. The program does not work! I came to this program desperate for some kind of help. I actually wanted a debt consolidation loan so that I could get out of the hole I was in at which point I was advised debt settlement was all they could do for me and "it would look good on my credit report." My total credit card debt was $20,000.

    They negotiated it down to $12000. Then added on about $4000 worth of fees so I still didn't get out much better considering the hit my credit card had to take. Well after being in the program for 2 years they then tried to give me a loan (with 35% interest) so that was pointless. Also I had a credit card with my bank which was in good standing that I lost because of the hit my credit took from being on this program. Overall this is one of the worst decisions I have ever made. I just hope this review will help anyone who is considering making the same mistake I did.

    Updated on 08/14/2024: JG Wentworth contacted me once again to agree with me on my recent complaints of them failing on my case to properly communicate with the creditors in a timely manner, resulting in lawsuits, legal judgments, tripling my payment plan, and leading me in to a financial crisis. Yes they called to let me know they will continue to keep screwing me over. BE WARNED!

    Original Review: I have reached out to JG Wentworth several times regarding my concerns, only for the issues to be ignored. JG Wentworth has been given the opportunity to resolve the situation. This is why I have resorted to warning the public with reviews. It's only right that everyone be informed of what your company tells them what will happen vs what WILL ACTUALLY HAPPEN. I am already a year and a half in the program and I am in a constant state of fear of what your failures and broken promises will cause to happen next.

    In case anyone thinks about enrolling in a debt consolidation program with JG WENTWORTH; I have a moral obligation to inform everyone of my experience because of how impactful and harmful my experience has been. JG Wentworth started me out with an affordable payment plan, but as your company negotiated with the creditors, things didn't go as your company promised, and you changed/INCREASED my payment plan on last-minute notice constantly. On top of that, your company has FAILED to stay on top of the creditors who are risky for lawsuits even though you have been doing this for decades and know this information. Not to mention, I uploaded a letter warning me of a lawsuit to the JGW client portal months before I was served.

    When a creditor decided to sue me, yes you have lawyers that settled it out of court on my behalf, but if you had kept your word, I WOULD NOT BE GETTING SUED IN THE FIRST PLACE. Despite settling out of court on a payment plan, I still received a judgment against me. Not to mention, payment plans from the lawsuits are astronomical and unaffordable, but you know I have no choice but to pay it unless I want them to go after my assets. The consolidation program doesn't offer any loan solutions to keep my case affordable; instead my payment plans keep increasing. You just increase accordingly, even to loyal clients like myself who pay for your services on time for years. You do not care if your clients have been proven trustworthy over months of dedicated payments, you still will not help keep it affordable, even if it sends the client into a financial crisis.

    You started me out on a $600 monthly payment plan. Over a year into it, and 2 lawsuits later, I am being charged over $1,600 a month. YOU have failed to be helpful to anyone but YOURSELF. I have paid you over 12k and you have taken over 4k for yourself. This is absurd considering your lack of transparency and failures in my case. You are not new to the consolidation program. Yet you still made commitments and promises you knew you likely couldn't keep, without offering any kind of reasonable solutions to right your wrongs. Instead, I am at your mercy being backed in the corner, bombarded with judgements and payment increases. That's not transparency or integrity. My goal was to pay my creditors. You said you could help pay my creditors at a more affordable price. The least you could do is offer some type of alternative solution to keep it affordable, even for an extra fee would be fine, while you STILL GET YOUR MONEY.

    I had gotten into a contract with another company but it seemed like they were moving their feet too slow. They weren't staying in contact and telling me anything. To think you got it all figured out then you find out that you gotta start using credit cards and other stuff to stay on top is not a good feeling.     JGW's agent, Adam **, implied he could get me an advance of $40K quickly, so I could make a large purchase. I told JGW that I ONLY WANTED TO DO THE TRANSACTION IF I COULD GET THE LARGE ADVANCE WITHIN TWO WEEKS. They said they understood, which was a lie. They only sent $14K after about four weeks which wasn't enough to meet my needs. I had already taken out high interest loans that I now couldn't pay off because they didn't send the $40K we discussed. Because I believed their agent Adam, I became over-extended financially because I assumed I would have the $40K to pay off the new obligation quickly which proved to be untrue.

    Then, JGW hasn't sent the money on time. I'm still waiting 2 1/2 months later. Their agent gave me a low offer of $140K but said there would definitely be significant marketing money that brought the amount I would receive way up. When I spoke to Adam, he knew I wanted $170K. The payments are worth $208K. Their "marketing money" didn't bridge the gap. I am only getting $154K ($140K plus $14K marketing money). I have lost $25K waiting for the money to arrive for 2 1/2 months.

    JG Wentworth's fees are too high but now I'm stuck. I'll have to pay a ton in taxes on top of all of this which means I'm losing something like $110K because of their lying. I am appalled by JGW and think they are unethical and deceitful liars who took advantage of me. I've since learned they do this sort of thing all the time. They use odd delay tactics like sending forms to sign with extreme errors such as too blurry to read or misspelled names, etc. If you point this out, as I did, they insisted I sign anyway. After I sent the documents back, they then say it all needs to be redone because of the errors. They did the errors on the forms dance three times before finally getting it right. I believe all of this is intentional because there are others on the internet that have had the same thing happen to them.

    I am nearly 60 years old, this will hurt me for years to come. I have been extremely stressed and am still financially over-extended and losing money because of their deception. I never would have entered into a contract with JGW if their agent didn't repeatedly imply I would get a $40K advance in two weeks. I even said, "You aren't just saying you can do it to get my annuity, right?" and their agent said, "Of course, not," which was another lie. From May 5th through today it's been a nightmare.     Adam's boss, Brad (forgot his last name) is high up in their lottery department. He was a rude bully to me on the telephone. He asked me to send him texts from Adam, so I sent them, and he became angry and hostile that I sent what he asked for. The entire company appears to be run by awful people. I still haven't received the indecently low amount of $140K (for payments worth $208K). Their agent also promised me a second marketing check, in text and on the phone, which I still haven't received. I hope to save one person the horror I have and still am experiencing.

    Takes longer than they let on and customer service was good up until the last 6 months of the program. Then it was almost non-existent getting someone to answer your email or know what they're talking about when you have to call.     Terrible experience with JG Wentworth and the people working here. All was good and they were kind until I decided the program wasn’t for me and I wanted to pull out. The person working my case was so incredibly inappropriate saying I “have a problem and I need help”, I’m “making an obvious mistake”, that people my age “don’t have debt like this”, that “the truth hurts”, and “you know I’m right that you have a problem”. All of this because I wanted to hold on doing the program for now. I was actually considering coming back, but they’ve lost me as a future customer and how they treat customers is absolutely appalling. It's clear this guy is not afraid of getting fired and thinks he can treat customers like skin. They aren’t here to help. They are trying to make money off of you.

    If I could give 0 stars I would. I went through their debt relief program and ended up paying back everything that I owe but they did not pay my creditors. I'm being sued by my creditors because JG Wentworth/Castro law kept the money instead of paying them off!!! I reached out to them and they told me they separated from Castro law and to contact them. I contacted them and they won't return my calls or emails. This is not legal and now I will need to get an attorney involved.     The last time I gave them a one star review because of how differently I was treated once signing the contract with them. I was asked “what I wanted?” Because of giving the review. Matthew F and Michael ** use intimidation tactics and have dismissed and ignored things intentionally and have got to the point of laughter while on the phone with them. It seems almost intentional especially when they supposedly sent a ride for my court hearing only to get a notification ten minutes AFTER the ride was “scheduled” to pick me up that they were no available drivers. Right? And asking for a representative to not contact me after lying to me and admitting it to me (which I have proof of via recorded conversations on my end and personal text) seems like I was asking too much.

    The director (Michael) has spoke to me like I was nothing making snarky remarks and threats knowing how much of a financial bind and throwing it in my face like it’s a game in his eyes and putting down and belittling a single mother of 3 kids 7- 4 month old for getting MY own money out of MY structured SETTLEMENT yet acts surprised I’m struggling to make bills like I’m in this contest with them? And yet they win and get away with it because they know I’m stuck financially. I’m so far into this deal and have no other option and if I cancel I couldn’t start another deal with a different company because they said they WON'T cancel the contract until I sent them the cash advance back even if I could get a different company to give that to me to give them so I could get out of this contract because of how disrespectful and nasty they have been.

    I can’t talk to another company because of it showing I’m under contract with them? Couldn’t even get a document written up legally stating that I would pay them back. They wouldn’t give that option either. I’m sure a lot of all this is ignorance on my end because of being so overwhelmed and them verbally abusing their authority and saying what “I Am Allowed to do or NOT Allowed to do based on personal agendas or opinions and not “LEGALLY” speaking." (Hints the intimidation I mentioned)

    It’s uncalled for and sad they get to get away with this. I’m sure I’m not the first person and I never heard back from the email I sent to the complaints department. So it’s obviously acceptable by the company. And NO I want nothing else from your company other than to get this deal over and y’all can put me on a no contact list because I will NOT work y’all on what will be left in my settlement after this deal. And will be sure the courts make note not to allow me to so It holds me accountable to that statement as well.

    I would not recommend JG Wentworth to anyone. I had a few debts on my account and my payment was 258 a month which worked for me and then I got taken to court which jgwentworth handled but I was told my payment would need to be raised by 130 dollars and I agreed that was fine. But during the court case it was declined and then they said they needed to raise my payment by 210 which again was fine except for the fact that they didn’t mention they were raising it by 130 plus the 210 on top of my 258 dollar payment.

    I contacted them to see why and I was told that they mentioned it was both and I went back through all the emails which never once mentioned it was going to be raised by 130 and then 210. Very shady and they charge a ton of settlement fees. My debts would’ve been cheaper had I paid them off myself and they’ll just end up screwing y'all. I’m so glad I’m done with them and I’ll never use them again. Unfortunately I cannot find the replies from the lawyer but I have screenshots of emails I sent for you all to see.

    Used this Company when I took a huge business start-up risk and refinancing my house for cash out fell through due to Biden in acting ridiculous new stipulations for home equity. I was in such a panic that I wasn’t thinking clearly and just wanted someone to help me settle credit card debts without stressing with it myself. This company was professional at the beginning of the process then slowly you could see you were just another number to them. They took huge payouts on every single debt I settled to the point where I saved almost no money than if I were to have settled them myself.

    They love to keep you in the dark about how much you have in your escrow and I frankly could never get logged into mine until after I canceled them last week and started dealing with my last three debts on my own. They’d settle for 30% of the debt then charge me 25% of what I had originally owed as their fee. Bunch of criminals if you ask me. Towards the end of this, they were only paying $25 to three debts each month and then pocketing the rest of my $275 I was paying each month. Stay FAR away from predators like this; you're much better off taking on your debts yourself.

    I’ve written a review before, but I must update because the horrendous saga continues. Do NOT WASTE YOUR TIME With J.G.WENTWORTH!! It’s all lies and the stress is worse than anything you could imagine! JUST FILE BANKRUPTCY!!! The newest issue is JG Wentworth put me through to an Arnold smith law firm. The law firm advised me to take a 30k debt off of JG Wentworth and pay it directly to the creditors. I was told by JG Wentworth that when the 30k comes off my payment to them would be much lighter because it’s going to lack the 30k. So, now I’m paying this debt back to the creditors. JG Wentworth takes it off my books with them, but they totally lied about dropping down the amount.

    They expect me to pay back the same 80” I’ve been paying to them each month. Plus the other debt to the creditor himself. Of course I can’t do that! Now, JG Wentworth will not return my emails or my phone calls. Not that you could ever really speak to somebody after first few months. Anyway it was all a lie just to beat you up and take your money, in my opinion. Do not listen to a word they say. Just file bankruptcy. They will put you in the poor house and in legal troubles quickly. They are the worst! Stay away from Jg Wentworth.

    I utilized JG Wentworth to do a debt consolidation program for me. I always received great customer service whenever I had to call with questions or concerns with any of my accounts. Their customer service was always exceptional. Whenever an account was negotiated (and all of my accounts were reduced) JG Wentworth would email me a detailed contract about what the cost was going to be. I always had the opportunity to agree or not with the settlement.

    As I stated, all of my debts that they handled agreed to reduce what I owed. I made the agreed upon monthly payments to JG Wentworth and they in turn handled the payoffs on my debts. Yes, my credit took a pretty hard hit at first, but now after being out of the program for over a year, my credit rating has soared over 150 points already. Plus I have been offered no fee credit cards with cash back programs. Throughout this process I learned better how to deal with my credit cards and keep my debt under control. I highly recommend JG Wentworth if you too need to get out from underneath a lot of debt. It is a commitment you have to make, but as long as you follow the program and make your payments, you will be better off financially and I have no doubt your credit will recover when you use it responsibly.

    I wish I would have never used JG Wentworth. I had a lot of my credit, but I never was in bad standing with late payments. Now all my payments are late and the creditors still haven't heard from JG Wentworth. It's put me in a bad situation. I don't understand why they're taking so much money out my account now and not even making the payments. They said that they needed time to consolidate so they haven't even started. They said it could be anywhere from four to six months to consolidate.

    Initially, they said three months, but I didn't know all my late payments. Then they said it would just go over when they consolidate it. That means if I'm only 27,000 in the hole, and that's what I'm going to consolidate, now it's gonna be more than 27,000? They told me if I wanted to cancel, I can cancel and get my money back. But it'll put all of my accounts that I consolidated with them with late fees and in collections which I've never been in. I would have been better off taking a personal loan and trying to pay my credit down. Nowadays, to even apply for an apartment, you have to have good credit. My credit score is so low right now. It wasn't the greatest but I've always made my payments on time and never had late fees. I'm too old to be having this bad credit like this.

    I reached out to a representative and had quite a few conversations about the process. The only thing that I didn't like was having to speak with the same person every single time, which was super inconvenient because they did not return my calls, the appointments were not kept as scheduled, and I have a very busy work schedule. It was very frustrating to have a scheduled appointment and not get called several times. Any time that I would call, I had to leave a voicemail and never got a call back and I couldn't speak with another agent.

    That was the only thing that could be a little different. If somebody's working on something and they are not able to keep their appointment, it might be a little bit more efficient to have another agent be able to at least answer some questions for clients. When you have multiple questions and texts aren't returned in a timely manner and appointments aren't kept, it can lead to customer frustration.

    Other than that, the efficiency of DocuSigning over the phone and the ability to be able to text the agent were all great features. When the agent was able to respond, I found that the text messaging was helpful. It's user-friendly, which would be the highlight for JG Wentworth. The process of explanation and getting the details was super helpful. The only thing that could be explained a little bit more would be that there would be a lawyer involved in getting the settlement. Trying to explain that to the debtors can be very challenging.

    NEVER USE THIS COMPANY. They will get you to spend more money on fees than they will ever save you in money. I have now paid $2,000 in fees alone and they have saved me a sad $1,200. I have $2,200 more in fees to pay over these next 3 years. I have one more settlement to be done. Overall, I probably owed $11,000 in debt. Once this program is through I will be paying at least $13,000. My credit went from 750 to 400 over these 8 months of being with JG. I will be lucky if my credit ever gets better. It will be 3-5 years at least.

    I contacted JG Wentworth for debt relief. They worked out a program. It's supposedly in process right now but I haven't heard from them for about a month or so. I still get some calls from my creditors. But it stops there. JG Wentworth said they would take care of it. I called them about a month ago to ask for a report but I didn't get anything back except that they were into it. It would be better if they communicated a little more often.

    JG Wentworth said they would be able to help me. I thought of getting a loan and consolidating the bills. They said they could take care of it, and everything was set up. I forgot to add one bill, and I've been trying since October to get that bill added. I'm hoping that they've taken care of it since then. I've had trouble getting on to the computer to their website because either I've got the wrong username or the wrong password with the username. It just gave me a bunch of things. So, I try to call about twice a month to keep up with what's going on, but they have been able to negotiate lower terms on one of the payments. So, they're doing what they're supposed to do.

    They have this client service thing. I've talked to them a lot, and I think they're doing their jobs. I just don't know if the people that are supposed to follow through are following through. The first time I realized I hadn’t added one bill, I called them right away. That was still before I even made the first payment. They said that they would look into it, and then I didn't hear anything from them. I keep expecting them to send me an email saying that the new payment will be such and such because if they add another bill to it, the payment's gonna go up. They still haven't sent me anything saying that it will be higher than what it has been. So, it still hasn't been taken care of.

    I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt on this one note that's still out. Most of my accounts that were given to them were set up electronically so I didn't get paper statements, and it's hard for me. There are several of them. I can't even figure out how to get a statement from them. Maybe the people that I got the loans with might be the problem more than JG Wentworth. I would get something but it wasn't truly a statement. Overall, going to JG is better than going bankrupt. You probably have to keep an eye on it until everything settles down and they start making payments to the people that you need to. I really would like to see paper copies. They say they don't do paper but personally, with this situation, I would appreciate a paper statement.

    Folks, do not fall for this bull!! They will say and do whatever at first when you are in need of help and want to believe in them. At first you may be in good standing with your debts, I was. They tell you to not pay your bills for months and they will negotiate 50 percent of what you owe. It's all BULL!! It damages your credit big time and when it settles, it's 75-85 percent of what you owe for each credit card and then the credit card puts fees for being late and paperwork and that's another 1000 plus on top, then the cherry on top is the other 25 percent JG WENTWORTH charges you so you are overall paying more then when you started.. This is a legalized racket with all kinds of headaches!!

    Also, when they can't settle, they send your info to a bank called ** and they bill you an arm and a leg. This is the other thing, after you initially speak to Dustin or whomever to set up what you feel is going to be something to help you out and is not, you see how bad you were lied to eventually and you try to call to get answers. Here's the kick, he will tell you that he no longer has your case and it's passed on. Now, he will put you thru tho a generic person at JG Wentworth that answers the phones and has no idea in the world about your case. They will just beat around the bush and yes you to death!!

    People, DO NOT DO THIS, FILE BANKRUPTCY!! THIS IS A JOKE!! They do not care about you. You are just a commission check to the first person you speak to and then you are in trouble. These folks have told me several times they will look into something and then you never hear from them again! It's really bad!! I see the reviews say 3.9. DO NOT BELIEVE THIS EITHER!! There are companies that put reviews up these days to spike your score and in my first handed humble opinion, I would bet the farm this is exactly what is going on here. Good luck and take care.

    I wanted to get somewhere better financially. JG Wentworth was the most attentive and the fastest to respond. They were super friendly and informative. They talk you through the process and you tell them what's going on. You give them all the financial information and they break down how much was owed. They then work with you on how much you can pay and when to break it up, which would suit your budget or your lifestyle. That was really important for me.

    I've been a little bit reserved about JG Wentworth because when I first started with them, I was highly impressed. The first month I signed up with them, they'd already negotiated a deal for an account. The deal was pretty good. It was what they promised that they would give me the best offer. Then even more impressive, just a month or two later, they've negotiated another deal. But that was when everything stopped. From there, I've had some accounts go into collections to the point where the vendor sent me letters suing me. So I forwarded it to JG Wentworth and also their legal department. This is where I had a problem with JG Wentworth.

    One of their legal department neglected on following up with the case to the point where the amount went up because they didn't show up to court. Then one of the attorneys that was assigned to the case left the department without even mentioning it to his superior. So the case was left untouched. Then I was sued again and that really upset me. I've never experienced that with the other debt management.

    The sad part thing was that I was receiving the letters when the letter should have been going to them. They should have been rerouted to them. I'm the one that called them to find out what was going on. They didn't know anything about it and this happened twice. One of the vendors that they negotiated on was the worst negotiation I've ever gotten. I've even complained about that. It was not even close to 50%. Now I have two accounts that have been out there for a long time. I've asked JG Wentworth, "What is going on with these two accounts? Do I need to call them on my own and see if I can negotiate?" Because I ended up negotiating on one account on my own one time and I got the best deal on my own rather than having to go to the debt management. But that wasn't with JG Wentworth. That was an account when I was with the other debt management company.

    Sometimes JG Wentworth is a little patronizing. They take it personal in which they shouldn't because it's my money. I'm paying into the service. So I don't like it when the customer service gives me an attitude like I'm affecting their account. They should listen and be attentive. I don't like to be patronized or belittled. But the monthly payment that I'm making is quite far less than the previous debt management.

    My experience with JG Wentworth has been a little bit rough. They haven't really been as responsive as they should be. Every time we call, we just get a blockade or a callback, "We'll get back to you" but it never happens. So it's been a waste of time. We heard back from our lawyer last time that he was rearranging everything and trying to get the account settled and that was it. I was supposed to get a call back the following day. And it's been two weeks.

    At first, it wasn't too bad. When we finally got all the money into the account, I started trying to get them to speed up the process to get everything done. But it became dead water. Nobody really became responsive. Nobody was really trying to settle the accounts. We gave them information for accounts that reached out to us, offering us great deals and they just didn't even pursue them at all. A 50% reduction on the debt that we had, that offer just went out the window 'cause they didn't respond back. There's no communication. Just people leaving notes on a page.
