    In principle this should have worked well. It is falling apart because of the service experience on JG Wentworth's end and their partner law firm Arnold and Smith. I experienced a combination of a complicated issues and a complete breakdown of JG Wentworth's client services team ability to track and resolve said issue. I've spent almost 10 hours on the phone with client services. Each call has ended with a plan to resolve the issue and follow up. Not once, has someone followed up with me.

    I've consistently had to call back and start from scratch with a new person. They never seem to have ANY record of what is happening or what items are pending. I am at a complete loss and feel like they have a no idea what is happening. Here's some of the bad experiences that have come with 10 hours of trying to resolve my issue: Call background noise from their team makes hearing them almost impossible. They are at loud call centers with terrible audio equipment. "I've been here a long time - well 8 months but that is a long time for people here." Yup. Someone told me this about their internal turnover. Makes me feel horrible that I am trusting them to help me manage my personal financial crisis. 6 times someone scheduled a follow up call with me from their team and 0 times someone actually called me back. I have no direct points of contact or any way to follow up with the people supposedly managing these issues.

    I moved states 8 months ago - altered JG Wentworth and the law firm they had assigned to manage me settlements about the move. They told it me it was fine. After several other check ins and having to re-verify my outdated address - the law firm altered me I was outside of their service territory. I had to re-enroll with JG Wentworth and take over some of the accounts that had already been settled on my own. The re-enrollment has been a nightmare. Their system continues to have issues sending me the paperwork I am supposed to sign. No one really knows why. They keep telling me they will "message another team" and get back to me and then it goes dark. It has been 5 months trying to fix this.

    I spend at least 1-2 hours a week trying to get a hold of someone to fix it. What's worse is that I signed a contract with them for re-enrollment so I don't feel like I can go to another provider right now without having to learn what it takes to exit the contract. Dealing with them has been mentally exhausting. Find a different provider - one that you can have some degree of dedicated accountability with and know who you can reach out to for questions or issues.

    First off my debt my problem their promises: worthless. They only managed to completely destroy what credit I did have by doing absolutely nothing to address my issues the guarantee that they would contact my creditors to work out solutions. Never occurred and resulted in every account I had being closed. I was told not to reach out to or respond to any correspondences which resulted in delinquencies and law suits. They have been drawing funds from my account and putting them into another bank that charges me over $40 a month to take my funds. WORST IDEA EVER AND I'M STUCK FOR A WAY OUT; THE CONTACTS THEY PROVIDED DON'T EXIST IN THEIR ORGANIZATION!

    I definitely need some financial help, and initially thought the person I was speaking with was friendly and helpful. When he sent me the docusign forms I told him that I needed a day to read them over before deciding, and his voice suddenly changed--he said "I wouldn't have sent them if I had known you needed time to decide". WTF? It's totally normal to read over contracts and then decide. After reading other reviews, (thank you to those who voiced their issues), I decided this was not a good choice for me. Why is it so hard to receive actual help? I know the answer--it all boils down to money.

    Initially, I was hesitant to accept calls from JG Wentworth, but eventually, I gave it a chance. The experience has been pretty good overall. One of the more impressive aspects was their customer service. The representative I spoke with was very knowledgeable, explained everything clearly, and had prompt answers to all my questions, which was reassuring.

    However, there was a hiccup when I switched from having them pay my credit cards directly to taking out a loan through them to consolidate my payments. There was a mix-up with the withdrawal from my bank account. Despite having always withdrawn from my account reliably before, for some reason, they attempted to withdraw from my checking account instead of my savings account. This resulted in a late payment issue, which was frustrating.

    I've spoken to them about correcting the bank account detail, and they seem to have worked out the solution. I'm waiting to see if the next payment goes through smoothly. Despite this issue, I'd rate their service a 4 out of 5 for now because it was a relatively minor setback in an otherwise positive experience. I haven't used their online service, so I can't comment on that. Overall, I think they do a good job.

    It's almost a year since I enrolled in this program and unfortunately have 5 unsettled creditors and 2 lawsuits!!! Which one of them is just for $1000! Yep! They couldn't settle even a $1000 and when you called the customer service and questioned it, you would hear, we don't handle the lawsuit you need to call the firm presenting us! :(

    I even called them 6 months ago twice and told them I see Amex in "pre-legal" status and answer was don't worry, we will settle it ASAP, well it's a lawsuit now! Even thinking about it, will give me anxiety! :( I don't know what would happen to me with their level of care! My friend enrolled in "DebtWave Credit Counseling" and they settled her debt in less than 6 months and her debt was $100k, twice of my debt! Moral of the story don't enroll in debt program and if you have to, please do a favor to yourself and choose wisely! And Stay away from JG Wentworth!

    In the beginning, I was skeptical because I don't like giving my personal information over the phone and I didn't educate myself in that. JG Wentworth Debt Relief asked me to get my date of birth and Social Security number. I felt comfortable giving it, but my best friend said I shouldn't have. The receptionist said there were two of my names in the system and she needed my approval to take that money out my Bank of America. I don't even have Bank of America. I'm with Chase. But I had to give my authorization to whoever it was that I spoke to. After that, it was okay. However, it was a mediocre service. The bumps along the way didn't help the situation.

    I originally paid 445 and somehow JG Wentworth increased it to 600-something. That hurt me a lot. Maybe it was because one creditor that they were working happened to be Chase, and they couldn't minimize it as much as they would like to. I didn't like that I paid this amount. And a month or two later, that huge increase. Nobody explained it to me and I didn't like that.

    What I was bothered with was I stopped working while I had seven months left to pay off. I reached out to JG Wentworth through email letting them know that I was having a hard time making the payments. I did not like the way I was treated. There was a gentleman who said, "What do you want me to do? You're gonna take a month?" I asked for two months to try to come up with the money. He was rude about that, saying that he could only work with me for two weeks. But I had no income. They were not sensitive to my situation but I've been on time paying them and letting them know I had no money. He didn't care for it. I was enraged a bit. I said never again will I come back to them. I paid the debt using my savings.

    There was another situation which I felt they tried to scam me. I got an email from them saying I paid my debt in full. Towards the end, the payment was different. I have been paying a lot. They minimized it to 400-something, and I overpaid, which they gave me my money back. I'm grateful for that. But it was very strange that this man called me saying that he works for an attorney at JG Wentworth and made a mistake with my account and that I owed one more payment. I was a little guarded. I asked if he could give me that in writing because up until now I'm sure they don't mess up and send me some confirmation that I graduated and then get me that phone call saying that I still owe one more payment. He said, "No worries. I'll get back to you." He never did, and I thought that was weird.

    I thought he was trying to hack me because he asked, "Do you give the approval for the payment?" I said, "No, I don't." I told him to show it to me in black and white first, then I'll approve it. He said, "Okay. No problem. I'll type up that email right now and I'll give it to you right now." He never did. I called again and I had my best friend call too just to make sure that it was a JG Wentworth line, and it was.

    I decided to give JG Wentworth Debt Relief a try upon recommendation from my father, who previously dealt with them. My main goal was to improve my credit situation. So far, the process seems to be going smoothly. They've helped me with consolidating my credit cards and a few loans.

    The worst company I have dealt with. I think you're doing gonna be a good company to help me with my debt. The only thing they did was frustrate me. Not communicate and kept money that they were initially supposed to return to me. I don't see how people can do. This to people who are already struggling will never do it again. Think twice before using them for any of your financial needs

    Dealing with this company has been like herding cats! I’ve talked to probably 30 people and three or four supervisors. Some give a crap, some don’t and I’m told a different story by all. I had two American Express cards. One had $22,000 and some change. The other one had $5000 and some change and I had a small debt with my bank left for about $6000 which I have been paying on all, never Miss payments, etc. etc. but American Express are **. It wouldn’t even lower my rate For just six months and give me a break but they wouldn’t do it and that’s why I hired JG Wentworth. I told him do not touch my Bank Of America but they did. I had to go back in after being told they wouldn’t and it wouldn’t affect my bank because I said I’ve been with them for 25 years. I’ve been with American Express for 30 both as a solid client.

    After putting in $17,000 very quickly into my supposed savings account that was supposed to help me out to negotiate my rates down and before I said yes to the negotiation rates on the first card I asked does that include your fees. It was negotiated down to like $18,000 and I thought oh my God that’s great. They saved me like over four grand. No they didn’t because he was now wrong, told me the wrong thing. They took over $4000 out of it for themselves before paying my creditors. They say it shows a zero balance so I called American Express yesterday. She still shows $11,000 left to them my small card of my American Express. They’ve been paying $50 a month $50 a month but they waited till just a couple months ago to start paying them so that your credit goes down so bad because nobody’s paying them at all for months but they’re still pulling out three to $400 out of my checking on top of the $17,000. Where is this money going?

    Question question question nobody really wants to answer that unethical at every level and now I have to get an attorney involved really because the fact I’m in debt I needed help. This wasn’t helpful. I ended up paying them so far as much as I owed on my credit card debt so note to self never ever ever hindsight 2020 I would’ve gotten a chapter 7 if I had to do this again, but my debt my problem to take care of and I’m not lazy and I’m no mooch, but this is so wrong every level and the only reason they have a good star rating is because the first phone call you know the big sales person that smashes you makes you feel all comfortable and then you can never get a hold of them and they pan you off to other people that don’t give a shit that are working out of our house.

    Number number one you can’t understand most of them. Number two. Some of them were just too busy shaving their legs. I just got up from a nap. The baby screaming in the background or the dog barking. It’s been super great super great makes you feel really solid. Not at all. I’ve had it. I don’t care if I spend my last time, but I’m suing the shit out of them. Don’t ever use them.

    14 months and only half of the accounts are settled. Someone came to my house and served me from Chase just last month. I called into JG Wentworth and they said send the summons to them. I did, then the lawyers THEY use for their policy send me a court filing bill. I called in and they just give me fine print answers. There is a reason comments are turned off on their YouTube videos, etc. Avoid. Do National or anything else. If not, when your Lease is up and you want a new car, you'll regret it. When you need to get a loan for your business years later, you'll regret it.

    I’m very disappointed with their customer service. Someone called me and I was met with complete unprofessionalism. The representative was dismissive and actually told me, “you don’t have other options.” That is not only rude, but also shows a lack of respect for customers. A company should be focused on finding solutions, not making people feel stuck or unheard. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend them to anyone who expects to be treated with basic courtesy and professionalism.

    JG Wentworth offered a payment plan that fit comfortably within my budget, which was a relief. One challenge I've faced, however, is adjusting to the ongoing calls from creditors. It's understandable since they mentioned that creditors might still reach out until things are settled. My agent advised me to block these numbers, and while I expected some disruption, it can still be kind of overwhelming, especially when I'm with my family.

    Worst experience that I have ever had, I had one account that I was overwhelmed with and wanted to see if gong this route would be better. The sales rep made me feel comfortable and like this was the best decision, however, even though I stressed that I was seeking this avenue so that I would not take a hit on my credit things were never clearly explained to me. I was under the impression that they would start working on the settlement as soon as I signed the paperwork but they did not start until 4 months later. By then my credit score drop over 100 points which then cause other creditors to lower some of my credit limits or close my account which caused my credit to decrease more.

    Today I am struggling to get any credit do to my now poor credit score and although my enrolled debt will be paid off next year I will still be paying JG for another year for their fees. I feel like I was completely scammed and taken advantage of. I am in worse shape now than I was prior to signing up with JG. I do not recommend this company and have a lawyer read everything before moving forward with them.
