My experience with JG Wentworth was fine. I worked with Jeff and he gave me the information I needed. I had some discrepancy with one of the other agents. They sent me on a different route when we were trying to get our checking account, making sure that it was on track, which we did get on track. She was talking about needing to clear checks, but I didn't have to do that. I just requested Jeff, and it was a very easy process. I'm just getting started. I’m supposed to call my creditors and let them know. They gave me a statement to inform my creditors about what's going on in a certain specific way. Hadn't had a chance to do that yet. But so far, so good. I would recommend them to a friend.
If people need it, it is a good thing to go through, because it eliminates the interest, even though it's a 25% cost. Their interest is extremely high, and they made it legal in that aspect. But it's not fair for me to have to pay for that situation. For example, I paid Chase off. They gave me credit of 4,000, and I bought that in an emergency attempt to take care of some business with my house. But, after I paid it off, they became even more aggressive in interest fees. One time, I paid 300, and the balance was 100. Then they charged me a high interest rate of 80-something dollars, and then a fee on top of that. So, I have a problem with that.
Hi Yvette! Thank you for sharing your experience with us. We're thrilled to hear that you had a positive start working with Jeff and found the process smooth with him. We regret any confusion you encountered with the other agent, and it is great to know this was resolved effectively once Jeff was involved.
We appreciate your feedback related to the interest aspect and understand your concerns regarding the situation with your previous creditor. Our aim is to support you through the process, free from unwarranted financial strain when possible.
Please feel free to reach out to our support team as you proceed with the next steps, like informing your creditors. Your recommendation means a lot to us, and we are committed to helping you reach the financial goals you've set.
If you have any further questions or need additional assistance, we're here to help. Thank you for choosing JG Wentworth, and we're glad you're providing insights so we can improve our services.

If I could put a Zero I would. These People all they do is Take your money, all the Reviews you seeing are Friends & Family Reviews. If you want to see the correct Reviews go to BBB. You will see the Real Reviews. They took over $600 from me. The Bill Collectors & JG WENTWORTH was calling me for more & more $$$. The CS don't know what they doing & give you wrong info. I started with them in Aug 2025. I asked for my payments to come out on Thur/Fri. My payments were coming out on Mon, Tue, Wed when they choose to take it out, causing my acct to OverDraft.
Later I was told I had to make payments thru Global Holding LLC, which made me have to pay more than what they quoted, but I was never told this info. I was told it was my fault payments where Later, but after talking to Jessica at Global Holding, she state JG Wentworth drop the ball not getting me the docs in time. Therefore my acct Closed because of them, but they were blaming me. They stating taking payments again Global Holding, but after talking to JG Wentworth, they stated they weren't getting them. Than CS Tiffany told me my acct was closed again & she seen No payment collected. But my bank acct said different showing payments came out Jan 12/Feb 5th and a payment pending on Feb 9th, which I put a STOP PAYMENT on since Tiffany stated my acct was Cancelled & she seen No Payment come out period. Therefore I Cancel the whole contractor.
It's stressful Bill Collectors calling & JG Wentworth calling weekly for more $$$. I contact Global Holding regarding my Refund, she stated they were going to Refund my 2-payments back, but it showed JG Wentworth took it. From Aug 2025 to Feb 2026, they Did Nothing At All but caused me Stress, Headache & Pain coming from an Unemployed Senior Citizen. These People do not need to be in business.

I believed JG Wentworth settled the 1st account and this was 4 years ago. Or longer, now my credit report is saying I still owe the same amount. Don't trust them. They take your money and don't pay the accounts.
We’re sorry to hear about your experience and understand how frustrating this situation must feel. Based on our records, we were able to successfully settle two of your accounts while you were enrolled in the program. However, since the program was canceled before completion, the remaining accounts may not have been resolved.
In some cases, even after a settlement, creditors or credit bureaus may take time to update reporting, or additional follow-up may be needed. We’d like the opportunity to review your specific situation and help clarify what happened.
Please reach out to our customer support team so we can look into this further and work toward a resolution.

Do not use! Still have not contacted 75% of my accounts! The credit score has fallen 200 points! Wish I had done more research on them before I signed on! My accounts were all current until I signed on, now I am screwed.
We’re sorry to hear about your experience and understand how frustrating changes to your credit score can feel.
Our debt relief program requires accounts to be past due before negotiations can begin, which can temporarily impact credit. This process is fully disclosed during enrollment because it’s a standard part of most debt settlement programs. Credit score impact is typically short-term and varies by individual situation.
We also want to clarify that negotiations occur in phases and not all accounts are contacted at once. Our team works strategically based on account status, balance, and creditor response patterns.
We regret that the program wasn’t the right fit for you and wish you the best moving forward. If you’d like to discuss your specific concerns further, our team is always available to review your file directly.

I’m very disappointed with my experience with JG Wentworth. I had to cancel my program after losing my job, and since then, the company has completely refused to provide me with any record of how my money was used. They removed my access to the online portal right after I canceled, so now I can’t see what payments were made or where my funds went.
I’ve asked multiple times for a statement by mail or email showing what was paid with the money I sent them, but they continue to refuse. This feels extremely unfair and unprofessional. I just want transparency about my own payments, but instead I’ve been left in the dark. I would strongly caution others to be careful before enrolling with this company.

Signed up then canceled within 3 days. After canceling they still deducted money from my account. Called them and they said the money will be refunded. They refunded the money but deducted fees out of it. When I called and argued that the cancellation policy stated no obligation if I canceled within 3 days they stated the fees were already taken out and a full refund is not possible. I am so glad I did cancel and I am only out 40$ instead of much worse. Scam!
Hi Melinda, we apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. We reviewed your file and saw you canceled more than 3 days after enrollment. Please do not hesitate to reach out to our team if you have any additional questions or concerns.

Their customer service was great. However, it should be more upfront that they require you to be delinquent while they build the savings account. They stop paying on your creditors and your bills, and I didn't realize that. It was uncertain in all of the little writing and I did not feel like I fully understood. That really dinged my credit, which was good before. Now, it’s bad because I missed a couple of payments while the savings were accumulating. I'm really not happy about that. I pulled out of the program as soon as I realized that, and switched to a similar program, but the difference is you do not go delinquent, and you keep paying your monthly fee. JG Wentworth was being dishonest. They set you up so that you are delinquent.
We regret to hear about the inconsistent information you received and the cancellation. We appreciate your feedback and will review your case to improve our service and communication.

But it's freed up a little more money for me, and that's what I needed. Customer support has been good. No complaints.

JG Wentworth is the worst. If I could give negative stars I would. They failed to negotiate with my creditors and a lawsuit was filed against me. The law firm they use failed to show up for the court hearing and a judgment was issued against me. I called the firm and was told that they did not get notice of the hearing, but I received the notice, so they should have also. Stay far far away from these people. They do not do what they are supposed to do. They are scammers. My credit has taken a major hit and now I still have to pay the full amount of the credit card anyway due to the judgment.

I reached out to JG Wentworth during a tough time. I should have known that missing payments would hurt my credit. I was getting a lot of calls and had to do a lot of talking back-and-forth. Once I had six months under my belt with that, JG Wentworth offered a loan that paid everything off and shifted the payments to them, which ended up being the best and easiest solution for me. The rep was good, and I didn’t have any complications with him.
Going with JG Wentworth was the only light at the end of the tunnel because I couldn’t file for bankruptcy because of my business, and I didn’t even have enough debt for that. We went on vacation, ran up a lot of credit card debt, real estate was slow, and my husband’s job slowed down, too, so we didn’t have the money coming in. I kept thinking about what to do, and then I saw JG Wentworth as something to help out. Now that it’s all done, it’s off my plate, and that’s a good feeling. They helped me, and it all felt very normal. I tell people about the JG Wentworth song because every time I say something, that's the first thing that goes through people's minds.

Everything was easy, and my comfort level was 10 out of 10.
We weren't in the program for long, about a year or a little more, but all in all, JG Wentworth Debt Relief was very helpful. At the time we needed help, we were able to get it, and it was great. In principle this should have worked well. It is falling apart because of the service experience on JG Wentworth's end and their partner law firm Arnold and Smith. I experienced a combination of a complicated issues and a complete breakdown of JG Wentworth's client services team ability to track and resolve said issue. I've spent almost 10 hours on the phone with client services. Each call has ended with a plan to resolve the issue and follow up. Not once, has someone followed up with me.
I've consistently had to call back and start from scratch with a new person. They never seem to have ANY record of what is happening or what items are pending. I am at a complete loss and feel like they have a no idea what is happening. Here's some of the bad experiences that have come with 10 hours of trying to resolve my issue: Call background noise from their team makes hearing them almost impossible. They are at loud call centers with terrible audio equipment. "I've been here a long time - well 8 months but that is a long time for people here." Yup. Someone told me this about their internal turnover. Makes me feel horrible that I am trusting them to help me manage my personal financial crisis. 6 times someone scheduled a follow up call with me from their team and 0 times someone actually called me back. I have no direct points of contact or any way to follow up with the people supposedly managing these issues.
I moved states 8 months ago - altered JG Wentworth and the law firm they had assigned to manage me settlements about the move. They told it me it was fine. After several other check ins and having to re-verify my outdated address - the law firm altered me I was outside of their service territory. I had to re-enroll with JG Wentworth and take over some of the accounts that had already been settled on my own. The re-enrollment has been a nightmare. Their system continues to have issues sending me the paperwork I am supposed to sign. No one really knows why. They keep telling me they will "message another team" and get back to me and then it goes dark. It has been 5 months trying to fix this.
I spend at least 1-2 hours a week trying to get a hold of someone to fix it. What's worse is that I signed a contract with them for re-enrollment so I don't feel like I can go to another provider right now without having to learn what it takes to exit the contract. Dealing with them has been mentally exhausting. Find a different provider - one that you can have some degree of dedicated accountability with and know who you can reach out to for questions or issues.

They only managed to completely destroy what credit I did have by doing absolutely nothing to address my issues the guarantee that they would contact my creditors to work out solutions. Never occurred and resulted in every account I had being closed. I was told not to reach out to or respond to any correspondences which resulted in delinquencies and law suits. They have been drawing funds from my account and putting them into another bank that charges me over $40 a month to take my funds. I definitely need some financial help, and initially thought the person I was speaking with was friendly and helpful. When he sent me the docusign forms I told him that I needed a day to read them over before deciding, and his voice suddenly changed--he said "I wouldn't have sent them if I had known you needed time to decide". WTF? It's totally normal to read over contracts and then decide. After reading other reviews, (thank you to those who voiced their issues), I decided this was not a good choice for me. Why is it so hard to receive actual help? I know the answer--it all boils down to money.

The customer service has been good, but we had problems when I switched over from having JG Wentworth pay my credit cards directly to taking a loan out through them to pay them all off at once.
There was a mix-up with the withdrawal from my bank account, and they called me and said I was late. I tried to explain to them that it was not my fault. They had been taking out of my bank account for the last eight months, and all of a sudden, they tried to take it out of my checking account instead of my savings account. In the beginning, I was a little skeptical because I don't like giving my personal information over the phone and I didn't educate myself on that. JG Wentworth Debt Relief's receptionist asked me for my date of birth and Social Security number. I felt comfortable giving it, but my best friend said I shouldn't have. I still, till today, don't like doing that. The receptionist said there were two people with my name in the system and she needed my approval to take that money out of my Bank of America account. I don't even have a Bank of America. I'm with Chase. But I had to give my authorization to whoever it was that I spoke to. After that, it was okay. However, it was a mediocre service. The bumps along the way didn't help the situation.
I originally paid 445 and somehow JG Wentworth increased it to 600-something. Nobody explained it to me and I didn't like that. Plus, the huge increase hurt me a lot. Maybe it was because one creditor that they were working with happened to be Chase, and they couldn't minimize it as much as they would like to. I didn't like that I paid that amount though.
Another thing that I was a little bothered with was I stopped working while I was still doing JG Wentworth's program and I still had seven months left to pay off. I reached out to JG Wentworth through email letting them know that I was having a hard time making the payments, and I did not like the way I was treated. There was a gentleman who responded with, "What do you want me to do? You're gonna take a month?" He was not sympathetic with me not working. I asked for two months to try to come up with the money. He was rude about that, saying that he could only work with me for two weeks, and I had no income. He was not sensitive to my situation even though I've been on time paying the company and letting them know I had no money. He didn't care for it, and at that point, I was enraged a bit. I paid the debt using my savings and I said never again will I come back to this company.
There was another situation where I felt JG Wentworth tried to scam me. I got an email from the company saying congratulations I graduated, meaning I paid my debt in full, then towards the end, the payment was different. I was paying a lot, then they minimized it to 400-something and I overpaid, which they gave me my money back. I'm grateful for that. However, it was very strange that a man called me saying that he was an attorney working at JG Wentworth and that the company made a mistake with my account. He said I owed one more payment, and I was a little guarded. I asked if he could give me that in writing because up until now I'm sure the company didn't mess up and sent me some confirmation that I graduated and then got me that phone call saying that I still owed one more payment.
I thought he was trying to hack me because he asked, "Do you give the approval for the payment?" I said, "No, I don't." I told him to show it to me in black and white first, then I would approve it. I wanted it via email, letting me know and breaking things down so there's a paper trail. He said, "Okay. No problem. I'll type up that email right now and I'll give it to you right now." He never did. I called back with different numbers because JG Wentworth did appear on my phone, but I thought "It could be a scam." I used my mom's phone and whoever answered did answer JG Wentworth. I had my best friend call too just to make sure that it was a JG Wentworth line, and it was.
There were a couple of months that I was always checking my email and waiting for a notification. I'm glad that I was accurate that I paid myself in full. It was a huge hiccup being that the company gave me that congratulation letter and then they told me that I still owed some money. All in all, would I recommend JG Wentworth Debt Relief? I would, but to each their own. If I recommend someone, I will tell them my opinion and what happened to me, which may not happen to them. Everybody's experience is different. Maybe I just happened to get the wrong people helping me, but God works in mysterious ways, which He covered me, making sure that I got things done.
