I'm a Chase customer, and honestly, this bank has frozen my accounts. They won't send me the money from the account they closed. I've been calling customer service for over a month, which seems to be in a country other than the United States. They don't answer my questions and just hang up on me. I still haven't gotten my money back, and no one from the bank will help. This bank is a scammer.

I have read some many reviews on the bank practice at Chase bank. My husband and I previous mortgage company (Quicken Loan/ Rocket Mortage) was sold to Chase Bank. The mortgage payment is due the 1st of each month as it was with the previous mortgage company. I made the payment on August 1st for September payment. However, I received an email stating that we made 2 payments from each one of our accounts. I was very confused! I only made one payment that was processed through my husband's account. The bank tried to process two payments.
The supervisor from Chase called my bank to confirm I did not authorize any payment. Furthermore, my bank confirmed that I did not authorize Chase to take anything out of my account. The authorizing was for my husband's account and our bank confirmed that amount to Chase. My account number is on file under our mortgage loan as well. However, we only use my husband's account for the payments. I am not happy and wasn't happy when our mortgage loan was sold to Chase Bank. I'm going to look into this and speak with someone in the ethics compliance department.

I opened my first checking account with Chase Bank in Merrillville IN in around 2012. I was met by a very professional and courteous personal banker. He explained many benefits of my checking account to me. He also took time with patience to explain other Chase banking options and benefits. Fast forward 2025 March I was also discriminated against by the current branch manager. She was very rude to me due to me coming to inquire about a tollway scam in Indiana & Illinois. She was degrading and told me to step out of the booth with the personal banker. She also threatened to call the police on me. I became so upset and could not believe the treatment. Resolutions sent me a letter. I admit that because of my Sister's death I did not get the letter returned in a timely manner.
I woke up a month later to find that he had closed all my accounts and was very dishonest that I was the rude customer and that I cannot bank with ANY Chase Bank. She was very aggressive in nature and I am not surprised in her behavior but surprised by Chase Bank after many years as a loyal customer. I am happy to be banking elsewhere but saddened by her actions and dishonesty as the branch manager.

Had 2 back-to-back incidents at Chase bank. After banking with Chase for 20+ years, finally moving to another back. First I was racially discriminated when I tried to open a Wealth Management account with a Private Client Advisor and I had $110k to move over. But Kyle ** (The Colony branch, TX) kept persuading me that I am better suited with "Personal Advisors" instead of a "Private Client". Also, said that I need $150k whereas on the website, it clearly says that minimum investment is $100k. Secondly, even though they recognize that I was a victim of a fraudulent Expedia scam of $1,160.34, they refuse to do anything about it. Shame on Chase! #disappointed #loyalcustomer #NeverAgain

My first week with Chase has been extremely disappointing. I visited one of their branches in West Palm Beach, Florida, and was surprised by how unclean and unprofessional it appeared. There was a duct hanging from the ceiling down to one side of the lobby, which was especially noticeable on a rainy day. After opening my account, I encountered numerous issues when trying to set up online and mobile banking. The app requires extensive security questions just to access my account, which is frustrating. When I attempted to send money via Zelle to an external account I own, my account was blocked due to suspicious activity. I had to call customer service multiple times during this process to resolve these issues.
Additionally, they mixed up my accounts, making it difficult to keep everything organized. They suggested having all accounts in one place, but I prefer to keep some separate—particularly since my husband is the one who makes payments on our car loan. Overall, I am very disappointed with the process and the system’s performance. It has been a frustrating experience, and I am seriously considering switching banks again.

I've been a Chase customer for over 30 years with personal and business accounts and credit card also. I closed my personal some time ago due to growing problems, I recently closed a business account and opened a new business account, I'm about to close that one and move away from Chase for good. They've really gone downhill in the last 10-15 years. The "additional" security they say is required by changes in the law is a flat out lie. It's added inconvenience for you to help cover their own butts and or make things better or easier for them at your expense. I initially opened accounts with Chase since I traveled a lot and they had the most ATMs in the US. That's no longer an issue you can usually use any ATM and pay up to a few dollar fee for various transactions. The customer service has gone downhill both at the branches and if you call in.
That is, if you call in and get through to someone after going through a gauntlet of questions and verifications. Even the credit cards I've had for a long time, they've slowly been increasing the interest rate, when I ask them why they say that I don't use them enough and I pay them off each month. It's one joke after another. As Chase has become the biggest bank in the world they also became the bank with the most problems for customers. Do yourself a favor and take ALL your banking needs elsewhere.

Cost me thousands of dollars when they lost materials I sent them and would not honor the original loan terms when loan terms changed. Cumbersome systems that they have no interest in improving. "That's just the way it is" No way to call back the person you were talking with originally. Phone trees that are irrelevant and confusing. Customer "service" agents trained in script reading rather than problem solving.

I’m very disappointed with Chase Bank. I applied for a credit card after seeing their widely advertised “15 months 0% APR” offer, which seemed like a great deal. But after receiving the card and reviewing the terms, I discovered there was no 0% APR at all—instead, my interest rate was a shocking 21.74%. This feels like a bait-and-switch tactic. They promote 0% interest to attract customers, then lock you in with a high APR once you’ve signed up. For such a large, reputable bank, this kind of misleading practice is unacceptable. Chase comes across as deceptive and untrustworthy. I strongly recommend avoiding them if you don’t want to be misled or stuck with an outrageous rate.

On 8/19/2025, 13:01. I walked into this branch to deposit cash of 700$. There were 6 of 100$ bills and 5 of 20$ bills, together 700$. I counted them on the Chase counter, in front of the teller Dena, before I hand them to the her. It was 700$, and the area I counted the cash was a right ankle that Chase camera on the ceiling would capture clearly. Cashbox #07, Session #16, Transaction #34.
After I hand the 700$ to teller Dena, I looked down to my wallet because I needed to put back my debit card. Then I heard her saying it's only 660$. In between her have my cash and the cash goes on the counting machine, I lost eye contact of the money about 10 seconds. I immediately ask my money back and count again. At this time, it's too late, only 660$ left. Even I lost eye contact for that time, but the camera on ceiling capture everything.
The deposit amount still shows 700$ now in my account because I needed to deposit 700$ so it's enough to pay credit card bills, so I pulled money Again from my wallet which was 40$ to make it become 700$ again. The camera would also capture me pulled money the 2nd time from wallet. I know 40$ is not a very big amount, but if this happens as a pattern on different customers too, together could be a big amount. Everything was captured on the camera including I was counting the 700$ on the counter at the very beginning, the evidence is there. I hope Chase can investigate on this.

I have had two separate issues recently after years of no problems. Issue number one, somehow through a Roku device I was charged for an annual subscription for Paramount+ and I asked for the charge to be reversed because I was also being charged a monthly fee for a subscription for a Paramount+. They had okayed it and then reversed it and took the money back out of my account after a couple of weeks. So they allowed me to be double charged for the same thing even though you could see that it was the same thing.
Today I called because my father had written me a check a week ago. They use voice recognition to allow you to have conversations with staff. They asked me what my verbal passcode was. I never set one up. I have no idea what it is. They refused to talk to me even though you need your Social Security number, your bank card, and your own voice recognition to talk to someone. So I’m going to wait for my father‘s check to clear and I am closing that account. I am done with this bank. I just bought a car and I needed to know why it was going to take so long for the check to clear and they won’t help me when I call. I had initially gone into the bank and they wouldn’t help me in person. So why would I continue to give them my money if they can’t help me at all? There are a ton of different banks and Chase is seriously lacking.

I had a 3000 rent check forged and stolen from me and reported it immediately. Chase informed me that I would be credited with the amount within 5 days while Chase did their investigation. When I actually submitted the form they wanted (immediately) I was then told that no Chase actually doesn’t provide any fraud protection for checks and I would have to wait and see if the other bank where the check was deposited would credit my account. The investigation is ongoing and I still haven’t received my money back. For such a large bank to have absolutely no protection for their customers is extremely disappointing especially after the agent told me otherwise. Go elsewhere with your money to somewhere that will protect you.

My name is Heather, and I live in Tampa, Florida. I’ve been with Chase Bank for over 30 years, both personally and with business accounts. A few months ago, I opened a new business account, but recently I received a letter saying Chase decided to close it. I spoke with a supervisor, hoping for an explanation, but she told me she couldn’t give me any reason. That was extremely painful to hear. I felt like I was being treated unfairly, maybe even discriminated against, for some reason I don’t understand.
Yes, I’ve had some recent financial struggles, and my credit has gone down, but after such a long relationship with Chase, I don’t think I deserve this kind of treatment. At the very least, I deserve to know why. Instead, I was left with rejection and silence. I’ve never felt this kind of humiliation and disappointment from a bank I trusted for decades.

I been with Chase Bank in Waco for over two years and it's only getting worse, especially on new road. Also there's a older ** lady at the Chase bank near Baylor University that is very disrespectful and unprofessional but let's get back to Chase Bank. For two years I have had a checking account with Chase Bank and have my VA retirement check going to the bank. I have direct deposit and direct deposit privileges. I'm a retired Disabled Veteran 100 percent. I have gotten over draft when I need it and the bank has always gotten their money back, especially when I have direct deposit and direct deposit privileges, which means the bank gets it money before I do, but this month August I was refuse overdraft privileges and I ask why.
The bank and a bank supervisor says that they give overdraft to whoever they want and don't have to give it to others if they choose not to, but get this... I've had overdraft privileges for over two years and never been denied it before this month August, especially when my VA retirement check is deposited directly to the Chase bank. I ask several customers service representative and even a supervisor and get very nasty when I asked who do I talk to about why I don't have over draft privileges anymore. I will be closing my account with them, the Chase Bank in Waco Texas and also filing a complaint with BBB and AARP about the way I was treated when my VA retirement check go directly to Chase Bank. I rate them a minus 0 for customer service and for taking away my overdraft privileges with no reason in August and no one can explain why.

I am extremely disappointed with my recent experience as a new Chase customer. After making my very first deposit, Chase placed a hold on the funds without providing a clear explanation. Once that hold was released, I attempted to make my first Zelle transfer — only to have my online account blocked three times consecutively.
What makes this experience more frustrating is that, despite repeated attempts to get answers, I have not received a resolution or a satisfactory explanation from Chase. For a company valued at over $800 billion, with extensive resources and technology at its disposal, I would expect a far more professional and technically adept customer experience. As someone who trusted Chase with my financial needs, this initial experience has been both discouraging and disappointing.

The staff member assisting me spoke to me in a rude manner and asked questions without clarifying what she meant. She insisted on knowing my reason for closing the account, even though I explained that I preferred to speak with a banker privately due to my personal situation. Despite this, she repeated her questions multiple times and insisted it was required that I answer.
I felt uncomfortable sharing my personal circumstances in front of others. Eventually, I was told to wait until a banker was available. When another banker came to assist, he also treated me rudely and was difficult to understand. Overall, I was made to feel unwelcome and my concerns were not handled with respect or empathy. The bank's policy on large check deposits is arguably criminal. I deposited a 6 figure check (my portion of an asset sale) from my business partner on 8/8 (Friday) and they placed a 7 business day hold on the deposit. This has happened before but I’ve always called and had them verify with issuing bank and release the hold thereafter. Problem is that issuing bank no longer verifies to “third parties”. Issuing bank did however send a snapshot of transaction clearly showing the check was paid on 8/11 (following Monday). Chase refuses to accept that as verification and has advised that the hold was placed as the transaction was “uncommon” for my account. They act like they don’t really know whether or not they actually have the funds. Truth is they are using my money for an unacceptable period.
I understand and have absolutely no problem with a reasonable hold on a large check deposit but 7 business days (10 calendar) and 6 business days after the check has verifiably been cleared is an absolute travesty. This is also after 4 calls to their “hold department” and 1 to a local branch. The branch manager, BTW, was cordial, professional and tried diligently to assist, however she was clearly handcuffed by bank policy and overridden after reaching out to the “hold team” once again on my behalf. My funds are scheduled to be available on 8/19. I realize Chase isn’t making a ton of money off my $115k for 5 or 6 days, but multiply that times the other throngs of customers being arbitrarily treated similarly and it adds up.

After years with Chase and always paying on time, I recently asked for practical help to manage a high ongoing APR or to speed up paying down my balance. Instead of guidance or real options (like a temporary rate reduction, a balance transfer offer, or a structured repayment plan), I encountered dismissiveness and a complete lack of support. It felt like I was being told to figure it out myself. If this is how Chase treats loyal customers who need a reasonable path to lower interest, I’m rethinking where I keep my cards. To Whom It May Concern Chase Bank – Customer Relations. Subject: Denied Access to Funds During Medical Emergency – July 28, 2022. I am writing to share a troubling experience that occurred at your branch located at 4843 N Kedzie Avenue, Chicago, on the morning of July 28, 2022. That day, I was preparing to bring my wife to Swedish Covenant Hospital’s emergency room due to severe pain and limited mobility. Before heading there, I stopped at your branch to withdraw $300 in cash to cover immediate expenses. The ATM did not allow the withdrawal, so I went inside to request assistance.
I approached a bank employee seated at one of the customer service cubicles. I explained to a bank employee that my wife was in our car outside, unable to walk due to her condition. From where he was seated, the car was clearly visible, approximately 100 to 120 feet away. I asked if he could step outside to verify her identity so I could access our funds. He refused, stating Bank Policy and she needed to come inside. I repeated that she was in pain and could barely walk, but he again declined to help.
I left the bank feeling shocked and disturbed by the lack of compassion and flexibility shown during a clear medical emergency. My wife was admitted to Swedish Covenant’s emergency ward for approximately 10 hours and later transferred by ambulance to Skokie Hospital for orthopedic surgery. She remained hospitalized until August 2, 2022.
We had approximately $700 in our account at the time. I was not asking for a loan or special treatment—just access to our own funds to manage a crisis. I’ve asked nurses, doctors, EMT personnel, and community members what I could have done differently. All responded with sympathy and disbelief that we were denied help. So, I ask now, respectfully and without bitterness: Is there truly no policy or discretion available for situations like this—where a customer is in medical distress and simply needs access to their own money? I share this not to seek an apology, but to raise a question that deserves reflection. Emergencies don’t follow protocol, and sometimes compassion must guide policy.
Sincerely,
Enrique****

Chase is, without question, the worst bank I’ve ever dealt with. They flat-out held my business funds hostage, lied repeatedly, and gave me the runaround for days. They froze my business assets, $195,000. Froze my account, wouldn't even let me login. Even after verify a check 3 times with a client and their bank. Only days later giving me access to my account and showing that they funds were available. They STILL did not let me transfer funds out of the account or make payments to suppliers or anything.
If you’re considering opening a business account with Chase, don’t. Unless you enjoy being treated like a criminal for trying to access your own money, pissing off your clients, jeopardizing your business relationships, and blowing up your production schedule—costing you thousands—stay far away. These institutions have way too much power, and we hand them carte blanche to screw us over and essentially commit legalized theft. I will be pursing legal action against them as they have already cost me thousands of dollars.

Within the last year, Chase has really failed at conducting large business transactions so much that I am looking for another bank to move my business and personal accounts too. Back in October, I had to transfer $12,000 for my commercial lease for deposits and first month's rent, and all I got was a full day panic attack. I started out my day physically going into my Chase bank to fill out paperwork to initiate a wire transfer, which the teller told me was the best way to get the money over. Went though all identification process and sent the transfer then went into work.
At noon I got a phone call to verify the transfer, and then an hour or two later the funds were returned to my account less $50 of it. When I called, they said there was a fraud alert put on the wire transfer that I was charged a nonrefundable $50 for, and then I had to rush to the bank before they closed to get a cashier's check to physically take to the leasing agent to secure our commercial space. By the time I could break free and get to the bank, it was 4:55pm. The representative at the beginning of the day should have notified me that Chase is not capable of processing large wire transfers, and I would have just gone with a cashier's check in the first place at 9am.
More recently, I deposited a check of $7,700 that was for a contractor for a roof. Instead of depositing the funds in 2 days like the Chase teller told me, they made a decision to place a 10 day hold on the check without informing me. I called on the day it was supposed to be available at 7:30am and ended up having to call 3 more times throughout the day and go into a branch location in person at 4:45pm. Chase called the person who wrote the check to confirm it was legit, and that got completed, and then they went through all these fraud channels that got denied by the system. By the end of the day sorry was the only answer to why the funds had to be held for the full 10 days to get approval to be deposited.
In the mean time I have pissed off contractors who want to get paid that I have to turn around and apologize to because Chase needs my money more than me. Chase also assessed 5 overdraft fees in that account while they were "holding" the funds because none of the funds from the check were available immediately like all other deposits on the planet. Even the teller told me that $275 of it would be available immediately. Very convenient business operations. Once again, the teller should have informed me that it would be better to withdraw cash and deposit that instead of a check.
Ultimately, Chase has difficulty processing large transactions for small businesses. I've not had the same issue with my personal account as I don't remember having any issues depositing $5-9,000 in there at a time. I just don't think Chase is really set up for business transactions, and everything on their back end is handled by AI and through the system. The employees don't even have any manual override control. All they can do is apologize to customers that the computers determine what looks fraudulent or not, and the employees can't do anything about it. I just randomly got chosen twice this year for fraud. I no longer want to bank with a bank who treats me like a criminal when I'm just trying to get people paid.

Despite this, Chase’s dispute team sided with the merchant, who not only kept both my money and the product, but also provided false information to mislead the resolution process.
What’s most troubling is that I made multiple attempts over the course of a year to escalate and resolve this, only to be met with dismissive or automated responses. As an ** woman, I cannot help but feel that my case was not taken seriously, and that bias may have influenced the outcome. This experience has shaken my trust in Chase. I am so disappointed that I chose this bank to run my business account... I’m not sure where to begin. Simple transactions like writing a check to a vendor if they do not like the check they will just cancel it and NEVER call you or notify you. This is embarrassing because you have to look into your account and wait on the phone for hours and go through so many checks and balances Just for them to tell you “well sorry I know you wanted to issue a check but we’re not going to send this specific vendor a check” and they never give you a reason.
It gets worse.. so I gravitate away from hand written checks because Chase doesn’t like checks…. I then try to send an “ACH payment” to a vendor so that I can get labor and employees on a project so that I can run my business… They promised to send the payment within one day… They then decide “well we’re not gonna send this payment either and we’re NOT going to notify you and tell you that we’re not going to send the payment… You’re going to have to log into your account and call us and go through so many hoops to figure out why we decided not to send this ACH payment to your vendor… and then you have to wait two or three more days” before they’ll send that money to your vendor.. if they send it at all..
And on top of it, they charge you a fee for the service that they promised to provide within one day and it’s more like four or five days.. Try to pull cash same thing they want to know why even if it’s your money well they don’t like that you’re taking cash.. It’s almost like they’re holding your money hostage. It’s so embarrassing where you have hundreds of thousands of dollars in a Chase account and you’re trying to pay a vendor of measly 10 grand and they refuse to send it..
This is absolutely the worst banking experience I’ve ever had in my entire life. It’s so embarrassing to try to run a legitimate business… With a bank that does not know how to do simple things like “banking transactions”… Every other bank contacts you first to confirm that you wrote a check or are trying to send a wire, etc. etc. before they cancel a transaction.. they text you , they email you.. they call you .. Chase does none of these things!!! NONE NONE NONE… If you want to run a reputable business, stay very far away from this bank.. To be absolutely clear this is: JP MORGAN CHASE BANK NA .. I go could give you zero stars I would.. Thank me later. Avoid this bank at all costs.

I proceeded to physically hand the teller $4,000 (40x$100 bills) while also verbally communicating that it was $4,000. Then I handed her $1,000 (10x $100 bills) and verbally communicated that it was $1,000. Lastly, I handed her $2,000 (mix of $50, $20, $10 notes) also verbally communicating that it was $2,000 in various notes.
The cashier never physically counted the cash I handed her, only used the money counting machine but never communicated to me the total. The teller counted each increment individually; I could not see the total displayed anywhere At this point there was zero communication that the increments were different than what I handed her and communicated to her. She told me to look at the pin pad for the total and press the green button while she put the money into the large money counter. The screen displayed $6,000.
I immediately told her that was not the correct amount that I gave her. She said that the money was already in the machine, and she could not take it out to recount it in front of me. So one amount was put on the counter, but "magically" different one was under the counter. I asked the manager to recount money, but they only performed an audit of the machine. I requested to check the cameras to see where the error occurred but was informed that can't be done. The lack of professionalism, transparency, and honest business practices is shocking in this case.

We attempted to do this and the transaction didn’t go through. After numerous phone calls to Chase customer service, we were told all was good and to go ahead and make our purchases. It STILL didn’t go through. We have an "exceptional" credit score so there shouldn’t have been any problems there. I would NOT RECOMMEND doing any business with Chase Bank. Very bad experience here!!!

After one year Chase suddenly with no communication has decided to close my banking account mandating that I violate tax law and defraud the IRS in order to keep my account open. They communicate horribly in spite of the fact that I have a relationship manager and phone number easily visible in the system to bankers. They have sent nothing in the mail nor communicated with me by phone or email in coming to this decision. Chase is dangerous to do business with as a small business because they have now injured me financially and refused in any way, shape or form your immediate their injury. They have committed an estoppel in violating my banking contract with them as well.

They want me to miss my deadline for payment of the promotion, so they can charge me FULL INTEREST on that balance. Are you kidding me right now??? This is CRIMINAL! They never explained this LOVELY OFFER in these terms. Their offer was misleading and designed to take my funds. What a fool I was to believe they were helping me. I was just getting ready to move my account to Chase from Wells Fargo. Not anymore. I think I will leave my business right where it is. Wow - talk about greed. I ran into financial problems and became overdrawn and still had three more weeks to go until.my next check would be deposited. I informed Chase that I could not add any money and a lot of autopays came through causing overdraft and the was charged $34.00 for each. I just got my social security payment today and there were 11 overdraft charges totaling $340.00. That money was needed for groceries and gas. Now in a few weeks I'll be short again and unfortunately may get overdrawn again. Chase will not reverse charges stating policy. They could if they wanted too but they won't. They show me my card in my app and allow me to place my card in my Google wallet so that I can still use my money without having to go into the bank. Well after the first two or three times of me getting money out the bank and putting money in the bank using my phone every time that I push the tap it says have to verify your identity. I have to talk to three people they tell me a lot of bull. They say, "Oh we're going to send you an email so you can verify your dinner". You can't. I went through it so many times that I couldn't get my money at a time when I was about to run out of gas and in the distance between Chase ATMs is ridiculous especially for the tap.
My fault. I lost my card. That's my fault but if I'm out of Chase ATM My card is in my digital wallet, you have my phone number, you hang up, you call me back, you verify it's me and I still can't get my money and you tell me that I have to go to another Chase ATM and try because I'm I'm flagged as a high risk. How in the hell is it that I cannot get my money when I need it the most. Even when I'm talking to you on the phone worst experience ever. If you need your money keep it in your pocket all of it. Keep just enough money in the bank to pay your bills, add money to pay your bills because at some point this type of behavior is going to be a nationwide event and everybody is not going to have access to their money. I see where this is going.

Recently retired and want to do some travel. Have been a Chase Visa card holder for over 10 years - no major issues until now. Decided to apply for a travel-oriented credit card to get points for airlines. Credit rating of 810 (latest)/850 (on Experian). Chase denied my application and listed the reason as 'not holding on to current card long enough'.
I called to find out exactly what that meant; call was answered by someone who could barely speak English and could only read a script. After 4 transfers to get someone who spoke English (and being hung up on twice), I finally reached someone who seemed more comfortable with the English language. Could not give me an explanation as to why a customer of over 10 years didn't have the card long enough to qualify for a different card. Best they could do was re-submit the application and hope for a better outcome.
I asked for someone at Chase to give me a call to discuss the situation - all I got was 'yes, maybe someone will contact you.' Have applied for and received another card - from a different company - to use for travel. Will cancel my accounts with Chase and no longer do business with them. BTW, I receive almost weekly offers from Chase for various credit cards - either through the mail or email. I will block them.

NFCU returned the check the same day it was received with a letter explaining the problem and asking for more info. (Even a copy of the original request form would have solved things.) Chase did not respond to NFCU. Chase who knew whose money it was did not contact me. Now over a month later, Chase still has free use of my money while I jump through hoops to get my money. Chase wants me to pay a notary to witness a letter stating that I don't have and didn't cash the check even though they have already admitted (have a record of) destroying the check. I rely on Zelle daily for both personal and business transactions, and immediately following this incident, I was unable to access Zelle through my Chase mobile and desktop banking apps. I contacted Zelle customer service twice and spoke with two different representatives, both of whom directed me to Chase for resolution. I subsequently spoke with four different Chase representatives over the phone, and also visited a local branch to speak with a representative in person.
Eventually, one Chase representative confirmed that Chase had indeed blocked or removed my phone number from Zelle. She attempted to escalate the issue to the IT support team. After following up, she informed me that my number was blocked from using Zelle, but no specific reason could be provided other than that Zelle was no longer available to me. I received no explanation for why this occurred, nor any guidance on how to resolve it.
As a small business owner, I rely on Zelle to receive payments from clients and to manage essential expenses such as rent. I also use it frequently for routine transactions with friends and family. None of my Zelle activity is suspicious or in violation of any policies. There is absolutely no justification for my access to Zelle to be revoked without warning, explanation, or recourse. I am requesting immediate clarification regarding this action, the rationale behind it, and what steps can be taken to reinstate my access to Zelle. This disruption is impacting both my personal life and my livelihood.

The two branches I do most of my business at have really nice personnel working there. They are friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. On-line banking is easily accessible. The reason I did not give Chase a perfect score is because of the issues I had receiving compensation for referring 2 family members to Chase. I sent them the link to refer a friend to apply for a credit card and neither were able to get a reply on whether or not their applications for a card were approved. When they went into the branch, they were told the approval was pending and they should contact customer service.
When they contact customer service, they were both told they were approved and should receive their cards in the mail. When I realized I was never credited for the referral, I messaged and called Chase. I provided both new members' information and was told it would be investigated. I was later advised by Chase that because the new members did not apply through the refer a friend link, I did not qualify for the $100 credit. I explained the issue with the link, like I had done before. I still did not receive the credit after going round and round with customer service. The $100 credit was not the issue but it was the way Chase seem to discredit what happened, even though they could clearly see both new members had recently applied and were approved for the credit cards. I have not referred anyone else to Chase after that incident.

Despite providing all the necessary legal documents, including the death certificate, Chase (particularly Ms. **) refused to issue checks directly to the funeral home and cemetery, claiming it was against their policy and the law—even though we were the rightful beneficiaries making the request.
This unnecessary obstacle delayed our ability to lay our mother to rest by two whole weeks, which was not only emotionally devastating but financially burdensome, especially as we were traveling from the Bahamas each time. The funeral home and cemetery staff were shocked by how we were treated. We were told checks could only be made out to us personally, and to make matters worse, they couldn’t even be cashed at the same bank that issued them. What was promised to be a one-hour process dragged into days of painful back-and-forth. In fact, the first check was only finally issued one day before the scheduled service. It honestly felt like Chase Bank wasn’t just mishandling our mother’s account—they were completely disregarding our grief, and with no sense of urgency or humanity.
The lack of sympathy and the sheer incompetence shown during this time was appalling. I thank God I will never have to do business with Chase again. I recently received a message from Chase Bank online system stating they refused of my request to recover my lost funds from a scam. I am severely disappointed and saddened of the manner Chase chose to handle my case, and to so quickly dismiss it when there was no security or safety in place for me. I am again, dismayed that Chase doesn't have the decency to call and further discuss the details of my encounter, or even mail me a letter. To elaborate my case; On the morning of 03/25/2025 received a call from ** (Harrison County Sheriff's Office) stating he was Lieutenant ** with the Harrison County Sheriff's Department. He said a Jury Summons was mailed to me in January, and that since I failed to appear for my Jury Duty, two separate warrants had been issued to me for Failure to Appear and Contempt of Court for my arrest.
Lieutenant ** emailed me a copy of my arrest warrant, and instructed me that each offense carried a $5,500 cash fine. He gave me the option to remain on the telephone line with him and pay the fines that day with the understanding that was under a gag-order, and failure to comply, disconnect our line of communication, or mention this to anyone, would breach my gag-order, and result in additional fines and/or arrest. I complied with Lieutenant ** orders, drove to my Chase Bank to withdraw the necessary $11,000.00 in fines, and made the requested deposits into an ATM account as instructed. Meanwhile, our telephone line disconnected, Lieutenant ** called me back and stated since I breached our line of communication, it carried another $5000.00 fine.
I explained that I didn't have that amount of cash, and would not be able to attempt and withdraw any additional funds from my Bank until the next morning. He reminded me that I was still under a gag order, asked that I send him $1000.00 to his personal Cash-App digital wallet to avoid arrest as a holding deposit for the additional fine of breaching our line of communication, stay in a hotel for the night, and we would address the situation in the morning when I could return to my Banking Institution. I stayed the night in a local hotel, did not speak with anyone regarding this situation, while having Lieutenant ** remaining on my phone line the entire night, telling me he had pinged my phone and it was being bugged by security and monitored for other calls and messages. First thing the following morning I returned to my bank, where I was later met by Corporal ** with the Harrison County Sheriff's office, and my husband to learn that there was a missing person multi state BOLO out for me, and informed me that I was a victim of an elaborate scam.
I have been a loyal customer of Chase Bank for over 50 years (since I was a teenager), and before Chase was "Bank One". I was obviously nervous, upset, shaking, and had been crying when I went into the Chase Banking establishment to withdraw these funds, yet neither teller nor security seemed to ask any questions or request a "safe word" from me. This entire experience has been very traumatic, and will take much time for me to recover. Given Chase's decision and lack of concern, I have decided to close my Chase account and take my banking to a different Banking Institution that has more empathy for their customers, their safety, and appreciates the loyal years of service given to them before so quickly judging.
