Chase bank is poor customer service. Really they’re gonna hold my check for $200 for a review. That’s a New York State check OK so you don’t want to release it. That’s fine. Now you lost a customer. Very very, very poor customer service and if I was to rate this bank. I’d give you a one star. Now I’m gonna close my bank account out and do business with somebody else. How about that? Thanks for your service cause it was disgusting.

Chase has a hold on my deposited check and has passed the hold date listed. I have a 27-year personal and 19 year old business account and have deposited checks from my same clients for the same amount of time. This is my working capital on hold, it pays my bills, mortgage and everything. Chase for the last two weeks have accepted monthly pos overdrawing my account and tacking on overdraft fees while a $15,000 deposit sits in their so-called BS limbo account, while they check to see if their 27-year customer is depositing fake checks.

I took my Jeep Renegade to the Shell station on Duke street in Durham, NC and put $30 and change worth of fuel in it. Filled it up. Then I see a $70 even charge on my account from Shell. I assume it was a hold because fuel stations do that. It never changed so I called the fraud department of Chase and the lady whose English wasn’t that great repeatedly tells me there’s nothing they can because I don’t have a receipt. So I have to prove to my bank that I didn’t get $70 worth of fuel instead of the store proving that I didn’t get get $70 worth of fuel because there’s no way they could. Also the store's number was just an automated message that told me to call my bank. Thanks for looking out for my money Chase.

Those bank tries to hold your money as much as possible. I deposit a check from that bank and because I'm an account holder they hold the money but if I take the check and I don't hold accounts there I get the money immediately. That explains itself and the character of this bank. Not a customer concerned bank. More concerned about getting new customers and that's because they can't keep current ones.

US Banking and in particular Chase are in the dark ages when it comes to digital, secure and modern transaction management. Coming from Australia with a modern, seamless and cutting edge banking sector, and having experience in several other nations, the archaic and bureaucratic nature of Chase in the USA is a nightmare. Avoid if you can and look for a smaller more innovative customer focused bank. They may be big, but bigger is certainly not better in this case.

If I could give 0 stars, I would. Chase is absolutely horrendous. One time I disputed a purchase that hadn’t arrived and was lost in transit. The item arrived a week later after the dispute was filed. After providing MULTIPLE receipts and proof they told me that the merchant had refunded me. This was false and they still denied my claim. After showing transcripts, RECEIPTS and tracking information they said, “The merchant says they won’t pay us so we charge you.” WHAT SENSE DOES THAT MAKE.

Follow up with today where I had to file a dispute because I placed a stop payment on something 2 weeks ago. They allowed the charges to go through after REVIEWING THE STOP PAYMENT AND SEEING IT’S THE SAME MERCHANT because “the merchant charged again saying you owe the money”.. A stop payment that you charged me a fee for should trump any of that. And the verbiage they used isn’t correct so that claim could get denied too even though there’s a stop payment in place. At this point I'm looking for another bank.

To whom it may concern, The scam started on September 10. They Threatened then intimidated me that accounts would be set up if I didn’t listen to them, thousands of dollars will be taken out of my account through Zelle. I just got scammed on my Chase account got a phone call number. Said it was from Chase. Told me that I was being hacked in New York through my Zelle account phone number and they needed to give me cancellation codes for two attempts under 1000 each. Scared the heck up me and convince me to go along with him. Gave me some cancellation codes to give to Zelle. Gave me a number for Zelle. Called Zelle so continued. Did some maneuvering through my Zelle account. Nothing happened. They said they will call me tomorrow on the 11th and they would straighten everything out.

Talk to them about 10 3011 on the 11th. Went through my account. All different numbers they gave me to send to their supervisor. Finally three went through from Zelle and the other one went through. They used APPLE. They told me everything was successful and within an hour till they’ll call me back and they’ll complete securing my accounts. This was completed about 12. 1 o’clock took a shower in the shower. Thought of something to ask. Call the number back. They gave me for Zelle and they wouldn’t answer. Wouldn’t answer. Wouldn’t answer but very nervous called my Chase original number for my credit card and went to the fraud department and they told me they had no such fraud number, no activity and I needed it. I was scammed and they needed to make a case number and to draw the money back.

There will be no problem with Zelle, but APPLE I would have to go through direct. I did so and to make no long story short no response from no one, money went through, went to the bank, got to run around for the bank. Teller and from the Bank Vice President. Got the runaround from the fraud department within an hour. It was three days before anyone from the bank got back to me. We were the claim was refused with a short electronic response. Unbelievable customer relations in hours. They decline my claim them then they reviewed. It supposedly again knocked it down again an electronic message through my account not even the decency for good customer relationship through a letter or a phone call.

Total protocol was being done to me. Chase was definitely not going to take responsibility. Have proof of emails from Chase phone number phone calls from Chase from these people. How could they not take responsibility? I'm 80 years old. I’ve been with Chase for 55 years when it was J.P. Morgan and it was just Chase company before they merge. Can I believe not only do they outsource you but they don’t even recognize you anymore.

Chase has the worst customer service of any bank on planet Earth. I tried to send a domestic wire transfer for $1,500 (while keeping 10x that amount in my account). This was Chase Bank’s process:
    1. I submitted the transfer online.
    2. Chase denied the transfer for no reason and sent me an email saying “try again.”
    3. I tried again. Then heard nothing for 24 hours, so assumed it went through.
    4. A spammy Chase number left me a voicemail to call them about potential fraud.
    5. I called, spoke with three people over 26 minutes, and was told the transfer would go through.
    6. Three hours later, I got another message saying to call Chase. Since I was near a branch, I went in.
    7. The private banker told me he wasn’t authorized to help and suggested I call Chase fraud from his desk. I had my debit card, ID, etc. with me.
    8. I called, was transferred three more times, and after 25 minutes was told the transfer would go through soon.
    9. Three hours later, I got a call saying the transfer did not go through, and I needed to call Chase again.
    10. I called again, was transferred three more times, spent another 25 mins, and was told to call back the next day.
    11. I called the next morning (now more than 72 hours into this ordeal). And after two transfers and 30 minutes on hold, Chase dropped the call - it hung up on me.
    12. I called back. After two transfers and 30 minutes more, I was told Chase would call me back.

    13. Chase called, asked me the same security questions I’d been asked for three days, and finally told me—for the first time—that the recipient account had been associated with fraud. They said my recipient might not get the funds and that it wouldn’t be Chase’s responsibility.

Why didn’t Chase tell me this immediately instead of wasting six hours of my time? Better yet, why allow transfers to accounts flagged for fraud at all? The website should say something like: “This account has been associated with fraud. The minimum first transfer allowed is $100, which you may lose." Then, if that transfer succeeds, they can increase the transfers incrementally, like Zelle does. Chase would only do something this logical if they didn't detest their clients - unfortunately, they absolutely hate us.

Chase has not figured out fraud prevention and instead puts the burden and frustration on customers. They are, without exaggeration, the worst bank I have ever dealt with. If Chase truly wants to improve customer experience, they need to fix their entire system. Right now, it feels like they have no interest in improving, and that they actively try to create nightmares for their clients. Their website is also a joke. They should take a look at Metro Bank UK, which offers the best banking experience in the world.

Chase has gone completely downhill. My problems started from the very beginning. When I first set an appointment at the McPherson branch, the banker sat in his office doing nothing while we waited in the lobby. The receptionist kept asking if he was going to take us, and he said, “yes, when their appointment time is.” Then, five minutes before my appointment, another customer walked in and he helped them instead. I got up and walked out. Ten minutes after my appointment time, he called saying he was “ready now.” I told him I had already left — my time is just as valuable as his. Thankfully, the Granbury branch treated me better and helped me immediately.

Unfortunately, things only got worse. Earlier this year I opened a business account, and just last week I opened another. To fund it, I deposited a money order from my other bank. Chase immediately placed a hold on the deposit, then notified me they were closing the account.

I was out of town, so I called for help. The rep I spoke with was rude, dismissive, and offered no solutions. When I returned and went into the local branch, I found out Chase made a typo in my business name when setting up the account—leaving off an “s.” Their error caused this entire mess. After over an hour at the bank and multiple calls to my old bank to verify the funds, I was assured the money would be released that day or the next.

Of course, it wasn’t. I called the number they gave me, only to be hung up on after being on hold. No one called me back. I tried again—same thing. When I asked one rep if Chase would call me back if we got disconnected, I was told “No, it’s Chase’s policy not to return calls.” Absolutely absurd.

After pushing for help, I was told my money wouldn’t be released for 7 more days because “it’s a new account” and “there’s nothing they can do.” When I demanded a supervisor, I was put on hold for 45 minutes with no resolution.

This is by far the worst banking experience I’ve ever had. Chase made the mistake with my account, yet I’m the one being punished with no access to my own money and zero accountability from anyone. The lack of professionalism, constant hang-ups, and refusal to help customers is beyond unacceptable.

If you value your time, money, and sanity, avoid Chase. They are no longer the bank they once were.

Chase, pretending to be a consolidation offer, decided to drop ALL of my credit lines from their original limits to the amounts I owed on each of them which dropped my credit score over 200 points INSTANTLY!

I asked them to give me 30 minutes to transfer funds and pay them off but they DECLINED and proceeded to destroy my LONG STANDING perfect credit score. I am unable to run my businesses or even get home from my brother's funeral and will be forced into bankruptcy, foreclosure and have to close my companies. I have had nothing but a horrible experience since setting up a business checking account with Chase which was also supposed to simplify my ability to invoice my customers and receive credit card and ACH payments. I processed a credit card payment which was a loan from an extended family member and because we shared the same last name they said I violated their terms of service and held up the transaction from months. My Family member disputed the transaction as soon as Chase notified me that they flagged the transaction and shut off my payment processing ability. Then they ran a Zelle transaction twice after messaging me the first transaction was denied and flagged from fraud. I had to get my account unblocked and was instructed to run the payment a second time.

After they unlocked my account they processed but the first and second transaction even though they notified me the first one was denied and they would not credit the first transfer back to my account. Fortunately the contractor I was paying was honest and after waiting a week for the results of the dispute he returned the money. This bank has been horrible. The only reason I still bank with them is because I moved my credit card processing to Quickbooks through my CPA and they staff at my local branch are amazing especially the Private Client manager Anna **. If it wasn't for her and the people at the counter I would have closed my account months ago. This is a real shame because when Chase isn't screwing you over they have a great on-line portal and make things convenient but if there was a better option close to my farm I would move banks.

There were other issues that were reported and ignored. I never took further action because it like a waste of time. However, recently I am going through a situation that I feel cannot be ignored. This issue could have been prevented if Chase had: 1) better customer service, 2) better representation of facts, 3) better communication, 4) maybe shown a little compassion to their customer’s needs, 5) better disclosure of banks regulations, 6) employees knowing and doing their job especially from 30+ year service employee.

Chase has made this even more difficult from the poor customer service, poor misrepresentation of facts, poor communication, poor and unnecessary requests, unable to explain unreasonable time frames in processing forms, and finally the dishonesty and frustration created especially when no one wants to do their job and not held accountable for this poor performance. I do not understand how a company as large as Chase, all the years it has been in business, would allow this type of business. After going through this experience, Chase has NOT called or written with an explanation of apology for this poor service. Shame!

Absolutely horrendous customer service from the escalation team. Took 17 weeks to basically tell me they “atoned” with a Bluetooth speaker with giant Chase logo. Just insulting. Mortgage overview is as follows- My loan officer went away for 3 weeks about 2 weeks after I started the process. I was told at least 10 times that I could lower my rate by moving funds into Chase’s investments. Weeks later somebody finally told me that my investments didn’t qualify. Weeks after that, after I asked more questions, they acknowledged they were wrong and it would qualify. Unfortunately, Chase’s service fees are much higher, negating any potential reduction in interest rate.

I replied to many secured messages, only to find out that their secured message emails don’t work. Having a large corporation like Chase can’t figure that out is beyond me. And they never acknowledge the secure emails don’t work or why it’s put on their website until I kept telling them that I gave them the information they have requested multiple times already.

Duplicate request on a daily occurrence during the process increasing my frustration. I was given so much bad information that I feel it’s a miracle my loan was approved, although it only got approved a day before we closed on the house. So many managers were involved in everyone told me what I wanted to hear, but never came through. A manager brought up the atonement process and said she would request I get my good faith funds of $500 returned. After that, she ghosted me and I never heard from her again. I was later told that the request for the good faith funds being returned was made twice, but denied twice, without ever telling me or keeping me updated.

I found the contact info for the escalation team, which took 17 weeks to give me an answer which was, no return of the good faith funds, but as part of their atonement process, they’ve sent me a Bluetooth speaker complete with giant Chase logo that sells at Walmart for $29. How insulting. Absolutely terrible customer service and communication skills, and demeaning emails.

For many years I have had accounts with Chase. My experience is that they are very quick to take my funds but trying to get it back is unbelievable. I am attempting to transfer my IRA account to my credit union as a direct rollover after the RMD for 2025 has been deducted. I completed the application with the credit union and they were forced to send by snail mail because Chase does not supply a fax number on any of the documents sent to me. The credit union confirms they sent application requesting transfer. After three calls to Chase, I still have not been able to get a fax number for the correct department. I signed in and sent an email to Chase asking for confirmation they had received the transfer. Their response was this is not something that can be handled and "require the expertise of our Retirement Services specialists" with a number to call.

This department tells me a different department handles that "because it is on the bank side" (whatever that means) and connects me with Derrick who informs me that I cannot have a fax number because that is not the way Chase handles this type of transaction. Derrick did confirm that yes, if I come into the bank it can be handled internally. Chase says they have not received application. Credit union confirms they mailed. I am over an hour from the nearest Chase branch. As a senior, this is not an easy commute. The branch bank does not answer the phone.

Since I have no proof they can deny receipt until they deem it time to process the transaction. From pass experience they will take the longest possible time allowed. They held a SS direct deposit for 6 months after my spouse died. The longest legal allowable time. Even though 4 calls to the SS administration said a release had been sent to Chase. Why does Chase Bank, the No.1 bank in the United States under your watch, hire someone like this for security work? Could it be that he possesses some special skills, such as provoking and mocking its service objects for no reasons during working hours? If that is the case, he is more suitable for The Daily Show but the banking industry.

To Jamie Dimon, your bank security guards are supposed to help and protect your customers, not mock and insult them. If parents and schools don't teach them well enough, then at least Chase Bank the employer here, should give them the necessary training, the JP Morgan Chase’s code of conduct is not a useless fake decoration. Maybe in the end nothing will change, and everyone will pretend nothing happened. After all, in the eyes of some people, customers are not as important as they claim. However, I received an email stating that we made 2 payments from each one of our accounts. I was very confused! I only made one payment that was processed through my husband's account. The bank tried to process two payments.

The supervisor from Chase called my bank to confirm I did not authorize any payment. Furthermore, my bank confirmed that I did not authorize Chase to take anything out of my account. The authorizing was for my husband's account and our bank confirmed that amount to Chase. My account number is on file under our mortgage loan as well. However, we only use my husband's account for the payments. I am not happy and wasn't happy when our mortgage loan was sold to Chase Bank. They've really gone downhill in the last 10-15 years. The "additional" security they say is required by changes in the law is a flat out lie. It's added inconvenience for you to help cover their own butts and or make things better or easier for them at your expense. I initially opened accounts with Chase since I traveled a lot and they had the most ATMs in the US. That's no longer an issue you can usually use any ATM and pay up to a few dollar fee for various transactions. The customer service has gone downhill both at the branches and if you call in.

That is, if you call in and get through to someone after going through a gauntlet of questions and verifications. Even the credit cards I've had for a long time, they've slowly been increasing the interest rate, when I ask them why they say that I don't use them enough and I pay them off each month. It's one joke after another. As Chase has become the biggest bank in the world they also became the bank with the most problems for customers. Do yourself a favor and take ALL your banking needs elsewhere.

But after receiving the card and reviewing the terms, I discovered there was no 0% APR at all—instead, my interest rate was a shocking 21.74%. This feels like a bait-and-switch tactic. They promote 0% interest to attract customers, then lock you in with a high APR once you’ve signed up. For such a large, reputable bank, this kind of misleading practice is unacceptable. Chase comes across as deceptive and untrustworthy. I strongly recommend avoiding them if you don’t want to be misled or stuck with an outrageous rate.

I counted them on the Chase counter, in front of the teller Dena, before I hand them to the her. It was 700$, and the area I counted the cash was a right ankle that Chase camera on the ceiling would capture clearly. Cashbox #07, Session #16, Transaction #34.

After I hand the 700$ to teller Dena, I looked down to my wallet because I needed to put back my debit card. Then I heard her saying it's only 660$. In between her have my cash and the cash goes on the counting machine, I lost eye contact of the money about 10 seconds. I immediately ask my money back and count again. At this time, it's too late, only 660$ left. Even I lost eye contact for that time, but the camera on ceiling capture everything.

The deposit amount still shows 700$ now in my account because I needed to deposit 700$ so it's enough to pay credit card bills, so I pulled money Again from my wallet which was 40$ to make it become 700$ again. The camera would also capture me pulled money the 2nd time from wallet. I know 40$ is not a very big amount, but if this happens as a pattern on different customers too, together could be a big amount. Everything was captured on the camera including I was counting the 700$ on the counter at the very beginning, the evidence is there. I hope Chase can investigate on this.

The bank's policy on large check deposits is arguably criminal. I deposited a 6 figure check (my portion of an asset sale) from my business partner on 8/8 (Friday) and they placed a 7 business day hold on the deposit. This has happened before but I’ve always called and had them verify with issuing bank and release the hold thereafter. Problem is that issuing bank no longer verifies to “third parties”. Issuing bank did however send a snapshot of transaction clearly showing the check was paid on 8/11 (following Monday). Chase refuses to accept that as verification and has advised that the hold was placed as the transaction was “uncommon” for my account. They act like they don’t really know whether or not they actually have the funds. Truth is they are using my money for an unacceptable period.

I understand and have absolutely no problem with a reasonable hold on a large check deposit but 7 business days (10 calendar) and 6 business days after the check has verifiably been cleared is an absolute travesty. This is also after 4 calls to their “hold department” and 1 to a local branch. The branch manager, BTW, was cordial, professional and tried diligently to assist, however she was clearly handcuffed by bank policy and overridden after reaching out to the “hold team” once again on my behalf. My funds are scheduled to be available on 8/19. I realize Chase isn’t making a ton of money off my $115k for 5 or 6 days, but multiply that times the other throngs of customers being arbitrarily treated similarly and it adds up.

I also provided proof of my residency (recent utility bills in my name) and proof of banking with WELLS FARGO. The bank agent, definitely not an American, perhaps a U,S, citizen and a racist and ill-educated in my opinion, made clear emphasis on denying and preventing me from service as opposed to seeing how I may be serviced or helped. She was so adamant in me not being a patron. To Whom It May Concern Chase Bank – Customer Relations. Subject: Denied Access to Funds During Medical Emergency – July 28, 2022. I am writing to share a troubling experience that occurred at your branch located at 4843 N Kedzie Avenue, Chicago, on the morning of July 28, 2022. That day, I was preparing to bring my wife to Swedish Covenant Hospital’s emergency room due to severe pain and limited mobility. Before heading there, I stopped at your branch to withdraw $300 in cash to cover immediate expenses. The ATM did not allow the withdrawal, so I went inside to request assistance.

I approached a bank employee seated at one of the customer service cubicles. I explained to a bank employee that my wife was in our car outside, unable to walk due to her condition. From where he was seated, the car was clearly visible, approximately 100 to 120 feet away. I asked if he could step outside to verify her identity so I could access our funds. He refused, stating Bank Policy and she needed to come inside. I repeated that she was in pain and could barely walk, but he again declined to help.

I left the bank feeling shocked and disturbed by the lack of compassion and flexibility shown during a clear medical emergency. My wife was admitted to Swedish Covenant’s emergency ward for approximately 10 hours and later transferred by ambulance to Skokie Hospital for orthopedic surgery. She remained hospitalized until August 2, 2022.

We had approximately $700 in our account at the time. I was not asking for a loan or special treatment—just access to our own funds to manage a crisis. I’ve asked nurses, doctors, EMT personnel, and community members what I could have done differently. All responded with sympathy and disbelief that we were denied help. So, I ask now, respectfully and without bitterness: Is there truly no policy or discretion available for situations like this—where a customer is in medical distress and simply needs access to their own money? I share this not to seek an apology, but to raise a question that deserves reflection. Emergencies don’t follow protocol, and sometimes compassion must guide policy.

    Sincerely,

    Enrique**

Within the last year, Chase has really failed at conducting large business transactions so much that I am looking for another bank to move my business and personal accounts too. Back in October, I had to transfer $12,000 for my commercial lease for deposits and first month's rent, and all I got was a full day panic attack. I started out my day physically going into my Chase bank to fill out paperwork to initiate a wire transfer, which the teller told me was the best way to get the money over. Went though all identification process and sent the transfer then went into work.

At noon I got a phone call to verify the transfer, and then an hour or two later the funds were returned to my account less $50 of it. When I called, they said there was a fraud alert put on the wire transfer that I was charged a nonrefundable $50 for, and then I had to rush to the bank before they closed to get a cashier's check to physically take to the leasing agent to secure our commercial space. By the time I could break free and get to the bank, it was 4:55pm. The representative at the beginning of the day should have notified me that Chase is not capable of processing large wire transfers, and I would have just gone with a cashier's check in the first place at 9am.

More recently, I deposited a check of $7,700 that was for a contractor for a roof. Instead of depositing the funds in 2 days like the Chase teller told me, they made a decision to place a 10 day hold on the check without informing me. I called on the day it was supposed to be available at 7:30am and ended up having to call 3 more times throughout the day and go into a branch location in person at 4:45pm. Chase called the person who wrote the check to confirm it was legit, and that got completed, and then they went through all these fraud channels that got denied by the system. By the end of the day sorry was the only answer to why the funds had to be held for the full 10 days to get approval to be deposited.

In the mean time I have pissed off contractors who want to get paid that I have to turn around and apologize to because Chase needs my money more than me. Chase also assessed 5 overdraft fees in that account while they were "holding" the funds because none of the funds from the check were available immediately like all other deposits on the planet. Even the teller told me that $275 of it would be available immediately. Very convenient business operations. Once again, the teller should have informed me that it would be better to withdraw cash and deposit that instead of a check.

Ultimately, Chase has difficulty processing large transactions for small businesses. I've not had the same issue with my personal account as I don't remember having any issues depositing $5-9,000 in there at a time. I just don't think Chase is really set up for business transactions, and everything on their back end is handled by AI and through the system. The employees don't even have any manual override control. All they can do is apologize to customers that the computers determine what looks fraudulent or not, and the employees can't do anything about it. I just randomly got chosen twice this year for fraud. I no longer want to bank with a bank who treats me like a criminal when I'm just trying to get people paid.

As an ** woman, I cannot help but feel that my case was not taken seriously, and that bias may have influenced the outcome. This experience has shaken my trust in Chase. I am so disappointed that I chose this bank to run my business account... I’m not sure where to begin. Simple transactions like writing a check to a vendor if they do not like the check they will just cancel it and NEVER call you or notify you. This is embarrassing because you have to look into your account and wait on the phone for hours and go through so many checks and balances Just for them to tell you “well sorry I know you wanted to issue a check but we’re not going to send this specific vendor a check” and they never give you a reason.

It gets worse.. so I gravitate away from hand written checks because Chase doesn’t like checks…. I then try to send an “ACH payment” to a vendor so that I can get labor and employees on a project so that I can run my business… They promised to send the payment within one day… They then decide “well we’re not gonna send this payment either and we’re NOT going to notify you and tell you that we’re not going to send the payment… You’re going to have to log into your account and call us and go through so many hoops to figure out why we decided not to send this ACH payment to your vendor… and then you have to wait two or three more days” before they’ll send that money to your vendor.. if they send it at all..

And on top of it, they charge you a fee for the service that they promised to provide within one day and it’s more like four or five days.. Try to pull cash same thing they want to know why even if it’s your money well they don’t like that you’re taking cash.. It’s almost like they’re holding your money hostage. It’s so embarrassing where you have hundreds of thousands of dollars in a Chase account and you’re trying to pay a vendor of measly 10 grand and they refuse to send it..

This is absolutely the worst banking experience I’ve ever had in my entire life. It’s so embarrassing to try to run a legitimate business… With a bank that does not know how to do simple things like “banking transactions”… Every other bank contacts you first to confirm that you wrote a check or are trying to send a wire, etc. etc. before they cancel a transaction.. they text you , they email you.. they call you .. Chase does none of these things!!! NONE NONE NONE… If you want to run a reputable business, stay very far away from this bank.. To be absolutely clear this is: JP MORGAN CHASE BANK NA .. I go could give you zero stars I would.. Thank me later. Avoid this bank at all costs.

05.21.25 I was depositing money at the Chase Bank, Castleton, Branch 000867. I was shorthanded $1000 while depositing $7000. Upon reaching the counter. I proceeded to physically hand the teller $4,000 (40x$100 bills) while also verbally communicating that it was $4,000. Then I handed her $1,000 (10x $100 bills) and verbally communicated that it was $1,000. Lastly, I handed her $2,000 (mix of $50, $20, $10 notes) also verbally communicating that it was $2,000 in various notes.

The cashier never physically counted the cash I handed her, only used the money counting machine but never communicated to me the total. The teller counted each increment individually; I could not see the total displayed anywhere At this point there was zero communication that the increments were different than what I handed her and communicated to her. She told me to look at the pin pad for the total and press the green button while she put the money into the large money counter. The screen displayed $6,000.

I immediately told her that was not the correct amount that I gave her. She said that the money was already in the machine, and she could not take it out to recount it in front of me. So one amount was put on the counter, but "magically" different one was under the counter. I asked the manager to recount money, but they only performed an audit of the machine. I requested to check the cameras to see where the error occurred but was informed that can't be done. The lack of professionalism, transparency, and honest business practices is shocking in this case.

Chase denied my application and listed the reason as 'not holding on to current card long enough'.

I called to find out exactly what that meant; call was answered by someone who could barely speak English and could only read a script. After 4 transfers to get someone who spoke English (and being hung up on twice), I finally reached someone who seemed more comfortable with the English language. Could not give me an explanation as to why a customer of over 10 years didn't have the card long enough to qualify for a different card. Best they could do was re-submit the application and hope for a better outcome.

I asked for someone at Chase to give me a call to discuss the situation - all I got was 'yes, maybe someone will contact you.' Have applied for and received another card - from a different company - to use for travel. Will cancel my accounts with Chase and no longer do business with them. BTW, I receive almost weekly offers from Chase for various credit cards - either through the mail or email. I will block them.

I sent them the link to refer a friend to apply for a credit card and neither were able to get a reply on whether or not their applications for a card were approved. When they went into the branch, they were told the approval was pending and they should contact customer service.

When they contact customer service, they were both told they were approved and should receive their cards in the mail. When I realized I was never credited for the referral, I messaged and called Chase. I provided both new members' information and was told it would be investigated. I was later advised by Chase that because the new members did not apply through the refer a friend link, I did not qualify for the $100 credit. I explained the issue with the link, like I had done before. I still did not receive the credit after going round and round with customer service. The $100 credit was not the issue but it was the way Chase seem to discredit what happened, even though they could clearly see both new members had recently applied and were approved for the credit cards. I have not referred anyone else to Chase after that incident.

I can't give more than one star because the Chase Fraud department is full of fraudsters themselves. I didn't feel my checking accounts were safe at Chase anymore and I had to pull them out and go elsewhere. They just treat you like you're a criminal and don't do thorough investigations. I guess they feel that's better for their bottom line. I have spoken to other customers who have had similar experiences. I can't speak for any other banking institutions right now but I know I can't work with this one.

I have been banking with Chase for many many years. This latest problem just puzzles and angers me.... I used online Bill Pay, when using bill pay the system picks up the account to be paid after entering name and address. The last company I paid said they never received my payments (2) for they do not even accept electronic payments. My communication with Chase has been so frustrating, I have asked to find my money and they are pretty much saying there is nothing they can do... so they can't find out where the payments went?? How can their system (Chase) say the company accepts electronic payment when they don't? Warning to others about using Chase bill pay.

Heartbreaking Experience During a Time of Loss. In March 2025, I lost my beloved mother after a short illness. During one of the most difficult times of my life, I was forced to deal with the Chase Bank Pine Hills branch at 801 Deauville Dr, Orlando, FL. What should have been a straightforward process, supported by compassion and professionalism, turned into an incredibly distressing ordeal for both me and my brother—who were the named beneficiaries on her account.

Despite providing all the necessary legal documents, including the death certificate, Chase (particularly Ms. **) refused to issue checks directly to the funeral home and cemetery, claiming it was against their policy and the law—even though we were the rightful beneficiaries making the request.

This unnecessary obstacle delayed our ability to lay our mother to rest by two whole weeks, which was not only emotionally devastating but financially burdensome, especially as we were traveling from the Bahamas each time. The funeral home and cemetery staff were shocked by how we were treated. We were told checks could only be made out to us personally, and to make matters worse, they couldn’t even be cashed at the same bank that issued them. What was promised to be a one-hour process dragged into days of painful back-and-forth. In fact, the first check was only finally issued one day before the scheduled service. It honestly felt like Chase Bank wasn’t just mishandling our mother’s account—they were completely disregarding our grief, and with no sense of urgency or humanity.

The lack of sympathy and the sheer incompetence shown during this time was appalling. I thank God I will never have to do business with Chase again. The emotional damage and trauma from how they treated me and my family will never be forgotten. Trust and compassion matter—especially in moments of loss—and Chase showed neither. Rest assured, this matter is far from over.

I recently received a message from Chase Bank online system stating they refused of my request to recover my lost funds from a scam. I am severely disappointed and saddened of the manner Chase chose to handle my case, and to so quickly dismiss it when there was no security or safety in place for me. I am again, dismayed that Chase doesn't have the decency to call and further discuss the details of my encounter, or even mail me a letter. To elaborate my case; On the morning of 03/25/2025 received a call from ** (Harrison County Sheriff's Office) stating he was Lieutenant ** with the Harrison County Sheriff's Department. He said a Jury Summons was mailed to me in January, and that since I failed to appear for my Jury Duty, two separate warrants had been issued to me for Failure to Appear and Contempt of Court for my arrest.

Lieutenant ** emailed me a copy of my arrest warrant, and instructed me that each offense carried a $5,500 cash fine. He gave me the option to remain on the telephone line with him and pay the fines that day with the understanding that was under a gag-order, and failure to comply, disconnect our line of communication, or mention this to anyone, would breach my gag-order, and result in additional fines and/or arrest. I complied with Lieutenant ** orders, drove to my Chase Bank to withdraw the necessary $11,000.00 in fines, and made the requested deposits into an ATM account as instructed. Meanwhile, our telephone line disconnected, Lieutenant ** called me back and stated since I breached our line of communication, it carried another $5000.00 fine.

I explained that I didn't have that amount of cash, and would not be able to attempt and withdraw any additional funds from my Bank until the next morning. He reminded me that I was still under a gag order, asked that I send him $1000.00 to his personal Cash-App digital wallet to avoid arrest as a holding deposit for the additional fine of breaching our line of communication, stay in a hotel for the night, and we would address the situation in the morning when I could return to my Banking Institution. I stayed the night in a local hotel, did not speak with anyone regarding this situation, while having Lieutenant ** remaining on my phone line the entire night, telling me he had pinged my phone and it was being bugged by security and monitored for other calls and messages. First thing the following morning I returned to my bank, where I was later met by Corporal ** with the Harrison County Sheriff's office, and my husband to learn that there was a missing person multi state BOLO out for me, and informed me that I was a victim of an elaborate scam.

I have been a loyal customer of Chase Bank for over 50 years (since I was a teenager), and before Chase was "Bank One". I was obviously nervous, upset, shaking, and had been crying when I went into the Chase Banking establishment to withdraw these funds, yet neither teller nor security seemed to ask any questions or request a "safe word" from me. This entire experience has been very traumatic, and will take much time for me to recover. Given Chase's decision and lack of concern, I have decided to close my Chase account and take my banking to a different Banking Institution that has more empathy for their customers, their safety, and appreciates the loyal years of service given to them before so quickly judging.

Chase - the bank where representatives give you the runaround leaving you chasing for help. (FYI I was a forced transfer to Chase after JPMorgan bought First Republic.) Chase bank "mislabeled" my business account as a commercial account. A commercial account cannot be accessed by phone support or retail banking, leaving me with no access to the account and my funds. The advice I was given by Chase was to withdraw all the funds and open a new bank somewhere else.

I called to discuss a personal account. After 10min of explaining that I did not have ATM access and my card did not work, I was told that I am a "private client." Sounds like I might get special service - how nice, right? The representative gave me another number to call to get help. I called the new number and the same person I spoke with before answered. She was embarrassed and noted that she was answering all calls. She escalated and went out of her way to get me help because of the obvious runaround. I could list a dozen examples of the Chase runaround. Obviously I need to change banks but business accounts are always challenging to shift over and even more so when Chase blocks activity.

I usually avoid going into banks to talk to tellers because I am a very busy person so if I can handle my business through the outside ATM that works for me. I was in a big hurry today and so I wanted to talk to somebody at Chase Bank about some potential fraud. I went to one bank and they said that I had to wait 20 minutes so I left and I went to another Chase branch near my home. They told me I had to wait 10 minutes. I was a bit frustrated so I told one of the ladies who greeted me That I would close my account if I couldn’t speak with someone, they said all the sit down bankers were busy in meetings.

If it hadn’t been maybe some potential fraud, I wouldn’t have been so impatient. So ** a branch manager and vice president at the Gainesville branch 5885 SW. 75th St. so he came out and we talked. He sort of addressed my problem, but I wanted him to look at this ongoing new way that fraud people are fraudulently accessing people’s accounts so I showed him an article in AARP magazine, which was a very short article maybe two paragraphs explaining how the criminals will access your account by declining a transaction and then once they get your card number they come back later to hit your account with a charge. This happened to me with PayPal so I was a bit concerned about this.

I have a substantial amount of money in that particular branch so it seems like Joel was trying to rush me and not satisfying me by at least going into detail or at least reading the ad so that I would be sort of satisfied. So then on the way out the door of his office he started talking to me like I was a little child. I’m 70 years old. He started telling me more or less I should be more patient so I felt offended by that comment.. I wouldn’t of closed my account if he hadn’t made that comment I thought customers were always right, especially in reasonable situations.

I think he might’ve been offended by me because in the past when I open that account, I was well dressed because I am a priest and so I always dress nicely to represent the Lord, but I understand that when you’re opening an account they’re really going to be friendly but if you have some problems like I had, he was impatient so my only concern now is hopefully they train this guy in customer satisfaction, and maybe they should hire more people at that branch. So when I closed my account, my check and savings account the lady who waited on me to close that account was very professional and nice her name was **, a very nice person and professional.
