American Advisors Group (AAG) Reviews

The AAG loan officer whose name is Mike has been great. This other person they fixed on me is driving me insane. Somebody could have informed us that this is more trouble than taking a loan out from the bank. I still feel comfortable working with Mike. It's just I don't know where this other person came from and he wants to know everything about me from the day I was born and I said, "It was easier to take a loan out from the bank than it is to be doing this, so far."

The rep is very good. He doesn't hesitate to tell you what he needs and why he needs it. The thing that aggravates me is I paid my house payments on time, yet they want me to go back and show receipts for 24 months. I don't have them. I clean my stuff out every year. I'm going back and trying to see which ones I can find.

I liked the simplicity of the process. From day one, I knew what the fees would be in the neighborhood of. Just the standard appraisal fees. American Advisors Group gave me a list and I called all the numbers. And I found one that offered 50% off of the appraisal fees. So, they gave me all the information that I would have needed to make a decision without me even asking. It was laid out.

American Advisors Group is reputable and I like Tom Selleck. I was surprised and relieved that it's not the same as it used to be. Brett answered all my questions, canceled all my fears. We're almost done. We signed the notary papers today. If you can, do it.

So far, my experience with AAG has been pretty good.

The process was very complicated because we're not used to refinancing. But the rep we worked with, Kay, was very patient. He knew exactly what he was talking about and he was very articulate. He tried very hard to explain to me what it meant to have a reverse mortgage. I was appreciative of that. He explained things over and over again because I kept asking the same questions. That was very good. If it had been somebody a little more abrupt, I would have gone to the next company.

AAG's reps were friendly. They answered my questions and seemed to get things done. It was good to find out some stuff about the reverse mortgage through the counseling that they gave and it gave you different options.

So far, my experience with AAG has been excellent. They've been so helpful and just moving the process along in a timely manner. The rep kept me informed of the process and explained all the interest rates to me in simplistic terms. He kept me posted on things that were happening or to be expected to come and papers to be signed.

The rep I worked with was nice. She called me yesterday. She said I need to get to her a copy of my driver's license, Social Security card, home insurance declaration, mortgage statement and bank statement. I told her I would.

I had a good experience with AAG. They were professional. They don't try to force you to do anything. They just give you everything and tell you how it is.

I've been having a good experience with American Advisors Group. The rep has been very courteous, informative, and professional.

The AAG agent I worked with was very good. He explained everything and he returned calls quickly. He was responsible. I would recommend them.

AAG wanted me to do all kinds of stuff and send them all kinds of papers, Social Security information, and the house information, and whether or not it had insurance. There was a good list, and I thought, "Well, maybe this is the right person." Frank, the rep, was just gonna sit there at the desk and do nothing while I do all the work. That makes him pretty darn smart, so I stayed with him. Overall, AAG treated me very decently as an adult. There's been a bit of humor in there. I'm very satisfied with the experience.

The rep, Jay, gets back to me really fast, and we're almost done with process. We just need an appraisal. Everything's been good, and I'd recommend American Advisors Group.

The communication with AAG has been good and I'm supposed to get the guy to come over today to do an inspection.

They were good. I liked everything they did. Their rep treated me like I was a person and listened to what I had to say. Every question I had, they answered and just pretty much the way I wanted to hear.

Suzy is my rep from AAG and she is very nice and lots of fun to talk to. But AAG is a greedy company. Give me the money first and then you get this. When I had to have a talk with a woman, she was explaining to me everything that I'm gonna be going through. She then said I was gonna have to pay for someone to come out and look over the house and make sure that it's what we say it is. I'm frustrated. I'm at the end of my rope here and they are gonna piss me off. They called me this morning telling me that I have to send them my husband's death certificate. But the house is not in his name and he's got nothing to do with it. The rep said, "Three papers and notary is gonna come."

I called the number and AAG got back with me right away. I told them what I wanted and they worked on it. I’m almost done with the program. AAG is very easy to work with.

The loan counselor went step-by-step with me and explained to me how the process works. I didn't know anything about it but he answered all my questions. He helped me understand what I was getting into and that it was unlike anything that I already had done before. He told me about another representative that will be carrying me because he can't do everything. I felt a little let down because he won't be firsthand carrying me on now.

The first thing we did was counseling and the lady that I dealt with was very helpful. The appraiser came last Wednesday, and the representative that I've been working with at AAG called me yesterday and said that they were still waiting on him to turn in the appraisal, and then we'd go from there. But so far, everything's been great.

American Advisors Group's rep was willing to go step by step and explain, taking in consideration that this was all new information for me. He encouraged me to ask questions, and to phone if I thought of anything else, and just kept in touch with me.

Anthony, the rep from AAG, was great and the turnaround time was good. It wasn’t very long.

The experience with AAG has been good and they are very nice people. The communication with the rep was immediate. He was efficient, knowledgeable, helpful, and there if I need him for any silly question.

The whole experience with AAG was fantastic. Our representative, Gina, was absolutely fantastic. The rate could have been a little bit lower, but it was pretty much what I would expect.

We're very happy with AAG's service and what's going on. Their rep, Jared, was extremely accommodating, very informative and very patient. Everything went very easily. I was very pleased with the follow-up and the professionalism.

AAG is a very reputable company. I had applied for a reverse mortgage and was almost ready to close it with another company when they suddenly ceased doing origination loans. They're just going to service loans. I had all of this stuff done and had to go back to the drawing table, which wound me up with AAG. However, the guy that I work with at AAG isn't very responsive. I asked him a couple days ago to call me but he hasn't. I left a message on his voicemail as to why I want to have the call but still haven't heard from him.

The rep I worked with at AAG was good. Some of the stuff, Rob had explained to me, but it made some other things clearer.

The reps were excellent. They explained everything well, which made me understand what was going to happen. We did the counseling online, and the lady was very nice. She explained everything very well too. We've received 30 phone calls from AAG the last month. It was for different things that we had to send in. Some of it, we didn't have and we had to get copies of. We got all that done finally, and the appraiser has been here. A date for the closing has been set.

Jason is awesome. He is smart. He is responsive. He kept us in the loop. There was no such thing as a stupid question. He was delightful and everything went so smoothly. I can't say enough about him. The application process with AAG was painless. They had a mobile notary come to my home for closing. I highly recommend AAG and particularly, Jason.

AAG has been wonderful and everything went very smoothly with them. It took a month to finish the process with them and that was because of the holidays. But I'm sure it wouldn't have taken that long if it hadn't been for the holidays. Also, our loan officer answered. Bless her heart, she went home for the holidays, and she said she still had her phone with her. So, if I had any questions, I just texted her and she answered. Other than that, the rate could have been lower but it was fine and if working with them is something that would help anyone, I would highly recommend them.

I checked a few online reviews and Better Business reviews, and American Advisors seemed like they were rated very favorably. The person that contacted me was very helpful in answering any of my questions that I had and went into details about what the process was and explained the whole thing to me satisfactorily, so it made sense to try to do it.

The communication from AAG has been good. The application process was pretty smooth and they would do everything through the computers.

I looked into different companies that offered reverse mortgages. I saw an article that listed AAG as the top one that offered them in the nation. I wanted someone trustworthy and reliable, and a few articles seemed to indicate that they were okay. Then, they made a complicated process very simple for me.

Try American Advisors Group and you might like it because of the benefit that it offers. They went over everything that might have benefited me in assuming a reverse mortgage and all the benefits of having a reverse mortgage. I'm well satisfied with the information that I've gotten. The money goes back into my pocket, when I look at it. So, it has its advantages.

My mom is 80 years old and I'm trying to renovate some stuff to make it easier for her to get around the house. The house needs a little work. I did a reverse mortgage with AAG and Wayne is my loan officer. The appraisal has been done. I talked to Wayne yesterday and he said that they just got the appraisal back and that he was waiting to review all this. The appraisal office told me they had some work that needed to be done. On the whole, communication has been good. But things are taking a long time. It's been about a month. Wayne told us that it would probably be finished and we'll have the check before Christmas.

I spoke with a rep and his speech was phenomenal over the telephone. I never had to say, "What or huh? Can you do that again?" He was the best person I've ever spoken to about things. He was loud, clear, and very understandable. I've got his cellphone number so I can text him. He always gets back to me within 24 hours. I'm just tickled to death with AAG.

My house is paid off and I have nobody to leave it to. I saw AAG on television regarding reverse mortgages. I figured I would use some of that equity to make some improvements to the house. Suzy was my rep and she has been extremely helpful in explaining things. She sent documents for me to read through. I was a contract negotiator before I retired so I can get past the mundaneness of a contract and how it works. Suzy has been very informative. I know exactly what I'm getting into and I have no qualms about it at this point.

I'm so very pleased with AAG. My rep was fantastic. I've never worked with anybody so wise and knowledgeable. She goes far beyond. Our home was appraised at 650, and HUD wanted another appraisal. I called her and asked her about it, and she said, "Yeah, sometimes HUD wants another appraisal. There's nothing to worry about, because your home is certainly beautiful, and the appraisal that came back was glowing. I'll see if I can either get it reversed or something." She was like that through the whole thing. She helped us and answered all of the questions we had very well.

Everything seemed to be really easy. I had no problems with Wayne, the guy I'm dealing with. I've been able to get in touch with him every time I've called. When I talked to him last week, he said everything was in order, and they had to go to underwriting. As soon as underwriting was done, they would contact me.

American Advisors would do some testing things with me so I know approximately what the process consists of. My rep helped me to sign a lot of paperwork and as she went along, she explained what the paper meant. She gave me some paperwork, too.

It seemed like AAG was more on the ball. My rep has been very good. He calls. He emails. We get information, and he answers questions. I was impressed with his professionalism and the way he conducted himself on the phone. He’s been very helpful.

I talked to several companies and American Advisors Group seemed the best people to go with. The guy I'm working with right now, Edward, made it pretty easy for me. He knew what he was talking about. He knew what to do with me and how to go about everything.

I talked to Wayne every once in a while. He’s a nice guy. The process with AAG is going pretty well right now, so I'm satisfied.

Getting a reverse mortgage from AAG would work out great for me since I am a senior citizen and can't work. So far, so good with their getting in touch with me and getting the ball rolling. They weren't really demanding about things and paperwork. As far as paperwork goes, I needed proof of homeowner's insurance and a copy of my driver's license. I've only asked a few questions, and they've answered to my satisfaction. My representative is very understanding, and she's willing to try to help me. Overall, AAG is very understanding and they want to be helpful. They like to learn about people.

Jason has been my primary point of contact at AAG. He has been nothing but helpful. We completed the application last Wednesday. So, we’re just waiting for the appraisal to take place. Thanks to Jason for being accessible and helpful throughout the entire process.

We have been satisfied with AAG and we're now waiting. Their representative is wonderful. She's very patient. She explains everything. We're not really great at computer stuff, but she worked with us all the way through. She has answered our questions. She has always been there when I've called and asked a question. It's been a very pleasant experience.

The reps have been awesome. They follow up and they do what they need to do. Every step of the way, they gave me lots of communication on things they need and why they need them. I would recommend them to the highest.

American Advisors Group was a little deceptive. They shouldn't have ordered the appraisal without the necessary paperwork completed. I had to pay for an appraisal on the house. It was ordered before the necessary paperwork was in order for AAG. So, after it was all said and done, I had to pay for the appraisal, and they came back at me wanting paperwork that I was unable to provide. So, I wasn't impressed. And I was out over $800. They haven't answered my questions. And I want a refund.

AAG did a decent job .Gina, who is the primary person I deal with, and the other people that I've dealt with that have to do with the firm have been helpful. There have been a couple of mistakes made, but that's okay. They sent me a supervisor when I asked for one. It has been a good experience.

It didn't go fine in the beginning because the first attorney didn't do a good job. He left quietly. But the new attorney is a wonderful person. She's a nice lady.

When Andrew heard that my mother was ill, he backed off and sent me one email, checking in, unlike the other company that bugged me. He was a little slow on the uptake. He originally was the one that talked to me on the phone and disappeared. I called AAG's main line and said if they couldn't talk to me, I would go someplace else. They were surprised that somebody hasn't followed through. But they got Andrew on the phone and he got everything going. The application was more involved than I thought it would. I'd like to know what comes next. They were talking about the loan being approved. I thought it was just an automatic go ahead, but it's not. The counselor asked questions, listened to me, was very forthcoming, let me know exactly what was going on, and what will go on, except for all the paperwork I had to have. But I'm handling it.

I was very satisfied with how American Advisors Group handled it.

I had applied with American Advisors Group, and I was going through the process but I got lost in the system. I'm frustrated because the rep failed to service me. If AAG can't service me, I'd get a local bank here to do it. I need to get this thing done because I wanted to finish my project that I have going on.

Working with American Advisors Group has been good and I don’t have any problems with what went on. We just signed papers this morning.

AAG was very forthcoming, professional, and informative. They give the correct information and make sure that the potential candidate understands they dot their I's and cross their T's. They were really quite thorough and there was very clear information presented in a way that you can understand it. AAG is a caring company and all the agents have a good customer service personality.

A reverse mortgage is something that we can use at our age and it makes sense. I got to speak with AAG and they were good. I spent 33 years as a financial advisor and I understand mortgages. My place is classified as a condominium and when we got to the appraisal part, that was fine. That's where they put the ball in my court. Now I have to get in touch with HUD to get condominium approval. They no longer have a group at AAG that does this. That is very cumbersome. I'm having to deal with the government to get all this stuff and that is not easy at all.

My son knew I was thinking about refinancing and he told me about AAG. Their rep was she was great and very informative. If I called her and she wasn't in her office, she called me back and answered all my questions. Everybody’s been just really helpful.

The reps at AAG that are helping me are doing good. They’re walking me and my daughter-in-law through the reverse mortgage. Brad is the one walking me through it and if I don't know anything, he would tell me the situation and this and that. So far, everything looks good and I'm happy with them.

I wanted to borrow some money and I've never borrowed money before on my house. My house was paid for, so I thought it’s quick money. The AAG rep told me I could borrow the money. I had time and then don't worry about paying at a later date. He was upfront, very workable, until we got down to the nitty-gritty. That's where I'm at a standstill with him because he didn't tell me they were putting money aside for me.

I've worked with Arlene and she is marvelous. She has been very cool, calm, and collected, because she's aware this is the first time I've done anything like this. She explained everything. She told me who to call for my counseling. And the man I spoke to did an excellent job in explaining everything on my reverse mortgage. I tried to help Arlene get all the papers that she needed. From her, I went to Elsie and she also has been very excellent. They have been very helpful in explaining, because there are certain things in the documents I don't understand, and they have no problem in explaining everything to me. My daughter is very pleased with how Arlene and Elsie have taken care of me. I gave her Arlene's phone number if somebody needs help.

The rep I worked with was very good. The counseling was informative.

AAG's rep explained things really well and she kept me up to date on everything. But I had a hard time finding the paperwork they needed. I'm paraplegic and I can't get up. So it was hard for me to look through the desk out there and find documents. I had people down here looking for stuff but it was making more of a fiasco than they were finding. I'm also not the best bookkeeper in the world. But she was patient with me until I finally found everything. Also, I haven’t gotten the deeds yet. They said that I was supposed to get it and I've been waiting on that for a couple of months now. But other than that, everything seems to be going good.

So far, the experience with them has been good. They are able to work with me better than the other mortgage provider. We were able to do everything online, fill out all the applications and communicate through email. That has worked really well. I recommend AAG.

The rep was helpful and understood what I was trying to do, and found out that I qualified. The process was great and the reps were awesome. I had no problem all through the process of the counseling, and getting it over to different sections and different people to go to the next step. If you qualify, you should go for AAG.

They fully explained the program. I understood what to expect completely. Their rep Ameer was informative and willing to communicate. I was impressed by his commitment to make sure that I was educated on what a reverse mortgage loan is. But I'm incredibly disappointed in their underwriting department. This is not a mortgage loan but they are treating it as if it was one. For the product that is being advertised, I find the underwriting department’s attitude and behavior unacceptable.

AAG is good and working with them has been easy. They're open and I'm happy with them. My rep has been honest and I feel comfortable with him.

So far, our experience has been fine. AAG explained all that I needed to know, and they've all showed up. The rep, Will, is very friendly and professional. If I have questions, we had good communication.

It’s been about a month now, and everything's been going all right so far. The rep, Mel, made sure that everybody was in contact with me. They've been very upfront and let me know things as they happen.

The counseling answers a lot of questions. The counselor was really good. He helped me out a lot.

The whole team is great. Elaine is awesome. She explains everything. She is always professional. I was always calling her. I'm a real estate transaction coordinator and I had a lot of questions because I handled things for a broker differently. I was used to things being a certain way. But AAG is different. So Elaine kept having to dial me back a little bit. She kept reminding me that this was different. But she was very good about it. The process took a little bit longer than we all expected only because we're a little rural and getting the appraiser to get the time to get out here, and one that was knowledgeable about the area took a little bit extra time.

AAG was so informative. They were all around great. I'm really pleased with the rate.

AAG was good with me. From start to finish, George was informative and right on the spot. Anytime something needed to get done, he'd get ahold of me and I got back with him. However, there were a couple of times we got caught in-between. I had to send it a couple of times on a few of the documents because it wasn't ever getting through to them or they weren't getting through to me. Also, there was a two-day lapse in my insurance and I got some high-pressure person calling. The gal was ignorant with me about two days of insurance. I don't like to be pressured like that. My insurance company said that they do that all the time. That practice needs to stop.

Every time somebody calls me, they have me state my date of birth in full over the phone and I never know exactly who's calling me. They get my last for the Social. But since they're calling me, they already know my loan number, they can just say, "Can you reiterate your loan number," or mortgage number, and I would give that. That's enough because I'm not big on keep giving out my personal information to somebody that I don't know over the phone. I don't do my business online. A year from now, I could start to borrow more money than I got initially, which is great. But what I wanted to do is I need the booklet or information about how to send money into my account. I still don't have that. Because I don't bank online, I'm still waiting for that information. And I'm not going to go online and open up that line of credit account to find out because I'm not going to use that and I don't want my personal information online.

The gal I worked with at AAG was very helpful and did a great job. The reverse mortgage process went very well and the communication was great too. I got a new report this week so I guess I'll keep getting those every month, which is good because it keeps me up to date on what's going on with my mortgage.

AAG made it clear what the requirements were and the process has been smooth. The rep always returns my call. He lets me know what's going on. He was very helpful and pleasant. Whatever I needed to do, he explained it very clearly, and I was able to get everything that he needed. Some of the documents that I sent did not make it. I had to send a couple of things again. But that was to be expected and everything's been resolved.

The application process at AAG was very tedious. When they sent the notary, it was like she was giving me a book. The same with the other one that they had sent to my house. It was a little bit too much to have to read over. I kept getting confused about stuff that I was reading, where I thought one way and then I thought the next. But the representatives I called, always tried to answer it and clear it up for me. The counselor was also very good. If I had a question, she explained it to me the best way she could. They were all just open to answering my questions no matter how many times I called back. They were fantastic.

My husband and I talked about going with AAG and we thought it was the best thing to do, so we did it. It was kind of a mess, though. Maybe there are new people there and they had the wrong birthdate down for me. They had me 71 years old instead of 86. It's all set now. Our loan officer worked very well. I just think AAG is short on people over there, but they're very good at delivering service. I wasn't dissatisfied, but the goof-ups that happened were not good.

AAG's rep was okay, but I was told that I would have to pay out some cash money, and I didn't have money to pay out. That was the reason for the reverse mortgage. I didn't know there was a closing fee. I sorta changed my mind because I didn't have money to pay out. They said I would have to do any repairs on the house, and I had to pay out a fee just to go through the counseling. My experience was okay until it came down to the cash out money that I had to pay to get the reverse mortgage.

AAG's rep was very helpful and the process was good but it seemed to take too long. Other than that, they are very trustworthy and highly recommend them.

The process with AAG was slow and it took a lot longer than I thought it would. But the rep I worked with was very good and she kept me posted on what was going on. I wanted to do a reverse mortgage on this property and get rid of my mortgage payments. That's pretty much what I accomplished. But I expected to get either hard copy or a soft copy with signed documents and I've never gotten one. Other than that, AAG was very good.

The rep was very helpful. They do the excellent job. It was very informative.

American Advisors Group is the best way to go. It's more convenient. They work with your schedule and not theirs. And they answered the questions in a timely manner. Everything went fine.

American Advisors Group reviewed my financial situation and what I wanted to use it for. And the rep said, "Yeah. You're going down the right path." He has constantly kept me informed of what was going on and where we were in the process. He was very informative and helpful. He went into great detail about what I wanted to do with it and how he would do it and how I could use a reverse mortgage. He was very upfront, friendly and tried to make sure we were comfortable with what we were looking into doing.

AAG's loan officer, Frida, was very well prepared and she helped us along the way. It was very easy to negotiate and she was there when we needed her there. Anything that she couldn't answer, people were available to help. Everything went very smoothly and it was very rewarding experience.

I called AAG and talked to Jonathan. He was so good about explaining the reverse mortgage to me and it made me feel worry-free. My son was very adamant that I do not do it but after we got on a three-way call with Jonathan, he said it was a good thing for me to do. The application process went pretty smoothly. I've done refinance once before and it took forever. The company didn't tell me what they wanted off the bat like AAG did. I'm very pleased that I went with AAG. The people that I worked with were awesome, friendly, and were sincerely interested in doing better for me. And I really appreciate that.

When I first started, I had this gentleman named John. I told him I was doing things with AAG because I needed to fix the floors in my house. He was really good and he told me that within 30 days, I'd have a loan. But I didn't hear from him for about three weeks and all of a sudden, this other guy called me. He said that they couldn't give me any money until I have my house fixed. I told him that I got no money and that was why I was working with them. But he still said that everything has to be fixed before I could sign off. They sent this handyman to fix my house and he butchered it. I got handprints all over my bathroom and my living room, and I got to repaint all my walls. Also, he put half-inch plywood on the floor when the law states you have to have three quarters of an inch. Now, I got to rip all that out and spend more money to fix the house.

We worked with Sean and he was great. We anticipated a long time for the closing to happen and it went real quick. With his help and us stepping up to the plate, it only took about five weeks. The counseling was non-invasive and was just a formal signature. I could see why they have it there. All in all, my wife and I are happy with AAG.

American Advisors Group led me all the way down the garden path through appraisal and everything else, only to, at the very last minute, determine that my home was not FHA compatible because of the deed restrictions on the fact that it's a closed community. People have to be approved. So in order to live in this community, you have to go through an approval process by the board so that you can live there. Apparently, that's not in conjunction with FHA, because this is part of their inclusion deal.

My rep is Jay and he's really good. I really like him a lot. I'm at the point where I'm waiting for the appraisal. Right now, I'm annoyed. I'm looking for some documents that they can't live without and that they needed months ago. I've got everything torn apart in my office here. I'm going through boxes and boxes of documents trying to find something that will work for the underwriter.

My loan officer was good, except that he wanted to do all the closing things on the internet. I'm 77 years old and I'm not real good on the computer. I was gonna try and get him to send somebody over to help me, like the lady who came and did all of our signing. She was a nice lady. I just need somebody that knows what's going on and familiar with their operation that can help me. But Frank was a good guy. He never got upset and I work well with him. Everything's worked out so far.

There was name recognition with AAG. I availed of their services and they're very competent and understanding. I had a situation in my life that was difficult and they were very supportive. They gave me all the information I needed and talked to me about it. I really appreciated that. They did an appraisal yesterday and all the conditions have been met. I'm close to closing. I highly recommend AAG.

My mom and I needed some cash and we decided to do a reverse mortgage together. There's the convenience of it. My plan is to pay every month just to try to keep the interest down on it. But if there's a month when it is tight and you can't, then you're not penalized. We did AAG and they have been very good. They're busy people and sometimes they can't get right back to me, but among the three that I'm dealing with, they're all very responsible and responsive. The rates were reasonably fair.

AAG has been understanding and they're letting me explain what I wanted to explain. They also explained things to me. Things have been pretty good. It's been a couple of weeks now. I had to get all my information together, my salaries, and my Social Security. I emailed all that out and they got back to me and said everything was good. They said they were going ahead with the appraisal. They had to get the appraisal here and that took two weeks. I got the paperwork on the appraisal yesterday in the mail. They just called me today and somebody's gonna come out, fix a couple of things, and we're gonna be on our way.

I contacted AAG and my experience working with them has been very positive. The gentleman who worked with me all the way through has been really nice and he was telling me the truth. Everything, at this point, is falling into place. I'm really satisfied with what's been going on and I hope I never regret any of this. This was a big step for us. We're finishing up and I received the money yesterday. Things are going great such as what's supposed to happen on the date it's supposed to happen. I hope it continues to go that way. It looks like it will.

I liked the sound of the rep's voice and he seemed very knowledgeable and helpful. The process is working smoothly. I finished the counseling and I have all but one of the papers that he needed.

I did a reverse mortgage and the process could be better if everything was over the phone.

Alexander is a great guy. He really knows how to talk to you and answer your questions. He did a great job with everything. He was always there when I needed him.

I have done the application and we've had the house appraised. It's moving along. I didn't counseling but it was helpful.

American Advisors Group has the best pricing and the best service as far as being responsive and answering questions. I talked to the rep several times over the phone. There were quite a few things she needed and I was able to get that to her very quickly. She was able to get it processed very quickly as well. She gave us some direction and a list of who to call for the counseling session with the HUD counselors that we had to go through. We found a good one through her. She also sent us brochures and paperwork that describes all the loan information and how to amortize over time. We’ve done the application, but we hadn't signed the paperwork yet. We're still working on some of the details. But we've been very happy with the experience so far.

I spoke with an agent named Felicia and she was very professional. She answered all my questions clearly and distinctively. She gave me the impression that she knew the business and was no rookie. She was patient and wasn't in a hurry. If family members ask about AAG, I would give them all the information I received from Felicia.

Kyle, my rep from AAG, was very on the ball. I didn't have to wait for answers. He called me back right away. The basic customer service was great. So far, he's been very helpful and made it easy on me. I needed to send some documents to him. So, instead of doing it by mail, I took pictures, and then I just sent him the information that he needed. It was easy. My counselor was very nice and informative. I had questions, and she answered them. Everything went well. She asked questions, too. I answered them correctly and I got my certificate. It's hard when you don't see people face-to-face and you're kind of guessing that they're thinking straight. At 74, you never know how people's minds work. So, she had to make sure that I was with it and knew what I was talking about. Overall, I haven't been disappointed in anything that's gone on with AAG and if I have questions, I get answers.

The rep was personal and on top of things. There's just a lot of unnecessary paperwork. But it's okay.

Everything has been done, except American Advisors Group needs to do the appraisal for the house. The communication is very good. We've worked with Jill quite a bit. She's excellent. Easy to get along with. And she explained everything in detail when I had questions. She did a good job on that. I had a little trouble with the electric signing document, and they sent me a little video to look at. That helped a lot. That was the one thing that I had some questions about. But that was taken care of.

My process with American Advisors Group has been very seamless. And Gabriel's communication is impeccable. I am able to reach him whenever I needed to speak to him. And he returns my calls very quickly. He's extremely responsible. He stayed late one night in order to get ahold of me before he left on a Friday night to give me some information. I was a mortgage lender for 45 years. I know how important that is. Also, my counselor specifically was succinct, to the point, explained everything, made sure, clarified my understanding of the things that we discussed, because things had changed a bit in the last 20 years. I was very pleased with her counseling. She did a wonderful job.

There were two people I talked to on the phone and one person come to the house. When I had a question, he'd answer it and tell me what it meant. Just so I knew I was doing the right thing. I'm already recommending AAG to my sister.

I’ve been trying to get ahold of my rep because I got a deal in the mail that they need more information. And there are stuff that I was never told about. I have called my rep two days in a row, left messages. It’s urgent, because the notice I got says I have until the 18th to get this information to them. One of them, I cannot get, and American Advisors Group knows this. He said not to worry about it. I may be able to just disregard the whole thing, but I don't know until I talk to him. He would always get back to me before. And this time, not so much. Everything was good up to this point.

The salesperson was very thorough. We have completed the application notarized signing as well as transmission of personal credentials. So far, so good.

I called American Advisors Group and I got a nice guy. I got an even better one and he stuck with me. The person went on vacation and I got the second one. He answered all my dumb questions 13 times, until I finally understood it. I asked the same thing in different ways because this was above my pay grade. And it's scary to do something like this if you don't know what you're doing. And when I had my credit counseling, I was very schooled in it, having a diligent conversation. That went very smoothly.

AAG's rep has been very good. We have communicated plenty of times. She's doing a good job trying to pull this together for me. The counselor gave me two good ideas about how I'm going to take it if AAG approved me for the loan. I'm going to take it at an adjustable rate over a year. So, he gave me very good advice. I was very happy with that. The only concern is that I get approved. I've done everything that I've been asked to do. I've turned over all my records that I've been asked to turn over the date. There has been an inspection of the house.

The process has been painless and very nice. The reps answered all my questions. I would recommend AAG.

I started the process a good month ago. Kelly is my rep and she has been very friendly and nice on the phone. She's a helpful person and she seems to know what she's talking about. She told me that the process was going to be probably 30 to 45 days. They were going to have appraisers come out and I let a week and a half go. Nobody called me so I called Kelly and said nobody has contacted me yet. She gave me a number to call the appraisers and I did. The first appraiser followed up with me and the soonest they could get out is Tuesday.

I’ve been looking at reverse mortgages on and off for several years. This time I put on a pretty expensive roof on my house so I thought about financing that with a reverse mortgage. I did that with AAG and they've been very thorough. I had a little counseling appointment with the credit counseling people and they were wonderful.

Brenda was my loan rep and she was really perfect. She was friendly and helpful. She was also good-mannered, which you hardly get on a lot of these things. She just rubbed me a number one.

I've been happy to work with AAG. Michael was wonderful, patient, congenial, polite and respectful. He explained everything and I needed to hear that stuff.

I really was impressed with the AAG rep I worked with. I had a very pleasant experience.

My loan rep was very upfront about everything. He explained everything and answered all my questions. The counseling portion went fine too. The only thing was I got a letter saying they needed some paperwork but they already had the paperwork. I wish that hadn't happened.

My place has been appraised. They helped me to see what needed to be done and what was okay not to be done. The appraisal was an asset as well as their suggestions as to what to do. So far, every step has been helpful. From the counselor, who was very cooperative and said, "Call me back if you have a question," and made me feel like I was not alone to the agent who assisted me, who called to make sure that everything was okay and what she could do to help.

It's been an excellent experience with AAG. We're still in the process of my obtaining a reverse mortgage. We should close fairly soon. Working with their rep has been very good. I would highly recommend them.

Everybody that I spoke with was great. Matthew was my rep and he is quick on getting back to me. A lot of companies these days don't get back as quickly. Matthew answered questions and was knowledgeable. A lot of this stuff is just hard to get on my end. There's waiting for different paperwork to come in, the power of attorneys to kick in, and finding out state power of attorney. If I need to do this reverse mortgage myself on my home, I would do the same thing and use AAG.

I was involved in an automobile accident in 2020. Unfortunately, it has affected my income as well as my outgo. I was told to try a reverse mortgage so I looked into it and I called AAG. Everything sounded good. I'm working with Barry and he has been very polite. He's been pleasant and up-to-date. He makes sure that I understand what's happening. Sometimes I can't get ahold of him. I know he’s very busy with meetings. On the whole, I'm very pleased with Barry. He seems to be a very nice gentleman.

Everything is going smoothly. The reps seemed very nice. I enjoy working with them. I can call and somebody's there to talk to me and tell me what's going on. I love Jessica. She was so helpful. I like Rene, but he's not as friendly as Jessica was. He took over for her. I'm hoping she never got fired because she was wonderful. He said she's not there anymore. She was there for me. She told me a lot of stuff and I wrote down stuff, and she asked me a bunch of questions and I gave her the right answers. She also sent me my certification. So, I sent her a copy of it. Now they want the original one with my ink signature. That's what Rene said. But now, this Michael is a processor and he's supposed to send me some paperwork and I haven't received it.

The rep has been really super. He seems interested in taking care of you, and if you run into a little problem, he’ll neatly help you take care of it. The counselors did a good job too. I've been real pleased with everybody I've talked to in the process of doing this. Everybody seems like they're right there trying to help you, and I would tell friends to go for AAG.

American Advisors Group sucks. After I didn't receive the papers and found out what was going on, I wasn't comfortable working with them. The rep had me call someone to set up an appointment, and it was gonna cost me $150 before I ever got the paperwork and read it. I was in a tizzy to call them and try to get them to suspend that. I was getting buffaloed and not the right kind of numbers came out. It was nowhere near any kind of fairness. I looked at the reverse mortgage as part of my maintenance repair plan, but more or less, it was like a predatory loan and I stopped.

AAG explained everything to me, telling me what a reverse mortgage is all about and how it worked. It was exactly what I was looking for. I've been working with them for a couple of months, and I have another appraisal to go. The process is really going well, and the loan officer is a really nice lady.

Eileen has been super nice. She is the rep I'm working with, and I felt very comfortable with her. I felt like I was getting the truth. I'd definitely like to give a shout-out to her and AAG in general. The program itself and the process has been good. I have done this through a process where I have had some medical issues, and I was able to work this in. It wasn't something that I had to run out of the house and get. It was fairly easy.

AAG had us talk to a counselor and go through that deal. So we were aware of everything going into it such as the costs and the pros and cons. The loan officer was good. He was thorough and got things done. He didn't dillydally. He was upfront enough that you feel comfortable with working with him. AAG did excellent. They did everything that they said they would do and they spelled everything right out.

AAG seems to have a very good reputation so I selected them. I had to re-send them some stuff but that was okay. The only thing I was a little disappointed in was it took a long time for the appraisers to contact us. They contacted us this morning and they'll be out here Monday. Also, some of the upfront costs are high but I already knew that going into it. AAG required debt counseling and we had to pay for it. That was just an absolute waste of time and it was fairly expensive. I'm not too happy with that. That aside, so far, so good.

We looked into selling the house and moving into a retirement community. But they are much more expensive than what our house payment is. We decided to try the reverse mortgage. AAG was great. Justin was our loan rep and he was really fantastic.

I was looking for a way to pay down some debt and AAG has been helpful. They’ve done very well and they've given us all the guidance we needed. We worked with Edward and he was cooperative with us. I was impressed by his knowledge of the product. He has been very good at following up with us too. Definitely deal with AAG.

I googled reverse mortgages and I clicked on AAG's page to get information. Someone called me and referred me to Giselle. I originally went to our current mortgage holder and they don't offer what I wanted. As the process went through and after I got more information, I decided that we would go with AAG and I've been impressed.

I tried three companies and AAG had the best deal for me. The rep was great. The process has been very smooth so far and I just had the appraisal on the house. I should be pretty close to being done. I would highly recommend AAG.

The rep was very kind and seemed very knowledgeable of what he does. The counselor was very good also.

I'm really pleased with AAG. I like the guy that’s working with me. His name is Steve. I like that they take their time and tell me what's going on. They don’t hide anything. They explain everything.

I like my loan officer very well. He explains everything down to the details.

The AAG rep I'm working with has been very helpful. She was really nice. I enjoyed talking to her. We tried to get my wife’s signature, but it didn't work. So, the girl had to redo everything. We were able to finally get her to sign all the documents that needed to be signed. That was all taken care of. Right now, we're waiting on the appraisal. I've also got to get a couple of things from the bank. One thing on my Social Security information, and one thing on the insurance on our home.

AAG has the best reputation. So far, so good.

The rep that called me was very nice. He explained himself very well when he was telling me how the program worked. I had a very good experience. The whole deal has really been good.

The lady we talked to, Marilyn, explained everything to us in detail and AAG sent me a package explaining everything as well. We’ve gone through the process of application, and I just got some stuff they overnighted to me, explaining everything all over again. I’ve been having this stuff explained to me so many times, I’m inundated. I also knew the procedure before I even applied for it. I had already dug into it pretty deeply. Still, I’m very pleased with the process so far, and Marilyn is excellent. She's been there, explaining everything as deeply as I wanted and always calling to follow up on everything we do. She's very knowledgeable, attentive and answers all my questions. I’m absolutely comfortable with her, and so is my wife.

I'm just starting the process, and the communication has been very good so far. Everything has been explained to me, and most of my questions have been answered. I have the counseling meeting tomorrow, then we’ll go from there.

We're very pleased with Bill, our loan officer. He's been very knowledgeable, helpful and on top of things for us.

AAG's rep answered any questions I had and helped me out with whatever I needed, and he's been good. I went through the counseling session this morning and I'm waiting on a notary who got lost somewhere. They were supposed to be coming yesterday at 2 o'clock. I never heard or saw anything of them. Other than that, my experience has been good.

One person called me and told he was going to to have the counseling today at 12:00. He said he was going to send me the documents in Spanish but I haven't received those documents. That is not good. But I like the rep, Andrea, because she has been always interested in the case.

American Advisors Group took me from the beginning to the counseling service. I enjoyed the conversation with Tyler. He was full of things that I didn't know. He was an excellent teacher and easy to speak with. Listened when I spoke, promptly gave me back the information I was looking for, and was pleasant. I learned a lot of things about a mortgage and a reverse mortgage. The information was prudent to making a decision. And my final decision was I changed my mind. I don't want to do that. So, simply because after speaking with the counselor, I understood, even though I had many conversations with Tyler, there was a reason. I comprehended everything that he said, but it didn't lock in. We had so many conversations. It was coming so quickly.

We liked the lady that we were dealing with. We were very comfortable, and so far, AAG has been good. We don't want to give up the home, and we had no idea that we could use the equity in our house and still leave it with the option for the grandchildren to inherit it if they'd like.

The AAG rep has done a good job. He’s been informative. His follow-up has been appropriate. He’s always there if I come up with a question and need to have an understanding, he’s pretty clear about it. The counseling went well, too. It clarified some things.

I did the counsel and then the appraisal. The only thing, I didn’t like all the signing I had to do. But everything else was okay.

American Advisors Group sent me a couple of things of the information that I have been going over and trying to figure it all out. The rep was very helpful with it. She called me, and I called her and we talked back and forth. She was informative and nice. AAG would take over the mortgages I have on the house, pay it off. And whenever I die, my son would have to pay them back or sell the house. I was satisfied with AAG.

So far, so good with AAG. We’re at the stage where we’re waiting for the appraiser to come out. Rob has been really nice. He’s been easygoing and knowledgeable. He’s made this process straightforward and easy so far. Overall, they have been very helpful. We just hope that the process continues to be smooth.

Janice has been superb. If I hadn't had counseling, understanding my application would have been impossible. There were also pamphlets to read ahead of time, which helped. The application was still rough, though. It was very hard to understand. But the process went quickly.

The rep we're working with at AAG has been fantastic. She's done everything she's supposed to.

The AAG rep I worked with was wonderful. He was one of the kindest people that I've ever talked to and wanted to make sure that I understood everything. He's no longer there, but the guy that has taken over for him is equally as nice. The application process was also simple. This has been a better experience than I expected.

A friend mentioned that AAG was one of the best out there. I called them and I got a hold of Michael. He is just handling things well and he got everything he needs. He’s been waiting for me to get things electronically done. I’m older and trying to get all the things I have to get through. I’m working on that. Other than that, everything's fine. He actually sent me all the things in the mail and that stuff takes longer too. The counseling has also been assigned and it’s to him. In the interview that I did, they’re gonna take that out of the closing stuff because I don’t have any money. It’s been a good thing for me and I’m happy with it. Everything takes time and it’s coming along.

AAG has been very good. Both about appointing a personal point of contact who has worked with us, not only on the general topic of a reverse mortgage, but also in terms of applying that to our particular situation. We're very pleased, both in terms of the person-to-person contact and also the reference materials and the directions to further sources of information.

American Advisors Group had me do the counseling and we finished that. The rep knew what he was talking about. He told me that the counseling was $150 and the appraisal was $650, which I had paid. We're waiting for the appraiser and for the approval or disapproval.

Everybody I talked to at AAG was excellent. They seemed to be very thorough in what they wanted. They went over things with me and answered the questions that I had. They weren’t pushy. If I needed any questions answered, I could reach out. I’m happy. The rep I worked with was a very nice lady. She was competent. She knew what she was talking about. She was bending over backward to make sure that I knew what was going on. She called me on several different occasions to see how I was doing and made sure that I would be able to get certain papers that I needed. I was 100% comfortable with her.

AAG would ease up on the amount that we're paying out on each month. That means we wouldn't be paying out as much each month, but we would be able to afford more. The guy I worked with had been very professional. His name was Christopher and he'd been very patient and very helpful with everything. But I haven't gotten a whole lot of guidance and I have been concerned because I have heard that some things about reverse mortgages that I'm not thrilled with. So I've been dragging my feet. A little bit more explanation about reverse mortgages would be nice.

I've done everything with AAG. Yesterday, I just talked to someone from there who’s handling the case and he told me everything’s completed and they're getting ready to close. They even asked me how much money I wanted right away. When I first talked to their rep, he said the process would take anywhere from four to six weeks. So far, it has taken four weeks. AAG has been efficient and they're on the ball. They were very polite and understanding and answered every question I had.

I worked with John and he was friendly. He made sure I know exactly what I'm getting into and did not stare me down the wrong path.

My rep Terry has been thorough and he has updated me on things that I need to do or on what's going on. He's prompt to answer or return calls. He's very friendly and I feel comfortable working with him. The appraisal on my property was done yesterday and I'm just hoping for good results.

Our house is worth over a million dollars. I'm 87 years old and my wife's 83. AAG sent us a brochure and I talked with about a reverse mortgage. My experience has not been very good. There's too much paperwork. They bring a 150-page document and you have to read and sign each page.

I got called and I wanted a reverse mortgage. I wanted more money. So far, I've done the counseling. It's been several weeks and I've not heard back from AAG.

I contacted AAG and they discussed things with me. They were knowledgeable. We haven't finalized things yet but it is fine. It's going smoothly. So far, I've had a positive experience and I've been very happy.

AAG is has been very informative, fair, and great to work with. We got everything done and we got through all the counseling. We're just waiting for them to set up an appraisal and we'll make some decisions on where we go after we know the value.

Working with AAG was wonderful. I worked with Janet Reed and she was real polite. She explained everything to me.

I'm satisfied with the company. The young man that I had been dealing with on the mortgage was no longer there, though, and I got a new representative yesterday. But it's been good so far.

I was talking to a person from AAG and we had a general conversation as if I was talking to a counselor. I was asking him different questions about different things and I asked how much it was gonna be and he answered as if he was just a counselor. So, when he got to the point and he said what was gonna be on my closing statement and started reading out the numbers, I knew I had been talking to the wrong person. With the type of questions that I would always ask him and he would say we would get to them later, I asked him if he realized that I did not know I was not talking to a counselor. And he said he noticed the type of questions that I was asking but he didn't know. I told him that I was already working with somebody and we’re supposed to be closing in July. I can't work with two people. So, I'm gonna have to cancel out their service today. He told me that if I don't work out with the other person, I can always come back.

The AAG representative, although a relatively nice person, was overly aggressive and provided me with more information than I wanted at an early stage. He could have provided the information that I requested, not necessarily pushed everything at me at once. But he always answered if I called. Also, if I had confusion, he took care of it right away. He sent me plenty of information over the internet. He replied with charts, graphs, data and publicity literature. He did fine on data production and my ability to retain it.

It was very easy to get AAG the documents they needed. They're very professional and good too. Jeff, the rep I worked with, is the best. He's very thorough and he follows up, calls me back, checks on things, and lets me know everything's right. If I need to do something else, he keeps me updated.

I was in the mortgage business for 25 years, so I know how to do a mortgage and what goes on. We've just gotten started in the process with AAG, and everything has been fine. I've had to send them paperwork, and I had to schedule something that has to do about credit. The reps have been very helpful.

Todd seemed to be honest and upfront about everything and not holding anything back. He was a very good representative of AAG.

We're doing preliminary paperwork now with AAG and everything has been aboveboard and awesome.

Everything so far has been good with AAG. They've told us exactly where we need to be and what we need to say and not say.

They’ve done very well. I've been pleased with everything, so far. They’ve explained a lot of things. When they say they're gonna do something, they do it. The rep was also very nice and helpful. Made me feel like I really want to do this and keep going. They could work a little faster, though. Other than that, so far, so good.

I've been dealing with Allan from AAG for weeks already. He usually calls me every day to see how things are going. He's thorough with what he’s offering and what I will get on my HECM loan that I've applied for. I haven't heard from him in two days but I know he's a busy man on the phone, and I hate to interrupt him, but he always told me to call him if I needed anything. I also had my counseling here at home. A guy by the name of Charles came out and he sent a bunch of papers that I had signed.

Everything's going well, so far with AAG. The appraisal came out and that went well too. The agent that's working with me has been staying in close contact with me. I would recommend AAG to anyone.

AAG is a good company and I've been satisfied, so far. Everything is transparent. I'm waiting for the appraiser to come over and appraise my house. The rep I got has been very aggressive. He makes sure everything is done correctly and in a timely manner, too.

The AAG rep I worked with was outstanding. If I had any questions, he was always there to answer. If I called him, he was able to answer. He had said that if I had any questions, just feel free. The communication was very good. The counselor was also very good.

The AAG rep I worked with was great. He was there communicating quite a bit. Last time, I had to leave a couple of messages. But I haven't heard anything.

The AAG rep I worked with was Suzanne. She stayed in touch with me and continued to ask if I had any questions, and kept me updated on where we were in the process. I liked the fact that we went over everything over the phone, and then there was someone that she sent in-person to review all that I was signing up for. They also required a financial counselor to make sure that I understood what I was doing and that I was secure in that selection.

AAG has been pretty good and helpful. They're constantly letting me know all the steps all the way and advising me on things that I should do and not do.

AAG was very thorough. They were willing to compromise, too. My loan officer, Freida, was knowledgeable. She took her time.

I had an excellent experience with the rep at AAG. He walked me through trying to sign documents that we needed to electronically. We also did the counseling and made sure I was having questions about how it was going to work, and then the loan officer had plenty of time to explain to me how it was going to work by phone calls and by emails. They also sent me out paperwork to read and understand. I would recommend AAG.

All of the reps I talked to are good people. AAG is looking for $700 before the appraiser can come out, and I don’t have 700. Anita, the rep I'm working with, is a sweet person. She tried all she could to help me. I didn't have to try to come up with the $700 that if it would be okay if they could pay it for me. And she went to her supervisor. I would give Anita 100% 'cause she was there.

The representative that I'm working with is very personable. She's very interested and concerned about our situation. She was very knowledgeable. She answered all of our questions with no hesitation. I was able to verify all of her answers and her discussion of all of the specifics and particulars. Then we had a counseling session with a HUD representative, and he also confirmed all of the information that I received from the AAG agent. She was excellent and very impressive. I felt like I was talking to my friend. It was very nice.

The guy who was handling the loan is no longer with the company, so we got another person who called and we're working with her now. We just talked to her last night and sent some more papers to her. She's gonna be reaching out to us again to make sure she has everything. We're in the middle of the process, and the appraisal was two days ago, which seemed to go fine. AAG is getting the number today.

AAG's service has been really good. They keep us advised and explained everything really well. So, I'm pretty happy with the selection. Our rep has been the same one throughout and she's been really well in passing information and explaining things.

AAG is getting what I need to get done but it's really taking a long time. I talk to them about every other day. We needed a certificate signed and I faxed that to them. A couple of days later, it was something else and this keeps going. It would be better to have their ducks in a line and have all the stuff they need to ask the customer and give it to them at once. They should have a basic program that lays out what the customer has to furnish. They just do it piecemeal and it takes more time than I anticipated. I asked them today however they said another 30 days. We've been at it for about two and a half months. We don’t seem to be accomplishing anything.

I've had a good experience with AAG. They're out in California, and I'm in Bowling Green, Kentucky. They're about two hours behind me which means that if I get up early in the morning and call them, there's nobody at the office. But still, I've had them call early in the morning when they get there, around 8 o'clock my time. I'm still in the process of going in and they sent me a list of people I could get with to go in and give me information. I went to Legal Aid of Kentucky and got with an attorney there to make sure that everything's done legally.

The rep rep was wonderful. She was very considerate of my needs and I could tell she cared about me as a person. She listened and there was no pressure. I would recommend her to anybody else. The class that I had to take was informative. The guy explained things well I liked it. I learned a lot.

When I called AAG, I got a loan officer and I had a lot of questions. Right away, the next day, I received a packet from him that explained exactly what a reverse mortgage is. I’ve talked to him several times, and he has answered all my questions. My daughter had questions to ask and he has been wonderful to help us. Now that I’m in underwriting, there was a lady who called us and she has been wonderful. They’ve been there. They listened to me. They don’t try to just talk business and get off the phone.

They've been pretty good so far. They've done pretty well explaining to me what my need was gonna be, what's happening, and what to do. Christy was very informative and helpful. From the counseling session I had, they kind of informed me of what to expect.

So far, everything is moving right along as it should. I got the appraisal in a timely manner. The communication has been kind of spotty at times, but that's kind of my fault because I'm on vacation, so I'm hard to get a hold of. But communication has been pretty good. So far, the process has moved along smoothly.

Everybody has been awesome. They've been expediting the process really well.
