While the process took almost 60-days to complete from start-to-end, I was able to achieve my goal of eliminating my monthly mortgage P&I payments using an AAG Reverse Mortgage. Overall this was a very satisfactory result.

AAG was upfront and very thorough. I gave them some information, they checked it out, and things went like clockwork. The lady I talked with was Eileen. She seemed to be very knowledgeable of the product and the process. She's in California and I'm in North Carolina, but she got back to me very quickly. She was very helpful in helping me make sure I gave them the right information. They sent me some information thru email then put something in the mail that got to me quickly. They made sure I understood how the reverse mortgage was and if it was right for us.

The first time that we used AAG for a reverse mortgage was also for my uncle on his other home. He did the market research himself and selected AAG and then asked me to start the paperwork process. The paperwork with AAG is much more extensive than any other mortgage. But there's a lot of information. I like that they use DocuSign because that helps the process go faster. Locating all the required documents took a long time. Nowadays, a lot of people don't get all these documents in the mail every month like we used to. You have to log into an account and access a bank statement or a mortgage statement. That was a challenge with my uncle because he was not on the computer due to his disability. Also, he wasn't getting things by paper in the mail.

The rep I work with at AAG is wonderful. He's got a good personality and he's really relaxed and not all business. I like him. We're waiting on closing and we can't do it until the end of March because my husband doesn't turn 62 until March 29th.

The customer support so far has been really great.

Working with the agent was very good and I was impressed with the agent. He was very accommodating and he spoke very clearly. We're elderly and we need a lot of patience from people. He made sure we understood what he was telling us. AAG has been wonderful. They moved things along and it was amazing that the process has gone as smoothly as it has. We accomplished what we wanted and they met our goals. I'm very impressed with the company.

I'm doing the paperwork right now and it's really stressful. They shouldn't have that much paperwork. But I was impressed with the answer that they gave me and they explained everything to me. So far, everything has been all right. But they could change the part where you need to pay out something before you get the loan

The reps are very professional, answered all my questions and very straightforward with me. They told me to call them anytime I have any issues and I have. So far, everything's been going good. The reps at AAG didn’t have to sell the reverse mortgage to me. I’ve made up my mind and they just helped me go through all the steps I needed. I had a couple of concerns, like what would happen if, somehow, I signed a piece of paper, that I don't own the house anymore. But they assured me that wouldn't happen. They email me and text me everything that's going on. I've talked to people that are my age and I don't know if they're considering AAG, but I was telling them that if they do, I could give them names and phone numbers. My neighbor did his 10 years ago and once in a while, we'll talk about it and he's satisfied with everything.

We're still working with AAG, and everything's going along as normal. They're still sending me forms and I'm filling out whatever I can. I have somebody coming in today to look over the house and see what it's worth. When I called AAG, the lady that started off the process told me that everything is going to plan and everything is working fine. I have to take her word for it because I've never did anything like this before. I have her number and she has told me that any time I got any kind of paperwork or any questions at all that I needed help with answering, I could call her and as soon as she can get back, she will help me with it. They have explained everything to me about how the loan works and how you go about paying it back. Right now, they've been as nice as they could be.

I called AAG and they explained to me how it worked. I had questions about what happens to the property if I'm gone and they said that the kids had a year to pay it off or sell it or get a new loan. That was what I was more interested in than anything as to what would happen to it if something was to happen to me tomorrow.

One guy called me and he gave me people who were going to call me about my reverse mortgage with AAG. I'm pretty comfortable working with my loan officer and right now, I'm still in the middle of the process. Their rep, Mike, is supposed to call me and the appraiser’s supposed to be out here on Monday. Also, there are too many signatures that I have to do.

It's worth contacting American Advisors Group and discussing what your options would be, because they are very informative and they care about you. We had to go through counseling. It was an on-the-phone consultation. It lasted 45 minutes. And we have talked with the person that got ahold of us, Kyle, extensively. He explained exactly what it was and all the pros and the cons and what we would do should one of us pass or when both of us pass, what we're supposed to tell our heirs, made sure that we were comfortable with the whole process. I could send Kyle an email whenever, or a text message, and he would get back to me as soon as he could. It was within a half-hour. He even texted me back once and said, “I'm on a phone call. As soon as I'm finished, I'll call you.” It was 25 minutes, and he called me.

I worked with Don and we hit it off when we were talking. He explained a lot of things and I enjoyed talking with him. I would recommend AAG.

We started out with another company that I was unhappy with. So I emailed three companies all at the same time and AAG responded immediately. I forwarded all the things we've done with the other company over to Brandy at AAG and she's been very helpful. Brandy made my wife feel very, very comfortable.

AAG's loan officer was great. Everything went smoothly and easily. As a matter of fact, my father was a banker in charge of consumer credit and getting a loan from AAG was a lot easier than getting a loan from him. The rate was a touch high, but the terms seemed to be pretty good. I’d tell a friend to look into AAG.

American Advisors had the appraiser guy come here on Monday. So, we're waiting on the report. So far, so good. My loan officer, Jason, is super nice. If you're looking for a reverse mortgage, AAG is the company to go to.

I’m doing the reverse mortgage for a patient of mine and AAG has been responsive and very helpful. They've called us back and sent us pamphlets. They've worked good with us to address any concerns. The rep has been great and caring. She has explained to my patient how it works. We have called her several times during the day because my patient has questions and she has answered it or called us right back. My patient is scared that she’s gonna lose her home and the rep would tell her that she’s not gonna lose her home unless she dies or goes into a nursing home for a long period of time. So, I don’t have any complaints with AAG.

In talking with rep Mike, I learned that I don’t want a LISA. It would be a disadvantage to have. I was able to communicate that with him and that had been straightened out. I had my home inspection yesterday. Things seem to be moving forward smoothly. However, Mike has not sent me the amortization tables yet. He sent me a sample based on his best guess as far as what my loan was gonna be. But, he's been very helpful, open and proactive. It's been a positive experience.

We've just begun the process with American Advisors and so far, I've been happy.

AAG was great. The reverse mortgage is for my brother. I help him with a lot of stuff because he doesn't understand. I've been on all the phone calls so that if he has any questions, I know I can help him with it. Ashley has been working with us and she has been really good and very helpful. She's answered all of our questions. AAG is supposed to be sending out a notary to meet with my brother to get some of the notarized credit applications and stuff signed. He's gone through the counseling part of it.

The rep had very good communication skills. She answered the questions before I could even think of what to ask. AAG has a quick process and they are very efficient.

AAG is a reputable company. I was dealing with a lady rep there and everything's been pretty good. We had the appraisal done, went through the debt counseling session and they've been able to keep me informed and let me know what's going on. They're not leaving me in the dark as to what's happening, and that's something that's really important to me.

I deal with Roxanne and I get a response usually within seconds when it's a question so I appreciate that. She walks me through things. I did the appraisal and the counseling. There were a couple of questionable things that I have to get paid off and I've got settlement offers from the two different companies so I sent all that over. All my paperwork is sitting out there and I’m just waiting for AAG to make sure the title's clear, which is redundant. I'm hoping that in the next couple of weeks that they'll tell me to come and pick up my money or ask where they can drop it off.

I had to take a counseling session over the phone and the agent I talked to explained everything. Craig, my loan officer was great. He wasn't pushy and he was very helpful. Working with them has been pretty good.

I worked with their rep Kyle and he was very friendly, jovial, and informative. I liked him. He was very nice and didn't push me. He's there for me anytime I want to talk to him. AAG has been great. I recommend anybody to work with them.

The first guy I talked to was able to explain everything to me, and I got all the information and found out what I needed to do. I did it for my dad. I did as much from Phoenix as I could, then I went to see my dad so I could finish up there. The experience has been a roller coaster for the last couple of months. I kept feeling that I was getting different information all the time. I was trying to use a power of attorney and that was becoming a headache. AAG needed so much other stuff to go with it. I'd like to see them be able to use a power of attorney without having to get a doctor's okay. They wanted an additional power of attorney for just this, so there was a lot of stuff. If they didn't need a power of attorney, then the process would be smooth sailing.

I spoke to the loan officer and I was satisfied with his knowledge and I was confident in doing business with him. The process is going okay. I'm just waiting to get a home appraisal done.

The only asset I have is my house and I can't live without food. I bought the house and I had money left over. I had to put it all back into the house. We planned from the day we bought the house and we assumed we'd have to go with a reverse mortgage in order to pay for that. We wanted to do it first but then AAG wouldn't have given me a reverse mortgage in the condition the house was when I bought it. I put $200,000 in this house. Now, it's the newest house in the neighborhood. But it's the oldest one in the neighborhood because it was started in 1915.

AAG's rep was very upfront with everything that we needed to do and he was very timely on getting back to us once we had sent him information. But we didn't end up finishing the process because my mother-in-law's health took a turn for the worse.
