I recently made an appointment at Pearle Vision in Uniontown PA. The afternoon before my appointment I got a call asking me to confirm my name, address etc. nothing unusual there. However, they then asked by DOB...followed by, "We are not seeing anyone over 55 for appointments" and they duly cancelled the appointment I had for the following morning! Is it a policy of Pearle Vision that they are refusing to see people over 55 or just this local Uniontown PA store??

Pearle Vision is the worst place to get glasses, my friends. Over 4 months down the road and still don't have my glasses because their lab is incapable to get it right and unfortunately they have a no refund policy. They expect you to lower your standards and accept glasses with frames that don't fit the lenses so your lenses can fall off. All they do is sell you expensive plastic frames aka big brand names that have no price tag on so they can change as they wish. I guess their policy is to charge you for trying so even if they can't deliver a good pair of glasses to you there is no refund. Save yourself the headache, time and money and go to a more qualified place because Pearle Vision is a JOKE!!!

Flint, MI this one's for you! I would have left a review on Google but that feature has been disabled. I would never have scheduled an exam there if I know it was going to be considered by an employee that just returned to the company and a trainee. The doctor didn't do any part of the exam, just showed up virtually to see if I had concerns with my vision. My concerns were with my exam but I specifically, and repeatedly, voiced that I wanted the Biofinity contacts, no substitutions. He agreed to that.

The person that just came back to work for the company was trying to sell me glasses. She already knew that I only wanted the Biofinity contacts. She said that she was having trouble entering my order because it kept wanting to default to generic. After about 10 minutes, she said she finally was able to enter it and have it shipped to my home instead of the store so I could pick them up. (I will NEVER agree to that again.)

I opened my box as soon as it arrived and saw that they were the generic brand. Of course, I didn't pay the generic price because I was adamant that I didn't want to risk trying other brands. I immediately called and demanded the Biofinity lenses. The woman told me that Cooper Vision has a partnership with them and that's just their agreed upon marketing packaging but the lenses with the name brand. Biofinity is nowhere on the packaging, box or bubble.

Against my better judgment, I gave them a try and they were horrible! They would rip and tear easily, sometimes only lasting a week. They still wouldn't exchange them. If these were the correct lenses, then the fitting had to be incorrect. After all, all aspects of the exam were conducted by someone that used to work for Pearle Vision and just recently returned and someone that just started that day.

I haven't had a difficult exam or contact lens experience in over 15 years but this entire ordeal was awful and I would only go back out off extreme desperation. There are plenty of other places that would be willing to have my business and I could even have an exam performed by an experienced and licensed professional.

From the beginning of my visit to the establishment I was received with a big smile by the staff and without a doubt they provided me with great support during the process of my selection and acquisition of my family lenses, not only did they result in one more sale, but they were more there attending to my needs and preferences, this was possible in a very agile and precise way by Aida, who, with her professionalism and kindness, led me to make the best decision for the acquisition of our lenses.

I cannot fail to mention the great attitude and professionalism with which I was treated during the delivery of each item by such an excellent and trained lady, who with her always smiling and attentive characteristic made receiving our things more comfortable. The icing on the cake: when she gave my daughter’s some cleaning wipes with a big smile, it was not the present, but the detail, and the sum of all those small details is why I will always be able to recommend and return with confidence with this great place. First of all, we showed up on time for our appointment, and were told that the person in front of us didn’t show up so we would be seen shortly. That didn’t happen, the person showed up five minutes before our appointment and they were taken before us, we had to wait until 15 minutes after our appointments. You used to get glasses in an hour, now they won’t even give you a timeframe, however, two weeks plus is longer than any other place in the area. Then we call to see where our glasses are, at 5 PM when they are open until 6 PM, but the voicemail picks up and says they are closed. They then proceeded to tell me they turn the phones off an hour before they close. Do not recommend.

1st of all, I went to Pearle Vision because years ago they were the best in class in Ohio. I now live in the Lexington, KY area. I make an appointment at their Fayette Mall store. So I show up. Nothing. They had appointment scheduled, so they sends me to their Palomar store. No appointment scheduled, but I was "lucky" they had time. Two weeks later glasses came in. Checked their store hours and they were closed when I arrived. Ok, I come back and finally get my glasses. Both pairs bad. I call back and came back. They once again redid my exam.

Two weeks later I return. What? Closed again, during business hours! Oh, yes I called first, no answer, BOTH stores! I call another store, who calls me back to tell me my replacement glasses are at Fayette Mall store. "Oh, I'm sorry. They are closed Wednesday, so wait to Thursday." Honestly, I will never come back. So if you have followed my story so far, go someplace else for your eyewear needs. Anywhere but Pearle Vision!

So I just gave up and forgot about it and when I tried to contact him again about trying to correct it they said it was too late. I had tent put on them, don't know if that was a problem but the frames and the lenses seem to be way too cheap. Not sure if it was Pearle vision or the one that did the lenses but the last pair I got from them were fine and they still work for me but they wouldn't do my old prescription with the new glasses. So I just keep wearing my old glasses.

The issue started with the eyewear provider not billing my claims correctly, after 8 months of billing 4 corrected claims and Superior Vision “guiding“ the provider on how to bill, it was determined to be a “system glitch”. In what clearly appears to be a case of Superior Vision guiding the provider how to bill the claims so they would coincide with what the provider showed my plan coverage to be, it turns out Superior Vision did not have my plan loaded correctly, the provider did. The provider initially billed with the wrong codes and did not bill for the items my plan covered at a discounted rate. Since Superior Vision never had my plan loaded correctly that is why none of the EOBs that were issued reflected the correct coverage. Luckily, the provider did offer the discount prices (as per my plan). The EOBs should have reflected and never did.

The first three times they got them back in at the store they had to send them back to the lab because they there made to big for the frames. Columbia MO location. Do not go to this non corporate (privately own location or any others owned by them). Multiple HIPAA, ADA and other violations (front half of store). Optometrist is good but probably should seek employment elsewhere due to sales/support staff. I’d see him again. First problem: They refused to accommodate a patient before me, who had a disability, request for assistance. An American Disability Act protected event and violation. Stated it was a HIPAA Violation. I informed the staff at the time of their incorrect interpretation of HIPAA and that are actually violating ADA. I ended up helping their patient, because they wouldn’t, and all she needed help with was filling out the intake paperwork which she couldn’t do because of a tremor.

The first girl that helped me was very nice but added on services and had us pay for them “cause they were not sure if insurance would cover them or not”. I will say the eye doctor was amazing, provided excellent care, information, and was very professional (Very good eye doctor)! When looking for glasses they offered very little help/suggestions, and I had to ask to see things behind multiple locked cabinets. While I was looking at glass I overhear another associate helping a patient. The associate was talking very “INTENSE” and patronizing is the best way to describe it (not intentionally rude but aggressive).

This same associate then became our person and while she offered a little more feedback in glasses (than another associate who was too busy watching sports) I asked her a question about the coating they use for glasses (as I had a problem with a specific coating in my last glasses) and was trying to make sure they do not use that coating. She did not listen to my question and gave an answer to sell their product.

I requested a specific coating and she said they can’t do that and that the coating company does not allow it for my prescription type. I then pulled out the certificate of authenticity of that coating in my glasses case. She said “I must have had a different vision problem as that is only offer for lens that need need a different correction. I continued to try and find out answers to my original question and was still met with hostile word choices, told “I still don’t believe you had that” “I don’t know how to explain it to you any other way. I’ve explained it in layman terms” (as an answer to something not my question in the First place).

My spouse was able to find preferred glasses but after leavening I had a bad feeling and started checking reviews. The glasses picked were $485 more expensive than online for the same product. We can understand some price differences but almost $500 more is outrageous. I called to cancel the glasses order (within 19 hours of placing and informed the management of the ADA issue I observed and multiple other HIPAA violations. I was told, "She is due in at ten but that doesn’t mean anything, and if she doesn’t return your call please call back again." (I think we may have found the source of the problem!).

The manger refused to cancel our transaction, stating "we have signs 'all sales final'" and she was not concerned about their violations and chose to argue her incorrect interpretation stating, "OUR company policy." I then read their “guarantee” to her (attached) RETURN*. I then tried to explain: a refund can only happen after a purchase. According to universal commercial code, a purchase requires payment and exchange of goods. As the exchange of goods has not occurred, their contractual obligations of the purchase is in breach. So it is not a refund. It is simply returning the money back.

We will file “good faith complaints” for their violations to the appropriate government/agencies. Do not support a company who treats people with disabilities this way, or pay their way overpriced prices for terrible customer service staff/management. Don’t believe their review ratings. Many companies buy 5 star reviews, and their local Website states a high Google review rating but in “quotes” includes only 2 reviews. Shady shady!!!

Horrible experience. Damaged lenses due to cheap blue filter coating coming off after 4 months of purchasing. Pearle Vision tells me now that even though I purchased lenses through them, they didn't make them - Cigna, in their words, covers a low end product. I went to Pearle since they advertise using Luxottica lenses, I was charged over $450 (lenses only, no frame, I brought my own since they didn't have a brand of my liking) and paid $140 copay. They knowingly overbilled me for services and will not issue a refund. They tried to cover their actions with the Attorney Generals office by submitting sloppy “backup” thinking it would be sufficient. They have been avoiding the Attorney General's request for documentation to support their reasoning for months. Because the Attorney General's office is limited and cannot take legal action, if they get enough people that have valid cases of fraudulent billing then they can escalate the issue. My advice would be to check your explanation of benefits from your insurance company against what you were asked to pay at the time of service. Demand Pearle Vision give you a breakdown of the bundled package pricing they charge you. Report Pearle vision to your insurance company if they will not assist you.

Highway Robbery on HWY 9. (Note The # of Rip Off Reviews). I went into Pearle with a pair of bifocals for a 99 year old WW-II Veteran, who is in a resident of a nearby nursing home, down the street from Pearle. I explained that I needed to have his existing eyeglasses repaired as the only way the owner of the glasses could get there, would be by ambulance which isn't possible. I asked if he could either put the lenses back in (they had popped out). He barely looked at them and said: "the lenses were cut too small, that's why they fell out. You would have to replace the eyeglasses". I asked that he use whatever parts that could be reused to keep the price as low as possible. I heard him ask his assistant to get the $189.00 frames from the rack. He put them down and began calculating with a final price of $389.00 for a pair of "heavy duty" frames, assuring me this was my only option.

I decided to try another optometrist who took a look, went in the back, came out with the lenses in the frame and said he must've fell asleep with them on, the bridge of the nose got bent and it changed the shape of the frames around the lenses. It's fine now see and he twisted them like a pretzel to prove it. He said: "no charge" and absolutely refused a tip.

I sincerely hope there's a place in hell reserved for parasites like the guy who owns or runs this Pearle Vision Center. Poor Dr. Pearle must be doing cartwheels in his grave with this guy running the show! *Also note how many (one star) "Rip Off" reviews are on Yelp alone, I'll be reposting this message on social media everywhere!

Worst eyeglass services in the history of glasses. Went to my appointment 12/2 for new glasses over a month ago. The first time I got my glasses back 12/15 they made the wrong script. They made a positive lens instead of negative. You would think that's something you would double-check. This 2nd time took 3 weeks still haven't got them. They texted me Monday night the 1/4 at 4:56pm saying my glasses were in they close at five. So I go there first thing in am the next day only to find they are closed. who closes a store all day on Tuesday. I mean why even text me Monday that my glasses were ready why not just wait until Wednesday. I highly suggest you avoid this place at all cost. Pearle is very sloppy... Like a sleeping bag after a long hot summer night. Everyone should avoid pearle like the plague. P.S. They made me go through Christmas not being able to see. #CancelPearleVision# BoycottPearle Vision.

I've been wearing eye glasses for over 30 years. This was my first visit for eye glasses (not an exam) at Pearle Vision. I purchased 2 progressive pair of eyeglasses. One pair was perfect, the other was a nightmare. I had to make at least 10 visits for THEM to attempt to correct their issues of forgetting to measure for progressive, chipped frame, scratched lenses, progressive line incorrect, glasses were lost in transit to their store, etc. This was THREE month process and they would not give me a refund that I insisted on. As I type this I can't wear them as the bifocal line is incorrect. Can't believe how cheaply made the frame is. This was an overall cost for 2 pair of glasses of over $800.00. I will go back to Shopko Optical to get a pair in a timely manner that I can actually wear to see and read from. Another $350 out of pocket. UGH!!! Terribly stressful ad still not satisfied.

I have worn glasses for more than 30 years and just a month ago got my first pair from Pearle Vision. They aren't even a month old and all scratched up, more than my 2.5 year old pair. I paid extra for the non-scratch coating - what a rip-off. When I went to the store today to see what they would do they said my only option was to use my one time replacement and $25 to get lenses replaced and that I must of dropped them. Their quality is very poor.

I visited Pearle Vision located in Fleming Island after having a very bad experience at another eye doctor visit. I called to schedule an immediate appointment and Kelly answered the phone. She was so polite and ensured me that my experience would be better. She told me that I could stop by at any time, I asked if “now” was an option and she said yes. I was greeted by Susie when I arrived about 10 minutes later. Susie was equally polite. She gave me options of affordable eyewear and explained my insurance plan to me. She was not pushy at all nor did she try to sell me the most expensive brand. I don’t know why I didn’t go to Pearle Vision first, but I’m sure glad that I made the decision to go, it turned out to be a great choice!

The Pearle Vision guarantee: “Our guarantee If for any reason you aren’t 100% satisfied with your eyewear purchase, you can return it. Bring the merchandise back in its original condition within 30 days of your purchase and we’ll make things right.” Is misleading at best. The optician said to try the progressive lenses, with a total out of pocket of $400.56. I decided to go with the single vision, don’t even think you’d get a refund for the difference. I got the single vision lenses and paid for the progressive lenses. What a fantastic scam! Don’t forget to check your bill for the $34.95 Eyewear Protection Plan, that was slipped into my bill stealthily by Nick. I would avoid this business. Dishonest.

I hate the puff of air in the eyes exam it makes me tear or close my eyes but she had good results quickly. No torture, that was wonderful. Then I was examined by Dr. **. She is pretty, petite and knowledgeable. She told me I have to take better care of my diabetes when I said I had eaten a half Banana Split the night before. We got along famously. I showed Lita my glasses and told her I wanted new frames similar to the ones I had. She found them right away and she helped my husband get frames he was happy with.

Anthony measured us for our new frames and even adjusted my husbands old ones. Everyone we met was in a good mood, they were friendly and helpful. The visit was a smooth , productive one. This was one of the best experiences I have had at that Pearle store. It really was fun and very organized. I also noticed that there was constant cleaning and also plenty of hand sanitizers available. Great job. Thank you. Carmen

Outraged with no other option but to buy more glasses. Dollar store glasses last longer than a so called reputable company such as Burberry. These are reading glasses I only wore while at work 3 days a week. I would not recommend buying Burberry from any optical place but I will never go back to Pearle. I have purchased glasses for my wife and myself over the years but they will not get a cent from me. I've gone to the Pearle store in Elk River, MN. The people are very nice, courteous and helpful. Now to appreciate and/or understand my disappointment, it is relevant to mention that for 15 years I've done business with the Walmart Optical department in Elk River. Walmart always provided a good value of product and service, as well as getting my glasses quickly, and the lenses we very good quality (I had a problem with one lens, but otherwise no scratches over many years).

I went to Pearle because my health insurance and employer provided "incentives". However, in spite of these incentives, and a nice selection of frames not found at Walmart (name brand pricey stuff...Rayban, etc.), after only a couple of years I'm on my second set of lenses with the first set chipping in the corner, and now this second set has scratches...noticeable scratches, not to mention that the coating is coming off of the frame (yeah, the more expensive frame!), and I didn't treat the Walmart glasses any different than these.

I've only taken the time to mention this here because the last set of replacement lens took 2 weeks to get. And I should add that picking up the new lenses took an "appointment", and in spite of that appointment it took more than 45 minutes for them to put the new lenses in the frame. I had a lens replaced once at Walmart, no appointment, stopped in on the way home from work, and I was walking out the door in 10 minutes! I don't plan on going back to, or dealing with, Pearle again. After the long wait to get them in first place, and the dramatic process of getting lenses replaced...twice is enough.

I will add that the glasses I got at Pearle were considerably more expensive than their Walmart counterpart, but I liked the frames...and it evened out a little by the "incentives"...but in hind sight I wish I'd have gone with Walmart then...as I will now. In fact, I'll just start using/wearing my old glasses. Sometimes you get what you pay for, sometimes not so much.

I recently bought Amazon's new Echo Frames and was so excited about it that I rushed out to Pearle Vision to start the process for getting the lenses before the frames arrived. The clerk was skeptical until I showed her the specifications on my Amazon receipt when she very confidently assured me that they would have no problem getting the lenses for me. The next day, my frames arrived and I promptly took them to Pearle Vision to continue the process. The clerk told me that it would be 2-3 days (which I verified meant business days) and they would be ready for me.

I patiently waited 2 days longer than that, returning the same day the following week after I had started to wonder why I was not yet contacted. The clerk checked on things, and realized that the company had stored my frames in the back room, and never sent them to the location that was supposed to fit the lenses to them. She then claimed that with the included shipping and handling time that was still necessary, it would take at least another 3 business days to complete my purchase.

At this point, I was upset and felt that I deserved to be compensated for their errors. I was set in the corner to wait for a manager for the better part of half an hour. After complaining a bit to the manager, she agreed to give me a 14% refund for my troubles, and to get the glasses completed for me and back to the same store ready to go by no later than noon the following day. This felt reasonable to me and I left feeling comfortable that they had done a good job of making amends.

No more than an hour later, I received a call from their store stating that they didn't think they could install the lenses without breaking the wiring in the frames and destroying them completely. At this point, I was given one of two options, accept a refund and come get the frames the next day, or give them permission to destroy the expensive frames while attempting to fit the lenses. I made it clear that I didn't like either option and deserved more than a full refund for all my time and travel, but they refused. At this point, I did not trust anything that they were telling me, and insisted on getting the location that the frames were currently at, multiple cities away, and rushed out to retrieve them before the store closed and more problems could arise.

When I arrived at the store, they had the police there waiting for me, and they refused to do anything other than refund the purchase price of the item that they refused to sell to me. No compensation for my time, reneging on their promises, or the gas and wear and tear on my vehicle with the multiple trips I had to expend to straighten things out, included the extra long drive required to retrieve my glasses. And the case that I had left them in had conveniently disappeared, while they claimed that they never accept cases to protect expensive frames that are brought in for service. Then the company had me trespassed from their store for good measure. All because I insisted that they follow through on a contract.

My daughter suggested computer glasses. I went to Pearle Vision (PV). PV talked me into a top of the line digitally mastered trifocals ($1600). They said that there would be slight areas in the extreme lower L&R that would be out of focus when reading. When they came there was only one word per line that was IN focus! When I complained they tried to say that they had indicated this. BS! Who wants to turn their head to read from word to word. Then they proclaimed that there were no refunds! I should have contacted VISA. But they offered 3 separate pairs of glasses: Distance, Computer, Reading. All with good frames and all the coatings and variable sunglasses on the distance glasses. I was talked into it. Bottom line. I used the computer glasses for 3 months ('to let my eyes adjust to them').

My eyes get so tired by the end of the day I can't read my computer screen! My eyes are watering and stinging. Store bought cheaters from CVS do better!!! And it took 3 tries to get them good enough to carry out of the store... The distance glasses were worse. Can't use them at all. I gave up trying. The reading glasses are the best of the lot, but these too are no better than $20 dollar glasses from CVS. Which I'm wearing now (after $1600 :-/ ).

I have used my local Pearle Vision store for my eye exam and glasses purchases even though they are most expensive, will not use my insurance, and take a long time after purchase to deliver my glasses. They carry a brand of glasses frames I like that I can’t get at other stores. On my most recent visit, the Optometrist noticed that my left eye had much poorer vision, most likely due to a cataract. He recommended that I make an appointment with my Ophthalmologist to determine why my left eye was so much worse than my right eye.

I asked if I should go ahead with ordering glasses until after the follow up exam. I noted that my parents had cataract surgery and have not worn glasses since their lens implants. He said I should order glasses, but would be able to change the order after my follow up exam, if necessary. I had my Ophthalmologist exam 3 days later, which confirmed cataracts. My Cataract Surgeon confirmed that trifocal lenses could be implanted that would most likely eliminate the need for glasses. I called to cancel my + $1000 glasses order 3 days after leaving the store. The store refused the cancellation, claiming the new lenses were already made.

A Plastic coating, that was considered to be an upgraded option was applied to my corrective lenses and deteriorated within 2 years of purchasing. This created a cloudy lens. My wife and I visited the store last spring and were told initially by an associate that the coating was only supposed to last 1-2 years. We asked her why would we were not informed of this at the time of purchase? We then asked to speak with the store manager. The store manager then changed the "diagnosis" and said that the eyeglasses were scratched, which is why the lens was cloudy.

My wife was now upset that we were suddenly being blamed, especially since she purchased her glasses the same day and could see through her lenses just fine. I explained that this couldn't be possible since I kept my glasses in the case when not worn and polished them with the tools that Pearle Vision gave me. My wife knew that I took excellent care of my glasses and she asked for the manufacturer's information. I contacted the manufacturer who also would not help. I issued my concern with the Better Business Bureau and the Attorney General and learned that the owner of the Pearle Vision franchise that I purchased my glasses from lied to the Attorney General stating that I was negligent in caring for my glasses.

If I had known that the coating would fail, I would have NEVER bought it! We even told Jim's store manager that had they been transparent with this known issue before anyone bought, no one would! The store manager said nothing. I am concerned that others have experienced this same issue and were blamed like we were that the damage was due to negligent care. I am concerned that Pearle Vision knows that 99 out of 100 will replace their prescriptions every two years anyway and if not, fall victim to being blamed for not taking care of their glasses. Pearle Vision and its supplier can then continue to make a substantial profit, continue the lie, instead of owning the outcome of a known problem.

I replaced my prescription glasses with another eye care organization. I was told that these coatings are known to scratch and even chip! If a material used in the manufacturing process is known to last a limited timeframe, this information should be disclosed before purchase. We were given a 12 month warranty when Pearle Vision and the manufacturer KNEW that the material would fail shortly after that. How poor does it get when we cannot even trust a medical institution to care for us in an ethical manner.

I was told to come back a week later for another exam. I did. Not one lens Dr. ** tested me on was clear. A week later, one of the pairs was "corrected" but the bifocal was not right. Mike the manager was a condescending creep who stuck his finger in my face, tried to lecture me how I "have" to wear the glasses high up on my nose (despite my having the bifocal height set to be lower on purpose), he refused to allow me to take these paid in full glasses to my car to check out if I could see the dash through the trifocal. He refused to allow me to speak to the owner. He refused to refund my money. I got up to leave, he did another hand gesture and was smirking like "haha lady now we have your money AND your glasses!"

I walked out, but said an expletive when I reached the door. A person can only take so much. I tried to talk to the owner today, Joe. He accused ME of disrupting his business and agreed to a refund. Then he said "except for the doctor fee". I said -- "But the doctor caused all of this, the prescription is still wrong" -- to which he said -- "Too bad". When you go to a doctor and they are wrong you still have to pay, then you pay again for a second opinion. He refused to contact my insurance company to reset my benefits. Then he asked if I had contacted my credit card, I said yes -- to protest this charge, so he can now tell them he is willing to do the refund -- he said, "No, I won't do that now. You will just have to wait."

With that, he started laughing out loud at me! Yes, he earned himself his own expletive and then I hung up. These jerks have now stolen $889.35 and 3 pairs of glasses, probably committed insurance fraud, and assaulted (finger in my face by Mike) and humiliated a senior citizen who is also handicapped. I had my eye exam done there because it is close to my home, usually I use a private MD not a chain store. I was given a very brief exam in which the Eye doctor only changed the views 4 times each eye, asking me to pick the better of the two views, I kept telling her that none of the views was sharp but this one was "better". After this very quick exam she pronounced me at 20/20 and gave me a pair of contacts and ordered my glasses. I wore the contacts home and nearly got into a car accident because I could not see well enough to drive. I called back voicing my concern but nothing was done. I had a follow-up appointment scheduled about the contacts which I did not wear after making it home that first night.

I called about 10 days later to cancel that apt and was told my glasses had come in three days ago, I went and picked them up, wore them 4 days to make sure I was correct about them being the wrong prescription, I went back to the office explained that the bifocals were in the wrong place because in order to use them I have to tip my head way back because they are too low, I also explained that they were not the correct prescription because I could not see well enough with them to safely drive especially at night, the "doctor" sat me in the chair again started in the same place, turned it 4 times and pronounced me at 20/20.

I kept telling her about how they were not sharp, I could not read street signs until I was right on top of them but she got nasty and insisted that this prescription was correct, that at her store she only makes corrections to 20/20, and refused to fix them or my too low bifocals. I am positive that these glasses are NOT 20/20 because I can't see with them. Never have I had this type of problem before. I have worn glasses for 50 years, and now I've wasted my time and a lot of money and have worse eyesight then I do with my old glasses.

After explaining what I wanted after my glasses first came in and paid for the difference (dickering involved) my glasses came back within a week. So far so good. If I have any more concerns Pearle Vision will know.

The day of the appointment I was presents an information sheet for any changes. I informed the intake clerk I have a Vision plan. She called the carrier and was advised I have medicare advantage. She advised me that plan is not acceptable by them, my carrier is in the network. The charge is a $15.00 copay. They will bill the insurance, they may or may not pay. If not then I would be billed.

I asked what would be the charges. Her response was, "I don't know." I explain to her I need to be sure that the insurance will pay. Her response was, "You will know once the bill is presented." I advised, "I have a Vision plan and would rather use a service in the network that will pay." At that point her attitude and treatment toward me changed to unpleasant, she snatched my card from her desk and advised her co worker that there was no need to continue, returned my insurance card and took her seat.

My mother needed new eyeglasses so she decided to go to Pearle Vision in Stamford, Ct. After an eye exam she was looking at frames and explained that she wanted a cheap pair of frames because her insurance only covered so much. They told her the cheapest frames were $225.00. I happened to be on the phone with her when this took place so I asked her to put the sales rep on the phone with me. The woman says the frames are very high end and that they are the cheapest they sell. I asked her much the lens would be with the bifocal and transition added and she told me the lenses would be $425.00 plus the frames. I told her she was nuts and that there are much cheaper options out there so she said to me "go and take advantage of them then if they are so much cheaper."

All said and done we went to Vision Care of Stamford and got the same glasses and frames for $245.00 total including the tax. Pearle Vision is nothing shy of a crooked shakedown operation looking for gullible people and they do indeed play all kinds of games with the prices. In my opinion you would have to be a complete idiot to patronize these crooked parasites. Not one single favorable review on this website. You have been warned.

I recently decided to order new glasses and went to Pearle Vision again. The salesperson Amanda ** was very persistent about me getting progressive & anti reflective lenses. I was very skeptical about doing so but Amanda told me I had nothing to worry about and if I didn’t like the Progressive lenses they could replace them with single vision lenses. But she never mentioned that we would not be eligible for a refund or price adjustment in that situation.

I ordered 2 pairs of glasses with progressive lenses and paid $1,340. These are the WORST glasses I have had in my life. The frames are fine, but I cannot see at all, at the intermediate and close range without a near-instant headache. I have been in contact and found out that there is no such thing as a refund or price adjustment. I feel like I'm being ripped off by Pearle Vision. Contacted Corporate Office - no response.

We have been going to Pearle Vision for about 20 years, almost every year, but this year after my wife had her eye exam at Pearle Vision and picked out glasses and frames, they said their lab could not make her prescription lenses! The prescription was given to her by the doctor inside Pearle Vision who told us the prescription had not changed much. We asked why and asked if they could find another lab to make her prescription and they said they would have to check with a manager and would call back by Saturday, one week later! And they never called back!

My wife went to another local eyeglass place and they had no problem making the lenses, and at a much lower price than Pearle Vision. We will both NEVER go back to Pearle Vision because of their failure to help a long time customer and failure to call us back. If the other local provider had no problem making that prescription I am sure Pearle Vision could have gotten it done too if they only cared enough to do so.

I waited there for a while. He didn't even check the computer but was just standing next to the front desk away from the computer/kiosk he used. So, I asked him how long I needed to be waiting; he said he will give me a call and then asked me my phone number. Did he call me? No! I guess the VSP insurance website is still down only in that location. Today is Tuesday, July 24. What kind of service is this? Not able to focus and read clearly on computer screen or GPS while driving. I had to go very close to screen and read it from bottom part of lenses (just like if you have bifocal lenses).

So I went back to them to fix the problem. I wind up going twice. First time there was no responsible person there and ask to me to come back again. Second time waited more than one and half hour but the person had no understanding what I was talking about. Person told me that they cannot do anything and ask me to go back to my eye doctor. I provided them old and new prescription (with very negligible difference). With my old lenses I can see better than new one! I am very unhappy with the service my family has been provided at your Pearle Vision Glen Burnie, Md location with manager, Joe, and am filing this written complaint. From day one of getting my and my husbands glasses, they have not been correct. My husbands glasses are currently still at the store trying to get them fixed for the fourth time. Regarding my experience, I was sold into buying transition lens for reading, use on the computer, and driving for near and far sight vision.

From day one, which has been almost a year, I have not been able to read with them or read using the computer. I have only been able to use them to drive. I took them back, and explained the issue within the first week of having them. I have been back five times to get this corrected. I was told to come in this evening to have the lens measure to be cut correctly.

I was immediately asked several questions about why I was there. When I explained I was there to get measured for my glasses that have been fixed. He then told me that my original prescription was from two weeks ago. He didnt even have my information correct. When I tried to explain that I have been there, this being the fifth time, in almost a year, as they cant seem to fix my glasses correctly, manager, Jo, who I've been dealing with from day one kept asking me how old I was and then proceeded to tell me that my vision has gotten worse, and that he couldnt again fix my glasses without a new eye exam. I explained that I was there to fix the glasses to get the blue tint off then, that they added by mistake a year ago then and that I am only able to see the dr again for another eye exam when my year has been up, which I told them I wouldnt be coming back to them for, as I was not happy with the service I have been provided.

I spent almost $1,000 for glasses that have never been the correct prescription from the start, and since I havent been able to wear my glasses, my vision has now gotten worse. I was given nothing but attitude, because I expressed my displeasure with the service I've been given. Then, Jo told me, "Hey we were trying to do you a favor but now we cant help." He handed me my glasses and kicked me out of the store after I asked for his card to make a complaint.

A very unhappy customer. I will never use Pearle Vision again and am reporting this issue to my Health insurance, Blue Cross Blue Shield, State of Maryland. My family and friends will also never use you either. I sent this to their customer service email address info@madisons.com And got a bounce back email that the email address doesnt exist.

The customer service quality and the honesty of Pearle Vision staff shocked me. This is the branch located in Franklin Mall, TN. I went there to get new lens for my frame, which I ordered online. On the first visit, they were happily bending the frame to fit my face and they charged me over $600 for the lens. Two weeks later, I came back to pick up the glasses, the woman was not responsible, I can tell right away; she was hesitate to adjust the frame for me and telling me that if I need further adjustment I am welcome to come back anytime.

In fact, when I returned home I felt the glasses always falling down and surprisingly, now I also noted that the screws were not original; they have mismatch color compared to the frame; and they are too long that they protrude > 1 mm from the frame. Then, I decided to go back to the same store asking them to replace the screws; I was stunned that the gentleman was upset when he talked to me - in a defiant way - that is not his responsibility since he sent the frame out to fit the lens. Then I asked him, "So why don't you send the frame to that place to replace the screws since it is not my business to contact them. Even if they are not original, they must match the color and they should not protrude from the frames." He denied that request, and he asked me to contact the producers for that frame in Italy for the screws; then he offers to use a Sharpie to color the screws; I rejected his childish and unprofessional offer.

Then the lady to whom I met a few days ago showed up; I asked her to adjust the glasses for me since it kept falling on my nose; this time, her tone is different; she told me that I didn't buy the frame from them so they can't bend/adjust it since they are not responsible if it broke. So after all, they offer to cut the extended portions of the screws; and after that I noticed the frame has a scratch. Overall, I will not ever go to Pearle Vision in the future. The way they run a business is unacceptable.

They apologized for the mistake of not sending them to wherever but they offered me a nice cleaning kit. They were very apologetic. A few months ago I had a eye problem and needed sunglasses. I borrowed my husband's but they were too big on me. I stopped at Pearl Vision and the lady was so gracious and although I told her I did not buy the glasses there, she adjusted them with a cheerful attitude.

Today, I realized I might be due for a new eye exam and glasses. I went to the doctor's office at the Forum Shopping Center in Selma (where I went 2 years ago). She was busy so I decided to stop in at Pearl Vision and ask if they could adjust my glasses, that I bought there 2 years ago because one of the temples was bend. The "older" dark skinned man who was the only one there was - first, not friendly and welcoming. I greeted him and asked him if he could check to see if I was due for exam and glasses. He checked and told me, 'Yes'. I told him that I tried to make an appointment next door but the doctor was busy, so in the meantime, I told him of my dilemma of dropping my glasses against the car door and bending the temple. I told him I had purchased them there and asked if he could fix the temple. He looked at my glasses and said he didn't know if they could be fixed. He said he would see what he could do.

He stated as he begin to look at them that if he bends the temple, he might break them. I asked him not to try if he didn't think he could do it without breaking them. He kept going and said it wasn't him, it would be the glasses that would break since the temple was bent. I again asked him not to worry about it, I would see if someone else someplace else would feel more comfortable fixing the glasses. He said he was going to try and keep making comments. At one point saying, they didn't break and they are straight now. Although he fixed the glasses, his attitude, comments and NOT customer-focused lost that doctor next to Pearl Vision - Forum and Pearl Vision some business.

I was going to buy a pair of sunglasses and was going to get my eyeglasses from them because of what the lady had done 2 years ago and earlier in the year in fixing the borrowed sunglasses. I am sorry to say that I will be looking for a new eye doctor and a new eye care company. Mr. Bad Attitude, you just lost business for Pearl Vision.

They give your doctor 8 hours to respond. This is a law... I did not know any of this. My contacts were even back ordered for a week. In my case, they faxed my doctor's office at Pearle Vision in Lincoln, NE at the 66th and O location. Due to a transition of some sort happening at that location, Carmin, the regional manager, has admitted this, said she did not personally get the fax nor can it be found. Even though Opticontacts has verification that they did receive it. This location never closed down so not sure what kind of transition would cause no one to see a fax verification of a prescription.

Neither Opticontacts nor Pearle Vision will admit any wrong doing on their part... I'm just a victim of unfortunate circumstances they say. So I am out over $200 for contacts I can't use. This was my first time using Opticontacts and had ordered a 3 month supply. Won't ever do that again since the law is protecting the contact industry and the doctors and not the consumer.

They told me it would ship in 7-10 business days... THEY LIED. After 10 business days with no glasses in the mail (it was a Friday at the time), I called to check on the status of the shipping.

After being on hold for eternity, I finally got an answer, and not one I was happy with: IT HADN'T EVEN BEEN SHIPPED OUT YET! The person I spoke with said he wasn't sure what happened and that they would ship it out that day, and it should arrive by Wednesday of the following week. Fast forward to Wednesday, and it STILL had not arrived. I called again, only to be told "I will check on the shipping status and call you back." I NEVER received a call back that day. The following day, I called again, determined to get answers. I explained the situation, was again put on hold for a very, very long time, and then the manager came to the phone. The explanation? It STILL HAD NOT BEEN SHIPPED OUT, even after the man I spoke with almost a week earlier said they would ship it that Friday.

If my glasses arrive when they say they should, I should have them this Tuesday... but I'm not counting on it based on their record with me. I have been making do with my BROKEN glasses for almost a month at this point. I am ready for this transaction to be DONE with Pearle Vision so I NEVER HAVE TO DO BUSINESS WITH THEM EVER AGAIN! - a very angry customer

Took 9 weeks and 9 trips back and forth to finally get my glasses in the correct prescription and in the correct frame. I calculated I spent over 15 hrs of my time and drive over 270 miles. Did I mention the glasses were over $400 (after insurance discounts, etc.)? Wrong frame, glasses made wrong, told to pick them up when they weren't ready, second eye exam to confirm glasses made wrong, etc. I've used Pearle for many years - first bad experience. The really sad part? The store manager never returned my call, nor did corporate customer service respond to the email I sent after indicating they'd "respond in 3 business days". DO NOT GO HERE!!!

Check out the prices of their frames, then google the manufacturer's item number. My frames were $309 before insurance and $250 after. Unfortunately, I Googled some online prices after my purchase. Average price of the identical frames, and most offered free shipping- $122. My eyeglass insurance coverage is every two years. My neighborhood PV went franchise a year ago unbeknownst to me. Like others have said, once you plunk down your money, even if your glasses haven't shipped to the lab yet, the sale is final! Furthermore, 100% payment is due before your order is submitted. The following day I went back to assure there wasn't a price error. Not only was there no error, the associate sounded like a broken record; "we don't set pricing, the franchise does". She parroted that line at least five times.

Judging by what others have said about bad customer service and staff attitudes, I can only surmise rude service is part of their new employee orientation program! I believe in capitalism, but a 150% markup is over-the-top for even the most greedy of eyeglass hucksters. Don't assume your neighborhood Pearle Vision is actually corporate Pearle Vision, as a franchise is in name only. There are benefits of going to a brick and mortar store opposed to guessing how the frames will look and feel when you buy online, but at what cost! Understand this has nothing to do with the optometrist at the stores, this is strictly the eyeglass sales (front of the house). You would be best to ask if they are a franchise as soon as you walk in. I'd advise extreme caution if they are. After 22 years as a loyal customer, I will never go back.

I've been receiving notices in the mail regarding an upcoming appointment that I did not make. So I called Pearle Vision on Louise Avenue to make sure the appointment would be cancelled. The lady told me that this was made a year ago when my husband was in there. I explain to the lady that my husband was just in there in January and was wondering why the record had not been updated. She said it was beyond her control and she had nothing to do with it. I asked her if the record was updated. She said she didn't know, it wasn't her responsibility, it's been taken care of and then hung up on me. I can't believe she hung up on me!!! I spent between $800 and $1,000 a year at Pearle Vision and I expect to be treated respectfully. I did call the doctor and explain the situation to her and although she was kind she really did not seem too concerned about how I was treated.

If you want to be treated badly, show no respect and hung up on, go to Pearle Vision on Louise. As for me and my family we will no longer go there. They just lost good customers. And I plan on telling whoever I can that Pearle Vision is a rude snotty bad place to go. Exceedingly bad customer serviced and they have some young girl being a snot and rude and hang up on me is unacceptable. This I can hardly believe as being a satisfied customer for nearly 11 years and purchasing my glasses and lenses here for the last 11 years (total of nearly 3600 euros!!) It is an absolute disgrace that they dare charge me this money! I paid it and quickly told the person I will never in my life ever buy anything by PEARLE again. This person simply nodded and said (''OK"!!!) I guess these people need to understand what customers mean to them! A very disappointed customer.

Dissatisfied with overall experience. I need to start off by saying I have been to this Pearle Vision location before and have not had any issues. I had primarily dealt with the same person on each occasion, but he has since left and since his departure, the customer service has completely gone downhill. In the past, I have had my glasses in as fast as 6 days. My appointment was on 1/3/2017. I picked out my frames and lenses (I do not have a complicated prescription) and my total after insurance came to $242.00. The next day I happened to look online for the same frames and found them for $67.00 cheaper. The prescription lenses were also going to be considerably cheaper as well.

I immediately called Pearle Vision to cancel my order. Pearle Vision informed me that although my order had not gone out to the lab yet, they would not issue a refund. Because they are a franchise, it states on their receipt that "the glasses are made specifically for you, therefore we do not offer any refunds." However, my glasses hadn't gone off to the lab yet. I contacted Pearle Vision's Customer Service line to see if they could be of assistance. Unfortunately, they were not able to get the store to issue a refund, even though they too felt the store was not providing good customer service.

On 1/24/17, I contacted the store to inquire about my glasses. They stated that the lab was putting in the lenses and it should be any day now. It is now 2/2/17 and I still do not have my glasses. I again contacted the Customer Service line to have them contact the store. The store informed Rebekah from Customer Service, that my "Safety Goggles" were not ready yet. I did not order "safety goggles!" The lab has to now make new lenses. Customer Service is working on getting me a discount for the error.

I recently had an appointment at Pearle Vision in Birmingham, AL on August 9, 2016 for an eye exam, contact lens fitting and to purchase new glasses. I have EyeMed for vision insurance. So, I thought this should all go pretty smoothly. Let me start by saying that the eye doctor was awesome! She did a great job and also had great customer service skills. Some of the other employees were very rude and were also rude to one of their own co-worker (Paula).

My biggest issue was that I paid almost $400 for an eye exam, contact fitting and glasses. I have a daughter in college and I am single. So, I work very hard for my money and want to know where it's going. Especially when it's a fairly large purchase such as this. The manager (who I dealt with, mostly) did not explain ANYTHING about what I was purchasing, co-pays and what portion my insurance covered. Yet, they were happy to take my money! I did not realize after I paid they had not given me a receipt. So, when I go to pick up my glasses I have zero proof of payment.

I went into the office the following week to pick up my glasses and to see the doctor. I asked for a itemized receipt for my records. The receptionist acted very put out that I would be asking for such a thing. She then goes to the manager to tell him that I am requesting this information to see a an exact breakdown of what I paid for. I am walking out with the eye doctor to see and hear the receptionist and store manager openly talking about me by name. This was quite awkward for myself and the eye doctor. I did not say anything being I was quite taken back by such unprofessional behavior.

When I then Sat down with the manager to go over my bill, I see that I paid an extra $100 plus dollars for the lens in my glasses. I was not given any options to choose from. When I asked, he stated that is "normally what everyone chooses". So, again this made me feel they were all about the sale and not the customer. He was very rude and impatient when explaining my bill. I also felt very rushed. So much so that when I received my glasses from them they did not even do a fitting to be sure they worked well for me and fit correctly. Anywhere else I have ever been they had me try on the glasses and make sure that I am satisfied with my purchase.

And to top it off I chose a D&G pair of glasses and also received a broken case for my glasses to go in. You would think if they were name brand and $200 they would be sure the smallest thing down to the case was functional. Instead I had to go buy my own case. All in all it was a bad experience and I did not feel valued as a customer. I will not be using Pearle Vision in the future. I should have went with my original plan and went with their competitor.

I ordered some glasses and asked for Transitions lenses. These lenses weren't described to me, nor was I asked any other questions about them. The glasses come in so I go to pick them up and get in my vehicle. The lenses don't transition to dark. I go back in the store and a worker says they don't darken in vehicles as the windshield blocks UVA and UVB rays. I know people who have Transitions that darken in a vehicle but I wasn't given an option by the worker who reacted in a patronizing manner when I said that the lack of darkening in a vehicle didn't make sense. I was angry and the store was busy so being the better person, I decided I would go send an email.

So I did and didn't hear back after 5 days so I called the toll-free customer service number and explained I wanted regular lenses and the money back that I wasted on these useless lenses. I waited 3 days after this phone call where it was explained the store manager should call within 3 business days. He didn't so I called customer service again. I was told this would now get escalated to the regional manager. In the 12 days that have passed since the complaint supposedly went to the regional manager, I haven't heard.

I did call the store and was told I could get an upgrade to the Transitions lenses that do darken in a car - didn't know Pearle Vision peddled these lenses until then. It was never offered to me as an option - and they could be upgraded free of charge but if I have regular lenses put in, I can't have a refund as they are out the money by having the Transitions put in the glasses. What about the money I'm out by buying a feature that doesn't work how I expected it to? Since no one will call me back from Pearle Vision, that question will likely never get answered. I am debating between taking them up on upgrading the lenses or doing a chargeback on my credit card and going somewhere customers are valued to get my glasses. The only thing I can say is my 1st and only experience with Pearle Vision will be my last.

My wife and I went to Pearle Vision on Legacy Dr in Frisco, TX, so I could purchase a pair of single vision glasses (Frames & Lenses) while taking advantage of Superior Vision insurance. I chose a pair of frames (Armani, numbers on tag: OAX1017, 6083 Matte Brown, 5417 MAN) priced at $189.99. Since my Superior Vision Insurance covers Plastic lenses in full, I requested plastic lenses. The saleswoman there told me that these frames can only be fitted with polycarbonate lenses, and she quoted me a price of $257 (after my $140 frame benefit!).

I reminded her that I wanted plastic lenses since my insurance covers them in full. Again, she told me I could only get polycarbonate. This even though my prescription is no more than -1.25 in either eye and the cylinder and axis measurements do not warrant polycarbonate. She insisted that there was no other way to go than to get polycarbonate (she even tried to tell me this was due to some "rimless" feature, even though it is clear that the frames are neither rimless or semi rimless).

Annoyed, I left the store and returned the next day to ask a different salesperson if I could get plastic lenses for the same frames. After telling him my prescription, he saw no problem with plastic lenses. I then told him that I had no intention of buying them - I just wanted to confirm my suspicion that the saleswoman the day before was trying to rip me off. As it turns out, I was told that the saleswoman is actually the Store Manager, so she should have known better than to lie to a customer.

Fortunately, I'm an engineer so I do my homework beforehand and buy according to the facts that make sense to me. I just really feel sorry for those people who get persuaded by the "timeshare" type of sales pitch this woman gave me. It is totally unethical to lie to a customer about their options. I recommend avoiding Pearle Vision at all cost (particularly this one). I ended up going to Costco where I got great frames and plastic lenses (fully covered by my insurance) with nice authentic customer service.

I went in there and she said that they don't have the records and the store owner has left the country to Canada. She looked at the glasses and said would talk to the manager the next day. She took the glasses and read the prescription on the glasses and said they were 15 degrees off from what the prescription said they should be. I asked for her to put that in writing and you can probably guess she refused. I asked if she had a number for a regional manager because Edgar ** would not answer my calls. She said he is in Florida for meetings. At this point I have called customer service 5 times and have lost count of how many messages I have left Edgar ** but it is close to 8. I bought a $48 Pearle Vision Groupon. I thought it was a great deal! It included a comprehensive eye exam plus $200 allowance towards eyeglasses (frame & lenses). I really just needed glasses for reading but wanted a good brand. I've been using a pair of Kate Spade over the counter reading glasses. The frame selections are not as good as LensCrafters, but I did find a pair of Ray-Ban frame for $200.

I figured, it would be an additional $50 to $100 for a generic, single-vision reading lenses based on a comparison price chart that I saw online for Pearle Vision. I was surprised when I was told I owe an additional $294. To be certain, I said..."minus $200 for the Groupon allowance, correct?" I was told no, that I owe an additional $294 after the $200 allowance. I couldn't believe my ears, so I said, "are you saying that a simple, single-vision reading lenses cost almost $300? That is ridiculous!" in which she responded that she would give me an additional 20% discount.

I have a marketing degree and it doesn't take a marketing degree to realize that this is a deceptive marketing practice. $294 is probably what I would have paid in total elsewhere without buying the $48 Groupon and getting a 'deceptive $200 allowance towards glasses'. The fact that she was quick to offer an additional 20% discount so easily just made me even more uneasy. The counter lady wasn't happy when I said "no thank you... I will not pay $294 additional because I do not think it really is worth that much money. Would you please just give me the result of my eye exam and this transaction is over?" She gave me such a dirty look after that. Then I walked out the door.

I went to LensCrafters afterwards to compare prices. The exact Ray-Ban frame was only $115. Single-vision lenses for reading was $129. That is a total of $244. So let's assume these are the same prices at Pearle Vision, so with that Groupon deal, I really just owed an additional $44 plus taxes. I ended up not buying at LensCrafters also because I was just dismayed with the whole experience.

I went to Costco that day and asked the optical people for pricing. When I told them my experience at Pearle Vision, they weren't surprised. One of the employees said that she has a friend that works for an optometrist. She told her that they are at liberty to mark up the pricing for whatever they want. There are no rules.

After speaking with the manager in the background, she returned to speak with me. She said they could make the glasses single vision lenses (no progressives). She said my eyes really hadn't changed that much and I wouldn't even notice the difference. I believe this since I do not have difficulty seeing at a distance with my current glasses and do not need glasses to read. The lady on the phone said my other choice was to pay more for premium progressives, but if those did not work, I would still not get a refund.

Ditto to every review I've read! Had an okay exam experience. Not great but okay. Waited 15 minutes while I looked at frames. No one seemed interested in helping me. Finally a young woman from the optometry side came to apologize for the delay. All this while 4 'service' people tried on glasses in mirrors and joked with each other and 2 other customers in the store. I finally interrupted one of them to let her know I would go elsewhere. She stared at me blankly. This was in Branson, Mo.

The following Saturday I was in Springfield, MO so I stopped in the store there. I didn't have my paper script but I had my husband text me the script. The young lady said she couldn't use it. I asked if I could email it to them... No, of course. There was no one else in the store!! I went next door to Eyeglass World, which was busy, got assistance and ordered two pairs of glasses. So very sad and disappointing.

Every pair practically disintegrated because they were constructed from flimsy metal. The "scratch proofing" was a deception because I can barely see through them through the scratches. They are now held together by a combination of twine and rubber bands (seriously).

I purchased a pair of glasses with premium lenses (discounted frame, bifocal lenses, transition, with glare and scratch guard coating) 11 mos ago to the tune $618.47. This reflected a 30% "special promotional discount" so full price would have been $900+. My lenses are showing white flecks, the lenses are totally scratched but unevenly so. It looks as if the coatings are coming off and scratch guard seems to be nonexistent. I visited store to inquire if they would stand behind their product especially as these glasses are only 10.5 months old. I was told their warranty covers only 50% and they were going to charge me $357+ to replace these lenses. This is clearly more than 50% of original price which included the frames. They indicated that the warranty price is based on List Price NOT actual purchase price.

My complaint is that they do not seem to stand behind their product, their warranty is not very good, nor is the little "trick" of charging list price replacement cost versus actual original cost properly disclosed. I do not even want to go into their pricing structure or service (delivery of my glasses took more than three weeks) but we are talking about a rather expensive consumer expenditure and charging more than 50% of actual cost for a repair that is most likely due to underlying product defects - is outrageous. I or any other consumer would not be able to determine if they actually received scratch guard or any of the other coatings that they are being charged for. Thus it is very disturbing when it appears that those either are absent or not performing. I get much better service from my Board certified Optometrist and same or better prices with much less gimmicks. I have to get new glasses at least once every year - but I do not plan on returning to Pearle Vision.

I have never in my life had an issue with getting a pair of glasses made until I walked into the Naperville Pearle Vision. After remaking my glasses (only because my insurance paid for it) I still could not read print on a page of paper without moving like a bobblehead. It was then that the manager and now optometrist discovered that the lenses they gave me really were not what I asked for. Good news. They could remake them but only if I paid because my insurance was tapped out. The $350 after insurance was not enough to compensate for the fact that everyone else in the store except me needed their attention.

They scour the store for 20 minutes and finally ask if they can replace the frame with another. And since they can't find the frame, they have to use another without the replacement cost that was quoted me. It's twenty dollars more so I agree.

The tech put the lenses in the new frames and get a little miffed that the frames don't fit to my daughters liking but she agrees to try them for a while. We go outside and I take the glasses and look at them. The lenses are even a close fit to the frames and there are huge spaces. Now I'm furious and go back inside and ask what kind of trick are you trying pull. I get a refund and give the staff a few choice words about their incompetence. Last Saturday I went into Pearle Vision at Cloverdale Mall in Etobicoke. I needed to purchase new lenses. I gave the girl my prescription and asked the cost of purchasing new lenses for the frames I had. She took the prescription, barely looked at it and stated point blankly "$400.00." I asked if she was kidding and she stated no. She also told me if I purchase new frames the cost would be cheaper. I explained that these frames were less than two years old and could not afford to buy lenses and frames. She abruptly said "well that is the cost." I took my prescription and walked out. I then went to two other optical stores and was given a purchase price for lenses from $268.00-284.00.

This past Wednesday I called Pearle Vision head office customer service to inquire about the excessive cost of lenses. I asked customer service why their lenses are nearly double that of other optical places. The customer service person I was speaking with could not account for the cost, saying well maybe they were pricing wrong or maybe I didn't understand what the sales girl or she didn't understand what I wanted. He seemed to be making up excuses. He then finally told me that the stores can set their own prices for lenses and that this store must have felt they needed to charge $400.00. I said "how can the owners of this company allow that kind of pricing buy its stores?" I was told that's how it is. I proceeded to tell him that I would never go into another Pearle Vision store and will not recommend them. I also told him I would be posting my complaint here and his comments. He said "go ahead."

It is obvious they do not care about good customer service. Pearle Vision is in it for profit only. I find it very disturbing that a large company like this needs to price gouge customers. There is no reason for this kind of pricing. This is not the first time I have questioned some of the things Pearle Vision does. This includes their so call 50% deals, buy one get one free. While waiting for the replacement lens 10 days, I noticed there were chips on the outer edges of both lenses. This time I called and again after much debate and being told there was no chips, she agreed to order a new left lens (keep in mind she hasn't even seen the chips). Another 5 or so days go by. I get the call both lenses are in...so off I go. Once I get there, she proceeds to tell me there is no chip, so I show her and get told it's not her fault, it's the manufacturer and it's not a defect so she's doing me a huge favor by replacing them. The manufacturer is Essilor (I've had their products before and never had an issue).

Fast forward approx. 4 weeks lo and behold there is another chip, this time just the left lens. I called the store made a time when the owner would be there, got there and she once again can't see the chip, once again I point it out. She now doesn't want to do business with me, wants the glasses back. I am being discriminated against because I refuse to take the horrible service and agree to a less-than-perfect product and because even though I paid a majority of the cost out of pocket, the small remaining balance is being covered by ODSP and she is still waiting for their payment. Pearle Vision baited me with their '2 for 1 Sale'. Unfortunately, I took the bait.... The first hint that I had made a poor choice came once they had completed the examination of my eyes. The cost was $50 above what our province pays for eye exams. I was only told about the extra charge once the exam had been completed. I later called several opticians to find out if indeed this was common practice... it's not. There are a large number of opticians in British Columbia that do not charge more than our province allots for eye exams. After the examination I proceeded to choose my new eyeglasses. The frames I choose were not a good fit for me. I returned to Pearle Vision with both pair of glasses on 3 occasions in failed attempts to get them to fit properly. Both pairs have the annoying habit of literally slipping off my face.

I had my glasses upgraded with Transitions. The lens get darker with sunlight. I asked for a green tint but was told by the salesperson that the only colors available were grey or brown. I was assured grey would be a good choice... it wasn't. At the time it seemed to me that grey would not be a good choice. I was right. The glasses were fitted with progressive bifocals. I have worn progressive bifocals before. These new glasses have turned out to be the worst progressive bifocals I have ever owned. I constantly adjust the eyeglasses on my face to use them properly. One pair sits too high, the other too low.

Considering that I paid over $800 + an additional $50 for the eye exam... these eyeglasses certainly were not a bargain. Six months ago I gave up on both pairs, and started reusing my old reliable eyewear. Because it has now been 2 years since my last exam, Pearle Vision has been sending nonstop reminders for me come in to get an eye exam. I have NO intention of ever going to Pearle Vision for another set of eyeglasses at any price.

They found a frame that would fit my lenses which were super expensive, ultra-thin polarized with progressive lens and got darker automatically in the sun. Well I waited, they told me they had to cut my lenses out and might scratch around the screw holes. Well I was desperate and said "ok go ahead". When I got my glasses back after repair both lenses were so badly scratched that when I looked through them everything was foggy. Not just around the screws but across both lenses. Then I saw the small disclaimer on the wall, they accept NO RESPONSIBILITY for damages during repairs.

It appears that they cannot afford a simple roll of scotch tape. If they had put scotch tape across the lenses before repair the scotch tape would have protected the plastic. But no that would have been too much trouble for them. The result is that now I have to buy glasses which are costing me $850 elsewhere. I will never go back there again.

She simply just gives me the clear lens glasses; not seeing how they fit on me or anything and tells me she'll call me when the sunglasses come in. Well again another almost two weeks go by with no call so I decide to go in because after five weeks they must be ready now. The sunglasses are ready (thanks for not calling) but when I put them on it's immediately evident that the prescription is different than the first pair. The lady takes them into the back room to see if see can fix them - what she's going to do to change the prescription is beyond me. She comes back and asks me to try them again and again when I look through them I get a slight double vision issue. She tells me to try them because me eyes just have to get used to them - really?

So I take them and wear them while driving to my next errand but they are so off that they make me sick to my stomach so I stop using them until I can go back. I return to the store the next week and tell a different lady what's going on and she checks the glasses out in a machine and tells me they're exactly what my prescription is so she then checks the clear lens pair and discovers that those glasses are out so the two prescriptions don't match. She orders new lenses and tells me she'll call me when they're in so they can replace them. I do get a call from her, to my surprise, so I go in and they take an hour replacing the lenses to fit my frames.

So now both glasses are really, really close that they're usable however I get home and look in the mirror and the frames that had the lenses replaced are sitting badly on my face, and when I take them off and sit them on a flat counter, the arm on one side sits a 1/4" off the counter so the one side will sit higher on my face which looks real stupid. So now I have to go back for the fifth time to get these things fixed. I wish I could tell them to just take their glasses back and refund my money so I can go elsewhere as I'm tired of dealing with these people.

I was told that my glasses might be too weak to insert the new lenses. The woman said she wanted to take the glasses in a back room to clean them. 15-20 minutes later she returned with my very warm glasses. After a few hours my nose was very sore from my out of shape glasses, which had never happened before. I then remembered that similar actions had taken place the last time I had been there. At that time the girl took my frames in the back room and came back with cracked frames. I returned to the store the next day and cancelled my order. I will never go to another place that gives commissions on frames or pressures me to buy new ones. I took my prescription and went elsewhere. I was very happy with the doctor who examined my eyes.

Text from the letter sent to my insurance's Complaints and Appeals Department: I am filing a complaint against the Pearle Vision store in Glassboro, NJ located in the Doubletree Mall complex. I found this facility via your member website. First let me begin by saying that the doctor I saw on site, **, was fine. She was attentive and thorough. She even attempted to try a new prescription for me, offering to switch me back to my old prescription if the current one does not work for me (it does not).

However, the owners/managers of the establishment are the epitome of horrendous customer service and questionable, possibly fraudulent behavior. First, they could not find my file when I went to pick up my contacts. After searching for quite a while for my file, the gentleman accused me of having already "picked them up last Saturday". I was infuriated at the accusation but tried calmly to explain that I was traveling and out of town last week (Easter weekend). He insisted that I had picked them up. I had picked up one box the box that I paid for myself. I paid an additional $25.00 for that box. That box was available one week after my visit. When I went to pick up that box, the woman manager/owner informed me that she would submit a claim to my insurance to cover the rest of my contacts to be ordered.

Interestingly, when I contacted my insurance about this situation, the representative informed me that said contacts were actually previously charged to my insurance on the day of my original eye exam. The store was supposed to wait, per the doctors orders, to have my approval about the new prescription. In their hurry to get my insurance benefit they ordered it in advance. Additionally, I brought in my own frames to the store to be fitted. The male owner became quite upset that I had not purchased those glasses from him. He then went on to say that it was his own fault for allowing customers to take pictures of frames so that they could order them online. He refused to fit me for my lenses.

At this moment, my insurance has paid for contacts that I have not receive. I am left with no contacts, no glasses, and a prescription that does not work for me I am not able to read with this current prescription. The doctor had assured me that she would switch me back to my original prescription if I had any problems with the new. I want my old prescription renewed, for both contacts and glasses, as promised by the doctor. [The facility only has one line to reach the doctor. I have left several messages for the doctor, but those messages have been left with the owners. I highly doubt the doctor has received my messages]. I also want the Pearle Vision store in question to refund my insurance the $100 benefit for contacts that I did not receive. I would also recommend that this location NOT be highlighted on anyone's website. I will be filing a complaint with consumer affairs.

Pearle Vision at Lynnhaven Mall in Virginia Beach, VA - I'm not even sure how to begin to describe how much of a HUGE hassle it has been trying to get my glasses. I've been there 4 times (so far), seen the doctor twice and now have to wait another 5 days just to find out where my lenses are because they don't know. THEN wait at least another 1-2 weeks to have them put in the frames. If they try to screw me over again on Tuesday I will ask for all my money back and never return.

The first pair were progressive lenses which I've never worn before and using the computer in them was not working for me. I was getting headaches and eye strain. I called back the next morning to say they were not working for me the way I need to use the computer (following scrolling text in the bottom left corner while staying focused on the middle of the screen is just too difficult). I saw the doctor again (who was wonderful, kind, professional and really listened to my concerns btw), she gave me a new Rx for computer glasses, and gave me one on paper for long distance to hold onto until I could afford to buy a second pair. (In the meantime I would need to just use my now 2 yr old single vision Rx to do anything beyond arms length or read anything up close.)

I have very strong astigmatism & glasses are not cheap for me. For the retail part I dealt with ** for the initial visit and had to endure all of the high pressure sales and her talking me into a couple of things I now wonder if I even really needed. Lucky me, I got ** again for this new Rx.

This time I had my husband with me getting his first pair. Even though I said no to some of her up sales, she ignored me and kept talking to him as if I wasn't there. Getting the computer lenses was $50 cheaper so I asked for the credit to go towards his glasses. Instead of answering me she said "We'll go ahead and replace your glasses but we won't charge you." I let her talk until she was done with her sales pitch and told us how much his glasses were. I asked “Is that with the $50 credit applied?" She repeats the above. I tell her she's not answering me.

She FINALLY says they will not give the $50 back. I say "So you're going to charge me $50 for a pair of glasses I had for less than 24 hours? I want to speak to the manager." Then she offers to give me a $50 credit towards a future purchase. I explain “I AM making a new purchase right now for my husband's glasses”. She again says “they cannot”, I again ask for the manager. Who I am told is **.

** spoke to ** as if I was not there saying "She wants her money back but I told her we don't do that." I interrupt and say "No, actually I asked if the $50 credit could go towards my husband’s glasses which we are buying right now." Then she jumps in and says "I told her we can't do that but I'd give her a credit on a future purchase!" I told ** "I AM making a new purchase right now" and ** says "Sure we can do that for you, that's not a problem." and takes care of it.

By the end of the day of wearing the new glasses I realized it was best I get used to the progressive lenses the doctor wanted me to have in the first place and just use my old glasses for the computer. It just wasn't enough of an improvement to justify spending so much money on new ones that I would only use on the computer. I called that same evening, spoke to ** the manager and explained I would either like the progressives back or to just not get new glasses. He said I had 30 days to return them, he would make a note on my file that we talked that day and if I still wanted to get the progressives by the end of the week they would take care of it.

This brings me to my visit today to return these glasses. ** was not in, I got ** . She said they would not change my glasses again. I had to pay full price because they already replaced them once. I told her “I talked to ** and he said they would and he put a note on my file”. She walked away to talk to someone. She came back and said she sees the note but they don't know where the lenses are so they would call me in a few days. Saying either way I had to pay 50% of the total cost and if they can't find the progressive lenses they already made then I had to pay all over again at full price. I told her 'no' because it's not my fault if they lost or destroyed the lenses. I called on the same day and they should have put them aside then. I told her I wanted to speak to **. She said “he wasn't the manager anymore and he was out until Tuesday.

So I asked who the new manager was because I want to speak to them now. She said "The new owner is the new manager." I said "What's their name?" she said "He isn't here now but I just told you." I said "No, you didn't tell me." She said "I told you, the new doctor is the new manager." I said "No, you told me the new owner was the new manager and you STILL haven't told me their name yet." No one ever told me the new manager's name. I left and will return when ** is in on Tuesday, I will update this review then.

I called today to speak to the Dr to find out that he will only honor the credit for a purchase of glasses. That is not what I was told by his staff. The staff working there are very nice, no problem there, but the guy running the store has no manners and is totally unprofessional. He was condescending and was talking down at me when I asked him to honor the agreement. He asked me to pay an extra 75.00 for him to fit my contact lenses, a price never discussed on my initial visit.

I have an email stating that I have 100.00 credit that I or my girlfriend can use as we please. I wanted to purchase contact lenses with that credit but he refused until I pay the 75.00 fitting fee. That is such poor and unprofessional service. I was like great I still want to shop around. Stopped in the other Pearle store got the frames and sat for a cost. Well the cost was way more the other store price the same lens etc. $$$ more than the other store! Really! I said no I would not pay the price and why was it so much more than the other store and I had the quote from the other store! "Well we're independent. We can charge our own price."

That's news to me. I would expect if I go 9 miles away I would get the same price. I figure eyeglasses are kinds under the medical umbrella (yes/no). To end the store then goes we can match their price for you. "Hey!, why didn't you just do that anyway" instead you were going to see if I pay your inflated cost. Beware if shopping at Pearle Vision, go to 3 stores at least and tell them to price match! What a true rip-off.

I went back to Pearle and was told that there was a one-year warranty but should consider replacing the lens just before the warranty expires 'just in case there would be additional scratches'. Thus, I had the lenses replaced in December 2014. Just three weeks after replacement I noticed a 1-inch long scratch on the left lens again. The size and visibility of the scratch were truly shocking. Thing is, I can't remember anything bad happening to these glasses. I went back to Pearle and was told that I must have dropped them. They offered to replace the lens for a charge.

For the background, I worn glasses for 28 years. I kept my previous glasses for over 10 years. Never had any scratch on any glasses for 27 years. And now 2 scratches in 8 months? They are made of polycarbonate, they tell me, not as scratch-resistant as glass, which is what my old glasses are made of. What can I say, except that I won't ever buy from Pearle Vision again? Maybe Walmart is better? Better yet, stick to my old glasses, I guess?

I selected a pair of "golden taupe" frames from their mid/lower priced selection after trying on several. I wear progressive lenses, so I realize they cost more than single vision lenses. They charged $264.50 per lens, but were running a "50% off lenses" special. Total cost was $443.45. When I went to get them, the frames were silver and the vision blurry. They said that was the exact pair of frames I had tried on, and even though the receipt said "golden taupe" it was correct.

I was very upset about the frames and the lenses, not to mention realizing that possibly hundreds of people had tried on those exact frames and they didn't order new ones. They did another eye exam and supposedly checked the lenses and they said it was correct. They told me because they were a little smaller than my current glasses, I just need to get used to them. I am angry with myself for not canceling and demanding a refund. They have always been blurry and are the WORST glasses I've worn in my life.

She didn’t know which one was it and kept looking through their solutions. I mentioned the one I used was a little bottle with a thicker solution so she offered eye drops. I told her that wasn’t what we needed so she handed one little bottle that and told me she finally found it. We had the pre eye exam and she asked me to put my contact back on. I did and suddenly I felt my eye burning, it stung so bad. She ran to the doctor and came back saying she gave me the wrong solution and I should rinse my eye. The doctor took me to the exam room and nonchalantly told me I had a chemical burn in my eye and it will lead to an infection.

I asked “How come? I was given that and what could I do know since I couldn’t put my lens back on and I cannot see without it?” She gave me some lubricant drops and told me to apply them like crazy and due to the chemical burn she was unable to check me at the moment. Nobody was able to help or say anything else. I called customer service, which couldn’t care less about what we had to say. We told them this was a health issue and could lead into a legal matter and they hung up on us. I have bifocals, so I got the ones without the lines, then I got the transitional lenses that darken in the sun. By this time the whole thing was up to 500 bucks. Then they asked if I wanted scratch protection coating? I asked how much, "100 bucks". Seems like everything they added was "100 bucks"! So I declined on the coating. I've had these glasses less than a year and I can't even see out of the lenses. It's like looking through a fog.

Now you can't get glass lenses anymore. Don't you think the scratch proofing would be thrown in for nothing? I mean common! You can't clean the damn things without scratching them. I don't know if the plastic they use is sub standard or what. But seems to me I've never had a pair of glasses cost so much and I definitely never had them scratch this as bad as this scratch. I bought a new frame and lenses last year. I have been back to Pearle Vision several times since. Firstly I couldn't see clearly. So initially i told them my base curve probably shouldn't be put in a plastic frame. Secondly they say it's fine, i don't know why not. So i did. Glasses were ready for pickup. Tried them on wavy, couldn't see defined. So they told me I may need to get used to the new prescription which was barely different from my old prescription and I went on my way and took them home. I returned shortly thereafter with a complaint that not only could I not see clearly out of these lenses but that the Crizal AR coating was faulty and my glasses wouldn't clean. Then at that time they proceeded to tell me I needed to get another exam so I did even though the eye exam had nothing to do with the issue at hand.

My eye exam proved to be fine. And my eyes barely changed, with that said they ordered new lenses. Shortly thereafter I began having problems with the lenses. Once more, they wouldn't clean again and I wasn't seeing clearly and then took them for a second opinion to another eye clinic. I had discovered before they had gone to the second eye clinic that the top of the lenses were popping out of my frame. Their repair person at the new eye clinic said that it was because they had cut my lenses incorrect and that the base curve was wrong and that's why they were continuing to pop out at the top of my frame. by this time I am completely frustrated because my trip is 45 minutes up and back to Pearle Vision. so now today I am heading back up once again to see if we can rectify the issues with my poorly constructed and advised lenses and frames.

She had no idea where my frames were. I went down there and asked her if she lost them and she was clueless.

Sept 13th I got a call from ** stating that she found the lenses in a bin and apologizing for all the confusion and that it was because of the last manager. She stated that they want me to go to the Aventura location to get my glasses. I told her I bought my glasses at Oakwood and paid for the glasses at Oakwood therefore I am not going down there. Sept 17th I received a call from the representative that sold me the glasses and she kept apologizing over and over again. She informed me that I would have to call Aventura and speak to the manager **.

Sept 19th I spoke with ** and he informed me that he would not give me my money back or the frames and that I could come down to Aventura Pearle Vision and he will make sure the glasses are right. I informed him that I can't and that I did business with the Oakwood Plaza Pearle Vision and should not have to go down to the location. I asked him for the frames back and my money he stated no. He will not give me my frames or my money back.

Pearle Vision on Brodie Lane in Sunset Valley - DO NOT BUY FROM THIS STORE, FROM PEARLE VISION OR ANY OAKLEY PRODUCT! I bought some Oakley sunglasses about 2.5 years ago. Even under insurance, I paid over $250. Now, the glasses have a defect in the lenses where it is getting cloudy and growing. When I took it into the store, I was told this was common for Oakley at the time. Even though this is a KNOWN issue and the clerk told me that this is common for Oakley at that time, they are refusing to make this right. Matt at the store told me they are going to do nothing for me. So, here I am, stuck with defective glasses that were in no way cheap and have to resort to giving a bad review, reporting them to the Better Business Bureau and exploring what other options I have to get my glasses repaired, be it legal or something else. So, you can buy there if you want, but do not be surprised when you fail to get a quality product and can get no help from the store. You might as well give them your money and walk away with nothing. CAVEAT EMPTOR, BUYER BEWARE!

I went for my second annual checkup and advised the dr. that I felt I could not read close as well as before. I had all my tests and waited for my contact lenses to come in. I wore them and seemed to have even more problems. I tried to be fair and give them a chance as I was advised. When I looked at prescription, I found that they were lower in strength than my old lenses. I went back and was told my Dr. had moved on but the receptionist told me that she would speak to another dr. in the back room. This Dr. never appeared. I was given a script for my old lens strength by this doctor. I feel like I might as well have not even gone and I am not sure that these are right anymore. I went back and spoke to a man that assured me that this was an oversight and his manager (I think Cathy?) would contact me in a couple days to resolve it. I never received a call and when I returned and told him. He was surprised but said little and then disappeared. I asked for my records and it took almost 45 minutes going back and forth to the backroom with my individual papers to get them.

This Pearle Vision Store is located in a strip mall off of Melody Drive in Northglenn, CO. I had my first experience with the staff at this location almost 3 years ago with a Groupon Coupon. I had the pleasure at that time to receive incredible service from Esther & the Pearle Vision team. I was so impressed by Esther's product knowledge & expertise during my first "discounted visit" that I decided to returned for new glasses this week. I can't explain the joy purchasing a new pair of glasses can be at Northglenn Pearle Vision. I was a walk-in to the location (again after 3 years). Esther walks over to welcome me to the store (as she does all her clientele), looks at me & says "I remember you, you wrote a nice review of the store a few years back!" & gives me a huge hug. We discussed the importance of customer service, repeat business & her appreciation that I was now "Northglenn Pearle Vision's regular customer!"

Esther worked her magic again at this visit & assisted me with finding fun, practical, affordable eye wear! I love the Northglenn Pearle Vision location's newest addition - Dr. Paul **. His exam was a thorough analysis; he spent time with me as a patient, detected some scarring on my right eye (due to an old injury) that no other ophthalmologist has ever recognized or mentioned & he was genuine. I have had that injury since I was 19 years old. Susan & Chris part of the Northglenn Pearle Vision team were welcoming, helped me with the insurance benefits & quite competent! I watched other customers as they entered the location or called in. Everyone was personally greeted, phones were answered on the second ring and customers were smiling. I can honestly state I will only shop for eye glasses at Northglenn Pearle Vision, 10669 Melody Drive, Northglenn, CO 80234 303-452-9312. Thank you Esther, Chris, Susan & Dr. Paul **!

Ordered 2 pairs of glasses, one regular, the other sunglasses (polarized). Both high index 1.67 lens. We have been at this for over 3 months. There is always something wrong when we order them/reorder them. It takes the better part of 3 weeks each time they have to remake them. The biggest problem is the sunglasses. They have defects in the lens every time we get them. This company has no such thing as quality control. They also have no idea how to keep customers informed of how things are going during reorder. I would never deal with this company again or let any friend or family deal with them.

I went to my ophthalmologist, for annual checkup, etc. and told him I wasn't satisfied with my previous progressives, for reading. He recommended getting separate prescriptions. I went to Pearle Vision to order the readers. They came in, and they seemed fine, until they were on my face during reading a book. I noticed a disagreeable odor from either the plastic lenses or the nose pieces. I checked all of my previous glasses and not one of them have this but they were more costly. Is it possible that Pearle is using that smelly Chinese plastic for their lenses? I do not know how to approach them with this complaint since it sounds so crazy.

I had an issue with polarization on a pair of prescription sunglasses I had purchased. They made me dizzy and nauseous almost immediately. I'm new to prescription eyewear and wasn't sure if I was out of luck. Despite the scathing reviews on here, I had no issue bringing them in, and having new lenses put in without the polarization. Now, my glasses are as good as the regular eyeglasses I purchased here. Very positive experience overall.

I recently received a pair of glasses free of charge from one of your stores in Halifax, Nova Scotia. The first time I put them on the glasses fit perfectly. After 4 days the glasses would slip down my nose. After going back to the store 5 to 6 times one gets a little tired of doing so and recalls your mother's comment you do not get quality for nothing. Now the lenses were perfect. But the frames were much to be desired, unless one has time to go to the store everyday to have the frames tightened.

I am a grad nurse... I have developed liver disease from taking a anti cholestral med. The med destroyed 50 percent of my liver, so I have gone from an income of 8 to $9,000 per month to $650.00 per month, and if that's not bad enough the same frames I was given are available on glasses4all.ca for 12 dollars. I asked if I could pay the difference between these frames and a solid pair of Raybans and was told NO. So for me this experience has been very poor and it was a deep dig in my side. "We are giving you these, your poor, take what we offer..." It did not give me the chance of getting the frames I wanted and was willing to pay the difference for.

Why the Raybans? I have had 3 pairs of them while working, the nose piece is fully adjustable and they fit perfectly and I bought 3 of the same model over the years. So in closing you as a company, are not interested in what the customer would like, you offer a very cheap line of frames. If these frames had been good there would have been no problems. And furthermore, this just brings in what people think of you, you're poor, you don't deserve the best, and that's what I got. Second rate cheap frames probably made in Japan. Cheap, cheap, cheap! I would rather go around not being able to read than to have cheap glasses. Never again will I ever go to your stores, and I forgot to say I am accepted into a masters program under a scholarship. My comments are, your frames will be less than stellar.

Could someone email me one at **? The 2014 one is definitely a different format. While I my memory may be faulty. I'd love to see the pamphlet to either confirm their view or mine. We had to pay another $66.21 for the replacement lenses. Thanks.

I went to purchased a pair of glasses from them. THE MANAGER over heated them to adjust them which resulted in damage, but before that I was told they would take 7-8 days. On day nine I was called to inform me that there was a delay, eight more days. I went back to tell them that the glasses were not up my satisfaction and was told on Sunday a new pair is on order as we speak. I told them I was not waiting another 15 days, that I wanted them by the end of the week. On Monday I received a call from THE MANAGER that she would herself order my glasses. Again I told her she had until Friday.

Tuesday I receive a call yet from another sales person from Pearle that she was going to order the glasses, yet I told her again that she had until Friday. Then I called customer service @ 1-800-937-3937 to complain. I was told we will call you back with a resolution. That call never came. I called them back, clearly I was upset. My tone of voice was elevated. The operator immediately started saying “do not cuss at me” which I think that means to the uneducated use of profanity which I never did. But if I ever spoke to that person again then she will really find out what cussing is, which I believe she cursing but who knows. Then to top it off she hung up on me.

I had my exam and bought new frames and lens and when I went to pick them, I couldn't see clearly right from the get go. Made an apt to have dr check eyes again. 2 weeks later, the Dr check with some machine and said prescription was correct must be the frames. Changed the frames, same results. Can't see or read thru the trifocals. Came back again. He re-examined my eyes, changed the script and guess what, I still can't see they make me sick to my stomach. When I try what is my recourse now? I can't afford to throw away $500.00 of glasses and buy new ones. I am still wearing my old ones.

Hilltop Virginia Beach: Purchased glasses for child with a +5 prescription. I was promised them in 7 days. I asked that they be rushed because if you know anyone with a +5 prescription, you know they cannot see without glasses. My child's glasses were broken so she literally needed them asap. NOW it has been 22 days - no glasses. No one can even tell me when they will arrive but they somehow know they are not on the way. I have called the complaints department - who promised to call me daily with an update and I have heard nothing. The store manager, although nice, was unable to help me at all. After I called the complaint department, the manager offered me $75 refund for the glasses. However, I still have no glasses for my child and no idea when they will arrive. I paid almost $500 for the glasses. I am cancelling the order and moving on today if I do not hear back. I am also going to tell the eye doc that works next door how bad their service is. This is the second time this has happened to me - two strikes and you are out!

I went into Pearle Vision with the 100% trust that no one else in town could do a better job and supply me with the best vision care by purchasing my eyeglasses at Pearle Vision. However I was informed by the manager that the eyeglasses he had for me were 100% correct despite the fact that I couldn't read a piece of paper directly in front of me but to the left side of me. The manager convinced me that I just need to get comfortable with the eyeglasses and that reading the paper to my left side was not a big deal. I was not convinced of this and requested my money back.

He informed me a refund isn't possible now. I was shocked because I'm not paying for defective lenses that he guaranteed would be the "BEST" for me and were the worst I have ever experienced and I have been wearing glasses for 30 years. I had lost all trust in him after the manager guaranteed no one else could do a better job in town, that they were the "BEST(!)" and especially lying to me about having to get use to the new lenses that were defective. However after about an hour of debating with the manager, I finally gave up with the manager's ridiculous convincing and ran down to the nearest store that was open which was EYEMART and spoke with the Manager Brian and he inspected the eye glasses I had just purchased from Pearle Vision and Brian said the right lens was off and shifted to the left; that's why I was reading papers to my left.

The eyeglasses were supposed to have a high quality brand of progressive lens that as explained had very little blur on the sides and be able to see clearer than the general brand of progressive lens. However I did not get this. There was a lot of blur around the clear area of vision through the lens as well, of which I complain of also. I took the glasses back to the store where my boyfriend and I called the manager who was at his home and complained 3 times over the phone requesting a refund. We explained how we had lost all faith because we were coerced into thinking the glasses were the best quality, just need to get use to them.

We were upset that here Eye Mart took the time to test why I was complaining about reading to my left and took the time to test the position of the lens and marking the lens of the corrected position needed for the left lens and mostly blurry lens, but that Pearle Vision never took the time to test, just did a lot of convincing and saying, "Take them, you'll be alright." I lost all confidence and made me think they really don't care to make my vision better but worse and I had eye surgery for retina detachment and doctors don't know because but I am trying to protect them in every way possible because my vision is extremely important to me.

The manager at Pearle Vision finally gave us our refund back of the amount purchased with cash, but he basically stole the benefits of authorization of benefits so I couldn't use them at another eyeglass place. I had to also give back my eyeglasses which in the benefits plan I was supposed to have those free. I have written a complaint 3 times to Eye Med and they keep denying me the benefits back and forcing me to go back to Pearle Vision to get my eye glasses redone. I explained I don't trust them. I was lied to and stolen from. I am requesting for my benefits back and my free frames that were through my Eye Med insurance, of which I work hard to pay hundreds each year to help protect me because I care for my sensitive eyes and rely on them for survival.
