The branch in Windsor mill. We have been using this location for years, but suddenly shut down for months without notice. It just reopened under new management. We were glad it reopened. We went in Oct 2, 24 for exams and new glasses. Staff promised glasses will be ready 5-7 days. Today is Oct 21, 24 and no calls yet. We need a refund of the down payment. We can move to either another location or new company. We'll notify the insurance company.

I didn’t have the eye exam, but I did get two pairs of glasses. One pair was sun glasses and the other pair was regular glasses. Great customer service and was extremely pleased with the quality of my glasses.

My husband and myself had appointments for an eye exam and glasses. They contacted us a little more than an hour for our scheduled appointments to move or cancel appointments. To move from Monday to Friday or Saturday. I asked why, they said they didn't have a doctor. I asked, "Why would you have appointments if you do not have a doctor."

I explained we live 30 minutes away and I was already in town doing errands and had to contact my husband before he left home for the appointment, so he didn't have a wasted trip. I said what Bad Service they have to schedule appointments without a doctor and late notification of change needed for scheduled appointments. I do not recommend them.

“I’ve been a patient at Pearle Vision for a while, and while Dr. ** has always been excellent, my recent experience with the front desk staff was beyond unacceptable. The two receptionists, both with dark hair—one with glasses and the other with shorter hair and glasses—completely lost their composure when I asked a simple question about billing. Instead of addressing my concern professionally, one of them became hysterical, crying and screaming at me. It was surreal and disturbing. She even slammed papers down, which made the situation feel incredibly hostile. I’ve never had an experience like this at any medical office.

I have to wonder if there was an underlying racial bias in the way they treated me because their reaction was disproportionate and unprovoked. The doctor and the other staff member were kind and professional, but these two receptionists’ behavior was absolutely unhinged. I had to threaten to call the police to calm the situation down, and I’ll never be coming back here again because of them. They seriously need help or training in basic customer service and emotional regulation.”

I am beyond disgusted by my experience with Pearl Vision, and I feel obligated to share the details of this appalling interaction. Buckle up. I called Pearl Vision to ask a straightforward question: whether their optometrist had the a) medical ability and b) on-site capability to provide on-site treatment for specific conditions, like draining a stye (not just prescribing). I had previously liked the optometrist there and was hoping to get more clarity. Julie answered the phone, and from the very first moment, her attitude was nothing short of condescending and dismissive.

I started by asking if the doctor could handle conditions like styes or blepharitis. She confirmed that the doctor was an optometrist, then unhelpfully suggested I could see an ophthalmologist also. I pointed out that it would be silly to pay two doctors for the same thing, and sought to find out more to determine if the doctor could, in fact, help me. That's when her tone took a sharp turn. Julie responded to me as though I had said something absurd, speaking slowly, and in a tone that was dripping with condescension. It was as if she thought I couldn't comprehend basic information.

I tried to clarify my actual concern--that I wanted to know if the optometrist was able to perform a procedure like draining a stye on site, or something like that needed to be referred out. This wasn't a question about qualifications, but on-site capabilities. Julie continued to misunderstood my question and immediately became defensive. Instead of listening or attempting to clarify, she kept repeating the same information with that same patronizing tone. Each time I tried to rephrase my question, she would cut me off, talk over me, raise her voice, and continue to talk down to me as if I were incapable of understanding anything.

I was stunned by her attitude. When I calmly pointed out that I didn't appreciate how she was speaking to me, rather than reflecting on her behavior, Julie became even more hostile. She raised her voice and accused me of being the one in the wrong. She said I was being aggressive simply because I was attempting to clarify, and I wasn't willing to put up with her disrespect. At no point did she offer an apology, nor did she acknowledge her increasingly hostile tone.

The entire time, Julie treated me as though I was some sort of inconvenience, not a valued customer with a legitimate question. Her refusal to listen or engage respectfully was insulting enough, but the fact that she blamed me for her condescending treatment was beyond the pale. She escalated the situation when I attempted to de-escalate it, and the blame-shifting was simply outrageous.

This wasn't just a bad customer service experience--it was blatant hostility from someone who clearly has no regard for the people she's supposed to help. I've been a customer of Pearl Vision before, and while I've always appreciated the optometrist and Erica (both are incredibly helpful and customer-centric), this interaction with Julie has made it clear that I can no longer support a business that allows this level of disrespect to go unchecked. Julie's behavior was completely unacceptable--she treated me like a child, refused to be held accountable, and was outright hostile when I questioned her attitude. Her inability to handle a simple customer inquiry without turning it into an antagonistic, blame-filled exchange is appalling. She clearly lacks the professionalism and basic decency required to interact with customers. At the very least, this behavior reflects incredibly poorly on the entire establishment.

And to Pearl Vision: spare me the predictable rebuttal. I fully expect that any response will just be more of the same--deflecting blame away from Julie and onto me, just like she did on the call. I'm not interested, and neither is anyone else reading this. Make no mistake: Julie's conduct was disgraceful, and if this business has any standards for customer service, she should not be representing them. It's unacceptable, and frankly, shameful, that someone with such blatant disregard for professionalism and respect is allowed to continue treating customers this way.

Since April been dealing with the Cartersville Ga Pearle. Got new progressive lens glasses, had to go back due to lenses being made incorrectly. Glasses were remade. Had to go back repeatedly to get frames adjusted and multiple attempts by staff failed. They agreed to make a whole new pair, frames and lenses. Told me new glasses would be ready in 1- 1/2wks waited 2 weeks called, told would be 2 more days, called back, not ready yet. Three weeks and no glasses. Was told there had been a company buyout and there was a lot of confusion, could not find my order.

Called and requested refund, went to store and new manager issued what was supposed to be a refund which turned out was processed as a debit so now I am out twice what I originally spent. Still trying to get my original refund and the amount that should not have been charged. Now a second manager from a different location is involved still No resolution would I recommend Pearle. No, never! How many stars? ZERO.

I went to Pearle Vision for an eye exam with my optometrist who recently went to work for them and was told I needed glasses and was given a prescription for them. Getting the progressive type glasses and having trouble with them, I was told I have to get used to working with them and that I did need glasses and shouldn't wear my readers anymore. Trying to comply, has been quite the challenge. The lenses didn't get dark enough in the sunshine and they changed them. They've been rather helpful all along but after several weeks now of wearing these script glasses, I have been fighting to make them work and have been unsuccessful. As a design engineer by profession, I rely on my eyes heavily. I read design drawings and have to see things in minute detail and any distortion causes nothing but frustration and angst.

How can a $450 pair of glasses not work at least as smoothly as my cheap readers? I can see much better with my readers, I get no distortions and it seems like the way they make these glasses is suspect to my issues. I also do not understand this "you need to get used to them" deal either. I buy readers at the drugstore or supermarket and they work perfectly.

Apparently, my eye doc saw something with my checkup that prompted the glasses, but they don't work so good. I expected to come read what others had to say in hopes of finding some answers, but it seems I can't find anything yet. I'll forward all information when I can and will update this posting after I visit Pearle for answers. The mismatch between the readers and the script glasses make me wonder how often the optical equipment is inspected or if it even is for accuracy. By the time you get used to new glasses, your sight could already be ruined with the wrong script is my biggest concern.

Have used this company for years and now the quality in the last few years of the lenses is poor. These new glasses seem to get so dirty and not clear and had them adjusted a few times. I even had my eyes re tested. So going to try another place for new glasses in a 3 month time frame. Gets pretty expensive to be honest. No other choice. I feel like I can't drive or even walk in stores without feeling drunk or off kilter. These frames are not working out for where my eyes are positioned in the lenses. Like they are curved for some reason when I look sideways. Horrible feeling.

Had my RIGHT lens crack, and needed it to be replaced. I called for two months (January-March) before someone at the office would actually order the lens. Once the fixed RIGHT lens came in, I went to get it replaced. They replaced BOTH the left lens and the right lens. Two different prescription lenses were put in my frames. I have specialty lenses and require prisms in my lenses in BOTH eyes. I currently only have ONE lens with prisms, the right side. The left lens does not have prisms. The left lens was fine and did not need to be replaced, let alone with the wrong thing. My vision is now double all the time because of that. I have been trying to get this corrected for TWO WEEKS.

As I said, my vision is double all the time. I cannot safely drive. I have no idea if this is damaging my vision on a long term basis. I have been calling every other day for two weeks, and LC managers and reps consistently argue with me, telling me there are prisms in my lease. Prisms cause the lenses to be markedly thicker than typical lenses, it’s quite obvious that one is different than the other. I am just being told today, after two weeks, that the store wants to mail my glasses to the lab to be tested, confirm that my left lens doesn’t have prisms, and then they will fix it. I cannot see, and therefore function, without my glasses. The lack of communication, lack of service, and overall inability to achieve the task that they should be able to complete is appalling.

This office asked my husband and I to come 15 minutes before our appointment, which we did. However, for both of our appointments we were seen 30 minutes after our scheduled appointment. Additionally, we had errors with our contact order and after the high expense of the visit and quoted contact amount, we decided to make our purchase elsewhere. The office was extremely disorganized. Additionally, the practice did not seem to be aware of common ophthalmology practices like implanted contact lenses.

They sold glasses that the lens are not correct. Can only see out of one side. According to the surgeon, Pearle Vision should have informed their patient cataract was in both eyes and surgery was required because one eye was considered legally blind. They never informed their patient. Wasted time for appointment and money to pay for wasted appointment. And wasted money on useless glasses. Went back 3 times, each time they said glasses were fine.

First - I had what I thought was excellent insurance through my job. It was the Premium Plan from VSP, I think? Anyway, even with all the so-called discounts, this new pair of glasses STILL cost me $700 out-of-pocket! Second - There's a sort of bait-and-switch they pull with part of the eye exam. They do not tell you on the phone about the ret scan that they say is mandatory. So, you show up to you appointment and have to either A - Agree to get a ride home or sit there until your pupil dilation subsides, or B - Pay an extra $125 to have their machine do it digitally.

Third (and last) - This pair of glasses I got, that cost me $700 ($1300, total) is useless one year later. The "scratch-proof" coating is half gone. My vision is actually worse with them on. There's a semi-permanent crease above my ear because these are the newer type frames that don't actually wrap around the head. I have gone back to my old glass, which are over 12 years old and cost me $100 at Walmart. Walmart is where I shall return to, to get my next pair.

Everyone there is very helpful and while some have come and gone over the years, we have always been lucky enough to have Elvi work with us. Her knowledge of the business, dealing with insurance companies, and eyewear styling is unsurpassed. If slight adjustments are needed to the final product for the perfect comfortable fit, Gene is the best. Dr. ** is awesome. She always makes you feel at ease and comfortable as she proceeds through the vision testing process- including, for me, dilation to observe those dreaded eye floaters. Pearle Vision is the worst place to get glasses, my friends. Over 4 months down the road and still don't have my glasses because their lab is incapable to get it right and unfortunately they have a no refund policy. They expect you to lower your standards and accept glasses with frames that don't fit the lenses so your lenses can fall off. All they do is sell you expensive plastic frames aka big brand names that have no price tag on so they can change as they wish. I guess their policy is to charge you for trying so even if they can't deliver a good pair of glasses to you there is no refund. Save yourself the headache, time and money and go to a more qualified place because Pearle Vision is a JOKE!!!

Flint, MI this one's for you! I would have left a review on Google but that feature has been disabled. I would never have scheduled an exam there if I know it was going to be considered by an employee that just returned to the company and a trainee. The doctor didn't do any part of the exam, just showed up virtually to see if I had concerns with my vision. My concerns were with my exam but I specifically, and repeatedly, voiced that I wanted the Biofinity contacts, no substitutions. He agreed to that.

The person that just came back to work for the company was trying to sell me glasses. She already knew that I only wanted the Biofinity contacts. She said that she was having trouble entering my order because it kept wanting to default to generic. After about 10 minutes, she said she finally was able to enter it and have it shipped to my home instead of the store so I could pick them up. (I will NEVER agree to that again.)

I opened my box as soon as it arrived and saw that they were the generic brand. Of course, I didn't pay the generic price because I was adamant that I didn't want to risk trying other brands. I immediately called and demanded the Biofinity lenses. The woman told me that Cooper Vision has a partnership with them and that's just their agreed upon marketing packaging but the lenses with the name brand. Biofinity is nowhere on the packaging, box or bubble.

Against my better judgment, I gave them a try and they were horrible! They would rip and tear easily, sometimes only lasting a week. They still wouldn't exchange them. If these were the correct lenses, then the fitting had to be incorrect. After all, all aspects of the exam were conducted by someone that used to work for Pearle Vision and just recently returned and someone that just started that day.

I haven't had a difficult exam or contact lens experience in over 15 years but this entire ordeal was awful and I would only go back out off extreme desperation. There are plenty of other places that would be willing to have my business and I could even have an exam performed by an experienced and licensed professional.

I cannot fail to mention the great attitude and professionalism with which I was treated during the delivery of each item by such an excellent and trained lady, who with her always smiling and attentive characteristic made receiving our things more comfortable. Nothing. They had appointment scheduled, so they sends me to their Palomar store. No appointment scheduled, but I was "lucky" they had time. Two weeks later glasses came in. Checked their store hours and they were closed when I arrived. Ok, I come back and finally get my glasses. Both pairs bad. I call back and came back. They once again redid my exam.

Two weeks later I return. What? Closed again, during business hours! Oh, yes I called first, no answer, BOTH stores! I call another store, who calls me back to tell me my replacement glasses are at Fayette Mall store. "Oh, I'm sorry. They are closed Wednesday, so wait to Thursday." Honestly, I will never come back. So if you have followed my story so far, go someplace else for your eyewear needs. Anywhere but Pearle Vision!
