Unlike virtually any other product on the market, the "frames and lenses" from Lenscrafters has NO WARRANTY AT ALL, UNLESS YOU BUY THEIR WARRANTY for $34.99. There is NO WARRANTY for materials or workmanship of the frames or lenses. There may be a workable policy to deal with a repeat customer, but there is no ASSURED WARRANTY on the products being sold at Lenscrafters.

Furthermore, the disclosure of any of these facts is neither obvious nor discussed and you will not realize this until you get your receipt which (The customer may or may not see) for the charge for the Warranty. Even then the "WARRANTY" being offered is not complete. It would require a co-payment of some ill defined amount and even then the "EXTRA COST" is only applicable for one year! Poorly managed customer expectations.

Horrible customer service experience in the store that I won't bother to write about because the main issue is when they put the new lenses in my glasses, I couldn't see. They even told me they couldn't guarantee the replacement ones would be correct. They refused to reimburse for the exam so I could go elsewhere and when they did finally reimburse for the lenses... they had no intention of reimbursing the insurance company. I called the insurance company myself. After being disconnected with their customer service center, I finally spoke with Mickey who told me she has no intention of reimbursing me for the exam and hung up the phone.

Beware! My wife and I had routine eye exams at Lenscrafters in the Eastgate, Cincinnati, Oh facility in February of 2017. Their website says eye exams at $82.50 including the dilation test. The dilation test was what we had rather than the eye imaging which is $35 extra. We paid $40 each upfront thinking the remaining $42.50 was being billed to Medicare for the medical part of the exam. Two months later we received bills from them for $140.05 each because we had not met our deductibles from Medicare for the year yet. They had billed Medicare $150 rather than the $42.50 we thought would be billed.

They had charged Medicare more than $100 extra over what the exam costs for a cash only transaction. This had not been explained to us upfront. If we had known, we would have paid the $82.50 cash upfront and not had anything billed to Medicare. Besides all this, the exam was rushed. One nice thing, my new glasses were made in a little over an hour, but they did not improve my vision any at all.

I have purchased 3 x's from Lenscrafters. This last yr was total joke - I was never approached. I picked out some I like then the girl said, "Oh thanks." and everything looked great. Please - especially more expensive ones. She never asked if I had insurance so I thought I couldn't use it. She never told me my 900.00 glasses would be plastic lenses. Really!!! The smudge so easy so not what I paid for! The first pair she had fit so tight I had to go back. It gave me horrific headaches and left indentations. She was loud and so not a pleasant experience. I had gone to another one out west. They were great, should have gone back there!

Nice doctor but horrible customer service from store manager and eye exam office staff. They misfiled insurance to old company even though I clearly noted I had new insurance and gave them the card. Then got major runaround (and no apology until I noted it) on how it wasn't their fault vs. just taking down the new info, resubmitting it and apologizing for wasting my time in 4 phone calls. I spent over $2K/yr there for over 8 years. Old staff was great but all left in the last 2 years. Won't be going back and will spend my money elsewhere.

I bought my glasses from them less than a year ago. When the "coating was coming off" I had to pay to get my lenses replaced. When I got them back (in a hour) I put them on and things were blurry. I told them and their response was "You haven't worn your glasses all day so it's going to be blurry." Keep in mind I had progressive lenses with a -.25 to 1. My eyes aren't bad. Just off enough to cause me migraines and I need the glare protection. I told her that did not make sense but I guess we will see. Once I went outside I was seeing 4s of the street lights. Then I knew something was wrong. I went back inside and told them the problem. I was told there is nothing wrong with the lenses and go get my eyes checked. At that point I left furious.

I went up to the other Lenscrafters in the area and the supervisor confirmed there was a crack in the coating and that would be causing the blurry vision and seeing 4s of lights. He told me he would get these ordered right away and should be ready in 3-4 days. Keep in mind this was Friday night 15 mins before they closed. On Tuesday I went in to drop off my frames, thinking they would need them that day or tomorrow. Later that week on Friday I called to find out where my glasses were. I then found out they didn't order my lenses till Tuesday, the same day I dropped off my frames. The supervisor completely disregarded my visit and never ordered my lenses. I came in on Monday when they finally got them. The same supervisor was there and helped me.

I bluntly asked why it took so long. This was the response "(snarky) Sorry, you came in late and I was off the next few days." So I replied with so much for that 3-5 days. This time he got louder and said "I said I'm sorry." All snarky. At that point I walked out with my finally repaired glasses. Later that day I set my glasses down and my leg accidentally laid on them. I felt it right away and lifted up my leg. The frames at the hinges just snapped off. I never noticed my $200.00 frames had plastic hinges. I called their corporate office because I am not dealing with their stores again. I was told I had 2 days left for my protection program but I have to file a claim through warranty before they would allow me to pay the 25.00 to replace my frames. I submitted my claim to their website they gave me. 10 days later I had not heard anything.

I tried calling all week and waited over 2 hours every time and never got anyone. Finally today I got a hold of someone and the reply was "Sorry we never received your claim". I called Lenscrafters back and was told "Sorry nothing we can do now." They will try to contact the store to see if they will do something. I do not expect a positive outcome. This has been a terrible experience and recommend everyone not to go there. At one time they were a good company. Not anymore.

I broke my glasses and didn't have much money to spend on a new pair of glasses. I went in hoping to get mine fixed but the girl Gina said it couldn't be fixed. I was about to walk out but she said she could call my doctor and get my script. So after some time it came and she helped me pick out designer glasses from the sale rack while we waited for my script from my doctor. She was so kind and helpful. It seemed like she was the only person working. The blond girl behind the desk didn't say anything to me when I came in. Gina was quick to help me. Gina got me my new glasses in my budget and in less than a hour. The guy in the back was very nice too. I think his name was Peter. If it wasn't for Gina and Peter I wouldn't be able to see. I would recommend this Lenscrafters to anyone that needs good glasses and customer services.

Excellent experience regarding the store in Apple Blossom Mall, Winchester, VA: The eye dr, Mr. Seung ** OD, gave my husband a very thorough eye exam, spending a great deal of time for accuracy of his prescription. The whole experience was professional, thorough, friendly and informative. I also thought the fees were reasonable. We then went to pick out frames and received the same great service from Chris **, Apprentice Optician. Mr ** was also thorough, professional and attentive to customers who entered the store. We bought the 1 yr warranty for little money compared to the normal cost of my husband's glasses. We must wait for his glasses because they are special lenses, but expect the same quality as our previous purchases from this store. We're glad we again chose LensCrafters and hope to continue doing business with them in the future.

I went into LensCrafters and bought a pair of prescription classes. I'm a Ray-ban fan. When I picked up my glasses I didn't notice that the Italian Ray Bans that I spent hundreds of dollars on were made in CHINA. Right there on the inside of one of the arms, it said Made in China. I was so angry and very bewildered. I've bought Ray Bans for LC before and they clearly say, Made in Italy. But, this time my glasses say Made in China. I called LC a couple of weeks later to speak to the manager, I wanted and paid for glasses Made in Italy. The manager basically said "Ray-ban has a factory in China where the glasses are produced, very poor quality." They offered me nothing for my dissatisfaction. I will never buy glasses from LC ever again.

I am 59 and have been using prescription glasses for most of my life. Two years ago, I bought a pair of Burberry frames from LensCrafters, with the lenses, and paid over $550 for these. Nine months later, the frames broke. When I brought them to LensCrafters, I was told I'd have to buy a new frame, which I did ($200+). I bought the same Burberry frame so that I would be able to use the existing lenses. The new frame broke about 10 months later. When I brought them to LensCrafters, I was told there was nothing they could do. They did not offer to repair the frame or reimburse me in any way. I have never had a pair of frames break in the 45 years I've been wearing glasses, so I can only assume the Burberrys were cheap knock-offs which LensCrafters sold as originals. LensCrafters looks like a professional shop, but don't be fooled.

Today I was told my glasses can't be fixed, and because I did not buy their protection plan (the glasses were Bulgari with Swarovski crystals) for an extra chunk of money, I was S.O.L. Who does that? I thought I was turning down an extended warranty, not that they wouldn't stand by their workmanship AT ALL. I mean, not even a 90 day warranty?? My last visit it was evident to me that they are not up to date with their surroundings and profession. They were talking about having a cheat sheet because they can't seem to remember the correct width for certain prescriptions, it was very unprofessional. I bought glasses at the Lenscrafters in Champaign, IL. I live 50 miles south of the store. I have had to drive back up there 3 different times. When I first bought the glasses, I told them my eyes felt strained almost immediately, like my prescription was wrong. I had my eye exam that day and was told the doctor was making the lenses "slightly stronger". I was told to wear them a few days and I would get used to them. The 2nd trip was for more adjustments, as my vision had not improved and I am back in my old glasses. The 3rd trip was to return them. On the 3rd trip, I was informed that the doctor had screwed up my script and made my glasses WEAKER than what I started with.

Lenscrafters wants me to pay for another $75 exam to adjust the lenses. Seriously? The people that work in the Champaign, IL store are rude and very condescending when dealing with customers. They act like they are annoyed that you are even there. I have worn glasses for 37 years, and they spoke to me like it was my first day on the planet. With glasses. On my eye exam they charged me extra for a retina exam after telling me my co-pay was $20. They had me sign a paper in a dimly lit room and afterwards told me my co-pay was $59. Afterwards they started the fast talking about this coupon vs insurance vs triple A. They get you so confused that you don't have any idea about what's going on. After all of that they charge you a ridiculous price for a pair of glasses. I told them I was quoted a co-pay price of $20 and they say SORRY. They have a large selection and you can add what you need to protect your eyes. But the glasses are way overpriced, they make money on the frames that are expensive and then the lens cause I need glare and sun protection which amounts to a high price. My glasses, which I picked up at Lenscrafters, are made of good materials. But they're hard to clean, so I end up just washing them with soap and water. I can't even just clean them with the cloth that they gave me, which I find a pain.

When the Doctor found I had a film over my eye and needed it lasered, they told me I could come back and replace the left lens for $25.00 if it needed to be changed. They didn't tell me how long I had and it took a long time to see the Doctor and then you have to go back for the procedure, so my time ran out. When I asked them to replace the lens they said they don't do that, but yet they where going to do it if my time didn't run out so I don't understand them. My ophthalmologist replaced it for $600.00, which was $200.00 less than the entire pair of glasses with the frame. Not happy with him so my glasses ended up costing me $1400.00, that made my credit card company happy and I realize you can't trust Doctors either. A lot of crooks out there.

They know it will only take a few minutes to send us on our way, unless they want to admit that they do such a poor job that they expect to need major adjustments. One of them was finishing up with a customer when we came but moved right on to a new customer instead of giving us a few minutes for the pick-up. Another was waiting for a customer to finalize his selection. Why can't one of them politely excuse herself from the customer and say "I will be just a few minutes, as this young lady is just here to pick up her glasses." Why? Isn't it because they want to make sure they don't lose the sale with the new customer, and they can't lose my daughter anymore because we have already paid?

When I went in to confront them about it, I was immediately treated like it was my fault, and told that it couldn't possibly be a defect. I have gone through many pairs of glasses, and have taken great care to ensure they stay in good condition, never mistreating them, so this was very insulting to me.

The looks they gave me, along with the faces they made, were so accusatory, it was just terrible. This is the last time I will ever shop at this location, not to mention Lenscrafters as a whole. Paying such a high premium for glasses, you would expect some sort of lifetime warranty on defects. Not so at all, and not even a hair of respect for the paying customer. AVOID THEM AT ALL COSTS.

Hello everyone, in November this year I had my eyes examined at LensCrafters Scottsdale fashion square, I bought Tom Ford eyeglass frames from the same Mall not Lenscrafters but I went to LensCrafters for the Lens. I had a good salesperson and that's as far as it got, I was told the glasses with the lens would be shipped to me in France within 3 days, I cannot tell you how many times I emailed customer services at LC. I finally got a tracking number from them, but they did not know who the shippers were (strange). Anyway I traced the number to UPS which showed as the package was shipped and received in OHIO. Yes OHIO!! The mind boggles!!

Anyway in the end LC customer services (why do they say they are customer services) I finally spoke to another person who said she would call the export department (I never knew about this before or was it ever mentioned). Anyway she said she would call back a few days ago with a tracking number, she never did. But surprise surprise the package was delivered today the 15th December 2016, 5 weeks later I might say. So the moral of this story is, the salespersons get their commission but after that, that's it, too long a delay from 3 days to 5 weeks. Very bad customer service, bad after sales, lack of communication.

I had my eyes examined at the Asheville, NC store on October 14, 2016. The doctor fitted me with my contacts and told me to try them out for a few days and see if they worked well for me. I returned a few days later and told the doctor that they needed to be adjusted because I could not read at all with them. She examined me, made the adjustment and gave me a new pair of lenses. I could read much better with the new lenses and proceeded to leave. I was in the process of moving to Florida and could not get my lenses mailed to me, so I asked for my prescription on my way out. The receptionist pulled up my records and printed out my prescription for me and I left.

When I arrived in Florida and had my address, I ordered 2 boxes of lenses from and online store that I had used in the past, submitted the prescription that was given to me by Lenscrafters and waited for my lenses to arrive. When I received them and put the first pair in, I realized that I must have been given the first prescription (not the corrected prescription) because I could not read anything at all.

I have been in contact with the doctor at Lenscrafters via e-mail constantly since this error was realized. She (on behalf of Lenscrafters) refuses to replace the lenses or refund the money I am out for the wrong prescription, even though she admitted the error to me in one of her e-mails. Her reasoning is that she can't refund or replace an error in my prescription due to her company's representative's error because I didn't purchase my lenses through Lenscrafters! It shouldn't matter WHERE my lenses were purchased, I entrusted Lenscrafter's with my vision in good faith and paid for the examination and any accurate prescription necessary. The Asheville Lenscrafter's store and Lisa **, are not to be trusted in any transaction! I will be taking the matter up with corporate, but from what I've read, my efforts will probably be futile. So, buyer beware when dealing with Lenscrafters!

The reason for this review is on the August 30, 2016 I was at the Pearland Texas location, in the Town Center. Once in the eye exam room. The doctor had me to place my chin against one of the machine. The lens were dirty and once the doctor wiped them off. They were still cloudy. Then this rebate problem for my contacts. I was told by the eye doctor she would take care of my rebate information, and I should receive a certain amount in the mail. Time went passed. Nothing. I ended up doing my own rebate and was told I was suppose to do it myself. If you can avoid going to Lenscrafters in Pearland. It will not be worth your trip.

I went to a Lenscrafters at Merle Hay Mall in Des Moines Iowa and was greeted by the single employee working there named Meagan. In the past I had been able to bring broken glasses in and have new ones made from by them copying the prescription from the lens. This time I was told that they cant do that and that they need the person to come in for photographing and measurement with their computer system. I explained that the person could not come in and I just needed an emergency pair so they could travel home to New York. They outright refused to sell me glasses claiming that the computer system in use was the only way they can sell the glasses. SO basically they discriminate against people who can't come to their store in person.

I was upset but decided to call another lenscrafters location and was told exactly the same story. No instore, no glasses. At least the person on the phone admitted that the reason was because they needed to upsell the frames and lens treatments. I WILL NEVER USE LENSCRAFTERS AGAIN. And I buy new glasses for a family of six every two years. GOODBYE FOREVER LENSCRAFTERS!

My issue is that the Lenscrafters in Omaha at Westroads Mall sends out appointment reminders for appointments never made by the customer. I have to assume that they just randomly assign the date and time to see if they can get the person to keep the appointment. Last year, I received a reminder email for an appointment that I supposedly made. The problem was, this appointment was during my vacation, which has been the same for the last 40 years...there is no way I would make ANY appointment during that two week period. But, like the good little follower that I am, I called and changed it and went to the appointment after vacation.

Fast forward to today and I receive the following (part not all of the email): "Finally, remember to keep your annual eye appointment. We can look for even the slightest changes to your eyes, and check for early signs of diabetes, high blood pressure and high cholesterol. You are currently scheduled for the following appointment: Appointment for: Vicki; Appointment Ref #:**; Date/Time: Tue 04-04-2017 12:40 PM; Office Address: Westroads Mall Omaha, NE 68114"

At least they didn't make it during my vacation again. I am certain that I did not make this appointment. It is neither in my personal calendar nor my work calendar, and I do not have a card with the appointment written on it, which I ask for if they do not offer one. Maybe they do this to older people (I am 62) hoping that we will just assume we forgot making the appointment.

I hope that others who have wondered if they just forgot making the appointment and went to it anyway, will realize that they are being bamboozled by this company. Now, to find a new eye doctor. PS: Last time, my glasses retailed for over $1,000, and this year they were over $600 because something was on special. And, if I had just had new lenses made for my Ray-Ban frames which were in perfect condition, it would have been over $700. I think I might try Costco or Walmart next for the glasses part of this deal.

Since my other glasses got old, I used this Ray-Ban glasses and one of the screw came out after 6 months and I thought I'll get it repaired from Lenscrafters as I had bought it from there. When I went to Lenscrafters Alpharetta, they checked and said it can't be repaired. I told them I brought it from Lenscrafters and the lady called Natasha was very rude as she was suspecting me and said, "We can't provide you warranty and all those stuff." I never asked for warranty claim as I know it's been more than 3 month old. I would have appreciated if they would have shown the same kind of customer service when I went to buy glasses.

Since she knows it's just repair and not to waste her time, she told, "We sell only glasses here and we are not repair store." Shouting a bit rude. As a matter of fact, I thought of buying another glasses on that day and I took my prescription along with me... after seeing such a rude treatment, I never spoke about buying new glasses. I just walked away with shame. I was having a wry good respect on Lenscrafters until that incident. I will never recommend to anyone of my friends.

I went into Lenscrafters on Sunday, September 25, 2016 and dealt with a lady. I picked out the glasses and gave her the prescription. I asked if they had clip on sunglasses and she told me no so I asked for the darkening when I go out in the sun. She said yes they have them. Now the only reason I went there was because my old eye doctor moved about 60 miles away and I figured I hear so much about Lenscrafters I will give them a try and keep in mind I paid $130.00 for a pair of prescription glasses with the clip on and she was charging me $693.00 for the same thing except the darkening of the glasses. I thought I had no choice so I paid for them.

I left there and was angry so when I got home after thinking about it I called and cancelled the glasses and told them to put the money back on my credit card. She told me she couldn't and I would have to come in and give them my card. Well Monday morning looked up my credit card account and she charged me twice. Well I'm going down there Thursday morning to argue with them. Well needless to say I will never never go to any Lenscrafters again and I wouldn't recommend them to anyone.

Last month I purchased my husband and I new glasses. For the first time I wanted to get designer for myself so I bought an expensive pair of Versace's. I had the misfortune of getting hit in the face which caused my glasses to scratch. I brought them back a little over a month later, I had the glasses maybe 7 weeks hoping someone could help me, for instance, tell me I'm a first time customer and "We want to help you" or "We understand", "How these things happen", "Let us replace your lenses for free". I was simply turned away saying "You didn't purchase the added protection plan" (which I was never offered) and "There's nothing we can do for you".

I had to borrow $700 for my husband and to get glasses and here I am with expensive glasses and a scratched lens. I realized it's my fault for getting hit in the face but where's the compassion? I went to Wal-Mart 2 years ago with a pair of glasses that I had problems with and they had a 90 day return policy and I was able get another pair (free of charge), no questions asked. I'll be going back to Wal-Mart from now on due to their superb customer service. Thank you.

The person named Christoper waited on me and stated that yes, I could, and he verified that the store had a set of lenses for my needed prescription on hand in the store and that it would be no problem. He quoted a price of $253.00, which I found acceptable. I asked for his first name, which he gave, and then he mentioned that he would be off the next day, and that anyone in the store would be able to take care of me.

The following day I returned to get my new lens, and instead got a complete runaround, and was told that the price would be $458.00! The lady taking care of me said Christoper left no record of my having been there, and insisted to give me a ten minute upsell spiel about the latest and greatest lens that would cost $458.00. I expressed my disappointment in feeling as if I were being hustled. Eventually she stated that I could not get the lens I wanted today 08/31/2016, gathered her material and left the desk stating that I was through and went to greet the next customer. Still in need of glasses, I went to Pearle Vision. The nice lady at the counter said they did not have a set of lenses in my prescription, and recommended perhaps to try Visionworks a few blocks away. I went to Visionworks, and lo and behold I had my glasses done in exactly one hour at the price of $127.80.

Later, I received an email at 2:00 letting me know that my 1:00 appointment was being canceled because their doctor didn't show up. Telling me this at 2, an hour AFTER the time of my appointment, is not terribly helpful. They were extremely rude while I was in the store. One employee suggested I go to one of their competitors (!) instead - - and gave me a location that has not existed for 15 years.

When I went back for my rescheduled appointment, I was told the exam would be $99. After the exam, I was told that I had to pay $150 because of some extra service I'd had. I refused to pay the extra $50 as they had not obtained my permission for whatever (probably BS) extra service I'd had. I was told that the girl behind the counter could not take off the $50 without doctor present. I told her that I was not going to be scammed, that I had every intention of walking out of the store without paying a dime, and was absolutely not paying the extra $50 and they had no basis on which to enforce payment of that amount. Miraculously, she was then able to take off the $50, without the doctor present.

I contacted Lenscrafters about the terrible service and have received FIVE emails saying that the regional manager is going to contact me, which still has not happened and I doubt ever will. Now, I've discovered that Lenscrafters did not submit the $99 I paid for my exam to my health insurance company - - they only submitted for $59. This is not the result of an insurance company adjustment - - Lenscrafters reported only a $59 exam. That means that only $59, rather than the $99 I paid, gets applied to my deductible, and it may well constitute insurance fraud. I called again about this and was given more "we'll get back to you," which I seriously doubt will happen.

I will not be going to Lenscrafters again, they are clearly scam artists and will hopefully be put out of business soon enough. I would recommend that anyone looking for eye care not give this fraud-happy company your business and go elsewhere as you will receive better eye care and better service and not contribute to the continued existence of this scam company.

I would like to share my recent experience. I went to the Oakville Place a month ago. I picked out Ray Ban glasses. The rep said that I would need to get my prescription and the cost for Ray Ban lenses would be $85 plus the cost of the Ray Ban glasses. I put them on hold. My CAA discount would bring it under $300. I brought in my prescription only to be told by another rep that they would not be able to put my –3.75 on each eye prescription on that frame. I chose another frame. I was promised the lens would be the same color and the lens would now fit. I got the back and the color of the lens was not the same blue. It was more of a brownish grey. The lens did not fit properly at all. It was sticking out and the arms were widened. I brought them back and chose a green lens made by Ray Ban.

Fasal said that this can be done for sure. I found it frustrating that the oriental tech in the back came out and yelled that the frame would still be wide and the arms will stick out. I received another call days later only to be told that they cannot be done. No reason was give. I came in and was issued a refund. I think I deserve an explanation. "See what you love, love what you see" is Lenscrafter's motto. How does that transfer to me? I reached out to the head office and CEO as to why I made 4 visits to this store for nothing. I want an explanation as to why they cannot make the glasses that I requested even though they said that it could be done. I would also like to know why nobody has called me back in over a month?

I got to the pre-testing at 11:55 (my appointment was at 11:45). After the 10 minutes of pre-tests I waited until 1:00 before I got in to see the doctor. As the sales people walked by I kept getting told "It'll be just another couple of minutes, sorry". While I waited I looked at frames (for about 15 minutes) and was assisted by Gavin. He was just plain awesome. If you end up going to this location, you'll probably want to get helped by Gavin when selecting frames.

Follow up appointment: My appointment was at 12:45 but I got there at 12:00. They got me in and I saw Dr. Lena **. She was short and to the point and seemed rushed. I'll chalk that up to her squeezing me in 45 minutes before my appointment which was greatly appreciated. I needed an additional follow up the next Friday (my fault).

When I went back, she wasn't as tense and to the point. My appointment was at 3:45 and at exactly 3:45 she called me back. She was definitely more relaxed. We decided that the prescription I was using for the contacts I currently had in was perfect. (The sample/test pair provided by them.) She finalized the prescription and I went out to order my contacts.

I was helped by Mike (I think that was his name) and he was very polite with a sense of humor. I had to wait about 10 minutes as they were busy with not enough staff on the sales floor. (From my previous times here this seems to be the norm). We got my contacts ordered and my new glasses adjusted in about 5 minutes.

Fair warning: If you call this location be prepared to wait on hold for a while. I observed them answering the phone (after letting it ring numerous times) and putting the customer on hold for about 5 minutes. Once again this was due to a lack of staff on the sales floor.

To solve it, I MUST change the frame as well as the correct lenses. Note that there is a shuttle difference between the old frame and the new one, and it should work when I consulted with the staff before I made the new glass. Moreover, by Lenscrafters policy, client can get the same service at any Lenscrafters store. Based on the above, the service at Eaton Center Store located at 220 Yonge St, Toronto, ON, M5B 2H1 - CAN is very disappointing because they only focus on their own interests and ignore the client's reasonable request.

Awful treatment. Not professional, manipulative and be careful with them overcharging you!! They tried to intimidate me in three different occasions while I was buying new eye glasses. During my visit to the Solomon Pond Mall Store in MA, on memorial Day 2016, I purchased a pair of prescription lenses for $407 Cash including a phony 30% off. It was supposed take up to one week for them to be ready.

I noticed that the salesperson was indiscreetly loud and offered short answers trying to avoid objections. It felt strange at first, but soon I realized it was sales strategy to intimidate patrons so they don't question pricing, coverages, etc. Everyone in the store could hear that they didn't accept my insurance so I had to cover all the costs myself. (That's nobody's business!) That's fine about the charges but what bothered me, was the way they talked to me. (Is that how people make sales these days by intimidating and shaming customers?) I felt a little embarrassed but not for long...

I purchased in full the supposed discounted $407.00 prescriptions without a frame and provided them with my own Fendi Frame to save up a little since my old prescriptions weren't working for me. Eight days after the purchase and without hearing back from the store, I decided to call the back to inquire about the prescription, but nobody called me back. So, I called again and again... (Very exhaustive.) I was told that they were too busy to return my call. After some persistence on my part, I was told the shipping was "late" and that they would make me another set of lenses in the meantime at no extra charge and that I could keep them for the inconvenience they had caused me.

When I went back to the store in the next day, another sales person (Alison) tried to intimidate me again by speaking loudly about my business in front of all the other customers in the store saying something completely different from the other sales representative I had on call. She followed by saying that she was going to call immediately both of sales people who I had spoken to on the phone the day before to verify what they said was true. She never called any of them and she loudly stated previously. I insisted she would make a conference call with them but instead, she changed the subject and completely ignored me.

Then, I realized that they were resistant to inform that it takes two weeks minimum for the lenses to be ready for pick up. (I spoke to 5 different sales people on total and everyone kept that information from me until the last minute of my refund). I paid full price for those lenses and provided my own frame. I think I deserve the minimum respect and transparency. I feel I was discriminated against because I have an accent to be totally honest. This is unbelievable!

When I asked fourth salesperson also a manager (Elizabeth) why they wouldn't call any of the salespersons as stated in front of me (I was telling them the truth, so they could honor what was promised and she gave me a excuse by saying the staff were off so they wouldn't call them for that reason). I felt like a completely fool and on my own. If that's how I patron will be treated in these stores, I'd rather go to a high-end privately owned boutique to get my prescriptions from. I feel I wasn't treated properly and the staff weren't transparent with me for starters.

I requested my money back and I am hoping they will ship back my pair of Fendi frame. If they don't I will file a formal complaint against them. I already called the corporate to file another complaint as well. We as consumer have rights and we can't allow these companies and stores with this dysfunctional culture treat us like this. $400 is a lot of money for prescription lenses that are valid for only 2 yrs. We are the ones purchasing these goods and have the right to be treated with the utmost respect period. FYI: Later, I discovered that they had sent me a coupon on the mail for the same prescription lenses including the frame for $199 and $249 to my confirmation I was being ripped off.

I dealt with LensCrafters for several years, but my recent experience is beyond acceptable. I had purchased a pair of prescription sunglasses about nine months ago. I stopped in for an adjustment. The clerk brought them back from the lab, and told me the tech had broken the stem. Snapped right off. They didn't have the same frame, and the frame I had was discontinued. So a new pair was ordered with a similar frame. I got them about a week later. There was a film on the inside of the lens that kept reappearing. I'd have to clean them all the time. Took them back. They attempted to say it was something I was doing. Too close to your eyes, cleaning with the wrong cloth, etc. Try cleaning them with Dawn. Nothing worked. Took them back again. To sum it up - it was MY problem.

Took them in today for the same issue. Brought them out of the lab again and 'the frame broke.' Of course they didn't have THAT frame either. Found one close to it and put the lens in. That frame broke when I tried them on. Found another frame in another style that they could match up with the lenses. But it's tortoise shell and not the originally picked black frame. There was no offer to correct, replace or anything else. I told the clerk that that was it and I'd never be back. And, I won't!!! So I feel like I wasted $350.00 and a whole lot of aggravation and wasted trips to the store. My thinking is they have cheap imitation designer frames from China. LensCrafters no more!!!

I brought them back and the store manager told me that I did not have the "higher quality" protective lens anti-glare and scratch resistant coating. He told me it was my eyelashes that ruined my less than 90-day old glasses. I am 49 years old and I have been wearing glasses for 30 years. Never have I had this problem, ever. I would not recommend EVER buying glasses from them.

I ordered two pairs of glasses. One was sunglasses in a frame I had already. Even though I was told an hour I did not get the sunglasses that day. I was called by automated system a few times and told they were ready but when I got there they weren't. Not a huge deal. I purchased progressive glasses and insurance on the lenses and frames although I never have before because my glasses are always on my face and I never scratch them. I use only the lens wipes to clean and never use my shirt. I also got the scratch resistant lenses and although I did NOT want the anti-glare (it is always smudgy and smears) I was talked into it and told technology has changed and they would not smear or smudge.

After about two months I had a huge scratch appear on the left lens. I went back and got it replaced for a fee of $25.00. A month later and there is a scratch on the left lens again. Also when they replaced the first lens they did not ground it down and it is poking all out of the frame. I am very unhappy with these glasses. Between the scratches and smudges and going back several times for nose and ear adjustments I am done with Lenscrafters. I have worn glasses for 46 years and have NEVER had so many scratches on my lenses. I paid good money for the glasses too. I have gotten better ones at Wal-mart.

I should have ran out of the door then but decided to proceed. I ordered and paid for a new pair of glasses and was told that I will receive them on March 25th. Well, today is April 7th and I still don't have my glasses. I called the store several times and was told that they would be in that evening by UPS. I decided to call the corporate office which wasn't any better. It seems as if no one really cares about the quality of their services nor if the customers are happy after visiting their establishments.

Well, I was told that the 3rd party lab that they use keeps breaking the glasses because of a particular coating that they are using. If something keeps going wrong after several attempts then that means to try another method or suggest something else or just say that we are unable to fill this order. I would have accepted that, but no one told me anything until I called the corporate office. The only person that really tried to help me was the Lab associate at the store (Wakita and Robert). She is what you call an asset to the company but I'm quite sure that she will never be fully recognized for her professionalism, customer service, and positive attitude. I wish that they could be promoted or just honored in some sort of way. I tell you this, I will never, ever use their services again, nor will I refer anyone to Lenscrafters.

Today I was having a problem with my vision causing pressure in my head and eyes so I went to the store to try and get in to see the Dr. I stood at the counter for some time before an associate said to me "they are at lunch, are you here for an appointment?" I told her no, I would like to see if they can get me in this afternoon. She responded "well there are several people before you" and I don't think they have anything and walked off.

So I took a seat and waited. Reading the big sign on the wall that says "walk-ins welcome". What it should say is "walk-ins welcome with an appointment". When the associate returned from lunch she logged on and said "no we have no appointments available today. Go online and make an appointment when you are available to come back." I honestly left there feeling very dissatisfied and I'm not sure I really want to ever go back.

I have my eye doctor fax my prescription to another state within 5 minutes but when I called Lens Crafter to get the measurement of my PD done by them last year they gave me this cacameny diarrhea lie of why they couldn't give me my PD over the phone, because of some government law of OMG, blah blah blah. This is a message I shouldn't have to post. I'm about to turn 50 and the pair of glasses I just got are my first. I'm not the only person in my family who wears glasses now. LensCrafters should view those other family members as potential customers. But here's the deal, they are no longer potential customers. Either am I. I waited patiently until my glasses came in 12 days after ordering them. So on Thursday February 4, I went into their Quail Springs Mall location in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to pick them up at about 10:45 AM. When I got there, one other customer was with a store customer service specialist ordering their glasses. I stood by the counter for about 3 minutes sort of expecting her to say "Sir I'll be with you or someone else will be with you, in a moment." But that never happened so I just took a seat.

After another 7 minutes a guy who walked by in the back who saw me about a minute after I had arrived finally emerged from the back of the store. He then proceeded to ask the lady helping the customer who was next. Surprise! I was the only one in there! So I go to the counter and he asks how he can help me. I say I'm picking up glasses and provide my name. He turns around to the drawer and pulls my case out. Then he handed them to me. The transaction was done in his eyes. He didn't ask if we needed to sit to make sure they are adjusted to my face or anything. I mean I fully understand he needed to get to all of those other NO CUSTOMERS IN THE STORE. Of course I'm being facetious. This is horrendous customer service. Not only was there zero communication about the 12 days I waited, there was no service after the sale.

This guy had an empty store and was too busy to say "Hey sir let's get these fitted right before you walk out of here." Or "lets clean those smudged and dirty lenses." The lenses were a total mess by the way. Is this standard practice to give them to the customers dirty? Is this standard practice to not know where the customer's product is? Can't they provide a little cloth with the purchase to make sure we don't scratch our glasses? Is this standard practice to practically throw the product at the customer and basically say "Take 'em and get the hell out of our store!" Because that's what this felt like. Now guess what I have to do? I have to make another trip back to the store because the dang glasses are crooked. I'm sure after reading my complaints LensCrafters could really care less. That's fine. But they need to know this experience was a complete and total train wreck of epic proportions.

I got the one year warranty on my glasses and if they so much as get the tiniest scratch or scuff I will trade them in weekly if I have to...to make sure they live up to your end of the bargain. Quail Springs LensCrafters just lost a household of customers. I'm also taking this to Twitter as well. I figure the world needs to know about my experience and I will try and persuade as many people as I can to use another company not affiliated with LensCrafters. This is 100 percent on them for treating a customer, and potential repeat customer, so poorly. They took my hundreds of dollars and as far as they were concerned that's the moment their obligation to provide any additional customer service ended. Shame on LensCrafters. Thanks for taking my money LensCrafters and making me feel worthless as a customer. Good job!

Upon checking out (for the past 5 years) I am asked if I want to use my insurance and the amount will be X. I'm also given the cost based on their current promotion (w/o insurance), which is almost always higher than what is given using insurance. WHY CAN'T I USE BOTH?? Lenscrafters won't allow you to get their current "sale" price then use your insurance to pay the "sale" price. You either pay full price in order to use insurance coverage or pay the "sale" price directly out of pocket. This is ludicrous. What difference does it make if their "sale" priced payment comes directly from my pocket or that of my insurance company's (which I PAY FOR ALSO). This practice should absolutely stop immediately. Give me the sale price then accept my insurance coverage for it! Maddening!

ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! Today's date is 09/07/2015. I tried to take advantage of the 50% off sale. I wear a very common frame, not Oakley or Ray-ban. The retail on the frame is about $189.00. My prescription is trifocal with no lines and plastic lenses. The salesperson looked at AAA and ARAP to see for discounts. In the end they wanted $476.00. I then said "OK... Take the 50% off now." They said, "That is with the 50% off now!!!" She turned the screen and showed me the retail price (that was jacked up) at $952.00. THIS IS FOR A VERY COMMON SET OF GLASSES!! I took my prescription and left!!! I will give the money to a small Optometrist first even if it cost me $100.00 more!!

Do not be caught up in the 50% savings!! Also, realize that the frames are China-made and most likely cost about $5.00. The plastic lenses are PROBABLY bought in high volume for under $5.00 each, I would say. I understand that they need to make money and pay for help, lights, rent and so on. I own a business also, for the past 30 years. In my opinion, LensCrafters is a very nice scam. Go to a small Optometrist and get honesty and true work ethics. If you say, "Well my insurance covers this." Does it??? Or will it just raise insurance cost more??

In few words, Lenscrafters looks for excuses to reject your insurance. In my case, they told me, "We had promotion on lenses so you can't use your insurance for frame price!" Just FYI, promotion is a different subject and can't stops you from using your insurance to get the discount! I've a good insurance and it's always pays 35% of frame price and percentage of lenses. After I complained, received 4 phone calls from different people trying to convinced me with the purchase, but I asked for full refund and I'm going to buy it from somewhere that I could use my insurance. I fed up with the bad service and I'm glad I returned it because I read the comments about incorrect lenses! The message: They lost their customer and I'm going to tell all friends and family members about my bad experience. Shop where else, and "Save yourself some time, money and energy!"

Paid $500 for eyeglasses. No exam. Frames were Oakley brand. This was Nov. 2011. Six months later, 2012, there was a small stress crack. The glasses are heavier than my old ones, but cute, so I normally only wore them to church or out to eat. It isn't convenient to get to the mall so it was 2013 when I saw even more stress cracks radiating from the frame outwards. They replaced the lense once. Then it happened again shortly after. More cracks. I put them away and forgot about them. Today 8/15 I figured what did it hurt to take them back and ask if they'd do anything. I thought perhaps they discovered a design flaw. No. Until this pair of glasses I've always kept glasses 10 years, wearing old ones for gardening. I've never heard of stress cracks, especially any flaws happening months after paying $500.

I should note I was never asked what I used to clean the lens. I took my glasses to a competitor and they advised the coating was defective & LC should've replaced them - I had to buy new lenses. FF to my 2nd pair bought in 02/2015 and I purchased the warranty on the lenses: same issue, but this time it took 4 months for a spot to appear.

Within 6 wks multiple spots on both lenses. LC said "yes, defective coating but it's because of what you use to clean them with". NOTE: They didn't ask AGAIN how I cleaned my glasses so I knew at that moment "blame the customer" was their game. Because it was "personal damage", associate said I had to pay 25 copay. After rebuttal, associate took glasses to manager (not lens professional) and she said they were scratched.

How can a lens professional say "yes defective coating BUT..." and a manager say "scratched"?? I had to call corporate to get them involved and get the 25 copay waived. NEVER AGAIN will I use LC, even if it was the LAST eye place opened. They are unprofessional to accuse of using Windex or another commercial cleaner to clean my glasses (their words). They are out for that extra dollar. After insurance paid for my last pair, I still had to fork out over $350!!! They are way overpriced - their 1-hour lenses are defective and very poor quality!!

LensCrafters had just made me a pair of reading glasses in June. I just needed a new right lens. They would not make just one lens. So I asked what was the price for replacing the SIMPLE single vision lenses; $270 lenses only! I informed them that they just lost a customer for life and I will go somewhere else in the future.

Honestly, I have never liked LensCrafters. I have been getting regular eye exams here since I was about 8 years old (about 17 years now) and I have purchased a few pairs of lenses/frames from time to time. However, I stopped buying their frames and lenses years ago. When you tell them you're there to pick out some new frames/lenses, they will automatically help you out. They pull all different styles out for you. Thinking they can pull the wool over your eyes, they pull the most expensive brands and frames wanting you to fall in love with them and purchase them. I wear contacts as well, so I get lens fittings and all that jazz. It has to be done so I normally come to LensCrafters... I think today was my very last eye exam with them. I'm completely blown away and disgusted.

I was initially told by the nice young woman that my entire exam and fitting would be $86. I said no problem. Then she asked me if I had a AAA card for a discount. I said score and showed her my AAA card. Then she said my total was $113. I said that doesn't make sense. She said that because I'm getting a "contact lens fitting, it costs 55 extra dollars". What? I eventually gave up because she just kept explaining herself over and over and I needed the exam. Then, after my basic tests, she took into the retinal photo booth/room. I thought that this was really strange because at the hundreds of other exams I have had, the retinal images are optional and cost tons of extra money. So once I was with the doctor, I asked if the photos were part of the exam and not optional anymore. 4 times this doctor explained (because I was so very confused) that basically with the AAA discount, the retinal images are complimentary.

So I was supposed to be saving money... When all was said and done, I paid $139.00! What?? I took a good look at the receipt. I was CHARGED for the retinal images. I went home and called another LensCrafters nearby and asked about prices and about retinal images and the AAA discount. Long story short, the LensCrafters in Chula Vista, CA gave me the premium exam without telling me. I should have only paid $107. I'm still confused and still pretty angry. I then called customer service to try and get some of that money back. I will wait and hear back from the manager. It doesn't matter which LensCrafters it is, they are never honest and fair.

On top of it all, I was about to pay and the young woman asks if I want to purchase my contact lenses then and there. I said no, initially because I buy them from an online store and have since I was 13. She tells me that they are $110 a box!! I buy mine for $34 a box online... What?? Where?? How?? I have never and will never understand LensCrafters. I'll take my eyes elsewhere.

Purchased progressive lens glasses from the Lexington Avenue location in NYC on July 25, 2015 during my vacation. The sales associate assured me that due to the fact that my new prescription was not as strong as an older 2009 prescription the new lens would be thinner and at the least the same thickness as my current older glasses. I went to pick my glasses up the next day. I noticed that the lens were thicker than my older glasses which had a stronger prescription. Prior to making my decision to make the purchase I advised the sales associate that I would prefer a thin lens. She assured me that due to that fact that my previous purchase was with them that the lens would be "thinner" because the prescription was not as strong. When I complained, they took my old and new glasses in the back for the technician to compare.

Long story short. Instead of addressing my concerns, they conveniently decided to criticize the quality and make of my older glasses which I purchased from another Lenscrafters location. OLDER GLASSES HAVE STRONGER PRESCRIPTION thinner lens. NEW GLASSES with NEW PRESCRIPTION - SAME PROGRESSIVE LENS (PRESCRIPTION NOT AS STRONG AS OLDER GLASSES) LOOK LIKE MAGNIFYING GLASS. STORE #0579... 44th and Lex... Unfortunately, as a consumer our hands are tied. I'm not 100% sure that I actually have PROGRESSIVES. I lived in NM and at the time I scheduled an eye exam with a doctor locally and they failed to mention they did not take my eye insurance and that they weren't the same company I had called so I was out of luck in getting an eye exam. I went over to Lenscrafters and I was able to make an eye appointment for the next day. I had the same eye doctor for 10 years and they had always giving me a lower prescription for whatever reason, I had headaches from the glasses they'd give me. I went to Lenscrafters and they not only gave me a correct prescription they suggested a different lens that was better for my eyes.

Now, if you don't have eye insurance glasses WILL BE EXPENSIVE. I don't know why everyone thinks you should skimp on eye care, but if you have to wear glasses pay for quality. I have very good eye insurance and the frames have always been covered but because I have a high prescription and need quality lenses, the lenses are very expensive. I have never had a problem with the quality at Lenscrafters. For somewhere around $40 you get insurance for a year that you can replace the lenses and/or the frames for like 25 dollars when you go in. They're the best retailer of glasses I've ever had. I love them. If you're mad because of the prices, maybe it's because glasses aren't cheap if you want quality. If you want cheap glasses, then you must not be too serious about your eyesight. I hate spending money but I am all for spending money to not have headaches, to see clearly, and to not have to worry if I accidentally break them.

The left eye lense had serious issue of blurry vision. It took me 6 rounds of visit to their shop to get the required attention and deciding that the doctor needs to examine the prescription again. It was done yesterday and the conclusion was that prescription is fine and it is the polycarbonate lenses quality that is a problem. I have been turned back mentioning that nothing can be done with polycarbonate lenses and I can go for hi-density plastic lenses which will cost me another 210 dollars. That should perhaps resolve the problem. This is so surprising and shocking experience as a consumer. I found it extremely important to share with all.

I decided to get an eye exam there and give them another try since years had passed since my first experience with them. After receiving my glasses and waiting the recommended 3-4 weeks to get used to the new Rx, I went back to Lenscrafters to find they had gone out of business and completely vacated the premises. A letter was on the window saying to travel to the next town an hour and a half away. I was furious because they had to have known they were leaving when I had my exam.

They were indignant on the phone about my situation and acted like it was my problem to travel almost 4 hours round trip and waste my time and gas for a situation I did not choose and was not informed about. The only solution they offered to have my follow up exam to remedy the Rx and have another pair of glasses made was to travel to this distant location or put my glasses in a box and return them by mail. They were very rude about my problem, created by them, and offered very little guarantee that my insurance benefits would be completely reversed because I was going to have to start all over again with another provider should I mail the glasses back to them for a refund. After several attempts to gain help from this company and gaining nothing but feelings of frustrations and disgust, I want to share with others so that they can learn from my experience. For a while now, it appears that the coating on my glasses are flaking, making it extremely difficult to see. The glasses were purchased in November, so I feel that the lenses should NOT look like this, especially after spending $500.00+. After a while I could not take it any longer and felt like I needed to do something about it. I took them to a LensCrafters today to see if there was anything they could do to help me. They said that they couldn't do anything but directed me to the original store where I purchased the glasses to see about speaking with the technician who provided the lenses.

Additionally, on multiple occasions, the screws fall out of the frames causing it to come apart. Since the frames were Brooks Brothers' frames they were able to give me new frames, so I was grateful to see a company actually back their product. So, Thank you Brooks Brothers. Feeling frustrated I drove to the original store to see if they could help me out. I spoke with the woman who originally sold me the glasses. She looked at the frames and blamed me for the defect on the lenses. She said if I had purchased the warranty I would only have to pay $25 to get new lenses. I would have been fine with that if I felt like it was my fault, however it is clear there is a defect on the lenses. During the first visit I was talked into purchasing all of the additional features I could, so why did she not explain to me the importance of purchasing the warranty? Because I was convinced these lenses would be invincible.

At this point my glasses are unwearable. I would have been better off flushing my $500 down the drain. Feeling hopeless after wasting my insurance allotment on this terrible company, I decided to go to Vision Works to see how much it would cost to purchase new lenses. I showed them the lenses and before I could say anything they said this is absolutely a defect. I then shared my experience with them and they encouraged me to call the corporate company since they are clearly defected lenses.

Additionally, they also contacted LensCrafters, and told me that LensCrafters should be in contact with me. After a few hours of no contact, I decided to call the LensCrafters 1800 number and after 5 minutes of not getting anywhere and being told it is essentially my fault I decided that I'm not going to get through to this company. I am done wasting my time, energy, and money on a company who appears to care more about making money rather than making sure their customers are satisfied. I will be taking my business elsewhere and I will encourage everyone else to as well, especially my students. You heard me. They treated an elementary school teacher this way.

I called to inquire if this was normal, as other glasses that I own (not from LensCrafters) have not faded out. They said I'd have to buy new lenses! No way, I'm going to Costco. These guys are cheats. They just want to get your money and don't care whether they screw you over with your insurance provider and your yearly allowance. I went in there for an eye exam and to order my contacts; the day of my eye exam they told me that they took VSP and so I decided to get my eye exam at their office. However, a week later when I returned to order my contact lens, they informed me that I would need to pay out of pocket for my contacts as VSP informed them that I had no more allowance left. When I called VSP, I was told that since Lenscrafters is out of network, the exam and the contact lens fix exam was taken out of my allowance. I was really disappointed by this experience, and would never return to them for any service and make no one else I know will use them.

I clearly told them NOT to overnight them but they did anyway even when the associate that was helping me told the manager I had asked them not to. Another wasted trip. I then decided to shop around for other Frames and found Lenscrafters were advertising 50% off kids' Frames and Lenses. After finding Frames (Easytwist) priced at $139.99 I handed over the Lens Prescription and the sales associate began the pricing, $139.99 for the frames and $315 for the Lenses with Transitions for a total of $454.99! After the 50% off sale was applied the total dropped to $233.00, oddly enough about the same price as the everyday price at the Optometrists! They hike the prices and then have "Sales." I will never recommend Lenscrafters to anyone - they are SCAM artists.

I wish I would've did a little research and read a few reviews before going to Lenscrafters, but unfortunately I didn't. I went there for an eye exam to update my prescription for glasses and contacts. The actual eye exam costed $189 and went very well. The doctor was very nice and professional. The nightmare started after the eye exam when the other employees inherited the task of showing me my options for glasses, lenses, etc.

The employee who was taking my order for glasses had absolutely no idea what she was doing. Couldn't answer ANY questions I had about the lenses I wanted, and another employee had to come over to help her several times. I paid $400 for some glasses, waited a week to get them and I STILL don't think they're the right ones. The exam was done on February 3rd and I STILL haven't received my contacts prescription and it's February 19th.

I get the run around every time I call about it so I took a trip back to the store today to pick it up in person. The receptionist had no idea who I was, no records, no information whatsoever. Thus, no prescription. I was told that the doctor wasn't in today so I'd have to come back. No one there could help me. I've been to thrift stores more organized and with better customer service than this place. NEVER again would I go to Lenscrafters for ANYTHING and I'd advise anyone who reads this to do the same.

Today I went to Lenscrafters in Sterling, VA to get my three week old glasses repaired or replaced. I just got them back a few weeks ago, when I wanted to get the lenses replaced because they were getting scratched. They actually gave me completely new lenses and frames because I had the insurance. This time was different. I walked in and stood in the middle of the store. After a few minutes one of the associates asked me to sit in one of the seats up front, which I did. A new older couple came in and after 15 minutes one of the associates wanted on them for a new fitting. Then a family came in and a different associate waited on them picking up glasses.

Now about 25 minutes has passed and I am getting irritated. Then another couple came in with a baby and sat down next to me. Now the associate that waited on the family asked them what they were here for, instead of me, and they politely pointed out that I was there first. Now I'm angry! I asked why there wasn't a sign in sheet, so that you can appropriately wait in the correct customer. She then hinted that there was a sign in sheet somewhere but had no idea where it was. They obviously weren't using it. Then I described my problem with my new glasses that the hinge was falling apart and these were only a few weeks old.

She made a 2 minute attempt to repair them and then stated that I would need to get the frames replaced. Then we went over to the computer and it took her three times to get my phone number right, originally stating that I must have used another number. She finally found my record and stated that I didn't have insurance and would have to pay for new lenses. I told her these were new glasses that were just replaced a few weeks ago with the insurance that I purchased. Now, I'm really done with this store! She asked if I wanted to speak with the manager on duty to see what he could do. I said NO and I will never come back, ever again. This is some of the worst customer service and frames. I will never shop at a Lenscrafters and will tell everyone I meet to do the same.

P.S. I always had to wait more than an hour and a half, at least. Last time I went to pick up these new glasses, that already broke, they asked me to come back the following day, was they had a problem with the glasses and broke them! REALLY! Not only were they not ready within the time they said, but I had to return the next day?! Do yourself and all your friends a favor, find another eye glass company!

While I was happy with my dr. visit today in Trumbull CT, the dr. was very nice. I am appalled at how expensive it is to buy a pair of glasses. I picked out a 179.00 Ray-Ban frame and was told that with the 40% discount. The total with lenses would be over 600 dollars (original price was over 800). I literally almost fell over in my chair. She finally got me down to about 450 but not ordering the very thin lenses (I have a very high prescription which means thick lenses). I loved the frames so much i went with it.

When I got home i was still reeling from how much money I spent on glasses. I started doing research and found the exact frame on Amazon for almost half the price. Needless to say I called to cancel my order and that was not an easy task. The person who answered told me I couldn't cancel because they were already being manufactured. I told him "I was just there an hour ago and was told it was going to take 2 weeks." There is no way they are working on them already. So basically I said "ok." The only thing for me to do then is return them after I get them since there is a 30 money back guarantee. He said "ok." I told him this was ridiculous to go ahead and make a pair of glasses I don't want when he can just cancel my order.

He then agrees to cancel it but said I have to go back today to sign something saying 'I give permission to void my credit card.' I told him "that isn't happening. I just got home and I live 30 min away." So we are back to making the glasses and me just returning them (lame). I hang up and call back asking to speak to a manager. Of course the same guy I spoke to is the manager. He then says I can come in tomorrow to sign whatever it is I need to sign. I told him I don't know if that's possible.

Long story short, after I hang up, I get a voicemail saying he talked to his regional manager and would cancel my order without me having to come in and sign anything. I mean really??? I should have had no problem cancelling an order I placed no more than 2 hours ago! This place is crazy overpriced. Waiting to get my frames from Amazon and I will be heading elsewhere for my lenses. I know I am going to save myself some money for what they wanted me to originally pay for glasses today. I could go on a week long vacation! Good Lord!

Bought frames (employee lied about ordering online and got my info incorrect). Ordered prescription (told it would take at least 4 weeks). Item successfully delivered (no card received, signed by nobody). Phoned lenscrafters, said it was already delivered. Phoned post office, (unable to give any information, had to call manager). Called manager, confirmed it was delivered to mailbox. Called lenscrafters again, confirmed it was sent to my address. Went to landlady with info, she sent out polite note for person to return it.

Checked online to see what I can do (only sender can send service ticket/claim about missing packages). Called Lenscrafter, manager wasn't in. Called Lenscrafters at 3pm (Monday), got machine saying they're closed. Called Lenscrafters, manager not in until tomorrow. Contacted BBB Manitoba with complaint (Complaints on LensCrafters are done by Cincinnati). Lenscrafters tried to reach me (I returned call soon after and manager 'just stepped out). Contacted BBB Cincinnati with same complaint. Lenscrafters returned call, apologized and re-ordered my glasses. LensCrafters called to confirm address. Received new glasses (eye strain, dizziness, and slight nausea from wearing)... the center of focus seems a little off but I give up at this point and will just try to adapt.

The following Monday, after going all weekend without my glasses, received a call from someone at the store. They informed me that they were going to replace the temple that was broken. When I asked what time I could pick it up, was told at 6:00 PM. Did not know it took that many hours to replace a temple. Went to the store to pick it up and had wanted to speak to the manager. Of course the manager was gone for the day.( wonder if that was why they wanted me to come at 6:00 PM.

Received a call the next day from the Regional Manager. She was very apologetic about everything and from the questions she asked, was evident she had done some investigation of the matter. My conversation with the Regional Manager led me to believe that my poor treatment at the store was not indicative of the Corporate Culture. They need to better train their Managers on better customer relations. Because these low level staff are making the company look bad. Will increase my rating to 3.

    Original Review: Jan. 11, 2015

Went to LensCrafters at Quail Springs Mall in Oklahoma City to get lens adjusted in frames. Asked technician to adjust the temple. In the process, he broke it. Frames were barely a year old. Tech offered me new frames at 50% off. I asked him why I should pay a penny. My frames were okay when I brought them to the store. He broke them. Then he sweetened the deal by offering me 80% off. Refused to buy new frames. Technician called the manager who asked tech to inform me that he was 300 miles away and would not be in the office till Monday.

These frames cost the company less than $10.00. Yet they sell it to customers for hundreds of dollars, claiming they use the extra charge to defray the cost of equipment used in making the lens. I did not need new lenses. I just wanted my frames replaced. Yet they would not do it. Technician informed that the manager wanted me to come to the store on Monday because that is when he was going to be at the store. I left my glasses there and am without the ability to see clearly at the moment. After reading some of the complaints on this site, I have the idea that such treatment of customers is the norm at LensCrafters. I do not ever intend to conduct any business with them in the future and will spread the word to as many people as possible. It is shame. One wonders if they even care.

Back story: In June, a week after buying my car, I was hit by a dump truck. Whether it was during the bit where I was snowploughed along the highway or when I was spinning around and around across the highway, the side of my head hit the window breaking the arm off my glasses, they fell to the floor and I must have stepped on them when I got out. No way I had the money for new glasses - the lenses alone ran me over $400 at a local optician - so I rooted around until I found an old pair in the back of a drawer. They were seriously demo'd. The problem is that while driving at night, oncoming cars, wet pavement, etc, caused bad flaring to the point I was virtually blind.

One night, an oncoming pickup didn't dip his beams. The light flared my glasses completely out and I didn't see that the road was curving so my right wheels left the pavement. Getting back onto the road, I mistook the yellow line for the white line and over corrected onto the wrong side of the road. Naturally, the nice officer following right behind me wanted to know if I'd been drinking. Not one drop (I just don't if there's a chance I'll be driving) so good for me there but then he wanted to know why my glasses were so dirty. I didn't think before I replied they're not, that's just how they are. He then gave me a verbal warning to get them fixed immediately or I'd be charged with impaired or even dangerous driving.

The only place within a two hour drive of my tiny town who could give me the exam was Walmart in Barrie, Ontario. I then called Hakim who couldn't help. The lady at Hakim put me on hold and called around before telling me to go to LensCrafters at the Georgian Mall. I called over first just in case and Sherri pulled the lenses as we spoke on the phone. Even though it was less than two hours before closing, she said they would be ready.

When it comes to buying glasses, I loathe the chore. I never know what looks good. Sherri was brutally honest and with her clever eye and excellent taste, she had me in a pair I just adore within five minutes. Literally, I tried on four pairs of glasses and the second and third would have been fine but the fourth is divine. These glasses are wizard: I can look directly at headlights now and they don't bother me at all in the slightest! The arms are stylish but the detailing has so many perforations that my peripheral vision is not impaired in the slightest. Absolutely I would go back in a heartbeat.

My glasses broke a couple of minutes before I walked into the class I teach at a major university. I went to LensCrafters the next day and orders glasses. Even with insurance they cost almost $500. I was told I would have to wait for the glasses for 7 to 10 business days. I waited the time I was told. Called the store once, told they would be coming in the next day and they would call when they arrived. Received no call so I called again. Was told they would call the lab and call me right back. Again no call so I called again. This time they called the lab while I was on hold. Finally they told me they broke the lens the previous Monday and my glasses won't be sent out any earlier than this coming Monday (today is Thursday).

Fortunately, I had held onto a pair of glasses from two prescriptions ago because my broken glasses were completely unwearable. I could not see with them and I certainly could not read to do my job. Forget about driving. When I do not have my glasses, I cannot function. I explained all this to the person at the Turkey Creek store and said the situation was acceptable. The last time I ordered glasses, they had measured incorrectly for fitting the bifocal and those glasses had to be remade with a delay of another ten days waiting for the new pair. If I have to do that again, it will mean my glasses this time take more than a month.

Sorry, LensCrafters I am done with you. I will have to warn people I know away from your business. It is unacceptable that a company of your size cannot make glasses for people with high plus prescriptions in the fireplace and then cannot deliver glasses as promised in the second. It is also unacceptable that you cannot do anything for people who break glasses and need them to see while waiting a very long time for new ones.

I am sure this post will be taken down as soon as the owners of this page read it. But I want people to know what they are doing. I am in Racine Wisconsin. I purchased a warranty on a pair of frames that I broke. I did not need new lenses. My eye doctor said my eyes were good. So to be honest with everyone I am not rich. Not many people are. I live from paycheck to paycheck. I do not spend money on myself because I have 8 kids. That is where all my money goes to. Anything and everything they need.

So when my frames broke I went to where I thought would be good. I paid over $189 just for frames. They talked me into buying a warranty. I addressed the fact that I was not getting new lenses and they said that was not a problem. If my frames ever broke that I could get new frames. That if they were not in stock that I could get anything I wanted and pay the difference. Just get something close in size to my lenses. Okay. They would be able to do that. So when less than a year later my little one broke my glasses I went into the store. They said they did not have the frames I had and that I would either have to live with broken frames that were half on my face till I could afford to pay for new lenses. I said I found a few pair of frames that were the same shape. They told me I can buy new lenses. I told them I do not have that kind of money. I told them what was told to me by the very same lady who is now telling me they will not help me. She said that they cannot help me. I asked for the manager’s name and number and left.

What is a joke is it got worse from there. The headquarters treated me even worse. Well that was not at first. I talked to a very nice lady. Who said they would send me a refund in the mail and I would get it in a few weeks. Now it was for the original value of my glasses. I thought wow. That is so nice. I was taking my husband to work because I thought if they were able to help me I could get a new pair of frames that day. Now I was on speaker and my husband was like wow. I told them I would call them back. I was given the ladies extension. But it all went downhill from there.

I called back. Then I talked to a lady who said they never logged a call from me. More less the two calls I made and over an hour I spent on the phone. Then I was told there is no such thing as extensions at their work. (I did get into it with the manager later on. But God forbid. You to ask for manager or supervisor because they will not let you talk to one. But when you do explain to them, 'When you call a coworkers phone to let them know something is going on from inside the work you dial a 4 digit extension. He said yes. I said good. Here it is. Then he said there was no such thing again. But he will look into it. But a joke like everything else that happen).

I went on to talk to this nasty lady for an hour. Where she put me down. Made fun of me because I did not know the number I was using because it was my daughter’s new cell phone. I said well the last lady I talked to was able to see it on the caller ID and that it’s that number. But this lady said I never talked to anyone before her and they do not have caller ID. Then went on to make fun of me. Telling me how do you not know your own number. I asked for a supervisor at that point I was so mad. But she would not let me speak to the guy. Overwhelmed I hung up.

She said she had to call the store back and discuss it with them. So 15 mins later I called back. Seeing they already called the store once before. I told them I wanted to talk to the supervisor right away. I wanted to file a complaint against the store and their poor customer service people. But then they kept going on about how I cannot keep calling till I get the result I want. I did finally get the guy. But he said they had no record of me calling before. I said fine use the recoding of my last call and see how bad the lady treated me. But they said they would not do that. He went on to tell me that when I hung up he would the finish my complaint. But not after explaining to me that because I filed a complaint they could reshape my lenses "But because of the complaint they might just break them and then what would I do without glasses I would have to buy them anyway." I told them “I would not be up sold.” That I cannot believe they would threaten me like that. They said it’s not a threat it can happen. He told me that he would not give me the name of the lady I talked to first. That it’s privacy issues. That the district manager would be calling or the storeowner would be calling me in 24-48 hours.

But they never did call me. Don't get me wrong after I did force them in the store to go into the company website they did order my frames that were no longer made. But they could not tell me if I would get anything that I liked just a pair of frames. It took 2 weeks for that call and I am disabled and have not had a chance to get in to pick them up I have got a few nasty calls about if I was so despite to make a report and complain that I should have come in to pick them up. But just so you know everyone>............ IF YOU ARE POOR YOU WILL BE TREATED LIKE CRAP AND IF YOU ARE DISABLE YOU GET TREATED LIKE CRAP!!! Do not let them talk you into getting the warranty because they have so many ways to up sale you into things. I would never go back here. I would also tell people that live in this area to RUN. I know this is a poor area and why go here when you can get nicer people and better service somewhere else? But look at me. A mother of 8 kids who is disable who now cannot afford new glasses and I look funny because of my broken glasses. I have purchased multiple pairs of glasses from Lenscrafters over the years for my family. I have had a few bad experiences, understanding that mistakes happen and eventually they were corrected. I returned once again because I have progressive lenses and wanted to be sure that they were correctly made and Lenscrafters does stand behind and will replace if not right.

However, I just picked up a BRAND NEW pair of glasses - waited 50 minutes for help at the store - and left an hour before they closed. When I got home and put the glasses back on, they were smudged where they had to adjust my frames and apparently smeared the lens. I noticed a scratch in the bottom of my lens - it almost appeared to be "in the plastic." The store was then closed when I found the defect. I called the following morning and asked that they order a new lens - they stated they could not without "seeing" it first. I live an hours drive away from the store and they insisted that I must bring it in before they will reorder the lens. I could understand if they were even a week old, but I JUST PICKED THEM UP less than 24 hours - OF NOTE, THEY ARE LENSCRAFTERS PREMIUM POLY - SCRATCH RESISTANT LENS. This will be the LAST TIME I USE LENSCRAFTERS.

I took my daughter to Lenscrafters to have her eyes checked and she was given a prescription for OD - 1.25 and OS 1.00 for glasses on 8/6/12. She wanted to try contacts so we went back on 4/4/2013. The new prescription was for OD - .75 and OS - .75. We did not realize until after she was getting headaches and after Lenscrafters had sold us 6 months of contacts past the date they normally require that eyes be rechecked, that this prescription was weaker than her previous one and was causing her vision problems, not helping them.

Thankfully, because our insurance now includes vision checkups, we went to Park Nicollet where we saw real eye doctors and discovered that Lenscrafters was in error in both their eye checkup and in selling us additional contacts past the time when it says on their documentation that they should be selling them.

What is so shocking is that they accept no blame and gave nothing back in the way of a credit. I called twice and went into the store.

I will never go back to Lenscrafters and will make an effort to warn everybody I talk to about eye care to avoid them. Be very wary of this company and watch everything they do. They are very good at collecting money and I spent plenty of it with them. They do not stand behind their service or their products.

LENSCRAFTERS - Avoid this chain! I escalated the matter via my BBB complaint and then had input from David ** at HQ and it was agreed that LensCrafters would make up just one lens. (** Rx Operations Manager **). On Sat. 10/26 I returned to the Kennesaw location and had extensive discussions with the Manager and an Associate regarding a price issue. I had been told on 10/17 that the cost for 2 lenses would be $110. On the 26th I was told that they would, as per their HQ make up one lens and the cost would be $110! My opinion was that the cost should be in the area of $55-60 or half what they had wanted for making up 2. They would not agree to this and decided to take my contact info and contact HQ for further instructions. It is now a 'don't call us - we'll call you situation' as they will supposedly contact HQ for guidance. I am still waiting to hear from them!

Their treatment of a returning customer who had last year purchased 3 pair of lenses and glasses from them and had been impressed enough to tell the manager of that time that the associate helping him had done a great job, tells me that this firm has absolutely no concern about customers and no desire to encourage customer loyalty to their brand. They seem to exist entirely for what goes into their cash register that business day and never mind any long term concepts of taking care of 'old' customers or encouraging future visits. They are just interested in how much $ they can wring out of customers that day.

I have since determined that there is great dissatisfaction with consumers regarding this firm, with 447 complaints to the BBB, over 3 years and 96 complaints on the site **. I have established 8 blog sites in anticipation of additional nonsense from LensCrafters and they will 'go active' if/when LensCrafters HQ decides that it is just fine for them to attempt to charge $110 for the one lens. Misc. I see from my site meters that LensCrafters HQ in Mason, Ohio IP Address: Luxottica (66.161.213.180) has been looking at my site 5 times in the last 2 days. I hope they learn something from my comments. As things stand now they have a very poor reputation and have some really stupid corporate policies.

I purchased my glasses in June 2014 for $600.00 at Lenscrafters. About a month ago I noticed that there was like a fog spot on the lens. Today I finally had time to go back in and see what was wrong. The salesperson said, “The coating is coming off. It is not something you have done intentionally. Perhaps it's hairspray (which I do not use), or some other chemical has come in contact with them.” I responded to her that I have worn glasses all of my life and I have never had this happen before. I am very careful with my glasses and they did not come in contact with a chemical or hairspray. Luckily, I purchased the insurance and will get a new pair for $25.00 copay. Had I not purchased the insurance I would either have to live with these spots right in my line of vision or pay for new glasses.

It is a shame that the company cannot own up to the fact that there is obviously something wrong with the coating that they use, whether intentional or not. The glasses that I had before these, I wore them for three years with no problems. I wear my glasses full time and have never seen this before. I have always used other companies. This is my first time using Lenscrafters and I can tell you when I need to replace these glasses I will go elsewhere. Oh and by the way the new co-pay is now $50.00, which I found out changed on 10/1/14 only by going in the store. She did honor the $25.00 and I will have new glasses in two weeks.

I have used Lenscrafters at the Greenwood Mall for many years. I have a particularly difficult time getting a good prescription and then a good fit for glasses since I became disabled 8 years ago. I liked Lenscrafters because they advertised that if you were dissatisfied for any reason you could return or replace your glasses. I will be the first to admit I probably wouldn't want to see me walk in the door but I didn't establish the policies the employees have to work with.

A couple of months ago I went in to have a pair of glasses adjusted and was happy to see an employee who I trusted was there and after adjusting my glasses in discussing the fact that I had not purchased there and had found out that where I did get them did not have licensed opticians that I would like to come back there for my next pair of glasses, this is where it became unprofessional. She told me very in a matter of fact manner that I was not welcome to do that. She could not do that then took me on a tour of my account in the computer of returns or exchanges I had made and told me to go anyplace but there. I can appreciate what she was saying but she made me feel like a teacher scolding a bad child.

Trust me no one feels worse about my disability than me and I wouldn't give her the satisfaction but after I walked out of there I was in tears. I waited until a Sunday when the store manager was there alone and went in to tell him what happened and he was very kind and agreed with me that it was mishandled and told me because of tough economic times that the company was changing many of its policies on returns. I can understand that but will never forget how embarrassed and humiliated I felt. Lenscrafters has lost a customer - perhaps they will be happy!

Then he told me that someone stole 20 pair of sunglasses from the store.. I said I was so sorry to hear that, then a sales associate came and started to take my order... After a while she told that my original frame is bent from several points so I had to choose another one.. Then I went to check on the frames..

Meanwhile I asked my wife to sit outside with my young daughters since it would be better to keep them off the store since they are only 8 and 4 years old... 3 mins later, I found a pair and asked the lady how much it would cost with prescription lenses.. She went in and then came after 5 mins saying that they are not made for prescription so I better get something else... I went back to the displays and chose another pair but meanwhile The General Manager Mr. ** came and asked her to take care of another customer... Before she has done with taking my order... And btw that customer came to the store at least 20 mins later than me...

I patiently went back to my seat and started to wait for my sales associate.. But 15 mins later, I had enough of waiting and asked the manager why she is busy with another customer instead of taking care of my order... And he said he was a "SERIOUS" customer so he thought she has to take care of him in the first place and I can leave if I want to... And he expressed that it is the "Company Policy", Lenscrafters is a big company and free to do anything they like to do... And after that I left the store but shortly I went back to get the manager's card...

The sales associate came to me and told me that she was sorry but there is not much she could do about that and I said it wasn't fair to treat me like that and that time Manager came back and told me that he won't let me to "chew" her like that as if I was harsh to her with my words... I don't know what is wrong with the General Manager but I never treated like this in my life, accused of anything and escorted out of the store this way when I have done nothing... I have been a loyal customer for years and after all those years, I cannot accept to be treated like this by any means AT ALL...

I fell and broke my metal frames and Lenscrafters said they could not fix them. Maybe I am wrong, but I feel a big name company like Lenscrafters should be able to at least temporarily fix glasses until the new ones come in. I wear Varilux progressives, everyday - all day. They are my only pair as they are very expensive, and I need them to work and perform daily functions, meaning I cannot function without them. They are unwearable and I am at a great loss and I am experiencing pain and suffering. Anyway, I ordered a replacement pair of Varilux lenses and frames, which they can't make in-house and I have to wait 2 weeks for. So then I asked them what I should do in the interim as I can't see out of my broken pair and they to order another inexpensive pair of progressives ($350) that they can make in-house to wear until the Varilux lenses comes in. So I picked out another pair of frames and then they went in the back and then came back out and said they can't make my prescription in-house and I asked why and they said because they don't have the machinery. Again, a big name like that, shouldn't they have the machinery to do so to help someone in an emergency? I can't be the only one with a problem like this, can I?

At the end of January 2014, I ordered new frames and lenses. By March, I noticed that spots were appearing on one of the lenses and also what looked like a scratch. I am super careful with my glasses, and when I'm not wearing them, they are always in my glass case. I have had glasses for many years, and have never had an issue with my lenses before. I always order the best lenses because I need to protect an injured eye that I have.

In March, I made my another trip into their store to show them what was happening. The entire time, the girl basically blamed the problem on me. She said it must be the case that I'm keeping them in (even though this is a soft case, which is specifically used for this purpose, and I've used this case with 3 other pairs of glasses and never had a problem). She said sometimes small pebbles get into the case and scratch the lenses. Really??? I had paid the extra money for the insurance coverage for a year, so she said they would replace the lenses and that there is usually a $25.00 fee, but she could waive that fee only once.

The lenses were ordered, fit into my frames and I was content with the problem being taken care of. Then the problem started again...by May, both lenses were developing dots and scratches again. They weren't too bad so I didn't head back to them right away. In the passing months, they were getting bad enough to the point that I had a hard time seeing clearly through them. So, today, I make another trip into the store and showed them what was happening again.

Before I went there today, I took the time to read hundreds of reviews online, about this business, and I couldn't believe all the problems that people were having with their glasses! The same girl waited on me today, as did the first time, and needless to say, she wasn't very nice. She proceeded to tell me that the scratches and spots are the protective coating coming off, but that it isn't a defect. She said that it is some kind of chemical that is coming into contact with them and making the coating come off.

She said I'm probably putting my hairspray on while I'm wearing my glasses. Are you kidding me??? For one, I never wear glasses in the bathroom and two, who would wear them while applying hairspray. She also said that it could be my eyelashes brushing against the lenses, and if I have mascara on, then that would also scratch them. By this time, I was getting upset because she was doing the same thing that all the review were saying... She was coming up with every excuse in the world why it was my fault and in no way could it be their problem.

I explained to her that I had just read hundreds of reviews online and more than half of them were experiencing the same problems that I was. Her response was, "Well, it's not happening to EVERYONE so what do you want me to do?" I really wanted my money back so that I could go elsewhere, but as usual, they wouldn't do that. She said they would replace the lenses again but this time I would have to pay the $25.00 copay. I asked her when this happens again, do I just keep coming back every few months to get new lenses and she told me that paying the copay is a lot cheaper than having to pay for new glasses again.

I told her that maybe someone in the company needs to address this issue, because apparently, it's happening to a huge amount of people. Again, she said that it's not happening to everyone so this is the best that she can do. I'm sorry, but glasses are extremely expensive and for the hundreds of dollars that people are spending, we should not be getting a defective product. Basically, she was not willing to do anything else, so she ordered me a new set of lenses and out I went.

In the past, I always went to my own eye doctor for my exam and glasses, but he just doesn't carry a big selection of frames so I decided to look elsewhere. My mistake was that I should have gotten online and read the reviews for this business before I ever started shopping there. In the future, I will NEVER order another thing from this company and I will definitely spread the word about my experience with them!! FYI...I went to their store in North Olmstead, Ohio.

The store members said they could make them again, but they would still be the same (WTF? But no big scene from us). Requested a refund to my debit card. Girl said computers had not been working all day (this was after 4:30 so how did they process orders that day?). She said she would call for my card number later. Offered us the standard $25 for our trouble (only if we re-ordered). We declined that insulting offer.

We went to another place and ordered two pairs of glasses on the same prescription for $559. While getting gasoline the Lenscrafter girl called and got my debit number. Said her machines were still down, but she could process the return. Nothing in my account the next day. So I called national customer service to see when I could expect my money. She was nice and said it could happen immediately or maybe in 3-5 days. I told her that was business decision by the big company to hold onto millions of dollars in returns with a slow repayment so they can collect interest before returning the money. No disagreement from her. She said I could call her back tomorrow. I said can't you text me or email? So she took my wife's email and mine to notify us.

I was told by the doctor that the opticians within the store would provide this to me, to complete my prescription. When I asked the store manager (optician) for my PD, he indicated that this was only done by their computers and only if I agreed to purchase a set of frames. Furthermore, he misrepresented that PD was dependent upon the frame of glasses I was to purchase, when in fact PD is medically defined as the distance, in millimeters, between the centers of the pupils in each eye. The experience seems to indicate a marketing strategy to create sales by limiting important prescription information that patients are entitled to when they ask and pay for the service.

It is now less than 6 months later and there is a crack in the left lens slowly moving its way up from the bottom of my glasses. WHAT? In a million years, I would never have thought that Lenscrafters would not stand behind their product. I take very good care of my glasses; I cannot afford to replace them every year or two so I have been able to keep some pairs of glasses for YEARS without breakage, cracking, etc. It is beyond my comprehension that in this short amount of time, Lenscrafters can send me on my way, with no help at all and a refusal to take any responsibility for this obvious defect or poor workmanship. A properly made pair of glasses does NOT begin cracking in less than 6 months. I'm very disappointed in Lenscrafters as a whole. I went to Lenscrafters 18 months ago for an eye exam and glasses. I paid the additional money for the extensive exam and was told I have a cataract. So I made an appointment with a top eye clinic to have a lens replacement. But after an examination, the doctor told me that I DON'T have a cataract. Cataracts are on the front of the eye and I have some kind of leakage BEHIND the eye! I'm getting treatments for that condition. So now that we know the kind of DOCTORS that work at Lenscrafters, what about the rest of the staff?

Well I ordered some prescription sunglasses and when they arrived, I decided I would prefer to upgrade to progressive lenses, like my reading glasses. I went back to the store and paid the money and gave them the glasses. Then I waited and called, waited and called, etc. It took more than THREE MONTHS for the glasses to arrive. Once they told me to come in and pick them up, but they hadn't actually arrived.

My reading glasses on the other hand, fell apart after about a year. The left arm came off and Lenscrafters replaced the plastic gasket in the lens. But the repair only lasted two weeks. So I went back and they "fixed them" again. This time, it lasted one day. So I went back and asked how long a repair should last. At this point they said I was beyond the warranty and shooed me away. I watched them sell a bottle of glasses cleaner to a guy, telling him that when he runs out, "just go to Costco and they will refill it for free!"

So they are encouraging their customers to rip off another business, which if you know anything about Costco, is one store that actually DOES care about their customers. Unbelievable! So I googled a guy in Glendale who fixes glasses and for $7, he fixed my glasses correctly. I will NEVER go to Lenscrafters again. I was told, but still nearly $700 for two pairs of glasses) for the frames I'd picked for glasses and sunglasses, when I realized the mistake had been made. PLEASE NOTE: I realized it, not the "professionals" who were there to serve me. The salesperson rushed next door to get the prescription corrected, and then upped the price by several hundred dollars, whereupon I asked for my prescription and left. The manager--I assume he was the manager--had been hovering, no doubt aware of LensCrafters' liability, but offered no compensation for what could have been a very dangerous mistake. I then went to my local pharmacy and saved hundreds of dollars, choosing from an excellent selection of frames. This is the second time LensCrafters has made an extremely time-wasting and costly mistake; the first time, I spent a weekend with no glasses because LensCrafters had screwed up the prescription, but this time LensCrafters took the loss after wasting my afternoon. Let me assure you, I will NEVER go to LensCrafters again, and I will make sure I make your ineptitude as public as I can.

BUYER BEWARE I recently purchased glasses at Oracle Road Lenscrafters but my lens prescription was not returned to me. I provided this prescription by way of my personal ophthalmologist, NOT a Lenscrafters employee/Doc. Two phone calls to Lenscrafters resulted in them promising to send me my property, they paid for prescription, but it never arrived. Today's third call resulted in their representative telling me I was out of luck and they would be keeping the prescription. My request for a copy of same was also denied.

The greater problem is that recently after purchasing the eyeglasses I began to have significant vision problems and wished to have the prescription professionally compared with the actual lenses. However, Lenscrafters refused my request and told me they would not return my property, or a copy of same. BUYER BEWARE! I will be seeing my ophthalmologist, more $, next week in hope of regaining normal sight.

I purchased a pair of Prada glass frames with my prescription on February 4th. I love the frames. I went on vacation and while away I was cleaning the glasses one morning and the frame came apart in my hand. I cannot see without my glasses so I was taken to the Mall in the country I was in and they looked for about 30 minutes to find an arm that would fit my glasses temporarily until I got back home.

I AM SO ANGRY with Lenscrafters. I took the glasses to the store last night at Galleria Mall in Cambridge. The person whom I addressed had a "don't give a **" attitude from the moment I addressed her. She said because I didn't purchase the insurance; there was nothing they could do. I would have to purchase a new pair of frames for $198.00 ... and they would fit my lenses into them. I asked if they had a different frame that would fit and without so much as looking, they told me no. Those glasses were defective.

I was merely cleaning them and the arm came off. The screw inside may have come loose earlier but I just bought them in February. Oh and I am not covered by the 90-day UNCONDITIONAL guarantee because they were broken. I will never go to Lenscrafters again and I am telling everyone I know and posting it on every webpage I can. I think what pissed me off the most was the attitude of the person who waited on me and when she spoke to her manager, he didn't give a ** either...

The doctor was very professional and the lady who helped me pick my glasses was nice friendly and tried to be helpful. But face it, she is sales person and I don't think give me best value. One big disappointment is in the fact that after paying 600.00 she tells me unless I buy the 1 year service plan for another 39.00 my glasses are not covered at all, once I walk out the door. NADA ZIP!! Any company that does not stand behind their product to me is ridiculous. If the glasses are mistreated I understand, but the frame and lenses should be covered for a period of at least 2 years of normal wear.

Also I am disappointed that since they make the lenses in house which I thought overall would save me money, (I bought a much cheaper lens and frame this time than my previous glasses buying a heavier Polycarbonate over the Crizal feather of my previous glasses and I got no antiglare coating) and these new ones are a Vogue frame while my old and best frame is a Marchon Airlock which is a pricier frame, but the cost was actually 39.00 MORE in spite of all the downsizing and my supposed 30% off.

I also feel a big (wth) because they are so limited in style and comfort since they won’t work with (repair) or make any drill mount glasses so everything is either fishing line on the bottom to hold your lens in OR a solid frame all around the lens so you can’t get the truly comfortable floating glasses (like Marchon). Now I have almost nil peripheral vision with so much plastic in a frame (whereas my Marchon glasses almost floated in the air).

After paying now 639.00 (and that is with 30% off) I am out looking for a company to make lenses for my old frames that LensCrafters can’t/won’t work with. (The Marchon with Crizal lenses 1 lens was damaged because the antiglare coating became flaky on year 4.) I would have saved A LOT of money and ended up with the glasses I love which are supremely comfortable and like wearing nothing at all had I gone to a company that worked with drill mounts. I will use the LensCrafters glasses for emergency spare. I will not purchase LensCrafters again...

When we bought the glasses, customer service was excellent but I have had my glasses for 1.5 years and the lens has become very cloudy. My husband looked at the lenses under 15 times magnification and said it looked like the anti-glare film was coming apart. The problem is within the lenses not on the surface. Lens Crafters claims the glasses must have come in contact with a chemical of some kind that caused the reaction and they refuse to offer any repair but will replace them for half price. Some customer service! No Thanks, I'll go elsewhere.

I bought Ray Ban prescription sun glasses...The lenses fell out twice in the first 2 months. I went back to the store across from Mary Esther Mall, in Ft. Walton Beach., FL where I purchased them for $600. They assured me they were fixed the first time...then on my second visit I asked them to replace them. They assured me one more time that it would not happen. Keep in mind I bought replacement insurance... then the other lenses fell out twice again, so I made 2 more separate trips to the LensCrafter store in Cordova Mall, Pensacola, FL. Thinking maybe they had a better tech... they fixed them the first time and told me it would not happen again...then my second time there I asked for them to be replaced that I did not think the glass frames were any good. They assured me 100% they were fixed...now the frame broke on the right side. And the Pensacola store, Donna, told me they would try to improvise the repair to help me to be able to wear them, but the insurance was only for 12 months.

So in actuality they purposely led me on until the 12 months had lapsed. The real kicker to the deal was the store in Pensacola told me that Ray Ban frames were discontinued, so they couldn't replace them if they wanted to. The Pensacola store said they would keep my glasses and call some other stores to see if possibly they might have a set of frames in their inventory. Then she called me and said she had carried my glasses back to the Ft. Walton Beach store...and had patched them up, and I could go there and pick them up.

I did that yesterday. I mentioned I could not believe that none of their stores had a pair of the frames. That tech not knowing what Donna from the Pensacola store had told me, said we could order a set of them. These are the newest ones they stocked from Ray Ban. I did not think I heard her clearly. So I said, "You mean you could order these frames?" She said, "Yes. We do not keep frames in stock in these higher priced frames. We order them in." How about that... I am now going to write Lens Crafters and see if they will stand behind their product at all. After reading all the reviews... they probably won't... Just thought you might want to know the truth about Lens Crafter inferior products, and short shelf life on whatever you buy there.

I'm not bitter. I just don't think anyone should waste their money. The company will push you to the top lenses and the designer frames. Then when the high end lens that are marketed as "scratch resistant" end up scratched they just look up, and say "oh, we can't replace, just one lens but you can buy brand new at 50% off". Then, a year later, when the $300 designer frames break, they just simply offer another new purchase at 50% off. The company sells junk at inflated prices, with little or no support. Don't be suckered.. like I was, twice.

I always feel pressured when I am there. I do not have that kind of spare time nor do I have that kind of money to waste on crap items and service. After several minutes the employee stuck her head into their lab (you can see it from the customer seating area) and asked for help, only to be very rudely told that "she would be fine, customers need to learn to wait"!!!! OMG, I could hardly believe anyone would ever say that, especially because all of us customers heard that! All of us customers that heard him say that were talking about it between ourselves. The guy that said it must have been someone from their home office as he was standing in back (their lab is behind glass but is still in view of their selling floor) and had his arms crossed in a very arrogant stance. If this is the example that their bosses set, why would anyone want to shop there? Called their customer service hotline to inform them of this lack of professionalism. They told me they would have the regional manager, Ross **, call us back, never received any phone call. Another example of bad service and it must be how they accept customers are treated!

I paid extra money to have a solution applied to my lenses to prevent glare, mostly for driving at night. I also paid $29 for extra coverage to cover the lenses for one year. After 9 months, my left lens got spotty. I returned to LensCrafters and after charging me an additional $25 (in addition to the $29 I paid originally) replaced the lens. Now, 21 months after the original purchase, both lenses are so spotty from the glare solution, that it's affecting my vision. Returning to the store, the manager agreed it was from the solution that was applied to prevent glare, but since the extended coverage had expired, all she would do was to give me 50% off new glasses, but only after I paid for an eye exam.

My insurance only pays every 24 months for an eye exam, so I have to put up with these glasses for another 3 months. My conclusion is the solution they use to prevent glare is not perfected. She wouldn't give me the name of the company that manufactures it but did tell me it's only meant to last 12 to 18 months. I feel they purposely hid this information from me when I purchased the glasses and should be investigated for selling an inferior product.

Ordered a pair of glasses, which I loved for over $300. After awhile of normal wear (I've been wearing glasses for 40++ years) they needed an adjustment. SEVEN adjustments later - all the while I'm telling them there is something wrong with these frames because they can't "hold" an adjustment - the store mgr. informs me I'm 3 weeks past the 90 days I have to exchange them. And oh BTW the frame has been discontinued - it's not available any place (duh - a clue that something's wrong with it). I'm sure I was "within the 90 days" at some point in the previous 6 visits for adjustments - but that's not important apparently to the store mgr.

They can do nothing for me but adjust them. In fact the man who did the final adjustment did them SO tight they left a mark on the first night and moaned and groaned about his 20+ years of adjusting glasses. That it was all on me - you know "the customer" who has been wearing glasses longer than he's been adjusting them - I clearly must be "doing something to them". I don't!

I complain up the chain to regional office. Today the store mgr. calls and says, "I have now talked for 9 different people about these - so we are going to give you an exchange until 12/31". WOW really - you've talked to 9 different people - boo hoo. So I'm going in tomorrow for more condescending treatment and a new pair of glasses (basically because these are now unwearable). Wish me luck, say a prayer - because I'm doubtful it's going to work. Shameful customer service!

I bought a pair of glasses from LensCrafters in March. In July, I had to have cataract surgery on one eye. Prior, I called up and asked about changing the one lens on the glasses after the surgery. I was told they would do it for free because it was only 4 months after I got the glasses and their "extended protection" (extra charge tacked on, not optional) covered that 100%. "Don't worry, we'll take care of you". For the cataract fix, I went for 20/20 vision and got it. So, all I needed for the glasses was replacing the one lens with a blank. Purely cosmetic. Sounds simple, right? Wrong!

I took the glasses in and was told they would not do the job for free despite admitting they had told me that prior. Everything is at their discretion and the store manager decided not to cover it. Too bad. Second, they wouldn't replace the one lens without me paying for two lenses at an outrageous price of $280 ($303 with tax). That's more than the glasses and frame cost to begin with. Too bad. Pay up or you have nothing. Very arrogant and hostile, both the clerk and the store manager who was in the act. I didn't cave in to their extortion tactics. After some choice words, I took the glasses to "CustomEyes" which was 3 blocks away. Very helpful, no problem doing the job. They did the lens replacement in 2 hours for $52. There's no way I'll ever use LensCrafters for anything again. Recommend same to the readers. This nonsense stops only when we stand together and make it stop.
