This place is now horrible. I used to get my glasses there all the time and had them within 2 hours. Now they refused my prescription, stating, "We have to put progressive lenes in both eyes." My left eye gets no correction. "We can't do that." It is a legit prescription too. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE. I would give them a zero stars if I could. No service, and one of the highest prices.

I will not take chances with my vision on a mall optical center in the future. LensCrafters in Eden Prairie wasted a great deal of my time and money. They have told me that I have to tilt my head back or lift my glasses to see my computer with my new progressive glasses, which isn't the case with my last pair of progressive lenses. My old progressives do not have this issue. The eye doctor at lenscrafters even said my prescription isn't that much different. If you need to tilt your head or raise your glasses to see your computer, they should tell people that BEFORE spending a lot of time and money getting new glasses. I expect glasses to do what they are designed to do, help you see. And progressives are supposed to be multi-focal.

In an attempt to resolve the issues, I had to go in there multiple times, meet with people at the store level, talk with corporate several times, have multiple calls with the regional manager and have the Dr. check my vision again. Ultimately, I paid $800 and wasted several hours for new backup glasses that I'll never wear, because they're only for driving. They even tried to sell me another pair of computer glasses to resolve the issue. I'll never shop at a Lenscrafters again. Their desire for money takes priority over peoples vision. The store manager, Eric, was also extremely rude.

This review regards a negative experience I had at the LensCrafters in Glen Allen, VA. Awful experience with an employee when I needed help with glasses after purchase. They are nice and friendly when you go in initially to purchase but if there is a problem, they act like it is a major inconvenience to help. When I did a review for the store, they respond by stating to send email to customer service. I did that and got nothing but a run around. I had to send multiple emails and make multiple calls. You never speak with the same person and can't get a manager. They did absolutely nothing. Wasted so much time to get nowhere. Will never give LensCrafters another dime and let co-workers, friends and family know about this experience.

Calling them scammers would be kind. They wanted more than I get from my Social Security check for a basic pair of glasses. I walked out mad. Went online to Warby Parker and got a nicer pair for about $100. I could have bought 5 of these for what the scammer LensCrafters charge.

I was in Naples for the week on vacation and stupidly only brought one pair of contacts with me and no glasses. I lost both of them in the ocean and was going to have to go the rest of the week and 12 hour drive home partially blind. I was able to get my eye doctor from home to send me my prescription, so we tried to get a trial pair from an eye doctor in our area. We walked in and were immediately greeted, we then started troubleshooting to see what my options were. Luckily Camden was able to figure something out for me and I no longer need to spend the rest of my vacation unable to see! Thank you to everyone who helped me and was able to save my vacation! They had wonderful service and generosity, and empathy for my situation🫶

I went to Lens Crafters today in the Macy's store (Boca Town Center) in Boca Raton. My wife had an 1100 apt with the optometrist to get an eye prescription. When we got there the most arrogant lady named Michelle totally turned us off and we left the store. She said the optometrist was running 45 minutes late and then would go out for lunch. Then she said the price which was quoted was wrong unless we bought our glasses there. LensCrafters should be ashamed to have someone like this representing them. I was so upset I didn't want to even shop in Macy's.

Review for LensCrafters – Carrefour Angrignon, Montreal (7077 Bd Newman, LaSalle). ⭐ 1/5 – The worst experience ever. I ordered glasses last year, and after six visits, my order is still unresolved. When I finally asked for a refund, I was told their machine was not working. On August 2, 2025, when I went to pick up my refund (after confirming by phone), I was treated so poorly by the manager, who refused to provide his name which. In Quebec, there is no general legal obligation for a store representative to provide their name to a client.

They claimed they couldn’t find any record of my transactions for the last two years, despite my credit card statements and insurance receipts proving I paid them just a few months ago. They also claimed they didn’t know where the previous manager got the refund amount she quoted me. This experience has been extremely frustrating, with poor service, disorganization, and a complete lack of accountability. My issue is still not resolved and they are refusing to give me back my money and I don't have glasses.

I placed an online order (first time customer), thinking it would be safe as it was a prescription for cheaters. They came fast, however everything was a blur. It is now a week later after my return, to the store, with three customer service reps telling me three different stories and no refund or insurance void in sight (pun intended). I can’t get another pair because the insurance hasn’t been voided. They now claim the return number doesn’t exist, even though it came from their official email.

I visited LensCrafters in Santa Rosa Plaza, Santa Rosa, California. They used all my insurance benefits coverage, and at the end I received contact lenses that I’m not able to use. The distance prescription works, but not the close range, which I need to read or work. This is not my first time wearing contacts, actually I’ve been using contacts for over 25 years, this is the first time I have problems with a contacts or lenses prescription. I ordered glasses form another company named FYTOO using Lens Crafters glasses prescription and as well, this ones didn’t work. Everything seems very blurry. So I ended up continuing using my previous glasses prescribed by Kaiser in 2022.

I called Lens Crafters to see if their doctor, Chari **, will recheck the prescription she wrote for me, but they said I’ll have to pay again out of my pocket, because is already been 3 moths since I was checked. Bottom line, I had never had any problems before with any eye doctor or lenses company until now, and never will go to Lens Crafters again. Be aware, and use carefully your insurance benefits. By the way, the gentleman at this store have no proper phone manners.

Dealing with customer service now which sucks because you can't just call and talk with someone, they force you to chat with them. Very annoyed with their whole process and terrible customer service. I will not give them in store business either since they are so terrible. How could the buffoon who shipped glasses not see that there were clear back marks on the lenses right in the field of vision? Clearly they did see them and just shipped it anyway rather than try to fix the problem. I'm sure nothing will happen to this individual either, so no accountability...Just don't buy from them especially online.

After wearing them for a while I called to have them redo the exam because my vision was blurry, so they did but it didn't change anything and my vision was still blurry. I have 3 prescription cards from the last 15 years or so and they were all pretty much the same prescription but the one from LensCrafters is quite a bit weaker, l don't know how they could screw up 2 times in a row but they just implied that it was because I was using contacts instead of glasses as to why my vision was blurry.

From the moment I walked in, the staff was rude, dismissive, and acted like helping me was a chore. There was no professionalism, no courtesy—just a group of catty employees who clearly had no interest in providing decent customer service.

The worst part? As I was leaving, an employee actually said, "I didn’t even get to be rude to her." That’s not just unprofessional—it’s appalling. I’ve never been treated so poorly at any business, let alone one that’s supposed to be helping people with their vision needs. My husband and I both bought glasses from Lenscrafters but never again. Right from the start I had trouble with them. I could not see clearly out of them and the glasses were thick, scratched easily and needed constant cleaning throughout the day. Sometimes 5 or 6 times. I subsequently learnt that even the prescription was wrong when I went to another place and they were too strong in some areas. They kept on falling off and were uncomfortable. The staff were obviously not trained in how to fit glasses, they had not a clue, nor did they care.

My husband's glasses were returned twice I believe because there was a wrinkle in the glasses and it was hard to see out of them. Also they needed cleaning multiple times a day. NB>. My new glasses only need occasional cleaning and are lightweight and not clunkers. Shame on you LENSCRAFTERS for using shoddy cheap materials and untrained, useless staff. You do not deserve to be in business and I hope your reputation precedes you. You have become a firm that is a sign of the times and does not give a damn and your staff are not allowed to.

My family was looking at frames and I was sitting in a chair. I heard a conversation behind me and when I turned around I saw Amandi and two other associates talking as they looked at my family. Amandi while still looking at my family began to shake his head side to side in disgust. I was appalled by what I witnessed and asked Amandi if I missed something. He replied that they were talking about some training they completed. I asked why he shook his head in disgust while looking at my family and he said it was a personal conversation. The lack of empathy and his demeanor was gross. We decided to visit another store at 908 N State and had an excellent experience. Will not visit this store again!

The Santa Monica branch messed up my contact lens prescription. I have had the same contact lenses for 8 years. I was very happy with them. I told the doctor not to change them. She asked if I had any complaints with my current prescription and I repeatedly said no. But she told me a slight tweak would make them more comfortable. They didn't - it was hell. I even had the foresight to push back on her recommendation and she told me just to roll my eyes if that happens. Didn't work. Now I can't see in one eye if I wear contacts and I have to wear them in my line of work. One of them is really uncomfortable after they adjusted the prescription.

That is not the worst part. We spoke with Annie on the phone to resolve the issue and zero accountability. Just a robot line of how they have to book you in again and I'd have to wait a week (and then even more to get the new contact lenses resent). Keep in mind, I can't see in one eye when I'm at work. Complete incompetence in working towards finding a solution. Absolutely not cut out for customer service. Both my partner and I went to painful lengths to explain what happened and why waiting a week was unnecessary and the time suck. I get 3 hours of sleep in my line of work. I simply don't have time to go back in and sit around because they made a mistake. And completely unnecessary when the change is so small.

After an hour on the phone trying to sort it out with her, she told us that if I sent over my old prescription to confirm it was such a tiny change, she would hand it to the doctor and they would sort it out pronto. This was an agreement we reached after an hour of her pushing back and not actually using her initiative in the situation. We thanked her and trusted that she would follow through. And she completely dropped the ball. Nothing. What a time waster. And she had the nerve to tell me "Don't worry. We won't charge you for coming back in again". She is completely incompetent and has no concern or empathy for wasting peoples' time. Worst experience ever. Do not go to this branch.

I had a horrible experience with LensCrafters. I had the eye exam done at the store and ordered lenses for my Meta Frame, which I bought in. I was told LensCrafters can do lens for my frame. A LensCrafters doctor ordered my prescription; the same store did my lenses. My lenses were delayed initially 3 weeks. When I was called, it was being ready, but the person was not there to fit my lens. Then I was told that they have to reorder the lens as it’s not the correct size, causing an additional 2 weeks of delay. After 2 weeks, I was called again, and when I picked up my progressive lenses, they were inverted, causing a headache. I had to bring it back to the store and they reordered, which took another 2 weeks. When the lens came back, the angle was an issue as I had to tilt my head to get things done.

I told LensCrafters that I am not happy with the progress, and they were causing constant messes with my progress. Just get me a single vision lens. They ordered and took another 2 weeks. When I picked up my glasses, it still had a different angle on the bottom. I was told to come again to see a doctor. I was told to pay another exam fee when I saw the doctor. This is ridiculous. I decided to walk out and will now pursue it legally with my lawyer. I want LensCrafters to be aware of this and want to give it one last chance before I pursue it with my attorney.

I went to the Kingston, NY store today to inquire my vision coverage through my employer. When walking into the store, there was not a friendly feeling. When I asked the sales person if she could tell me how much a pair of glasses would cost me with insurance, she said she has it way on knowing without me picking out a specific pair of glasses. When I brought a pair of glasses back to her, she said ”this is a lot of working punching in all these numbers.” She then tells me I would be responsible for $110.00. She was unable to give me a breakdown. I said I would check with my insurance & was going to leave the store & she starting saying “thank you” & patronizing me saying “have a nice day” when I was walking out. I spent over $800 last year at this store & felt like I given terrible customer service & treated disrespectfully.

I have been purchasing glasses from LensCrafters for over 35 years, and I can tell you from experience that the lens coating quality has been terrible for the last few years. The coatings that are designed to protect your eyes are not adhering to the lens effectively. Will begin peeling off in less than one year from purchase, and continue to get worse until it starts affecting your ability to see through the lens.

LensCrafter’s answer is to purchase replacement lenses through your insurance, which typically will not cover the full replacement cost of the substandard lenses. You can also pay for a lens warranty, and then pay a service charge every time you order a replacement set of lenses. Bottom line, it appears that Lenscrafters has a serious quality problem in the manufacturing of their lenses, which is becoming a costly and expensive safety hazard for their customers. In my opinion, lenses are being designed to only last one year at best. My recommendation is to boycott Lenscrafters until they address their quality issue.

Let me start by saying I have been a customer of LensCrafters for over ten years, having bought many pairs of very expensive Oakley and Ray Ban regular prescription and prescription sunglasses. I purchased replacement ear pieces for my prescription Ray Ban sunglasses back on November 17, 2024, and I was told I would be called when they arrived. I never received a call, so on December 20, I called them back. They said they had no record of the order arriving, however, they would reorder the parts again, and again they would call me when the order arrived. Again, I never received a call, so I decided to call them today, and I asked for a manager to call me back.

I was told the manager was due to arrive at 10:30 am. At 1:30 pm, I had not yet received a call, so I decided to call back. I was told that they were too busy with patients to call anyone back. Finally, I received a call at 2:08 pm today and spoke to the manager by the name of Danielle, who was very loud, very condescending, abrupt, and rude. She asked me three times if I had a receipt, and I informed her I was having trouble locating it. I informed her that I did not have the receipt and then asked if she had my order in the system, and she said no. When I pressed her about speaking to two separate salespeople who both told me they entered the orders and collected $80.00 from me, she became quite abusive, asking me to never come back to her store. I am in the customer service industry and I would never speak to a customer the way this person spoke to me. I have contacted LC corporate offices and am still waiting to hear anything.

I went to Lenscrafters located at 6801 Pearl Road, Middleburg Heights, Ohio. I purchased a pair of frames with a progressive prescription, May 29th, 2024. Less than a month, there were hard spider-like crust in the progressive prescription area, along side, and top of the inside of the frames. I called, their only concern was whether or not I had bought the warranty and if I hadn't there wasn't anything they could do. However, I still had time to purchase the warranty for $49.00 (year) and each time I would come in with this problem I would pay an additional $25.00. I expressed my disappointment in the quality of the lens and having not had this type of experience with prescription lens before. I've been wearing glasses over forty-plus years.

I went into the store and was told the same thing about purchasing the warranty. Also, the lame excuses as why the lens were like that. I.e., You must have used lens towelettes on them. You should only use the spray that we suggest. (I never was given any suggestions the day of purchase nor thereafter.) The oils on your skin. They're sitting on your cheeks etc. This was ridiculous and they should have been ashamed of themselves (Assisted manager and Floor manager. So, they took them to redo the lens, but, reiterated, they would do them this time. But not again! I needed to buy the insurance. My rationale was if I buy the insurance, plus pay $25.00 each time this happened. I could buy new glasses sooner than later with that money. But, definitely, not from Lenscrafters!

Sure enough! I picked them up and within a month the same thing. I could continue with my experience when I went in to show them, but, I think the point is well-made. They had the same lame excuses, which, seemed to have been scripted. "Lenscrafters" product is sub-standard. A waste of my hard-earned money, because I can't use them. They look like I've done abstract art on them. Totally dissatisfied and will spread the words. "STAY AWAY."

Updated on 11/13/2024: LensCrafters refuses to do anything regarding our experience on October 22, 2024. The store was supposed to respond to the complaint but closed the ticket with no resolution. We are getting the complete run around from Lenscrafters, and they do not want to take responsibility for their billing error and the unprofessionalism of the store employees.

Original Review: My husband and I went into the LensCrafters store at Oakview Mall in Omaha, NE, on Tuesday, October 22, 2024, at 6:15 pm CST, regarding a billing issue that we had previously spoken with our vision insurance and LensCrafters about. We were told it was taken care of. When we went to the store we spoke with the only staff member that was working we explained the situation to him. He said that we would need to speak with his boss, to which we replied that we had already done that and she was less than helpful, stating that there was nothing she could do about it. The employee exploded stating that doesn't sound like her. He has worked with her for a long time and she would not say that.

My husband stated that we would not talk to her because she was worthless the last time we spoke with her. I tried to speak to him about my conversations with our vision insurance and LensCrafters and he kept cutting me off. My husband got a little louder trying to get him to calm down, to which the employee responded that we needed to calm down or he is going to call security.

We got up to leave because the conversation was not going anywhere. As we left the store I said that we did not get his name. We returned to the store to ask him for his name and he threw a card at my husband. I said "That was real professional" to which he replied that we need to leave or he is going to throw us in jail. The card he threw at my husband didn't have his name on it.

I filled out the formal complaint with LensCrafters asking for the bill that started all of this to be written off, a written apology from the employee and if he refused to do that I wanted him fired. The form stated that I would have a response and resolution within 5 days. I have called 3 times and they are still waiting on the store for a response. My husband are afraid that if we go back to the store we are going to get threatened with jail again.

I regret not checking the reviews for this company before spending $1,000 on prescription glasses that I can't wear. My experience has been extremely frustrating. Last fall (2023), I ordered progressive sunglasses with an expensive Prada frame from a location in St. Laurent Mall, Ottawa. Initially, a staff member with shaky hands used only a ruler for measurements, lacking proper equipment. The glasses were ordered, but a month later, when I went to pick them up, they couldn't find them and informed me that the frame was broken, requiring a re-order. After another month of waiting, the second pair still had measurement issues. They re-measured with the same rudimentary tools, and although the focus improved on my third visit, the glasses still didn't match the quality of the progressive lenses I had from Costco with the same specifications.

Wearing the sunglasses made the ground seem too distant, and I experienced distortion while driving, which made me feel unsafe. In the summer, using them for walking felt unstable, with either the reading area being too wide or its focus being incorrect. In September 2024, I returned to LensCrafters to see if they could address the issue, but I was told it was too late to make changes without incurring additional costs. I’m not willing to spend more after the considerable amount already invested. I’ve lost confidence in LensCrafters and will not be returning. I suggest looking elsewhere if you're considering their services—they clearly struggle with providing quality prescription glasses.

The mgr., Judy, seemed unconcerned when I told her I lived 2 hours away and did not have a backup pair to wear while driving and working. The level of incompetence within this company is truly staggering. For the second year in a row, I have had issues with this Lenscrafters. Last year it resulted in them having to re-make my lenses because they were defective the first time. This time when I finally received my lenses, after many blunders, they were again defective. This time, instead of continuing to trust my eye health to these buffoons, I simply asked for a refund and went along my way.

This location is affiliated with an optometrist next door and as much as I like her and her practice, I am afraid they have both lost my business due to this partnership. It is unsafe to trust your eye care to people who function this way. The two employees available when I went in to purchase my glasses were not in the least professional. When I was directed to pick out frames, I was not given any assistance. When I decided I wasn’t going to purchase new frames (which I decided because I wasn’t getting assistance), I then lost the interest of the gentleman initially helping me and he had another employee help me.

After much messing around with their system, she had to manually write all my information from my previous lenses down because their computer wasn’t copying it over to what was to be my new lenses. I was assured that I would be getting the exact same sort of lenses with the exact same coatings but with my new SLIGHTLY adjusted prescription.

I was told that once the lenses came in, they would pick a day where the person could cut them quickly and get them into my existing frames. About five days later (which I was very pleased about), I got the call that the lenses were in and I was to bring by my glasses for the next day and it would only take them about an hour and a half to get the lenses installed and have my glasses back to me. I brought in my only single pair of glasses to leave at the store for what I expected was about an hour and a half. I received a call about an hour later telling me that the person who cuts the lenses was not even at work that day and it would now be the next day before I could get my new lenses. I told them to keep the glasses and I would pick them up the following day.

As I mentioned, ultimately when I finally received my lenses, they were wrong and I requested a refund. I am not giving another moment of time to this organization who simply cannot properly function. They processed the refund but what made matters worse is that while doing so, the employee Zoryah thought it would be reassuring to tell me that she put it in the system correctly and if the lab messed it up, that isn’t under her control. Well, obviously, but what kind of behavior is it to play that kind of blame game. Completely unprofessional. Buyer beware! Messing with people’s vision is a truly dangerous game to be playing and I would not recommend you trust your eye care to this company.

I checked the order prescription which did not match my prescription I sent in which had axis 178 for both eyes. The online order sent had 154 for the left eye for axis and 22 for right axis. Also the sphere for my eyes was left -5.75 and right -6 in the prescription but received -5.5 left and -5.25 right. I went to my local LensCrafters location in Fashion Square Mall Scottsdale and they said they couldn’t help me with a return or process me since I wasn’t in the system. They told me I had to call LensCrafters for any help or support and their location was only for in person buyers.

I went to Costco for a second opinion and they looked at the paperwork in the LensCrafters package and said it was the wrong prescription and obviously on LensCrafters part. This is pretty disappointing since I had a very bad experience before with a $700 Safilo lens that was processed by a Luxottica lab that Valley Eyecare in Arcadia and Luxottica refused to help me with. That lens also was the wrong prescription and a prominent fishbowl effect that wouldn’t go away. What a disaster.

DO NOT BUY FROM LENSCRAFTERS. In October 2023 I purchased glasses at Lenscrafters in Great Lakes Mall at a retail cost of $886. On May 24, 2024, I went to the store to complain that my left lens had three marks on it, and it was also starting on the right lens. The salesperson Katherine asked if I had any animals because they looked like teeth marks. I do not have animals, never dropped my glasses and live a very sedentary life. She absolutely refused to do anything to repair the glasses stating that I did not purchase a protection plan. My glasses are made with polycarbonate which is more impact resistant.

Lenscrafters uses cheap material and if any damage occurs, they refuse to do anything to repair the glasses. My last glasses were seven years old and there are no scratches on them. I resent the attitude of the salesperson Katharine who treated me with a smirk and dismissed me. I am an elderly person and should be treated with respect, especially since my glasses cost $886. It’s not right that after seven months I have to buy another pair of glasses.

Second optometrist said he was way off, and ordered what I needed. That pair had the bottom reading area at the bottom 2/3 of lens. Top 1/3 only clear looking straight. Move eyes at all & everything blurry. Claimed the curvature of glasses were too straight.

Next pair were made with the wrong prescription in them. Just picked up pair that were supposed to be double checked at store location to make sure the script was correct, & I’m back at bottom 2/3 reading script & top 1/3 only clear looking straight. Was told I need to turn head & look straight for good vision. Even then past 20 foot, everything’s blurry. I’m usually a fighter, but I’ve finally realized I’m fighting a losing battle. My contact lenses I paid 100s for cannot wear them. I cannot see up close. Only very far away so a waste of money. They poo pooed oh try this or that replaced them still the same. My regular eyeglasses are fish bowl effect. It’s horrible. My spare pair same lense is worse than my regular pair. Something really weird is going on with LensCrafters. Save up your money and go to a real place. Not a cheap mall one.

Take your money elsewhere, first off my exam was off and I had to get my script reduced, made at least 10 or more visits trying to get my glasses comfortable. Here I am $700 dollars later just to be told I’m stuck with the frame because it’s been over 30 days as if I haven’t been back more than enough times for the experts to figure out the frame is just too heavy instead they just keep trying to adjust them. I’m for the most part fairly new to the eyeglass world and feel like I should have been told the frame is too heavy but of course I had to figure that out myself. Don’t shop here. It’s a rip off.

I spent so much money and time at LensCrafters between my husband and me each getting prescription glasses and sunglasses. I got a pair of RayBan sunglasses, and since they were prescription lenses, new lenses had to be put in the glasses when they arrived at my local LensCrafters. It took about a week for our glasses to be ready, which was great. Everything seemed fine when I picked them up, but I realized when I went to wear my sunglasses for the first time, a week or so after pickup, that the frame had been completely warped when the technician installed the lenses. So I went back to a LensCrafters closer to my house and the customer service agent took my sunglasses and said it would be a week for my new sunglasses to be returned. She said they would call.

A week came and went, no call. So I called them at about the ten day mark, no one knew what was going on with my glasses. Then I called again at the two week mark, and again, no information. Finally in the third week I got a phone call saying they had my sunglasses, they’d been there for a while but no one knew who they belonged to or what they were for. I went in, inspected them, tried them on, all seemed good. Then I realized next day when I was wearing them for driving that there was no prescription in them. I’m nearsighted, and need my glasses for distance, so it wasn’t apparent in the store that there was no prescription. So I had to go back in again and they had to order my prescription lenses, once again taking away my sunglasses (did I mention I live in Sunny AZ?).

About a week later I got a call that my glasses were done. I went back in to pick them up, was in a hurry, tried them on and they fit ok but I was in a rush so I didn’t make sure they fit perfectly. They’re too big, so I can’t wear them. I need to go back in to have them adjusted, because for some reason these once got huge. But I haven’t had time, because my husband recently had open heart surgery and we are busy.

Also, upon looking at my sunglasses more closely, I can see that when the technician installed the lenses, he or she bent the frame again so it bends in where the bridge of the nose is and the rest of the frame bends outwards. This is why they fit so large. The arms of the glasses bend outwards, so I’m not even sure how they will make them fit me without bending the ends of the arms inwards which will create pressure points behind my ears and cause headaches for me. So I have $400 prescription sunglasses that I have been unable to wear as of yet, and by the time I find time to get this fixed, it’ll be time for a new prescription. I am not happy.

I had intended to keep my frames next year and just have new lenses put in, but they’re already damaged. Between my husband and me, we spent $1200 at LensCrafters. For that kind of money, I shouldn’t have damaged frames. I am never going to shop at LensCrafters again. The only reason they get two stars is that the employees at the original LensCrafters I ordered the glasses from were very nice. I can’t say the same about the second location.

Do not go here. Do not go to Lenscrafters. First, they DO NOT take your insurance. They say they do but it is probably out of network and thus a higher charge. Second, they can't fix their error. They billed under my husband's insurance and not mine. Then I got another bill for $120 because my insurance was denied. I pointed out their error and they couldn't fix it. Corporate won't respond and while the manager ultimately gave me the money to pay them back, I lost out on what my insurance would have provided which is better insurance.

They also offer all these deals and then you are not eligible for any or they add services and don't tell you. For example, eye exams are supposed to be $10 on my insurance. They charged $30 because they took pictures. Um... shouldn't that be my choice? If you do go here, and I don't know why you would, ask about EVERYTHING BEFORE you settle. They will throw things in, lie to you and try to cheat you out of your money.

My family of three have purchased tens of thousands of dollars in glasses with Lenscrafters over the years. I typically do not have any issues. The last time I ordered glasses, the Tint started wear off on the edges of the frames. While I typically insure my glasses, this one-time insurance wasn't included. It's only $25. On a $700 pair of glasses, that is not something I would decline. When I take my glasses back to the store (NorthLake Mall, Charlotte - (I have time today), the rep acknowledged that it was a defect and attempted to help me replace them. He informed me I did not get insurance (which was a shock to me). He attempted some other ways to help me replace the glasses since I did not have insurance. He stated since it was outside of the 30 day manufacture warranty then he could not help me.

I contacted customer service online and informed them of my issue. They referred me back to the store, who contacted me and informed me they could not help and offered a 50% discount on a future pair. I informed them that, just charge me the amount of insurance I'd gladly pay the deductible to put in a claim. All these things are governed by people. What's sad, is that in corporations, all it takes is the right person to reply and say yes, please assist that customer. But they decided, they wouldn't help. I will gladly take my money and spend it with another company. That is a horrible customer service. I will never spend another dime with Lenscrafters.

Both pairs of frames I bought had demo lenses. However, when I went back after cataract surgery to replace my Oakley lenses with non prescription lenses. They just said no this was not a service they provided! This is outrageous since the frames alone were over 200 dollars and the lenses were almost the same amount yet when I went to LensCrafters they immediately said there was nothing they could do to replace the prescription lenses with quality regular lenses. In fact they didn’t even try to make an effort to sell me any lenses to fit their proprietary Oakley frames? Which they never tell you the frames are not standard and can only be used with prescription lenses! Poor poor service since no one knows when their vision might change and with the prices we pay for frames, we should be offered a standard frame so even the Oakley makers as an example would have lenses that fit the same frame that are not prescription!

Many people seem to have frames and glasses they don’t need anymore and it is just a shame Oakley and LensCrafters sell frames that can only be used for either prescription or for nonprescription but they are not interchangeable! I even went to the Oakley outlet who also does not sell a nonprescription lense for the frames I have so I and anyone in the same boat are out with these now worthless frames and glasses! I seem to have the same issue with Burberry! These frame makers do slightly different frames so you are stuck with either prescription frames or regular frames but not a frame that will fit both. Seems to me the lenses are crafted to fit a certain prescription so you would have thought or I did, the frames were generic to the lense, nope you either spend a lot of money for expensive nonprescription frames or a lot of money for prescription frames.

When you look at the cost of frames and lenses they almost match so actually it is unclear to me what it buys anyone other than the need to get these types of frames? My suggestion, never buy name brand named sunglasses or prescription frames, buy the cheapest frames you can get for prescription glasses and stick with the middle or less sunglasses. The top names don’t serve anyone since their lenses cannot be swapped if a time comes you want the frames but no longer need the lenses! The industry really keeps this detail a big secret and I would be totally amazed if people have not complained about this same issue! Get your prescriptions from one place by cheap frames online or at throw away prices somewhere else’s. The name brands are not worth the hassle!!!!

Oh and LensCrafters sold me both Burberry and Oakley prescription frames but will not do anything to help you get no prescription lenses for them! That business alone only sells you frames and lenses! They didn’t even tell me last year I had cataracts! If they had, I wouldn’t have these frames and glasses today that are totally worthless since you can get cataract surgery early nowadays and avoid persecution glasses! I only found out I had cataracts from another provider under my medical plan when I was having major issues with blurry vision! LensCrafters could also see my cataracts last year but never said anything during the exams even when I told them the images were very blurry! They just said the eyewear would clear that up! I went back a couple time they changed the prescription and I just felt with it till this year and got the real issue fixed!

I had a disappointing experience with the LensCrafters website. Despite having a positive experience at their physical store in San Diego, California, I decided to order my glasses online. I had an extremely frustrating experience with the LensCrafters website. After placing my order, I waited for over a month without receiving any email notification. Concerned about the lack of updates, I reached out to their customer service. To my disappointment, their website simply stated that my order was "processed" with no further information.

Upon contacting their customer service via email, I received a response that lacked any empathy whatsoever. They nonchalantly informed me that my order had somehow been lost in the mail without providing any clarification. They asked if I wanted a refund, but as I genuinely needed the glasses, I requested that they expedite a replacement instead.

Another month passed, and I had to reach out to them once more. The representative I spoke to was exceptionally rude and provided minimal information, vaguely stating that the order would be shipped soon. Frustrated with the lack of transparency and progress, I decided to request a refund. However, the representative informed me that I would have to wait to receive the glasses and then ship them back in order to process the refund. Dissatisfied with this response, I sent an email to their customer service detailing the entire situation. Their reply was simply, "We're sorry for your experience, by the way, there's been another issue with your order. It'll be fixed in 5 days."

Frustrated and at my wit's end, I decided to take a more assertive approach with LensCrafters. I once again reached out to their customer service, firmly requesting a refund. In an effort to convey the seriousness of the situation, I mentioned that I was contemplating taking legal action. After my strong statement, they assured me that the refund would be processed within 3-7 days. However, despite their promises, the situation remains unbelievably frustrating. Nearly three months have passed, and I am still without my much-needed glasses. This level of delay and lack of resolution is beyond comprehension and is causing immense inconvenience and hardship.

This is most expensive and slow eyeglass provider I have ever been to. I gave them three chances and I will not ever be back. The first visit we ordered my son prescription sunglasses and my other son glasses. The sunglasses turned out with very thick lenses and I was told I would need to spend another $160 to fix them on top of the $200 I had already spent and I have insurance. These took a couple weeks to get. My son really wanted them so we kept them as is.

The second time we went in on January 2nd because my son saw a frame he wanted. We ordered them and it took over six weeks to get them and again I was not impressed with the lenses because they are thicker than we have ever received at other providers. About a week after we ordered the glasses I went in to get my exam. I was told even with my insurance a contact lens exam was at least $105. I have never in my 30 years of getting exams ever had to pay this much. I left and did not get the exam there. I will not be back. My kids have high prescriptions and I was not impressed with the thick lenses in my kids' glasses, the high cost, and very slow service. I will go to back to the other providers that have more affordable glasses with thin lenses that I can get same or next day. The worst part is I bought the insurance on all the glasses, but I will never use it because I am never going back.

I am new to Vermont and I brought my daughter there to get glasses. Let me be clear, the doctor next to this location was awesome as was their staff. LensCrafters is not. The lady waiting on me made me think I had bad insurance and stated they would only cover 47.00. My bill was over 400. When I got home I logged in and seen they were out of network. I notified the corporate office and they said to call that office. I called and the same lady answered and I told her I wanted it cancelled. She said ok. I do have the email telling me to call her and since it was the same day no problem at all. Yesterday I get a text stating glasses are ready. I checked my card and they did not remove the charge. This is not acceptable. I have made a complaint to the BBB as well. I will continue to contact review agencies and their corporate office until this is resolved.

Bottom line do not go there. They charge almost triple as anywhere else and they will not tell you that they are not in network. I went to Costco and without using my insurance I got me two pairs and my daughter 1 for less than LensCrafters cost for one pair. Now I can use my insurance to get my daughter's contact lenses. Oh and those glasses were ready same day as the ones I did not want at LensCrafters. Costco took one week and LensCrafters took almost three weeks.

My experience was not good. Got progressive lenses. Told her I wanted ones just like was wearing. Got glasses and frames within a week. They were fine for reading but could not drive. Every thing blurry. So I took them back for a refund. Had to wait for my Insurance reimbursement for a month and that was with several calls. These glasses total over $700.00 my share was 290.00 and my insurance was a flat 325.00 for lenses. Of course LensCrafters showed all these discounts for the scratch resistance, Transitional and more. Went to Eyemart Express for all the same features that's listed above and my out of pocket was only $49.85. Once my insurance was reinstated they were very helpful in adjustments. Lens Crafters Doctor was even rude at times for my annual eye exam and try to rush you through all your appointment. I would never suggest Lens Crafters to anyone. I will never use again. This was my second visit to this location in Lithonia GA to pick up my glasses due to a change in my prescription after cataract surgery. I purchased my glasses in March 2022 and was told that after my cataract surgery I would only have to pay $40 for the eye exam to have my prescription adjusted but that was not true. I had to pay $54 for the exam plus $165 for new lenses. I had been told previously that I wouldn't be charged an additional amount to have the new prescription put in my glasses but I went ahead and paid the money because I needed my glasses. After waiting 2 weeks to receive the glasses back I went to pick them up and realized I couldn't see anything with them on.

After speaking with the associate Jamee who helped me the first time, he realized the new prescription was never put in the glasses. The lab had put the old prescription back in due to an error by Jamee who put the wrong information in the system. I was furious because now I would have to wait another 2 weeks to receive my glasses for the 2nd time. I asked to be compensated somehow for their mistake but was told there was nothing they could do. I think this company does not value for their customers and once I get my glasses back I will never visit them again. I have been coming to Lenscrafters for many years but now they will lose my business forever.

My insurance was out of network (which I knew and I planned to pay the difference and told the sales associate that). I just really wanted the frames I saw there as the other stores I checked didn't have anything I liked. They told me I couldn't get the frames I liked with my prescription which was odd because I never had an issue before and my old glasses had the same shape. I asked were they sure because that was new to me to hear that, they said yes you will have to pick something else. After not finding anything else I went to Pearle Vision and got the SAME frames with no issues.

I have not used LensCrafters since the 90’s. Well, different in PA glasses done on-site is a NO. Spent over 3 hours in the location due to their system not working properly. Never use health insurance but used vision only. Added warranty when didn’t want it because the trouble with the system. Just to fill my 2 glasses my own frames cost over $200 then purchased a brand new glasses over $400. Never in my life have I ever paid over $600 for glasses. So moving forward got a text, glasses are in so traveling about 1 hour to Monroeville. So needless to say, 2 out of 3 are done. We ask for prescription paper. Was told it was in our folder we received. WHAT FOLDER, stated the system was down.

Needless to say when you ask to write out the prescription which is for the customer use. Also never received the old lens back either. Needless to say, told Lenscrafters will not travel again to pick up 3rd pair of glasses, Lenscrafters agree to mail them. Let’s just say the glasses came. And Guess What - Wrong Prescription. Plus Lenscrafters are so Cheap, glasses came in a felt bag, not in a glass case so if the box got crushed so would the glasses. Lenscrafters does apply any discount that are advertised or all insurance customers have. In my opinion, this company wants all the profits. So in essence, I would never use Lenscrafters Again.

In May and early June I purchased 3 pairs of glasses from Lenscrafters at Orchard Park Mall in Kelowna- the first two in May and the third in June. I was happy with the frames and professional service from the sales lady in May. When I received the first two pairs, I discovered the Office glasses did not work for me. This is because I was NOT told Lenscrafters ONLY makes 1 kind of office glass. A training issue. This was not discussed or explained. I then reached out to my Optometrist who kindly provided a second prescription to help Lenscrafters fix the problem. I then waited more than a month and heard nothing about the office glasses or the third pair I needed for work.

I finally called and was told they had been sitting there for a long time. But, no one called. I then spoke with store manager Jaimie who accused me of complaining about upselling?, wanting to return glasses? and even more irrational of my Optometrist's office of no longer selling me glasses!! All completely untrue and bizarre! I then had to call my Optometrist's Office - Vision Optometry- who confirmed they said no such thing and that they were happy to fix my office glasses and sell me glasses in the future. Jaimie stated that his colleague told him this and refused to own his wrongs or to apologize.

Further I was forced to be without glasses that worked for my prescription for a month and a half due to lies and character assault. Customer service for Lenscrafters has refused to do anything. I received a 3 minute call (saved on phone) from a rep who had no interest in any of this today finally, and who would not listen to my request and in turn hung up. I strongly suggest NEVER buying glasses from a company only interested in profit and who has no problem holding their managers accountable for character assault or extraordinary lengths of time customers are forced to be without glasses.

Updated on 12/05/2024: My glasses were magically in shortly after I wrote my review in 2022. Frames are still in good shape two years later, but there's a film or something pulling away from the edge of the lenses. I stopped in the Lenscrafters store where I got them and showed them and they said they would replace them, but my prescription has changed, so I'm going to get new lenses somewhere else and just sign a waiver for them to work with the frames. I really don't want to ever deal with Lenscrafters again.

Original Review: I ordered & paid for glasses (on a whim while I was at that shopping plaza) on 3/10. They said it takes about a week. Two weeks went by, no communication from them, so I left a phone message. No return call. Somewhere in there, I got an email asking how I liked my new glasses. I called back and they said three weeks tops. The third week went by, no communication. I called and someone said they might be on the way, or they might be getting quality checked, and it usually only takes two weeks (what happened to one?), but give it another week or two. I've been out $500+ with nothing to show for it for almost five weeks. I've been wearing glasses for decades. There's nothing special about them that should take this long.
