The virtual classroom is working wonderful for my daughter. She's doing reading comprehension. My daughter loves it and also loves the teacher. I've used Sylvan for two other children and they've caught up pretty good. I see a big improvement. Sylvan is a wonderful program.

Sylvan was in my area and I knew that they had a good record. I felt like my money would not be wasted with them. I would see results. The only thing is, it's expensive. I had a super easy signup process. They evaluated my son, and then provided a recommendation based off of his assessment. They evaluated him for Reading and Math, but his Math was fine. They've just been focusing on Reading Comprehension and he has definitely improved a lot in the last two months.

One of my coworkers told me about Sylvan Learning Centers. So far, the program has been building my son's confidence and is working on comprehending what he is reading. It has been good. We meet monthly to evaluate his progress. I've already recommended Sylvan to a few people so far.

One of my children was with Sylvan since over seven years ago and I liked how they helped her. I had one of my other children who was struggling in school, and Sylvan was the first one that came up in mind. And then, I went online and advised them and called, and they got back to me right away and set up arrangements to go and meet them. It was easy and fast to get my child set up. They're now doing Reading and Math. First, they did tests to see where she was at, and then they saw what areas needed to be worked on. They then concentrated on those areas and gave me a progress of her. Every two weeks, they do a meeting with me to let me know how she was doing. It's a setup of steps that they go by to make sure that she knows what she is doing. They move on to the next stage where she needs to work on.

Sylvan focused on Math and Reading. Overall, they were pretty good. My child loves it. I'll recommend Sylvan.

I saw a lot of the commercials and decided to get my children the assessment because I felt that they should have a more tutoring on some grade level stuff. It happened right before COVID. Continuing that when school let out, it was very helpful for my children to already be online doing that stuff. Both of them were in the reading comprehension and the tutors were excellent. My children are done with their hours. They loved it. It was amazing. I've already actually suggested Sylvan to other people. You should do it.

I've told the school that Kylie was behind but they wouldn't listen to me. They don't know my kid better than I do. We had a meeting and they did a testing on her. And when Sylvan did the testing on her, she was second grade Reading, and that's what I had guessed. She's about second grade Reading and third grade Math. She started going downhill with Math when the school started doing the reading problems. And I don't want her to get to fifth grade until she knows it. If she doesn't feel she can answer these questions, she will just do as they always did. They will just keep pushing her off to the next teacher. Sylvan has been my absolute lifesaver. I love it.

We've tried online tutoring options and we went with Sylvan because we understood that my daughter was starting to fall behind with her skills. The online tutoring options were not working. We needed to have a real person guiding her along the way of relearning what she had lost. Sylvan came up in a conversation with one of my mom friends and her son does Sylvan.

They're helping my son with study skills, writing and reading. He is doing his summer reading on his own. Right now, it's hard to see if it'll affect it or not because he doesn't have school. But he is following the plan they set out. So far, so good. They have a good plan. The results remain to be seen, but he does seem to enjoy going and it does seem to be helping him for the little bit we can see. He has developed a really nice rapport with one of the teachers. Everything's been really easy and really good.

We used Sylvan Learning Centers for reading and math. Our daughter should be getting smarter and we'll see when she goes back to school. The virtual appointments have worked for her but she likes in person better. All in all, I'm pleased with our experience and I would recommend Sylvan if a child is needing extra help in school.

I have a small business in Garner and one of our customers has a Sylvan Learning Center. I think a lot of her and since she's another small business owner, I decided to give them a try. With them, my daughter is focusing on learning her letters, comprehending stories, and rhyming to get her ready for kindergarten. She loves her sessions and looks forward to meeting with the two different tutors she works with, which is the most important thing for me. She love them dearly, too. I'm very happy with Sylvan and I think a lot of them. They do such a good job with my child. For her sessions, I get her set up and I don't always stay in the room, but I'm nearby. They make it fun for her, she's learning a lot, and she seems to be retaining them. They also challenge her and she gets a lot of enjoyment out of it. Overall, our experience has been better than expected.

I like the convenience of Sylvan and I have a history with them. My grandson has gone there for the past six years now and they've consistently got his grades up. He's gone up two grades in a month and a half. This year, he's doing Math. Previously, it was Math and English. Sylvan is excellent. They're very friendly and safe. The small group size and one-on-one learning work very well.

I’ve always heard of Sylvan and we went with them because that’s all we knew about. They are helping my child because he can’t read yet. They’re doing good. My son is getting there but he lacks confidence. He loves the program though. Sylvan is a good program but it's just really expensive.

I heard that Sylvan was a good tutoring program. My daughter has a lot of trouble reading and she couldn't figure out words. Sylvan really focused on that and she has made a lot of progress. She's not really into books but since the tutoring, she's found some interest in some subjects. Sylvan is a really good program. Their facilitators are very sweet and humble. They are nice people.

We have a very dear friend who recommended Sylvan and she recommended it because her son went there and she felt like it really helped him. When she suggested that we give them a try, we were very happy. We're really happy with the way it's set up. I've thought of sending my daughter to Sylvan for several years, but unfortunately, every time I talk to anyone, they would say it's very expensive and I kinda didn't wanna go that route. It is very expensive but I've gotten to the point where I realized that I could try and hold on to a nickel and use that nickel to take care of my child until I die or hope that she does better with school, get the most out of it, and then take care of herself.

In Carrollton, there are four tutorial centers on multiple corners. I went to each one of them and it seemed like Sylvan concentrated more on one-to-one tutoring which is the best for my daughter versus a small group. The center manager, who's also the salesperson, talked all positive things, too. She was all bubbly, was trying to get everything going, and she sold me on Sylvan. But I investigated Sylvan ahead of time, too. Plus, I had other folks in other states use Sylvan and they said that it was really a good experience.

My son was going to be going into algebra as a 7th grader at the time, so we decided to give him a head start on learning some of the language and the terminology. We wanted him to kinda get his feet wet a little bit so that when he got there, it wasn't so overwhelming. This year, his tutor is focusing on teaching him geometry. My daughter started there, too. Because of all this e-learning, I wanted to make sure that she doesn’t lose any of what she learned. She's on the borderline of being high-ability, but her focus skills are not as in tune as my son's so we're taking here there this year for some focus. She got analyzed on where her weaker points are and they tailored a curriculum around her weaker points but using it to help her hone in on those focus skills.

I was calling Sylvan for a friend that was in South Carolina. My question was about their Pearson affiliated program and I wanted to make sure that it was Pearson. Pearson's materials and resources are phenomenal. I taught special ed and they wouldn't give you a lot of material. So, I would go out and lobby with Pearson to give me samples so that I could use them with my special ed kids. The rep from Sylvan was very knowledgeable. She confirmed that it was Pearson and she also told all about the enrollment process which had three steps. She even listened because I was multitasking. She was really good and very patient. So I called my friend to tell him to get on the stick and get that enrollment done right away.

I realized that my son couldn't grasp a lot of words and reading. It was a real challenge for him. Everything we tried to do together was a difficult nightmare and it was absolutely brutal. So I started looking into tutoring and then I had read about Sylvan. When I spoke to the lady in charge over there, she said the tutors are all teachers that work there. That made me feel better because at least they have the training. They’re not a kid or some adult that might be just wanting to do this for some extra cash over the summer. It made me feel comfortable that there would be professionals who go to school for this stuff because I have no idea what I'm doing when I try to teach my son. They also have specialists that come in and help with his reading. So it made me feel a lot more comfortable and it was a small environment. Everybody was very nice there. So, that's why it all worked out.

I'm happy with all the programs at Sylvan. The people there are very nice. We are very thankful for the teacher because they support my daughter very well.

The staff and how welcoming and accommodating they were and the reviews that were given made me go with Sylvan. We did Math first and then Reading and Writing. My kids like the one-on-one time and face-to-face and dedicated attention. They really enjoyed it. I really enjoyed the experience too. The teachers are great and the director is very accommodating. They adjust schedules as needed and willing to talk through the kids’ learning plans.

I wanted consistency and my daughter likes a structured environment. So I asked from my friends that have used Sylvan's service before and I thought it would be good for my daughter. We got Sylvan for Math and my daughter hasn't complained and she would have noticed. I had a progress report the other day with Jodi and it was good. It was my first time coming into the facility. It went well. So far, I'm happy. My daughter is happy to go there and she's happy when I pick her up. It's working out so far.

My daughter was having some issues in school. She enrolled in Sylvan Learning focusing on Math and reading. The facilitators were great. Our experience has been 100% accurate and 100% great too. My daughter is reading more and reading better. It's almost like she was so blocked off from the world before but now, everything is awesome for her. I'm extremely satisfied.

Sylvan was sweet and nice, and everything went fine. I got onto it late in the game so we only had about three sessions. Sylvan offered a free hour. It was a certain time of the day and that worked perfect for my situation. I could choose any of the learning my son did. He was given a Chromebook and the tutor was able to assist him with usually either Science or Social Studies, like History. Those were the things that worked out to where it would allow him to help my son to be able to do it while they were doing a video chat for that hour. And it worked out great. It gave me a little time to be able to get stuff done and free up some time for me and some stress. So, it was lovely.

Someone told us that they had had a good experience with Sylvan so that's how we found them. My son who'll be going into second grade is enrolled in reading and so far, the experience is going great. He loves to go and seems to be improving.

My kids love Sylvan. We have them for reading and math and gradually, my kids are retaining more.

My son works really well on one-on-one and on little groups so that's why I chose Sylvan. It has helped him so much and he loves going to Sylvan. It's like a prize and a privilege for him to go there. He's happy with the program and he's learning. He has advanced so many levels on his reading. I'm so happy too and I wish I could pay more.

My son struggles a lot with reading. He was diagnosed with ADHD, and he's really behind. When the school went out because of COVID, I was really worried that this is gonna mess him up. So, I kept looking online trying to find him places, and Sylvan popped up. I read the reviews. I called them just trying to see what they did and what they offered. My son needs a lot of help. He's very impatient. They just put him on medication. So, I was worried about him because a lot of people say they're good with kids, but a lot of people aren't, and they don't have any patience. The reviews on Sylvan that I found online were really good. They spoke really highly about the program.

We found Sylvan online and I liked the program they were offering. It seemed to meet the needs of my child and they offered a virtual option during COVID which was helpful. The signup process was very easy. We filled up some information online and then we met with the site director and had a Zoom call with him. It's been very seamless and my son has been doing Zoom calls since then. Then about every four weeks or so, we had been having a touch base meeting with them on his progress. They have been working with him in the areas that he needs the most support and they've been very good at building his confidence in what he's doing. It's been a very positive experience so far.

My friend had an experience with Sylvan and I decided to give it a try. My son has autism and he has been through a lot between different schools and other experiences. So, he was behind. He’s very smart and it’s just the way he learns. I have a scholarship for him that he receives through the State of Arizona, Department of Education. So, I had some money and I put that towards the tutoring. When we went to Sylvan and did it, I was hoping he was gonna make progress, and he has. He enjoys his tutors and he’s gaining more skills than the average student. It was double the amount for reading. He was supposed to gain 45 skills and he gained 90. Also, he was almost triple than the average student obtains in Math. So, he’s been doing good. We’ve been doing the virtual since this whole COVID situation and he has been doing good with it too.

My son was falling behind in Reading and Math, and I wanted him to stay in the level. Sylvan really helped him. I just found an overall improvement in his grades and his confidence in doing Math, especially. I would tell others that those men and women that were helping my son will whoop the kids into shape. They’ll get those kids back on track. I don’t know about anybody else, but they got mine back on track. They did nothing but great things for me and my son.

I went online and googled tutors in the area and Sylvan popped up. The main focus was for Math and English. My kids earned their grades. They didn't appear to be struggling too much. They had a little bit of trouble with some of the Math, but overall he's okay and he did well this school year. They just changed management though and all the tutors are not the same. But my kids really like the original manager and his staff, his teachers and they seemed really sweet.

I used a different tutoring company before but they were more face-to-face. When COVID hit, they couldn't do the online option. I was looking for the online service and found Sylvan. I enrolled my child in the college prep classes. We're doing a 12-week course. It's twice a week until he takes the ACT. It would be better though if it was face-to-face. But so far so good. The staff is great and I really like them. The director is great and responsive. I'm satisfied.

The tutor came and did the testing. They saw what they needed more help on and they worked through that on the tablet. I saw the improvement at home and in school. The learning experience was good. It was just a little disappointing because they said it would take a certain amount of hours and that wasn’t true. When they did the testing, they said from where she’s at to where she needs to be will take this amount of hours. I bought those. She’s not close to being where she needs to be. She’s still very behind. Then there was not much discounts going on for us being military. There’s nothing for multiple kids as well. I don’t get anything if I don’t prepay. I had to put 5,100 to be able to even get a 15% discount.

Some of my friends told me that they knew people that have used Sylvan Learning, so we tried it out. Right now, since COVID has hit, we’re doing Reading and Math. We’re doing four hours a week. They seem to be doing really well with my son. He’s doing a lot better. Since COVID hit March, he’s had very little other instructions because the school system did nothing. Sylvan is all the instruction he’s had since March other than just the school sending home some work pages, which I thought were not helpful.

When I called Sylvan, I was impressed with the lady that I spoke with and what they were offering and just went with them. My reason for calling them was reading but then decided I wanted Math, too. My son always loved school and he went through a phase where he loved to read. Then, all of a sudden, he didn't want to pick up a book at home. We were starting to see the struggle but we didn't want it to get to where he was really getting to it and it could become a big issue to where it started affecting him of loving school. But with Sylvan, that has definitely been prevented.

Sylvan has helped my son stay on top of things. My son is really good but he gets behind if nobody stays after them and the school closes. They helped him not to get behind and to stay organized.

I had heard a parent talking about Sylvan and she was really happy with the results. They’re in town and it was convenient. I just thought I need someone to tutor my grandchild. The tutor focuses on reading and math. My grandchild is happy with it. She comes out happy thinking she did well. She didn’t wanna do it at first. It was kinda forced on her. But she’s come around and she really likes it. I’ve talked to them once and see how is her progress. But I don’t see anything in writing, or I don’t hear from them to say, “Hey, we need to let you know...” I think there should be more feedback for us.

We were looking for some ACT Prep and some people that we knew had taken the class at Sylvan Learning so we went with it. Our daughter learned a lot. Unfortunately, she was supposed to take the test the week that she finished, but that got canceled again because of COVID. I’m hoping we see the results of it on the test. She was told that she could continue to go on the website and look at the practice test that she had taken and review things that she missed. In fact, one day last week, my husband had told me that I should call the local facility and see if there were some kind of refresher things that she could do before she takes the test in July. We’ve been very pleased with Sylvan.

My daughter is going into the fifth grade. When she started, her level was down at third-grade. She's only doing reading and comprehension, and spelling. With my last little meeting that we had to see her progress, she's a little over halfway through the fourth-grade level now so she's progressing. She got one or two weeks in August left on when she's paid up.

I like Sylvan's proximity to my son's school and that everything looks really good. He seems to be enjoying Math more and has been really hyped about going there. He was blown away by how much they were helping him. The tutor helped him in going back to the basics rather than always focusing on whatever he's covering in class and circling back to those foundation skills that he was missing. Sylvan is absolutely amazing. To get a teen boy to want to go to tutoring and say, "Mom, why didn't we do this sooner?" was impressive to me. It's been a straightforward and great experience for him. It's super easy for me and it's what you need when you're already frustrated to the point of needing a tutor.

We came two years ago from Europe so my son didn't know very much English. We signed him up at Sylvan and he had been very happy with this tutoring. The feedback from school is very good, too. All in all, it's a very easy option for us and they are very good professionals. They helped us very much with learning English as a second language so we had been very happy with them.

We’ve had the same tutor from Sylvan Learning Centers every time except for this week ‘cause she’s on vacation. We're doing math for right now. But then, we’re gonna do a little bit of everything during the summer. We’re gonna work on reading and comprehension. My child seems a little bit more confident when he was doing regular schoolwork. But he does have a little bit more confidence when getting the work completed and having it done right.

Columbus does not have many centers like Sylvan. So, there was only one option for us to go to, Sylvan. It was for about eight weeks, four hours a day class. My son found it much better to go and do face-to-face learning with them. He’s also using their online app to get some practice. He had a pretty much good experience and discipline to sit for that four hours and do SAT and ECP. He’s not a person who does online learning, so he found going to the center there was much effective for him so that there’s somebody who can actually stay with him, and to see how he’s doing his work, and help him with his questions.

I used a different tutoring system at one time but it was an in-person and it was too far to travel for us to make it work for my daughter. We were trying to find something quick that would work for her and Sylvan seemed to work well. We used it for that short period of time for preparation for her AP Calc exam. It did great for her and it fit. Joanne was very helpful in facilitating it and getting it underway.

It seems to have been much better with Sylvan compared to my previous tutoring option. My children have gotten more experienced with Math, Reading and confidence. I've been satisfied. I would continue to do it and other people should try them.

In the past, Sylvan had worked with individuals with ADD. My son was diagnosed with ADD and they helped him learn to use certain types of skills that they instilled in him. They said, “Maybe if you read it this way and take your time.” It was their style of teaching to help him with his disability. We started out with Reading and then renewed the contract because they did so well. We also added on Math. He went from his grades barely passing to being an honor roll student. Sylvan is a good school and I’d highly recommend it. It’s definitely worth the money, no ands, ifs, or buts. There’s nothing better than to see the happiness on your child’s face.

Sylvan is a great resource and if your child needs help. Even though I don't see a significant difference in Desiree's performance at school, when she goes to Sylvan, she completes her assignment. She understands the material, it's just a matter of getting her to do her homework. They gave her the kind of help she needed to get it done and she didn't feel so alone about it. I would definitely recommend giving Sylvan a try.

The tutoring place where my son used to go to like giving homework, and my son didn’t like homeworks. It was also paper-based and he wanted to do iPad-based. He is going to Sylvan now and he likes them. He is doing math, reading, and writing, and the tutor helped him improve in speed and understanding the concept. He doesn’t have any anxiety with them. He is open and the flow is very smooth between the student and teacher. So, go ahead and give them a try as well.

Sylvan is a good place to improve your skills for any subject. I focused mostly in Math, and for ACC setting, I went from a 19 to a 23. It's a pretty good jump because I took it two times before and I kept on getting a 19. Sylvan is better than the other tutoring I had because I was able to talk to somebody and ask about the questions that I had. From there, I was able to focus on the questions that I found myself stumbling on, to study on them more. So if you put in the hardcore focus and study, then you’ll be able to use them as a good resource.

Sylvan helped my daughter with her homework in Science and Math. She liked going there and she got a lot more confident when she had somebody that helped her. The only reason we stopped is because her brother is now able to tutor her.

So as I sat here and listen to them go over what can do to help my child and we get to pricing it occurred to me, what if I didn't have money to help my child become a better student which in hindsight my child would have a better future, go on to college and have a chance in this world that is constantly changing. My child would be left in the dust, left behind to have a low paying job or even worst getting into things that would land him or her behind bars. They offer financing, but let's be real here, people with low income just don't have good credit. Some don't even have fair credit. I'm blessed that I am able to send my child here, I just don't know what would happened if I wasn't able.

My daughter has been going to Sylvan for reading since November and it’s really helpful. She is in third grade right now and got up at least to green level in the 2 months that she’s been there. There's also a little bit of difference in her confidence. Our experience has been great so far and I like most their location and the times that they have available.

My son's best friend did tutoring when he was a little kid. My son also did SAT prep at Sylvan and his score came up about 100 points. It was great. You get to get money for it since it pays for itself. I have been really happy. As far as they've always had openings, we're still doing it. He still has a couple of more hours 'cause he's gonna retake the other test again. We've got four hours left but it has been nothing but great things. I do career counseling for a school at the future center and I volunteer there for 20 hours a week. If I suspect that financially it's an affordable thing, I give a hand-out and so I support Sylvan.

Sylvan’s been awesome. My son is there for reading and it’s been really empowering for him. He walks out better than he walks in every time, so it makes me happy. Everything’s been going really well. He's in second grade. He hasn't been there for some time because I’ve had some health issues and hadn’t been working. I didn’t have income to pay, but he’s on a schedule to start back today. It's one of the best investment people can make in their child even if they aren’t struggling.

Sylvan is one of the only options around our area, and I had had a cousin who worked for them in the past. My son went there for math and he has improved about a grade and a half. It’s also relieved the anxiety he had about going to school and doing math. He’s still not quite up to his grade at this point though. We had hoped he would be up to his grade level by the time he was done but he’s not quite up to grade level yet. Still, he enjoyed it a lot and he has improved. Sylvan was really expensive but they were great and I would recommend them.

We have a Sylvan center here in Albemarle and I like that it’s more one-on-one. It’s not like going to the local library or having a tutor come to our house. It’s a different and nice setting. My son is working with them and they’ve helped him a lot in reading. From going to not knowing the word “it” and “is” to basically learning a whole new vocabulary, it’s amazing. He loves the point system and that’s the best thing ever. Before I did Sylvan, I was bribing him with stuff and he wasn’t having it. So, if a friend or family member would ask about Sylvan, I would tell them that they definitely have to go with Sylvan. Hands down, they’re the best.

Sylvan is local and we know some of the people that work there. My child goes there for reading and they worked on improving her reading comprehension and speed. It was a good learning experience for her. The environment was nice and the instructors were very friendly and helpful. However, while the learning was good and I believe the reading helped her, it didn’t exactly translate into an improvement in her ACT score when she retook it which was what we were after. Still, I would recommend Sylvan.

I was referred to Sylvan by one of my daughter's school's counselors and the tutors there helped her a lot in Math. Her situation is really different and she hasn't taken Math, so she needed to catch up on it. She needed the skills that she didn't have. The tutors are definitely patient and able to explain things in a way that she understands.

I used to have a single lady tutor and then I went with Sylvan. I happen to see a commercial one day and my husband, mom, and I all thought about it then I gave them a try. My son was struggling with reading so it seemed a good choice to try. Now, he's doing very well. I like the fact that we go in monthly for a conference to see how he's progressing, which is great. I would definitely recommend Sylvan.

We’ve had a great experience with Sylvan. They’ve been very responsive. My son was in the program for around three months, and I’ve seen improvement in his SAT scores. So I’m happy.

I really appreciate all that Sylvan has done for my daughter thus far. She has been in the program for about four months. She’s doing reading and math, and it helped her grades. Her grades in school have went up. And she enjoys going there. She really likes it and looks forward to going there. So, it has been a great experience for her and myself.

My son was with Sylvan, working on Math, and is doing better. We took a little break but we're going back tonight. I only wish they were closer to my house. I live in Loxahatchee, and I have to drive 45 minutes away. Other than that, I would recommend it.

My son is doing reading and math at Sylvan, and he's been in the program for 5 months already. He’s in fourth grade and he was making 60s on his tests. Now, his test scores have gone up and he’s doing 100s and 90s and above, which is a huge progress, so it’s been amazing. Everything’s been great.

My son who is in 3rd grade and my daughter who is in 8th grade are doing reading and math at Sylvan. My son’s been in there going on for a year now while my daughter just started, and both of them like going. There’s a lot of improvement that’s going on on both of them and my son had an improvement with his reading and vocabulary. The tutors pick up where the children are behind at and work with them to get them up to speed. They’re doing wonderful things with my kids and I would recommend Sylvan.

Sylvan has been excellent and I’ve recommended it to friends as well. They’ve been really good helping my son with reading and writing. He has ADHD and he's making some progress writing. He’s also made a lot of improvement with his reading skills, from not reading at grade level to reading at grade level in just three months or so. The director, Don, is very helpful and always takes time to help me out with things. He makes sure he gets enough support at school and then the tutoring people are very helpful too.

I'm having Sylvan Learning Center focus on Math with my child. My child is in 6th grade, but her math skills are that of a 1st grader. We're still getting a little better there. We're starting on simple multiplication and simple division. Now, she’s a little more confident getting started on the work. She tries to do it instead of just looking and staring at the problems. She may not get the right answer all the time but that's normally what happens.

My child wasn't doing too well in writing, so we gave Sylvan Learning a shot. The prices are a little steep but it's worth it for education. We're doing mostly the writing, more English based things and reading. The one-on-one helps build her confidence. That's the biggest thing. She's slowly gaining the understanding and confidence on how to write, set up paragraphs and stay on that subject. It lets her know that it isn't that hard and that there's a structure to it and that she'll do well if she just follows it. She also knows about the coins and she's excited about it. She likes getting stuff like that.

I Googled how to get someone who could get my child to read. Then there was an ad and so I called Sylvan. They changed us from trying phonics with him to learning grade-level sight words because he was older. My child's learning experience was good. Sylvan definitely gave me help and hope, and he is reading much better. I, however, had to quit right now due to money and since my mother-in-law is very sick. Still, overall, it was a good experience and I would recommend it. Give it a try.

My son needed a tutor in reading and Sylvan Learning Center was the cheapest. He has only been going there for a couple of weeks and so far, the experience has been good. They’re nice and I enjoy interacting with the people that work there. I would tell others to try it out, too.

Sylvan's cost and availability on dates I needed made me go with them. How soon they could start also played a role in the decision. My child needed a tutor for reading. The learning experience through them has been organized, logical and structured, and their professionals have been customer-friendly. We are still working on it, but we are making improvement with fluency and comprehension. Overall, it seems to work.

The teaching staff are excellent and the experience as a whole is excellent. I would highly recommend this as a tutoring option for anyone studying. Adult student and public and secondary student. I have seen such improvement words can not describe how indebted to the success of my children I am to Sylvan. The results are life changing.

Sylvan had great reviews online, so I went with them. The tutor focused on math with my child. They helped with math homework and they went over some exams. My son loves the experience. The professionals there have been good, friendly and always on time. Overall, Sylvan is a great opportunity that others should take advantage of, especially if their child needs it.

I heard good things about Sylvan so I had them to tutor my child on reading. He did the testing so they could see where he is at, so that they would know how to work with him. I'm trying to get him the help he needs and the learning experience so far is good, seeing that he needs some work. Sylvan is a nice place to take your child to get the help they need.

I had heard really good reviews about Sylvan. My son’s elementary school teacher used to work for them and she had nothing but good things to say. It was at the same exact Sylvan that we’re at right now too. Even though they were slightly on the more expensive end of what we were looking to spend, after talking to them and talking to a couple other tutoring places, their style of tutoring and their philosophy really went more in line with what we were looking for than other places.

When I talked to Sylvan, I liked the people I was talking to. I had a good initial interview so I went with them. I would recommend them. The tutor focussed on my child's math and it's good so far. We're only a couple of months in and I noticed there's definite improvement in understanding.

When I registered for my son for Sylvan's ACT classes, I paid them. He has the test in June and he goes over there every Saturday. After that, they said that my son was not good at English. I paid for English classes for my son and they put the ACT classes on hold. They said the classes are gonna come back in March. After that, my son told me he wanted to take the test in April. I called and talked with someone. I told her to have Tuesdays for ACT classes and Saturdays for English classes. But yesterday, my son came home and told me they didn’t focus on ACT, but on English. English classes are on Saturdays already. Why does my son need the four hours for the English class? Other than that, they treat my son very well and if he goes there, he’s very happy. They have the knowledge and they're improving his knowledge in the time they teach him.

Sylvan is definitely a prudent option for children who are underachieving. I feel like their people are caring. I have used them in the past and this time, I focussed on reading.

We sent my older daughter to Sylvan Learning Center about six years ago. My niece started there and she did very well, so we enrolled my daughter and she did well, too. And the location was convenient at that time. My child was having a hard time comprehending the process in Algebra, but her experience was positive. She seemed pleased with her teacher and she brought her grades up to grade levels. I would highly recommend Sylvan.

My children have learning disabilities and are well below their grade level. A friend of mine highly suggested Sylvan Learning Centers because they worked great for her growing up. We interviewed with them and with Kumon. We chose Sylvan because the director was very professional and precise. He explained everything. And he really understood and connected with us and had a genuine feeling of caring to be able to provide my children with assistance.

I've used a different tutoring option prior to Sylvan, and Sylvan is better. They give me more options. My daughter is enrolled with them and currently, they’re focusing on English and phonics. We just had our progress meeting the other day and she’s gotten much better. I also got her report card yesterday and her grades have increased by one level. So, they're meeting my expectations. Sylvan is a little pricey, but worth it. Their employees are very professional, patient, and nice. I feel valued.

Sylvan was our last hope. We had used two different tutors, and they were nice teachers, but our son was not improving at all. My mother-in-law is a retired teacher, and she worked for Sylvan many years ago in Massachusetts, and she had said, "You should try Sylvan." So we thought, "Let's try that and see. This'll be our last ditch effort." And it's been amazing. First, we did reading comprehension, which he was horrible in. And then, as he improved, we needed to work on writing. His learning experience through Sylvan has been incredible. He wants to go and he's excited to go.

I’ve heard the name Sylvan and they’ve been around a good long time. Two of my friends have used them for their children, so I started with them and didn’t look anywhere else. My son has tutoring for reading, language, and grammar, and it’s made a great improvement. He just said this week that he has gained so much confidence, and he really feels like he knows what he’s doing now. And looking at some of the work he did three weeks ago, he said, “Yeah, I was really dumb back then.” So, I said, “Oh. Well, maybe we can prove it now.” He said, “Oh, yeah. I can totally do this.” And he just settled in right off. So, it’s a huge difference. Sylvan targeted what’s really the problem and they do the testing. They can really see where the deficiencies are. The schedule is really good as well. It’s not too much at one time. They targeted improvement and that’s where it really helps.

Sylvan has been working on closing my child's first grade gap. He's in the second grade right now but he has never closed some gaps previously. They're working on Reading, Math and Writing and so far, my child's handwriting skill has gotten better. When he brought his test papers home last week, he had perfect scores on everything but one. Sylvan a good program to use.

Sylvan meets my particular daughter’s needs better than the other tutoring service did. They are very friendly and encouraging. They tailor their curriculum to meet her specific needs and abilities. My daughter is making progress. If you can afford the time and the expense, it’s a great opportunity.

Prior to Sylvan, I had a couple of other options where one was private tutoring and another one was something similar to Kumon. What sold me on Sylvan was a combination of Jackie, who I spoke with over there, and the seemingly more holistic approach as opposed to one subject. Unfortunately, there was one of the subjects that nobody can help me with. But my kids are in Mandarin, so that’s really tough to find a tutor for.

So far, it's been going really well. My son likes it. They're doing reading and writing. Sylvan is teaching him more about using details and sentence structure. We've been doing the program for almost two months now and my son is definitely more confident. The program that they use really drives my son. It's helpful. He doesn't wanna stop going because he loves the incentives.

My husband and I used Sylvan when we were younger and it was a good experience for us. We enrolled our daughter with them and she’s been attending for a month or two now. They’re focusing on reading and writing. They’ve been doing different lessons and they use tiles that have upper case and lower case. The learning experience seems good so far. She’s doing well and she’s gotten a little bit better in school. So, there’s an improvement ‘cause of Sylvan. She also really likes the rewarding and she’s excited every time she leaves for her lessons. I would recommend Sylvan. It’s a good place and they have passionate workers, which makes all the difference.

Sylvan wasn’t as expensive as the others in the area. A teacher recommended them and a co-worker of mine, whose child was the same age as mine, saw good things with them. So, I had two recommendations. The tutor focused on reading and a little comprehension. She was very patient with my child, and helped build her confidence too. Sylvan is a safe and loving environment for the kids. And even when the kid’s having a bad day, they find ways to work around and still incorporate learning in a different way, other than just sitting at the table or going over things. My child likes the point system where they can collect coins a little too much, and I always have to have a talk with her. "Save your points. We’re not picking anything today."

My son and daughter both had a hard time with reading, letter recognition and sound. They were not doing good for their group, for kindergarten and first grade. And so, I was told they might have to stay back. I didn’t want that to happen so we went to Sylvan. My son went there first, and now, my daughter is attending there. I've had great results with my son, and I've already seen improvements with my daughter. We definitely enjoyed. Sylvan is very flexible. I'm in the military and sometimes, my time would change. If I message or call them, they find me another time slot to bring my daughter. They work with me very well. I appreciate that.

At the time that we went with Sylvan, they were running a special so the price was right for us. My son hasn’t been there very long and his confidence has gone up tremendously. He is now starting to sound out words, which is really nice. He wasn’t able to do that before. He does collect his points and he really enjoys picking something out with them. Sylvan has a price board of some sort. I would definitely recommend Sylvan to anybody whose kids are having problems with reading. They make the biggest difference in a child, the way they view themselves. My son would wake up in the morning and just cry that he didn’t wanna go to school. Now, I have no problem waking him up and getting him up for school.

Friends of ours were successful with Sylvan and they liked them. They referred us to them and I trusted their referral. My son is in third grade and he's a good student but he struggles with reading. The tutoring made him read better. One can hear it when he reads and he has a positive attitude. He's ecstatic about it. They're meeting twice a week for two hours and the one on one helped him. While we have just started the writing, there's a lot of improvement already in reading.

My son was to take the SAT and needed help in only the math section. He didn’t have enough time to take the full amount of courses before his test date so we bought max that he could fit in before the test. Well of course something came up (a car issue) and my son didn’t know he had to call in advance to let them know, and since he was already cramming all the class times in that he could before the date he couldn’t make it up before the test. There were never fewer than 2 other children in the class so him not being there would not change the fact that the tutor had to be there.

My granddaughter has been attending Sylvan Learning for a couple of months and she has really improved especially with her spelling. She is excited to go every week and her confidence has been boosted. School is a lot more fun as she definitely feels valued by her peers and her teachers. I am so pleased with how Sylvan Learning engages with both the families and the students.

I have been in Sylvan for more than half a year now, and I found out that my English had improved a lot and that is why I can write this review no problem at all. I will definitely recommend Sylvan Learning, especially the one in White Rock.

I went with Sylvan for homework help for my child. The tutor is more knowledgeable about what teachers are looking for. They help the child get past whatever mental block they're having and ask the appropriate types of questions. Then, the kid is the one who does the work and gets through that. Thus far, I think their system works. At Sylvan, there are all these really bright kids, who love to go to school and they also have kids who can’t stand school but need to get it done. Sylvan has to balance that and they do all right.

My son is autistic but Sylvan had no problem accommodating him. They weren’t stressed out about it. They did one-on-one tutoring with him, focusing on reading, and they pulled out all the stops. He actually learned how to read better through the summer than he is now through his school. If it wasn’t so pricey, I would probably have him at Sylvan through the year. But I can only do it for the summer to teach him on his reading before school. We are thinking about homeschooling him and having him tutored at Sylvan. They’re really good. The school system should look into them. If you’re gonna talk about how you don't want to have all these dropouts, then they should pull out all the stops.

A friend had mentioned to me that they knew several people that used Sylvan that had good results. So, I also went with them for my 10-year-old child and they're working on his mathematics and writing. He's been with them for about a month and a half now, and his grades have improved greatly. It has gone from C's and D's to A's and B's. Also, he's more confident about doing the work, which played a big part in it as well. He really likes that they're patient and everybody seems very friendly. I would highly recommend them.

We used to have a high school student tutor my daughter before we put her in a tutoring class in Sylvan. The biggest advantage with them is the proportion of the teacher-student ratio, which was the biggest thing that we were looking for, so that she gets at least a little bit of personalized attention. Also, it's convenient since it's very close by to our house. She's enrolled in math and writing class, and we wanted her to focus more on writing and get more practice on it. She's been getting different concepts to write and they have been giving her regular feedback on the different punctuation and how more she can explore her creative side. And, we can see that gets reflected in her writing a little bit.

My daughter is s new with phonics so we’re doing Math and Reading with them and she’s been there three weeks to a month now. The consistency or right terms are helping her understand the rules or the subject. Sylvan is a little expensive, but what they have to offer is great because my daughter loves going. I would highly recommend them.

People at Sylvan do a nice job. The kids wanna go there. They don’t feel like it’s a burden that they have go get tutored because the tutors make it a really good atmosphere there. They’re friendly and very accommodating, and they get the kids to focus. Carolyn has been very accommodating with schedules. She has been great and she gives the kids a lot of confidence. The kids have been with them for about four months now, for reading and then ACT prep, and everything has been going really well. On the ACT, we went up overall, three points. The reading helped my son in regular test-taking to get through his test. I would highly recommend Sylvan.

My daughter and I like Sylvan. She feels like she’s learning a lot. We’ve also done Kumon for years. Both are equally good. Sylvan tends to be more expensive. So, I have to weigh my options as far as where I can maximize my money and time. My daughter is doing writing with Sylvan. She feels like she can build up on her ideas better. She always had the ideas, and she has gotten way better in organizing them and putting them in a format. It helps her in school as well. I go in for evaluation, and they’re very thorough with what they’re gonna do next and what my daughter is working on, how much improvement she’s made, and what is their next goal with her. It’s good to have that communication because as a parent I’m not there for each session, so I know that she’s making progress.

Sylvan was our first time going into tutoring. My child is a little bit different in that he’s actually very smart academically, but he needed a place where he could focus on his work. He was able to focus on his work there, but they had some tutors that were experienced enough that they could handle the AP classes that he was taking. He values it, and for my son to value something that makes him go do schoolwork says something. We ended up signing up for it again this year. So, he was very willing to go there and focus his work time when he’s there. And he likes the tutors that he has. The gentleman that he works with works at the community college, so he can handle AP Physics and AP Calculus. I’m quite happy with the Sylvan situation that we’re in. They’ve tailored the service to what Ryan needs. I certainly would recommend it to others.

Sylvan is a referral from family. My daughter is focusing on Reading and Math, and she has been steadily improving. I had a parent-teacher conference last week. And the tutor said that as long as my daughter continues to improve the way she has been, she doesn't see there being any issues.

My daughter loves the teachers at Sylvan Learning. They're focusing on writing and reading with her, and they've had great interactions. They were good about giving me updates at the end of her sessions. They were really great. I was impressed at how personalized the learning was at Sylvan, that they really looked at right through the assessment, really looking at where her strengths were, and how they moved her through the curriculum rather than just start at the beginning.

Sylvan Learning have a good tutor. They explained the technique. The tutor is very patient. The price is high. But my child improved a lot. I am very happy with that way so far. But if the price is a little cheaper, that will be nice.

My daughter has been with Sylvan for a couple of months. But I haven’t seen any update of what I’m paying. I don’t think there is enough information being conveyed between the teacher or any staff person and myself. And it’s usually somebody different depending on the day that she’s there. So, I’m not sure with scheduling and so on and so forth. So, those are kind of a little bit of the things that I have a issue with, especially when you’re paying $49 an hour.

We were preparing for the SAT and Sylvan seemed like the best option for us. My son spent time with them and they helped improve tactics. They were flexible with us for accommodating the schedule we were looking for. It seems like my son's experience has gone okay. I'm waiting for the result of the SAT to see whether it did a significant difference or not.

Sylvan was one of the few options we've had in our area other than a Mathnasium of some sort. My son was transitioning from elementary school to middle school and was challenged with workload volume, study habits, and other things. We're working through broad subjects overall, and it's more to get him a little more adept to process changes that he never had or how to use the computer and speak with his teacher, so on and so forth. He struggled in the first quarter as he had 1 or 2 C's. Then, on the second quarter, he was all B's. He seems to be excited or a little more engaged now.

I have two of my kids in there. My one kid is out already and he is on always honor roll right now. My other kid was struggling. We moved across the country which I think it impacted him, and his grades took a big dive. He got all his grades up now to all As and Bs, and he has one C. So, I’ve seen a big turnaround and both my kids are doing great with huge improvements. The tutor worked on reading and writing. My kids get along with their tutor. At the Sylvan they go to, there’s a reward system where you can earn tokens and you can get a prize at the end of the week and so, they enjoy that. Sylvan is a great option. One should strongly consider it.

Sylvan's staff is so kind and friendly. They are the closest to our area, and they are good to the kids. Prior to using them, we used a school option but they were ineffective. Comparing the two, there is a huge difference. We didn’t see it right away. We saw it after three months of going. My child's test scores, as well as his confidence, improved. He has autism, so when we first tested him and when the school tested him, he was not even at kindergarten level. Now, going two years, he has gone to third grade level. We focused first on English, and now we are focusing on Math. He asked to go there, so that is good. Try it.

My friend recommended Sylvan Learning to me. We used Kumon before. Sylvan is much better than Kumon, but it’s more expensive because it’s one on one, and through Kumon, it’s more on your own. We needed help with English - reading and writing. Whatever Sylvan Learning did helped a lot. I also liked that they’re really very nice and professional. They care about the kid they teach. We had a good experience with them.

We had an unfortunate experience at Sylvan, we were extremely excited to have our daughter start tutoring at Sylvan after reading about success stories. Our daughter was finishing 4th grade and was testing at a 2nd grade reading level, we decided to meet with the sylvan team to see if they could help our daughter. They told us with confidence that our daughter after finishing the program they had set up for her would be on a beginning 5th grade level. We of course were on board with this because we would do anything for our child to help her succeed. We ended up paying $9,000 for her set program at Sylvan, about halfway through I was voicing my concerns that I haven’t noticed any difference in her reading. I was told many times she was making amazing progress until the sessions were about to end and I had my daughter tested somewhere else to really see where she was at.

When we first brought our grandson to Sylvan learning in our community (Temecula) the directors were kind and considerate of our situation. We have temporary custody of our grandson and he need immediate resources. The previous directors accommodate us on a weekly/hourly bases and we paid every week. Our grandson enjoyed going and we saw growth, so this is not about the teachers that actually provide services. Shortly after our grandson was going new ownership unexpectedly came in and took over and started meeting with the parents and not allowing any further communication with the old directors. From that point I felt uncomfortable with the new owners and felt it was all about financial and not the children. However, they informed me they were keeping the same children. They made no reference to changing how we paid, they gave us their hourly schedule and how many hours needed to see improvement.

We are extremely impressed with the learning experience that our son Ali has at Sylvan 130 Ave location. Ali has progressed and gained confidence at public school. That also was reflected on his report cards and started receiving high marks. Thank you Sylvan teachers for our great work and support.

I sent my son to Sylvan when he was younger and it helped him, so I figured it'd help my granddaughter. She was several grade levels behind in reading. The tutors are focused on her reading, vocabulary, summary, and the important and unimportant details. Her self-confidence has gone up exponentially. She just started middle school and is now performing at grade level. I credit her confidence to Sylvan. She’s more accepting and not as frustrated. She has more focus and sees the value. Everyone has been nice, not only to my granddaughter but also to myself and her parents.

My daughter's reading skills have improved within two weeks. And she has demonstrated a renewed interest in reading. As a third grader she is now reading 3-4 books and pages from a chapter book each night. I'm very satisfied with my daughter attending Sylvan Learning Center.

Updated on 08/20/2019: No way to respond to reply of Sylvan, so let me just finish by saying that all the "sudden" closures over numerous years doesn't speak to your reputation as a company and the vetting you do of potential franchisees. Sylvan can't possibly expect people to believe that it receives none of the monies generated by its franchise, especially since there is a quality control factor. Be an upstanding business and give the people their money back.

I gained custody of my nephew 5 years ago. He started 3rd grade with me and he's been behind in reading from the beginning. He'd missed out on a lot of foundational building skills. Even with IEP and Reading enrichment classes he couldn't catch up because his comprehension was not developed. 4 months after starting with Sylvan he tested at grade level at school and was allowed to have an elective for the last semester in his second year of Middle School. All because of the help at Sylvan.

We have had a positive and encouraging experience with Sylvan in Saint Charles. Our son needed additional learning support for Math, Reading, and Writing so we had him tested at Sylvan before enrolling him in their educational program. Both the directors as well as the teachers have been instrumental in our son's growth and knowledge of these subjects. Thank you Sylvan in Saint Charles.

Whatever you do don't pay in full! We started our services at the Shawnee Ks location a week before the 15th of the month which is when you have to give notice if you are not going to continue. After 10 hours were used we determined it was not a good fit for our son. Unfortunately we didn't give notice by the 15th (which was a week before we started) and they took an entire month of our upfront payment which was ~$1000. Huge mistake on our part for thinking the owners (out of the Overland Park, KS office) would give us some grace and refund us 2 months back. I would really consider a private tutor you can pay as you go vs. signing your life away at Sylvan. We (nor any of our friends) will recommend any of the greater KC area Sylvan Learning Centers EVER! My son has been going to Sylvan Learning Center in Knightdale since summer of 2018 (a couple of evenings a week) to help him overcome some learning challenges he's been working through. Lack of confidence in reading and math, focus/visual learning issues, ADHD and social/emotional challenges were major hurdles when we started, and I am really impressed with the continued interest the Director and her teachers have in helping my son realize his potential and learn to work through his insecurities and try his best.

This Sylvan isn't even using certified teachers anymore, and they have -8- students to a table. I thought Sylvan would give my child a better experience than this. What a HUGE disappointment. I cannot believe this owner is allowed to call his business "Sylvan". Are all Sylvan's going to this new standard? When I found out my daughter was being tutored by the RECEPTIONIST I was appalled. They laid off EVERY SINGLE good teacher and director, administrative staff and everything in between. I will NEVER trust Sylvan with my children again.

I was having difficulty finding somebody who was private and I knew that Sylvan Learning was already established. My son used them when he was in second grade so, I went back. The tutor helped my child built her confidence up, and she went from a D to a B, and held a B the whole rest of the year. I would recommend Sylvan. My child’s learning experience was wonderful since we got a tutor from them and she was always happy when she left. She has enjoyed it and she’s like, “I had a great session”. She’s still going and will finish up the end of June. Then, we’re gonna give her a little summer break.

There’s a tutoring center at the college where I go at Tacoma Community College. But the tutoring that I received at Sylvan was much more thorough. At the college, they were helping me with a particular assignment. But because the school is limited, they’re really only able to help you with a particular assignment. With Sylvan, the tutoring that I received would actually benefit every area of writing. They helped me understand grammar, the pre-writing process, what goes into your introductory paragraph and how to relate the body paragraph to your thesis. So all of that was actually helping me for the next assignment. I would be able to use that.

I took a look at what Sylvan Learning was offering and talked with a local lady. She was very nice and helpful. Sylvan knew what they were doing and had a good plan. I had the tutor help my child on Reading and Math, and the greatest thing was giving her more confidence that she could do it. I don't know if she made as much progress as we wanted to see but she had a good relationship. They made it fun and she was happy to go every week. It was a good experience and it was helpful to our daughter. We have a monthly progress meeting to let us know her growth. Sylvan has done a nice job and I would recommend them but it's very expensive.

Pretty much I brought my child to Sylvan Learning Center to help increase both Math and reading comprehension skills. Before my child started I was promised a few things and unfortunately they never happened. 1; I was told they would reach out to my child school and teacher, so that they would be on the same page as far as helping my child. This never happened. In fact my child teacher didn't even know she attended Sylvan, until myself and my child told her. Once I found this out I reached out to the head manager at my child's location. The lady apologized unsympathetically and said she will reach out personally and asked for my child's teacher info again and still no one reached out to the teacher. What a joke.

Hello I will not recommend the CHAMPAIGN IL facility to anyone. When I decided that I wanted my son to attend them they said he will guaranteed learn everything he needs to learn & it’s going on 2 months he hasn't gained anything they said he will. In fact he hates to go because he said there is a certain tutor that is very mean to him to a adjusted it to where he does work with her. They understood and switched him (but not yet solved the problem of her being mean to my child). Also my child said no one helps him with anything he comes in every day just to be on a tablet (so I’m paying for my child to be on a tablet when he can do that at home? hmmmm).

The tutors at Sylvan Learning are focusing on my child's reading and math and they're doing good so far. He’s a math child but being in middle school, math has changed a little bit. With Sylvan, he's more comfortable now and his quiz scores are going up. He is now where he is supposed to be. He has always been there, but we wanted to make sure that he was more comfortable. I would let my friends know that we’ve enjoyed Sylvan so far. We have one-on-ones. They always contact us if anything is needed. My child absolutely loves it so I would definitely recommend Sylvan.

My daughter was two and a half years behind in math and the school didn't offer tutoring. I've always heard good things about Sylvan Learning and it worked miracles with my daughter. I noticed her grades are getting better and her math teacher told me the other day that whatever I've done to my daughter is working. Sylvan Learning is awesome. I like the way they teach and I like one of the teachers there. My daughter also feels good that she's being rewarded for what she's doing.

I kept seeing a lot of commercials about Sylvan Learning Center and it looked like a good program that I would be interested in for my son. The tutor focused on the Math subject and my son has improved substantially better than when he did not go. His learning experience has been positive. Sylvan is education-focused but very friendly and caring. I have recommended them to a couple of my coworkers whose child is struggling in areas in school.

The Sylvan tutors focused on both ELA and Math and they helped immensely not only in those subject areas but also overall towards school. Both of my children were tested at the beginning of the sessions and were tested at least two to three grades, almost four grades below grade level. We’ve only been there less than a year but they are all currently up to grade. Sylvan made my children’s learning experience fun enough so it was not a chore for them to learn. They will learn something at Sylvan, then a week or two later, they will learn it in school and they will be excited because they know what is going on. I have recommended Sylvan and have encouraged anyone with children that are having problems in school, not only for their basic program, but also for their STEM program and their homework help.

I used Sylvan when I was a kid and it helped me, so I figured it'd help my kids. The tutor focuses on my child's reading and phonics subjects and my child's confidence had gone up exponentially. Sylvan Learning is very family oriented and I felt comfortable right off the bat. Everyone has been nice, not only to my son but also to myself and my daughter. Any experience that I've seen with other families has been nothing but positive as well.

I am in education and I've heard good things about Sylvan Learning. They are doing math and reading with my child and it has helped tremendously. Before we did Sylvan, I had only one child and she’s nine years old, but we had to struggle with her in Math and in her work when she comes home. Since we decided to take her to Sylvan, it has been great. She became very good in Math. Multiplication and addition bounced around her head. It was impressive. It's a big relief. The tutor from Sylvan Learning and I are focusing on my child's reading and she improved drastically. She read a whole book by herself last night. She looks forward to tutoring and likes going to Sylvan Learning. I would recommend them.

I used to have a tutoring program and I didn't want them for my daughter when she needed one. One of my daughter's guidance counselors used Sylvan and she was pleased. Their reviews also made me go with them. We got them for my daughter's math, English, and the SAT test, and we loved the tutor. My daughter really connected with her tutor who was very approachable, easy-going, and phenomenal. We had a great experience. My daughter took the PSAT before we used Sylvan and she will be retaking it in August so we're gonna reconnect with Sylvan again in June. They really helped her as far as standardized tests in general. So if you're considering them, then definitely use them.

I did a Google search for math tutors because there are a lot of small colleges around this area of Burlington, Vermont. I thought there would be somebody out there who needed some extra cash, like a college student, to help my daughter with her Math and it would be easy. My daughter is 15 and I wanna know who she is associated with. When I started finding people, they were not caring so much about Math but just on making a few extra dollars. That was fine but that was not what I was looking to help my daughter improve her Math scores. I tried Sylvan and it seemed to be a good fit.

Sylvan Learning Centers was the closest tutoring option to my home so we went with them. The subject areas that the tutors have been focusing on were study skills and math. The tutee's confidence and his math grade have improved, and his test anxiety has become lower. Everything has been great with the tutors and they’ve been very informative. They’ve had a meeting with the tutee's math teacher at his school, along with myself, so we’re all on the same page and that has been really good. Our experience with Sylvan Learning Centers has been great and I would definitely recommend them.

After reading Sylvan's reviews online with Google, I got them for my kid. The tutor focuses on English and Mathematics and my kid's grades have come up a little bit. He doesn’t like the tutoring, though. He didn’t like reading too. But Sylvan is excellent and very professional, and they're all very nice to him. They're good people, kind and they're working hard. They also work with me if we have to miss for doctor’s. I really like them.

We have a tutor from Sylvan Learning Centers for our child. We had friends that recommended it. Our son’s problem was with details and they really focused in on the details for both math and reading. He is doing fine so far and he has been going to Sylvan for two years. He drives himself to the place and brings home a report of what he did for the day. We also meet with the director once a month. It has been a fantastic learning experience from Sylvan and I would highly recommend them. Our son is much more confident in both reading and math and his grades have improved significantly.

We were trying a private tutor but after two weeks, we realized that it wasn’t gonna work out. We then decided to go with Sylvan Learning Centers. My child enjoys going there. Although she would like to go every day, I couldn’t afford that, so she goes twice a week. Sylvan focuses on Math and reading. My child’s scores are going up a lot on her testing but a lot of that has to do with her self-esteem and the Sylvan tutors have done wonders with her in two months. I love them. They’ve done everything that I could think of. They even attend the IT meetings for my daughter now. They have been really helpful and have been advocating for what she needs.

My daughter has a learning disability, so I had to find somebody that could help her. We had her tested last year and the recommendation was to use Sylvan Learning Centers, but we couldn’t afford them. Although we're not doing the tutoring with them, we're now doing the Sylvan Learning at the academy where my daughter goes to school full-time with them. Everything has been wonderful in my dealings with the people at Sylvan. My daughter is a seventh grader and since she has been going to the academy, she has grown from a 1.3 grade level to the 3rd grade level. Now, she went from a 2nd grade to a 4th grade level.

I have had my child in the program with Sylvan Learning for about two and a half months now and the tutor has focused on reading, comprehension, sight words, spelling, sounds, and letter sounds. My child has improved quite a lot. They were expecting him to learn one new skill per visit, but at his 30-visit assessment, he had learned 53. He is also doing much better in his reading classes at school. Though he is still shy there, they are working to help build his confidence. I can't talk good enough about Sylvan. It is absolutely wonderful. My child enjoys going there and is excited to go every day, and it has been such a great thing for him. The staff at Sylvan is amazing. They do more than just reading and math. During the summer, they have camps where you can do robotics. They also have the STEAM Program summer camp.

I'm a regional director for Sylvan, and my kids attend Sylvan. They're always our guinea pigs and they have done every Sylvan program. The tutor focused on writing with my kids, and their confidence improved. My son's writing stamina definitely increased, and he was always excited to be at Sylvan because they made the program fun and engaging. The teachers are actual teachers, and they personalize the program for the individual's needs. They initially did an assessment, so we knew exactly what he needed to work on and then, that's exactly what was focused on. They are also able to make additional adjustments, if necessary, even minute-by-minute changes. Going with Sylvan was a wonderful decision and I'd do it again.

My child is in first grade and she got 50% on her math test so I got her a tutor from Sylvan. In fact, they have helped her with her spelling homework before, but she is above grade level in reading. She does fabulous when she gets to guess with the word in English. She's a fill-in-the-blank and goes really fast. She can do and answer any recall questions you want from third-grade books. She only needs assistance with math and she has been in the program for two months. So far, she only missed three problems on her last math test.

I heard about Sylvan Learning through a family member and online and my elder daughter went there briefly before. I had experience with Sylvan and C2 and I chose Sylvan because they were more in terms of the methods of payment. When I went to C2, it cost me more because I had to do all the amount upfront. On the other hand, Sylvan gave me a plan and in terms of payment, it was more flexible there. Moreover, I like the atmosphere and they are very professional. Sylvan is focusing on Language Arts and basic English which was where my child was having issues. Thus far, I've seen vast improvement so far in her schoolwork.

I am very happy with Sylvan Learning. They have done amazing work with my daughter. They could say one sentence and my daughter would get it right away. Plus, she gets one-on-one attention. When we went through the teacher in school, they talked too fast and were too hyper. They were dealing with too many kids and couldn't focus as Sylvan can. Kenny, our favorite tutor, is outstanding. I've seen my daughter when she's around other kids and how she acts. She's all chatty and talky, but Kenny has a lot of patience, which is a big thing.

Sylvan Learning helped Carolina with reading. I saw a huge progress with that because my kids are difficult to teach. There was another lady and she's amazing. She's been helping my other daughter with time management, study habits, and confidence. She's doing incredible work with her. I also hired her to help me organize my finances, and I talked it all out with her, and she does a beautiful job.

Sylvan Learning Center Beaumont, TX - My son goes to Sylvan since he was in grade 6. Now he is a junior. He loves to go to Sylvan. The teachers are very helpful and knowledgeable. The scheduling is very flexible. I see so much improvement in my son due to Sylvan. I am very thankful to Sylvan. I will definitely recommend it.

One of the first things that caught my information was the Groupon as I was scrolling through, looking for other things, and Sylvan Learning kept coming up in the feed, “Tutoring Sylvan, discount. You can get an evaluation with four sessions at a discounted rate.” And when my child was struggling in math, I remembered seeing the Groupon. So I went back in, and it was still available. Before I purchased it, it made me wanna do a bit of research. I was living in Castro Valley, California at the time, and I wanted to know what type of tutoring services were available in my sort of immediate vicinity. My husband went by a Kumon, and he didn't know how he felt about it. So, I went and was highly disappointed and turned off by their method. My child was too far behind according to their assessment. At that very moment, we had a specific type of need, and they cannot meet that need.

I've got two daughters enrolled in Sylvan. The learning center was local and for me to go and get down to it, it can be a lot easier. They focused on subjects my daughters really needed help with. They're working on Language and Arts and Reading. The tutor helped tremendously. They just retested on i-Ready a couple of weeks ago, and the scores are up already by 40 points in both Reading and Math. So definitely give Sylvan a shot. The atmosphere is there. The girl loved it. My daughter never complained about having to go.

The advertising of Sylvan Learning is the best and I also had a friend's kids in it. The tutor is focusing on language arts and reading comprehension with my child. According to his testing with his reading, it's improving a lot. It seems to be helping with his reading, and they're also easy to work with. We've had a great experience and I would recommend them.

My daughter has a speech problem and she was missing a lot of pieces and phonics from kindergarten to second grade and third grade and Sylvan kinda filled that gap. Teachers have noticed my daughter's improved confidence with reading. They said that she's volunteering now to read out loud. She was doing two hours every Saturday, so sometimes she would have a different tutor. She likes the variation and the tutors all seemed great. I would ask her after a session what she learned and she couldn't really verbalize or didn't want to. So, they started having her write out what she learned. That was very helpful. I already referred my niece to Sylvan. I told them what a great experience we had and my brother and sister-in-law are taking their daughter now.

Our previous tutoring option was awful, but Sylvan is wonderful. They helped a lot in math and they brought his grade up from an F to a B. He loves their tutoring. At first, however, he didn't like going there because he was embarrassed and didn't know anybody. Now, he likes the kids and the tutors. He can see that it has taken the frustration out of the learning experience because, at home, we were all arguing on how to do things. Now he just goes and does his tutoring, and he has caught up. He has been attending Sylvan for about four months now and it's the best money I've ever spent. I've told a couple of people that if kids are struggling with math, they should do Sylvan. We used Sylvan Learning for our son Noah and the tutor focused on his reading. There was more consistency with Sylvan and we saw huge results with our son's fluency and comprehension. Also, I've had monthly conferences with the education coordinator and she has been very informative and has kept me informed on the progress Noah has been making.

My sister had told me about Sylvan. I saw the reviews and felt that if there was anybody that could help my son, it would be Sylvan. I can hold them accountable for it. My son, Marcus, is 9-year old with autism and I have seen a difference within these few months that we've been attending. He's now reading sentences and it's a big improvement because he wasn't reading all these years. It's a whole team, Sylvan plus his teachers and me, working together. They track the progress and I've seen them. They communicate and it has been a lot of work for everybody.

I’m pleased with Sylvan Learning Centers. My niece sent her child there. My grandson was having trouble pronouncing his words. I’ve tried to work with him. And then when my niece told me how good they were, then I chose to bring him there. I had looked for tutors at the school and I didn’t get any help. But Sylvan helped right away. They were right on throughout everything that I asked about. And I signed up the first day that I brought him in, and then when they had the special time, I signed up for that too. And I do see a great improvement. Also, every time I have a problem with him doing his homework at school, I take him over there, and they help him, and he learned it right away. It’s been a good experience with the tutor too. I went over there and talked to her twice. I like her and she’s great. I would recommend Sylvan highly.

We used Sylvan Learning for my daughter last school year since it was local. She's using it for her SATs and they focused on Algebra 2. She said that in some areas, it was okay but we didn't really see any improvement. I think it was the Math teacher at the time. They didn't connect well.

I have a son who was struggling in Algebra and he needed help. We went with Sylvan Learning as I've seen their advertisement with the reviews on it. I've also heard good things about them. Their director has been awesome. We had issues with my son not wanting to go and she worked with me with the different time schedules since my son is busy. However, we encountered a few weeks ago with Sylvan and I was a little upset. When my son asked questions about chemistry, the teacher didn't know. So, he had to reach out to his sister who's a physician assistant. But other than that, I'm happy with Sylvan. We've only been going through them for 10 sessions and so far, so good. The interactions with the tutor and my son have been really good and my son's learning experience has been positive.

I had seen commercials and advertisements of Sylvan and the people in it always had good reviews and things to say. So I felt like it would be a place that I could check in to to help my daughter. She's focusing on Math and Reading and the tutoring has helped a lot, even with just making her feel more confident and more focused. Her test results have increased and gotten better too. Overall, it has just helped with her Math skills as a whole. My daughter also loves the staff there. She's someone who doesn't even talk but they make her feel comfortable and she talks. When I pick her up, sometimes, she wants to stay. I like Sylvan. It's a good place to try. The financial aspect is kinda hard on some parents. But it's worth it and fortunately, I was able to get like a scholarship with them.

My kids used to go to Kumon and it's pretty much like repetitive. They just gave homework and then they had to work from home. With Sylvan, it's like one-on-one and they pretty much pay attention to the kids and their abilities and how they can take the info. I like Sylvan more because they don’t do the repetitive for sure and they try to make kids understand the concept.

I wanted a place for my child to go to, like a physical place versus coming home and doing it. So, I wanted her to feel like she's in school so she understands the importance of it. Sylvan Learning does a pretty good job. My child really enjoys the experience. It's always positive. They raised her reading level up and you can tell in her grades. It's worth it if you really want to invest into your kid's educational life, if the kid really needed that much help. So, I would recommend Sylvan. They have a good system.

I would recommend Sylvan. My children are doing Math and reading with their tutor right now. They're helping them to be able to decipher word problems or reading to understand. They're teaching them different skills to help them. We were using Kumon and Sylvan is much better. Sylvan is more hands-on, has smaller groups, and is focused on areas that needs improvement. And I felt like Kumon was more repetitive which was a tool that didn’t really teach them skills. We’d seen a nice result from Sylvan.

Our child was not so good with math. Two of my co-workers told me that they had good experience with Sylvan Learning Centers so I went there. However, when the rep started looking at my son's test, the answers were right, but they were not right for the question they were asking. If they'd ask, “A dog is five years old and a cat is three years old, who’s older?” My son would say, “The cat is younger.” So, he understood the concept, he was just not answering properly. The goal was to start looking into his reading comprehension and the tutor was amazing. Even my son noticed the difference of having a tutor. When we brought my son in, he was having some C’s and even if the tutoring was three weeks, he was able to finish on AB honor roll, and even the B’s were just shy from an A.

My child is still doing the tutoring but Sylvan uses different things and they also work with her teacher in her school. It has been helping and even her teachers said that her math has been improving. Sylvan is a great tutoring program and center. I love how they break down everything as far as how she is learning so, it’s simple for them. They consider what is needed out of them and how they can tutor and cater to them. Everything's been working out and so far, the experience has been good.

In a nutshell, I had a great experience with Sylvan. I was very satisfied and I would recommend it. We were alternating tutoring. Sylvan was one place we chose, and we were also having private tutoring. I really think Sylvan is the best because it uses a repetitive method that children can grasp on to. The more they hear it, the ever they’ll do it. And they’ll perform. My daughter and the tutor focus on Reading and Math. The tutor helped because they brought a great level up. My daughter was performing below grade level, and she is currently at grade level. She also enjoys going to Sylvan. She likes her teachers. She likes them a little more at the end of the day.

My child is focused on learning Executive Functioning and Writing at Sylvan and he's much more organized. He's getting his homework done and doing better on tests. For a 13-year old boy who doesn't wanna go on a Saturday morning, he comes out in a good mood and smiling He enjoys his time there. He seems to be getting something out of it and we're seeing results. We've had a good experience with Sylvan so far. We're not done, but it's worth the time and effort to help our child gain some organization skills and confidence, and everything.

My son is doing Reading and Math at Sylvan. When I was in grade school, my mom wanted to put me in the same learning center, and we never were able to afford it. And we see a lot of the similarities between myself and my son. His was a little bit more emotional onset as well. So, we needed to get him some help. Since being with Sylvan, there is a difference in his confidence level. He is able to comprehend what he's reading and have it stick. Math is kind of a harder one, but he does have a little bit better attitude in class and at home about doing Math homework.

My daughter only needed 10 more points to be considered for half scholarship for her first-choice college. I googled, Sylvan popped up and it was the only resource in the area that seemed reputable as far as SAT tutoring. Those tutors were amazing. The way they analyze the pre-SAT scores, and the post, and they kept up with my daughter's tutoring appointments and followed up. It was well worth the money. Sylvan also told me and sent me news articles about the SAT being curved, making it really difficult for students. I'm a part-time professor and I thought I knew everything, but Sylvan educated me. That group is a great bunch.

I like Sylvan very much. I didn't like the old tutoring system we used. They were charging me one-on-one, and he was in a group setting so it really didn't help him at all. Sylvan helped the children more. The tutor started my son off with a one-on-one session, the way she said she was gonna do before putting him in a group session. My son is doing a lot better. He's reading more and he's doing better on his testing at school. He's enjoying it. He looks forward to going every day. So go to Sylvan. They're the best. Worst Sylvan Learning Centre ever. Avoid Sylvan Learning Canyon Meadows at all cost. One time I was doing a social science homework. I was asking for help. This yellow hair woman fall asleep. She was even not helping me. I forgot her name. I was doing a social science assignment and I asked a glasses man for help. He drew a smile face on my worksheet. I paid $4000.00. I wasted all these money. Completely rip off. AVOID SYLVAN LEARNING CANYON MEADOWS AT ALL COST. This PLACE IS a JOKE. The glasses man name called Corey **. Go to different tutoring centre. Try one on one tutoring that is better than Sylvan Learning Centre. Corey ** lied on his resume. He is not a engineer. This place is full of dishonest people working at the Sylvan Learning Canyon Meadows.

My brother went to Sylvan when he was younger and I had seen it in our area where we live. My child is improving there at Sylvan. The tutors focus on reading and math. Sylvan has definitely been beneficial and I would tell others to definitely give it a try.

I have tried several private tutors for my daughter starting in second grade. I found that coming to my house once or twice a week wasn't working, with the exception of one out of five tutors. I decided to take a different approach and went to Sylvan Learning. Sylvan has a program, as opposed to a tutor that comes to my house. They look at what is being done in school, and then tutors on that for one or two hours a week. For Math, Sylvan assessed my daughter’s deficiencies, so they have a way to figure out what core skills she's missing. They have a program where they target those gaps that she had. Tutors don't do that. Tutors just come in, go over the homework and they talk about it but they’re not retesting them to see if they're gaining proficiency in it.

Some people who used Sylvan for SAT had pretty good results so I went with them. My child was very good in English and was taught all of it in high school. However, she struggled a little bit with math, like Algebra 1 and 2 and the SAT goes beyond that. But she got through it all and blew it out of the water when they gave it to a lesson. I would recommend Sylvan Learning Centers. They were very polite, easy to get along with and willing to work with us.

We noticed lots of improvement with him already. Right away we noticed improvements with his confidence, his reading and a couple other things under English. He enjoys it. He’s understanding phonics. He’s understanding what is going on, not just looking at words with letters in it and making up all kinds of words that would fit in with those letters. He is also understanding how to break them down and how to use them. It makes sense to him now. Since having a tutor from Sylvan, he sits down and reads some of the books that he used to struggle with just really quickly. It’s expensive, but you see results. Give it a chance.

Our son has a tutor that comes to the house. He is an older high school student that basically helps him with his homework, but it is not a professional service. We wanted to get him a professional assessment in terms of possible learning disabilities and to really get a sense where he’s at academically and what he needs in terms of the extra support that he’s not getting one on one at school. Thus, we went with Sylvan Learning and he has been there for a few weeks. They are currently focusing on reading comprehension.

Sylvan Learning was great, decent and the price was good. The tutors were very nice, welcoming and very thorough. My child focused on Math and his tutor helped him build more confidence which was his main issue. I would recommend Sylvan to a friend. People should give them a shot.

One of my daughters was behind in math. So we signed her up in math and she went in the summer. Sylvan was way closer to our house than the other that we looked at. Then the other options were like group lessons and my girls didn’t wanna do that. My daughter has been going to Sylvan since July and she’s gotten 3's and 4's on the report card that just came out. So it’s what she needed to keep her up to date. Then my other daughter was a little lower too and we just joined her. We haven’t seen much improvement with her yet but they both enjoy going. It gets a little crowded at times but I don’t think Sylvan can do anything about that. I recommend them too. It’s good for the extra practice. I like that every 24 hours, Sylvan re-tests the girls. So I get to see where they’re at.

I'm from the United States, but I married a woman in Angola, Africa. We just moved to the United States with her daughter and her two nieces, and they are all teenagers. One only spoke about 10 words of English, while the other two were a little better but certainly not fluent. We brought them to the US on a foreign exchange student program. They are going to Pope John Paul II High School and we knew that they needed help, so they went to Sylvan Learning before the school year started for about four weeks, four or five hours a day, five days a week.

We were taking our son to a different school for reading but Sylvan was amazing and changed the trajectory of our son's ability to learn. Sylvan tested our son and found where he was weak. They started back at the basic. He's only eight years old and they found where he missed the step in learning and then recreated that or built on that foundation. He has been taking steps as he mastered each section to move up. They also did a combination of paperwork and computer time but his focus was on reading.

I had Jumana before and compared with Sylvan, they were both good but Sylvan was a bit more one-on-one and I managed to get more attention. Sylvan did great in helping me. We worked on Math and the tutor was very detailed, thoughtful and patient. There's a place outside of campus and Sylvan helps people of all grades.

My son had a good learning experience with Sylvan Learning Centers where he received ACT tutoring. His tutor was a teacher whom he had experience from high school. She came above and beyond wherein she came in during her time-off and gave up her time to accommodate my son’s schedule with athletics. Sylvan has a fantastic employee in her. She tutored my son in math and after the tutoring, his test scores in math went up. I would recommend Sylvan.

Sylvan Learning had done an outreach thing at our local library, and I participated in that as a parent. And so, when time came that we needed some tutoring, I had a good experience with them. The tutor worked with my daughter's daily or weekly work focusing on Math. My daughter gained a bit more confidence. I would definitely recommend you give Sylvan a try.

We used a different tutoring option when we lived elsewhere in the state, about three hours away. We moved to another place and Sylvan was really close to where we lived. We tried it out and we’ve been there ever since 2012. It has been amazing and Ms. Valerie has been incredible. Besides the owner, she’s the main person that we usually speak with and see. She always goes the extra mile and cares about the kids. She’s also funny and my kids respect her. They know that they can push her a little and she’ll be fun, but then she means business when there is work.

I heard positive things from other people that have used Sylvan Learning Centers. I decided to use them for my child and at this point, they're helping him in Math. So far, even his teacher at school has noticed an improvement in his confidence. He’s participating in class now. He’s figuring it out and not feeling like he can’t do it anymore. His tutor varies from time to time but I had several contacts with the directors that were kind of in charge and they’ve been very positive. I feel like they know my child and his experience with them is making a very positive difference in his life. If anyone asks me about Sylvan Learning, I would say nothing but positive things and how much they have truly helped my child. They should keep doing what they’re doing and help build these kids’ confidence because it does make a difference.

My granddaughter didn't progress in her previous tutor. But now that we’ve started using Sylvan, she has progressed. We’re focusing more on her reading. Sylvan helped build up her confidence because she was beginning to feel like she was stupid. They encouraged her and she started wanting to study. Because she had gotten so bad, she just didn’t want to do it. And then her reading has gotten better. She loves going. When I say it’s time to go to tutoring, she says okay and jumps right up. If your child is having problems, you need to call Sylvan. I’m glad that we did it, that we used their service. We’re debating about it, and I am so happy we decided to go with Sylvan. I’ve been recommending them as well to other people.

My son needed help with all the subject areas. His school was too simple and he needed to be pushed more. We used Kumon previously but then switched to Sylvan as I had done it as a child. Sylvan's tutoring has been great because he’s been able to work at the level that he was capable of, instead of trying to work at a lower level. For example, he’s in the 2nd grade and he’s currently working at a 5th-grade level. Without the tutoring from Sylvan, he wouldn’t be able to push himself as much. The center director at Sylvan is fantastic and I highly recommend this learning center.

My daughter was having some issues at school. I’ve seen how finely tuned into detail Sylvan Learning was, how much they kept up with the teachers, and how much they would email the teachers about the correct curriculum in order for them to make their actual program effective for our children individually, and these made me chose them over its competitors. They speak to the teachers, get to know what the kids are learning and where they’re struggling. They have contact with myself, the teacher, and everybody works together in order to get the child in the right place.

When I was going to college in Arizona, I had an experience with Sylvan so I knew that the methods that they used were very straightforward and easy to understand compared to how other teachers might teach. I sought them out from my own experience. I knew that we still would have a gap with the time we had with the other tutor from school so I wanted to supplement the times my oldest child would have in the gym through tutoring.

Sylvan was great and it was convenient for me and my son. I’ve had other kids that were older than my son help him, but it wasn’t consistent. He likes to go over there and he was focusing on Reading. His teacher tells me how proud he is of my son and how he likes things were working with him. My son's just taking a break now because I live so far away from where they are, but we plan to resume back in February.

Sylvan Learning is a great place to take the kids to if they wanna learn. My daughter previously had a tutoring experience with them, and now, she is focusing on Math and English with her tutor. Sylvan's team is kind and nice.

I’ve been with Sylvan Learning for four months and I still can’t get reviews back saying what Faith, my daughter, is working on or what she has mastered or what they are even learning. Sometimes, there are about three kids to one teacher or two kids to one teacher and my daughter gets distracted really quickly. I still wanted the one-on-one with my daughter and it worked during the times that I got them for my daughter.

I’m satisfied with my experience with Sylvan. Their director has been friendly and informative. He also has kept in contact. My son loves Ms. Judy as his tutor. She's focusing on listening and reading with my son. They have been able to help based off of his school assessment and he had more improvement than he had before.

My son is autistic and I heard some reviews that were positive about Sylvan system. Jessica is his tutor and she is working with him on Spelling, Math, and Reading Comprehension. I went over the work and we took an approach. I know that the school teacher in Sylvan had been communicating back and forth trying to be able to work together for common good for my son, so it’s been really nice, too. Jessica has been really easy to work with and she seems to take care of my son, so that’s good. My son has been more confident since we went with Sylvan.

I would highly recommend Sylvan Learning. While we haven’t completed the course, it has already made a huge difference in my son's attitude at school, knowing that he’s learning how to read. We’re still involved and it’s repetitive, testing after he’s completed a concept to ensure that he retains what he learned from the previous day. Sylvan has more matured teachers in age who have more of that phonics and experience. And they actually taught kids how to read in school.

My child has been maybe about a month and a half with Sylvan. She enjoys it. She loves going every day and she looks forward to it. She only missed one day ‘cause she was sick. She also loves her tutors. She’s excited when she gets there and when she leaves and she tells me what she has learned. It’s a wonderful experience for her. I will highly recommend Sylvan. I went with them because of their reputation and I'm highly satisfied. I see my daughter’s grades improving. The tutor focused on my child's reading and math. My daughter was making Ds in Math, and she made her first B in a month and a half. To see her excitement on her face that she was finally getting it is priceless.

My son wasn't getting challenged in public school so we switched him to doing private school. We got Sylvan to tutor him on Reading and Math. They are helping him in reading a paragraph and picking out the main details. It has made a world of difference for my son. It's been a good experience and I'd recommend Sylvan.
