Sylvan's staff there at the Arlington Mansfield location, Danny, was superior to anyone that we spoke with. That location is doing a great job. We're thrilled. There's a lot of communication. My granddaughter loves Sylvan. She is so much more confident. I'm sure her grades are going to be much better this coming school year.

My son is responding to Sylvan very well. He used to cry every time we would mention writing or reading. But he got in the car the other day and said, “How long do I have to do this? I'm rocking it.” I was impressed with that. However, although we can look his progress up on Sylvan's website, a little more personal interaction about what he's doing and how he's doing would be helpful to me.

My mother-in-law uses Sylvan for my nephew. I also checked Google and the reviews, and I visited the center and liked the environment. I heard good things about the center, so I decided to put my son there and, really, it's helping him a lot. He has learned his five words and he needs to learn more, but he just graduated from kinder. The tutor has practiced a lot with him about the sounds on the letters, and right now, all the letters are put together, so he can start reading more. I really trust the tutor. Sometimes I talk with her and she tells me what she's doing. I also have a meeting with the director every month to discuss the progress for my son, and I like it. I'm very happy with everything.

Sylvan is helping my daughter with reading comprehension and it has been great. They're very responsive, and they target my daughter's plan to what her needs are. They focus one on one with her, and it's really helped her. She has overall improved with letter recognition and reading. The students also get points or tokens and if they earn enough, they can buy something from the prize. My daughter loves it.

Sylvan was an absolutely great experience for my daughter. We've already completed the tutoring and she was able to get up at least a grade and a half ahead of where she was. If your child needs some assistance with school, it's absolutely a great resource. They do a great job and I would highly recommend them.

Sylvan said my son is good. But we are not happy about the progress. We didn’t see a big progress. We led them to focus on reading and writing. But I've never seen that he's writing in the class. Everything is in the computer, like rhymes. It said he’s reading, but I have never seen that in the writing. We are planning to change. Because we are paying a lot of money, but my son is not that happy. He said he's not learning that much. Sylvan doesn’t focus into his weaknesses. I thought they would do an assessment and attention based on the results. Apparently, they don't do that. He's working with me and his dad. Plus, his class teacher is helping him a lot. We already paid $3,000, up close to $50 per hour. But we have still more hours.

My daughter went with Sylvan for reading comprehension and math, and it was a good experience. She needed help with geometry. They stayed focused on the different levels of algebra to get to geometry. At one time, they had people who weren't focused on it so I talked to the acting lead people, and they said that they would make sure only people that would address her would be those who knew geometry. This one person didn't know geometry. Overall, Sylvan is good. They will help your child improve in whatever subject they need to be improved in.

My son’s experience at Sylvan was phenomenal. His teacher was caring, nurturing, and never complained once. My son was fifth grade, and he was there for Math. We stopped going mainly for we were starting Brain Balance. Easily done whenever I had to cancel, or move. Sylvan was accommodating of the times. I would recommend them to anybody.

I knew that Sylvan would be my best option. Going with them was the best decision that I could have made. They helped Marion in every area that he needed help in. His Math, Reading, everything has been a tremendous jump. If I had to do it all over again, I will still choose Sylvan. Sylvan is a program that I refer a lot of people to who went through the same type of things I did within the difference in our kids with their whole learning. For them losing so much of their information that they have learned to a little time that haven't been at school. If I can rate Sylvan, I'm gonna rate them with 1,000. They're wonderful.

They are always available if I have to do any changes to the schedule or anything that I need. My daughter has been taking math and she has improved a lot. The teacher from her school told me that she's doing better and she was able to pass the class as well. The tutor is always on time sending me how my daughter's doing and the result and always like sending me emails. If anybody asked me, I will recommend the service.

We’re definitely impressed with Sylvan Learning. Both of my kids have been in it. With my son, he was spot on within a year where he needed to be for his grade level. As far as my daughter, the progress is starting to show. They're working on things more and more with her. Sylvan is about the best. They individually worked with the child either by individual tutoring or group tutoring. So, whatever they’re doing, they slowly get them up to where they need to be.

We homeschool because we travel across the country for my husband's job. I noticed that my daughter was struggling with flipping letters when she was reading so I thought maybe she was dyslexic and I didn't know where to start. She did great at Sylvan. She just finished her English program and we just put her in the math program for the summer. She loves her language arts. She finished quickly in school after she started. Before, she was really struggling through it. That was her worst subject. Now it’s the first subject she completed for the school year. It was a month after we started Sylvan she had completed language arts.
The very first tutor my daughter had, she adored him. But then he ended up leaving. I was so afraid because the next tutor she had, she didn't really mesh with. Sylvan had seen that so she got a new tutor whom she really liked and then things changed. We have really enjoyed Sylvan. I wish I could put my son in, but it's just a little expensive.
They’re really easy with working with what we need. They've been really kind with her adjusting to being back around people and being pulled out. We didn't really do a lot of hanging out with people because we move all the time so it's hard to adjust to a schedule and everyone's just super nice. She always comes out of there with a smile on her face.

I'm super satisfied with Sylvan. I also attended there as a little girl over 20 years ago. Since my son had help in his reading comprehension, he got more confident when it comes to his English packet homework. He hasn't had to ask for as much help on those. Also, normally, it's three to four students per tutor. But in that, he's still getting one-on-one attention, which I really like ‘cause he doesn't get that at school. The school that he’s in currently doesn't do any tailoring to the personal students’ needs. I like that Sylvan personalizes a plan for them. That is something that's beneficial to the students.

My son is doing great with Sylvan. He likes it and it's helping him. I'm happy with it so far. There's another learning center in the area, and I compared the two. I liked the model a little bit better with Sylvan in terms of the assessments that they do, the group work and the use of iPads. They're working with the kids all the time which is a big help. They do a reward system too and my son is reward driven. He loves the surprises and the points.
The director is amazing. She always communicates with us and seems to tailor the program to my son so that's good. They try to incorporate things that he likes. Sylvan does a really good job making sure that the kids feel like they're where they need to be. At first, it might seem like something that's not feasible. But when you look into private tutors, it kind of evens out.

My son has been off school for two years because of the COVID and he has been not been performing well at school. I'm divorced and his dad let our son go to school in full time only just March so my son missed many things already. The school planned to have my son repeat 4th grade and I'm okay with it. But my son's confidence was butchered. We've been with Kumon for four years and he hates it so much. It is not for everybody. Every time we went there, they also did the assessment. My son is quite playful and they would say that his level is one notch down. So, they keep on letting my son go back to for example, 2nd grade. They let my son do the 1st grade.
I don't know how the assessment was done at Sylvan but I'm happy that majority of my son’s skills level are at least still in the 4th grade. Though the percentile is low, he's in the right grade. One thing also that my son doesn't like about Kumon is the homework. You can't bring homework during school days because he would have five of them and he has no time with those. So he struggled. But so far, he’s had 11 sessions with Sylvan and he is always looking forward going there every Monday, Tuesday and every other Sunday. He likes Sylvan very much. I told my couple of friends about my son’s situation and they are happy about it. I told them about Sylvan and I forward them the website so they can look into it or pass it on to their family or other friends as well.

But it would nice if my daughter could have the same teacher every time because kids this age like consistency.

There was some mix-ups. One of my children is lacking in reading and was way behind. For her two hours, an hour was supposed to be math and the other hour was supposed to be reading. They don't have enough staff, so my child ended up having to only start with math her first week. That was very disappointing. But I reached out and the director of that learning center has been extremely proactive in communicating. Anytime I send an email, I always get an email back rather quickly.

Sylvan has a lot more resources available with regards to staff that would be more hands-on. My son is enjoying Sylvan and hasn't given any pushback on not wanting to go. He's pretty far behind with how things have been going in school but he's showing some improvement. Whenever I bring him or pick him up, they're always talking to me about things that they've seen or things that they've done. They’ve been calling us to update us on progress, or ask us if there's anything else that they should know, like if there's something that the school has mentioned to us to look out for or watch for. It’s been good experience so far.

Our daughter is doing math and language arts. She's doing math tutoring because they recommended it's not a good idea to do their math program at the same time when you're in class. She's also doing the reading program to help get up to where we need to be. She comes out, most of the time, in a better mood than when she went in. She has energy and you can tell it's a good experience for her.
The program is helping. It's not as drastic with her like in school. But I also know, at least for her, she's got to learn to apply herself when it comes to school. She's definitely making progress and when I would get the Sylvan dashboard thing, she has definitely accomplished a lot. The little notices cover what the tutors did. Beyond that, I have a check-in with the director. She was like, “Hey, I'm touching base. Just letting you know I'm really happy with how your daughter is doing." Sylvan is pretty easy. I can email whenever something comes up and they're pretty responsive and super helpful with all that.

My son started off with a 23% in language arts. He's in kindergarten. Come to find out, he didn't know any of his sounds and that was affecting him learning how to read, blend words, how to code. They had to go all the way back to his Voluntary Pre-K and work with him with sounds before they could even start him to learn his sight words.
It’s pricey but it's definitely worth every dime. I just wish I would’ve known last year. I could have put him in Sylvan before he started kindergarten. Hopefully, he can do summer school for language arts, and I continue to let him go there and he can catch up. He loves going and my son is very shy. The only time that I have a problem with him going is on Saturdays because he feels it's not fair that he has to go and do schoolwork on the weekend. He also says all the time, he hates language arts in school. But Sylvan makes it where it's interesting for him. He likes to learn when he's there.
Now, he's up to a D+. Considering he started Sylvan in the middle of the school year, that's great progress. He's making S-minuses and he even made one S-plus. He's learning how to read. He knows some of his sight words. It's a lot better. I know I couldn't have been able to do it without Sylvan. I’m very appreciative of everyone there. They’re great.

Sylvan has been good. Like most things, my kid never likes going to do anything if it's something that takes him away from what he wants to do. But whenever we pick him up, he seems to have had a good experience with it because he never comes back home upset. My son particularly likes his math tutor, and the administrative staff has been helpful as well.
They're focusing on both reading and math for my son, and he's still showing improvement on his math skills. He's not quite to the math grade level that we were aiming for when we started, but he is on his way that he should hit that before the end of the tutoring year and the school year. For the reading portion, we've almost hit the goal that we set for him when we got started back at the beginning of February. Sylvan can be a little pricey, especially since we have the four hours per week plan, one of the more expensive plans, for our son. However, I would tell friends if they can afford it or even half the hours that are recommended, to absolutely go ahead, especially if the child is struggling in reading or math.

The school is trying to get the kids ready for the STAAR test. The teachers and staff designated the month of April, and they offered Saturday school from 9:00am to 12:00pm for students that had challenges. My scholar, Alicia, fell into that category, and that schedule interfered with her tutoring with Sylvan because we only go in and we're there for an hour. I had to contact her Sylvan instructor. I nor her Sylvan instructor wanted her to miss out on the opportunity.
I didn't want Alicia to lose her seat, but I really wanted her to take advantage of the tutoring as well because I don't want her to be retained. If she doesn't do well on that STAAR test, I don't know if we're gonna make it to the fourth grade. It wouldn't be a big thing for me, considering COVID and all that she missed the last year and a half, but it will be devastating for her. So, we've been doing everything that we can to bring her up to speed.
It's been a seamless process while dealing with Sylvan. I've interacted with the leader and the instructor there from time to time and they're always pleasant. It has been an overall good experience for me. The communication is always open, and I love the idea that we're communicating with one another. They're also patient with Alicia. She's eight, she's in third grade and we're focusing on reading. Kids sometimes thrive in an environment when they're not familiar with the individual. Versus me trying to teach Alicia at home and me taking her so that she can sit with a third party, the third-party interaction has helped out a great deal. Sylvan has helped her to be a lot more confident. She takes her time and sounds the word out.

We're doing both reading and math help but we paused reading for a little bit because math was taking up so much time. We needed to incorporate some homework help and it's helping. He got a report card last week and there were lots of improvements. There have been days when he doesn't want to go but once we get in there and he comes out, he feels so much better.
Also, Sylvan has communicated with his teacher, which I think is wonderful, because there are some times when I don't really know what he needs exactly. It was really nice that they would be willing to reach out. They've also been very flexible. We've had a couple of vacations and we've been able to change days. It's really been a great experience. They make it fun for her and bring it down to the level where she's at, versus at school, they wanted to put her at her grade level where she's not to that yet so she gets frustrated. A lot of places are now going virtual and doing the tutoring over webinars, and my daughter does not do good or thrive on that part of it. So, having that hands-on at Sylvan and having someone there while she's working on new things were definitely more of what she needed. My sister had her son in Sylvan and I saw a really nice improvement in my nephew. The location is really close to my house too so it was easy. My daughter needed help, so I decided to have her do Sylvan also. She did reading. She's in kindergarten so her focus was letters and sounds. She definitely knows her letters now and her sounds. I saw an improvement, 100%.
I like the incentive learning. Being only five, my daughter didn't understand it at first because they get the points and they get to pick from the wall. They want to pick immediately and she didn't understand the whole save, save, save. She caught on eventually. If she wants one of the good things to get, she had to save her points. They have it on display so they can see and they have something to work towards for. Overall, it's been all positive Sylvan. It's not the cheapest option but they have the financing options for it.

We're focusing on reading and comprehension at Sylvan, and the enrollment was pretty straightforward. We met with a director there, and he explained the whole process and suggested what Elliott might need based on an assessment that he took. We've been going four days a week since October. He seems to be doing really good. His teacher has made comments that his reading and writing have improved. Overall, we're very happy with it. I would suggest others to sign their kids up with Sylvan. They seem very organized, and they care about the kids and my son. He enjoys going. To me, that says a lot that he doesn't dread going there. He's excited and happy when he goes there. It's a great program.

Since going with Sylvan, my child seems to have more confidence now about doing math and his writing, and his teacher says that she's noticing a change. I'm very pleased with Sylvan. Their reps are very friendly, warm and welcoming. As far as the learning experience, they present it through the iPad at one point. Then they have a table group of three kids, and while the tutor's doing some individualized stuff with one of the kids, the other kids are doing some practice on the iPad. Then, when they finish that, the other kid goes to the iPad, so they kind of do like an individualized kind of thing.

My granddaughter is enjoying Sylvan. I’m hoping that it would help my granddaughter. We’re trying to get her to learn to read. She's in the first-grade and her problem is that she's never been to any school because of that Coronavirus. My wife and I were afraid to send her to school. She's been in online school since kindergarten and she’s never been in daycare. So, we just did the best we could with her. When we figured out that she was getting behind, we chose Sylvan Learning Centers. They gave her a placement test. As far as her last school is going, she's doing fine but she's supposed to go into second grade. We just want to prepare her for the second grade. Hopefully, she can keep going.
Usually, my granddaughter goes in the back and we sit there and wait. I thought that it was going to be one-on-one, but there are about four kids they put at a table together. It’s a small setup. We don't really know what goes on behind the door. So, it would be nice if they had a camera back there and we could see the interaction. We don't have to hear it if we can just see it.

When I was researching different facilities, Sylvan was the only one on the website that said that they would help with testing skills. Since going there, my son has been maintaining his grades and he's been having a good relationship with the folks at Sylvan. His schedule has been kind of crazy with his activities and they've been very accommodating to help us reschedule when we need to. One gentleman that he seems to meet with the most always let me know that he believes that my son is doing well. Sylvan has been wonderful. My first two children struggled with the ACT despite being very good students. I proactively, for my third child, got ahead of the student-issued ACT and enrolled him. What sold me was the ability to have one-on-one guidance for him. Sylvan offered an upfront, free test. They'd score it then they'd give us recommendations specific to my son. That was what I needed. He's had enough remote learning and didn't have to sit in his room on a computer anymore.
The woman who owns the franchise met with us and shared with us the results. She also shared with us the tools that he can use on his own, and the oversight that she can utilize to make sure he's in fact doing what he needs to do. Seeing the tools and that he's got everything for himself to make himself set up for success was nice for the owner to take the time and show us. My son comes twice a week, Tuesdays and Thursdays. He had his school ACT on a Tuesday and I had planned on having him come for his Tuesday night session. She called and said, “Let's give him a break. He’s had enough of the ACTs. I want him to know that I wish him all the best today.” That’s classy.
This most recent test is not scored yet but we took the baseline test before we even signed up. Then we did another test at Sylvan prior to the school-issued test and my son went up several points. His score went up substantially in reading. It was six points but it raised his overall score by two. That is awesome to be able to move two points overall. His confidence has improved and he's in a much better place because of their services. For a kid who'd much rather do anything other than study for the ACT, this has not been miserable. He's walked out of that building several times saying, “I learned something.” His experience is not dreadful. He realizes this is going to help him, not only for the ACT, but for college as well. Thank you to Sylvan for what they've done to my child.

He’s in kindergarten so we wanted him to learn how to read but they didn't have the resources at the center to do reading. We thought a tutor would be a good option.
The enrollment with Sylvan was really easy. We went in and they did a computer-based skills assessment. They also do a one-on-one assessment, which was really great. My son's interpersonal relations are not awesome so the computer really helped him that way. It's very accurate. He's been doing really well because he's been learning one new skill every time he's been there. Sylvan is really accommodating because I asked if he could have one teacher and not move around a lot and if they could give me some notice if he was gonna go to someone else. They've been really good about that. This has been a big learning curve for me and there are things that I really had to learn to manage my son. So when they feel that they've got a better understanding of it, they've gained some confidence there. It seems to have helped, not just with the ability for the functions and equations to be able to do them. But on the testing part, it's less frustrating. My child goes multiple days during the week to Sylvan. We have different tutors and for the most part, they've been pretty good. But my child is in high school and some of the curriculum that Sylvan offers are at the lower grade levels. They don't offer some help directly with some of the curricula that they're actually learning. So it's more of the elementary or junior high type stuff that they can focus on. But the biggest thing for me is that Sylvan makes it fun enough to where my son actually likes to go there. The teachers are nice. He likes their little stops at the end of the night to keep them engaged. He likes that they go through all the stuff in order so it builds upon itself so he gains confidence.
My son has made a bit of progress, because at the parent teacher conference, they said he jumped up a grade level in reading and a half a grade level in writing. I like the fact that he's making progress. It's easier to see the progress when we do the monthly meetings because I get to see where he's at and from where he was, which is nice. Also, I get stuff done while he's there. I drop him off and I can go get some stuff done and come back.

It's very convenient for me because Sylvan is a three-minute drive from my house. My son had just started second grade and he was in a second language program. He was learning Spanish, but he wasn't learning the phonics of English. So, that took him from almost a kindergarten, if not a very early first grade level, to where he needed to be. He learned the basics of what he needed to get caught up with. Parents need to be involved in making sure that there's open communication with the school. That way, it's not just one goal, that everybody's on the same track of where that needs to be. Also, be prepared for the price. It's expensive. But Sylvan is very effective.

The needs were there for my daughter. I looked at it from the perspective of assisting my daughter better her grades, especially after a year struggling, working off of a computer. She likes Sylvan. She seems more confident with her work. So, every time we ask her how she feels, she's happy to go. She's not one of those students who hate Mondays, Wednesdays or Saturdays, because those are the days that she goes. She understands that this is for her, and this is for her to get better in learning. She knew that she lacked in organization, memory, understanding, and confidence before we did all this. She was happy with it. We do an assessment with her. Sylvan goes over how she has done with testing and how she is improving. Or if she is not improving, Sylvan would let us know that as well. They would regroup and go back to the beginning to make sure that she understands the material that has been introduced to her.
Any parent who is looking at this program should be more about the learning for the child, going forward. It is steep as far as the prices, but not everybody is going to be able to afford this type of program. She's still got a few years to go with her education and I want to make sure that we're giving her all the tools possible to be successful.

They focused primarily on math, science, and a little bit of English with my son. He took the ACT and he improved -- not from his baseline of when he first started but it was good. My son applied himself rather than blowing it off. Also, everybody was prepared and gave him the attention that he needed.

I used Varsity Tutors before and I prepaid there. When my granddaughter took the class, they wouldn't refund me any of the money, even though I could have chosen to pay less when I signed up. But I thought it was gonna be a continuing thing. One of my granddaughter's A's dropped to a B, and it was stressing her out. She needed help and she didn't get it from them, so she ended up getting a B in the class, and she wasn't very happy with that. I didn't deal with them anymore.
Sylvan is more of an in-person. It's not online. My granddaughters drive up there. They're both A students and they were trying to get in the best college they could and wanted to know if the SAT training would help. I sent an email to Sylvan and they were quick to respond. I told them that I wanna pay for it and set up a payment thing and I’ll leave it up to my grandkids to set up their times. The lady called them directly and set it all up, so it was minimal interaction for me, which is what I wanted. The instructor picked out weak points in the SAT from the initial SAT test, and he's focusing on those. They’re really happy with it so far.
Another thing is Varsity Tutors just goes out and finds people that they could be college students, retired teachers, or anybody that wants to do tutoring. Whereas the people at Sylvan hire only certified teachers and better quality, not just anybody that decides to hang up a tutoring shingle. Overall, I'm completely satisfied. If somebody wanted to sign their kid up for SAT training or any kind of tutor, I would send them to Sylvan and not even consider Varsity Tutors.

My daughter has drastically improved. Her confidence has soared and she looks forward to attending Sylvan. I see a difference in reading and a drastic one in Math. Sylvan's staff is great. They're patient. Also I like the quiet atmosphere. That way, it helps their students remain focused. They're also flexible regarding hours of operation. We've had a great experience. I would recommend Sylvan hands down.

My son is doing the reading, but he’s getting homework stuff as well. He’s getting better with his reading fluency and has a better comprehension. Also, he has a better appreciation for help with his education in meaning that he doesn't take it for granted. He understands once he put in the work, his results are showing by his report card. He’s on the AVR row and he comes from a school where they didn’t even do great. So, starting out, Sylvan helps him to maintain structure and to work more independently. So, I’m loving it. Sometimes school can be stressful and kids wanna give up. But Sylvan would help them to see the importance of staying on top and maintaining that success.

The school was able to help me. My child does really well and he's very comfortable there. He enjoys going. But wish that some of the instructors would be a little bit more strict about keeping the chairs on all four legs because I am always commenting about how my son and other students have the chair on one leg where they're playing around. Not only do I feel that it's a safety issue, but I feel like they're not paying attention like they should. So, I yell at my son because I'm one of the few parents that stay at Sylvan.

My child has attention-deficit so he’s behind on Reading and Math. We’ve been with Sylvan a little over a month and when I met with their director, she said that he moved almost a level off on Reading. So, I hope that Sylvan helped him with it. We try to read as much as we can at home and he’s more interested in books now since he is getting the concept of reading. Hopefully, we're gonna go this direction from now on and we're gonna probably try to keep on for a year or so and see the difference. If it's going to help us, we'll keep on working with him.

UPDATED 04/03/2022: I paid tutoring classes in advance for my daughter, whom at the time was in 7th grade all the way to 12 grade. She attended sylvan from November 2020 to May 2021. After that I could not make appointments anymore because they would never return my call. Meanwhile, at the time she was assisting the center I saw no improvement. Had a couple of meetings to discuss my daughter progress because she was falling even more behind while going to sylvan. Summer came and she did not go to the center not even one class. returning to class in August 2021 tried to schedule and was never able to.
At this point I requested a refund for the money I paid in advance and was denied and the owner William hung up on me twice. Now I go to the bank and I dispute the charges and the center presented a forged statement saying my daughter attended classes she never did. I am reporting this center and his owner for stealing my money and denied me a refund. invoices states my daughter attended the center from May 2021 to October 2021 and she never not even once attended during that time frame.
ORIGINAL REVIEW: After failing in education in Kissimmee I tried to transfer my daughter to Ocoee and that was a nightmare. Never answered the phone, leaving vm was worthless because they never returned calls. When I was finally able to get in touch with the director of the center William (2 months later) He was the most unprofessional and rude person EVER. After requesting to cancel the program because it did not work for my daughter and 2 months already passed and I was not able to communicate with the center, He was so rude and said NO REFUNDS and hung up on me, called back to request to speak to a supervisor and William denied this info and hung up on me again! Beware of this center and the quality of education, my daughter was hand out an iPad and left on her own, that’s not what I paid 6k for. Never recommending this place to anyone.

The tutoring sessions with Sylvan have been amazing because in nine weeks, my child’s grade went up. He was doing bad in math and now, it’s a total turnaround. He’s doing good in Math and able to keep up with his Zearn. He doesn't need us to stand over him the whole time. So many kids don't want to go to tutoring but he loves to go and wants to make sure that he's not gonna miss it. He wants to be there and he’s excited. So, we're ecstatic. We try to tell many people about Sylvan. The prices are good and they can’t go wrong with it. They won’t be disappointed if their child is struggling with reading, math and those type of things. I never had that type of experience as far as with tutoring. The teachers are patient and the staff greets you at the door. They're always smiling, happy and always welcome my child. I love it. We're so satisfied and so happy that we decided on Sylvan.

My child loves Sylvan. It’s been well for her. She’s good in school and going for Math specifically, but mostly, she’s learning or relearning some of the skills that she was coming short on. It’s boosting her confidence and making it so much better for her. Right now, they're going through some first-grade skills that she missed out on due to COVID. But she's still struggling on her current math test. So, they are trying to incorporate the skills that they missed but also incorporate some of what they're doing right now as opposed to waiting till later.
My daughter came home with her math test the other night and she made a D on it. And I said that it’s okay, she’s still getting into it and that'll get better. But it's hard because I don't want her to end up not passing second-grade math. But as long as she has all those skills before it's time to enter third grade, that'll be okay. Sylvan is amazing and I recommend it.

I scheduled an initial visit at the Sylvan center and had a really good experience. My child just started and has only done a few sessions. We haven't had any conferences yet with them to see how she's progressing. But it is helping. She seems to enjoy it. They have a fun atmosphere. They can earn prizes for each session, which she likes. So she likes going. We like that it's one-on-one tutoring as opposed to some other programs we researched that were more group-focused. We also like that it's integrated with her school, so they share information with her teacher and vice versa to make sure that we're all on the same page. I would recommend them.
