My son has been struggling with reading and he wasn't comprehending at first. He hasn’t been going to Sylvan that long but I have noticed he's trying a lot more. His confidence is built up where he's excited about trying to read and find out the words. I get updates on the regular and everyday, my son comes home and tells me how his session went. I would get a little slip of what he and his tutor went over throughout the evening and what subjects they focused on for the day. Sylvan is a great start for your child to improve.

A friend of mine told me about Sylvan Learning. She had his son for a few years with them and he told me how amazing was that for him and how he improved in school. I made the appointment and when I met Christina, I felt so comfortable and enrolled my kids right away. We are Spanish speakers and my kids are trying to learn more English to understand and learn the way to solve math problems here in the US. We're heading to 3 months and they've improved so much. They're doing so well. On Mondays they go there for 3 hours and for the rest of the week, they go there for 2 hours only. They are so happy to go there because the teachers show them how to do the things in a very clear way. They love their teachers. They are very excited to improve at this speed. They hope to be able to go to 7th and 8th grade in a better way and feel more comfortable. Sylvan has a great method. It’s so cool the way they do the things and evaluate. Every 15 days, they update me how the kids are doing. I'm very happy.

My children have moved through the online learning. They've been able to more than keep up and reach beyond where their classmates are at, especially through COVID and the lack of education that they were getting. It was tough but they didn’t suffer at all because they’ve had Sylvan this whole time, especially in Math, because that's a building block piece. So, they've done well. We did it through the end of the school year last year and then we took the summer off. Our tutor emailed us a couple times. I changed my address and they wanted to send a Christmas card. I said that we could do Sylvan again so we got back to tutoring for the spring. We're very happy. I've referred a couple of friends and I take the car load every Monday and Wednesday of my friends’ kids.

We're doing Sylvan for Math for my daughter who's 17. We really matched well. She really likes her Sylvan Learning tutor. So, it was a really good bet. She felt comfortable with her right away. She was able to express her questions easily. The biggest part is she felt like she was really understanding and nice, and that there was a lot of follow up questions by the tutor to figure out why she wouldn't understand something.

Sylvan's price is the same as where I'm just paying upfront. But, the nice thing about it is that I have a specific program that is guaranteed and a schedule. Plus, it's not a fly-by-night organization. I just drop my child off and she enjoys it. It helps and I've been very pleased. Also, the people from Sylvan whom I meet are really nice. My child really likes them.

Give Sylvan a chat and see what they can do for your kid because they've been a great help for us. The cost of their service is better than most of the other providers that I've looked at. Our daughter has gained confidence in asking questions about different math problems. However, I haven't got a ton of feedback from the tutor until recently when I asked. So it's not like I'm really getting reports on how the tutoring is going. They have the portal, but it is not really updated as far as how she's progressing through the program.

I heard a lot of good things about Sylvan. I also teach and I heard other people that had used it and were pleased. My child's doing Math. His grades went up because he had help with the homework. Then he got better grades as a result of that. Plus, he understood what he was doing more because he had the extra explanation on stuff if he didn't understand something. He loves the experience. He felt the connection with his tutor. He really liked him, which made him much more positive about it and wanna do better and listen to him. In fact, he asked himself if he could continue when the sessions had ended. For him, it was a big deal.

I talked to Savannah from Sylvan and she knows what she's doing there with the kids. I feel really comfortable with her and I feel free to call and see how my son is doing and she will keep a really good record. My son is in second grade and he's really behind in letters, sounds, and reading. Since going there, I've noticed that if we're driving, he sees letters and he would say, "Oh, mommy, this is what I learned. This is the sound here and there." Sylvan is really making a difference in his education. I'm really pleased and happy that I decided to take him there.

A lady at work told me how well Sylvan helped her teenage granddaughter get organized and learn how to study. Sylvan is now helping my son in Writing. The tutors were wonderful. My son enjoys learning with Sylvan. It's fun learning.

Sylvan is one that we've heard about where we live as an option. I heard from a few other families and coworkers I work with that they enjoyed Sylvan as well. Although we don’t have a ton of options at Eau Claire, we heard good things about them, so we wanted to give it a try. The Eau Claire office that we go to has been fantastic. We’ve been super happy. I work primarily with Silvia to set everything up and she's been fantastic and very understanding. She's super easy to work with, listens, and seems to care where my child's struggling.

When I spoke with the Sylvan rep, he was really thorough and he explained the process and what they do. They were really reassuring to my son because he was nervous. He did pretty well in the exam and we set up a plan for him. The teachers are nice and they get the kids. It's a good atmosphere that's motivating for them. They're very accommodating. I've seen a change in my son with his reading and in his class. I asked him if he feels like it's been easier for him since he has been going to Sylvan and he said "definitely". Go ahead with Sylvan tutoring. It's worth every penny.

Sylvan is focusing on reading and language arts. They also recommend some math tutoring but said that reading should be my biggest focus. My daughter has only been going for a little while but she's more willing to actually try and she enjoys going there. She reads more now and she's a little more willing to read. She's enjoying going there. The reason we homeschool is because of experiences with our public school system. So, with my daughter, I was worried about putting her under tutoring because she was not good with teachers. So, the fact that she loves everybody over at Sylvan all and she comes home happy tells me that they're all good people. Sylvan costs money but if you finance it, it's worth it because, in the long run, it'll help your kids. If they enjoy learning in the long run, that's even better.

The staff are very friendly and understanding, and I like that about them. We just started and they’re working on the fundamentals and building my child up. He's enjoying it, but he also said that he played a lot of games on the computer. If that is true, I would like for it to be more hands-on like the other place he was going to.

As far as it compares, Sylvan is by far way more advanced and way more in tune with what the children need in where they are and to be able to teach them to where they are and continue to give them the confidence and the abilities and skills to be the best that they can be and be comfortable in their education where it is at the time. They were absolutely fabulous with us. They walked us through the whole process. They explained everything and they waited for all of the hoops that had to be jumped through in order to have her start.

My daughter is going to Sylvan for reading. She is attending the one in Columbus, Georgia. They're very informative. So, I feel good with sending her as she seems to be happy to go. Sylvan has met all of my expectations so far, the demeanor of the facility, the customer service at the place, and the cleanliness. My daughter has been at school and I see some improvements. As she continues to go and we continue to work with her, she'll be better.

Sylvan mainly went back to the basics because when they tested my son about vowels and he didn't know all his vowels. My son's level of the motivation to learn has excelled and they never make him feel like he's doing bad even if he's motivated, 'cause they're always motivating. Sylvan Learning is worth it.

My son was failing in school as far as math goes. His school recommended something else because he's autistic also. But I called the professionals at Sylvan and they said they could bring those math grades up. After they tested him, we sat down and had a conference. The lady was wonderful with her insight and her recommendations. My son looks forward to going there every time he's scheduled to go. Anything I want, I can ask and they'll be happy to tell me. They're doing their jobs. They crack the whip, though, and they don't like to wait. Once I talked to my son's teacher, they were even delighted that I took my son there. I'll recommend anybody with a child to go to Sylvan. They can work with anybody, and not anybody can do that.

My son loves the classes at Sylvan and he looks forward to it. That's one less thing to worry about because I just drop him off and then he's happy. The subject areas he is focused on are Math and Reading. He has just started less than a month ago and it's still a work in progress. But he's getting better and he's reading faster. We also got the schedule that I wanted. Sylvan helped my daughter and my son and I would recommend Sylvan to anybody who's struggling and needs a little boost.

Sylvan has been so much more helpful for math purposes because of the fact that the kids are in an environment where there are incentives. So the kids really want to do better and get those rewards. I have a child that's in fourth grade and then one that's in seventh grade. Sylvan has been super helpful for my daughter in seventh grade because she has been put into the harder math group and she's been stressing out. She thinks that if she can bring her harder math there, and it's another perspective and another strategy that they use, that's helpful for her getting it locked in. She's so used to getting it really quick, with just regular math, but when you switch over to algebraic math, she's having a little bit more of a transition struggle. The teachers at school require them to have the algebraic strategy written out. But the tactics that the Sylvan tutor has shown her have been helpful to figure it out.

My child is doing Reading and he just started Math three weeks ago. He's in the fourth grade. Last school year, he was falling behind and he's reading slowly. And then, it just got worse. And the teacher said that he wasn't reading at the fourth grade level, so I got nervous. So, I said, "Okay, so let me just figure some things out and see about getting some extra help." He has been doing tutoring with Sylvan for two days a week for reading and it has helped a lot. His reading has improved. He's getting higher grades than he got before.

My daughter was using reading and she went up about 10-grade points. Her grade went from a 65 to a 75. Everything worked well with the way they were educated and from what I saw on my daughter's actual performance, it was good. Sylvan is a very helpful program for your kids and if they're struggling, they get a minute.

I've seen improvement with my granddaughter's reading. Before I told the teachers that she was being tutored, they had noticed that she's doing very well and she's advanced. Her test scores have spiked up tremendously.

This is the first time my son has ever done tutoring with anybody and he has gone to Sylvan for 14 sessions. Everything has been good. He is focusing on reading but there is also some Math included. His writing is a little better and he is able to express himself way more than just a sentence. He's able to write a full paragraph, where he feels confident. His understanding of the main idea of the readings and the whole character-wise has also improved. I'm enjoying getting the weekly feedback from Sarah through emails or messages. These are private reports of what is going on. Everything is great with Sylvan so far.

Sylvan focuses on Math for my child and they said he has improved. He has a better attitude towards Math and hopefully, he will be progressing a lot more than what they're teaching at school currently because with the virtual learning and the whole pandemic situation, he was behind in Math. The experience with Sylvan was never disappointing.

We are working on our child's math and reading with Sylvan. The tutor keeps in contact with me the whole time. With math, he seems to be more confident and he has been getting better grades. But, there's a lot of stuff that he struggled with with reading and comprehension. So, he's actually going through more testing through his physician's office to see if there's something else that hinders his learning ability. The service is worth it to get the help you need. It has helped amazingly with my son.

The lady who works with my daughter is good about communicating. She's good about checking our email so if I ever send anything to her, she gets it quickly and responds quickly too. My daughter likes working with her and I love that the time schedule is so flexible. My daughter’s focus is on psychology and study skills. Her grade has improved in Psychology. It is an AP class and it’s very difficult. She’s only in tenth grade and it’s college level material. She's very capable because she always has been and she's always been very disciplined and mature for her age. But that maturity has slowed down a whole lot and she wasn't applying herself. Also, there’s a boyfriend involved now. He’s a good kid and I try to remind myself that I was a teenager once too. So, I know that it's a phase she's going through. But I got to the point where I have to do something to help her.

My eight-year-old daughter has been struggling a bit with instability in school brought about by COVID. And we noticed, like a lot of kids, she was disengaging and falling behind particularly in Reading. Her grandma suggested I look into Sylvan. I gave them a call and took my daughter in for an evaluation that day, we liked what we saw and heard, and went ahead and signed up.

I decided to use Sylvan because a mom friend spoke highly of it. Sylvan worked really well for my friend’s child. I have confidence that it’s gonna have the same effect on my twins. Signing up seemed pretty simple enough. I tried getting a little bit better pricing so that took a little bit of back and forth. We started at Sylvan right before spring break. We went once or twice before spring break then we were gone and now, we're starting up again. The tutors seemed great, so far. There’s one main tutor and the second one we use for one of the children. They all seem really nice. The kids typically come back into the car happy and they've never complained.

Sylvan is flexible and works with our schedule. Laurie, our contact person, is very accommodating and responsive to requests really quickly. We have several choices of tutors and so far, everyone’s been a pretty good match, except one. When I asked my daughter if she's had her again, she said no. I had one tutor who gave me positive feedback about the encounter. That was really helpful. So far, it's good. My daughter did one test already and she did improve her score. We're taking another test and I'm really hoping she hits the number we're looking for. Depending on what the next test shows, I would confidently say it can make a difference.

My son’s doing Sylvan and I am very pleased with them. It’s a little expensive but I wasn’t put off by that. I wasn’t happy that they had class on Easter Sunday but that's not a big deal. I've spoken to Erin several times and she's very helpful and informative. She returns my calls and texts sometimes. We're waiting for my son's SAT scores. He took SATs on March 24th and he said he felt better.

We liked the convenience of where Sylvan is located. Everything has been extremely easy. I sent an email and within 40 minutes, we got a phone call. We talked with the director, we got in the following week, and we were able to get a game plan together fairly quickly, The focus for our child is reading and we're definitely seeing improvement. My son enjoys the tutor. He had a couple of substitutes that he really liked too and one he asked if he could get every time. Our son is really thriving from the smaller class-sized experience with Sylvan. There should be consistency in what we're doing with Sylvan, what we're doing with the school, and what we're doing at home. That variety is helping.

My kids were failing in school during virtual learning because they were not getting the proper time on the computer. They were backward from the time that they got out of school and never progressed. One of my kids was having a problem and she couldn't go to tutoring because of the pandemic. That's when I started looking into tutoring. I saw that Sylvan was doing the tutoring in person. I wanted that because my kids are better in person than on the computer.

Sylvan is a good program. The people working there are very knowledgeable and helpful. As far as what I'm getting from it, I feel happy about it. It's very important for kids to have that kind of program. But sometimes, it's pricey for families that would like to have the same assistance. And sometimes, it was hard for me to be able to afford the program. But for working families or a single mom, it's a lot. Pricing is the only thing that I will ask for some help or assistance, not just for me, but for any other family in need. If Sylvan could offer any kind of assistance, that would be great. Not just an extended payment plan, because when you extend the payment, it costs more money. That doesn't make much sense.

With COVID coming on, my daughter felt like she didn't complete 8th grade. She didn't learn everything that she needed to prepare her for high school. I gave Sylvan a call and they were really nice about it. We did an assessment test after which my daughter has been going there ever since and she told me she learned a whole lot. She's in the 9th grade now.

My daughter is tutoring for reading. I have been seeing more improvement with my daughter because she's been more confident in her reading and she's becoming more fluent. They were helping her work on her fluency in her reading and now she's picking it up. I've noticed, which I've told them this from the very beginning, that she reads the way she talks. So they’ve been trying to help her talk faster, as well. We have monthly reviews of letting me know my daughter's progress and it’s very sufficient. I really like it. They are very thorough as well. So far, so good. At first, she was borderline kindergarten to make 1st grade. Now she's completely 1st grade and moving up to 2nd grade level.

I heard about Sylvan a lot. I heard about them since I was in college myself for tutoring services for pre-MCAT. I also heard about them from my Rochester public school, through mass email list. They send advertisements all the time. I also heard about them from other parents. Sylvan is very good at keeping everything positive and keeping my daughter interested in learning. Two hours at a time is probably too long for someone her age and disposition.

Sylvan is very forthcoming. It gives you all of the information, they tell you where your kids are struggling and how to build them back up, and they give you all of the proof right there on the table. The tutor built my daughter's confidence back up to where she realized she had the capabilities of performing at her full capacity. She was fabulous. It is worth the investment to make sure your kid is succeeding.

Focusing on Reading gave my son a bit of a confidence boost to help him read better. We only did it for a month. Sylvan gave me good updates on how progress went, set realistic expectations, let me know if I needed to come back in. They were very professional. They would keep his records. It was an overall good experience.

Sylvan was willing to explain how to fix my daughter's reading problem. It sounded great. My daughter had to see the tutors twice a week. And the director was very happy to fix everything that was going on. The director kept us on top of everything, explained how many classes she would need, how long it would take, what they were seeing at midpoint. And it was great communication.

Sylvan's communication has been a little inconsistent at times, but overall, it has been okay. The initial evaluation testing and how they had a meeting with the parents to go over what they tested was great. Also, I like that they have progress reports every four to six weeks. And I can see what my daughter is working on online. I'm seeing more confidence in her, and more of an effort to learning. It has been great. We're already thinking about putting in our next child, if he needs any help.

My daughter lost the love of learning, being what happened with COVID. She didn't know what really even school was and the whole learning on the computer thing was just not her style. So she lost a lot of confidence and motivation. Sylvan has worked with her and she’s doing really well. The biggest thing that has come out of that is her confidence and her love of learning is back. She likes the token system that they use. That’s a good motivator. She also really likes her tutor. She has her days where she doesn't want to go but then she comes out of it and she can go for two hours. She really loves it. It has really been amazing seeing her change like that.

Sylvan Learning Center is a great place and it's reasonably priced. I used them many years ago when my children were young and I had great results from them. My grandson is struggling because of missing so much school because of COVID. He does not do well with virtual learning and he was having a real hard time. We have put him in Sylvan and he has really begun to understand and thrive. We went in for a quick interview and went over the things that my grandson needed to work on. The guy there explained to us exactly what they were going to do.

Sylvan Learning Center was so fast to respond, so I went with them. Overall, they were friendly. When I'm in there picking him up, I usually ask the tutor how he's doing throughout the week. The subject he's in is ELA and he's on track.

After speaking with Courtney from Sylvan, she made us feel really comfortable and she was really nice. My son is in Pre-K, so the focus is more letters than reading. He's learning a lot. They don't do tutoring on Fridays, but they do it on Saturday. With our schedule, it would be nice if Fridays were open. Other than that, they're doing a great job.

I’ll highly recommend Sylvan. They're fantastic. They are very focused on the areas where my son was lacking skills from. When the pandemic hit, he couldn't get to finish all his kindergarten, so they started him off where he left off in kindergarten, and then got him up to middle of first grade level. Their goal was to have him middle of second grade level by the time the year's over.

I was looking online to get help for my daughter. I wanted something that was established and I could trust because I tried other things earlier and they didn't pan out. I heard in the past about Sylvan from other people. So when I saw them, it was like, "Okay, that's right." It was very easy to get started and I love them. My daughter is in sixth grade and she had tested at a second grade level. She refused to do anything at school. Now, we're focusing on getting her up to speed with Math. She is starting to be more positive about learning and starting to do better at school. I've already told her she's probably gonna stay with Sylvan until she's 18. I recommend Sylvan to everybody I see who's having trouble with their kids. It's great.

I called and Sylvan knew exactly what I needed. We're having issues with reading comprehension and they said, "You've come to the right place." They did an assessment, we came up with a plan, and everything has been very orderly and organized, which has been great. They gave us a very nice assessment in the beginning and in the next couple of weeks, we'll do a marking against that assessment to see what kind of progress we're making. It has only been five weeks, but we feel we are seeing progress already.

The tutor is getting my son more prepared for the SATs and for college. It's helping get him up to speed. He said positive things about Sylvan because it's definitely helping.

My son was in the hospital and got behind in this College Statistics class that he was doing in high school. He needed to get caught up. When I made an inquiry online to ask about whether it would be something that my son would benefit from, the man from Sylvan Learning got back to me that same day. It was on a Sunday. He was just immediately very involved and helpful. Then the next day, my husband took our son to the learning center. It was great. The professor from Sylvan was also marvelous. I was very impressed.

My child had a significant self-confidence boost since going to Sylvan. Our tutor is great. I highly recommend her. She's definitely worth the money.

They have progress written down on a paper, but it would be a little more informative to be able to speak with the person that’s doing the tutoring with my child so I can get a better understanding of his progress, or what he needs to work on, instead of sitting down and speaking with the director. It’s also a little expensive. But if you have the opportunity to even try it out for a couple of months, it’s worth it. Before, my child would give up really easily. Right now, he is putting a little more effort into trying to solve the things that he didn’t understand or was lacking fundamentals.

My child is seven and he's starting out with the basics like letterings and sounds because he's behind because of the COVID. I spoke with the teachers yesterday and they were saying they see a big improvement so I am satisfied. Sylvan is excellent and it's well-needed.

We've had positive experiences with Sylvan. We have used Sylvan in the past with our younger child. A year's worth of tutoring to Sylvan was successful. Our child was having trouble with math. We had moved multiple schools in their building block years. When he was in third grade, we were debating on retaining him and decided to try Sylvan over the summer. We saw a big improvement in between his third and fourth grade year, and he is on par to taking more advanced math classes now. So, it definitely worked.

My brother who is now 40 used Sylvan way back in like the mid-90s so we're familiar with the program. My son is five and this is the first tutoring that we've done. The tutor is helping him with reading and learning letters. It's a very early childhood type thing. Sylvan has levels at this early age and my son has increased three reading levels in two months. It's unheard of and it's been amazing. Sylvan has been well worth the experience and it's definitely cost-effective. They're very welcoming at the center and they have a family-oriented atmosphere. All-around, it's been a great experience for us.

All the staff at Sylvan center were incredible. Always organized accommodating, and compassionate. My daughter improved tremendous in her academics. I appreciate all Giovanna did for us! I would definitely recommend Sylvan Learning Centers to all parents. Annette

Somebody recommended Sylvan to me. My child's focus is Math right now. She has the confidence to work on her own and she has learned new ways to solve a problem. There are different ways to solve a problem to get to the same answer. That's one thing that has helped her. She went from a D to an A. Every time somebody told me something about their kid having problems at school, especially virtual learning, I would say, "Go to Sylvan 'cause they got my kids together." She enjoys the experience.

Sylvan is a great match for my child. They are compassionate and caring. My child is now doing Math and the learning style of how the teacher is breaking down the different steps and the concepts in an easy-to-understand approach. It's also a one-on-one approach. It allows my child to be able to focus directly on that teacher and those steps without it having a lot of other students involved. It was indicated that there would be a monthly assessment. I've had it on my to do list to do that because that's probably something on me that I have access to and I've just not taken the appropriate steps. That assessment is to be able to get a monthly update on my child's progression with the skills that he's mastering.

Sylvan Learning is great to work with and people should definitely look into it. My child is doing PreACT and she was given study guides. She's just sitting down and answering questions. She's still in it until April. She's still in the middle of the test prep. With the program, she seems more confident. There are areas that she doesn't like to do and Sylvan is pushing her into working in the areas that she doesn't enjoy.

Sylvan is close to our house. I have two children, and they're in SAT prep. They like going.

Sylvan focused on sounds, letter recognition and number with my daughter who is in kindergarten. It's a stepping stone for all kids at that age. We felt our daughter was going to miss out. The teacher didn't come to us and tell us. We just had to nail it in, and then keep drawing her to give us more information. Based on her progress report, we weren't satisfied. It seemed like she was behind so then, we went and had her assessed. And when they told us that she was a semester behind, then we just wanted to make sure that she grasped all the new concepts in kindergarten to make sure that she can carry that forward in first grade. Since our daughter has been to Sylvan, we noticed that when we do our homework with her, she's more independent and identifies recognition of numbers. Before, she couldn't count past 10. And now, she counts ahead of that and identifies with all the number sequences, sounds, letter recognition. We could tell.

We like Sylvan's flexible scheduling. The tutor is focusing on Math and I notice an improvement. They're doing a great job.

We checked in with Kumon and they were super flaky, never got back to us, set an appointment and then cancelled it. So, we checked out Sylvan and just had a good feel for them right away. We reached out because of the obvious COVID issues with school and kids not getting enough direction and what they need. On Math, the tutor is focused with the actual lesson that my son is working on at that time, and then language arts, fundamental items. He has a lot more confidence. It has been nice for him to have somebody that knows the information inside and out that can help him with stuff right away instead of me trying to fumble through the internet or whatever resource. He's doing good. He's high B and low As this time.

My son is a very good reader. But the hardest thing I have with him is getting him to learn how to write and really comprehend what he has read. I heard about how a lot of kids advance and learn really quickly from their teachers. That is why I put him into Sylvan and so far, so good. My son really loves Sylvan. He tells me all the time how he loves the atmosphere and how his teachers are so pleasant. They make learning fun. I've seen my son's grades come up a little and I can tell that he’s really trying to grasp the concept of reading comprehension. So our experience with Sylvan is phenomenal. I hope that they continue to rub off all their love and wisdom to all the kids that they encounter on a daily basis.

Sylvan, so far, has been more personable and more nurturing, as well as academic. The tutoring is focused on Math. My child's grades have improved a little. He's more confident in his ability of what to do. I'm very happy. I would definitely recommend it.

My daughter is dyslexic. She was struggling really badly with her phonics and reading. I needed to find something that could possibly put her to where she needed to be as far as her academics so I decided to try Sylvan from a referral from a boss. My daughter is still in the tutoring right now. She's reading complete sentences now, whereas she wasn't at first. Sylvan has helped her tremendously. It was money well spent.

We did not enjoy Kumon for the reason that they had homework that my son would have to take home. My son goes to a private school. So to keep up that homework plus Kumon's homework was not working. Then if you missed a day, then you had to redo all those pages. So it was giving more stress than helping. So I took him out of that and we went to Sylvan. My son is way more into sports than studies and he loves going there. He loves the people at Sylvan. I asked him the other day who his favorite teachers were, and he named all of them. That's saying a lot coming from a kid that doesn't enjoy studying all the time. So they've been great.

We got our son into Sylvan for Reading and so far, he has not had a full report card yet, but his progress report grade as we're benchmarking it seemed a little bit higher than they previously had. And he seems to be a few grade levels behind. So, a slight improvement is all I would be expecting from school at this point. He also seems to be more focused on the material since he started with Sylvan and I've noticed some small improvements in our conversations. So hopefully, that's helpful. All in all, our experience with Sylvan has been great and our son has really good experiences with all of the tutors, but there were a few that he was really gravitated toward that seemed to work for his learning style.

Our daughter was writing an essay to get into a youth leadership program. My husband and I had been working with her, but it seemed like we needed more help because we're not teachers. In general, we just didn't have the knowledge to help her. Sylvan started out with our daughter four weeks to help her with the essay by the time it was turned in. They helped her write about the topic, “What is leadership?” They helped her write an intro to that. Then they helped her write some supporting areas of what is leadership and a conclusion. After those four weeks, she started doing the writing program. She likes the service. She always comes home in a good mood. She likes having support outside of having her parents help her.

Because of Covid, no one was really wanting to do tutoring at home so we went with Sylvan, which was our only option. Right now, the tutor is focused on reading and writing. When my son first started, he was reading at a 1.2 level. The tutor has just tested him last week and he's now at a 1.9 level. So he's increasing, which is good. The tutors are very personable and always nice. They know your children's names and they're very personal with your kids.

Sylvan is great. They've helped to get my daughter more engaged and interested. The tutor focuses on math with her and everything is going great. She loves it and she looks forward to it.

I've seen where my grandbaby needed some help, so I figured, “Well, I'll school him through my own,” and I've seen Sylvan's name popped up. I said, "Well, I'm gonna try." He's doing okay, so far. He's like, "Grandma, I don't want to go to school and learn no more. Do I have to do this alone?" "Yes, you do." "Why grandma? I want to go play." "No. You gotta get this done, baby." "I don't have to go today?" "Yes, you're going today. You get three days out of a week to go." It's awesome. Try. You are gonna like it. You wanna go back.

When I started looking into tutoring services, Sylvan is only six minutes away from my home. Plus, when I looked them up online, I saw some good reviews, as well as they had a free evaluation. They were the only place I looked into and just decided on. My son goes for Reading. But he did test that he could use some Math help. But we decided that the Reading was more urgent to get him going. And we would just focus on that, hoping everything else would follow once the reading got that closer to where it needed to be.

My daughter feels more confident and more comfortable with reading now. She seems to enjoy reading more since attending the tutor. But we still have a little ways to go. I would suggest Sylvan highly because they're very good. They're very helpful in helping to provide reminders to ensure that the student is able to participate in her sessions. It's great in the current times that we're in, that they offer the ability to have tutoring virtually because the other place that I was using before didn't have that ability to offer that as a service.

When my daughter started remote learning, immediately, she was having some challenges in math that she had never had before with the in-person learning model. I started doing research. I googled math tutors in our area. Sylvan came up with a couple local owners. I was familiar with the Sylvan name from commercials, and I also went to Sylvan when I was a child in Oregon.

With the coronavirus and all that stuff that's been going on with my son in school, there was a decline in some of his reading. He's in first grade, so this is kind of their foundation being set up. So I was looking into who were still open and available for help, and Sylvan was one of the options that was nearby, and that I had seen over the course of years, like even from when I was in school. When I'm thinking of tutoring or help for a child, I would look for somebody that has longevity like Sylvan versus other word of mouth places that I've heard.

My daughter has improved a lot while going with Sylvan. She's always been a 4.0 kid. Aside from the fact that the world is a dumpster fire and her tutoring was not assisting her at all, she was having a really tough time with AP Calc. So, it wasn't that she wasn't turning anything in or she was just literally bombing the tests. Sylvan has really helped her grasp the concepts of it and passing her tests now. She has significantly improved her grades. It was worth every penny.

Sylvan is close by my house and a friend goes to it. So, I signed up my daughter for tutoring in Math and Writing. She seems to be improving and the tutoring is keeping her up with her class now. Her experience with Sylvan has been great and she's enjoying it.

I had a family member that used Sylvan Learning for a long time. They like it. When I initiated taking my son to Sylvan Learning, I assumed that maybe he had a learning problem. My son enjoyed going to Sylvan Learning, but just observing him, we have come to the conclusion that he doesn't have a problem. He just doesn't enjoy reading. Going to Sylvan Learning did excite him, and he loved his tutors. But what we couldn't fix was just him wanting to do it. That is the problem, it is not that he had a problem and he needed help. I would absolutely suggest Sylvan Learning to someone who need tutoring because of the friendliness of the staff and the way that they care, and the pricing, too. We were able to get a military discount, which was a big help to me with everything that I had been dealing with.

The tutoring focused on my child's writing, the anxiety of taking the thoughts and putting them on paper. Now we're getting ideas on paper. She is actually writing and wants to be there to write so that's huge. Sylvan Learning is definitely worth a try.

My oldest is working on test prep and my younger daughter is encompassing of all subjects. I hope she'll be more organized and gain some more confidence in what she's doing and what she's learning. Overall, I've been very impressed with Sylvan's service. They're very thorough and encouraging.

We work out of the Carmel, Indiana Sylvan. As soon as I made a request for more information, I received a phone call in five minutes. We were sitting in the office the very next day, scheduling assessments. They were right on it. Our child does both math and reading. Instead of pushing forward with what she was learning, they backtracked and mastered some of the gaps in her knowledge before they got current, and that really solidified her being able to move forward.

Sylvan was pretty honest with my wife. She felt she could trust them. She did it for her brother. They thought she should reach other avenues first. They actually didn't help him. He was just having trouble with school.

They have actual certified teachers versus students teaching. We're still working on math and then our tutor is gonna go with my son for the ACT testing. Within one or two sessions, you could see a difference. He was excited about it again, and his grade's already gone up a whole level. I love it. I've sent it to all my friends since kids have been struggling. It boosts their mental mindset of school. It helps them.

I was looking online for tutoring services and there were two places that I inquired. I asked on their website to give me more information and of the two places, Sylvan replied first. They called me literally the next day, and I was blown away by how quick their response was. Even their availability to make an appointment for the assessment was really quick. We set up an assessment pretty much the next day. At the assessment, the director showed me what the price options were for the packages. I like that they had the prepaid sessions. We signed up for the prepaid 60-session. Also, they were willing to work with me on dividing up the payment. So, we set up on a four-month plan. They were very flexible with me, which I appreciate.

Before, I used a friend's son in high school as a tutor. He went to college so we have to find someone else. With Sylvan, the tutors are adult so it's a much better experience. They focus every day on one thing, which is good. That makes it more, for my son, to practice. The learning experience is much easier for him. I would definitely recommend it.

Sylvan evaluated my son first and figured out where he was struggling. They figured out where they had to go back and start, and then move forward. So, they have a whole plan of what skills to develop with him. He's done some 30 sessions right now and he's already moved up a grade in his knowledge base. His confidence levels are really high. It's a lot higher than what they were when he started. He's always struggled in math. He told me the other week that he really likes Sylvan because they take their time. They don't rush him. He likes math for the first time in forever. So they're helping him. I would definitely recommend them. I was a little leery going in because my son does have a learning disability when it comes to math. But in just over a month of him doing these classes, there's a total difference in him. He doesn't fight me to get online to do the classes.

We have them right now for Reading and the one-to-one attention helped. Soon, we'll have them for Math. I'm satisfied with my experience so far.

My son is in the 2nd grade and we have Sylvan for Reading. There's a little bit of improvement. We speak with the teachers from time to time and they said he was doing really good. I like Sylvan. My son loves it.

It was very quick contact from the time I put in the inquiry on the website until I got a call. And then, they had the intake scheduled for him within two days of that call. We were concerned in the middle of a pandemic what tutoring would look like. My son was struggling in school because school was virtual and he does much better face-to-face. Sylvan was able to accommodate some face-to-face tutoring for him, which seemed to be helpful. He connected well with his tutor and did really well. He was failing Precalculus so it focused specifically on that Precalculus course - understanding the content better and testing skills. I would definitely recommend Sylvan Learning. Everything went very smoothly, and my son and I felt comfortable. It was a great experience. I would tell that to others as well.

My husband's son used Sylvan when he was a kid, and he had a huge improvement. We decided to go with Sylvan again. Everything is going great. My son is doing reading with them. He is showing quite a bit of improvement. Before Sylvan, he would fight me on even attempting to read anything, even just directions for his homework because he struggled with a lot of the sounds. He wasn't comprehending different things that go with the sounds of letters, whether they're by themselves or put with other letters. Sylvan has changed his whole mindset on that. He's taking the time to try a lot more than he used to.

During the time we spent at Sylvan, the company was unorganized and unprofessional. We had to stop using Sylvan due to the pandemic but prior to that the company changed center directors three times, then late in 2019 changed owners. The owner did not have a clue what he was doing and when the pandemic hit, I told him we would no longer be attending but I was still getting charged for sessions we did not use. When I did go visit the owner, he had children running around without masks, this was in August/September timeframe when pandemic had reached one of its peaks. I asked him for documentation of charges and when he showed me my file, he had written us down for sessions we did not attend. He said he would have to get back with me; never did.

The tutor was wonderful and understanding. I love Sylvan and my experience has been great. I would recommend it.

Sylvan Learning definitely helped my son. He was struggling in geometry. He's doing really good now. Even in his final, he had a 41 in that class, and he's brought it up all the way to an 80. If he needs to go back, I will be sending him back. They did an awesome job. I've already told my sister about them. Her son has dyslexia and has been struggling. To anybody who struggles, I would recommend it 100%.

My daughter really enjoyed her experience at Sylvan. She was excited to go. Their one-on-one process with the child is really amazing. We’re really thankful for it. They’re very knowledgeable and skilled with what they do and we, as parents, notice that. Also, it's not overly expensive and the staff was amazing from the start to the end. They focused on every subject with our daughter and she's had all As and a B minus in the subject areas. It saved her confidence. If we ever run into another problem, she's going right back there and she's okay with that.

My son enjoys the learning experience with Sylvan. So far, so good. We focus pretty much on comprehension and we're still working on it. The facilitators have been great and we've had a great experience. I always thought that Sylvan was the best. If you need it, you should use it.

Everything was good with our experience at Sylvan Learning. We were mainly focusing on reading, writing and spelling. They made huge progress and they increased their testing scores. They both were able to gain what they needed to keep up with classes. I've referred a few people to Sylvan Learning. It was great.

I was on the fence between Sylvan and Varsity Tutors. Patricia, the one in charge of the Kirkland Sylvan that we go to, called me at the last minute, and told me that the curriculum that Sylvan offers aligns with the school district that my child is in. So, that sealed the deal. Patricia has put in so much effort. She remembers these little things about my daughter such as exactly where my daughter is at and what she's learning. I don't know how you keep that straight with so many kids but she does an incredible job. My daughter is in second grade and she was one whole grade level behind. Now, she has caught up to first grade. She has only done 23 hours and she's possibly moving forward to some second-grade skills. We're so grateful. We referred a friend and so, we got hours added to our account. Then, our friend referred two friends. So, it's a great system.

Sylvan was the one that was most familiar to me that I had seen advertising. They could do that online so it was something that we could do. The tutor focused on reading and my child’s experience has been good. They have weekly tutoring sessions and he's been doing this about a month. They helped him improve by going back and teaching him what he had missed maybe in an earlier grade to try to get him back up to grade level. We’ve been very pleased with Sylvan. It's a good option for him to get tutoring when I'm not able to help him since I'm not a teacher and we don't have other options available in a small town. The online tutoring has been great.

My baby didn’t wanna learn anything at all. She lost it completely and all of a sudden, she likes it again. She can read better now and if we’re driving, she notices words, which is something she wasn’t doing at all. I’m excited that she’s back happy about learning. Sometimes, it doesn’t have anything to do with tutoring. They also try to make the kids safe always. Sylvan is good with the kids. I love it. I’m glad my grandmother and my mother told me to go to Sylvan.

We were trying to get our son's reading level up ‘cause he was supposed to be in second-grade reading and he came in at kindergarten. Working through Sylvan, he's up to first-grade and he's getting a lot better. One of his tutors’ name was Jamie. He worked with her all summer long. During COVID, on the computer, my son's tutor worked with the school as well. The school allowed us to let the tutor also see what he was working on during school to mix it in as well. That way, they helped him with his schoolwork. It wasn't just strictly their program. Sylvan has been really working with us and I have no complaints.

A few years ago, we used Mathnasium but now my granddaughter is enrolled with Sylvan and she's pretty impressed with it. She's using them for English and Math, and the lessons have really improved her confidence more than anything else. She realized she wasn't quite as stupid as she thought she was and that’s very important. She also really raved about how everybody there seem to make her feel real comfortable and helpful. All in all, the experience has been a lot better than what school has been.

We've had private tutors, then we started putting back our daughter into Sylvan because her private tutor had to move away. She has been through a lot this year with the learning curves and Google Class. But the last time we put her in Sylvan, she kind of got ignored and I was a little frustrated with that. We were spending $25 on a tutor there and we felt that we were paying $25 for a babysitter. So, we went down to just one subject. She has gotten a lot of help and the math tutor there has been very good in keeping up with my daughter. The math tutor is wonderful and we haven't had to worry about getting questions answered. She has a lot of positivity with that and it helped bring our daughter's grace back up.

I wanted more strategies for learning for my son and I didn't want specific subjects. I just wanted him to learn how to learn, so I didn't go to anything necessarily called tutoring and instead went with Sylvan Learning. So far, my son is has learned how to take better notes and to organize his studying. I don't know that his grades are all that much better, but at least I did what I could to help him. I'm very confused about the structure though. It's supposed to improve his study habits and test-taking, which was what I paid for. But overall, I'm satisfied with them.

Sylvan has helped my child stay on grade level with math and be more comfortable with it. You should try them.

My daughter has severe dyslexia and she goes to Sylvan Learning Centers for reading. She still really struggles with reading but I have noticed a huge difference in her confidence and her ability to try new words. She has been reading signs and shirts. She is enjoying learning and Sylvan has been a wonderful environment for her. I recommend Sylvan and with them, we've seen improvements with our daughter in a short amount of time. I homeschool my children and I have been battling this reading beast for the past four years. I've loved seeing her growth with Sylvan. It has been a wonderful environment for her.

Even though Sylvan Learning Centers is really expensive and it's really hard, I see that my son has marked improvement since he has been going there. He's more focused and he has been doing better with his grades. Right now, he's doing Math and Reading. He has a new zeal for school that he didn't have in the past. He has learned his times table. He is excited and confident. Sylvan's staff has been warm, gentle, friendly and encouraging. Other people try to put the attention deficit label on him. He can't do this, he can't do that and I just don't believe in that. I believe my child can do anything anybody else can do and he's really showing it here. We've had a very good experience with this company. I'm pleased with the overall result.

My son enjoys going to Sylvan and the tutors that he's working with. His Math teacher says that she has seen him be more engaged in class since he has been in Sylvan. Also, I appreciate that they adapt. We had laid out a plan originally and my son was not getting through some stuff as quickly as we expected. They adjusted his plan. My son feels more confident and he is learning. The one drawback would be the price but with that aside, we've had a great experience so far. The director that we've been working with has been wonderful. We've already had our first conference with her and had a couple of concerns with some interactions that my son had with other kids. She took everything very seriously and she was able to address my concerns.

I was looking for some kind of tutoring and the reviews of Sylvan were better. So I ended up going with them. I like their staff My son is doing better in Reading and it has been only a month so far. The learning experience has been good. My son is really excited every day that he has to go. If a friend or family member can afford it, it's good for their kids and I will definitely recommend it.

Sylvan has small groups, but there are even smaller groups right now and that's working very well for our daughter. We have our daughter going in person two days a week. And when she was there in under two weeks. She's there for Reading. We saw an instant increase in her confidence and her reading ability. So we were very satisfied with the program.

Hunter has been doing very well there at Sylvan. There are a couple of women that work there that are excellent with him. They go above and beyond and know how to navigate through his laptop from school. They really sit down with Hunter, and they go through his stuff with him. They take a lot of time and they write things down. They even write things down for me what he has done. I talked to some people and they said Sylvan was really good, so I went with them.

When my nephew was younger, he went to Sylvan and my brother was very pleased with that. Now, my daughter is using Sylvan for the ACT exam. Her tutor helped her improve with everything overall especially with her knowledge and her confidence. After each day that she was there, the facilitators would come out and explain everything that has happened. I was very pleased and satisfied with Sylvan.

One of our sons used Sylvia Learning Centers a while back. I also heard good things about it for a few years and I knew that they were a company that you could count on. I have two children there right now. One is in math and the other is in reading. They've gone up, in their grade level, with their rating on their test. So, they're comprehending the stuff now and feeling confident. The girls are happy. Aside from that, I have a monthly meeting with Sylvia Learning Centers to go over where my kids are at and if I have any questions, they keep me updated on what's going on. I am very pleased and they're doing exactly what I was hoping they would do. My baby loves the coins and the point systems, too. My other daughter thinks it's cool. She saves them and gives them mainly to her little sister.

I was looking around for different tutoring options, and Sylvan Learning looked like it was the best one. The tutor focused on reading and math for a couple of months and my daughter has gone back up to grade level in one area and a couple of levels in the other. She's been doing it all virtually and she's enjoyed it so far. Outside of the tutoring aspect, Sylvan Learning has been very helpful with school as well. She's doing all virtual school too, so she's got her own little learning area that she goes to to do it every evening.

Two of my nephews went to a Sylvan program and were successful. I also shopped around and looked at the way the other programs were structured. I trust the facilitators and I believe that they're extremely competent and effective. My nephew came to Sylvan three to four grades below grade level. When we identified the specific areas that he needed help in, they then focused on those areas and provided online and in-person instruction to assist him. The mastery test also helped to have him gain confidence, and he now knows this area at a level that others who are at that grade would know it, or more.

I've used Sylvan Learning several times before when my kids were younger and it helped a lot. Within a month, both of their grades jumped way up. They work with my youngest on his reading and math area. We had thought he might have to go to a 504 Plan or something along those lines because we weren't sure what was going on but as soon as I took him to Sylvan, all his grades and every class shot up within a month or two. Then, when he was in the fourth grade, that was the first year that he managed to not just pass the STAR test, but master it. That was the breakthrough. Up until then, every time he would take any kind of standardized test, he was failing.

Sylvan is better than a different tutoring option I've used before and my child told me that he likes it a lot. They're helping my son so I'm happy. The tutor focused on reading with my child and it has only been a month but I've seen an improvement. I have talked to a few of my friends and I would recommend Sylvan. Everybody is nice and friendly, and they're very knowledgeable on what they're doing.

We were in public school and he had a tutor but now that we're in a private school, she wasn't an option anymore so we went to Sylvan. It's been wonderful. They do a lot of things to keep the students engaged, like winning this life-size llama, which I now sleep with, that he got with his point system. My son does not enjoy school and he says that he likes Sylvan. He doesn’t cry to go there, so that’s beneficial.

Sylvan was specifically offered as a contractor that my employer was utilizing for the purpose of having their employees have access to student tutoring to assist with work-at-home stuff. My job essentially paid for the tutoring sessions up to a certain threshold, and then I was initially gonna cover the rest, but I didn't go past the first month. We did their homework help program because my daughter's in first grade, and she's got a bunch of things that need to be finished by the end of every day. And because I work from home until five o'clock, I'm not always free to help her concentrate on that stuff, and so I was taking her in there to drop her off. They had a list of the work she needed done. The person there would help her get all her work done. When I picked her up, her work would be finished, and so we could finish up for the day and go home.

The tutor focused on my child's Math and study skills. They seem to be able to understand my daughter's level of Math and to be able to communicate with her in the needs that she has. They give her the teaching methods that she best understands, and they don't force her to do things that she's not ready to do. So far, it helped her confidence level and understanding of the basic principles. She's enjoyed class, she's understanding the subject matter much better, and she's more comfortable in asking questions when needed. I would highly recommend Sylvan. They've always been very communicative with us and given us plenty of choices and options.

I put my daughter in Epic when we had the shutdown. The teacher told us about being able to use the remainder of the Epic funds for Sylvan and we went ahead and went that route and used up the remainder of her funds. The process was very easy. It was a little pricey but my daughter did great, so it was worth it. She has a little bit of a learning disability. So they worked with her on math. Nanette at the location is great. But now we're waiting on a transfer to the Owasso location, but nobody has gotten back to us. Her last session was October 21st and we had been waiting since then. But overall, I'm completely satisfied.

My child has finished kindergarten and she's going into the first grade. But she's unable to read. Her learning experience with the tutor from Sylvan has been good. It's quite a distance to drive and now, they don't have one in Huntsville anymore. But Willow enjoyed the trip very much and the people were really nice and friendly. We have our last class tomorrow and Willow still cannot read. So the fact that she has spent $500 worth and still can't read bothers me.

My son is two grades behind in his math. So Sylvan is starting back working in two grades behind and working up with him, teaching him his math fast, and getting him where he needs to be. It's just a little bit expensive but I'm very pleased with it. My son goes there and he likes it. He comes out and he's happy. He's learning something and he's not frustrated. They really listen to you as a parent when you go in there. They assess your child. They find what their strengths and weaknesses are and they totally focus on that subject that your child needs at a level and are not pushing them. I've had other tutors that aren't worth two cents so Sylvan has been a great experience for us. I had a niece who went there maybe about 17 years ago when she was in the first grade for reading and was completely satisfied.

We had had a private tutor but Sylvan for us has been much better. We are happy where we are. My son is doing Math with them and his grades have improved from an F to a B. He's doing better in Math ‘cause he understands it. I would recommend Sylvan for small group learning which is where we've done well and explain how well we've done since he started. They've been really good. They've been really nice about moving schedules around and accommodating via zoom over in person due to COVID. I appreciate that as well.

My kids went to Kumon first then I changed to Sylvan. Sylvan is very good. It's better than Kumon. They started in September and there is an improvement in my daughter in math and reading.

Sylvan was convenient to where I live. In just three days after my daughter started, we could tell that a burden was lifted off her and she felt kind of relieved. She's doing online school and she's the type of a math student where she either has a good teacher that she understands or she might have a good teacher but they don't teach so that she understands it.

Everything is good with Sylvan. My daughter is in third grade and she was going on a kindergarten level in math. Now, she's first grade. She's getting a lot better.

My child seems to like the learning experience. They spent time teaching him. The facilitators seemed to be good and Sylvan has really helped my child.

In my research, I saw that Sylvan's approach to the tutoring was kind of more in line with what I was looking for. Both of my kids go for reading. The exercises that they do kind of reinforced some of the skills that they were weakened so that they feel a little bit more confident now in those areas. Reading used to be a chore, but now, because they're kind of sharpening those skills, it's becoming something that they feel better about doing. It's been great. They're very accommodating and they work with me. So far, my children have enjoyed it. It's a really good tutoring center. We are really happy with it. It costs a lot of money, but it's worth it.

One of our daughters went there when she was younger. My grandson is now doing reading with them. It's a process with a six year old. He is at first grade and they keep us appraised. They make sure things are consistent, which is good for me.

Sylvan was recommended by one of my close friends. It was doing great things for her child that was the same age as mine. So we called them and they were extremely flexible and helpful and effective. We've gone from 12 hours down to 6 hours. It's done amazing things and given my son more confidence than I could have ever hoped for at this point, especially with what's going on with COVID. I didn't even consider anybody else. I went straight to them. They've been around for 39 years and 99.9% of the reviews are positive, so there was no doubt in my mind that Sylvan was where I wanted him to go.

Both of my kids go to Sylvan for math and reading. With the whole COVID thing and the kids not in school, they didn't get anything out of last year and I needed to get them caught up. My son started out having difficulty reading basic sight words and he is doing very well now. He can read sentences and he's trucking right along. We couldn't be happier. Sylvan is absolutely amazing and they work with us. If one of the kids is sick, they're able to manipulate the schedule so it works better for us. It's an overall great experience and we wish we had done it sooner.

My son hated reading so bad because he couldn't sound out each letter to put the word together. I decided to get ahold of Sylvan and the tutor focused on his reading and comprehension. Now, he still struggles to read but he can get words put together and he's able to read. There are words that he can read without even trying to sound them out. He's so much better than he was. We got started right after everything closed down for the COVID. Back in school, it seemed like everything was going good. But we've been on quarantine for almost two months this year. I'm the one helping him with homework and I think it's helped a lot.

Things were very okay with Sylvan. The tutor focuses on my son's Math and English and the teacher from his school reported great improvements. But I'm not seeing much improvements in the last two months. I would be very glad if the way we were working before could continue.

My daughter said Sylvan helped her to understand and read the questions correctly so that she can identify what is actually being asked in the math problem. She said she worked with a good person. She had two people that were okay and one that she didn't like. So they accommodated us to remove her from the one that she wasn't comfortable with. It's expensive but it's worth it. Because I had another daughter that I used it for reading and it helped. But it would be good if I could get a discount. They are expensive compared to others.

My boys were attending Sylvan last year. This is the second time. The first time around when I took them, some other people were telling me about it while the boys were attending at school. At that time, they were also doing math and reading. But the first time around when I brought them, things were set up differently. They were coming in for what they're coming in for now, which was to get them on track and to close the gap. The first time around, that didn't happen. The gap was closed. They were focusing on helping them with homework. So, some of the learning that they needed to do during that time didn't really get to happen. Now, the changes I've seen the second time around is that's a separate fee and you come in on separate days if you want that. That is kind of better. It doesn't interfere with closing the gap.

My mom sent me to Sylvan as a child for tutoring. Now, during the whole latest school closures and virtual learning, we wanted to make sure that our son had more of an experience with a tutor to guide him through the virtual learning as well as give me an opportunity to go to work, so it was a win-win for both of us. Sylvan is amazing. The one-on-one tutoring that they get is awesome. They're a lifesaver for my son and for parents that try to figure things out, especially in the time that we're currently living in. I recommended them in our PTA group for my son's school as well.

We're a rural community and it's more than an hour's drive from my house to take my child to Sylvan, an hour's drive home, and an hour instruction. It was hard to do but Sylvan was recommended. My child is in elementary and we focused on reading. We gained a full grade level but we still have educational difficulties, and they're gonna continue. That's the way it's gonna be but we were severely behind and it placed us that much closer to where we needed to be.

I tried one other tutoring option but it was just an assessment. Then, we did the assessment at Sylvan and Valeria felt a lot more comfortable, which was why we went with that. She was behind in her reading level and I noticed that ever since she was in kinder, she had been having trouble. But I was hoping that with time, she'd be able to catch up. It didn't get worse but she wasn't improving the way we wanted her to. So, me and my husband needed to do something about it. Valeria liked Sylvan. She's excited to learn and has moved up one level. She's still having a little bit of trouble reading out loud. The nerves get the better of her, so she would stutter a little bit and second guess. But other than that, I've noticed that she's more open into reading and she'll get a book here at home and start reading before going to bed.

My son is in eighth grade but his math skills are very poor. But it's gotten a lot better since he's been with Sylvan. He likes attending it. It’s a very good facility.

My son has been doing much better with Math. He is building confidence, and Sylvan is showing him new ways to look at the problems and figure them out. So he is gaining that confidence knowing that Math isn't that bad and that he can do it. That's the biggest takeaway we've seen, so far. He doesn't get so discouraged all of a sudden. He looks at the problem and he is able to figure out the formula and what he needs to do. My son is autistic, so he has other little circumstances that he has to overcome, but he's getting the tools that he needs to be able to figure out the problems by himself without a lot of input from me, and that's been a big takeaway. I've recommended Sylvan to several of my friends, and even my boss who has taken her son in and he is getting tutoring as well.

My daughter is doing good. She’s reading pre-reader books and she can read probably 75% of it. She loves going to Sylvan. The director that she sees and does her tutoring session with is great. It's been a great experience.

My daughter did the Sylvan program five years ago and now, my son is doing it for a few months. He is doing reading and phonics. Sylvan is well worth the money. It’s worth the sacrifice as well. Everything for your child. They're really good.

Sylvan Learning is definitely a good place. I've known about them because my sister sent her kids to Sylvan before. She said that that helped my nephew in school, so I wasn't hesitant to try sylvan out. Julie focused on math and ELA for my kid and he had a good time. He loved her. We're still doing distance learning and I haven't seen his grades for the first marking period yet, but overall, it was a good experience.

We looked at Kumon and that was only Math, and we didn’t want that. We wanted someplace that do Math and other subjects. Also, one of the other centers I looked into was only doing virtual at that time. Sylvan could offer the other areas and they were offering in-person tutoring. Right now, we’re focusing on reading and writing and then, we have a plan to incorporate Math as well. It has been a great experience for the kids. They enjoy it, which is important. I’ve already seen some improvements with their reading and writing, so it’s going very well.

My child has ADHD and does better with in person learning. He's doing math and reading through Sylvan. They really grow my son's confidence. He's making 100s now on his math assessment, and this is a child who gets a special education services at school. Sylvan is doing an amazing job, and my son's flourishing. I'm watching him enjoy going, making 100's, getting more confident in himself, and actually speaking up and answering. The school has even given the feedback that he's really involved this year. He's talking. He's answering questions. Sylvan has really done a lot.

We're really happy with Alexis' tutor. She's getting tutoring for SAT, mostly for math and a little verbal. Her tutor, Garner, along with the director, Vivon, have both been fantastic. Vivon helped me figure out what we needed and arranged everything. A year ago, we were at the Cary office, and the woman there was horrible. I was able to speak to some director named Katherine and I told her that the completely noncustomer service of the woman was really terrible. I was a repeat customer who was really hesitant then. I did not wanna work with that office anymore. So, Katherine put me in touch with the Durham office since all of this was virtual anyway. They were excellent there.

I'm very happy with Sylvan. We are using them for writing. My twin boys are students there, and they love it. They love the instructors that they're working with, and I feel they are learning lots. They're always eager and happy to have a lesson with their instructor. We're doing virtual right now, and it's going very well. I'm very satisfied. It's a great company. Communication is great.

My daughter did Math through one of Sylvan's tutors. She went from just the beginning second grade level to full-on third grade level within 17 sessions. She’s much more confident now. She enjoys learning through Sylvan. I would recommend others to go to them, especially if their child's education is important to them. We're appreciative of the effort that they put in, and they're very patient. My daughter went from not liking any schools to actually loving school. They brought out the best in her and what I couldn't bring out.

I specifically wanted a math tutoring for my daughter. I sent an email to Sylvan and a lady contacted me right back. From there, the ball went rolling. She had to take a test for math to see where she was at then we went over the plans. My daughter told me a couple days ago that she's getting a lot of 100s in math. Her confidence level is definitely going up a lot ‘cause she thinks she doesn't really know math. Whoever's been tutoring her works well with kids. Overall, I like Sylvan. They accommodate for times. Their times are good. I have had no issue with them especially the ones here that I'm going to.

My son is currently with Sylvan doing language arts and he is improving. The tutor takes the lead and ask questions, and my child feels free and comfortable enough to engage. He's been engaging and that helps with the learning process. His tutor helps with that. I'm pretty satisfied that's why we're still using Sylvan. Compared with the previous company, I liked the personalized evaluation with Sylvan, the experience they shared, the guidance and the lead that they can take. I really like them a lot. They wanna help and they act like they wanna help. It helps us to engage and have that comfortability factor so we can communicate.

Sylvan has been really rewarding for my daughter. In reading, my daughter's gone from a level one to a level three. In math, she's improved as well too. She feels like she can do things better. She is now more confident sounding out words when she's reading. Sylvan has helped her a lot. If your kid struggles at all, you should do Sylvan. We foster and the lady who does our foster care training sent out an email to all the foster parents to let them know to get in touch with Sylvan.

My son is doing two classes in a week with Sylvan which are both reading. We love the teacher. She gives him the work in a very interactive session and very kid-friendly fashion. She gives him games and quizzes him which he loves. That's what he likes more than more traditional style. Whatever she's doing, it keeps him engaged for the 30 minutes. He's doing okay. I have seen some changes in him as far as his reading goes, even with a few classes. He now attempts to try to read a big word so that’s the good part. He used to just assume a word and just skip by.

When my daughter was going to be doing virtual, I thought that she would need a little extra help. We were recommended to Sylvan. She's in kindergarten. She is enjoying it. She enjoys learning. It's been fun and educational. It's a great tool for extra work if needed.

My experience with Sylvan has been A-plus. It is what they said it was going to be. My daughter enjoys it. She's receiving confidence. She really likes her teachers. I'm satisfied. It's expensive, but it's worth it. So far, so good. Everything is so easy and that's what I love about it. They speak to my daughter's teacher. They get updates and they help her with her homework.

Somebody referred Sylvan to us so we went with it. The tutor focused on both math and English, verbal and written and the explanation of the subjects is good. We get more on one on one now and the one-on-one meetings helped. Our child's learning experience and the training itself are good.

We've used Sylvan all the time. But I wish the prices could be a little lower and I can stretch out more time. But other than that, as a parent, I'm improving pretty good. We're doing reading and math and my child's learning has a gradual, solid increase.

I found that Kumon just sat there on their own at a table working through a deck on their own. So, if the tutees got stuck, there wasn't anybody to help. They had to keep figuring it out for themselves. And then if they missed it, they had to go back and figure out what they missed on their own. On the other hand, Sylvan has the one-on-one assistance. If the tutees got hung up, the tutor can tell when they're hung up and ask the questions to help guide them to get them on their own, versus sitting there a half hour on their own and not moving anywhere.

My son is in second grade, but he's on a kindergarten reading level. I'm trying Sylvan out to see if it's gonna help him. I'm really gonna do it for three months to see if I see an improvement in school, and then make my decision whether or not I'm gonna keep it. It's a little expensive, but my child needs it, so that’s why I'm doing it. I'm happy with it for now. It helps him with his homework.

Sylvan is our first tutoring option. Right now, my child focuses on sixth-grade math. Now, she seems to have a better understanding of it. It also boosts her morale a little bit when she does really well with the teachers. It seems like she accomplished something. I would highly recommend Sylvan. They're doing a great job.

My son has been doing Math with Sylvan since August 14 and so far, we are very satisfied with the education. Due to COVID-19, the only semi-concern that I got is that the building is very small and the classes are too close.

We started with Sylvan's reading program right before our school year started and my son loves going. It's been great. He hasn't complained of not wanting to go. He also loves the points and coins and he tells me all the time what he's saving up for. We had to cut back due to sports picking up and I didn't want to overwhelm him with school, tutoring, and sports in one night. And so, we do it on the one night that we don't have anything currently. We don't want him just not to be able to play sports so we're making it all work. He was unable to read from the beginning of the year and now he can. It has overall been amazing -- just from the friendliness of the staff there and their excitement when they see all the kids coming in, and their willingness to work and be patient with all the different levels that they're dealing with. Amongst this COVID crisis we are experiencing, it's been great. We're first grade, so we've got a lot of first-grade friends that have been in the same boat, and I've been recommending Sylvan left and right.

Sylvan had a commercial that I had seen my whole life, so I figured, it had to work. Right now, we're focusing on reading, and then once my child catches up a little bit, we're gonna add in some math. We've seen improvements within the first month. He loves going too.

Under this Covid-19 pandemic, all the learning tools are on Zoom and we don't like that. We needed a service in person, so we chose Sylvan Learning and it's been good. They made a program and Judy is using the iPad to teach my son the program. My son is still ESL level. He's not a native speaker, so we're focusing on basic English reading and writing. Recently, we asked Judy to help with my son’s homework at school and I like that. My son feels good as well. Judy is always telling my son, “Oh, you are great. You are super right now.” and he likes that. There is one thing I would like to ask Sylvan Learning Center to improve though. The teacher is really great, but she's an old lady, so she’s not used to a PC or an iPad. At school now, all the teachers are teaching the materials through an on-demand tool like a PC or an iPad and the children need to learn how to use a PC.

I adopted Cohen and his brother and we were in Tacoma. They had traumatic experiences with homelessness and abuse and the circumstances in Tacoma we're not healthy. The kids were not safe, so we moved to Spokane Valley and Cohen had missed four months of school. I knew he had to get caught up on schooling. He has ADD and ADHD and I couldn't get him to a point where he could achieve what he needed to achieve in order to enter the ninth grade.

Sylvan had modern technology to incorporate the learning experience versus the prior tutoring option didn’t. Everyone is very pleasant and kind. They are working on digraphs, vowels, and helping my son understand that. I would highly recommend it. They were great.

Despite it being a tutor, my children liked to go. They seem more confident. I have seen improvement and continued to be optimistic about helping their reading. So I would recommend it. I really love the director. I find her to be very flexible, especially given this environment. So I don't feel like it's yet another chore for me. She's been really helpful.

They did an assessment when my son first started and they showed me where he was lacking. So I sort of had that idea. It would have been more helpful if they gave me more of an idea from a week to week basis what they're doing with him and how he's progressing, and where he needs to be for his grade level. We only took my son to Sylvan for about five weeks because school started. It was for Writing. We were just trying to get him caught up because of COVID and moving from another state to a new state. So we haven't continued and we're waiting to see how he progress in school. He enjoyed going because of the reward points. I would ask what he did, and he would give me basic information, but he didn't provide any feedback as to whether it was helping him or not. But I wouldn't be hesitant about bringing him back.

I knew of someone using Sylvan. Also, it's local and it's close to our neighborhood. I went over and I had a consultation with a director or manager. I've had to speak with the director a couple of times for clarity and she has been very transparent with me. I’ve been having a great experience with Sylvan and will refer others there. My child is doing Reading and Math there, and he is enjoying it. They are very well-organized and professional.

I enjoy Sylvan. I’ve used them for many years between my two older daughters and now my third daughter. With the oldest one who is now 33, it was mostly study skills. My second one who is now 29, it was mostly reading and study skills also. My 10-year-old is mostly doing reading and math right now. My second daughter was graduating Rapids Public School District back in the early 2000s. She was getting about a D average, and then after two years of Sylvan twice a week, she now has her bachelor's degree from Siena Heights and she just got her dream job as a Michigan CPS worker. So a matter of education and on-the-job experience, she worked her plan and her plan worked. She worked hard for it and Sylvan was a big part of it.

I needed tutoring for school. I'm in nursing school and I needed some help with a little math for my pharmacology class. Sylvan was able to help. I only had about four sessions. That's pretty much all I needed before my calculations test coming up. It went well. I had a guy tutor. He was very helpful, and he showed me the ways. He was showing me how to do certain math problems and everything with the way I learned. He was trying to show me every easy route I could take to solve a problem. He did excellently.

We're using Sylvan for my kid's phonics, and to strengthen his reading and writing skills. With online school, it's hard to gauge because it's been tough all around. We started right before COVID, and he was improving. But during COVID, it's been another ballgame with all of us. He's going back in October. My kid likes the incentives from Sylvan. They've been very accommodating to what we need, and especially during this hard time, as school was out, staying within the guidelines of only meeting with so many kids until they completely shut us down. They allowed us to do that. So, my kid didn't fall so far behind. I'm really very appreciative.

We've been with Sylvan for years now. They've been around for a long time. Currently, my child does two days of reading and then one day of math with them. We’ve only been here a month so the last month, he became a little bit more confident in learning because he was lacking confidence as far as double guessing themselves. So by them learning with him, like testing them, he feels more comfortable answering questions, because he was like, “I know that’s the answer.” I had my first little session with Sylvan a couple of weeks ago and they kept me informed with all the things that he was excelling in and the things that they were still working on. They communicate very well. I like the quality of service we're receiving so far. I'm not really worried about the cost ‘cause I know that my son's education is not going out of the window. Everything's good.

Everything's going great with Sylvan. My daughter is in fourth grade. She tested at Sylvan a couple of months ago at the second and third-grade level. She's come a long way. They do a little bit of reading and they'll do math with her if I ask. There's great communication with Sylvan. They reach out to me all the time.

So far, our experience with Sylvan has been good. They offer flexibility to parents. They've worked with us. Our child focuses on Math and English. They have one-to-one tutoring. They explain things and then they test them on it. That's the format they've been using. Others should try this experience.

Our experience with Sylvan Learning has been nothing but pleasant. My child has been working on nouns, verbs, grammar and cursive. He enjoys it. He likes the tutors and he's had two. He likes them both. When I pick him up, he's smiling and says, "I had fun." It's been 100% wonderful so we're glad we did it.

My daughter's school as well as us were noticing some difficulties she was having and we knew that we needed to look for help. We found one that we thought we could rely on which is Sylvan. They have virtual and in-class learning that she would do from Monday to Thursday. She does math and reading and her experience is good. I didn’t get but one or two updates though. Because of the pandemic, I guess they couldn’t really test the kids as much. But she seems to show improvement so it really helps. The only issue that I had with them was it’s a little expensive. But it's worth it and they do work with you when it comes to payments. I would definitely recommend it for any students or tutoring for kids that are falling behind or maybe just need a little help.

Sylvan Learning was the first company that I came across online. I looked at their reviews and they are pretty good so I went with them instead of calling around and trying to price check. It's going pretty good with them. For my daughter who's in fourth grade, she doing mostly reading and math if needed. For my son, he's in first grade and he's doing math. The tutors are great. My kids are interact pretty well with them especially with them seeing them virtually.

My daughter is doing first grade reading and literacy with Sylvan. This is just our second month but she does enjoy going so that's great. She wants to be there. She's slowly learning and building confidence. Sylvan is not the most affordable but your kid's education is worth it. We love Sylvan. They're personable and their teachers have lots of good energy and welcoming so it makes the transition easy.

My son was with Sylvan for the subjects Math and Reading. They helped him with his self-esteem. He had been out of school for a couple of years. And although Sylvan was very expensive, it was wonderful and they did a great job. Those who could afford it should go.

Josh was the guy who did our intake and he made me feel comfortable. And so we went to Sylvan even though it was a little bit more expensive. My son really liked Josh and he loves going to the center. That was really was the most important. I was gonna get a place where he would achieve. My son mostly has the reading subject. He tested all the way back in kindergarten and he's in the second grade. During the summer I was bringing him four days a week. Now, I have him down to three days a week since school started back up.

We had looked at a couple of other local tutoring options and Sylvan had the most flexibility. We're doing math and reading comprehension with them. My children have gotten a lot more confident in the subject and they have definitely made progress. They're doing a lot better in school. They look forward to going. It's been an excellent experience for both myself and my children. They've really enjoyed going and all the tutors have been very helpful.

My son has improved in his willingness in wanting to read since he started with Sylvan.

We got a tutor for Reading and we’re still working on comprehension. But we're halfway through. We’ve done about 30 hours out of the 50 that was requested. So far, we've seen slight improvement. It's been helpful especially due to the issues with COVID, keeping my daughter engaged while she's not actively in school.

They answered my emails and my request faster than the others. We have them for Reading and Writing and I like their personalized approach. I like that they are testing each kid and they are building the learning plan according to each kid's needs, not necessarily related to their grades or their age but their actual knowledge level. For now, I'm really satisfied. I sent the report and we had one to one conferences with the director from the center. We're waiting for the school year to start and get an idea of the progress she's been making.

My son has a great teacher. He really likes her. He doesn't mind going, which is excellent. She's very good with engaging him and talking to him. Things are going good for him right now. I like that they check his progress. They re-check him every month and I get a progress report. So that's always good feedback.

When COVID hit, we were worried my child was gonna get behind. I had always heard good things about Sylvan Learning. I had used them in the past and always had good results. My child is enjoying himself, his marks are staying well, if there's no problem, because I stay very busy. Once in a while, it'd be nice to learn something. Besides that, everything has been great.

We had private tutors before but Sylvan was more structured and more organized. It worked better for an individual. We have them for Math and English. The tutor was able to improve my son's knowledge and gave him skills in both subjects, like figuring things out. His reading and comprehension improved. Even when we went to remote, because we couldn't leave the house, I was shocked how he thrived with that. They were very engaging. The teachers are amazing. I love them. I noticed when he didn't get something, they were so patient and they would think of another way to bring it around for him. They definitely know what they're doing. I would definitely recommend Sylvan. It's worth it.

The tutor from Sylvan focused on reading comprehension with my child. It's been recent and he hasn't got an assessment but my son likes the learning experience and he loves the points. He says he enjoys being there and he likes that it's using an iPad. I love Sylvan. There's always communication with them and they try to help me and my son. It’s a great place.

We're fairly new at Sylvan. My child does reading through them. So far, so good. It's a good tutoring program where it's one-on-three, one tutor with three kids at max, and I like that personal attention. So even though I'm fairly new, I'm assuming that that's gonna be more effective than a tutor with 20 kids.

We've been very pleased with Sylvan. Our granddaughter has been showing some progress. We're still deciding what we're gonna do about school this year. But we may be leaning on to Sylvan to help us through the school year here. I have four older children and two of them had learning disabilities when they were young. We found Sylvan 30 years ago on our own and we were very happy with the results there. My son went from special ed and now he's got a PhD in chemical engineering. So they helped him on the right path. From our experience, having that one-on-one with your teacher was very, very helpful. It was kind of interesting to me that it was Sylvan who identified my older kids' learning disabilities. They were able to test my oldest daughter and they said she's textbook dyslexic, and the same with my son. They were able to help him learn how to work within his disability.

I called Sylvan to enroll and then they scheduled. I had to pay for a evaluation test. Once my son was evaluated, they put him to a program. It was pretty simple and easy, but you have to put a lot of money upfront because the test was about $50. It was kind of expensive. Dedicating yourself to the program was a little tough to do, but we're happy that we did it now. My son has better reading skills now.

Everything with Sylvan is going great. My child is doing reading with them. They kinda went through the Sylvan program, the one task at a time, and then my daughter would start doing these things more independently and would wanna go get a book and read it on her own. It's very expensive though. But this is our second time around, so it wasn't so expensive that we thought it was a bad deal.

We got them for reading and comprehension. They made it interesting for the kids. They made it fun. It was something that they look forward to every day. One of my sons never looks forward to school. So I knew that they were doing some interaction. Getting points allowed me to teach saving and some finances to my sons. Because at first, they were getting it and they was just spending it every day. So it allowed me to kinda talk to them about how to save. They showed what they really wanted and I told them how much it cost, how much they would have to save, and how many sessions they have to go through the payment. So it allowed them to set a goal.

I thought sending my child to Sylvan would make a difference but it didn't, her school was trying to place her as a special ed student saying she was behind. I decided to give Sylvan a chance. I was told based off the testing they did she wasnt behind like the school said she was also that they would be able to get her up to her grade reading level etc. I was still dealing with meeting and things with the school so once they did the final assessment at the school she was still behind.

My son, William, went to Huntington. When we moved out of state, we decided to try Sylvan with him. So, when my granddaughter was having difficulties, we decided to put her in Sylvan too. When I got her, she was seven years old and she couldn't read or write. Sylvan mainly focused on reading in the beginning. In the beginning, especially over summertime, she didn't wanna go as much as she did. She didn't like the structure ‘cause she’d never been used to it. She had to go four days a week, two hours a day. Kids need to be prepared for structure to learn good study habits and that's what Sylvan gives you. I had a niece that went to college. If she had some kind of a program like this, it would’ve been easier for her to transition from high school to college.

My son is in college test prep with Sylvan Learning Center. We went with them due to proximity and price. It was also during COVID and all the other weird stuff, but I was very impressed with them following up and answering all my questions thoroughly and not getting frustrated 'cause I was trying to ask three million things. My son thinks that they've been fine and we are doing another follow-up ACT. The testing center has done a good job of keeping us informed and giving us feedback.

I did an organic search and when I found Sylvan, I knew right where they were at. It was close. There are some other options in the area. Then, I called and spoke with them and Sylvan offered services that were gonna work with me and my daughter. They did an evaluation and I wanted Math to be the main focus for her. That is what she's currently being tutored on. She loves it, which is a really good thing because that's not a subject that she usually enjoys. She's about a grade level and a half behind, and they've projected a path for her with the sessions required to get her up to grade level. She's been going since the first week of July. We've been doing really well and we just had her progress report and a lot of good feedback.

I know several young people that have gone to Sylvan and they're straight-A students. So Sylvan, as far as I've learned, is that they're very successful in their endeavor to educate the students and to get them where they need to be. The enrollment process went very well. When I first called, I needed to get some information and they took the time to explain to me what Sylvan was all about, and what the cost was gonna be and all that. They also gave me the date for the assessment and everything went well. They're doing an awesome job and I'm just so happy that I am able to enroll my child within the learning experience because it's such a blessing. I've noticed the difference in his reading, confidence, and the way he's carrying himself. He's changing for the better.

I read the reviews that were posted online and upon Sylvan's great reviews, I went with it. My daughter does reading through them. She has more confidence now reading, and she’s more eager to learn new things about reading. Before she started, she really didn't like anything about reading, but she loves to go now and she really enjoys it. The tutors are great. I love them. The program is very expensive though. But I know anything worth paying for is great for you. I would most definitely recommend Sylvan for a friend's child.

My wife had a son that was diagnosed with a mental disorder and we were able to get the support we needed through Sylvan. So we went back to them. My granddaughter is now going there. She really enjoys it. She enjoys her teachers. I was at first concerned about the COVID-19 stuff and making sure that my kids are gonna be safe there. So everybody wears masks which is good. I'm getting what we paid. They assessed what my granddaughter needs are, and so far, I've been getting just that. I can see that in her interaction with me that she is learning and she's maintaining information that she got when she left school for the summer. Because that was what I wanted to make sure she was able to do.
