When it was time for me to graduate (2007), I paid my graduation fees and never received my diploma. When I inquired about this, Strayer had the nerve to send me a bill stating that I still owed them money that I did not. Stay away from this school!

I found out too late that businesses do not recognize this school. They have now combined with another school to stay in business. They should be discredited and closed. I attended this school around 2008 but did not finish. I felt it was not necessary to get my MBA from this school due to the fact the lack of respect throughout the business community in Columbia SC.

So how Strayer works is that I attended this college not to build for a future career. I have a career. I attended 4 years of culinary school and got my degree. I am a 5 star world renowned Private Chef. The school accepted grants and loans to cover my classes. When hurricane Ian hit Florida and I was severely impacted what I was told was that they don't care what I lost or went thru and dropped my classes and had the nerve to charge me the same amount that they got from the federal government. This is fraud. If you experienced this step up and do something about it. Don't attended this college. They are scam artists and they commit fraud.

I attended Strayer for 3 years only to realize that I wasn’t really learning anything. They don’t care about you when it comes to your education and they don’t really teach you anything that is relevant to your course of study. They are money hungry and don’t care about you actually getting an education.

I graduate from Strayer University at the end of this month. My degree will be my scarlet letter of shame for falling for a scam. I know most of you may be thinking “Wow, congratulations!” or “What an accomplishment!” but honestly I am ashamed and embarrassed. I have wasted my time and money on a scam. Strayer University has stolen thousands of dollars from me and many others. Throughout my time at Strayer, I was taken advantage of and did not receive the quality of education that was promised to me. Despite completing my coursework with all A’s and preparing to graduate soon, I have learned very little. It is particularly concerning that I was directed to watch videos on LinkedIn by my professors instead of receiving proper instruction. These videos are from LinkedIn Learning and cost $19.99/mo.
The cost of each class at Strayer: $1525. I was enrolled in three classes per semester. A semester is 11 weeks, so let’s just roll that up to three months. Three months of LinkedIn learning would cost me $60. I instead paid Strayer $4575 plus fees each semester I attended. I’m no genius (and to be honest Math is my worst subject) but the Math ain’t mathin’. Unfortunately, this situation has resulted in significant financial expense and a waste of my time completing assignments that I could have completed independently by watching the videos on LinkedIn. Furthermore, this experience has caused me emotional stress, as I have had to balance my studies while working a full-time job and several part-time jobs to cover the extreme cost of attending this university.
If you are considering attending Strayer University, I urge you to reconsider. There are many other, more reputable universities that will offer you a better education and a better value for your money. I am sharing my story in the hopes that it will help others avoid the same mistake I made. Strayer University is a scam, and I want to do everything I can to warn others about it.

I have transfer from Capella hoping this Strayer university would be better but the grass is not greener on the other side. The professors don’t teach you, they give you a lot of unnecessary readings so you could teach yourself. I did not pay thousands of dollars to teach myself, if so then I wouldn’t be here. For one, I am a visual learner. Reading words don’t always work for me and the professor doesn’t care about visual learning. She just states that she provided videos from other people’s work and expect us to know how to do the assignments. Ridiculous. Unfortunately this is all across Strayer’s courses. I wish I could get a refund. If I have seen these reviews ahead of time I would have not come here. Yes! I do read the provided materials but if you cannot teach something to its simplest form then that doesn’t make you a very good professor.

Before you decide to attend Strayer University, I want you to keep in mind that "some" professors have zero tolerance against people with learning disabilities. I'm on my second year and I haven't had any problems until now. I suffer from multiple disabilities and a learning disability is one of the major ones and this class I'm in now could care less about my disabilities. I have a hard time learning and it takes extra time for me to fully understand things. I submitted a assignment and I truly didn't completely understand it. They refused to give me a second chance to try and raise my grade.
For years I suffer from depression and anxiety and it just seems that some professors are just rude bullies that's just out to make a dollar and could care less about you and your grades and or what you are going through in life. They refuse to give you a second chance on assignments. Not everyone is smart and perfect like they are. It's truly a shame how some of these professors are allowed to treat their students. Strayer University is a truly amazing university. Just please keep in mind not every class is going to be great.

Good Evening, Mrs. ** or to whom it may concern. I'm a graduate student at Strayer University. For the past year or year and a half we have been force to take classes online due to COVID. Now going into year two things in the DMV area and other states have opened back. Strayer has even allowed their faculty to return to work. Our children from elementary school to High school has free education. The school board set a date for all students to return to school and we as parents had to go with it and what restrictions are being put in place. Even the CDC stated we don't have to wear mask anymore and the Federal government open its doors. I would like to discuss when will we get to be notified on when will classes be returning.
I know I'm not the only one that has raised this issue of when the class will be back on campus. I would like to have some type of answer because I have children just like the Majority of the students and staff. Our children have been in school for 2 years and the parents do not have a say. Strayer needs to take in the account that every student learns different. I pay for my education and I did not get any choice to how I get to handle my education. Now the CDC stated no more mask or Quarantine mandates. Even the Federal Government is back open.
Again I pay for my education and don't get a choice or any type of correspondence on how long class will not be on campus. But it is ok for the staff member to go to work but I pay for my education and I didn't get a choice or any type of option and before you say tutoring the tutoring is not face to face. I have to leave a message explaining my situation or problems then wait for some to get back to me. I need answer. I'm entitled to some answer. I pay for my education. If the President and Vice President of Strayer University doesn't feel the need to answer students maybe they will answer the news media? Octavius ** Student

Everyone is complaining about Strayer. Do your research on your fasa, see if you have enough funding before you attend any school. It's up to you to make sure you do. I myself have no problems with them, they were very transparent about everything not like the college before I got into Strayer. They said I had no funds from fasa which I did. Mind you, this was a community college only 20 minutes from my town. They were less transparent and the job thing, it's up to you to find a job, not them.

I could have went to another school and Received the degree I wanted. Now stuck with over 50k in student loans with no job in HR.

Where do I start. So I was in enrolled in University of Phoenix this year 2021 and I decided to go with another school which would be Strayer University because their classes in the field that I am studying started a little bit later which fit my schedule. I was approved for the fast one and I was approved for my program. My understanding was after registration that all I would need to do was to change the school code of my approvals and that everything will go through fine. Needless to say that did not happen. Literally my classes got paid for my Pell Grant got withheld. When I spoke to Fafsa they stated that all they had to do in the first place was override instead of making additional transactions to make me not eligible. I literally been working on this for two months.
Needless to say the school got paid for my classes but they’re making no effort to fix the mistakes that they are representatives and their financial aid me to make me an eligible for submitting my information when hello I have already been approved this year and you guys kept putting in PJ forms which made me an eligible. This is absolutely the worst experience ever. I wish I would’ve just stayed at University of Phoenix. I never knew that this would be so hard. I literally am talking to financial aid and phosphor and the dean and I still have yet to get a resolution to this problem. If they think that I’m going to school and not get what’s granted to me then they’re crazy because therefore I mean withdrawing at this point will be the logical thing to do because I will be crazy. The incompetency of the student financial aid to pay for classes and not get my pell grant that I was already eligible for three times guys. Three times and you’re still sending in PJ.
It is just almost like they do not comprehend the process of financial aid or even just transferring from one school to the next so would’ve been different if I had to apply for all of these things when I got to their school but it was already apply for approved by Fafsa and so I’m not understanding but I definitely would advise anyone thinking about going to the school to make sure you get all the information you need because she may just be paying the school to go to their school and not even be able to go for your pell grant because their financial aid department is illiterate. I filled a complaint with student financial aid dept at this time.

In the beginning, it was all good. The classes were great. But there are several problems. I am pre-registered for classes. I should be able to choose what classes that I want to take and when. I requested that my counselor stop that, and she did it again. Then, you are forced to have a "discussion" with classmates. I just want to do my work and be done with it. I am not there to make friends. Half of the students do a copy and paste from other sites. They tell you, that you are to use correct grammar, however, most of the students don't. They spring these huge assignments on you, then tell you that you had two weeks to prepare when I made a complaint twice in weeks 2 and 3 that I couldn't view the assignment. The lectures are either from a year ago or close to a year ago.
I think they need to change their strategy when it comes to teaching. I am paying over 3k every 11 weeks (my price actually went up this year, for what I don't know. They didn't even inform anybody of the price increase). I am not rich. I cannot afford to fail this school, but it's beginning to look like they don't actually care. They just want money.

DO NOT FALL FOR THEIR TRICKS!!!! They are real nice when you are signing up and very responsive for your first semester. After that, they screw everything up. I am a veteran and had the Pell Grant to cover expenses and they still tried to say I had past due balances for tuition and books. When I tried to get this resolved, they drag their feet so that I could just be academically withdrawn and owe more money. When I tried to appeal, again dragging their feet so they didn't have to do anything. Now there is a collections account but no one wants to communicate to get it resolved. It took nearly 2 years to get resolved. My husband has a worse situation happening. Absolute nightmare.

I have been going to Strayer for a long time. I went for my Bachelor's, which to be honest was a fantastic experience from start to finish. Then I decided to go directly into my MBA immediately after graduating my Bachelor's. All of a sudden, the Admin help went away completely. They messed up my financial aid every single term. I could never get a phone call past the first semester from anyone. Not about grades, financial aid, registration, technical difficulties, nothing. Everything was done by email and I had to include everyone possible and be rude just to get a response.
One of the terms, they just simply told me that I did not have enough financial aid and they could not help me, I had to pay. I know for a fact I was still eligible so I resubmitted my FAFSA and let the submission get processed automatically without contacting them, then all of a sudden I had a full term of financial aid available. I can't even update my address and phone number without it being a problem. They STILL have some of the wrong information for me that I can't get fixed. The classes and teachers are actually great, but they overcharge and will not actually assist you with any Strayer specific issues. Go somewhere else, do not take your graduate classes here.

THE worst decision you can make for your post secondary education. That is ESPECIALLY if you are paying out of pocket. There are more respected online schools out there that cost less and give you a higher quality education and learning experience. Please do your research! I wish I had done better. Strayer only wants your money. They do NOT care about the student. The admissions office staff are all so kind and that is where it ends. The Business deans' hands are always tied. There is never anything they can do to help you but of course they are all so sorry for your experience.
The instructors reply to your well thought out discussion posts and essays with general pre recorded videos that offer no real constructive criticism. Getting a hold of an instructor is nothing short of a miracle. Calling or emailing your success coach is futile. I waited literally 3 hours, no exaggeration to speak my coach and ended up getting someone I didn't even know. But guess who you can always get in touch with? Finance Department is always available to take your money. Do your research! You can do better than greedy money grubbing Strayer.

Those two names I have mentioned above, are the people that I dealt with. I don't know how people can actually promise to help you and do not keep their promise. You pay money for your education and you do not learn anything let alone getting some help to pass your classes. I should have known that Strayer is one of those schools that finance matters instead of teaching students. I should have done my research before registering though. Thank you Strayer. Lesson learned.

I absolutely recommend Strayer University to anyone aspiring to a degree. I am a current student. I've been with Strayer for 2 years, now and a President's list member. My favorite aspect is the classroom. It's catered to recent events, interactive content, and innovative instruction. The Strayer Stories are so great! They star celebrities such as Queen Latifah and Mannie Fresh, as well as local heroes. Communication is top of the line and honestly, as long as you try your best, complete your work, and don't have a sense of entitlement, you are going to go far with Strayer University.
After I complete my Bachelor's degree in Business Leadership and entrepreneurship, I'm definitely continuing on to obtain my Master's degree. One more thing before I go, the Leadership courses and programs have changed my life! The Joe Gibbs Performance management program and Finding Your Leadership Purpose are incredible. Don't take my word for it, call to set up an appointment with a coach today! You won't regret it.

I completed my bachelors and masters degrees with Strayer. I took all but two classes online while working full time and raising my three kids. Strayer was so convenient and I had no issues with my financial aide, notably at the end of my bachelors I ran out of aide and was offered assistance that I was not aware of by my counselor. I had support from my instructors whenever I needed. I’d recommend Strayer to work adults hands down.

The truth of the matter is this school has POTENTIAL! While most are fussing about their financial aid & the ones who rave so they’re fussing about the refund, “I” can personally tell you that aside from the “REFUND” side of this, they all are telling the truth. I entered this college without properly researching it & I have my concerns!
1.) There is always some type of “glitch” going on. Even in the actual blackboard where you do the work at. You have to go into different browsers just to be able to complete the work. Their glitches & IT issues are frustrating. People are saying it’s the refund, but it’s more of them not addressing the issues & leaving their students hanging not knowing if they classes will be paid for.
2.) If you’re thinking you’re gonna get genuine feedback from your Professors, you will NOT. They do prepaid videos & just attach them to your work. If you reach out via email to them, you’ll probably rarely actually get them. You’re more than likely to receive a vague response by their teaching assistants.
3.) When you’re enrolling, you’ll hear from them every single day. Once you’re an official student, you won’t receive a response. The Success Coaches are almost nonexistent & your Dean only reaches out to you the beginning of school, midterm week & when the semester is over.
4.) The tuition here is quite high. I didn’t know this until AFTER I was enrolled & a few weeks had passed in the first semester.
5.) Little to no schools will allow Strayer’s credits to be transferred. What does that tell you?
6.) On a good note, you’ll have a forum where you can build some great connections with others. It’s refreshing.
7.) There really are some very enjoyable classes. I didn’t say them all, but there are classes & Professors I would never be mad about having over & over. They keep in contact even after you leave their class.
8.) Students sometimes want to enter because Strayer offers a free laptop. The deal about this, is something that is posted. The laptop is yours only AFTER you finish 3 terms with them. You’ll have to send it back or pay full price should you decide you don’t want to continue after the first or second term. That’s no more than right.
If Strayer would keep a genuine line of communication open, fixed their “glitches” & make their Professors actually TELL you in real time things & not send pre-made videos explaining absolutely nothing, the school would actually be an decent school. Also, if you could actually get a recognizable degree in the cooperate world, that would be even better. It’s one of those “is it worth it to YOU” types of situations. If you’re ok with the few slight cons mentioned, I’d say go for it.

Strayer is a joke, me and my daughter attended the same year 2016. Let me start by saying my daughter was going for social worker, so I question the success coach man name Scott. He said yes Strayer specialize in that degree. Here it is 2020. I realize why he taking so many business class and not nothing to do with social worker. So one of the success coaches stated that they never had classes there for that. I e-mailed the man that use to be the dean at Lithonia campus. He ask for the name. Said he was going contact me back and look into the case. Never did. It's been 6 months now.
Another part to this story Strayer have pulled my 2017 tax information. Claimed something was missing, I been going back and forward from the IRS to my tax people. They said it's Strayer. They don't know what they are doing. Even IRS question it. So my daughter financial aid they claim she can't get until we continue to bring the same documents they have have took a million time up there. Every time I take one thing it's another one. I feel this school shouldn't even be in business, they pull the same thing with me, because they didn't want to pay the grad fund and my daughter suppose to be getting grad fund this semester. So I am fed up with them. I am transferring my daughter and will find a lawyer if I find out they took money from her financial aid, its something they are covering up.

They have now began to make false accusations saying I owe them money for courses. I wasn't even working at the time and wasn't receiving support from family so I couldn't even qualify for a loan. Plus my two courses I took there wasn't even 2500 for the semester which was why my disbursement amount was only 400 dollars after they charged me 600 for that cheap ** Dell computer which they said would be free in the beginning.
