I placed a change of address on line in November 2007. I was not receiving mail the entire month of December 2007. I put in several complaints to the central office as well as the branch itself. I was given claim numbers for each call and told it would be looked at. I slowly received some mail but not all. I never received Christmas packages. I do not receive all my bills and have been charged late charges to all my utility and credit cards. I am constantly having to call up companies to keep tack of my accounts. Every time I approach my mail carriers, they tell me that they are a "temp". I also receive everyone's mail in the building. I am at 2f and receiving mail for 1F , 1R, etc. I have also reported this to the branch, but it still happens. I am concerned that if I am getting other people's mail then someone could be getting mine.
I have had over $200 in late fees since November 2007. Every month I need to spend time out of my work day having to straighten out my bills with a companies including utilities. All my Christmas packages have disappeared. I spend my time putting the mail for other people in the correct address.

I have lived in this area for twenty years. Customer service in this office needs to be addressed. On Friday February 26th, I received a slip for a parcel . Went to the post office on Monday and was there for one half hour waiting just to be told that my package had to be located. I waited all day and did not receive my package until after 4:30 pm. This has been going on for a while now and it is getting out of hand. When the regular mail person is out whomever puts my mail between my doors instead of in my mail slot. Now, I receive a lot of mail because of working at home as well as medication that is received. Postal workers has a code of honor by in the days.
I suffered a headache half the day and waiting time not knowing.

I don't even know where to start...complaints have been made, and still nothing is done. This is a government/federal post office. My understanding is there are set hours of operation and a job description that is to be followed. How many complaints does it take for someone to do something? BOTH individuals are very selective of who gets what, and when they get it. They close the window when THEY feel its necessary. The most recent incident involved Ida Jack, on Saturday at 3:30. I pulled up to check mail, and Ida said it was closed. She had the doors locked and was mopping while Alberta Meyer was in there talking away--turning people away during business hours, refusing to do money orders, or get stamps or boxes for people. They both have people that are not employees back there helping sort mail, and first class mail is never a priority; we get junk mail first--and to have things postmarked a week before it gets to our box when we have planes? I want the names of people who can do something about this!
FIRE THEM! WE NEED PEOPLE IN THERE WE CAN TRUST AND WHO ARE GOING TO DO THEIR JOB RIGHT AND FAIRLY!

The Postal service has deteriorated to the point of uselessness. I conduct quite a lot of business on eBay and the USPS track record is horrendous. Last year I sent, via Priority Mail, a package to a customer in California. They never got it, and of course I had to refund their money. At least a dozen calls to USPS produced nothing but surly clerks who could have cared less, and told me it was not in the system.
That package finally arrived at its destination EIGHT MONTHS LATER. It had been postmarked all over the East Coast. Of eighteen packages I sent in December of 2007, FOUR were lost and never seen again, with me having to refund all monies. In addition, our letter carrier is a mean and rude man who has made me change the height of my mailbox three times...too low, too high, etc. UNREAL! Each time I MEASURED its height and it was EXACTLY as USPS wants it. I now use FedEX and UPS with NO problems.
Loss of customer goodwill and satisfaction, loss of over 600 dollars in sales, endless trips to post office, etc. Negative feedback on eBay.

Ever since October of last year I have not been receiving all of my mail, including 2 rebate checks that Kelloggs has sent out to me. They have sent out the check two different times. My Qwest bill was double for one month because I did not get my mail, and today my neighbor brings my mail. That is where a dope house is, and a lot of people hang out there; that is the 2nd time she gave me my mail. I have talked to supervisor of 80205 delivery station (Frank), and he tells me that nothing can be done about it because people make mistakes. So I called the post master general's office, and they tell me to go the consumer affairs. I cannot be paying for a post office box when I know that it is the post office that is the problem. So I am hoeing that you can help in some kind of way. But in the mean time I will be searching to see who I can get to help.
I lost two checks and a late payment of my telephone bill and maybe even more mail that I have not received. The dope house brought me my credit card in the envelope that they may not even have known what was in it.

I dread going to my local post office to mail packages or to purchase stamps. The line is always long no matter what time of day I go there. The employees are very robotic, slow, grumpy and rude. The last time I stood in line for 15 min., then the clerk goes on break or something and disappears from the counter leaving a long line of customers with only one attendant. There was an automated machine installed in the lobby, and I used it frequently. (It was fast, convenient, user friendly and I liked it!) Now I was informed that it was removed! I was told it wasn't needed! I now travel 10 miles to the next little town to use their postal services. I'd rather spend the gas and time driving 10 miles than have to confront the disgruntled employees in my local PO! Can't they be fired for lack of people skills? Thanks for listening!

I cannot get my mail delivered to my home, even though I moved my mailbox as my mailman requested. Now he wants me to put it back where it was! The mailman's claim is that it is too hard to get to, yet my mailbox is easier to access than any other on my side of the street. My roommate has gotten some, but not all, mail in the box at its present location, yet I have had to go to the main office clear across town to get any and all of mine. I have already spoken to the mailman's supervisor and also a clerk at different visits, yet nothing appears to have been done. It has been over a week now, about 10 days. They keep telling me they will call me, but as of yet there has been no contact of any kind.
I have to drive across town to get the mail, some of which contains bills, movie rental returns, or other time-sensitive material. It's also an inconvenience due to time involved and gas expense.

Our business as well as others in our local area have very late or no mail delivery, when our regular mailman is on vacation. I have reported this to the local post office listed above; but despite assurances of delivery, the mail does not arrive. An employee of our company has to drive the mail to a mail box in another town or drive to the post office to get the mail, which may or may not be there. I have looked on the USPS web site for a place to complain, but there is no form or place to register a complaint against a local office. The only recourse provided is to complain to the local post office; however, most of the employees there cover for each other.
Our cash flow is severely disrupted when anticipated checks do not arrive and also when our payments are not sent out.

I sent out two express packages on Feb. 9th, one of 20lbs and the other 10lbs, however I was sending them both to St. Thomas VI, one at 00802 and the other at 00803. However, I was promised that they would both arrive at Feb. 11th. One package was sent and deliver and this package was not insured but I also sent a laptop which was insured that hasn't reach to the destination and when I tracked it on the 11th it was saying that it was accepted at the location I sent it from. Up until today which is Feb. 20th, it still hasn't reached.
When I called the Post office and told them the package was not delivered I was told that it was in customs in PR and might of been held up. Then I was referred to the Expedite office over in Newark, NJ. They also told me that it might be held up in customs. There is a lady there working with me and she sent me papers but it seemed like everywhere she called they are not getting back to her so I'm not getting any answers. I however, filed a claim today and they still trying to tell me that it might be recovered and the post office has different carrier, fed ex, and outside commercial flights so they don't know who could've taken it. I don't understand why they telling me this because it is their responsibilities to have their workers handling mails. They also try to tell me Fed ex employees got arrested for stealing packages but what's going on with the usps employees for stuff thats missing. I'm mentally stressed because of this. I'm here crying as I'm writing this complaint.

Lots of us have called the post office to complain and all we are told is, "I'll talk to him" and we are back to square one. I think that it is very unfair for me to go out and remove my trash cans only to have the mail carrier not deliver my mail because my neighbor's trash can was sitting near the mail box. Our neighborhood has not had any delivery of mail in almost a week. The last delivery of mail was on Wednesday February 13, 2008 and today is Tuesday February 19th. I called our local post office to inquire about the reason why there hasn't been any delivery and was treated rudely. They claim that the delivery truck was unable to drive up to the mailboxes due to snow and ice. However I was able to walk and drive my car directly up to my mailbox and check on the mail delivery everyday as well as place outgoing mail into my mailbox. The road in front of the mailboxes has been clear since last Thursday (2/14) afternoon. I was also told that our mail carrier doesn't work on Saturdays! Additionally, our mail doesn't get delivered in a timely manner on a regular basis. Often times we don't get delivery of mail until after 5:30pm or 6:00pm in the evening. When I asked if it was possible to come by and pick my mail up directly at the post office on Tuesday morning, I was told no and that it was on the truck already and there was nothing I could do.
I have been waiting for important travel information to arrive that had been mailed out last week and expected to receive it prior to me leaving on a trip for 6 days. I was never able to receive the information and now must travel without it making it very difficult. Also I as well as many neighbors have out going mail which has been sitting in our mailboxes for almost a week that will not get delivered in a timely manner due to the poor delivery service of our local post office.

I am some what hard of hearing and 69 years old, so I asked him to repeat what he said, and again he said something about the way I was standing, and then said what do you want? I said that I wanted to mail a small box (about 6 oz. and maybe 5x4x2 in high) and I also needed a stamped envelope. He looked at the box and said that He could not mail it with scotch tape applied to it, and that I would have to buy some tape that was on the wall for $3.29 or so. I have mailed many many small boxes with scotch tape on them and was assured by the postmaster here in Brinnon, Wa. that it was perfectly O.K. to do so. As I needed to get it mailed I did not argue but bought the tape on the wall and sent it. I can state without reservation that the man who waited on me was a genuine jerk and harassed me into buying something that I did not need. He is a Korean, but so is my Wife so any mention of racism would be ridiculous.

The WORST service ever for 3 yrs. plus. Packages rarely delivered, as the postal carrier does NOT even bother to ring the door bell to see if I am even home. He just sticks the pink slip in the door, which forces me to either drive clear to the other side of town to pick up packages unnecessarily- or be forced to wait all day for packages to be delivered that require a signature. If I call to reschedule a delivery, more often than not the package is NOT even delivered AGAIN- which happened to me today for a package that was supposed to be delivered last SATURDAY! Now I have to sit around and wait for it AGAIN tomorrow!! The manager of the Newhall, CA USPS called me today and was not at all sympathetic- or displaying an attitude conducive to correcting these problems.
My mail is constantly jammed in my mailbox with smaller packages, and half the time I can't get it open! I was told that it is not the USPS policy to deliver the smaller packages at the front door, which is insane and that the only way I can avoid having my mailbox jammed shut, is to drive to the other side of town every day to pick up my mail personally. The USPS tells me repeatedly that they have received no packages for me and that the tracking numbers provided by the merchants are not valid USPS numbers. In addition, the merchants will not refund my money or re-ship my merchandise. I have used these particular merchants for numerous years, without incident. However, I have had great difficulty receiving my mail at this current address for the entire year that I have lived here. There have been other packages lost, in the past, and many items returned to sender and marked as incorrect address.

The street was also wet from melting snow. Package was soaked. I've complained so many times but there is NOTHING that can be done short of privatizing the USPS. No matter how badly they do their jobs, they still get payed, which defies all logic. One postmaster even admitted that they can't fire certain employees if they are veterans. These tend to be the most abusive employees.

Mail delivery was very sparse or NON-EXISTENT for the week January 28-February 2, 2008 at zip code 28904 for one mail carrier's route. For 28, 29 and 30 of January the delivery was very sparse to say the least (meaning my delivery consisted of 1 humana catalog, one small supermarket flyer and one packet.) 31 January and 1 February we had NO MAIL DELIVERY AT ALL. On February 2, Saturday, the mail was delivered sometimes during the night and consisted of 1 income tax statement which was of course of importance, and it said it right on the envelope. This neighborhood is outraged. There are many elderly or blind people living here, but also business people. I think it is against the law to hold mail for days and not to deliver it.
Many people, including myself either called or went to the post office. The supervisor was never available. The excuse from the clerks always was that the regular mail carrier is on vacation for the week. I spoke to the substitute carrier on Wednesday, January 30 at 7:30 at night (that's when she delivered the mail) and she stated that the route is just to big for one substitute. HOW ABOUT DIVIDING THE ROUTE IN HALF AND USEING 2 SUBS? I did not get any personal mail, 3 weekly newspapers, no advertisement... NOTHING! This is an ONGOING issue here, and we are all worried with the summer month up on us and all workers using up their vacation. I do not blame the workers, but feel it is the supervisors responsibility to make sure the mail delivery takes place six days a week at a reasonable time (not during the night on Saturday).

Nearly every time we have a substitute letter carrier, he/she does not pick up our outgoing mail! This is an office, and we generate a fairly large amount of outgoing mail every day. When delivering to an office, does it not occur to them to ask if we have outgoing mail? Afterwards, our regular carrier implied that the substitute didn't pick up the mail because it would have slowed him down, and he wanted to look fast to his supervisors. Not picking up a business's mail is just unacceptable. We called the local Post Office at 4 pm to let them know no one had come to pick up our mail and they promised someone would be by before 5. I called them again the next day for an update only for them to tell me the boxes I used were used ones. I told them I bought them brand new in the UK and they told me that because I did not pack them in front of them in their depot that they were used boxes therefore the claim was being denied.
I called back again the next day only to be told that there was insufficient padding around the inside of my boxes now this really baffled me because all the boxes were empty when the inspector viewed them and I called them back yet again only to be told they were not sealed properly when they left the UK. I had sealed each box with a full roll of packaging tape but when my boxes arrived at my home in the states they were sealed with ordinary clear tape I called them back again only to be told because i did not have any insurance on my goods i was not entitled to anything. The point is whether I had insurance or not it does not give then carte blanche to smash up my property. I called then back again only to be told this time I would only get $100 for all the damages. Again I called them and they told me that it was not their fault but it was the fault of the company who contracted them to deliver my goods. I contacted the company and they are saying it is not their fault as the boxes were in perfect condition when they left their depot. I have had enough of their lies and as such should be brought to justice.

We went to Hartford post office and they also told they don't have any idea other than they know it is just shipped. This continued for so many days and customer service gave me more than 10 reference numbers for my complaints. We went to psot office personally to meet the guys there. They didn't even bothered to check what happened to the item. Finally this is 21st day and I am going to claim for insurance. Hoping to get at least that. I went through a lot of pain as it was a brand new laptop. How frustrating.

I have used the USPS for a year or so and ship on the average of 15-20 items a week. The month of December (and other times, too) I have had a total of 3 items lost. Believe it or not, I have customers still waiting for their packages. I got a reply from the Denver Bulk Mail Center that they found part of my label laying on the floor. (I use permanent self-adhering labels and also tape them on with packing tape.) They sent me the sent address and the return address part of the label to verify they found it. They also included paperwork for me to fill out to identify the item so they could send it back to me. This was sent back to Denver on 12/27/07--and still no response one way or the other from them. Of course the Ebay customer that bought the filter is very upset, so therefore I refund her money. I am out about $150.00 on that transaction. I have another person I shipped an item to at the end of December still looking for his item. I shipped an item on the 7th, and that customer still has not received his item. I am going through the Paypal dispute center now with another customer who is out a shipment that was sent on the 30th of December. I sent an item to a person in Florida;I tracked it to a depot in Florida, and apparently it sat there for a week before the customer finally did receive it.
The USPS says the item in Denver was supposed to be coming back to me; that was on the 5th and is now the 20th. I have to get another item from my inventory to ship to this woman who is out her item; that's going to cost me another $30.00 plus shipping to keep her happy. In the Ebay world our rating means a lot, and my rating has been in jeopardy because of USPS's incompetance. I went to the Stafford post office and took the confirmation numbers and paperwork for 3 other items about 1 and a half weeks ago. The answer I got was they should get them--those were shipped out 3 weeks prior. I caught flack from those customers waiting for their items, and they were over $100.00 each. The USPS says Parcel Post takes from 2-9 days, yet there are times it takes 3 weeks for items to be shipped. If I ran a business like they do,I would be out of business. Thanks for your time.

My husband sent an insurance payment on Dec. 30, 2007, but it wasn't post marked until Jan. 10, 2008! Due to USPS we have a 10 day lapse in our coverage. I have spoken with my insurance carrier and was informed the post mark is how they calculate the payment as received. So even if they didn't process the payment until Jan. 10th, it would have still been considered received if the post mark was before Jan 1st. It was my understanding that when I place the mail in the mailbox it goes to the post office and is post marked. If this is incorrect, then where in the does it go? I have filled a complaint with the USPS and have yet to hear anything. What are my options?
The only reason we found out about the lapse in coverage was because I hydroplaned on the freeway Jan. 4th, 2008 and smacked the rear of my car (no one else involved). Needless to say I had to call my insurance carrier to report it. It was at that time we where informed the payment was not received and our coverage was no longer in effect. We were to wait a couple of days to ensure it wasn't sitting on someone's desk waiting to be processed. It was finally received Jan. 10th. Now not only do I have to have my car repaired, there's the ambulance, hospital, doctor, radiology and car rental that have to be paid for. All of this is under my insurance policy that took almost 2 weeks to be post marked. I am between jobs and did not budget for this. My car is a 2004 Honda Civic LX coupe. It doesn't even have 50,000 miles on it. The only saving grace is that it is still driveable.

Upon signing the merchant copy, I noticed that my entire credit card number is being printed (not just the last 4 disits as required by law). Now on my copy (customer receipt) only the last 4 digits are printed. I informed the clerk about the error because according to law, a customer's CC number is not to be printed in full on any documents but should be retained in their system in an encrypted format. I asked to speak to a supervisor. The supervisor did not come out but instead gave me a phone number for consumer affairs to file a complaint. Instead I decided to go online and file my concerns that way.
The consequences is that customers' full credit card numbers are accessible to anyone working in the postal center. This could lead to identity theft and fraud. I would like to know that the postal service is going to correct this considering that all other merchants have to comply to the law.

When I tried to cancel online, the web site informed me that I could not change an individual forwarding order from a commercial address. I spoke with customer service representative Mike who, rather than listen to my problem and help me solve it, told me there was only one solution. He gave me no chance to explain why my situation was different from the average request. When I asked to explain, he hung up on me. His attitude was rude and confrontational. I've mentioned the unique situation that prevented me from changing my address. Had Mike listened to me, I could have solved it by phone. With identity theft being such a problem, I see this to be a big issue. When speaking to Kay from the post office, she sent two different maintenance techs (two different occasions) to see what might be the problem. They claim that one of our boxes needed to be fixed, and it will resolve the issue. And that's fine, but what is their excuse to the other 5 boxes that have also been left open and do not need to be fixed? The post office needs to either take the time to train the postal carriers or allow them enough time to deliver mail.
Residents now have to go to the post office to get their mail.

My husband is going through training at Fort Meade, Maryland to become a broadcast journalist for the US Army. He wanted me to send him our video camera so that he could use it for a few projects there, so I sent in on December 4. He was going to bring it home with him for Christmas. He waited and waited and it never arrived. He is receiving mail at a normal address, not an APO/FPO address. So there is no reason not to get it there in normal delivery time. Of course it is the holidays, but nothing should take this long. I went to file a complaint at the main Post Office, and they were completely and utterly ignorant and rude. The first time I went in and told them I wanted to file a claim after it had already been 21 days, they told me to wait longer since it was the holidays and to call the post office on the receiving end to make sure it wasn't there. (Is that not something they should do?) Then they said to call the USPS 1800 number to Inquire about the package. When I called the other end, nothing was found, and when I called the 1800 number they said that you can't inquire about insured domestic mail.
So then I make the second trip into the post office to file the claim like I had originally intended to do. This time the guy that helped me said I needed to wait 75 days. I promptly told him that I only needed to wait 21 days before filing the claim. Then he highly suggested that I wait and give it more time before I file a claim. I have no intention of waiting because time is money and memories missed. I would have liked to use our Video Camera to record our kids' Christmas with their Dad, as he will be leaving for Iraq for 15 months. He has already missed so much of our kids' lives. This Video camera is a necessity in our life, and we have to be without it. There is no way I am waiting. The sad thing is, I was in a rush when I sent it off at the Post Office in the first place, and only insured it for $300. We paid over $800 for the camera. So needless to say, I told them that is why I wanted to file right away. The guy that helped me had absolutely no clue how to file a claim, so he went to talk to a manager to see what to do. The manager didn't have a clue either. He had to go print off directions on how to file a claim. Finally I filled out their form, and then waited and waited and waited for them to figure out how to fill out a half a page's worth of information. I was being helped for over an hour. Also during this visit the postal worker inquired about the location I shipped the package from. I told him it was the Clear Creek post office, and he said, "Oh that's not a Post Office, it's a contract station. Just a bunch of bank girls." Even as a contract station, IT'S A POST OFFICE! How ignorant and rude.
I have wasted my time and money and lost faith in the USPS, and now plan to ship EVERYTHING with someone other than them. As far as insurance goes, I don't know why American's should even have to pay it. Don't we already pay them to do their job? Why are we also paying for insurance so that if they don't do their job, we are covered. In any other market, businesses are accountable for their services. Why shouldn't the United States Postal Service be any different? As for the claim, we will see where that gets us.
We lost an $800 video camera and footage of our kids we can never get back!

Just an interesting experience I had with the USPS. Living in the snow belt in Michigan, we get used to having to shovel the snow quite a bit. I had never had a problem with my mail being delivered until I couldn't physically go out and shovel myself. I had a broken foot; there is not much you can do with that. I had been waiting for my mail order prescriptions to come that I need for a chronic illness. But the driver kept on driving past my house and any other house that didn't have a 'clear' path to the box. I finally get a ride to the post office itself where to my horror I find out that I cannot pick up MY OWN MAIL because it didn't reach my box and in turn it's still the property of the USPS...WHAT? I paid for these prescriptions that I desperately need, and they are telling me that they have to return to sender for blocked access to deliver (something like that). I was furious. It was sitting right there, and I couldn't take it.
Show a little compassion here. Broken Foot. Four months pregnant. It could take that driver 2 minutes at least to just drive up my driveway to deliver my mail during a hardship, but OH NO, to make the customer happy, that's not what they strive to do. They would rather kill you by keeping your heart medicine from you because one person decided you didn't shovel properly or didn't have the 3 minutes of time between the snow plow trucks piling it up, and you running down clearing it out for them. It's just plain crazy.
Frustrated. I immediatley contacted Sen Debbie Stabenow's office and got a quick response and follow up. The branch postmaster got a letter, so did I, that basically said Hey lets work together here, can an attempt be made to deliver to the door when hardships are in place Exactly my point. My complaint is that this package is being delayed and sent all over the country. I paid the extra money for the priority and for the Delivery Confirmation. I have tried to get through to the Postal Customer Service to get to the bottom of this problem. But due to our Modern Technology I am not allowed to speak to a person Because The Package Is Still On It's Way To It's Destination is what the recording says. How many more times will this package be sent all over the country? Money can not replace the value of this Christmas present addressed to my 87 year old dad - I put in many, many hours on making his present because it comes from my heart. It is over 9 days now. I want to know what the problem is. I either want it returned to myself or preferably, I want this package delivered to where it should have been delivered 8 days ago. All I get is the run around from the Post Office.

On 12-10-07, I shipped a nintendo wii to a family as a Christmas gift. I have checked on it every day. I took out $400.00 insurance & delivery confirmation. The package was supposed to be delivered to Santa Rosa, CA 95401. This is their children's Christmas gift. I kept calling the Post Office. I have 2 reference numbers they gave me after both calls. Tonight I tracked this package on both these numbers and the Delivery confirmationv number and the insurance number. They delivered it alright, To San Jose (zip 95124) on Dec 18th @ 1:12. I have no idea about the signature required for the insurance, BUT I do wonder how they managed to deliver this item to a different city with a different zipcode.
All my papers, even the ones printed at the Post Office, say this package was to be delivered to Santa ROSA 95401. Now these people are furious at me. I have ruined their Christmas. I will have to refund their money and file a complaint, which will take forever to get my money back, and I need my money!

I asked if there was anyway to check the status of the check. She stated no. I paid the $39.+. and Spoke with the Manager, Dana Coffee, She stated that the individual can take the checks at their own risks.
I can't believe with today's technology that this incident had to happen and cause a delay of time and energy. I am in the Military and travel a lot. The incident was unneccessary. We are getting ulcers over this. It should not take this long to send something from Iowa to Arizona. I was told by the attendant that my mail would arrive in 3 days. She offered me insurance stating that it would cover damaged items. I did not have any glass, so I declined. I did not realize that without insurance it would not cover a lost package. She never said that. Now it has been 10 days and my package has still not arrived. The box contained close to 500 dollars worth of items. These are Christmas presents I was sending to my niece and nephew. I also packed all the receipts to the items and placed them in a zip lock bag inside the box. This was incase some of the items were the wrong size, they could be exchanged. The receipts contain my husband's name and credit card number. This is his personal information! I want to know where my package is and nobody seems to know. I believe my mail was stolen by a postal employee. Is there anything I can do about this? My post office is of no help to me. They have that your just a needle in a haystack attitude. On Tues. Dec. 11, I checked the mailbox again just in case it was left after hours. No package. I went over to the post office to find out where my package was. The postmaster Mr. Tucker said that when the carrier (whose name is Pam) came in he would talk to her and call me by 12:00 pm on Wed., Dec. 12th, to let me know what was going on. Didn't hear from Mr. Tucker. Carrier Pam came to the office to have me sign for some certified mail. I asked her if my package was located yet and she saw a box sitting on the office floor and said, "There is your package opened up." I told her no it wasn't. That package came by way of Fed-ex. Still again she said the package was delivered. Not! Went back to post office on Dec. 12th to talk to Mr. Tucker. I told him about what went on in my office, and he had an "I don't care attitude". He took me back to his office and wrote down what had happened and told me he would talk to her and get back to me.
Thurs. Dec. 13th, no call from Mr. Tucker. I once again went over to the post office and requested that I be refunded for the lost package that I never received. I did receive my refund but my complaint is the unprofessionalism on behalf of Mr. Tucker and carrier Pam. She lied about the whole situation, and he took her side on the whole ordeal. He never contacted me when he said he would, and his attitude should not be allowed in a place of business. And still I am wondering where my package ended up? Ever since I have been mailing tax filings, I have always taken them to the post office on the final day to have them manually postmarked. This service was recently denied in deference to a having to pay a $1.05 per item charge for having it done. I feel this fee is both excessive and unwarranted. It is just another example of how the monopoly that is the USPS allows them to take advantage of the consuming public. A manually affixed postmark cancellation should not cost any more than an automated one.
There are no damages per se, however, I feel the public is being forced to pay an excessive and unwarranted fee for services that they have a right to expect by already having placed a postage stamp on their letter.

I called USPS, and they told me to cancel the order and file as an individual, so I did. Since then my parents and I have been unable to get our mail. I have made numerous calls to USPS, as well as gone into the local post office and spoke with the supervisor who assured me they would solve the problem. All they can tell me is that our mail is in a perpetual loop, and is being forwarded back and forth between my new and old address, without being delivered to either.
I have not been receiving any of my bills, and thus have been having difficulty paying them on time, which I am sure is affecting my credit. More important is the fact that my electricity almost got shut off for the same reason. Luckily I had called them to find out about my bill, when I was informed it was to be shut off in the next couple of days because of nonpayment. Thankfully they were understanding of my situation and kept it on. I am hoping you can give me some information as to what kind of legal action can be taken, since it appears to be the only way left to resolve this issue.

We have lived at this residence for a little over a year now and have recently had problems receiving our mail. I have called on several occasions to find out why they are not delivering certain pieces of mail. The address that is on the mail that is being sent back is correct. Recently they sent my husband's unemployment check back, and when we questioned why they did it, they said it was a system error. I filed a couple of complaints with the U.S. Postal Service customer service dept., but the investigation came up empty. No one can explain why they keep sending our mail back. First the mailman tried to say that his substitute sent it back, but just last week 12/1/07, he sent back another one of my husband's unemployment checks.
We feel that our mailman is withholding our mail and/or sending it back because we complained about him. My husband has been receiving mail from the unemployment dept. for approx. 6 months now, on and off, and we have NEVER had any problems. The unemployment office resent the check on 12/8/07 and it ALWAYS takes 2 days but once again, he did not get his check today. We are very frustrated, and the delay of our mail is causing us major problems, especially my husband's checks. He has been unemployed for over 1 year and we desperately rely on his unemployment check. The delay also causes a domino effect because if the check is late then his next claim is late, and it seems to never end because of the constant delay and/or non-delivery of our important mail. Also several of my credit card statements are being sent back as well as my son's school documents. THIS HAS GOT TO STOP! We requested our mail be changed to another post office, but they said it cannot be. PLEASE HELP!

The United States Postal Service of Fishers, IN is building a legacy of poor service, customer mistreatment, and complete incompetence. In the last month alone, one priority mail package I shipped arrived 20 days late. The other priority mail package never arrived. Of course I have absolutely no recourse because, according to the manager there, "Since you didn't buy our insurance, there's nothing we can do for you". In the past, I have experienced even worse treatment when trying to locate extremely late or lost mail. Some notable quotes from the fine staff there include: your mail will arrive when it gets there and stop calling us; and, there's nothing we can do (this occurred after being kept on hold for 20 minutes and eventually disconnected). On a more creepy note, one postal service worker continually asked of one of my packages: Is that a computer in there? What kind is it? Is it a new one?
When a manager is requested, its usually more of the same: Sir, we have no way of knowing when your mail will arrive, or blame is made on the other post office--They should have sent it to us by now. We always have problems with them. Attempting to track down lost mail usually yields the following response: If it doesn't arrive in 30 days, you can request an investigation. Of course when an investigation is initiated, it is on a: don't call us, we'll call you, basis. I have never heard anything back on my lost packages. These scenarios are just a fraction of the customer mistreatment which also includes numerous hang ups, misdirects, rude or hurried responses, re-directed blame and complete and utter lack of accountability.
am not (by far) the only one who has encountered these problems. I really feel that they have absolutely no responsibility to there customers and hide behind governmental bureaucracy whenever it's convenient. Due to their constant incompetence, I no longer use USPS for ANY outgoing shipments. It's just a shame I can't get all of my incoming mail through a reliable, responsible carrier. Maybe someday, these arrogant and lazy civil servants will be ostracized, and the previously solid reputation of the United States Postal Service will be restored.

The mailman for my address held my mail, and all of my neighbor's mail, for 4 days this week. I live in a condo subdivision where there is a mailbox for about 20 residents. The reason for holding the mail is that he said there was a car parked in front of the mailbox. I have pictures to show that there was plenty of room for him to access the mailbox. The curb is painted yellow and no one should park there. The car parked there was ticketed by the Fairfax County Police - but remained parked there. The Sequoyah Homeowners Association 703-780-8225 - will NOT intervene because the car is parked on a public street. Additionally, they will not post a No Parking sign. They are going to send out a newsletter to residents next month - which does NOTHING to help NOW! Meanwhile, we are being deprived of access to our mail!
When the car that was parked there for 4 days moved, another parked there right away. I called the police and they ticketed that car too. I will continue to call the police to ticket the cars - but as long as there is a car there - WE WILL NOT GET OUR MAIL! I called the Post Office - 703-704-5680 -and spoke to a supervisor. Then I went to the post office to see the supervisor. After explaining the urgency of some of my expected mail, the supervisor agreed to follow me to my neighborhood to find the mailman and get my mail. However, he said that the mail will continue to be HELD and NOT DELIVERED on EACH DAY in which there is a car in front of the mail box! According to the USPS forms, the mail is to be sent by priority mail each Wednesday. The first shipment should have been mailed on 11-07-07. It wasn't. When I had received no mail by 11-13-07, I emailed the USPS asking how to activate the service I had paid for. I was told that someone from the 'home post office' would contact me by the end of the next business day. Nobody did. So, I made the 600 mile round trip to LA, and went to the nearby post office where I had filed the request for the PFS. A very helpful clerk informed me that the form had been sent to the Julian Dixon branch because they handled the service for my zipcode. She then proceeded to call that branch, get the supervisor on the line, a Ms. Foster, who promised me that she would go to the old address, collect my misdelivered mail and send it to my new address. A week later, I still hadn't received any mail, so I sent another email, and once again I was told someone would contact me by the end of the next business day. Nobody did. A full month has gone by with no mail, and no explanation or resolution of the problem.
The consequence of the failure to provide the service is that my credit card statements, my bank statements and other mail that can be used to steal a person's money and identity are lost or already in the hands of people I don't know. My identity was stolen once before at the old residence when someone used a renewal credit card that was sent to me, and either placed in the wrong mailbox or stolen out of mine. I believe that person still lives in the building, and may now have a motherload of information that he or she can use.

It arrived all right, to someone else's address! When I checked the Delivery Confirmation that night it showed that it was delivered! WRONG: I was home and in the front yard tidying up; no mail carrier brought me anything, so how can they say it was delivered?
I called their ASK USPS number and finally got a real person on the phone who opened a claim for me. I get a call from the local post office 2 days later, congratulating me on successfully getting my package! I told her the reason why I opened the claim is because I did not get the package. I asked her to talk the driver and find out where my package was delivered. She said she will have to call me back and she did earlier this morning. She told me she is 100% confident that the carrier delivered my package to my address (even though I claimed that not only I was home but in my front yard cleaning up) and that she is closing this claim. Obviously the carrier delivered it elsewhere and did not want to give up the real address it was delivered to and face that he was wrong! When I lived in Canada, we never had such problems!

This deliberate dereliction of duty and unwillingness to spend 1 minute to properly deliver an extremely important document has caused me significant financial damage.
The gross negligence of the mail carrier forced me to reschedule an out of town flight (with penalty to me) and jeopardized a business agreement. Instead of closing a real estate transaction over the weekend, I now will have to miss work due to the change in travel plans caused by the mail carrier's failure to do his job.

I went into the Umatilla post office about 4:50 pm today to mail an overnight express envelope. After completing my form and while waiting in line, I received a call on my phone from one of my employees indicating that his check was shorted hours. The urgency of reaching my payroll company so the young man could receive his missing pay tomorrow caused me to use my cell phone while in line. When my turn came for the postman to help me, he ignored me and asked the lady behind me to come forward next. I said excuse me, but I was next. His comment to me was : Too bad, but I'm not competing with a cell phone. He was very rude! and I told him so. His opinion about me using my cell phone should not have any bearing on whether he refuses to service my mailing needs. I immediately hung up my cell phone and had to wait for him to wait on others again.
I was not holding up anyone behind me. Then, he tells me after I waited in line again, my package could not be delivered overnight. So then I went over to fill out a priority mail envelope and by then it was 5:00. No other customers were left but me, and he ignored me and walked around behind the shelving for a spell, and I had to call him "Hey you" because his name tag was not on and his name plate was hidden behind the things on the counter. By this time I had NO trust left in mailing anything at this post office. I asked for his name, and that was when he pulled out his name plate to show me. I have never been treated so badly in public by a public servant in my life. I do not usually use this particular post office and I never will again after this. I will pray this clerk has a change of heart about how he treats others. Next time I guess I should use FEDEX.

The carrier proceeded to go to the person's house, and nobody answered the door. I asked to whom he delivered this package and he, as well as Wallace the supervisor refused to tell me. Now, I ask you, how is that right? Someone deliberately signed for a package that was not theirs and then they do not bring it to me. It is now the 15th of November, 11:00 am; this package was supposed to be delivered the 14th of November before 5pm. I recently went on-line to have my mail held while out of town. I received a confirmation number and thought that , as advertised in a mailer I had gotten that very day, the mail would be discontinued on Friday Nov. 2 and resumed on Nov. 7. The mail was delivered to my home every day that week. The last time I was out of town I handed the form to the mail person, and the time before that mailed it to my local post office; both times the mail continued to be delivered to my home. What is the correct manner to discontinue mail to assure that it will be protected at the post office until I pick it up ?
There were no consequences as a neighbor saw the deliveries and kept the mail for us, but I felt someone needed to be aware that the services offered by the post office were not received.

I just sent out VERY important papers that took a very long time to get and can't be replaced unless I jump through a lot of hoops. I sent it via certified mail. I ASKED them which would be the best way to send it so it doesn't GET LOST. They said certified! AGAIN they lost it IN their office, it NEVER left! I have HAD IT. I have been sending things either Fed Ex or UPS because I can't even trust my own mail office. But this was to a Post Office box and HAD to regrettably use USPS! Then when we contact their office they say they will research it, and that is the end of it; we never hear from them again! They are rude if you have a complaint, when you express it nicely. So it doesn't matter how you act, they just do NOT care! We have written and complained many times before, and nothing is done about it.

I went into the Harris, MN Post office to mail a package that was measured, weighed, and postage paid for $19.25 which included insurance and confirmation. A few days later I get an email from my customer that the Brandon, SD Post office is requiring postage due in the amount $39.14, and she's furious. I've been running my part-time business now for over two years and mail things all the time. I was completely puzzled. I called the Postmaster in MN to see if she knew anything, and she was unaware of why they would be requesting additional postage. Next I called the SD location and they informed me that the package was over-sized and should not have gone Priority, so there was additional postage due. I couldn't believe that they were making this my fault. I told them I paid what I was told to pay and just expected that they deliver the package to my customer for the service that I paid for. Next I called the 800-275-8777 number and was told that SD would need to send the package back to MN; if it was still correct they could send it back to SD and should deliver the package. In the meantime, the package was being held by the postmaster in SD who would not allow even the return of the package until the additional postage was paid. There was NO WAY OUT but to pay the additional fee--and it wasn't my fault.
I spent over 4 hours of conversations trying to resolve the issue. My customer is very upset that they drove to pick up the product and now have to drive back and pick it up again. I was forced to pay $58.39 for a package that should have only cost me $39.24 if I'd shipped it UPS. I would have never shipped the item USPS if I was originally told the correct fee.

I have assured them this is an error and begged them to please correct the issue. Clearly this has not been resolved. We have had mail returned from the senders of licensing boards, tax agencies, health and auto insurance. Although we do receive intermittent mail, we clearly are missing a MAJOR majority of our mail. If this happens occasionally, I do not complain, but if it happens a lot, I call the post office and complain. It has been happening with a lot of frequency lately. I called the local post office on Monday and complained. On Tuesday, the mail still was not delivered to where it was addressed. I then called the local post office and spoke with the post master who identified himself as Tom. His reply to my complaint was: If it happens again, let me know. I thought that was a very unsatisfactory response so I called the 800 number not realizing the complaint would go directly to the local post office. Today, the underling (I cannot remember his name) showed up at the office and began to explain to me why they were not going to deliver to this floor anymore. Part of what he said was they come up here and all of the offices are never open so they then have to go to the bank; they need consistency, etc. They have to deliver mail to the bank anyway. It was clearly a waste of my time to talk to this man so I asked for a copy of the policies. He said they do not have written policies; each post office just does what it wants to. I see the commercials on television advertising the wonderful service the U. S. Postal Service provides. Why do we not have this wonderful service in Pendleton, Oregon? If there are written policies on mail delivery, please email them to me. I do not know how a company the size of the U. S. Postal Service can function without written policies. We've had at least several days of human error within just one month. This is a constant issue.
We have missed bills and had to pay late fees. We have missed other mail such as my wife's paychecks, which was time critical because it was not delivered. We want these people held accountable. Our postal carrier informed us that since we recently moved to the neighborhood, we would have to construct a curbside mailbox. He stated that everyone had to do this who was new. We have been in our home since June of 2006 and there is absolutely no one in the neighborhood who has a curbside mailbox. They are all on the house.
My husband went to the post office to talk with a supervisor about it, and he said he would get us something more official without bothering to get our address. Our postal worker asked us about the box again, and we informed him that we needed something more official because no one else in the neighborhood has curbside mailboxes and this policy does not just apply to us. He said that he was not going to be able to bring us the mail anymore, but he would get something more official. We have not received anything official and we are no longer receiving our mail.

Two weeks ago I moved across town. I filed a change of address online and I received my email confirmation that it was done successfully. The first day at my new address I received two bills and a magazine that I had already updated addressing on. After this I have not received any mail at my new address. I contacted USPS and they said there was a problem with the mail forwarding and they got this fixed. I mentioned not receiving any mail at all even mail addressed to my new address and I was told that this was a seperate issue and not something she could do anything about.
A few days later and still no mail I called the 1-800 number again and was told that I would begin receiving mail but mail that had not been received in the past two weeks was not their responsibility but they should turn up. 2 1/2 weeks since moving I am still not receiving any mail and I know I was supposed to have received a few packages from family as house warming gifts.

I have not received certain pieces of my mail lately; specifically my paycheck and my Netflix movies. They just don't seem to make it to my mailbox. There is no evidence of tampering with the mailbox at all. I am of the suspicion that someone at the Post Office is taking my stuff. All my bills and my magazines seem to make it...just DVDs and checks seem to disappear.

For the past 3 weeks some of my mail has been delivered to my neigbor's address. She is a 93-year-old woman and she keeps the mail on various tables throughout her home. I have no idea of the location of my other mail. Sometimes I get one piece of mail sometimes two. Most days nothing. I have gone to my local post office only to be told that there is nothing they can do, that they don't have my mail.
I have filed a complaint online but haven't heard from anyone. I am unemployed and need my unemployment check among other important letters regarding possible employment.

On occasion several months ago the driver drove up to delivery mail and told me to move my d*** car. I filed a complaint but nothing happened. Now on Friday July 28 I checked my mail that morning and nothing was in the box, then that afternoon I rechecked she had left a note saying I had to go to the post office to pick up my mail due to my mail box full. It was empty except for the note which was dated 7/25/6.

The mail man is not delivering the mail. He is passing up our whole apartment complex of 36 units. My neighbor complained to no avail. I am a concerned disabled citizen and I can't purchase my medicine and my utilities are being shut off. I depend on the mail.
