My wife heard that National Debt Relief was one of the better ones to get involved with so I then searched the web and found that it has a good rating. Their team explained the process, was courteous, friendly, and always there. They answered questions and would always be upfront. They're very accessible and always ask to call my questions if I ask them. Working with them has finally disciplined me in a somewhat reduced rate to get rid of the debt load, which I'm almost rid of except for the killer student loan debt. They've enabled me to meet my budget or come close to meeting my budget once a month and that’s good. The highlight also is that on the last two negotiations for debt, they have exceeded what we like they would do. They went beyond a little bit and my debt went down a little further than what I expected them to.

I was going to file bankruptcy, but I said no, I borrowed the money so I'm going to see National Debt Relief. I called and just decided to go with them. They're a good team, and I've been happy that they've been getting negotiations for me and it's quick. I don't have to sit on the phone long to get someone to answer or to talk with. I'd always go with them before I go with bankruptcy. If you're in debt and obligated to pay your bills, National Debt Relief is one good way of doing it. I'd recommend them to friends in need.

I lost my job and the next position I received was not paying as much as I was making before, so I fell behind on a lot of bills,. That's when I I looked into debt relief. Every time I've called National Debt Relief, they've been very helpful and answered all of my questions. I never had any issue with them. Working with them has made it much easier on me because now I can just pay one consolidated bill, and they negotiate on my behalf. They're awesome, and I'm very thankful. I had a really good experience with them.

It was just too much with the bills I was getting and I was trying to take care of my brother and National Debt Relief was able to help me reduce some of my debts. Working with them made me less stressed. It made me evaluate my budget and what I can afford. It also helped me want to work more overtime and try to save up as much money as I can to get all my debts paid off as quickly as possible. Every person that I've spoken to was very courteous and willing to assist me with any questions. I'm relieved and the experience has been wonderful.

I lost my job, ended up at the point of foreclosure, and I was getting desperate. So I was at a point where it seemed like when it rains, it pours and everything went wrong. I needed to get out of debt and build back some credit but at that time, the credit companies were not going to work with me on my own, so I needed the mediation piece in place. That's why I went with National Debt Relief. Their team always kept me informed of where we were in the process, who they were reaching out to, when we were at the point of an agreement and what I needed to do to bring closure to each account and so forth. They always kept me up to speed.
Working with National Debt Relief has given me the opportunity to be very close to being debt-free, to have the peace of mind and security that although I'll never be a multi-millionaire, I don't care. I will be able to go to sleep at night knowing that I don't owe anyone and what I have is paid for and secure. My experience with them was an opportunity almost to have a clean slate and start over, not on the same path but on a new, more educated path so that I can do things differently and almost be more prepared for the curve balls. They were great and that's probably a pretty generic word, but it's everything about the program which was helping me dig myself out of a hole that I had, in part, put myself into. They're very gracious and merciful as well.

I wanted to see if I could get any help in consolidating some of my creditors and I felt pretty good talking to the people from National on the phone. They were very helpful, knowledgeable and answered a lot of my questions. They're also responsive. Every time I call up, they get everything handled and figured out. They've done a good job of handling all the creditors. It was a big relief that I don't have to deal with any of them. National Debt Relief seems to be working out really well.

We were looking for a company to help us because I was not getting anywhere with my debt. We looked on the internet and found National Debt Relief. Their people have been wonderful and straightforward. The main thing I can advise for anyone to do is to follow National Debt Relief's directions completely as far as calling the companies, closing his or her account and giving them the new address and phone numbers. By doing so, we only had one or two very short phone calls and I was thinking we were going to get a lot of calls asking why we haven't paid. National Debt Relief has gotten my debt down. It started out at over 50 and we're down to 17. Working with them has made us at least see the end of the tunnel.

We've had a really, really good rapport with the team at National Debt Relief. We're getting two or three programs on their way to being done through them and we got two already done. The one guy who's taken care of us and some of the people who call us when something happens, like when we're a couple of days late or when we needed to change something, have been really helpful.

National Debt Relief is awesome. My interest rates had gotten so high I couldn't keep up with my monthly payments and I wasn't getting anywhere with it. They were really very helpful. What I really liked about them is that I had made up my mind that this is the route I wanted to go and nobody pushed me into doing anything. It's like, "Well, just take your time. We'll call you back". And whenever I had to call, they always answered my questions or directed me to the right people who I needed to go to. Whenever they told me they would call me back, they would call back on that day. I'm still paying right now and I got more to go but I'm sure once it's over I'll try to get myself back on track. If you want peace of mind if you get behind in your bills, National Debt Relief is the best.

I was drowning in debt and the job I have now is about a quarter of what I used to make. I went to National Debt Relief and they were fine. They don't communicate often, only when they have something to offer me and then I say, yes or no. We were in such big trouble so we looked online and National Debt Relief was rated number one. Our initial interaction with their team went really good. I was really, really nervous when they were explaining things and I tried giving out very pertinent information in the middle of it. Then I asked the guy how I would know he is who he says he is and he just laughed. But we’ve had a good relationship. They’ve always kept us informed about what’s going on even though I can look online at any time. I wish there weren’t so many fees though because we paid out quite a bit in fees. They told us about most of them upfront but there were a few surprises so I called and got explanations. Working with National Debt Relief took a big burden off of us because we were really having a lot of problems paying our bills. We got really stripped down to bank accounts to live on. That’s actually been good and we have relearned how to live within our means.

I had a divorce and ended up in a lot of debt and that was too much to handle. National Debt Relief has been communicating information very well and explaining everything as we’ve gone through the process. It's relieved some stress because I have a plan on getting out of debt much quicker than I could've possibly done on my own. It has organized my finances in a better way, so they've taken the lead role in getting the debt taken care of. It’ll be less than two years from when I started that I’ll be completely out of debt. In the end, my payments were less than what they had initially told me to get completely out of debt, so that was good news.

They changed their language so that I could understand what they were talking about. And so far, it's great because I will be debt free a lot quicker than I would've done any other way just by myself. The plan was for it to be a 28-month timeframe for everything to be paid off, and they worked it out so that I could be done six months sooner. They were able to lower the interest rate significantly so that the original guesstimate for the payoff was at one level and it was decreased substantially. So, I brought my very specific concerns to the person that I dealt with at National. Once I had gotten the answers and understood how they had much more visibility into the process, I decided to go with them. My interactions with their team were mostly good. However, there was a misunderstanding between my own provider and the current provider which resulted in a lost settlement, but it was more on the previous settlement provider as opposed to the National team.
They've been very good at trying to make sure everything's gone well. And even when I snapped, they were still very courteous and didn't have any time where they raised their voices. Working with them has been great. Every outstanding amount has had a good settlement. So far, it's 50%-60% settled with 40% of the creditors on settlements already. So, it's gone well. I recently lost my job and they were able to allow me to do a lower payment for one month. I wanted to see what National Debt Relief could do to help me out a little bit and to consolidate or pay off some of my debts as I was overwhelmed with them. I had perfect credit at the time, but had so many credit cards. It's been working out okay with their team. However, I questioned them a few times because the offer that came back was really not what I was expecting, as it wouldn't have been any better for me. They get their 20% commission, but with the offer that they got plus their commission, it almost brought it up to what it would've been if I had paid it off. I told them "no" several times on some. I understand that they're out there to make money, but it doesn't benefit me to just pay them a commission and have the same amount. I can pay that myself. In fact, I even get offers from other companies that are really almost better than theirs, so I had discussions a couple of times with them about some of the offers that they had for me.
Working with National Debt is a little bit easier than what it would have been if I had to pay, as I'd have to pay a higher amount to get debts paid off, but I'm still making payments. I'm just glad that at least they've got a kind of control over all of the credit cards I had and I don't get a lot of hassle from them because I've paid several off. Hopefully, I'll pay the rest off down the line. I don't have to have the hassle of them contacting me all the time, and I'm satisfied with them.

I got diagnosed with Scleroderma, which is a very weird autoimmune disease. Not only was I very ill, but I was not able to work and was totally stressed from all of the mail and the calls coming in. I was freaking out. I’ve never had a bad credit report. I had considered debt consolidation, bur when the people told me I had to stop paying my bills, I said that it's not gonna work for me. So I had no choice but to call National Debt Relief because there was no money coming in and I had a lot of credit cards.
When I joined, it had already been 18 months since I stopped paying my bills so the creditors were eager to hear from anyone about it other than me. I was ignoring them and dodging calls because I was not well and I felt horrible. But National Debt Relief made a tremendous difference and it took so much pressure and anxiety out of the equation for me. The program is very organized. They tell you exactly what to do and how they deal with people who are harassing you. They are just there in any situation. I’ve called about a variety of different things and they’re always solicitous.
I talked to the legal team there and they were great. They gave me really good advice and explained the whole thing to me. One of the credit cards had started legal action against me so I called them to see if we could put that in the consolidation, but they said that if they’ve already given me a court date, they can’t do that. There has to be a certain number of months that passed before they do that because they wanted to make sure that they weren’t going to do something worse. But in the end, the credit card company had a law firm cover the thing and I made a payment plan with them for $20 a month. That’s all I could afford with the National Debt Relief payment as well. Once I pay NDR off then I’ll probably send more to the credit card company or try to negotiate a settlement with them.
NDR has always been good, extremely positive and excellent. Anytime I ever called with a problem, they were always there for me. They’ve been wonderful. Now all my credit has been settled and I don’t even have that many payments left. They were always nice when I call and gave me great advice. I would recommend it to anybody who is having financial difficulties. The burden's away from you. All you had to do is make sure the money was in the bank. You can always access your own information in terms of how much money is in there, what payments are going out to who and what payments are going to seize to National Debt Relief, which is great.

They call me and let me know what’s going on whenever there are any changes. Working with them has made me feel that I handle the situation easier. The program is pretty good especially in a situation where I know I can turn myself around in a short period of time, two to three years, and get myself back on the right track. I would definitely recommend National Debt Relief to friends and I already have. It's a great experience in which I’ve learned a lot.

Almost four years ago, I ended up in the hospital with a rare syndrome. I thought I had everything under control, but I realized that things had just gotten way out of hand and off the ropes with my medical bills and having to buy medical supplies. So I needed some help to handle all of this. I did a Google search and found that National Debt Relief looked more professional. They were the one that definitely didn't look like a scam, so I went to that route to see how it would go.
I had a one-on-one with their counselor when I first contacted them. He got all of my information and was really on top of getting back to me, making sure that everything is answered if I had any questions. He was always super courteous and ensured that all the information that was needed is correct. After that, I think it goes to a general customer service. It's great because, on other places, I can only contact the nurse that's been dealing with my case. But with them, I would call and they can answer any question that I have after they looked up my entire profile. I have one lump sum payment and I don't worry about due dates. They deal with any of the calls and paperwork that comes in from the companies and when I signed up, I had everything up-to-date, so after I signed up, they told me to stop making those payments and they will deal with them. It was really helpful.

I’m no longer in National Debt Relief's program since I found out that they had not paid anybody. They were waiting to collect the money and then pay them, so they were holding the payments I made. Consequently I was getting contacted by my creditors saying National Debt Relief is not paying them. When I questioned the Debt Relief people about it, they said, “we wait ‘til you get enough money in here to pay that creditor and then we go ahead and strike a deal with them and pay them.” My problem was my payments weren’t very much; they were $268 a month. But when they had to make other deals, I didn’t have the money to pay them.
The Debt Relief people said it was my fault because I couldn’t make the payments, but it’s a tit for tat thing where one thing affects another. They were just moving money around and making money off my money and now I got to deal with all this debt that’s over two years old. I’ve already had a bunch of payday loans and have two of them serving me papers, and I had to go make a deal with them to stay out of court. Debt Relief told me that they could work with the payday loan guys and that’s the only reason why I went to them, but the payday people refused to work with them so they were coming after me left and right. I’ve already paid off two of my loans and I had 10 of them. I had paid Debt Relief some money and whenever I told them why this wasn't working out, they said they’re keeping the money for interest. So I didn’t get reimbursed anything.
As far as working with Debt Relief, besides them pestering me to death every five minutes calling me, it wasn’t bad. They were nice and what they told me was informative. However, they didn’t tell me everything and some of their advertisements are false. Their actions spoke volumes about how they were taking people’s money. I was the one making payments to them and admittedly I probably didn’t make enough to pay anybody, but they didn’t tell me that. I could've used the $134 I paid bi-weekly. They don't inform people of all the pitfalls of going that way. I was getting ready to file bankruptcy, had already done that once and didn’t want to do it again, so I was looking for another way to do it. I thought maybe Debt Relief would work, and it didn’t work out.
I’m a heart patient and have had six heart attacks, and I had a heart attack over all this since I got so worked up about it. Then I was out of work for six weeks and didn’t get paid on top of everything. I’m numb now because I just roll with the flow and that’s the only way I can cope with the stress of it. I wouldn’t recommend Debt Relief to anybody and would tell others to go somewhere else. They cost me more money than I would’ve saved and in the long run it’s going to cost me about double. Now I've got to go deal with all these credit card companies and I got $250 credit cards now up to $1,200.

Every time I get a little bit late on one credit card, the interest rates would be jacked up. One of them went up to 30% and I said, if they're going to scam me, they're going to see what I can do. It was at a point where we couldn't keep up with the interest and the payments, so I started looking for help. And now, National Debt Relief and I are getting it worked out by going on a pay-as-you-go basis, and it's working out. By doing that, we're getting them paid down. I appreciate what they've done. They have a professional attitude, and I'd recommend them. I would just like to know how much longer I've got before I'm clear with my debt.

I've been working with National Debt Relief for a few months now and their people have been helpful and answered all my questions. It’s a four-year program and they said at the very beginning it would be stressful and I would be getting calls. I guess I’m still in that stage. It’s still just stressful and worrisome. And I wasn't really sure how or when they contacted my creditors as I'm still receiving communications from them. So I called National to tell them to call my creditors and inform them that I'm using National, so that the creditors can try to negotiate with National and stop contacting me. National said they won't do that until there's enough money in my account with that creditor. I understand I don't have enough money in the account, but National could still let the creditors know that I'm working with them. I'm even paying $12 more every month for an accountant just in case some creditor ever tried to take me to court because I wasn't paying my fees.
So it could be a couple more years until they can contact that creditor because National's doing one creditor at a time. I actually just got an email saying that one creditor is wanting to negotiate and I have to agree. But the terms are until next December, meaning I have to pay a little every month until next December. That for me is a long time so I haven't called National yet to accept the terms. I don't know if they would be able to accept any other creditors in that time period because I'm already negotiated with one. So my extra money would go to that creditor and not to other creditors, which is irritating.

I looked into debt relief since my credit card bills were getting the best of me. I had done consolidation before and I didn't want it to continue to drag out. I entered into a program with National Debt Relief but I canceled it for a number of reasons. The payments were more than what I can handle but my biggest issue with them is that they totally jacked up my credit even worse than what I had done. They didn't tell me that my debts needed to be in charge off status, only that to qualify for the program, I needed to let my credit card debt go three months behind. That way, the creditors were willing to work with us.
Almost all companies put a charge off on my credit report. And then, I actually ended up getting sued by one of the companies. I don't know if National had tried to work with them and they weren't willing to or what the situation was because at that point, my credit is trashed and I couldn't afford the payments so I decided to file for bankruptcy.
I'm not real happy with the way National Debt Relief handled this one though. I wouldn't use them again nor would I recommend them either. I worked with another debt consolidation program in the past from which I had a very pleasant experience. The company I used before was out of Florida. I wish I had gone through with them. With that previous company, I actually paid off my debt early and my credit was in great standing after that. They didn't require that I'd be late on anything. They just called and started negotiating with each individual credit card.
It's always credit card debt right after I have lost my job. I get unemployed and I start using my credit cards to survive. I could've continued on that way but to me, that's not productive. So, for me to voluntarily make this decision of consolidating and have my credit trashed, I'm not real happy about it. I don't think this is the way for it to get done.

I've already paid off quite a few things so that makes me happy because otherwise I'd still be paying on them myself. What they did was they worked with the company to get a settlement so I ended up paying half or less than half of what I actually owed. Then they also worked with me. If I have a hardship and I can't make my payment for that month, they allowed me to skip it or make a lower payment without any kind of penalty.

I needed financial help. I went online to see who was out there and National Debt Relief was one of the top companies on the list about performance, how they’ve done and how they’ve helped people in the past. That’s why I contacted them. All their reps have been helpful, informative and patient. When I've asked for information, they've given it to me. When I submit items to them to keep them updated on debtors, they respond quickly.
So far, the company has been able to help even if we're only a few months into the process and have got years to go. They've made resolutions with several debtors that we have. Since we've said that we're working with National Debt Relief, I haven't gotten a lot of hassle from any of the creditors. I had a few collections calls in the beginning but now have very few. I've told other people about how National Debt Relief has helped us and how everything's going with us so far. A couple of these people have contacted the company and have started the process with them, too.

I had credit cards that were not being paid off and National Debt Relief was helping me resolve them. They’re very friendly, courteous and easy to access. We corresponded through email and I always get an email response or any time I had a question. They usually contacted me either monthly or every other week, depending on how things went. Instead of having five credit cards of $300 or $500 a month payment and not seeing any of the balance lowering, they gave me peace of mind by having everything grouped into one lump payments of paying off your credit cards. National Debt Relief has been helpful.

I decided it would be better to consolidate because it seemed faster. Initially, it started off really good with the rep from National Debt. I had one female who contacted me. I got my accounts for a certain amount. She paid off a few, and then she told me that she needs me to increase my payments. I was like, "Hey, wait a minute. That's not part of the deal." I didn't really care for that. It just seemed like it was not a part of the contract or the deal that I arranged, and she was pressing it like this is what was needed. After they pay off the creditors, I don't receive anything. I haven't received anything saying that it actually was paid off, so I have no documentation saying anything has been paid off.
On the other hand, National Debt seems pleasant. Other than I don't really have anything being tangible, it seemed like it was a good idea. When they called me and made the arrangements, it seemed like things are finally moving forward in the right direction. I always thought that they're supposed to send some type of settlement letter to say that the settlement offer was accepted and is approved. I'm not very dissatisfied, but I would be tremendously more satisfied if the things that I brought to their attention was happy. Things could be handled a lot more openly and with more written documentation verification.

I attempted for a year to pay off my debts myself, paying between $650 and $800 a month to different creditors but I simply can’t do that. It will take a total of four years to get it completely paid even after negotiations and reduced price. So I needed somebody that could take just a flat $500 or $600 a month and negotiate some payments to get my creditors paid. And National Debt Relief has been helpful at setting an amount for the most part that I can handle. No matter how hard I tried, it would’ve taken me much longer to pay those debts than it’s gonna take through National Debt Relief's program. They explained it well, and they have always sent me the appropriate forms via email and, if I requested it, to my P.O. Box. I didn’t have trouble understanding the terms and I didn’t feel that the fees were too high. I know that the people I'm indebted are getting paid and they send me little things stating that they’re receiving the payments in a timely manner.
It’s been a big help to reduce my stress and to know that I can at least have somebody else that can negotiate for me. It has given me incredible relief. It beats the heck out of stressing myself out and being upset. It has helped me improve the quality of my life. It helps a lot if I can at least turn the creditors over to somebody else so they’re not calling my house 15 or 20 times a day. At least people are getting paid, so they’re not constantly calling me. I want to pay off my debts. I’m also a caregiver in my home for a gentleman so I can’t take that extra stress of having people constantly calling and demanding payment that I just don’t have. It's still slightly stressful because of the amount of time it takes for me to be able to set money into an account and pay off the debts, but that's because of my lack of funds. I would certainly recommend National Debt Relief to somebody who has very high debt.

National Debt Relief is currently helping me out with my debt. I wanted to pay off my credit cards and the initial call from National Debt Relief was really great. They explained everything. But once I became a client and have had a certain amount deducted from my accounts automatically every month, I now feel more like a number. Initially, the account rep was someone who actually cared about the debt I had. He would call and speak about the particulars and then, after that, I didn't really hear from anyone and I'm just pulling up. I would like someone to call and discuss my account with me from time to time. As a client, it's important to check in maybe at least once a quarter to follow up.
I don't know what their attrition rate is, but from my perspective, they don't really follow up and it's not gonna be something that their clients are gonna want to recommend. The assumption is when someone calls an agency like National Debt Relief, it's a touchy situation and the person is concerned with working with someone as in a partner capacity, where they feel that agency or individual cares about the particulars of their problem.

I looked at a couple of other companies, but National Debt sounded like what I was looking for.
My experience with them has been quite positive. They're doing what they told me they were going to do and didn't promise anything that they haven't delivered on. Out of the six debts that they're handling, there are settlements on all, but one, so far. And once I get a few more dollars in my account, they can probably do that. They also said that generally, their settlements are in the 40% to 45%, sometimes more, sometimes a little less. Most of them have been right around the 45%. Also, anytime I've called them and asked questions, I'd get all the answers. When they're coming up with the possibility of having a settlement, they explain what it's going to be, how much a month they'll be taking out of my account to pay that, and tell me that there's no problem if I wanted to pay it off ahead of time. They've been pretty thorough in explaining what they're doing and why they think it would be a good deal to settle. So far, I'm very happy.

They were unable to look at what the details were for each account that's on there that I can either remove if I need to or put back if I wanted to. They're in the business of debt relief and their customer's already in debt, and at least, they could check up on their customer and communicate something other than, "Here, give me your bank and we'll keep taking your money for the next two or three years." They could make the process a little more personal, as in taking the time to call their customer back and saying, "Hey, I know you're struggling. I know we're digging into your pocket. But we're trying to help you out. I just want to check up on you and make sure you're okay."

So we considered some options and debt relief was a nice alternative between the amputation and the walking around crippled for the rest of our life. So we Google-searched top rated debt relief companies in America and National Debt Relief was consistently at the top.
The people that dealt with us upfront were the best. The limbic part of my brain trusted them to help me. They were understanding, sympathetic and not judgmental. I felt like they weren't trying to get something from me for their benefit but what they did benefitted me and that they would benefit as well. We set up a 48-month plan. We got excited and did everything in the last 12 months to get rid of our debts. We cashed in our retirement savings which was an extreme measure but once we start making progress, it’s contagious. Debt reduction for us was like weighing 800 pounds and losing ten every year. We can celebrate that we lost 10 pounds but then we still had to face the fact that we weigh 790. But with National Debt Relief, it was like liposuction wherein they tore stuff off of us and suddenly we have biceps.
The only concern I have is that last week we had a conversation that took four separate phone calls because I was getting disconnected as they would transfer me to somebody else. Their people’s understanding of how to use their systems may be inadequate but apart from that, we have a fantastic relationship with the company. I wholeheartedly recommend National Debt Relief to people who are drowning and can't seem to find a way out.

I have been going through a bunch of medical bill situations with the family that I assist. I had incurred way too much debt in loans and credit card in assisting them that I wasn't able to pay for myself. So, I was hoping to consolidate everything and get settlements done so that I can restart. I knew I would get a lower credit score because of the relief help but I was willing to do that for a couple of years just to get everything figured out. Everyone that I've worked with in National Debt Relief has been great and responsive with emails. Plus, people that I have talked to over the phone were really courteous and know everything about my account so they make really good notes. Working with National has been great because I started out with a really low credit score because I put everything out into debt settlement, but afterward everything has been going fine. I would definitely recommend them.

From the first moment that I called National Debt Relief, they were very informative and helpful. They weren't pushy at all. It was more of an inquiry into why I was seeking help and then following up with me on how they could help. They've given me a great deal of relief. They provided me a very clear way to get out of debt that I thought I was gonna be paying for the rest of my life in a matter of three years. They helped me through the rough moments too because I had a hard time with the concept of not meeting the minimum payment. They let me know that I was gonna have to go into default and they understood why that was hard for me and answered all my questions. They were really reassuring about the process. I've also recommended them to other people that I know.

My husband was diagnosed with congestive heart failure. He also has Parkinson's and high blood pressure. Our bills were mounting up because he was in a nursing home for five months and I had to pay for that. It was too much for me to handle. I called my daughter and told her to check out some place for me. She called me back for National Debt Relief and once I got their number, I called them and did the interview. Then, they sent me the forms in the mail and they've been handling them. I just have to put an amount of money every month and they take care of all the bills that I have. They've been calling me whenever they make a settlement.
20 years ago, I was in the same position and I had GreenPath. They did better in a way that they took all my bills together and then I paid an amount of money every month. Everything was pooled and they settled everything. But with National Debt Relief, I'm still getting calls from companies that I had placed with them to take care of. I think they just do one at a time and that's it. Also, I have a four-year plan and I told them four years is a lot. At the time they were the only company that I got and I should have checked out more companies instead of just rushing to doing it with them. I had no option because all the bills were piling up. But it took me longer than expected.

I was impressed with every single member of National Debt Relief. Everybody was so reassuring and saying, "This is your money. We're putting it in a place where were using your money to talk to these people and get it down to where we can get it paid off." I would call every once in a while and ask questions and not one person was short or unclear. My experience with them was very empowering and freeing. The heavy weight of the bills that I owe was taken off me. I also felt like I did something. It really made me want to make sure that I'm responsible with my bills and not get it out of hand again and not do credit cards. It was nice to be in a situation where I wasn't shamed or put down. It was great.

I was researching online about how I can get help with my credit cards and looked at National Debt Relief's reviews in the Better Business Bureau. Their reps were able to help in accommodating payments that I had to lower due to financial difficulties. Before, what I had to pay was too much and it became a struggle and a strain. It was either I go with National Debt Relief or file for bankruptcy. I haven’t had any problems with them so far, but I’m not out of debt yet. The only thing is that I would like to have a written statement sent to me via mail or email stating how much I owe and what have I paid in fees instead of having to call them to ask. I have to go through their the company that manages the bills. I log in, get a login member name, and it’s complicated.
I keep paying them monthly and I don’t know if I’m getting closer to my goal or not. I have no idea where my money is going and what they take out in fees which is a little unnerving. They have to charge something for their services and I have no other choice. I have looked around to see if I can get some other help with banks and credit unions, but there is nothing that I can see and I don’t want to deal with it. For most of us who are in debt like this, it’s a tremendous financial and emotional burden. It would help us to get some sort of “Hey, you’re doing fine. We’re getting towards our goal. We have this much time left and then you’re going to be debt free.” That would be nice to receive on a quarterly basis.
Otherwise, I do recommend National Debt Relief to people in my situation. So far, they’ve been collaborating nicely. They’re always nice, friendly and available to talk on the phone. When I had a problem renting an apartment, they wrote a letter that I was paying my bills on time and that I’m taking care of my debts. In that respect, they’re very personable. I’m hoping that I’ll be out of debt soon.

They said that if they come to an agreement to reduce the debt, there was an additional payment to the one that we had originally agreed, which is $257 a month. I had to pay an additional $74 for a couple of months and I wasn’t sure what that was for. But I don’t recall being mentioned in the initial negotiating process that in the event that we come to an agreement with a specific creditor, that you’ll be assessed for another amount of money in addition to the monthly amount. I wasn’t really clear on that. But I took care of it best I could with a little strain, financially. So it’s still the best process and I’m grateful for the assistance. When I was looking for help with debt and trying to figure out what my options were, I called National Debt Relief. It sounded like something that I could manage so I decided to go with them. They sounded competent enough and whoever I was speaking to was smart enough to understand what was going to help me and provide a solution. On one hand, it’s a good solution because I feel that the debt is being managed. However, I don’t know the downsides yet because it’s taking a long time. It’s somewhat expensive and all of my debts are not resolved yet. I thought I had an understanding at the beginning, but they led me to believe that it would be a four-year deal by the time I paid off my creditors and that the first year they would be in settlements with all the different creditors. However, it's been a couple of years now and we're still not in settlements with everybody and it's not good for my credit.
When I asked them about it, all they said was, “We explained that it takes a while to get into settlements and we can’t get into settlements until they agree to settle, and they are not gonna agree to settle until you haven’t paid for a long time. Even then, there has to be enough money in your account for the settlement.” Since I’m paying a monthly amount, I thought there would be funds in the account to pay out for settlements as well. I understand the math of what they are telling me now. But when it was first explained to me, it sounded like they had the skills to do the negotiating to make the math of initiating settlements within the one year mark so that the last three years is just paying the settlements off. I feel that it was slightly misleading. But it seems like it will resolve in a positive way unless things go dreadfully wrong.

When someone mentioned that National Debt Relief is very helpful in the long term, I looked into their service and got started right away with them. Their name took a lot of stress off me. It's the relief of thinking about how I got into this mess and how I could get out reasonably without adding more to what I owed. When I was paying to the bank what they said I owed, they would take my $300 or $400 minimum payment every month, but that was just for the interest, and the principal amount I owed never went down, so it was like throwing money into the fire. So, I really needed a company that could help me pay off my debts.
I have always paid my bills, but just had a bunch of stuff happening. National has been helpful since I lost my career job. I've had a job every two years, however, it was not anything to be proud of. So, I called National and gave them a heads-up, "Hey, I need a month off." They granted that and just added the payment on the end. So, I'm not behind on everything. I still have my monthly bills and my taxes, and once again I'm employed. If there's enough money in there, the National guys would say, "Okay, there's enough" for them to approach the business that I had a debt to and make an offer. It's usually what I originally owed minus the interest. So, they're pretty fair.
By working with National, I paid up all my debts, except for a last one I have with a Visa credit card that I'm working at and making payments. The creditors still send me letters saying that I owe them what National has already paid them. I faxed the documents to them, and they said, "It's just what companies do," and that they were just looking for me. If I had heard about National Debt Relief and gotten their services sooner, I could've been paying them now for their services and would've been farther ahead than just trying to pay my debts of.

I realized that in order to get stuff that I thought I needed, I was putting it on credit cards and got myself in trouble. So, that's when I looked up for National Debt Relief and I liked what I saw.
They talked to me and my husband to tell us what to do. After that, the only time we've heard from them was when they were able to pay somebody off. I wish though that that they could tell our creditors what they're helping us do because in the beginning and still to this day, some of the creditors haven't been notified yet that NDR is going to pay them. They thought that we've just quit. All I could tell the debt collector is that I've given them over to NDR and they asked when they're going to collect their money because that's all they care about. They call every week for the first couple of months and then finally, they quit. I'm now living by a very strict budget so that I can pay NDR and I have other bills that I have to pay and it's very hard but I'm trying to do the best I can. I pay NDR $330 a month and it's a lot of money, but it's going to a good cause paying off my debts. Overall, I'm very satisfied. I'm thankful that my debts are getting paid.
