    We weren’t getting anything done by trying to pay our debt this little bit and that little bit, and we were getting further and further behind. I saw National Debt Relief's advertisement on the internet. I looked them up on the Consumer Reports and they were at the top of the list. I figured if I was going to get somebody to do it, I might as well get the best. They filled up the debt that we had and lifted it out. They told us what it would cost us a month and what they would do. They’ve been right on top of it and it’s been unbelievable.     I was a graduate student with no income and I decided that I needed to do something about the interest rates that were being charged on my accounts. National Debt Relief was referred to me by the bank and they were very professional. Everyone I interacted with was very considerate and personable. They were people that I would enjoy talking to. National took a huge burden and offered the convenience that I otherwise would have only been able to start addressing two years later. One part that was disconcerting for me, though, was the credit score aspect, but the representatives did a good job of explaining that. Until I am able to settle the debt, it lowers the rating but eventually, it should be restored.

    I had credit card debt and instead of paying them down, I was paying just to get by. So, the values weren't going down and I was getting sick of that but National Debt Relief made it a whole lot simpler. Instead of having to pick out which credit card to pay this month, I just pay that one fee and I don't have to worry about them anymore. National Debt Relief have been nothing but good to me.     I had too much credit cards and it felt like I was not getting anywhere. Everyone from National Debt Relief that I spoke with was great. They explained a lot and had questions.     I was never behind on any of my payments and I was making at least the minimum on all of my credit cards, but it has gotten to the point where I didn’t have any money for myself. And every bill piled up and I got overwhelmed. So, I tried to get a loan from the bank and they denied me. They don’t really care why I was taking a loan out. They just cared if I'd be able to pay it back or not. When I looked into the National Debt Relief, they told me that they could get me to pay much less than what I owe, so I went with them. Also, what I was trying to do was get a loan so that I could pay everything off, so I can only have one payment a month. In fact, that's what the debt relief program is doing. It allows me to have one payment a month so that I can still be able to have a couple other things and be able to grocery shop and stuff, and knowing that payment is coming out.

    My credit will be down a hole for a little bit, but it’ll work itself back up. So far, National Debt Relief has been really good, and I really appreciate everything that they do. The only thing now is that the payments are getting a lot because I only have one job now. They’ve been looking into how to make my payments less too, especially because in less than six months, my income is going to triple. So, it's not like I can't pay it. I will pay it but it's just not right now. I told them that and they understand. In fact, I talked to them yesterday, and they're going to figure something out and give me a call.

    My personal experience working with National Debt Relief was excellent. I saw it online and they were considered the best. My son got really sick. I’m a postal worker so I have great insurance but even with that, I had to put a lot of his hospital bills on credit cards and then I got behind. We almost own our house and got no car payments. I just want to get rid of the debt because I don’t really need credit. I get an email from NDR first. The reps would call me once in a while and let me know that they settled. Everybody I ever talked to has been nice and they are good people. But it’s my wife who deals with them more because I gave her the power of attorney. Also, NDR has made my life easier. I don't have to deal with the creditors calling me constantly and if I have a problem, sometimes I get too many fax letters; and NDR takes care of all these. They are great and I'd suggest NDR to anybody who wants to get out of debt.

    I reached out to National Debt Relief feeling skeptical about the whole thing. Because who wants to admit they are so far in debt they need help? Didi ** is who helped me via email and phone. First off, I work night shift in the hospital and he called me at a time that worked with my schedule (which is a big help for me) and went over everything in terms that I understood.     I’ve been laid off for about eight months, but I had excellent credit prior to the layoff. I had a lot of it but it was manageable. Being without a job, I went on the whole drill fast and wanted to make sure that I was being responsible and trying to address my debt, even though it would be settled for less than what the original debt was.

    I went with National Debt Relief, but I didn't think that the communication was clear. I felt that I was in the dark. They wanted me to go to a portal to get status and that’s not something that I do. I would have appreciated a report e-mailed to me. I had asked for an explanation on what was their plan on addressing those issues or on addressing the various creditors. I did not know who they had contacted or hadn’t contacted or what the process for contacting them were or what the plan was. I did not feel like a real partner in the planning and knowledge of what was to happen. I then chose to stop using National Debt Relief's services. The communication was not as robust as it should be and that’s probably the height of my dissatisfaction as I like to know what the plan is.

    Rather than consolidate my debts, I looked into debt relief help because of the financial situation I was in. The first time I talked to the team members at National Debt Relief, I asked as many questions as I could and they explained the debt relief program to me.     I wanted to pay my debts and see that what I owe is paid off. National Debt Relief's representative asked about my income and what kind of bills I had. They used my credit data then called back and said I qualified and had to pay $213 every two weeks. I now sleep knowing that I'm paying my debts. The only downside is that my job closed and I can’t change my payment schedule which falls on the 1st and 16th of the month.     I had used the internet to find us a salvation company that we used to be with a long time ago and National Debt Relief came up as one of the answers to my query. We went with them because of the grittiness of our rep, George. He's very pushy in a good way. However, there was some misunderstanding about how the program worked initially. I was under the assumption that they would contact a company to settle a debt and then they would call us to tell us what the negotiation was. Then we would have the option to pay it right then and there, add extra money to it, or they would make monthly payments to them. But that wasn't the case. I think they don't talk to the companies to make or start a negotiation until they have the money and we didn't know that. That was shocking for us because we wanted to make the process as fast as they do it.

    So, I called back and spoke to someone else but she wasn’t really nice. But after that, I got a guy and he was super nice. He explained the process to me. Other than the misunderstanding in the beginning, they did really great. They're making life a little bit easier. George told us that our credit would be pretty much null and void but other than that, the process has been easy. They're also very easy to work with. I just send the paperwork that I get and they get a new deal from the creditors. I've been satisfied so far and everything’s great. National Debt Relief has been wonderful. We hope no one ever has to use them because that would mean they’re in hard times, but if they do, we would definitely recommend National Debt Relief.

    I am disappointed. I feel like once they get your permission to withdraw money from your bank, they stop responding to your emails. They gave me a wrong fax number to send my POA so now they ignore my emails and they don't have to talk to my creditors because they didn't receive the POA but can keep debiting my account. I emailed the man who set me up and NDR email. I always get an auto reply that someone will contact me and they never do. This is concerning. I may have to close my bank account if they don't respond soon.

    Updated on 06/07/2017: I explained before even signing up that I was not allowed to use my work phone. I take my lunch breaks at my desk. It's called on paid meal time. I also explained my phone only has limited minutes and I could only sign up if they can communicate with me by email not phone. They would respond to me quickly and not make me wait all day. They agreed to this. As soon as I provided my bank information, all that changed. They kept trying to get me to call. I went through several emails to several people telling them we had an agreement. I am forbidden to use the work phone.

    Truly I am disappointed in the communication and responses. I have been assigned different people. The 1st one stopped replying to my emails. 2nd one dodged all my highlighted questions and responded with answers that did not match the question. 3rd one said he would answer my questions and then the next thing I know there was someone else assigned. 4th person said I had to give them 24-48 hours to respond. Not even that happened. Never heard back from the last one. I have a list of questions that never got answered.

    I feel I should have stayed with my own budget plan or contacted the creditors myself. NDR wants me to do all the work. They wanted me to make payments directly to my creditors on top of what I was already paying them, call my creditors and close my accounts. The main reason for doing this is so I could save money and not have to talk to the creditors. I am just making my payments for the allotted time and then I will be done.

    I'd thought about getting relief help for a few weeks before I took the steps in starting my research, and National Debt Relief had the best rating as far as the research that I did. I got a phone call from their team the same day that I submitted online asking for more information. They checked out all my information and they showed concern for my debts or the reason that I'm calling and also the bills that I have going on right there and then. I had six to seven credit cards, which didn't sound like a lot but if you add up my rent and spendings at home and gas, it seemed like a lot.     I saw that there were some positive reviews for National Debt Relief. I then made a phone call to see what they had to offer. Getting things set up with them was really good and positive but it was really slow getting started with the program and getting things negotiated. When I called to get some explanation, I get a run-around. In one of the negotiation settlements, I wasn't really in agreement with it and I had a push-back and said, "We won't continue negotiations if you don't agree with it. We'll just drop it and you'll have to figure it out." I didn't really like that response. I feel like there should be some improvement with the negotiations. When a client paying them for these types of negotiations don't agree with it, they should try to go back and try to renegotiate something on behalf of the customer.

    Everything has been pretty well working with National Debt Relief except for the fact that they are slow in terms of contacting. I really wish that they would communicate with all the creditors on my list, let them know what they are doing, how it's going to be done, and then go from there. They were supposed to get all the information they needed. There's about a few creditors that's still calling me because of the fact that nobody has talked with them at all. It's not the experiences that I thought it would be. But in talking with these people that they should be dealing with, NDR is not quite doing what I would like to see it done. I'm hoping that they would talk to people who are competent and get something arranged. But other than that, I don't have any complaints.

    I can't afford whole of my debts of bills from credit cards because my salary income can't match them. So, Christal ** of NDR, I never meet her in person at New York, she is really very friendly and her communication-respect with me deaf client with the Videophone Relay Service (ASL interpreters) on our phone. She did great job! NDR another reps did great job too! I'm still looking forward to see NDR beat them. If my deaf friends have big trouble their debts, I will refer them from NDR best!
