    When I first contacted this company online, I received a phone call the next morning. Everything was explained in terms I could understand.     I called NDR because I needed help with my debt. I knew that I myself could not get it done alone. Mr. ** answered and calmly told me everything about NDR. He explained all of the different ways this company could and would support me. After doing all of this, he even said not to make a decision without talking with my wife about it. He also said to "sleep on it" before we made a decision. I am 61 years young and I have never heard anyone ever say that. He made it clear that I was not to make a pressure decision. He told me to discuss it with my wife and that he would call the next day. I am very happy with our decision to use this company to help us. It even comes with attorneys that would defend us in court should one of the creditors sue us. This was music to our ears. I would recommend Mr. ** for anyone interested in getting help from NDR.     National Debt Relief is helping me out but their rates are high. I paid 50-50 as far as their fee and the settlement amount so if it was 25% of the fee and that certain settlement, it will be a lot better for me. But one thing they don't indulge is that the savings that I get from these settlements come back to me from the IRS at 33% of what they knocked off so on top of that 22%, the IRS charges me 33% and that's if the settlement company filed their claim for their losses. It was something I didn't understand until after I was two years in and I started getting letters from the IRS about additional income. So now on top of the $590 I pay National Debt Relief every month, I have a bill for the IRS for the next year and a half for $150 a month. It's still cheaper than paying it all straight out, but I'm only ending with about a 20% decrease.

    Also, National Debt Relief doesn't inform people percentage-wise what should be paid back. It sounds good when they go to the fractions of what I owe but I realize that it still leaves 80%. When I hear fractions, they say less than 50% but I end up paying a lot more than what I thought I was going to have to pay. The settlements they offer look beautiful and they will settle some but they're not going to settle a whole lot like some of the creditors did. My credit record was bad but it took a dive once they told me not to pay anybody unless they’ve handled it. I could have worked with the creditors I owe and probably come out near what I’m paying now. I went through something similar a while back but I was able to work with creditors and get things straightened out. But the way NDR offered their product and the final result are not exactly the same as what they advertised.

    All in all, I'm not dissatisfied with National Debt Relief but they lack some information that was held with my decision as far as the IRS issue. They got me down to six creditors now and three of those are 50% paid off. It’s working but I’m not all the way happy with how it went. I regret what I did but I’m so far in that I can’t turn back.

    We were a low-income family and had some credit cards. We started doing some research and National Debt Relief was the first or second-rated company, as far as consumer ratings. The rep that assisted us with paying the account and gathered all of our information was real helpful and good about following up and keeping us informed, as far as the process. Every time there was something new, he would give me a call and let me know. Every time we've called in to switch up the payment or if we can't make it that month, they're always real good about explaining the process and making sure that we'd get back on track.

    Working with National Debt Relief has definitely taken a weight off our shoulders. Credit card companies unintentionally make us feel like criminals, and in our case, that's exactly what happened and we couldn't help what was going on in our lives then. And the assurance that things are getting taken care of was the most important thing at that time. The representatives do a great job. They had a way of explaining things to assist the customer in understanding what was going to be done. It's been a good experience and so far, we've been pretty satisfied.

    Easy process so far. They're doing their job and they haven't made me feel I had to go out of my way to do anything other than what they ask me. They've been courteous and easy to work with. They'll be working with me for three years. I was having to try and juggle which one I'd pay, and which one I won't. It’s a lot to keep track of and figure out what to do and contact them when you are behind.     Christmas had just put me over the limit with my credit cards, and I was having a hard time getting caught up. I was getting nowhere. National Debt Relief were good at notifying me every time they’re ready to start making payments with somebody. Any questions or anything that I have, if I call them, they’re good at answering it. Having them has been a great relief. I don’t get harassing phone calls and I don’t have to worry about how I’m going to come up with the money. I make the one payment and I let them worry about it.     I went online and looked up debt consolidation and National Debt Relief were the first people to pull up. They were on TV a lot and that's what made me interested in them. Their service is more about getting rid of debt than relief help. They worked with a handful of creditors. I owed $2,000 to $3,000 way back in 2008 and they deducted it down to $200. That made me really impressed with them. They also kept in communication with me with a lot of things that were going on and called me when they had deals that I have the option of declining or telling them to go back and negotiate. My credit scores went up with them with the debt being settled and they have declined my income-debt ratio. Overall I will recommend them.

    I was trying to get a loan but I couldn't get one and National Debt Relief is the only other avenue that I could push through. It's been an up-and-down battle per se. One of the cases went into a lawsuit, which I felt was their fault. I sent them the information from the attorney's office so that they could contact the company within the timeframe that was allotted and listed in the letter but they didn't contact them until a month or so after. The company went ahead and took a lawsuit out against me. Then, two or three days after I called back to scream, yell and complain about it, all of a sudden, a settlement materialized. But as far as it goes with that, I wasn't very happy at all. I've worked for a law firm for the last 15 years and we do debt collections and stuff of that nature. I could have used my law firm to take care of all this but I don't want anybody in my personal business.

    I don't feel some of them at NDR are knowledgeable. When I called about the litigation thing the first time, they told me that I needed to provide them with the copy of the summary of the complaint. I have provided them with exactly what was sent to me and they asked for the copy of the complaint, which has all the questions in it that the legal team there would need to respond in order to answer the complaint. They kept telling me it's my responsibility but if they would go on to eCourt, they can get that. There are about 10-15 creditors and out of them, they've only settled three since I started in October. They get a fee for everything that they do for me. I'm paying them so they should do their job.

    Me using them to try to assess within one to three years, I'll be debt-free but it was also stochastic with the creditors because when they know that you're working with a debt relief company, they're not as quick to file lawsuits. They're more apt to work with the debt relief company to come up with some type of agreement.

    However, people have to stay on top of their debtors when they're sending information. And once the information is passed on to National Debt Relief, they need to stay on top of NDR because to me, it feels like NDR will let things slip through the crack like they're charging me a fee for every settlement that I get. But on the same token, there are no updates. I have no idea what's going on with the other 7-12 creditors that are listed with them. There’s no status report after what's going on so I'm left in limbo. Also, they don't call you back when they tell you they're going to. I don't have a good comfortable level when it comes to NDR. If I had to do it all over again and if I would have known them like how I know them now, I may not have even joined. It's been a dissatisfying and selfish experience.

    I had a bunch of credit cards that I was not able to handle anymore so I worked with National Debt Relief. When I signed up, I talked to a very nice gentleman who was always available to talk to. All of them have made the process very pleasant and painless. A couple of them actually have used National Debt Relief's service, so they knew what I was going through. There were seven cards so I was in deep, and my husband had no idea until I finally told him and he was really mad.

    But I am a lot less stressed about it because National Debt Relief handles everything and I don't get any phone calls anymore. When NDR calls me, they are always really preppy. “Congratulations! It’ll be a year next month and I know that I should already have three being paid off completely. I don’t have to worry about them anymore. One card was $4,000 but they negotiated it down to one.

    They said, “Don’t worry about it. We’ll do the negotiations, keep you in touch and also, make sure you have an account.” I signed up in their website online so I could see every single transaction there. It shows the percentage of completion and what is being done. It breaks it down well. So everything was very positive and I was very grateful.

    At first, I was scared to do this. And sometimes I'm a little weary when I see commercials that say, “Oh, we’ll get you debt free in so many months or so many years and you’re gonna be great.” They're a great company so I'm glad they advertise even if not that much. Although at the very beginning, it’s frustrating that I don't see anything happening because I have to accumulate a certain amount of money in the account. They break it down and make it so that I can afford to send them a monthly amount and then once there’s an accumulation of money there, they start to distribute it. The company walked me through everything. I can call them as many times I want. They held my hand through the entire process, which makes it very nice. I can’t recommend them more.

    Also, there were penalties to begin with because my credit is gonna be going down because I'm not paying. And National Debt Relief is telling me I can’t pay them because our negotiations will be for naught. If I pay them, they’re just gonna continue to harass me and tell me I have to pay them or they’ll try to tell me, “Hey, you know why don’t you just pay a little bit and it won’t look so bad.” But National Debt Relief was like, “You don’t have to do that in order for us to actually help you.” So my credit went down, but I have noticed that it’s going up again, slowly but surely. Two or three years seems a long time, but in the long run, it'll be better.

    I was spending more on the cards than I was able to put towards them and I just couldn’t do it anymore. It has been fairly well talking to their representatives. However, there was one that didn’t go well. It was on the first settlement and the conversation was very confusing. The guy wasn’t describing to me what was going on and it was annoying. I just wasn’t understanding exactly what he was saying, and I had to get someone else on the line to explain it to me.

    Working with National Debt Relief has definitely relieved some of the stress. Having it all clumped in and working to get them settled in one payment has been nice. But over the last two months, it hasn’t quite been as easy because I've been called a couple of times on two different settlements with the same creditor. Each time, National Debt Relief has been wanting me to pay more than the agreed upon monthly payment. They wanted this creditor to be paid off in seven months. The money is just not there in the account and the monthly payment is used up until October. They want me to put forth another $700 a month into the program. They called me last night again on the same creditor and wanted me to do the same thing. I said I can't do it. I had to hang up on them because they weren't listening to me about it.

    Also, it would've been nice if they have explained a little bit better on how the fees are working on and how they get paid. I was on the impression they take it out after the full account has been agreed upon and paid. Obviously, that isn't the case and I'm learning that now. I had a little bit of money come and I have put a bunch of extra money in the account to get things paid off faster. Most of that went to fees. After they settled on two accounts, they took all their fees out. That was annoying. That money could’ve gone to the bills. It was a little misleading.

    I heard about them on KFI radio station, Bill Handel on the Law was advertising them. I was at an event in Orange County and then I saw him and introduced myself. I wanted to meet him in person because I hear him every day. I was telling him about the National Debt Relief and he said, “Yeah, it's the real deal, blah, blah, blah”. So, I went ahead and gave it a shot. I was leery in the beginning and then when I started to get results which don’t start right away, I was very happy and continue to be because it's not completely over yet.

    I was nervous but I stepped out in faith because I didn’t know what to do. My next alternative would have been to file bankruptcy. I don’t want to do that because I did buy everything and I should pay for it. If there was something wrong with me, if I was disabled or where I couldn’t work and I didn’t have the ability to pay, it would be the only option. But I am working. I just can't pay everything the way they want me to. I got laid off and then my new job makes a lot less money, which put me in that financial situation.

    I reached someone in New York and you know that old cliché, “don’t trust New Yorkers?” I was nervous and uneasy about it. I was worried that I signed everything. As the months moved on and I'm getting all these phones calls and emails from all my debtors, it made me more nervous and nothing was happening. Then all of a sudden, fourth month into it, things started to happen. It is a very slow process in the beginning, but it does work. They have been making settlements that are unreal. I didn’t even think that was possible.

    I even had one of my debtors tell me, “Well, we're not going to be able to deal with them if they even reach out to us, so you might as well just make payments to us. Otherwise, we're going to do this and that.” I told National Debt Relief what they said and they go, “Those are just threat calls. They’ll say anything to get money from you. We're going to take care of it. We just haven’t gotten down to that particular debtor yet.” They finally did and reached settlement. So, I highly recommend it to anybody that is in the same boat as I was.

    I love their online tool. Everything is right there. It shows you the status of where they're at for each debtor and how close they are to getting a settlement. It’s nice and it shows you how much money they’ve already deducted because they debit your account every month, so that they can pay those settlements. It shows me how much they’ve taken out, how much has been applied and to whom and how much. The overall experience with them has been so refreshing and I feel alive again, I can face the world.

The reps at National Debt Relief were really helpful and answered a lot of questions. But they left some pretty big details out when I first signed up. The rep told me it’s gonna take 12 months to a year and a half but now I'm told that it’s gonna take up to three years. And that’s terrible to me.     I was trying to get my debt consolidated so I got in touch with National Debt Relief. They were very helpful. They tried to walk me through step-by-step. I could call them if I had any questions. They were very concerned, and called me to make sure everything was okay. They were very easy to get a hold of and they’ve reached out several times even when I wasn’t able to call them back. But right now, I had to put a hold on everything because I had a loss of income. And they gave me until June to call them back to see when we can restart everything.     The experience has really hurt my credit. Also, there are things that happened that I didn't get extra help figuring out when my awareness on the possibility wasn't clear, such as being hit by extra taxes on the money saved by a creditor. I owed taxes with very little notice that I had to pay, hurting my budget by a lot. Also, lowering payments helped, especially since having my baby, but to do so they had to shoot up really high down the road, which I still can't afford. I'm not sure how I'll work it out when those hit. It's been a long and hard "road" working with this company. And things weren't always clear... and there was no "since you experienced this, let us help you in this way," even if small kind of reparation. Just, "I understand, I'm sorry, there's nothing I can do."

    Was with National Debt Relief for over a year. They only settled two accounts once the creditors brought a lawsuit. Between the settlement and their fees didn't really save any money. End up settling accounts on my own within one month and saved more money. Not sure why they dragged and played around, wasn't too happy they charged me fees for a settlement that got dropped. Had to contact BBB in order to get my money back, again they work but ruin your credit when you can contact the creditors and get the same settlement amounts without having to pay fees.

    My once-fiancé and I thought that investing in a program, wherein you spend a lot of money but make three times the money with real estate. So, we went to schooling but it was $40,000 worth of money that we had to put down. We did that on cards. The only thing that happened was our credit card bills piled up month after month.     I had too much debt and I wasn't able to manage it. It was out of control and I couldn't get a consolidation loan to take care of my bills or credit cards. I didn't have any other choice. It was either get relief help or file bankruptcy so I went with National Debt Relief. The team has been great. They're super courteous and they've been very nice, helpful and understanding. At first, they were very deflective when I would ask them how it's gonna impact my credit. They just wanted to get me enrolled in the program. But they've come through with everything that they said they will.

    They took over the debt and acted on my behalf to settle it with the creditor but what they do is they wait until it goes into default and it negatively impacts your credit. My score has dropped to the 400s. I was probably in the mid-600s to the high 400s. It's crazy. Also, if you enroll in their program, you sign an agreement stating that you will not open up any credit or unsecured debt. I haven't done that but a couple of weeks ago, they called me and offered me a loan at 32% interest to pay off the remainder of the debt. The original debt is going to be paid off to National Debt Relief, according to my agreement with them, in Feb or March of 2018. But they were gonna approve me for a loan at 32% interest and the loan wasn't gonna be paid off until 2019.

    It feels like they're taking advantage of the situation but an organization like NDR should live up to their mission statement and shouldn't do that. I told them I wasn't gonna take the 32% interest rate loan, and they said it'll keep people from suing me. But according to our recorded conversation, people are not supposed to sue me and NDR is supposed to act on my behalf in the event that something like that is to happen. I was wondering if that is something that has been renegotiated without my understanding but they said that they will still renegotiate.

    They also said the loan will make my credit score better but they've said I could do that once they settle all the debt. I told them I don't need the extra loan or the interest. We'll just maintain what we're doing and move forward in this direction with the original agreement which is what I wanted to do. I fully intend on paying off the remainder of the payments before the program ends so that they can go ahead and settle it as quickly as they can. But that was a little shady on their end. It's asinine and it defeats the purpose of getting out of debt. NDR should be trying to help people get out of debt, not get them back into it. It's wrong to do this to somebody.

    Overall I'm thankful and there is a relief of not having the stress on my shoulders knowing that things are being taken care of. But National Debt Relief should be the last resort for anybody because it ruined my credit to the point where I desperately need to move out of the place that I'm in and I can't get anybody to approve a rental application to even move. It's embarrassing and it's concerning because I need to move for work and I can't. I'm driving 70+ miles a day to work because I can't find a place to live. It's that bad. It's something where you're damned if you do and damned if you don't. It's funny because the credit system and all of this money system that we have, where we live in the United States, has a funny way of screwing people over that really need the help.

I have talked to other so-called debt relief programs and none of them went into great detail of how they could actually help me. The first thing they stated was how much it would cost after getting my credit report. It wasn't like that with National Debt Relief. They went through everything about the program, what and how things would be done, what my responsibilities would be, how they would work with the companies, what they do with the money I send in and then, after all that, they told me what it would cost.     I've got a few credit cards that are still maxed out. Some of the accounts have been closed because of NDR. Bottom-line is I looked into relief help because of the credit card debt. Initially I called in and they broke everything down for me. I provided credit card information and through email, I did a digital signature on a contract. One of the representatives will call me when they have reached a settlement or an agreement with one of my creditors and they will tell me, “okay, based off of the funds that you have in your account, we can pay this off completely or a portion and then you will have to pay X million dollars to meet the rest of the payout”.

    They’ve been successful in closing out some of the cards. They have followed through with what they’ve said they were going to do as far as expectations. They didn’t promise anything definitively like, “we'll close out X many cards by the end of this”. It's been good so far. Ideally, I like to have all my cards closed out in six months or so, but I get it. This kind of things takes time. Overall a good experience so far.

    There is one thing I am not too pleased about. There is one recent account where they reached a settlement with one of my creditors. The stipulation was that the amount of the close out exceeded what I had in my escrow account. What the creditor told NDR was that we will take 12 months or less than that of payments, small payments and at the end of the 12 months, this account will be closed. So, I asked NDR if we can take the funds that are in my account, give them those funds and I will pay the remaining amount out of pocket. And they said no. I asked them why and they said because of the negotiation terms, that’s not an option. The way this works is I will have to follow this process or what's been put in place and I also asked, from my perspective and my credit, “if NDR is going to pay this off, then at the end of the day, I'm just paying NDR in small payments over a period of 12 months?”

    My motivation behind that is to get this card off my credit and it can begin to clean up and I can get my score up in a reasonable amount of time instead of waiting 12 months. It's finally cleared, but it's going to sit on my credit report for some time. That wasn’t an option. I get it to an extent. It's not something that we talked about at the beginning. It's just because you're going to think of things like that scenario, the what if things. So that would have been good if they could work with me more, but I get it. Obviously, I'm the one who put myself in this position and they're just playing the game. He’s doing what was told. If I had a complaint, that would be it right there, but other than that, not bad at all. Things are getting done and the idea is to see better days once all this is done.

    I put my trust in Better Business Bureau. And because they accredit National Debt Relief an A plus while other locations didn’t really have great ratings or weren’t on BBB at all, I decided to sign up with National. But it turns out that it wasn’t everything I expected it to be. I contacted them to ask why it’s taking so long to reflect on my credit report that my debts are being taken care of. When I spoke with them they said that they told me this in the beginning. I've been on the program since August but so far, they have only handled three of the 15 accounts that I have with them and my credit report is still being dramatically affected because of this.

    They’re actually taking a lot out of funding just for their purposes to be paid instead of paying towards the creditors. They said that they’re negotiating with the other companies, but when you go on the website it does not say, “In negotiation process”. It just says it’s pending. They said it won't reflect on the website until it’s resolved, and then it’ll say “Payment processed”. It’ll tell you the settlement amount that they settled with the company for then it’ll show you the fees that they’ve paid towards themselves in order to handle the transaction and the actual deposit that are being made towards that amount that it gets paid off.

    Every time I'm depositing money thinking that my cards are being taken care of, the fee automatically goes to National Debt Relief first, and then they go and handle negotiations. I have to wait the next month for another deposit to go through and then the remaining take their sum from it and put whatever small amount towards the balances being paid off. I asked them when I started if $367 was going to be enough for them to handle the negotiation processes, and they said, “Yes, $367 will be fine. We will be able to go ahead and handle all your accounts.” They made it seem that they were going to take $367 and divide it by 15 payments and then start doing payments into these other cards. Yet none of them have been touched. They also told me that I needed to wait anywhere from 120 to 140 days and accumulate interest and late fees within that time period before they could even start the negotiation processes.

    As soon as some of them close out or are in negotiation, I'm really debating whether or not I should even continue with the program because it’s not really benefiting me at all. The accounts that they did handle were current at the time and they said that they wanted all the cards with all the balances over $500. One of them had $548 and I was making payments on it without any problems and things were up-to-date. But as soon as I entered National Debt Relief and put it on the program, I stopped making payments per their request, and that’s when I started getting late charges, and interest charges racked onto that $548 that was due at the time.

    I had a significant amount of credit prior to signing up with National. I asked them how long it would take before I would start seeing an improvement towards my credit report because I figured, “Hey, I’m paying towards these already, I should start to show something,” and they said, “Oh, no. You have about three years before it will even show any effect on your credit report.” I didn’t think that it will take this long. I’m currently not happy with them.

    We have been very happy with the deals that were made with our creditors, which saved us quite a bit of money. Apparently we did not fully understand how this worked however, as we thought that all our creditors would be contacted and then as money accrued in our account, settlement amounts would be reached. As far as I can tell only 2 creditors have been contacted, and there is a list of debt that has not been addressed. Our phone calls have stopped but we are still being contacted by e-mail and mail and late fees and interest continue to build. And for this month, one creditor insisted on a bigger amount than available so we are having to scramble to come up with the extra payments. This is a wonderful program and it does save us money, but our credit scores have tanked and I wonder if bankruptcy would have been the better way to go.
