    I signed up with National Debt Relief program in September of last year after being swamped in debt. Being a single mother of two with a heart condition I almost could not breathe. After being in this program for a couple of months 2 of my 5 accounts have been settled and paid off.     We had some charge accounts and we couldn't meet the payments anymore. And with all the interests, we just wanted to get out of that. At first, we were getting so many letters from all the different charge account companies and we really felt bad about that. But the reps at National Debt Relief were all very helpful and encouraging. They also kept reassuring us that everything will be straightened out. We let them know every time we got a bill and they helped us through it. Now things are going so much better. We're not getting letters and hearing from the companies anymore.

    I was in a car accident. I was out of work for three months and got behind on my bills. I have a family and had no idea how I was going to pay my debts. National Debt Relief has done everything I've asked so far and they've resolved a couple of my creditors within six months. Everyone in their team has been great. I've called their customer service several times and they're always right on top of everything. The person that helped me the most was Andrew. He's the one who I initially had the conversation with and set up a program. He told me what that's going to take, what was needed, and told me how the whole thing would go.

    I think it's a better option than bankruptcy. I appreciate that they were honest and told me that it's going to be a certain way and that's the way it was. They have never sugarcoated anything for me. They let me know straight up and ahead of time what this was going to do and how it was going to affect me. I guess the only complaint that I've had is it's destroying my credit report. But it has nothing to do with National Debt Relief. I was the one that got myself in this mess, and they're just trying to help me resolve it. My phone was blowing up before, but now I definitely get less stressed.

    The communication can become a nuisance when you have obligations occurring during the day. I have received repeated phone calls throughout the day and even so after speaking with someone and finding solution. I had to repeat an issue numerous times to get the point across for solution in a legal matter and grew extremely frustrated.     It takes NDR several months to get the creditors off your back, but since they've started negotiations, all but one of many creditors have ceased trying to call. Once negotiations are in progress with the final creditor, I won't be receiving any telephone calls from a bank! Every time I have talked with a representative at NDR they have been knowledgeable and very friendly and yes, I would recommend them to anyone who wants to bypass bankruptcy. My FICO score is shot but it's only a matter of time until it goes up again.

    The greatest personal benefit from my working with NDR was that they were very effective at deflecting creditor calls away from me. I opened my account with NDR in December of 2013, and just finished paying off my last creditor in June 2017. After opening my account and following instructions to direct creditors to NDR, I received almost no direct calls from creditors. All phone representatives I spoke with at NDR throughout the 3.5 years were very professional and courteous, though some were more knowledgeable than others.

    At first, NDR was very aggressive at pursuing negotiated payment terms with my creditors, maximizing my available income to close accounts quickly and calling me with negotiated settlement offers. They were very prompt in responding to court filings, etc. But by 2016, after I'd surpassed the halfway point of closing out all my accounts, it seemed there was no activity taking place unless I initiated contact to spur NDR to pursue the next account.

    I was also not informed of the true total costs of doing business with NDR. They touted the average settlement value of less than 50% of the outstanding account balance, but was not as clear when outlining the total fees, nor in explaining that NDR would prioritize collecting on their fees over paying out my debts. While the settlements were less than 50% of the outstanding account balances, after fees to NDR and Global Client Solutions and paying the tax burden (which was never mentioned) on the forgiven debt, I realized an average of only 10% - 15% payment reduction of the total debt. And my credit rating was reduced considerably - yet another caveat not explained before opening my NDR account. In fact, they touted helping me to preserve or even improve my credit rating by working with them prior to my signing up.

    Although I was able to close out all my outstanding credit accounts, it was more through my elimination of all credit usage and having a structured payment to my escrow account at GCS than because of NDR's methods. I would not use a service like NDR again nor recommend it. Free credit counseling services along with disciplined credit management is a far better way to go.

    I never could have paid off my debt of over $11,000 in less than 3 years without the help of this company. My deposits were manageable and all resolutions were cleared through me personally.     The marketing material advertises "no hidden fees" but they require two "hidden" monthly fees: one goes to the bank account to hold your money and the other to a legal team to retain them in case there is a problem. It's about $22/month in extras that are not advertised. On top of that, you'll pay a fee for each payment transfer (phone transfer fee is what they told me) to pay the settlement to the creditor of $1.50 and the commission percentage of the debt settlement. I would think they could pay the $1.50 with what they charge for their services and what their mandatory monthly bank fees are (my bank is free, how about yours?).

    It's taken more than one year for them to settle my debt (one is still open) and I only had two accounts to settle; which results in a lot of extra fees and extra dings on my credit report because it gets reported each month. I have to keep calling to get a status update. It feels like they settled one creditor and then forgot about my account. Each time I call I get the same answer as three months ago. This solution was better than bankruptcy after an accident resulted in a ridiculous amount of medical debt on credit cards, but I'm thinking there is a better company out there to work with.

    When I was looking for a means to consolidate my debt I never thought about what the National Debt Relief does for people and that it would work for me. I have been enrolled in the program since January and so far, I have been pleased to the max! I would say they helped me feel a little bit better about getting a hold of my debt.     I have just started the program in the last few months. I am grateful for this opportunity to help me get out of debt. My debt has been overwhelming and it is nice to know that there is an end to it at some point. I do not know how the program is exactly supposed to work. I have not seen any progress toward settling my debts, but I do not have a lot of money in my account either. I do get calls from my creditors who seem to ignore that I am working with National Debt Relief. When should I expect to see my creditors being contacted and start being settled with? How do I best help your company to work on my behalf? Since starting the program, I haven't seen any movement. I know it is early, but it would be nice to know when to expect something.     When I entered into this program, I was lead to believe that my priorities would be their priorities. Unfortunately this has not been the case. While they have settled 2 credit card debts, they have yet to prove they can actually settle any of my outstanding loans. I was also under the impression that the intense creditor calls would cease once they began handling my affairs but they have not. I wish there was a message board that I could review so I know exactly how each account is being handled. When I call NDR, I am given different versions of how things are being handled each time. I'm still trying to determine if I made the best choice.

The only thing I didn't know is that my credit would be messed up because they instructed me not to pay anything while they were negotiating with the creditors to lower the balances. I was under the impression that they would consolidate the debt but on my credit it just looked like I stopped paying for 6 months.     There are 2 matters which cause me to not be satisfied with National Debt Relief: 1.) You have chosen to pay off the largest debt first, which causing a delay for the others to be dealt with. If you had chosen to pay off the smaller ones first I would have satisfied the payoff of at least one or two companies already. 2.) On more than one occasion you have contacted me under the guise of reviewing my case but really to try to sell me products, such as a loan to more quickly "pay off my debt". I became quite angry the last time that I was contacted for this and so it has been several months without a call. Perhaps I have been place on the Don't-Bother-This-One-List. I feel that you are preying on your own customers, many of which are in their situation for having borrowed too much money... Very predatory on your part.

    The calls to start the program were very fast but once I started making payments I didn't hear anything about the progress. I still had creditors calling me six weeks after beginning so far. Some creditors even told me that they do not work with National Debt Relief and said that they would keep calling unless I submit to using their own debt relief programs.

    I wasn't fully aware at the beginning of the program that my pay would have to substantially increase.     If I could have waited until all my creditors were over 120 days late, I would have waited because in some I wasn't even late yet when I signed up and all it did was make National Debt collect their fees from me for the past 4 months without having to do a thing. They just barely started negotiating with my creditors as I've just recently reached the 120 day late mark, which makes me mad because I could have saved me all that money that National Debt has collected for themselves for doing nothing for the past 4 months. I just barely received notices that they have started negotiating with my creditors, but it took over 4 months to do this. My advice to anyone who wants to consolidate, wait until you're over 120 days late on your payments otherwise you're going to be paying National Debt to do nothing until you reach your 120 late on payments. And their fees aren't cheap either.

    So far I have received 3 threatening letters from some of the Businesses. When I called them, all three of them told me that no one from your company has contacted them. My only negative was the surprise that you pay the accounts monthly, not all at once, even when I have the money in my account to do so.     Overall it is a good program. Our biggest concern is the fact that it takes forever for each individual debt to be resolved. We continue to get calls from collection agencies and there does not seem to be any indication that the agencies are aware that we are working with National Debt Relief. I also wish there was monthly communication. I cannot access my account online, which is also a problem. I still think this was the best decision we ever made and we hope to be debt free within four years.
