    I took one star away because I had to pay $300 more than estimated. Money is very tight for me so that was disappointing.     I had been involved with a different credit/debt consolidation company and when I looked at the ad I decided to give National Debt Relief a call.     I retired and I'm tired of paying the creditors 18-20% interest. I was throwing in a little more than the minimum each month but it didn't seem to make that much of a difference. This past September, I looked into debt relief and read through it. National Debt Relief contacted me and they were able to settle one of the bigger debts for a very surprising amount. They asked if I could add more money for three months and I did.

    This is an embarrassing situation but National never ever made me feel embarrassed or feel like I was ripping somebody off. I’ve been ripped off for years and years with creditors. I figured that if they wanna settle, I’d be glad to do that. It took a few months but after that, National was able to satisfy two of my debts very quickly for less and a half of what I owed which was amazing. I've only been with them since this past October but I'm very pleased. Hopefully, they'll contact me again and let me know they got another one taken care off.     I was informed when I called NDR that my financial hardship could be resolved. They structured a reasonable plan to follow and let me know upfront that resolving my finances was gonna take time.     This process went well until the very end. In December 2016, we asked for our final payoff. It was given and the draft was submitted while I was on the phone with them. A few weeks later they called and said we owed MORE money. They still call every few weeks saying that it wasn't paid in full. I have a witness to the phone call, and it was made plain several time that we wanted to complete the payoff. Their refusal to provide final program "graduation papers" has left an extremely bitter taste in my mouth. They got all of my creditors paid off, and I am happy about that, but then they don't want to acknowledge completion.

    We are new with NDR and are hoping things get better. So far, not much to like. The biggest problem is that GCS continually takes their draws before the scheduled date, causing checks to bounce and fees to be levied by our bank at $26 a pop. Our cash flow is budgeted out to the penny, so we REALLY need them to take the money out AFTER our income is deposited in the bank, not BEFORE. I've asked repeatedly for them to adhere to the schedule to no avail. HELP! I have other concerns but seem to be out of room!

    I have never had a bad experience so far with anyone I have dealt with on the phone. Everything has went very well. They are always kind and explain things for thorough and offer great advice.     It seems as every time I call to try to expedite any settlement after "extra funds" have been added I get the run around. A high percentage is already being paid to National Debt Relief to try to settle the accounts and the staff has not been very helpful at all. For anyone considering debt consolidation consider doing it on your own. The only reason for hiring NDR was for ease of access and to allow them to take care of all the "issues". When calling it just feels as if the staff does not care about my finances or my financial well being. The system is not LEAN and I can only hope that for future clients that National Debt Relief put an emphasis and focus on the clients.

    I needed assistance to get rid of the credit cards so I could build my credit up again and do some things. The other company I've tried only removed negative items but I still had to pay the credit card. Then I went with National Debt Relief and they've taken care of a couple of credit cards. I got a call yesterday from a restricted number and I asked them not to call me back from a restricted number. They gave me solutions on how to deal with the creditors. They advised me to give their number to the creditors if they call, fax them if I get anything in the mail and change my address to their address, they'll take care of it.

    They're all courteous and they give me the best solutions and information regarding how they're working with the creditors to agree to a settlement. On the other hand, I'm paying them $259 a month and I'm still getting calls from creditors. I know it's not going to be resolved overnight but they're too slow and I haven't heard anything being removed from this month.

    So far I'm pleased with the program. Started in May and one account has been resolved. Just waiting to pay that off and getting confirmation from creditor on account being settled. The negative part of the program is not paying accounts which puts a negative impact on credit score. This was explained prior to signing up and I understand why they are doing it. It seems some of the other creditors are pushing back more with constant phone calls and mail about account being past due.     A good choice for those who don't want to go with Consumer Credit Counseling and their attempts to hook you up with more credit cards. If you elect to have them legally represent you for an added monthly fee it almost ensures that your creditors won't walk away from the negotiations. Just change your creditors bills' address field, don't take any calls from creditors, and you'll find yourself paying about 3/5 of you original debt at an amount you can afford.
