    I decided to look into relief help because I lost my second job and I depended on that and so, I couldn't keep up with my bills. At first, I spoke to somebody from National Debt Relief and they said they would send me the information. I had to go through email process approval and so forth. They were very courteous but, unfortunately, what I was told is not what is happening now.

    I was told that they would be paid off directly. But what National Debt Relief is doing is they're negotiating with the credit cards and they're scheduling monthly payments. So I understood that I will keep on putting money in the account and they would pay that off. Then negotiate another and pay that off too. Whatever it is they're doing and then charging me for is something I could have done myself. I'm not very happy with it at all right now.

    The only thing they offer is the protection which I haven't utilized yet. They should also have more information and not rush the process like they did with me. They should as well do what they say they're going to do rather than say something and do something else. So now, I'm in the process of trying to find some other source to go to. And it's really hard 'cause it seems like when you already consolidate, nobody else wants to do it. It's also hard for me to consolidate with somebody who's been active with lump sum payments rather than monthly payments.

    I acted out of desperation. Consumers should be aware that they should call their creditors and try and resolves their hardships before using Companies like National Debt Relief. I found out after the fact I could have saved myself thousands of dollars and my financial hardship would be a thing of the past by doing so. $5600.00 later and $6600.00 still to go I will be paying my original balance. I did not save by using National Debt Relief. My financial hardship will continue for another 2 years. 4 years total. Too many for a single woman on social security.

    I'm overwhelmed with credit card debt. I tried to get relief help because if I would get a lot of that debt gone, that would be great as I would be retired next year. I received mail from National Debt Relief and I decided to call. The enrollment process was easy. Everything came up and it was accurate.     Updated on 09/07/2018: National Debt Relief took the debts we had and they came up with a payment. It doesn’t leave us with much left over but still, they’ve already cleared out so much. The program works and the people are on top of the situation. They don’t usually call me because they know I’m not allowed to answer the phone too much at work, so they’ll either email or call my wife. And they say, "We can do this" or “We got this.” They don’t force us to accept the offer but instead, they recommend. They’re really nice people and they’re like, “Hey, it’s a good deal. This is what they’re gonna settle for” or whatever the case is and they would take payments. Also, their pricing is very fair for what they do because they go and battle for us.

    The finalized part of working with National Debt Relief won’t be until we get done with the program. It surely hurts our credit but it is better than going bankrupt. But I see the big cards coming off and it teaches us a lesson. We can’t use a credit card if we know everything is cash and I’m starting to like that. I would highly recommend National Debt Relief. They do what they say they’re gonna do and there’s no beating on the bush with it. It has been a pleasant experience and I can’t believe how easy it has been.

    After my husband died, I didn’t know what to do because I didn’t have a job and I tried to take over his business but I was bad at it. He had good customer service. The follow-up person on the other hand seemed to have been reading a script and didn't have the patience when I would ask him a question. At times I couldn't understand him maybe because he was talking too fast.

I feel my credit score has gotten worse due to the time you need to accrue the funds to pay out and the negotiation process, but I guess since it was already getting bad does it really matter. I've gotten nervous due to some accounts getting law firms involved and I wished the loans from the credit unions were negotiated first. I don't think I could have done this on my own where there are other personal matters going on in my life and I do see that the accounts that have been resolved, the balances negotiated were ok and it take time. The communication is good and I'm notified with everything that's going on.

    This is a wonderful program but unfortunately it wasn't the right fit for me. I became overwhelmed with debt after going through a family crisis. I could barely function and was terrified of how much more damage a lawsuit could do to me. NDR seemed like the answer to my prayers. After listening to my circumstances NDR set up comfortable monthly payments and told me they often settle accounts for less because creditors don't want to lose out by going to court or bankruptcy. Everything was going fine until I had to deal with an account from hell. They refused to settle and the account quickly doubled from late fees, court fees, lawyer’s fees and interest.

    Some creditors will never settle. They would rather sue to garnish your wages for the next 12 years, put a lien on your bank account, car, home, etc and make your life a living hell. And they have the right to. This was no fault of NDR. They did everything they could and I would still recommend this program. However, it's important to understand all of your options before making a decision and don't let fear control you.

    I’m sick and tired of living from paycheck to paycheck. I tried negotiating on my own and did all of those tricks that you hear about calling the creditors and telling them about my circumstances and if they'd work with me. I emailed them and they never answered me back so I am a little upset about that. But it’s been pretty good. I have to see if I can call them and talk to them. From what they’ve sent me and I got to look at, they want to take $900 out of my account in December, and then again in January, and I can't afford that much money. Their login portal is kind of user-friendly but I think that sometimes it could be a little bit user-friendlier because I can't even see what creditors they are. What I was really looking for is that I couldn’t keep track of when my payment due dates were, like maybe somebody to help set those up to come out on the same day. I didn’t have time to call everybody and tell them to set up payment on the same day. But National Debt Relief has helped me settle on three debts.

    I ended up getting laid off work and wasn’t able to pay a loan back. Once I went through a debt relief program and realized how much debt I had, that’s when I thought I needed to do the program. National Debt Relief was more flexible with the times and if I ended up coming in the hard times, I could still call in and get my payment lowered and I would also be able to pay extra if needed.     I got divorced and I was overwhelmed with financial and taxation. I was very prudent about my credit score but something had to give. A friend who had gotten some of situation suggested National Debt Relief. Their team is 100% professional. They did not skip a beat and they continue to do so. They put back structure the way I’m accustomed to in regards to my finances as far as expenses relating to revolving credit. They took the illness away from me and put it on them and I’m better for it.

    They’ve never ever turned down the question. I also retained the service of their attorneys for a few dollars more. A couple of instances I received notices of pending legal filed cases or notices and judgement. They take it on, did a fantastic job and it’s been cleared up.     My husband and I found ourselves in some pretty serious debt with high interest rates after I was in a severe car accident.     I got disabled early and I had to retire. What hurt me was until I got Medicare, I had to pay and also pay the insurance, which about killed us. And when I did that, our debts was a total of $20,000. And then, my son got sick with cancer and he died last year. I also called Sam's credit card, our first creditor, and I said, "Can you cut me a little slack on the interest so I can pay you?" But they charged me $100 for the card a year more. After that I said, "To hell with you. I ain't playing with you anymore."

    I was searching around for debt settlement companies and National Debt Relief's emails kept popping up. I answered one of them and spoke to one of their reps. He was very friendly and explained the process. As a salesman, he tried to upsell me but I was confident enough to go ahead and do it, so I did. Any questions that I came up with, he had an answer to. He offered me a variety of solutions based on my affordability. When he had all the information he needed, he came back and told me he was going to reduce my debt by a certain number which I liked.

    The only negative thing about the whole process is that it could possibly take up to four years. And these days, one has got to have a good enough credit score to get by and mine was pretty bad. But I've gotten a couple of letters from at least two of my creditors that National Debt has made the deal with. So, it's working. However, there's one more out there that has to be done which is kind of all in the dark.

    Updated on 1/18/19: I had four credit cards and I basically pay them. National Debt Relief would take two monthly payments and they would do all the working so I could pay them off. So far, two are paid off and I've got two more to go which I feel like these last two are taking a lot longer than the others. I thought I'd be done by the fall of 2018, but then in the fall, they told me the spring of 2019 and I don’t see that happening. I would like more information on why these last two cards -- ‘cause I felt like I paid a lot of money -- are taking so long. I don’t know where it's at and that's confusing me. However, they helped me understand things if something comes up and where I was at. They're kind and helpful. If I have a question or a concern, they would reach out within a day if it was an email.     I enrolled in this program 4 months ago. I've been putting $388 a month into this account. I received a letter in the mail a couple weeks ago and I sent it to NDR. It was a letter threatening to garnish 10% of my paycheck. I called this company 5 times and nobody could give me answers. Finally a spoke to someone last week and she told me that they reviewed the document that I had sent them and that it wasn't a legal document. She told me that it's nothing to be worried about and that they're using that letter as a "scare tactic". Well... I was lied to.

    I got a call from NDR yesterday 6/28 and was told that the letter WAS a legal document and that if I don't pay in full a lump sum of $3321.51 (my credit card balance is only $2343. $978.51 was added on for legal fees) by 7/3 that my paycheck is going to be garnished by 10%. That literally gives me 3 days on a Holiday weekend to try and come up with money.

    So now I'm looking for a second job to pay my mortgage so I don't lose my house and all I get is, "We're sorry. This only happens to 5% of people that join this program. Your credit card companies aren't obligated to tell us when they sue you." By enrolling into this program it's now costing me $725 a month. Getting a second job is the only option I have. I've never been so upset.

    I wanted to consolidate my bills into one payment. National Debt Relief has been pulling money from my account every two weeks but I don’t know where I am when it comes to my account status. I got in the program January and the last I heard of them was in February. They told me it would take time because I owe a certain amount and I needed to build up my account before they can start distributing out money.
