    First of all, when I signed up for the program I was told a bunch of stuff that was not true, and I ended up getting two summons to show up in court due to debts that they were supposed to take care of. When I called to confront the situation with one of the employees, they thought they had me on hold but I could still hear them talking and one of them called me the "B" word. Once they came back on the line I told them that I heard them call me that, and they said they were speaking to somebody else and they apologized that I heard it. I told them that I heard them say "I don't want to talk to that ** lady. She is a total B." I told them that I know this phone call is being recorded and they can play it back to hear that is exactly what they said.

    Secondly, they kept extending our in date and adding extra fees. They were withdrawing money at a different time than they told me they would, which would cause overdraft fees in my bank account. The whole program is a sham and I could have paid my bills off a lot faster with a lot less headache and my credit would not be totally ruined like it is now. I totally do not recommend this program to anyone... Stay away.

I have no idea if any negotiations have been made with them since I have not received any communications from National Debt Relief. Other than the times I have called to inquire... being told it may take up to 90 days. The debtor tells me they "do not negotiate"??? My payments are taken out monthly as agreed to.

A little slow on the uptake for the negotiators considering I need to dig up a recent statement from a card I stopped using 2 years ago so I think I will remove it from the program and talk to the creditor myself.     We had 7 credit cards which were maxed out and we're struggling to make minimum payments. I called National Debt Relief and accepted their help in getting rid of our debt. People I talked to were always professional and had answers for all my questions. It was relief to have someone helping us get our debt gone. If we had an unexpected expense they always helped us by reducing a payment or by taking their fee at the end of the settlement instead of the beginning. I would have rated 5 stars except 2 of our credit cards weren't being very agreeable to settle and by the time these 2 were settled they cost us more than if we had just paid them off with regular payments.

    The other 5 cards got great settlement offers which we gladly accepted. We may not have saved that much overall but it was nice to have someone help us and make us feel more comfortable.     I’m sure our situation was not as bad as some people but we're trying to get everything streamlined. I'm a very hands-on guy so I came to National Debt Relief.     I got myself into trouble with credit cards over time into a spot that I can’t get out of, not without spending the next 20 years paying off credit card debt, so I looked into relief help. My wife looked online for reviews of companies and National Debt Relief came up. It has been great and really positive, but I only have one sticking point. I was in the middle of a move so I couldn’t receive mailings from one company that I have collections with and all they could do was fax me a statement. I asked them to fax these statements to National Debt Relief and at the same time, I passed on to NDR all the contact information and got it set up, so they can communicate. Apparently, the fax didn’t make it to NDR or they weren’t willing to accept it and they kept hounding me to fax them something but I said, “This company isn’t getting me anything I can fax to you.”

    I worked with the other company and they said, “Just have them give us a call. We’ll get everything sorted out.” So, I just need National Debt Relief to call them but they were unwilling or unable to call this company to resolve this issue. I can’t get any resolution and it goes in circles at this point. I’ve talked to several customer service agents on NDR, and I’m at an anger with them over this one. I explained to them that all they need to do is one of their representatives call the number so they can set up getting information and I just get “We can’t do that.” “Why can’t you call a number? I’ve already given the other company authorization to speak to you on my behalf, so just call the number.” I can’t get past that and right now, I’m still on the road of getting collections and they’re sorting it out. It’s a different level of stress at this point, other than the fact that I know I have a plan which just helps some.

    I was paying all my bills on time, but I had nothing left over for medical bills. I was barely making gas and groceries and I didn’t have anything for car repairs and that type of thing. And so I decided to get help from National Debt Relief. I had three accounts and NDR was able to quickly settle two of the accounts for a lesser balance. So that was great. But the third account was sold to another company and now the balance is even higher. I sent them paperwork that I received from the company who bought out that third account and I had remember emailing them asking how come they weren’t able to settle for the third account. They said they’ll work otherwise with the other company but I haven’t heard anything since then. Hopefully, they can also settle that third account on a less amount that I owed.     I wasn't fully satisfied with the service because NDR didn't prioritize which creditors they should take care first. Example is Rise Credit. My balance went from 3K + to 5K +, and NDR is demanding more money from me. Another example is Capital One. I got sued and have to pay extra $250 on top of the monthly payment. A while ago, I spoke to a customer service from NDR and was told that I have to come up with $289 by February 2018 to make the last payment for Rise Credit. I told the CS person that my contract is up until December and there's no way I will come up with that amount by February since my mortgage payment will go up by $500 starting January next year. I was told then that they will re-negotiate. Overall, NDR should have taken care of the bigger debts so that interest didn't accrue.

    I think it is a decent company to get you out of credit card debt. I signed up almost 2 years ago and they have only contacted me 2 times to let me know any updates to my account. I have the agreed amount taken out every month but have no idea when I may be finished or if any of my cards have been paid off yet. There is zero communication with me but I pay a lot in fees to them. I think there should be more support to the client. The website does not even show when I may be getting close to being done.     We paid off all of our debts except student loans in 3 years. I wish student loans could be negotiated, but that is not NDR's fault. Over the past 3 years the only thing I wished they did was communicate more with email regarding the negotiated deals with our creditors. The phone calls were nice, but a follow-up email would have been very helpful. NDR should send updates to their clients as to how much they still owe and how many more payments are left. Trying to figure it out using the statements from Global Client Solutions (where our money was stored for NDR's use) was nearly impossible. Finally, the amount that NDR charges for their service was a surprise. They saved us money on the payoff amounts, but they charged us a fee which most likely was at or more than what we saved. But, at least I didn't have to negotiate with the creditors!

    National Debt is very happy to sign you up, make vague promises, and take your money. They are NOT so happy to talk to you when you question what they are doing, or follow up when you have a concern. I (sadly) was desperate enough to enroll in their 'program' a couple years ago. Spoiler alert: their promises aren't quite accurate. Sure, they usually can temporarily reduce your settlement with your debtors, but don't buy into their promise that you won't be sued, have your credit score wrecked, or be reported to the IRS.

    All happened to me, and National Debt basically took my money to reduce what I paid, while I ended up paying MORE than I initially owed in back taxes (bad debt reported as income with taxes owed), and fees paid to National Debt. I wish I had just transferred my debt to a zero interest card, or hired my own attorney. Oh, did I mention that I was also sued by two of my four debtors, with National Debt feigning shock, but when I researched further, lawsuits are apparently very common with my debtors. Buyer beware!!!! Go elsewhere for legitimate help!!! If I could rate zero stars I would.

    I've been in the program 2 years, with about 1 more year remaining. I called because I was making zero progress on paying off debts with no end in sight. Now I am 85% debt-free, with only one more creditor to settle. The process sounds more complicated than it is, but they do a good job explaining it to you. Your credit takes a temporary hit, which they tell you upfront, and I've already started recovering my credit score (which didn't fall as much as they warned it might). There are tax implications, which again are explained and not as bad as it sounds. I was served a summons for one creditor, and NDR took care of that for me with no penalties or court time.

    If you stick to the payments, trust the process, this really does work. I'll have zero debt after 3 years (one more year from now), while if I had done nothing I would be paying these off for literal decades. The new online UI is a real game changer, too - I can log in at any time and view account balances, payment plans to each creditor, and percentage of debt settled, paid, or pending. I was the ideal candidate for this and have had nothing but a positive experience.
