    It was off to a Rocky start, I'm still pretty neutral with NDR right now. Nothing has hit the "WOW" factor. Especially after the first settlement negotiation and the call being escalated to a supervisor when I didn't ask for escalation and she didn't handle the situation very well. But so far 3/15 creditors have been negotiated with. I'm looking forward to see how they handle the bigger debt accounts so to be continued.

    My grandmother needed relief help and she went with National Debt Relief. At first, the interaction with the team was pleasant, and then in the middle, it was frustrating. Now, the frustration is over and it's okay, but it was painstaking for my grandmother when we initially started the program. We had sent over their statements but we kept getting phone calls saying that they didn’t have them, and I kept telling the rep I was speaking with that they just have to look. One kid said he saw a document with a bunch of attachments but no statements and I asked if he opened up any of the attachments and he said no. And when he opened one attachment, lo and behold there were the statements. Nobody was willing to go above and beyond to look through the documents to see what they actually have.

    It was a fuss between that incident and the power of attorney situation. I asked one person if this power of attorney will supersede the other power of attorney that they needed and they had told me, yes, only to find out that that's not the case. So, the left hand was not talking to the right hand and it was at the expense of our frustration. They've got the power of attorney and they've got the documents that they need, so now I wait for phone calls if these companies want to settle. Right now, my grandmother is still getting the collection calls but I think that's part of the process. In general, they tried to get the process completed and it certainly improved when I talked to them.

    I had about $15,000 worth of debt that I hadn't been able to pay and I had some money come way, so I decided I wanted to get the debt cleared up. I looked National Debt Relief up on the internet and it seemed like it was okay. They wanted me to put a certain amount of money into a bank account for them to draw from in order to pay the debts that I had. I went ahead and gave them about $7,000 and that's going to clear up the debt. There were some people that they had to talk to, to pay all the debt off, but some of them wanted to do it over a time payment plan so it's been taking several months. But it will be hopefully cleared up by the end of this year at any rate. National Debt Relief enabled me to use a credit card again.     My business was slow and I had issues and National Debt Relief told me that I would have 30% to 50% savings if I did relief help. I debated on whether to do bankruptcy or relief help and I wanted to at least pay some back because most of the creditors that I called wouldn't work with me. They seemed fine until now. I'm thinking about filing bankruptcy anyways because they're making money and I'm not saving any.

    They answered everything basically that I wanted to hear like the savings and those kinds of things. Then they had me paying for an attorney on the side and I can't talk to that attorney. That attorney is not really what they played it up to be. I'm really frustrated with them. I tell them that I don’t want to make a deal with a certain company because there's no savings. Basically what they're doing is they're taking off the interest I would've paid, coming back with what I owed. Then they get 25% of that which then put me back at the same point, which they didn’t explain the 25%. I didn’t find that out until the first bill. But I blame myself for not reading the papers closer.

    I definitely wouldn't do that program again and I'm going to tell everybody I possibly can not to. I would've been better off to stay the way I was -- get an attorney and try to work with the creditors instead of doing it that way. It's not a very great experience. The one other thing is I tell them no on a deal. Then they come back with the same deal and they called me four or five times a day while I'm trying to work. They're worse than the creditors were as far as calls. I call them, and I tell them I don’t want to do that and then a couple of days later they come back. I know it's computer-generated but still it's annoying

    My husband was bitten by a brown recluse spider and was in the hospital and we incurred a lot of hospitalization bills. He was out of work for four months. It got bad real quick so we went with NDR. They advertised on the television that they take care of the debt first, then they get paid. But they will negotiate with a creditor and take their money before they go on to the next creditor. It gives you the illusion that they’re going to pay your credit cards and then pay themselves after the fact but when in fact, they won’t continue with another creditor until they get payment for the one they just negotiated. So, it’s a gray area. They want to make sure that they have money in there to cover their cost before they negotiate with a creditor. I’m not happy with that.

    When you ask them for any kind of written information because you’d like to see it, they will tell you to go to your bank portal. If you go to the bank portal, it only gives you the immediate balance in your account. If you go to your portal with them, it will only go back three months so you cannot track where your money has gone. They avoid that and they will say that they will put your request forward and you will hear something back in 14 days, but you never get anything back. You don’t get anything in the mail whatsoever that you requested for documentation.

    We had four credit cards over $4000 dollars, but they were all in good standing and they want us to turn those over to them and they’ll work with companies and we could get all the interests so we won’t pay as such. They didn’t tell me that they’re not going to pay that at all or even contact that creditor for six to eight months. Then, it’s at the point where it’s gone either into collections or to court. They told me that I have legal representation, and that a very small percentage of people get summons to go to court. I got two on the exact same day two weeks ago and the odds of that is supposed to be very small. When I called them about this, they said that they’ll have a negotiator call immediately. Three days later, I called. The negotiator had called either place, so I called the law office of one of those. I told them that I want to settle and called NDR and told them that we’re ready to go and to call me if they didn’t accept the terms.

    National Debt Relief then writes me an e-mail saying that they’ve got a great offer for me and that they’re saving me $1,900. They didn’t save me diddly-squat. The $1,900 was for charges and interests and they only settled for the balance that I turned it over for. The same thing happened with the other one that we got a summon for. There are no savings whatsoever. Also, they tell me that there’s a possibility of taking it to collections and that their people are hard at work negotiating with my creditors all kinds of postponement as long as possible. That’s baloney because we have four that went into collections that got our credit report and two that we got summons to go to court.

    Overall, they gave me the runaround, and they do not give me a specific answer and they avoid any questions. They told me to fax the information to them, and then to call them back in 20 minutes to an hour. I follow through with what they told me to do and they still decline the fact that they received it even though my fax person says that they have received it. Then 24 hours later, they say in an e-mail that they’ve received this information. Their company is misleading and how unfortunate it is that they allow things to get as bad as they do when they can be taken care of sooner. If I had not gone through that experience with my husband, I would have tried to negotiate with the creditors on my own and I would have been better off. They’re terrible. I would never recommend them to anybody.

    I was paying off the TJ Maxx card and throughout the entire year, I never used the card. I was at my limit. I missed a couple of payments because I thought I had it on automatic paying. And when I caught up with the payments, I was on negative. I put $64 into it and only $20 went to the actual card. The rest was interest. I was looking to resolve that one but National Debt Relief called me and it was an all or nothing deal so I took the odds. Once I started, they got the ball rolling pretty fast.

    However, when I initially started, the guy had told me that it was going to be set to $280 a month. A couple of weeks ago, I noticed they come by when I make payments. I told them and they said it was because the payments come in every other week. The guy never told that. I told him I'll see if I can afford $280 a month. I'm not going to pay $400 in December. If they say $280 a month, I expect $280 a month constantly. I also noticed that when they resolved the account, they took a big chunk out and that left my account kind of short. It was during the third negotiation that they had told me I might had to put in extra funds. And I told them I was not putting any extra funds. I agreed to something and that's what I wanted. My first payment to a collection agency was at $200 and they took $400 for themselves. They could've taken $200 instead of $400.

    The people at National Debt Relief were good but they need to clarify things ahead of time and say what may or may not happen so that people have a heads up about it instead of them telling me last minute that I got to pay more. If I knew this all ahead of time and I agreed to it, I wouldn't complain but they didn't say that. I feel that they're there to collect on me. Nevertheless, I got relief for the accounts to get resolved and I'm not paying as much a month. National Debt Relief saved me money on having to pay all those minimum payments.

    So far, I get tons of phone calls several times a day with a recording saying, "If you would like to review your current information please call us." Never a person, not sure what they are calling for. The charges that they charge are ridiculous, I thought it was not for profit. None of these charges were explained in the interview when I signed up. When I have a bad month and can't make my payment I am made to feel horrible and the whole reason I signed up with them is because I need help not need to be belittled.     I had a conversation with my then fiancé about looking into relief help, and with some major life-change coming up, I decided it was time to resolve issues as quickly and as reasonably as I could. The team at National Debt Relief has been very proactive with telephone calls and emails that have been appropriate and have been timely. I've had a couple of issues where I've had to call back in again and again to get a result, and that’s because the way they're divided up into teams of customer service people and negotiators wasn’t readily apparent at first.

    The challenges of the negotiator are very different than the role of the customer service person. The customer service people end up being good advocates for the customer, which is really nice, especially in those conversations with the negotiators. I was pleased with how everything went, but it took a little bit of persistence. I have been with the program for a year and a half now and I've got one out of five of my creditors left, so it's nearly done. National Debt Relief worked, which is really the biggest thing. It's been relatively efficient and I've made really good progress. We talked about it taking four years so I was able to move a little faster on my side and they were able to move faster, as a result, on their side. They do an excellent job and I certainly would recommend them very much.

    I have suggestions for them that are positive regarding the way they display the status of the account online where there are some hidden numbers in there. I know a little bit about some of the stuff so I can understand what they're doing, but I can see that it might be confusing to somebody else. They might spend some energy on how they portray the payments due -- the payments yet to come, the payments made and the obligations themselves, so that their fees and the possible fees to pay off the debt are understood well.

    I was starting a new business and I took on a lot of personal debt and I got a little trouble with it. So far, everything has been good with National Debt Relief but there's not much communication on the updates. In terms of the plan to go, once you deal with that first adviser, there's not a lot of personalized interaction that sort of discusses where you're at in your plan.     My pastor from our church told me that there was help out there and I started looking on the internet. National Debt Relief sounded really good to me, so I tried it out.     When I first signed up with NDR back in May, they were absolutely wonderful. I spoke with Sharde for almost an hour & I was excited to get my debt under control, I even saw a settlement within the first month or so. During this time, they found another creditor for me to add, I saw a minimal payment increase but it was worth it. Fast forward to today & I'm still receiving harassing phone calls from some of the creditors that I originally enrolled in the program, in fact, one of them is now escalating their collection efforts. I thought after this amount of time, more of my accounts would have a settlement agreement.

    I recently decided that I will be going to the bankruptcy route & cancelling my enrollment in NDR's program. After speaking with my bankruptcy attorney & doing a little bit more research, I've found out that 1.) creditors do not have to agree to a settlement from a company like NDR and 2.) creditors can still come after you for the amount still owed and/or you can still be sued. Bankruptcy is going to be cheaper for me in the end & will provide me with the full transparency & formal structure I'm looking for when getting my debts paid off. I wish I had gone this route instead of enrolling in NDR's program.

    I’ve been in National Debt Relief's program for about a year and it has been positive so far. I talked to them a couple of times for some questions. I was figuring everything out and what they could potentially do. We just had a baby a couple of months ago and National Debt Relief helped lower our payment for a few months so we could catch up on everything which was something that other companies won't do for us. The only thing disappointing was when all of my accounts went to collection despite them mentioning they would prevent it from happening. But they’ve negotiated good deals with the companies once they went to collection. It’s a little bit of a bummer because I hit on my credit but at the same time National Debt Relief was helping me.

    Since working with National Debt Relief, we're still struggling because a big chunk of money goes out to them, but it’s at least helping us get out of debt and to have one payment versus multiple ones. And we don’t have all the interests of all the different companies either. But it’s taking some time to get out of it. We have five companies on them and there’s only one company left that they need to negotiate with.

They have helped me take the initial burden of creditors. I tried to deal with the creditors myself and it was impossible. But NDR disappointed me. They called four months into the program after I've been paying and wanted more money per month. We agreed to a certain amount and they backed out on that deal. I agreed to it one time, but I'll never agree to it again 'cause it's turning into a burden ever further. It's something I cannot do and I'm already struggling and they know that. The experience was pleasant, but I'd tell people to make sure to stick to their ground and don't let NDR come back at the later date and try to turn things on you.

    My mom was with National Debt Relief and told me about the company. No one was consolidating my debt for me and none of the companies would settle with just me talking to them. NDR was the only one that would work with me as far as getting my debt consolidated and I've been with them since 2016. The beginning was easy. I just filled an application then talked with somebody there. A lot of stuff was done online. Their reps have been nothing but helpful and every interaction I've had with them has been good. They seemed to be fast at funneling and talking to the companies. They do everything pretty straightforward too. NDR made my life a lot less stressful. I had all my accounts settled but one which will take another year.

    My wife died about two years ago and I have gotten discombobulated in all of my finances so it prompted me to get some help. It's going on two years that we've been working together to get us out of debt and I appreciate all the work they've done. I called many times. I don’t get the update on the computer but I get to update on the phone so I talked to many representatives and they were very gracious, very polite, and very understandable.

    We were behind on some bills and we were having a lot of medical problems. I had a child who had a skin disorder and we were going through several hundred dollars worth of medicine a month, even with insurance. The team at National Debt Relief have all been very great and wonderful. However, the thing that aggravates me is every three to four months, they call and wanted more to update their budget. They don't take the fact that I haven’t gotten a raise. The only bills I have paid off are the ones that NDR have paid off and they want me to update every line item again. It's a 20-minute process every time and every time they catch me, I am at work, I've got my kids. It's just that I don't have 20 minutes. I just wish there was a better way of getting it other than on the phone. If I could do it online, I've got all my stuff at my computer online to where I can look it up.

    Nonetheless, they had done exactly what they say they were going to do and I'd give them an A+ in everything. NDR has made our lives easier. They took a lot of those hostile debt collection phone calls away. The bills that we had behind were either already taken care of or they'll just take money out of your account. Because if you were in the situation that I was in, where you got debt collectors calling and they're calling at all hours and you just don’t have time to talk to them, it was very nice. It's worth the peace of mind that we can get and it was a good decision for me and my family.

    When I first enrolled with NDR I was given great advice and informed what to expect. I read some of the reviews prior to enrolling in the program and was reluctant to seek the help. However, I found that after speaking with the enrollment counselor and it was explained to me in detail what to expect; credit score will go down drastically, creditors will be relentless (give the creditor hotline number), the length of time to negotiation a settlement with creditors and the availability of a credit counselor changed my mind. I'm pleased with my choice to seek help from NDR. I'll be going downhill first but it'll be worth the climb uphill to be back on top.
