The specialist contacted me almost immediately and responded very quickly to all of my e-mails. However, there were many mistakes in the e-mails being sent to me. The specialist apologized and assured more accurate responses, but the inaccuracies continued. While it became frustrating, the quick responses made for an easy fix and smooth process. Everything was completed in less than a day. I wish I would have made the call sooner. In regards to the Welcome Call, the man was very pleasant, although he spoke way too fast.

National Debt Relief offered me a good deal so I talked to my husband and we decided to go with them. We started in August or September and the team has been good every time that they call and have some information for us. The cost of the program is okay but I wish they would do a bit more because they’ve only resolved two of the accounts. There’s only one creditor that keeps calling, trying to get some money from us. As soon as 8 o'clock comes around, we know that the phone’s going to ring and it’s going to be one of the creditors. But that’s the only one that we’ve been bugged by, and anything else stopped. National Debt Relief is doing what we expected them to do and we’re happy with the outcome. I would recommend them to somebody else.

I was a complete mess financially. I went through a divorce and I couldn’t pay everybody. And at the same time, I lost my job. So, it was a critical situation but I have been able to do side jobs and that allowed me to kind of get in the National Debt Relief program. They explained everything in great detail before I got set up. I got very good information from their rep. Once I got an email where I replied saying I want the program and I want to enroll, then I got a phone call and they walked me through the whole process. It took about 45 minutes and after that, I was off to the races. I completed some forms and then, the rest is history. They set me up with a $450 bi-weekly installment payment.
I like working with them very much. More recently, I have to push back on some purchase because I had one of my credit cards come in and a block was put on my checking account and took some money out. So, that screwed me up, and they had been able to accommodate for me. I got my account on hold right now, and they are going to start taking payments again. They were only able to make one payment but they will make another one for the following month.
There was some flexibility in the system. I had to take funds away from my checking account that was allocated for my bi-weekly payment and pay my rent and all the obligations that I had. So, I had to really scramble in. I called National Debt and I told them my situation and told them I needed to put my account on hold for a month. But I realized that they had already charged me for the first two weeks. So I told them I needed a break for the next two weeks until the following month so I could catch up with all the other stuff and get back into the good rhythm with them. They were flexible and I appreciated that very much because it’s the reality. I don’t have a full-time job yet but I’m trying to take advantage of the program. And I didn’t count on this kind of hiccup. But it looks like we were able to work it out.

My wife and I got in over our heads. We overextended ourselves and then paid the debt back as most teenage adults do. And then, we found out we were having a kid and we were too far gone. We needed to fix the problem. National Debt Relief is fantastic! Their team had all of our information, what the debt was and who was it from. They told us what they can offer and how they could help us and achieve our goals. I admire that they gave us an opportunity to understand that there were multiple options, not just one. They explained a lot of different things that were very helpful.
They also explained to us that if we go through them once the debts are handled, then the next process through them is that they also offer a debt rebuilding program. From there, they offer a training course on how to stay debt-free. The program as a whole is well-thought out and very easy to get everything handled. There are negative effects on our accounts but it's been a lot less stress not having to deal with the creditors at all. The 40 phone calls a day gets really old. I'd recommend them to friends.

I needed relief help, so I looked into it and started the process with National Debt Relief in April. So, I have 39 months to pay them. Their team was very good and courteous and they were able to answer all my questions. However, I didn’t envision the impact that I was going to have with it. Because of this, my cards that I had for years got declinations and my name was marred. My credit was also serrated and I wasn’t like that prior to it. I was drowning, but I still kept the payments going. Hopefully, I could get a correspondence from the company saying they did what they did so they could help me get out of debt based on my ability to help them settle it. But overall, I had peace of mind.
Reviewed Nov. 7, 2017
I've been with National Debt Relief's program for almost a year now. I got ill so I had no choice. I didn't have to deal with trying to explain to everybody. It wasn't my fault that I ended up coming down with MS and losing my job. I wasn't getting the full paycheck that I used to get. Until I fight with the state, I can get one-third of my paycheck. If I win, I get to pay four times a month. I'm getting paid one of those weeks so it’s a huge change and it wasn't temporary. The doctors kept saying it's going to be permanent.
NDR helped a lot. I called them and they took care of everybody. My payments are decent and they take it out regularly out of my account, and then they call me every once a while to let me know what they're going to do with my money, who's paying and how much they're getting paid. So, the experience was nice. They offer to pay an extra fee for a lawyer just in case a creditor doesn't want to go with the program. But I never had to use it to fight with anybody because everybody agreed with NDR.

They stay in touch with us and have made this an easy process. We were struggling to maintain the payments for our credit card debt. We knew something had to give and eliminating credit cards was the first step.

I needed some money so I called National Debt Relief and they told me what the program was. They answered everything I needed to know and I thought it fit my need. They also told what it would cost me and my monthly payments then I okayed it and they started the process. They’ve satisfied two of my debts already and they’re working on my others. I have not heard from them since the two debts were paid last month, so I’m waiting for some more to be negotiated. I’ve been going on the website and staying updated. If I also have any information, I call and talk to them. National Debt Relief did great by me and the experience is excellent and very superb.

Unfortunately with the predicament that I'm in, the last company that I tried to use just told me what they were going to do and weren't doing it at all. It was pretty much putting me further in debt. I saw the reviews on National Debt Relief and I figured I'd give them a try. They’ve been doing everything that they said they would do.
Having them definitely has taken a lot of weight off my shoulders as far as stress and concern. I just pay what I need to every month. Then they contact me whenever they receive an offer. If I want to take it, then they'd go on my behalf, but if I don’t want to take it, then, they'll look at something else. It's fair and easy making payments with them. Whenever I transitioned to different jobs, there was a lapse of me being able to make the regular payments but they were willing to work with me. They set it up to where it's on my next payroll just to make sure that I didn’t miss anything. It increased my monthly payment a little bit but it wasn’t much. Overall, it's been a really great experience so far. It's made the whole process of getting me debt-free much easier.

During the setup process, NDR was very accommodating, but I didn’t hear much from them after that. I stopped utilizing the program as of this weekend, and if you decide to leave the program they keep the money that you have within the program. So, not very impressed with that. I highly advise anyone to visit a lawyer before they go into any type of debt relief program.

I was reading a website that talks about how to get rid of debt, and it listed a whole bunch of stuff. I tried the snowball method and did a lot of other stuff trying to get rid of debt, and it didn't seem to work fast enough so I kept reading. The site had a lot of information, and it said to look into a credit relief program. National Debt Relief was listed at the top. I did some research about reviews, and there are places that also said NDR was the best one to go with so I went that way. I didn't have experience with anything in the past, and nobody that I knew had ever used anybody like NDR. I was really desperate because I didn't want to have any bad credit at all because my credit was okay. I was maintaining it, but it was getting too hard to maintain all the payments so I just chose to go with them.
Everybody at National Debt Relief has been very helpful. They helped me understand things. Sometimes they tell me something and I'm not quite sure what they mean. They'll explain everything to where I can understand it better. They explained what it's going to be like and what things mean. They have already settled four accounts and I haven't even been with them for a year yet. I'm glad that those accounts are getting settled. The only thing that I was skeptical about is as far as the report goes, I closed out all the accounts myself. So once the program's over, I'm going to have to start completely over because NDR is not going to base it on past accounts. I didn't want to do that but I needed to. I had no money for groceries while trying to make my minimum. Other than that, everything's good. It may take a while but National Debt Relief will help me out, and it has.

NDR has settled two bills for me, so I'm paying them off now. They did a good job of getting my debts down. Working with NDR has relieved a lot of stress on me. I had surgery that put me out of work and I wasn’t covered under my workman’s comp or my disability at work. I had a full knee replacement so I was out over three months and it financially set me back quite a bit. Once I got past the embarrassment and humiliation of it all, National Debt Relief helped me resolve things and I started with the program in early May. I was a little skeptical at first, because the gentleman I initially dealt with for setting up asked me the same questions every time he called. He was not the most organized person and didn’t sound very confident so I was leery about giving him my Social Security number. But other than that, they've called me and let me know when something’s resolved. They call to get my okay as well as to check on my financial and see how everything’s going. They’ve worked hard and they’ve already settled a couple of things for me. They’ve been fantastic and the experience has been very good so far.

I worked at Kaiser Aluminum and I retired from there. I invested $250,000 in my retirement fund and two-and-a-half years later, they sent me a letter saying I had $14,000 left. That’s when the stock market plunged and my wife tells people that Martha Stewart spent her money. We were in debt that we couldn’t take care of and it was so much money that at the time we were through paying bills, we didn’t have anything left to live on. We got into NDR's program and their reps were always very respectful and and they don’t talk down to us which is what I found most interesting about them.
It’s been a slow and tedious process, but they don’t get much money from me so they’re working with what they have to work with, which is not a lot of money, so it’s going to take a long time. They have to get permission from me to agree with the settlement first so, that tells me that they’re working on it. And once in a while, I get a letter from them saying how much they spent and how much I’ve got. We don’t have a computer and it’s pretty hard to communicate with a person that doesn’t have a computer these days. They've also called me about what's going on and I wish it happened more often. I’d like to be paid off quicker, too, but that’s not their fault. That’s my fault. They’re trying their damnedest to make things work with the little bit of money they got to deal with and I know it’s a difficult job for them. So, I got no reason to complain.
Also, I keep getting calls from people I owe money to and I tell them that I’m now with National Debt Relief and they’re handling the matter for me but a lot of them say that they don’t deal with NDR. That isn’t true but they want to say that anyway. They don’t want to make me feel good and I wouldn’t want anybody owing me money, too, so I could understand how they feel.

We found on the computer that National Debt Relief can help government workers if they are in trouble with bills. My husband who works for the school district enrolled in their program because he had an issue with his bank at that time and he doesn't know how long he will be able to pay his bills. And he paid all his debts this year in June. I enrolled too because I know his health is not good and he had surgery. He got bacterial meningitis after that. I know I won’t be able to pay all my bills. I’m paying my monthly payments and now, they put me on the court and they told me I have to pay the lawyer from National Debt to help me.
I called NDR and they told me they cannot give me a lawyer. I have to pay extra $200 to get a lawyer to be able to help me. First of all, they asked me if I can make bigger payments and I told them, I can’t. I already make $400 and that’s more than a third of my salary a month. They said if I pay $200, they can help me, the lawyer will represent me. They said to call them back if I agree with that. I don’t have a choice so I agreed. And they said somebody will contact the court and they want me to call them back on November 2nd.
If they don’t call me, I have to call them around 2nd or 3rd of November. And next week, everything needs to be done by the bank because that’s the date I have to be on the court, November 10th. When I agreed to pay a lawyer $200, I asked them, if they’re going to take care of representing me, because I have another debt for Wells Fargo around $4000, I don’t want end up with another one in the court. And they said they cannot take care of that and that they have to take care of the first problem first. They’re paying small amounts, small bills. And they leave all the big ones for the leftover. And of course, nobody contacted them and the people just sent me to the court. If I have money, I will pay what I have to pay and I will be done with National Debt Relief. I’m really disappointed with them. The people turn to them because they’re desperate and they expect that they’ll help them but I’m not happy with them at all. They're not really helping me.

People from National Debt relief were saying that they were able to negotiate lower payments back to the credit cards. I dealt with my first person who had told me about the program. His name was Matt, and he just explained the programs that they negotiated and he pulled out my credit and he knew my situation better than I did, and explained where I was and he asked me a lot of questions and went about the application for me, and then he gave me the numbers right then and there of what he could do. He was right on point.
I was already in a program, and I wanted to do some additional credit cards that weren’t in the other program. When he pulled my credit report, he was like, “I want to add all of your credit cards”, and I said “Well, these other four are with another company that does what you do, so I don’t want to add those. I just want to add these other ones, which I didn’t add to the other program because the monthly fee was too much.” He said he can do all of it. It was like $100 dollars more than what I was doing for just the four with the other company, so I had to cancel that one. I’m paying about $100 dollars more and I’m adding three other credit cards.
I have seven accounts with them that they're negotiating. I did this in February of 2017, and of the seven, they’ve been able to close out two so far. They’ve done one huge one, and one small one. The only thing that I didn’t know, is that as they’re out there negotiating, and fighting for you, sometimes, these people want their money right then within a third amount of time, and so they need more money from me just to finish out that contract if it’s a good deal. I had to add some additional funds for a short period of time to make sure I’ve met those restrictions that the creditor was willing to accept.
The second thing that I didn’t know or maybe I wasn’t paying attention is that when they say they’re going to negotiate for you, I just assumed that they would pick up where the other company left off and make arrangements and I wouldn’t be late, but they actually want you to get really far behind so that helps with their negotiations, and I didn’t realize that so I kept paying them. I didn’t understand it. I’m thinking “I’m just giving you money, why aren’t you making these payments? What’s going on?” And they sat on it for six months and so it gathered money. I understand the concept, but I didn’t understand that’s what they were going to do when I signed up. I just wish that that was more prevalent in the sales pitch. But they did call me and told me to stop paying.
I would definitely recommend National Debt Relief to my friends if they were in a situation where I was in. I would say this is a great alternative to bankruptcy. But I will tell them is that they have to be accepted by National Debt. It’s not something they can choose, but National Debt has to choose you. And that was odd to me. I already have recommended them to some friends.

I’ve gone to a loss of about 50% of my income so it kind of put me in a pickle in terms of my debt. I had to try to figure something out, and NDR offered the best solution for me at the time. I put together a list of all my accounts, my unsecured debt, and I forwarded it to them. Then they sent me a contract, I looked it over, we signed it and sent it back to them. Once I understood how the program worked, it was straightforward what was going to happen.
The positive impact is that it cut down on all of the phone calls, the collection people calling constantly trying to collect their money. I haven’t been having to deal with that. We settled three and we started out with maybe nine or ten accounts. I initially thought the cost of the service was a little high. But at the same time, they’ve pretty much done what they said they were going to do. So, I got it’s worth. I got taken care of dealing with these people.
But I would like to see better deals negotiated in terms of the percentage of the debt being eliminated. This last deal I have, I have one of my lenders that filed a lawsuit. This is not quite what I wanted to see happen but they're not willing to negotiate as much as some of the other lenders. But other than that, Nation Debt Relief delivered on what they promised.

A couple of times, I even had to borrow money from my family for food. I wanted to rearrange the payment and they were completely inflexible until I called to cancel. And then all of a sudden, a woman said I didn't have to pay that amount and it didn't have to be three whole years. But it didn't reassure me and instead, it made me feel like a damn fool. It made me furious, and I’ve cancelled my arrangement with them and would be going into bankruptcy.
When I discussed it with my attorney, he told me that the debt relief people are not my friends and he was right. We joined National Debt Relief eight months ago. And so far, they have closed two of our deals but we still got a few to go. I can go online and see my deposits, as well as my creditors, and see if they're close to paying them. Our plan was supposed to be 48 months for close to $500 a month. I've talked to the NDR team because at first, it didn't show where our money was going. It only showed that two of our creditors have been paid off but we weren't getting done still. So they told me to fax the papers to them and I did.
We called NDR and they explained how they went ahead and paid them off. So they started out with payments. As we got more money built up into a different account where they draw our money out, they finally paid our creditors off. It was a little slow at first since it depends on how much money we have in there. We can put extra money but with all our other bills, we’re not able to put a whole lot of extra, just what they tell us to put.
Although the cost is not too bad, they should be able to cut a deal a little cheaper. But they were also able to cut one in half, that is, we owed one of the creditors $1100 and they got it down to $500. I'm just looking to get out completely and until they’re all paid, we're still going to be stressed because we've got too many other bills to go along with it. But it has made our lives a little better because we had so many different payments. We also had so many creditors. So I’ll just be glad when we can pay it all off.

One account that was supposed to be settled and paid off with the first payment due Dec 16 was never paid and I only found out about it when I ended this program in Oct 2017 which they had the audacity to ask me if I wanted them to renegotiate that account since I had more than enough money in my account to pay a full balance. I told National Debt Relief that we had a bunch of problems and we got behind in everything. We got put in a bind and there’s no way we could take what we have invested in our 401k. We don’t have a lot but we couldn’t take it out either because we would’ve been penalized worse. And then, the next year, that would affect us on our income tax. It was always like being in a hole. I didn’t want to file bankruptcy, which I’m sure would’ve messed up the credit, as bad as it is.
But I told them how much I owed, what they were, and they worked out a program and we've done really well. We’re not worried about having enough money at the end of the month because we know they’re taking care of our debts and they’re going to lower the balances. They were very helpful with our needs, they listened to us, heard what we had to say and how to help us. Their customer service was good. I called and asked quite a few questions and they’ve answered it quickly and appropriately. I know it’s going to take a while to do all the settlement but we’re dealing with it. So far, we’ve been pleased with National Debt Relief. They’ve settled a couple of our debts already and they’re working on the next ones.

I found myself struggling with my monthly finances. I looked online and saw that National Debt Relief was rated as one of the best, so that prompted me to call and check them out. Their team was helpful in telling me what I needed to do with the creditor, which was a credit union. They provided me extra guidance and it's been a very positive experience. Also, we discussed my student loans and they were coming out of deferment and trying to see what I could do to not lower my monthly contribution, knowing that I may still be heightened from the monthly finances. They lowered my payment by at least $155 and it was very helpful. Working with them has affected my accountability to the debt that I maintained and made sure that I do not charge. I only have one account that I use, and I pay it off monthly. My experience has helped me to always look at being fiscally responsible, and it will help my personal life of decreasing my worries financially.

I had a lot of credit card debt and when I called the credit card company to see if they would reduce my interest rate, they wouldn’t even budge. I don’t really make that much money, so the credit card debt was just getting higher and higher because of the interest rate. I could have worked it out if they worked with me, but they wouldn’t so National Debt Relief was my last resort. They’re more known than others and they had a lot of advertisements too. They have friendly people with good customer service. I did the start process on the phone and it was easy. I’ve been NDR since April and it reduced my stress, which was a big relief.

I was trying to figure out where to go so I could try and dig myself out of the hole. National Debt Relief was one of the top ten on the internet so I looked into it and went ahead and talked to them over the phone. Their representatives gave me all the information and weren’t pushy at all. I could also have some time to talk to my husband about it, then we both decided to go ahead and try them. It’s been excellent ever since.Their team has been really helpful and very involved. If I send an email with a scam letter, they would email me right back and let me know.
I had a girlfriend who did the same thing but she went through an attorney and her life was miserable. Her husband was even served papers right at work and I was paranoid about that happening to us. But NDR's reps were very comforting. At first, I didn’t understand that I needed to let my debts go delinquent before NDR could start negotiating. I started panicking but they reassured me that it's not how it works and if anybody contacts me, I should let them know immediately and that if I received any letters, I should immediately email it to them.
Recently, I ran into some issues about the subsidized and unsubsidized student loans in Texas that I had. When we started, NDR told me not to make payments on the subsidized one when we started and that they would take care of it so I haven't been making payments on that loan. Instead, I made payments on the unsubsidized loan. Then the student loan place called over the weekend and said that if I didn't make a payment by the 270th day, they're going to start garnishing my wages since I'm 211 days past due.
I immediately called National Debt Relief and they said that the student loan place couldn't garnish my wages. They said they're getting involved and they'd do the negotiating. We hung up then NDR called back 10 minutes later and said that the subsidized loan shouldn't be in the list of accounts that they're working on and that I should take care of that subsidized loan myself. They were apologetic. As matter of fact, they just got off the phone knowing that they tried to do a payment so that the creditor doesn’t come after me.
Before working with NDR, I was paying more on interest, I wasn’t even getting anywhere on the card and I was getting tired. Also, I had my credit up pretty good but because I maxed out on my credit card, my credit score was starting to come back down and I didn’t want to drop it way down but I knew I had to do something. It did drop but not as much as I thought it was going to. I was on the 600 then I got down to 596. When I called NDR in March, it dropped down to 450 but it’s back up to 470 right now. I thought it was going to go down on the three’s and it was going to be ugly but I knew I had to do that before I could get better. Now it’s already starting to go back up and that really kind of shocked me. I’m already 6-8 months into the program and I feel like I’ve done the right thing. And seeing the bills getting paid off is really exciting. For this, I've recommended them.

I'm getting pretty close to getting the last couple of accounts finished. I would definitely recommend them.
