    Updated on 03/26/2021: It has been good so far. The reps have been very good in communicating with me and taking care of things. I'm not micromanaging and getting involved in every single thing. They also painted a very realistic picture of things and gave me all the information I needed. They alerted a couple of things, including the potential that I would have to pay taxes on the debt that is forgiven or charged off.

    The only missing point would be that I didn't realize that the cost would be so high. I'm almost done and it cost me 22% of my debt, plus, I'll be paying the same amount of money on my taxes on the debt that is charged off. I'm ending up close to what I was gonna be paying anyways, but without the interest and all of the debt consolidated together. Do your homework and definitely make sure what is the end goal. If you want to get out of the trap, this is the way to do it. If you wanna save money, then there may be other ways to do it.

    Upon graduating from grad school, my wife and I decided that we needed to consolidate our debts so we can find some financial management into our life. With National Debt Relief, I don't have to worry about the debts that I have surrendered over to get an agreement for. I got a one who called in the beginning and I just referred the caller to NDR. NDR has been responsive and followed up with whatever information I asked of them. I also have access online to follow-up with my progress, and I particularly like pie charts that let me know how much of my debts are being financed, how much has been settled, and how much agreement has been met.     I'm enrolled with National Debt Relief and I gave them 12 credit cards then started putting money into an account. As soon as I started putting money, they started negotiating with the lowest one, and they settled two or three. The others are all larger amounts and it's sitting there idling, waiting on enough money to be in there for them to go ahead and negotiate. I figured they would go ahead and negotiate and get figures agreed on ahead of time. That way, the calls would stop. There's only so much I can pay a month so there's only so much they can do on their end. It's still stressful and I expected a little more from them.

    I have a problem with one of the banks that sent me a court order and National Debt Relief worked on that right away for me. We got that money then we’re going to start the process. That’s one of the good things that I saw that was working good. So far, I'm not very deep with their program yet but it's working evident. A little too processed because of monetary but they're very good and very helpful in keeping a very calm position. Also, their reps are absolutely qualified about what they’re doing and if one couldn't help me, they get me to somebody else in that field who could.

    I will be 80 next year and have been diagnosed with the beginning of dementia. As I go on, it would get worse and I wouldn’t be able to handle my affairs. I’m single too, had no children and had so much debt on me, but at the rate that I was paying which was the minimum payment due, I would never get through it. It was up to me to get myself out of debt so I could start saving money for funeral and I knew I had to get help from somebody. So, I looked into relief help and went with National Debt Relief.

    I started the program with them in March and for the $27,000 debt that I had, it would be three or four years. They had only settled with two companies and I still got two more years and a lot more companies to settle with, but I was never going to pay my debts off if I had gone the way I was going.     I first spoke with Mr. Clyde ** upon signing up for the program. He was very professional, understanding and patient with me. I asked him to speak slowly and clearly as I had difficulty hearing and understanding him at first. He did exactly what I asked. He listened to my problems and was very concerning and polite. There were items or phrases that she stated that I needed to respond "yes" or "no" to. A time or two, I had to ask her to repeat herself before I could properly answer and she appeared to become confused as to where she was at in her readings to me and became frustrated. Then she began to place more emphasis on the name when she called me "Mr. **". I did my best to try to ignore it and finished with her after some time had passed. She did not appear to be very professional.

    NOTE: I am 61 years of age, have several medical issues and take several medications that take away my abilities to respond quickly and accurately, therefore I have a need to stop and reflect before answering properly.     National Debt Relief is willing to work with me but they want $300 monthly, and I'm on a limited budget of $870 a month. The girl who called yesterday doesn't seem to understand that when other things come up like if I have to have a tooth pulled for $1,600 and a new garage door for $17, and the dog had to have surgery, then I can't always do $300 month. If they subtract that from the $870, they would know how hard it is to live in. In some of the calls I made, the reps have been demanding that I put the money in. And then they told me I would have one paid for by January so I was hoping that would come up. But they said I missed a couple of payments. I put in what I could and now it’s stretching out another six months and I’m going to order some money go to it. They closed one account at the very beginning. And I've been with the company for over the year but I still can't understand where the money goes.

    I'm 72 and I’m not in the best of health, and I don't want this debt hanging over my children. And I'm trying to get rid of it and it doesn't seem to be disappearing very fast. And if I had $300 that I can live on nothing and give NDR $300, then I'll just settle it myself. I know they are working with and helping thousands of people, but I’m on the poor end of the spectrum. So, a little later on if it keeps going on, I have to go for welfare because it only leaves me $570 and I still got bills. And I don't think they care, but they’re trying to help the best they can.

    I'm a former school teacher. My husband and I built a very large retirement home that turned out to be much too expensive and things just crept on me. I thought things would get better and they didn’t. We started paying the house payments on credit cards, which is utterly stupid. We got buried financially. I realized I had to do something. So, I didn't get into it with the debt collectors and after a while, they just stopped calling.

    We're getting ready to move now, selling our house. We'll really downsize. I think we can rebuild things. When we started out with NDR in February, we had four years and five months. We're already getting fairly close to the first year, so I know we can get it done. Out of the seven creditors, three have already been paid off. They were the small ones. A bigger one that is going to take a year to pay off has been started and has the second payment already taken care of. Anytime I called the company, they're very helpful.     I was repeatedly told poor information, 1) That Citizens Bank often settled for 40%, 2) That though I had $ in my settlement acct that BAC couldn't be paid in a lump sum (yet they did). 3) They didn't tell me they were pulling my fee. 4) They told me they had to ask permission to take $ from my holding acct. 5) That I couldn't contact the holding bank, though letters from that holding facility sent me letters saying to call anytime and giving me contact info. 6) That I owed NDR $250 though the statement said $755. I wouldn't ever recommend this company. It's the old bait and switch. Super disappointed in their services and the outrageous things customer service reps told me over the phone. I asked for things in writing and they refused. If the calls truly are recorded, there are some gems in them.

But when I put in some information at NDR's website I got a gentleman call me back and he was very good. Then I gave him more information. He called me back and he was able to take all the debt and he said he would be able to help me out. That’s why I went with National Debt Relief.

    Getting set up with National Debt Relief was a good experience. I did all of it via email. I had to send them copies of all my statements and they got the plan set up for me within 48 hours. They set the amount of my debt and about how long I would pay it off with the payment that I can handle. Then payments are automatically drafted out of my account each month.
