    At first I was not completely certain as to how this service worked. My intention was to repay a loan and to get my life in order without consequence. However, I had consequences which I had incurred, whether intentionally or unintentionally through hardship in particular. The people at Debt Relief made it clear that saving, and making a habit of doing so, would help an individual get out of the habit of bringing upon oneself debt in the future and making it possible to use cash when and if possible. It was not an easy decision, but I think it will pay off (pardon the pun!).

    I was drowning in debt, so I did something and worked with National Debt Relief. They've been everything as it was advertised to be. It seemed a little slow to get going, but that’s partly got to do with the resources that I was able to put forward to the resolution. However, I’ve had the resources they told me would be required, so we made the deal and I signed the contract. My only little blink of confusion was that I’ve been assigned an attorney who called me, and I missed the call, and I tried to call back on two occasions. And I never heard from the attorney again, so we never had the conversation. Still, I would certainly recommend them.

    I was in debt and I was looking to lower my payments. I was checked online for companies that provide some relief and National Debt Relief was the first or the second one that came up. We had a phone call first off where they explained how it worked and what needed to be done. They were very clear that my credit would take a hit and they didn't sugarcoat it. They were also very informative. I decided to join and since then, I’ve been working pretty much exclusively on the website from the portal. Any questions I have, I asked through the portal and that quickly got the answers back to me. The reps I worked with were also professional and courteous.

    Overall, it’s been a good experience despite the fact that it is because I was in debt and I needed help.     Our credit card bill is so high and none of it is going towards the principal, and we were getting nowhere. Everybody at National Debt Relief is pretty good about answering questions and overall, it’s been a good experience. We had a negative experience when we were supposed to be getting a settlement offer and apparently, it fell through and they never let us know. Then the amount that we ended up settling on that card, later on, changed substantially from what they said it was going to be. It was kind of mess for a little bit.

    I reached out to them after that and they told me they had no clue why it happened but it was the way it was going to be. We still ended up settling for a good amount. It was much less than what they had told us in the beginning of the program. And so, when we got the other settlement offer, it was much higher. We thought that we had saved even more money but then we haven’t. Otherwise, National Debt Relief has been great. They settled our first credit card for much less than what we expected. And the second one was right about where they told us in the beginning of the program.

    I had gotten some credit cards, and they overtook me, and then I lost my job and I’m on disability. Our finances were changing in 2012, and even though we have some income, it was drastically cut, so in 2016, I broke down and got a personal loan, but the interest rate was really high, and I was going to use that to pay off the credit cards, but it didn’t work out that way. I ended up with a lot of debt. And when I heard about National Debt Relief, I called them and explained my situation. They told me what they could possibly do, and so far, I’m very pleased. I’m waiting now because I qualified for a loan to wipe out my debt. They settled my last case a week ago. I started out with $14,000 worth of debt, and they settled it for half of that. I’ve even seen my credit score go up. And everything’s not even posted yet, as far as the cleared ones.

    Everyone that I talked to at National Debt Relief was very knowledgeable. They didn’t keep me on the phone for long periods of time, they would reach out to me and if they couldn’t reach me by phone, they would reach me by email and tell me what I needed to do to approve a settlement, so sometimes I didn’t even have to call them, and I thought that was a plus. The company has the customer's best interest at heart. At the beginning, they sent out all the paperwork, and the gentleman that I first dealt with was really helpful in filling out the forms and all those things. Once I sent them in, he’d call me back to let me know that they got everything, and they sent me an email saying that they got my documents. I also like that when I email them, I get an immediate response.

    Working with National Debt changed my life for the better. I have peace of mind, and I don’t have to worry about all the phone calls and letters and the upheaval that comes with debt. The interest rate on the loan that I had with another company was 29 percent and I was going to be paying it for four years. And when I got with National Debt's program, I ended up with an $8000 loan, and they ended up settling it for less than four. The follow-up is great. As soon as they get an offer and a settlement, they’re right on it. So far, nothing has fallen through the crack, and when they reached out to me about the loan to pay off all my debt, by the end of last month, I thought I can do it before Christmas. And the new loan has a lower interest rate, and I should be done with it in about 12 months.

    National Debt is so large, and it may help if they have two people working with a person, so that you get to know who you're dealing with. I would call in and I talk to a person and they transfer me to another person, or if they left me a message, I call back and ended up talking to whoever. Even though everyone was friendly, it didn’t get that personal much. And it would make people feel a little more comfortable if they knew they had a name or a contact person to leave a message with, or to call when they have questions. But I already have recommended National Debt several times.

    I was skeptical with National Debt Relief program until the first bill started coming off. I’m still a little bit shaky about it to be honest because we’re only about six months into debt settlement and we don’t have the money that we'd like to be able to put toward it.     We had a bunch of bills and I just couldn’t do it by myself. I tried my hardest to do it on my own and finally used all of my money up that I had in savings, and I was drowning. I saw National Debt Relief and I decided to do it. I thought it was a good idea at the time. They take $350 out of my check book every month and put it into an escrow. Then they call the creditors and they work out a deal with them. When they find out if they accept what they accept, they call me and ask me if I accept it. I had one bill that was under $500 and we put it in the collection system. After about four months, I sent them an invoice. I got a call back saying that they did not cover that because it was only worth $300. It has got to be over $500. But nobody told me that when I signed for it. So, I was a little aggravated about that.

    Also, I wish they would keep me in the loop a little bit more. I have not heard from anybody in probably a month now. I don’t know if it’s settled. They have settled three of them, but I don’t know if they have settled anything else of the eight. I wish they would settle on a few more. They told me that I would be debt-free in 36 months, and there are still a bunch of creditors out there that they haven’t settled yet. So, I’m not sure what the situation is.

    Once I turned the bills over to them, they told me to stop paying them. I did but I still keep on getting bills every month. And then, every time I get a bill, I email it to them. Nobody has ever told me what happens on my end if the creditor does not want to settle. Do I have to go and continue paying? I’m not and it’s going against my credit right now. Nothing’s changed other than they're taking that money out. When I talked to somebody over a month ago, the answer I got was they were still working on them. The communication system sucks. Other than that, National Debt Relief is okay. They’re trying to help me as far as trying to get out of debt.

    I couldn't file bankruptcy again since I had a bankruptcy in 2010 and I looked to get help from NDR. I'm not altogether happy with them though. I don't like the fact that they can't tell me what accounts have been resolved and what accounts are being negotiated. Until they get something in writing they won't tell me anything. We signed up in April and it's frustrating that it moves so slow. I couldn't access the portal where they say all my information is at. I'm not a computer whiz and I prefer my stuff in the mail so I can see what's going on. I want to get an update on what's going on. I also resent the fact that they can't advise me at all regarding what's going to happen with 1099-C. They should be able to tell me what's going to happen with that. They should have a free legal consultation service to tell you what to expect.

    I was over-extended financially so I googled debt relief organizations and National Debt Relief had the highest ratings. However, the last time I heard from them was about five months ago. I don't think they're very interactive. I expected more feedback from them but the only time I get feedback is whether or not I would give them authority to go ahead with some type of financial transactions with one of my creditors. They periodically send me an email though pertaining to them and not my account. I spoke with two or three different representatives concerning my case and they showed me the best approach that I needed to take and they answered all my questions.

    However, there wasn't enough upfront information about the entirety of the program and the afterwards that I should have been advised of. I talked to my tax person, explained the situation and they told me what they could do for me as far as getting the tax relief that I would need for the IRS. I found this out after I went ahead and committed myself. I'm not saying it's going to impact all of my creditors but I know it's going to impact some of them because they are obligated by law to send this information onto the IRS.

    I had $50,000 dollars’ worth of debt, I had two closed head injuries and two car accidents, and my credit score was 800. I never missed a payment, never had any issues, and within six months, my life fell apart—that’s not how I wanted to live. Aside from the medical bills, my short term memory is affected, I would buy things and not realize it. Bankruptcy is not something that I wanted to do, so that’s why I just began searching for other alternatives. I've been working with National Debt Relief and they were able to help me.

    I have six accounts, and there might be only two or one left to be settled. It went much faster than what I anticipated. I was looking at my USA account, and all of a sudden, my credit cards that was for $24,000 disappeared. I had a $17,000 and a $24,000 and it disappeared. They said “Well, it could still be out there, they could have sent it to collections,” but NDR is not counting it in my debt anymore, and they’re not doing anything for it, so there's only one other credit card that they're working with.

    My only thing is that they’re charging so much money for something that isn’t taking as long as what they had anticipated. If you’re looking at a four year plan that you can fix in a year, then the company if benefiting, and you have to weigh that against the people who do take longer and you still need to recoup your money, but it’s still a financial hardship. And me paying for four more years, the monthly payment is killing me. If it was originally going to be 48 months, and I settle it in a year, then maybe pay two years, I’m still making all the payments. It’s not like they’re paying for my credit cards. I make my payments on time every month. I’m taking this very seriously. I don’t think I’m a difficult case. I’m not behind on my payments. I’m not trying to weasel out of anything. I want this over and done with. I want my credit score back up, because right now, it’s in the 400s, and that is completely shameful.

    My credit has gone up a little bit but it’s going to take seven years to get myself back up. Sometimes I have to decide whether I want to make my payments to NDR, or do I want to make my daughter’s preschool payments, because I want to get out of this. The problem was that I couldn’t keep paying everything. I called the credit card company myself, and asked if we can set up a payment plan, or negotiate and they wouldn’t do anything for me. When I called NDR they said, “The reason they’re not going to do anything for you is because you’re paying your payments on time, so you have to stop making the payments for six months." Then they considered that debt. So, credit card companies were calling me. This is awful and I’ve never felt this way before. And so NDR said, “Just don’t pay, don’t answer. Refer them back to us.” They sent out letter to all my credit cards. The credit card companies stopped calling me since.

    NDR does help you get your bill taken care of, but then, I talked to other companies and they’re supposed to help you rebuild your credit score. I’m not exactly sure how they do that because the only thing that will help you rebuild your credit score is pretty much paying your bills on time, and showing a history of making payments, and making credit decisions wisely. I spoke to law firms that would fix that. What is an attorney going to do? Erase all that stuff for me. I’m paying more than $10,000 dollars to these people to fix my problems. That’s a lot of money and should be included in the whole caboodle. But other than that, they’ve done what they said they could do, though I still think there could be more.

    I heard National Debt Relief on the radio and the recommendation was more credible so I looked it up online and saw that good things were said about it. Their team was really helpful.     The amount that I was paying to my credit card each month as compared to the amount that National Debt Relief gave me was okay for my budget at that time. They’ve been very courteous and they explained things well every time I've called them. I’m still with the program and the three-year payment of $300 a month is steep sometimes. It’s a bit difficult to make the payment especially when it goes up. Sometimes, there’s a schedule for $270 or $293 a month and the agreed-upon monthly was $273, but sometimes I need to pay up as much as $400 to clear one debt and that’s really hit hard on me. They say there is not enough money in there so I need to make a larger payment, yet I don’t get a clear explanation of that action.

    There were also a few months that I’ve had to pay over $400 and I still have one more year to go on the program. The payments fluctuate at least four times a year and they ask me sometimes to put more money into that account so that we can withdraw more, and then that would pay my bill off sooner. If I don’t make a payment and I drop it any point, then everything that I did for the last year and a half is gone. It’s like money wasted and I have to start all over again. I’m dissatisfied with National Debt Relief because of the high payments.

    When I called NDR I wasn't sure if this was for me. The 2 people I talked to were very informative, they answered all my questions to where I understood everything that this program has to offer for someone in my position. And I also feel very at ease knowing that I can call anytime if I have a question or need help understanding something. They are very patient and don't try to rush you into anything.     I did an internet search and found that National Debt Relief's reviews were good. Their reps were very knowledgeable and they seem to be good at what they do. I've been with them for about nine months now and working with them has made my life much more convenient. However, they don’t seem to be very accommodating if you need to call and change your payment date. So, they might be able to improve on that. Nevertheless, I had a very good experience.

    I went with National Debt Relief because the debt settlement worked better for me than debt management or bankruptcy. They were highly recommended as well. They take two monthly deductions out based on what I told them I could pay. It would move along quicker if I had more money to put in my escrow account. But it's moving along based on what the plan is. My interactions with the the people at National Debt Relief have all gone well. The one who set up the account initially really stood out.

    My credit score has gone down probably another 100 points. They did tell me about it and this is to be expected. But I know my debt’s being settled. However, it ruins my credit score until the creditors are paid off and things start getting better. But it's something that I needed to do. The people at NDR were very helpful. They give you the information you need so that you don’t have to answer creditors’ phone calls. They're there for support. That’s for sure. I would recommend them.

    I wanted to avoid bankruptcy so I looked into relief help. I did go to the ConsumerAffairs to get the reviews because there's a lot of companies out there. I liked the reviews that National Debt Relief had so I chose them. National Debt Relief explained everything really good. I went online first and then they gave me a phone call and asked me to give them the information that I had. They looked up everything, and they told me how much they would be able to save. They were convincing and helpful. Working with them had been a bit less stress-free. I still get phone calls and there is the question about when they're going to reach out to the people. But, I just have to be patient and hang with it.

    Their customer service is really good. If you e-mail them a question, they’re really quick to respond, within the 24 hours. However, I don’t know how often it is that they check with the creditors to try to get a resolution or a proposal for what they're saying. It would be nicer if they inform, “Okay. So, next month we’re going to be contacting this one for a proposal.” That’s the only downfall because I still have the calls. I just tell them, "I’m working with so and so company, and please stop calling."

    I've been with NDR for close to six months and I'm not satisfied with the pace of the service. It's been going for so long. I tried a different company before and my credit went up a lot faster. As a matter of fact, my credit just went lower instead of going up. And I'm paying all this money every month. I expected a faster service. I'm ready to quit the service, to go with somebody else.

    From what I heard on the commercial, NDR sounded very good. I gave them a try, but I'm paying $300 a month. Before, with the other company, I spent $100 a month. All I had to do was get a settlement and pay a small amount every month. My credit got full within months. However, NDR doesn't try to talk to other companies or lower all the bills at once. They just say that I don't have enough within the account. I'm paying closer to $300 a month. It makes no sense that I don't have enough. It's going take too long for me to get to where I want to be.

    One of my accounts was just paid up and I have five more payment on the second one. I have a few more accounts that they haven't negotiated yet. They said they cannot negotiate with them just yet as we didn't have enough money in the account. It is a policy. I don't have any problems with it, however with the way they are going about it, it will take me three years. My credit should be approved and it should start going up within months, not three years. I'll never get to buy my second home and that's the purpose of joining this company. I want to get a home within six months and if I stay with this company, there's no way possible that's going to happen. Tomorrow, I'm going to go to the other company and talk to them. Depending on what they say, I might call NDR back to call it quits, because I have a plan for my credit to be at a certain amount within six months. All that's holding me back is just my credit before owning a second home.
